- 0:00Speaker 1: You know, normally we um we wait to bring on
- 0:03Speaker 1: the v I P guests, but I just have to
- 0:06Speaker 1: jump right in. I am so taken by how ridiculously
- 0:10Speaker 1: breathtaking you are in this episode. Thank you so much.
- 0:14Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie Donald. I texted her while I
- 0:16Speaker 1: was watching it and said, you know, I don't mean
- 0:19Speaker 1: to keep it classic, keep it, keep it classic. I'm
- 0:22Speaker 1: not going to get in trouble with Bill. I just
- 0:24Speaker 1: want to say I am not to be superficial and
- 0:26Speaker 1: just talk about looks. She's also a very very very
- 0:29Speaker 1: funny woman. But holy crap, are you beautiful in this episode.
- 0:33Speaker 1: And I can say that because you're being sexual and
- 0:36Speaker 1: luring Johnny C into the bedroom, so I'm allowed to
- 0:38Speaker 1: comment on that, Donald, But she's doing it and such
- 0:41Speaker 1: a that's the way it's supposed to be. When your
- 0:44Speaker 1: booty calling with your ex right comes over, she says, yo,
- 0:48Speaker 1: let's do this, and you say, yeah, let's do this,
- 0:50Speaker 1: and then that's it. That's the rule. Then, by the way, Krista,
- 0:55Speaker 1: I used to say that all the time to Casey
- 0:58Speaker 1: when I would have her come over at like, you know,
- 1:00Speaker 1: ten thirty at night. Them's the rules of the booty
- 1:02Speaker 1: call baby. I used to say that all the time. Really, Yeah, absolutely, Chris.
- 1:08Speaker 1: I love how in control Jordan is. She just she
- 1:12Speaker 1: just And I think it's a good I mean not
- 1:14Speaker 1: that we were the first show to ever do this,
- 1:16Speaker 1: but I think it was a good message for women.
- 1:18Speaker 1: It was kind of like, hey, you can be uh
- 1:20Speaker 1: if you want sex, like, no shame, go get yours.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Go be in charge of the booty call and go
- 1:25Speaker 1: get yours. Make it happen. Make make it happen for yourself.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I always tell my friends this on a different note,
- 1:32Speaker 1: you know, know how to make it happen for yourself
- 1:35Speaker 1: and follow through? Yeah, are you taking shit off anyone? Yeah?
- 1:40Speaker 1: And and Jordan's was like, you know, I don't want
- 1:42Speaker 1: to hear you talk, like, just shut out, take your
- 1:45Speaker 1: clothes off. First of all, how are you sorry? How
- 1:48Speaker 1: I got excited? I was just watching an episode. I
- 1:50Speaker 1: got excited. I miss you And it was so sweet
- 1:53Speaker 1: to hear from you guys from my birthday. So I
- 1:56Speaker 1: really appreciate it. Thank you, no doubt. How's your corn
- 2:00Speaker 1: chaining going? You know it's my wet dream to be quarantine.
- 2:06Speaker 1: There's people like Chris, I know, I'm sure if you're listening,
- 2:10Speaker 1: you know who, Like, wait, you're telling me I don't
- 2:12Speaker 1: have to leave the house and no one will give
- 2:13Speaker 1: me ship. I mean, you know, it's it's not as
- 2:20Speaker 1: easy for your friend Bill Lawrence, who wants to be
- 2:24Speaker 1: around people all the time. You know. Did he tell
- 2:27Speaker 1: you that I put him downstairs? Tell us about that?
- 2:30Speaker 1: He told us that, you said, that's your office. What's that? Well?
- 2:33Speaker 1: I anticipated that quarantine would be a disaster for our
- 2:37Speaker 1: marriage and we would ultimately end up divorced if there
- 2:40Speaker 1: weren't certain rules followed. Um and because Bill, left to
- 2:45Speaker 1: his own devices, would follow me around the house all day.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I want to see what I'm doing, you know, um
- 2:51Speaker 1: fain interest in things he wasn't interested in, and so
- 2:56Speaker 1: I put him. I put a desk in our downstairs
- 2:59Speaker 1: guest bedroom. I set it all up, made sure there's
- 3:03Speaker 1: a big TV in there. I set it up as
- 3:05Speaker 1: a little pieda tear, like one might have a little
- 3:08Speaker 1: studio apartment in New York. And he is he can
- 3:11Speaker 1: come out for lunch. By the way, he's still by
- 3:22Speaker 1: the way, Bill is so afraid of Krista. This is
- 3:25Speaker 1: a funny thing that Donald and I have witnessed like
- 3:27Speaker 1: when we did this show for nine years, Bill was
- 3:29Speaker 1: the boss and he was the big brother, and he
- 3:31Speaker 1: could be scary at times. And then the second he
- 3:34Speaker 1: was around Krista, it automatically switched and he was like yes, Crista, Yes,
- 3:38Speaker 1: And Bill was like, this isn't a joke. Bill was like, no, no,
- 3:40Speaker 1: I have to go to the office. I'm like, what
- 3:42Speaker 1: do you mean we're in quarantine. He's like, no, no no,
- 3:43Speaker 1: Krista made an office for me and I have to go.
- 3:50Speaker 1: It's it's very much it's very much like uh Cox
- 3:54Speaker 1: and Jordan's no, Like I've never seen Cox slump his
- 3:58Speaker 1: shoulders like that, like like he does at the end
- 4:01Speaker 1: of the episode. Right, you've never seen that in the show.
- 4:07Speaker 1: But here comes Jordan's and he's like and Bill walks
- 4:11Speaker 1: around and his chest is all out, and Krista comes around.
- 4:15Speaker 1: He sinks down like Okay, you got it. He submits.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I think that's very healthy for your relationship. I'm sure
- 4:21Speaker 1: you do too, Cristo. But like a guy, I mean
- 4:24Speaker 1: talk about that because I think a guy like Bill,
- 4:27Speaker 1: and I know other men and probably women and vice
- 4:29Speaker 1: versa like this. When they're at work, they're kind of
- 4:31Speaker 1: the boss. They're the alpha and they come home and
- 4:34Speaker 1: they need the ying yang of someone be like, no,
- 4:36Speaker 1: you're not the fucking boss anymore. Okay, there's your room,
- 4:38Speaker 1: go to your room. Yeah I don't I don't work
- 4:41Speaker 1: for you, but I will say this at work because
- 4:49Speaker 1: I think Bill is so talented at his job, and
- 4:55Speaker 1: he his takes on jokes and how they should be
- 5:00Speaker 1: on is so spun on it. It also has the quality,
- 5:03Speaker 1: as you guys know, is that if you say I
- 5:05Speaker 1: want to try it this way, he'll say try it.
- 5:08Speaker 1: If you're ways better, he'll say, you're right, you're ways better.
- 5:11Speaker 1: So I have a lot of trusted him so work,
- 5:13Speaker 1: actually I was quite You guys didn't notice it, but
- 5:17Speaker 1: that for me was deferential to build. I saw it
- 5:21Speaker 1: when you switched to work mode. You were always like, hey,
- 5:25Speaker 1: can I try it this way? Or you know you
- 5:26Speaker 1: you you totally switch. But I just love because I'm
- 5:29Speaker 1: so close with you guys, and I spent so much
- 5:31Speaker 1: time with you at your home. It was always fun
- 5:34Speaker 1: for you. I mean now we're all best friends, but
- 5:36Speaker 1: back in the day when I didn't know you as well,
- 5:38Speaker 1: it was always so much fun for me to see
- 5:40Speaker 1: Bill under Christina's thumb. Wait, Zach has witnessed you. I
- 5:45Speaker 1: don't know if you want to talk about now the
- 5:47Speaker 1: stop hug Donald Donald. Bill is so pussy whipped. If
- 5:54Speaker 1: I can say that, christ I hope it's not too jarring. Um. Well,
- 6:01Speaker 1: they go on to Howard Stern all the time, these two,
- 6:03Speaker 1: and you can so everything is going to be tame
- 6:06Speaker 1: compared to what these two talk about on Howard's Stern together.
