- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to k p I AM six forty, the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Bill Handles show on demand on the iHeartRadio app. Here's
- 0:12Speaker 1: what happened is uh? You know between the break, I
- 0:14Speaker 1: was making my morning sandwich and the mustard jar dropped
- 0:19Speaker 1: and glasses all over the place. So I have to
- 0:22Speaker 1: pick up the glass because the dogs walk in that area.
- 0:25Speaker 2: So stupid clumsy and later yeat clumsy. Yeah, yeah, clumsy.
- 0:30Speaker 1: I mean I just that dropped and glass and mustard
- 0:34Speaker 1: all over the place. And now handle on the news,
- 0:39Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, here's Bill Handle good point.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Tomorrow is Halloween. Oh oh yeah, my pint, it's ready
- 0:54Speaker 2: in front of me. Thirty two years on this show. Wow,
- 0:58Speaker 2: and I still have route.
- 1:00Speaker 1: The mic has to be in front of my face
- 1:03Speaker 1: instead of on the other side.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Of the desk. Okay yourself too, while you're at it. Yeah,
- 1:09Speaker 2: I should do job.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Okay, tomorrow night, All hallows eve. My new neighborhood is
- 1:16Speaker 1: my first Halloween in my new neighborhood, and the the
- 1:20Speaker 1: neighbors are pretty tight, and so there's going to be
- 1:23Speaker 1: a block party that and giving out candy, which I
- 1:28Speaker 1: never do. And and you can't give out those you
- 1:34Speaker 1: can't give out bull candy anymore. You have to buy
- 1:36Speaker 1: those little candy bars. And still it's very difficult to
- 1:41Speaker 1: put razor blades in those little candy bars. It takes
- 1:44Speaker 1: a bigger candy bar to do the job. In the meantime,
- 1:49Speaker 1: I'll tell you all about that November one. How it went.
- 1:52Speaker 2: You got to get the fun sized razor blades. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:56Speaker 2: go figure because you know what you candy. You haven't
- 1:59Speaker 2: lived in a neighborhood since uh, you were in l a.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Yeah and see though, so you were you had six
- 2:07Speaker 2: houses around you. Oh yeah, no one, yeah, no one.
- 2:11Speaker 1: No one did trick or treat gets. Now, yeah, there
- 2:13Speaker 1: were three kids in the neighborhood, three little ones. And
- 2:16Speaker 1: the rest of the time the neighborhood went up to
- 2:18Speaker 1: the gate and the guard of the gate, we give
- 2:21Speaker 1: out candy.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Good leave us alone.
- 2:23Speaker 1: But uh in our neighborhood now, lots of kids in
- 2:28Speaker 1: the meantime.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Quick Hello, o Neil, Good morning to you. Good morning
- 2:32Speaker 2: Willie Wolf and.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Kno, there you are there, I am yep, and good morning,
- 2:38Speaker 1: good morning Bill, will Good morning, good morning Bill. Oh
- 2:43Speaker 1: there you go. Okay, still can't see you. You know,
- 2:46Speaker 1: I like seeing it. Because you are so attractive if
- 2:50Speaker 1: you yeah, it's yeah, my seeing I my seeing eye
- 2:54Speaker 1: dog also thinks you're attractive. Now Amy is not here.
- 3:00Speaker 1: She is up in Oregon doing whatever the hell she's doing.
- 3:04Speaker 1: And uh, Heather Brooker is here. And Heather, as much
- 3:07Speaker 1: as I like you here and I do, you're very good.
- 3:09Speaker 1: You're a real pro. I wanted Amy to be here
- 3:13Speaker 1: today so I could discuss the fact that the Toronto
- 3:18Speaker 1: Blue Jays were playing Los Angeles high school football, I
- 3:23Speaker 1: mean baseball. Uh, I actually watched the game you did.
- 3:27Speaker 1: This is a this is a World Series team, the
- 3:31Speaker 1: LA Dodgers. Now they're playing they were playing little league
- 3:34Speaker 1: level that it was just horrific, not.
- 3:38Speaker 3: A good run for them, and the last couple of
- 3:42Speaker 3: games they sucked at this rate.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Man, it is over.
