Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: hashtag no music no intro we are back on the same spot party podcast presented by precious works LLC and currently these things have the number four overall pick in the 2021's draft and
- 0:15[SPEAKER_01]: St. Span's have been draft heavy on the mind almost since the season has started, so we wanted to have a episode where we're talking NFL draft and wondering on someone's work who we are both fans of and has been killing it in the draft game recently, Corey Kitten of Daffed on draft and his sub-stacked
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: Daffondraft is amazing SPP, thanks by party podcast, our subscribers of it like and subscribe Daffondraft on YouTube and Corey, thank you for so much coming on and talking ball with us So Adam joined by Ryan and just give the people who may not know and familiar with your work like your brief history in the drafts gouting game
- 1:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so basically I'll start it out of boredom.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_03]: I was getting my master's program at the University of Dayton.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_03]: And I was in my last semester and I was just like, I don't want to be here.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to use this degree that I'm like in my last semester on, um, and so like I just took my laptop to every class that last semester and was just like, back then not, not that bleach report isn't the same now, but bleach report, but you just like aggregate everything and centralize everything and it was really easy to read everything and I just have bleach report open just like reading NFL news and I fell draft news and I think and then so like it eventually got to the point where like it was the spring and it was like the, um, so I was my last year of grad school would have been the, uh,
- 1:46[SPEAKER_03]: Kaiser, Turbiski, Mahomes, Koja, Watson.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: So, 2017.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so I just started opening up Excel spreadsheets in class and like writing out mock drafts in class.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_03]: Because I was so bored and I was like, I don't want to be here.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_03]: I just want to graduate, get out of here, whatever.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not going to quit.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_03]: It's my last semester.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_03]: And then it just kind of evolved from there.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_03]: So then I graduated obviously.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_03]: And then when you're not in school anymore, and you're at adult, you have so much time on your hands.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_03]: And I was like, well, what do I want to do with all this free time?
- 2:12[SPEAKER_03]: I just picked it up.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_03]: I just started, just started messing around with it.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_03]: You know, back then, people were, we're cutting up every single player on YouTube and making these awesome.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_03]: You cut up back in the day.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_03]: You just watched.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_03]: So I was just grinding a lot of YouTube cut ups and it's just kind of evolved from there.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_03]: You know, you start networking, we're networking with people in the industry, you start getting access to all 22.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_03]: You start getting better at it just by spending time doing it.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_03]: And so, you know, this just been kind of my motto is like, I'm just going to keep getting better at it every year and just kind of keep after it.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_03]: So,
- 2:38[SPEAKER_03]: started out of boredom you know six years later we're still here now it's kind of you know it's to come a brand I've started this up that's my own side I've gotten kind of it's kind of just grown into me so yeah That's awesome, you know love here in those stories is you know it's similar like just like me and Adam You know just kind of take creative and stuff like that and you
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: kind of just fall into it.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like some grandmaster playing that you've sitting right down the outline like, oh, there's just what I'm gonna do.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: It just just kind of happens organically.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: I love to hear that.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so, so you've been in the games.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: What's so about since 2017 really going at it, me and Adam, we probably been going at it since what does it?
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: mid 2000s.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, been a while.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: We will say though, like as we've gotten older, are the amount that we give into draft like the drafts and breaking down prospects, it's just not the same.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: Like we used to pay attention to like the whole draft breaking down ground 1 through 7 looking at sick all school players just sickles looking at every other team not just like we focus on the saints you know what are the saints needs and stuff like that so we still have two rounds of that's okay go to them okay but it's still fun I still love the process of just team building and just trying to figure out
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: I can only, how can a team really get better at NFL is like just a perfect sport.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: to watch because you can really see it happen in life.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: Like you look at the Patriots, you know, the Patriots, literally will pick it forth over all last year.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: Just a terrible looking team, terrible.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: And just in one season, being able to flip it and now it looks like they might be the one seed, you know, they look like they have, you know, Super Bowl, contender, DNA Tom, just that quick.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: Just from, you know, it's nice drafts, couple of freezer pickups, hate coaching, of course,
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to fix and appease the quarterback.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_03]: You have a quarterback that's game over here.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: You get that right.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: Must be nice.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: Everything else.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: Must be nice.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_03]: Listen man.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_03]: I'm a Browns fan.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_03]: I've been a Browns fan in my whole life.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_03]: So pretty years my life.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_03]: And I've seen way back in my 33 years.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, it's been.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: But like even to that point, like even the draft of Browns, even though the quote they haven't hit on the quarterback, the players that they drafted with like Mason Graham Carson Carson's question,
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: they're like their draft like that is such a strong foundation, you know, that they have and obviously they still need to quarterback which is the biggest piece.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: But the reason why I like I wanted to kind of get you on is the type of like your work ethic which you're putting in, reminds me very similar of like Matt Harman way back in the day when before Matt Harman blew up John Shipley when he was, you know, now he's covering the jacks.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: So we've kind of like, that's kind of like our era but we've come up from and I kind of see that same.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: you know, desire and hunger and knowledge from you and so I was like, man, let's get Corey on, let's talk things draft and break it down.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll understand.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: No, much, much love rather.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: Let's start with the most interesting thing that, you know, Ryan and I have kind of talked about is, and we talked about it on our podcast in terms of what we've heard, you know, kind of sources is that it's going into the season, the same stimuli have any incling, you know, or, you know, desire to look into quarterbacks for the 2020
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: they were kind of happy just rolling out.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: Rattler shook.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: And that was their plan before the season.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: That was most of their plan throughout the season.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: Then there became like this little, okay, once they bench rattler and then before a shook started against the Rams, the internal vibe of the building was like,
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: we don't think Chuck is going to be good.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's what the team thought.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: And he's been surprisingly been two stars but he's been decent to like okay maybe we can rock with him and be like maybe he can be a starter for a season for us.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: So they kind of have now gone back to we don't need potentially a quarterback high in the draft.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: But let's taking with the quarterbacks if they were to
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: there's the conundrum is Fernando Mendoza, there's Tysonson and Dante Moore which with the last two it's going to be so interesting to see if they even declare.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's the whole thing with both of them.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: But you have been on the Fernando Mendoza train early just a quick, quick bit of the three quarterbacks that potentially are going to be at the top of the
- 7:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so I'll start with Mendoza because that's been my guy since April.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the Monday after the draft.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, I need to drop this piece the Monday after the draft.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to get weight out in front of this and I dropped a piece on how how I thought he would be the big riser of the quarterback class came into the season as my QB one, you know, everybody was.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_03]: writing out like the seniors, you know, and some of it deservedly so with like the drill or Garrett Nustmire stuff, right?
