- 0:42Speaker 1: You, you All right.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning y'all.
- 1:52Speaker 1: It's another Thursday.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Come out of the wilderness prayer.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I'm so happy to be here, god is so good and we're gonna get started.
- 2:00Speaker 1: This is part two.
- 2:02Speaker 1: We've been doing a series studying the Amaya, and this one is called the strategy against opposition.
- 2:09Speaker 1: So last week we talked about vision and vision planning.
- 2:12Speaker 1: We're leaning into the study of me and Maya and I'm so excited to share what the Lord has for part two.
- 2:18Speaker 1: So, before we even go any further, lord, we just thank you that you've given us this platform.
- 2:22Speaker 1: We thank you that you've given us your word so that we have methods and instructions and guidance To help us kind of live a better life, lord, and everything that we touch and everything that we do.
- 2:34Speaker 1: We ask, lord, god, that you will Continue to just run this show, father, glorify yourself through being, so that they'll see you and demonstrate your power in their lives, so they'll come to come to know you.
- 2:45Speaker 1: God, amen, y'all.
- 2:47Speaker 1: So today, you know, let me, let me just do a quick recap, and then I do have a couple of notes that I want to share In terms of how we've shifted, because we've shifted the prayer ministry Amen, we shifted it earlier this week and part of the reason that we had to do that.
- 3:05Speaker 1: You know if you, if you attended the sore event and if you didn't, you can watch the replay.
- 3:10Speaker 1: The replay is, it's everywhere on our podcast streets, but it's also on the YouTube Mrs Pie channel.
- 3:15Speaker 1: So please go back and catch the sore or replay sore.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Our sore principles are being spirit-led, obedient, anointed and renewed and again, it was really after a lot of thought and meetings and you know, talking with the women that I consider part of my leadership For this prayer ministry that we really needed to enhance our prayer life and and even the way that we were responding to prayer requests.
- 3:40Speaker 1: So what you guys are seeing on the Thursday channel is Thursday lives.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Thursday prayer has been going on for much longer than the come out of the wilderness prayer ministry, but we have to.
- 3:51Speaker 1: In the same way we had to adjust our Monday and Tuesday prayer sessions, we also have to adjust the Thursday prayer to make sure, again, that this renewed approach aligns to our mission, which is really to give you the tools and the encouragement Through teaching and prayer so that you can grow stronger in your faith and we're all unified, right and also you Come to know the Jesus that I know have a personal relationship with him.
- 4:17Speaker 1: So just a quick recap on what we did last week.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Part one we talked about vision.
- 4:23Speaker 1: We were in, again, the book of Nehemiah.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I go back and watch the replay because we talked about how do you take your concerns before you create those vision boards, how you ask God for guidance on what you're gonna do, so carefully planning out your life, your year, assessing the damage, assessing what you need, the people, the resources.
- 4:45Speaker 1: If you're saying I wanna be leveled up, I wanna be promoted, I need a new job, I wanna start a business, I wanna write a book, last year was really last year.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Last week was really about stepping back before you dive in to create that and assessing all and everything.
- 5:01Speaker 1: So learning about your situation.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Nehemiah was learning about the broken walls and then he prayed for success for his mission.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Then he went to the leaders, he went to the king to ask if he could go to Jerusalem to rebuild the walls and the next thing he did was he inspected the walls at night.
- 5:20Speaker 1: So he was doing his research undercover before he was just jumping forward into the next thing, into building something.
- 5:28Speaker 1: So in part two.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Now, again, I have some other things I wanna share with y'all, but I'm gonna do the lesson and then close the lesson.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna share some things because I want you guys if you are in the prayer ministry on Facebook, even with you again, just a quick call out.
- 5:45Speaker 1: As you're having testimonies of prayers and y'all, we are shaking and shifting some things.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I can't even get the words out.
- 5:53Speaker 1: There's so many amazing blessings.
- 5:56Speaker 1: We are under an overflow of grace in this community and so, as you're getting those prayers answered thank you, nat, for this call out.
- 6:04Speaker 1: That's one of that we should be sharing them on the main page.
- 6:07Speaker 1: So go on and share the testimony so we can help encourage each other.
- 6:10Speaker 1: And, as I'm going through this lesson, if you're someone who's like man, I really need another level of support.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I'm looking for a community, or you just have a prayer request?
- 6:20Speaker 1: You can see the ticker should be rolling.
- 6:22Speaker 1: You can send your prayer request and we are an active prayer community.
