- Casey: Hey everyone, welcome back to the Mention It All Again podcast. I'm your host for the day, not co-host. If you're watching, you're seeing that, if you're listening. It's just me, Kasey, here today. Our dearest Blake is moving into a new apartment and is super busy. So we're taking podcasting off his plate for the weekend so we can pack his shit and move. So that's exciting for the Blakester. So it's just me today. And it's kind of an Easter egg after last episode when Blake... Accidentally cut the feeds in the last couple minutes and it was just me here with y'all. So if you enjoyed that Yay, it's just me if you didn't well It's just me so Deal with it and today we are still in the ATL We are still talking about debuts. We're still talking about newbies. But more so on the flip side of Kenya and Portia, because they are the shining example. They are Housewives royalty. They are some of the best newbie performances. I mean, let's just say the best newbie performances we have ever seen in Housewives. are top one and two and not three. So on the flip side of that, which Atlanta is so good at having some of these new people come in and just absolutely kill it. They also are notorious for their flops, their flop housewives. Every franchise has them. We respect them, we love them. Sometimes we even champion them if they're a flop in a funny way. But Atlanta has four. ⁓ one season wonder housewives, meaning that they did one season and then they were not to be seen on Bravo again. Well, you know, maybe as a guest or something, but never as an official housewife. And this is a theme for us lately at the Mia, mention it all again, pod that we need to take accountability or I need to take accountability. And I love taking accountability. And so does Blake. And he would say that if he was here. But I need to take accountability because I'm my graphics that I make to update y'all and say like, ⁓ this is what's coming for the one season wonder announcement. ⁓ my gosh, I always start crying when I'm talking emphatically. So if you're watching me cry angle on the live, don't be alarmed. But yes, four one season wonders. And honestly, what you may be thinking is like, no, Atlanta has way more one season Wonder Housewives than just four. And I thought the same. Because there are so many friends of that like come and go on some of the seasons that I'm gonna be discussing today You know there are friends of like Demetria or Tammy ⁓ or Tanya who are around and almost like kind of live in the consciousness as a as like a one season housewife because they're there and then they're kind of gone, but they're not so to take accountability I remember what I was talking about now On the socials graphic that I posted to let y'all know what was upcoming, I put a pic. of Lisa Wu with Deshawn Snow for the one season wonders. And Lisa is not a one season housewife. Lisa is a two season housewife and then she comes back as a friend of. So I'm sorry to Lisa. I'm sorry to the viewers for the lack of fact checking on that. Thought I was correct. I went on Reddit and I read some things, but whoever's Reddit I was on. Let me not blame them. It's on me. So I'll take accountability there. Sorry, y'all. But our four, our four one season Wonder Housewives are Deshawn Snow, Claudia Jordan, Kim Fields, and Shamari Devo. So we got Deshawn in season one, Claudia season seven, Kim season eight, and Shamari season 11, which is when the cast is kind of not in flux per se, because we still have so many anchors that are there every year, but. OGs are kind of coming and going like Kim Fields is there ⁓ with No, she kind of has all the OGs she has Nini and Portia and Kenya, you know, ⁓ geez, they feel like ⁓ Claudia, like Claudia has no charade around like that. So there's always somebody kind of coming and going. And honestly, we're going to do this, not chronologically. We're going to talk my ranking. And I didn't even consult with Blake on this because he's not here. So I don't even know if we would have agreed, but we're going to just go my world today. So my ranking of these four women will kind of do it ghost style. Number one out of the four one season wonders in Atlanta. It's obvious. you gotta give it to Claudia Jordan. She is leagues better than these other one season wonders. Honestly, she easily could have had a second season or... third or a fourth, I don't know. But definitely a second and I wonder, I should have probably looked this up beforehand, but she might have even declined a second season or they didn't offer it to her. I don't think she like had to have one. She definitely could have had a second season. So we'll start with Claudia. We'll start with season seven. And when I go through these and watch, I'm really just looking for these newbies. So I'm not totally focusing on everything else, but there are some events that are just too good to pass up. So Claudia, do a little lippy while I tell you all this. Okay, Lippi reapplied. Claudia just moved to Atlanta at the start of the season. She is introduced by Kenya. And if you've been listening to an episode or a couple episodes, you'll know, or you maybe you'll know that I am personally fascinated by like the art of the introduction of the new housewife or the friend of, because it's always posed. It's always a little forced, but it does tell you at least who they're. most active connection is to the people on the cast. And it's kind of funny to like watch them posture and pretend like they didn't know this was a new housewife coming to the show. Like, that's why you're meeting up, not for any other BS reason. And if it's a woman who like doesn't have any friendships on the cast, they like really just make something up. But for Claudia, she's introduced by Kenya. They are longtime friends, they say. They say 10 plus years they've known each other. Claudia is coming back to co-host a morning show. a radio show, which Nini will give her shade on throughout. But she's back and she's ready to make her impact. So let's take a look at her tagline and see what that says about Miss Claudia. Okay, so beautiful, yes, she nailed that. She is beautiful. She looks pushed, she looks kind of the whole season, but here to stay? Not quite. So that's kind of a funny tagline for a one season wonder because like, aw, not quite, but she could have been. Like in theory, she's the least embarrassing one of the four to have this because she had the best performance. But we get a little intro of her at home, you know, as they do like, I'm Claudia Jordan and this is my digs and my life. And Claudia is single. Claudia is kind of in a similar phase of life to Kenya, seems, which might be why they're friends. ⁓ She introduces herself as someone who's been a part of the television world for a long time. She says she has been on Celebrity