- 6:08Speaker 1: But I Bill is so pussy whipped. But Christie, you
- 6:11Speaker 1: tell the story. But I feel it's it's so adorable
- 6:14Speaker 1: and my heart goes out for him. But but you
- 6:17Speaker 1: you were on my side by the end of the summer. No,
- 6:21Speaker 1: I never was. I love you, but I felt the
- 6:23Speaker 1: guy just the just the guy just wants to hug
- 6:26Speaker 1: his wife. The poor guy just wants to hug his wife.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Maybe I'll have Donald so Donald. What happens is, I
- 6:34Speaker 1: am I'm the way to be doing something. I'm I'm working,
- 6:38Speaker 1: I'm organizing, I'm writing, and Bill and or I'll have
- 6:42Speaker 1: my hands full of things. And Bill goes stop hug
- 6:46Speaker 1: and then he and he needs to stop hug. And
- 6:57Speaker 1: I would say to Zach, it's don't. You're not explaining it.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Stop hugg Stop hugging meant that she would have to
- 7:03Speaker 1: put her things down, no matter what was happening and
- 7:05Speaker 1: give him a long, tight embrace. And Christo, we were
- 7:08Speaker 1: staying in on Long Island together and Chris is like, no,
- 7:11Speaker 1: what the fund are you talking about? We're not stop
- 7:12Speaker 1: holing right now. I'd be we'd be out at the
- 7:15Speaker 1: boat and I'm I'm, you know, tying up the boat
- 7:19Speaker 1: or trying to get the anchor up. And Bill be like,
- 7:21Speaker 1: stop hug No, No, it's so fun for Donald and
- 7:27Speaker 1: I because I mean, how long it took him to
- 7:33Speaker 1: hug us. He couldn't even hug us. We had to
- 7:35Speaker 1: Now he's a hugger. We we took it. Took a decade,
- 7:37Speaker 1: but we turned him into a mail on male hugger.
- 7:39Speaker 1: But in the beginning he'd be like, high five, we're huggers.
- 7:44Speaker 1: He would tap you on the show, Hey buddy, Hey buddy. No,
- 7:49Speaker 1: he would he will say, now I'm not speaking out
- 7:53Speaker 1: of school, that he would like to have an adult
- 7:55Speaker 1: baby biorn for me to climb into, wear me around
- 8:04Speaker 1: the house dirt quarantine. That's why I had to get
- 8:07Speaker 1: him the office. But by the way, that sounds amazing.
- 8:12Speaker 1: There are so many husbands and wives how long have
- 8:15Speaker 1: been married. There are so many husbands and wives who
- 8:18Speaker 1: are so over each other sadly after twenty years. And
- 8:21Speaker 1: Bill is so incredibly in love with you. I mean
- 8:25Speaker 1: it has not turned down one cell from your from
- 8:28Speaker 1: the day you met. And I think that's so sweet.
- 8:30Speaker 1: So my heart always goes out to him. Sometimes when
- 8:32Speaker 1: you're like, Bill, go to your fucking office. No, stop,
- 8:35Speaker 1: hugs Zack, you have to remember that. No, I love
- 8:41Speaker 1: him so much. He gets plenty of sex, he gets
- 8:44Speaker 1: plenty of cuddles. Enough is enough. I mean you feel
- 8:47Speaker 1: sorry for someone who gets a lot of things. That's
- 8:50Speaker 1: a lot of attention. Well, listen, we forgot to sing.
- 8:54Speaker 1: By the way, I was about to say, I was
- 8:55Speaker 1: about to say, that's a great way to start the show.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Bill gets Bill, Lawrence gets plenty of sex. Everybody about show.
- 9:03Speaker 1: We made about a bunch of nurses around here, around here, Christy,
- 9:25Speaker 1: we gotta go back to the beginning. And now that
- 9:27Speaker 1: we've sung ourselves, then Donald, no, Donald, I'm gonna leave.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I was gonna okay, go ahead, man, I know you're excited.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I was told to turn the game down on my mic.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I was so excited by Dan. Dan had an intervention
- 9:40Speaker 1: and said, turned down your mic. You're too giddy. Christa
- 9:43Speaker 1: tell us, we're gonna go way back to the beginning.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Whenever we have our co stars on, we like to
- 9:48Speaker 1: start the beginning. Even before you met Bill, you were
- 9:52Speaker 1: in New York. You grew up in Manhattan, and tell
- 9:55Speaker 1: us about being going from modeling to acting, like that
- 9:58Speaker 1: section of your life where it was working as a
- 10:00Speaker 1: model and then into Drew carry Well. I always um.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I went to acting class at night in high school,
- 10:07Speaker 1: I went to American Academy of Dramatic Arts and then
- 10:10Speaker 1: the Neighborhood Playoffs, and I would ride my bike. I
- 10:12Speaker 1: had a tend speed bike in New York. UM. I
- 10:14Speaker 1: would go to school and then I would play in
- 10:17Speaker 1: some varsity sport that I was in, like basketball or volleyball,
- 10:20Speaker 1: and then I would ride my bike down to UM
- 10:23Speaker 1: the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and take acting classes.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I always wanted to be an actor, and modeling was
- 10:31Speaker 1: just a way to make money. And uh, I originally
- 10:36Speaker 1: came out here because I got an audition for a
- 10:41Speaker 1: league of their own when when David Ansbad was first
- 10:46Speaker 1: directing it, and when he was doing it, you had
- 10:49Speaker 1: to pass, and they knew I was. You had to
- 10:50Speaker 1: be a real baseball player, So you had to go
- 10:53Speaker 1: down with one of the the head coach for one
- 10:59Speaker 1: of the baseball teams for like this three hour baseball
- 11:03Speaker 1: audition before you were even allowed to read. And so
- 11:08Speaker 1: I did that. I got the part. David oun Spot
- 11:13Speaker 1: ultimately got fired from the movie and Penny Marshall took over,
- 11:17Speaker 1: and um, I ended up dating him and but staying
- 11:22Speaker 1: out here and starting with that, you know, doing acting,
- 11:27Speaker 1: and what happens is I got an episode of The
- 11:29Speaker 1: Fresh Prince of bel Airs. No, it wasn't my first job,
- 11:34Speaker 1: but I it was one of the first few ones,
- 11:39Speaker 1: and it was so fun. Will Smith would he did this.
- 11:44Speaker 1: First of all, there's loud music playing any time they
- 11:47Speaker 1: cut loud musically playing on stage. He was so lovely
- 11:52Speaker 1: and he would do these speed throughs with everybody and
- 11:56Speaker 1: just it was such a fun thing. And I thought,
- 11:58Speaker 1: why am I doing that, this drama painful memories of childhood.
- 12:06Speaker 1: I don't want to do it. And that was what
- 12:07Speaker 1: got me started to want to do comedy. Well, and
- 12:10Speaker 1: also you're funny, and I think that one thing that
- 12:13Speaker 1: Hollywood really embraces. You know, there's there's there's plenty of
- 12:17Speaker 1: pretty people, but a pretty person who can be hilarious
- 12:20Speaker 1: like you can be. It was no doubt that you
- 12:22Speaker 1: were going to have a big career. Well, I was
- 12:24Speaker 1: gonna say, I was gonna I was gonna say later
- 12:27Speaker 1: on in the conversation, but I think I want to
- 12:28Speaker 1: say it now. We uh like, we we watched this back.
- 12:33Speaker 1: We watched this show back, and it's been such a
- 12:35Speaker 1: long time since we've seen the show that we uh
- 12:38Speaker 1: tend to forget a lot of things. And one thing
- 12:40Speaker 1: that I forgot was how funny you are, Krista. Like
- 12:44Speaker 1: every one of your jokes lands every time, and the
- 12:47Speaker 1: sarcasm and the sass, it all shines through. And so
- 12:51Speaker 1: when I'm watching these episodes, I'm like, in my mind,
- 12:54Speaker 1: I'm like, of course they get back together, they marry
- 12:57Speaker 1: each other, so well, you know what I mean. And
- 13:00Speaker 1: you know, John C's characters put into the show to
- 13:03Speaker 1: be you know, this sarcastic mentor for j D, it's
- 13:08Speaker 1: only right that he has a sarcastic wife, you know,
- 13:13Speaker 1: or ex wife or love interest on the show, and
- 13:16Speaker 1: so when when when when watching this, it's like it's
- 13:20Speaker 1: like you guys are playing tennis, you know what I mean,
- 13:22Speaker 1: and he's hitting it to you and you're spiking it
- 13:25Speaker 1: back and he's like, oh, ship, let me spike it back,
- 13:28Speaker 1: you know what I mean. It's so great to watch.
