- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from kf I
- 0:04Speaker 1: am six forty and now Handle on the news. Ladies
- 0:15Speaker 1: and gentlemen, here's Bill Handle.
- 0:19Speaker 2: On Yeah what he's been morning, July fifteenth. We have
- 0:23Speaker 2: a modify two this morning for small no Amy, but
- 0:27Speaker 2: we have Heather Brooker in. Good morning, Heather, good morning.
- 0:30Speaker 2: And yeah Neil, who is having all kinds of problems connecting,
- 0:35Speaker 2: so let me know we need connect so it's none here.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Oh we did connect all right? Good good morning, Neil,
- 0:43Speaker 2: Good morning. Are we getting a little static there for Neil?
- 0:46Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the issue and not the type of static
- 0:50Speaker 4: I normally like to give you.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, it's just well, they'll play with it
- 0:54Speaker 2: because it's a little staticky and people are going to
- 0:56Speaker 2: go crazy listening to it. Hello. In many cases people
- 1:00Speaker 2: would rather have static than have no static. Okay, uh cono,
- 1:06Speaker 2: good morning, Good morning, Bill and Will Good morning, Bill,
- 1:11Speaker 2: good morning, and we're so happy, were so happy in
- 1:14Speaker 2: the morning.
- 1:15Speaker 3: You were wrong. This is this is definitely a Schwitz
- 1:18Speaker 3: right now? Is it out there as fits the valleys
- 1:21Speaker 3: a sitz? Oh?
- 1:23Speaker 2: Okay, Well, you know I haven't been outside, so I
- 1:26Speaker 2: don't know how s fitzy it is outside. Uh and
- 1:29Speaker 2: in the meantime, Anne, are you fitzing too? Yeah, women
- 1:34Speaker 2: don't shit, that's true. Women women don't sweat, right, there
- 1:39Speaker 2: are a few a few ethnicities where they don't stop.
- 1:43Speaker 2: You know, the armpits are dripping and yeah, I'm just
- 1:50Speaker 2: thinking of you know, the hairy armpits. You know, there
- 1:53Speaker 2: used to be a time when I was growing up
- 1:57Speaker 2: or when I was a teenagers, uh, the sixties and
- 2:02Speaker 2: the seventies where women didn't shave their pits or didn't
- 2:06Speaker 2: shave their legs either. And I'm going to share a
- 2:12Speaker 2: quick story with you. I don't think I ever shared
- 2:14Speaker 2: a story with you. And that is a few times
- 2:18Speaker 2: that I participated in LSD. As you know, I was
- 2:21Speaker 2: a garbage can and I did every kind of drug
- 2:23Speaker 2: that you can ever imagine. One of the things for
- 2:26Speaker 2: the first time in LSD tripping is you should And
- 2:29Speaker 2: I did have a guide, someone who knows it very well,
- 2:34Speaker 2: was not high and sort of guide you through. So
- 2:39Speaker 2: there was a gal. I was living in half a
- 2:41Speaker 2: commune there. Actually I was kind of living in a
- 2:43Speaker 2: house with a bunch of people, and one of the
- 2:47Speaker 2: gals was my guide and lived with us. And let's
- 2:51Speaker 2: just say she was a little heavy set, and she
- 2:55Speaker 2: would wear the skin tight dresses that almost no one
- 2:59Speaker 2: on the planet can wear unless you're incredibly thin. Well,
- 3:02Speaker 2: she wasn't, and she did and she did not shave
- 3:06Speaker 2: her legs. And imagine this. Okay, you're getting high, right,
- 3:13Speaker 2: the LSD comes on, you know, it's starting to take effect,
- 3:17Speaker 2: and this lady, then you're going, oh my god, this
- 3:22Speaker 2: is terrible or wow, this is terrific, depending on which
- 3:24Speaker 2: way you feel. That was pretty good for me, So
- 3:27Speaker 2: I'm going great. And then I was touching her, not
- 3:34Speaker 2: in a sexual way, just sort of touching her. You know,
- 3:38Speaker 2: oh wow, this is what your arm feels like. It
- 3:40Speaker 2: feels different. And then I got to her leg. Now,
- 3:44Speaker 2: a couple of things about her legs. One didn't shave
- 3:48Speaker 2: her legs, had very coarse hair on her legs, and
- 3:52Speaker 2: she used to wear almost these compression stockings, these really
- 3:56Speaker 2: thick black stockings, and the hair would actually poke through them. Uh,
- 4:03Speaker 2: it was so coarse and so rough. And so there
- 4:09Speaker 2: was my first LSD trip, feeling hairs through a stocking
- 4:14Speaker 2: on a very hairy legged woman. Okay, I just wanted
- 4:20Speaker 2: to stray out through.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Just what happened?
