- 1:54SPEAKER_04: So thank you for that, cousin Larry.
- 1:56SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:57SPEAKER_10: Um we gotta think cousin Larry for a lot of things.

- 2:06SPEAKER_10: Um and uh just his support of the podcast and the being the voice of the podcast, yeah.
- 2:12SPEAKER_10: We're indebted to cousin Larry.
- 2:13SPEAKER_04: He is, yeah.
- 2:14SPEAKER_04: He's like he's like the he's the wind beneath our sheets.
- 2:19SPEAKER_10: Yeah, that's one way to put it, I guess.
- 2:22SPEAKER_04: I was gonna say wings, but we don't have wings.
- 2:24SPEAKER_10: We do have sheets.
- 2:25SPEAKER_04: We do have sheets.
- 2:27SPEAKER_04: So you know, you gotta you gotta work with what you have.
- 2:30SPEAKER_10: This is true.
- 2:30SPEAKER_10: So this is true.
- 2:32SPEAKER_10: Uh so I'm on vacation.
- 2:34SPEAKER_10: Are you you're on vacation?
- 2:35SPEAKER_10: Well yeah, well, I mean you're you're retired anyway, but technically I'm involved with vacation all the time.
- 2:40SPEAKER_10: But you don't have to go to school this week.
- 2:41SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 2:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that was that's that's fun.
- 2:45SPEAKER_04: They had winter carnival Friday.
- 2:46SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 2:47SPEAKER_04: So there's really nothing going on.
- 2:48SPEAKER_04: Well, I spent the morning with the pre-K.
- 2:51SPEAKER_04: Um, one of them kept calling me Mr.
- 2:53SPEAKER_04: Dog.
- 2:55SPEAKER_10: Mr.
- 2:55SPEAKER_10: Dog?
- 2:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 2:56SPEAKER_10: Well, they call you Mr.
- 2:57SPEAKER_10: Doug anyway.
- 2:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so I was just like, well, okay, so you forgot the you, no big deal.
- 3:01SPEAKER_04: You're four.
- 3:02SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 3:02SPEAKER_04: I'll I'll let it go.
- 3:03SPEAKER_10: Let me ask you this.
- 3:05SPEAKER_10: So pre-K, maybe kindergarten, actually as far up as second grade sometimes.
- 3:11SPEAKER_10: Do they ever call you Mrs.
- 3:13SPEAKER_10: Doug?
- 3:13SPEAKER_10: No.
- 3:14SPEAKER_10: They call me Mrs.
- 3:15SPEAKER_10: Moser sometimes.
- 3:16SPEAKER_10: Really?
- 3:17SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 3:17SPEAKER_10: No.
- 3:18SPEAKER_10: Because they don't I don't know if they just don't kind of make the difference, you know, the because they're so used to saying Mrs., their teachers usually and they'll say Mrs.
- 3:26SPEAKER_10: Moser, and I'll I'll answer to it.
- 3:28SPEAKER_04: I was about to say it I can see it happening because there are no male teachers in the elementary at all.
- 3:34SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 3:35SPEAKER_04: So I get it.
- 3:36SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 3:36SPEAKER_04: So when I show up, I'm like, oh, a little testosterone on in here.
- 3:42SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 3:42SPEAKER_04: I think they sense it too.
- 3:45SPEAKER_04: Hey, what's that?
- 3:46SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 3:47SPEAKER_10: So Yeah.
- 3:48SPEAKER_10: So uh you've been doing anything fun on your vacation?
- 3:51SPEAKER_04: Well, I watched a cool movie over the weekend.
- 3:54SPEAKER_04: Uh and I hadn't never heard of it until I saw it on Amazon.
- 3:58SPEAKER_04: Nuremberg.
- 3:59SPEAKER_10: I've I haven't heard of the movie.
- 4:01SPEAKER_04: I've heard of Well, yeah, but it's got it's got Russell Crowe in it.
- 4:04SPEAKER_04: It's got Rami Malik in it.
- 4:06SPEAKER_04: It's got how old is this?
- 4:07SPEAKER_04: It just came out this year or late last year.
- 4:10SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 4:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 4:11SPEAKER_04: It's about the Nuremberg trials.
- 4:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:13SPEAKER_04: Uh Russell Crowe is Herman Goring.
- 4:15SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 4:16SPEAKER_04: And Rami Malik is the psychiatrist they bring in to find out why all these Nazi war criminals did what they did.
- 4:23SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 4:24SPEAKER_04: It's really good movie, but I never heard of it.
- 4:27SPEAKER_10: Yeah, see, that's the thing.
- 4:28SPEAKER_10: With with with the way the industry is, both music and film industry, uh, things just get made, and if they're not promoted, then until they show up and they're like, oh, let's watch this.
- 4:42SPEAKER_10: And then it was wow, that was really good.
- 4:44SPEAKER_04: It was really good.
- 4:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 4:46SPEAKER_04: It's hard to watch during the actual trial part because they actually put in footage that the Allies made of going into concentration camps.
- 4:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 4:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 4:56SPEAKER_04: That's actually in the movie.
- 4:57SPEAKER_04: Uh-huh.
- 4:58SPEAKER_04: I was like, Yeah, that's you've got to have a strong stomach.
- 5:00SPEAKER_10: That's rough.
- 5:01SPEAKER_04: It was rough to watch, but you gotta watch it because you can't let something like that happen.
- 5:06SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 5:07SPEAKER_10: So yeah.
- 5:08SPEAKER_04: But it was an excellent movie.
- 5:10SPEAKER_04: I highly recommend it.
- 5:11SPEAKER_10: So um what else?
- 5:14SPEAKER_10: Yeah, what uh well, I'll tell you what I've been doing.
- 5:16SPEAKER_10: Yesterday yesterday I uh well, we had um Eli's uh quarterfinal game on Saturday.
- 5:22SPEAKER_10: We actually had um tournament for Myra over the weekend.
- 5:27SPEAKER_10: She won her two games on Saturday.
- 5:29SPEAKER_10: Unfortunately, uh Eli's and Finn's varsity team uh fell short and and didn't make it past the quarterfinals, but they made it to the quarterfinals, and that's you know, that's a feat in and of itself.
- 5:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah, especially in that division.
- 5:40SPEAKER_10: So technically that would be Eli's last basketball game ever.
- 5:44SPEAKER_04: Well, he'll probably play in college, I imagine.
- 5:46SPEAKER_10: He won't.
- 5:46SPEAKER_10: Really?
- 5:47SPEAKER_10: He's not planning on it.
- 5:49SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 5:49SPEAKER_04: Well, he says that now.
- 5:51SPEAKER_10: I know, but still.
- 5:52SPEAKER_10: Um and Does he even know where you're going to college yet?
- 5:55SPEAKER_10: Well, he's leaning, he's got a he's uh been accepted to a bunch of places.
- 5:59SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 5:59SPEAKER_10: He's and he's uh he's leaning towards he's he hasn't made a decision yet.
- 6:04SPEAKER_10: But there's a college in Boston called Wentworth.
- 6:06SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah, I've heard of it.
- 6:07SPEAKER_10: Uh it's a good architecture school.
- 6:09SPEAKER_10: So he's uh or has a good architecture program, I should say.
- 6:12SPEAKER_10: And uh he's leaning towards that.
- 6:14SPEAKER_10: Now, whether that happens or not, I don't know.
- 6:16SPEAKER_10: And I'm not really pushing him either way, but we're supposed to go visit the school uh here pretty soon.
- 6:22SPEAKER_10: Um March is gonna be uh just a heck of a month for me because I have a music trip.
- 6:29SPEAKER_10: We're taking the band and chorus down to the state legislature.
- 6:33SPEAKER_10: Um we're going to the band is gonna play in the rotunda.
- 6:36SPEAKER_10: Oh, that's a good one.
- 6:36SPEAKER_10: And the chorus is going to play in on the floor of the legislative the chorus is going to sing the national anthem.
- 6:44SPEAKER_10: Oh.
- 6:44SPEAKER_10: Uh, and then we're also going to go to see the Empire Strikes Back in Portland with the Portland Symphony Orchestra.
- 6:51SPEAKER_10: Ooh.
- 6:51SPEAKER_10: Kind of like we did with the Bangor.
- 6:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:53SPEAKER_10: But it's the Empire Strikes Back.
- 6:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that'd be cool.
- 6:55SPEAKER_10: Uh so that's that's a uh in the middle of the month, that's of of March, that's a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.
- 7:02SPEAKER_04: That's a weird time.
- 7:03SPEAKER_10: It is.
- 7:04SPEAKER_10: Um, and then I come back on Wednesday.
- 7:06SPEAKER_10: Excuse me.
- 7:07SPEAKER_10: Come back on Wednesday and Thursday, and it's those are half days because it's parent-teacher conferences.
- 7:12SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 7:12SPEAKER_10: And then Met Friday is an is a uh in service, and then we're going to play up in Ashland.
- 7:18SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah, we're doing a skinny Alva's gift.
- 7:20SPEAKER_10: Yeah, exactly.
- 7:21SPEAKER_10: So uh and then the day after that we got the Syndicate Fundraiser.
- 7:26SPEAKER_10: Yes.
- 7:27SPEAKER_10: Um uh so yeah, it's uh March is gonna be a busy month.
- 7:30SPEAKER_10: And then I have a uh uh jazz choir uh concert the the next week.
- 7:37SPEAKER_10: So it's just I'm trying to is that in Ashland too?
- 7:41SPEAKER_10: Uh nope, that's a we have a we used we're getting in the weeds now, but um we used to do um when I first started there, we did a uh winter concert, a pops concert, and a spring concert.
- 7:54SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 7:54SPEAKER_10: And the Pops concert and the spring concert were pretty close together.
- 7:58SPEAKER_10: Um the the decision was made.
- 8:01SPEAKER_10: Uh I'm not gonna say I wasn't part of the decision, but I was low on the totem pole when it comes to the decision.
- 8:06SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 8:06SPEAKER_10: But um we got rid of the Pops concert and turned it into a jazz concert.
- 8:10SPEAKER_10: So it's a district concert where our seventh and eighth grade jazz band, high school jazz band, I think there's a s maybe a sixth grade jazz combo, I don't know.
- 8:22SPEAKER_10: And then my jazz choir, we all just perform.
- 8:25SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 8:26SPEAKER_10: So this it's like the jazz night.
- 8:27SPEAKER_04: Uh well saying because they're having one the week after well, next week, next Wednesday.
- 8:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:32SPEAKER_04: In Ashland, they're having a jazz concert.
- 8:35SPEAKER_10: Is that all state jazz, maybe?
- 8:37SPEAKER_04: No, I don't think so.
- 8:38SPEAKER_04: I think it's just stuff here.
- 8:40SPEAKER_04: So it's it's like a few I think Holt Holton's definitely coming because we uh it was John Brandon and I were setting it up once Friday.
- 8:49SPEAKER_10: It's it's district jazz.
- 8:50SPEAKER_10: Okay, that's what it's jazz.
- 8:52SPEAKER_10: I can't bring my choir to district jazz.
- 8:54SPEAKER_10: A, it's too late to sign up, but I didn't because we weren't ready.
- 8:57SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 8:58SPEAKER_10: Uh we just they're they're all the kids are I have a great group this year too, but they're all involved in everything.
- 9:03SPEAKER_04: Of course.
- 9:04SPEAKER_10: And they can't get together to rehearse.
- 9:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 9:06SPEAKER_10: So we've done it a few times, and we just aren't ready for districts, so I didn't take them.
- 9:11SPEAKER_10: So hopefully I don't get in trouble for that, but whatever.
- 9:13SPEAKER_10: They understand.
- 9:14SPEAKER_04: They're gonna be like, No, my the kids understand.
- 9:16SPEAKER_10: Where are those losers at?
- 9:17SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 9:18SPEAKER_10: So um scatten son of a bees.
- 9:21SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 9:21SPEAKER_10: Uh what else is going on?
- 9:22SPEAKER_10: Yeah, so so I cleaned a little bit yesterday.
- 9:26SPEAKER_10: Um today was kind of a I'm trying to uh compose a piece of music.
- 9:31SPEAKER_10: Um, but yeah, it's just laying low.
- 9:33SPEAKER_10: You know, for Did you feel the big earthquake last night?
- 9:35SPEAKER_10: I heard about it.
- 9:36SPEAKER_10: I I saw it on social media.
- 9:37SPEAKER_04: It's literally like maybe a mile from my house.
- 9:41SPEAKER_04: Was it really?
- 9:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 9:41SPEAKER_10: Did you feel it?
- 9:42SPEAKER_04: No, I was in town teaching.
- 9:44SPEAKER_10: Supposedly it was a magnitude 2.3.
- 9:46SPEAKER_10: 2.3, yeah.
- 9:47SPEAKER_10: 2.3.
- 9:47SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 9:48SPEAKER_10: In Bridgewater, Maine.
- 9:49SPEAKER_10: Yep.
- 9:50SPEAKER_10: Uh 7.30.
- 9:51SPEAKER_04: It was 655.
- 9:53SPEAKER_10: Was it?
- 9:53SPEAKER_10: I thought it said 7:30.
- 9:54SPEAKER_10: No.
- 9:54SPEAKER_10: But yeah.
- 9:55SPEAKER_10: Anyway.
- 9:56SPEAKER_04: Uh but did anybody did you talk to anybody that's yeah, uh I after class, I was looking on because I had a lodge meeting afterwards, and I was looking at my phone and I was like, my neighbor was like, there was was there an earthquake?
- 10:10SPEAKER_04: And then Tommy Cardiff, yeah, was there an earthquake?
- 10:13SPEAKER_04: I'm like, what the hell is happening?
- 10:14SPEAKER_04: You know, and as I so I'm going on the, you know, I'm looking up and I didn't see anything.
- 10:18SPEAKER_04: And then later, the National Weather Service of all things post the big thing, and I'll be true.
- 10:24SPEAKER_04: What the how's the weather station knowing we're having earthquakes?
- 10:29SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 10:29SPEAKER_04: But but their information came from the USGS.
- 10:32SPEAKER_10: So my so my daughter, my 11-year-old, who's you know, uh knows everything.
- 10:37SPEAKER_10: Uh I told her, I said, you know, there's an earthquake in Bridgewater.
- 10:40SPEAKER_10: No, no, there wasn't, Dad.
- 10:41SPEAKER_10: No, no, there wasn't.
- 10:43SPEAKER_10: Uh right here, it says right here, there was an earthquake.
- 10:45SPEAKER_10: No, there wasn't.
- 10:46SPEAKER_10: I'll be right back.
- 10:47SPEAKER_10: She goes to get her iPad.
- 10:48SPEAKER_10: She has an app, apparently.
- 10:50SPEAKER_10: The the seismology app or something for science class.
- 10:54SPEAKER_10: Sure.
- 10:54SPEAKER_10: I'll tell you if there was an earthquake.
- 10:55SPEAKER_10: And she opens it up, she goes, Oh, look, there was.
- 11:00SPEAKER_10: I said I was I wasn't lying to you.
- 11:02SPEAKER_10: Thanks, Smart Alex.
- 11:03SPEAKER_10: Yeah, exactly.
- 11:04SPEAKER_10: Um, I did go to Bull Moose.
- 11:07SPEAKER_10: Oh, nice.
- 11:09SPEAKER_10: Yes, I do.
- 11:09SPEAKER_10: That is my BB King's uh Blue Summit.
- 11:12SPEAKER_10: Blue Summit a hundred a hundred years.
- 11:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, look at that, man.
- 11:16SPEAKER_04: That's nice.
- 11:17SPEAKER_10: It's it's pretty sharp.
- 11:18SPEAKER_10: The the booklet is really nice too.
- 11:21SPEAKER_10: Two CD set.
- 11:22SPEAKER_10: I think there's like uh 20 songs on each CD or 18 songs on each CD.
