- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Do you ever feel jealous, angry or insecure in your
- 0:44relationship? My name is Adam and the client I
- 0:47worked with in this particular session had agreed to an open
- 0:52relationship and that open relationship had certain clear
- 0:57expectations and rules to make it work for both sides and that
- 1:01was that. The relationship couldn't be a
- 1:04long term thing. Any other relationship outside
- 1:07of their core relationship had to be short term and feelings
- 1:10couldn't get involved and with them.
- 1:14Their partner changed that and started seeing someone else on a
- 1:18regular basis and that was leading to feelings of jealousy,
- 1:22insecurity and anger. Anger that something had changed
- 1:27that they were doing something that they weren't also doing,
- 1:31that they respected the rules and their partner didn't.
- 1:34Now they didn't want to end the relationship.
- 1:36They wanted to keep the relationship.
- 1:38They just wanted the feelings of jealousy and insecurity and
- 1:42anger to go down. And what this session does is an
- 1:46element of disassociating from the intense states of anger and
- 1:52jealousy and associating into states like acceptance and
- 1:58nonchalance and ambivalence. And the analogy here for this
- 2:02particular client is that they would feel completely neutral if
- 2:06their partner said they want to work out, you know, an extra
- 2:09night a week, they would feel completely neutral with that.
- 2:12But they didn't feel that same way if they said that they
- 2:14wanted to spend some time with someone else.
- 2:18This is all about reconnecting with a an empowering emotion
- 2:23that would work for that individual.
- 2:26Now, although this relates to open relationships and and kind
- 2:29of other people, at the core, it is about accessing and
- 2:33harnessing a resource state that works for the individual.
- 2:38So these dynamics don't have to be going on in your relationship
- 2:42in order for you to feel how you want to feel.
- 2:46But obviously, because it was with a client in this situation,
- 2:50some of the suggestions are quite specific.
- 2:52Some of the emotional or the resource states are quite
- 2:55specific. So ignore any suggestions that
- 2:57aren't relevant for you, hone into the ones that are, and if
- 3:01you like the idea of a bespoke session to deal specifically
- 3:05with your situation, in the description, there's going to be
- 3:08a link for you to schedule a completely free consultation
- 3:11call. We'll have a chat and it might
- 3:12be that we can work together and I help you for your situation.
- 3:17In the meantime, you might find some value from this.
- 3:20It uses principles of nested loops, levels of disassociation,
- 3:25but then also stage disassociation and that is
- 3:29disassociated from a resource state and then associated into a
- 3:32resource state. So I hope you get some value
- 3:34from that. So find a quiet, comfortable
- 3:36place where you won't be disturbed, relax and enjoy the
- 3:39session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 4:05you breathe in, breathe in that resourceful feeling of calm and
- 4:10relaxation. And as you exhale, feel a sense
- 4:18of release of any tension, any stress, any worries.
- 4:25Start to feel it leave your body as you exhale, each breath
- 4:31taking you deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 4:39That's it. I want you to feel an increasing
- 4:44feeling of calm and relaxation. And the deeper you breathe, the
- 4:51more relaxed you become. The more relaxed you become, the
- 4:57deeper you breathe. That's it.
- 5:01And as your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 5:10And I want you to imagine a place in nature, perhaps a
- 5:17beach, a forest, maybe the kind of forest with bright, vibrant
- 5:23greens, that specific shade of green that you see in nature.
- 5:31And I want you to imagine there, in that place, there on the
- 5:40ground is something strange, a spiral staircase leading down
- 5:48through the floor. Logically, you know this can't
- 5:55happen. You can't have a spiral
- 5:57staircase there on the floor of nature, and yet there it is.
- 6:04And just allow this to serve the same function as the rabbit hole
- 6:14for Alice in Wonderland. A portal to a place of change
- 6:21and new experiences to make a change in an area that is
- 6:30causing you emotional pain. Imagine standing at the top of
- 6:36that spiral staircase with the idea that it leads down to your
- 6:43own private cinema, a cinema beneath the floor of nature.