Apprentice, The Price is Right, Deal or No Deal. She was also involved in Miss USA. So another connection to Kenya, not Miss America. So there you go. That's kind of her background. in her little monologue about herself, she self-describes as a lovable asshole and an alpha female. Don't love alpha female. Like, I like the concept, but the phrasing of it just makes me feel a little like, ugh, like, okay, calm down. But, hell yeah, like, own your decisions, your life. That, hell yeah. Claudia's kind of initial strategy for a storyline for getting in the mix is that she works at this radio station and at the same time, Portia is also involved at the same radio station. She's doing like a show with Dish Network, I believe. And Claudia says that she's seen her around and they like said hi and had a little brief kiki when she first gets introduced. Fast forward a couple EPs and Claudia is meeting Cynthia with Kenya and she's telling them like, ⁓ actually, ever since I've been stepping out with Kenya more, Portia isn't saying hi to me at work. The first day we hugged, the second day she waved, the third day, nothing. ⁓ Which I feel like right away I see this as like, is it really that big of a deal or are you just using this as kind of your foray? that a word? using that as kind of your segue into the group of like, let me get a little drama. Let me kind of go after Portia because she's not good with Kenya or Cynthia at this time. So that allies her with that side of that team. And the ladies are like, why don't you just talk to her about it? Like, and took Kenya's credit. She's like, I mean, just give it a try. Like, see if you can work it out. She doesn't say like, go light her up. She's a nut. She says, I mean, I doubt that it'll work because Portia doesn't have a lot of sense, but she says, go talk to her. So pretty early on, sets up this one-on-one with Porsche. And they go, they go to lunch, they go to a little luncheon, you know, the classic, like, let's meet up and chat. And Claudia pretty quickly is like, I just want to clear the air. Like, I just want to get this out in front. Brings up the alleged ignoring at work. And Portia is finding this a little odd. Like, she's denying it. She's like, girl, like. I am just at work, like if I ignore you it's really nothing personal, like I'm just running around. Like I really wouldn't think anything of it. And her confessional is in her like private moment, she's a little bit like, what? What is going on right now? Like I barely even know you. Why am I being held on trial for not giving the appropriate hello to you? And I agree. And Claudia's like, come on, we need to fix this right now. We're grown adult women, we need to fix this. On one hand, sure, like yeah, get out in front, you're on a show together. address the drama, love it as a newbie strategy. On the other hand, it's a little too early for this. You don't know each other. You can't, you don't have a leg to stand on in this fight, in this argument to be like, ignored me because so what? Like I would have probably ignored you if you were at my work too. Like some mornings you just wake up and you don't want to fricking talk to anybody. Nothing important comes of this. Portia's kind of like, okay girl, like whatever, we're fine. Bah. And that's Claudia's first little dip into the group dynamics and the group drama. But really what we need to discuss for her, the bulk of the iconicness comes from the group trip that they take to Puerto Rico or otherwise known as Puerto Read Co. because of the battle that we get into. And the reason that they're going is, like I said, like the random friends of that we get in Atlanta, one of them being Demetria, who is a singer that is like sort of working with Candy, is sort of friends with NeNe. She has a meeting with NeNe and Phaedra, the one where Phaedra's like, have you ever done crack though? That's Demetria. And she invites all the women to Puerto Rico to come see her sing, which again, like. Why is there a cast trip for someone that's not on the cast? Who knows? They probably should just made her a cast member. But she's not, so we're not talking about her. They go, and one of the main conflicts they have is at dinner. ⁓ Because, well, I guess I'll first say the alliance is. Right now, the teams are Nini, Phaedra, Portia, strong. The strong three of them versus the Kenya, Cynthia, now Claudia team. And I would say Candy falls a little bit more neutral. Demetria isn't on a team, but she's getting it from the Nini side, the Nini, Portia, Phaedra side. Phaedra's been throwing her shade already. Nini kinda jumps on a little bit with Candy, let's go find a studio and drop some beats. that's about Demetria. And it's actually that line specifically that kind of activates Claudia. Like Claudia hears this and she has a confessional and she's like, what assholes? Like what huge assholes? Like you don't get to like make fun of this girl. She invited us all here to sing, to watch her sing. Like why are you like trashing her achievements? Which is a theme. Like don't be putting other women down that Claudia likes to kind of keep as her ⁓ foundational argument, which she's right. Like it is definitely rude. It's definitely cutting her down, but it's funny. Like it's funny for us. So I'm not mad about it. So I can't really side with her because it's funny. And NeNe Leakes and Phaedra Parks and Portia are so funny. And I have a bias towards them because I love silly, funny women that make good TV. and they are that for me. I adore the three of them. Anyways, I think it's funny. It's definitely rude, but it's funny. ⁓ And Claudia starts to speak up a little bit, and it basically becomes a her and Nini situation, ⁓ which is funny, because they didn't really have any reason to be fighting. ⁓ And Claudia chooses this to jump in on, again, probably strategically of I think right now I'm watching some OGs be objectively wrong and no one's saying anything, so I can at least have the moral high ground if I come up against them, even if I lose, and then I kind of get the chops for going up against the big dogs. And she goes up against the big dogs well. Honestly, let's just all watch. This is going to be sort of a longer clip, but it's just so good. So let's watch this clip. Nae Nae is who she ushers and it kind of cuts off. I never know if it's gonna go through the full. But she ushers in Nae Nae who comes in to read Claudia. ⁓ And that is like kind of like the big bulk of it. I have a couple more First of all, you gotta give it to Claudia. Claudia, whatever I just said, you gotta give it to Claudia. She's brave for speaking up. ⁓ know, ⁓ NeNe ⁓ is... ⁓ Nini is Nini. She's the OG. She's the best housewife of all time, arguably. Definitely up there in that one, two, three conversation spot. Even if you don't want to