- 0:00It continues to get worse to a point
- 0:01where they make massive permanent
- 0:03[music] changes to make things better.
- 0:05>> They didn't tell them in a timely
- 0:06manner, right,
- 0:07>> that this happened. So the people
- 0:09couldn't even stop.
- 0:10>> Yeah. They were trying to squash it
- 0:12down.
- 0:12>> And it's just so interesting to me like
- 0:14how hypocritical this stuff is because
- 0:15the guy that championed the bills like
- 0:18gambling [music] tears at the fabric of
- 0:19society and social mores and you know
- 0:22all this terrible stuff. But horse
- 0:24racing that's okay. You know, my [music]
- 0:27my state has that.
- 0:35Today's lead story is kind of a
- 0:37conglomeration of a bunch of things cuz
- 0:39we got a whole bunch of announcements
- 0:40today. Ellis Island expansion enters
- 0:43phase three, third and final phase.
- 0:45>> We were just down there.
- 0:46>> Oh yeah,
- 0:47>> because we're filming there now. Boom.
- 0:49How about that partnership? Desert DJens
- 0:52and the Ellis Island.
- 0:54>> Very, very cool. So, man, we were
- 0:56already down there just kind of in an
- 0:58official capacity when they opened up
- 1:01the other phase. Place is looking great
- 1:04>> and uh and now we're officially working
- 1:06with them. So, you're going to be able
- 1:06to go down there in just a couple of
- 1:08weeks. We
- 1:09>> we can announce all the things, but you
- 1:10can't go do the things yet because we
- 1:12have to get some logistic things done. A
- 1:14lot of things to get done. We are going
- 1:15down.
- 1:15>> So, yeah. So, we're already recording.
- 1:17We recorded our first video. So, you'll
- 1:19be able to start going down to Ellis
- 1:20Island and get free play from the Desert
- 1:23DJs. And what you'll do is you're going
- 1:24to go to desertens.com/ellis
- 1:26to register for it and you'll bring the
- 1:28email down there and then you're going
- 1:29to get to spin a wheel that will get you
- 1:3115 to $1,000 in free play.
- 1:33>> A nice big chunk of change right there.
- 1:35>> You can also come down and watch us do a
- 1:38group poll on the last Friday of every
- 1:40month starting
- 1:42>> they can join us
- 1:43>> March 27th. Come do a group with us.
- 1:45It's going to be a live stream. There'll
- 1:46be an hour cocktail hour starting at
- 1:486:30 followed by the group. Yeah. Very
- 1:51very cool. But let's talk a little bit
- 1:52more about the expansion. So, they did
- 1:54phase one, which has been done for a
- 1:55while. Phase two opened uh just now in
- 1:58February.
- 1:59>> Looking great. We got some footage of it
- 2:01here. We'll throw in the video.
- 2:02>> New table game areas.
- 2:04>> Motion desk was redone.
- 2:06>> They moved some slot machines around.
- 2:07Like the place looks newer, fresher.
- 2:09>> Don't have to walk down that long
- 2:10hallway.
- 2:11>> Get down to the bathroom and the
- 2:12cashier. It's right there in the casino
- 2:14now.
- 2:15>> Yep. New village pub. They had taken the
- 2:17village pub out and put in slot
- 2:18machines.
- 2:19>> Some of the best ribs in town.
- 2:20>> Yeah. It's looking good. Now they're
- 2:22going to redo the karaoke area
- 2:24>> and uh that's phase three.
- 2:25>> Yeah, it's in the in the front yard is
- 2:27also under construction, which is a
- 2:28shame cuz I I like the front yard. I
- 2:30hope they can
- 2:30>> The front yard is open.
- 2:31>> Oh, is it open? Yes, the front yard is
- 2:33open. Oh, it says the front yard would
- 2:34stay open.
- 2:35>> The front yard is open. The karaoke is
- 2:37being redone. Yes,
- 2:38>> karaoke is down. And eventually, I'm
- 2:40told that when they reopen that, we
- 2:42might be able to do a Desert Dent's
- 2:43karaoke party in there. Absolutely.
- 2:45That's what they're offering us. So,
- 2:46pretty pretty cool stuff. LS's got, you
- 2:49know, some really cool things going on.
- 2:50It's a family-owned property. In our
- 2:53experience, just plain limited. They're
- 2:54return to players better than on the
- 2:56strip, right? Because it's, you know,
- 2:57they're not the big corporate uh
- 3:00conglomerate trying to suck all the
- 3:01money out of tourists. In fact, they get
- 3:03a lot of locals that go down there as
- 3:04well. Really good specials. They have a
- 3:06799 steak special, which you know darn
- 3:08well,
- 3:08>> I'm going to be taking advantage of
- 3:10that.
- 3:10>> They brew their own beer there.
- 3:11>> Yeah. It's a brewery. It's in the name.
- 3:13Yes. It's funny. Mr. D's like, "It's not
- 3:14a brewery." I'm like, "It's in the
- 3:15name." They literally brew their own
- 3:16beer. Yes, I am brewing. pretty freaking
- 3:17cool. So guys, come check us out down
- 3:19there at Ellis Island, especially when
- 3:21we have that free play offer and go down
- 3:23there and check them out.
- 3:25>> Ryan, there's some storm clouds on the
- 3:28horizon here.
- 3:29>> Yes, there are. Yes.
- 3:30>> It's been interesting cuz as we started
- 3:32this podcast, we've had some like
- 3:34positive news on this front, some
- 3:36negative news, and some positive news
- 3:37and some negative news. Well, this is
- 3:40not looking great.
- 3:41>> Not positive.
- 3:42>> Yeah. Las Vegas Strip Gaming win drops
- 3:4611%
- 3:47to start the year in 2026.
- 3:50>> Not a good start.
- 3:52>> It's pretty significant.
- 3:53>> Yeah,% these are not one or two%
- 3:56>> numbers. There was another thing in here
- 3:58that I saw about the consecutive nature
- 4:02of some of this. It's on the next topic
- 4:03we'll get into.
- 4:04>> Uh Mosqu and North Vegas still continue
- 4:07to to to have some growth. talked about
- 4:09that last week,
- 4:10>> but Clark County specifically 8.3 uh
- 4:14overall 8.36%. Nevada statewide down
- 4:186.6.
- 4:19>> Less and less people, I think, feel the
- 4:21need to come here
- 4:22>> and pay $25 extra for room charger was
- 4:26another story that we just saw.
- 4:28>> Uh yeah, all the things. There was
- 4:30someone that just had two margaritas and
- 4:32two bottles of water at a show and paid
- 4:34almost 200 bucks.
- 4:34>> $200.
- 4:35>> It was like a $25 admin fee. Well, my
- 4:38chair is like going crooked. A uh a $27
- 4:41tip,
- 4:42>> right?
- 4:42>> Plus the, you know, the VI the VIP
- 4:45marble shots of Patone or whatever.
- 4:48>> Stories get out. People don't appreciate
- 4:49getting ripped off. No,
- 4:50>> I don't mind paying for a premium
- 4:52experience and paying a premium price.
- 4:54>> Never had a problem with any of that. I
- 4:56just never like to feel like I'm
- 4:57objectively being just completely ripped
- 4:59off.
- 4:59>> Gouched. Yes.
- 5:00>> Just, you know, because you can kind of
- 5:02thing.
- 5:03>> And the because you can doesn't exist
- 5:04here any longer. People can gamble in
- 5:07something like 40 states now. You don't
- 5:08have to come to Vegas. We talk about
- 5:10this
- 5:10>> casinos everywhere
- 5:11>> all the time. It's uh it's a problem.
