- 0:42Sean McAllister: More on that huge announcement that we were there for coming up.
- 0:46Dayna Roselli: Plus, MGM Resorts International sells the operations of the Mirage to the Hard Rock International for more than$1 billion.
- 0:55Dayna Roselli: But what does that mean for the famed volcano out front?
- 0:59Sean McAllister: And you might blow your lid over this one.

- 1:50Sean McAllister: We are.
- 1:50Sean McAllister: And and don't worry, uh, in the meantime, in our during our break, we will update you on all the New Year's Eve festivities that are going on.
- 1:59Sean McAllister: But this will be our last full podcast of 2021.
- 2:04Sean McAllister: And I mean, even though it's the last of this year, it already has us looking well into the future, Dana.
- 2:11Dayna Roselli: It really does.
- 2:12Dayna Roselli: We have so much to talk about, and one of them being the Super Bowl that's coming in 2024.
- 2:17Dayna Roselli: We're going to get to there's like too much to talk about, so we're going to push that down a little bit because we've got a bunch of other stuff we want to go through.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: But yeah, we're looking out, and we say way into the future, but really two years isn't far away the way things have been, you know, flying by lately.
- 2:30Sean McAllister: It seems like it's just around the corner.
- 2:32Sean McAllister: So yeah, 2024, especially early 2024, February, is gonna be here in a flash.
- 2:37Dayna Roselli: But first we want to get to a bunch of things happening in Las Vegas, new announcements uh that have to do with shows and different attractions.
- 2:45Dayna Roselli: So let's get right to the big one, and that's Garth Brooks coming back in Las Vegas for his one-man show.
- 2:51Dayna Roselli: Okay, this is different than the big arena show.
- 2:54Dayna Roselli: You remember the one-man show he had over at The Wynn for a while.
- 2:57Sean McAllister: Which was so good.
- 2:59Sean McAllister: It was just Garth Brooks on stage on like an area rug with a stool and his guitar.
- 3:05Sean McAllister: He wore a hoodie and a baseball cap and just sat there and told stories and sang songs.
- 3:13Sean McAllister: It was probably one of the best shows that I've seen concert-wise.
- 3:18Dayna Roselli: I agree.
- 3:19Dayna Roselli: It was a great show.
- 3:20Dayna Roselli: So he's coming back now, and this time he'll be at the Park MGM.
- 3:23Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be in February.
- 3:25Dayna Roselli: It's a two-night only event, February 4th and 5th, and tickets go on sale December 22nd.
- 3:32Dayna Roselli: So if you want to see Garth Brooks, he is a hot topic because I've heard, you know, all of probably the last two years that there's like this war to try and get him to land a residency show here.
- 3:44Dayna Roselli: And it's like Caesars is in on an MGM.
- 3:46Dayna Roselli: I don't know, these are all rumors, but like everyone's kind of trying to get him to land somewhere again.
- 3:52Dayna Roselli: But he's going to the park MGM this time for just two nights.
- 3:56Sean McAllister: Well, and I wonder if this could be kind of a trial run to see how things go and see how he likes the venue.
- 4:03Sean McAllister: And who knows, maybe these two shows could turn into a longer-term engagement down the line.
- 4:10Sean McAllister: But yeah, as you said, Dana, just two shows for now.
- 4:13Sean McAllister: Um, speaking of engagements and and final engagements, Shania Twain is about to end her run at Planet Hollywood, uh, but she's got several dates planned in 2022 so that you can still see her on stage here in Vegas.
- 4:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she's still got a bunch of other dates to go, but she announced kind of like the final group of shows, and so you can get tickets for that.
- 4:38Dayna Roselli: There's a limited number of tickets apparently available for the previously announced performances.
- 4:42Dayna Roselli: Those are all in February, but now she's added June, August, and September to the rundown, but those are going to be her final dates at the Zappos Theater.
- 4:52Sean McAllister: Plenty of chances to see Shania.
- 4:54Sean McAllister: Also, the Doobie Brothers are coming to uh Zappos Theater.
- 4:58Sean McAllister: They'll do eight performances, and that's coming up in May.
- 5:02Sean McAllister: And you know, Dana, growing up, there was a guy on the radio, Brother Wheeze.
- 5:06Sean McAllister: Right in Rochester.
- 5:07Dayna Roselli: Oh, I loved him.
- 5:08Sean McAllister: And uh he always used to say, they ain't related, but they do be brothers.
- 5:13Sean McAllister: That's always stuck with me.
- 5:15Dayna Roselli: It's true, and that's such a brother Wheeze thing.
- 5:18Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, he's the best.
- 5:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I think he's still on the air in Rochester.
- 5:21Dayna Roselli: He is.
- 5:22Dayna Roselli: When I go home, I'll check it out.
- 5:23Dayna Roselli: I'm going home in uh for Christmas.
- 5:25Dayna Roselli: So um, gosh, brother Wheeze is is an icon over there.
- 5:29Dayna Roselli: Um let's talk Wayne Newton, also an icon.
- 5:31Dayna Roselli: He had a bit of a delay to his show that he's kicking up over at the Flamingo, um, but now they have a date.
- 5:36Dayna Roselli: It's January 24th, that he's gonna start shows over at the Flamingo.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: So don't worry.
- 5:43Dayna Roselli: Wayne is back, and you know, Don Cachet.
- 5:48Sean McAllister: And over at the Venetian, uh, this is Christmas, is the seasonal show that's being put on over at the Palazzo Theater.
- 5:56Sean McAllister: And Dana, I went and checked it out, and it really is such a festive show.
- 6:03Sean McAllister: The the staging is beautiful, the costumes are gorgeous, the singers on point.
- 6:08Sean McAllister: There's a lot of former American Idol contestants, uh, some other performers in the show that we've seen here in Vegas before, and they're back up on stage now, but just what a holiday delight.
- 6:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 6:22Dayna Roselli: It seems like it would be really fun.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: I couldn't make it, um, was disappointed.
- 6:25Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna try my best to get there, but I know you said it's good for the family too, so it doesn't just have to be the adults.
- 6:30Sean McAllister: So that's no, there were a lot of families in there.
- 6:32Sean McAllister: And I have to point out, even at the concession stand, there were holiday-themed uh drinks and snacks, so they've got it covered all the way around from the second you step foot uh in the lobby of that theater.
- 6:44Sean McAllister: You're in the spirit.
- 6:46Sean McAllister: So this is Christmas over at the Palazzo Theater.
- 6:50Dayna Roselli: And you mentioned the Palazzo Theater while also coming to the Venetian is this new attraction.
- 6:55Dayna Roselli: It centers around darts and being really social and food and beverage.
- 7:00Sean McAllister: I like that.
- 7:00Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 7:01Sean McAllister: I like all that.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: It's all good.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be in our tips.
- 7:03Dayna Roselli: We've got a great interview coming up in our tips segment, all about this London-based attraction that's coming to the Grand Canal shop.
- 7:10Dayna Roselli: So you don't want to miss that.
- 7:11Dayna Roselli: We're gonna tell you about another attraction that's already open, and it has to do with, well, I'll just say it, karaoke.
- 7:18Dayna Roselli: And it's over at Resorts World.
- 7:19Dayna Roselli: That's coming up in our tips as well.