- 13:30Speaker 1: It's a lot like the banter of Bill and Christa.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I mean, they they do that sparring back and forth
- 13:35Speaker 1: and the sarcasm back and forth and um and can
- 13:38Speaker 1: be quite biting. I once said to them, did you
- 13:41Speaker 1: guys meet at mean camp? Donald, that's so sweet of
- 13:45Speaker 1: you to say thank you. You know, when I watch
- 13:48Speaker 1: my boys have been watching going through watching Scrubs, all
- 13:52Speaker 1: the episodes all any time I go in the kitchen,
- 13:54Speaker 1: I'll watch and I think, see how good you guys are,
- 13:57Speaker 1: and you see how like every show you guys get
- 14:01Speaker 1: more and more in the groove better and and and Donald,
- 14:06Speaker 1: your physical um comedy is so strong and you allow it.
- 14:12Speaker 1: You know. I think it was maybe because it was
- 14:14Speaker 1: in a hospital and everyone was there together. It was
- 14:16Speaker 1: like this very safe place to like kind of bring
- 14:20Speaker 1: your a game. That's what I felt on that show.
- 14:24Speaker 1: You would step in and also that you would want
- 14:27Speaker 1: to be friends with everybody, um, you know, from the
- 14:32Speaker 1: crew to the cat to everyone that was there. But
- 14:34Speaker 1: you just step in and you're in a safe place
- 14:37Speaker 1: to do that. You know that the show would not
- 14:40Speaker 1: have worked at all if there wasn't this environment of
- 14:44Speaker 1: there's no wrong answer. You know, actors can were so neurotic.
- 14:47Speaker 1: You can get in your head and go, oh, I'm
- 14:49Speaker 1: not making anyone laugh or I don't want to do that,
- 14:51Speaker 1: because it's if it's they don't laugh, I'll feel stupid.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Bill and the crew and everyone and and us. We
- 14:57Speaker 1: created this environment where like go nuts, like they're is
- 15:00Speaker 1: no wrong answer, like if you if you go too far,
- 15:03Speaker 1: don't worry. We'll choose a take that that's that isn't
- 15:06Speaker 1: as broad, but like it gave all of us the
- 15:08Speaker 1: freedom to just fucking go for it right and doing
- 15:12Speaker 1: and doing this rewatch right now. It's really what's really
- 15:14Speaker 1: fun to watch is how when we first started, how
- 15:18Speaker 1: tight we all were, you know what I mean? We
- 15:20Speaker 1: were all so tight, and now we're starting where what
- 15:23Speaker 1: is this episode one? What? Uh one eighteen? We're all
- 15:30Speaker 1: starting to really loosen up now, you know what I
- 15:33Speaker 1: mean and everybody's starting to spread out and you can
- 15:35Speaker 1: feel that the nervous energy has gone and we're starting
- 15:38Speaker 1: to play on camera. And uh yeah. But my point,
- 15:42Speaker 1: my point was when you came in, you were already there,
- 15:45Speaker 1: You were all ready to play, already ready to play.
- 15:48Speaker 1: And I think that has a lot to do with
- 15:49Speaker 1: you doing Drew Carey at the time and being on
- 15:51Speaker 1: television for what it was like seven years at this point,
- 15:54Speaker 1: eight years at this point. Yeah. Well, also because it's
- 15:56Speaker 1: a live audience, so you're you're used to it. But
- 15:59Speaker 1: I wasn't. I wasn't. I was tight because I wasn't
- 16:03Speaker 1: used to the medium of single camera comedy, which is different,
- 16:09Speaker 1: you know than doing a sitcom. But I remember Bill
- 16:13Speaker 1: said to me, and it might have been on this episode,
- 16:16Speaker 1: he said, you know, when it's not your coverage, and
- 16:20Speaker 1: I don't know if you want to explain. You know,
- 16:22Speaker 1: when the camera's not on you, you're doing broad, funny,
- 16:28Speaker 1: crazy things, and I want you to do at least
- 16:32Speaker 1: two of those takes when it's when the camera's on you.
- 16:36Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, I am having a disconnect.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I'm so much freer and looser when you're doing genius
- 16:44Speaker 1: ship off camera, you're doing genius off camera. You might
- 16:48Speaker 1: wanna you might want to meld the two. So Donald,
- 16:52Speaker 1: Donald just brought just talk about Drew for a second,
- 16:54Speaker 1: because it was a big chunk of your life. You're
- 16:55Speaker 1: one of the you're one of the lucky actors in
- 16:59Speaker 1: the in the in the world of Hollywood that can
- 17:01Speaker 1: go from one successful show to another. We talked about
- 17:04Speaker 1: how Neil Flynn did that after Scrubsy then went and
- 17:07Speaker 1: start on on the Middle for forever that. Yeah, so
- 17:11Speaker 1: what was the obviously just reminding audience that don't know
- 17:15Speaker 1: the difference on sitcoms are are filmed like a play.
- 17:17Speaker 1: They're done in front of a live audience. That's why
- 17:19Speaker 1: you hear the laughs and um, you know, they set
- 17:22Speaker 1: up four or five cameras and they and they shoot
- 17:24Speaker 1: it like a play and they cut in between them,
- 17:26Speaker 1: whereas when we shoot Scrubs, there's no audience. We're shooting
- 17:28Speaker 1: it like a movie with with with the one angle
- 17:30Speaker 1: at a time or two angles at a time. So
- 17:33Speaker 1: talk a little bit about Drew, Krista and and and
- 17:36Speaker 1: what that experience was like and again transitioning to Scrubs
- 17:40Speaker 1: from that, you know, it was so unusual. I mean,
- 17:43Speaker 1: you know this that you're not working and then you
- 17:47Speaker 1: you're all of a sudden you're on a show. You know,
- 17:50Speaker 1: it was just and doing twenty six episodes and you're
- 17:54Speaker 1: on this big show. And I had so much fun.
- 17:58Speaker 1: And it was also a great learning experience because it
- 18:02Speaker 1: is it was so foreign to me that particular medium
- 18:07Speaker 1: of doing it like that, because you realize, you know,
- 18:09Speaker 1: when you're doing a sitcom, the audience and we've all
- 18:13Speaker 1: done them, the audience becomes on show night, another character
- 18:18Speaker 1: in the scene. And so it's really about listening and
- 18:22Speaker 1: being able to change your jokes and not being married
- 18:26Speaker 1: to a joke that you might have done funny in
- 18:28Speaker 1: the table reader sometime during the week. It's really about
- 18:30Speaker 1: listening and being organic, because if you're not, you're gonna
- 18:34Speaker 1: get stuck. It's just everything's going to be flat. They
- 18:37Speaker 1: also give you such a high, though, don't they Like
- 18:39Speaker 1: when you could never go to sleep. I would come home,
- 18:42Speaker 1: I would take a bath, I would do you have
- 18:44Speaker 1: to do everything talk about booty calls after showing what
- 18:51Speaker 1: you're doing, what you're doing the show, I know what
- 18:57Speaker 1: that means. Yeah, because you can't go to sleep. Yeah,
- 19:04Speaker 1: I remember I did. I did the excess for three
- 19:08Speaker 1: or four years after Scrubs and uh, I remember, show
- 19:13Speaker 1: nights were the hardest nights to go to sleep. Every
- 19:16Speaker 1: other night you could pass out, no problem, but you're
- 19:18Speaker 1: just so high from doing the show and you know, uh,
- 19:22Speaker 1: and it's hard to come down when, especially when show
- 19:24Speaker 1: felt like it went good and like you said, the
- 19:26Speaker 1: audience gives you all of this energy and you could
- 19:29Speaker 1: be tired going into the show, but then after you're like, dude,
- 19:32Speaker 1: where are we going? What are we doing? No? I
- 19:35Speaker 1: have a good I can I can mix Drew Carry
- 19:39Speaker 1: and Scrubs in a story. So Drew got into improv,
- 19:45Speaker 1: which I think is the work of the devil, and
- 19:48Speaker 1: I I don't I don't like doing improv and I
- 19:52Speaker 1: don't like watching improv. So Drew wanted to do these
- 19:56Speaker 1: yah and Brian did improv and you know, blah blah blah.