- 5:13>> They're going to need to figure that
- 5:14out.
- 5:15>> Yeah. I don't know. I mean, I hope
- 5:18>> How many times can it go down 11% before
- 5:20they finally say, "We need to change
- 5:21something here."
- 5:22>> Well, here's a fun fact. It can go down
- 5:2411% every month and never hit zero.
- 5:27>> True.
- 5:28>> Cuz mathematically, you know,
- 5:29>> Yeah. till they get to 1%. Yeah.
- 5:31>> And they'd be like, "Why are we open?"
- 5:33>> Yeah. Why are we here? So maybe it can
- 5:34go to zero and they close.
- 5:35>> I don't think it would get to 1%. I
- 5:37think it might get to 70.
- 5:39>> I I don't know. Like this might be
- 5:42>> I don't know what that number is.
- 5:43>> Some short-term pain for the local
- 5:45economy for maybe some long-term gain
- 5:48cuz maybe this is the thing that gets
- 5:52the big resorts,
- 5:53>> maybe some of that new stuff,
- 5:54>> the MGM and the Caesars, you know, the
- 5:56winds and the
- 5:58>> Venetians of the world to
- 6:00>> to change things a little bit. I always
- 6:02like to at least counter everything if I
- 6:04can because I don't we don't like to
- 6:05talk about negative things,
- 6:06>> right?
- 6:07>> In general if we can avoid them. I mean,
- 6:09but it is life. Life has got some
- 6:10negatives.
- 6:11>> Well, just based upon how bad that
- 6:14number is going down, they're blowing
- 6:16buildings up, Mike.
- 6:17>> Yeah.
- 6:18>> You know that they just uh imploded.
- 6:20>> Oh, I know.
- 6:21>> The canery east side canery.
- 6:23>> Toothpicks in my eyes right now. I got
- 6:25woken up at 2:00 in the morning.
- 6:26>> Crazy.
- 6:27>> It's so funny. I heard like
- 6:28>> It's not close to your house.
- 6:30>> Boom. And I'm like boom boom boom boom
- 6:32like like sequential.
- 6:34>> And then I heard like I I could hear the
- 6:36whole building.
- 6:36>> I think they're going to build a housing
- 6:38development there.
- 6:38>> It scared the living crap out of me. I
- 6:40didn't know what the heck it was going
- 6:41on. I woke up. I looked at the clock. It
- 6:43was 2:00 in the morning
- 6:45>> and I'm like this can't be anything
- 6:47major, you know, whatever. Like but like
- 6:48I I I tried to fall back to sleep and I
- 6:50couldn't fall back to sleep. So, I got
- 6:52up and like used the restroom and got my
- 6:53phone and I looked on Twitter
- 6:54>> and found it
- 6:55>> and and then I remember cuz our buddy uh
- 6:57John and Christina, buddies, Johnny and
- 6:59Christina from Vegas Advantage. Maybe
- 7:00they I'll ask them. I don't know if I
- 7:02can get the footage as quickly, but they
- 7:04were there. They rented a room and Yeah.
- 7:07And they and they had they were filming
- 7:08the building. So, I saw that they
- 7:11weren't in the building. Thank god they
- 7:12were okay.
- 7:14>> Oh, man. Yeah. We don't have to go to a
- 7:16funeral, right?
- 7:17>> Oh, man. I love those guys. Yeah. No,
- 7:19they were they were they checked into a
- 7:20building across the street and they got
- 7:22there early so they got the perfect
- 7:23view. And they're like kind of known now
- 7:25for filming implosions. Like that's
- 7:27their thing.
- 7:28>> Vegasadvantage.com. Go check them out.
- 7:31>> Uh again, I'll try to put a little clip
- 7:33in here, ask their permission, see if I
- 7:34can get a hold of them. We got a tight
- 7:36editing schedule, so I'm not sure we can
- 7:37get that done. All right.
- 7:38>> But yeah, out with the old
- 7:40>> I'm sure you can find it online.
- 7:41>> Well, it's there. But
- 7:42>> they're not the only people that videoed
- 7:43it, I bet.
- 7:44>> But I'm not going to use anyone's
- 7:44footage out there.
- 7:45>> No, I understand. I'm saying if we can't
- 7:47get it, you can find it.
- 7:48>> That's true. That is true. So, uh, but
- 7:50as I was saying, uh, out with the old,
- 7:52in with the new has some maybe some bad
- 7:55news, has some good news.
- 7:56>> That's right.
- 7:57>> Okay. Vegas visitation is dipping,
- 7:59>> but convention stuff is up. And we
- 8:02talked about this. We broke this story
- 8:03last week. We have more information.
- 8:06>> Uh, while January 2026, visitor volume
- 8:09dipped another 2.2%.
- 8:11Year-over-year.
- 8:13>> 13 months.
- 8:14>> 13 consecutive months.
- 8:15>> Wow.
- 8:16>> Dipping. It's not great. All of 2025,
- 8:20every month has been year over year,
- 8:21month over month,
- 8:23>> in the 26.
- 8:24>> In the 26, convention attendance, which
- 8:27is a huge part,
- 8:28>> huge
- 8:29>> of the Vegas economy.
- 8:30>> If you've never been to the convention
- 8:31area here, it's massive.
- 8:33>> We start I don't want to get off the
- 8:34same topic again, but the thing's so
- 8:36big, they built the Tesla loop
- 8:38originally underneath the convention
- 8:39center just to link them all together,
- 8:40>> just to get around.
- 8:41>> Just so people can get around quicker.
- 8:42That's how
- 8:43>> massive this complex is. 6.9% increase
- 8:47>> in attendees. That's pretty good.
- 8:49>> Which is pretty massive.
- 8:50>> The big conventions that are here um in
- 8:54January,
- 8:55>> CES, which you guys saw the new robots,
- 8:58>> right?
- 8:58>> Uh World of Concrete, which amazes me
- 9:00that it's so big. The Shot Show, which
- 9:02we've gone to before cuz we used to own
- 9:04a an e-commerce company that was
- 9:06involved those types of products.
- 9:08>> International Roofing Expo. I haven't
- 9:10been to that. That's your thing.
- 9:11>> I've been to that. My brother owns a
- 9:12roofing company.
- 9:13>> Yeah. out in Colorado. We've come for
- 9:15that convention and those guys are
- 9:17crazy, man. They're big drinkers, too.
- 9:19The roofers.
- 9:20>> Yeah.
- 9:20>> Jeez.
- 9:21>> They want to make sure that when they
- 9:22fall off the roof, they don't feel
- 9:23anything,
- 9:23>> I guess.
- 9:23>> So, you got to make sure you are. Or
- 9:25maybe you're celebrating not falling off
- 9:26the roof for another day. And that's why
- 9:28they drink when they get home.
- 9:29>> A lot of fun.
- 9:30>> A visitation overall last year. We did a
- 9:32story about this before, but just to
- 9:33reiterate, final numbers uh official now
- 9:3672% down. 7 and 12% down. So, 38.5
- 9:41million. Still a gigantic number. huge
- 9:43number.
- 9:43>> But in 2024, it was 41.6 million,
- 9:46>> right?
- 9:46>> So, you know, millions or less people
- 9:48came through the airport and visited
- 9:50Vegas
- 9:52>> last year.
- 9:52>> We barely even left town, so we're not a
- 9:54very big part of that number either.