- 7:39[SPEAKER_03]: But I was like, this guy, especially coming off of last year's class, where I wasn't very high on any of the big three of Ward Dark Sanders, right?
- 7:47[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Sanders has turned up not to be out of the big three because he was driving the throne, but like those were the big three names that people were talking about.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_03]: And then so coming out of that, we're such like I didn't really love any of them, including Ward
- 8:01[SPEAKER_03]: I turned on Mendoza's tape because he kind of caught my eye in the season.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, I'll start with him, whatever.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_03]: And immediately it hit me like, this is a palette cleanser.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_03]: This is like, this is a palette cleanser to me.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_03]: Because he's doing stuff pre-snap where he's seeing stuff pre-snap.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, he's able to count guys in the box and know, like, I've got five in in protection.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_03]: There's seven guys in the box.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to have a free run from somewhere.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_03]: I got to know where my hot sat, right?
- 8:21[SPEAKER_03]: And he's getting a ball off fast.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_03]: And so like, that kind of stuff.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_03]: And again, you, you, you, you, you just, I mean, if you've heard the guy talk, you can tell he's really
- 8:29[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's like his two offers coming out of high school were Yale.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_03]: He was committed to Yale and then UC Berkeley came in late two years or not very easy to get into right academically.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_03]: So like those were the two offers that he had.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_03]: So you know he's he's he's wicked smart as well.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_03]: And again, you just hear him here talking, you see him play and how how quick he is to get the ball out and and some of the creative answers he's finding in a very timely manner with the football light.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_03]: Early in the season he hit that cover two whole shot and just like flip-dissips instantly through that ball 30 yards opposite hash into a cover two shot and it's like you saw that
- 9:09[SPEAKER_03]: It's a big time in a fell.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_03]: Big toe.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, like he's got, he's got the arm, the arm is there.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_03]: So you've got the wits, you've got the arm.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_03]: To me, this is, yeah, he's in like the Matt Ryan Kirk Cousins mold, of course.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_03]: You're not going to get a ton of creative stuff outside of structure with him.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_03]: They will run some read options with him, right?
- 9:25[SPEAKER_03]: And I think his linear explosiveness is good.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_03]: His linear speed is good.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_03]: But again, he's six foot five, 225 pounds.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_03]: So the ability that speed turn isn't there, right?
- 9:34[SPEAKER_03]: He's not going to stick his foot in the ground to go.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to take him a little bit a little bit
- 9:39[SPEAKER_03]: The accuracy spectacular, the arm talent is, is, is a minus, you know, I wouldn't put it in, like, in a, like, Josh Allen, patched my home's kind of, Anthony Richardson tier by name means, but a minus, Matt Ryan is just kind of the, the comp that I've wrote out for him to this point is,
- 9:57[SPEAKER_03]: You know, a very smart processor gets the ball out where it needs to go on time and very accurately and then finds those creative solutions when he's kind of static and so on.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_03]: I think another thing that really sticks out to me about men does a good even going back to Cal save.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we've seen a twice three really three times this year already back against the wall in the fourth quarter.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_03]: He's he's told us team down the field in scoring.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, the organ game he throws that that that takes six off his back.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, right immediately comes back and leaves the scoring drive to retake a lead.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_03]: The Iowa game, you know, they're, they're, they've got to fight back late in that game.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_03]: I always got a really good defense.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you've seen it against Dante Moore.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_03]: You've seen it against Mendoza.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_03]: You've seen it against USC this past week and they'll, they punch people in the mouth defensively.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_03]: He throws an interception in that game.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_03]: They fight back late.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_03]: He throws a scene ball with the taking a shot to the chin and he throws a game when he touched down in that game.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_03]: And then the Penn State game just a couple weeks ago does the same thing.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_03]: Like, wheels that team 80 yards down the field to win that game as well, including another
- 10:55[SPEAKER_03]: a bender route where he bends the ball around the the the hook curl defender against a three high-look the gym knows three high-look so he feeds that ball and there then the the top shelf throw to Omar Cooper in the back the end zone as well so like again you go back to the Cal State to there's the NC State game that's Stanford again if you go watch those games as well he wheels this team down the field and and light game situations where they need to they need to they need to
- 11:18[SPEAKER_03]: a score to go ahead and ends up winning the stand for game on a post route to get it's top in the channel that one too and then the NC State game I think they missed like a 35 yard field goal or something like that but he wield them all.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_03]: We're down to field goal range and then they blow that game too.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_03]: So these big game, these big moment opportunities are all over the tape for Fremendos as well.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: I, you talked so well about him and I watched
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: When it was looking like the things we're going to be picking them all overall and was going to head to a quarterback I watched quite a bit of him to kind of get myself caught up and I said that I mean, those are reminded me of as a prospect.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: of Tyler's shock but like as a but like Tyler's shock being like a good prospect.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like all the things that like people didn't like about Tyler's shock at the prospect like men does it does like all those things like very well like and then I told I was talking about this Ryan he's like that that makes a lot of sense and I they're but style listically the the Matt Ryan so one I had so one even said like Sam Bradford even though Sam Bradford was a little more athletic.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: like all in that range, it just been Kurt Cousin.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's the same family.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: The thing family quarterback, absolutely.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's fine.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_03]: I would agree with that as well.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_03]: The the shook things interesting.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_03]: It's like if Tyler shook hadn't been hurt his whole life, and it wasn't afraid to stand and take a hit every once in a while.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like it like it's like because about physically like they're both around six about they're like their statues about the same they're both about six four six five Windows is absolutely linear speed linear speed and accuracy is a lot better with Windows, but shook has like a bigger arm like it's like if you could take the things that Windows it does well and
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: put it into shock or just combine the two you'd have are like an exceptional quarterback prospect.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: But that's that Tyler shook his look good and or decent at least in first two in the first two games.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: So it's it's gonna be so fascinating to see how these quarterbacks kind of play out, especially with tips and and more in terms of the decision that they're gonna have at the end of the season of what they choose to do in terms of going pro or staying college.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: For sure.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: Tell me about more.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's a more old watch like a little bit of when they played, who did they play a couple of weeks ago.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember who they played.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: I only watched a little.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: What's the overall feeling with him from just the point of view?
