Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Oh, what's going on, guys? It is a Sunday night,
- 0:03Speaker 1: a rare TNA pay per view recap. You know, I
- 0:07Speaker 1: kicked off the year with TNA Genesis, actually the very
- 0:10Speaker 1: beginning of the year, and we got to see Joe
- 0:13Speaker 1: Hendry win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship for the first time.
- 0:18Speaker 1: We thought he might win it last summer. They dragged
- 0:21Speaker 1: it out, and they dragged it out, and finally he
- 0:23Speaker 1: was able to win the big one. And then I
- 0:27Speaker 1: bought Slammiversary with the hope that we might see Mike
- 0:31Speaker 1: Santana do the same thing. They were at the UBS
- 0:33Speaker 1: Arena on Long Island here in New York, Mike Santana
- 0:37Speaker 1: in his home state, a lot of friends, a lot
- 0:39Speaker 1: of family there. They didn't do it. Trick Williams remains
- 0:43Speaker 1: the TNA World Heavyweight Champion. And so now we head
- 0:47Speaker 1: into what we had tonight, the biggest TNA show of
- 0:51Speaker 1: the year, traditionally bound for glory, their big event of
- 0:54Speaker 1: the year, Mike Santana one on one with Trick Williams
- 0:57Speaker 1: trying to not just win his first world champion in TNA,
- 1:00Speaker 1: but also bring the gold back home where it belongs,
- 1:05Speaker 1: not on an NXT Star. Right, he's trying to rescue
- 1:08Speaker 1: the championship. This was going to be his big moment.
- 1:12Speaker 1: And when I think of Mike Santana, there's just there's
- 1:16Speaker 1: so much there, because when I think of Mike Santana,
- 1:19Speaker 1: I think of someone who lost fourteen years or fourteen years,
- 1:24Speaker 1: fourteen months. I'm sure to him it felt like years,
- 1:28Speaker 1: fourteen months of his career to a torn acl that
- 1:32Speaker 1: he suffered in blooding guts. This is a man who
- 1:37Speaker 1: battled his demons. He went to rehab, right, he had
- 1:39Speaker 1: a lot of personal struggles in his life, and he
- 1:44Speaker 1: comes back and he doesn't want to settle, you know,
- 1:46Speaker 1: he wants to take a chance and bet on himself.
- 1:49Speaker 1: He wants to break out on his own because he
- 1:51Speaker 1: believes in his head and in his heart that he
- 1:54Speaker 1: can do things on his own that some people probably
- 1:57Speaker 1: told him would never be possible because you're a team wrestler, right,
- 2:01Speaker 1: You'll never be a world heavyweight champion. You can't be
- 2:04Speaker 1: a single champion. You're a tag team guy. And he
- 2:08Speaker 1: felt that he could do more than that. So he
- 2:10Speaker 1: had a sure thing and he said, I don't want
- 2:13Speaker 1: to do this anymore, and he left aw to bet
- 2:17Speaker 1: on himself and go out on his own. And I
- 2:21Speaker 1: could tell you that in House of Glory he had
- 2:23Speaker 1: the chance to be a world champion and show the
- 2:25Speaker 1: world what he can do. He had the chance to
- 2:28Speaker 1: go in there against big names that we would bring
- 2:30Speaker 1: in every single month. Right line him up, I'll knock
- 2:33Speaker 1: him down, and the resume the portfolio of work of
- 2:36Speaker 1: matches that he put together in that time that he
- 2:38Speaker 1: had that championship five hundred and fifty four days as
- 2:42Speaker 1: the House of Glory World Champion. Heard Tom Hanifin give
- 2:44Speaker 1: a shout out to Hog tonight. The history that he
- 2:48Speaker 1: has in that promotion and the work that he put
- 2:51Speaker 1: in as the world champion is what helped prepare him
- 2:53Speaker 1: for this moment tonight where he was in the main
- 2:57Speaker 1: event of this show, challenging for a champion for one
- 3:00Speaker 1: of the biggest companies in the entire country, a company
- 3:03Speaker 1: that currently has a partnership and an ongoing relationship going
- 3:07Speaker 1: with WWE, and he is now the TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Mike Santana finally got his moment that maybe some people
- 3:16Speaker 1: thought he would never have, and it was a great moment.
- 3:19Speaker 1: His family was there, his daughter was in the front
- 3:22Speaker 1: row bringing his daughter into the ring and handing her
- 3:25Speaker 1: the championship. It was a great moment, and I am
- 3:29Speaker 1: glad that TNA did the right thing. I don't know
- 3:31Speaker 1: that there was ever any dabt. It always seemed as
- 3:33Speaker 1: if this was kind of foregone. This had to be
- 3:36Speaker 1: Santana's moment, because again Bound for Glory last year, they
- 3:40Speaker 1: didn't put the title on Joe Hendry. They dragged it
- 3:43Speaker 1: out until Genesis this year, so who's to say they
- 3:45Speaker 1: wouldn't have done the same thing. I'm glad they did.
- 3:48Speaker 1: The fans there in Lowell, Massachusetts, it might not have
- 3:51Speaker 1: been New York, but they were very happy to see
- 3:54Speaker 1: Mike Santana win that championship. I could have done without
- 3:57Speaker 1: the silliness there after the match, which we'll get into.
- 4:01Speaker 1: But that wasn't the only emotional moment on the show
- 4:04Speaker 1: seeing him win that championship. There was another match on
- 4:06Speaker 1: the show, and you know I talked about John Cena
- 4:10Speaker 1: and AJ Styles just yes, there's so much fucking wrestling.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I just did a review yesterday for Crown Jewel and
- 4:16Speaker 1: we had John Cena and AJ Styles, and I mentioned
- 4:19Speaker 1: that it felt like the end of an era in
- 4:21Speaker 1: many ways, because these two men came up around the
- 4:24Speaker 1: same time, and here we are now, you know, all
- 4:27Speaker 1: these twenty plus years later, and now Scene is retiring,
- 4:30Speaker 1: and AJ's retiring, and ton of Hashi's retiring in a
- 4:33Speaker 1: few months, and it really does feel like the passing
- 4:36Speaker 1: of the guard, and you know, the end of an era.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Tonight felt like the end of an era. We got
- 4:42Speaker 1: two of these moments in the same weekend, because tonight
- 4:45Speaker 1: we had the Hardys and we had the Dudleys and
- 4:48Speaker 1: what they called one Final Table where the Hardys were
- 4:52Speaker 1: putting all of their championships on the line, TNA Tag
- 4:55Speaker 1: Team titles, NXT te well not all of them, I guess,
- 4:57Speaker 1: but TNA Tag Team titles and the XT Tag Team
- 5:01Speaker 1: titles that they just won from Dark State on Tuesday Night.
- 5:05Speaker 1: And they went out there tonight. And there may be
- 5:07Speaker 1: some divided opinion about the match itself in terms of
- 5:11Speaker 1: the quality of the match or the way the match ended.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I can tell you the what I thought we got
- 5:16Speaker 1: tonight from these two teams was the best that they
- 5:19Speaker 1: had to offer, because these are two teams that ushered
- 5:23Speaker 1: in an era of wrestling, and maybe they have some
- 5:25Speaker 1: regrets about that era of wrestling. They ushered in the
- 5:29Speaker 1: era of the TLC match, the tables, the latters, the chairs,
- 5:33Speaker 1: the crazy bumps and all of the injuries in agony
- 5:37Speaker 1: that come with it. They were wearing them on their faces.
- 5:40Speaker 1: They were wearing you could see the battle scar just
- 5:43Speaker 1: in the way they were moving around. Tonight, I was
- 5:45Speaker 1: watching Devon Dudley, you know, wrestle his last match tonight.
- 5:49Speaker 1: That's what he has said before that this was going
- 5:51Speaker 1: to be it. And I'm watching Devon and just you
- 5:53Speaker 1: know how he was moving. He's had his health issues.
- 5:56Speaker 1: He almost lost his life, you know, a very serious
- 5:59Speaker 1: situation withvon in the last few years. He's lucky to
- 6:01Speaker 1: be alive, and he's in the ring and he's moving
- 6:03Speaker 1: very gingerly, but you know what, he's hitting all of
- 6:06Speaker 1: his high spots. He's giving everything he's got. Bully Ray
- 6:10Speaker 1: right doesn't move around the way he did ten twenty
- 6:12Speaker 1: thirty years ago, but he's in there giving everything he's got.
- 6:15Speaker 1: And the Hardy's right now are on this expedition of gold.
- 6:18Speaker 1: They have found this renewed success, winning championships all over
- 6:23Speaker 1: the place. One of the top attractions in TNA and
- 6:26Speaker 1: we'll see where they end up, because supposedly their contracts
- 6:29Speaker 1: are up next month and we don't know what their
- 6:32Speaker 1: future holds. But they went out there tonight and they
- 6:36Speaker 1: gave you everything they got. You know, they laid it
- 6:38Speaker 1: all on the line, or on the table, as it were.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I thought what we got from them tonight was a
- 6:44Speaker 1: good match. It was the best possible match that you
- 6:47Speaker 1: could have expected from these two teams. And then we
- 6:50Speaker 1: got a very emotional moment when the match was over
- 6:53Speaker 1: where the Dudleys unlaced their boots and removed their boots
- 6:59Speaker 1: and and them to Matt and Jeff Hardy, signifying the
- 7:03Speaker 1: end of the Dudley Boys. And what a more fitting
- 7:06Speaker 1: end to the Dudley Boys than to hand their boots
- 7:08Speaker 1: off to one of the teams that they had some
- 7:11Speaker 1: of their greatest matches and most memorable matches with, and
- 7:14Speaker 1: they all shared and embraced in the ring. If you
- 7:16Speaker 1: remember the end of an Era match at WrestleMania many
- 7:19Speaker 1: years ago, the Hug on the stage in Miami with
- 7:22Speaker 1: Undertaker and Triple H and Sean Michaels and they, you know,
- 7:26Speaker 1: they're all embracing and they're looking at at the crowd,
- 7:29Speaker 1: the Hardy's and the Dudley's had their own moment like
- 7:32Speaker 1: that tonight here of Bound for Glory, and I'm glad
- 7:35Speaker 1: that it was able to happen on a s I mean,
- 7:37Speaker 1: it may not have been WWE where they had all
- 7:39Speaker 1: those TLC matches, but you know, they had a lot
- 7:42Speaker 1: of fans in the building and a lot of eyes
- 7:43Speaker 1: on this show tonight, and I'm glad they were able
- 7:46Speaker 1: to do something like that on that kind of a stage.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Twenty five years later, twenty five years ago this year
- 7:54Speaker 1: is when we have the first TLC match, a very
- 7:58Speaker 1: appropriate ending, i think, to the career of the Dudley Boys.
- 8:03Speaker 1: We had an absolutely sensational X Division Championship match on
- 8:08Speaker 1: this show with Leon Slater and Javan Evans marred by
- 8:13Speaker 1: one of the worst finishes that you will ever see
- 8:16Speaker 1: to a match like this on supposedly this company's biggest
- 8:19Speaker 1: pay per view of the year. You would watch the
- 8:22Speaker 1: finish of this match and think that this match was
- 8:24Speaker 1: airing on an episode of Impact or NXT. It's hard
- 8:30Speaker 1: to reconcile just how great that match was and how
- 8:33Speaker 1: fucking god awful the finish of that match was. Here tonight.
- 8:38Speaker 1: But that being said, it was still an awesome match,
- 8:41Speaker 1: and as far as my overall thoughts of the show,
- 8:43Speaker 1: there were some mind boggling booking decisions in the Call
- 8:47Speaker 1: Your Shot Gauntlet that we'll talk about, and then what
- 8:50Speaker 1: I just mentioned in the X Division Championship match, and
- 8:52Speaker 1: even the silliness that came after the main event when
- 8:56Speaker 1: Nemath came out and Kazarian and it was just that
- 8:59Speaker 1: was completely necessary what they did there at the very
- 9:01Speaker 1: end of the show. That being said, they sent the
- 9:04Speaker 1: show home the right way with those last two matches.
- 9:08Speaker 1: They did the right thing. We got some big moments
- 9:10Speaker 1: out of it. When it was over, I felt like
- 9:12Speaker 1: it was thirty four to ninety five. For me, it
- 9:14Speaker 1: was thirty four to ninety five well spent on this show.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I enjoyed this show on the whole, despite some of
- 9:20Speaker 1: the silliness and some of the questionable decisions. We also
- 9:24Speaker 1: had a quick cameo by the returning Chris Bay. It
- 9:28Speaker 1: was great to see Chris Bay on the show. He
- 9:30Speaker 1: didn't get the kind of reaction I was kind of
- 9:32Speaker 1: expecting or hoping he might get when he walked out there,
- 9:35Speaker 1: but they sent him out there to announce that TNA
- 9:37Speaker 1: tonight set their new North American attendance record. They claimed
- 9:43Speaker 1: of seven thousand, seven hundred ninety four fans in Lowell,
- 9:48Speaker 1: Massachusetts for this show. I'm sorry, I'm gonna have to
- 9:52Speaker 1: see the turnstyle count on that before I can verify this.
- 9:57Speaker 1: That's what we need now in wrestley. We need to
- 9:58Speaker 1: see the turnstyle camp or else it doesn't count. It's
- 10:01Speaker 1: not official. This is your TNA Bound for Glory twenty
- 10:07Speaker 1: twenty five review. I am the Solemn Monster. Thank you
- 10:09Speaker 1: guys for hanging out with me. Aren't a rare TNA
- 10:12Speaker 1: Sunday night stream. This is TNA's biggest show of the year.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I had to see Mike Santana win that championship tonight,
- 10:18Speaker 1: and I really wanted to see that Javon Evans Leon
- 10:21Speaker 1: Slater match, and I'm excited to talk about that a
- 10:24Speaker 1: little bit later. On my second Leon Slater match of
- 10:27Speaker 1: the weekend, I got to call his match with the
- 10:28Speaker 1: Amazing Red on Friday Night. One of the great young
- 10:32Speaker 1: shining stars in wrestling today is Leon Slater and Javon
- 10:36Speaker 1: Evans too, so that's why I was looking forward to
- 10:39Speaker 1: that match. Like and subscribe super chats are open. If
- 10:43Speaker 1: we get any that come in, any questions comments about
- 10:45Speaker 1: the show, you will see them pop up on your
- 10:48Speaker 1: screen and I will be reading them a little bit
- 10:50Speaker 1: later on here in the stream. So let us not
- 10:54Speaker 1: waste any time. Let me do you just mention that
- 10:56Speaker 1: episode nine thirty three of the sound Off, all two
- 10:59Speaker 1: hours of it, dropped earlier this afternoon, So if you
- 11:02Speaker 1: have not yet had a chance to listen to the podcast,
- 11:05Speaker 1: I do hope that you will do so tomorrow morning.