- 7:21Sean McAllister: See, Dana wasn't lying, there is a ton to get to.
- 7:24Sean McAllister: Also, uh, we have some big gaming moves that are happening on the strip right now, and uh some of them are probably gonna disappoint you a little bit.
- 7:35Sean McAllister: There's a mainstay on the Las Vegas Strip that's well, it's going away more than likely.
- 7:42Dayna Roselli: Not staying?
- 7:43Sean McAllister: No, not gonna stay.
- 7:44Sean McAllister: It's no longer a mainstay.
- 7:46Sean McAllister: Um, we'll get into that in a minute, but first we want to tell you a little bit more about our sponsor, targeted tax relief.
- 7:54Sean McAllister: Now we know that tax time can be super stressful, especially if you owe a lot of money to the IRS.
- 8:01Sean McAllister: That can just hang over your head and be like a weight on your shoulders.
- 8:05Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 8:06Dayna Roselli: There's tax time, and then there's kind of like all year something haunting you.
- 8:10Dayna Roselli: And if it is, you want to call Tracy.
- 8:11Dayna Roselli: We use Tracy for our taxes, for our business and also personal.
- 8:16Dayna Roselli: She's one of our favorite people.
- 8:18Dayna Roselli: She has started Targeted Tax Relief and she's giving out free consultations for anyone that feels stressed out and thinks that maybe she can help you.
- 8:26Dayna Roselli: She can negotiate with the IRS on your behalf.
- 8:29Dayna Roselli: Okay, write this number down.
- 8:31Dayna Roselli: It's 888-843-4113.
- 8:36Dayna Roselli: Or you can go to targeted taxrelief.com, look around.
- 8:39Dayna Roselli: There's lots of information.
- 8:40Dayna Roselli: You can learn about Tracy, you can learn about what she does.
- 8:43Dayna Roselli: If you need tax help, definitely check out Targeted Tax Relief.
- 8:49Sean McAllister: And you know, Dana, this is something that I don't really talk about ever, but there was a period in my life when I was in really bad financial shape.
- 8:58Sean McAllister: I owed, I had a lot of debt, and the phone calls never stopped.
- 9:02Sean McAllister: I was always getting the letters from debt collectors.
- 9:06Sean McAllister: And, you know, I had to slowly figure that out on my own.
- 9:11Sean McAllister: But if you owe money to the IRS, you're getting those same calls.
- 9:14Sean McAllister: You're getting those letters.
- 9:15Sean McAllister: I know how it feels.
- 9:16Sean McAllister: It can be a lot.
- 9:18Sean McAllister: But Tracy and her team at Targeted Tax Relief, they are your advocates.
- 9:23Sean McAllister: They can be the ones who kind of call off the dogs.
- 9:27Sean McAllister: They deal with the IRS, they can make those letters and phone calls stop.
- 9:31Sean McAllister: It's like having someone on your side is a huge relief.
- 9:36Sean McAllister: And that's what Targeted Tax Relief does.
- 9:39Sean McAllister: They provide relief.
- 9:40Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and when we talked to Tracy, we said, What do you love about doing this?
- 9:43Dayna Roselli: You know, because you and I are like, who wants to do all these numbers and taxes?
- 9:46Dayna Roselli: But she said, I love seeing the relief on people's faces when I tell them, You're all set, we've worked it out, and she loves that part of it.
- 9:55Dayna Roselli: So 888-843-4113 or go to targeted taxrelief.com.
- 10:02Sean McAllister: All right, so we said that we had some big gaming news happening uh on the strip and really just off the strip, too.
- 10:10Sean McAllister: Uh we'll start with the palms.
- 10:12Sean McAllister: The palms is, you know, the iconic resort that became famous on the real world on MTV, and then it was just a celebrity playground and hotspot.
- 10:24Sean McAllister: Uh well, it hasn't reopened since it was shut down from the pandemic.
- 10:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it's it's a big miss.
- 10:30Dayna Roselli: I miss it.
- 10:30Sean McAllister: So do I.
- 10:31Sean McAllister: It was a great spot, had just undergone a multi-million dollar, like$30 million renovation from top to bottom.
- 10:39Sean McAllister: Um, and then had to close down.
- 10:42Sean McAllister: Now it's got new operators coming in.
- 10:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, apparently it's all been approved, and they're set to close the transaction and become the owners of the Palm Casino Resort with plans to reopen next year in the spring.
- 10:56Dayna Roselli: And so that'll be here before you know it.
- 10:59Dayna Roselli: And like you were saying, I mean, listen, it's great for Sandman while gaming because it's literally turnkey, don't you feel like that?
- 11:05Dayna Roselli: Because they just had the redo?
- 11:07Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 11:07Sean McAllister: I mean, all you have to do is put new signs up over the restaurants, and uh I mean, everything else is there.
- 11:14Sean McAllister: It and it's beautiful, it's a gorgeous property.
- 11:18Sean McAllister: So it it'll be great to be able to get back inside the Palms because that is a property that uh, you know, people have loved over the years.
- 11:28Dayna Roselli: Right, and so and when I say the transaction and all that, um, it's basically they received approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission as licensees for that property.
- 11:37Dayna Roselli: So if you want to get all technical, that's what it's about.
- 11:39Dayna Roselli: So that's always a huge step, you know, and then you're you're ready to go.
- 11:43Sean McAllister: Well, and you know, you can't announce opening dates until you know the the state gaming board gives you that approval.
- 11:51Sean McAllister: So now that that approval has gone through, we do have the spring opening date, the target date.
- 11:57Sean McAllister: So we've got that target.
- 11:59Sean McAllister: We've got an opening to look forward to coming up early in 2022.
- 12:04Sean McAllister: So congratulations, San Manuel Gaming and the Palms.
- 12:07Sean McAllister: We can't wait to have you back.
- 12:08Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 12:08Dayna Roselli: And if you're looking for a job in Las Vegas, check out their website because they are looking to fill, well, every position almost, right?
- 12:16Sean McAllister: It's empty right now, so lots of jobs out there.
- 12:19Dayna Roselli: And I know some people at the Mirage might be saying, I don't know if I want to stay here or not.
- 12:24Dayna Roselli: Maybe they're gonna go over there.
- 12:25Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 12:26Dayna Roselli: But and I say that because the Mirage deal finally went through too.
- 12:30Dayna Roselli: MGM's CEO Bill Hornbuckle announced they've reached an agreement with the Hard Rock International to sell the property operations to them.
- 12:38Dayna Roselli: Forget this,$1.075 billion.
- 12:43Sean McAllister: Yeah, when you're talking that money, that 0.075 means a lot.
- 12:47Dayna Roselli: It really does.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: I saw some people round up to 0.08.
- 12:51Sean McAllister: Yeah, so rounding or not, it's a ton of money.
- 12:53Sean McAllister: Uh the Hard Rock should take ownership uh and management of the Mirage in the second half of next year.
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and apparently they're gonna lease the Mirage name royalty-free for three years, so there won't be a name change, or well, they don't have to change it, I guess, for three years.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: Maybe it'll come in a couple, we aren't sure.
- 13:13Dayna Roselli: But I know uh I've seen some kind of rendered images of them wanting to build like a tower in addition to what they already have there and make it like a huge guitar.