- 6:25Speaker 1: We will pray for you.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Okay, everybody.
- 6:27Speaker 1: So that includes everybody who's on all the streets watching us Facebook, twitter, linkedin, parade Deck, fate channel wherever you're watching from.
- 6:37Speaker 1: You're welcome to send those requests and we'll cover you in prayer.
- 6:41Speaker 1: So today we're talking about overcoming opposition, and there's a couple of things that the Lord shared with me before we dive into Nehemiah, chapter four, which is where we're gonna do the majority of our study.
- 6:55Speaker 1: But in this, this is after, again, he had, after Nehemiah had assessed the situation, but he was facing significant opposition and challenges from what we consider external enemies, like not himself, but also internal discouragement, what he was telling himself.
- 7:14Speaker 1: And so what we're gonna talk about today is how we can face and even overcome some of those obstacles while you're going after whatever that dream is or whatever it is, the goals that you had set for this year.
- 7:25Speaker 1: So, if you bear with me, I am going to share my screen.
- 7:30Speaker 1: So let me just grab my screen real quick because I wanna show you guys.
- 7:34Speaker 1: In Nehemiah one this is the ESV version and it talks about opposition to work.
- 7:40Speaker 1: So Nehemiah four, so verse one.
- 7:44Speaker 1: It says now, when Sambalot heard that they were building the wall, he was angry and greatly enraged and he jeered at the Jews and he said, in the presence of his brothers and of the army of Samaria what are these people, jews, doing?
- 7:59Speaker 1: Will they restore it for themselves?
- 8:01Speaker 1: Will they sacrifice?
- 8:02Speaker 1: Will they finish up in a day, will they revive the stones out of the heaps of rubbish, and burned ones at that?
- 8:08Speaker 1: Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him and he say yeah, that's what they're building.
- 8:12Speaker 1: If a fox goes up on it he'll break down their stone wall.
- 8:16Speaker 1: So let's pause here for a second Opposition is real, okay.
- 8:20Speaker 1: So when I was reading this, I was thinking there's even times, if you think about this, in our lives and practical situations.
- 8:28Speaker 1: So, again, because we're talking about faith at work, when you're on the job, maybe you've gotten a new promotion or a new project or taken on even different responsibilities, or maybe things have shifted a little bit on your role and what we call haters, and we used to say, oh, let the haters be emotivated, haters don't need to be emotivated, and I'm gonna show you how you get around this.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Okay, but this situation where just imagine You're in Nehemiah and you've been sent to make these changes and the folks are literally standing around you.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Not only were they making comments, doing commentary, okay, but it says Sambalot was angry and greatly enraged and he jeered.
- 9:18Speaker 1: To be angry and greatly enraged means he had some emotions tied to what Nehemiah was doing, right, even in that environment where he where again, the enemy, for the sake of the term Sambalot was angry and greatly enraged.
- 9:37Speaker 1: So he's throwing out all these commentary, all these negative things he's saying about basically, what are they?
- 9:48Speaker 1: What are these feeble Jews doing?
- 9:51Speaker 1: Right, some of you, as you come into opposition, this is what opposition looks like and it feels terrible, right, when somebody's already looking at your.
- 9:59Speaker 1: You know what is she doing.
- 10:01Speaker 1: What does Mary think she's doing?
- 10:05Speaker 1: She can't build that up.
- 10:06Speaker 1: She's going to finish that project up in a day.
- 10:08Speaker 1: I've been here for 20 years and I haven't done it.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Right, right, a real opposition.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Right.
- 10:15Speaker 1: And in verse seven, where it says but when Sambalot and Tobiah and the Arabs and the Ammonites and the Asherdites heard that the repairing of the walls was going forward, when they heard a thing was still going forward and the breaches, and that the breaches were beginning to close, they were angry.
- 10:31Speaker 1: When the enemy started to see for themselves that this wall, like all the jaring, all the nastiness and all the negativity and all the doubt and all the stones they throwed, it wasn't detracting from what God had put Nehemiah in place to do.
- 10:49Speaker 1: He did not stop the progress.
- 10:51Speaker 1: That's why you got to be careful If you're doing something and God didn't send you and you're asking him for success.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Remember, we talked last week?
- 10:58Speaker 1: Ask God to give you success, but if he didn't send you there, if he didn't send you there, you need to ask do a God check, lord, is this the place that you want me to be?
- 11:09Speaker 1: Right, right?
- 11:11Speaker 1: So here things were going forward, the breaches were beginning to close and the enemy was angry.
