- 0:00Speaker 1: What's going on, everybody. It's Jeff here.
- 0:02Speaker 2: I wanted to let you know we've recorded this Opposition
- 0:03Speaker 2: Territory podcast on Tuesday, November nineteenth, twenty twenty four. By
- 0:08Speaker 2: the time you hear this, some things may have changed
- 0:09Speaker 2: here or there, but we hope you enjoy the show.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Welcome to Opposition Territory here at the Philadelphia Sports Table
- 0:31Speaker 2: podcast show, the longest running weekly Philly sports podcast.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Show in the world, over eleven and a half year strong.
- 0:37Speaker 2: We've got a great discussion coming your way as we
- 0:39Speaker 2: preview the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams matchup that
- 0:44Speaker 2: we're gonna be seeing this coming Sunday night, Sunday Night Football.
- 0:47Speaker 1: That's right. We've got a high powered.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Offense in the Los Angeles Rams are gonna be taken
- 0:52Speaker 2: on the Philadelphia Eagles, who have had the number one
- 0:54Speaker 2: defense in the NFL over the past few weeks. It's
- 0:58Speaker 2: going to be a very interesting match for sure. We're
- 1:01Speaker 2: gonna get into a lot of storylines this week here
- 1:03Speaker 2: on Opposition Territory. We got a great guest, let's get
- 1:05Speaker 2: right to it, joining us now to get into this
- 1:08Speaker 2: preview show coming to us from fan Sided's Ramblin Fan.
- 1:13Speaker 1: He is a contributor over there.
- 1:15Speaker 2: He has been doing a lot of writing, a lot
- 1:17Speaker 2: of content creation with regard to the Los Angeles Rams
- 1:20Speaker 2: over the years.
- 1:21Speaker 1: You can find him on.
- 1:22Speaker 2: The Twitter slash x at Milroy Eagles Fan. We've got
- 1:26Speaker 2: the one and only Brett stewardter. How you doing, Brett?
- 1:29Speaker 3: Great, Jeff, how are you today?
- 1:30Speaker 2: I'm doing all right, man, Like I'm really looking forward
- 1:32Speaker 2: to this matchup. I said in my intro. We've got
- 1:35Speaker 2: a high powered offense in the Los Angeles Rams against
- 1:38Speaker 2: the Eagles defense, who is the number one defense in
- 1:41Speaker 2: the league over these past few weeks, And I think
- 1:44Speaker 2: it's just gonna be a tremendous, tremendous matchup. But I
- 1:47Speaker 2: really wanted to start our conversation here, Brett with the
- 1:50Speaker 2: quarterback position. We always get into the quarterback position here
- 1:53Speaker 2: on our Opposition Territory podcast, So I want to get
- 1:56Speaker 2: into Matt Stafford what we've seen from him this season.
- 1:59Speaker 2: As we're staring Week twelve. He moved into tenth in
- 2:03Speaker 2: all time passing touchdowns this past week against the Patriots.
- 2:07Speaker 2: He's certainly no spring chicken, as we all know, but
- 2:10Speaker 2: he's just a damn good quarterback in this league. His
- 2:13Speaker 2: ability to bounce back during in game situations when things
- 2:17Speaker 2: might not be going the Rams way or the offense's way.