- 13:24Sean McAllister: Right.
- 13:25Sean McAllister: Just like the one that they have at their uh property down in Florida.
- 13:29Sean McAllister: They have a giant hotel that's shaped like a guitar, a big glass guitar, and that's what they're looking to build uh reportedly right there in front of the mirage.
- 13:40Sean McAllister: However, that means that the famed volcano is gonna need to be demolished to make way for this big guitar structure, Dana.
- 13:51Dayna Roselli: I know, and you know, I assume everyone knows the volcano is there, but if you don't, it's a volcano that erupts every now and then.
- 13:56Dayna Roselli: It's right in front of the mirage as you're walking along the strip.
- 14:00Dayna Roselli: And a lot of people are saying, well, then that's gonna have to go.
- 14:02Dayna Roselli: And also, apparently, I was reading in Bloomberg that they admitted it's gonna have to go and that they're gonna do this whole redo.
- 14:10Sean McAllister: That's a gut punch.
- 14:12Sean McAllister: Because that volcano was, I mean, kind of, one of the first big free attractions on the Las Vegas Strip.
- 14:22Sean McAllister: When you think about it, the Mirage ushered in the era of the mega resorts on the strip, and the volcano that came along with it was a big free attraction.
- 14:32Sean McAllister: And then, of course, you know, the Bellagio Fountains came, and there's the pirate ships at Treasure Island, or a bunch of and those are gone too.
- 14:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, they're well, they're still there, but not really.
- 14:43Sean McAllister: Yeah, they're kind of like docked in in image only.
- 14:48Dayna Roselli: But yeah, apparently the Hard Rock International uh CEO, Jim Allen, said they're doing a massive redo and the volcano is gonna have to be torn down as part of the remodeling.
- 14:58Dayna Roselli: I don't know how I feel about it.
- 14:59Dayna Roselli: I was looking at the guitar there in the kind of skyline and I was like, I don't know, is it cheesy?
- 15:05Dayna Roselli: But I guess I don't want to say Las Vegas is cheesy, but it's, you know, not typical.
- 15:12Dayna Roselli: The way we have all the lit up property.
- 15:14Dayna Roselli: But I don't know.
- 15:14Dayna Roselli: I don't know if I want the guitar there or not.
- 15:16Dayna Roselli: I'm undecided.
- 15:17Sean McAllister: I know.
- 15:18Sean McAllister: Uh the guitar, that's up for debate.
- 15:21Sean McAllister: I'm with you on that.
- 15:22Sean McAllister: However, the one thing I am excited for is to have a hard rock casino back in Las Vegas.
- 15:30Sean McAllister: That's true.
- 15:30Sean McAllister: Because that really did feel like a part of Las Vegas was missing when the hard rock that was down off the strip on you know, Paradise and Harmon, when that closed down, it felt like a piece of Vegas kind of went away.
- 15:46Sean McAllister: So having that brand back is gonna be great.
- 15:49Dayna Roselli: I know, and you and I had always heard kind of a rumor that, like, well, they didn't really give up their gaming licensing here just yet.
- 15:55Dayna Roselli: So we knew we had a feeling that somebody, or that the Hard Rock, I was gonna say, was gonna take over some property.
- 16:02Dayna Roselli: We kind of had chatted and thought it was gonna be the palms.
- 16:04Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 16:04Dayna Roselli: But then now we find out it's the Mirage.
- 16:06Dayna Roselli: So really interesting anyway.
- 16:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, so it'll be the first time that a Hard Rock Casino is actually on the Las Vegas strip.
- 16:13Sean McAllister: The Hard Rock Cafe has been there for years now.
- 16:18Sean McAllister: Um, but yeah, Hard Rock Casino coming back to the Las Vegas Strip.
- 16:22Sean McAllister: Exciting news.
- 16:23Dayna Roselli: And listen, I've said on past podcasts, I think the Mirage does need a root redo, that's for sure.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: Kind of feels a little dated in there.
- 16:30Dayna Roselli: So I'll be happy to see that.
- 16:32Sean McAllister: And I think everybody is gonna be happy about this big football news that we just got this week.
- 16:39Sean McAllister: Las Vegas, the Super Bowl is coming.
- 16:42Sean McAllister: That is Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis sharing his excitement that Las Vegas is now getting the Super Bowl.
- 16:51Dayna Roselli: I mean, I don't even know where to start with this because it's so huge.
- 16:54Dayna Roselli: It's like the largest and biggest event in the entire country, right?
- 16:59Dayna Roselli: And we're gonna get it here in Las Vegas.
- 17:01Dayna Roselli: And apparently this was the plan all along.
- 17:03Dayna Roselli: You and I went to the huge announcement that was over at Allegiance Stadium.
- 17:06Dayna Roselli: We kind of knew what was going on, but we couldn't officially confirm until the owner's meeting was done and they all voted, and that took place in Dallas.
- 17:14Sean McAllister: And it was great.
- 17:15Sean McAllister: I love the fact that it was a unanimous vote.
- 17:18Sean McAllister: Every single team owner in the NFL agreed that Las Vegas should be the home of Super Bowl 58 coming up in February 2024.
- 17:30Sean McAllister: And, you know, that means that in from now, which is the beginning of 2022 to the beginning of 2024, there's a lot to get done before then.
- 17:42Dayna Roselli: There is, and I just want to say a couple negative comments I got on my Facebook.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: I want to address some of them because I mean, I feel like this is only positive, right?
- 17:51Dayna Roselli: I mean, sure, there are negative things that come along with anything that takes place in this, you know, size, this magnitude.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 17:58Dayna Roselli: But people are already saying, like, well, what about the parking?
- 18:00Dayna Roselli: And it's like, well, it's the Super Bowl.
- 18:03Dayna Roselli: So if you plan to park your car in the parking lot and you don't plan ahead, then that's on you.
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: Like you were saying we have, you know, parking lots in casinos that have, you know, buses going back and forth.
- 18:16Dayna Roselli: We have uh properties that'll be I'm sure having different kinds of events that you can take some time and walk over to the Super Bowl, there are gonna be enough options.
- 18:25Sean McAllister: Well, if you think that Las Vegas isn't going to think of a transportation plan, like you're on another planet.
- 18:33Sean McAllister: That is part of a Super Bowl plan in any city, is to have transportation built in for fans who have come come here for it.
- 18:41Sean McAllister: And also, unless the Las Vegas Raiders are one of the teams playing in the Super Bowl, there's gonna be visitors coming in from other cities.
- 18:52Sean McAllister: So it's highly unlikely that everybody is gonna be driving in to begin with.
- 18:56Sean McAllister: Right.
- 18:57Sean McAllister: Sure, some locals are gonna want to get tickets, but come on.
- 19:01Sean McAllister: Yeah, parking is not the biggest issue to figure out at this point.
- 19:04Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 19:05Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, you know, yeah, I agree.
- 19:07Dayna Roselli: And I think a lot of locals will want to go because of the Super Bowl taking place in Las Vegas.
- 19:11Dayna Roselli: I mean, listen, I want to go.
- 19:13Dayna Roselli: I'm already thinking, like, what can I do to work there, right?
- 19:15Dayna Roselli: Who needs volunteers and all that kind of thing?