- 9:55>> There's official headlines out, you
- 9:57know, the the uh CEOs, the executives,
- 10:00the big, the big that cut off the
- 10:02oxygen,
- 10:03>> right? We don't wear those.
- 10:04>> They they're optimistic about 2026
- 10:06turnaround.
- 10:06>> They always are. But I I feel like that
- 10:08they have to say that. So, I don't know
- 10:09that they put any any weight into those
- 10:11on that. Yeah.
- 10:12>> I I hope it turns around, like I said.
- 10:15But I also hope
- 10:16>> my my if I if I could,
- 10:19>> you we play mystery of the lamp. If I
- 10:20could rub the genie.
- 10:21>> Yeah. Yeah. Rub the
- 10:23>> and have a wish, I would say. I hope
- 10:24that
- 10:25>> it continues to get worse to a point
- 10:27where they make massive permanent
- 10:28changes to make things better
- 10:30>> for customers.
- 10:31>> Keyword
- 10:32>> and then everybody comes back.
- 10:33>> Right. Right.
- 10:35>> So, yeah, free parking.
- 10:37>> Let's start with that.
- 10:38>> There's a Let's start simple. There's a
- 10:41uh like a petition online to try to get
- 10:43free parking back in Vegas.
- 10:44>> I I don't know why they don't do it. I
- 10:46mean, I know it makes them money, but it
- 10:47also makes a lot of people not go down
- 10:49there. So, there's got to be a give and
- 10:51take.
- 10:51>> It irritates me going in and coming out.
- 10:54Have to wait in line. I have to go dig
- 10:55for my card and I get free parking at
- 10:57those places. It still irritates me,
- 10:59>> right?
- 11:00>> Freaking parking situation.
- 11:01>> Anyway,
- 11:02>> silliness. All right, we have to do an
- 11:04update on the wind cyber attack. We
- 11:06broke the story last week. Yes,
- 11:07>> there's now a lot more information about
- 11:10this. It was indeed all employee
- 11:12records. Yeah,
- 11:13>> this number blew my mind. I I don't
- 11:15understand.
- 11:15>> I didn't know they had that many people.
- 11:16>> This is a huge number.
- 11:17>> Employed
- 11:18>> 800,000 employees.
- 11:19>> Must be from day one that they still had
- 11:21their information in the computer.
- 11:22>> A lot of part- timerrs.
- 11:24>> Yeah,
- 11:24>> there's people who worked there maybe
- 11:26years ago that don't work there anymore.
- 11:27>> That too is what it's got to be.
- 11:29>> There's people who work internationally,
- 11:30so they got the Macau operation,
- 11:32>> right?
- 11:32>> Uh so the numbers starts to make more
- 11:34sense. you think about it's a 24/7
- 11:35operation
- 11:36>> and uh yeah people come and go
- 11:38>> right
- 11:39>> so all of a sudden the numbers but like
- 11:40we just first get that number it's big
- 11:42but they got you know social security
- 11:44numbers and a bunch of other sensitive
- 11:45data
- 11:47>> I mean
- 11:47>> it's probably somewhere near that
- 11:49>> I'm believing it cuz now there's
- 11:50lawsuits
- 11:50>> right right
- 11:51>> so the organization that takes credit
- 11:53for this is Shiny Hunters there is now
- 11:57>> out of the UK they said
- 11:58>> yeah uh well the story came out of the
- 12:02UK
- 12:02>> okay so that's not where they I doubt
- 12:04that they are there. They're usually in
- 12:06a in a jurisdiction where they can get
- 12:07away with this stuff.
- 12:09>> And I don't want to just cast
- 12:10dispersion,
- 12:10>> not be hunted down. The shiny hunters
- 12:12cannot be hunted down.
- 12:13>> There's some places in the world that
- 12:15are kind of known for this
- 12:17>> nonextradition type countries.
- 12:19>> Yeah. And yeah, unfortunately,
- 12:20>> right?
- 12:21>> Um they were asking the the numbers
- 12:23being confirmed now $1.5 million in
- 12:25Bitcoin. Uh but a former employee
- 12:27actually who's now turned federal class
- 12:29action lawsuit advocac
- 12:31Maynard uh filed a a lawsuit on February
- 12:3524th in US Dist uh court here in Vegas
- 12:38and alleges the wind was negligent in
- 12:40safeguarding employee data and failed to
- 12:42properly notify employees. claims that
- 12:44the wind violated the Federal Trade
- 12:45Commission Act by failing to use
- 12:47reasonable measures. Yeah. To protect
- 12:49the data and is now seeking uh $5
- 12:52million lawsuit. And that might get
- 12:53bigger as more people sign on to that.
- 12:56>> Uh and they're asking the court to adopt
- 12:59uh more reasonable measures from the win
- 13:02to protect against
- 13:04>> 800,000 people. So this happened in
- 13:08September of 25. And they're also saying
- 13:10that they didn't tell them in a timely
- 13:13manner, right,
- 13:14>> that this happened. Yeah. So the people
- 13:16couldn't even
- 13:16>> disclo
- 13:17>> Yeah. They were trying to squash it down
- 13:20without telling the people, "Hey, you
- 13:21might be in jeopardy. Maybe you should
- 13:23look into some type of company that can
- 13:25protect you. We'll take care of it." And
- 13:28then months later, they come out and
- 13:29say, "Well, now we have to pay them $1.5
- 13:32million in."
- 13:32>> I have stock of a company that protects.
- 13:34>> Do you really?
- 13:35>> Yeah. I don't want to mention the name
- 13:36right now, but it's it's probably the
- 13:38biggest one that it's a huge business.
- 13:41It's kind of saduge because
- 13:43>> I used to work for a company as as a
- 13:45director of IT
- 13:46>> and now this was
- 13:48>> Oh, it's possible.
- 13:48>> You know, 2004, so
- 13:50>> the cyber security risks were lower back
- 13:53then and things were not as
- 13:54sophisticated as now. But we spent six
- 13:56figures a year even way back then. Wow.
- 13:58>> On cyber security that would probably be
- 14:00closer to a million dollars or more. And
- 14:02this was a small business,
- 14:04>> but you know, just firewalls and other
- 14:06protections
- 14:07>> to protect against these people that are
- 14:08just trying to steal and and hold you
- 14:10hostage. It's just such an unfair
- 14:12>> Yeah. It's crazy.
- 14:13>> I can't believe that people can feel
- 14:16good waking up every morning making
- 14:17their living that way.
- 14:19>> Yeah.
- 14:19>> Just just not my thing. So,
- 14:21>> all right. On to the next story.
- 14:24>> All right. The next story is one of
- 14:25these ones where I had to blink three
- 14:26times cuz I thought maybe I was
- 14:28>> this is really happening.
- 14:29>> Yeah. Like bump bump. Is this uh really
- 14:312026? Mayweather versus Pacquiao. This
- 14:35story came in
- 14:36>> right as we were about to record last
- 14:38week's podcast. So, this is kind of
- 14:40almost a week old story now. But they're
- 14:42fighting again.
- 14:42>> These guys are old again. 49
- 14:46>> to be fighting
- 14:46>> and 47.
- 14:47>> I mean, they're younger than me.
- 14:49>> I'm about that age. I don't want to be
- 14:50in a fight anymore.
- 14:51>> You do not want
- 14:52>> I didn't want to be a fight when I was
- 14:5319,
- 14:54>> right?
- 14:54>> This is crazy. I mean, these guys are
- 14:56punching the living crap out of
- 14:57themselves as hard as they can. But
- 14:58there's a lot of money to be made.
