- 0:00Speaker 1: The twenty twenty six NBA Draft is going to draw
- 0:02Speaker 1: some insane comparisons to what NBA stars have been in
- 0:05Speaker 1: the past, because when you're looking at these guys top
- 0:07Speaker 1: to bottom, they can really become something special. So today
- 0:10Speaker 1: I wanted to give you guys my top draft prospect
- 0:13Speaker 1: player comps for the twenty twenty six draft class. This
- 0:16Speaker 1: is the NBA Draft Board powered by aws AWSAI is
- 0:20Speaker 1: how the NBA brings fans inside the game.
- 0:23Speaker 2: So we're going to start.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Off at the top with Aja Debonsa, who has definitely
- 0:26Speaker 1: drawn some wild comparisons in the NBA.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I'm going to go with Jalen Brown.
- 0:30Speaker 1: He's gotten thrown out, like Tersey McGrady a little bit
- 0:33Speaker 1: in the past, but I think Jalen Brown is a
- 0:35Speaker 1: perfect com and I'm not saying he's going to be
- 0:37Speaker 1: exactly Jyalen Brown. I'm not saying these prospects are all
- 0:39Speaker 1: going to become what these comps are, But Jalen Brown
- 0:43Speaker 1: reminds me of Ajdavonsa and vice versa, where Ajabonsa is
- 0:46Speaker 1: somebody that could score at the mid range, kind of
- 0:47Speaker 1: how Jaylen Brown was able to do at cal and
- 0:50Speaker 1: early in his career at Boston, Jaylen Brown definitely took
- 0:53Speaker 1: time to develop for somebody that was going to finish
- 0:55Speaker 1: around the rim, draw contact around the rim, and that
- 0:57Speaker 1: might be the same thing with Aj Debonsa out of
- 1:00Speaker 1: the gate, and AJ also, i think needs to work
- 1:02Speaker 1: on maybe how to attack double teams and how to
- 1:04Speaker 1: not turn the ball over, something that's kind of been
- 1:06Speaker 1: around Jalen Brown's game throughout his career. But you're looking
- 1:09Speaker 1: at this hyper athletic wing that could eventually score at
- 1:12Speaker 1: all three levels, and he's somebody that you could build
- 1:15Speaker 1: your team around at the next level. And hey, Jalen
- 1:17Speaker 1: Brown was a Finals MVP, so this is not a
- 1:19Speaker 1: bad comblesoever. So next up, we have Cam Boozer, pretty
- 1:22Speaker 1: much the best big in this draft class, and I'm
- 1:24Speaker 1: comparing him to Kevin Love, somebody that's not the most athletic,
- 1:27Speaker 1: not the quickest, maybe not even the strongest, but he's
- 1:30Speaker 1: going to win with his basketball IQ. He can operate
- 1:33Speaker 1: at the post as an offensive hub, he could space
- 1:35Speaker 1: the floor, he's going to be a tremendous rebounder out
- 1:38Speaker 1: of the gate, and he's somebody that's gonna be able
- 1:40Speaker 1: to find guys in the corners out of the short role.
- 1:42Speaker 1: If you remember, Kevin Love in his early days in
- 1:44Speaker 1: Minnesota was an absolute machine.
- 1:46Speaker 2: He'd get double doubles left and right.
- 1:48Speaker 1: You could look up the box score, be twenty and
- 1:50Speaker 1: ten here, twenty and ten there, and then Cam Boozer
- 1:52Speaker 1: could be somebody that could eventually get to that twenty
- 1:55Speaker 1: and ten threshold but also get a decent amount of
- 1:57Speaker 1: assists per night as well with his court vision, with
- 2:00Speaker 1: his basketball IQ.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I like this comple lomp because I actually.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Think Cameron Boozer is going to turn into a really
- 2:05Speaker 1: good shooter during NBA game speed. So now let's go
- 2:08Speaker 1: to the awsh stashboard where kam Busier tested out extremely
- 2:11Speaker 1: well at the combine eight in three quarter hand length
- 2:14Speaker 1: nine and three quarter hand with six.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Foot eight and a quarter without shoes.
- 2:18Speaker 1: He had a seven to one and a half wing
- 2:19Speaker 1: span and he was able to run the shuttle run
- 2:21Speaker 1: in two point nine to nine seconds, which put him
- 2:24Speaker 1: kind of in the middle of the pack as well
- 2:26Speaker 1: in the lane agility drill eleven point zero six seconds.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Good measure of speed and height for somebody that you
- 2:31Speaker 1: want at the modern day power forward position. And when
- 2:34Speaker 1: you look at Cameron Boozer's lane agility time. He actually
- 2:36Speaker 1: was right there with Keaton Wagor, a guard Aga DeVonta
- 2:39Speaker 1: who we just talked about who's more of a wing.