- 2:20Speaker 2: You know, I've always viewed Matt Stafford as that guy who,
- 2:23Speaker 2: you know, Rams the Rams offense can count on. So
- 2:27Speaker 2: I'm wondering, how have you been viewing Matt Stafford's season
- 2:30Speaker 2: thus far? Maybe I'm able to expect from this week
- 2:33Speaker 2: against the Eagles.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Well, I think that the Stafford has been pretty inconsistent
- 2:40Speaker 4: this year. He has two games with four touchdowns, but
- 2:43Speaker 4: he also has or excuse me, two games with four touchdowns,
- 2:46Speaker 4: but he has four games with no touchdowns, which is
- 2:50Speaker 4: very unusual for Stafford. The problem with it so far
- 2:54Speaker 4: has been the fact that the Rams offensive line has
- 2:59Speaker 4: been a paleidoscope of iterations. They got hurt early in
- 3:04Speaker 4: the season, and without that firewall of protection for Stafford,
- 3:10Speaker 4: as the agency becomes more and more sensitive to pressure
- 3:14Speaker 4: and falling down going boom. So I think that a
- 3:18Speaker 4: lot of the early inconsistencies with the team and Stafford
- 3:23Speaker 4: has been due to those early season injuries. To sort
- 3:28Speaker 4: of emphasize the point when the Rams flipped to their
- 3:32Speaker 4: as many starter package as they could get assembled. For
- 3:36Speaker 4: Week ten, Stafford had a very bad game. He did
- 3:41Speaker 4: not score a touchdown.
- 3:42Speaker 3: The Eagles or the Rams ended up putting up five
- 3:45Speaker 3: field goals, and it was due to the fact that
- 3:48Speaker 3: they flipped to Jonah Jackson, the former Detroit Lions interior
- 3:54Speaker 3: offensive linemen. They reverted back to Bo Limmer, their rookie
- 4:00Speaker 3: sensation at center, and Stafford had another primetime Stafford game,
- 4:07Speaker 3: So he's highly competitive. As long as there's time on
- 4:10Speaker 3: the game flop, he and the Rams believes that he
- 4:14Speaker 3: can win the game. The trick for the Rams coaches
- 4:17Speaker 3: is they can't keep putting him into that come from
- 4:20Speaker 3: behind situate situation.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Right.
- 4:23Speaker 3: What I mean is that the Rams have to continue
- 4:26Speaker 3: to flex some offensive diversity, running the ball, getting some
- 4:31Speaker 3: two tight end formations out there, and calling plays to
- 4:34Speaker 3: get as many of the offensive skill players involved as possible.
- 4:39Speaker 3: That's the best way to keep Stafford at his best.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Yeah, because he does have weapons out there. He really
- 4:46Speaker 2: does have weapons in Cooper Cup and of course Pooka
- 4:49Speaker 2: Nakua as well, you know, getting into.
- 4:52Speaker 1: The line a little bit more.
- 4:54Speaker 2: The Rams offensive line, they didn't allow a sack this
- 4:57Speaker 2: past week against the Patriots. It was their third time
- 5:00Speaker 2: doing so. In the last four games. The rushing attack
- 5:04Speaker 2: average three point I'm sorry, five point three five yards
- 5:08Speaker 2: per carry. There have certainly been some ups and downs
- 5:11Speaker 2: with this Rams offensive line, Like you were just talking
- 5:13Speaker 2: about Brett, But how do you think they're going to
- 5:16Speaker 2: stack up against an Eagles defensive line who is who's
- 5:19Speaker 2: been playing much better over these past five weeks, especially
- 5:23Speaker 2: with a dominant Jalen Carter As of late, Nolan Smith
- 5:26Speaker 2: has been, you know, getting some sacks and getting some
- 5:29Speaker 2: pressure as well. We've been seeing it from Josh Sweat
- 5:32Speaker 2: to how do you think this offensive line with the
- 5:35Speaker 2: Rams is going to stack up against this Eagles defensive
- 5:38Speaker 2: line of the pressure they're gonna want to put on
- 5:40Speaker 2: Matt Stafford, I.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Think, in all honesty, the Week twelve matchup between the
- 5:46Speaker 3: Rams offensive line and the Eagles defensive line is going
- 5:50Speaker 3: to be a one of those classic cases of set
- 5:55Speaker 3: the record button and just sit back and watch. I
- 5:58Speaker 3: think that it's going to be one of the best
- 6:01Speaker 3: clashes in the NFL that they can offer this season.