- 15:00That's why they're doing it.
- 15:01>> Oh my lord. And guys, this is going to
- 15:03be at the Sphere.
- 15:04>> Yes.
- 15:04>> Look at this.
- 15:05>> The first ever boxing event at the
- 15:07Sphere.
- 15:08>> There was UFC.
- 15:08>> They've had, right? They've had other
- 15:10things there, but not professional
- 15:12boxing. So,
- 15:13>> this will be This is going to be on
- 15:14Netflix. It's included in all
- 15:16subscription plans. We might have to
- 15:18renew our Netflix.
- 15:19>> Well, we have it. You can come over and
- 15:20watch.
- 15:20>> I used to get Netflix for free with my
- 15:22mobile provider.
- 15:23>> You can come right over mobile providers
- 15:24and I no longer and we don't watch a lot
- 15:26of TV. Mike, you also didn't know that
- 15:28Mayweather was 50 and 0 with 27 KOs
- 15:31where Pacquiao's 62 and8 and
- 15:34>> everyone that's Filipino
- 15:37>> thinks Pacquiao's going to win. It's
- 15:39crazy when you talk to him.
- 15:40>> Mayweather's 50 and0.
- 15:42>> Yeah,
- 15:42>> he is older.
- 15:43>> So, I don't have to to look further in
- 15:44my notes to know that Mayweather won the
- 15:46last fight
- 15:47>> against him.
- 15:48>> He's 50 and0.
- 15:48>> Yeah. So, you know, look at the big
- 15:50brain I'm fighting. This is this is why
- 15:53you guys follow us cuz I'm so smart.
- 15:54They have been they've been anticipating
- 15:56this fight again because of the money.
- 15:58>> It all comes back to the money.
- 15:59>> Mayweather's a big gambler out here too
- 16:01in Vegas. So,
- 16:02>> I'm wondering if we're big enough by by
- 16:04September
- 16:05>> to get to go to this.
- 16:06>> Yeah. To like get a comp tickets to
- 16:07this.
- 16:08>> I don't know about that.
- 16:08>> September 19th, everybody come down and
- 16:11check it out. I'm sure it's going to be
- 16:12amazing. If we got seats, we'd be far
- 16:14enough back to that we'd be watching the
- 16:15screen and not the ring.
- 16:16>> I don't quite understand having a boxing
- 16:18match or UFC at the sphere,
- 16:19>> right?
- 16:20>> It doesn't make a lot of sense.
- 16:21>> You watch it on the screen.
- 16:22>> Yeah. Like no seat's a bad seat to watch
- 16:24on a screen, but no seats a bad seat in
- 16:26your living room to watch.
- 16:27>> Keep in mind, this is a professional
- 16:28bout. This is not an exhibition bout.
- 16:30This is literally a pro fight at these
- 16:34ages
- 16:36for this much money. Six is 600 million.
- 16:39Is it going to be the total purse?
- 16:40>> That was last time.
- 16:41>> That was so it's going to be more
- 16:42probably.
- 16:43>> Could you imagine? Probably a billion
- 16:44dollars. Insane potentially. It was the
- 16:46most anticipated boxing match in
- 16:48decades. I'm guessing like, you know,
- 16:50Holyfield or Sugar Leonard, you know,
- 16:53Tyson,
- 16:53>> uh, that Jake Paul guy.
- 16:55>> Oh, yeah.
- 16:56>> Yeah,
- 16:56>> something like that. Maybe. Maybe.
- 16:58>> That was a That was a joke. That was
- 17:00That was a joke. Tyson could have
- 17:01knocked him out
- 17:03>> at any time he wanted in that fight.
- 17:04>> I think so.
- 17:05>> But there was money involved.
- 17:06>> I think so.
- 17:07>> Yeah, definitely.
- 17:08>> Netflix has been aggressively entering
- 17:09the live sports market. They had the
- 17:11Jake Ball fight.
- 17:11>> Yeah.
- 17:12>> They had the NFL Christmas game, which
- 17:14was irritating because I wanted to watch
- 17:15that game and did it on Netflix.
- 17:17>> Right. Well, silly. Come over.
- 17:19>> I didn't want to come over. I was in my
- 17:21Christmas pajamas.
- 17:22>> Oh, well, you're welcome in your pajamas
- 17:24as long as it's not a birthday song.
- 17:25>> WWE Raw, which I I No offense to anybody
- 17:28out there. I have no interest in that.
- 17:29>> We don't watch a lot of wrestling.
- 17:30>> It's not my thing anymore. I did it when
- 17:32I was a kid.
- 17:32>> Yeah.
- 17:33>> Um but yeah, any rate, I'm I'm happy for
- 17:36Vegas to be getting that. It's uh
- 17:39>> pretty
- 17:39>> should bring a lot of people to to town
- 17:41to watch it.
- 17:42>> Yeah.
- 17:42>> Mayweather doesn't have to go far. He
- 17:44lives here.
- 17:44>> Oh, does he?
- 17:45>> Yeah. He lives out in uh southern No. Uh
- 17:49yeah, Southern Highlands.
- 17:50>> Okay.
- 17:50>> Yeah. Uh Kane did his yard.
- 17:52>> Is that right?
- 17:53>> Our landscaper that's in our poker
- 17:55league.
- 17:55>> Could you imagine that?
- 17:56>> Kane,
- 17:57>> he owns a landscape company. He did his
- 17:59yard.
- 17:59>> Where is a chain that's worth more than
- 18:01than I'm my entire net worth?
- 18:03>> Right.
- 18:03>> Can you imagine what the yard looks
- 18:05like?
- 18:05>> Right,
- 18:06>> man. So, speaking of the sphere,
- 18:08>> right? Straight into the next update.
- 18:09>> I I mentioned this last last week. Now,
- 18:12people probably think that I said it
- 18:14afterwards. We record these a few days
- 18:15before we publish them. But I'm like,
- 18:17there's no chance in in this world that
- 18:19they're not going to add more dates
- 18:20>> cuz this is what they this we've seen
- 18:22this trend that the sphere it's like,
- 18:23oh, by popular demand.
- 18:25>> When the tickets are $1,000 and they
- 18:27sell out in the first few minutes,
- 18:28>> my guess
- 18:29>> they add dates.
- 18:30>> There'll be even more shows coming,
- 18:31>> right?
- 18:31>> Uh but they did add
- 18:33>> another six shows. So they started with
- 18:35eight, they're at 14. The next dates are
- 18:37really spread out. They they go into
- 18:39next year. Uh and it looks like the
- 18:42Metallica is going to take off for for a
- 18:44while. Yeah. Like uh November, December.
- 18:46>> Yeah. They probably spend that time with
- 18:47family.
- 18:48>> Yeah, makes sense.
- 18:49>> But uh yeah, they'll be here in the next
- 18:51year. So, we're we're just going to
- 18:54>> wait. My you know, we've had good luck
- 18:56waiting at the last second trying to buy
- 18:57resale tickets. I've seen several shows
- 19:00here where the demand's very high. The
- 19:02Eagles demand super high.
- 19:04>> Uh Denon Company demand was incredibly
- 19:07high,
- 19:07>> right? Fish demand was incredibly high,
- 19:09but they only had three shows and they
- 19:10didn't add any.
- 19:11>> So, don't use that. But, uh, Backstreet
- 19:13Boys and some of these other shows, the
- 19:15demand was high and and then it starts
- 19:17to Wayne to some level. Depends on the
- 19:20>> depends on the band,
- 19:21>> right?