- 4:25Speaker 2: Upsetting, Yes, how I start overcame down, locked us all
- 4:32Speaker 2: in and then I heard click.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Click click click click click click click on the roller coaster,
- 4:37Speaker 4: and we're off.
- 4:38Speaker 2: That happened, by the way, that's true. That's a true story.
- 4:40Speaker 2: That actually happened to me. That was all.
- 4:42Speaker 3: How long did you guys date after that?
- 4:44Speaker 2: We didn't date. She had a boyfriend who, by the
- 4:46Speaker 2: way she was, she must have weight. I'm not kidding
- 4:49Speaker 2: you to fifty two sixty Her boyfriend, soaking wet, was
- 4:54Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty five pounds.
- 4:55Speaker 5: Why do you hate fat people so much?
- 4:57Speaker 2: I know I don't hate fat people, and I'll tell
- 4:59Speaker 2: you I don't hate fat people.
- 5:01Speaker 3: I had there because I was.
- 5:03Speaker 2: I was heavy set my entire life, and I project
- 5:07Speaker 2: and that's the problem. It's strictly a projection. It's all
- 5:11Speaker 2: about me, not about people that are heavy.
- 5:14Speaker 5: I don't like that I can't see you this morning.
- 5:15Speaker 5: It makes me uncomfortable that I can't see you.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I know the zoom is not working, so anyway, just
- 5:23Speaker 2: to make it clear about that, it's that's one of
- 5:26Speaker 2: the things.
- 5:26Speaker 3: You know.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Body shaming is not something that I particularly am thrilled about.
- 5:31Speaker 2: But it's oh, believe me. I've talked to my shrink
- 5:34Speaker 2: a whole lot about this. Okay, I can't think of
- 5:40Speaker 2: anything else. What do you guys think of? You want
- 5:42Speaker 2: some news?
- 5:43Speaker 5: Yes? Please?
- 5:45Speaker 3: Okay, moving on, I keep her into his psyche.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Yeah, well, really thick stockings with the hair like poking through. Okay,
- 5:55Speaker 2: I handle on. News is up. It's Heather and Neil
- 6:00Speaker 2: and me lead story. Well. Iran has threatened to block
- 6:08Speaker 2: more trading routes in the region. The US has launched
- 6:12Speaker 2: the fresh wave of strikes. The Revolutionary Guards said that
- 6:17Speaker 2: the Strait of her Moves is going to remain shut
- 6:19Speaker 2: down until the US ends its act of aggression. Now,
- 6:24Speaker 2: to be fair, it was the US simply responding to
- 6:29Speaker 2: Iran attacking shipping, and so we're basically in the middle
- 6:34Speaker 2: of a war. The war has not ceased. Now, the
- 6:38Speaker 2: issue is what does the president do? Does he keep
- 6:40Speaker 2: on bombing Iran? Does Iran then in retaliation hit targets
- 6:44Speaker 2: in the Mideast to its neighboring countries, start hitting navigation
- 6:49Speaker 2: ships going through the Strait? Yeah? The President started this,
- 6:54Speaker 2: and man, he's got himself in a quagmire to say
- 6:57Speaker 2: the least all right to do? Want more? Go to
- 7:00Speaker 2: r Yeah, do it right?