- 3:47Speaker 1: God, I can't believe I'm doing sports talk sports show.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah, is that you have the.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Last time I haven't been well, I'm not this excited,
- 3:57Speaker 1: but I'm now I'm going to date myself. The last
- 4:00Speaker 1: time I was truly insanely excited about baseball and guess
- 4:07Speaker 1: how old I was. Because it was the LA Dodgers.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Sandy Kofax was pitching for them, you had who was
- 4:17Speaker 1: out there was Duke Snyder playing, I think so. And
- 4:20Speaker 1: you had Maury Wills. I mean I still remember the name.
- 4:26Speaker 1: And I remember in science class we were doing science
- 4:30Speaker 1: and a runner that worked for the administration every few
- 4:34Speaker 1: minutes would run into the room and hand the teacher
- 4:37Speaker 1: or note as to what happened in the previous few minutes.
- 4:42Speaker 1: So anyway, Sandy Kofax was there. Incidentally, did you see
- 4:44Speaker 1: those the video of him? He's eighty nine years old
- 4:48Speaker 1: and looks great for a I mean, he looks old,
- 4:52Speaker 1: but he's eighty nine.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Man.
- 4:54Speaker 1: If I look that old at eighty nine, it looked
- 4:56Speaker 1: like he was very depressed. Close I look eighty nine.
- 5:05Speaker 2: All right.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Here's the question though, right, say the Blue Jays win,
- 5:11Speaker 1: do they go to the White House?
- 5:14Speaker 2: Yeah? Why not?
- 5:14Speaker 1: Why?
- 5:15Speaker 3: I think they get invited? I don't know, surely get invited.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Now, the point is, if I were part of the
- 5:22Speaker 1: Trump administration, I would send my envoy secretly, like they
- 5:27Speaker 1: cut deals, sending envoys to China and various other countries
- 5:33Speaker 1: and sort of cut little deals. This is what we're
- 5:35Speaker 1: going to talk about. And I think that's the case. Either,
- 5:38Speaker 1: I think the secret envoy goes to the Blue Jays
- 5:41Speaker 1: and say, hey, if the President invites you, are you
- 5:45Speaker 1: guys going to come to the White House because he's
- 5:48Speaker 1: been embarrassed too many times. Yeah, with teams just going no,
- 5:52Speaker 1: thank you, not interesting.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Do they go to Buckingham Palace? They could?
- 5:58Speaker 1: They could, and then the queen would the king. At
- 6:01Speaker 1: this point we have a dead queen. The King would
- 6:03Speaker 1: go what's the baseball? And it would work out just fine.
- 6:08Speaker 2: They're gonna make him say sorry before they go sorry. A.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Did you know there's a new Strange Bruise movie that's going.
- 6:15Speaker 3: To be made?
- 6:16Speaker 2: No, yes, you can't.
- 6:18Speaker 3: The original cast is back for that movie. It's Oh
- 6:20Speaker 3: I cannot wait?
- 6:23Speaker 1: Okay Neil face. And one other thing I want to
- 6:28Speaker 1: point out before we start the news is uh Neil's
- 6:31Speaker 1: show a week from Saturday is going to be at
- 6:35Speaker 1: the Wild Fork.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Store.
- 6:39Speaker 1: It's not a restaurant, the Wild Fork Store in Laguna
- 6:41Speaker 1: and Miguel and it's gonna be fun. It's a Neil's show.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I will be with him all afternoon from two to five.
- 6:48Speaker 1: There will be tons of samples being given out, and
- 6:52Speaker 1: at these events, these are not Costco SI samples.
- 6:55Speaker 2: They give out samples. I mean you eat and their
- 6:59Speaker 2: food's terrific.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Yeah, food is absolutely wonderful. Zelman's is going to be
- 7:03Speaker 1: there and they are going to give out if they're
- 7:06Speaker 1: going to give out samples, and there's gonna be a
- 7:09Speaker 1: lot of grilling. There'll be restaurants, there will be a
- 7:11Speaker 1: lot of different Wild Fork foods.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Get does a lot of giveaways as well.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Yeah, and there'll be tons of good, serious giveaways.
