- 0:01Speaker 1: Big 98.7.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Hopefully your house is not like my house, where if
- 0:07Speaker 2: you bought your Halloween candy already, sadly it didn't make
- 0:09Speaker 2: it to Halloween. We got to make another trip.
- 0:11Speaker 3: This happened to you last year, too.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Why do you do that? Well, I don't buy it.
- 0:16Speaker 3: But you just eat it.
- 0:18Speaker 2: That's right. And you best believe I will be the
- 0:21Speaker 2: one to have to go replace it, as I should. Duh.
- 0:24Speaker 4: All right.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Well, I have actually recorded what it sounds like opening
- 0:28Speaker 2: up Some of the world's most famous candy.
- 0:31Speaker 5: Oh, jeez.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:32Speaker 2: So you're going to hear some crinkle crinkles, and you
- 0:34Speaker 2: need to tell me what candy bars these are.
- 0:35Speaker 6: Do they really sound different?
- 0:37Speaker 3: 1,000%.
- 0:38Speaker 6: I can't wait to hear.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:40Speaker 2: What candy bar is this? Because it clearly sounds like
- 0:46Speaker 2: what it is.
- 0:48Speaker 6: It does?
- 0:48Speaker 2: Yeah, 100%.
- 0:49Speaker 3: A Snickers?
- 0:51Speaker 6: Three Musketeers.
- 0:53Speaker 2: You're both wrong. Obviously a Kit Kat.
- 0:56Speaker 1: What?
- 0:57Speaker 4: Obviously.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Obviously a Kit Kat? Obviously a Kit Kat? Are you
- 1:01Speaker 2: kidding me?
- 1:01Speaker 3: No, I want to hear it one more time.
- 1:02Speaker 2: You want to hear this one? Okay.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, definitely. That was the Kit Kat?
- 1:07Speaker 2: Obviously a Kit Kat, yeah. You know what?
- 1:08Speaker 3: Now that I hear it back.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Yeah, right? Now you're catching what I'm throwing.
- 1:11Speaker 6: Okay, and now I want a Kit Kat, too, by
- 1:13Speaker 6: the way.
- 1:15Speaker 2: What about this? What candy is this? A little bit different.
- 1:21Speaker 3: That's the Snickers. Do that again.
- 1:23Speaker 2: You want it again?
- 1:24Speaker 7: Yes, please.
- 1:28Speaker 6: Oh, no. Peanut M & M' s.
- 1:34Speaker 2: That is not a bad guess.
- 1:36Speaker 3: So is it a Snickers or a peanut M & M?
- 1:39Speaker 2: No, it's not. It is Skittles. You can kind of
- 1:45Speaker 2: hear the extra air in there.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Yeah, like you're pulling it apart.
- 1:50Speaker 6: That's kind of what I was thinking. All right.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I have two more for you. Here's this one. Another one.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Clear as day.
- 1:59Speaker 3: You know what?
- 2:00Speaker 6: A Snickers.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Almond Joy.
- 2:03Speaker 2: And you know what? Snickers is finally correct. Way to go.
- 2:07Speaker 1: It's because I know you love a Snickers, so I
- 2:09Speaker 1: was like, it's got.
- 2:10Speaker 3: To be in the rotation.
- 2:12Speaker 2: You were playing the man, not the game.
- 2:13Speaker 7: Yes. If you don't guess Snickers for one more, I'm
- 2:16Speaker 7: going to be disappointed.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I have one more for you. All right. You ready?
- 2:25Speaker 3: Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.
- 2:27Speaker 2: That's a good guess.
- 2:29Speaker 5: Oh.
- 2:29Speaker 2: So I feel like it's wrong. So Megan, you've.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Got to come in clutch here.
- 2:32Speaker 6: My goodness, it's so close.
- 2:34Speaker 2: You want to hear it again?
- 2:35Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:40Speaker 6: It's not a Reese's peanut butter cup, but I don't know.
- 2:46Speaker 2: This one has a little more air to it, so
- 2:48Speaker 2: we're thinking kind of like the Skittles wrapper.
- 2:50Speaker 6: The peanut M & M' s again.
- 2:51Speaker 2: It is M & M' s, yes.
- 2:52Speaker 5: Yay!
- 2:54Speaker 2: You guys went two for four. And I'll tell you what,
- 2:57Speaker 2: I could use a candy bar this morning.
- 2:59Speaker 6: Me too.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Celebrating life's little victories.
- 3:05Speaker 8: Victory.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Every morning we practice gratitude on Big 98.7. If I could,
- 3:10Speaker 2: I would keep this feeling in a plastic jar. Bust
- 3:13Speaker 2: it out whenever someone's acting hard. I just really needed
- 3:16Speaker 2: a win, you know. Share your little victories with us
- 3:19Speaker 2: at 701-280-1987. Now, normally Megan, you go first and we'll
- 3:24Speaker 2: have you go first. Today I'll go second.
- 3:26Speaker 6: And then end with Angie.
- 3:27Speaker 2: We'll let Angie go last because her little victory is cheating.
- 3:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 3:31Speaker 6: It's not really a little victory. It's a pretty big victory,
- 3:34Speaker 6: I think.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Okay, but you always say take them all, big or small.
- 3:37Speaker 2: That is true.
- 3:38Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 3:38Speaker 2: That is true. It's a victory. I just don't want
- 3:40Speaker 2: to go last today.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Okay.