- 19:21>> But typically,
- 19:23>> and and I've been in this situation
- 19:25myself, so I understand. But what ends
- 19:27up happening is people that have the
- 19:28tickets in the last hour or two, it's a
- 19:31hot potato and they start to panic and
- 19:34the prices start to come down.
- 19:35>> Yes. And if there isn't any demand at
- 19:38that time is when you can get some
- 19:40really good deals. I mean, we we went to
- 19:41the very first night of a dent company
- 19:43show for 100 bucks.
- 19:45>> Yeah.
- 19:46>> Cuz the demand dropped so much.
- 19:48>> Panic. Panic
- 19:50>> and then it just, you know, then the
- 19:51word got out and that didn't happen as
- 19:53much anymore. We just got tickets for
- 19:54this thing that we're going to tonight.
- 19:55We'll put we'll put some footage of
- 19:57this. We're going to record it tonight.
- 19:58We'll have it next week. But I always
- 20:00get the name wrong. I think it's illumin
- 20:02I kept on want to say luminarium but
- 20:04it's like
- 20:05>> no
- 20:05>> aluminum alum
- 20:07>> it's aluminum
- 20:08>> it's it's going to get it all wrong
- 20:10we're going uh we got these tickets
- 20:12together eight seats together for 125
- 20:14bucks
- 20:15>> crazy
- 20:15>> last second so we're pretty d doesn't
- 20:18want people to know that you can get
- 20:19tickets at the last second don't tell
- 20:20them our secret that's what we're here
- 20:22for people the secret all right
- 20:25>> fun
- 20:27this one day this could be us one Hey,
- 20:31$5 spin $17 $107,000 jackpot, thousand,
- 20:35not dollars.
- 20:36>> Yeah. Well, I'm happy when that
- 20:37happened.
- 20:37>> $1,000.
- 20:38>> That's how I started. I would I am
- 20:42>> It was on
- 20:42>> This happened over at the Sun Coast.
- 20:44>> It was on a dragon cash.
- 20:45>> Yeah.
- 20:46>> Our favorite
- 20:46>> dragon cash. $5 all the time.
- 20:48>> So, it's like going to be on the high
- 20:49limit.
- 20:50>> Must have been in the high limit. Yeah.
- 20:51Five.
- 20:51>> Five hour spend. $17,000
- 20:53grand jackpot hit on Saturday, February
- 20:5621st. Uh that person had no interest in
- 20:59having their name out there.
- 21:00>> No.
- 21:01>> So
- 21:01>> neither did the other guy that hit six
- 21:03jackpots in one day for 206,000.
- 21:05>> Yeah.
- 21:06>> We don't know how much he was playing
- 21:07though. He might have been
- 21:08>> he might have been stuck 400,000.
- 21:09>> Congratulations, John Doe or Sudo.
- 21:12>> Yeah, whoever it was,
- 21:13>> we're uh we're happy for you,
- 21:15>> right?
- 21:16>> That's that's pretty freaking awesome.
- 21:18We had
- 21:19>> in real time of recording this yesterday
- 21:22a ball come back
- 21:24>> for one spin. It was in there on the
- 21:26final.
- 21:26>> It was
- 21:27>> I was like, "Oh my god, it's there." And
- 21:28then it just like
- 21:32>> true.
- 21:32>> So, [music] $107,000 jackpot.
- 21:35>> Unfortunately, we don't have any footage
- 21:36of this.
- 21:36>> Oh, wish we did.
- 21:37>> Cuz it wasn't us and we weren't there.
- 21:39>> One day, though. One day.
- 21:41>> Now, uh on the theme of big wins,
- 21:45>> which I love.
- 21:46>> $275 parlay. I don't know that I would
- 21:48have the guts to make a $275 parlay.
- 21:50>> Not a 10 teamer. My my 10 team parlays
- 21:53are
- 21:53>> 10 $5 $10 sometimes.
- 21:55>> Yeah, that's about it though.
- 21:56>> I do five as well.
- 21:57>> It's just I know I'm
- 22:00>> practically throwing money away cuz
- 22:01they're so hard to hit.
- 22:03>> Mike, I don't know if this number is
- 22:05even right. It says that a 10 team
- 22:07parlay odds are one in a thousand. I
- 22:09don't even believe that.
- 22:11>> I believe it's like one in a million. 10
- 22:14teams is so hard.
- 22:15>> It really depends on the bet. So you
- 22:16could be like you could be taking a team
- 22:18that's like favored by 14.
- 22:19>> Right. Right. you know, and and just
- 22:21doing the money line, right?
- 22:22>> And if that's you're doing 10 of those
- 22:24bets,
- 22:24>> but if you're betting
- 22:26straight up games with point spreads or
- 22:30trying to beat the book in a sense, I
- 22:32>> mean, this paid 2,000 one, right?
- 22:35>> 10 of them.
- 22:35>> Something in that range. Am I doing the
- 22:37math right on that? At
- 22:38>> No, it paid way more than Yeah. 275 pays
- 22:41513,000. So, it's something like 2 It's
- 22:44It's not exactly that, but it's Yeah.
- 22:46Three zeros and
- 22:47>> Okay.
- 22:48>> Yeah. 20,000 to1. 2,000 to1.
- 22:50>> Yeah, that's pretty nice odds.
- 22:52>> It's pretty good odds.
- 22:53>> So,
- 22:54>> half a million dollars for picking who's
- 22:57going to win some sporting games.
- 22:58>> NBA and NHL teams cuz that's what's
- 23:00going on right now this time of year.
- 23:02>> And it was done on the William Hill app,
- 23:05mobile app. So, it was someone that was
- 23:06here physically. They signed up the
- 23:07Palms at some point.
- 23:09>> Uh, and then the Palms just reported
- 23:11this on February 27th. So,
- 23:12>> crazy.
- 23:13>> It's uh
- 23:14>> they said it's a local They said it was
- 23:16a local.
- 23:16>> Okay. Yeah.
- 23:17>> Well, congratulations to them. local
- 23:18sports better
- 23:21to be in
- 23:22>> Nevada, right? You can't be outside.
- 23:24Okay. I see.
- 23:25>> Or in this situation.
- 23:26>> Yeah.
- 23:26>> You got to like the Nevada app, you have
- 23:28to physically be and it checks your
- 23:30location,
- 23:31>> right? Right.
- 23:31>> Then there's some of these other apps or
- 23:33it's all state by state,
- 23:35>> right?
- 23:35>> So, and they all have different rules
- 23:37and different lines. So,
- 23:38>> crazy.
- 23:38>> All right. This next story here, I don't
- 23:41know how to take this. I don't like
- 23:42seeing stuff like this
- 23:44>> cuz we're big music fans. We have not
- 23:46been to either one of these festivals.
- 23:47We had contemplated going to both of
- 23:50them,
- 23:50>> right?
- 23:50>> Uh but and this is maybe why I'm
- 23:53thinking it's possible they decided to
- 23:54cancel
- 23:54>> because we didn't go.
- 23:55>> Well, I don't think it was because us I
- 23:58know I know you think that we have a lot
- 23:59of pull, but
- 24:01>> it was us.
- 24:01>> I they they end up having these at the
- 24:04worst time of the year,
- 24:05>> right?
- 24:05>> Uh like two or three of the last years
- 24:08have been cancelled completely because
- 24:10of wind.
- 24:11>> Like the wind rolls through this time of
- 24:12year, it gets really really windy. It's
- 24:14an outdoor venue. Yeah. And I don't
- 24:16quite understand having a festival like
- 24:18this in an outdoor venue in Las Vegas.