give it to her, you've got to get her up there. And she's everything. Everybody loves Nini. She's hilarious. She is hard to go up against because even when she's being rude, people stand with her because she's funny. So good for Claudia. I mean, it's a bold play. And it pays off. ⁓ But Nini starts kind of going back at her, throwing shade at her being on the radio. Phaedra's laughing, Portia's laughing. Claudia hits Nini back with, weren't you a stripper? Like, weren't you stripping around the nation? Which Nini says yes, and everybody already knows that, which is true. We already know that. So that wasn't amazing and kind of starts, or I guess doesn't start. But we get into big time slut shaming territory here. To quote Meredith Marks, the slut shaming made me very upset, or whatever she says during Britney and the high body count here. I don't like slut shaming. OK, I don't know why I just made her British, but who does? It's not honestly the best thing to happen. But Nini says, yeah, we already know that about me. And that's when we kind of started getting into what was in the clip, like Candy saying that Claudia was reading Nini, like hooked on phonics as an iconic line. ⁓ I mean, phonics, who even thinks about that past like the age of. I guess she has children is probably why she has phonics on the brain, because that word is not in my repertoire. ⁓ I would not have pulled that one out. But Candy says that Claudia is like, when you were my age, you still had edges. And she's making fun of Nini's wig at the time, which is like, she looks good. I mean, I think Nini always looks good, even when she looks a little a little bit a mess. But she has like this yellowish. white, it is like yellow, it is like ramen noodle coloring and kind of like that crunchy shape. But it still looks good. Claudia's hair also looks a mess, so to be going after Nini's hair is bold. ⁓ But yeah, the uncooked ramen noodles was pretty good. And that, that's sending us into can't buy a new pussy. It was crazy. And it only gets more and more aggressive. Like, Nini, like, like Portia said, Nene is out. Like, her alter ego is very much there. ⁓ Here's another iconic line from Nini going a bit too far in this one. ⁓ So to me continued is really good after that too, but Yokelin has left your body. ⁓ Yeah, what more is there to say of that? ⁓ And so that's a really good one. And one last little clippage of this scene, because I love Nini talking about Claudia's hair, which again, smart. She's going after Nini's hair. You got to go after the material that's right in front of you. And Claudia's hair looks a mess. With your mom and Portia's cracking up and then she goes better than a hair hat. Like, this is not real. And it's such a good scene. Like, it's so funny. Every line going back and forth is a verbal ping pong. Like, you're like, her edges, like her hair, ramen noodles, stripping, clit, fucking everybody in Hollywood, allegedly. ⁓ It's fantastic. It's perfect Housewives. It's perfect. verbal sparring, there are so many insults going back and forth. I think it's Porsche. was like, I've never heard that many insults in one sitting in my life. And yeah, like literally, yeah. But Claudia is a really good addition to the like Cynthia Kenya team of it all because they kind of needed somebody to go against the Nini Phaedra Porsche. Cause at this point, Candy is neutral. Like she kind of decides what side she wants to be on. based on what's going better at the time, or just what she agrees on. She kind of always just takes her principled stance. that's why I think Claudia works so well is that she is. ⁓ needed in this like current environment, even if it is just for a season, she balances out the scales and makes it a little bit more of an interesting fight, especially because Cynthia doesn't get like too too activated. She does more in these seasons than she does in earlier ones, but it's needed. Another Claudia moment that we'll get into is still Puerto Rico. They are going to Demetrius show on a Sprinter van, which, you know, we all know and love. And Claudia kind of re-brings up everything and she starts going up to Nene. up to, they're seated, but going after Nini and it's like, you really upset me not only because you were calling me a whore, but you really like diminished my accomplishments and as like black women, we should totally be lifting each other up fair. And Nini says, to Nini's credit, and everyone's shocked, Cynthia's like, if you're going to get an apology from Nini, like that's rare, so just be grateful. And Nini says, yeah, I didn't mean to take any of your accomplishments from you. That's not something that I'm in the business of doing to black women, so I apologize. And Claudia's still mad. Like, this isn't a good enough apology for her. I mean, she starts wanting, like, specifically for being called a whore, which then NeNe apologizes again, which is also, you know, it's rare not to, like, give somebody props for doing basic human things, but it's a big deal. She's still not really happy with these apologies, but everyone's kind of like, girl, take it. Like, this is NeNe. Like, it's not going to get much better than this. ⁓ So she kind of hears that and switches lanes. Because I think Portia is like, come on, Claudia. Like, she's apologized. Let's move on. And she hears this and lasers in on Portia and brings up like, why are you talking to me? Because your car is paid for by a married African dude. And everyone's like, whoa! And Portia starts threatening a lawsuit. She's like, this is slander. Claudia's like, you can't afford a lawsuit, baby girl. Portia's like, yes, I can. I have a hair company. Claudia says, everybody has a hair company. But then, big Portia dub, I will give Portia ⁓ immense credit for this because she's not always so snappy. God love her. But she says, wait a minute. Are you diminishing my hair company like how you just got on NeNe for diminishing the accomplishments of black women? Boom. Nothing more to say on that. She's right. Like, hypocritical. not like the best. Like she didn't land the plane. No, it didn't crash. Shouldn't land the plane perfectly. Like, she didn't get a round of applause from the audience, the audience, the passengers, which I don't even like when that happens anyways. But she didn't get it from the from the easy to please air travel passengers, which says a lot. Reunion comes and goes. She doesn't really have a huge. Impact there, she looks good. She's almost kind of wearing the same bob again, which like, ⁓ but. only real thing that's important about her at the reunion that they get into is the Puerto Rico of it all. ⁓ that's iconic. Like, you can't take that away from her. And that's all you really need for a first season. It should have definitely secured her a second. It doesn't for whatever