- 11:26SPEAKER_10: It's uh it's pretty cool.
- 11:28SPEAKER_04: Well, you're gonna love it.
- 11:29SPEAKER_10: Yeah, this is awesome.
- 11:30SPEAKER_10: It is Joe Bonhoma put that together.
- 11:32SPEAKER_10: He said he he said that uh you know it would have been uh last year would have been BB King's hundredth birthday, and nobody's doing anything.
- 11:39SPEAKER_10: So I'm gonna do something.
- 11:40SPEAKER_10: So good for him for doing it, as far as I'm concerned.
- 11:43SPEAKER_04: Shaka Khan and Eric Clapton doing the thrill is gone.
- 11:46SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 11:46SPEAKER_10: Well, Eric Clapton just playing guitar.
- 11:48SPEAKER_10: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:49SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 11:49SPEAKER_04: But this is this is nice.
- 11:51SPEAKER_10: No, it is nice.
- 11:52SPEAKER_04: This is nice.
- 11:53SPEAKER_10: I just put it all into my iTunes the uh the other day.
- 11:56SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 11:57SPEAKER_10: Um, so yeah, that's what I've been doing.
- 12:00SPEAKER_10: And uh you know what I I'm I'm you say you got here tonight and you noticed there was nobody here, right?
- 12:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I was like pretty dead here.
- 12:07SPEAKER_10: Okay, so uh uh and I thank you for um getting me out of this.
- 12:13SPEAKER_10: Uh so tonight they were having a um Fat Tuesday uh party at church.
- 12:19SPEAKER_04: Oh, because tomorrow's Ash Wednesday.
- 12:21SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 12:22SPEAKER_10: So so it was Mass at six o'clock, and then after that, you know, my wife was gonna be flipping pancakes and their all kinds of other junk and just just lots of food.
- 12:33SPEAKER_10: And I was like, darn it.
- 12:35SPEAKER_10: I can't go.
- 12:38SPEAKER_10: Doug's coming.
- 12:39SPEAKER_10: I got stuff to do.
- 12:40SPEAKER_10: I have to do the podcast.
- 12:41SPEAKER_10: My wife's like, could you tell him to come at eight?
- 12:43SPEAKER_10: I'm like, that's pretty late, dear.
- 12:45SPEAKER_10: I'm not doing that.
- 12:46SPEAKER_04: Well, not like we're doing anything, but you know, yeah, yeah.
- 12:49SPEAKER_10: Exactly.
- 12:50SPEAKER_10: So I I really didn't want to nothing against the people that go.
- 12:54SPEAKER_10: It's just just loud and chaotic, and I don't really want to do that.
- 12:59SPEAKER_04: So well, people suck.
- 13:01SPEAKER_10: So I mean, you know, why would why would you want to hang out with people?
- 13:04SPEAKER_10: Those people don't suck, but I much prefer hanging out here.
- 13:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because this is nice.
- 13:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's quiet.
- 13:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there's nobody here, right?
- 13:12SPEAKER_04: Exactly, just you and I.
- 13:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:14SPEAKER_04: Just the two of us.
- 13:19SPEAKER_10: Oh, and I so here's the thing, and I and I need to tell you as well.
- 13:23SPEAKER_10: Uh, I did some digging.
- 13:25SPEAKER_10: You notice you probably haven't seen you haven't looked.
- 13:28SPEAKER_10: Uh see, where is it right there?
- 13:33SPEAKER_10: I found something.
- 13:34SPEAKER_04: Your Amazon tape player.
- 13:37SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 13:37SPEAKER_10: Uh I I have a bunch of cassettes over here.
- 13:40SPEAKER_10: I found something I want to share with you.
- 13:44SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 13:45SPEAKER_10: Okay, so first of all, I've been going through a bunch of cassettes of our old, I'll turn that down for a second.
- 13:51SPEAKER_10: Of our old j well, our old, my old, just like notes and songs and stuff.
- 13:57SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 13:58SPEAKER_10: From back in the mid-90s when I was first starting.
- 14:02SPEAKER_10: They suck.
- 14:05SPEAKER_10: I mean, we did a couple we I did a couple of cassettes that I involved you guys in, but I almost think it was like, oh yeah, no, this will be fun.
- 14:18SPEAKER_10: I'll I'll do this with with Brian and and and I'll sing on it and or I'll play on it.
- 14:24SPEAKER_10: And they were awful.
- 14:26SPEAKER_10: I mean, the the the Comic Crossing, this the second Comic Crossing, or is it Blake Street Boys?
- 14:32SPEAKER_10: It's probably Blake Street Boys back then.
- 14:34SPEAKER_10: Blake Street Boys was the first one, right?
- 14:36SPEAKER_10: And then it was Blake Street Boys.
- 14:38SPEAKER_10: Um Some Kind of Ride.
- 14:41SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 14:41SPEAKER_10: That album was terrible.
- 14:43SPEAKER_10: Not necessarily the songs, but the recording of those songs and the performance that we that I did.
- 14:49SPEAKER_04: Well, we had a drum machine and it's awful.
- 14:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's pretty bad.
- 14:53SPEAKER_10: And then the third one, uh, which had songs on it that I don't even remember writing.
- 14:59SPEAKER_10: Um anyway, I was just I was listening to it and I was like, what the hell uh business do I have writing songs?
- 15:05SPEAKER_10: Because they were just really, really bad.
- 15:08SPEAKER_10: Um, but I found something and I'm so glad that I found it.
- 15:14SPEAKER_10: And I'm gonna play it.
- 15:15SPEAKER_04: Well, you know, you say you're bad, but you know, if I had like a thing where I could insert like a sound clip right now, it'd be from Monty Python.
- 15:23SPEAKER_04: I'll call it better.
- 15:25SPEAKER_10: Well, no, and I know that.
- 15:27SPEAKER_10: I know that, you know my my for sure, for sure.
- 15:32SPEAKER_10: It's been what 30 years?
- 15:34SPEAKER_10: 30, 35 years.
- 15:35SPEAKER_10: Yeah, 30, 35 years.
- 15:36SPEAKER_10: So I know everybody's gonna start somewhere.
- 15:38SPEAKER_10: But it was embarrassing.
- 15:40SPEAKER_10: You know, I was listening to them by myself and I was embarrassed to listen to them.
- 15:45SPEAKER_10: Um anyway, this one I was not embarrassed to listen to.
- 15:49SPEAKER_10: Uh, I think I have the lyrics to it somewhere.
- 15:53SPEAKER_10: Um, but I finally found it.
- 15:55SPEAKER_10: So I'm gonna play it.
- 15:56SPEAKER_10: And this is you we've I think we've told the story of this on the podcast before.
- 16:10SPEAKER_04: Oh yes, finally.
- 16:15SPEAKER_04: Oh Stick, I forgot stick was in the should we tell the story first?
- 16:31SPEAKER_10: Because you can't you won't be able to hear all the words.
- 16:34SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 16:34SPEAKER_10: Let me let me let me let me uh uh so the story is this is when I uh I um bought an engagement ring for my wife.
- 16:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 16:42SPEAKER_10: And I think we have we've told the story before, have we?
- 16:44SPEAKER_10: I don't remember, but if we have, it's been a long time.
- 16:48SPEAKER_10: It's been a long time, yeah.
- 16:48SPEAKER_10: So anyway, Doug and I were going to uh a music store in Van Buren and on the way up I said, by the way, I I want to stop at a jewelry store on the way back.
- 16:56SPEAKER_10: Freem Frames Freem's Jewelry in Caribou.
- 16:59SPEAKER_10: And I said, I'm not gonna buy anything, I just want to price them out and you know, you know, see see what's what's there and whatnot.
- 17:07SPEAKER_10: So we went to Ezie's music and on the way back, just like we said, we stopped into Freemas Jewelry.
- 17:14SPEAKER_10: We walked in and got they're very cordial and made it clear that I'm not buying today.
- 17:19SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I'm just looking at it.
- 17:20SPEAKER_10: You said that several times.
- 17:21SPEAKER_10: Several times.
- 17:22SPEAKER_10: And I said, Oh, these are really nice over here.
- 17:24SPEAKER_10: I want to look at these.
- 17:25SPEAKER_10: He's like, Okay.
- 17:26SPEAKER_10: And so I found one.
- 17:27SPEAKER_10: I said, Oh, I like this one.
- 17:28SPEAKER_10: Can I can I see that one?
- 17:30SPEAKER_10: Excuse me, up close, and he's like, Oh yeah.
- 17:32SPEAKER_10: So he takes it out and he's like, Yeah, that's a beauty.
- 17:34SPEAKER_10: That's that's really nice.
- 17:36SPEAKER_10: And I said, Yeah, I'm I'm not buying today.
- 17:38SPEAKER_10: I'm just I just pricing them out and I'm just looking.
- 17:41SPEAKER_10: He's like, Yeah.
- 17:42SPEAKER_10: So should I wrap that for you?
- 17:44SPEAKER_10: And I said, Yes.
- 17:45SPEAKER_04: Yes, wrap that for me.
- 17:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 17:47SPEAKER_10: And you're standing.
- 17:49SPEAKER_04: I was standing there the whole time.
- 17:50SPEAKER_04: I'm watching this whole thing, and I was like, What just happened?
- 17:55SPEAKER_04: Mr.
- 17:56SPEAKER_04: I'm not buying anything.
- 17:58SPEAKER_04: All he said was, Should I wrap this for you?
- 18:00SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 18:02SPEAKER_04: I'm like, what what happened to not buying?
- 18:07SPEAKER_10: So from that point on, we called it the Jedi Jewelry Store because he used the Jedi Movie.
- 18:11SPEAKER_04: That dude is better in Yoda.
- 18:12SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 18:13SPEAKER_04: He he was just like, ah, you and this is this is the ring you're looking for.
- 18:18SPEAKER_04: You know?
- 18:18SPEAKER_10: And we actually kind of used that line in there.
- 18:20SPEAKER_10: So so I'll start this again.
- 18:22SPEAKER_10: Uh well, I'll I'll just start it where we left off.
- 18:24SPEAKER_10: It was a cold day in November.
- 18:26SPEAKER_10: November.
- 18:26SPEAKER_04: I do remember that.
- 19:15SPEAKER_10: It happens again.
- 20:00SPEAKER_10: Hold on.
- 20:01SPEAKER_10: Just in case you can't understand that, the world exploded like a death star in the sky.
- 20:05SPEAKER_10: For five years now, he's been asking himself why.
- 20:08SPEAKER_10: Why did he take that minor detour to the Jedi jewelry store?
- 20:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 20:13SPEAKER_04: I'm pretty sure we wrote this upstairs in the living room.
- 20:17SPEAKER_10: I played it for my wife when I found it.
- 20:19SPEAKER_10: I was like, oh, look what I found.
- 20:21SPEAKER_10: She was unimpressed.
- 20:22SPEAKER_10: But anyway, uh I said, you know, we recorded that right here in this living room.
- 20:26SPEAKER_10: And she's like, no, you didn't.
- 20:28SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 20:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yes.
- 20:30SPEAKER_10: Uh I remember that.
- 20:31SPEAKER_10: Right here.
- 20:31SPEAKER_10: Uh and it was like a it was like a Comma Crossing reunion.
- 20:35SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 20:35SPEAKER_10: Right?
- 20:36SPEAKER_10: Because Shane came up and and Stick came over, I guess, and and we were jamming, and then we wrote a song.
- 20:41SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 20:41SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 20:42SPEAKER_10: So anyway, uh let me go back to this.
- 22:22SPEAKER_10: I think this has to be like a bonus card if we do it if we do do another album.
- 22:27SPEAKER_10: Oh, yeah.
- 22:27SPEAKER_10: Right?
- 22:29SPEAKER_10: And the Maddie song.
- 23:28SPEAKER_10: I won't play 'em tonight, but I found a bunch of Shane Mountain recordings.
- 23:32SPEAKER_10: Oh right.
- 23:33SPEAKER_10: Yeah, so songs that he wrote.
- 23:35SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 23:36SPEAKER_10: So and ones that I don't think we remember.
- 23:39SPEAKER_10: So I think we could go through that too.
- 23:40SPEAKER_10: Yeah, and kind of piecemeals and stuff.
- 23:43SPEAKER_10: Yep.
- 23:43SPEAKER_10: So that'd be kind of neat.
- 23:44SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 23:44SPEAKER_10: Uh but isn't that cool?
- 23:46SPEAKER_10: That's awesome, man.
- 23:46SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I just I want to make sure I take it out so that well, actually, I don't want to take it out, but I don't I'm gonna do this because I don't want to push record.
- 23:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but that's you gotta pop the tabs out of that one.
- 23:56SPEAKER_10: Yeah, exactly.
- 23:57SPEAKER_10: Yeah, because I don't want to I don't want to lose that.
- 24:00SPEAKER_10: We can't lose it, that's history.
- 24:02SPEAKER_10: I don't even remember the chord changes.
- 24:04SPEAKER_10: It was kind of a neat chord chord proportion.
- 24:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was a very western, like a very uh you know especially at the beginning.
- 24:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you know, so I liked it.
- 24:11SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 24:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that was a that was a fun day.
- 24:13SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it was a fun day.
- 24:14SPEAKER_10: I'm excited to uh to um actually try and flesh it out and play it again.
- 24:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 24:19SPEAKER_10: It'd be nice.
- 24:20SPEAKER_04: I'll have to look at it I think I think we should and put it in the acoustic set.
- 24:23SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 24:24SPEAKER_04: That'd be fun.
- 24:24SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah, like the like you when you want to play?
- 24:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 24:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we should.
- 24:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it'd be fun.
- 24:29SPEAKER_04: Just it'd be a nice little do it for us.
- 24:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, do a little segue, you know.
- 24:32SPEAKER_04: Do you remember Frames, Jewelry, and Cable?
- 24:34SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, I remember Frame's Jewelry.
- 24:36SPEAKER_04: Well, this is a store, a song about that store.
- 24:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 24:39SPEAKER_07: It's called The Jedi Jedi.
- 24:40SPEAKER_07: It's owned by Jedi.
- 24:43SPEAKER_07: Yeah, no, that would be kinda nice.
- 24:45SPEAKER_07: Kind of kinda neat.
- 24:46SPEAKER_10: Um I was gonna do the um March music releases.
- 24:54SPEAKER_10: There are a couple of new ones.
- 24:56SPEAKER_10: Um you know what, maybe I'll just do the new ones.
- 24:59SPEAKER_10: Because uh I don't want to do that because I know we just did that not too.
- 25:02SPEAKER_04: We just did it a couple weeks ago.
- 25:03SPEAKER_10: Yeah, we just did it not too long ago.
- 25:05SPEAKER_04: But I do want to mention for 15.
- 25:07SPEAKER_04: What was that for sale for?
- 25:09SPEAKER_10: Uh it was five and get one free.
- 25:12SPEAKER_04: Was it a truck?
- 25:13SPEAKER_04: I don't remember.
- 25:15SPEAKER_04: I don't think it was a truck.
- 25:17SPEAKER_04: I don't think it was a truck.
- 25:19SPEAKER_10: Um there it is.
- 25:22SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 25:22SPEAKER_10: Let me just do a couple of these that are maybe new that we didn't talk about.