- 24:20Like I understand EDC where it's in a in
- 24:22a stadium like that,
- 24:24>> but even there like it can be it can be
- 24:25a problem. But
- 24:26>> it's typically in a time of year where
- 24:28there's less wind, but these these
- 24:29festivals
- 24:30>> have scheduled during a year time of the
- 24:32year where it's just notorious to be
- 24:35windy. That's the seasons are changing
- 24:37and they know that. I don't quite get
- 24:39it, but When We Were Young and Best
- 24:41Friends Forever have officially decided
- 24:43to skip
- 24:44>> 2026.
- 24:45>> They say it's a, you know, a one-year
- 24:48hangover and they'll be back in 2027,
- 24:51>> but that could just be a polite way of
- 24:53saying
- 24:53>> we might not come.
- 24:54>> Peace out.
- 24:55>> Yeah.
- 24:55>> Bye, Leticia.
- 24:56>> Right. Could be
- 24:57>> Felicia. Not Leticia. Felicia.
- 24:59>> Leticia. Felicia. Whatever.
- 25:01>> Is there any other things that end with
- 25:02an A?
- 25:05>> It's a bunch of them. So these are uh
- 25:07you know some punk emo festivals. Uh
- 25:10>> it's another festival, the punk rock
- 25:12bowling they're taking out.
- 25:13>> The when we were young festival was the
- 25:15one that we were really looking at going
- 25:16last year was My Chemical Romance,
- 25:18Fallout Boy, they remember uh Blink 82
- 25:22and Panic. That was the one that we
- 25:23really wanted to go before.
- 25:26>> Uh and again, we were like, "Okay, we're
- 25:27going to you'll go next year. No big
- 25:29deal. We'll go next."
- 25:29>> It was two days back to back. They
- 25:30canceled it because of the wind.
- 25:32>> Yeah.
- 25:32>> And it's in a weird spot in town.
- 25:34>> Yeah. Yeah,
- 25:34>> that's up in the parking lot like north
- 25:36of
- 25:38>> uh
- 25:39>> near Sahara.
- 25:39>> Resorts World like right right across
- 25:41from Resorts World, but no, not quite
- 25:42Sahara.
- 25:43>> It's like in that lot.
- 25:45>> It's south of Flamingo.
- 25:47>> Well, one of them is downtown.
- 25:48>> South of Fontinlau.
- 25:50>> One of them is
- 25:51>> that's the other one. But the one I'm
- 25:52talking about is like it's south of
- 25:53Fontinlau, but like north of the wind.
- 25:56>> The Best Friends Forever was downtown.
- 25:58Okay.
- 25:58>> And downtown Event Center is being
- 26:00converted into a parking lot is what
- 26:01they're doing with that. Okay. But
- 26:03there's also a venue that's right at
- 26:04Sahara and Las Vegas Boulevard um by
- 26:07kind of by Stratosphere across from that
- 26:09Dragon Casino and Sahara
- 26:12>> massive. Um they've had they've had
- 26:14multiple
- 26:16>> concerts venue of shows that it would be
- 26:21a horrible spot. It's all open. There's
- 26:22no protection from any buildings.
- 26:25>> It's just the wind would tear through
- 26:27there. It pisses the locals off that
- 26:28live right there, too, cuz they can hear
- 26:29it all and it's just loud and traffic,
- 26:32obnoxious,
- 26:32>> right?
- 26:33>> You know, festival goers kind of get
- 26:34obnoxious. I' I've been there. You know,
- 26:36I'm not a hypocrite.
- 26:37>> There's always a lot of drinking.
- 26:38>> Yeah.
- 26:39>> Um,
- 26:40>> again, October. I don't know why the
- 26:42date maybe they can move the dates
- 26:44>> maybe
- 26:44>> where it's less windy month or just do
- 26:46it in an indoor venue. You got T-Mobile.
- 26:48>> What's wrong with having a festival at
- 26:49T-Mobile? Maybe they just charge
- 26:51>> too much.
- 26:51>> Way more. I don't know.
- 26:52>> Oh, I'm sure it's way more expensive
- 26:53than a parking lot. It is multi-day,
- 26:55[clears throat] but you can do
- 26:55multi-day. Like there's been multi-day
- 26:57basketball tournaments and other things.
- 26:58You got uh Grand Garden Arena,
- 27:00Mandandalay Bay. He's done festivals
- 27:02like this, right?
- 27:02>> There's other venues in town. They're,
- 27:04you know, I don't know.
- 27:05>> I'm guessing that UNLV is
- 27:07>> probably open to some dates. I mean,
- 27:10they Samboy, all these stadiums around
- 27:13town that
- 27:14>> Yeah. do it in a non basketball season
- 27:17dates.
- 27:17>> Thomas and Mac
- 27:18>> or an away stand.
- 27:19>> They would probably love to have someone
- 27:20come there,
- 27:20>> I'm sure. All right, we just got a
- 27:22couple more stories left. We're saving a
- 27:24big one for last.
- 27:25>> This is This is near and dear to my
- 27:26heart.
- 27:27>> Cadence
- 27:27>> Cadence Crossing. It's the old Joker's
- 27:29Wild. I've told you before, I've talked
- 27:31about it on the channel. Uh used to go
- 27:33out there. Whenever I needed a hundred
- 27:34bucks, I'd go and play blackjack. During
- 27:37co they got rid of all their live
- 27:38blackjack tables. They put in some
- 27:41digital craps, bubble craps, things like
- 27:43that. Um but I used to love going out to
- 27:46Joker's Wild. Kind of a hole in the wall
- 27:48little spot. I could always pull a
- 27:50hundred out of that place. It was so
- 27:51weird. But they're redoing it. It's
- 27:53going to be really nice when they
- 27:54finish. Cadence is a massive home
- 27:57development.
- 27:58>> Yeah.
- 27:59>> Uh Mrs. Dion has sold multiple houses
- 28:01out there. People that love it out
- 28:03there. And you're near Lake Las Vegas
- 28:05and Lake Me National Park. Yeah.
- 28:07>> Um really pretty out there. And it's
- 28:09only 15 20 minutes
- 28:1220 minutes from the strip. All highway
- 28:14all the way out there. Um we go out
- 28:16there. It's near the Klondike where we
- 28:18go once a week and play. Uh but the old
- 28:21Joker's Wild on Boulder Highway, it's
- 28:24gonna be it's getting it's getting a
- 28:25revamp.
- 28:26>> That Boulder Highway strip has the best
- 28:27return to player.
- 28:28>> Yeah.
- 28:29>> In the state. This has been well
- 28:30published. Uh so
- 28:32>> it is a Void Gaming property if you
- 28:34didn't know that. Uh huge in town here
- 28:36obviously.
- 28:36>> Void stations continue to do well. We've
- 28:38reported that and past episodes. So they
- 28:41now set out this late March date which
- 28:44seems like we're we're pretty close.
- 28:45They haven't still haven't given an
- 28:47official date that I know of yet. Uh, so
- 28:50you know, within the next couple of
- 28:50weeks, they're just going to open
- 28:51without, I guess, without much fanfare
- 28:54and and planning. Maybe they're just
- 28:56>> maybe they're waiting for like the the
- 28:57tablecloths or something.
- 28:58>> I'm wondering what the dining options
- 28:59are going to be there that it says here
- 29:01is that they had a cafe. I wonder if
- 29:04they're going to add a couple of other
- 29:05restaurants or what. 450 slot machines.
