- 0:22Speaker 1: It is time believe your worries outside and laugh with
- 0:27Speaker 1: us inside the treehouse. I am Daniel Mallley. That is
- 0:33Speaker 1: Trade Trendholm and he is Raj Sharma. On Thursday, March
- 0:37Speaker 1: twenty seventh, two thousand and one. Five Happy Thursday, gentlemen,
- 0:42Speaker 1: day before Fridday. Happy Thursday. We don't typically go backwards
- 0:49Speaker 1: on this show, but when we do, it just did
- 0:53Speaker 1: pretty good. I'm gonna go all the way back in time.
- 0:59Speaker 1: So yes, today, when we were talking about the robot
- 1:02Speaker 1: that knows kung Fu's huge advancement in robotics and artificial
- 1:06Speaker 1: intelligence out of a company in China showing off the
- 1:10Speaker 1: capabilities of its new robot, not only can it dance,
- 1:14Speaker 1: but it also knows seamless kung fu. And while that's
- 1:19Speaker 1: cool and all, if you're okay with getting your ass
- 1:23Speaker 1: kicked by a robot and then having him dance on
- 1:26Speaker 1: your grave afterwards, perfectly, I was hit with a different
- 1:32Speaker 1: story after we did the show, and that was the
- 1:37Speaker 1: story a paralyzed man who was able to walk again
- 1:44Speaker 1: after the world's first artificial intelligence brain spine interface surgery
- 1:49Speaker 1: in China. Here's where these two stories intersect. Besides my
- 1:56Speaker 1: late night bedroom Doomscrolling. Yesterday we talked about the brand
- 2:01Speaker 1: new Kung Fu robot. Later that night I saw about
- 2:05Speaker 1: a paralyzed man walking again thanks to the advancements in
- 2:08Speaker 1: artificial intelligence and robotics. The problem is the sequence of
- 2:12Speaker 1: the stories. The story about the man learning how to
- 2:17Speaker 1: walk again thanks to robotics and AI is over a
- 2:21Speaker 1: year old, from twenty twenty three. The Kung Fu robot
- 2:28Speaker 1: is just from last week. So that means instead of
- 2:32Speaker 1: teaching how instead of teaching a paralyzed man flawless kung
- 2:38Speaker 1: Fu and fox trot, they gave it to a robot.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Skipped right over the poor Chinese man who'd been paralyzed
- 2:47Speaker 1: for years, had been an invalid, and as soon as
- 2:52Speaker 1: they showed him he could walk with assistance, they said,
- 2:54Speaker 1: now we're going to take this power and we're going
- 2:56Speaker 1: to give it to a to a robot who will
- 3:00Speaker 1: then do it all better than you. I think what
- 3:03Speaker 1: I'm getting at is our priorities are severely screwed.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I mean, Dan, the paralyzed man, even with you know,
- 3:16Speaker 2: working legs, he can only work like sixteen hours a day.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Those robots that Team Factory's got to run twenty four
- 3:24Speaker 2: to seven.
- 3:25Speaker 1: And that, ladies and gentlemen, is capitalism in a nutshell,
- 3:28Speaker 1: that's communism that too. Basically, that's the global economy saying
- 3:36Speaker 1: as a person, you're not so valuable. It's the amount
- 3:40Speaker 1: of work output we can get out of you. And
- 3:43Speaker 1: that's why a lot of us are going to be
- 3:44Speaker 1: replaced by robots. But seriously, I'm okay with you know,
- 3:50Speaker 1: having humanoid, artificial intelligence powered robots doing things, especially if
- 3:54Speaker 1: it's menial tasks that none of us want to do,
- 3:58Speaker 1: so that the rest of us can then advance in
- 4:00Speaker 1: other areas. But we have the technology. If I could
- 4:07Speaker 1: be so bold and sound like a seventies eighties television show,
- 4:13Speaker 1: we've got the technology to make him bigger, stronger, faster.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Let's give it to the dude and not to the robot.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Scientifically, the problem is like, if he's been paralyzed for years,
- 4:32Speaker 3: his muscle in his legs had to have atrophied, so
- 4:37Speaker 3: there's no way he's going to do kung fu for
- 4:39Speaker 3: the next.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Give him the robot legs, so it takes.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Away his legs.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Yeah, if his or no good, just give him some
- 4:52Speaker 1: robot legs.
- 4:54Speaker 3: They but they'll get better over time if he's walking again.
- 4:57Speaker 2: They have exoskeletons that they have been using for paralyzed people.
- 5:04Speaker 1: It's just.
- 5:06Speaker 2: The technology isn't one hundred percent yet. But but but
- 5:08Speaker 2: it's it's a coming.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and I shouldn't laugh at that, because it is.
- 5:12Speaker 1: It's a terrible tragedy, but it's kind of like when
- 5:17Speaker 1: the exoskeleton starts short circuiting a little bit. It's really terrible,
- 5:20Speaker 1: but it's also kind of funny to imagine. I don't
- 5:26Speaker 1: I can't feel my legs. I'm sorry, I'm doing it.
- 5:29Speaker 1: That's not me, I swear to God, it's it's I'm
- 5:33Speaker 1: so sorry. I have old legs back. It's safer.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Then we had to transplant the legs back.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Switching back, switching back. Uh no, it really did it.
- 5:45Speaker 1: It just it just hit me like an unfortunate ton
- 5:48Speaker 1: of bricks. It's like, Okay, this is really cool. We
- 5:50Speaker 1: saw this. You know, We've got we've got you know,
- 5:54Speaker 1: robot dogs that can spit fire and electrocute home invaders.