- 6:05Speaker 3: The Rams offensive line, when they get comfortable and they
- 6:08Speaker 3: are communicating, can be really effective. They did not allow
- 6:12Speaker 3: a sack against the Minnesota Vikings despite having some backups
- 6:16Speaker 3: in there. But to achieve that feat, they really leaned
- 6:21Speaker 3: heavily into their twelve personnel. The problem with it is
- 6:24Speaker 3: is that Rams head coach Sean McVay really is reluctant
- 6:29Speaker 3: to go with two tight ends, as he believes that
- 6:32Speaker 3: the Rams offer a more dangerous and versatile offense with
- 6:35Speaker 3: eleven personnel. But whenever, here's a curious fun fact, whenever
- 6:40Speaker 3: the Rams go with more than fifty percent twelve personnel package,
- 6:44Speaker 3: they win the game. Unusual for with that kind of
- 6:50Speaker 3: statistic that the Rams went with eleven personnel almost the
- 6:54Speaker 3: entire game in Week eleven against the Patriots. Have a
- 7:01Speaker 3: very physical, successful team on both sides of the line
- 7:05Speaker 3: of scrimmage, both defense and offense. So I really have
- 7:08Speaker 3: to believe that the Rams coming into the game have
- 7:11Speaker 3: to I always call for it, they'd ever do it,
- 7:16Speaker 3: but I really believe they have to go with twelfth
- 7:18Speaker 3: tight twelfth tight end package. Yeah, in this one, they
- 7:24Speaker 3: just need to have more blocking up front. As far
- 7:28Speaker 3: as defensive tackle, Jalen carter I recall on twenty twenty
- 7:31Speaker 3: three that he really got the best of interior offensive
- 7:34Speaker 3: lineman Steve Avila in that one when they clashed. But
- 7:38Speaker 3: I think that this year Avilla is good to come
- 7:40Speaker 3: into the game a little fresher, certainly a lot more experienced,
- 7:44Speaker 3: has a better feel for the game, and, as is
- 7:46Speaker 3: often the case, beat me once, the next time I
- 7:49Speaker 3: get the best of you. So I think Avila will
- 7:51Speaker 3: match up better this time. I also think that the
- 7:55Speaker 3: fact that the Rams are going with center Bow Limmer,
- 7:58Speaker 3: who is as strong as a non yeah, and has
- 8:01Speaker 3: really showcased some good form despite being drafted in round six,
- 8:06Speaker 3: I think that he's going to have a really good
- 8:09Speaker 3: game in this one too. Limber was able to handle
- 8:13Speaker 3: Seahawks rookie defensive tax sensation Byron Murphy, so I think
- 8:19Speaker 3: that he has a pretty good chance of doing well
- 8:22Speaker 3: in this game as well.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be really interesting to see the matchups
- 8:26Speaker 2: here in the trenches for sure. And I mentioned the
- 8:31Speaker 2: Rams receivers. They certainly have weapons in their receiver room again, Pooka, Akua,
- 8:37Speaker 2: Cooper Cup. You know, they have some very skilled running
- 8:40Speaker 2: backs as well. So I'm wondering Brett like from what
- 8:43Speaker 2: you've seen this season and based on the type of
- 8:45Speaker 2: matchup we're going to be watching this Sunday night. You know,
- 8:50Speaker 2: I guess, like, what has the balance been like between
- 8:52Speaker 2: the passing and rushing game for the Rams? What might
- 8:56Speaker 2: we expect here in Week twelve based on what that
- 8:59Speaker 2: balance might actually look like.