- 7:02Speaker 5: So, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement have been instructed to
- 7:06Speaker 5: suspend vehicle stops during enforcement operations nationwide. This comes after
- 7:11Speaker 5: those two fatal shootings, one in Texas and in Maine
- 7:14Speaker 5: over the last week. This applies to ICE Enforcement and
- 7:19Speaker 5: Removal operations, the division responsible for civil immigration arrest, but
- 7:24Speaker 5: not Homeland security investigations. Those primarily handle criminal investigations. So
- 7:32Speaker 5: vehicle stops whenever they can do. Vehicle stops still whenever
- 7:35Speaker 5: they're partnered with a law enforcement agency and they're targeting
- 7:38Speaker 5: criminal suspects, but otherwise it has to be suspended.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Yeah. This is one where ICE is saying, these people
- 7:46Speaker 2: that are being shot they're either domestic terrorists or they've
- 7:49Speaker 2: weaponized their car. This last one is the Okay, maybe
- 7:56Speaker 2: the ICE agent wasn't threatened, Maybe you wasn't in the
- 8:00Speaker 2: way of a car going just trying to ram him.
- 8:03Speaker 2: It was for public safety. I don't know what that means,
- 8:07Speaker 2: and we're going to find out what it means that
- 8:10Speaker 2: at some point. And I'm going to do this story
- 8:12Speaker 2: at seven point thirty about body cans and the position
- 8:16Speaker 2: of ICE and this is not helping the administration at all,
- 8:20Speaker 2: not even a little bit, in addition to it being
- 8:24Speaker 2: completely inhumane. Is what's going on?
- 8:26Speaker 4: Todd Blanche acting Attorney General. Of course, he's the one
- 8:30Speaker 4: who took over things when Pam Bondi after her ouster
- 8:36Speaker 4: I loved that, after her ouster like, they threw her
- 8:40Speaker 4: out physically, But acting Attorney General cided over more than
- 8:45Speaker 4: a year of disruption on any in the Justice Department's history,
- 8:51Speaker 4: mass firings, all kinds of politically motivated prosecutions, erosion in
- 8:56Speaker 4: the department's tradition of independence, all these things right, Well,
- 9:00Speaker 4: today mister Blanche of fifty one has to defend that
- 9:04Speaker 4: record before the Senate Judiciary Committee as he seeks the
- 9:08Speaker 4: confirmation to permanently serve in that position. Now a lot
- 9:13Speaker 4: of this is symbolic, of course, well that is.
- 9:16Speaker 2: But I don't understand if their votes aren't there to
- 9:18Speaker 2: confirm him, why would they move forward with the hearings,
- 9:23Speaker 2: Because that's not what happens usually the president. When the
- 9:26Speaker 2: votes aren't there to confirm, the president yanks the nomination
- 9:31Speaker 2: and put someone else in place, especially since, as you said,
- 9:35Speaker 2: he could be he could continue on as acting Attorney
- 9:39Speaker 2: General until Trump leaves office. And the other thing is
- 9:44Speaker 2: which you were right about what his position is and
- 9:48Speaker 2: what he has done. He has not only been on
- 9:53Speaker 2: the side of non independence that Justice Department, and you've
- 9:58Speaker 2: got the even the FEDS should be should not be independent,
- 10:03Speaker 2: even though they are have been policy wise for decades
- 10:07Speaker 2: and decades. It's all under the purview of the president everything.
- 10:10Speaker 2: There's no such thing as independence, and he is pushing
- 10:14Speaker 2: that like crazy. He's another lap dog. Now, that's who
- 10:18Speaker 2: Trump puts in. He puts in lap dogs, and I'd
- 10:22Speaker 2: love to see what happens unless the votes are there.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I'll tell you one thing. If the votes are there,
- 10:27Speaker 2: it's going to be really, really close.
- 10:31Speaker 5: Tragedy just off the coast of Alcatraz. One person died
- 10:37Speaker 5: and three others are missing after a forty nine foot
- 10:41Speaker 5: cabin cruiser took on water and capsized in the waters
- 10:46Speaker 5: between Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge. Sixteen people survived.