- 5:59Speaker 1: We've got robe that know kung fu. And the guy
- 6:02Speaker 1: that they helped walk again who's been paralyzed for years,
- 6:06Speaker 1: is over a year and a half ago. I'm just saying,
- 6:09Speaker 1: maybe he wants to spit fire and do some you
- 6:14Speaker 1: know kung fu on people.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Are you trying to make your own robocomp? Is this
- 6:20Speaker 3: what's happening?
- 6:21Speaker 1: I realized that's what it sounds like, and the more
- 6:23Speaker 1: I say it out loud, it really does sound like
- 6:27Speaker 1: that's where I'm headed. But okay, yeah, Look, if the
- 6:33Speaker 1: technology is there and we're not erasing the man's soul
- 6:38Speaker 1: or his memories and trying to turn him into an actual,
- 6:41Speaker 1: you know, android for the police state, I'm all for.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Look if I'm still me, but and I had a
- 6:50Speaker 1: tragic accident. If I have a tragic accident and you
- 6:53Speaker 1: can still keep me me, but then body parts that
- 6:57Speaker 1: got destroyed are robotic in some way, then all right cool.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I'm just saying, if there's no other option, then you know,
- 7:07Speaker 1: let's let's explore the robotic options.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Okay, uh, you said it out loud, and it's on
- 7:17Speaker 3: the show now. So if something happens to you, we're
- 7:20Speaker 3: gonna turn you into a robot.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I still have to be me. It's not some AI
- 7:25Speaker 1: version of me. It's still got to be me.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Just know we'll have an override.
- 7:37Speaker 1: I have thought poorly.
- 7:45Speaker 4: You're listening to the tree House. Visit us online a
- 7:48Speaker 4: Treehouse on air dot.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Com did not consider a master switch. Eight three three
- 7:58Speaker 1: Cook DFW. That's the phone number to reach Cook DFW
- 8:00Speaker 1: Roofing and Restoration. The website cookdfw dot com. Let's get
- 8:03Speaker 1: Daniel Cook into the Treehouse now. Now we talk a
- 8:07Speaker 1: lot about the roofing side of your business. That's probably
- 8:09Speaker 1: the bulk of it, but you guys also do a
- 8:11Speaker 1: lot of interior work. You do a lot of remodeling,
- 8:14Speaker 1: and you don't just do it for your clients, you
- 8:16Speaker 1: do it for yourself as well. Because you were just
- 8:18Speaker 1: telling me that you and Carrie got you a new
- 8:20Speaker 1: badass kitchen, right.
- 8:21Speaker 5: Dan, it's been pretty crazy.
- 8:23Speaker 6: We're doing a lot of work both in our house
- 8:26Speaker 6: and of course for our clients, and so juggling all
- 8:29Speaker 6: of those projects has been stressful. So we started with
- 8:32Speaker 6: a full master bathroom remodel. I went ahead and did
- 8:35Speaker 6: a custom walk in shower that's nine feet long and
- 8:39Speaker 6: four feet wide. Holy all marble tile and tile everywhere
- 8:46Speaker 6: and it looks really great. And cabinets, and then we
- 8:49Speaker 6: decided to come out and do all new flooring all
- 8:51Speaker 6: the way through the whole downstairs and then upstairs replace
- 8:54Speaker 6: all the carpet. We did a whole bunch of all
- 8:56Speaker 6: new baseboard upgrades and trim, and then I said, you
- 8:59Speaker 6: know what, we're already got all this done.
- 9:01Speaker 5: I guess let's do the kitchen too. So we ripped
- 9:03Speaker 5: out the entire kitchen down to the studs and redid
- 9:06Speaker 5: new cabinets and new countertops, put new courts, farm sink in,
- 9:11Speaker 5: new undercounting lighting, new lighting, and the halos and the top. So, yeah,
- 9:15Speaker 5: it's been a pretty aggressive freemodel here at the.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Cook Household, and they can do the same for you.
- 9:21Speaker 1: So that goes to show you sort of like the
- 9:22Speaker 1: old Men's Warehouse spokesperson where he would say he's not
- 9:25Speaker 1: only the president, but he's also a client. That's Daniel.
- 9:28Speaker 1: He's going to take that same level of expertise and
- 9:31Speaker 1: quality craftsmanship that he puts into his home and he's
- 9:33Speaker 1: going to put it into yours. Eight three to three.
- 9:35Speaker 7: Cook DFW or the website cookdfw dot com.
- 9:46Speaker 8: You're in the treehouse, visit us online at treehouseonair dot com.