- 11:08Speaker 1: It'll be there waiting for you in your Spotify, your
- 11:11Speaker 1: Apple Podcasts, or however you get your shows. But please
- 11:14Speaker 1: go ahead and check that out. And the Crown Jewel
- 11:17Speaker 1: review is up as well from yesterday. Tom Hannifin and
- 11:22Speaker 1: Matthew ray Wall as usual, they handled the commentary for
- 11:26Speaker 1: this show. I'll just mention real quick. They had a
- 11:28Speaker 1: pre show and on the pre show they had some
- 11:32Speaker 1: Hall of Fame inductions and they had a modest setup
- 11:36Speaker 1: for the Hall of Fame. It was in the arena.
- 11:38Speaker 1: They had a small podium in the back of the
- 11:40Speaker 1: arena with enough fans behind them that it kind of
- 11:43Speaker 1: looked filled in and Tommy Dreamer inducted the beautiful people
- 11:48Speaker 1: into the Hall of Fame, and they had Lisa Marie Verone,
- 11:53Speaker 1: the former Victoria or Tara in TNA, former Knockouts Champion,
- 11:58Speaker 1: who actually walked out with the original belt, the original
- 12:01Speaker 1: version of the Knockouts Championship. She did the induction for
- 12:05Speaker 1: Mickey James and Mickey's speech. I would say Mickey's speech
- 12:10Speaker 1: was probably around ten minutes or so. They were very
- 12:14Speaker 1: economical with the Hall of Fame speeches, probably because they
- 12:17Speaker 1: had a pre show match to get to. I would
- 12:20Speaker 1: have just in that case, I would have given a
- 12:21Speaker 1: little more time to the speeches and just you know,
- 12:24Speaker 1: ditch the pre show match. But in her speech, Mickey
- 12:27Speaker 1: James actually gave a shout out to one cm Punk
- 12:31Speaker 1: because Mickey in her early days in TNA was part
- 12:36Speaker 1: of the same faction with Cmpunk. They were part of
- 12:40Speaker 1: a little group called the Gathering, which was only together
- 12:43Speaker 1: for a few months back in two thousand and three.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Raven was a part of that group as well, so
- 12:48Speaker 1: she did give a shout out to them. That pre
- 12:50Speaker 1: show match, by the way, had the inspiration retaining their
- 12:53Speaker 1: Knockouts tag team titles over the Elegance brand. Today's episode
- 12:58Speaker 1: is sponsored by Betterhelp. Life can be tough for all
- 13:01Speaker 1: of us. Therapy has lots of benefits, whether it's coping
- 13:04Speaker 1: with the loss in your life, learning how to heal
- 13:07Speaker 1: broken relationships, or find out things about yourself that you
- 13:10Speaker 1: never even knew about. Better Health therapists have helped over
- 13:13Speaker 1: five million people worldwide on their mental health journeys. That's
- 13:17Speaker 1: a lot of lives change for the better. October tenth,

- 13:27Speaker 1: honoring those therapists that help make the world a better place,
- 13:30Speaker 1: one connection at a time. I've used the platform myself
- 13:33Speaker 1: in the past, although my reasons for doing still seem
- 13:36Speaker 1: trivial by comparison when I think of some of the
- 13:38Speaker 1: more serious issues that people have tried to address through
- 13:40Speaker 1: Better Help. But what I can tell you is that
- 13:42Speaker 1: even for me, I found it to be incredibly helpful
- 13:45Speaker 1: just to have someone to talk to, and I appreciated that,
- 13:49Speaker 1: and if it helped me, I know it can help
- 13:51Speaker 1: you too. Finding the right therapists can be life changing,
- 13:55Speaker 1: and better Help makes that process simple. Better Help does
- 13:58Speaker 1: the initial matching work for you so that you can
- 14:00Speaker 1: focus on your therapy goals. You fill out a short
- 14:03Speaker 1: questionnaire that helps identify your needs and preferences, and their
- 14:07Speaker 1: twelve plus years of experience and industry leading match fulfillment
- 14:11Speaker 1: rate mean that they usually get it right the first time.
- 14:14Speaker 1: But if for any reason you're not happy with your match,
- 14:16Speaker 1: you can switch to a different therapist at any time
- 14:19Speaker 1: and all Better Help therapists work according to a strict
- 14:22Speaker 1: code of conduct and are fully licensed in the US
- 14:25Speaker 1: and as the world's largest online therapy platform with over
- 14:28Speaker 1: thirty thousand therapists, better Help has an average rating of
- 14:32Speaker 1: four point nine out of five for a live session
- 14:35Speaker 1: based on more than one point seven million client reviews.
- 14:38Speaker 1: The numbers speak for themselves. This World Mental Health Day,
- 14:42Speaker 1: we're celebrating the therapists who have helped millions of people
- 14:45Speaker 1: take a step forward. If you're ready to find the
- 14:48Speaker 1: right therapist for you, Better Help can help you start
- 14:51Speaker 1: that journey. Solo Monster listeners get ten percent off their
- 14:54Speaker 1: first month at betterhelp dot com slash solom Monster. That's
- 14:58Speaker 1: better Help h elp dot com slash slo Monster. Then
- 15:04Speaker 1: we got into the main card and the main card
- 15:07Speaker 1: opened with Steve Macklin challenging Frankie Kazarian for Kazarians TNA
- 15:13Speaker 1: International Championship. Macklin came out first and he had a
- 15:18Speaker 1: moment with his mom, who was in the crowd at ringside,
- 15:21Speaker 1: and she would actually end up becoming a small part
- 15:24Speaker 1: of this match. A little bit later on. Kazarian's entrance followed,
- 15:29Speaker 1: and Macklin hit Kazarian with the suicide dive, then he
- 15:32Speaker 1: rolled him into the ring. The referee called for the bell.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Kazarian came back and hit a sunset bomb that pulled
- 15:38Speaker 1: Macklin from the apron hard to the floor, and there
- 15:41Speaker 1: was no Oh, let me hold on to the rope
- 15:43Speaker 1: for a few seconds and then I'll let go. No, no, no,
- 15:46Speaker 1: He just fucking took him down to the mat and
- 15:49Speaker 1: slammed him on the floor outside so again, Kazarian went
- 15:54Speaker 1: over to taunt Macklan's mother in the crowd, and Macklan's
- 15:58Speaker 1: mom stood up and she flipped him the double bird
- 16:03Speaker 1: right to the man's face. This woman had no fear
- 16:06Speaker 1: and she was proud of it too. She had a
- 16:07Speaker 1: smile on her face when she did it. I like this, lady,
- 16:12Speaker 1: I like this lady. We've moved on from Trent's mom
- 16:17Speaker 1: to Macklan's mom. That's the new thing now. So late
- 16:22Speaker 1: in the match, Kazarian paid tribute to AJ Styles with
- 16:26Speaker 1: a Pelle kick, as AJ did to him just yesterday
- 16:30Speaker 1: at Crown Jewel. AJ used the fade to black or
- 16:34Speaker 1: you know the Hangman page dead eye, but Kazarian did
- 16:37Speaker 1: it first, and so this was Kazarian, I guess paying
- 16:41Speaker 1: it back to Is this gonna be the new thing
- 16:43Speaker 1: now where wrestlers are just going to do each other's
- 16:45Speaker 1: moves and they're going to just pay tribute to each
- 16:47Speaker 1: other back and forth every week. So anyway, he paid
- 16:50Speaker 1: it back to AJ Styles. He also did the Christopher
- 16:53Speaker 1: Daniels Angels Wings as AJ did in his match with
- 16:56Speaker 1: John Cena yesterday. Kaz And set up for a fade
- 17:01Speaker 1: to black from the middle row, but Macklin avoided it.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Macklin got Kazarian in the Tree of Woe, hit a spear,
- 17:08Speaker 1: and then Macklin followed up with the Kia double Underhook
- 17:12Speaker 1: DDT the Drew MacIntyre future Shock for those who don't know,
- 17:18Speaker 1: and he won the championship and after the match, Carlos
- 17:22Speaker 1: Silva entered the ring. This was a This is a
- 17:24Speaker 1: pattern on all of these TNA shows. Carlos Silva will
- 17:27Speaker 1: always get into the ring to present the champion with
- 17:30Speaker 1: their title when the match is over, and so this
- 17:33Speaker 1: was the first of many times that we saw him
- 17:35Speaker 1: doing this on this show. He got into the ring,
- 17:37Speaker 1: he presented the belt to Macklin. Macklin went over and
- 17:40Speaker 1: kissed his mom at ringside, and they both flipped the
- 17:43Speaker 1: bird to the camera because why not. I know, if
- 17:46Speaker 1: I won the championship, that's the first thing I would do.
- 17:49Speaker 1: I would flip off everybody watching in TV land. Good
- 17:53Speaker 1: to know that he has that kind of relationship with
- 17:55Speaker 1: his mom where they have that in common. I thought
- 17:58Speaker 1: it was a solid opener. They opened with a title change.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I think the I just noticed as far as the arena,
- 18:06Speaker 1: the Songest Center in Lowell, Massachusetts is where they were.
- 18:10Speaker 1: I thought it looked good on TV. It looked good.
- 18:13Speaker 1: You can see, you know, empty seats in the crowd,
- 18:16Speaker 1: but you know it was mostly full. I just liked
- 18:18Speaker 1: the aesthetics. I just thought it looked nice and it looked,
- 18:22Speaker 1: you know, big time for a TNA pay per view.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I mean, they weren't in like a huge arena or
- 18:27Speaker 1: anything like a big dome or anything. But I liked it.
- 18:30Speaker 1: I liked the look of the show. I liked the
- 18:31Speaker 1: isleway they had. I think they put more seats in,
- 18:34Speaker 1: so they sort of they may have actually downsized the
- 18:38Speaker 1: staging in the aisleway a little bit to accommodate more fans.
- 18:42Speaker 1: But again they claimed that they set their new North
- 18:45Speaker 1: American attendance record. I know Wressell Ticks had mentioned they
- 18:48Speaker 1: were up around sixty three or sixty four hundred seats.
- 18:52Speaker 1: They ended up announcing seventy seven hundred, So maybe the
- 18:56Speaker 1: truth is somewhere in the middle. But for TNA, that's
- 18:59Speaker 1: a lot of people. Now, after this, we had Tessa
- 19:02Speaker 1: Blanchard with Victoria Crawford, the former Alicia Fox in her
- 19:08Speaker 1: corner against Ga Miller, who entered with Jody Threat in
- 19:13Speaker 1: her corner. The same Jody Threat who is likely going
- 19:15Speaker 1: to lose her championship in Winnipeg next weekend to one
- 19:20Speaker 1: Mercedes Monette when Mercedes wins title number eleven. But that's
- 19:26Speaker 1: next weekend, that's October nineteenth, So Jody Threat was in
- 19:30Speaker 1: her corner. Now, for those who don't know, gam Miller
- 19:33Speaker 1: has been an interviewer in TNA now for about five years.
- 19:38Speaker 1: She does wrestle independently, but I believe this was I
- 19:41Speaker 1: believe her first match in TNA, or at least one
- 19:45Speaker 1: of the few that she's had in the last five
- 19:47Speaker 1: or six years in this company. She's an interviewer. She's
- 19:49Speaker 1: an announcer and interviewer. This is not a spot that
- 19:52Speaker 1: you would usually find her in. But there was an
- 19:55Speaker 1: angle that they shot going back to Slammiversary with her
- 19:58Speaker 1: and Tessa Blanchard where she attacked Ga Miller and as
- 20:03Speaker 1: a result, Santino Morella suspended Tesla Blanchard, and remember it's Slammiversary,
- 20:07Speaker 1: she had to physically be removed. She was carried out
- 20:11Speaker 1: of the building and we had not seen her since. Now.
- 20:16Speaker 1: As far as the reason why Tessa disappeared for a
- 20:19Speaker 1: few months and has only just recently re emerged, we
- 20:23Speaker 1: got our answer today from one Tessa Blanchard herself on
- 20:28Speaker 1: her YouTube channel, because she posted a video letting everybody
- 20:32Speaker 1: know that the reason that she was missing for the
- 20:33Speaker 1: past three months is that she got a boob job.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Here you go. She said it was something that she
- 20:41Speaker 1: had been thinking about for a long time and she
- 20:43Speaker 1: decided to go ahead and do it. The new one,
- 20:47Speaker 1: improved Tessa Blanchard, Roderick says, eleven. When did she win
- 20:54Speaker 1: number ten? Roderick, you got to keep up with the
- 20:56Speaker 1: times man. Mercedes won her tenth championship and tied Ultimo
- 21:01Speaker 1: Dragon this past Friday in Denmark. So she is now
- 21:08Speaker 1: ten belts Monet, and next weekend she will be eleven
- 21:12Speaker 1: belts Monee, and after that she will be twelve belts Monee.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Because the train keeps going, the train is not going
- 21:18Speaker 1: to stop. It's the way it goes. You know. Indy
- 21:25Speaker 1: Hartwell is the reigning HG Women's World champion. Mercedes beat
- 21:32Speaker 1: Indy in House of Glory back in March. Don't tell
- 21:37Speaker 1: Mercedes this though. So Blanchard was very nonplus with Gia's
- 21:43Speaker 1: offense earlier. She clearly was not taking this woman seriously.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Blanchard offered her a headlock, which she took, but Tessa
- 21:50Speaker 1: quickly escaped. Blanchard turned her back and Gia got a
- 21:55Speaker 1: quick cradle for a near fall. And at that point
- 21:58Speaker 1: Tessa stopped screwing around and started taking things a little
- 22:00Speaker 1: more seriously. She supplexed her on the stairs outside, then
- 22:05Speaker 1: she beat her up in front of her family at ringside.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Back in the ring, Blanchard distracted the referee so that
- 22:11Speaker 1: Victoria Crawford could get a shot in, and Crawford interfered
- 22:15Speaker 1: right in front of the referee, who ejected her. So
- 22:18Speaker 1: security tried to escort Crawford away. She was being resistant
- 22:21Speaker 1: to this, and Tessa tried to intervene. So then Jody
- 22:25Speaker 1: Threat came off the top rope with a cannon ball
- 22:28Speaker 1: and took everybody out. Threat then chased Crawford to the
- 22:32Speaker 1: back and that was the last we saw of them
- 22:34Speaker 1: for this match. Miller made a comeback. She hit a
- 22:38Speaker 1: thees press and a monkey flip blanched. She monkey flip
- 22:42Speaker 1: Blanchard out of the corner. She went for a crossbody
- 22:46Speaker 1: and she missed pretty badly. She mostly got Tessa's legs
- 22:52Speaker 1: and Tessa sold it anyway, got a near fall. Miller
- 22:57Speaker 1: walked into a boot and blanched work her over with
- 23:00Speaker 1: right hands in the corner, and so then Miller countered
- 23:03Speaker 1: by locking up Blanchard's arms and hit her with a
- 23:06Speaker 1: straight head butt. Miller got Tessa up in a power
- 23:09Speaker 1: bomb position, but Blanchard pulled out a roll of quarters.