- 3:42Speaker 6: Because ours are.
- 3:43Speaker 7: Going to pale in comparison to yours is what he's
- 3:46Speaker 7: trying to say.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Right, right, right. Megan, what do you got?
- 3:49Speaker 7: So for me, if you're a dog parent, I feel
- 3:51Speaker 7: like even a parent, you probably appreciate this.
- 3:54Speaker 6: So yesterday, my dogs had to bring them to the groomer.
- 3:57Speaker 3: So I had like.
- 3:58Speaker 7: two and a half hours of not having my dogs
- 4:00Speaker 7: there oh yeah so what did i do.
- 4:03Speaker 5: I vacuumed my whole house top to bottom because they
- 4:07Speaker 5: always bark and bite at the vacuum so i was
- 4:11Speaker 5: like no i didn't have any of that and i
- 4:12Speaker 5: got i mean i got every nook and cranny and
- 4:14Speaker 5: there was so much dog hair and i felt so
- 4:16Speaker 5: clean and then i'm like oh now they're gonna come
- 4:18Speaker 5: back and put their dog hair everywhere but.
- 4:20Speaker 2: It was glorious Megan had the cleanest house in Horace
- 4:23Speaker 2: for 18 minutes. That's right.
- 4:24Speaker 1: 100%. That's a little victory for sure.
- 4:28Speaker 2: That is definitely a little victory because I know exactly
- 4:30Speaker 2: what you're talking about. Winona is terrified of the vacuum.
- 4:33Speaker 2: So she doesn't bark or yell, but she will try
- 4:36Speaker 2: to sprint around our house, which is hardwood floors. And
- 4:41Speaker 2: she's just flying everywhere and knocking everything over. So we've
- 4:45Speaker 2: actually had to start putting her in like a room
- 4:47Speaker 2: when Corey wants to. Yeah.
- 4:49Speaker 6: I have to lock my dogs. Nala will bite at
- 4:52Speaker 6: the vacuum.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:53Speaker 6: I'm like, girl, go away.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 2: My little victory. So for the first time this weekend,
- 4:59Speaker 2: I had a sick kid. I've never had a sick
- 5:02Speaker 2: child in my life. For three months, we made it.
- 5:04Speaker 2: And then right when we got to about three months,
- 5:06Speaker 2: after one week of daycare, Kaylee got us very, very mild.
- 5:10Speaker 2: It was very mild. And she was still laughing and
- 5:13Speaker 2: seemed happy. So, you know, she was doing fine. But
- 5:15Speaker 2: she does no longer have a mild fever. Now she
- 5:20Speaker 2: just has a stuffy nose. And dad has become the greatest...
- 5:24Speaker 2: What would you call it?
- 5:25Speaker 3: Booger sucker.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Booger sucker. Yeah, I was trying to think of a
- 5:27Speaker 2: better way to put it. Yeah, that's what it is.
- 5:29Speaker 2: That's what parenthood is. I've become the greatest booger sucker
- 5:32Speaker 2: of all time.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Good for you.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Which is funny to just say out loud.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Yum.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Angie, what do you got? You had a pretty
- 5:39Speaker 2: awesome vacation.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Well, my son turned 16, Aiden.
- 5:43Speaker 1: And so for his birthday, Mikey, it was Mikey's idea
- 5:48Speaker 1: because he really loves Disneyland.
- 5:49Speaker 3: So he was like, we're taking a trip to Disneyland.
- 5:52Speaker 3: So we spent... Three days out in California, we hopped between.
- 5:56Speaker 2: So it was Disneyland, not Disney World?
- 5:58Speaker 3: Not Disney World. That's Florida. Yeah.
- 6:01Speaker 1: So we hopped between Disneyland and California Adventure.
- 6:05Speaker 6: That's awesome.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Disney really, by the way, like, I hate that I
- 6:09Speaker 1: fell for the propaganda, but.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Like, man.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Loved it.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Disney's so dope.
- 6:13Speaker 6: Disney is.
- 6:14Speaker 4: So dope.
- 6:15Speaker 3: But the kids had a really, really great time.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Yeah. I would catch Aiden saying to his little brother, like, man,
- 6:23Speaker 1: I really love my life.
- 6:25Speaker 3: I heard him say that a couple times throughout the trip,
- 6:27Speaker 3: and so that was like the most heartwarming part. I
- 6:30Speaker 3: love it.
- 6:32Speaker 2: That made those $ 1, 200 Disney tickets all worth it.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh. I don't even know how much they cost.
- 6:36Speaker 3: I was like, don't tell me. Don't tell me. I
- 6:38Speaker 3: don't want to know.
- 6:40Speaker 1: And I came back not as a full-blown Disney adult,
- 6:44Speaker 1: and for me, that's a win.
- 6:45Speaker 3: All right.
- 6:46Speaker 2: That's the victory part. Good job. We do have another
- 6:49Speaker 2: little victory here from Kayla. This is actually a wonderful story.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Kayla said, I'll be 40 in February and made it
- 6:56Speaker 2: official and had my stepdad adopt me yesterday. I love
- 7:00Speaker 2: this so much. Yeah. He's always been my dad. I've
- 7:03Speaker 2: wanted this since I was a little girl. This is
- 7:05Speaker 2: from Kayla. Well, hey, congratulations, Kayla.
- 7:08Speaker 1: This is like the best little victory I've ever heard.