- 6:50And as I countdown from 12:50, you will imagine descending the
- 6:56spiral staircase into your own private cinema.
- 7:01And with each step down the staircase, you will find
- 7:04yourself drifting deeper and deeper, relaxed, like you're
- 7:11accessing a different part of your mind where profound change
- 7:17is possible. 10 taking that first step, nine, another step
- 7:24down, feeling more relaxed now loosen your neck and your
- 7:29shoulders, release any tension in your jaw.
- 7:33That's it. 9 becomes 8 even more relaxed.
- 7:39And then seven. That's it.
- 7:44Descending into your own private cinema. 6 and then five, halfway
- 7:50down the spiral staircase. Notice how you can breathe
- 7:57deeper. Maybe you can notice your arms
- 8:01and legs feeling limp, loose or heavy.
- 8:05That's it. And then four, another step down
- 8:09the staircase. 3 deeper still. 2 Little lightness in your chest,
- 8:22almost feel like your head is light, like a helium balloon. 2
- 8:27becomes one and then zero. Just imagine arriving now in
- 8:31your own private cinema. You have this cinema all to
- 8:37yourself and I want you to imagine you pick the most comfy
- 8:42chair possible. They're in that cinema and on
- 8:49the cinema screen. I want you to observe yourself
- 8:55initially in response to a question, maybe a question of
- 9:04something that creates A neutral, even a positive
- 9:08response. Maybe your partner asking it's
- 9:13OK if he works out at a particular time and just see
- 9:18your reaction, calm, neutral, indifferent, nonchalant,
- 9:25unfazed, unbothered. And I want you to imagine
- 9:32floating into the screen and feeling that way just so you
- 9:36know how it feels in response to a question, to feel completely
- 9:42neutral and indifferent and then float back to that comfy chair.
- 9:50And I want you to see a different memory A2 week period
- 9:58where certain questions were being asked.
- 10:02And for that period in time, you were fine with it.
- 10:04And I want you to see yourself like an actress out there on the
- 10:10screen and just see your body language, your breathing, your
- 10:15facial expressions, and in that moment, see yourself with a
- 10:22different internal strategy, a different recipe that for that
- 10:29period of time, things were fine.
- 10:34And that's because the evaluations and the meaning you
- 10:37gave something allowed those feelings.
- 10:45And if you can see yourself on that screen being fine even when
- 10:51a certain question is being asked, let me know by nodding
- 10:56your head. And I want you to imagine
- 11:03floating into the screen, embodying that version of you.
- 11:13Notice how you breathe. Notice the meaning you gave
- 11:18things. Notice a feeling of reassurance.
- 11:25You have the frame. Then there is no threat here, No
- 11:33big deal. Imagine the question being asked
- 11:40and you're fine with it. And if this feels like you're
- 11:48reawakening how to be that way, just notice how you breathe.
- 11:58Notice. Notice what you focus on, the
- 12:07meanings you give things, and if you feel this is a preferable
- 12:15way of handling a situation, irrespective of how long it
- 12:22lasts, let me know by nodding your head.
- 12:30That's it. As you remind yourself, there is
- 12:35nothing you have to do, only things you are choosing to do.
- 12:42But there is a difference between choosing to do something
- 12:45reluctantly and choosing to do something willingly.
- 12:52Choosing to do something reluctantly means you get the
- 12:57worst of both worlds. The thing still happens and you
- 13:03have those disempowering emotions, but when you make the
- 13:08same choice willingly, the thing still happens, but there is an
- 13:15absence of those disempowering emotions.
- 13:20Return back to that comfy chair in the cinema and I want you to
- 13:27imagine either seeing that same version of you.
- 13:33Totally fine. Or if your mind prefers a clone,
- 13:40an identical twin, that would be completely unbothered and
- 13:45unfazed. And I want you to see certain
- 13:49qualities in that future version of you, accepting, confident,
- 13:58unbothered, no need for anger or frustration or anything at all.