- 19:17Dayna Roselli: I think everyone's thinking about that.
- 19:19Sean McAllister: Stamp hands.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, exactly.
- 19:21Dayna Roselli: They're gonna be filling a lot of jobs for that.
- 19:23Dayna Roselli: So um be thinking about that.
- 19:25Dayna Roselli: We'll keep everyone updated.
- 19:26Dayna Roselli: But yeah, that was one of the comments that I got.
- 19:28Dayna Roselli: And then another comment I got was like, I hope it doesn't bring in the same crowd as when we had the NBA All-Star game.
- 19:35Sean McAllister: And that was back in 2007.
- 19:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I feel like I don't I feel like this is different.
- 19:40Dayna Roselli: This is the Super Bowl.
- 19:41Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 19:42Dayna Roselli: Am I wrong?
- 19:43Dayna Roselli: I I mean I feel like people from all over the country are gonna come, but I don't know.
- 19:47Dayna Roselli: I I don't know.
- 19:48Dayna Roselli: I just I don't I don't correlate those two together, I guess.
- 19:51Sean McAllister: Yeah, I think I do not see any issue with Las Vegas hosting the Super Bowl.
- 19:59Sean McAllister: I mean, we are so well equipped to welcome uh guests for an event of this size that I think it's gonna be fantastic.
- 20:09Sean McAllister: And money-wise, it's gonna be incredible for the city.
- 20:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, they were saying, you know, we're going to at least take in at least 500 million, so half a billion.
- 20:20Dayna Roselli: Then there's like another 70 million and different kinds of room taxes.
- 20:24Dayna Roselli: Room taxes and things like that that we could potentially make.
- 20:27Dayna Roselli: I mean, and everyone's going, oh yeah, it'll just be like a two-day thing, and then it's gone.
- 20:31Dayna Roselli: I'm like, yeah, but two days of 500 million dollars.
- 20:33Dayna Roselli: I mean, we're gonna make a lot of money.
- 20:35Dayna Roselli: Every city that has a Super Bowl takes in a lot, it's a huge economic impact.
- 20:39Sean McAllister: And it's gonna be, I mean, a week of events and concerts and parties, and it's not just that weekend, it's a whole run-up to the weekend, and there's gonna be press days and there's gonna be media outlet.
- 20:54Sean McAllister: In addition to fans, there's gonna be media outlets from all over the world that are going to be coming here to cover the Super Bowl, and of course, all those media people need places to stay.
- 21:06Sean McAllister: They need to go to eat, they need to go out and use transportation.
- 21:10Sean McAllister: So every aspect of the Super Bowl is going to be a money generator for Las Vegas.
- 21:17Dayna Roselli: And it's gonna be one big party.
- 21:18Dayna Roselli: Nobody puts on a party like Las Vegas, and I was thinking, you know, we talked to the governor after the press conference, and I had so many questions for him, but I was thinking, um, as I was just kind of listening to him speak, I'm thinking, I mean, cities all over the country have had the Super Bowl before, but nothing is going to compare to Las Vegas.
- 21:37Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's just gonna be so much fun because we are so unique.
- 21:41Dayna Roselli: We're unique already.
- 21:42Dayna Roselli: And then add in, you know, now we're gonna have this huge, the biggest football game, you know, in the entire world happening in our city, it's just gonna be a blast.
- 21:51Dayna Roselli: So uh one of the things pointed out was hey, we got two years to prepare for this, right?
- 21:56Sean McAllister: Yeah, and Dana, since we were there at this big announcement.
- 22:00Sean McAllister: For Super Bowl 58, we asked the governor, are we going to be able to pull something like this off in such a short period of time?
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: Talk about the quick turnaround.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: Two years you've got to get ready for this.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: And I know you were pointing out that it is pretty quick.
- 22:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's it's real quick, but they've got a tremendous host committee that's put together to handle this.
- 22:19SPEAKER_03: Uh, that along with the LDC VA and the NFL are going to make it happen.
- 22:23SPEAKER_03: I'm confident we'll be ready.
- 22:24SPEAKER_03: If anybody can put on a big event, it's Las Vegas.
- 22:27SPEAKER_03: I think we all know that.
- 22:28SPEAKER_03: Uh the draft is coming this year, the Pro Bowl is coming this year.
- 22:31SPEAKER_03: They host Raider games on a regular basis.
- 22:34SPEAKER_03: But that Super Bowl is a whole nother level.
- 22:36SPEAKER_03: It's a whole nother uh level, and there's only one of them every year.
- 22:40SPEAKER_03: And what an honor it is to be able to host one of those games, and and I'm ecstatic for this happening.
- 22:45SPEAKER_03: And uh the Raiders kept pushing forward.
- 22:47SPEAKER_03: I gotta give them an awful lot of credit this entire time.
- 22:49SPEAKER_03: They never stopped, they kept pushing forward, hoping that this day would come, and it's finally gonna be here in February of 24th.
- 22:56SPEAKER_03: It's it's a gonna be a great day, and leading up to that is gonna be a great day.
- 22:59SPEAKER_03: They uh early on when they started the construction, they gave me this little bitty countdown clock that I kept.
- 23:05SPEAKER_03: They counted down from I don't know how many hundreds of days when that count clock finally went to zero and they finished the stadium.
- 23:11SPEAKER_03: Now to think that all these events had happened inside of the stadium, it's just an absolute dream come true.
- 23:17SPEAKER_03: It's something we could not have imagined would really happen.
- 23:20SPEAKER_03: There were a lot of people who said you'd never make it happen.
- 23:22SPEAKER_03: I remember meeting with the Commissioner Goodell and him saying, I don't know if you can support a team.
- 23:27SPEAKER_03: And I've we had some good conversations and good discussions, but Las Vegas, Nevada is a sports town.
- 23:32SPEAKER_03: The fans here love their sports, and I'm thrilled that they're they're gonna be here for the Super Bowl.
- 23:37Sean McAllister: So there you go.
- 23:38Sean McAllister: Our governor says, no doubt, Las Vegas will be ready.
- 23:42Sean McAllister: And uh, you know, two big events that we have to help us prepare for that.
- 23:47Sean McAllister: As you heard, uh, Las Vegas will be hosting the NFL Pro Bowl in addition to the NFL draft, and that's all uh coming up this next year in 2022.
- 23:59Dayna Roselli: I know, and you know, the slogan lately being tossed around is we're a sports town now.
- 24:03Dayna Roselli: I mean, you know, we started with the Golden Knights, and many other teams came after that.
- 24:08Dayna Roselli: Uh, we've got the WNBA team, we've got soccer, and now obviously an NFL team, and everyone said, No, it's not gonna happen.
- 24:15Dayna Roselli: You guys will never be a sports town, but hey, we're getting the Super Bowl.
- 24:18Sean McAllister: Well, and how funny is it?
- 24:20Sean McAllister: Do you remember just uh a few years ago, probably not even five years ago, there was a big uproar about the fact that Las Vegas could not even put commercials into the Super Bowl.
- 24:33Sean McAllister: Like Las Vegas as a destination, as a city, was not allowed to buy commercial time during the Super Bowl because we're a gambling town and how quickly the tide has turned.