- 26:11SPEAKER_11: She sings those melodies.
- 26:13SPEAKER_11: I'm sure that you may know them.

- 26:22SPEAKER_11: She's just the one for having fun.
- 26:28SPEAKER_11: You get the feeling, you know you might be dreaming.
- 26:33SPEAKER_11: Nobody is leaving.
- 26:35SPEAKER_11: Whisper in my ear.

- 27:11SPEAKER_10: Anyway, this might be true.
- 27:13SPEAKER_10: I guess it's kind of representative of Squeeze's music, but not really.
- 27:16SPEAKER_04: No, really, no.
- 27:19SPEAKER_10: I mean, it's it's nice.
- 27:21SPEAKER_04: They are older gentlemen now.

- 31:23SPEAKER_10: It comes out in April or May.
- 31:25SPEAKER_10: I'm not really sure which one.
- 31:26SPEAKER_10: But I'm a little gun shy because the first album.

- 32:04SPEAKER_10: Well, no, no, I get that.
- 32:05SPEAKER_10: I get that.
- 32:06SPEAKER_10: But already I like this.

- 32:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 32:20SPEAKER_04: He looks like Thomas Jefferson with that haircut and that white hair.
- 32:38SPEAKER_10: It's good stuff.
- 32:41SPEAKER_04: I love Steve Perone because he's one of the few modern drummers that still plays traditional uh you know, jazz style.
- 32:49SPEAKER_10: He's in the pocket too.
- 32:50SPEAKER_04: I mean, that dude is that dude is he he should be better known than he is.
- 32:55SPEAKER_10: Oh, I agree.
- 32:56SPEAKER_04: He should be like up there with Neil Peart and all them.
- 32:59SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 33:00SPEAKER_04: You know, in the in the Amount Olympus of drummers.
- 33:02SPEAKER_10: Yep.