- 13:35[SPEAKER_03]: I really liked Dante Moore as well, to me he's the cleanest of the quarterbacks.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_03]: I think I still, like, Mendoza's one for me, more would be too for me.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_03]: But like, if I weren't NFL team, I could see how an NFL team could think.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_03]: He's it's the easiest to see with him in terms of a transition into the NFL.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, Oregon's running so many like 12 personnel condensates NFL stuff boots throwback concept like then do like the Mendoza's for as as good as I think he is the Indian offense like if you keep them on Schedule and you don't force him into third and longs Mendoza's just gonna sit there rip our peos in the leverage all day like that's not a
- 14:14[SPEAKER_03]: More is doing a lot of NFL IQ stuff and his ball placement is really good.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_03]: The arm is very good as well, and fundamentally, the mechanics are so clean.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_03]: The feet are so clean, the throwing stuff is so clean, very fluid-thrower.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_03]: Franchalter's tight ball comes out very smooth and so like to me more Ryan reminds me so much of the guy at the jersey I got on the back of my wall back here like to me It's like So many parallels to me between Dante more and 2022 C.J.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_03]: Straud even including the stuff like Again, it's prevalent to me because I live in Columbus, but like
- 14:53[SPEAKER_03]: There were so many people who were like C.J.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_03]: Stop stepping up into the pocket and just run.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_03]: You just run.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_03]: Just run.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_03]: And they would get so mad that he wouldn't just tuck the ball every once in a while and run.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_03]: And then when he started to do it, it's like, wait, this guy's a pretty good athlete.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_03]: Or he's even starting to introduce some quarterback run stuff.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_03]: And more is proving to be a better athlete than I thought he was early in the season as well.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_03]: Um, I think it's very easy to see with more and then yeah, he's a little bit slim like he's a little bit slender in terms of his frame But he's only he's also six but three and only 20 years old.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_03]: So like there's still a lot of room for some body development there as well Can compared to like a guy like you know, you look at Texas A&M's more cell read who's like Six foot and a hundred and eighty five pounds like how much fingers that guy got again right not not a lot bigger like
- 15:39[SPEAKER_03]: there's not a lot of room to grow there compared to to taunt say more so i think the body development in terms of how much bigger he can add i think is still good without compromising some of the athleticism that i think is there as well
- 15:51[SPEAKER_03]: But man, just from a process standpoint from a fundamental standpoint, he is very clean.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_03]: He is very clean and, you know, everybody keeps saying, well, he's not going to come out anyway.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, he's just one of those quarterbacks.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_03]: So there's like, I'll believe it when I see it because like, I can see, I can see a top 10 pick when I see one.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I know it's a 360 one.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_03]: That's a top 10 pick.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_03]: And like, you could tell me he's going to go back to school.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_03]: You want, I'll believe it when I see it.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_03]: And again, he, he, I mean, Oregon's got all that Phil Knight money.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_03]: So they very well could make him an offer.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_03]: He's only 20.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_03]: They could very well make him an offer.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_03]: He says, yeah, I'll go back.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_01]: And the funny thing is, like, I could see the argument of like, okay, Browns have Browns are picking for a quarterback, just for picking for a quarterback.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_01]: Do I want to come out right now?
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: But then here's the thing, if you wait till next year, what's to say that the Browns and Jess are going to be picking high next year either?
- 16:38[SPEAKER_03]: Like, it's, yes, who also could be picking up there.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_03]: The Los Angeles Rams because they have Alka's pick.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_03]: Who's who are going to be stark cousins the rest of the year?