- 2:41Speaker 1: He even ran it faster than Tonde Yesafu, Kuram Lopez,
- 2:45Speaker 1: Darren Peterson, Cao Bolson goes to show you that Cam
- 2:48Speaker 1: Boozer is not slow.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Whatsoever on the basketball court.
- 2:50Speaker 1: And now let's go to Darren Peterson and I feel
- 2:52Speaker 1: like there's so many different guard comps that you can
- 2:55Speaker 1: put one to one to Peterson. I actually ended up
- 2:57Speaker 1: going with Devin Booker. He reminds me a little bit
- 2:59Speaker 1: of younger Devin Booker out of Kentucky, where Booker didn't
- 3:02Speaker 1: really put up the stats at Kentucky that year because
- 3:05Speaker 1: he was kind of coming.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Off the bench for the Wildcats.
- 3:07Speaker 1: But Booker over time was able to become this dynamic
- 3:10Speaker 1: athlete at the guard position. He was able to become
- 3:12Speaker 1: a three bubble scorer. I think Peterson is going to
- 3:14Speaker 1: show some of the defensive ability that Booker had eventually
- 3:18Speaker 1: later in his career. But Peterson could show that right
- 3:20Speaker 1: out of the gate point of attack, anticipating passing lanes,
- 3:23Speaker 1: there's Definitely some other guards out there like Donovan Mitchell,
- 3:26Speaker 1: Anthony Edwards, even Kobe Bryant that have been thrown around
- 3:29Speaker 1: in comms in regards to Darren Peterson, but I think
- 3:32Speaker 1: he's going to be able to play the one or
- 3:33Speaker 1: the two kind of like Devin Booker has had throughout
- 3:36Speaker 1: his career.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Whatever you need him to do, he can be out there.
- 3:39Speaker 1: And I think Darren Peterson could actually be one of
- 3:41Speaker 1: the best guards in the NBA like Devin Booker became.
- 3:44Speaker 2: And then for KILEL. Wilson, I think.
- 3:45Speaker 1: He's a very interesting guy to draw comps too, because
- 3:48Speaker 1: you're looking at the athleticism, the raw offense, but the
- 3:51Speaker 1: defensive highlight reel. I think it's Jaron Jackson Junior, especially
- 3:55Speaker 1: when Triple J was coming out of Michigan State. Hey,
- 3:57Speaker 1: he went fourth overall in a loaded twenty eighteen NBA draft,
- 4:01Speaker 1: cale Wilson might go fourth overall in a loaded twenty.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Twenty six MBA draft.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Where you look at how he can anticipate weak side blocks,
- 4:08Speaker 1: how he can run in transition as a defender and
- 4:10Speaker 1: get a chase down block. He can help, he could
- 4:12Speaker 1: recover extremely well. He's super fluid for somebody at his size,
- 4:16Speaker 1: you definitely need to be patient with the offensive game,
- 4:18Speaker 1: though there's gonna be a lot of maybe bad shots
- 4:20Speaker 1: inside the paint and we'll see how that three point
- 4:22Speaker 1: shot develops. Obviously for Triple Jay, it developed extremely well
- 4:26Speaker 1: because this archetype is coveted in the NBA, given what
- 4:29Speaker 1: he just went for at the deadline, the contract he's on.
- 4:32Speaker 1: So this would be a great outcome for Caleb Wilson.
- 4:34Speaker 1: And now let's go to Keaton Woggo at number five.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I think a polarizing prospect because he's not gonna be
- 4:39Speaker 1: eye pomping with his athleticism, but the production can speak
- 4:42Speaker 1: for itself. Reminds me a little bit of Tyres Haliburton
- 4:45Speaker 1: out of Iowa State.
- 4:46Speaker 2: When you look at these two. I'm not saying that.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Keton Wogla's gonna have the court vision of Tyres Haliburton,
- 4:50Speaker 1: but he plays more of a slow, methodical pace than
- 4:53Speaker 1: how he did coming out of Iowa State and early
- 4:55Speaker 1: in his career in Sacramento, where it's just like, how
- 4:57Speaker 1: does it work? I don't know, but he gets it done.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And that's what Wager can do with his footwork. He
- 5:02Speaker 1: could do that with kind of his timing and his
- 5:04Speaker 1: patience and his acceleration and deceleration when he's driving towards
- 5:08Speaker 1: the basket. I think he could be a good enough
- 5:10Speaker 1: shooter to resemble a little bit of Halley before he
- 5:12Speaker 1: had that forty percent leap early in his Pacers career.