- 19:59Speaker 1: So he wanted to do these episodes live one year
- 20:03Speaker 1: on Drew. That would be a live episode already, which
- 20:05Speaker 1: would be nerve wracking because it's live. And then secondly,
- 20:09Speaker 1: have it be improv so while you were doing the show,
- 20:14Speaker 1: they would press a button and then you would have
- 20:17Speaker 1: to change the line. Okay, So I was that I'm
- 20:23Speaker 1: getting anxious hearing about it. Yeah, So I was like,
- 20:25Speaker 1: fun that noise because I don't I'm not a writer.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I don't want to do it. So this became the
- 20:32Speaker 1: most fun thing ever that we would go. We would
- 20:35Speaker 1: I would take my script into the Scrubs writer's room
- 20:37Speaker 1: because it started when when we were at Scrubs and
- 20:41Speaker 1: every line I had all the Scrubs writers and it
- 20:44Speaker 1: would they would we would stop for the day and
- 20:47Speaker 1: they would write. They would write all the all jokes
- 20:52Speaker 1: that were really funny, like they're no better writers ever
- 20:58Speaker 1: than this that Scrubs writers him right, So they're writing
- 21:01Speaker 1: the funniest alt jokes. But Drew didn't know. And so
- 21:05Speaker 1: then on show night, and I remember this one particular night,
- 21:08Speaker 1: all the Scrubs writers came and they were sitting with
- 21:11Speaker 1: Bill and they're all excited because they know the button
- 21:14Speaker 1: is gonna be passed. And I'm going to say one
- 21:16Speaker 1: of their jokes that I've memorized, so it's not anything
- 21:20Speaker 1: improv about it. You have to walk. I'm gonna have
- 21:23Speaker 1: to send you that this one show because you'll die laughing.
- 21:26Speaker 1: So I am doing it, and Drew's getting so mad
- 21:30Speaker 1: that he keeps pressing the button for me to do.
- 21:35Speaker 1: But I have locked in loads I got. I got
- 21:42Speaker 1: so many locked loaded that I had an applause break
- 21:46Speaker 1: on my jokes and Drew a bit he was so mad.
- 21:50Speaker 1: He's like, but that's not really improv. I like, but
- 21:53Speaker 1: I'm I don't do improv. So what difference does it make?
- 21:56Speaker 1: And I sold it to you know how you can
- 21:58Speaker 1: sell improvm like your look like your you do the
- 22:05Speaker 1: little ship? Look up? Yeah, you gotta sell it to
- 22:10Speaker 1: the audience. What episode is this? Because ours want to go?
- 22:15Speaker 1: Listeners are gonna want to check. I know, I will.
- 22:19Speaker 1: I have to find out. I'm sure if you google
- 22:22Speaker 1: Drew Carey improvisational episodes they'll find him. Yeah. And so
- 22:27Speaker 1: did Drew know that? I mean he must have known
- 22:28Speaker 1: that Bill was because he Bill was a famous TV writers. Well, yeah,
- 22:32Speaker 1: well he knew when he saw all the And also,
- 22:35Speaker 1: you know when writers hear their own jokes, they're hysterical, right,
- 22:40Speaker 1: So I had already sold it by looking up like
- 22:42Speaker 1: I'm this coming, and then then then it would be
- 22:44Speaker 1: the huge laugh, which I would have never gotten because
- 22:46Speaker 1: I'm not that funny on My Feet Live. I'm here
- 22:49Speaker 1: to tell you, Okay, I've seen you live before and
- 22:52Speaker 1: you're wonderful. Donald. I love you, thank you. So yeah,
- 22:56Speaker 1: they were all hysterical, like just more hysterical bol than
- 23:00Speaker 1: normal people. So Drew just knew. He just knew it
- 23:04Speaker 1: was all the Scrubs writers and I had memorized. Drew
- 23:09Speaker 1: looks up and he's like, why is the entire Scrubs
- 23:11Speaker 1: writers right here at an improv at an improv deeping
- 23:16Speaker 1: of Drew carry I've never really I've done a guest
- 23:22Speaker 1: on on Donald's Does to Come, and we did our
- 23:24Speaker 1: Scrubs one, but I've never really had a role on one.
- 23:28Speaker 1: And um, what I always love is going and standing
- 23:31Speaker 1: next to people like Bill because when a joke for
- 23:33Speaker 1: those of you who don't know, when a joke doesn't
- 23:35Speaker 1: work or doesn't get a big laugh, then all the
- 23:38Speaker 1: writers sort of huddle up on a non on a
- 23:40Speaker 1: traditional one, not on the improblem one like like Christ
- 23:42Speaker 1: is talking about, and then they kind of come up
- 23:44Speaker 1: with a better or an all joke. And I've had
- 23:47Speaker 1: times where it's so much fun, Rob whispering Bill's here
- 23:49Speaker 1: like a joke pitch and then some actor I've never
- 23:52Speaker 1: met before says the line gets a huge laugh, and
- 23:56Speaker 1: I'm just like celebrated, like, well, that was more fun
- 23:59Speaker 1: than anything I've ever done. But didn't you used to
- 24:01Speaker 1: do that a lot? So come into Undateable and be Bill.
- 24:05Speaker 1: It was always used to said, I'm wanting Zack to
- 24:07Speaker 1: come down. Did it Undateable? I did it on some
- 24:09Speaker 1: of his other ones, And I would come on show
- 24:11Speaker 1: night just for that fun, because I love pitching jokes
- 24:14Speaker 1: and when yours gets on and it gets a laugh,
- 24:16Speaker 1: and especially when I've never even met the person saying
- 24:18Speaker 1: it and they get and they kill I'm like, that
- 24:20Speaker 1: sounds good. It's like broadcast news. Remember when he when
- 24:23Speaker 1: Albert Brooks calls Holly Hunter and he says, I I
- 24:26Speaker 1: say it here, it comes out there and it was
- 24:29Speaker 1: just like whispering into Bill's ear. And then all of
- 24:31Speaker 1: a sudden, some random not random, but an actor on
- 24:33Speaker 1: the show I had never met says it. It was
- 24:35Speaker 1: a good feeling. Yeah, when you came on the ex's
- 24:37Speaker 1: I remember that happened too, Like they had a whole
- 24:40Speaker 1: different idea for what they wanted you to do, and
- 24:42Speaker 1: you're like, no, you know, guys, don't you think it
- 24:44Speaker 1: would be funny if I came in and I just
- 24:45Speaker 1: wanted to base. Yeah, yeah, funny episode. Man. I try
- 24:52Speaker 1: and know he's balanced. I don't want to be the
- 24:53Speaker 1: guy who's like trying to write too many of my jokes.
- 24:56Speaker 1: But if there's if they give me a little bit
- 24:57Speaker 1: of rope, I'm like, all right, well, I'm gonna age
- 25:00Speaker 1: the character. Now, my character wants them sex with that
- 25:02Speaker 1: guy that was I remember. I remember being like, holy cow, dude,
- 25:09Speaker 1: we're actually gonna make an entire episode about how Zach
- 25:12Speaker 1: Braff's character wants to bang David allen Bach. And it
- 25:15Speaker 1: all came from you going up to the creator of
- 25:18Speaker 1: that show saying, dude, yeah, that's funny, But wouldn't it
- 25:21Speaker 1: be funnier if I tried to fun this dude? Yeah,
- 25:24Speaker 1: that way funnier if I was trying to bang one
- 25:26Speaker 1: of the leads of the show. It was great. It's
- 25:28Speaker 1: good episode to check that out. Check out me guest
- 25:31Speaker 1: starring on the ex Is with the legendary Donald phase on.