- 7:21Speaker 2: It's gonna be fun. So that's gonna be our second
- 7:23Speaker 2: annual Thanks grilling event. They will be grilling outside, uh
- 7:27Speaker 2: there Laguna and Gal will be outside and it will
- 7:30Speaker 2: be uh Bill and Neil show for it.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Right, And that's a week from Saturday, the Wild Fork
- 7:36Speaker 1: Store in Laguna, ne Guel. And it's going to be
- 7:39Speaker 1: much better and bigger than last year. Even kf I
- 7:42Speaker 1: gives out swag. For example, last year we gave out
- 7:45Speaker 1: we gave out three dollars gift certificates and everybody was
- 7:48Speaker 1: really impressed.
- 7:50Speaker 2: It's uh they they were to nothing.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Yeah, three bucks.
- 7:55Speaker 2: We gave out Ann's phone number last time.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Yeah, listen, that is priceless.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Yes, I still call it, thank you, thank you, And
- 8:05Speaker 1: oh Pastathon is coming up. And wait till this thing
- 8:07Speaker 1: is done and we start talking about pasta postathon for
- 8:11Speaker 1: I think it's December second, if I'm not mistaken for Pastathon.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Yeah, Handle's actually going to give away his pasta thon. Yeah.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Absolutely. And you wait till you see some of the
- 8:22Speaker 1: auction items there. I mean, they're going to be insane. Okay,
- 8:25Speaker 1: let's do it. Enough of this chitter chatter. It is
- 8:29Speaker 1: time for Handle on the news with Heather sitting in
- 8:32Speaker 1: for Amy, Neil sitting in for Neil and me late story. Well, uh,
- 8:43Speaker 1: Trump meets with the g Ster, the the Shemeister, the
- 8:48Speaker 1: president of China, and it was a summit. It was
- 8:51Speaker 1: in South Korea, and it looks like a deal was cut.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Troofts against China were lowered, their terrorists against US were lowered,
- 9:02Speaker 1: and soybeans are now will be purchased by China from
- 9:06Speaker 1: American farmers. Rare earths will be coming to the United States,
- 9:10Speaker 1: where China had really controlled those still do.
- 9:13Speaker 2: They have ninety percent of the world market.
- 9:15Speaker 1: And of course, as always, the various countries that Trump
- 9:20Speaker 1: goes to put on a biggest show, they flatter him
- 9:23Speaker 1: like you can't believe. So he was in Malaysia, Japan,
- 9:27Speaker 1: South Korea. South Korea was a big one. The South
- 9:31Speaker 1: Korean government showered him with gifts, a golf putter, a bag,
- 9:35Speaker 1: a replica of that historical golden crown because they actually
- 9:41Speaker 1: thought he'd be wearing it in the White House. And
- 9:46Speaker 1: he got South Korea's highest civilian honor.
- 9:51Speaker 2: And I will not make that joke. Okay, moving on,
- 9:57Speaker 2: moving on. It is called okay, alright.
- 10:04Speaker 3: I wanted to let you make it, though I wanted
- 10:06Speaker 3: to give you time to make it.
- 10:08Speaker 4: I felt like if you needed to say it.
- 10:09Speaker 1: All right.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Federal interest Federal interest rates have been cut by a
- 10:14Speaker 3: quarter percentage point for the second consecutive the second time
- 10:19Speaker 3: this year. They're hoping to steady the economy after the
- 10:24Speaker 3: weakening labor market and government shutdown has been causing some
- 10:29Speaker 3: trouble over the last several months. It went from three
- 10:33Speaker 3: it's in the range now, part of me of three seven,
- 10:35Speaker 3: five to four percent.
- 10:36Speaker 4: That is the lowest level in about three years.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I watched the market, and I watch what's going
- 10:43Speaker 1: on economically pretty closely here in the United States, and
- 10:47Speaker 1: we are hitting we are hitting high after high record
- 10:50Speaker 1: highs every day. It just keeps on going up, up up.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Consumer confidence is low or going down quickly. Unemployment is
- 11:01Speaker 1: going through the roof as these companies are laying off
- 11:05Speaker 1: by the tens of thousands, and they're all lining up
- 11:07Speaker 1: to layoff. I don't get it other than these corporations,
- 11:12Speaker 1: because of the layoffs it set, are making tons of money.
- 11:15Speaker 1: And me's that's the new model. That's the new normal.
- 11:18Speaker 1: You won't work, but the company you used to work
- 11:22Speaker 1: for is making tons and tons.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Of money, saving themselves rich. Oh, yes, they are all right.