- 24:46Dayna Roselli: And then I think there was also like if there was a commercial, you couldn't show one single casino shot in it at all, or something like that.
- 24:52Dayna Roselli: But yeah, I mean, it's crazy how things have have changed, and I mean, what fun this is gonna be.
- 24:57Dayna Roselli: And then, you know, I just like to comment I like to comment on people's comments, but some of the other negative comments, like, oh, I'm gonna take off work.
- 25:04Dayna Roselli: I don't want to be a part of any of this.
- 25:05Dayna Roselli: And I'm thinking, I guess I'm just such the opposite.
- 25:07Dayna Roselli: I do.
- 25:08Dayna Roselli: I want to be a part of everything big and iconic that happens in Las Vegas.
- 25:12Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 25:12Dayna Roselli: That's why I moved here and I never left.
- 25:14Sean McAllister: This is witnessing history firsthand.
- 25:17Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 25:18Sean McAllister: If you're coming in for the Super Bowl or if you live in Las Vegas, why would you not want to witness something like this?
- 25:25Sean McAllister: I don't know.
- 25:26Dayna Roselli: Like you said.
- 25:27Sean McAllister: It's cool.
- 25:27Dayna Roselli: I just want to be a greeter.
- 25:29unknown: Yeah.
- 25:29Sean McAllister: Hey.
- 25:30Dayna Roselli: Welcome to the Super Bowl.
- 25:31Sean McAllister: Understand it.
- 25:32Sean McAllister: Baggage claim at the airport.
- 25:34Sean McAllister: And welcome people.
- 25:35Sean McAllister: I don't care.
- 25:36Dayna Roselli: Well, no, then you won't see the game.
- 25:38Dayna Roselli: Well, that's true.
- 25:39Dayna Roselli: You need to get to the game.
- 25:40Dayna Roselli: That is true.
- 25:40Dayna Roselli: Well, that's okay if you're there ahead of time and then maybe you get a ticket to the game because you worked at the airport.
- 25:45Sean McAllister: Yes, yes.
- 25:46Sean McAllister: Uh one other quick mention, Dana.
- 25:48Sean McAllister: I I also saw that I believe it's Station Casinos that is already offering some prop bets for Super Bowl 58 in 2024.
- 25:58Sean McAllister: So if you're really chomping at the bit to lay some money down on the game, you are able to do it here in Las Vegas.
- 26:06Dayna Roselli: Then, of course, there are the jokes, Sean.
- 26:08Dayna Roselli: I saw someone reply to somebody and say, well, at least there won't be a home team advantage.
- 26:12Dayna Roselli: Basically saying the Raiders will never get to the Super Bowl.
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: But you know what?
- 26:16Dayna Roselli: I have faith.
- 26:18Dayna Roselli: We may turn around and kill it and be in the Super Bowl in 2024.
- 26:23Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 26:24Sean McAllister: Well, Mark Davis, the owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, uh during the the news conference to announce the Super Bowl, uh, Governor Steve Siselak said that Mark Davis promised him not only that a Super Bowl would be held here in Las Vegas, but the Raiders would be playing in a Super Bowl held in Las Vegas.
- 26:43Sean McAllister: So we've got a couple years to turn things around and I guess we don't have a couple years for the football schedule wise.
- 26:51Sean McAllister: Right.
- 26:51Sean McAllister: It's a little more truncated than that.
- 26:53Dayna Roselli: But listen, we've been working a lot with the Raiders and doing some stuff, and there's just it's a great organization, great people that work for them.
- 27:00Dayna Roselli: We've met some of the top players, and they they're good people, and they're happy to be here.
- 27:05Dayna Roselli: And listen, we're in the adjustment period, they're at a brand new stadium.
- 27:08Dayna Roselli: I think I think next year's our year.
- 27:10Dayna Roselli: I just feel it.
- 27:11Sean McAllister: Everybody's gonna feel at home.
- 27:13Sean McAllister: Las Vegas will be their city.
- 27:15Sean McAllister: I I agree.
- 27:16Sean McAllister: I agree.
- 27:17Sean McAllister: I think it's possible.
- 27:19Dayna Roselli: Another hot topic who's gonna do the halftime show.
- 27:22Dayna Roselli: People are going, please let it be the killers.
- 27:24Dayna Roselli: Please let it be the killers.
- 27:25Dayna Roselli: That'd be cool.
- 27:25Sean McAllister: What if it was killers and imagine dragons?
- 27:28Dayna Roselli: That'd be great.
- 27:28Dayna Roselli: I think it'd be great, right?
- 27:30Sean McAllister: Two Las Vegas-born bands.
- 27:32Dayna Roselli: And I think that, like you said, there's gonna be parties all week long, so there's gonna be opportunity for all sorts of top-notch talent and maybe local talent as well to be a part of all this stuff.
- 27:41Sean McAllister: And you know, Brendan Urey from Panic at the Disco is from Las Vegas as well.
- 27:46Sean McAllister: So what if it was the Killers, Imagine Dragons, Panic at the Disco?
- 27:50Sean McAllister: That would be insane.
- 27:52Sean McAllister: And if Brendan Urie uh had Taylor Swift come join him for their big song.
- 27:58Dayna Roselli: I love their song.
- 27:59Dayna Roselli: I was just listening it to it the other day.
- 28:01Sean McAllister: I don't know.
- 28:02Sean McAllister: The the possibilities are endless, really.
- 28:06Sean McAllister: Um and actually, Dana, sitting here in our our studio, you have a killer's poster hanging right behind you.
- 28:12Dayna Roselli: I do.
- 28:13Dayna Roselli: And I'm also pulling up all the Taylor Swift songs I downloaded to find the name of the one that we were just talking about.
- 28:19Dayna Roselli: Because sometimes you don't know the name of the song, you just kind of know how it goes.
- 28:24Sean McAllister: Yeah, there ain't no I in team.
- 28:26Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 28:27Sean McAllister: But you know there is a me.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: That's it.
- 28:32Dayna Roselli: Sounds good.
- 28:33Dayna Roselli: Yes, I do have a killers poster above me.
- 28:35Dayna Roselli: I was just listening to the killers the other day, too, while I was driving, and I was thinking, gosh, they're just so good.
- 28:39Dayna Roselli: They are they really are.
- 28:41Dayna Roselli: So anyway, that's a whole nother topic that we'll get into another time.
- 28:45Dayna Roselli: But um, and then hey, how about me getting recognized by the gov because of all my tweets?
- 28:51Sean McAllister: Okay, so listen to this.
- 28:53Sean McAllister: As uh we are wrapping up the the little interview with the governor of Nevada, uh, he's walking away from the reporters and Dana's standing right there, and he looks over and he says, Hey, it's so good to see you.
- 29:08Sean McAllister: I see everything you do on Twitter.
- 29:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and obviously I've known Steve Siselak for a long time, you know, because he was in the Clark County Commission and all that kind of thing, but I hadn't seen him in a while because you and I, because we're not, you know, working in, you know, for the local media anymore, where we actually go out to things and have to go to press conferences and stuff as often as we used to, we don't see people face to face.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: So he was like, hey, how are you?
- 29:34Dayna Roselli: Hey, how's it going?
- 29:35Dayna Roselli: It was kind of like he was like, you know, I'm glad you're still, you know, out there because I see you all the time on Twitter.