- 25:36Speaker 1: So um wait, Chris to talk a little bit. We're
- 25:38Speaker 1: gonna get into the show, but we just have I
- 25:39Speaker 1: feel like we could do an hour and a half.
- 25:41Speaker 1: We could do an hour. Just don't asking questions right,
- 25:43Speaker 1: thank you. I want to know about you meeting Bill Lawrence. Well,
- 25:47Speaker 1: I wanted to know that too. How but I want
- 25:49Speaker 1: to know how. I've heard versions of this, but I
- 25:52Speaker 1: want to he I've never heard this before. Listen. The
- 25:54Speaker 1: guy was a swinging bachelor in Manhattan. He had a
- 25:57Speaker 1: hit show, Spin City. They didn't shoot a lot of
- 26:00Speaker 1: shows in New York at the time, and so Bill
- 26:02Speaker 1: was a big deal and he was feeling himself. I
- 26:05Speaker 1: think he had leach blonde hair for a while. And
- 26:08Speaker 1: I want to know how is his game? How did
- 26:10Speaker 1: he hit on you? How did he land a beautiful,
- 26:12Speaker 1: talented woman like you? Well? Do you want to hear?
- 26:14Speaker 1: The weirdest thing is that you know, Bill was married
- 26:17Speaker 1: before and his ex wife had one line on Drew
- 26:23Speaker 1: carry as a bartender when we first started the show,
- 26:26Speaker 1: and I remember that she had the most beautiful engagement
- 26:30Speaker 1: ring on. And then one day, this very handsome man
- 26:35Speaker 1: came to visit her and I was like, I couldn't
- 26:38Speaker 1: understand it that she had this handsome husband, and I
- 26:42Speaker 1: was just like, full career, you know, I was so
- 26:45Speaker 1: far away from I was only booty calls. I was
- 26:48Speaker 1: just like on the career thing anyway, and that was
- 26:52Speaker 1: Bill and that was his ex wife, but I didn't
- 26:56Speaker 1: know it then. So I was went to New York.
- 26:58Speaker 1: You know, they do the upfront to New York where
- 27:00Speaker 1: they announced all the shows, and yeah, we've told them,
- 27:03Speaker 1: that's what we've told, the famous story of donaldge Jeff
- 27:05Speaker 1: Zucker to the people. Right. So we I went to
- 27:08Speaker 1: go to the upfronts and I was dating someone at
- 27:11Speaker 1: the time who had some beef with ABC, an actor,
- 27:16Speaker 1: but he flew with me to the upfronts and then
- 27:19Speaker 1: he didn't want to. And then I happened to go
- 27:23Speaker 1: on Howard Stern with Drew Carey and they made fun
- 27:28Speaker 1: of this actor on on Howard Stern, and at that time,
- 27:33Speaker 1: with Howard Stern, they had them. It was on E
- 27:36Speaker 1: so you were also on camera. And what they did
- 27:39Speaker 1: is put up a picture of this actor that I was.
- 27:44Speaker 1: I mean, I feel bad for the guy, that's horrible,
- 27:46Speaker 1: but also I was now Aman Howard, Who's Howard supersedes everybody.
- 27:51Speaker 1: So I was laughing and they broke the picture and
- 27:55Speaker 1: then they cut to me and Drew was laughing so
- 27:57Speaker 1: hard that he's pounding. He has when he laughed really
- 27:59Speaker 1: hard to guess the high pitched laugh, which is so contagious.
- 28:02Speaker 1: He's pounding the desk and I'm laughing. I came home
- 28:06Speaker 1: and that this particular actor was nowhere to be found.
- 28:10Speaker 1: He was on the plane back. But I mean, in
- 28:13Speaker 1: his defense, your your your girlfriends on Howard Stern and
- 28:17Speaker 1: they're all making fun of you. Really had made a
- 28:21Speaker 1: bad choice, but in career. But anyway, so he declined
- 28:27Speaker 1: that night to come with me to the ABC party
- 28:33Speaker 1: and now I'm not going, and that decision changed the
- 28:36Speaker 1: course of his life and your life forever. So and
- 28:40Speaker 1: I remember it was pouring rain. I was like and
- 28:43Speaker 1: they they started late, and Jamie Tarsus was throwing it
- 28:46Speaker 1: my friend Jamie Tarsis because she was the president ABC
- 28:49Speaker 1: at the time, And I had to go down to
- 28:52Speaker 1: this party at the Merciall Hotel by myself, and which
- 28:57Speaker 1: is a night horrible mistake on this boy friends, don't
- 29:01Speaker 1: leave your your your beautiful girlfriend to go to a
- 29:04Speaker 1: fancy party alone because you're powdered. I mean, that's a
- 29:07Speaker 1: recipe for disaster, recipe for disasters. This is like a
- 29:11Speaker 1: Katherine Heigel movie plot. I mean, I've seen this movie. Yeah,
- 29:14Speaker 1: so I walk in it gets better. And this actor's
- 29:18Speaker 1: friend was friends with Alan Ruck. I knew Alan Ruck
- 29:22Speaker 1: because of this actor boyfriend that I had, and Alan
- 29:27Speaker 1: Ruck stood up and said, Krista, Hi, come me everybody
- 29:32Speaker 1: on my show. So Alan Ruck was one of the
- 29:35Speaker 1: stars of Spin City. Yes, he was a Cameron from
- 29:38Speaker 1: Ferris Peeler's Day Off right, very funny actor, lovely man.
- 29:43Speaker 1: So I walked over to the their section Spin City
- 29:47Speaker 1: section and Bill Lawrence stood up in a really cute
- 29:51Speaker 1: suit right away and said, Hi, nice to meet you.
- 29:54Speaker 1: And my first thing is I was like, what am
- 29:57Speaker 1: I doing with this stupid actor when there's p boat
- 30:00Speaker 1: like this in the world. There's guys like this that
- 30:02Speaker 1: are so cute. And did he ask for a stop hug? No?
- 30:11Speaker 1: But so I ended up, I think, just hanging with
- 30:14Speaker 1: them the whole time. And then Bill said, I just
- 30:16Speaker 1: bought this loft. Do you want to go see it? Now?
- 30:18Speaker 1: I had grown up in New York, and I was like,
- 30:19Speaker 1: I mean, there's no more power move in the world.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Then do you want to come see this loft? I
- 30:23Speaker 1: just bought it, bought a new loft, do you want
- 30:25Speaker 1: to see it? And I of course was like aloft, sure,
- 30:29Speaker 1: Like I had never seen one. What's that? What's that? Aloft?
- 30:34Speaker 1: But this is where it went bad a little. So
- 30:36Speaker 1: we go to his go to his apartment, and there
- 30:39Speaker 1: was a girl that came over, was like six of us,
- 30:42Speaker 1: and I said to her, I didn't unbeknownst to me,
- 30:46Speaker 1: she had a crush on him. And I said to her,
- 30:50Speaker 1: who's this Bill Lawrence. He's pretty cute and she said, oh,
- 30:55Speaker 1: he's a player. Oh yeah. And so and then when
- 30:59Speaker 1: we went up, because we went up to his apartment
- 31:02Speaker 1: and because it was the Upfronts, he had had a
- 31:04Speaker 1: party in his loft the night before, so there was
- 31:06Speaker 1: like cigarettes and it was just he had had a
- 31:09Speaker 1: whole party, was boot and I thought, oh, oh, he's
- 31:12Speaker 1: just a player. He's trying to get on, you know,
- 31:15Speaker 1: forget it. And when I was leaving, Bill said, can
- 31:18Speaker 1: I get your number? Can I call you? And I
- 31:19Speaker 1: was like, if you can find me and call me,
- 31:21Speaker 1: which he did. And that was in May, and then
- 31:25Speaker 1: we didn't start dating until m because he was in
- 31:29Speaker 1: New York and I was in n l A. We
- 31:31Speaker 1: spoke on the phone and then Thanksgiving I was back
- 31:33Speaker 1: in New York and I was walking by his apartment
- 31:35Speaker 1: and I thought, I wonder how that cute Bill Lawrences?