- 33:05SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 33:06SPEAKER_04: Oh, they got an audience.
- 33:08SPEAKER_04: Looks like they're playing at like a high school reunion.
- 33:11SPEAKER_10: Looks like it, doesn't it?
- 33:12SPEAKER_04: They're like remember when Jason got drunk in the bathroom after prom?
- 33:18SPEAKER_05: Ha ha! Now he's playing it! But I I just like that.
- 33:22SPEAKER_05: This is a good song.
- 33:23SPEAKER_05: These are all older guys.
- 33:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 33:25SPEAKER_07: Making the music that they've they love.
- 33:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and you know, later he's gonna go write the declaration in the stuff, man.
- 33:45SPEAKER_10: Anyway, that's good.
- 33:46SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I like it.
- 33:47SPEAKER_10: This is called Montana Sky Generation Radio.
- 33:50SPEAKER_10: And again, that comes out in April or or May.
- 33:54SPEAKER_10: It says April and Beyond.
- 33:56SPEAKER_10: So Sweet.
- 33:56SPEAKER_04: Um that's gonna be good.
- 33:58SPEAKER_04: I like like I said, I like the uh the first one pretty well.
- 34:00SPEAKER_10: Uh have you heard uh Michael Sweet's new song?
- 34:03SPEAKER_07: I have not.
- 34:04SPEAKER_07: You have not.
- 34:06SPEAKER_10: Uh it uh has made such an impact that Timothy Gaines, who had a falling out, yeah, Michael Sweet, uh posted something about uh the song and that although it may not I'm not I'm paraphrasing, I'm not gonna do it justice, but he he basically said that this may not mend a relationship, but uh this is powerful and basically he was praising the song.
- 34:35SPEAKER_10: Uh the song, and it's from a solo album.
- 34:40SPEAKER_04: He's coming out with one, or he already I think it's coming out.
- 34:43SPEAKER_10: Uh this is called Lord, and I'm gonna do it.
- 36:11SPEAKER_04: So it doesn't sound like striper, but it doesn't sound far from striper, meaning it's it's it's melodic, it's got the big chorus, but it just doesn't have that if you had the crunch, it it doesn't have that heavy metal right, you know.
- 36:23SPEAKER_10: Uh he's a pro prolific writer, dude.
- 36:27SPEAKER_04: He really is.
- 36:27SPEAKER_04: I mean, musically, lyrically, I mean the dude is good, man.
- 36:31SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 36:32SPEAKER_10: But I mean, he's always putting stuff out.
- 36:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's he's constantly doing something.
- 36:37SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 36:37SPEAKER_04: You know, even when Stryper's not doing something, he's always doing something, you know?
- 36:41SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 36:41SPEAKER_10: So anyway.
- 36:43SPEAKER_10: That's good.
- 36:44SPEAKER_10: I like this.
- 36:45SPEAKER_10: Yeah, no, it is cool.
- 36:46SPEAKER_10: It is cool.
- 36:47SPEAKER_10: It's called Lord from Michael Sweet of Striper from his solo album.
- 36:51SPEAKER_10: I wish I could tell you if that's out or when it's coming.
- 36:54SPEAKER_10: It's on Frontiers.
- 36:56SPEAKER_04: Uh I have like I said, I you know, I keep pretty close tab on Stryper and I haven't heard anything yet.
- 37:01SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I think he's been just releasing or he's just released a single, so we should hear soon when when the whole album comes out.
- 37:08SPEAKER_10: So anyway, um, that's new music for you for uh at least a little while.
- 37:13SPEAKER_10: Uh let's go back to our listener mail because we had Bob we had talked uh about mail bouncing Bob uh gave us a challenge and we've done it the past few episodes, past few podcasts, uh where uh Bob poses a couple of covers and you know which one was better.
- 37:34SPEAKER_10: Or actually, which was better than the original or a cover.
- 37:37SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 37:37SPEAKER_10: Right?
- 37:38SPEAKER_10: So uh we left off uh on the last one we we left off with Band on the Run from the Foo Fighters and Paul McCartney, and that was a toss-up because the Food Fighters version was pretty good.
- 37:50SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 37:51SPEAKER_10: Uh so I'm not gonna play this one because I think these are pretty popular.
- 37:56SPEAKER_10: Uh but Bob Dylan's knocking on Heaven's Door and G and R's Knocking on Heaven's Door.
- 38:02SPEAKER_10: I mean, which I like 'em both.
- 38:04SPEAKER_10: Uh same, but I mean, if you had to pick.
- 38:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they are.
- 38:12SPEAKER_04: I mean, they are, essentially.
- 38:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 38:14SPEAKER_04: But I don't know.
- 38:15SPEAKER_04: I think I prefer Dylan's.
- 38:17SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 38:18SPEAKER_10: So surprisingly, I think I do too.
- 38:20SPEAKER_10: I mean, I love I love the guitar.
- 38:22SPEAKER_04: I mean, I love I love the the GNR version, but yeah.
- 38:24SPEAKER_04: I mean, I I I would I'd have to give the edge to uh Dylan.
- 38:28SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I I I think I'm with you on that one.
- 38:30SPEAKER_10: Uh shocking blue, Venus, and banana rama.
- 38:37SPEAKER_10: I almost go Banana Rama too.
- 38:38SPEAKER_10: I'm gonna go Banana Rama.
- 38:40SPEAKER_10: Just because they're hot.
- 38:41SPEAKER_04: That that that was gonna be my criteria too.
- 38:43SPEAKER_04: Um it's like hey, Susanna, Susanna Hoff's did a uh cover of uh, you know, gin and juice.
- 38:52SPEAKER_04: Which one are you gonna go with?
- 38:53SPEAKER_04: Snoop Dogg or Susanna Hogg.
- 38:54SPEAKER_04: Susanna Hoff.
- 38:55SPEAKER_04: Susanna Hoffs.
- 38:56SPEAKER_04: Come on.
- 38:57SPEAKER_04: She doesn't even have to sing.
- 38:58SPEAKER_10: Yeah, she's just thinner.
- 38:59SPEAKER_10: I was like, winner.
- 39:00SPEAKER_10: Um Shocking Blue, the original version of Venus was the first record Bob ever bought.
- 39:07SPEAKER_10: That's what he put in here, yeah.
- 39:09SPEAKER_10: Uh Run DMC Walk This Way and Aerosmith walked this way.
- 39:13SPEAKER_04: There really isn't much difference between the two.
- 39:15SPEAKER_04: No, it's just just it's just the rapture.
- 39:17SPEAKER_04: In delivery.
- 39:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:18SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 39:19SPEAKER_04: Um but I do, I I give the edge to Run DMC.
- 39:22SPEAKER_10: I see, I'm the opposite.
- 39:23SPEAKER_10: I give the edge to the DMC.
- 39:25SPEAKER_10: Which is okay.
- 39:26SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 39:26SPEAKER_10: Crimson and Clover, Tommy James and the Shandells, and Joan Jett and the Black Cards.
- 39:30SPEAKER_10: I gotta go Tommy James.
- 39:32SPEAKER_10: Tommy James, yeah.
- 39:32SPEAKER_10: Yep.
- 39:32SPEAKER_10: I gotta go Tommy James.
- 39:33SPEAKER_04: I mean, nothing wrong with the Joan Jett.
- 39:34SPEAKER_04: No, no, no.
- 39:35SPEAKER_04: It's pretty good.
- 39:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:36SPEAKER_04: But uh yeah, Tommy James.
- 39:37SPEAKER_10: Do you want to keep going?
- 39:38SPEAKER_10: Because that finished out that one.
- 39:40SPEAKER_10: Yeah, let's let's save those.
- 39:41SPEAKER_10: Let's see.
- 39:41SPEAKER_10: One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine.
- 39:47SPEAKER_10: There's nine more.
- 39:48SPEAKER_10: Yeah, let's let's do that.
- 39:49SPEAKER_10: You want to do a couple more?
- 39:50SPEAKER_08: Let's just do one more.
- 39:51SPEAKER_10: Let's do one more.
- 39:52SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 39:52SPEAKER_10: Well, this is this is pretty easy too.
- 39:55SPEAKER_10: Uh speaking of Tommy James and the Shondells.
- 39:57SPEAKER_10: Uh Moni Moni.
- 39:59SPEAKER_04: Money Money.
- 40:00SPEAKER_10: Billy Idol.
- 40:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Billy Idol.
- 40:01SPEAKER_10: You're gonna go Billy Idol?
- 40:02SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 40:03SPEAKER_10: I like that one.
- 40:03SPEAKER_10: I think the w he made it his own, didn't he?
- 40:05SPEAKER_04: He really did.
- 40:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 40:06SPEAKER_04: I think that's why I like it.
- 40:07SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 40:08SPEAKER_10: So I like the original too, but um, yeah, Billy Idol.
- 40:11SPEAKER_04: I prefer the Billy Idol one.
- 40:12SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I think I do too.
- 40:14SPEAKER_10: You know what song that I, now that we're talking about Billy Idol, that I forgot forgot about and loved when it came out.
- 40:26SPEAKER_10: Um, and I think a lot of it is nostalgic because I was on the radio in um I think I was on the radio in Big Bangor on the station down there, Fox 104.7, when the song came.
- 40:39SPEAKER_10: I think I was.
- 40:40SPEAKER_10: Maybe it was before that.
- 40:42SPEAKER_10: Uh let's see.
- 40:44SPEAKER_10: But I just remember, and also I think isn't the the isn't the girl in this video like underage?
- 40:55SPEAKER_10: I'm pretty sure.
- 40:56SPEAKER_10: Um see if you remember this song.
- 41:00SPEAKER_10: Where were you?
- 41:01SPEAKER_10: Were you in the Marines when this song came out?
- 41:03SPEAKER_10: Yep.
- 41:03SPEAKER_10: If you were in school, I was in the Marines.
- 41:06SPEAKER_10: I bet you remember it though.
- 41:07SPEAKER_04: I doubt it.
- 41:09SPEAKER_10: This was a great video, and you used to like watch the video and be like, wow, she's really cute, and then come to find out she was underage.
- 41:21SPEAKER_10: You don't remember this video?
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: Hi, my name is Devin.
- 41:25SPEAKER_00: My mom lives down the hall at Rosario's birthday.
- 41:28SPEAKER_10: And that could be just a rumor, too, that she was underage.
- 41:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's hard to tell.
- 41:32SPEAKER_00: Woo!
- 41:33SPEAKER_10: Sure.
- 41:36SPEAKER_10: I guess I didn't have to play the whole video.
- 41:38SPEAKER_10: I just I wanted the song.