- 29:09It's not bad. It's not bad selection.
- 29:11Um, it's supposed to just be a lot
- 29:14nicer. It really wasn't. as Joker's
- 29:16Wild. It wasn't one of the properties
- 29:18that a lot of people would go and check
- 29:19out. Just wasn't. It wasn't the cleanest
- 29:21place.
- 29:22>> Yeah.
- 29:22>> If they're going to give it a spruce up
- 29:24and make it look better for all the
- 29:25people who live in Cadence.
- 29:26>> Yeah.
- 29:27>> It's going to be a lot nicer.
- 29:28>> And the people in in Lake Las Vegas, I
- 29:29mean, those are a lot of people casino
- 29:31to them
- 29:32>> cuz the one in in Lake Las Vegas, I
- 29:34think, is still closed.
- 29:34>> It's closed for sure.
- 29:36>> Um, so it's starting with a 10,000 ft
- 29:38renovation, 450 slot machines. It's
- 29:41going to be beautiful, I think. Plus, as
- 29:42Drian said, the dining options and I
- 29:44think similar to Ellis Island, this is a
- 29:46multi-phase approach. [music] They got
- 29:48approved for 50,000 ft of gaming uh
- 29:52space, which is 5x what they're opening.
- 29:54>> They do not have a hotel as of now, but
- 29:56I believe that's
- 29:57>> they're talking about adding a hotel,
- 29:58>> larger casino for possibly a hotel. It's
- 30:00right right there. And
- 30:02>> yeah, it's right there in black and
- 30:05>> Yeah. All right. So, we'll maybe go out
- 30:06there when they open, get some foot.
- 30:08That's what we do nowadays, guys. We
- 30:09just drive around town, try to get
- 30:10footage for you guys. Yeah.
- 30:12>> So, all right, final story. This one
- 30:14might take a few minutes to get through.
- 30:15It's a big story.
- 30:16>> This is crazy to me. I knew nothing
- 30:18about this.
- 30:19>> I said this a couple weeks ago. I was
- 30:20like,
- 30:21>> I just didn't understand.
- 30:22>> There was one thing that I I would bet
- 30:23on would be that Nevada Casinos would
- 30:25not be happy about what's happening here
- 30:27because there was the the story that
- 30:28came out about how much prediction
- 30:30markets
- 30:31>> had in bets,
- 30:32>> right,
- 30:33>> for the big game, the big the big game.
- 30:36We're in the sports book right now
- 30:38>> at a station's casino
- 30:40>> and they're not happy about this.
- 30:41>> No.
- 30:43>> So, for those of you not aware of what's
- 30:45going on here, there's these things
- 30:47called prediction markets that's just
- 30:49become the the the official name for
- 30:52these types of apps that exist.
- 30:54>> Okay.
- 30:54>> And it's a loophole. And I believe that
- 30:57this was created during the UGI, the uh
- 31:01unlawful gaming internet enforcement
- 31:03act, if I remember correctly. And I I
- 31:04could be off on this part of the story,
- 31:06so forgive me if I am. But when that law
- 31:08[music] got passed
- 31:10and kind of destroyed our livelihood cuz
- 31:12we were in online poker at the time,
- 31:13[music] really really frustrating. It
- 31:15opened up some loopholes at the time to
- 31:18allow certain things that cuz it kind of
- 31:20explicitly had some carveouts,
- 31:21>> right?
- 31:22>> And it's just so interesting to me like
- 31:23how hypocritical this stuff is because
- 31:25the guy that championed the bills like
- 31:27gambling tears at the fabric of society
- 31:29and social mores and you know all this
- 31:32terrible stuff. But horse racing, that's
- 31:35okay. You know, my my state has that.
- 31:38Lotteryies, that's okay.
- 31:40>> Daily fantasy sports,
- 31:42>> that's okay. And and I think that this
- 31:44loophole in this prediction market thing
- 31:46got created in there where there was
- 31:47like some there wasn't explicit language
- 31:48to say, but prediction markets can be
- 31:50okay. But there was language in there
- 31:52that made it like, well, holy crap, if
- 31:54like we call a spade a club or a diamond
- 31:58a heart,
- 31:59>> it's okay.
- 32:00>> It's going to be okay. So here we here
- 32:01we can do it. And so what is not allowed
- 32:04is online sports betting. Now obviously
- 32:07certain states have allowed this
- 32:08throughout the country but up until that
- 32:10that point online sports betting was
- 32:12like completely forbidden right
- 32:13>> and it was that was the thing that they
- 32:15would go after the most. Online poker
- 32:16was kind of a secondary thing but they
- 32:19really didn't want online sports books.
- 32:22And with an like the definition of an
- 32:23online sports book is [music]
- 32:25a host company or person or whatever is
- 32:29taking action from all these people on
- 32:32all these different bets and you're
- 32:34betting that
- 32:36>> that
- 32:36>> that entity
- 32:37>> company or
- 32:37>> right? So you look behind us in the
- 32:38sports book here. It's kind of blurred
- 32:40out cuz we do
- 32:41>> um the the cinematic mode and we don't
- 32:43want to show the lines cuz they don't
- 32:44like that. But let's just say
- 32:46>> you know the there's an NFL line of like
- 32:48the Chargers by 5 12US 110. would never.
- 32:52>> You're making that bet against Station
- 32:53Casinos,
- 32:54>> right?
- 32:54>> That's that's who's [music] taking that
- 32:56bet. Well, with these prediction
- 32:57markets, it's Mike and Ryan making that
- 33:00bet against each other, and the platform
- 33:03that facilitates that takes a fee for
- 33:05the money that's transacting on [music]
- 33:07their platform, but they're not taking
- 33:09the bet. I'm making a bet against you.
- 33:11And the prediction markets, it's
- 33:13actually the most pure.
- 33:14>> So, you go on their site, you go on
- 33:16their site and you say, I want to bet
- 33:17the Chargers for 100. And then I go on
- 33:20the site and the Chargers are playing
- 33:21the Bears and I say, "Well, I want to
- 33:23bet the Bears for 100." So it links us
- 33:25together and then that site takes $10 or
- 33:28whatever.
- 33:29>> The way that it actually kind of works
- 33:30is like there's so much there's it's
- 33:32hard to think about it on a single like
- 33:34just I'm trying to make it the easiest.
- 33:36Let me just kind of There's like there's
- 33:37so much so much action similar to the
- 33:40sports books here in Nevada. Like as
- 33:41more money is coming on this team, the
- 33:43line starts to move. Well, the same
- 33:44thing happens on this platform. So I
- 33:46might have to bet $100, but you only
- 33:47have to bet 60. Okay.
- 33:49>> And then the winner gets the the 160.
- 33:51>> Okay.
- 33:52>> Because you're you're betting the
- 33:54underdog and I'm getting the favor.
- 33:55>> Yeah. But if it's a sport that has lines
- 33:57like that that don't move like that. If
- 34:00it's just a straight bet or if you're
- 34:02betting the amount of money, the line
- 34:04might stay the same, but the amount of
- 34:06money the amount of money would move
- 34:07based on how many people are happening
- 34:09over here. And it's all in real time.
- 34:11And there's so many bets happening
- 34:12>> and that company doesn't pay out any of
- 34:14the money.
- 34:15>> That company just holds it. It's your
- 34:16money and my money
- 34:17>> from a technical standpoint,
- 34:18>> right? They hold on to it and then they
- 34:20just give it back.