- 11:29Speaker 2: One more before we take a break. All right. We
- 11:31Speaker 2: talked about this a little bit. The Dodgers make costly
- 11:33Speaker 2: mistakes last night and they've fallen behind, losing six to
- 11:38Speaker 2: one to the Toronto Blue Jays yesterday. A lot of
- 11:42Speaker 2: this goes on the shoulders of their lead Blake Snell
- 11:48Speaker 2: on the mound for Game five.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, there was a lot of confusion there
- 11:53Speaker 1: because some of the pitchers who were throwing balls in
- 11:56Speaker 1: the stands to kids didn't realize that they were in
- 11:59Speaker 1: the middle of a game and that was a real pitch.
- 12:06Speaker 1: The Dodgers just missed it last night. It was miserable,
- 12:11Speaker 1: all right.
- 12:12Speaker 3: President Trump has ordered the Pentagon to start testing nuclear weapons.
- 12:16Speaker 3: And he's doing this because he wants to sort of
- 12:20Speaker 3: counter other countries testing programs or be at least on
- 12:23Speaker 3: par with what they're doing. I don't know why we
- 12:29Speaker 3: need to do this. This hasn't been done since nineteen
- 12:32Speaker 3: ninety two, with.
- 12:34Speaker 1: It goes way back further than that. I'm going to
- 12:37Speaker 1: tell you when I first heard of a test ban
- 12:41Speaker 1: treaty when I was in grade school, going all the
- 12:45Speaker 1: way back to nineteen sixty and JFK. And I've got
- 12:50Speaker 1: a whole segment on that coming up at seven o'clock.
- 12:52Speaker 1: And by the way, I'm going to back up Trump
- 12:54Speaker 1: on this one. I am I think he's acting appropriately.
- 12:58Speaker 1: And I don't say that too often, but I think
- 13:00Speaker 1: he is acting appropriately. And I'll explain why. All right.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Well, as we've been following and our fears with Hurricane
- 13:08Speaker 2: Melissa bringing destruction, it has done just that, leaving at
- 13:13Speaker 2: least a dozens and dozens dead, caused widespread havoc, obviously
- 13:20Speaker 2: destruction across Haiti, Cuba, Jamaica. And you've got places that
- 13:25Speaker 2: aren't you know, some of these places in Haiti and
- 13:28Speaker 2: the like and not built really well. So They're now
- 13:31Speaker 2: roofless homes, utility poles, you know, anything you can think of.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Damage wise hit the landscape and tore up this area.
- 13:42Speaker 2: On Wednesday. You even have residents evacuating still from their
- 13:47Speaker 2: homes in Cuba as Hurricane Melissa continues to do what
- 13:51Speaker 2: it does, and that is destruction throughout the Caribbean.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it's as bad as anticipated. In a couple of
- 13:57Speaker 1: stats about this hurricane, it is the worst hurricane to
- 14:01Speaker 1: ever hit Jamaica or in that area. Category five wins
- 14:06Speaker 1: up to one hundred and eighty five miles per hour.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I've never heard of that. And the reason I and
- 14:12Speaker 1: you have never heard of that is that it is
- 14:14Speaker 1: the third worst storm in recorded history as long as
- 14:20Speaker 1: they have been looking at hurricanes. This is number three,
- 14:24Speaker 1: and I think I may have very very well tied
- 14:26Speaker 1: for number two.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Wait have you been to Jamaica? I have what's it?
- 14:31Speaker 2: What's it like? I mean, I really don't have any idea.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Is there poor areas?
- 14:37Speaker 1: And yeah, oh yeah, poor rich I mean there's there's
- 14:39Speaker 1: a lot of cannabis, man ame on in wonders, a
- 14:44Speaker 1: lot of That's.
- 14:45Speaker 2: A pretty good Jamaican action.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Yeah, not bad, not bad, not bad, and then and
- 14:49Speaker 1: then the music is wonderful. It's terrific, and the food
- 14:53Speaker 1: is wonderful. It's a neat place, it is, except there's
- 14:58Speaker 1: a lot of poor people. So I like going to
- 15:01Speaker 1: places where the population is really poor because it makes
- 15:04Speaker 1: me feel richer. That's why I hang out with poor people,
- 15:07Speaker 1: because I just feel better about myself. I just seem
- 15:10Speaker 1: to feel better.