- 10:08Speaker 1: Check out their website as well, cookdfw dot com. That's
- 10:11Speaker 1: cook dfw dot com. This is the Treehouse Show. I'm
- 10:15Speaker 1: Daniel Malley along with Trey Trenholm and Raj Sharma. Trey, RAJM.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Not sure if you guys have noticed, but there have
- 10:21Speaker 1: been a lot of problems on planes recently.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Yes, staying in one piece.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and not just that, There's been other issues
- 10:32Speaker 1: as well. There have been way too many problems on
- 10:35Speaker 1: planes and they keep stacking up like a Kardashian's first
- 10:38Speaker 1: trip to a plastic surgeon. Three that have really jumped
- 10:43Speaker 1: out at me. One an Air France plane was forced
- 10:48Speaker 1: to return home two hours into its journey after a
- 10:51Speaker 1: passenger lost their phone midflight. Okay, that's apparently a big
- 10:56Speaker 1: problem because if they can't find their phone, the phones
- 11:00Speaker 1: with the lithium batteries have a tendency to go boom,
- 11:04Speaker 1: and they want to find that plane. They want to
- 11:06Speaker 1: find that phone on the plane before it goes boom,
- 11:09Speaker 1: so they had to turn around and go back so
- 11:10Speaker 1: they could find the damn phone. Number two, a United
- 11:15Speaker 1: Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Shanghai had to turn
- 11:19Speaker 1: around last weekend because one of the pilots had taken
- 11:22Speaker 1: off without his passport. That's number two, number three of
- 11:31Speaker 1: the plane problems. According to a new federal lawsuit, a
- 11:36Speaker 1: United Airlines pilot broke the lock to a bathroom door
- 11:39Speaker 1: and forcibly removed a man for spending too much time
- 11:43Speaker 1: in the bathroom. According to the lawsuit, the man says
- 11:47Speaker 1: not only was he humiliated because the pilot dragged him
- 11:51Speaker 1: out of the bathroom with his pants around his ankles,
- 11:55Speaker 1: he was in there for so long, he claims, because
- 11:57Speaker 1: of constipation, and then because he's an Orthodox Jew, he
- 12:01Speaker 1: claims that the pilot hurled anti Semitic rhetoric and comments
- 12:05Speaker 1: and slurs at him while dragging him out of the bathroom. So, yeah,
- 12:11Speaker 1: I'm a little wary about flying right now. And that
- 12:14Speaker 1: didn't even bring up the planes that are landing upside
- 12:16Speaker 1: down or just flat out falling out of the sky.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Yeah, or like the sixteen hundred flights that had to
- 12:22Speaker 2: be diverted because he throw lost power.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Because even the airports are catching fire. You know what,
- 12:32Speaker 1: you know what this is? You know what this is
- 12:34Speaker 1: really uh shining an important light on the fact that
- 12:37Speaker 1: if you can maybe just drive, just drive wherever it
- 12:40Speaker 1: is you want to go.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a that's that's a long way it is.
- 12:48Speaker 1: But you know what with and I'm being serious here,
- 12:53Speaker 1: if I was traveling somewhere and I guess let me,
- 12:59Speaker 1: let me I'm trying to like put this into perspective here.
- 13:02Speaker 1: If I was going to travel somewhere, I would only
- 13:04Speaker 1: consider traveling places that I could that I'd have options
- 13:08Speaker 1: in order to get there, kind of like the movie Planes, Trains, automobiles,
- 13:12Speaker 1: there's my top three and if I really need to walk,
- 13:16Speaker 1: but that'll take forever. But I really would consider all
- 13:19Speaker 1: modes of transportation.
- 13:23Speaker 2: I mean, air travel is still the safest. Means, yes,
- 13:30Speaker 2: I mean it's supposed to be. Even everything you listed,
- 13:34Speaker 2: no one died.
- 13:35Speaker 1: That's true. That is very very true. Nobody died there.
- 13:40Speaker 1: There have been some where that has happened, but the
- 13:43Speaker 1: ones that I that we focused on here, yeah, you know,
- 13:45Speaker 1: no one died because the pilot forgot his passport. No
- 13:48Speaker 1: one died because a passenger lost their phone mid flight.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Those two planeses had to turn around. No one died
- 13:54Speaker 1: because the poor Jewish man was constipated and it was
- 13:56Speaker 1: yanked out of the bathroom by the pilot. You're right,
- 13:58Speaker 1: nobody died an event. Actually, all those people got to
- 14:01Speaker 1: where they wanted to be, just maybe a little delayed. Serious.
- 14:07Speaker 1: You know what if I if I if I'm driving
- 14:09Speaker 1: somewhere and I lose my phone, that's okay. It's probably
- 14:11Speaker 1: in a car somewhere. I don't need to turn around.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Same thing if I'm on a train, which, by the way,
- 14:15Speaker 1: I feel like a broken record here. I've traveled enough
- 14:19Speaker 1: by train now, which is to say twice. Traveling by
- 14:23Speaker 1: train is really nice.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Mm hmm, very scenic. Yeah.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Growing up, I was afraid of it because they kept
- 14:30Speaker 1: flying off the tracks. But now they seem pretty good because.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Andre really going out of business.
- 14:37Speaker 3: So I'm gonna say this, Some of them still come
- 14:42Speaker 3: off the tracks. It happens. They just don't report it
- 14:45Speaker 3: on the news anymore.
- 14:47Speaker 2: I go whatever, and and and if you were going
- 14:55Speaker 2: on a road trip, let's say you were going on
- 14:58Speaker 2: a road trip, you were you had been in the
- 15:01Speaker 2: car an hour and you thought you had lost your phone.
- 15:06Speaker 2: And let's say this is like seven day road trip.
- 15:07Speaker 2: You're telling me you wouldn't turn around and go back.
- 15:10Speaker 1: First of all, if I'm on a road trip and
- 15:12Speaker 1: it took me an hour to notice I've lost my phone,
- 15:14Speaker 1: that's not me. Because if I'm on a road trip,
- 15:17Speaker 1: I'm playing something through my phone, whether it's music or
- 15:20Speaker 1: the Treehouse Show, I'm gonna know in way less time
- 15:24Speaker 1: than an hour if I've misplaced my phone.
- 15:28Speaker 3: You'll find out an hour that you don't have friends
- 15:32Speaker 3: that are checking on you.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Honestly, trey to answer your question, Yeah, I'm gonna turn around. Yeah,
- 15:38Speaker 1: but at least that's my fault. I have to swallow that.
- 15:41Speaker 1: It's not the pilot's fault. Of all the people in
- 15:45Speaker 1: the travel industry that are supposed to be the most responsible,
- 15:48Speaker 1: it's supposed to be the pilot.
- 15:53Speaker 3: I had a flight get canceled because the pilot that
- 15:56Speaker 3: was exiting the plane before the other pilot got on,
- 15:59Speaker 3: that pilot took the manual.
- 16:02Speaker 1: For the plane. Mm hmm, all right, real quick, If
- 16:05Speaker 1: if you're a pilot or a colt pilot, if you're
- 16:08Speaker 1: anywhere near the cockpit and allowed to touch the controls,
- 16:11Speaker 1: and you need the manual. I'm not flying with you.