- 41:40SPEAKER_04: Well, you just wanted to see the girl.
- 41:41SPEAKER_04: Can I help you with that?
- 41:43SPEAKER_10: No, I didn't.
- 41:44SPEAKER_06: No.
- 41:46SPEAKER_10: No, now that I know that she it's possible that she was underage, I don't want to see the girl.
- 41:51SPEAKER_10: I'm not gonna play, I'm not gonna play the whole video.
- 41:53SPEAKER_10: I just want to see if you remember the song.
- 41:56SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 41:59SPEAKER_04: When did this come out?
- 42:00SPEAKER_10: Hold on.
- 42:06SPEAKER_08: Let's see.
- 42:11SPEAKER_10: This came out in 90.
- 42:12SPEAKER_10: Yeah, sounds about right.
- 42:13SPEAKER_10: So you were graduating and going to the Marines, yeah.
- 42:16SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 42:17SPEAKER_10: Uh but you remember the songs.
- 42:20SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 42:21SPEAKER_04: I remember the video too.
- 42:23SPEAKER_10: Do you?
- 42:23SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 42:26SPEAKER_10: Anyway, um, I I f just because we talked about Billy Idol and I have, you know, ADD ADHD.
- 42:33SPEAKER_10: So um exactly.
- 42:35SPEAKER_10: I I remember that song, and that song brings me back to being on the air.
- 42:40SPEAKER_10: Uh I guess it wasn't in Bangor, because if it well, it might have because I was in on the air in Bangor in '92.
- 42:47SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, you're probably still playing it.
- 42:49SPEAKER_10: I mean That's what I mean.
- 42:50SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 42:50SPEAKER_10: But I remember doing like the overnight shift or something and playing that song all the time.
- 42:55SPEAKER_10: Um so anyway.
- 42:57SPEAKER_10: Uh let's do.
- 43:00SPEAKER_07: Do you want to do this?
- 43:01SPEAKER_07: Yeah, man.
- 43:02SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 43:02SPEAKER_07: Yeah, man.
- 43:05SPEAKER_07: Let's uh fire this puppy up and we'll let's do Poorly Explained Movies.
- 43:17SPEAKER_10: Yay! 80s edition.
- 43:19SPEAKER_10: I'm gonna pick four.
- 43:20SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 43:21SPEAKER_10: Pick three that I think you'll get and one that I think you won't.
- 43:24SPEAKER_10: So let's see.
- 43:28SPEAKER_10: Uh I don't think you'll get that one.
- 43:30SPEAKER_10: I could be wrong.
- 43:32SPEAKER_10: You surprised me before.
- 43:34SPEAKER_10: We've already done that one.
- 43:37SPEAKER_10: We haven't done that one.
- 43:39SPEAKER_10: I think you'll get it.
- 43:42SPEAKER_10: I think you'll I know you'll get that one.
- 43:52SPEAKER_07: Let's see.
- 44:02SPEAKER_07: Well, I'm gonna go out on a limb.
- 44:08SPEAKER_10: Yeah, no, I'm gonna do that one.
- 44:10SPEAKER_10: Because I think I think you'll you'll get these ones.
- 44:15SPEAKER_10: Like my 80s.
- 44:16SPEAKER_10: 80s music in the background.
- 44:19SPEAKER_10: Alright.
- 44:20SPEAKER_10: Awesome! Here are the ones that I think you will get.
- 44:23SPEAKER_09: Alright.
- 44:25SPEAKER_10: Alright.
- 44:26SPEAKER_10: Here is the poorly exp poor explanation.
- 44:31SPEAKER_10: A foreign man steps on a bunch of people in the subway.
- 44:43SPEAKER_10: Need a hint?
- 44:44SPEAKER_10: Mm-hmm.
- 44:45SPEAKER_10: He has a big knife.
- 44:47SPEAKER_04: Oh, crocodile dundee.
- 44:50SPEAKER_10: 1986.
- 44:52SPEAKER_04: It's not a knife.
- 44:54SPEAKER_05: That's a knife.
- 44:54SPEAKER_04: That's a knife.
- 44:57SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 44:59SPEAKER_04: I forgot about him stepping on the people in the subway.
- 45:01SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 45:02SPEAKER_10: Um, forgive me for my cough.
- 45:04SPEAKER_10: I I just have that still have that tickle every once in a while.
- 45:07SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 45:08SPEAKER_10: Alright.
- 45:09SPEAKER_10: Um.
- 45:10SPEAKER_10: Here is the poor explanation.
- 45:13SPEAKER_10: A police officer scores a couple of free bananas.
- 45:19SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 45:19SPEAKER_04: Beverly Hills cop.
- 45:21SPEAKER_10: I knew you would get that one as well.
- 45:24SPEAKER_10: Um, I should I want to hear the hint.
- 45:27SPEAKER_10: You're not gonna fall for the banana on the tailpipe.
- 45:29SPEAKER_10: Oh, the hint is during a stakeout.
- 45:31SPEAKER_05: What's look, man, look, man! I ain't fall for no banana in my tailpipe.
- 45:38SPEAKER_05: Gotta let it flow.
- 45:41SPEAKER_10: Speaking of Eddie Murphy.
- 45:44SPEAKER_10: So my wife, my wife and daughter ran into town earlier, and Finn is working at his uh shop, and so it was just Eli and I at home.
- 45:54SPEAKER_10: And I put it on Pluto, and um one of the channels on Pluto was playing Eddie Murphy's Raw.
- 46:02SPEAKER_04: Oh boy.
- 46:02SPEAKER_10: So I was like, oh, you ready for this?
- 46:04SPEAKER_10: He said he's 18, right?
- 46:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 46:06SPEAKER_10: So I put it uh I put it on, and there was a couple commercials, and then it finally came back on.
- 46:11SPEAKER_10: And then I was like, okay, I'm uh I'm not ready for you to be in the room while I watch.
- 46:18SPEAKER_10: I'm not because it was you know, I I expected F-words, but it was like it was, I mean, you know.
- 46:25SPEAKER_10: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 46:27SPEAKER_10: I'm well acquainted with uh so I was like I was like, yeah, no, I'm not ready for to watch this with you.
- 46:33SPEAKER_10: So I turn it off.
- 46:35SPEAKER_10: Anyway.
- 46:37SPEAKER_04: Um scandalous.
- 46:40SPEAKER_10: Here is the poor explanation.
- 46:42SPEAKER_10: A police officer spends a lot of time on the toilet.
- 46:47SPEAKER_04: Oh, uh, diehard.
- 46:49SPEAKER_04: No.
- 46:50SPEAKER_04: Oh no, I mean uh lethal weapon.
- 46:52SPEAKER_10: Which one?
- 46:53SPEAKER_10: Two on the toilet until it blows up.
- 46:57SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 46:58SPEAKER_10: 1989, actually.
- 47:00SPEAKER_04: Lethal weapon too, yeah.
- 47:01SPEAKER_10: Yes.
- 47:01SPEAKER_10: Okay, here is the one that I think you'll have a hard time with.
- 47:04SPEAKER_04: I can't, I can't, okay, I can't I can't.
- 47:07SPEAKER_04: But but you're black.
- 47:10SPEAKER_04: He is.
- 47:11SPEAKER_10: You are.
- 47:12SPEAKER_10: You are.
- 47:15SPEAKER_10: Um This is the one I think you'll have a hard time with.
- 47:20SPEAKER_10: Here is the poor explanation, and I don't know why I'm buffering my music.
- 47:24SPEAKER_10: I know music is buffering, but Well, you got a streamer from the 80s, so you know.
- 47:28SPEAKER_04: Maybe that's what I mean.
- 47:29SPEAKER_04: There's you know, time space continuum type thing.
- 47:32SPEAKER_10: Apparently.
- 47:33SPEAKER_10: Um, I just totally stopped.
- 47:36SPEAKER_10: Totally stopped.
- 47:37SPEAKER_10: That's weird.
- 47:39SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 47:40SPEAKER_04: YouTube's probably like, why are you playing?
- 47:42SPEAKER_10: It's probably gonna play a commercial.
- 47:44SPEAKER_10: Probably.
- 47:44SPEAKER_10: I bet you it's gear enough to play a commercial.
- 47:46SPEAKER_10: Commercial suck, yeah, they do.
- 47:48SPEAKER_10: Uh here is the poor explanation.
- 47:50SPEAKER_10: A single mother has a favorite child.
- 48:06SPEAKER_04: Single mother has a favorite child.
- 48:10SPEAKER_10: It's a drama.
- 48:11SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 48:14SPEAKER_04: It's a Sophie's choice.
- 48:16SPEAKER_10: Holy cow! You didn't even need the hint on that one.
- 48:19SPEAKER_10: Yes, the hint was it's a hard decision.
- 48:21SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 48:21SPEAKER_10: From 1982.
- 48:23SPEAKER_10: Wow, I'm impressed.
- 48:24SPEAKER_10: I did!
- 48:25SPEAKER_04: I didn't think you were gonna get that.
- 48:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, whoo! Nice work.
- 48:29SPEAKER_04: Well, my first thought was the omen.
- 48:34SPEAKER_13: Damien!
- 48:35SPEAKER_10: Holy cow, that movie scared me when I was a kid.
- 48:37SPEAKER_10: That is a freaky movie.
- 48:39SPEAKER_10: That one in Children of the Corn.
- 48:41SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 48:41SPEAKER_10: Oh, I could I kidding.
- 48:43SPEAKER_04: But I knew the omen came out in the 70s, so I knew that wasn't it.
- 48:46SPEAKER_10: So Right.
- 48:47SPEAKER_10: Um, yeah.
- 48:49SPEAKER_10: Okay, let's see.
- 48:50SPEAKER_10: That must mean, if we've done that, that must mean it's time for everyone's favorite part of the show.
- 48:58SPEAKER_01: With everyone's favorites, O'Brien, Doug, Cousin Larry, and yours truly, Miss Judge Ness, Judge Ness, Judge Ness.
- 49:06SPEAKER_01: It's time to play mixtape, mixtape.
- 49:08SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 49:09SPEAKER_10: Have you heard from her yet?
- 49:10SPEAKER_10: She has back to me.
- 49:13SPEAKER_10: So hopefully we're back on track now.
- 49:16SPEAKER_10: Because we say that.
- 49:17SPEAKER_10: We kept we keep forgetting to do things, and because we're dumb, it throws us off completely.
- 49:24SPEAKER_04: Big dummy dummy heads.
- 49:31SPEAKER_04: Let's see.
- 49:32SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 49:33SPEAKER_04: You ready for this?
- 49:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 49:35SPEAKER_10: Oh, actually, I'm not.
- 49:36SPEAKER_10: Hold on.
- 49:36SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 49:38SPEAKER_10: Alright, now I'm ready.
- 49:39SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 49:41SPEAKER_01: Hey guys, that was a great week of picks for mixtape.
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: Uh, I see where cousin Larry was going with the flannel and everything, but uh, I think cowboy boots would be better than Doc Martin's for that song.
- 49:52SPEAKER_01: Um, but I had to go with Doug's pick.
- 49:55SPEAKER_01: Smelled like Teen Spirit.
- 49:56SPEAKER_01: Very well known, very well-enjoyed uh grunge song.
- 50:00SPEAKER_01: Um, but I look forward to this week.
- 50:03SPEAKER_01: Have an awesome podcast.
- 50:05SPEAKER_09: Thank you, Judge.