- 7:11Speaker 3: It makes me want to cry. That's really sweet.
- 7:13Speaker 7: I know. I have like goosebumps now because like, oh,
- 7:16Speaker 7: I love this so much.
- 7:16Speaker 6: And thank you so much for sharing.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Such an awesome picture.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Oh, this is just the sweetest.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Man, Angie can't even win when she goes to Disney.
- 7:27Speaker 3: No, I don't care about that.
- 7:29Speaker 2: This is amazing. What a cool story, Kayla. Congratulations. Now,
- 7:38Speaker 2: there have been some people wondering, well, what the heck
- 7:40Speaker 2: happened to Angie?
- 7:42Speaker 6: I know. We've had a lot of those questions.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Where's Angie? Megan and I have been fielding questions for
- 7:46Speaker 2: the past four shows. How long were you gone again? Four?
- 7:50Speaker 3: Four.
- 7:50Speaker 7: Four.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Four shows.
- 7:51Speaker 6: Glad you're back.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I'm glad to be back. As much as I love vacation,
- 7:55Speaker 1: I feel like this is home. So I am glad
- 7:58Speaker 1: to be back. But I did want to get your
- 8:00Speaker 1: take on this because there's something I did on vacation.
- 8:05Speaker 3: We went to Disneyland.
- 8:07Speaker 5: Yes.
- 8:07Speaker 1: That both my kids, my two boys, and my boyfriend
- 8:11Speaker 1: Mikey were like, I don't.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Know, Mom.
- 8:15Speaker 1: And I just felt like I was making conversation. So
- 8:19Speaker 1: here's the thing. We stayed at a hotel that has
- 8:21Speaker 1: you take a shuttle to go to Disneyland, okay? And
- 8:25Speaker 1: so in these lines before you get on the shuttle,
- 8:29Speaker 1: they have the bag check. So you give, you know,
- 8:32Speaker 1: the people are there, they check your bag, you put
- 8:34Speaker 1: your items in a tray, almost like you're going through
- 8:36Speaker 1: the airport, right?
- 8:37Speaker 6: Right.
- 8:38Speaker 3: And then you walk through the metal detector.
- 8:40Speaker 1: And so, you know, my kids go through, Mikey goes through.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I had a backpack, though, and.
- 8:46Speaker 1: There was a lot of stuff in it because I
- 8:48Speaker 1: had to be a prepared mom for this excursion.
- 8:51Speaker 6: Somebody had to be responsible.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Got it. Exactly.
- 8:53Speaker 2: You got to have the diapers. You got to have
- 8:55Speaker 2: the formula.
- 8:56Speaker 1: All that.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Oh, wait, no.
- 8:58Speaker 3: I don't have that.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Wait a second.
- 9:00Speaker 6: What's going on?
- 9:01Speaker 3: But you do get the vibe.
- 9:03Speaker 1: You know now as a parent that you have to
- 9:06Speaker 1: bring all of the things.
- 9:07Speaker 3: So I walked through.
- 9:08Speaker 1: The guy is checking my bag and he gets to
- 9:12Speaker 1: the front pocket and he looks in it and he
- 9:15Speaker 1: kind of.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Makes wide eyes.
- 9:17Speaker 6: Uncomfortable. I know what's in there.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Okay. You do know what's in there. It was just
- 9:23Speaker 3: a grip. Of tampons.
- 9:25Speaker 7: Okay?
- 9:26Speaker 1: I had a lot of tampons in there because maybe
- 9:29Speaker 1: I was going to start.
- 9:30Speaker 6: You never know.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:31Speaker 3: You never know when Aunt Flo is going to.
- 9:33Speaker 6: You have to be prepared. Yes.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Because Aunt Flo loves a good vacation. I think women
- 9:38Speaker 3: will agree.
- 9:39Speaker 7: Every time.
- 9:42Speaker 6: Oh, you're going on vacation? Me too.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Me too. Hey, you got to be ready so you
- 9:47Speaker 2: don't have to get ready.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Right.
- 9:48Speaker 4: Right.
- 9:49Speaker 1: So then I see him make this face and I said, okay.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Now you know I might start my period. And he
- 9:55Speaker 1: was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, that was TMI. And I
- 9:59Speaker 1: was like, you literally just saw all of those in there.
- 10:03Speaker 1: And he was like, ah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but I
- 10:06Speaker 1: don't know. We don't need to talk about it.
- 10:08Speaker 7: Do you not have any females in your life, dude?
- 10:10Speaker 5: Right.
- 10:10Speaker 3: I said, bro, you work with women. You need to know.
- 10:13Speaker 1: And there was another woman who was standing there next
- 10:16Speaker 1: to me and she was dying of laughter.
- 10:18Speaker 3: And he was like, well, I don't know when they're
- 10:20Speaker 3: on theirs. And I was like, probably you get the vibe, though.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Probably have an idea.
- 10:25Speaker 3: So she was laughing. I was laughing. He was uncomfortably laughing. Good.
- 10:30Speaker 1: And then I look over and Mikey, Aiden, and Liam
- 10:34Speaker 1: shaking their heads in shame.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Whatever.
- 10:37Speaker 1: And I just feel like, okay, I just feel like
- 10:39Speaker 1: I was making light of a situation.
- 10:41Speaker 3: I bet you he remembers that interaction for at least
- 10:44Speaker 3: a week.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 10:45Speaker 6: Maybe longer, actually.