- 23:14Speaker 1: I did not see where the role of quarters came from.
- 23:17Speaker 1: I would imagine her expanded bust now that she's got
- 23:22Speaker 1: more room to kind of tuck things in there. Maybe
- 23:24Speaker 1: maybe that's why she got the boob job. I don't know.
- 23:26Speaker 1: But she pulled out a roll of cord. I mean
- 23:28Speaker 1: had to come from somewhere. She pulled out. She doesn't
- 23:30Speaker 1: exactly have pockets on her gear, so she pulled out
- 23:33Speaker 1: the role of quarters. The referee was fussing around with
- 23:36Speaker 1: the turnbuckle pad in the corner that Tessa had pulled
- 23:38Speaker 1: off earlier, so didn't see any of this, and Tessa
- 23:42Speaker 1: hit her in the head with a roll of quarters,
- 23:45Speaker 1: and then she pinned her to win the match. The
- 23:50Speaker 1: good news for Tessa is that I didn't hear any
- 23:53Speaker 1: of the usual chants that will often be heard during
- 23:57Speaker 1: Tessa Blanchard matches. So that's the good news if you're
- 24:01Speaker 1: Tessa blanche The bad news is the crowd did not
- 24:04Speaker 1: get behind Giam Miller as the underdog babyface here the
- 24:08Speaker 1: way that they probably wanted them to. The crowd just
- 24:13Speaker 1: mostly just fell flat. The crowd really didn't react in
- 24:16Speaker 1: any sort of major way. But then it was time
- 24:21Speaker 1: for the annual call your shot Gauntlet match. This was
- 24:27Speaker 1: their seventh year in a row doing this match. Here
- 24:29Speaker 1: abound for glory. Now keep in mind this is intergender,
- 24:33Speaker 1: so you have male participants, you have female participants. Two
- 24:39Speaker 1: wrestlers enter after two minutes, a new wrestler enters every
- 24:42Speaker 1: sixty seconds. Eliminations occurred by pinfall, submission, or over the
- 24:47Speaker 1: top rope with both feet touching the floor, and when
- 24:50Speaker 1: the final two wrestlers are left in the ring, it
- 24:53Speaker 1: then changes to a singles match, and the winner of
- 24:56Speaker 1: that singles match will then not only win a beautiful
- 24:59Speaker 1: tra that looks like it was probably ordered on Amazon
- 25:02Speaker 1: dot Com, but in addition to the Amazon trophy, you
- 25:06Speaker 1: also win a championship match anytime within the next year
- 25:11Speaker 1: for the championship of your choosing boy. I haven't heard
- 25:14Speaker 1: this stipulation before, so anyway, that those are the rules
- 25:17Speaker 1: for the Gallin match here. So Ley Ying Lee was
- 25:21Speaker 1: the first entrant. Mara Shade was the second entrant. The
- 25:27Speaker 1: former Jakara Jackson from NXT who was just part of
- 25:30Speaker 1: Team TNA in the NXT versus TNA Women's Survivor Series
- 25:34Speaker 1: match a showdown this past Tuesday, Ryan Nemmth was the
- 25:38Speaker 1: third entrant the knockouts double team Nemath, which I mean
- 25:44Speaker 1: maybe he wouldn't have minded that so much. And by
- 25:46Speaker 1: the way that was phrased, then we had the other
- 25:48Speaker 1: Netmath brother, Nick Nemoth. He was out next at number four.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Shady dropped Nick with a superkick. Lee and Shad Day
- 25:55Speaker 1: they tried to dump Nick out of the ring. Ryan,
- 25:57Speaker 1: though made the save, and then Nick took out both
- 25:59Speaker 1: late with a double clothesline. Cedric Alexander he entered at
- 26:04Speaker 1: number five. Alexander dropped the Nema brothers with the German suplexes.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Rich Swan was out next at number six. AJ Francis
- 26:14Speaker 1: was in at number seven. He eliminated Marishade and laying Lee,
- 26:20Speaker 1: so they're gone. Francis then chokes lamb rich Swan, his
- 26:24Speaker 1: own partner in first class and then he dumped him
- 26:28Speaker 1: to the floor. So then Sinner and Saint, the tag
- 26:32Speaker 1: team of Sinner and Saint, they made their way out together,
- 26:35Speaker 1: but then they had to do a coin flip to
- 26:37Speaker 1: determine which one of them, because only one of them
- 26:39Speaker 1: apparently is allowed here in this match, which one of
- 26:42Speaker 1: them was going to make their way down to the
- 26:43Speaker 1: ring and that person ended up being Travis Williams. He
- 26:46Speaker 1: entered at number eight. Then we had at number nine,
- 26:52Speaker 1: we had famous YouTuber No not solo Monster, I'm right here,
- 27:00Speaker 1: I'm not in Lowell massachuet. I didn't get my invitation
- 27:02Speaker 1: to be part of the Collier Shot Gauntlet. But we
- 27:05Speaker 1: had famous YouTuber bde who is a big wrestling fan.
- 27:11Speaker 1: He does he does have one point four million subscribers
- 27:14Speaker 1: on YouTube, so he's got that. I think he's got
- 27:18Speaker 1: like almost two hundred thousand followers on Instagram. Apparently he
- 27:23Speaker 1: makes WWE content on YouTube. So he started wrestling this year.
- 27:28Speaker 1: He's got a handful of matches under his belt, mostly
- 27:30Speaker 1: for Sammy Callahan's promotion Pro Wrestling Revolver, but this was
- 27:35Speaker 1: his TNA debut and he did a spot with AJ
- 27:38Speaker 1: Francis and then he ate a superkick from Nick Nemeath.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Number ten was all three members of the Rascals, maybe
- 27:47Speaker 1: soon to be four. There's another Rascal that actually just
- 27:50Speaker 1: got released by WWE. He'll be free in less than
- 27:55Speaker 1: thirty days, so the Rascals may well end up expanding.
- 27:59Speaker 1: But it was Trey Miguel Zachary Wentz and Myron Reid.
- 28:05Speaker 1: So all three of them entered this gauntlet, and I'm
- 28:09Speaker 1: watching this going, wait a minute, this doesn't make any sense.
- 28:13Speaker 1: And the announcers said that Santino Morella earlier in the
- 28:17Speaker 1: day said that they count as one entrant, so it's okay.
- 28:23Speaker 1: But we just saw Sinner and Saint come out, and
- 28:26Speaker 1: we were told that they had to flip a coin
- 28:28Speaker 1: because only one of them could be in the gauntlet. Now,
- 28:30Speaker 1: how is it possible that this tag team only one
- 28:33Speaker 1: member is allowed in the gauntlet, But then all three
- 28:35Speaker 1: of these men come out and they count as one.
- 28:39Speaker 1: This was never explained. I don't know. So then the
- 28:45Speaker 1: trio eliminated aj Francis once they got into the ring.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Danny Luna entered at number eleven. Eric Young was number twelve.
- 28:52Speaker 1: He went after his former partner Travis Williams. Williams almost
- 28:56Speaker 1: eliminated Young with a clothes line, so they fought onto
- 28:59Speaker 1: the apron and Young gave him a low blow and
- 29:02Speaker 1: then he dropped him with a pile driver on the
- 29:04Speaker 1: apron and that was the end of Travis Williams. He
- 29:07Speaker 1: got dumped for the elimination. Jake Something entered at number thirteen,
- 29:14Speaker 1: This man is an absolute unit. When he ran out
- 29:18Speaker 1: there to the ring, he should definitely be higher up
- 29:21Speaker 1: on the card. Eric Young smacked Bde and eliminated him,
- 29:25Speaker 1: So back to YouTube he goes. Rosemary was next at
- 29:29Speaker 1: number fourteen, Miguel and Alexander. They were eliminated by Eric Young.
- 29:34Speaker 1: And then we had the Hometown Man at number fifteen,
- 29:39Speaker 1: and he came out with the UMass mascot. Jake Something
- 29:43Speaker 1: tried to hold the hometown Man for the mist from Rosemary,
- 29:48Speaker 1: but Hometown Man ducked and Something got misted and eliminated.
- 29:55Speaker 1: You might even say he got something in his eyes.
- 29:58Speaker 1: So long, Jake Something. He is gone here from the
- 30:01Speaker 1: Gauntlet match. So Zach Clayton, Yes, these Zach Clayton, everybody.
- 30:08Speaker 1: I couldn't believe it myself. He was out at number sixteen,
- 30:13Speaker 1: escorted it out by Little Guido of the FBI. Not
- 30:17Speaker 1: the only ECW cameo that we would get here on
- 30:20Speaker 1: this show. Danny Luna eliminated Rosemary. Hometown Man eliminated Danny Luna.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Jody Threat was out at number seventeen, and she ran
- 30:30Speaker 1: around and around the ring on the outside until all
- 30:33Speaker 1: of a sudden, Frankie Kazarian floored her. I don't even
- 30:35Speaker 1: know where the fuck he came from, but Kazarian flored
- 30:38Speaker 1: her with a clothesline and she never got into the ring.
- 30:42Speaker 1: So what ended up happening here is that Kazarian took
- 30:46Speaker 1: her spot. Santina Morella was trying to argue with him,
- 30:49Speaker 1: and he gave Santino a shove. So, of course what
- 30:54Speaker 1: happened next. It's time for the next entrance, and when
- 30:57Speaker 1: the countdown ended, we heard Santia he knows music. He
- 31:02Speaker 1: entered at number eighteen, and Tom Hanafin tried to explain
- 31:07Speaker 1: it that, well, he must have communicated something, you know,
- 31:10Speaker 1: to the people in the back. I guess to tell
- 31:11Speaker 1: them to play his music. I mean, bless his heart,
- 31:15Speaker 1: he tried. He tried to explain the unexplainable here. So
- 31:21Speaker 1: Santino hit Kazarian with a cobra from the floor. I
- 31:25Speaker 1: don't remember why Kazarian was bent over with his head
- 31:28Speaker 1: through the fucking ropes, but he got caught by the cobra,
- 31:32Speaker 1: and then Santino entered the ring, and as soon as
- 31:35Speaker 1: he entered the ring, he was instantly close lined out
- 31:38Speaker 1: by Nick Nemeth. He wasn't ready yet he wasn't ready yet,
- 31:43Speaker 1: but it didn't matter because he was eliminated. And now, of
- 31:45Speaker 1: course he's the director of authority for TNA, so if
- 31:49Speaker 1: he wanted to, he could just reinstate himself into the match.
- 31:53Speaker 1: That's what I would do. Like if I had that
- 31:55Speaker 1: level of power, you know, I would be drunk on power, right,
- 31:59Speaker 1: why not just use it? If I was in the
- 32:00Speaker 1: match and I was eliminated, I've just put myself back
- 32:02Speaker 1: in the match. So Mac Cardona, you know who's always ready.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Santino may not have been ready, but Mack Cardona was ready.
- 32:11Speaker 1: He was out there at number nineteen, fresh off of
- 32:15Speaker 1: his loss to Killer Cross. On Friday Night, Cardona eliminated
- 32:19Speaker 1: Clayton and then he pulled Guido into the ring and
- 32:21Speaker 1: eliminated him too. Number twenty was the Southern psycho Mance Warner.
- 32:30Speaker 1: He was escorted out to the ring by his fiancee.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Is fiancee? I always think of that Seinfeld episode. I
- 32:37Speaker 1: have lost my fiancee. Have you seen my fiance I
- 32:42Speaker 1: have lost my fiancee. Yes. He came out to the
- 32:46Speaker 1: ring with his fiancee, Steph Delander. The other rascals were
- 32:51Speaker 1: eliminated while Warner made his entrance, so Delander gave Warner
- 32:55Speaker 1: a steel chair. Everyone let Warner kindly hit them with
- 32:59Speaker 1: the chair until Cardona caught him from behind. Eric Young
- 33:02Speaker 1: tried to toss the Hometown Man, he skinned the cat
- 33:06Speaker 1: stayed alive. They fought out to the apron and Young
- 33:09Speaker 1: eliminated the Hometown Man with a low blow to very
- 33:12Speaker 1: loud booze and Cardona then eliminated Eric Young to a
- 33:17Speaker 1: big pop, and then he tossed Man's Warner as well.
- 33:20Speaker 1: So this left Cardona all alone with both Nemth brothers.
- 33:25Speaker 1: They double teamed Cardona. He made a comeback, though Cardona
- 33:28Speaker 1: tossed Ryan over the top rope. He stayed out on
- 33:31Speaker 1: the apron though, and Ryan held Cardona for a super
- 33:34Speaker 1: kick from Nick, but Cardona ducked and Ryan was eliminated
- 33:38Speaker 1: by big brother. See you later, Ryan Nemeth. So it
- 33:43Speaker 1: looked like we were about to get a singles match here, right,
- 33:46Speaker 1: We're about to get a singles match with Matt Cardona
- 33:49Speaker 1: and Nick Nemeth. This is like something out of two
- 33:52Speaker 1: thousand and nine. Wwe Right, we got Zach Ryder, we
- 33:55Speaker 1: got Dolf Ziggler. These are your final two here in
- 33:58Speaker 1: the Gauntlet, or so thought Warner and Delander. They distracted
- 34:04Speaker 1: Cardono well, Nemuth dumped him over the top, and since
- 34:08Speaker 1: Frankie Kazarian was never actually eliminated, that meant that Kazarian
- 34:12Speaker 1: and Nick Nemeth were the final two. So they wrestled
- 34:15Speaker 1: for a little bit, and eventually they did a double
- 34:18Speaker 1: pin spot coming off of a superplex where they both
- 34:22Speaker 1: kind of hooked each other's legs and the shoulders were
- 34:24Speaker 1: down and we got a double pin. Now, Santina Morella
- 34:27Speaker 1: is already out there and the fans are obviously not
- 34:31Speaker 1: very happy with this, or hoping that they'll just restart
- 34:33Speaker 1: the match, because that would be the thing to do, right,
- 34:35Speaker 1: You restart the fucking match, But of course this is
- 34:39Speaker 1: TNA and we can't do that. So Santino says that
- 34:43Speaker 1: for the first time in the history of the Call
- 34:47Speaker 1: Your Shot Gauntlet match, we have co winners, and the
- 34:53Speaker 1: crowd booed the hell out of that announcement, and deservedly so.