reason, but she made her impact. So that alone puts Claudia Jordan at number one. And Nini, even herself, like post-filming and like years later, I think, says like, Claudia. held her own against me and like not many newbies did that and not many people did that. So Nini says she should have definitely had more seasons and she was like enjoying the sparring ability. So that's a voucher from the queen herself, which I feel like is about as good as you can get, especially when she went up against her. She had every right to be like, I hate her and I ended her, which I do still think Nini ended her, but she did a good job. It wasn't like a demolishing. Anyways, my number two spot on this list of four, which I think some might be like, wait, no, but hear me out, is Kim Fields. And Kim Fields is in season eight, so right after Claudia. She's the next newbie in line. And Kim is a celebrated, decorated actress. She has been around Hollywood, believe has been on sitcoms and other shows. ⁓ Big name, like well known. So this is ⁓ probably a good pull for Atlanta, status wise. I think they try this angle of like, we need the people who are the most well known names or have the biggest connections, which is a good way to go about casting, but sometimes it gets personalities that are a little bit of a dud, which I actually think applies to both Kim. and the next two housewives that we're going to be looking into, which we'll get to. But yeah, Kim is a big name. And she's brought on, and she's also introduced by Kenya. So same as Claudia. And the concept of her getting introduced is that we hear back at the end of season seven, I think, at the reunion, Kenya tells everybody that she's self-funding and self-producing a 30-minute comedy called Life Twirls On. I don't think this gets made. I should really start looking some of this up before. I need someone to fact check me. When we get big and famous, I'll have a researcher. ⁓ that's cute. ⁓ Or it could just be me, I guess. Life twirls on his coming and Kenya's guys, guys, geese, guys for introducing Kim Fields is, ⁓ like I need advice from a well-respected actress for my special. So Kim is introduced this way and let's kind of see what we can garner about her from her tagline here. You heard our folks, faith, family, and career. Those are the facts of her life. that's what she is all about. That is very much what we get from Kim when she's on the show. She is straight-laced. She is more traditional than the women, definitely more conservative, not in a political way, in a modesty, traditional kind of sense. ⁓ And so she's different. I honestly overall kind of feel like whoever cast her, not casted, like people say, that's not correct grammar, just so you all know. Whoever cast Kim Field, set her up. Like set her up bad. Because it just isn't the right lifestyle for her and I feel like you could tell that like right away that she isn't really gonna fit in with this group of women and she's not gonna fit in on this type of reality TV show format where you do need to get a little bit messy and a little bit raw and a little bit real if not a lot of bit of all of those things and she's not great at it like she's just it's just her natural like demeanor she's like focused on class she's focused on elegance and manners but in like a real way not in like a Countess Luanne way where like she's also having fun like no she's really just doing that. And she even says like in her like opening scene with Kenya they're kind of like talking about eventually getting her out with the group. Kenya's like we can have a couple drinks. Kim's like ⁓ I don't really drink much. Kenya's like you don't like wine? No I don't like wine. If I indulge, if I ever drink, it's usually just Kahlua and milk. which is like a coffee, so it's not like the most horrendous milk alcohol beverage. But then she says, only a tiny bit of Kahlua and a whole lot of milk. Mind you, if you're not a big drinker, or if you're not familiar with Kahlua, it is a coffee liqueur, but it doesn't have a lot of liquor in it. It's not even like a Tito's in a big glass of milk, where you'd be getting a little bit of that shot. She's probably getting nothing. So basically, she doesn't drink, is what she's saying. Which again, I don't want this to be used as clip in a lawsuit as evidence by Leah or any other reality reckonings, but you kind of need to be a drinker to be on certain Housewives franchises, or at least be a little less buttoned up. You gotta be. down to clown, especially with these ladies at the time. They are partying, they're getting after it, they're doing shots on group trips, so she's gonna feel out of place. You know this from right when she's saying that. You can even see it on Kenya's face, like, ⁓ okay, we'll see how this goes. And Kim is married, she has children and a husband. Her husband, which we get to later in the season, has some speculation regarding his sexuality. Out in the streets, viewers, the ladies, whoever, it's a little sus. Who are we to say? But it seems a little sus. And you know, she's talking to him about like meeting the women. She's nervous. She's like, I have to show them Kimmy and not Kim Fields, like the business woman and all that good stuff. So Kimmy is getting ready to meet the girls. They have ⁓ like booze crews for I think Cynthia's birthday. And this is a wild one. We get a little wild. this one. It's definitely a booze cruise. So not Kim's environment. And she comes to the cruise and she seems to have like an okay time. But some really funny moments from her on the cruise. One, they're all wearing like, you know. Batty bathing suits, they look amazing, as they always do. And Kim kind of latches onto Phaedra as her ally pretty quickly, because Phaedra kind of has that faux class about her. Phaedra has it in the Luan way. She's classy, but can still have a good time. So Kim confides in Phaedra, and she says, like, You know, this is good, but I wish we would see less boobage in these women. Like, there's too much boobs going around. And Phaedra starts laughing and is like, I think you might be in the wrong group. Like, that's not going anywhere. And she says, Kim says, you know, I just, I wish we could bring back class. Which is even funnier, because on this booze cruise is when Portia and Cynthia get into a physical fight and start kicking the shit out of each other with Kim right next to them. So class is not on this boat. Class did not board. Which probably isn't very pleasing to Kim. What might be pleasing, though, is the little snack she brought for herself. She brings with her Tupperware, like multiple Tupperware containers of like little trail mix snacks. Like one of them is like the dried bananas. One is actual trail mix. The ladies see her snacking away on her little snacks and are like, what do you mean you