- 50:13SPEAKER_10: Now we do present.
- 50:15SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 50:16SPEAKER_10: And the question was, I'll read the question while you get Cousin Larry's pick.
- 50:20SPEAKER_07: Ah, we'll find out.
- 50:20SPEAKER_10: The question was, You're a dog, and you've just broken out of the pound along with 25 other ragtag mutts.
- 50:30SPEAKER_10: What song plays as you and your new pack terrorize the town?
- 50:36SPEAKER_10: There will be a scene where you jump through a wedding cake.
- 50:40SPEAKER_10: And I said that Who Let the Dogs Out is Yeah, that's off the table.
- 50:44SPEAKER_10: Off the table.
- 50:45SPEAKER_04: So Okay, this is what Larry said.
- 50:49SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 50:51SPEAKER_04: Alright, mixtape.
- 50:53SPEAKER_04: Well, aside from the obvious song that shall not be named, my first thought was the Brady Bunch theme song because the wedding cake reference made me think of the first episode.
- 51:02SPEAKER_04: Tiger.
- 51:02SPEAKER_04: When Mike and Carol got married and Tiger started chasing Fluffy.
- 51:06SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 51:06SPEAKER_04: Uh, I also thought of the movie The Sandlot, where Hercules chases Benny and knocks over the Fourth of July cake while Wipeout is on by the Safaris is playing.
- 51:16SPEAKER_04: But I think I have to go with Sega's Tonight.
- 51:20SPEAKER_04: We're on the loose with honorable mention to Running with the Pack by Brad Bad Company.
- 51:26SPEAKER_10: Isn't it called On the Loose?
- 51:28SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's it's it's on the loose by Sega.
- 51:31SPEAKER_10: Let's let's pump that up here.
- 52:35SPEAKER_10: Alright, that is Cousin Larry's pick.
- 52:37SPEAKER_10: Saga.
- 52:39SPEAKER_10: S-A-G-A.
- 52:42SPEAKER_10: On the loose.
- 52:45SPEAKER_10: What is your pick, Doug?
- 52:47SPEAKER_04: Well, he mentioned uh the foster DNA is running because he mentioned mine.
- 52:51SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 52:52SPEAKER_04: Uh wiped out by the Safaris.
- 52:54SPEAKER_04: Oh, nice.
- 52:54SPEAKER_04: Just because from that exactly that reason from the sand lot.
- 52:58SPEAKER_04: So Okay.
- 53:04SPEAKER_10: Hold on, that's not the original.
- 53:06SPEAKER_10: That's not it.
- 53:07SPEAKER_10: That's not it.
- 53:10SPEAKER_10: There it is, there it is.
- 53:20SPEAKER_10: It's interesting that you went with this.
- 53:30SPEAKER_10: I think we are on like the same frequency.
- 53:36SPEAKER_10: All three of us.
- 53:55SPEAKER_10: Okay, because my choice.
- 53:59SPEAKER_10: Um this is a pack of dogs running around town causing mayhem, right?
- 54:05SPEAKER_10: Um, so my choice was do the not taco bells.
- 54:09SPEAKER_10: Taco Bell commercial is the Taco Bell! They're going for Taco Bell!
- 54:16SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, nice one.
- 54:18SPEAKER_04: Mr.
- 54:18SPEAKER_04: Lou.
- 54:19SPEAKER_10: Yeah, Dick Dale.
- 54:22SPEAKER_04: Every time I heard of this, I was like a Tarantino movie light up, full picture, whatever.
- 54:26SPEAKER_08: But can you see a bunch of dogs running around?
- 54:31SPEAKER_08: But dogs love surf music.
- 54:33SPEAKER_10: We're just gonna say, we're all on the same frequency.
- 54:36SPEAKER_10: We all think I mean he mentioned wipe out, but that's the name of the episode.
- 54:39SPEAKER_04: Dogs love surf music.
- 54:55SPEAKER_10: This is underrated stuff, man.
- 54:56SPEAKER_10: All that surfing stuff.
- 54:57SPEAKER_10: Surf gal, yeah.
- 54:58SPEAKER_10: Dickdale ventures.
- 54:59SPEAKER_10: That was that was huge, man.
- 55:01SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 55:02SPEAKER_04: That is a huge ventures fan.
- 55:04SPEAKER_10: I know.
- 55:05SPEAKER_04: What a patching!
- 55:08SPEAKER_10: So all right, so that's mine.
- 55:11SPEAKER_10: Dickdale and the Deltones, Mr.
- 55:14SPEAKER_10: Lou, and Doug's is Wipeout from the Safaris.
- 55:19SPEAKER_10: And Saga on the Loose was for Cousin Larry.
- 55:23SPEAKER_10: So there.
- 55:24SPEAKER_10: There we have those choices.
- 55:26SPEAKER_10: Now, before I forget, I'm gonna hand you that.
- 55:29SPEAKER_10: We are going to pick on again question for next week.
- 55:35SPEAKER_04: Alright.
- 55:36SPEAKER_04: Let's see here.
- 55:52SPEAKER_10: Are you editing as you go?
- 55:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 55:56SPEAKER_04: Well, that one's similar to one we've already done before.
- 55:59SPEAKER_04: Oh, interpretive dance.
- 56:01SPEAKER_04: We gotta do those sometime and record them.
- 56:03SPEAKER_10: Yeah, like the video ones.
- 56:04SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 56:04SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 56:06SPEAKER_10: I was thinking about that by the way.
- 56:08SPEAKER_10: Uh, you know how we haven't been recording the podcast on video?
- 56:11SPEAKER_10: Correct.
- 56:11SPEAKER_10: Just because A, we're probably lazy and because there's a lot to it down here.
- 56:15SPEAKER_10: There's yeah, there's a lot more to we need somebody like separate.
- 56:18SPEAKER_10: I wonder if we could, like after every episode, or before every episode, whichever, whichever you know, we we figure out, we get on one camera and and just do like a promo for the episode.
- 56:33SPEAKER_10: Probably after the episode.
- 56:34SPEAKER_10: Because we'll be we'll be we'll know what we talked about and stuff.
- 56:38SPEAKER_10: Right?
- 56:38SPEAKER_10: So like after the episode, we sit down in front of a camera and we do like a 30-second video promo.
- 56:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, actually that's a good idea.
- 56:46SPEAKER_04: We can do something like that, right?
- 56:49SPEAKER_04: After hours.
- 56:51SPEAKER_04: Well, Brian and Doug, after minutes.
- 56:59SPEAKER_05: You guys are awesome! Did you just swear?
- 57:04SPEAKER_04: I I censored myself.
- 57:06SPEAKER_04: Did you?
- 57:08SPEAKER_04: I was awesome.
- 57:12SPEAKER_08: Maybe I'll I don't know, maybe I'll bleep it.
- 57:14SPEAKER_04: Maybe bleep it in, maybe just in case.
- 57:17SPEAKER_04: Just you know, that's an homage to Shane at your bachelor party.
- 57:21SPEAKER_09: Oh yes, that's true.
- 57:23SPEAKER_04: Shane who was in Doug!
- 57:26SPEAKER_05: Doug! Our bed is P Awesome! Was that the one Brian?
- 57:35SPEAKER_08: You mean awesome! Was he the one rolling around in the ditch, or was that Phil?
- 57:45SPEAKER_08: That was Phil.
- 57:45SPEAKER_08: That was Phil.
- 57:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 57:47SPEAKER_04: I I think I think Shane was passed out by that point.
- 57:50SPEAKER_04: I think he was, yeah.
- 57:51SPEAKER_04: I think he was too.
- 57:52SPEAKER_08: What a what a night.
- 57:53SPEAKER_08: It was a fun night.