- 10:51Speaker 5: There was about twenty people on the cruiser at the time.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Most of those people aboard were relatives or knew one another,
- 10:59Speaker 5: and they had gathered for a memorial on vote great huh.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Those are oars. We you forget how how tough that
- 11:08Speaker 2: that bay could be. I mean, the weather can be
- 11:10Speaker 2: really brutal. And that's what looked like it happened here.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Senaerate Democrats give the big block to one point one
- 11:20Speaker 4: five trillion dollar Pentagon Policy Bill yesterday. Massive legislation became
- 11:27Speaker 4: a casualty. It's been what a couple of months or so,
- 11:31Speaker 4: this fight to reign in President Donald Trump on Iran.
- 11:36Speaker 4: So this is kind of in protest of the Iran war.
- 11:41Speaker 4: So the National Defense Authorization Act fell well short of
- 11:45Speaker 4: the sixty votes that it needed to advance.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean a law. It's pretty clear a president
- 11:50Speaker 2: can only go sixty days without Congressional approval for any
- 11:55Speaker 2: of these well in this particular war or something like this,
- 11:59Speaker 2: and he wants to simply say, and he has sixty days,
- 12:03Speaker 2: doesn't apply to me. I can go to war as
- 12:06Speaker 2: long as I want. And the Center's going, okay, then
- 12:08Speaker 2: we're going to stop this defense bill. And if they're
- 12:11Speaker 2: playing chicken and who's going to win on this one,
- 12:14Speaker 2: who the hell knows. At this point, the President for
- 12:16Speaker 2: the most part, has won across the board except for
- 12:19Speaker 2: the courts. The courts are the only place where so
- 12:23Speaker 2: far there has been any kind of guardrails and say
- 12:26Speaker 2: no to the president.
- 12:28Speaker 5: New York is the first state to halt construction of
- 12:31Speaker 5: large new data centers. They imposed a one year moratorium.
- 12:35Speaker 5: There are concerns that the facilities will raise power costs,
- 12:41Speaker 5: strain water supplies, and burden local communities. The governor, Kathy Hochel,
- 12:46Speaker 5: said that she would also pursue legislation to repeal sales
- 12:50Speaker 5: tax exemptions for the large data centers.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Yeah, you got communities that want these there because you
- 12:57Speaker 2: have a tax base, You have people, certainly the construction work,
- 13:01Speaker 2: but my god, do they get in the way. The
- 13:03Speaker 2: amount of power that these data centers need, the amount
- 13:07Speaker 2: of water they need to cool down all the equipment
- 13:10Speaker 2: is just astronomical. So there's a fight instead of oh boy,
- 13:15Speaker 2: let's have them in our backyard. Now, there are plenty
- 13:18Speaker 2: of people in this case New York saying, hold on
- 13:20Speaker 2: a minute, we ain't doing it, not until we figure
- 13:23Speaker 2: all this out.
- 13:24Speaker 5: Why aren't there people trying to make these data centers
- 13:27Speaker 5: more efficient?
- 13:28Speaker 2: Because because you can't at this point that the technology
- 13:32Speaker 2: isn't there.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Heather, I believe that this tech will actually solve its
- 13:36Speaker 4: own problem eventually. But this is the new arms race.
- 13:39Speaker 4: You get China and other countries putting forth their efforts
- 13:43Speaker 4: to do this. We will be soaked in new technology
- 13:48Speaker 4: that we can't keep up with.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Ye, that's what's happening. Faster and faster and faster.
- 13:53Speaker 3: All right.
- 13:53Speaker 4: So another excellent reason for grocery prices to rise in California. Yeah,
- 14:00Speaker 4: grocery prices are going to be soaring even higher. You've
- 14:03Speaker 4: got to send it Bill fifty four, which was passed
- 14:07Speaker 4: back in twenty twenty two. It's the Plastic Pollution Prevention
- 14:11Speaker 4: and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Who writes that stuff.