- 14:08And I want you to imagine seeing that version of you, cloned
- 14:15version of you, with a different way of thinking, perhaps one
- 14:21week from now. And I want you to see your
- 14:24question being asked and see that version of you completely
- 14:31unfazed, unbothered tone of voice, posture no different than
- 14:40if they were asked if it's OK to go to the gym for a longer
- 14:44workout or try swimming in a new pool.
- 14:49See yourself completely unfazed and what you can see that future
- 14:57version. If you like that, let me know by
- 14:59nodding your head. And then I want you to drift
- 15:07back into the screen one week further.
- 15:13A similar question is being asked.
- 15:16But now imagine from a first person perspective.
- 15:21Imagine being that clone or that version of you that could not
- 15:28care less. It's just information.
- 15:34Maybe it's framed like recreation, something of low
- 15:44significance and certainly no threat as you come to the
- 15:49conclusion that no one is better or worse.
- 15:54They're just different. Nobody can compete with you
- 15:59because you are uniquely you. What you've built over these
- 16:08years would take someone else the same time to build the same
- 16:13thing, and nobody can compete with that.
- 16:19And I want you to imagine that they ask the question and you
- 16:23respond in a way that is empowered, that it strengthens
- 16:32the relationship, doesn't weaken it.
- 16:36It reassures you because there is no secrecy.
- 16:39Things are being communicated. I want you to connect without
- 16:44feeling of if communication is connection, then there is
- 16:51connection. I want you to feel, then, the
- 17:00way of spelling love is TIME. Where does that person spend
- 17:09their time with? And I want you to get a feeling
- 17:14that when you change the frame, the narrative and the meaning,
- 17:24even intense emotions can dial all the way down, giving space
- 17:31for new emotions, empowering emotions.
- 17:36Jump forward a month from now, imagine a similar kind of
- 17:41question and feel how you would feel if it was no big deal.
- 17:46And when you get a sense that you're building, training, or
- 17:56reactivating certain neural pathways that would be useful
- 18:00for you, just imagine your mind rippling through space and time,
- 18:07backwards and forwards. So even thinking about certain
- 18:14things leads you to feel connected, loved, and reassured.
- 18:24Consider insecurities like false friends.
- 18:31Sometimes a false friend would try and stir trouble by putting
- 18:37certain thoughts in people's minds, and you don't need that.
- 18:43So allow those insecurities to have a different meaning and
- 18:49instead remind yourself nobody can be you and nobody can build
- 18:56what you've built. And as you connect with that
- 19:00feeling of self assurance, of self acceptance, then float back
- 19:09into the cinema and just imagine seeing a montage where your
- 19:16relationship gets better and better and better through
- 19:23acceptance, freedom and understanding.
- 19:33It's time to leave this cinema. But you're left feeling more
- 19:38like your clone and less like that insecure, anxious version
- 19:43of you that wasn't serving you anyway.
- 19:45That isn't you. That's your fears, and nobody
- 19:52can build something beautiful when fear takes hold.
- 19:58So leave that fearful part behind.
- 20:03And you leave that cinema empowered, confident, full of
- 20:08self assurance. Nobody can compete with you
- 20:12because nobody is you. Imagine climbing back up that
- 20:19spiral staircase. Finding yourself in that place
- 20:24in nature, but feeling reemerged as that confident, assured
- 20:32version of you. And very soon I will count from
- 20:361:00 to 10:00 and you will return again as that confident
- 20:42version of you. Being able to turn down the
- 20:45noise of those insecurities and dial up the volume on that
- 20:51version of you that exudes confidence and acceptance.
- 20:57Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 21:02nose. Just wiggle your fingers, wiggle
- 21:05your toes, connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I
- 21:11now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 21:16Starting to count 123 waking up 456 more alert 7-8.
- 21:24Open your eyes, open your eyes, 910.
- 21:28Wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