- 31:38Speaker 1: And I called him and he didn't call me back,
- 31:42Speaker 1: but he called me back two days later and he
- 31:44Speaker 1: was he was in Jamaica. But I didn't know this.
- 31:47Speaker 1: And he called me back and said, uh, you better
- 31:50Speaker 1: be single, and I said I am, and he said, Okay,
- 31:53Speaker 1: I'm gonna fly out on Saturday and take you to dinner,
- 31:59Speaker 1: Lawrence Donal Donald and I never got to win. And
- 32:03Speaker 1: we love this guy. He's so important to us, and
- 32:06Speaker 1: we never got to see the legendary single version of him.
- 32:09Speaker 1: We've heard tales, but um, what a what a good technique.
- 32:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna fly out to take you on a date Donald, right?
- 32:16Speaker 1: That would listen, man if I had the books, That's
- 32:20Speaker 1: exactly what I would do to. On that note, we've
- 32:24Speaker 1: got to go to a quick commercial break. We'll be
- 32:26Speaker 1: right back with Christa Miller. Should we get into the episode,
- 32:37Speaker 1: you guys, I think we should at some point. I
- 32:40Speaker 1: you know I would. I wouldn't. I mean, I could
- 32:42Speaker 1: literally do a full show just on Christa Miller. But
- 32:46Speaker 1: I love you guys. Are making my my year. Well,
- 32:49Speaker 1: I think you're a great guest, and you have a
- 32:52Speaker 1: lot of things that we wanted to talk about. One
- 32:55Speaker 1: because you have are the creator of the show that
- 32:59Speaker 1: we both very famous on You have his Heart. We
- 33:03Speaker 1: love to hear insight about him and how you guys
- 33:07Speaker 1: met and everything like that, and so forgive us, especially
- 33:11Speaker 1: things that are mildly embarrassing, like stopping like wait, but
- 33:14Speaker 1: is the funniest should we have you told this story yet?
- 33:16Speaker 1: On this That how Bill used to say to you guys.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Christ didn't like, Oh no, I haven't told that story.
- 33:24Speaker 1: O god joke by Christ And she was like, it's not.
- 33:29Speaker 1: The director first, you know, director first does a cut
- 33:32Speaker 1: of the episode, and then I would show it to
- 33:34Speaker 1: Bill and I and I choose, let's say, a particular
- 33:37Speaker 1: joke that maybe was improv or something, and that I
- 33:39Speaker 1: thought was hilarious, and I put in my cut and
- 33:42Speaker 1: Bill'll be like And then I'd see Bill's cut, and
- 33:45Speaker 1: as the director, I'd be like, oh, why did you
- 33:47Speaker 1: take out that moment that was so funny? Why did
- 33:49Speaker 1: you do that? And he go, what are you talking about?
- 33:51Speaker 1: No one understands that joke, And I'd be like, really,
- 33:54Speaker 1: I mean, we were all cracking up in the edit room,
- 33:56Speaker 1: and he'd go, yeah, I showed it to Christa and
- 33:58Speaker 1: she was like, what the hell was king? Don't understand it.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Then I'd see Krista and I'd be like, Christie, you
- 34:07Speaker 1: didn't think that joke is funny? And she'd be like, Zack,
- 34:09Speaker 1: do you really think that I'm watching rough cuts? In
- 34:16Speaker 1: what world? He was such a fucking liar, but he
- 34:22Speaker 1: would do that also with the music to like I
- 34:25Speaker 1: remember him telling you, came up to you one time
- 34:27Speaker 1: and said this song would work perfectly here. Why can't
- 34:31Speaker 1: you let me do this one song? And I was like,
- 34:34Speaker 1: I don't even know what you're talking about. I don't
- 34:37Speaker 1: even know you. You have no idea. How often, I'm sure,
- 34:39Speaker 1: not just with me, but with all the entire staff,
- 34:42Speaker 1: how often you were used as bad cup? Just you know.
- 34:48Speaker 1: I just showed it to Christie and she just didn't
- 34:50Speaker 1: like it, and she didn't get it, or she didn't
- 34:52Speaker 1: like it, she didn't get it, she she hated it.
- 34:54Speaker 1: And then everybody would drop it right there and there
- 34:56Speaker 1: and would be like, oh, okay, yeah, well, how can
- 35:00Speaker 1: you you know it? Chris didn't like he did that
- 35:05Speaker 1: he did that all the time. Another funny build thing.
- 35:07Speaker 1: That a technique that that I've since stolen a couple
- 35:10Speaker 1: of them. One for you aspiring directors out there. It's
- 35:13Speaker 1: considered bad form for a director to tell an actor
- 35:17Speaker 1: how to say a line. It's called giving them a
- 35:20Speaker 1: line reading, and and it's you're supposed to use your
- 35:24Speaker 1: skills and your communication and your articulation to get to
- 35:27Speaker 1: steer them to say the line the way you want
- 35:29Speaker 1: to say it. But sometimes they're just not doing it
- 35:32Speaker 1: the way you envisioned or the writer envisioned. And this
- 35:34Speaker 1: can be frustrating. And Bill had a way around it
- 35:37Speaker 1: where he would go um. He'd go um. You know,
- 35:40Speaker 1: he would say, let's say that a guest star all
- 35:43Speaker 1: makeup named Tim. He'd go Tim. You know. At the
- 35:46Speaker 1: table read, you did it so funny. You had me
- 35:49Speaker 1: laughing so hard. You did it just like this. You
- 35:51Speaker 1: were like, we gotta get out of here and whatever.
- 35:53Speaker 1: And the guy, the actor would be like, I did
- 35:56Speaker 1: that is that is funny? I didn't like that. He
- 35:58Speaker 1: was like, yeah, that's what you did at the table
- 36:00Speaker 1: reading was hilarious. And the actor's ego is all glowing
- 36:03Speaker 1: and like, okay, I'll do it just like that, and
- 36:05Speaker 1: the actor had never done it like that. Bill totally
- 36:09Speaker 1: made that ship up right, Krista, Oh, he does it
- 36:12Speaker 1: all the time. But I also love that that we
- 36:15Speaker 1: all got because when we wheneverone started on Scrubs, you'd
- 36:19Speaker 1: be like, I don't you can't get the line readings.
- 36:22Speaker 1: That's not what you're supposed to do. And then by
- 36:25Speaker 1: season three everyone's like, Bill, just tell me how you
- 36:31Speaker 1: how do you want me to say it? Dude? I
- 36:34Speaker 1: love the director. I love it when people do that
- 36:36Speaker 1: because you're like, you're just trying to be so tactful,
- 36:38Speaker 1: and if someone says, like just tell me, you want
- 36:40Speaker 1: to say, like, oh my god, another trick tick, Bill
- 36:43Speaker 1: will do in the same vein would go. He got
- 36:46Speaker 1: in his head that if you didn't say words, it
- 36:48Speaker 1: wasn't technically giving a line reading. So if it was
- 36:50Speaker 1: like if the line was like we gotta get out
- 36:52Speaker 1: of here, and he wanted it like that, he'd be like,
- 36:54Speaker 1: you know, could you do it? Like we're like, well,
- 36:58Speaker 1: you're just giving a line reading with noise is now?
- 37:02Speaker 1: You know? Like that? Also, Bill gets so mad, well,
- 37:07Speaker 1: he got the most man over the first time that
- 37:10Speaker 1: Zack directed. It was the first time Zack directed. And
- 37:13Speaker 1: I came home like the third day and I said, Bill,
- 37:15Speaker 1: Oh my god. With Zack directed, it's like being on
- 37:19Speaker 1: a movie set. He's so good and his training as
- 37:23Speaker 1: a as a you know, as an actor, and and
- 37:27Speaker 1: it directs. His direction is so incredible. It's so amazing.
- 37:31Speaker 1: It's like and He's like, really, is it is it
- 37:34Speaker 1: like being on a movie set when Jack is there.