brought Tupperware to the cruise? We have food, we have drinks. Where did you think you were going? And she's like, I'm a mom and an actress and I'm always prepared. Girl. Why'd you bring the Tupperware on the boat? At least bring a person, like stick like a bar in your bag away from like a Tupperware, like where you have to break out the whole thing and like hear it opening and hear you chomping on the trail mix. Humiliating. I think it's Kenya who literally takes the Tupperware and tucks it overboard. It's like, who could not be bringing this to our events? Hilarious. And obviously, she's aghast at them getting physical. This is starting to reveal to her as what Phaedra had just told her, maybe this group isn't going to be right for you. Anyways, they are going on a girls' trip to Miami is where they're kind of recalculating after this boat cruise is a little bit rough. And Kim is getting ready and is talking to her husband about, you know, getting prepared. So let's kind of let's ⁓ I'll let y'all I'll let y'all watch this one. So, re the speculation regarding his sexuality. This doesn't help. mean, this isn't like super woke to say, but at least I'm just showing you like why people were saying this. And if you were watching as a viewer, what people would have said, because she's all pleased about her nails. She's like, baby, look, look, look at that. Like looking good. Ready for my trip? He's like, ⁓ those are chopped. Like you need to shape those nails up. How embarrassing. How embarrassing. sending a little prayer up right now. I hope I will never be in a relationship, ⁓ my God, I'm tearing up just thinking about it. I hope I will never be in a relationship where my man clocks my nails before I do. my God, that's devastating to think about. But you see the point, like you actually see the point. And if you're watching this, can see tears are literally streaming down my face. This is the life I live. I don't know what it is about my tear ducts. They go to Miami. You know, Kim's a little nervous, but she goes. So hell yeah. I mean, it's probably contractually had to go, but she goes. And they're doing like the classic housewives moment where they all walk around the house and like pick rooms. And Kim is getting annoyed by this. Like she's like, this is stupid. Like there's pecking order of like who gets to pick what. I'm just going to make my own choice. And she like walks off from them where they're all like going room to room and is like, my room is already ready right here. she goes and walks right into the living room. And it's like, this is perfect. There's a bathroom. There's a TV. She lays out on the couch and sprawls out. And it's like, this is amazing. And the women are ⁓ confused, I am, still watching. Why do you want the living room? There's plenty of rooms. You would get a room. You just have to wait a sec. ⁓ But was making a. statement I guess which like I've known to be dramatic like that as well but you can't really do that when you're like the unfun newbie you know ⁓ and yeah so this like choosing of the living room is like a weird move again I don't really understand it it's funny to me though like I'm fine with it like if she wants to be weird and she's not she does not have a good time on this girls trip She has, she tells them that she's never been away from her kids and her husband for more than like two days or something ridiculous. Like her kids are like not infants, like they're not babies. Like they could be left alone. ⁓ So it's a little bit, you know, side eyeing, but it's funny. We get this funny clip of her like actually sobbing because she can't handle being on this girl's trip. I don't understand, just like dancing with girls, just to dance. Like, ⁓ aww. Kim, Kimmy, come on, let loose, make a friend, enjoy girl time. Like that makes me sad for her. Aw. ⁓ Yeah, she clearly doesn't fit in. It's like not, it's not going well. She's very upset. She misses her kids, misses her husband. Again, it's like kind of a lot. they've been gone for like not even a day at this point. And they're domestic, like they're in the US. You can get home if you need to get home. Anywho, one final Kim Fields moment I want to touch on is another attempt of hers to kind of like. not change the group because I feel like it's pretty obvious that that's not gonna happen, but to assert that she is different and that she doesn't fully agree with their way of life. Way of life, how they live their lives is probably a better way to say that. But she has an event at her home and calls it the Beatless Brunch. So it's a no makeup brunch. She, on the invite, says, do not come wearing makeup. You will be checked at the door. Your makeup, don't come wearing, do not come. meme like do not come if you're wearing makeup is what Kim says. ⁓ Hilarious. mean hilarious to any housewives to have an event like this but specifically this group who again, glamazon divas, baddies like they always look good, they're always glam tf out. This is not an invite that's gonna go over well with them obviously and they all come well yeah they all come. Nini is not a part of this season. So that's what I was thinking earlier. They're all kind of missing someone. So Nini's not here. But Phaedra, Candy, Kenya, Portia, and Sheree all come to the Beatless Branch. Now, do they come following instructions? No. Sheree is the only one who shows up without makeup. I mean, she looks fab, all credit, all power to her. She looks amazing, beautiful. I mean, they're all beautiful women. They would all look beautiful if they actually followed the instructions, but they don't. Phaedra, Candy, Kenya, and Portia all show up in makeup to varying degrees. Kim is like, ⁓ hi, welcome in. You look amazing. Can you ⁓ check those lashes at the door? Like, why don't we just? And like, don't even think she's kidding. I think she would have seriously taken their lashes and put them on her front table and just been like, come enjoy now that you're makeup bliss. But she doesn't go that far. She doesn't really make them. But yeah, they're not happy about this. Kenya is like, I honestly didn't even want to come. Like, this is ridiculous. Some people don't like to do that. They get into a little debate at the brunch. Portia is like, some of us aren't comfortable not wearing makeup. Like, part of our brand is being fabulous. Whatever, it's just another clashing moment of Kim in the group. ⁓ She starts to get the gay husband allegations towards the end of the season, mostly from Kenya, which makes her like, I thought this person was my friend in the group. They're not. ⁓ NeNe and Phaedra kind of try and help her. ⁓ contradicting myself. NeNe comes in a guest capacity, I guess, because she's not a main in this season, or at least she wasn't on the Miami trip. Maybe that's what I'm. Clearly I need to