- 10:46Speaker 7: Because how has he not had that interaction before is
- 10:49Speaker 7: the better question.
- 10:51Speaker 6: Like, come on.
- 10:52Speaker 3: I can't have been the only one to ever mention it.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Gabe, what are your thoughts as the resident male on
- 10:57Speaker 1: the Big 98.7 Morning Show?
- 10:58Speaker 2: I know exactly what this guy looked like, sounded like,
- 11:03Speaker 2: acted like when he came upon a bunch of tampons.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I know exactly. Because I would do the same thing.
- 11:08Speaker 2: I'd be, oh, yeah, all right.
- 11:10Speaker 5: What?
- 11:11Speaker 2: You know, you don't need to treat it like some disease. Right? Yeah.
- 11:14Speaker 2: But I also be like, all right. Yep. Didn't see that.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Here's your bag. Off you go. I don't know what's
- 11:20Speaker 2: in here. Could it be anthrax?
- 11:22Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 11:23Speaker 6: Come on.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Big.
- 11:25Speaker 7: Droppy.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Droppy.
- 11:26Speaker 5: Big 98.7.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Big old Jack. You're about to hop on a plane.
- 11:33Speaker 2: You are going on vacation. You get on the plane
- 11:35Speaker 2: and you realize, oh, no, I forgot the one thing
- 11:38Speaker 2: I bring with me everywhere. We need to know what
- 11:41Speaker 2: is the item you will not leave the house without,
- 11:43Speaker 2: specifically if you're traveling or you maybe even got to
- 11:46Speaker 2: go somewhere for work.
- 11:47Speaker 5: 701-280-7000.
- 11:49Speaker 2: One nine eight seven. Samara Weaving is an Australian actress
- 11:53Speaker 2: and model. If you see her, you know exactly who
- 11:55Speaker 2: it is. She's one of those.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Yeah, she's a scream queen. She's super hot.
- 11:59Speaker 6: Yeah, she looks very much like Margot Robbie.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Yeah, sisters.
- 12:02Speaker 3: They need to play sisters in a movie. But yes,
- 12:05Speaker 3: she is a scream queen.
- 12:07Speaker 1: So this is very appropriate because Spooky sees it right.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Well, whenever she has to stay in a hotel, an
- 12:12Speaker 2: Airbnb or go somewhere for work. This is what she brings.
- 12:16Speaker 8: All my jobs, I pack my PlayStation 5 in my suitcase,
- 12:20Speaker 8: which is insane. It takes up half the suitcase, and
- 12:23Speaker 8: no one can lift it, and they all hate me.
- 12:24Speaker 8: But I bring it to every Airbnb and hotel that
- 12:28Speaker 8: I stay at. And for this one job where I
- 12:30Speaker 8: was race car driving, I had the steering wheel, the pedals...
- 12:34Speaker 8: And then the PlayStation all hooked up. And whenever like
- 12:37Speaker 8: cast members or the director would come over, they'd be going,
- 12:40Speaker 8: what you doing, Sam? Like nothing, just playing my little
- 12:43Speaker 8: video games. They were like, hey, do you want to come.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Out for dinner?
- 12:47Speaker 8: And we're going shopping. I was like, no, I'm playing
- 12:49Speaker 8: Assassin's Creed.
- 12:50Speaker 4: Sorry.
- 12:51Speaker 3: You just got so much hotter.
- 12:52Speaker 2: I just got a new crush on you.
- 12:54Speaker 6: I was just going to say, like, how excited are you, Gabe?
- 12:57Speaker 6: Because you liked a game.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I've never played Assassin's Creed or any race car game,
- 13:01Speaker 2: but I don't care. She could run me over with
- 13:04Speaker 2: a car, and that'd be fun.
- 13:05Speaker 8: Yay!
- 13:06Speaker 3: Okay, we're losing the plot.
- 13:08Speaker 2: We're losing it. Oh, you're right.
- 13:09Speaker 5: Sorry, sorry.
- 13:10Speaker 6: Back to, yeah.
- 13:11Speaker 2: So she brings her PS5 with her everywhere she goes.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Would you have guessed that?
- 13:15Speaker 1: That's actually insane behavior.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Yeah, 1,000%. Well, what do you two bring whenever you're traveling?
- 13:20Speaker 1: I always bring a portable fan, like with a little,
- 13:24Speaker 1: you know, the battery operated one.
- 13:26Speaker 3: And then when that one dies.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I have like a handheld fan to fan myself because
- 13:30Speaker 1: it does not matter what time.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Of year it is. I overheat.
- 13:35Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Like winter, the AC is on in my car. It's
- 13:38Speaker 3: a problem. I'm always hot all the time. And so
- 13:42Speaker 3: when I travel, I have to have the fan.
- 13:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:45Speaker 7: I have to, I just like the white noise. So
- 13:47Speaker 7: I got to have the app on my phone. Like
- 13:49Speaker 7: that needs to come with, Oh, helps you sleep. Sure.
- 13:51Speaker 6: Big time. I need that. Um, but honestly, like I, okay.
- 13:55Speaker 7: My skin gets really dry and I have found this, uh,
- 13:59Speaker 7: this like face mist that they've, From.
- 14:03Speaker 6: Swanson Vitamins, actually. They introduced me to this face spray.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Drop the link in the bio. Oh, my gosh.