- 16:15Speaker 1: I just I prefer my pilots to be off book.
- 16:19Speaker 3: It just has to be on the plane like he
- 16:23Speaker 3: just took it, so we got canceled.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Have you ever read the Escapades of Pilots and Flight Attendants?
- 16:33Speaker 1: You mean from like the sixties and seventies and such.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Oh no, no, no, no, no.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Is this is this an actual book?
- 16:42Speaker 2: Somewhere there's a there's quite a few little you know
- 16:44Speaker 2: tell alls and mairs of flight attendants and pilots and
- 16:49Speaker 2: what happens in those bunks and in the cockpit.
- 16:52Speaker 3: You know what.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Honestly, I don't care. I really don't if if if
- 16:56Speaker 1: the pilots and the flight attendants, the ground crew, if
- 17:00Speaker 1: they all want to have a big an orgy in
- 17:03Speaker 1: the middle of the plane, I don't care. As long
- 17:05Speaker 1: as we get there in one piece and on time,
- 17:08Speaker 1: and ideally if my bag can fly free.
- 17:12Speaker 3: I like how you added ground crew. I don't know
- 17:14Speaker 3: what it would be on that.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I'm just saying, I don't care.
- 17:19Speaker 2: I'm sure they appreciate getting, you know, getting a piece, but.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Yeah, you have a very weird fantasy, buddy, It's not
- 17:29Speaker 3: my fantasy.
- 17:29Speaker 1: I'm just saying, if you're part of the flight crew
- 17:31Speaker 1: and you want to get it on in the middle
- 17:32Speaker 1: of the flight, I don't care. Just get me there
- 17:34Speaker 1: is any ground crew on what.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Is it the yellow vest or is it the orange things?
- 17:45Speaker 1: You know, what's a little bit of gut. Yeah, I
- 17:50Speaker 1: think I think it's important if you have if you
- 17:52Speaker 1: have the flight attendants and and the pilots all in
- 17:57Speaker 1: some heap in what is now very appropriately named the cockpit,
- 18:03Speaker 1: then I think a responsible ground crew member to make
- 18:07Speaker 1: things go where they're supposed to go safely. I think
- 18:10Speaker 1: that's fine. And also, because the ground threw is in
- 18:14Speaker 1: charge of my check luggage, I want to make sure
- 18:16Speaker 1: that gets on the plane.
- 18:19Speaker 2: You're gonna get t s a handy while you're at it.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I'm not I'm just a passenger. Just get me there.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I think you are.
- 18:37Speaker 1: I just keep hitting that call button.

- 19:26Speaker 1: the show once again. The Treehouse Show website, Treehouse on
- 19:30Speaker 1: air dot com. This is the Treehouse Show. I'm Daniel
- 19:34Speaker 1: Malley along with Trey Trendholme and Raj Sharma. I'm going
- 19:38Speaker 1: to go out on a limb here and assume that
- 19:40Speaker 1: Trey and Raj you guys have not rushed to the
- 19:42Speaker 1: theater to see the new Snow White Disney remake. Correct,
- 19:50Speaker 1: what about any of the live action remix Because that's
- 19:53Speaker 1: that's what Disney's been doing in recent years. They're taking
- 19:57Speaker 1: their Disney animated classics and remaking them live action. And
- 20:03Speaker 1: I believe it started with Jon Favreau doing The Jungle Book,
- 20:08Speaker 1: and then the most recent one was the new adaptation
- 20:13Speaker 1: of Snow White and that just came out this last
- 20:17Speaker 1: weekend to a thunderous flop at the box office. Something
- 20:22Speaker 1: that has seemed to infect the string of new Disney
- 20:29Speaker 1: live action remakes because, like everything in this world these days,
- 20:34Speaker 1: somehow it got political. And yes, this Snow White remake
- 20:40Speaker 1: seemed to have been doomed from the beginning because I
- 20:42Speaker 1: remember years ago when they talked about pre production and
- 20:46Speaker 1: they're saying, Okay, we're gonna start shooting the snow White film. Ooh,
- 20:49Speaker 1: we have a problem, though, the problem is the seven Dwarves.
- 20:54Speaker 1: What are we going to do about the dwarves? Because
- 20:57Speaker 1: I think they had initially talked about casting actors to
- 21:02Speaker 1: voice them and then shrink them through CGI or something
- 21:06Speaker 1: or motion capture, and then the little people of Hollywood
- 21:10Speaker 1: got upset, saying, if you're gonna have dwarfs in a film,
- 21:12Speaker 1: you should start with us. So then that became an issue.
- 21:16Speaker 1: The whole story became an issue because well, do you
- 21:18Speaker 1: really want the story to still center around who's the
- 21:21Speaker 1: prettiest girl in the land, which is in essence what
- 21:23Speaker 1: the movie's about. So they tried to update that, and
- 21:26Speaker 1: it's just been a mess. And because of the mess,
- 21:30Speaker 1: it's it's flopping at the box office. It only made
- 21:33Speaker 1: like forty or forty three million dollars in its opening weekend,
- 21:37Speaker 1: which is considered a flop by today's standards. But the
- 21:42Speaker 1: creepy CGI dwarfs, according to the BBC a muddled tone.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Disney's latest live action remake is not calamitous, but it
- 21:49Speaker 1: is a mind boggling mash up. Some of these have
- 21:56Speaker 1: been really good, Like I remember people were pissed off
- 21:58Speaker 1: that the Little Mermaid was half black, half white or something.
- 22:01Speaker 1: It's like, why are you mad? Why are you mad
- 22:03Speaker 1: at that? If in your world, you're If you're in
- 22:07Speaker 1: your world, the thing you're most set about on a
- 22:10Speaker 1: given day is the skin color of a Disney princess.