- 5:16Speaker 1: But I do think you're looking at a combo guard
- 5:18Speaker 1: that could see the floor. Well, that's not going to
- 5:20Speaker 1: be the best athlete on the court, but could definitely
- 5:22Speaker 1: make up for it in other ways. And now let's
- 5:24Speaker 1: go here to dari Say Cuff, one of my favorite
- 5:26Speaker 1: prospects in this drift. A Cuff was labeled as maybe
- 5:28Speaker 1: a smaller guard throughout the collegiate season. He definitely played
- 5:32Speaker 1: up more than that. He had a plus plus wingspan
- 5:33Speaker 1: at the combine. I like the Darren Williams comp because
- 5:36Speaker 1: when you watch Darren Williams at Illinois, he's somebody that
- 5:39Speaker 1: was maybe labeled as somewhat of a smaller guard as well,
- 5:41Speaker 1: but he looked way bigger than that. Darren Williams, the
- 5:44Speaker 1: Fawn Marlbury guys in that range. A Cuff definitely shows
- 5:47Speaker 1: the physicality the strength to be able to play way
- 5:50Speaker 1: bigger than somebody that's six' to two out. There he
- 5:52Speaker 1: could finish over taller guys around the. Rim he's quicker
- 5:55Speaker 1: than guys on the, perimeter and he's a great shooter right,
- 5:58Speaker 1: now AND i think that's going to absolutely translate to
- 6:01Speaker 1: the next. LEVEL i Believe akuff is the next Cow,
- 6:04Speaker 1: disciple AND i think he could actually be a better
- 6:06Speaker 1: player Than Darren, williams which is a really impressive. Comparison
- 6:10Speaker 1: now it's time for The Prospect profile of The week
- 6:12Speaker 1: powered BY, aws and that's going to Be DARIUS. A.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Koff at The, combine he ran the fastest three quarter.
- 6:18Speaker 2: SPRINT i kind of joked about.
- 6:20Speaker 1: It in another, Lifetime darisayacuff could have been an all
- 6:22Speaker 1: pro corner because he's going to be able to beat
- 6:24Speaker 1: guys in transition in the half court with his.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Speed he ran it faster than anybody at the.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Combine also having a ninety eight and a half standing
- 6:31Speaker 1: reach a wingspan of six foot six and a.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Half as, well really impressed scouts at the.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Combine and then when you look At darisacuff compared to everybody,
- 6:38Speaker 1: else he ran three point zero six, seconds just edging
- 6:41Speaker 1: Out Philly, richmond who ended up going back to, school
- 6:43Speaker 1: was quicker than some other guards that are going to
- 6:45Speaker 1: be in the top, ten Like Kingston, flemings maybe Le Baron,
- 6:48Speaker 1: Filon Darren peterson and. Others and then one of my
- 6:51Speaker 1: favorite comps series is going to Be Kingston flemings compared
- 6:53Speaker 1: To Mike.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Conley somebody that's not going to vowue.
- 6:56Speaker 1: With their offensive, games somebody that's not probably going to
- 6:58Speaker 1: average thirty points or even twenty five points at the next,
- 7:02Speaker 1: level but.
- 7:02Speaker 2: He's going to get it. Done he's going to be
- 7:04Speaker 2: a winning player out.
- 7:05Speaker 1: There he's going to be a really solid defender Like
- 7:07Speaker 1: Mike conley was throughout his career In memphis and even
- 7:10Speaker 1: In minnesota And. Utah he's going to be able to
- 7:12Speaker 1: be a good three point. Shooter he's going to make
- 7:14Speaker 1: the right. Reads he's not going to lose his team
- 7:16Speaker 1: games at the end of the. Day he's going to
- 7:18Speaker 1: be a high floor. Player AND i actually love this
- 7:20Speaker 1: comp Between Mike conley And Kingston. Flemings and speaking of
- 7:23Speaker 1: guys that could be winning players at the next, Level
- 7:25Speaker 1: Brandon BARRY'S i think he can be the ultimate glue.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Guy and you know who's the most ultimate glue guy right?
- 7:30Speaker 1: Now Derek white of The Boston celtics also another player
- 7:33Speaker 1: that may never average eighteen points per, game but he's
- 7:36Speaker 1: going to make the right. Reads he's going to take
- 7:38Speaker 1: the toughest assignment defensively on the. Perimeter he's going to
- 7:41Speaker 1: die for loose. Balls he's going to crash the glass
- 7:43Speaker 1: on the offensive. End on the defensive, end it's probably
- 7:45Speaker 1: going to come up with some clutch rebounds Like Derek
- 7:47Speaker 1: white has done over the last few years with The Boston.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Celtics so you're not Drafting Braydon burry's to be An
- 7:53Speaker 1: All star. Guard if you ever reached that, outcome, hey
- 7:55Speaker 1: you're playing with als money at that. Point BUT i
- 7:57Speaker 1: do think you're going to get somebody that's going to
- 7:59Speaker 1: be an absolute Flour and now let's look here at
- 8:01Speaker 1: THE aws. Dashboard But Brandon burry's another guard that tested
- 8:05Speaker 1: well at the, combine somebody that really kind of was
- 8:07Speaker 1: eye popping with his speed and definitely his max vertical
- 8:10Speaker 1: leap of thirty eight and a half inches for somebody
- 8:13Speaker 1: that measured in at six foot three and three quarters without.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Choose and then if.