- 14:11Speaker 7: It's, like, the best thing. And it comes in a
- 14:13Speaker 7: nice little travel size. And it's got, like, the aloe
- 14:17Speaker 7: and lavender smell or whatever.
- 14:19Speaker 6: Okay, legit, please send me the link to this.
- 14:21Speaker 3: It's amazing.
- 14:22Speaker 7: And I'm like, because you get so dry when you're traveling. Like,
- 14:25Speaker 7: I need this little face mist in my life.
- 14:27Speaker 6: So that's the weird thing that I have.
- 14:29Speaker 7: What about you, Gabe?
- 14:30Speaker 4: That's a good one.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Well, we do actually have Steph who sent us some
- 14:32Speaker 2: pictures at 701-280-1987. She said she brings her camera with
- 14:37Speaker 2: her everywhere she goes, which is kind of cool. I
- 14:39Speaker 2: like that.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Oh, like an actual camera versus just using the phone camera.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Not her iPhone in portrait mode.
- 14:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Oh, I like that.
- 14:46Speaker 6: Way better photos.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Yes.
- 14:49Speaker 2: The thing I bring with me ever I go, it
- 14:50Speaker 2: is kind of weird, but it's a belt. I bring
- 14:54Speaker 2: a belt no matter what. I hate when your pants
- 14:57Speaker 2: don't fit right. And I don't want to be on
- 14:59Speaker 2: vacation trying to enjoy my time constantly pulling up my
- 15:03Speaker 2: pants everywhere I go.
- 15:04Speaker 7: That's a very guy thing. Like, dude thing right there. Like,
- 15:08Speaker 7: I need my belt. Not that women don't wear belts,
- 15:10Speaker 7: but guys especially to actually keep their pants up.
- 15:13Speaker 6: So we appreciate that.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Yes, we do.
- 15:16Speaker 2: We also had... Jess, and this one I think is
- 15:18Speaker 2: pretty common, but phone, wallet, a lot of times you
- 15:21Speaker 2: got to have that to travel. But we also had
- 15:23Speaker 2: Lisa who said, morning, got to have a beverage, either
- 15:26Speaker 2: coffee or one of your Stanley cups to bring with,
- 15:30Speaker 2: which is smart. If you're doing a road trip, a
- 15:31Speaker 2: little coffee and a Stanley, off you go.
- 15:34Speaker 7: Oh, I'm bringing my water jug with me everywhere I go.
- 15:38Speaker 3: I'm staring at your water jug right now.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 15:41Speaker 3: That sounded weird.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I do love what Vicky said. She said positive vibes,
- 15:47Speaker 2: which is a great thing.
- 15:49Speaker 3: To bring everywhere you go.
- 15:51Speaker 2: I don't have any of those.
- 15:53Speaker 3: No, I do.
- 15:53Speaker 2: I do. 701-280-1987. Is there an item that you have
- 15:55Speaker 2: to bring with you anytime you travel, whether it's for
- 15:58Speaker 2: fun vacation or you're off to work? Let us know
- 16:01Speaker 2: this morning because Samara is bringing her PS5 everywhere, which
- 16:04Speaker 2: just gave Us nerds, a little bit of hope and
- 16:07Speaker 2: joy on a Tuesday. In the world of rules and
- 16:12Speaker 2: gray areas, one morning show dares to ask the hard questions.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Is it legal for a child to wear that much makeup?
- 16:19Speaker 2: Is it legal? On Big 98.7. It is October. Halloween
- 16:28Speaker 2: is right around the corner. So there's going to be
- 16:29Speaker 2: a lot of masks and wigs and fun costumes. But
- 16:33Speaker 2: I was wondering, is it legal to wear a mask
- 16:35Speaker 2: in North Dakota just because you want to?
- 16:38Speaker 3: Like not even around Halloween time.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Whenever.
- 16:41Speaker 2: It's just May.
- 16:45Speaker 6: I may kick you after I see you.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Here's the deal. North Dakota actually does have an anti-mask law.
- 16:54Speaker 2: You can't wear a mask to intimidate or harass somebody
- 16:58Speaker 2: or to hide who you are if you want to
- 17:00Speaker 2: commit a crime, okay? So if you're going to try
- 17:02Speaker 2: to commit a crime, you've got to do it full-faced. Yeah,
- 17:04Speaker 2: you've got to do it the honest way.
- 17:06Speaker 3: That's right.
- 17:07Speaker 6: Yeah, because that's what you are, honest, when you're committing
- 17:09Speaker 6: a crime.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 17:11Speaker 2: And this did get an upgrade in 2025, so just
- 17:13Speaker 2: last year. Now this covers hiding your identity while hanging
- 17:17Speaker 2: out in public with other masked people. So if you
- 17:21Speaker 2: got yourself a cult of mask wearers, you can't do that. Now,
- 17:25Speaker 2: this is, I guess, the good news if you're really
- 17:28Speaker 2: trying to dress like Scream in April, okay? That in
- 17:32Speaker 2: the excuse me, but this is the good news. There's
- 17:35Speaker 2: an exception for Halloween is what I'm trying to get
- 17:38Speaker 2: to and masquerade type gatherings. So, OK, yeah, your group
- 17:44Speaker 2: costume in the Fargo Moorhead bachelorette party is the minions.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Totally fine.
- 17:49Speaker 3: All right.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Here's where it gets fun. Could you wear a mask
- 17:53Speaker 2: to Hy-Vee on a random Tuesday? And the answer is probably.