- 22:15Speaker 1: You need some real problems while keeping in mind, sometimes
- 22:23Speaker 1: Hollywood and world in general in its political correctness as
- 22:26Speaker 1: a tendency to overcorrect. Yeah, just and I know this
- 22:32Speaker 1: is a big ask. Maybe just employ some common sense
- 22:35Speaker 1: with this stuff. Try it. See what happens because you
- 22:39Speaker 1: Because what's the saying, if you try to please everyone,
- 22:42Speaker 1: you please no one. That's what I think Disney is
- 22:44Speaker 1: suffering from.
- 22:47Speaker 3: How did you like the movie?
- 22:49Speaker 1: I haven't seen it, but growing up on the Disney
- 22:55Speaker 1: classics like I was forced to do thanks to my mother,
- 22:58Speaker 1: I have seen a number of them and I've liked them.
- 23:01Speaker 1: The Lion King live action remake I thought was really good.
- 23:05Speaker 1: The original cartoon was better, just because we wanted good
- 23:10Speaker 1: movie popcorn. My wife and I went and saw the
- 23:13Speaker 1: Lion King prequel. Moustafa Who that was some hot garbage.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Don't do not see that one? My god, that was terrible.
- 23:21Speaker 3: You couldn't just get popcorn.
- 23:26Speaker 1: You need the whole experience. He the movie, popcorn, the
- 23:28Speaker 1: butter and all that kind of stuff. My wife has
- 23:29Speaker 1: a thing with it. What was another one, The Beauty
- 23:34Speaker 1: and the Beast remake was really good, starred Emma Watson
- 23:37Speaker 1: from the Harry Potter movie. So some have been really good,
- 23:39Speaker 1: some have been flops. Even some that didn't do well
- 23:42Speaker 1: at the box office, we're still fine because they suffered
- 23:44Speaker 1: from this political rhetoric, nonsense, wokeism, agenda type inflammatory stuff.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I don't think.
- 23:52Speaker 2: So here's I have a theory with snow White and
- 23:55Speaker 2: please that snow White was old when when we were kids,
- 24:02Speaker 2: I don't think. I don't think this new. Younger kids
- 24:06Speaker 2: really grew up on that stuff, so I don't think
- 24:08Speaker 2: there's a big draw to it. Lion King. We were
- 24:10Speaker 2: in our twenties when Lion King came out, so yeah,
- 24:14Speaker 2: but I mean that's one of my all time favorite movies,
- 24:18Speaker 2: and and I thought they did a great job with
- 24:22Speaker 2: the live action not as good, but they did fine,
- 24:28Speaker 2: and it did well. You know, I think it you know,
- 24:30Speaker 2: I know it broke a rebellion at the box office.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I did really well.
- 24:34Speaker 2: But I think one of the problems is some of
- 24:37Speaker 2: the older cartoons just aren't part of the culture anymore.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Of growing up, I think we're one of the last
- 24:45Speaker 2: generations that grew up on some of this stuff.
- 24:48Speaker 1: You bring up an excellent point. You're right, some of
- 24:50Speaker 1: the kids that these movies are allegedly aimed at, it
- 24:55Speaker 1: just may not be resonating with them. Because on one hand,
- 24:59Speaker 1: there's the people that say it's too much woke crap.
- 25:02Speaker 1: I don't want to see it. Just because they changed
- 25:04Speaker 1: the skin color of of the actress doesn't mean it's bad.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Maybe they're just trying to show people of the world
- 25:13Speaker 1: who the movie is intended for, that there's more than
- 25:15Speaker 1: one skin tone in the world. I'm okay with that.
- 25:18Speaker 1: That's not a big deal. And again, if you have
- 25:20Speaker 1: a big problem with that, you've got a problem the
- 25:26Speaker 1: Some of the stories do need to be updated, because
- 25:28Speaker 1: even the versions we grew up on were changed. Because
- 25:31Speaker 1: some of the origin stories of some of these movies
- 25:36Speaker 1: are horrific, like it's not bad, Like it makes you
- 25:40Speaker 1: wonder how did they ever tell these stories in a cave?
- 25:42Speaker 1: How did these cave children go to sleep?
- 25:46Speaker 2: But let's do you're absolutely correct, like, uh whatever, the
- 25:53Speaker 2: one that were it was a little made where people
- 25:55Speaker 2: were having a fit that that was absolutely ridiculous. Now
- 25:58Speaker 2: one turned out fine. Yeah, the snow White actress. Disney
- 26:02Speaker 2: really should have a clause when it casts somebody of
- 26:04Speaker 2: going Okay, no politics, don't don't whether you like him
- 26:09Speaker 2: or not, don't call half the country stupid and say
- 26:12Speaker 2: other really bad things. It's not good for business.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Yeah, isn't that Phil?
- 26:18Speaker 1: What's that?
- 26:19Speaker 3: Isn't that Phil Collins daughter that's in the movie?
- 26:23Speaker 1: I don't know if she's in it, but no, this
- 26:25Speaker 1: is the the girl playing snow White is Rachel's ziggler?
- 26:29Speaker 3: Oh is it?
- 26:30Speaker 1: Yeah? So different thing, But there's that to be considered
- 26:36Speaker 1: when you're right, Trey, that's a lot. That's a reason
- 26:38Speaker 1: why a lot of businesses will say, keep your politics
- 26:40Speaker 1: to yourself because it'll alienate half our potential audience, So
- 26:43Speaker 1: shut up. But if I was a father of a girl,
- 26:50Speaker 1: I would be totally fine with Disney updating the storyline
- 26:53Speaker 1: to be you know what, honey, you don't have to
- 26:56Speaker 1: wait for a handsome prince to come to save you.
- 26:59Speaker 1: I will teach you everything you know so you can
- 27:00Speaker 1: be a badass little girl on your own. I don't know.