- 29:41Dayna Roselli: And I was like, did I just get Twitter recognized?
- 29:43Dayna Roselli: You did a gov?
- 29:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 29:45Dayna Roselli: That makes me feel good because I spent a lot of time on Twitter, and now I feel like, all right, at least people are seeing the tweets.
- 29:50Sean McAllister: Hey, I guess if the governor notices, then you're doing something right.
- 29:53Dayna Roselli: I'm Twitter famous.
- 29:55Dayna Roselli: It was a fun day.
- 29:57Dayna Roselli: We'll get into tickets and all that stuff and another podcast because there's so much to talk about leading up to the Super Bowl, which will be February 11th, 2024.
- 30:08Sean McAllister: Ready for some tips?
- 30:09Sean McAllister: Let's do it.
- 30:12Sean McAllister: So our tips this week are very attraction-based.
- 30:17Sean McAllister: And there's one attraction that's uh opening in the early part of 2022 that really caught our eye.
- 30:24Sean McAllister: Because Dana, do you remember a few years ago when Top Golf was first announced and then opened here in Las Vegas?
- 30:30Sean McAllister: We're like, oh, a giant driving range?
- 30:33Sean McAllister: Like, what's what's this gonna do?
- 30:35Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was like I was like, is this miniature golf?
- 30:37Dayna Roselli: What is it?
- 30:38Dayna Roselli: But I don't even think it was a few years ago.
- 30:39Dayna Roselli: I think it's gosh, was that like five years ago now or maybe more?
- 30:43Sean McAllister: Has it been?
- 30:44Dayna Roselli: I think so because I remember I was working at Channel 13 at the beginning, so it's like 2015, 2016.
- 30:49Dayna Roselli: So what are we at?
- 30:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah, something like that.
- 30:51Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, so it's like creeping up on a decade.
- 30:54Dayna Roselli: It is, but that's the thing, is you know, we didn't know what that was about, and then look, it's still there, and you cannot get a reservation in that place unless you make it way ahead.
- 31:02Dayna Roselli: So it's it's booming and it's popular and it's so much fun.
- 31:05Sean McAllister: And so we think that this new attraction has that same uh potential to really have a huge following and become really popular.
- 31:15Sean McAllister: Um, it's a London-based uh attraction.
- 31:18Sean McAllister: It's called Flight Club, not Fight Club like the Brad Pitt movie, Flight Club.
- 31:25Sean McAllister: And that's because it is an attraction based all around darts.
- 31:29Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and and and apparently food and cocktails too.
- 31:32Dayna Roselli: They're calling it like entertainment.
- 31:33Dayna Roselli: It's an entertainment concept, is what they call it.
- 31:36Dayna Roselli: So I think there's a lot going on there that people are gonna enjoy when it comes to going someplace and kind of doing something different.
- 31:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you and I said we gotta get an interview on this.
- 31:47Dayna Roselli: And so we dialed up state of play hospitality president Alan Chihon.
- 31:53Dayna Roselli: He was in Chicago.
- 31:54Dayna Roselli: We got him on the line and we talked to him all about what the flight club is.
- 32:00Sean McAllister: Well, Alan, thank you so much for joining us.
- 32:02SPEAKER_04: Well, thank you for having me.
- 32:03SPEAKER_04: I really appreciate the opportunity to uh give Flight Club exposure to the Las Vegas market.
- 32:09SPEAKER_04: We're well on our way to getting going in Las Vegas.
- 32:12Sean McAllister: So you're looking at a spring 2022 opening.
- 32:16Sean McAllister: So this is something to look forward to in the new year.
- 32:19Sean McAllister: And Alan, I have to say, back in my college days, which was a few years ago now, I used to be able to run a dartboard.
- 32:27Sean McAllister: I was really good.
- 32:29Sean McAllister: But how is Flight Club going to be different from those dive bars where I was shooting darts back in the day?
- 32:37SPEAKER_04: We we are definitely not a dive bar.
- 32:39SPEAKER_04: So there's first thing.
- 32:41SPEAKER_04: Um, I you know, it's different in a whole bunch of ways.
- 32:43SPEAKER_04: First of all, um, we are we are uh the technology involved in actually scoring the dart game is completely different from what you're used to.
- 32:52SPEAKER_04: So we've taken um traditional rifts, like if you if you played darts, you know, 501, 301, those type of games, we've simplified those a little bit.
- 33:00SPEAKER_04: Our version of that is called demolition.
- 33:03SPEAKER_04: So, and it's based off a score from 180.
- 33:05SPEAKER_04: Same principles of the game.
- 33:07SPEAKER_04: You're throwing darts, you're hitting, you're hitting the targets.
- 33:10SPEAKER_04: But what's fantastic about our technology is that we actually track the flight of the dart and it pinpoints where it lands on the board within 0.001 millimeters, and then automatically does all the scoring for you.
- 33:23SPEAKER_04: So none of that sloppy chalk, or I forgot what what I threw last game.
- 33:27SPEAKER_04: Um, each player throws three darts each time they're up.
- 33:31SPEAKER_04: And then uh each game is designed to play in about five to ten minutes, depending on the group size that we have.
- 33:37SPEAKER_04: And then on top of that, we overlay a fantastic food and beverage offering with what we have.
- 33:42SPEAKER_04: So we're doing um all food that kind of fits in with the ability to do an activity, so a lot of handhelds, but at a really, really highly executed manner.
- 33:52SPEAKER_04: We have a phenomenal cocktail list and then uh uh of course a full bar attached to this.
- 33:58SPEAKER_04: So uh I guess you would have to say a a more sophisticated uh grown-up than the dive bar that you're used to in in your college days.
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: So that's why they call it social darts, right?
- 34:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's correct.
- 34:12SPEAKER_04: I mean, the the reason we call it social darts is because uh the activity itself is really designed to get people to socialize in the environment they're in.
- 34:20SPEAKER_04: And one of the great, I I think one of the great uh testaments to what we do in our brand are that when you walk into our venues, you'll see very few people on their cell phones, which is uh extremely unique for this day and age.
- 34:35SPEAKER_04: Even when people are going out to eat, they're texting, they're Instagramming, we tend to captivate people and reconnect them in a way that is really social, um, that is uh becoming more and more rare, I think, in this world.
- 34:47SPEAKER_04: And so there's some really good upside to what we do from a from a socialization standpoint.
- 34:52SPEAKER_04: And it's really rewarding that we've obviously built a concept that keeps people engaged at a level where they can actually for a few hours at least put their cell phone down for a bit.
- 35:01Sean McAllister: And and right now, I mean, that's what all of this technology has been doing is kind of even though it's kept us connected, it's really created a disconnect when you're having that person-to-person experience.
- 35:15Sean McAllister: Um, but the darts that I have been used to, like I've been I've played in games of I don't know, probably up to six people or so.
- 35:25Sean McAllister: You can have hundreds of people involved.
- 35:27Sean McAllister: How is that possible?
- 35:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so so one one thing, so the the areas that you play darts in um are called hockeys.
- 35:35SPEAKER_04: Uh it's think of it like hockey without the H.
- 35:38SPEAKER_04: And those are all little semi-private areas.