- 11:18Speaker 1: They were mad and they plot.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Not only were they mad, they plotted together to come together and fight against Jerusalem and to cause confusion.
- 11:26Speaker 1: They were going to meet at the water cooler and have some conversations.
- 11:30Speaker 1: They were going to go to lunch without you and talk about you behind your back.
- 11:34Speaker 1: They were going to start throwing stones in a different way.
- 11:37Speaker 1: But how did Nehemiah and his team, how did they respond?
- 11:41Speaker 1: Verse nine says and we pray to our God and set a guard as a protection against them, day and night.
- 11:48Speaker 1: So when opposition is coming to you, when you're in that mode, when you feel like you know, listen, I know the Lord put me in this role, I know the Lord gave me this job.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Maybe you're in the job market and you're like look.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I know the Lord told me to inspire me to look in this field and literally everything is moving around you, or people are throwing stones or throwing doubt and all these things.
- 12:10Speaker 1: The position that you're taking is to pray, is to pray and this is a prayer point.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Lord, set a guard of protection against me day and night on this job.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Lord, I pray that you set a guard of protection around me day and night.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Right, that was the response and as you go into the rest of Nehemiah you'll see.
- 12:31Speaker 1: You know how the Lord showed up and showed out.
- 12:35Speaker 1: But that is your response when it comes to opposition on the job.
- 12:39Speaker 1: And I'm going to tell you something, I'm going to show you some.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I'm going to stop sharing my screen.
- 12:42Speaker 1: I'm going to come back and I'm going to tell you something that he was again.
- 12:47Speaker 1: The Lord is ministering to me.
- 12:49Speaker 1: We have a whole, you know we have a whole prayer worship Me and the Holy Spirit and all His angels, right Before I come on to this alive, before I do a prayer, before I have conversations, before I have meetings, before I talk with y'all, before I text.
- 13:09Speaker 1: You know we have whole worship situations going on before, because even out of my mouth I don't want to utter anything that's going to plant a seed of doubt for anyone else, and I'm going to tell you why.
- 13:20Speaker 1: The first thing is first thing that he said to me was that we need to be able to shift from being victims to victors.
- 13:28Speaker 1: We must shift.
- 13:30Speaker 1: It is a product of our mindset.
- 13:33Speaker 1: A lot of us have a victim mentality, and if you have a victim mentality, it means every single thing looks like the enemy is coming at you.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Every response, every time there's a shake up, right.
- 13:47Speaker 1: People go right back to oh, it's just, the enemy is attacking you, the enemy is attacking you, the enemy is attacking you.
- 13:54Speaker 1: But who's bigger, god or the enemy?
- 13:55Speaker 1: Again, sometimes we go through these test trials and situations.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Now think about the story that we're just talking about with Nehemiah and I said Lord, what if Nehemiah and the men around him didn't face any opposition?
- 14:13Speaker 1: It was just a cakewalk.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Then God would not be glorified, right?
- 14:19Speaker 1: Then we could just.
- 14:20Speaker 1: The story would end with Nehemiah went in, he saw some things.
- 14:24Speaker 1: He built the wall.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Boom, yay, nehemiah, right, but it wasn't set up to be that way, right?
- 14:30Speaker 1: So the first thing again he showed me is we've got to move our mindset from being victims to being victors.
- 14:35Speaker 1: When you understand whose side you're on, when you understand how much God loves you, that he is actually sending help, and he sends help with people to come alongside to encourage you.
- 14:49Speaker 1: He sends help through prayer groups.
- 14:51Speaker 1: He sends help through sometimes it's the people on your job.
- 14:55Speaker 1: You will literally plant a seed of favor so that you're getting favor on your job, but sometimes we miss it because it doesn't look like what we think it should look like, right.
- 15:05Speaker 1: So we've got to move from that victim mind, move from being victims to being victor.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I have victory in Christ.
- 15:14Speaker 1: It was so interesting right before I came on, there was a song I shared with my inner circle.
- 15:18Speaker 1: It was a song, but it was specifically for one of the ladies in my circle, but it was all around the word victory and the Lord was just talking to me about telling them about being victorious, because a lot of us have allowed situations to drag us down and we have become victims, and so, therefore, we kind of gave up.
- 15:37Speaker 1: We just kind of gave up.
- 15:39Speaker 1: And so every time there's some rumble, any time there is a situation where it's uncomfortable for us, we fall into victim mode and we forget that we are the victors in Christ, through Christ, with Christ, amen.