- 27:04Speaker 1: I don't know any man, and I know I know
- 27:06Speaker 1: a hell of a man that has raised two amazing daughters,
- 27:09Speaker 1: and that's how he raised him. He don't care, that's
- 27:12Speaker 1: how he raises his daughter. And if Disney wants to
- 27:15Speaker 1: update a little bit to have the female lead actually
- 27:18Speaker 1: be a little more fierce and independent, I'm okay with
- 27:20Speaker 1: that too. M If you if you still truly feel
- 27:24Speaker 1: like a woman's place is only in the kitchen and pregnant,
- 27:26Speaker 1: then okay, that's a that's a different genre of film.
- 27:33Speaker 3: I don't think anybody's making movies like that. But no,
- 27:36Speaker 3: I agree with you. There's got to be that more
- 27:40Speaker 3: of the female empowerment. Like I'm on board with that.
- 27:44Speaker 3: That's great.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Strong woman doesn't scare me. That's fine. Now, I will
- 27:49Speaker 1: say some of the remakes, I'm glad that they've drawn
- 27:52Speaker 1: a line in the sand and said, you know what,
- 27:53Speaker 1: there's no reason to remake this particular film like Disney
- 27:57Speaker 1: was probably wise to pull Song of the South from
- 28:01Speaker 1: mainstream dissemination because if it's racist overtones, and I don't
- 28:09Speaker 1: really think they need to remake Old Yeller, we all
- 28:11Speaker 1: get it. Unless hang on, let me let me connect
- 28:21Speaker 1: this in my head. If Disney wants to remake Old Yeller,
- 28:25Speaker 1: but in their updated version, because they update all the
- 28:28Speaker 1: all the things to more modern themes in the new
- 28:31Speaker 1: Old Yeller, if it's the kid that gets rabies and
- 28:34Speaker 1: Yeller gets to shoot the kid, I'm in for that one.
- 28:39Speaker 2: That was the same direction that it was gonna go.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Yeah, kind of like what happened to that dude and
- 28:43Speaker 1: better with his girlfriend last week in Florida. Dog shot him.

- 29:34Speaker 1: Trunholm and Raj Sharma. Lots of bad things happen in
- 29:39Speaker 1: the world, and the reasons that those bad things happen
- 29:43Speaker 1: can sometimes be really confusing, and sometimes they turn out
- 29:47Speaker 1: to be really really obvious. The downside is to some
- 29:50Speaker 1: of the obvious things is they're just really really terrible,
- 29:53Speaker 1: Like this certain situation out of the Houston area.
- 29:56Speaker 10: Three teenage girls are in custy tonight after police day
- 30:00Speaker 10: they plan to kill their own mother, and they say
- 30:03Speaker 10: that it's all because their mom turned off the Wi Fi.
- 30:06Speaker 2: It happened.
- 30:08Speaker 1: I just want to let that breathe a moment. I
- 30:11Speaker 1: want to let you process that, Okay. Three teens accused
- 30:18Speaker 1: of trying to kill their mom because she turned off
- 30:20Speaker 1: the Wi fi.
- 30:22Speaker 10: Three teenage girls are in custody tonight after police say
- 30:26Speaker 10: they plan to kill their own mother, and they say
- 30:29Speaker 10: that it's all because their mom turned off the Wi Fi.
- 30:32Speaker 10: It happened overnight on Barker's Crossing near Barker, Cyprus in
- 30:36Speaker 10: northwest Harris County. That's where we find box twenty says
- 30:39Speaker 10: says Jade Flurry on this disturbing story.
- 30:42Speaker 11: Jade, well, Fortunately, The Harris County Sheriff's Office says that
- 30:47Speaker 11: the teen's mom was not seriously injured after her own
- 30:50Speaker 11: daughters tried to stab her with knives, and we spoke
- 30:53Speaker 11: with some nearby neighbors.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Do you guys catch that knives? Can I report a
- 31:01Speaker 1: second attempted murder in this case of the English language?
- 31:07Speaker 3: That's what I am laughing.
- 31:11Speaker 1: I didn't miss a memo, did I like? It's still knives?
- 31:15Speaker 1: M H. I would expect a reporter in a market
- 31:19Speaker 1: as large as Houston to know that the plural for
- 31:21Speaker 1: knife is not knives but knives.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Oh yeah, as an Indian kid was in spelling bees,
- 31:32Speaker 3: come on, it's knives.
- 31:37Speaker 11: Her own daughters tried to stab her with knives. And
- 31:40Speaker 11: we spoke with some nearby neighbors who tell us that
- 31:43Speaker 11: disturbances happen frequently at the family home.
- 31:46Speaker 12: They're known for that in this neighborhood, there's always talks
- 31:51Speaker 12: around the house.
- 31:52Speaker 11: A family dispute turned violent. The Harris County Sheriff's Office
- 31:56Speaker 11: says a mother was assaulted by her own teenage daughters
- 31:59Speaker 11: for turning off the Wi Fi. Authorities alleged the girls
- 32:02Speaker 11: then plotted to kill her. The three teens, ages fourteen, fifteen,
- 32:06Speaker 11: and sixteen years old accused of grabbing kitchen knives and
- 32:09Speaker 11: chasing their mom throughout that.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Okay, come on again, I was, I was. I was
- 32:15Speaker 1: hoping that it might have been just an accident, just
- 32:18Speaker 1: just live on TV. Snapfoo really again knife?
- 32:24Speaker 3: But fourteen fifteen, sixteen, Wow, that's a I think those
- 32:29Speaker 3: are the Irish triplets, as I think was what they
- 32:32Speaker 3: would be called.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Thank you for steering us back onto the actual topic
- 32:36Speaker 1: at hand, which is how horrible it is that the
- 32:38Speaker 1: mom turned off the Wi Fi and the kids attempted
- 32:41Speaker 1: murder because of it, And instead I'm focused on the
- 32:44Speaker 1: reporter saying knife. Turns out my priorities are also askew.