- 15:12Speaker 3: And we love hanging out with you. Yeah, all right.
- 15:17Speaker 4: This is wild story.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Twenty one monkeys were involved in a truck crash. Truck
- 15:23Speaker 3: that was transporting them from Tulane University in New Orleans crashed.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Twenty one monkeys I guess escaped. Five of them are dead,
- 15:32Speaker 3: three are still missing, and then they recaptured the rest
- 15:36Speaker 3: of them.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and there's a whole story here. I'm going to
- 15:41Speaker 1: talk about that at seven twenty after the Donald Trump segment.
- 15:45Speaker 1: And there is more than just twenty one monkeys have escaped.
- 15:50Speaker 2: I mean, there is a.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Story of orre they infected, being used for testing research?
- 15:58Speaker 1: Are they being used? Are they putting with sex workers?
- 16:02Speaker 1: Are are they involved with.
- 16:04Speaker 2: All of this? Wait? Wait, wait what I heard about
- 16:07Speaker 2: the other part?
- 16:07Speaker 1: But yeah, well they're very here's the problem they're very small,
- 16:11Speaker 1: and the it's just difficult, you know what I mean.
- 16:15Speaker 2: I think you're just in a direction I don't think
- 16:18Speaker 2: is no, because I mean people do that, but they
- 16:21Speaker 2: have to.
- 16:21Speaker 1: They have to wrap duct tape around them because they
- 16:24Speaker 1: tend to explode. Okay, that's that's okay, that's a visual.
- 16:28Speaker 1: That's a visual that we will.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Don't make me do the news after. We gotta have
- 16:33Speaker 3: some kind of buffer story.
- 16:35Speaker 2: And now Heatherucker sliding into the news.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Oh my lord.
- 16:43Speaker 2: All right, Robert F. Kennedy, Junior head of the Health
- 16:47Speaker 2: and Human Services Department, says, NA don't know what I'm
- 16:52Speaker 2: talking about. Bye, well, not word for word, but he
- 16:58Speaker 2: he says that tylan be used with caution during pregnancy,
- 17:02Speaker 2: but you know, like science and solid data linking it
- 17:06Speaker 2: to autism is what he said, was lacking, as in
- 17:11Speaker 2: not there at all and no backup. It's just causality
- 17:17Speaker 2: or bad logic. So yeah, he just comes up with stuff.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I mean, he created one of the largest anti vaccine
- 17:26Speaker 1: organizations that are out there. That was his baby, and
- 17:31Speaker 1: it's you know, I wonder obviously for political purposes when
- 17:36Speaker 1: Trump tags these people for major, major cabinet.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Positions, well, this one, this one, as crazy as it is,
- 17:44Speaker 2: did make sense because he was running as well and
- 17:47Speaker 2: had a no understand that. No, let me tell you
- 17:51Speaker 2: where I'm going with that. I agree with you.
- 17:53Speaker 1: It's a given that Trump rewards his loyalists, and it
- 17:57Speaker 1: doesn't matter what position, he just reward loyalists. My question
- 18:02Speaker 1: is does he actually buy into that stuff or is
- 18:06Speaker 1: it simply political expediency? And boy, if you like me,
- 18:10Speaker 1: I like you, you go ahead and murder a kindergarten class.
- 18:14Speaker 1: As long as you support me, you're getting the pardon.
- 18:17Speaker 1: I love you?
- 18:18Speaker 2: Uh? Is it limited to that? Are you asking us
- 18:23Speaker 2: to get in the mind of Trump? At?
- 18:26Speaker 3: No?
- 18:26Speaker 1: I think it's you know what, I think it's fairly
- 18:28Speaker 1: I think it's fairly easy to get in the mind
- 18:29Speaker 1: of Trump.
- 18:30Speaker 2: It's not that it's not that complicated.
- 18:32Speaker 4: I mean, he's pretty clear. He usually says what he means.