- 9:02Speaker 3: You know, that's a very good question. And I was
- 9:06Speaker 3: surprised when I took a look at the balance so
- 9:08Speaker 3: far this year in that the Rams are playing fifty
- 9:12Speaker 3: nine fifty eight of the time passing, which jumped out
- 9:18Speaker 3: at me because I actually expected to see that somewhere
- 9:21Speaker 3: around two thirds passing. It seems like the Rams offense
- 9:24Speaker 3: is always trying to play ketchup this season, and as
- 9:27Speaker 3: a result, they have gone with a very pass centric
- 9:31Speaker 3: put the hand the ball in the hands of quarterback
- 9:34Speaker 3: Matthew Stafford. The Eagles play tough both with the pass
- 9:41Speaker 3: and the run. So I'm going to be curious to
- 9:44Speaker 3: see how the Rams strategize trying to keep them all balanced,
- 9:49Speaker 3: because I don't think they can go the Rams can
- 9:51Speaker 3: go into this game trying to slug it out, So
- 9:55Speaker 3: I have to believe that the DRAMs are going to try
- 9:57Speaker 3: to do a good job of balancing. Of course, saying
- 10:01Speaker 3: that if the Rams fall behind or if they have
- 10:06Speaker 3: any effective running game, you can expect them to go
- 10:08Speaker 3: very past entry. So the hope is that the Rams
- 10:14Speaker 3: either pull ahead or they stay very close, and that
- 10:17Speaker 3: will give them a chance to sort of toggle between
- 10:21Speaker 3: run and past. And I think that's going to be
- 10:23Speaker 3: key to a Ram victory. Although this is gonna be
- 10:27Speaker 3: one of their toughest matchups of the season.
- 10:29Speaker 1: It probably will. Yeah, yea.
- 10:32Speaker 3: The Eagles defenses, I mean, there's there's very few things
- 10:35Speaker 3: that they allow right now, right and so the only
- 10:39Speaker 3: way that the Rams are going to have any success
- 10:43Speaker 3: with them is to fold them as opposed to beating
- 10:46Speaker 3: into the punch or you know, outplaying them.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Exactly. Tell you, Vic Fangio. He's got this Eagles defense
- 10:53Speaker 2: doing some wonders over these past few weeks, for sure,
- 10:56Speaker 2: at all three levels, whether it's the pass rush, linebacker,
- 11:00Speaker 2: and the secondary for sure. And again, folks, just want
- 11:03Speaker 2: to let you know again we're talking to Brett Stooter
- 11:06Speaker 2: from Ramblin Fan. We love the fan sided site over there.
- 11:10Speaker 2: You can catch him on the Twitter slash x at
- 11:13Speaker 2: Milroy Eagles Fan. He's a great, great follow and moving
- 11:17Speaker 2: ahead here with our discussion, you recently wrote a story
- 11:21Speaker 2: Brett about how the RAMS secondary is giving up season
- 11:25Speaker 2: high performances to offensive rookies and how that's kind of
- 11:30Speaker 2: becoming a habit. With regard to this RAMS secondary, the
- 11:34Speaker 2: RAMS pass defense is ranked twenty second in the NFL.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I'm wondering if you think the Eagles offensive weapons in
- 11:41Speaker 2: aj Brown and DeVante Smith, even though they're not rookies,
- 11:44Speaker 2: are really going to be able to exploit this RAMS
- 11:46Speaker 2: secondary at this point in the season based on what
- 11:49Speaker 2: you've seen, based on the stats here, And if so,
- 11:53Speaker 2: what should we be keeping our eyes on as we're
- 11:56Speaker 2: approaching this particular game.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Well, you know, anytime a team faces the Eagles, I
- 12:03Speaker 3: think that the defensive coordinators have to kind of star
- 12:06Speaker 3: Saquon Barkley as a got to stop him.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 12:10Speaker 3: And one of the fears that I have with the Eagles,
- 12:15Speaker 3: I don't want to call it shaky pass defense, but
- 12:17Speaker 3: it's a subpar pass defense, is that they'll over commit
- 12:21Speaker 3: to stopping the run, which will allow the Eagles passing
- 12:25Speaker 3: game to go kind of ape crazy on them. So,
- 12:30Speaker 3: but one of the things that the Rams have done
- 12:32Speaker 3: this year is that they've thrown a lot of weight
- 12:33Speaker 3: behind getting some ballhawking defensive backs the season. While it's
- 12:39Speaker 3: been a working process, they basically threw out everybody who
- 12:42Speaker 3: started last year and started over. The defense has really
- 12:46Speaker 3: been dependent upon a strong pass rush and then forcing
- 12:52Speaker 3: quarterbacks to make mistakes, which the then the ball hawking
- 12:55Speaker 3: defensive backs can key in on. If the Rams can
- 13:00Speaker 3: get to the quarterback, and that's a big if the
- 13:03Speaker 3: secondary has a knack for picking off passes. In fact,
- 13:07Speaker 3: the Rams defense has scored at one point, scored in
- 13:11Speaker 3: four consecutive games, one fumble recovery for a touchdown, two
- 13:15Speaker 3: pick six's, and a safety. So the defenses that proverbial
- 13:21Speaker 3: bend not break defense. The New Orleans Saints had made
- 13:27Speaker 3: that famous at one point. I don't know if you
- 13:29Speaker 3: remember back in the eighty seventies. Oh yeah, they were
- 13:31Speaker 3: really famous for that, you know, giving up five hundred yards,
- 13:34Speaker 3: but they always won the game. And that seems to
- 13:38Speaker 3: be the direction that the Rams are trying to head to.