- 34:59Speaker 1: What an hour, absolute dog shit finish to this match.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Here they did a comedy spot where both of them
- 35:07Speaker 1: had we're kind of holding on to the trophy as
- 35:11Speaker 1: they left down the aisle. This was just a total
- 35:15Speaker 1: comedy and the crowd just booed all of this. I
- 35:18Speaker 1: will say I had fun with parts of this match.
- 35:22Speaker 1: I did find it overall to be enjoyable. That finish
- 35:25Speaker 1: is inexcusable when you dedicate thirty minutes to a match
- 35:30Speaker 1: like this. Okay, this went half an hour. It was
- 35:33Speaker 1: a long match, and then you give people a finish
- 35:36Speaker 1: like that, you just do yourself a disserve, especially on
- 35:39Speaker 1: your biggest show of the year. Just absolutely atrocious booking
- 35:42Speaker 1: here at the very end. And I'm sure they have
- 35:44Speaker 1: an idea for where they want to go with it,
- 35:46Speaker 1: and they're going to have some more comedy on television
- 35:48Speaker 1: with these two. Find another way to do it. You know,
- 35:52Speaker 1: you don't end this match in the way that they
- 35:54Speaker 1: ended this match. So for all the fun moments that
- 35:56Speaker 1: there may have been, this finish almost negated the entire thing.
- 36:00Speaker 1: That finish was terrible. Now after this, we had the
- 36:05Speaker 1: NXT superstar Klonie Jordan right a lot of big things
- 36:11Speaker 1: in her future. Klonie Jordan is a former North American Champion,
- 36:14Speaker 1: but she is also the reigning TNA Knockouts Champion. She
- 36:17Speaker 1: just won the title at victory road. Was it like
- 36:19Speaker 1: two weeks ago? Maybe she was defending the TNA Knockouts
- 36:23Speaker 1: title here against Indy Heartwell, So Indy comes out again.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Indy is kind of in the same position that Mike
- 36:31Speaker 1: Santana was in, where she's trying to rescue the championship
- 36:34Speaker 1: away from NXT, bring the title home here to TNA.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Heartwell goes over and hugs her family in the front row. Now,
- 36:46Speaker 1: the announcer said that it took four flights for her
- 36:50Speaker 1: parents to get here to see her get an opportunity
- 36:52Speaker 1: at the Knockouts Championship. Oh four flights. Let's find out
- 36:59Speaker 1: if it was worth. Both women went for near falls
- 37:02Speaker 1: off cradles. They dodged each other's strikes early in the match.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Jordan hung up Heartwell in the ropes and came off
- 37:09Speaker 1: with a leg drop for a near fall. Heartwell caught
- 37:12Speaker 1: Jordan with a spinebuster after that, and then she stretched
- 37:15Speaker 1: Klanie's back across her knees. She was damn near bending
- 37:18Speaker 1: this woman in half. Jordan fought out of it. They
- 37:22Speaker 1: did the ya boo punches, with Heartwell getting the ya's
- 37:25Speaker 1: because she's the actual TNA talent in this match, Heartwell
- 37:29Speaker 1: went for a death valley driver. Colanie escaped and hit
- 37:32Speaker 1: a split jawbreaker for a near fall. Jordan locked in
- 37:35Speaker 1: a half crab and Heartwell escaped, so Jordan comes off
- 37:39Speaker 1: the top of the crossbody and Indy rolls through powers
- 37:42Speaker 1: her up. Jordan, though, turns that into a small package
- 37:45Speaker 1: for a two count. Heartwell and Jordan they struggled a
- 37:48Speaker 1: little bit on a power bomb spot, but eventually Heartwell
- 37:51Speaker 1: did hit the move and Indy went for a boot.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Calanie caught it, hit a spinning kick. Jordan hit a
- 37:57Speaker 1: frog splash only got a near fall, so Heartwell came
- 38:01Speaker 1: back with the top rope elbow for a near fall
- 38:03Speaker 1: of her own, and then she went for her Hurtz
- 38:06Speaker 1: doughnut spinning facebuster finish. Jordan, though countered with a cradle.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Heartwell tried it again. This time she caught Jordan with
- 38:14Speaker 1: her finish, but unfortunately for her, Calanie was too close
- 38:18Speaker 1: to the ropes and she was able to break the
- 38:20Speaker 1: count with her foot. So Heartwell went to the top again,
- 38:24Speaker 1: but Jordan followed her up there and Calanie tried for
- 38:28Speaker 1: a Spanish fly. Heartwell elbowed her down and then Heartwell
- 38:31Speaker 1: went for another top rope diving elbow, but nobody home
- 38:36Speaker 1: and she crashed and burned. Klanie then hit Heartwell with
- 38:39Speaker 1: her split legged moon salt in the corner. It did
- 38:41Speaker 1: not look great. She pretty much missed it for the
- 38:44Speaker 1: most part, but that was the finish and so she
- 38:47Speaker 1: covered her and she got the pin anyway to retain
- 38:50Speaker 1: the Knockouts Championship. Now, after the match was over, Heartwell
- 38:55Speaker 1: went over. She did shake Colanie put her hand out
- 38:59Speaker 1: and she shook her hand, and you know, Colannie raised
- 39:02Speaker 1: her arm and was being very very gracious here. And
- 39:07Speaker 1: Indy went outside and she went to the front row
- 39:11Speaker 1: so she could be comforted by her family. They flew
- 39:15Speaker 1: this woman's parents halfway around the world, four flights, they said,
- 39:22Speaker 1: just to watch their daughter fucking lose. Pat is brutal.
- 39:28Speaker 1: That is brutal. This was not a great match. It
- 39:34Speaker 1: had its moments, It had its clunkiness, but it had
- 39:37Speaker 1: its moments. But outside of that, I just thought it
- 39:41Speaker 1: was just very, you know, basic stuff. I didn't think
- 39:46Speaker 1: Heartwell was winning the championship. Like when I did my
- 39:48Speaker 1: predictions earlier, I had picked Kelanie to win because she
- 39:52Speaker 1: just won the title literally in the last few weeks
- 39:54Speaker 1: she won the championship at Victory Road, and I didn't
- 39:56Speaker 1: think that they were going to take it off of
- 39:58Speaker 1: her that quickly. But and then I saw Indy's family
- 40:01Speaker 1: at ringside. And when I saw her parents, and I
- 40:03Speaker 1: think she had her sister or sisters might have been
- 40:07Speaker 1: in the front row. I saw that and I thought, Oh,
- 40:09Speaker 1: she's got to be winning this match. Why else would
- 40:13Speaker 1: they or she, you know, fly her family out if
- 40:17Speaker 1: there wasn't some big moment planned. And then she went
- 40:21Speaker 1: in there and she lost, and I think it surprised
- 40:26Speaker 1: me a little bit. And I also thought after I
- 40:29Speaker 1: saw that that it voted well for Mike Santana winning
- 40:31Speaker 1: in the main event, because it's like, all right, they
- 40:34Speaker 1: had the NXT star go over and retain her championship.
- 40:39Speaker 1: There's no way, there's no way, on this their biggest
- 40:43Speaker 1: night of the year, that they are going to go
- 40:44Speaker 1: out there in the main event and do the exact
- 40:46Speaker 1: same thing and suck the life out of this crowd.
- 40:50Speaker 1: So I actually thought her winning made it even more
- 40:53Speaker 1: obvious and voted well for Mike Santana in the main event. Now,
- 40:59Speaker 1: after the match was over, we'll go backstage for a
- 41:01Speaker 1: quick segment, and we see the call your Shot trophy
- 41:05Speaker 1: is sitting on a table. The Nemath brothers are having
- 41:08Speaker 1: a conversation and they're arguing over how Nick is going
- 41:12Speaker 1: to use the trophy, and so Kazarian shows up and
- 41:16Speaker 1: he wants to know what is this we business that
- 41:19Speaker 1: I hear you guys talking about, and Nemets said, Nick
- 41:22Speaker 1: Nemeth says that he knows Frankie stats. Because Kazarian's going
- 41:26Speaker 1: through all of his accomplishments, goes, look, I know all
- 41:28Speaker 1: of your stats, and normally, any other time I would
- 41:31Speaker 1: agree with you, I would be on your side. But
- 41:33Speaker 1: I am a former TNA World heavyweight champion, which you
- 41:36Speaker 1: have never been. And Kazarian said, well, maybe I will
- 41:39Speaker 1: be by the time this night is over, and he leaves,
- 41:42Speaker 1: and then the Nemets have to pretend like, oh, they
- 41:44Speaker 1: have no idea what he's referring to. What could he
- 41:46Speaker 1: be talking about? Oh, gee, I don't know. He just
- 41:49Speaker 1: won a trophy for a title shot anytime he wants,
- 41:53Speaker 1: I don't know what could he possibly be teasing here.
- 41:58Speaker 1: After this, we had Order four, which is Mustafa Ali's
- 42:02Speaker 1: faction against the System, comprised of Moose, Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, JDC,
- 42:10Speaker 1: and Alisha Edwards, Eddie's wife, in a hardcore war which
- 42:16Speaker 1: was basically a war games match without the cage and
- 42:19Speaker 1: without the two rings. You take those two elements out
- 42:22Speaker 1: of it, all the other rules apply, so it starts
- 42:26Speaker 1: one on one. There's a new member that enters every
- 42:28Speaker 1: I think minute or two, carrying a new weapon with them,
- 42:32Speaker 1: and the match cannot end until all of the participants
- 42:35Speaker 1: have made their way out. So it's like, okay, now
- 42:37Speaker 1: we can begin the war games. That's the basic gist
- 42:40Speaker 1: of it. Jason Hodch, I love that name. Jason started
- 42:46Speaker 1: out with a trash can against Eddie Edwards, who entered
- 42:49Speaker 1: with his family. He had Wally. Is he a beaver?
- 42:53Speaker 1: What is he? Is he the Boston Beaver? What is he?
- 42:57Speaker 1: Apparently he's the Red Sox mascot. We'll call Wally the
- 43:04Speaker 1: Boston Beaver. But he comes out with the mascot. Wally
- 43:08Speaker 1: distracts Hotch by thrusting his pelvis at him, which allows
- 43:13Speaker 1: Edwards to hit Hatch with a dive. To start the match.
- 43:16Speaker 1: Hotch hit Edwards with a dropkick. He went for a dive,
- 43:19Speaker 1: Edwards blocked that by throwing a trash can at his head.
- 43:23Speaker 1: So then John Skuyler was in next for order four
- 43:27Speaker 1: with a steel chair that was his weapon of choice.
- 43:30Speaker 1: JDC was in next with a New England Patriots helmet.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Edwards placed the chair over Skyler's crotch and JDC hit
- 43:40Speaker 1: the chair with the helmet. Skyler came up busted open
- 43:43Speaker 1: badly from a spot here, and JDC pulled the cheese
- 43:48Speaker 1: grater out from under the ring and he used it
- 43:51Speaker 1: to work over the cut to make him bleed even more.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Tasha Steeles came in wearing a New York Yankees jersey
- 43:58Speaker 1: and a bat is her weapon of choice. And so
- 44:04Speaker 1: after that John Skyler, are they show John Skyler here?
- 44:07Speaker 1: He's just a fucking bloody mess. This guy, Alicia Edwards
- 44:12Speaker 1: comes out with a Kendo stick and she cracks Tasha
- 44:15Speaker 1: Steels in the head with it. Eddie Edwards pulls out
- 44:18Speaker 1: a staple gun and he stapled Skyler in the face.
- 44:22Speaker 1: JDC stapled Hotch in the crotch and Alicia staple Steals
- 44:27Speaker 1: right in the ass. Agent zero was out next for
- 44:33Speaker 1: order four. I'm not too familiar with Agent zero. I
- 44:37Speaker 1: will tell you though. He looks like he has not
- 44:39Speaker 1: missed a single day at the gym. Every day is
- 44:41Speaker 1: Jim day for Agent four. And he pressed slam JDC.
- 44:46Speaker 1: He tossed Eddie Edwards into the ringside steps. He tossed
- 44:51Speaker 1: the top half of the stairs at Eddie's head. Brian
- 44:54Speaker 1: Myers came out next without a weapon. Come to think
- 44:57Speaker 1: of it, I don't think that Agent R Agent R
- 45:00Speaker 1: Agent zero. I don't think he can. I don't think
- 45:02Speaker 1: he came out with a weapon either. But I know
- 45:05Speaker 1: for a fact Myers did not come out with a weapon,
- 45:07Speaker 1: at least I don't think he did. So Myers tried
- 45:11Speaker 1: to use one of the trash cans around Ringsides. Zero
- 45:13Speaker 1: just put him down with a big boot, and Agent
- 45:16Speaker 1: zero dumped Myers with a hanging tree slam on the
- 45:19Speaker 1: trash can. So Alicia Edwards rolls into the ring and
- 45:24Speaker 1: finds herself surrounded by the members of Order four. As
- 45:29Speaker 1: Mustafa Ali now right, the leader, makes his way out
- 45:33Speaker 1: to the ring, he has a sledgehammer with him. Eddie
- 45:37Speaker 1: Edwards saved his wife momentarily from an attack. Moose entered
- 45:41Speaker 1: last for his team, and Moose stood one on one
- 45:44Speaker 1: with Agent zero after a pretty even face off. Here
- 45:49Speaker 1: Zero was able to dump Moose to the floor. All
- 45:52Speaker 1: the members of Order four and the System were brawling
- 45:54Speaker 1: on the floor. Agent Zero came flying over the top
- 45:58Speaker 1: rope with a big dive out onto the pile. So
- 46:01Speaker 1: back in the ring, Tasha Steels pulls out a Cando
- 46:03Speaker 1: stick wrapped in barbed wire and Alicia Edwards dump's thumb
- 46:07Speaker 1: tacks in the ring. I feel like we get thumb
- 46:10Speaker 1: tacks every single week now. Thumb tacks used to be
- 46:13Speaker 1: something that you would really every now and then it
- 46:16Speaker 1: would be like, oh my god, you know we got
- 46:18Speaker 1: thumb tacks, And now we get it every single week
- 46:21Speaker 1: pay per view television. It doesn't really seem to matter anymore.