- 17:59Speaker 2: The law is about intent. If you're just a regular
- 18:02Speaker 2: person getting a rotisserie chicken and a Diet Coke while
- 18:05Speaker 2: dressed as Ghostface, a police officer is probably going to
- 18:09Speaker 2: have a lot of questions for you, but that's illegal
- 18:13Speaker 2: is not going to be one of them.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Interesting. What if I wanted to go to the bank
- 18:18Speaker 3: wearing a mask?
- 18:19Speaker 2: And just grab some money?
- 18:20Speaker 6: Just to scare people.
- 18:21Speaker 3: But then I was like, I would like to make
- 18:23Speaker 3: a deposit.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Totally legal.
- 18:27Speaker 7: You know, okay, y'all in your masks, you wear them.
- 18:29Speaker 7: I will tell you right now, you're going to freak
- 18:31Speaker 7: me out. You're going to freak other people out. How
- 18:32Speaker 7: about you just don't? Yeah, it's all about intent.
- 18:35Speaker 1: What if I have an acne breakout and I need
- 18:38Speaker 1: the mask to look pretty, Megan?
- 18:41Speaker 2: Well, then your intent would be to look better, so
- 18:44Speaker 2: you'd be good to go.
- 18:45Speaker 6: Okay, so I'd be legally allowed.
- 18:47Speaker 4: All right.
- 18:47Speaker 6: We're skirting the edges here now.
- 18:50Speaker 2: So just be careful when you're out and about and
- 18:52Speaker 2: you're not committing committing crimes while wearing your Halloween costume.
- 18:58Speaker 6: You're just asking for trouble wearing the mask, OK?
- 19:06Speaker 2: It is Tuesday. It is the second day of the
- 19:08Speaker 2: work week. And let's talk about work for a second.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Whether you're sitting at the stoplights on 13th Avenue, you're
- 19:14Speaker 2: at your desk or I don't know, maybe you've been
- 19:16Speaker 2: there for a few hours already. You're already counting down
- 19:18Speaker 2: until lunch. I want you to think of your kid
- 19:21Speaker 2: as you're sitting at those stoplights on 13th as you're
- 19:24Speaker 2: going to work. Would you want your kid to do
- 19:28Speaker 2: the same line of work or even the same job
- 19:31Speaker 2: that you do? 701-280-1987. Would you want your kid doing
- 19:37Speaker 2: what you do or would you want them to do
- 19:38Speaker 2: quite literally anything else this morning?
- 19:41Speaker 1: That's so funny. So obviously we're in radio. And I
- 19:46Speaker 1: think that I for my kids if they wanted to
- 19:49Speaker 1: follow in those footsteps I think cool but there was
- 19:52Speaker 1: a time before this that I before radio was my
- 19:56Speaker 1: career that I was a.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Youtuber which is still bizarre to me.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Every kid wants to do that now. Okay, no, that's
- 20:04Speaker 2: all they want to do.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yes, and no, that I would not. If either of
- 20:09Speaker 1: my kids was like, I want to be a YouTuber,
- 20:12Speaker 1: I would say no, and then they'd say, but you
- 20:15Speaker 1: did it, which would be fair, because I did, and I, oh, no.
- 20:19Speaker 3: But I also.
- 20:20Speaker 6: Experienced it, so I know why you should not do it.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Exactly, I just feel like, and while it did pay
- 20:27Speaker 1: the bills, I was at the mercy of making content
- 20:30Speaker 1: that fit the algorithm, which wasn't always great stuff. Like,
- 20:35Speaker 1: I did do that cinnamon challenge, which no one should do.
- 20:38Speaker 6: Terrible idea.
- 20:40Speaker 1: No one should do that. And I did it because
- 20:42Speaker 1: that's what got me paid. I regret that. I don't
- 20:44Speaker 1: think that was smart. I have eaten... way too many
- 20:48Speaker 1: spicy things in large quantities at one time, because there
- 20:53Speaker 1: was a time when spicy food challenges was a thing
- 20:56Speaker 1: and there's permanent damage to the lining of my stomach.
- 20:59Speaker 3: I'm telling you.
- 21:00Speaker 6: That sounds terrible.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Angie just got ulcers because of YouTube.
- 21:04Speaker 1: So you never know like what YouTube's algorithm is going
- 21:07Speaker 1: to be like expecting you to do. And A lot
- 21:10Speaker 1: of times it's content that's like, oh, brother. And so, no,
- 21:14Speaker 1: I wouldn't want my kids to do that. But if
- 21:16Speaker 1: they want to be in radio, cool. They are clearly
- 21:19Speaker 1: going to be fine with being broke.
- 21:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:22Speaker 2: At the start, yeah. It is very hard at the start.
- 21:26Speaker 2: What about you, Megan?
- 21:27Speaker 6: Well, my kids, my fur babies, absolutely.
- 21:30Speaker 7: Follow my footsteps. They already got the sass. But actually,
- 21:34Speaker 7: I also used to be, I mean, I've done a
- 21:36Speaker 7: couple of other things. I was a lifeguard at one point,
- 21:38Speaker 7: and my dogs are great in water.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Megan was the Wendy Peppercorn for someone out there.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Oh, I like, yeah.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Sure.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Or you were Baywatch to someone else.
- 21:48Speaker 6: Yeah, that's true.