fact check some of my stuff before I do this. Anyways, gay husband allegations are flying about. She is upset, of course. Reunion, that's kind of her only real important moment is like they get into that again. Her husband, classy guy it seems, is like, know, it is what it is. Like most of the women have apologized to me and they say that all the housewives have apologized to him and Kim besides Kenya. And he says that she's a horrible person and doesn't want to rock with her. And he says, honestly, the thing that I care more about is that if this affected any members of the gay community who are watching who thought it was an insult or felt like they'd been through something like this where they've been ridiculed or pressured, which I think is classy, ⁓ it does make me wonder again, are you in the gay community to have these connections with the gay community? But that's really none of my business. None of theirs, none of anybody's. So, say la vie to them. I think they're still married, so hopefully they're doing well. They seem to have genuine care and respect for each other, which is the most important thing, obviously. All right, let's get into it. Next up for my number three spot. We'll circle back to season one with Dashaun Snow. Who? Let me play her tagline. She always knew she was destined for greatness. Is she? No, of course not. Of course not. Literally, of course not. ⁓ But here she is. Deshaun is an OG, an OG housewife of Atlanta. So she's season one. So that's something. Even if you're at one season wonder, I feel like the way to do it is to at least be a part of the OGs. And it's less embarrassing that you flopped because. You didn't know. You didn't have a blueprint in front of you. So justice for Deshawn there. But she is one of those housewives who thinks that all that you need to be a successful housewife on this show or just in the world or famous is to be a good housewife and is to be rich and to be opulent and to have lots of What's the word? Like superfluous things that you really don't need but you can have because you have all this money. It's similar to like a Cherise. It's similar to a Heather Dubrow at times even though she does it better than most people. It's similar to, ooh, it's similar to Angel. from Potomac's most recent season. They probably are the closest. I was texting Blake when we were watching, or when I was watching and kind of deciding that I was going to do it solo, was like, Deshawn walked so Angel, our HOP, could run. Like, Deshawn is Angel's drag grandmother in the Housewives world, if you know what I mean. Like, family tree-wise, Deshawn is Angel's drag mother, mother, not grandmother. That is because of the over explaining of your money and your funds and how great your life is. Deshaun Defoe has that syndrome. ⁓ She has a beautiful home. Right away, we get to see her house, and her husband seems classy. ⁓ They go into this home in Atlanta for the first time on camera. They had built this out, and it's brand new. which that in itself is a... clear move, like, ⁓ you just happened to not go into your house until filming started? Like, what, how long did you wait until you could get that first scene on the books to go in here and look at our gorgeous house? And it's gorgeous. It's huge. It's a mansion. It's massive. ⁓ In her opening scene, she says again that she always knew that she was destined for greatness, which is also the tagline as we saw. ⁓ And you know, skipping ahead, after the show ends, her husband divorces her and he was cheating on her and had a major affair the whole time. So, you know, what lurks beneath the surface on these seasons is usually trouble, especially when there's all this posturing of like, money, our house, our love, our family. Like, you don't need to be doing all that. She is, for a large part of her storyline, hiring staff for her massive house. And it's very strange. She interviews all these people for a personal assistant position, for an estate manager role. ⁓ And there's this one lady they're interviewing for the state manager role and she's like so buttoned up and prim and proper and kind of scary. Like she gives like housekeeper that would like be like murdering the family members and their guests like, And she says like, ⁓ like for example, like your parents are coming into town and I went ahead and I asked them what they would, what they'd like to request. Like, first of all, do you even have the job yet? Why are you talking to her dad? And then her dad only requests Baileys, vodka, and salmon. If it was Kaluah, he could have made a little drink for Kimmy, Kimmy Fields, but alas. And Deshawn is like, wait, what? Like, no, like do not get him that. And her husband is like, is this a club? Do we really need that? Like, okay, no one's having Baileys and salmon at the club. Like this is an adult man, whatever. Already weird stuff going on in here. Dashaun clearly has a lot of money. She has a glam person and a hair person come over to get ready for Sheree's But yeah, with her, definitely gives big time that if she had been on more seasons, there would have been like a messy, messy divorce scandal, probably like a fraud for like whatever's going on with their house money and defo a horrible like reunion slaughter, slaughtering either by her of the other housewives or by her husband, if you like, were to show up. That's what it's giving. ⁓ I kind of already touched on this, but to be that type of housewife where you can flaunt your wealth and be the classy one and be the super like, here's all my stuff, you also have to have an authentic and silly side. So it isn't giving like kept wife and weird vibes, which it is going with Deshaun, even though it's funny, like all of it's kind of funny. She like is like acting. It doesn't give anything. It doesn't give real in any sense of the word. ⁓ And the staff interviewing continues on throughout the season. This is one of her main storylines. And she starts turning people down if they don't know who she is. She's like, and what do you know about me? And it kind of, in my head, I'm like, ⁓ she probably wants them to say nothing so they don't seem thirsty. But no, she wants the opposite. She wants them to search her up and be like, I know this and ⁓ this about you. Which realistically, all there is to know about her is that she married a NBA player and she has a charity for like inner city young girls to help them with like their self-esteem and ambition and that kind of stuff. So it's not like they really need to know all that much but very strange. She literally declines somebody on camera because they don't know her and she's offended. But speaking of said charity, her other main storyline is that she's throwing her first fundraiser for this self-esteem young girls charity in Atlanta. She wants to raise a million