- 14:17Speaker 4: This is to reduce single use plastics and packaging. So
- 14:23Speaker 4: you're looking at the estimation now that you're going to pay.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Each household is going to pay between sixty six and
- 14:29Speaker 4: one hundred and ninety dollars per year extra as a
- 14:33Speaker 4: result of the non recyclable packaging piece. Because what's going
- 14:37Speaker 4: to happen is the companies are going to get punished
- 14:40Speaker 4: for this. They're going to pass it along to us,
- 14:43Speaker 4: and then we get punished from the packaging and the
- 14:47Speaker 4: taxes from the politicians.
- 14:49Speaker 3: So open another hole. They're coming for us.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Then it's the issue of how important is recycling and
- 14:58Speaker 2: this again you know it's bits and pieces that it
- 15:01Speaker 2: all costs money, And you're right, but Neil, every time
- 15:04Speaker 2: prices go up, it's passed down to us no matter what.
- 15:08Speaker 4: And yes, but I don't we keep doing these things
- 15:11Speaker 4: with plastic and paper and going back and forth. The
- 15:13Speaker 4: reality is it's a broken system.
- 15:15Speaker 2: When it it is, we don't know. I don't know
- 15:17Speaker 2: how to I don't know how to fix. I mean,
- 15:18Speaker 2: there are places in the world that do a decent job,
- 15:21Speaker 2: and I do all. You have to look them up.
- 15:22Speaker 2: By the way, the acronym for the plastic pollution prevention
- 15:26Speaker 2: and packaging producer responsibility is peoh peer.
- 15:35Speaker 5: So back in twenty twenty three, you'll recall President Trump
- 15:39Speaker 5: was found liable for sexually assaulting Egene Carroll, author Egene
- 15:45Speaker 5: Carroll and defaming her. Well, now she has officially received
- 15:50Speaker 5: the five million dollars in damages from that lawsuit and
- 15:56Speaker 5: had with interest and it has been her lawyers says
- 16:00Speaker 5: she has received that money and is now in her account.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Yeah, oh, the five million for Donald Trump to pay
- 16:06Speaker 2: give me a break. It's not even it's not even
- 16:09Speaker 2: couch change. But there's also another one for what eighty
- 16:13Speaker 2: three million dollars that's out there, and yeah, yeah, so
- 16:17Speaker 2: that's going to be fun. Now when he may get
- 16:19Speaker 2: a little bit upset about not much. I think for
- 16:22Speaker 2: him it's more symbolic because whenever he is held liable
- 16:26Speaker 2: or at fault anywhere under any circumstances, it's either rigged
- 16:31Speaker 2: or everybody is lying. I mean, there's no such thing
- 16:34Speaker 2: as any wrongdoing on the part of the administration or
- 16:38Speaker 2: the part of Donald Trump.
- 16:39Speaker 3: I think you're right. I think it hurts him more
- 16:42Speaker 3: than the money does.
- 16:43Speaker 4: The pride thing, yeah, the pride losing, you know, all
- 16:47Speaker 4: that stuff, But.
- 16:49Speaker 5: Five million dollars to a billionaire isn't You're right. It's
- 16:53Speaker 5: Trump change.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Said Trump change, Trump change, Change, change works, It works
- 17:03Speaker 2: all right.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Lake Powell second largest reservoir here in the US of A.
- 17:08Speaker 4: Very they say it's nearing critically low, so we're getting
- 17:13Speaker 4: close to elevation levels that are very low. As of Monday,
- 17:17Speaker 4: the levels there at Lake Powell measured three five twenty
- 17:22Speaker 4: four point three feet above sea level. And that's not good.
- 17:27Speaker 4: What ends up happening here those hydro electric turbines and stuff.
- 17:33Speaker 4: They start moving too slow because they don't have enough
- 17:36Speaker 4: water pushing them, and then they can no longer produce
- 17:39Speaker 4: the hydro power. And that starts at three thousand, four
- 17:44Speaker 4: hundred and ninety feet, So you can see up against
- 17:47Speaker 4: that three thirty five hundred or so that we're knocking
- 17:50Speaker 4: on the door to that.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, thirty five feet is what we're talking about.