- 35:40SPEAKER_04: Um, those we will book up to 20 people into those, but 12 people can be playing at a time.
- 35:46SPEAKER_04: So we do six at singles.
- 35:48SPEAKER_04: After a group of six, you start doubling up and you have teammates, so you alternate turns.
- 35:52SPEAKER_04: So that's part of the socialization process.
- 35:54SPEAKER_04: You throw, and then your teammates gonna throw the next time.
- 35:57SPEAKER_04: And so the meantime, the group is always circulating while you're playing.
- 36:01SPEAKER_04: Then what we can do if you're a much larger group into the hundreds, we we have multiple formats of tournaments where we can link the hockeys together and we can get up to 400 people playing simultaneously again against each other, that ultimately ends up in the top six as you whittle down the field.
- 36:18SPEAKER_04: The top six end up playing each other and it becomes quite the event, especially in a large social group.
- 36:23SPEAKER_04: If you brought a company of 100 people in and they're down to six, it becomes everyone kind of gathers around and starts to watch that finale.
- 36:30SPEAKER_04: And then we give out nice little um medals and rewards for anyone that ends up winning the tournament, so to speak.
- 36:37SPEAKER_04: And with that, in order to facilitate that, we have uh someone that uh also facilitates the gameplay that are usually entertainers or comedians or actors that help uh keep the group lively and uh keep the group moving and also keep the group entertained because when there's some downtime, you want to know what's going on with the other groups.
- 36:56SPEAKER_04: So it's a really neat way for us to be able to really take a group from as small as six all the way up to hundreds of people together and allow them to play the same game in the same format.
- 37:07SPEAKER_04: That's cool.
- 37:08SPEAKER_02: And I know, I mean, this is based in London, but there are other locations.
- 37:11Dayna Roselli: This is gonna be your biggest location.
- 37:12Dayna Roselli: And you know, Vegas is usually known in the past for gambling, and then it was more shows and entertainment, and it kind of fluctuates, but there seems like more than ever, people are looking for you know attractions and ways to get together and do things.
- 37:27Dayna Roselli: So you must think that this is obviously something that Vegas needs, is something that's gonna do well here, right?
- 37:32SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 37:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we we're we're really thrilled about the Vegas market because I think what we bring to the table is something that's kind of unique.
- 37:39SPEAKER_04: Um, I I can only think of one other concept currently in the market that does uh does what we do.
- 37:45SPEAKER_04: The great part about what we do is that you don't have to be very good at it to have a good time.
- 37:50SPEAKER_04: And um we think that there's you know, there's only so many steakhouses, uh, shows and nightclubs that you can hit, especially if you're in town socially or if you're in town entertaining clients.
- 38:02SPEAKER_04: We hit both of those markets, or if you're just looking for something to do that's unique that you may not get to find um where you're from, this is an opportunity to do something that's really unique, fun, and exciting.
- 38:14SPEAKER_04: So we think we hit all the all the potential markets in Vegas really well.
- 38:18SPEAKER_04: Um, and we're really really positive about the outlook of of where things have headed in the in the post-COVID environment in the Vegas market.
- 38:28Sean McAllister: And help us visualize when we when we walk into Flight Club over at the Grand Canal shops at the Venetian, yeah.
- 38:36Sean McAllister: What are we going to see?
- 38:37Sean McAllister: What are our senses going to be pinging off of?
- 38:40SPEAKER_04: You know, we I I will say I I don't want to give away too much because we're really doing some really unique things with the Las Vegas location, given where it's at, given the size of it, given the market, that you really have to do some amazing things to be recognized in the market.
- 38:57SPEAKER_04: I don't want to give too much away.
- 38:59SPEAKER_04: Um, we traditionally say we combine, and this is gonna sound like maybe like an odd mix of structure, um uh Victoria Fairgrounds.
- 39:08SPEAKER_04: So we don't want to use the word circus because we don't think elephants and things like that, but think Victoria Fairgrounds combined with uh with British Hub, but in a really unique, fun way.
- 39:20SPEAKER_04: Um, so you'll be engaged, you know, from from a a decor sense, you'll be engaged from in in uh in a path of discovery.
- 39:30SPEAKER_04: So we've made little zones throughout the entire space.
- 39:34SPEAKER_04: So each time you come in, you'll have a different, potentially a different experience than you had the last time you're in.
- 39:40SPEAKER_04: And uh we really believe that we've uh there's gonna be uh a centerpiece bar.
- 39:46SPEAKER_04: I don't want to say what it is, but it is gonna be it is gonna be quite spectacular when you walk in.
- 39:51SPEAKER_04: And we put a lot of time, energy, and effort into designing and thinking through this space.
- 39:56SPEAKER_04: So we're we're we're super excited.
- 39:58SPEAKER_02: Alan, thank you so much for spending some time with us.
- 40:00SPEAKER_02: We love when new things come to Las Vegas.
- 40:03SPEAKER_04: We're looking forward to really blending into the Vegas market and making Flight Club a unique part of the marketplace for not only the locals, but also for all guests joining the market.
- 40:13SPEAKER_04: So I'm really excited and thank you so much for the time.
- 40:16Sean McAllister: You got it.
- 40:16Sean McAllister: Thanks so much, Alan.
- 40:18Sean McAllister: So that'll be coming this spring to the Grand Canal shops over at the Venetian and Palazzo.
- 40:24Dayna Roselli: Let's move over to Resorts World now.
- 40:25Dayna Roselli: They have a pretty cool thing going on over there that we haven't talked about yet, and it takes place inside Zook Group's social gaming bar called Redtail.
- 40:35Dayna Roselli: Something that's always been popular is karaoke, right?
- 40:39Dayna Roselli: But a lot of places are kind of taking karaoke to the next level now.
- 40:43Dayna Roselli: There are a couple spots around town, but this is really unique over at Redtail.
- 40:48Dayna Roselli: They have launched three unique karaoke rooms, okay?
- 40:53Dayna Roselli: And you can sing, you can dance the night away.
- 40:55Dayna Roselli: It's got 44,000 songs to choose from.
- 40:59Dayna Roselli: And apparently it's a perfect spot to have some fun with friends and all that thing.
- 41:03Dayna Roselli: I haven't done it yet.
- 41:04Dayna Roselli: I've gone to a karaoke room that's similar, and we had so much fun because sometimes people are kind of reluctant to do it at first, but then everyone kind of opens up, and once you get into it, it's super fun.
- 41:14Dayna Roselli: So I wanted to mention that Resorts World has this place at Redtail as another option for people to go and have some fun with a group.
- 41:21Sean McAllister: Yeah, and two of these karaoke rooms hold six to ten people, and the other room holds ten to fifteen.
- 41:27Sean McAllister: But what's cool is if you have a bigger party, is it there's the ability to open all the rooms up into one big karaoke room that can house up to 30 people.
- 41:37Dayna Roselli: How fun.
- 41:37Sean McAllister: So you could have a big karaoke party if you're looking for like a corporate get together or an office party or maybe a big birthday party.
- 41:46Dayna Roselli: It's perfect for that.
- 41:47Dayna Roselli: And uh, they have you know food and beverage there too.
- 41:49Dayna Roselli: So basically anything you want for kind of a night out.
- 41:52Dayna Roselli: And you and I meant to get there before the holiday, but we've been so busy with work stuff.