dollars at this event. That's her goal. And immediately the other women are like, this is not going to happen. There's just no way. Like, that's way too much money. It's unrealistic. ⁓ As she starts to invite people like Sheree and NeNe are like, these aren't the big spenders of Atlanta. Like, I don't know if this is fully going to work out. She has the charity event. Nini helps her out with it. Nini's supposed to be the auctioneer for the silent auction with a news anchor from Atlanta. So it seems like they've gotten some people, local people around that are ⁓ well-known names, relatively, like the news. He's on TV. The event is a huge flop as you could have predicted as anybody could have predicted. It's awkward. The auction like nobody's even paying attention to it. No one is buying anything like they have all these vendors of like really expensive stuff and a proceeds. Some of the proceeds of somebody buys like a watch or a purse will go back to the charity. Kim. I was just Kim Fields Kim Zolciak buys like a watch and expensive watch so she might have literally been the bulk of their raised funds. But yeah, they reveal at the end, it's super awkward, like watching NeNe and this news anchor try to auction stuff off and nobody's even paying attention, little one bidding is very awkward. She reveals at the end that they had only raised $10,000, which like no one's going to knock any money going towards charity, but 1 million to 10K is a big drop. And she says that she spent 30K on this. So lost money, like she lost personal money. So it was not a success at all. And this is like her main thing, so just a little awkward. Reunion comes around and similar to the other ladies that we're discussing this episode, not a huge impact. They discuss her flop charity event and Andy is like, yeah, that was a little hard to watch, the auction and all that. Which is one of those things where I'm like, ⁓ Andy doesn't like this lady. Like she won't be back. You can kind of tell, I feel like at the reunion who he has patience for and who he doesn't. And yeah, she's on mute the whole time. Andy even tries to get her involved a couple of times and it's like, just show them what do you think? And she's like. I just want to get back to my house and my staff and raise money for charity. So fail. But I still put Tashaun at number three here, not last, because I do think it's funny watching her like. flop. Again, it's like her and Kim Fields occupy the two middle spots out of the four because they flop in a way that it's funny. Like you can you can be a kind of a boring housewife and or a fail housewife and still have like memories and an impact in terms of like people will remember you. I wouldn't say that about the last woman in this ranking. ⁓ No shade, I mean guess it's a little bit of shade. But my number four spot goes to Shamari Devoe, who is a new housewife on season 11. And let's watch her tagline. Not a bad tagline in terms of like the kitschiness of it. But basically, the whole point of this tagline is similar to one of her main storylines, if not only, is that she once was in an open relationship with her husband. So that's like why I'm an open book. ⁓ reminds me like that Meg the stallion like I'm an open book and your man probably read it like that's kind of what she's saying yeah your man or your woman probably read it because it was open like and I'm gonna talk about it a lot ⁓ and she does but she's introduced by candy in like the singing world connection candy says she knows her from events and stuff and knows her husband who is also a singer and has been very famous. So similar to like the hiring of Kim Fields, this seems to be another one of those castings that is like, ⁓ these are people, this is someone who is well known in Atlanta, has some notoriety in like actual pop culture world. So we might like get some fans coming in for them who want to see them. And ideally they like are very enmeshed in the culture in Atlanta, in, you know, just in general, Bravo loves famous people. Like they'll take someone who has... fans and put them on a show. Why not? Seems like synergy is whatever you'd call it. But right away, similar to Kim, they're not similar people at all, and Kim Fields, but right away you can kind of tell like it's not the right vibe. ⁓ Again, lots of cool accolades, cool life, but doesn't seem immediately off the bat to to Jill is my impression, both when I watched it for the first time and when I watched it on rewatch. And her and her husband are like now, I assume, like took a little break from their music careers. But now their next endeavors that they're making music together again, ⁓ or for the first time, it seems like they had their own separate careers and kind of came back together, which seems to be a big deal. So she has a show like she has shows going on with her group as well as with her husband and the women all go and they're super supportive. They enjoy themselves. It's not like she's like a flop singer. Like they have a good time. They all say she looks good, but her outfits are a little dated, but she looks good like body's tea And the outfits are a little dated. I think that's a little nitpicky. You know how it is with a new person They're all like raah, but yeah and at her first event with them She tells the girls that her and her husband used to have an open relationship. I don't know how this comes up Maybe it's not like exactly the first event I don't know, I think it is the first event. She tells them this. And it was a couple years ago. It's not happening still, but she brings it up. And it's like, yeah. And they're like, OK, sick, interesting. Were you with men or women? And she's like, only women. In the open relationship, my husband wouldn't want me to be with other men. So open, but only to women, which seems like little, eh, OK, but whatever. And this is kind of like her main thing. Like that's what I mean. It's in her tagline and it's her main thing. Like she talks about it all the time. It's always coming up. They're always like playing, you know, like the little like housewife group games and she's always bringing it up, talking about like hooking up with women, talking about the openness of the relationship and like what that did for them, which you know, like hell yeah. She goes on a lunch with Candy and Todd, you know, like the sexually liberated couples lunch where they like talk about how Candy and Todd have had a threesome, you know. Just kind of like in Candice Brand to do that with her since that's been like Candice shtick as well. So that's like one of her main things. Another one is that she drinks a lot. Like she's drunk all the time and the women start to get. I don't even know if they care about her enough to say concerned. Like it's like more like annoyed almost like you're going