- 46:25Speaker 1: You know, if you watch wrestling from different promotions, pretty
- 46:29Speaker 1: safe about that. If not every week, every other week,
- 46:33Speaker 1: you're gonna be able to find thumbtack somewhere on the show.
- 46:36Speaker 1: So Alicia hit Tasha with the Cando stick to get
- 46:40Speaker 1: rid of her, and then Alicia Edwards found herself alone
- 46:43Speaker 1: in the ring with Agent Zero, and Agent Zero gave
- 46:51Speaker 1: her a hanging tree slam right onto the thumb tacks,
- 46:55Speaker 1: which were littered all over the mat and sheets took
- 47:00Speaker 1: all of these thumbs. I mean, when when they showed
- 47:03Speaker 1: a shot of her back, I mean, it looked like
- 47:05Speaker 1: she had thumbtacks just stuck all over her bag. It
- 47:08Speaker 1: was a nasty bump. So Eddie tried to check on
- 47:11Speaker 1: his wife. Ali, though, hit him with a steel chair
- 47:14Speaker 1: and then dumped him. Ali dump more thumb tacks out
- 47:17Speaker 1: on top of Alicia, and she was very careful to
- 47:20Speaker 1: keep her her mouth closed so they wouldn't go in
- 47:22Speaker 1: her mouth. And now he's pouring thumb tacks on top
- 47:25Speaker 1: of her. She's got tax in her in her flesh,
- 47:29Speaker 1: and now he's dumping more on top of her. And
- 47:30Speaker 1: what is he going to do. He's gonna go up
- 47:32Speaker 1: to the top rope while she's laying there, and he's
- 47:34Speaker 1: going to set up for a four to fifty splash, which,
- 47:37Speaker 1: if you think about it, is a pretty fucking stupid
- 47:38Speaker 1: thing to do because you may land on her, but
- 47:42Speaker 1: you're also going to land on the thumb tacks that
- 47:43Speaker 1: are all over the ring, and you just put thumb
- 47:45Speaker 1: tacks on top of her. So he doesn't seem too bright.
- 47:49Speaker 1: He's even less bright because she moved out of the way.
- 47:52Speaker 1: And so when Ali hit the four fifty. He came
- 47:54Speaker 1: and splatted on top of the thumb Tax And I
- 47:58Speaker 1: think the thing that horrified me the most at this
- 48:00Speaker 1: if you go back and watch it, if you go
- 48:03Speaker 1: back and watch it, he got attack in his tit.
- 48:07Speaker 1: If you go back and watch it, look like he
- 48:09Speaker 1: had a thumb tack sticking out of his nipple. You
- 48:13Speaker 1: couldn't pay me enough money to take attack to the tit.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Of all the things we saw in this match, we
- 48:20Speaker 1: saw people bleeding, we saw people getting stapled and all
- 48:23Speaker 1: this bullshit, that might have been the thing that made
- 48:25Speaker 1: me WinCE the most. Honestly, when I saw that little
- 48:27Speaker 1: shiny projectile over there by his nipple, I go, oh,
- 48:31Speaker 1: that doesn't feel too good. So Eddie Edwards wrapped his
- 48:35Speaker 1: knee in barbed wire and he leveled Ali with the
- 48:37Speaker 1: Boston knee. Party wrapped up in the barbed wire, and
- 48:40Speaker 1: he pinned him to win the match for his team.
- 48:45Speaker 1: This was it, I mean, it was what it was called.
- 48:48Speaker 1: It was a hardcore war, that's for sure. I think
- 48:52Speaker 1: the Alicia Edwards spot with the Tax it was certainly
- 48:54Speaker 1: different seeing someone like Agent zero delivering a tree slam
- 48:59Speaker 1: to this woman onto the thumb tacks. That's not something
- 49:01Speaker 1: you would see all the time. Uh. But you know,
- 49:05Speaker 1: outside of that, what was this. This was the payoff
- 49:09Speaker 1: to an issue that has been brewing for months between
- 49:12Speaker 1: these two warring factions. And so if you were gonna
- 49:15Speaker 1: blow off a feud like this, then they did a
- 49:18Speaker 1: hell of a job of doing that. It certainly felt
- 49:21Speaker 1: like a blowoff to me. Now we get into the
- 49:25Speaker 1: match that I was looking forward to the most coming
- 49:28Speaker 1: into the show. We had Leon Slater against Javon Evans
- 49:33Speaker 1: javan Evans from NXT. This was an inter promotional match
- 49:37Speaker 1: for the TNA X Division Championship. They called this the
- 49:42Speaker 1: youngest X Division title match in TNA history, and they're
- 49:47Speaker 1: not lying about that. You've got two men here who
- 49:49Speaker 1: are younger than the title itself. Think about that. I
- 49:54Speaker 1: want you to do something. I want you to combine
- 49:56Speaker 1: the ages of these two men. They're both twenty one
- 49:59Speaker 1: years old. You combine their ages and they are still
- 50:04Speaker 1: not as old as the average age of the WWE
- 50:08Speaker 1: main events scene in most cases many of the people
- 50:13Speaker 1: who are on that WWE roster. That is scary, especially
- 50:17Speaker 1: when you consider how good these two men are at
- 50:19Speaker 1: the age that they are right now. So a lot
- 50:22Speaker 1: of youth here in this match. And I gotta say
- 50:24Speaker 1: hat tipped to Tom Hannifin on commentary for that House
- 50:27Speaker 1: of Glory shout out. During the match, they did mention
- 50:31Speaker 1: that Leon Slater just wrestled the amazing Red the other night.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Great match. Crowd was wild for this before they even
- 50:39Speaker 1: locked up. They could feel that this was going to
- 50:41Speaker 1: be something special, and they started, you know, this is awesome,
- 50:45Speaker 1: and both guys tease big strikes against the other and
- 50:48Speaker 1: then they would mock their opponent for, you know, covering up.
- 50:52Speaker 1: So they were playing cat and mouse. Slater caught Evans
- 50:54Speaker 1: with a small package for a near fall after like
- 50:58Speaker 1: six counters in reversals. Finally, Slater shoved Evans hard when
- 51:02Speaker 1: he was backed up against the ropes, and that's when
- 51:04Speaker 1: things started to get a little less friendly here between
- 51:06Speaker 1: these two men. So Slater caught Evans with a chop,
- 51:11Speaker 1: Evans fired back, and they were laying their shit in
- 51:14Speaker 1: pretty good here. It was something I kind of noticed
- 51:16Speaker 1: across the board here on this show. Evans sent Slater
- 51:20Speaker 1: to the floor, he followed him out with the topay.
- 51:22Speaker 1: Slater shoved Evans off the ropes when he went for
- 51:25Speaker 1: a springboard and then followed him out with a dive
- 51:29Speaker 1: back inside. Slater hit a cross body for a near fall.
- 51:32Speaker 1: Evans caught Slater with an over the ropes plancha and
- 51:35Speaker 1: then came back into the ring with a springboard clothesline
- 51:38Speaker 1: for a near fall. Evans hits a suplex and he
- 51:42Speaker 1: immediately kIPS up and then Evans ducks an inzigury. Slater, though,
- 51:47Speaker 1: hits a heel kick on the rebound, and Slater hit
- 51:50Speaker 1: a great slingshot cutter for a near fall. This looked great.
- 51:54Speaker 1: This looked great. Evans went to the top for something
- 51:59Speaker 1: not Jake Slater. Thy'll blocked it and they fought to
- 52:01Speaker 1: the apron. Evans tried a supplex, Slater escaped, and he
- 52:05Speaker 1: tried for the slingshot cutter again, but this time Evans
- 52:08Speaker 1: countered it into a spinning DDT that sent Slater across
- 52:11Speaker 1: the ring and Javan Evans, who is just an incredible athlete.
- 52:16Speaker 1: I mean, he's just super fun to watch when you
- 52:18Speaker 1: watch any of his matches, and he's been on a
- 52:21Speaker 1: tear these last few months with the matches that he's
- 52:23Speaker 1: been in. Javan Evans then hits After this, the out
- 52:31Speaker 1: of the ring springboard cutter. At this point here in
- 52:34Speaker 1: this match, out over the top rope, and this man
- 52:40Speaker 1: clipped the apron with his ass on the way down
- 52:43Speaker 1: and then he crashed into the floor. I mean he
- 52:47Speaker 1: took a hard landing on his tailbone, his thigh. There
- 52:51Speaker 1: is no way. I'm not saying he's There's a difference
- 52:53Speaker 1: between being hurt and being injured. I'm not saying he's injured,
- 52:56Speaker 1: but there is no way that he did not hurt
- 52:59Speaker 1: himself on this landing like this looked like it sucked.
- 53:04Speaker 1: I would not have wanted to be him when he
- 53:06Speaker 1: landed on that floor outside, so that was a crazy spot.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Evans struggled to get to his feet. Slater slid back
- 53:14Speaker 1: into the ring. Evans came off the top with a splash.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Javan then hit a second top rope splash from halfway
- 53:22Speaker 1: across the ringdue he cleared half the fucking ring on
- 53:25Speaker 1: this dive, only got a two count. Evans then hit
- 53:30Speaker 1: a rana with a cradle for a near fall. Evans
- 53:33Speaker 1: came off the ropes with a springboard right into a
- 53:36Speaker 1: flying hangman's neck breaker from Slater and the fans. At
- 53:39Speaker 1: this point here in this match, were losing their fucking minds.
- 53:43Speaker 1: These people were going crazy. They were eating everything up
- 53:46Speaker 1: that they were being served, Like, here's the main entree,
- 53:49Speaker 1: you know, let me know if you need anything with
- 53:51Speaker 1: the little salt, let me know. They were eating everything
- 53:54Speaker 1: up that these guys were serving. Both men struggled to
- 53:57Speaker 1: their feet. They were exchanging strikes along the way. Slater
- 54:01Speaker 1: wore out Evans with some chops and then Leon left
- 54:04Speaker 1: himself open to a chop. He goes, go ahead, right,
- 54:07Speaker 1: He's offering himself up for a chop. Evans rears back
- 54:13Speaker 1: like he's gonna chop him, but he fakes him out
- 54:15Speaker 1: and instead of chopping him, he drops him with a cutter,
- 54:18Speaker 1: which is fucking tremendous, And I can't believe that this
- 54:21Speaker 1: isn't something Randy Orton has never tried before. I don't
- 54:25Speaker 1: remember him ever trying to spot like that before. So
- 54:29Speaker 1: then he hits another springboard cutter flush Slater kicks out
- 54:33Speaker 1: it too. This was just insanity. Evans goes up to
- 54:37Speaker 1: the top, Slater catches him with an insiguri and follows
- 54:40Speaker 1: him up. They fought. Both guys jumped to the floor
- 54:43Speaker 1: on opposite sides. They basically they jumped off, but it's
- 54:46Speaker 1: almost like they kind of fell off. One guy on
- 54:48Speaker 1: one side tumble to the floor, the other guy tumbled
- 54:51Speaker 1: to the floor on the other side. So Slater tried
- 54:53Speaker 1: for a springboard off the barricade, Evans shoved him into
- 54:56Speaker 1: the crowd. Evans then hit a running dive over the
- 54:59Speaker 1: bar onto Slater in the crowd. Javon jumped the rail.
- 55:04Speaker 1: Slater followed and he hit his own dive over the
- 55:07Speaker 1: barricade as the bell suddenly sounded and they signified that
- 55:13Speaker 1: the twenty minute time limit had expired. And I said,
- 55:20Speaker 1: fucking hell, this better not be the way this match
- 55:23Speaker 1: is going to end. I was fuming, as were these fans.
- 55:27Speaker 1: By the way, these fans did not like hearing that bell.
- 55:31Speaker 1: I mean, the heat that this got was crazy. All
- 55:34Speaker 1: of a sudden, Santina Morella comes out over by the
- 55:38Speaker 1: entrance ramp and he announces that you don't normally on
- 55:41Speaker 1: these pay per views. We have to keep things tight.
- 55:44Speaker 1: We only have so much time, and people start booing,
- 55:49Speaker 1: and he goes, but I'll tell you what. We got
- 55:54Speaker 1: to give this five more minutes. He said, we got
- 55:57Speaker 1: to give it minutes I don't know about minutes, but
- 56:00Speaker 1: we got to give it five more minutes and the
- 56:03Speaker 1: place exploded. And I'm thinking, okay, they brought us down
- 56:06Speaker 1: and they got us really upset. But now they're hitting
- 56:09Speaker 1: us between the eyes and they're like, all right, five
- 56:12Speaker 1: more minutes, right, and this building is going nuts. These
- 56:15Speaker 1: people are losing their minds. And you got Leon Slater
- 56:18Speaker 1: backs up into one corner. You got Javon Evans. He
- 56:21Speaker 1: backs up into the other corner, and the referees like,
- 56:23Speaker 1: are you ready or you ready? And everyone's getting all
- 56:26Speaker 1: lamped up right, and they ring the bell and this
- 56:29Speaker 1: match resumes and everybody is just on their feet. So
- 56:33Speaker 1: Slater hits Evans with utopia. Evans slid to the floor.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Slater followed him with his over the post dive. We
- 56:41Speaker 1: see montes Ford do this on SmackDown almost every week. Also,
- 56:45Speaker 1: it's just a crazy move. Slater then went to the top.
- 56:48Speaker 1: Evans jumped up and pulled Slater down with a top
- 56:51Speaker 1: rope splant Spanish fly. Look at that, I combined the two.
- 56:55Speaker 1: He pulled them down with a top rope Spanish fly,
- 56:59Speaker 1: and Evan then went for the cover and at that
- 57:02Speaker 1: point the lights went out, and now I'm getting pissed
- 57:05Speaker 1: because we were in the middle of this great professional
- 57:07Speaker 1: wrestling match with these two great young stars, and you
- 57:11Speaker 1: want to do the false finish, you know what. It
- 57:14Speaker 1: pissed me off. But then just like five more minutes
- 57:16Speaker 1: and everybody went nuts, and I'm like, Okay, that's cool.
- 57:19Speaker 1: I can dig that, right, I can buy into that.
- 57:22Speaker 1: Now you're bringing all of this fuckery into this match,
- 57:26Speaker 1: and the fans are just on their feet, and now
- 57:29Speaker 1: you're messing with their heads here, and this is what
- 57:31Speaker 1: really pissed me off. So they do the lights out
- 57:35Speaker 1: gimmick and I don't know what's going on. I have
- 57:37Speaker 1: no idea now what these people are planning. Here, lights
- 57:41Speaker 1: go out, and who runs out from the crowd into
- 57:44Speaker 1: the ring to attack both of these men? Dark State.