- 17:54Speaker 2: If it goes down another what thirty five feet? Do
- 17:57Speaker 2: I have that right?
- 17:58Speaker 1: Well?
- 17:58Speaker 2: Look yeah, yeah, yeah, and then and then it hits
- 18:01Speaker 2: the deadpool. Uh that's where as you said, uh, the
- 18:06Speaker 2: water can't be uh pumped through the turbines, which means
- 18:09Speaker 2: electricity stops Lake Powell. Do you remember Planet of the
- 18:12Speaker 2: Apes there? Everybody did when that spaceship first hits that
- 18:19Speaker 2: these that Charlton Heston and whoever else was on the
- 18:21Speaker 2: ship and they're in that lake that was Lake Powell?
- 18:24Speaker 2: Oh really, yeah, that was.
- 18:26Speaker 3: That's actually an interesting fact.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, see, oh, Neil, that you actually comment, that's
- 18:31Speaker 2: something I have that I put forward.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Finds you very interesting. I've never said you weren't interesting.
- 18:40Speaker 4: You can't pronounce meta, but you're interesting.
- 18:43Speaker 2: That is correct. I cannot pronounce meta Meida meta meta.
- 18:48Speaker 5: Yeah, Edward Edwin, excuse me. Diaz is a former Dodgers player.
- 18:56Speaker 5: I guess current current Dodgers player.
- 18:58Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 18:58Speaker 5: You guys should never give me sports stories, but I'm
- 19:00Speaker 5: gonna do my best. He's a current player. He's a
- 19:03Speaker 5: current player, Thank you so much for that. Apparently he
- 19:06Speaker 5: pitched in the All Star Game a year ago and
- 19:08Speaker 5: now he's working towards this says, rejoining the Los Angeles
- 19:12Speaker 5: Dodgers after he was injured, okay, after his elbow surgery,
- 19:16Speaker 5: and he was involved in some kind of illegal cock
- 19:18Speaker 5: fighting situation. What is that about?
- 19:21Speaker 2: Well, this Puerto Rico where they do it a little
- 19:25Speaker 2: bit differently. That's when you get these roosters, these cocks
- 19:29Speaker 2: who kill each other, and they have these horrific talents.
- 19:34Speaker 2: They put these metal actually what would they call him,
- 19:40Speaker 2: the razors or something, yeah, something. It's like Wolverine.
- 19:43Speaker 5: It's so violent with these.
- 19:45Speaker 2: And they and they and they kill each other and
- 19:48Speaker 2: they bet on it. It's basically prize fighting among roosters.
- 19:52Speaker 5: I guess I don't understand. So is he's not allowed
- 19:54Speaker 5: to do that in Puerto Rico?
- 19:56Speaker 2: You're not allowed to do that at all in the
- 19:57Speaker 2: United States, it's illegal, and there's a federal ban on
- 20:02Speaker 2: cock fighting. Yeah, it is pretty disgusting.
- 20:04Speaker 5: Well, he's listed as being a participant in a cock
- 20:07Speaker 5: fighting tournament that's coming up on Friday in Puerto Rico.
- 20:11Speaker 2: And he's probably, you know, pretty well against the the
- 20:14Speaker 2: other chicken because he's a lot.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Bigger and has opposable thumbs.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Yes, an athlete. Yeah, it's sure. I mean, I don't
- 20:24Speaker 2: know if you've ever seen it. It is really rough
- 20:27Speaker 2: stuff to see.
- 20:27Speaker 5: It's awful.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it is awful.
- 20:31Speaker 6: The disappointed they were birds and uh yeah, and and
- 20:34Speaker 6: these uh, these birds, these cocks, male rooster people, male
- 20:38Speaker 6: chickens are bread to do this.