to be coming around us. You got to how to act. And there's a party at Nene's where really, which also since we're talking Kim Field. Her impact is felt here, because NeNe has this party called the bi-wig party. And you're supposed to wear your natural hair. Kim Fields nachos. She nabbed those from her the earlier season. Like, this is the beetless brunch, but it's a wigless brunch. I was trying to think of a word with a W, so it would be the same alliteration, but I can't. So yeah, impact right there for Kimmy. And they have this bi-wig party, and there's a lot of funny things that happen. But Shamari is so drunk. She throws up on Eva. I think it gets all over Eva's shoes. She throws up in Nini's bathroom, ⁓ which I'm a yakker as well if I get too drunk. So I can't really shame on that game too much. But she apologizes a ton. ⁓ Rightfully so. mean, I think overkill. you we all, if you're getting drunk with people, you have to account for the fact that someone could get messy and that's just gonna happen. But that's her other thing. She... Yeah, I mean, like I'm trying to I was just about to try and think of something else to say, but it's really just what comes in my mind, even though I just watched it to like you think I'd have something besides it is the the drinking and the open relationship. And those are Shamaris impacts. She like fits in all right with the group, like definitely like better. Chemistry than like Kim Fields ⁓ or even like a Deshawn, although season one is a bit of different time. Not as good as Claudia, obviously, but I rank her last because there's really no, there's no impact. Like when you, if you are a listener, well, if you're a listener of this pod, I'm curious to know what comes to your mind when you think of Shamari before you listen to this, before you like even like looked up like who she was again to remind yourself. Like, is there anything? I feel like probably not, like probably not. If there is, then you probably have a great memory, or you wear a Shamari stand. I'm here for it if you want to stand like a rando. I've done it. Elizabeth Lynn Vargas, I liked her. ⁓ But yeah, there's just nothing. So my reasoning for the ranking in terms of memorability and how much I enjoyed them, and I enjoyed the flops that are funny more than the flop that's forgettable for my bottom three. And then I think just objectively, if you're not putting Claudia Jordan first, you're wrong. But the last thing I'll say about Shamari is again, Reunion doesn't make a huge impact, but we do get like her most impactful, her most iconic moment isn't even her, it's what Portia says about her. But I do think this is pretty funny from the Reunion. She doesn't have a drinking problem. She just has a problem drinking. Me, me, I felt that. I love Forja so much. Like she's so understanding. She's like, no guys. Anyways, hilarious. Literally me defending myself, me defending my homegirls when we get too wild. Insert clip. ⁓ Yeah, only other thing from the reunion that's funny with Shamari is she gives, I guess the shoes she threw up on of Eva's at the bi-wig party. She asked her where they were from and how much. And they're from Zara. And so she gives Eva a Zara gift card on the stage. Kind of silly. It's like, I've shot there. Hey, y'all. It's not like it's Gucci or Balmain. It's probably like $50 Zara shoes, but whatever. Got to reimburse. A viewer writes in and asks Shamari if her bisexual days are really and truly behind her. Insane thing to write in those are my only notes from the reunion and from her so like that's my my rank so you've got claudia number one kim fields number two dashawn snow and our girl shamari you know if we were going to do it like abby lee miller like at the top of the pyramid once again going three for three is claudia and yeah i i really think like you're just lying if you wouldn't put her at the top of these four. I don't think there's another way to go with it. So, yeah, shout out to Claude's shout out to all of them, honestly, like, again, there is a place for every housewife in the Hall of Housewives or however many episodes in our podcast, and they're coming up on our podcast. So they're still having an impact. There's still gorgeous ladies who share their lives with us. So thank you. Our flops. Thank you. Our chop chop housewives. We love you. ⁓ and I guess I should mention that technically there are five one season housewives now because on the most recent season of Atlanta, we had Britt Eadie. Who was kind of like the antagonist to Kenya and made us lose our Kenya off our screens. I don't really have much of an opinion on her, like I watched the new season and. Like it wasn't like she was so bad, but like we just knew there was all this off camera drama, so kind of ruined it. And yeah, you have to temper yourself in your first couple seasons. It's like getting a new job. You can't show up and pour gas all over the place and go crazy and think you're not going to get fired. It's kind of the same thing. You've got to wait till you have a little bit more street cred to really start showing your cards. ⁓ So I think that was her issue. But either way, maybe one day if we come back to a topic like this and it's been a minute, we can revisit Brit when it's been ⁓ a hot sec, but it's too soon. So we're not going there. I'm not going there. I don't care to look back at the most recent season either, since it was so soon. We're trying to really go backwards and bring up some stuff that we haven't seen in a minute since there are so many voices on what's currently being aired. Speaking of. We've so enjoyed, well we are, Blake, I'm speaking for both of us, we've so enjoyed our trip into the ATL. I-T-G-I-R-L, a girlfriend, ATL. And we're gonna go a little bit colder climate for the next. week, potentially two weeks, still shaking that out. We'll post a schedule and like episode details and what we're talking about to Instagram and TikTok. ⁓ Usually YouTube shorts too, so check that all out. But we are going to the Salt Lake City in Utah to see our girls, likely one of those earlier seasons, maybe a topic, maybe a focus. If there is anything that you guys want us to talk about specifically related to Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, DM us, message us. I'll put like a ask box maybe tomorrow on our Instagram and let us know and we'll get cooking for y'all and we'll see you next Monday. If you're looking for content or if you wanna kinda see certain videos or extra stuff that we'll be posting, check us out on Instagram where I mention it all again, pod. I'll put the info here at the end of the video. And we will see you next week with the beautiful Blake in his new apartment, which will be so exciting. ⁓ So I will see y'all then stream the episode, enjoy the episode. Come talk to us. Talk to me.