- 57:49Speaker 1: They sent fucking dark State from NXT into the ring
- 57:55Speaker 1: to attack Slater and to attack Evans. The crowd begins
- 57:59Speaker 1: to and they're double team power bomb. I mean, they
- 58:01Speaker 1: laid these two kids out, and the crowd chance fuck
- 58:05Speaker 1: these guys. And you will have people, including probably in WWE,
- 58:11Speaker 1: who will look at this and will go, oh, well,
- 58:13Speaker 1: they're getting heat, right, this is great. This is what
- 58:17Speaker 1: we wanted. They're getting heat, only it didn't feel like
- 58:20Speaker 1: they were getting heat. It felt like the heat was
- 58:23Speaker 1: really more being projected onto the company for booking this
- 58:28Speaker 1: bullshit finish here to this match. Sure, I mean the
- 58:31Speaker 1: people hated Dark State, but I think the heat that
- 58:34Speaker 1: this got for being a terrible finish superseded that. And
- 58:38Speaker 1: that's the kind of heat that you really don't want
- 58:40Speaker 1: to get because you had a lot of people who
- 58:42Speaker 1: were very much looking forward to this match. I don't
- 58:44Speaker 1: want to say they didn't deliver. We got a great
- 58:46Speaker 1: match out of it, but my god, for a match
- 58:48Speaker 1: like this to end in this way was just horrendous,
- 58:52Speaker 1: just absolutely horrendous. And they're going to keep trying this
- 58:55Speaker 1: with these Dark State guys, and they're young and you
- 58:59Speaker 1: want to try to get them over. Fine, this was
- 59:02Speaker 1: not the place, in my opinion, to do something like this,
- 59:05Speaker 1: not in this way. What we saw here, this was
- 59:09Speaker 1: a TV finish. This was not a pay per view finish,
- 59:11Speaker 1: let alone a pay per view finish on what is
- 59:12Speaker 1: supposedly TNA's biggest pay per view of the year. I
- 59:15Speaker 1: don't really think WWE gives a shit about that, of course,
- 59:18Speaker 1: and it's very obvious. What happened here politics, That's what happened,
- 59:22Speaker 1: And this is what happens sometimes when you have two
- 59:25Speaker 1: promotions who are working together in some form or fashion.
- 59:28Speaker 1: WWE said, Okay, you want Javon Evans on your pay
- 59:31Speaker 1: per view, you want to put together this dream match,
- 59:33Speaker 1: We'll give you Javon Evans, but you're not beating Javon Evans.
- 59:37Speaker 1: And Leon Slater is the youngest TNAX Division champion of
- 59:41Speaker 1: all time. He won the title at Slammiversary. He got
- 59:43Speaker 1: a big win over Moose. They were not going to
- 59:46Speaker 1: let another NXT guy beat one of their guys and
- 59:49Speaker 1: take one of their championships, which they have done plenty
- 59:52Speaker 1: of these last few months. So I totally understand TNA saying, well,
- 59:56Speaker 1: we don't want Leon Slater to lose. So I guess
- 59:59Speaker 1: we're at an impass here. What do we do? The
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: reality is if either of these guys lost the match,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: it doesn't hurt them. You have a match like this,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: the fans are gonna love it no matter what. It's
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: not gonna kill either of them to lose. But the companies,
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: they don't look at it that way. It's like, this
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: is our guy, this is our commodity. We have big
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: plans for him. He's our big star on the rise,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: and you're not gonna beat him. And so this is
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: what they compromised one and this is what they came
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: up with here, and maybe they run it back one
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: more time. I feel like if they were not willing
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: to budge, if one company was not willing to budge
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: and the other one was not willing to budge, then
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: I don't really see the point in even running this
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: back because you're just gonna end up in the same
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: situation anyway no matter what. Maybe they end up as
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: tag team partners. I think it's likely that we get
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: a tag team match, you know, where the two of
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: them end up on the same side against Dark State.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: I think that's very possible. Again, I get why it
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: was done because this is what happens in these types
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: of situations, But I just look at this and go,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: you did a time limit draw to tease a non finish, right,
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: You tease that, and then you end up giving people
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: five more minutes and giving them the impression that wow,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: you're actually going to give them what they want, only
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: to them smack the smack them across the face and
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: kick them in the dick and say, well, you're getting
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: that non finish after all. I just thought that was terrible,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: an absolutely terrible way for this match to end. And
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: I will say that even with the shit finish, this
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: is still a Match of the Year contender. I love
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: this match. It's one of my favorite matches that I've
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: seen all year. It was easily the match of the weekend,
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: easily the match of the month so far. We're not
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: even halfway through the month so far, but this was
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: fantastic and it was a small glimpse into what you
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: can expect to see from these two as the months
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: and years go on. And think about this youngest ex
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: Division champion of all time, Javon Evans, same thing, twenty
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: one years old. As young as they are, and is
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: great they are right now with this age, How great
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: are they going to be five years from now? How
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: great are they going to be three years from now,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: ten years from now? Right, you keep working this style,
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: you're gonna have to adapt and adjust. Javon Evans is
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: fun to watch right the way he flies around the
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: ring and his just his agility and dexterity and all that.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: But that's not going to last right ten years from now,
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: I don't know that he's going to be able to
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: wrestle the same way, so he'll have to adapt his
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: style as time goes on. But right now, man, he
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: is going out there just balls to the wall every
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: single time we see him in the ring, and he's
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: having killer matches. And Leon Slayter's same thing. Super talented,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: goes out there, has great, exciting, fast paced matches. So
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: of course you put these two together and it just
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: they blend together so well because they have similar styles
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: and they want to go out there and steal the show.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: That's what they did tonight. They absolutely stole the show.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: They deserved to better finish than the one that they
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: booked here for this match. That was the only real
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: shameful part about this. But as young as they are
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: and as great as they are now, scary to think
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: well where they're going to be five years from now.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: So this delivered finish. Aside, I had very high expectations
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: for this match, and even still this match delivered. This
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: was great. Then after this, it was time for one
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: Final Table. That is how they dubbed this match One
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: Final Table match for the TNA and NXT Tag team
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Championships with the Hardys defending against the Dudley Boys. We
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: got a Spike Dudley cameo. I mentioned Little Guido earlier.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: We got a Spike Dudley cameo here on this show.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: The Dudley's came out and Bully then Bubba Bully, whatever
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: you want to call him. He looks to the aisle
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: and he starts waving right, he's waving someone to come out,
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: and here comes Spike Dudley. It threw me off a
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: little bit at first because he's bald now, but then
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: I remembered him from the Chris van Vlieter. I said,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: of course he's bald. But he comes out and there's
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: little Spike. Everyone cheers and all three men embrace, and
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: then Spike hands Divon his Dudley glasses, and then he
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: hands Bubba his Dudley glasses and that he waves to
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: the crowd and he goes to the back, and I said,
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: good for him, Good for Spike. He doesn't have to
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: take a bump tonight, because for a moment there I
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: thought he was coming out for the match with them,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: and that they were going to use him to take
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: the bumps that they can't take poor Spike. They were
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: going to god knows what they were going to do
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: this poor guys if he hasn't taken enough abuse in
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: his career. But they spared him and he went to
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: the back and we didn't see him again. So as
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: they're coming out, the Dudleys went and set two tables
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: up in the aisle. The Hardys were out next. They
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: brought a ladder out with them and a steel chair,
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: and they set the ladder up in front of those tables.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: So you knew what was coming like before the match
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: even began, before the bell even rang, you knew that.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: You know, chaos was about to ensue here. And the
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: object of the match, the rules, you had to put
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: each member of the opposing team through a table in
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: order to win the match and walk out as the champions.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: So and it didn't matter in what order or Yeah,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: it's not like a strap match where they had that
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: old rule where you had to top, you know, touch
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: all four turn buckles and if there's an interruption you
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: got to start over. None of that bullshit. Just put
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: both members through tables at different points in the match,
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: you win the match. So the Dudley's immediately dumped Jeff
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: to the floor and the Dudley's I will say they
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: were wearing their old Camo gear. You know, Divon obviously
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: he's moving around a lot slower. He's had a lot
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: of health issues in recent years. Was it a heart
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: attack or a stroke? I think he might have had
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: multiple strokes. But he's doing well now. I know. He's
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: got his podcast and he has talked about how this
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: this is it. Like for him, I don't know about
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: Bubba him, this is it. If he was going to
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: do one more match, that was going to be it.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: So he was waiting for the right opportunity and the
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: right opportunity came along when TNA wanted to put this
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: match together and he was like, all right, so I
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: do believe that this is it for Devon. And just
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: watching him out there, I mean cosmetically, you know, he
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: looks fine, but just the way he was moving you
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: could tell that his days in the ring are behind him.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: But immediately they dumb Jeff to the floor and they
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: hit Matt with a three D. Jeff tried for a
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: whisper in the wind. The Dudleys did their best Samoa
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Joe impression and just casually noped and just walked away
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: and he crashed and burned. So then Devon gave Jeff
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: the wazap headbutt off the ropes. The crowd called for
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: Devon to get the tables. Bully led the countdown, and
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: the entire building at the end of the countdown yelled
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: get the tables. So Devon went to the floor and
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: he slid two tables into the ring. The bully set
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: one of the tables up and they hit three d on.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: Jeff through the table just like that, and the announcers
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: explained that they were halfway there. All they had to
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: do now was put Matt Hardy through a table and
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: we have got new TNA and NXT Tag Team Champions.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Can you imagine the Dudley's as the new NXT Tag
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: Team Champions. So Matt came back in with a steel
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: chair and Matt was able to send Bubba to the floor.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: On a miscommunication Matt and Devon, they brawled on the floor.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Divon took too long setting up a table and Matt
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: caught Devon with the twist of fate. So Matt sets
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: up Devon for an elbow through the table. Divon, though,
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: rolls out of the way and Matt comes flying off
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: the apron with a diving elbow, drop through the table,
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: and the table disintegrates upon impact. But the announcers explained
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: that Matt was not eliminated because you have to be
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: offensively put through a table. You can't just put yourself
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: through a table. Someone has to, I guess, grab you
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: and either put you through the table or set you
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: up and then crashed through a table. And that's not
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: what happened here. So Jeff came back. He took out
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: Bubba on the floor with a clothesline from the apron.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: Back inside, Bubba set a table up in the corner,
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: and Matt dodged a charge from Bully. Bully bounced into
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: the table. I don't believe he broke it, so that
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: did not count. Elsewhere, Devon slammed the chair across Jeff's back.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: He placed him on one of the two tables that
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: I mentioned more set up in the aisleway where that
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: ladder is. So he lays Jeff on the table. Divon
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: now begins to climb the ladder and Matt makes his
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: way over and Matt cuts him off, and then both
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: men drop from the ladder safely. Because I was just
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: thinking like I know Devon Dudley, for those who don't know,
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: is terrified of heights. He's been terrified of heights his
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: entire life, which is insane to think about when you
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: think this guy is part of some of the most
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: iconic ladder matches in the history of wrestling, the first
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: TLC match at SummerSlam twenty five years ago. There is
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: a spot in that match where he climbs the ladder,
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: he grabs the championships, and the ladder gets removed from
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: underneath his feet and he's hanging from the fucking ceiling.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: And he has talked about this spot and he has
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: said that he, you know, basically almost shit himself, like
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: he's just terrified. So I cannot imagine that Divon is
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: climbing that ladder to any great height and doing any
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: kind of big bump like that. Not at this age.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: He's not fucked that. So I figured he was going
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: to get cut off and they weren't going to force
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: this poor guy to do some kind of big spot
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: off the top of the ladder. So the Hardy's they
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: roughed up Devon. They placed him on top of the
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: two tables, right a safer place for him to be
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: I'll just lay here, you do all the work. Ray
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: Walt on commentary said that he was getting deja vu
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: as Jeff pulled his top off and began to ascend
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: the ladder and he climbed to the very top of
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: the ladder and Matt was holding it steady so that
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: his brother would not fall to his doom. And Jeff
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: Hardy comes flying off the top with a swanton bomb
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: off the top of the ladder and he puts Devon
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: through a table and Jeff took our rough landing on
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: this swanton bomb. Yeah, they showed a few replays of it,
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: and he did get the rotation, because at first it
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: almost looked like he didn't rotate enough. I talk about
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: this a lot when I see Tiffany Stratt and wrestle.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: Every single time Tiffany Stratton does a swanton bomb in
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: her match, she waits until the very last second to
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: tuck her head on the landing, and one of these days,
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: this poor girl's gonna spike herself on the mat and
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: hurt herself like to a tee every single time she
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: did it in the match with Stephanie at Crown Jewel yesterday,
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: So that's kind of what this looked like. Where at
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: first it looked like Jeff maybe didn't get the full rotation.
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: He went like, not head first down, but almost kind
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: of like that. On the replay, it didn't look as bad,
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: but still when he landed, it looked like he may
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: have smacked the back of his head on the bottom
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: rung of the ladder, and he was even feeling behind
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: his head like maybe he knew he smacked his head
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: and was just checking to make sure there was no blood.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: I didn't see any blood when he came up. I
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: think he was fine. He may have, you know, I mean,
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: he may have banged his head, but he seemed to
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: be okay. And basically this was the WrestleMania sixteen spot recreated,
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: only instead of Bubba on the table, it was Devon.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: So Jeff gets up and he lets out this primal
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: scream to let everybody know. I guess that he's okay.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: Back inside the ring, the Hardy's hit Bully with a
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: pair of twist the Fates. Jeff went to the apron,
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: he headed up top, and he hit the Swanton bomb
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: to Bully. Ray and the Hardys then picked up chairs
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: and they took turns slamming them over Bullies back, so
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: Bully used the table in the ring to kind of
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: help himself slowly get back up to his feet, and
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: it's as if he knew what lied behind him because
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: Bully's back was turned. The Hardies are standing there with
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: chairs in their hands, and Bully is just he's standing there,
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: and he had just had this look on his face.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: Right he turns around, he sees the Hardies. The Hardy's
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: dumped the chairs, They tossed the chairs aside, and Bully
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: is staring at them, and he has this look on
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: his face like he's resigned to his fate, and he
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: just sort of nods at them. He's not going to
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: fight back, and why not, because Bully Ray is fifty
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: something years old and he's been in this match for
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: the last you know, ten or twelve minutes, however long
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: it's been going on, and he is spent. He has
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: been battered, he has been bruised, and not just tonight,
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: but for the last twenty five years and the wars
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: that these two teams have had. And he's outnumbered because
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: his partner is laying in the rubble in the aisleway.