- 18:34Speaker 1: And yeah, you know you like me, you give me
- 18:37Speaker 1: and you give me accolades.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Uh, And I like you, you don't, I'm coming after you, yeah,
- 18:43Speaker 3: big time.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Yeah. You know that's funny because you hear the promo
- 18:47Speaker 2: for co Belt when he was on Yeah, it's kind
- 18:50Speaker 2: of the same thing. John, I've heard a lot of
- 18:52Speaker 2: beat I couldn't have I couldn't have had a better
- 18:55Speaker 2: This is the best. Yeah, this is like you're the best.
- 19:00Speaker 2: This is the best phone call I've ever had.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Well, John, I think is the only trump Ist on
- 19:04Speaker 1: the station. If I'm not mistaken, I mean I'm certainly not.
- 19:07Speaker 1: You know that, And not only the other hosts are either,
- 19:10Speaker 1: or if they are, they keep it very quiet to themselves.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Ding dong, ding dong.
- 19:15Speaker 3: All right, moving on, moving on, shall we? So we
- 19:20Speaker 3: just keep going back and forth with Canada here. So
- 19:23Speaker 3: the Senate voted yesterday to end the national emergency. The
- 19:28Speaker 3: President Trump declared to impose tariffs on imports from Canada,
- 19:32Speaker 3: and of course he did that in response to an ad.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Do you remember this ad from I think it's been
- 19:37Speaker 3: a week or two now.
- 19:38Speaker 1: From the Province of Ontario, Yes, not the Government of Canada.
- 19:44Speaker 1: And it's an it's a it's a it's as you know.
- 19:47Speaker 1: The ad simply has Ronald Reagan talking about how horrible
- 19:51Speaker 1: terror rasar. This is going back to the eighties when
- 19:54Speaker 1: he was president, and it was edited, but the basic
- 19:57Speaker 1: premise didn't Change's Ronald Reagan was against tariff and here
- 20:01Speaker 1: here's my point. You run an ad against me, I
- 20:05Speaker 1: punish the entire.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Country, the entire country, that's right. So he added the
- 20:10Speaker 3: ten percent tariffs, and so they've been going back and
- 20:14Speaker 3: forth on these tariffs, and the Senate voted, well, it's
- 20:18Speaker 3: a bipartisan vote against those tariffs.
- 20:21Speaker 1: So yeah, it doesn't matter because the House is going
- 20:23Speaker 1: to back up Trump.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it's whatever Trump wants Trump gets.
- 20:28Speaker 2: That's a song. The black market for maple syrup right
- 20:33Speaker 2: now is through the roof.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Hello, Hello, I know are you making that up? Or
- 20:39Speaker 1: is that true? No, I'm making it up, Okay, because
- 20:43Speaker 1: I tell you it's completely plausible.
- 20:45Speaker 2: No, we get a lot of We get a lot
- 20:46Speaker 2: of lumber from there. I think it's one of the
- 20:49Speaker 2: main things we get from Canada. And comedians.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I'm going to a lot of comedians.
- 20:53Speaker 3: I'm going to the East Coast in a couple of weeks,
- 20:56Speaker 3: you guys. So I'll bring back some maple syrup for everybody,
- 20:58Speaker 3: but only if it's cheap.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Okay, there's just a thing anymore as cheap.
- 21:03Speaker 1: I buy maple syrp a costco Compared to a couple
- 21:06Speaker 1: of three years ago, it was crazy. Oh, and I
- 21:09Speaker 1: just bought some meat. I just bought some meat at Costco.
- 21:14Speaker 1: It is five dollars more a pound than it was
- 21:18Speaker 1: two weeks ago.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Five dollars more.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Yep, So what's it like eleven.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Und No, No, I ended up.
- 21:24Speaker 1: This is for really special occasions, like when I want
- 21:28Speaker 1: to eat meat, I buy the the prime, the prime
- 21:32Speaker 1: beef which I barbecue. I use prime beef meat. It
- 21:36Speaker 1: is Oh yeah, it's expensive stuff.
- 21:38Speaker 2: We want to go back. When you eat prime beef.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Is it's a meat that you get at steakhouses when
- 21:46Speaker 1: you have a sixty dollars steak or a sixty five
- 21:49Speaker 1: dollars steak.
- 21:49Speaker 2: That's the quality.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Oh I don't I just look I just look at
- 21:54Speaker 1: I just look at them. Okay, I just look at
- 21:56Speaker 1: the menus outside those restaurants. I think I go in
- 21:58Speaker 1: with spend that much money for a steak, You're out
- 22:00Speaker 1: of your mind.