- 20:41Speaker 2: They are vicious and it is because in reality, there's
- 20:47Speaker 2: no such thing as a killer chicken. It's killer owners.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Well, and the certainty of law we get.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Musk likely broke the law by giving voters one million
- 21:04Speaker 4: dollars there in Wisconsin. So it says the Wisconsin Bard
- 21:08Speaker 4: if you remember a billionaire, actually trillionaire, are they're right
- 21:13Speaker 4: in this garbage for he's a trillionaire. The t Elon
- 21:17Speaker 4: Musk likely broke Wisconsin's law when he handed out one
- 21:21Speaker 4: million dollar checks to voters in the twenty twenty five
- 21:26Speaker 4: Supreme Court election. You know, Bill, I remember, do you
- 21:30Speaker 4: remember the days when we had the armored car, the
- 21:33Speaker 4: KFI armored vehicle?
- 21:34Speaker 2: Oh yeah, of course.
- 21:35Speaker 4: Okay, so years and years and years ago we illegally
- 21:39Speaker 4: had an armored vehicle, fully armored for KFI, and we
- 21:44Speaker 4: used to take it out. Tim Kelly, I did Paul
- 21:49Speaker 4: the Wall, and we'd give out T shirts during voting
- 21:52Speaker 4: time to get people to register to vote.
- 21:56Speaker 3: And they stopped us.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Someone stopped some official stuff us and said, you can't
- 22:02Speaker 4: even give out a T shirt to get to motivate
- 22:05Speaker 4: people to sign up for voting, not a particular side
- 22:09Speaker 4: or anything like that. So I always wondered when this
- 22:12Speaker 4: came up, It's like, how could that not be a problem.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't. I don't get it either. I have
- 22:19Speaker 2: no problem. And this was a lottery. If you registered
- 22:21Speaker 2: to vote then or you voted, then your name went
- 22:26Speaker 2: into this lottery pool and you got a million dollars
- 22:29Speaker 2: and the checks were handed out and that you're right,
- 22:33Speaker 2: that's not allowed. I don't understand why not, because there
- 22:38Speaker 2: used to be a time when you would come in
- 22:40Speaker 2: with the I voted sticker and you can get half
- 22:43Speaker 2: a dozen donuts from I don't remember which donut shop
- 22:47Speaker 2: there was, and I guess you can't do that either.
- 22:50Speaker 2: And what must Must want to do is to make
- 22:55Speaker 2: sure that a Republican won that campaign because in Wisnsen
- 23:00Speaker 2: you elect the Supreme Court justices. By the way, California
- 23:04Speaker 2: we elect judges too, did you know that? And no
- 23:07Speaker 2: one ever pays attention because the judges either they finish
- 23:13Speaker 2: up their term, which is twelve years, or they resigned
- 23:16Speaker 2: before twelve years, and the governor then appoints, and then
- 23:20Speaker 2: on the election you'll see the name of judges. No
- 23:22Speaker 2: one pays attention, it's just the existing judge. Anyway, Must
- 23:26Speaker 2: lost big time on that one. It was the Democrat
- 23:29Speaker 2: who won. And by the way, we needed the armored
- 23:34Speaker 2: truck just to drive around because we were KFI at
- 23:37Speaker 2: that time.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, we had quite a legalation.
- 23:41Speaker 5: There's some more turnover in Mayor Bass's office. A top
- 23:45Speaker 5: spokesperson for La Mara Bass has left her administration after
- 23:50Speaker 5: a brief tenure. Colby Lee was Bass's director of communications.
- 23:55Speaker 5: He started just in February and has now resigned. He
- 23:59Speaker 5: says to spend more time with family and loved ones.
- 24:03Speaker 5: This is follow several departures which began in October.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Let me ask this question, and that is you take
- 24:12Speaker 2: a job and then ten minutes later you leave it
- 24:15Speaker 2: to spend more time with family and loved ones. Don't
- 24:18Speaker 2: you think that's a little problematic. Also, look at the
- 24:21Speaker 2: number of people who are going through this department. I
- 24:24Speaker 2: mean she's going through the spokespeople the way I change
- 24:27Speaker 2: my underwear about once a week.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:31Speaker 4: Well, in her defense, you don't really have any friends
- 24:35Speaker 4: or family.