- 57:56SPEAKER_08: I know.
- 57:57SPEAKER_08: I wasn't drinking, but everybody else was.
- 57:59SPEAKER_08: Everybody else was.
- 58:00SPEAKER_08: It was just hilarious, man.
- 58:02SPEAKER_08: So what a good time.
- 58:04SPEAKER_08: Alright, so what is the question?
- 58:06SPEAKER_08: You never asked.
- 58:06SPEAKER_04: What song or band changed the way you think about music?
- 58:11SPEAKER_10: We didn't we didn't do that one already?
- 58:14SPEAKER_04: I don't think so.
- 58:15SPEAKER_10: I thought we did that one.
- 58:16SPEAKER_10: Did we?
- 58:16SPEAKER_10: I thought I did Van Halen.
- 58:18SPEAKER_04: I don't know, maybe.
- 58:19SPEAKER_04: You want me to change it?
- 58:19SPEAKER_10: Yeah, change it.
- 58:24SPEAKER_04: I'm pretty sure that we were.
- 58:26SPEAKER_08: I was pretty impressed with it, uh, but I'm pretty sure.
- 58:31SPEAKER_10: Sorry.
- 58:32SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 58:34SPEAKER_10: Oh, by the way, uh, you know how I got out of that Pat Tuesday thing tonight?
- 58:38SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 58:38SPEAKER_10: Um two of my kids separately, without even talking to each other, said, You should bring the recorder and do the podcast from there.
- 58:45SPEAKER_10: Pretty fun.
- 58:46SPEAKER_10: I said, uh, no.
- 58:50SPEAKER_04: Why not?
- 58:51SPEAKER_04: Well, we're in uh the basement of a church.
- 58:54SPEAKER_04: This is pretty cool.
- 58:56SPEAKER_04: Hey, what are you what are you eating over there?
- 58:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah?
- 58:59SPEAKER_05: You're pretty awesome! Piece of cake to you!
- 59:08SPEAKER_04: Is that what you guys do afterwards?
- 59:10SPEAKER_04: What?
- 59:10SPEAKER_04: Instead of peace be with you, you'd be like, Piece of cake with you.
- 59:14SPEAKER_04: No, piece of pizza with you.
- 59:16SPEAKER_10: No, that's changed.
- 59:18SPEAKER_04: Oh, you don't do that anymore?
- 59:19SPEAKER_10: Well, when someone says uh peace be with you, you say, and all uh and with your spirit.
- 59:25SPEAKER_10: Yeah, you don't say and also with you.
- 59:27SPEAKER_10: When I first became Catholic, that's what that's what you say.
- 59:30SPEAKER_10: That's what you say was and also with you.
- 59:32SPEAKER_09: May the force be with you.
- 59:33SPEAKER_09: And also with you.

- 59:36SPEAKER_04: May the force be with you.

- 59:44SPEAKER_04: This would be a hard one.
- 59:45SPEAKER_10: These are why would it be hard?
- 59:48SPEAKER_04: It says the song that plays during the montage of your child's life at their high school graduation party.
- 59:54SPEAKER_10: Yeah, no, we can't do that one.
- 59:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because I don't have a child.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_10: You are a child.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_04: I am a child.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_04: I am a man child.

- 1:00:41SPEAKER_04: You just got sideswiped and the other driver took off.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_04: You stomp the gas pedal to chase him.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_04: What song plays in the background?
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_10: No, we can do that one.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:00:53SPEAKER_10: So you just got sideswiped and he drove off.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_10: What's the song playing in the background?
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_10: Alright.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_10: Good enough.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_04: Alright.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_04: Let's do it.

- 1:01:03SPEAKER_10: No, I don't think so.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_10: Some of them we've skipped, though.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_10: We've skipped up a bunch because they're just not very good.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_10: Uh let's see.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_10: Um, I made you a mixtape?
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_10: That's different, right?

- 1:01:34SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_10: Anyway.

- 1:03:22SPEAKER_04: Alright.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_04: Well, you know, you know what's funny is that you know the Olympics are going on right now.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_04: And of course, Snoop Dogg is there for some reason.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_04: Um So is Snoop Dogg Generation X like mascot now?
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_10: Um didn't we talk about the fact that he has a kid's show?
- 1:03:41SPEAKER_04: Or he has that cartoon that uh daily affirmations things or cartoon characters.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_04: He like raps and I don't think you know that Snoop voice, you know.
- 1:03:52SPEAKER_04: Jen did you say Gen X?
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's like Gen X's uh mascot.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_10: Oh, I don't think so.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_04: I well I don't consider Well, I mean I I mean he's not like the spokesman, but he's like the mascot because he's like everywhere.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_04: And everybody loves him now.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_04: I mean, remember back when he first came out, he was very controversial.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_04: You know, because he was, you know, rapping with Dre and all that stuff.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_04: You know?
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I mean, gin and juice and I mean he hangs out with Martha Stewart.
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_10: That's what happens when you hang out with Martha Stewart.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_04: Well, I I think that's what started it.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_04: He starts hanging out with Martha Stewart, all of a sudden he goes soft.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_10: Well, it's because you uh that's some some genius marketing person where it's you have the the it's like the dichotomy, you know, it's like the the total opposites, and you put them together for a commercial or something like that.
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_10: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_10: And then uh he got really bigger because of that.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean he's just he's just he's just like he's like everybody's mascot now.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_04: He's just like everywhere.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_10: Now NBC's he's on the payroll at NBC.
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_04: And he's just, you know, and he's still Snoopy.
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_04: Kevin Hart, too, right?
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_04: Isn't Kevin Hart doing stuff for the Olympics?
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_04: I haven't seen him.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_04: I just see Snoop everywhere.
- 1:05:04SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:05:04SPEAKER_04: He's always like, he's there.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_04: He's like, he's like, I don't know if he's like sponsoring the Olympic team or what.
- 1:05:12SPEAKER_04: But he's always there.
- 1:05:13SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_04: It's like he's all pimped out, and whatever, you know, winter or summer doesn't matter.
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_04: You're gonna find Snoop.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_10: I'm curious as as with uh if there's a uh let's see what soundboard I'm just curious as what what this does.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_10: Oh, of course you know that one.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_09: Hey, how are you?
- 1:06:09SPEAKER_10: Is that supposed to be Snoop Dogg?
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_09: Was that?
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_09: I didn't even know it.
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_09: Damn, it must be true.
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_09: Yeah, that's that's Snoop.
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_09: Oh.
- 1:06:25SPEAKER_10: Maybe we could use this.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_10: Oh, never mind.
- 1:06:31SPEAKER_10: This is this is just the worst version of the other one.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_10: This says this is next episode.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_10: So I'm not sure.
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_10: Shut the f Whoa! What you wow Easy Snoop.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_10: Easy bass.