- 34:21>> You have a a wallet with that,
- 34:22>> right? Minus the fee.
- 34:23>> Minus the fee.
- 34:24>> I get it. That's crazy.
- 34:26>> Yeah. And so,
- 34:27>> absolutely crazy.
- 34:27>> And it's not not just sports, but you
- 34:30can bet on an election. Who's going to
- 34:32win a election? Is it going to be
- 34:33Trumper uh Kamla? Is it going to be,
- 34:36>> you know, there's there's now it's
- 34:38getting to be election season now for
- 34:40senators, right?
- 34:40>> So, who's going to win that Senate race
- 34:42in Texas? But back to win that house
- 34:44race in the district 51 in California.
- 34:46You know, whatever it might be. It might
- 34:47be
- 34:47>> back in the day when I had a bookie
- 34:50>> long time ago.
- 34:52>> He took all the action.
- 34:53>> Right
- 34:54>> now he doesn't have any responsibility
- 34:56for having a bankroll to cover all that
- 34:58action. That's right.
- 34:59>> He just takes a cut. That's an insane
- 35:01way to
- 35:02>> That's a great business.
- 35:03>> Loophole the system.
- 35:04>> So Koshi, which is the biggest of the
- 35:06production market players right now, got
- 35:08some paperwork from the Nevada Gaming
- 35:09Control Board.
- 35:10>> Said we don't like you. We don't like
- 35:11you here. lawsuit filed February 18th
- 35:14and Nevada's arguing that couch sports
- 35:16event contracts constitute unlicensed
- 35:20wagering under state law which you know
- 35:22I would argue that too.
- 35:23>> I would too if they were taking all the
- 35:24money out of my
- 35:25>> pocket. I think they're going to I think
- 35:26they're going to be going on an uphill
- 35:28battle because again I believe and I
- 35:31this part I didn't of further research
- 35:33but I just going from uh memory that
- 35:36this carveout was made on this other
- 35:37federal law which is going to be like
- 35:39over top and and these guys were smart
- 35:41enough they're not going to go do all
- 35:42this without realizing and knowing that
- 35:44they aren't violating any laws.
- 35:46>> Well, they might actually just be doing
- 35:47it to try to get them to stop until
- 35:49there's an outcome and then they just
- 35:51drag it out for years and years.
- 35:52>> So that's called an injunction. That's
- 35:54what they're seeking right now. Right.
- 35:55>> I I don't I'm going to predict and I
- 35:57wonder if this is on the markets right
- 35:58now. I can
- 36:00>> I'm going to predict that they're not
- 36:01going to get the injunction.
- 36:02>> Maybe we can go on calcium and I'm
- 36:04saying I bet you I would bet you
- 36:06>> that we can bet it.
- 36:07>> We could do that. So that that's my
- 36:09guess. There's also another state uh I
- 36:11believe was Massachusetts. Let me just
- 36:12double check that here.
- 36:14>> Um that's in here somewhere. I'll let
- 36:16you read while I'm talking. But uh yeah,
- 36:18Massachusetts separately Massachusetts
- 36:19judge. They did issue an injunction
- 36:21against Cali on February 5th uh to take
- 36:24effect in 30 days, but they appealed it
- 36:27and uh and then they just they they held
- 36:29off the injunction until the appeals
- 36:31done. So no actual injunction. Um but
- 36:34the the complaints that Nevada is
- 36:37asserting is that there's no gaming
- 36:38license in Nevada. There's no physical
- 36:40location in Nevada. Pays uh no gaming
- 36:43taxes. That's the biggest thing
- 36:44obviously allows people under 21
- 36:47>> to make the bets cuz in certain
- 36:49jurisdictions you can do that
- 36:50>> and then there's no safeguards which may
- 36:53or may not be true. So
- 36:54>> I don't know I think that there's going
- 36:56to be some turbulence here again I
- 36:58predicted aha that this would happen.
- 37:00Yeah,
- 37:00>> cuz I just whenever this is the exact
- 37:03same thing that happened with the UIA
- 37:06>> even though these other companies that
- 37:08were operating
- 37:09>> in a legal jurisdiction in the Caribbean
- 37:12or in Iowa man or in India as a for
- 37:16instance or Israel
- 37:17>> um and we they were abiding by all the
- 37:19rules of the WTO the World Trade
- 37:21Organization
- 37:22>> the United States government really just
- 37:24had a bug up there because they weren't
- 37:25collecting taxes on it. Yes, they want
- 37:27their money.
- 37:27>> I didn't even know that they and it was
- 37:28the it was the first time that uh the
- 37:31World Trade Organization had ruled
- 37:33against the United States and the United
- 37:34States given the middle finger and said,
- 37:35"We don't care." Got
- 37:36>> like screw your ruling. Gotcha.
- 37:38>> Because they weren't collecting taxes.
- 37:39And it's really what it all comes down
- 37:40to.
- 37:41>> Nevada's not happy that they aren't
- 37:42collecting taxes. Obviously, like
- 37:44they're friendly to the casino operators
- 37:45because the casino operators are paying
- 37:46all these taxes.
- 37:47>> Yeah.
- 37:48>> Then there's all the other incillary
- 37:50taxes that happen because there's
- 37:52employees that also pay payroll taxes
- 37:54[music] and
- 37:54>> it's massive, you know, and then
- 37:57So, it's like this big halo effect that
- 37:59happens when people when a subset of
- 38:01taxes gets taken away
- 38:03>> and they're not happy. So, we'll see how
- 38:05this progresses,
- 38:07>> right?
- 38:07>> Obviously, if Nevada or Massachusetts
- 38:09ends up winning, this could have some
- 38:11big fallout from the rest of the
- 38:12country.
- 38:13>> Big fallout.
- 38:14>> And conversely, if Cali ends up winning,
- 38:18>> then this isn't going anywhere.
- 38:20>> And this is going to be a problem for
- 38:21the sports books and
- 38:22>> Yeah. and the numbers the the bottom
- 38:24line of the numbers that they make every
- 38:26year.
- 38:26>> Um I have not installed this app or the
- 38:29other ones on my phone.
- 38:29>> I don't need it.
- 38:30>> I I know better. I already have uh
- 38:32Stations and MGM Sports Book app on my
- 38:34phone. That's enough.
- 38:35>> I don't bet enough sports for it to be a
- 38:36problem,
- 38:37>> you know, and I want to make sure I get
- 38:38those valuable player points
- 38:39>> right
- 38:40>> when I'm betting on sports.
- 38:41>> That's right.
- 38:41>> So, you know, Cal,
- 38:43>> one day we'll get a dinner comp.
- 38:44>> Calcia doesn't let me get to the level
- 38:46to get free parking right
- 38:48>> at MGM properties, which is very, very
- 38:50important to me.
- 38:50>> It is. That's a lot of money. Parking is
- 38:53expensive.
- 38:53>> Supposedly, our car is now first up in
- 38:55valet.
- 38:55>> Oh, wow.
- 38:56>> So,
- 38:56>> Oh, that's nice.
- 38:57>> I'm going to wait less time than you cuz
- 38:58you bet on cow sheet for my car.
- 39:00>> That's right.
- 39:01>> All right, that pretty much wraps it up
- 39:02for this week. Miss DJ, any other she's
- 39:04got that. That's it.
- 39:05>> Like, that's enough. You guys have
- 39:06talked enough.
- 39:08>> She's like,
- 39:10>> we will we will uh be checking out the
- 39:12karaoke place at Ellis when they finish
- 39:14that up.