- 16:45[SPEAKER_03]: And it's already the eighth overall pick I think.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, yep, yeah, yeah, man.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: That's huge.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: You can see you can see Dante more with charming face.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and you can Oh, I said this.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so then women do so.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like, yeah, you can see both either.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: Either.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Ty Crimson is so fascinating just because the limited starts and everything and I know he's kind of maybe I don't want to like maybe come down to earth these last two games.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to guess Oklahoma and then with Oklahoma and the Israeli play before LSU.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was just past week in the L.C.W.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's someone that also is very interesting to see what he does come the end of the season.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: I heard that if he, him and his team thought that he was going to go top two and basically got like a top two guarantee, he would declare what you're kind of seeing him and what he's done this year and termed a ties to.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_03]: I've come down on Simpsons because it's been more than just the past two weeks for me and it's like the been the past month for me where I've seen like this isn't as good as it was when I was like, oh, this guy's this guy's running a tight ship and this guy's getting the ball out and this guy's threading some windows on some backside digs and backside over some backside see it's he's seen a lot of stuff and he's throwing the ball So with Simpsons that the accuracy is really drawn over the past month or so it is
- 18:07[SPEAKER_03]: Man, he had that back sight dig this past week against Oklahoma where he shot that ball probably ten yards of And he had a clean pocket to sit back up into and everything and he
- 18:18[SPEAKER_03]: Really shot that thing and then like his deep ball again.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_03]: I get all my subs back.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_03]: I have a charting metric where I chart literally every single throw from these guys And I'm not looking for completions.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_03]: I'm looking for ball placement accuracy.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_03]: So Ball is on target and dropped you get credit for it.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_03]: The ball is it's caught but that receiver's got to go back across his body Or he's got to elevate over the middle feel to go get it like I'm not giving that to you or like Screen pass and you're making you take in the guy away from getting this body up field right away and getting that ball like Screens need to be able to your guys got to be able to catch that get up field
- 18:48[SPEAKER_03]: That's what I'm charting for and with with tie sims in the deep balls sub 50% on target And I think what it really comes down to was sims in and The comparison that I've been using for this is like you go to the combine or you watched the combine and you can tell the difference between a Both two two different athletes can both be four four five athletes, right?
- 19:09[SPEAKER_03]: They can both run mid four four's you can tell the difference between a guy who really glides out of four four five And it looks really easy
- 19:16[SPEAKER_03]: every freaking main pop out of this drug with way to running a 4.45.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_03]: Like he has trained all offseason just to hit that number.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_03]: And to me, I would say that Ty Simpson and Dante Moore might have similar velocity on the football.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_03]: But Dante Moore is very much a smooth four, four, five.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_03]: And again, a very much a smooth thrower of the football, where I feel like Ty Simpson is a strange roar.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_03]: Like you see him through all these hips into every single drive for that he's got.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that's really affecting his ability to place the football work, but once it consistently.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_03]: Like you've got to really put everything into every single throwman like,
- 19:56[SPEAKER_03]: your control of it is going to get a little wonky and I think that's what we're saying with Simpson and that's I mean even in that Oklahoma game he completed an opposite hash deep ball to ride lanes and ride lanes caught the ball right but like I mean that ball float I felt like it.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: Oh good while.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what you talking about.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_03]: Safety took a real bad angle on that to a safety takes a good angle on that that ball is going to pick off like the safety's angle ended up behind Ryan Williams.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_03]: Like if the safety takes a good angle that
- 20:23[SPEAKER_03]: like in a felt 10 out of 10 times I've also picked off.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_03]: So like I've got some concerns with Simpson, but I will say Simpson again.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_03]: I he sees the game really well.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_03]: He's got full control and he's able to call his own protections.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_03]: He's able to call his own checks.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_03]: He addresses a defense really well as a lot of manned his own indicators that he can read out really well and he knows what he's doing post snap for the most part to to get his eyes on the right spot.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_03]: So he's he's
- 20:52[SPEAKER_03]: And again, when he's on, he's on, and the ball comes out hot, and the ball comes out fast, and on time.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_03]: So I do think there's a lot to like, but again, this goes back to the body development.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_03]: I think to it, I think my concern with Tyson's in is like, Tyson's in is to it, but I think that Tyson's is already scratching the ceiling of how they could be.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know, so I think that's the conversation that I'm kind of fighting myself with with Tyson's in.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: and with super limited starts like that's that's a and that's the whole that's the whole other conversation of like how how important is starts in college like indicative but like if you're an NFL team if you have a limited number of starts and you are potentially already at your ceiling like I get to see a lot of teams being like
- 21:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know, yeah, I think the the the amount of starts.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_03]: I think there's a lot of gray area with those Simpson and more because you can send them both pretty inexperienced But for sure on a gray area For one Simpson as the second team quarterback is a scout scout team quarterback and you can make the argument that he's played against more and fell talent as a Scout team quarterback and any of these quarterbacks have
- 22:04[SPEAKER_03]: It's also a dad's with division one head coach so there's all of that as well and then with more like more was a first-year starter or did start right away at UCLA his true fresh Yeah, you did and then I think Like the thing that we don't get a lot of access to with these quarterbacks as well is the intangibles like what it takes you to the locker room and what it takes to lock in and be that guy to go to work every day grind out the film room
- 22:28[SPEAKER_03]: but I think with more you can get a glimpse with that and say like this guy was a true freshman starter when do you see L.A. so he could start immediately which and then made the decision like maybe I'm not maybe I'm not there maybe I shouldn't be.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_03]: and he decided to transfer to Oregon and sit behind the most experienced college quarterback in college football history and don't get rid of like he said maybe I need to go take a beat let me go sit here to Oregon learn from Dylan soak it in a little bit and then I'll take the take the reins again and that's what he did and he's with us where so like super self-aware that kind of intangible thing so like
- 23:02[SPEAKER_03]: To me, I get a glimpse of that with more as well.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_03]: Same Simpson, like I could see it with Simpson because of all the priests in the app and control he has and the respect he's got of that offense.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_03]: And then it does it's easy to see as well with the I do it as so like you can see it with these guys.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_03]: I could see like, but to me, Simpson feels like that.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_03]: That guy that goes first round because the quarterback knows that they have a competitive roster and they need a quarterback right now Like the Patriots taking back Jones 15th overall like I'm trying to think of another good example But like more than like you just place it like to me
- 23:41[SPEAKER_03]: This would be like the Steelers who are like good and they're going to end up picking like in the 20s because they're going to win enough games.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_03]: Like Aaron Rodgers is playing some really bad football right now.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_03]: They're good enough roster to win some games and they might say like listen, let's just throw Simpson in here and see if we can roll up and drop them.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_03]: Like Mike Talon's been there forever.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't want to mess with the like dealing with another Kenny Pickett situation.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't want to mess with the situation where he's got to deal with the rookie quarterback.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that's kind of the case with like Bill Belichac as well.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_03]: Like that dude was like 70 when
- 24:10[SPEAKER_03]: Just give me somebody I don't have to I don't have to I don't have to be that knows what he's going to do and I can throw in here day one like He got the ceiling is kind of where we are we are scraping the ceiling like let's just see what we can do keep the competitive window open as long as possible as long as I'm going to be here and let's throw right Yeah One thing I love that you do on your website is you know you you do actually chart The quarterback should sell for you like like depending on any of these are analytic services, you know PFF
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's fine to use those, but you like to go in there yourself and get eye on it, charting yourself, weight of yourself, which is just impressive.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I urge people to go to your website and protect yourself.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_00]: You actually chart live, you do the videos, and you chart live.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'm saying like when I'm watching tape, I like to just, I don't want nobody watching like I want Because I got my own little process that I do in shock.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't want to avoid your issue, I don't want nobody looking over my shoulder I got my own process and I do it.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_00]: And it's nowhere to the level what you do.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm curious like what's your
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: I would get you going with quarterback prospects because everybody kind of has their own though flavor, yes, that they like like, yeah, that's that's my type of quarterback.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_00]: What's your type of quarterback that means?