- 13:42Speaker 3: They do have the ability to shut down a single
- 13:46Speaker 3: wide receiver. The problem with the Rams secondary is that
- 13:50Speaker 3: I don't know that you can say that same thing
- 13:52Speaker 3: about a second good wide receiver. Seems to be their
- 13:55Speaker 3: Achilles Heel and so for the equals, I'm guessing that
- 14:00Speaker 3: Jante Smith would be the player that if I was
- 14:03Speaker 3: a Fantasy football GM, I would pick to have a
- 14:06Speaker 3: big game, because I think that the Rams will view
- 14:10Speaker 3: a G. Brown as the more dangerous of the two.
- 14:13Speaker 3: But I think DeVante Smith could have one of those
- 14:16Speaker 3: season high games which the Rams are infamously famous for surrendering.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Yeah, from your lips to God's ears, I'll say, because
- 14:24Speaker 2: I've got Davante Smith in a couple of fantasy football
- 14:26Speaker 2: leagues and over the past couple of weeks hasn't produced
- 14:28Speaker 2: much for me, but he's definitely got that breakout game
- 14:31Speaker 2: that's right around the corner.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Brett Oh, I'd started in this one, and that again,
- 14:36Speaker 3: that only that only works if the Rams can stop
- 14:40Speaker 3: running back Saquon Barkley, which no defense has been able
- 14:43Speaker 3: to yet this season.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Absolutely, Well, let's get into some matchups here, buddy, because
- 14:49Speaker 2: you know, as we as we ask our opposition territory
- 14:52Speaker 2: guests every week, we like to look at, you know,
- 14:55Speaker 2: where the concerns may be for you from an offensive
- 14:58Speaker 2: and defensive standpoint in terms of the Rams here. So
- 15:03Speaker 2: let's start off with the Rams offensive matchups against the
- 15:06Speaker 2: Eagles defense, and your biggest concern What is your biggest
- 15:09Speaker 2: concern with any of the offensive matchups against this Eagles
- 15:14Speaker 2: defense here?
- 15:16Speaker 3: I think we touched base on it earlier. I think
- 15:18Speaker 3: that the probably the toughest matchup and the one that
- 15:22Speaker 3: I'm most interested in trying to follow throughout the game
- 15:25Speaker 3: is going to be that Eagles defensive line and how
- 15:29Speaker 3: they handle the Rams offensive line.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Yeah, the trenches.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that that's going to be a big
- 15:38Speaker 3: decision point for how the Rams do. If they go
- 15:42Speaker 3: with a twelve personnel, I think that they can get
- 15:44Speaker 3: some ground yards and with that in mind, then they
- 15:48Speaker 3: can flip to the play action pass. But if they
- 15:53Speaker 3: come up, you know, with Goose eggs running the ball
- 15:55Speaker 3: against Eagles defense, it's going to be a long afternoon.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Okay, Well, on the flip side of the coin. And
- 16:00Speaker 2: what's the biggest concern with any of the Rams defensive
- 16:03Speaker 2: matchups against this Eagles offense. I think we've probably touched
- 16:07Speaker 2: on some of these, But what's the biggest concern with
- 16:09Speaker 2: regard to the Rams defensive matchups against Eagles offense?