- 21:50Speaker 3: You're right.
- 21:50Speaker 6: What generation are we talking?
- 21:51Speaker 2: That would actually be pretty sweet, though, if your dogs
- 21:54Speaker 2: could save people's lives in a pool.
- 21:56Speaker 5: Right?
- 21:57Speaker 7: They wouldn't because they're scared of everything. They love going
- 22:00Speaker 7: near the water, but getting near another person, they'd be like, no.
- 22:04Speaker 3: The issue is the people, not the water.
- 22:07Speaker 6: Oh, no, they love the water. It's the people.
- 22:09Speaker 3: They're like, no, you're drowning.
- 22:11Speaker 6: Sorry.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Stephanie on Facebook says she's a former teacher, now a
- 22:17Speaker 2: cafe owner. She said no to teaching. Yes to owning
- 22:22Speaker 2: their own business or her own business. I'm assuming she's
- 22:24Speaker 2: talking about her daughter there. We had Kayla who said,
- 22:28Speaker 2: human services, I don't have kids, but absolutely would support
- 22:32Speaker 2: it if they wanted to do it.
- 22:33Speaker 6: There you go.
- 22:34Speaker 2: And then we have Vicky who said, sales, if it
- 22:37Speaker 2: fills their soul and pays the bill, all good.
- 22:41Speaker 6: Yeah, I like that.
- 22:42Speaker 3: I think everyone just wants their kids to be happy.
- 22:45Speaker 3: You have a daughter now, Gabe.
- 22:47Speaker 1: If she at like 16 said, you know what, dad,
- 22:52Speaker 1: I think I want to, Become a radio personality.
- 22:55Speaker 3: I want to host a radio show. What would you
- 22:58Speaker 3: say to her?
- 22:59Speaker 2: I'd say that doesn't sound like that LPGA career we
- 23:02Speaker 2: talked about. You're off to being a professional golfer. You
- 23:06Speaker 2: are quite literally my retirement plan. Because dad's going to
- 23:09Speaker 2: caddy for you. So no, I would be like, that's
- 23:13Speaker 2: a horrible idea.
- 23:14Speaker 6: We're pivoting right now. Right now.
- 23:17Speaker 2: No, if she wanted, I would... I would obviously not
- 23:19Speaker 2: tell her she can't, but I'd rather she didn't.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Who would you rather like if she said, I want
- 23:25Speaker 1: to be radio host or if it was your wife
- 23:28Speaker 1: does social services, right?
- 23:30Speaker 2: Social work.
- 23:31Speaker 6: Social work.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Which would you prefer?
- 23:33Speaker 2: Absolutely neither of them.
- 23:36Speaker 4: Neither.
- 23:36Speaker 6: So either way, she's getting golf clubs for Christmas.
- 23:39Speaker 8: Yes.
- 23:39Speaker 2: One thousand percent. I would really like her to go
- 23:42Speaker 2: on to be, like, an electrician or HVAC, one of
- 23:47Speaker 2: those careers that no one seems to want to do anymore,
- 23:50Speaker 2: and in 5 to 10 to 20 years, there's going
- 23:53Speaker 2: to be a giant surplus. Kids, if you're looking for
- 23:56Speaker 2: a career, okay, go into... Being an electrician or something
- 24:00Speaker 2: like that. Or a plumber.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Liam wants to be a garbage man.
- 24:03Speaker 2: That's his dream.
- 24:03Speaker 6: They're going to make bank here very soon.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Very soon. So there you go. Your wise words from
- 24:08Speaker 2: Uncle Gabe today on Big 98.7. But let us know,
- 24:12Speaker 2: what's your job and would you want your kid to
- 24:14Speaker 2: do it? There was something from Brian here on the
- 24:17Speaker 2: Big 98.7 Facebook page. I don't know what this job is.
- 24:19Speaker 2: He said a fluffer and no.
- 24:22Speaker 3: I can't believe you just.
- 24:23Speaker 2: What's that job? No, stop.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Yes.
- 24:33Speaker 7: Okay, you guys are going to learn real quick. I'm
- 24:35Speaker 7: a child at heart, and I love anything and everything Disney.
- 24:39Speaker 7: Everything about it.
- 24:40Speaker 3: No, I should have brought you with me on this vacation.
- 24:43Speaker 2: I'm surrounded by two of them.
- 24:45Speaker 6: I was so jealous.
- 24:46Speaker 7: I was like, oh, I've been to Disney World, haven't
- 24:47Speaker 7: been to Disneyland, but I'm bringing the Disney... To McDonald's now,
- 24:52Speaker 7: or McDonald's is bringing the Disney to us, whatever you want.
- 24:55Speaker 6: To put it.
- 24:56Speaker 7: Because did you ever get the Happy Meal Boo Buckets
- 24:59Speaker 7: when you were growing up at all?
- 25:00Speaker 3: Yes. That's like nostalgia 101.
- 25:03Speaker 2: I got to look one up. I don't know if
- 25:05Speaker 2: I remember this.
- 25:05Speaker 5: Really?
- 25:06Speaker 3: Seriously?
- 25:06Speaker 2: I'm not sure.
- 25:08Speaker 6: Okay.
- 25:08Speaker 3: The Boo Buckets were slightly younger than us.
- 25:11Speaker 6: Slightly, but still.