- 22:01Speaker 3: All right, rich people, some of us can barely afford
- 22:04Speaker 3: a Wendy's hamburger.
- 22:05Speaker 2: That's how I'll tell you. You get the Delmonico and
- 22:08Speaker 2: you have five people share it with you.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Yeah, true, But how much does that baby cost?
- 22:13Speaker 2: That is descos probably eighty five plus?
- 22:16Speaker 3: Okay, wow, yeah, all right, well thanks for calling me
- 22:19Speaker 3: poor everybody.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Now I'm hungry, all right, another reason to tax us.
- 22:25Speaker 2: But thankfully it fell through Anaheim City Council. They opted
- 22:29Speaker 2: not to advance this particular proposed tourism tax ballot measure.
- 22:35Speaker 2: So this would have imposed a three percent tax on
- 22:39Speaker 2: admission tickets and ten percent tax on larger parking areas
- 22:44Speaker 2: in the city. And by larger they say any parking structure.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Other areas that are fifteen hundred spaces or more would
- 22:52Speaker 2: have been subject to that ten percent city tax. But
- 22:56Speaker 2: the fear here was with the city council, and the
- 22:58Speaker 2: reason why they were concarned is because it's creating just
- 23:02Speaker 2: an over reliance on visitor revenue. You've got Anaheim, you
- 23:07Speaker 2: know it already accounts for more than sixty percent of
- 23:09Speaker 2: Anaheim's funding for police, by our libraries, parked, all these
- 23:13Speaker 2: things based on tourism. Yeah, but that's the city.
- 23:16Speaker 1: After city that has major tourism issues and have a
- 23:23Speaker 1: tourists come New York. The city tax is ridiculous in
- 23:28Speaker 1: New York, and that funds so much of a New
- 23:31Speaker 1: York's budget. And one of the problems in this bill
- 23:34Speaker 1: was another name for the bill is we're excluding the
- 23:37Speaker 1: Honda Center from taxation bill. And people got a little
- 23:41Speaker 1: upset about that, that that was the exemption and oh,
- 23:45Speaker 1: it's only because of the size of the parking structure
- 23:49Speaker 1: or how many politics and park team. I think it's
- 23:51Speaker 1: eighteen to nineteen thousand people. But there's still a major venue.
- 23:56Speaker 1: That's still a major venue. Why would you draft your
- 23:58Speaker 1: bill that excludes this is the Honda Center. Maybe there
- 24:02Speaker 1: are some hockey fans in the city council that do
- 24:05Speaker 1: not want to honta a charge parking right sane anywhere.
- 24:09Speaker 4: This is what's happening out in Let's see Riverside County.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Eighteen rabbid bats have been reported out there, fifteen confirmed
- 24:19Speaker 3: cases from the public health lab. We're in twenty twenty four,
- 24:23Speaker 3: so that's an increase this year. What's going on out
- 24:26Speaker 3: there with all the rabbid bats in Riverside County?
- 24:30Speaker 2: Who the hells it's.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Riverside County, Kno, why bats? And why are they have.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Rabies Riverside County? Then say Riverside They said the county
- 24:39Speaker 2: is very wide, vast.
- 24:42Speaker 1: All right, fair enough and does have rabbit bats.
- 24:47Speaker 2: No, I don't know what city. This is in guys.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Bats fly around everywhere.
- 24:51Speaker 4: It's all the whole county.
- 24:53Speaker 1: If you can bit by a squirrel or in this
- 24:56Speaker 1: case of bat or a mouse a rat, you obviously
- 25:00Speaker 1: have to go in and prophylactically get Raby's treatment. Because
- 25:04Speaker 1: one symptoms hit you, it's over. You're gonna die. And
- 25:08Speaker 1: it is not a fun death either. It is a
- 25:10Speaker 1: pretty painful death and it's easy to deal with. I mean, beforehand,
- 25:15Speaker 1: you just go in there and you you get the
- 25:17Speaker 1: rabies treatment. I think it's three I used to be uh,
- 25:22Speaker 1: and I'll get an email from some doctor hopefully three
- 25:25Speaker 1: shots in your stomach area and that's uh.