- 1:06:51SPEAKER_10: Let me mark this.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_10: Okay, an hour and eight minutes.
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_10: We gotta go back and edit.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_08: That's funny.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_10: So I was just thought maybe we could get some like I was about to say we gotta have we gotta use this for drops for this episode.
- 1:07:03SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:07:03SPEAKER_04: Something.
- 1:07:04SPEAKER_04: We gotta find some clean one.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_10: Anyway, um I have an album.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_10: Is it Snoop Dogg?
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_07: No, it's not Snoop Dogg.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_10: It's probably the polar opposite of Snoop Dogg if I if that means anything.
- 1:07:16SPEAKER_10: John Denver?
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_10: All close.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_10: Really?
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_10: Uh so yeah, let the guessing begin.
- 1:07:21SPEAKER_04: So it's like a singer-songwriter guy?
- 1:07:23SPEAKER_10: It is a singer-songwriter.
- 1:07:25SPEAKER_10: Pop pop rock, though.
- 1:07:27SPEAKER_10: And uh just to save you all these questions.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_10: Uh 80s.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_10: Late 80s.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_10: Early 90s.
- 1:07:41SPEAKER_10: I had to stop reading this guy's autobiography.
- 1:07:44SPEAKER_10: Richard together.
- 1:07:52SPEAKER_10: I had to stop reading this guy's autobiography because he was so full of himself.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_04: Richard Marks.
- 1:07:59SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_10: Um this was the album, it was after this album that I lost touch with Richard Marks.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_10: This album is called Paid Vacation.
- 1:08:07SPEAKER_10: I really liked Richard Marks' first album.
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_08: It was very popular.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_08: That was an excellent album.
- 1:08:11SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it was very pop.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_10: And my favorite Richard Marks album is the second one, uh, called Repeat Offender.
- 1:08:17SPEAKER_10: It had a lot of uh like Steve Lukather played guitar on it.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_10: I mean it was it was uh more rockin' of an album, yeah, I think, than the first one.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_10: Uh and then he came out with this one, and this is a good album.
- 1:08:30SPEAKER_10: Um but after this album, uh like I said, I kind of I don't know, lost interest.
- 1:08:35SPEAKER_10: Uh I didn't really like the direction.
- 1:08:38SPEAKER_10: He was really going soft on me.
- 1:08:40SPEAKER_10: Uh so and this this album was very, very pop.
- 1:08:44SPEAKER_10: There's really nothing rocking on this album.
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_02: Let me tell you about the way she loved me.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_10: I'm not taking anything away from Richard Marks.
- 1:08:55SPEAKER_10: He's very talented.
- 1:08:56SPEAKER_10: Oh, yeah.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_10: Very good songwriter, great singer.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_10: Lionel Richie's background singer.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_10: Oh, yeah, that's right, I forgot.
- 1:09:06SPEAKER_10: That's how we gotta start.
- 1:09:09SPEAKER_10: This would probably be the Well, I was gonna say this is the most rockin' song on the album, but there might be another one.
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_10: So he released this song.
- 1:09:39SPEAKER_10: This actually has uh Luther Van Drost singing back.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_10: I missed that guy.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_10: Yeah, me too.
- 1:09:48SPEAKER_10: I'll just play it through the chorus, which actually it started with the chorus, but still.
- 1:09:59SPEAKER_10: Very kind of pop RB.
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_10: That's good stuff.
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_10: Uh here's the other single from this is about his wife who he's since divorced.
- 1:10:15SPEAKER_04: That's special.
- 1:10:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:10:17SPEAKER_04: His forever love.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_02: Whenever I'm weary from the battles that rage in my head.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_02: You make sense.
- 1:10:33SPEAKER_10: This is like his sequel to Right Here Waiting.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_10: It's called Now and Forever.
- 1:10:38SPEAKER_10: And it's a great song.
- 1:10:39SPEAKER_10: It's a it's a beautiful ballad.
- 1:10:41SPEAKER_10: And then he also released this one from this album.
- 1:10:46SPEAKER_10: Now this has Vince Gill singing background.
- 1:10:49SPEAKER_04: You know, you can kind of tell.
- 1:10:50SPEAKER_04: It's a Vince Gill right?
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_04: You know, thing.
- 1:10:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:10:54SPEAKER_04: It's got that Vince Gill vibe on it.
- 1:11:14SPEAKER_09: Nope.
- 1:11:15SPEAKER_02: Nope.
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_09: Nope.
- 1:11:22SPEAKER_10: I will tell you though, uh, some of the guys that he's got playing for him.
- 1:11:26SPEAKER_10: So Randy Jackson on bass.
- 1:11:28SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_10: Right?
- 1:11:31SPEAKER_10: Bill Payne on Keyboards in Oregon.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_10: Bill Payne is from Little Feet.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_10: And it was co-written by Richard Marks and Phi Wabill.
- 1:11:44SPEAKER_10: Now Phi Wabill is the lead singer of uh the Tubes.
- 1:11:50SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:11:51SPEAKER_02: Nothing but a black.
- 1:11:53SPEAKER_10: But I think uh let's see if I can find the one that I think is the sequel.
- 1:11:58SPEAKER_10: Is this what it was?
- 1:11:59SPEAKER_10: One, two, three, go.
- 1:12:05SPEAKER_04: Hey! Hey! Hey! Reminds me of another song.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:12:20SPEAKER_10: Is it the Blessed Union of Souls?
- 1:12:27SPEAKER_10: This isn't the one I was thinking of.
- 1:12:29SPEAKER_10: There's one on here that I thought was a sequel to Oh.
- 1:12:46SPEAKER_10: This is actually this one.
- 1:12:48SPEAKER_10: So uh on the first album, he had a song called Don't Mean Nothing.
- 1:12:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:12:52SPEAKER_10: Uh which was a tale of him coming to Hollywood and the record producer telling him, Oh, let me change this and that, and you know, and and it wasn't a fun experience.
- 1:13:02SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 1:13:03SPEAKER_10: And they said, You'll never make it, and blah blah blah.
- 1:13:06SPEAKER_10: Second album, they had a he had a um kind of a sequel to that song called Um Nothing You Can Do About It.
- 1:13:13SPEAKER_10: Um Lyrically, it was kind of a sequel to it.
- 1:13:16SPEAKER_10: So this one is is called Goodbye Hollywood.
- 1:13:23SPEAKER_10: Wow.
- 1:13:23SPEAKER_10: Like, okay, whatever.
- 1:13:25SPEAKER_10: See ya.
- 1:13:25SPEAKER_10: Done, losers.
- 1:13:28SPEAKER_10: And this is basically.
- 1:13:32SPEAKER_10: I mean, if you had to say it was a trilogy.
- 1:13:39SPEAKER_10: But you know, I like this album.
- 1:13:41SPEAKER_10: It's it's very pop.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_10: Um, and it's the last album that I can take of Richard Marx singing.
- 1:13:48SPEAKER_10: All the other ones, it's very He made a pretty good living after this album because he stopped recording for a while and was just writing songs.
- 1:14:02SPEAKER_10: Oh, yeah.
- 1:14:02SPEAKER_10: He wrote songs with Keith Urban with InSync and and made a pretty good uh run at just being a songwriter.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_10: Yep.
- 1:14:10SPEAKER_10: And he's since put out, you know, some solo albums as well, but they haven't done anything.
- 1:14:15SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, you know.
- 1:14:16SPEAKER_10: But he doesn't have to.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_04: I mean he's Well, I was about to say he peaked.
- 1:14:18SPEAKER_04: He peaked after this one.
- 1:14:20SPEAKER_04: I think so.
- 1:14:20SPEAKER_04: You know, he's done.
- 1:14:22SPEAKER_04: He's like, ah I'm done.
- 1:14:24SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:14:24SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna hang out with Snoop.
- 1:14:28SPEAKER_10: So that is um that is the album or the Wall of Tunes album of the week.
- 1:14:34SPEAKER_10: And it is called Richard Marks Paid Vacation by Richard Marks.
- 1:14:39SPEAKER_10: He does have some No Relation to Carl.
- 1:14:42SPEAKER_10: Cool uh titles for his album, though.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_10: The second album was Repeat Offender.
- 1:14:46SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:14:47SPEAKER_10: And then this one's Paid Vacation.
- 1:14:48SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:14:48SPEAKER_04: It's kind of cute.
- 1:14:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, he's I mean I mean, the guy is good.
- 1:14:51SPEAKER_04: I mean he's a he's a wordsmith.
- 1:14:52SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_04: That's for sure.
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_10: But I I haven't finished his his autobiography yet, just because uh it's a little worse.
- 1:15:01SPEAKER_10: Oh I started I read about the first two chapters and I was like, this guy is so full of crap.
- 1:15:07SPEAKER_10: I can't even I can't even finish it.
- 1:15:09SPEAKER_10: But now he's got a podcast.
- 1:15:10SPEAKER_10: Richard Marks loves Richard Marx.
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_10: Right, now he's got a podcast.
- 1:15:13SPEAKER_10: Oh good and uh Richard Marx podcast with Richard Marx.
- 1:15:17SPEAKER_10: I noticed this too, because he does promos for the podcast.
- 1:15:20SPEAKER_10: And uh you you watch the promo for the podcast and it's him talking to whoever he's talking to.
- 1:15:29SPEAKER_10: But it's like they don't show who he's talking to?
- 1:15:31SPEAKER_10: Well, not until the end.
- 1:15:32SPEAKER_10: And when they show the person at the end, it's like they say, Yeah.
- 1:15:38SPEAKER_10: So the the bulk of the promo is Richard.
- 1:15:42SPEAKER_10: Of course it is.
- 1:15:43SPEAKER_10: And then you find out who the guest is, but then the promo's over.
- 1:15:46SPEAKER_04: You're not turning in for the guest.
- 1:15:48SPEAKER_04: You're turning in for Richard Marks.
- 1:15:49SPEAKER_04: Of course, right?
- 1:15:50SPEAKER_04: It's Richard Marks all the time, baby.
- 1:15:52SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:15:53SPEAKER_10: Richard Marks Richard.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_10: Who's now married to Daisy Fuentes, so you know, got her hand it to him, I guess.
- 1:15:58SPEAKER_04: I suppose there's perks to being Richard Marks.
- 1:16:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I guess so.