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh, let me go.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_03]: That's a, like, I think there's a threshold with time talent that like you have to have to be passed through the field, right?
- 25:37[SPEAKER_03]: The like.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_03]: I think that we went through this swing because of Mahomes and Allen in consecutive years, 2017, 2018, where everybody is like, we need to just draft the guy with the biggest arm and the best athletic tools and then we can work on the rest.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_03]: And I think we ended up drafting sorry for my language but some dog shit quarterbacks to doing that.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_03]: like I said whatever you want to sell this fight I think we all went through this and that's no disrespect to these quarterbacks But like 2022 we went through an entire process of talking about how Malik Willis was the best quarterback in this draft Besides the fact that he was running huge phrases
- 26:11[SPEAKER_03]: Juvenile asks all fence and couldn't do anything other than look for a backside nine or scramble with the foot wall Like would not read a concept out and so I think like we went through this phase like you know You got to take the shot on tools and I think with sellers where we got there a little bit this year as well Although I think sellers is a little more structured than people want to give him credit for even if the timer needs a lot of work Still, but he's gonna go back to school anyway, but
- 26:35[SPEAKER_03]: For me, man, like I want those clean, those crisp clean pocket passers, those guys who know what they're looking at, pre-snap posts now, get the ball out.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_03]: And when they see something where they can take a hot or take an alert, they take it.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_03]: like you give him back side post even though concept is like three by one and like in the concepts to the three man side, if you're going to give him that backside chunk, they're going to have the the goal, the arm talent, the the arm arrogance to take it as well.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_03]: Like I see that with with Mendoza, like one of my favorite quarterbacks of all time to evaluate has been the guy with the jersey behind me.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_03]: CJ Strauss is like one of my all-time favorite quarterbacks to evaluate ever because he's he's one of those like very smart, accurate,
- 27:14[SPEAKER_03]: got see quarterbacks like again if he sees a running back trying to turn and run the pole up the scene with his back turn he's got to throw it the guys back like that kind of quarterback is are those of the kind of guys that I really loved to watch.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_01]: it's you know it's always interesting and it's like people who like break down film and prospects of like what are the the things that truly get them going.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_01]: I know like for this position specifically the kind of transitioning because we could talk quarterbacks all day.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to I'm going to read you this current white receiver is currently on the Saints like this is their damn jar.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's really I am the idea.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: Chris Alave.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: Kevin Austin Jr. Yeah.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: Getting... After Richie, she got traded and Brennan could've got wave because he doesn't want to be on a shitty team.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: Getting into the Titans, John Johnson and Jake Stoll, running back's Devon Nill and an A.G.M.A.K.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_01]: Corey, when I tell you that this team needs juice suppliers.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the worst fucking way.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: We have been...
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: Chancing and hoping for Jews for so long.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: I forgot about Kendrick Miller, who tore his ACL, like, but that's the Kendrick experience.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: So since we've been fans, or not since, but like the same strapped it, Chris Alava in the first round, 2022, for that, their other right receiver they drafted first round was Brandon Cooks in 2014 and they drafted Michael Thomas in the second round, which would have been 2016.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: Talk to me about Brisbell, Jordan Tyson, Malachi women.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: I need to know.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: I need something.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_01]: I need to feel something again.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_03]: So the same stuff like I think are a sneaky like trade down target.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_03]: Snack up some assets I think should be because it's like other picking.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and they built up the offensive line.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like, you know, I guess I just traded Trevor Penning.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_03]: But like, I mean, you hit on, you hit on, you hit on Fwaga.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_03]: Like, that's a, that's a solid place to start.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so I think the conversation starts with, if we're talking top pick, wide receiver, right, then the conversation starts with Jordan Tyson and Carnell T. Carnell Taylor, what, why are you state wide receiver?
- 29:42[SPEAKER_03]: So, with Jordan Tyson, he's very electorate, very elusive, very clean crowd-runner, and very good hands.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_03]: With Jordan Tyson as well, he has had...