- 8:17Speaker 1: We look at his max vertical leap as, well it's
- 8:19Speaker 1: right in the range of some freak athletes in this,
- 8:22Speaker 1: class Like Caleb, wilson Like Morris johnson thirty and a
- 8:25Speaker 1: half inches, there measured in number eighteen at the, combine
- 8:29Speaker 1: a little bit ahead of guys that are like, bigger,
- 8:32Speaker 1: Stronger zubhi, Four, corimbopez Tond. Yesafu so really impressive From
- 8:36Speaker 1: Braiden burry's and now let's go To Mickel Brown junior's
- 8:38Speaker 1: comp at THE nba. LEVEL i ended up going With Malik,
- 8:41Speaker 1: monk and if you, Remember Malik monk was maybe the
- 8:43Speaker 1: best offensive player on That kentucky team in that twenty seventeen.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Season, yeah better Than Daron, fox better than Bam.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Outifayo, now maybe we didn't reach the best possible outcome
- 8:52Speaker 1: Of Malik monk's.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Career but Mckel Brown junior can be a microwave.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Scorer he's somebody that could just drop maybe three threes
- 8:58Speaker 1: in eight possessions and completely swing a. Game BECAUSE i
- 9:01Speaker 1: do believe that he could be one of the best
- 9:03Speaker 1: shooters in this draft. Class he also has the size
- 9:05Speaker 1: of being a one or the two if you. Want
- 9:07Speaker 1: at the next. Level the defense is definitely a work in,
- 9:09Speaker 1: progress like it was For.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Malik munk coming out Of.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Kentucky BUT i do think that McCall Brown junior could
- 9:14Speaker 1: end up actually being a better shooter than What Malik
- 9:16Speaker 1: monk was and, height that's one of the better shooters
- 9:18Speaker 1: in the. League and then, lastly let's go To Jackson,
- 9:21Speaker 1: lenneborg who's a little bit on the older side here
- 9:23Speaker 1: coming out Of. Michigan he's going to be twenty three
- 9:24Speaker 1: years old on the night of THE Nba, draft BUT
- 9:27Speaker 1: i do think he can be compared To Jalen. Johnson
- 9:29Speaker 1: it's a very similar, measurement similar, size some more, strength similar.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Speed And i'm not saying That Jackson lenderburgh is going
- 9:35Speaker 1: to make thirty million dollars and be the number one
- 9:37Speaker 1: option on a six, seed BUT i do Think Jackson
- 9:40Speaker 1: lenderburgh could be as good of a, driver a downhill
- 9:42Speaker 1: attacker As Jalen johnson as good and probably a better
- 9:45Speaker 1: defender Than Jalen johnson as. Well AND i think it's
- 9:48Speaker 1: a very similar trajectory To Jalen johnson's three point, shot
- 9:51Speaker 1: something that could be rocky out of the, gate but
- 9:53Speaker 1: it's going to come over time as the volume and
- 9:56Speaker 1: the reps go, Up so you're getting somebody that could
- 9:58Speaker 1: be a stretch four that could hopefully go multiple. Positions
- 10:01Speaker 1: AND i don't think we're going to see him reach
- 10:02Speaker 1: the levels Of Jayalen johnson, offensively BUT i think we'll
- 10:05Speaker 1: clear it.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Defensively and, yet.
- 10:06Speaker 1: LIKE i said, before not all these guys are going
- 10:08Speaker 1: to end up becoming what these comps, are but they
- 10:11Speaker 1: just remind me of what these players were either in
- 10:13Speaker 1: college or early in their. Career so, yeah the fact
- 10:16Speaker 1: that agent De bonsa reminds me Of Jaylen brown Or
- 10:18Speaker 1: Darren peterson reminds me Of Devin booker goes to show
- 10:20Speaker 1: you how loaded this draft class. Is and even some
- 10:22Speaker 1: of the prospects we didn't talk, about like A damara
- 10:25Speaker 1: reminds me Of Zach edy just with his size and
- 10:27Speaker 1: his wingspan.
- 10:28Speaker 2: And what he could be as a rimp.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Protector or Even Chris sanak he's not even supposed to
- 10:32Speaker 1: go in the, lottery reminds me a lot Of, kohl
- 10:34Speaker 1: where he's one of the better players from his draft
- 10:36Speaker 1: class going back to twenty twenty. Four thanks for watching
- 10:39Speaker 1: this episode of THE Nba Draft board powered by Aws
- 10:42Speaker 1: awsai is how THE nba brings fans inside the.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Game