- 37:36Speaker 1: You have to understand that Bill and I my relationship
- 37:39Speaker 1: was so big brother, little brother. And whenever Krista I mean,
- 37:43Speaker 1: I mean, the compliments were genuine, I think and thank you.
- 37:46Speaker 1: But whenever Kristo accompliment me in front of Bill, I
- 37:49Speaker 1: would be like, oh god, this is it was just
- 37:50Speaker 1: like j D and Cox. I'd be like, oh god,
- 37:52Speaker 1: this is not going to be good for me. You really,
- 37:55Speaker 1: you really need to stop complimenting me. It's in front
- 37:57Speaker 1: of him, please, because something was going to happened to me.
- 38:02Speaker 1: But you know, it's funny though. I will say this,
- 38:03Speaker 1: because Bill showed me everyone's audition tapes for Scrubs, and
- 38:09Speaker 1: with every single one of you, I was like, Oh,
- 38:12Speaker 1: well that's the person. That's the person that has to
- 38:15Speaker 1: do it. And I remember the whole Bill's the rest
- 38:19Speaker 1: of the time was finessing and that's what he's so
- 38:21Speaker 1: good at to make sure that he got to pick.
- 38:25Speaker 1: And there was a whole math equation of how to
- 38:27Speaker 1: do it, of like, I'm going to bring in these
- 38:30Speaker 1: other two people, you know, because I really want Donald
- 38:35Speaker 1: or Jack or with everyone. And it was but well,
- 38:39Speaker 1: if you if you don't know getting your choice, even
- 38:41Speaker 1: if you're the showrunner of the show through to a network,
- 38:45Speaker 1: there's a strategy to it. You can't just go in
- 38:47Speaker 1: and say I want Donald phase On and Zach Brath,
- 38:49Speaker 1: thanks guys, because and Bill is is very good at that.
- 38:53Speaker 1: He's like, well, if I want Zack and Donald, I
- 38:55Speaker 1: have to say this, I have to act like this.
- 38:58Speaker 1: I can't be too excited about you know, as a whole. Yeah,
- 39:00Speaker 1: there's a whole strategy to it. I've experienced it and
- 39:03Speaker 1: and as a director and not gotten the person I
- 39:05Speaker 1: thought was clearly the best. But then you got to
- 39:07Speaker 1: go shoot the pilot and you're shooting the pilot with
- 39:10Speaker 1: someone you'd think is is good and talented, but not
- 39:12Speaker 1: necessarily as as as good as the other person. And
- 39:16Speaker 1: it's you know, you only you don't always get who
- 39:17Speaker 1: you want, you know, And and Bill was a really
- 39:20Speaker 1: skilled that at knowing the strategy, like, oh, if I
- 39:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna get you know, he gave us a couple
- 39:24Speaker 1: extra jokes, and he would, you know, when we came
- 39:27Speaker 1: in the room. You know, it's so intimidating. He would
- 39:29Speaker 1: make all these jokes to make everyone already start laughing.
- 39:32Speaker 1: So by the time he's like a warm up comic.
- 39:33Speaker 1: By the time time for your audition, they're already giggling.
- 39:36Speaker 1: You know. Yeah, it's but it's also interesting because sometimes
- 39:39Speaker 1: on a pilot, I remember with Scrubs, sometimes on a pilot,
- 39:42Speaker 1: you would go on this part, I'll give in, I'll
- 39:46Speaker 1: let them choose, or you've given on that so you
- 39:48Speaker 1: can have the other people that you like. And on Scrubs,
- 39:51Speaker 1: Bill wasn't willing to budge on anyone. You know, he
- 39:55Speaker 1: really knew who he wanted, and so he had to
- 39:58Speaker 1: do that with all of you guys. But it is
- 40:00Speaker 1: also a good lesson in casting or if you're up
- 40:04Speaker 1: for a role, you guys right at the beginning, because
- 40:06Speaker 1: I saw the producers sessions, you know, so I wasn't
- 40:10Speaker 1: even watching to the network tests, which where you guys
- 40:13Speaker 1: were really on roll by then. It was so clear
- 40:17Speaker 1: that all of you should have those parts, you know,
- 40:21Speaker 1: And it's just I wanted it, so I remember wanting
- 40:24Speaker 1: it so bad. I wanted it so bad. It was like,
- 40:27Speaker 1: and I went, I've said the story before. I went
- 40:29Speaker 1: up against my friends that day and uh, some friends
- 40:33Speaker 1: of mine, and I remember I remember being like, they
- 40:36Speaker 1: don't want it as bad as I do, dude, and
- 40:37Speaker 1: nobody wants it. That's bad. So so what was your story?
- 40:40Speaker 1: Have you talked about? Like, yeah, absolutely, we talked about
- 40:43Speaker 1: we've we've we've told it before. But so haven't you
- 40:47Speaker 1: read the script? Can you tell me quickly? Yeah? I
- 40:49Speaker 1: hadn't read the script. I just auditioned for It's me.
- 40:54Speaker 1: I just had an audition for. I remember auditioning for
- 40:57Speaker 1: Bill and Danny Rose. That's what I really remember. For
- 41:01Speaker 1: some reason, Danny Rose was in the room, and uh,
- 41:06Speaker 1: and I remember Bill laughing at everything, and so my
- 41:09Speaker 1: confidence was through the roof. And he was like, all right,
- 41:12Speaker 1: let's meet again. You know. My agents were like, you
- 41:14Speaker 1: got a call back for it, and I went in
- 41:17Speaker 1: the callback and it was Bill once again, and he
- 41:20Speaker 1: was like so I'm gonna bring you in front of
- 41:23Speaker 1: the network and everything. You're gonna test for this, but
- 41:26Speaker 1: I just wanted to rehearse this with you, so you
- 41:29Speaker 1: had so you were ready to go when we go
- 41:31Speaker 1: into the audition, and I did, and we rehearsed it,
- 41:36Speaker 1: and I went in on the audition and I blew
- 41:38Speaker 1: the audition. And never in my life has anybody ever
- 41:42Speaker 1: come up to me, like within the half hour that
- 41:45Speaker 1: we're all they're testing, after everybody went in. I never
- 41:48Speaker 1: had anyone come up to me. After he called me
- 41:50Speaker 1: out in front of everybody, like Donald, come on, come here,
- 41:53Speaker 1: let me talk to you. And I remember all of
- 41:55Speaker 1: them making faces like, oh ship. I guess he got
- 41:58Speaker 1: the part, but I would saying, oh ship, I'm the
- 42:01Speaker 1: first one going home. And he takes me into the
- 42:03Speaker 1: hallway and he says, uh, you blew the audition. You
- 42:07Speaker 1: know you fucked up the audition, right? You do know
- 42:11Speaker 1: you sucked up right? Right? It was it was sincerely,
- 42:13Speaker 1: it was clearly. It was just like Bill Duke in
- 42:16Speaker 1: uh Minister Society when he's talking to dude at the
- 42:19Speaker 1: police station. See, now you know you don't sucked up now, right?