- 32:51Speaker 3: It's not as different.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Body yelse.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Knives twice. That's that's impressive.
- 32:59Speaker 11: Into the street. A nearby neighbor says they were returning
- 33:02Speaker 11: from the rodeo when they saw the family in the driveway.
- 33:05Speaker 11: Moments later, the homeowner and her sister her yelling.
- 33:08Speaker 12: When she got back from the gas station. She says
- 33:10Speaker 12: that that there was cops outside, but they've always you know,
- 33:13Speaker 12: been known as like trouble in this neighborhood, and our
- 33:17Speaker 12: neighbors tell us the same thing.
- 33:18Speaker 11: The mother was hit with a brick and the teen's
- 33:20Speaker 11: grandmother knocked over while trying to intervene teens fourteen, fifteen
- 33:24Speaker 11: and sixteen supposedly assaulting their mother because she turned off
- 33:28Speaker 11: the Wi Fi. What are your thoughts on that?
- 33:30Speaker 1: I think that's so crazy, totally normal, happens in the
- 33:33Speaker 1: neighborhood all the time. I told you that the first
- 33:34Speaker 1: part of the story. What part of this do you
- 33:36Speaker 1: not get? Knife's lady?
- 33:39Speaker 3: Two things? Why was there a picture of a fire
- 33:41Speaker 3: hydrant number one at one point? And then she was
- 33:45Speaker 3: hit with a brick.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Yeah, as if being attacked by knives wasn't bad enough.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Then they come at you with the brick, and then
- 33:56Speaker 1: they throw grandma down.
- 34:00Speaker 3: It's the thing about people getting hurt. The brick makes
- 34:04Speaker 3: me laugh.
- 34:05Speaker 1: You have a problem, but there's a other there's another
- 34:07Speaker 1: problem in here I that I want to listen for.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Listen to this again. I want to back this up
- 34:10Speaker 1: just a hair. Listen to this again. This is the
- 34:12Speaker 1: part where they show b roll in the neighborhood, which
- 34:15Speaker 1: includes a bike that's on the ground and the fire hydrant.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Listen to the background.
- 34:19Speaker 11: Okay, moments later, the homeowner and her sister her yelling.
- 34:24Speaker 12: When she got back from the gas station. She says
- 34:26Speaker 12: that that there was cops outside, but they've always, you know,
- 34:29Speaker 12: been known as like troubling.
- 34:31Speaker 3: Hear it, yep?
- 34:33Speaker 1: Then that sound like a cat and heat in the background.
- 34:35Speaker 1: It does not. Neighborhood's got it all, man.
- 34:44Speaker 3: This is why I hate Houston. It's bricks and kids
- 34:50Speaker 3: trying fourteen, fifteen and sixteen trying to kill their mom.
- 34:55Speaker 2: For Wi Fi. That's that's a gen Z problem.
- 34:58Speaker 3: Uh.
- 35:00Speaker 2: And the other problem with this is the second knives.
- 35:05Speaker 2: That was a voiceover like that was yes, she's done.
- 35:10Speaker 2: You know, there had to have been a producer and go, hey,
- 35:11Speaker 2: I go back and re record. That first knife was live, okay,
- 35:17Speaker 2: live shot, But second one, let's go, let's it's nice
- 35:22Speaker 2: she did.
- 35:23Speaker 1: That in the truck after they've already done the interviews.
- 35:25Speaker 1: She's written the piece, so not only does she say
- 35:28Speaker 1: it twice, you know, she's written it down and she's
- 35:30Speaker 1: reading it for that voiceover in the truck.
- 35:35Speaker 3: But she's like a daytime newscaster, so it's like the
- 35:41Speaker 3: day stripper, like they're not nobody's watching.
- 35:43Speaker 1: No no, no, no, no no no no. News reporters
- 35:47Speaker 1: and strippers don't really overlap as far as occupation goes.
- 35:51Speaker 1: It's not like daytime reporter is the same as daytime
- 35:55Speaker 1: stripper versus nighttime reporter nighttime dancer. That those things don't correlate.
- 36:03Speaker 1: It does with the anchors. So when you see no
- 36:09Speaker 1: Viello on Fox Foard doing the doing the nooner, you're.
- 36:19Speaker 8: In lot treehouse. This is online at Treehouse on Air

- 36:57Speaker 1: Thank you very much. Back inside the Treehouse Now, I'm
- 37:00Speaker 1: Daniel Malley along with Trey Trenholm and Raj Sharma. Today
- 37:04Speaker 1: is Thursday March twenty seven, twenty twenty five. Let's celebrate
- 37:12Speaker 1: with some birthdays. I almost said halle Berry is twenty five,
- 37:18Speaker 1: but it's not thirty years ago. It's Halle Bailey, who
- 37:23Speaker 1: is twenty five today. And since I never pre read birthdays,
- 37:30Speaker 1: this is what happens. You get little happy accidents like this.
- 37:34Speaker 1: You guys have no idea who Holle Bailey is?
- 37:36Speaker 3: Do you?
- 37:37Speaker 1: I do?
- 37:38Speaker 3: A Little Mermaid.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Had no idea the Disney remake discussion from earlier and
- 37:45Speaker 1: talking about how changing the skin color of the of
- 37:50Speaker 1: Ariel the Little Mermaid and the live action movie remake
- 37:52Speaker 1: would piss so many people off. And it's that actress's birthday.