- 29:54[SPEAKER_03]: a collar bone injury.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_03]: He has had a hamstring injury this year.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_03]: He has constantly hurt.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know how the medicals come back on Jordan Tyson because I mean, even going back to his USC days, dude's been hurt a lot.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_03]: Dude was hurt last year for Arizona State, had the collar bone injury.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_03]: Dude's misgames this year.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_03]: This is for Arizona State, like it's just like
- 30:16[SPEAKER_03]: how much of this is going to come back.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_03]: And then like I think Tyson and Alave have a lot of very similar skill sets like that slot diversity, a lot of overlap.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_03]: And again, you can make two slot sea versatile guys work because you can run a lot of crossers.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_03]: You can line one guy up inside one guy about side.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_03]: You could flip them.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_03]: So there's a lot you can do there.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_03]: But to me, I feel like Carnell Tate would be a good fit with the same component to get slot sea versatility of a dominant ball winner at X.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_03]: So it's going to go up at the catch point.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_03]: Cardinal Tate is probably a four-five athlete like I don't think he's like Meretic Barnard by any means, but like I think a lot of the movement skill stuff and a lot of the ways that he plays reminds me a little bit of CD-Lam Who also like
- 31:00[SPEAKER_03]: has a lot of slot versatility as well.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't know if Colonel Tate has that much slot versatility to really be able to leverage both insight out, break off and on a dime and you know, not give up, which way he's he's cut enough top of his route.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he's that fluid as CDLAM or that dominant as CDLAM or that smooth, but kind of takes a smooth mover.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_03]: And then at the end of the day, a dominant ball winner down the field.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_03]: So I think that would be a really good fit.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_03]: If we move into, like, say the say, do you trade down for whatever reason, or even trade back up into the 20s from the second round?
- 31:29[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's where we can, well, if they trade down into, like, the teens to late teens, maybe early 20s, we can talk about McCuy Lemon as well, the USC receiver.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_03]: And I think the place to start that conversation is to identify how dominant, among Ross St. Brown, Jackson Smith, and Jigbuck are really season a mech egg book, but it in mech egg book, it's kind of trailed off here with Baker Mayfield's play, kind of declining a little bit as well.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_03]: And I think my Kevin's going out has also impacted the ability to make sense of targets.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_03]: But that mold of excuse me, the
- 32:03[SPEAKER_03]: really refined route run a really smoothly not overly dynamic explosive but they know how to win and have good vision with the ball in their hands as well and catch like that ability to transition from a receiver to a ball carrier the Kylaman is very much in that same mold of smithenshick but as on on run as in that case boooka
- 32:20[SPEAKER_03]: Again, another probably four, five athlete.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_03]: It wouldn't shock me if you're like a four, four, seven, four, eight, a high, four, seven, but like not an overly explosive athlete smooth.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_03]: Again, really strong at the catch point given his stature as well.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_03]: And so like I can't get the thought out of my head is like, why why don't we just start drafting these guys then if these are the guys that are dominating the NFL then let's start drafting these guys right Chris Bell is a little more volatile at Louisville, but he's also
- 32:46[SPEAKER_03]: unguided the explosive and he's in a six foot one and 227 pound frame so the guys built like AJ Brown and he he's gonna run a four four probably like a four four two
- 32:59[SPEAKER_03]: ungodly explosive at this point will give him shallow crosses in slants and not only is he a bully against press man against like on those quick slants like could go watch and push dudes off the line of scrimmage against press man and catch slants like with five yards of separation but he will house him and he will house the shallow crossers and take him 40 yards down the field because he's got it.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_00]: Why is it?
- 33:20[SPEAKER_00]: Why is it he more highly thought of?
- 33:23[SPEAKER_03]: It's kind of a body tattoo and he's got some volatile hands.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_03]: A little bit, um, I forgot from some people close to like, like some from some some scouts who are in that area, as well that Louisville has maybe some concerns about some maturity issues like some some issues about like is he locked in a hundred percent of the time some stuff like that.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_03]: But even at that 61227, you watch him run a comeback as well.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_03]: And he's snapping those things off.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_03]: You watch his stems man.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_03]: Like he is twitched up and sudden at 227 as well, which is pretty rare.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_03]: So like if you get a consistent Chris Bell every single time, this is a really dominant receiver.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I can see like saints just how they do things.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_01]: Just how they think.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, oh, we have Tyler shock here at quarterback.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_01]: Tyler shock plate with Chris Bell.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like it just like I just know how this team thinks is so much and I can see that and I'm not saying that he would be drafted like in the top 10 But I wouldn't surprise me at all like with that that being their logic if they're rolling with shock come to 126 that they give him his former college teammate Yeah, I think I'd Brutler had him at like 31 on his most recent top 50 I think so like we're talking back and first round to early second round there with them So like yeah very possible
- 34:34[SPEAKER_03]: But I'm a huge crystal fan.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_03]: He came into my season into the season as my white receiver too I mean, I'd probably haven't still top five But I think it's a really good receiver class.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about some really good dudes in this class We need all of them How about like running back?