- 25:13Speaker 7: The Boo Buckets are awesome because normally they'd be like
- 25:16Speaker 7: maybe a ghost or a pumpkin, and you could take.
- 25:18Speaker 6: These for trick-or-treating, right?
- 25:20Speaker 3: Yes, they double.
- 25:20Speaker 6: But your Happy Meal comes in them, right?
- 25:22Speaker 2: I got one of these.
- 25:23Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:23Speaker 6: Oh, okay. Yeah, it's coming back to you now.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Well, this year.
- 25:27Speaker 7: They are coming out as of today. So I'm going
- 25:30Speaker 7: to be in line for this. They are the Disney
- 25:32Speaker 7: villains is what they're inspired by. And you just heard
- 25:36Speaker 7: Scar from The Lion King, right?
- 25:38Speaker 3: That's like the best, the best villain song is that one.
- 25:41Speaker 7: Well, and he is one of the boo buckets. Also,
- 25:45Speaker 7: you've got a white Cruella de Vil from the 101 Dalmatians.
- 25:48Speaker 4: Love it.
- 25:49Speaker 6: You've got a purple Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Yes.
- 25:53Speaker 7: The green Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. And red Jafar from Aladdin.
- 25:57Speaker 6: I know.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Oh, Jafar from Aladdin?
- 25:59Speaker 6: Yep, all of them.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Do I have to go get a boo bucket now, too?
- 26:02Speaker 6: We're all getting boo buckets. I'm getting all of them, actually.
- 26:04Speaker 3: We're going to leave work early. This is for work.
- 26:06Speaker 3: We have to get the boo buckets.
- 26:07Speaker 4: I know.
- 26:08Speaker 2: They brought out the heavy hitters. All of those are
- 26:10Speaker 2: some of the greatest Disney movies of all time. I
- 26:12Speaker 2: love these.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Well, they're coming out with, like, they're going to have
- 26:15Speaker 1: a Villains Grove is going to be at Disneyland.
- 26:19Speaker 6: Oh, my gosh.
- 26:20Speaker 5: What?
- 26:20Speaker 1: And so, yeah, so I think this is, like, the
- 26:22Speaker 1: partnership to, like, really hype that up.
- 26:24Speaker 6: Okay, this is what I'm talking about.
- 26:26Speaker 7: Something else fun around here. So my girl Addie and
- 26:30Speaker 7: her mom Marissa do Spread Your Sunshine, and they always
- 26:32Speaker 7: do the Royal Cupcake Stand.
- 26:34Speaker 6: And for years, I dressed up as... Maleficent.
- 26:38Speaker 7: And I've done the Cruella de Vil. So they have
- 26:41Speaker 7: the villains as well, along with the princesses. So these
- 26:44Speaker 7: are like near and dear to my heart in so
- 26:46Speaker 7: many ways.
- 26:46Speaker 3: I feel like I could do a good Jafar.
- 26:49Speaker 1: I feel like I have the mustache and the vibe.
- 26:55Speaker 3: I'm evil with a mustache. I should be Jafar for Halloween.
- 26:59Speaker 2: The vibe for sure, yeah.
- 27:00Speaker 6: And we're going to get you the buckets so you
- 27:02Speaker 6: can carry it around.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh. There we go.
- 27:05Speaker 2: I love it. You know what? This is great. The
- 27:07Speaker 2: kids will love it. What is going on over there?
- 27:10Speaker 2: It is going to be the longest line ever for
- 27:13Speaker 2: me trying to get boardwalk for my Monopoly pieces today.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Big 98.7. Starting off the day with something good. This
- 27:25Speaker 2: is Gabe's Good News on Big 98.7. You might want
- 27:30Speaker 2: to grab a tissue for this one. In Bertha Hewitt, Minnesota,
- 27:33Speaker 2: everybody knows this 17-year-old named Taylor Stange. He is a
- 27:37Speaker 2: huge football fan, and he lives with autism and is nonverbal.
- 27:41Speaker 2: And his friends and coaches... They have made him part
- 27:44Speaker 2: of the Bears football family since he was little. And
- 27:47Speaker 2: this is Taylor's senior year. So at the home game
- 27:51Speaker 2: against Sabika, there was a special play called where Taylor
- 27:54Speaker 2: got the ball, ran it in with an army of
- 27:57Speaker 2: supporters right beside him. And he scored and he even
- 28:00Speaker 2: spiked it like he's done it a million times in
- 28:03Speaker 2: the backyard before. And players from both Bertha Hewitt and Sabika,
- 28:07Speaker 2: they gathered around Sabika. gather around him in the end
- 28:10Speaker 2: zone to cheer and his mom lisa was there watching
- 28:12Speaker 2: it all from the stands some.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Of them have come to his birthday parties when he
- 28:16Speaker 4: was younger and and so yeah it's nice to see
- 28:19Speaker 4: them give them high fives and and the one i
- 28:21Speaker 4: know the one player they have a special handshake and
- 28:24Speaker 4: well there he is And I kind of huddled in
- 28:30Speaker 4: the end zone and they all, Bertha and Sabika players,
- 28:33Speaker 4: they all just gathered around Taylor and were cheering. So
- 28:36Speaker 4: I was kind of nice to see both sides.
- 28:38Speaker 2: And now here's another wonderful, wonderful part about this. This score,
- 28:42Speaker 2: it counts. It actually goes into the books. So if
- 28:45Speaker 2: you look up the stats. Oh, my God. it will