- 24:37Speaker 2: That's true, though, or underwear.
- 24:40Speaker 5: This is multiple sorry, just multiple departures. Go ahead, We
- 24:42Speaker 5: already talked about it.
- 24:43Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, she's got to pull the nose up
- 24:46Speaker 4: because the last.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Thing we need is the other.
- 24:52Speaker 5: Candidate.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Yeah, Nitia Rahman. That would be a bad bass.
- 24:57Speaker 5: It's not looking good for Bass. Would this kind of
- 24:59Speaker 5: turnovers since October? She's had one, two, three. This is
- 25:02Speaker 5: the fourth person to leave her office. And if that's
- 25:06Speaker 5: held like a major position, just since October, that's not good.
- 25:11Speaker 5: That means there's something behind this.
- 25:12Speaker 2: See a lot of attacks. She's going to have a
- 25:14Speaker 2: hard time getting over what she did during the fires
- 25:17Speaker 2: when she was in Ghana. And then lied like crazy
- 25:20Speaker 2: to somehow justify it.
- 25:24Speaker 5: And then also the recent boil Heights situation too.
- 25:26Speaker 2: All of that, I think we do have time for
- 25:28Speaker 2: one more.
- 25:30Speaker 3: This is interesting.
- 25:32Speaker 4: New broadcasting guidelines been introduced in Europe to prevent women
- 25:36Speaker 4: athletes from being sexualized through camera angles and slow motion replays.
- 25:41Speaker 4: I think we can all visual that the minute, visualize
- 25:44Speaker 4: that the minute it's said.
- 25:45Speaker 3: You know, those low kind.
- 25:47Speaker 4: Of crouchy shots and everything's in slow motion and all
- 25:53Speaker 4: of those things. So the guidelines worn against lingering shots
- 25:56Speaker 4: of athletes bodies, low camera angles, capture rebutk views slow
- 26:01Speaker 4: motion replays that offer very little technical or storytelling about
- 26:07Speaker 4: why are you smiling?
- 26:08Speaker 3: Cono?
- 26:09Speaker 4: Gees, dude, women's sports might not get a lot of
- 26:12Speaker 4: viewership after this.
- 26:14Speaker 2: It's getting No, it's wait, yeah, good for you, con O,
- 26:17Speaker 2: you misogynous sexist you wow. So anyway, it's true, I
- 26:22Speaker 2: mean women are sexualized. You know, the big thing in
- 26:25Speaker 2: soccer was women wearing blue shorts instead of white shorts
- 26:31Speaker 2: because the when they were on their period, uh, the
- 26:35Speaker 2: it would it would leak through. And no, it's true, No,
- 26:42Speaker 2: it's absolutely true. And know what happened to that first time.
- 26:45Speaker 2: That alone was a fight.
- 26:47Speaker 4: First time on zoom I've ever seen it go in
- 26:50Speaker 4: for a close up on heather.
- 26:52Speaker 3: It literally was.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Like a zoo. It was also you know, it all
- 26:56Speaker 2: started in Europe with a French commentator at a sports
- 27:00Speaker 2: event saying, look at the size of those things.
- 27:04Speaker 5: Oh my god, Bill Handle, you stop it. Well, I
- 27:08Speaker 5: will say volleyball is particularly bad. They do a lot
- 27:11Speaker 5: of booty shots and they have really tight short shorts
- 27:13Speaker 5: in volleyball for women. So I think it's probably a
- 27:16Speaker 5: good idea of maybe you.
- 27:17Speaker 4: Know all that loose clothing the men wear in baseball
- 27:21Speaker 4: and football.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Sure, yeah, all right, we're done, guys. Daylight savings time.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Is it going to be permanent? Is it not? Who's
- 27:30Speaker 2: on which side? And I'll tell you a group of
- 27:33Speaker 2: people that just don't care. This is KFI AM six forty.
- 27:40Speaker 2: You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show. Catch my
- 27:42Speaker 2: Show Monday through Friday six am to nine am, and