- 34:52[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I know about no Jeremiah loves, but like who else like if running back is been kind of shining this year that
- 35:00[SPEAKER_03]: It's not last last, not last, I think of it.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_03]: Um, I mean, last year's class was the year to get what if you needed one.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, we know.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_03]: Um, I mean, it's Jeremiah Lovingfield.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, right now, we might be talking about Jderian price, who is the other Notre Dame running back as the second best running back in this class, you know, I just watched for a, inside the filmroom that's going up on my sub-stack tomorrow, the Nebraska running back, Emmett Johnson, who had like 200 totally yards last week against UCLA, but
- 35:32[SPEAKER_03]: I also have a bias.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_03]: I have a very like body type bias at running back and it's like I want all of the most like if you don't have quads that I can see on tape I don't want to draft you like straight up like and I just feel like there's so many running backs on tape that are five eleven and two hundred pounds with chicken legs And it's like dude, I don't want to draft you.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_03]: I'm really sorry Like it's Jeremiah.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, do you need a price as a nice body type too, but outside of that it's like
- 35:54[SPEAKER_03]: These guys aren't running through contact.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_03]: These guys aren't really dominant.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_00]: I like them thick man.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_00]: I like these.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_03]: You need good muscle hamster.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_03]: Just like the acid gets it types.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_03]: The quenchant jet comes types.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_03]: Give you a guy that's going to run through somebody's face.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_03]: Man, like that's kind of what I want.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_03]: And there's really not in this class.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_03]: Like if you ask me today whom I running back to is I don't have an answer for you.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_03]: If Jeremiah love and after that it's just like
- 36:20[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, man.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk after the combine.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_03]: See how these guys test.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_03]: Like, because to me, it's just like the rest of the group as a dime it doesn't.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_03]: It's how it just feels to me right now.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: With how high the things are picking, I'd be remiss if we didn't talk to you about a ribbon-bane of Miami Reese of Ohio State, who's my frack day.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my God.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not trying to do this for
- 36:49[SPEAKER_01]: Texas Tech, like, biased, there's still David Bailey in there too.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: This team has drafted so many edge wrestlers over the years, marks them for Peyton Turner as A. F.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: O.'
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: 'Sky, and it's just been bad.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: I've watched a lot of room bane because it just, it would make so much sense for them to draft him.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: Me and Rhina have also not been great when it come when it's come lately too, like,
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: assessing and watching and being right on adressors because we've been wrong under at verse.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: We've been wrong on I don't know who else we've been wrong.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Garrett Rousseau.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: Those are two that kind of come to mind.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_00]: Even God I watch scored.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_00]: We'll, we'll, we'll, next score.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_00]: And are you like looking good for the pants?
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: We were right on.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: Let's, we were out a lot too.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: Thankfully, like, we were not too.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: But.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_01]: with Ruben being like, I watch him and I see the appeal, but there's other things about him and like, it's he going to test well, he lifts kind of whole game.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't, and I, that probably just could be tied to just us as fans of this as St. Span's just getting spurned by edge selections of these last couple of years too.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: So that may play a factor into it, but let's, you know, what are your thoughts on these, you know, these highly talented edge pressures?
- 38:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so if I read off to you past restaurant who is 64287 pounds around 47640 only jumped 31 inches and a 9 foot 9 broad jump.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_03]: What would you say?
- 38:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's a end of the first round or high second round picked a pinning on his production and the competition he went against.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_03]: What if I told you that was
- 38:50[SPEAKER_03]: If the, if the saying's going to take an address early, I think that Ruben Bay makes a lot of sense now, Cameron Jordan has 35 in charge.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_03]: Ruben remains for, I think, I might have the verified on me any one second year, but I think they're like 32 and a half.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_03]: So they're not, they're not anywhere near, I don't have these in underclass when I don't have the verified on them.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_01]: That, that can't make so much sense, because I think Jordan, someone mentioned it earlier in the
- 39:19[SPEAKER_03]: So like, yeah, do I think that he's going to rob four five?
- 39:21[SPEAKER_03]: No.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_03]: No, like he might run a four six nine to four seven flat.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_03]: That wouldn't shock me.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe a little bit.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe like a four six eight.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_03]: I think that 10 yards splits going to be up there.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's going to have a good 10 yards split.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_03]: But he's he's really flexible for a size even though he's a little bit denser a little more stocky of a past pressure I think he can take the outside track pretty pretty well and he can he can condense his surface surface very pretty well But I get the guys Got heavy heavy hands the guys really In the run game so like at some point.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we can evaluate like all these like Secondary and peripheral traits about a guy like yeah, he's kind of stocky kind of shorten the arms
- 40:03[SPEAKER_03]: But like he's explosive, he can still win the outside track.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: And the nation is his hell too.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_03]: Tenacious, damn huge.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_03]: And to me, it's like, to me, like, if I want to look at maybe a wide receiver over think that I just recently had, it's like, Tech McMillan.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Technic Millen doesn't really separate that well on the vertical plane and Technic Millen has 30 what he had like 31 inch arms I think 32 arms and despite being 6 foot 5 and you know like well how well is that body type and that kind of skill set really worked the NFL level but like I don't know this guy really separates really well underneath despite being that and this guy's getting out of breaks really well despite being that big maybe I should have thought about that and this guy's still winning at the catch point really well despite only having these short arms these stubby arms so like
- 40:46[SPEAKER_03]: To me it's kind of like kind of that same thing.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_03]: It's like what the tape's really good.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_03]: So I was still be pretty in on on Ruben Bane as far as David Bailey.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_03]: David Bailey is a really really dynamic pass-rusher.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_03]: I put a really big net negative against the run.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_03]: Like back in he gets pretty blown off the ball in the run game doesn't really, but when you let him pin his ears back man, if you want an edge rush that's going to run a 4-4 that guy's going to run a freaking 4-4.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_03]: as an address right and I think I had a scout tell me he's his weights up to like
- 41:18[SPEAKER_03]: I think 247 is what they said.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_03]: They told me and like probably like 34 and a half inch arms is what Scouts were saying.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_03]: Now, they don't have verified measures on him because he was a spring transfer portal guy.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_03]: So he wasn't at Texas Tech when the NFS scouts came through and did all of those measurements that this past off season.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_03]: So we don't have them.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_03]: But Scouts have told me they're estimating right around 34 and a half on his arms.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_03]: Um, really nuanced past recipe attack and ungodly explosive.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and so like we've seen these past specialists get drafted.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_03]: Layout to Wattu.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_03]: Is Layout to Wattu a good run defender?