- 41:56Dayna Roselli: We will eventually get to Redtail.
- 41:58Dayna Roselli: But um, we did see some pictures, and I've walked by the actual venue before, and it's just it's gorgeous.
- 42:03Dayna Roselli: I think it would be a great time for people if they're looking for something different to do.
- 42:08Sean McAllister: So we've got darts and karaoke.
- 42:10Sean McAllister: I love it.
- 42:11Dayna Roselli: Yes, that's a night out right there, right?
- 42:13Dayna Roselli: That is a night out.
- 42:14Dayna Roselli: Or a weekend out.
- 42:15Sean McAllister: Or a weekend.
- 42:16Sean McAllister: I think each one could turn into its own night.
- 42:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, now that I'm older, I can only do one thing at a time.
- 42:22Dayna Roselli: I used to be able to like keep hopping around, not anymore.
- 42:25Sean McAllister: I I look at my week, my my week on the calendar, and I'm like, oh man, there's two things going on this week.
- 42:33Sean McAllister: I don't know if I can deal with this.
- 42:34Dayna Roselli: I know, it's stressful, but you know, once we get there, we love it so much.
- 42:37Dayna Roselli: And I always always say, like, that was so much fun last night, and we have a great time.
- 42:41Dayna Roselli: Sometimes it just takes a little oomph because, you know, we're all trying to, you know, keep up with the busyness of what's going on here in Las Vegas.
- 42:48Dayna Roselli: We're so grateful, so thankful to keep busy, but we're not used to it.
- 42:52Sean McAllister: And let me tell you, I was just talking about this with my husband the other night after the big Super Bowl announcement.
- 42:58Sean McAllister: I don't think that we have even seen Las Vegas as a city firing on all cylinders yet.
- 43:07Sean McAllister: And I'm not even talking post-pandemic, I'm talking ever.
- 43:11Sean McAllister: Right.
- 43:12Sean McAllister: We have the Super Bowl coming, we have uh a caliber of entertainment in this city happening now that we have not seen before.
- 43:22Sean McAllister: I mean, when we have uh Celine Dion will likely be coming back in 2022, we have Katy Perry, we have Carrie Underwood, we have Adele coming, we have John Legend, we've got like the best entertainers at the tops of their game right now, in addition to world class sporting events.
- 43:45Sean McAllister: I think Las Vegas is uh about to get massive.
- 43:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 43:50Dayna Roselli: And I love all that, I do, but I must say I am missing some of the smaller things that are, you know, more in price point.
- 44:00Dayna Roselli: For living here.
- 44:01Dayna Roselli: What I mean is, you know, sometimes we want to hit something up a couple times a week, a few times a week, or we've got people in town, and we can't always hit the huge, huge thing.
- 44:10Dayna Roselli: I love all of it.
- 44:11Dayna Roselli: I just want all of it.
- 44:12Dayna Roselli: But I am missing.
- 44:13Dayna Roselli: I was talking with a couple entertainers, I'm not gonna say names, that had, you know, medium-sized shows recently, and they're bummed, you know, they're missing that.
- 44:21Dayna Roselli: And and they are finding places off the strip or downtown to perform, but they're missing, you know, being a part of the strip entertainment.
- 44:29Dayna Roselli: And I think for people that come here and stay for a long period of time, like you know, seven days or whatever, you may want to do a couple of the big, big shows, and it's awesome, but you want some things to do in between too that are very vegasy.
- 44:44Sean McAllister: And uh now that you say that, I'm immediately thinking back to I forget the name of the lounge, but it was at the Bellagio, and it's where uh Mayfair Supper Club is now.
- 44:58Sean McAllister: It used to be um like a a bar facing the casino with some bar top uh even before Hyde.
- 45:07Sean McAllister: Oh it was just in it was uh a bar with some bar top poker machines, and then behind that was a lounge where you could just go in, sit down at a table, and they had free entertainment up on the stage.
- 45:22Sean McAllister: And when you were walking by the casino and you heard the entertainers up there just rocking out and having a great time, sometimes people would get up and dance, but it was like the lounge kind of atmosphere, and I loved that.
- 45:38Sean McAllister: I'm so mad that I don't remember the name of the lounge right now, but it it overlooked the fountains, it was beautiful, and it was so much fun.
- 45:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, I think some of those things that you just would bump into, right, or just run into.
- 45:52Dayna Roselli: I mean, it it was fun.
- 45:53Dayna Roselli: I mean, listen, I just uh putting it out there, want to keep some of the other things coming back too, but I think you're right.
- 45:59Dayna Roselli: We just have such world-class stuff happening here in Las Vegas.
- 46:03Dayna Roselli: It is vibrant, it's exciting.
- 46:05Dayna Roselli: Um, we're gonna constantly keep seeing construction, unfortunately, for those of us that live here.
- 46:11Dayna Roselli: I feel like every turn we make there's construction, but we're building and we're building.
- 46:13Dayna Roselli: Hey, let's we haven't even touched on the sphere.
- 46:15Dayna Roselli: I mean, the sphere is really coming along behind the Venetian, right?
- 46:19Sean McAllister: It's almost in the outside is almost entirely like closed in.
- 46:23Sean McAllister: The structure is you can't even see it anymore.
- 46:25Dayna Roselli: And then when the fountain blue is complete, I mean, there's stuff happening that the over the next five years is gonna be incredible here in Las Vegas.
- 46:33Dayna Roselli: We're excited about all of it.
- 46:35Dayna Roselli: We've had a wonderful year with everyone in in 2021.
- 46:38Dayna Roselli: We appreciate you listening to the podcast.
- 46:40Dayna Roselli: Our numbers have grown so much.
- 46:42Dayna Roselli: We are constantly in the charts, and you know, it's not always about the charts, but it does make us happy to go.

- 46:52Dayna Roselli: They find our information valuable.
- 46:53Dayna Roselli: We put a lot of time into this, so we we appreciate you listening.
- 46:57Sean McAllister: And again, we are taking a couple weeks off as uh we finish out uh 2021, but we'll be back uh the first week of 2022 with an all-new episode for you.

- 47:25Dayna Roselli: We are gonna put up a video because we were there of some of the interviews and what it looked like inside Allegiant Stadium when they made the big announcement.
- 47:32Dayna Roselli: So if you want to go check out that video, go there.

- 48:25Dayna Roselli: Oh my goodness.
- 48:26Dayna Roselli: Tons of New Year's Eve events happening, like Sean mentioned at the top of the podcast.
- 48:30Dayna Roselli: So we'll put up a special report for that with a full rundown.
- 48:33Dayna Roselli: There's so much going on in Las Vegas.
- 48:36Dayna Roselli: Happy New Year, Merry Christmas, happy holidays, all that good stuff.
- 48:40Dayna Roselli: Sean, I love my popcorn device that you gave me for the microwave, by the way.
- 48:45Dayna Roselli: You pour the kernels in, it pops he knows I love my popcorn.

- 49:00Dayna Roselli: Uh oh, is this the where we do the cheesy line of see you next year.
- 49:04Sean McAllister: See you next year.
- 49:09SPEAKER_00: Open the middle of the bag.
- 49:12unknown: Let's do it.