- 16:13Speaker 3: You know, you have to put the saquon Barkley at
- 16:16Speaker 3: the center of that bullseye. Not only is he an
- 16:20Speaker 3: outstanding runner, but he's also an incredible pass receiver, and
- 16:25Speaker 3: I fear that the Rams, even if they can stop
- 16:29Speaker 3: him on the ground, I'm concerned that the Rams linebackers
- 16:34Speaker 3: will have a challenge trying to past cover him on
- 16:38Speaker 3: those you know, big gains, and he seems to deliver
- 16:41Speaker 3: on weekend and week out. I do like the fact
- 16:46Speaker 3: that the Rams did flip to an undrafted inside linebacker
- 16:50Speaker 3: Omar Spates out of LSU, and I do hope that
- 16:56Speaker 3: his early success at stopping the run can carry over
- 17:01Speaker 3: into this game. If he gets ahead of steam up,
- 17:04Speaker 3: I think he can stuff Barkley on a couple of
- 17:08Speaker 3: those runs, and you know, we'll see how it works out.
- 17:12Speaker 3: But as I said, even if the Rams shut down Barkley,
- 17:17Speaker 3: DeVante Smith is going to be a huge factor for
- 17:21Speaker 3: the Rams, and I'm not sure that they can match
- 17:23Speaker 3: up to cover both aj Brown and Smith in this one.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's going to be interesting to see for sure,
- 17:30Speaker 2: so Brett before but I'd let you go, Buddy. We
- 17:33Speaker 2: like to talk about sneaky players for US Eagles fans
- 17:37Speaker 2: to look out for. With regard to the other teams.
- 17:39Speaker 2: So I'm wondering, who is your sneaky player for US
- 17:43Speaker 2: Eagles fans look out for on the Rams offense this
- 17:46Speaker 2: coming week here in Week twelve.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I have to go with a wide receiver Pooka Nakuak
- 17:51Speaker 3: all right. And the reason why he's not he's not
- 17:53Speaker 3: so much as a like an under the radar kind
- 17:55Speaker 3: of player, but I think he's better than a lot
- 17:58Speaker 3: of people expect until they play him. And the reason
- 18:01Speaker 3: why is that he's got the kind of the body
- 18:04Speaker 3: and the blocking ability of a tight end. He has
- 18:07Speaker 3: the smooth, grateful route running of a wide receiver, and
- 18:11Speaker 3: he has a head of steam and yards after the
- 18:13Speaker 3: catch like a full bet yep. So if he gets
- 18:16Speaker 3: his hands on the football, he can do some damage.
- 18:19Speaker 3: And that proved out against the Patriots on a number
- 18:22Speaker 3: of plays. In fact, he was both he and Cooper
- 18:26Speaker 3: Cup put up one hundred yards over one hundred yards
- 18:29Speaker 3: against the Patriots secondary. I don't know how the Eagles
- 18:35Speaker 3: will prioritize the receivers, but whoever, they don't give their
- 18:41Speaker 3: dB one two. I think that between Nicula or Cup,
- 18:46Speaker 3: I think they may have a good game.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Okay, sounds good, have you?
- 18:49Speaker 2: Darius Lay has been playing some good, good football, and
- 18:53Speaker 2: as we know, Quinnon Mitchell as well has also been
- 18:55Speaker 2: playing some good football. These matchups, I think are going
- 18:58Speaker 2: to be incredible this week here on Sunday nights. So
- 19:02Speaker 2: finish us out here on the other side of the coin. Here,
- 19:05Speaker 2: who's your sneaky player for US Eagles fans to look
- 19:07Speaker 2: out for on the Rams defense? Here?