- 37:58Speaker 1: That's why we do birthdays here in the Treehouse, because
- 38:00Speaker 1: you never know what's gonna happen. Hallie Bailey turns twenty
- 38:04Speaker 1: five Ariel in the live action Little Mermaid movie, and
- 38:07Speaker 1: she's also the younger half of Chloe x Halle. I
- 38:13Speaker 1: think that's like a Disney show that I obviously did
- 38:15Speaker 1: not watch, and I'm unfamiliar.
- 38:17Speaker 3: With m It's Hailey Bailey, by the way.
- 38:23Speaker 1: It's Haley. Yes, I know who she is and what
- 38:27Speaker 1: she looks like, but I cannot pronounce her name. My apologies.
- 38:30Speaker 1: It's spelled the same as Halle Berry.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Yes. But here's why I know this. I was doing
- 38:34Speaker 3: a show in Bastrop, Texas, and there was a girl
- 38:37Speaker 3: in the audience named Bailey. Hailey spelled the exact same way.
- 38:41Speaker 3: I'm not even making this up, So it's Hailey Bailey.
- 38:47Speaker 1: This is how we get people with new names. Well,
- 38:51Speaker 1: I like that name. Now, that's just flipping around. Yeah,
- 38:54Speaker 1: although I did that the other day. My wife was
- 38:56Speaker 1: listening to her music and the country artist Clay Walker
- 39:02Speaker 1: came on and I thought, you know what, if that
- 39:05Speaker 1: guy came out of Nashville today, they would change his
- 39:07Speaker 1: name to Walker.
- 39:08Speaker 3: Clay that's a better name. I like that.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it actually is kind of a better name, so
- 39:15Speaker 1: I understand the other birthdays today. Hailey Bailey twenty five.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Lisa is twenty eight, no last name, just Lisa. According
- 39:27Speaker 1: to my info here. She is a tie rapper and
- 39:29Speaker 1: member of the K pop group Black Pink. She's also
- 39:32Speaker 1: on White Lotus Season three, which I've heard is an
- 39:35Speaker 1: excellent show to watch. I don't know. I've not seen
- 39:37Speaker 1: any but it may be queued up for us on
- 39:41Speaker 1: the Hulu because someone told my wife that it's a
- 39:44Speaker 1: good show, and also because it I think season three
- 39:48Speaker 1: has Sam Rockwell, who I'm a really big fan of.
- 39:51Speaker 1: As an actor and Walter Goggins, who I'm also a
- 39:54Speaker 1: fan of as an actor, and his name came up
- 39:56Speaker 1: inside the show not that long ago because Trey was
- 39:59Speaker 1: telling me how amazing he is in the Righteous Gym
- 40:02Speaker 1: stones mm hmmm.
- 40:04Speaker 3: And uh, there's a lot of male nudity which is weird. Oh,
- 40:09Speaker 3: like you see Short Schwarzenegger's kid in his junk out.
- 40:15Speaker 1: Oh we get to see uh Patrick Schwarzenegger Schreiver. Yep, yeah,
- 40:31Speaker 1: good on him. Okay, now I'm I'm just gonna try
- 40:35Speaker 1: to push that showed farther down my cue. I really
- 40:41Speaker 1: need to see that. That's why someone told your wife,
- 40:44Speaker 1: is that what the white lotus is? It's Patrick Schwarzenegger's wiener.
- 40:53Speaker 3: Coming from India. Uh lotus not not very big, but
- 40:59Speaker 3: I mean it. I don't know, but there's a lot
- 41:01Speaker 3: of male nudity that happens in that, A lot of
- 41:04Speaker 3: junk out.
- 41:05Speaker 1: Okay, you know what I turn about is fair play.
- 41:08Speaker 1: We had a good run when going to the movies.
- 41:10Speaker 1: We saw lots of lots of lady parts. So I
- 41:13Speaker 1: guess I guess it's fair to to, you know, to
- 41:16Speaker 1: get some junk.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Yeah, and here it comes tree face.
- 41:29Speaker 2: I was being silent. I was just hoping for a
- 41:31Speaker 2: good sound bite from Dan.
- 41:35Speaker 1: That's why I stopped talking. I could feel it coming.

- 42:19Speaker 1: with Tray Trendhill, Mandros Sharma. Back inside the Treehouse. We
- 42:23Speaker 1: were talking earlier about the Disney remakes, more specifically the
- 42:28Speaker 1: snow White remake and how it's flopped at the box
- 42:31Speaker 1: office and people wondering, is it because of controversies in
- 42:36Speaker 1: pre production, production post production to have something to do
- 42:41Speaker 1: with an updated storyline? Is it because they took out
- 42:44Speaker 1: the Prince's character altogether? Is it something to do with
- 42:48Speaker 1: the politics of the Queen and snow White or Trey?
- 42:52Speaker 1: What's the other theory?
- 42:54Speaker 2: It was just a bad movie.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Maybe it just sucks.
- 42:57Speaker 2: I mean that the One of the theories is is
- 43:01Speaker 2: that for the most part, if you take out Marvel,
- 43:04Speaker 2: Disney has made nothing but crap for the last fifteen years.
- 43:08Speaker 2: They've had I mean, like about the Lion King live
- 43:10Speaker 2: action that was big, but you know, take away some
- 43:16Speaker 2: of the Star Wars shows not movies, and Marvel and
- 43:21Speaker 2: even MARV had some stinkers when it comes to shows,
- 43:23Speaker 2: and a couple of the movies, like Disney has not
- 43:27Speaker 2: been on a stellar run.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it's interesting when you think about that more in depth.
- 43:32Speaker 1: You're right, Trey, because with Disney's output over the last
- 43:36Speaker 1: twenty years, it looks a lot like Bambi on Ice
- 43:40Speaker 1: just fleep.
- 43:43Speaker 3: I don't watch any Disney movies. Being with my ex
- 43:48Speaker 3: I was around seven doors all the time, so.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Because her mom was a little all of them. Hi ho,