- 41:52[SPEAKER_03]: God, but like the guy gets after it is a past pressure and in his second season now he's kind of put it all to put it together here for a little bit of the call.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_03]: So like those guys don't get drafted high.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so that's kind of where I'd be with David Bailey as well.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was, I was just going through the all 22 of just like the top 10 past wrestlers so far this season, you know, the guys who needed pressure is quick pressure and sex, all that stuff.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_00]: Just try to see like how do they win?
- 42:17[SPEAKER_00]: Like how do these guys win?
- 42:19[SPEAKER_00]: And it seems like just most guys win, like you got to be good and power.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like you got to be able to probably be like those guys that just those guys that are just kind of tweeners that can only win with speed.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_00]: You just don't see them win much, man.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_00]: Like you've got to have a power dynamic to your rush.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously speed get off is like, you know, number one, of course.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_00]: But if you don't have that power to you, and I think that's probably what I've been missing in my like evaluations in the past, where I put like a high value on just like,
- 42:52[SPEAKER_00]: twitching this and all that stuff and I won't bend and all that stuff.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm looking for all that but man those guys it might be boring watching them step up to snap just try to power guy but those are the guys that's like winning in the NFL and also to nations in this like you're most of the sex and big please come
- 43:09[SPEAKER_00]: like three and a half seconds.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Anderson just made an insane play on Thursday night.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_01]: Infall with his tonight's business.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_03]: Just I would say like look at the two pat that the last two NFL defensive rookie the years, it's well Anderson and Jared first two guys have run through your face.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_03]: a long arm you and bull rushes straight back into the quarter of it.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_01]: So we can close with Mike, Mike, our draft bay, our, our, our, our, our, our, our values.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, of Ohio state.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: The things are fourth right now, picking Ryan and I think they're probably, be picking meeting we're between like four and seven when the season ends, right?
- 43:46[SPEAKER_01]: If they're picking below four, I don't think to have a chance to raise.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's everything that the things need defensively in terms of explosion, tenacity, a dog, but do you worry of and just like your thoughts on, do you worry about maybe the tweenernist that comes with him or do you think that that'll transition just just by for him?
- 44:08[SPEAKER_03]: Because to me, he's a four or two or thirty five pounds.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_03]: He's sad, but that's a freaking alien.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's what people want it.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_01]: J.L.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_01]: and Walker to be.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_03]: I could see that.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_03]: I could see that to me, I think we're in those same conversations that we have with Mike Parsons.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_03]: And again, Mike Parsons is a little bit different because Mike Parsons only has like 31 in charms.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_03]: But again, Mike Parsons is ungodly powerful, flexible, exposed, like the full package.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_03]: Like I think we can have those same conversations about our real risk, except this guy's got 34 and 34 and 34 in charms.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_03]: So like, I mean, you
- 44:48[SPEAKER_03]: You can play at the second level and step down and take a guard on head on and ragdoll him.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_03]: You watch him play Sam and set an edge against an offensive tackle and stick his arm out and set an edge.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_03]: and you see him come off the edge as a pass rusher and would say how it's in the chest and I'd even start to see him like this guy's dropping in the coverage a little bit and he's doing more than just sitting hook curl so like and then the the what he how he originally popped onto the scene was the Texas game almost exclusively was spying archmanning and triggering on archmanning and closing on archmanning and breaking havoc so like coffee house coffee house
- 45:31[SPEAKER_03]: You put this guy anywhere you want to that's like so like there's there's gonna be this debate of what is he going to linebackers in edge rush Like we had we had these same frickin conversations about Mike Parsons and look how he's doing just fine Now again, Mike Parsons is pretty excitedly in edge rush or now, but like Maybe that could be our velvety and he's got the tools to be a really freaking good one if that's what you want to do I'm gonna scout him as a linebacker, but again, we should use linebackers to do a little bit of everything anyway at the NFL and it like To me this is much different than like
- 46:02[SPEAKER_03]: In Isaiah's Simmons situation, when that guy legitimately didn't have a position, our building says two positions that he's really good at.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_03]: So I think it's a completely different situation than the guys of Frick and Alien.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_03]: He's the number one player on my board right now, and unbelievably dominant football player.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_03]: And again, a Richard sophomore and 21 years old.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: Is he an Orescent sophomore?
- 46:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, he's a Richard sophomore.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_01]: The Lord, I thought he was a junior.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus Christ.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_03]: He's 20 years old.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_03]: He turns 21 in August.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_03]: So he'll turn his, he'll be legally allowed to drink during training camp of his rookie season.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_01]: Well, insane.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I know what I want on draft night.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see you back.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_00]: So the Saints would at least, at worst they would need the number three overall.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_00]: Can't correct.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_00]: I would say top three.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_03]: I think what's going to happen there because again right now is it's latest the Titans and the Saints are slated to pick one and two, those both those teams again if the Saints aren't going to draft the quarterback.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_03]: Both those teams are going to be in a position to bid with the Browns, Raiders, Jets, Jets, and even Rams.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_03]: for that pick like I'm get it things that this is a year to come up and get it like they're this the year to come up and get a guy because there's two quarterbacks again I talked about Mendos and more ad nausea and I would feel really good about coming up to get either one of those guys so the issue that things have is we play both the Titans and the Jets yeah I didn't what they have going in their favor is the Browns and the Raiders play this week so one of those teams is one and what do you do it what do you do it what do you do
- 47:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's a good asshole.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_01]: Corey, this was fantastic and great man.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_01]: We definitely appreciate you having on when the Saints and draft passes in April.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_01]: We may try to get you on for a, you know, in my prospect review episode, just breaking down all the Saints' draft picks.

- 48:12[SPEAKER_01]: We enjoyed it.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_01]: Love a good draft talk, even though it's just November.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_01]: It was needed for this team.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_01]: And it gives, it gives our listeners like, hope in just like, okay, like, start doing that, that mind going.