- 19:10Speaker 1: Who is that person?
- 19:11Speaker 3: Well, I'd like to say one, but I'm going to
- 19:14Speaker 3: use my option of going with four row today. That
- 19:22Speaker 3: rookie outside linebacker Jared Verse is the He's a defensive
- 19:27Speaker 3: equivalent to Matthew Stafford. He's very competitive, he's super strong,
- 19:31Speaker 3: plays the edge like a veteran outside linebacker, and he
- 19:35Speaker 3: has this amazing bull rush which is going to be
- 19:40Speaker 3: a huge cask to stop. I know that the Eagles
- 19:43Speaker 3: have two of the best offensive tackles in the NFL,
- 19:48Speaker 3: But like I have been saying so far, I really
- 19:51Speaker 3: want to record this game because I think there are
- 19:54Speaker 3: real case studies to be had in the postgame analysis
- 19:59Speaker 3: between how the lines of scrimmage between the two teams
- 20:03Speaker 3: sort of play out. Right now, VERSU is trailing in
- 20:07Speaker 3: the quarterback sack quarter quarterback sack category on the Rams defense.
- 20:12Speaker 3: So I think that he's gonna have a little bit
- 20:15Speaker 3: of extra motivation and try to move around on the
- 20:18Speaker 3: defensive front to try to get that deficit into taking
- 20:23Speaker 3: lead over for the team. Another guy is nose tackle
- 20:28Speaker 3: Kobe Turner. While he is not the Aaron Donnell replacement
- 20:34Speaker 3: that some had hoped, he still is incredibly powerful. He
- 20:38Speaker 3: moves like a cat. He has a ninja likability to
- 20:41Speaker 3: split and defeat double teams, and if the Eagles try
- 20:46Speaker 3: to throw a double team at some other defender, he
- 20:49Speaker 3: can really do some damage on stopping to run, terrorizing
- 20:53Speaker 3: the quarterback. I did talk about the undrafted rookie Omar states, Yep.
- 21:00Speaker 3: He reminds me of the old Eagles throwback Bill Bergie
- 21:03Speaker 3: or Jeremiah Trotter, and that he has a real physicality
- 21:07Speaker 3: about him. He almost plays like he's pissed off, you know.
- 21:11Speaker 3: And I love those kind of linebackers because you know,
- 21:14Speaker 3: when it comes to hard hitting stuffing to run, diving
- 21:17Speaker 3: into the hole, getting up ahead of steam, and meeting
- 21:19Speaker 3: the running back, he covers all those check boxes. So
- 21:25Speaker 3: if they had to have any chance of stopping Barkley,
- 21:28Speaker 3: and you know, flip a coin on that one. I
- 21:30Speaker 3: think that Spakes has to have a sensational game, not
- 21:33Speaker 3: just a good one, a sensational one, okay. And then finally,
- 21:37Speaker 3: I really like rookie defensive back Cameron Kitchens, who was
- 21:42Speaker 3: drafted out of the University of Miami. He's already showing
- 21:46Speaker 3: up as a ballhawking defense. He's got three interceptions, one
- 21:50Speaker 3: of those was a pick six, and hopefully if the
- 21:54Speaker 3: Rams pass rush can put a little pressure on Hurts
- 21:59Speaker 3: if he even though he doesn't throw many interceptions, if
- 22:02Speaker 3: he makes any mistakes, Kinchinz is going to be there
- 22:05Speaker 3: to make him pay. But of course that also means
- 22:10Speaker 3: that the Rams pass rush has to keep Hurt in
- 22:14Speaker 3: the pocket, which is going to be a very difficult thing.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Unto itself.
- 22:18Speaker 1: That'll be a challenge.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so you know, there's four defensive
- 22:24Speaker 3: I'm not sure if any of them will show up,
- 22:27Speaker 3: but I figure if I threw four, it'll be like
- 22:29Speaker 3: bud against the board, something found the stick.
- 22:32Speaker 1: There you go, There you go, folks.