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: He's all by himself. He knows that he's fighting a
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: losing battle here, so he's resigned to his fate, and
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: it's basically like, just put me out of my misery, right.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: He's waiting for the kill shot, and so Matt and
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: Jeff they grab a hold of him and they slam
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: him double Urinagi slam through the table to end the match,
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: and they call for the bell they play the Hardies music.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: I know what they were going for here. It's everything
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: that I just explained. I don't know that everybody in
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: the crowd necessarily, or even everybody watching at home. I
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: don't know that a lot of fans necessarily picked up
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: on what this finish was supposed to be. I feel
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: like people are going to look at this in some
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: cases and say, boy, that was an anti climactic finish,
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: And I could see where people might think it came
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: off that way. But I knew what they were going for.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: You know. In many ways, it was like Wrestle Minnie
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: A twenty four and that Rick Flair in the match
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: with Sean Michaels. It was the same thing where Flair
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: is just struggling to his feet, got those fists up, like,
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: you know, come on, give me your best shot, right,
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: But at the same time it's like he knows and
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: Sean Michael says, you know, I'm sorry, I love you,
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: and then he super kicks him and puts him down.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: You know the same thing. I mean, didn't we have
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: something like that in that match on Dynamite last year?
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: There was a match I think with it might have
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: been Malachi Black's last match. I don't even remember at
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: this point with Adam Cole, and I think he just
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: let him, you know, hit him with the boom. It
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: was like, just just do it, man, Just put me
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: out of my misery. That's what they were going for here,
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: That's the story they were trying to tell. So as usual,
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: Carlos Silva he enters the ring, He's got the titles
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: to hands of the Hardys, Matt and Jeff. They pulled
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: Bully to his feet and they hugged him. Devon got
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: back into the ring at this point and all four
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: men shared a very emotional group hug. The final hug,
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: and the fans chanted thank you Dudley's. The Hardy's held
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: up their titles while standing face to face with the Dudleys.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: Then they started to leave the ring. Bully and Devon
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: then reached over and grabbed them and stopped them from leaving.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: And at that point, Bully and Devon they reached down
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: and they begin to untie their boots, and the Hardys
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: can pick up on what's going on here, the fans
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: can pick up on what's going on here, and they
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: take their boots off and they hand their boots to
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: the Hardies. Because when your career is over, that is
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: what you do. You take your boots off and you
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: leave them in the ring and you leave, and that
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: signals that your career is over. That's what Triple H did.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: When Triple H's career was over, he did that. Whatever
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: WrestleMania that was might have been Wrestledmania at thirty eight.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: I think he took his boots off and he left
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: them in the ring. And so it was a very
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: you know, emotional moment, and you could tell the Hardys
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: were kind of crying and they were very emotional. I mean,
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: I would imagine that was all planned out, but maybe
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: it wasn't. Maybe they didn't know, you know, who knows,
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: But it came off, you know, in the way that
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: they wanted it to. It came off as a very
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: emotional thing. It was the final match for the Dudley's.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: You know, you will not see the Dudley Boys back
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: in the ring after this. Devon is done. I don't
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: know if that signified that Bully is done, because Bully
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: is still working independence, not necessarily every week. So I
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: don't know if this was the end of the Dudley's,
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: if that's what this was meant to signify, or if
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: we got some news here and Bully is also done.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: That I'm not sure of. But as a unit, you know,
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: as a tag team, that's it. Team three D, the Dudley's,
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: that's it. They're done. All the championships they've won, all
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: the promotions. You know, when Mackenzie Mitchell was introducing them
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: at the beginning of the match, and she went through
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: all the different tag team championships that they've held from
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: East and WWE. Yeah, and they mentioned WCW, but it's
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: kind of bullshit, honestly, Like it wasn't really WCW at
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: that point, but ECWWWE, WCW, TNA, NWA IWGP. She didn't
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: mention Hog. You could put them in there as well now,
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: but it's like all the different championships that these guys
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: have held and I think it's like twenty something tag
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: team titles over the course of their career. They will
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: go down as one of the all time great tag teams.
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: You know, where they rank on your list is a
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: subjective thing. You know, they're not the greatest tag team
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: on my list. You know, they're not even in my
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: top three. But that's not it's not meant to be
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: a negative against them. Everyone has their teams that they
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: look at. For some people it's the Road Warriors, you know,
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: for some people, it might be the heart foundation. For
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: some people it might be the Rock and Roll Express
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: or the Midnight Express, right, or maybe a more modern
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: team like the Hardy Boys or the Dudley Boys or
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: the Young Bucks. And yes, there are people who would
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: say the Young Bucks. Like it depends also how old
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: you are, what generation you came up in. It's a
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: subjective thing. You know, Road Warriors is going to be
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: on a lot of people's lists, but they're they're in
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: the upper echelon of you know, Hall of Fame legendary
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: tag teams. You know, they've had a very incredible run,
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: which is crazy. If you think about the Dudley gimmick
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: in ECW and how that whole thing started. It was
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: just it was comedy. Yeah, it was an emotional moment here,
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: and the team's hugged again. They all, you know, all
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: four men raised their arms. The Hardy's music played, Bully
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: and Devon. They exited the ring and they kind of
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: put their arm around each other as they slowly made
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: their way toward the entrance, and they had this great
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: sort of panned out shot of them as they're walking
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: down the aisle to the stage, and they stopped and
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: they looked back and they acknowledged the fans. The production
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: team missed it. But while this was going on, because
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: we could hear something happened in the ring, like you
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: heard a bump, and the fans reacted, they cheered, and
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: then they cut back to the ring. So we missed it.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: But I think what happened is that Jeff put himself
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: through the table. I think there was a table propped
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: up in the corner, and I think that Jeff, he
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: was so excited, I think he actually took a table bump,
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: a voluntary table bump. So anyway, it's a very Jeff
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: Hardy thing to do. I enjoyed the match. I already
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: saw some people just before I went live. They were,
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: you know, in the comments, shitting on the match. But
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: the post match was good. I enjoyed all of this.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: I liked the match. I thought the post match was fantastic.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: The post match, it was really all about that, right,
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: It was about that moment. It was about twenty five
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: years twenty five years later, you got two of the
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: three teams that were involved in that legendary match, that
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: legendary series of matches back in the ring one last time.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: And I thought, that can, considering how much older they
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: are and how beat up they are, they gave you
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: everything they could, and what they gave you was actually
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: pretty good, all things considered. I don't really think they
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: embarrassed themselves, you know, beyond the point that they're obviously
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: not moving in the way that they would have moved
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: twenty five years ago. Hey, guess what, twenty five years
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: from now, I'm not going to be moving the same
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: way I'm moving now. Either. I may not even be
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: here the sleep schedule that I have, I may not
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: even be here anymore. So, yes, twenty five years later,
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: I thought, all things considered, they did fine. And somebody
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: and I forgot who it was shout out to that person.
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: But they were in my mentions on X and they
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: asked me to address the fact that Jeff Hardy was
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: doing most of the work in this match and why
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: was that. The answer is very simple, and it's kind
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: of weird to say this, but of all the people
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: in that match, Jeff Hardy, I think physically is the
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: one who held up the best. Jeff Hardy physically is
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: probably in the best physical condition or shape of anybody
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: in this match, because Matt's you know, his body is
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: beaten to hell, right, I mean, he could still go,
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: but not the way he used to. And then the
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: Dudley's right, their bodies are beaten to shit and they
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: don't move around the way they used to. So if
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: it felt like Jeff was the one who has taken
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: all the big bumps, yeah, there's a reason for that,
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: because for all of the crazy shit that this guy
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: has done in his career, shockingly enough, physically he was
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: in the best shape of all four men in this match.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: It's not really a surprise. So that's why it felt
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: that way. But I thought that this was a very
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: fitting homage to the TLC era and in a weekend
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: where it really did feel like the end of an
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: era on Saturday, and it felt more like the end
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: of an era here on Sunday. You know, John cnn,
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: AJ styles the chapter of their careers is coming to
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: a close. But this, this really was like an era
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: that these guys were a part of. And this this
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: felt more like like that WrestleMania twenty eight moment right
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: on a smaller scale. But this was more like that
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: than seen AJ was. But there's just a lot of
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: this going around, man, a lot of these guys that
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: we grew up watching and that have been around for
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: so long and you could always rely on them to
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: come back and get the big pop and do a
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: match here and there. Not anymore. You know, their time
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: is coming to an end, whether it's Sina or AJ
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: or Tanahashi or the Dudley's, the Hardy's. Eventually the Hardys
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: will have their moment as well. You know, we keep
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: talking about Jericho and he's going to probably be back
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: in WWE next year. But Jericho's getting up there too,
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: and at some point Jericho's gonna step away undertaker. Right.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: You don't have those Undertaker Wrestlemnia matches anymore, right, these
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: guys are getting old and they're retiring, and that era
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: is slowly but surely coming to a close, you know,
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: and it's a hard thing to accept. But I I
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: look at it and I say, you know what, I'm
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: just glad a lot of these guys are still around
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: because there were a lot of wrestlers from not only
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: their era, but the era right before where they're not
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: even here anymore. You know, a lot of those guys
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: didn't even make it to the age of fifty. The
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: fact that these guys are still around and all things considered,
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: are in fairly good shape is a plus. You know.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: I look at that as a positive that we have
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: so many of those guys that are still around and
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: can enjoy moments like this where they get their flowers,
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: when so many before them didn't have their their shot.
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: They didn't have that opportunity unfortunately. But after this we
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: had the main event, Trick Williams. I didn't envy these
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: two guys, by the way, having to follow the last
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: two matches, that's a tough thing to do, but they
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: were going to try because it was all about the
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: moment at the end. With Mike Santana, we had Trick
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: Williams defending the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Mike Santana,
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: who of course was flying the TNA flag against mister
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: NXT over here trying to bring the championship back home.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: Santana comes out through the crowd and through all the
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: chaos and all the fans and all the people. Who
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: does he find. He finds Conan And I laughed, because
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: if you know the history of Conan and TNA, you
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: just can't help but laugh. Right. There was a lot
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: of animists there, there were lawsuits, there was all kinds
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: of just bad blood there. But there he was. He
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: had the bandana around his face, he pulled it down,
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: and there he is. There's Conan. Conan's everywhere these days. Man,
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: He's popping up in Triple A on those shows with WWE,
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: and now here he is in TNA. So the crowd
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: was into both of these entrances in such a way
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: where it really did have that big fight feel to
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: it when they came out. Santana got some booze when
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: they announced him from the Bronx New York, because of course,
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: I mean they were in Massachusetts, so what do you expect,
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: Trick william grabbed the mic from Mackenzie Mitchell before she
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: could intro him, and then told Santana that he would
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: beat his ass like the Boston Red Sox so that
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: way they could put the heat on him. And so
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: now the fans booed him, and then he did his
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: own in ring intro. Santana cut him off with a
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: right hand and they brawled to the floor where they
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: fought into the crowd. So we got started here. There
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: was no bell. Still no bell yet, we're not officially underway.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: Williams tried to use a trash can on Santana, but
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: that backfired and he wound up covered in trash. They
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: brawled back to ringside. Santana dumped a Trick onto the
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: apron with the back suplex. Santana took a minute to
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: celebrate with a fan, and doing so gave Trick the
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: opening to hit Santana with the TNA title. Then the
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: bell rang. Let's reward this bad behavior by ringing the
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: bell here. Ginger says, Conan came back to TNA in
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: twenty seventeen. Yes, there was a lot of bad blood
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: and a lot of history there with Conan and TNA.
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: That's really what I'm referring to so when I see
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: him in TNA, it just makes me laugh. But you
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: are correct. I do believe that there was, at least
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: for a period of time, there was a return there.
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: So Williams hit his trick shot finished back in the
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: ring and immediately covered Santana got a close near fall.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: I wouldn't say it was a very believable near fall
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: because the idea of the match would be over at
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: that point is just, I mean, hilarious. Williams followed that
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: with a death valley driver for another near fall, and
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: then Trick hit a spin kick and a jumping neck breaker.
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: He just could not put this man away. Santana charged
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: it Trick and got backdropped to the floor Outside. Williams
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: used a slingshot to send Santana into the ring post
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: head first, and they cut away for a while to
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: show Trick he was playing to the fans. He got
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: to give Santana some time to do his business. When
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: they put the camera back on Santana, he was a
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: bloody mess. He was busted open like the radio. So
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: Williams back dropped Santana onto the steel steps. The flat
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: part of the steel steps Williams whipped Santana into the
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: barricade and then took Santana over to his daughter, because
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: Mike had his daughter there in the front row and
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: he wanted to make sure that she was going to
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: watch her father take a beating here from the champion.
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: Williams asked Santana's daughter who her daddy was, and she
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: slapped him, and he sold the shit out of that slap,
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: and he stumbled into a topey from Santana, who came
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: flying out of the ring. Back inside, Santana caught Williams
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: with a power bomb. He went to the top again,
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: Santana hit a four fifty splash, only for a near fall.
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: So at this point, Trick's lawyer comes down to the ring.
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: I should mention that earlier in the night there was
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: a backstage segment I don't remember. It might have been
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: on the pre show, I don't remember, but it could
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: have been during the pay per view, and he had
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: his lawyer with him, some guy I had never seen before.
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: So he came out here and I don't know who
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: this man is. My guess is it's probably someone from
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: developmental And five years from now, seven eight years from now,
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: we're going to look back. This guy's going to be
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: on the WrestleMania card somewhere, and it's going to be
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: a trivia note that one day, many years ago, he
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: played Trick Williams, lawyer on a TNA pay per view.