- 25:28Speaker 2: I used to tell you as a kid. It was
- 25:29Speaker 2: like a ten inch needle that they put in. Yeah. Man,
- 25:32Speaker 2: but you really needed it.
- 25:33Speaker 1: I mean yeah, if you think if you're near a
- 25:36Speaker 1: bat and fly around and you think it can get
- 25:38Speaker 1: near you, you go for it.
- 25:40Speaker 3: This says that you should just wash it with soap
- 25:42Speaker 3: and water, not the bad no, no no, if you've
- 25:45Speaker 3: been bit but that's crazy, Like I got bit by
- 25:49Speaker 3: a bat, I'm just gonna wash it with a little sigh.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Yeah, they don't say to follow up with your doctor.
- 25:53Speaker 4: It says that next, but it says wash it with
- 25:55Speaker 4: soap and water first.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, anytime you get bit, that's what I do. Yeah,
- 26:00Speaker 2: I tell my wife no, no, right, nobody, All right,
- 26:03Speaker 2: So kel Ice raids. You got ten people arrested for
- 26:07Speaker 2: allegedly interfering in the immigration enforcement. You know, stand down,
- 26:11Speaker 2: you're not gonna win anything. Do it at the ballot box.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Party people the civil disorder against law enforcement officers or
- 26:20Speaker 2: what they're charged with, including some violence as well.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Throwing rocks and agents.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Of course, you can just say it's like, it's not
- 26:28Speaker 2: helping and it's not going to make the situation any better.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Nobody wants to see what, you know, people being torn,
- 26:35Speaker 2: families torn apart or anything.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Not only is it not going to make it better.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Look at the visuals. The argument is that Southern California
- 26:43Speaker 1: is out of control.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I look at this and it just helps. It's a
- 26:48Speaker 2: open rebellion.
- 26:48Speaker 1: And here you have a video of someone throwing a
- 26:51Speaker 1: rock at a cop. And then those that are pro
- 26:55Speaker 1: immigration control, anti immigration folks can say, this is what's
- 26:58Speaker 1: happening all over southern Calior. You're hurting, you're hurting your
- 27:02Speaker 1: own cause. As Neil just said, all.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Right, this is kind of a crazy story. United Airlines
- 27:09Speaker 3: turned a flight around because somebody's computer, their laptop fell
- 27:15Speaker 3: fell behind a cabin wall panel, like a small gap
- 27:19Speaker 3: in the cargo hold, and they couldn't get it out,
- 27:22Speaker 3: and so the pilot says, they were worried about what
- 27:25Speaker 3: might be in it, and you know, if we can't
- 27:26Speaker 3: access it, we can't see it. So they turned the
- 27:29Speaker 3: plane around.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Yeah, but it makes sense. It wasn't that he thought
- 27:32Speaker 1: it was a bomb. It was it was it fell
- 27:36Speaker 1: at a certain place that there wasn't any fire suppression
- 27:39Speaker 1: units anywhere near there. And you go, and it's a
- 27:41Speaker 1: lithium battery that's in these things, and he said, and
- 27:44Speaker 1: we know that those things ignite. So the pilot turns around.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I've been on all of us have been on airplanes.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Where in the cabin can you put a computer that
- 27:54Speaker 1: it slips into the cargo hold?
- 27:56Speaker 2: That's what I was just thinking.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I've heard there's some some times between
- 28:01Speaker 3: your seat and the window there might be some little
- 28:04Speaker 3: space there.
- 28:05Speaker 4: On the floor.
- 28:06Speaker 2: I've never seen it.
- 28:07Speaker 3: I haven't seen it either, but I have heard other
- 28:09Speaker 3: reports of that happening there. I have no idea how
- 28:12Speaker 3: this would even happen. That's wild.
- 28:15Speaker 1: But the pilot and he said, it's not an emergency.
- 28:18Speaker 1: This is what happens. So he lands and they check
- 28:20Speaker 1: it out and there it is. And I assume that
- 28:22Speaker 1: people will go back onto the airplane and you know,
- 28:26Speaker 1: they're all delayed. And the rest of the story, of course,
- 28:29Speaker 1: is they beat the passenger senseless because of so many defense,
- 28:35Speaker 1: so many delays. I certainly would Okay, okay, we're done, guys.