- 15:52Speaker 1: That's the first thing.
- 15:53Speaker 1: The second thing is really a call about again for soar and elevation this year.
- 16:01Speaker 1: So all over the social media streets you can throw a rock and hit a profit at this point, because everybody's a profit, right.
- 16:10Speaker 1: But all over the social media streets TikTok, facebook, everybody, youtube you hear people talking about soaring, and not really soaring, but elevation and acceleration.
- 16:20Speaker 1: It's a theme that happens every year.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you what.
- 16:25Speaker 1: But what he was showing me is that a lot of you who are asking God to elevate you and to accelerate you, you are not, is not going to happen because it requires change.
- 16:36Speaker 1: So imagine you're a bird taking off using the eagle, because that's what resonates with me.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Imagine you have to change your flight pattern and a lot of y'all aren't going to take off because you refuse to change your flight pattern.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I've been doing this, this job, for 15 years, and how dare they ask me to take on something new?
- 16:59Speaker 1: I want to be promoted, but my boss won't promote me.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Stubbornness and fear and doubt.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Stubbornness and fear and doubt, and so therefore, you become your own opposition.
- 17:11Speaker 1: So, while we're talking about Nehemiah and and that event where the people around him were the opposition.
- 17:19Speaker 1: A lot of you.
- 17:20Speaker 1: You're your own opposition.
- 17:22Speaker 1: You are the ones telling yourselves that I ain't going to do that because you know I've been working here longer.
- 17:27Speaker 1: And who do they think they are?
- 17:28Speaker 1: You, literally are the opposition.
- 17:30Speaker 1: You have become the kind of person on the job Come on, christian women you become the kind of person on your job that nobody wants to bring you a new idea because you're going to tell them how you've been doing it for 20 years.
- 17:42Speaker 1: You refuse to move, you refuse to move and so, therefore, you will not soar or elevate this year, because you are stuck, you won't take off, and I'm just telling you that if you want elevation, if you want change, you're going to have to move, you're going to have to.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Father, show me what it is, show me where I want to go.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Father, I desire more.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I desire to be the blessing in my family.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Father, I desire to be the breakthrough on my job.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I want to.
- 18:12Speaker 1: You know, I want all those prayers that you're praying and then, when he comes to you and say okay, okay, okay, okay, sarah, that in order for you to do this thing, there's some, some things in your heart you got to get rid of unforgiveness.
- 18:25Speaker 1: You got to get him get rid of your stubbornness.
- 18:27Speaker 1: You got to get past that fear.
- 18:29Speaker 1: You got to let go of doubt and then and then your response is that maybe next year.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Right, so I urge you that, that you, you again, as you're asking God, lord, I want to be more spirit.
- 18:40Speaker 1: That's why sort is not just about taking off, that's why we had to have a foundation.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Y'all, spirit led and listen, obedient.
- 18:48Speaker 1: You can't, you can't do this this walk this year without being spirit led, meaning it's the Holy spirit, is God leading you.
- 18:56Speaker 1: He's involved in your conversation.
- 18:57Speaker 1: He's so involved in the ministry work that I do.
- 19:00Speaker 1: He's literally running the show, like literally running the show and I'm okay with it.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Amen, thank you, lord.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Right, so you got to be spirit led, which means you got to have a relationship, a one on one, with Jesus.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Amen, right, this is your.
- 19:15Speaker 1: You come into the lives and you come to our prayer cause and you get refilled and you get renewed and you get attached.
- 19:23Speaker 1: You get some of the grace, the overflow of grace that we're having, your sharing in the encounters and the miracles, all those amazing things that's happening within our community.
- 19:31Speaker 1: But listen, you still have to have a relationship with Jesus, one on one, one on one, and you got to be obedient to the things that he's asking you to do for yourself so that you can you know, you'll know how to deal with the opposition Right, so that you can walk in the anointing what he's called you to do.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Until you won't, you won't fall apart.
- 19:51Speaker 1: You'll be renewed every time, all right, so I want to share a really quick.
- 19:57Speaker 1: I found this really quick story that on on the social media streets and this is related to you know what we're talking about this morning.
- 20:06Speaker 1: It was written by Greg Lowry from Harvest Org.
- 20:09Speaker 1: So I'm going to read this to you and I know we're running close on time, but I don't want to rush this morning because this is for somebody we're also going.
- 20:15Speaker 1: I'm going to share the declaration that we do within our prayer ministry because, again, I think it's going to bless somebody, especially those we got.