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: It's like Tomasso Champa many years ago on SmackDown, he
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: played a lawyer and he got his ass kicked by
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: the undertaker, right, and look at him now, look at
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: all the success he's ad. So I don't know who
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: this person was. But Santana went for his discus lariet. Williams, though,
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: ducked it and he hit a pair of urinagis. Williams
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: went to the top, Santana caught him and climbed up
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: with him. Williams was able to drive Santana to the
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: mat though with an avalanche urinagi, but it only netted
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: him a two count. So Williams grabbed his belt and
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: he went for a wild swing. Santana ducked and rolled
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: him up for a two count. After some more counter
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: Santana hits the spin the Block lariot, but it only
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: got two tricks. Lawyer got up on the apron again
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: and this time Santana pulled him into the ring. He
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: gave him a discus lariot, but then Williams catches Santana
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: with this great looking trick shot, and Santana sold the
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: shit out of it, and that got a great near fall. Okay,
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: unlike the one at the very beginning of the match,
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: this was a great believable near fall. Here Santana and
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: now was crawling and he's looking at his daughter, who's
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: over there in the front row. Right. He says, great
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: shot of him. He's just got, you know, blood all
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: over his face, and Williams charges in for another trick shot.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: Santana ducks it. Santana blocks another urinagi, hits a flying lariat,
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: and finally finally hits the discus lariot and he covers
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: trick Williams for the one two three to bring home
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: the gold. He wins the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. So
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: as Carlos Silva is doing his thing and he's walking
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: up the stairs with the title to present the championship
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: to Santana. He doesn't even get into the ring yet
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: before we hear Nick Nemitt's music. Because I'm waiting for
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: this big emotional moment right where Silva hands in the championship.
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: I mean, he's been waiting for so long to get
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: this moment, and now they're playing Dolv Ziggler's music and
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: I'm like, what the fuck? So Nemith comes out and
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: he's got that stupid trophy and I'm like, are you
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: fucking kidding me with this nonsense? Like I'm not expecting
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: him to successfully cash in, but like, why are you
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: interrupting this moment? Like what? You better have something real
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: good planned here. So he comes out in the aisle
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: and he's got the trophy and at that point, the
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: lights go out. So when they come back on, we
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: see again with the lights out, gimmick by the way,
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: pulling their best Tony Kahan here, let's come back on.
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: And who is in the aisle behind Nemeath, Elias or Elijah.
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: He's in TNA mode. Now I gotta say, I gotta
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: say his TNA name. We see Elijah and he takes
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: out Nemath with a guitar, a guitar shot to the skull.
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: He shatters this white guitar over Nemet's head and then
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: he looks up at Santana in the ring because he's
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: got his hat on right his cowboy hat and he
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: tips the hat to Santana in the ring. This was
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: the first time I do believe that we have seen
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: Elijah since he tore his triceps in that six man
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: tag match on NXT back in June. I believe it
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: was I guess this was his return. But we're not
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: done yet because in the ring is Frankie Kazarian, the
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: other winner of the Call Your Shot gauntlet from earlier
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: in the show, the co holder of the dumb trophy
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: that is currently sitting in the aisle and he realizes, evidently,
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: you are not allowed to cash in for your championship
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: shot unless you have physical possession of the trophy. Apparently
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: these are the dumb rules that have been set up here.
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: The trophy is over there, though, so he can't cash
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: in because Santana at this point seas him and he's like,
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: fuck right, because the trophy is over there in the
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: aisleway and he can't cash in now, very stupid, So
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: Santana wipes him out with the lariat. I thought all
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: of this was completely unnecessary. Having now seen what they did,
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: I feel exactly the same way I did when I
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: first heard Nemetz music hit all of this should have
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: been cut out. None of this was necessary. None of
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: this added anything here. If anything, it nearly ruined the
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: fucking moment. It didn't serve any significant purpose. You want
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: to bring Elijah back. Elijah is not that big of
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: a deal that he should even be involved in this moment.
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: This was an angle that could have been done on
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: impact in the opening segment this coming Thursday. Okay, so
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: that's my only gripe about all of this, All of
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: this silly nonsense was just that it was silly. It
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: was stupid, and it should not have been It should
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: not have been approved of here for this postmatch angle.
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: It was completely unnecessary. So, after all this bullshit is
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: over with, Carlos Silva does present the TNA World Heavyweight
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: Championship to Santana. He's very emotional. He brings his daughter
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: into the ring, he hugs her, he's got blood again
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: pouring down his face, and he drops down to his
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: knees to like basically bow to her, and he holds
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: the championship belt out and he presents the championship to
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: his daughter. It's a very cool moment, you know, very
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: emotional moment there, and a great moment to end the show.
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: I thought the match was very good in terms of
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: how they built to that finish. It did feel like
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: the crowd was lukewarm in the middle of it, and
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: I think that had just more to do, honestly, with
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: the fact that they had just been treated to too.
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: There were two very different matches in terms of the
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: X Division match and the Tables match, but they were
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: really two of the big attractions on the show, and
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: the crowd really did invest a lot in those two matches,
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: and then you followed that up with this, and it
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: just it did hurt the match a little bit, but
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: at least they were able to bring them up for
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: the closing moments, you know that, which is the most
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: important part. They were able to bring them up for
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: the finish and Santana winning the championship and everybody cheered
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: and everybody was very happy. And I don't know if
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: the reaction in New York would have been better or
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: if it would have been comparable, but you know, he
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: got a good reaction here for the finish. So I
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: enjoyed the match. It was not my favorite match on
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: the show, but I enjoyed the match. I liked the
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: moment even more and to go back to what I
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: said here at the beginning of the review. You know,
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: I had the chance to watch Mike Santana put together
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: a very impressive body of work because I'm in a
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: unique position where I have a very cool job where
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: I could be there to be able to call these
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: great matches that he was having, and I'm watching him
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: have these matches that I never saw him have in
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: aw because for the most part, he was a tag
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: team guy, but he never had the opportunity to really
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: show people what he can do. So when he was
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: in there with someone like the amazing writer, when he
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: was in there with any number of people that we
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: would bring in for him to wrestle, he was killing
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: it every single time. And it was just a matter
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: of getting the word out there about it and showing people, Hey,
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: look at what's going on here. This guy is he's
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: rebuilding himself. You know, it's this career revival that he's
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: having here, and we could see it right in New York,
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: but soon enough, the entire world will be able to
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: see it. And it's only a matter of time. You know.
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: When Joe Hendry was the TNA World Heavyweight Champion, it
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: just seemed obvious that the next babyface to follow him
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: was going to be Mike Santana. The only question was
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: who would they put the belt on in between to
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: be the transitional champion effectively, because I didn't think they
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: were going to have Santana have to beat Henri. You
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: got two guys that people like, right, that doesn't really
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: make sense. So this moment was a long time coming,
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: and it was a lot of injury, it was a
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: lot of bullshit, it was a lot of just unhappiness
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: with the position that he was in. He took a
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: chance on himself, and it's very cool to see someone
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: who does that that it pays off for them and
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: it results in good things for them. You know. I
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: like when good things happen to good people, and Mike
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: Santana is good people and I was very happy to
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: see him get this moment. Long may he reign. I
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: hope that he will have a very successful championship run.
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: Where the future leads him, we'll see. You know, he's
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: made a lot of appearances this year on NXT. I
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: am sure he is not done making appearances on NXT,
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: and one day we should see him on Raw, or
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: we should see him on SmackDown, but that's for later on.
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: There's no reason for him to worry about that right now.
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: I think he's in a very good spot. I think
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: he knows that there are on him from WWE, among
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: other places, and right now the focus should be just
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: going out there and flying the flag for TNA. TNA
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: is going to be announcing a new television deal any
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: week now, heading into twenty twenty six. Who knows, maybe
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: on the CW network they may have more eyeballs on
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: that show than they've had since the Spike TV days.
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: Mike Santana now is going to be the poster boy
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: for that. He's going to have his face plastered on
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: all of that. He will be the face of that
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: television show. And that's a damn good spot for him
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: to be in. So I enjoyed this show. I had
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: a lot of fun watching it. There was some very
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: head scratching booking decisions here, and some stuff I didn't
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: agree with. We went through all of that, but on
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: the whole, I thought the show was fun and I
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: really enjoyed it. Let's take a look at the Twitter
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: pol see if you guys agree. What did you think
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: of Bound for Glory twenty twenty five eighty percent thumbs
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: up and just shy of twenty percent thumbs down for
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: this show. So it seems like you guys are in
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: agreement with me on that. And we got some good
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: wrestling this weekend. We got that John Cena AJ Styles match,
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: which was excellent. We had that X Division title match
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: tonight's which was excellent. Finish aside, we got some good
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: wrestling this weekend. All right, let's take a look at
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: your messages and get you guys out of here. Don't
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: forget that RAW begins at about what seven hours. I
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: will not be up at eight o'clock in the morning
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: to watch Raw. Raw will be waiting for me when
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: I'm getting ready to watch Raw, and then I will
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: have to let you guys know when I plan to
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: go live tomorrow, because I will go live. I just
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: I'm not exactly sure when. At this point, today's episode
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: is sponsored by Factor. Finding time to cook can be
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: tough anytime of year, but right now the fall has
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: been pretty overwhelming. I mean, what with all the different
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: shows that I've been producing, many of them at weird
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: Hours House of Glory, we just had our biggest show
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: of the year this past week, and on top of
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: all that, the days are getting shorter, so the thought
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: of taking the time to prepare a nice meal is
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: tough to swallow, which is why I love Factors so much.
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: Their chef prep, dietitian approved meals make it easy to
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: stay on track and enjoy something delicious no matter how
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: hectic the season gets. With Factor, you can choose from

- 1:39:46Speaker 1: you can feel the difference no matter what your routine
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: may be. You know, I've eaten my share of Factor
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: meals in the time since I first learned about them,
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: and I always put over the same sesame Teriaki filet
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: mignon that I had a few months ago is still
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: my favorite. But they've all been enjoyable, and I know
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: it will be for you too. I'm looking at one
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: of the upcoming menus for this week. They break them
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: down week by week on their website. Listen to this.
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: They've got browned butter, grilled chicken, and Yukon mash with
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: roasted green beans and mushrooms. That's if you're looking for
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: a high protein, calorie smart option, or maybe you're more
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: into the truffle butter filet mignon if you want a
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: low carb, fiber filled option. The keyword is option. They
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: have tons of them to suit your palate and meet
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: your nutritional needs. I say it every time. These are

- 1:41:32Speaker 1: all right, so we may have to skip be the
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: booker tonight. We don't hit four hundred, that's all right. Uh,
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: Tommy says, So I was thinking, Sinceina is going to
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: face Dom at Survivor Series, well, we assume that he's
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: going to face Dom at Survivor Series. That's what Meltzer
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: is reporting. Uh. Do you think there is a chance
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: in hell that he's going to win the IC title
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: and since he's facing Gunther in his final match, that
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: Gunther would take the title? Do I think there's a chance, Yes,
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: there's a chance. I don't want to see it. Absolutely,
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: there's a chance that Johnsena will win the Grand Slam
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: and win the Intercontinental Championship. I just would rather not
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: see that. I don't I don't see what's gained. If
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: Gunther wins the Intercontinental title, it's a step down for
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: him unless they just want to keep this whole thing
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: going where it's like, you know, eighty five percent of
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: his run he's been holding a championship. Has to be
- 1:42:28Speaker 1: holding a championship of some kind, like who cares like
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: he's above that. I don't think he needs the Intercontinental
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: title back Retro koleh Herd fans say they wanted Edge,
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: so we had the WWE Vault upload him beating Edge
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: for the world title in two thousand and five. Hashtag
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: lol triple h. Yep, they did upload that match to
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: the Vault channel earlier. I did notice. That's funny how
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: that works, isn't it. Boots says When Bubba slowly turned
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: around and accepted his fate, I shed a little tear
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: as he went through the table. Only thing missing was
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: Edge and Christian Wrestling News co again. Thank you very much.
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: My friends love your show, they say, love the site.
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: Keep up the good work. Cory Blake with The Ten says,
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: congrats to Mike Santana. His story proves that perseverance, hard work,
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: and dedication pays off. AW dropped the ball on him,
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: but he bet on himself and now he is a
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: world champion. Man, where where's Ortiz? I know he was hurt,
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: but I think he's not hurt anymore. And you don't
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: really hear about Ortiz. Tony Kahan does not appear to
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: be doing anything with Ortiz. Now you know why Mike
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: Santana probably left. I think that says it all. Bobby
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: Means says Javon Evans is definitely the future of WWE
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: in my opinion, I believe there is a strong possibility
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: and he becomes the new NXT champion, Come stand and deliver.
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: We are officially in the youth movement of WWE. Well,
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: I'll tell you what. The youth movement of WWE is
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: something that they're going to have to embrace because they're
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: aging out. They're aging out. You see all these legends
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: again that are winding down their careers either fully or
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: they're just not going to be full time anymore because
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: they just can't do it anymore. You've got to invest
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: in youth, and Javon Evans is definitely going to be
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: a major star for them. I see there were people
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: who believe that he should be called up to the
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: main roster right now, and you could do that. I'm
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: all for shaking up the rosters and calling people up
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: from NXT. Javon Evans would not be one of them,
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: not yet. Javan Evans is twenty one years old. Let
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: him continue to run in NXT. Give him the opportu
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: unity to hold the NXT championship and be the face
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: of a brand, and let him run with that for
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: a year, year and a half, two years, however long
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: it may be, and he'll be in a much better
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: position I think, to bring value to the main roster
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: once you're ready to call him up to RAR SmackDown,
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: because it's not as if they have this lack of talent.
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: There's plenty of talent. It's about what you do with
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: that talent. Javon is going to be there, but you
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: don't need to rush him to the main roster just
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: yet now. I kind of I think about that, Like,
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: he's twenty one years old. If you bring him up
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: to the main roster now and give him a big push,
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: I mean, it'll be nine years before he turns thirty. Like,
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: you really do run the risk of burning some of
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: these stars out a little too soon. You really got
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: to You've got to take great care with some of
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: these people and not rush them and not you know,
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: too much too soon. That's like I talked about that
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: with Stephanie vakaher and all the championships and all the
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: goal all the success that she's had so far and
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: the main roster, and I just really hope they have
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: a good plan to follow up on all of this
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: great success that she's had, because if not, you'll see
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: within a matter of months people will start complaining about,
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: you know, stale, her run is stale. I like her,
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: but her run sucks or on bored of her. All
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: she does is the Devil's kiss. It's coming. Oh, it's coming.
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: You've got to make sure you've got a good plan
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: for these people. Anyway, if you didn't hear the podcast
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: earlier today, go back and check it out. It's a
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: good show. Talked about a lot of WWE and AW stuff,
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: some NXT as well, some other news and notes, Raji Jackson,
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: the Little Paul Hayman, braun stroman Beef, dark Side of
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: the Ring news, a lot of good stuff on the
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: show today. I will be live tomorrow. I don't know
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: what time. It will not be ten thirty or eleven
- 1:46:55Speaker 1: o'clock at night. It may be in the evening, maybe
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: eight o'clock. I'll try to earlier if I can. I
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: may not be able to, so I will keep you
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: guys posted on X or just you know, make sure
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: your notification bell is on, and once the page goes up,
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: you should get some kind of a notification, and then