- 20:24Speaker 1: We got a lot of people who watch our replays and so, especially y'all, go ahead and take a picture when I show them, to share my screen so you can see the declaration.
- 20:32Speaker 1: If you're in the prayer ministry, you already have a copy of this, but I want to share that with you guys so that you can start speaking life over yourself every day before you go into the job, on your lunch break, at night, when you're doing prayer.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I'm going to give you those words so that this would help you.
- 20:48Speaker 1: But I just want to share a little quickly.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Greg Lowry at Harvest Org.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I found this on the on the internet and it was an article that he wrote regarding Moses, exodus 5, 22 through 23.
- 20:59Speaker 1: So you can go back and look and the word says Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people?
- 21:04Speaker 1: Why is it you've sent me?
- 21:07Speaker 1: For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has done evil to this people.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Neither have you delivered your people at all.
- 21:14Speaker 1: So what he was sharing was that Moses knew it wasn't going to be easy.
- 21:19Speaker 1: He was disappointed, he was delusion, and so he called on the Lord this, this, this thing that the Lord had asked me to do.
- 21:26Speaker 1: But he said that Greg was saying that he thought that Moses was a little shocked by how unresponsive Pharaoh was, despite all the miracles that God did through Moses.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Pharaoh's heart became hard and then Moses had to learn for himself that being in the will of God doesn't always mean you're going to be free from opposition.
- 21:47Speaker 1: I am operating in the will of God, but trust and believe, that doesn't free me from opposition.
- 21:52Speaker 1: It's coming from all sides.
- 21:54Speaker 1: And so sometimes, you know, we, when we commit our lives to Christ, if you're a new Christian or you know you're, you're coming into a new year and you're saying I'm going to, I'm going to revive my relationship with the Lord and you choose to follow him.
- 22:08Speaker 1: You know, sometimes people think that that just means you're going to have green lights and smooth sailing, as Greg says, and instead you're going to find yourself with opposition.
- 22:17Speaker 1: We're going to experience pushback from unexpected places and that might be your family, your friends from nonbelievers, your boss, your community members that that opposition will come.
- 22:30Speaker 1: But your response isn't to run into victim mode.
- 22:33Speaker 1: These are Shelley, this Shelley talk and not not this gentleman, greg.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Your response isn't to go into victim mode.
- 22:38Speaker 1: In the same way I showed you in Nehemiah, their response was to ask God for protection.
- 22:43Speaker 1: They activated the word of God, god's promises, over them themselves and the situation.
- 22:49Speaker 1: So go back into Nehemiah, for the word says and we pray to our God and set a guard as protection against them, day and night, amen, amen.
- 23:00Speaker 1: So now I'm going to show, I'm going to share with you guys a declaration that I'm going to do close out and pray, and I pray that speak this.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Oh, like I said, speak this over yourself, give it to your kids, your aunties, your coworkers, who could use a, who could use a lift up.
- 23:15Speaker 1: You know, let's, let's speak life over ourselves.
- 23:18Speaker 1: And when we say speak life again, when we say speak life, go back to Genesis one, verse one.
- 23:23Speaker 1: It's not just a phrase that we throw out Amen.
- 23:26Speaker 1: So the declaration I declare this day that no weapon formed against me can prosper.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Isaiah 54, 17.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Because I am the righteousness of God.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Favor surrounds me as a shield, divine protection surrounds me as a shield.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Psalm 512,.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I am therefore in the right place at the right time.
- 23:43Speaker 1: I cannot be defeated or destroyed.
- 23:46Speaker 1: In fact, every tongue that accuses me, every tongue that attacks me, I condemn with my words.
- 23:52Speaker 1: This is my heritage, this is my right as a child of God, made in his image, made with his dominion and authority living in me, coming forth out of my spirit through my words.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Isaiah 54-17.
- 24:06Speaker 1: I declare today that Satan has no power over my life, that every weapon he has has been defeated, that fear is cast out, that love makes my faith work and therefore I cannot fail.
- 24:18Speaker 1: God's word cannot fail and that's what I'm made of His word, made in his image, after his likeness, with the power of the Holy Spirit and authority of his words.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Therefore, by the blood of Jesus, I dwell in the secret place of the most high.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I say of the Lord you're my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I will trust.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Amen, y'all.
- 24:42Speaker 1: You cannot, you cannot not be activated after you release that declaration over your life.
- 24:49Speaker 1: You know, I'm all for affirmations.