- 42:22Speaker 1: And I said I said I did, and he said, yeah,
- 42:24Speaker 1: you know, you were very big and very you know,
- 42:28Speaker 1: I needed to come in there and do it like
- 42:30Speaker 1: you've been doing it before. All of the stuff that
- 42:32Speaker 1: you talked about, Zack, you know you did it at
- 42:35Speaker 1: the table read you know you did at the rehearsal
- 42:37Speaker 1: this way, you know what I mean, Everything that you
- 42:39Speaker 1: guys just talked about, you actually had. In this instance,
- 42:42Speaker 1: he had he had made you progress so far because
- 42:46Speaker 1: he you were doing we loved And when Bill told
- 42:48Speaker 1: this story, he said, you know, he gave you some
- 42:51Speaker 1: bit of direction that and you were nervous and it
- 42:53Speaker 1: made you go just to volume eleven and he was like, bro, bro,
- 42:56Speaker 1: bring it down, bring it down right. Well, yeah, you
- 42:57Speaker 1: know when somebody says, make sure you're talking to the
- 43:00Speaker 1: back of the room when you're doing your stuff, don't
- 43:03Speaker 1: tell me that. Don't tell me that. Manny had a
- 43:07Speaker 1: similar tale. Wait then you went in and did you
- 43:12Speaker 1: kill it? I don't know if I killed it, but
- 43:15Speaker 1: I definitely got the part. I'll tell you that. Like
- 43:17Speaker 1: I know that Bill. Whatever they were thinking about me,
- 43:21Speaker 1: Bill convinced them that I was the right person for
- 43:23Speaker 1: the part, you know what I mean. And I know
- 43:25Speaker 1: that because after the audition, you know, the call came
- 43:28Speaker 1: in that I got it. But I remember leaving and
- 43:31Speaker 1: not necessarily feeling like I got the part, even though
- 43:33Speaker 1: they sent everybody home and Sarah and I and this
- 43:37Speaker 1: other dude were there, uh you know we you know,
- 43:41Speaker 1: Sarah said something like, well, I guess we all got
- 43:43Speaker 1: the I guess we got the part. In my heart,
- 43:45Speaker 1: I was like, I didn't get the part. Dude, I
- 43:46Speaker 1: kind of sucked up, and he told me I fucked up,
- 43:49Speaker 1: you know what I mean. And then when I got
- 43:51Speaker 1: when my agent called and told me that I got
- 43:53Speaker 1: the part, that's when I was like, oh, ship, he
- 43:56Speaker 1: somehow made this happen. Like if he wants it to
- 43:58Speaker 1: happen for you, he's gonna make it happen. And he's
- 44:01Speaker 1: done it several times before. You know, there's times where
- 44:04Speaker 1: you know, I've I've done pilots with Bill like I was.
- 44:07Speaker 1: I did the pilot for Undateable, you know what I mean.
- 44:09Speaker 1: He was like, Donald, come in, there's a role. I
- 44:12Speaker 1: want you to do it. The network doesn't NBC doesn't
- 44:16Speaker 1: know that you're coming in. You come in and you
- 44:18Speaker 1: just read with christ' Liah and I was like, alright,
- 44:21Speaker 1: Bet and I did it. They were like, we can't
- 44:23Speaker 1: have Donald Phazon, who was just on your last show
- 44:26Speaker 1: in your next show. Dude, that's impossible. We can't do that.
- 44:29Speaker 1: But you know, it was great to see him. And
- 44:32Speaker 1: then you know, he did another pilot, UH called spaced Out,
- 44:36Speaker 1: and at the time I wasn't working, and he was like, Donald,
- 44:39Speaker 1: I got a role for you, then why don't you
- 44:41Speaker 1: come in, you know, play this role on spaced Out.
- 44:43Speaker 1: So like when he and I didn't have to test,
- 44:46Speaker 1: I didn't have to do anything for that one, and
- 44:48Speaker 1: this was this was one of the stars of the show.
- 44:50Speaker 1: And so when Bill wants it to happen, if he
- 44:53Speaker 1: if he wants you to be in something, he's gonna
- 44:55Speaker 1: do everything that he can to get you into that
- 44:59Speaker 1: into series. I think it's safe to say that he's
- 45:01Speaker 1: a big fan of Donald Fazon. I agree. He loves
- 45:04Speaker 1: all you guys. I mean, I think all you guys
- 45:05Speaker 1: are going to be having to work with Bill for
- 45:08Speaker 1: the rest of your lives. Well, I love it. You know.
- 45:10Speaker 1: I went and directed his new show that he's doing
- 45:13Speaker 1: with Jason Sadakis when I was in London, and Uh,
- 45:16Speaker 1: I had an amazing time with working with him. I
- 45:19Speaker 1: missed it. We we fell back into this groove of
- 45:23Speaker 1: just sitting next to the monitors and pitching jokes and
- 45:26Speaker 1: coming up with cool stuff. And I really, I really
- 45:29Speaker 1: love collaborating with him so much. All right, let's get
- 45:31Speaker 1: to the episode. I know, but now you took us
- 45:33Speaker 1: down in nostalgia lane and I'm feeling all like like
- 45:36Speaker 1: like like my heart is. We've been talking for forty
- 45:38Speaker 1: nine minutes, and we know we have a legendary Krista
- 45:41Speaker 1: Miller bro Like I said, we could talk for days
- 45:44Speaker 1: about a lot of people on my Instagram, right, Zack
- 45:47Speaker 1: stop saying that we that you're going too long. We
- 45:50Speaker 1: love it, and I that's that's fine. So I just
- 45:53Speaker 1: there might be other people who were like, brow my
- 45:56Speaker 1: run is an hour and a half, and keep it
- 45:57Speaker 1: to an hour and a half. Somebody, you know, somebody
- 46:00Speaker 1: told me that I told you this, that they didn't
- 46:02Speaker 1: like me do an oper voice. Yeah, but I told
- 46:04Speaker 1: you that's like someone saying they don't like um, you
- 46:08Speaker 1: know Caddyshack, Like, shut the funk up, it's genius, it's genius.
- 46:14Speaker 1: We've got christ I was hoping Krista would get her
- 46:20Speaker 1: opra voice. Alright, alright, so we start the episode with
- 46:24Speaker 1: now A J. D and Elliott are friends again. That
- 46:27Speaker 1: was a pretty quick bout of a couple not talking
- 46:30Speaker 1: to each other right there, just back into like being
- 46:32Speaker 1: BFFs again. Well, I think after what happened in the
- 46:35Speaker 1: episode where your teacher died, thanks changed, we're two episodes
- 46:40Speaker 1: at and after that, aren't we? Um? I don't know.
- 46:43Speaker 1: I was just had this first reaction after introducing the
- 46:46Speaker 1: Hey number one number two guy. Um uh that like, Wow,
- 46:50Speaker 1: we're just bantering like we're all buddies. There's no there's
- 46:52Speaker 1: no awkward, awkward blood between us. Now. I remember the
- 46:55Speaker 1: number one Hey number two guys. Do you remember his name?
- 46:57Speaker 1: Because we hung out with that guy after work one night,
- 47:01Speaker 1: just just you, me and him. I looked it up.
- 47:04Speaker 1: We did remember, I don't remember, and I remember that
- 47:07Speaker 1: was the first I remember. That was one of the
- 47:09Speaker 1: first people that guest starred on the show that we
- 47:12Speaker 1: hung out with. His name is I don't know. I
- 47:14Speaker 1: hope I'm pronouncing it right. Eric site s A I E. T.
- 47:20Speaker 1: And he did a fantastic job, by the way, with
- 47:21Speaker 1: a tricky part. I think you know it's it's can
- 47:24Speaker 1: be very cringe e if someone is playing a handicapped
- 47:26Speaker 1: person and doing it in an awkward or disrespectful way.
- 47:31Speaker 1: I remember thinking at the time, this is tricky. You
- 47:34Speaker 1: want to do justice to someone who's mentally handicapped. But
- 47:37Speaker 1: also this guy has jokes, um and uh. And I
- 47:41Speaker 1: remember thinking, even at the time and even watching it now,
- 47:44Speaker 1: that he did a really really good job. Anythink, yeah,
- 47:47Speaker 1: you know that story is from I do remember that
- 47:50Speaker 1: it was some some real life story. Do you remember, Yeah,
- 47:53Speaker 1: I do, So don't sit too far away from your
- 47:55Speaker 1: mic though, Darling. Sorry. Um. Bill was married before and
- 48:02Speaker 1: his when he went to meet his new wife's family,
- 48:09Speaker 1: his new wife had an older brother who had special
- 48:13Speaker 1: needs and his name was Bill, and he was so
- 48:17Speaker 1: bummed that Bill was coming in and that there were
- 48:21Speaker 1: two Bills. He didn't want to talk to Bill. It
- 48:23Speaker 1: was the whole thing. And Bill said to him, how
- 48:25Speaker 1: about you'll be Bill number one because you're the main,
- 48:29Speaker 1: and I'll just be Bill number two. And Bill said,
- 48:31Speaker 1: which was great, he thought he was the hero. Was fabulous,
- 48:34Speaker 1: he goes, But then from then on, every eight seconds,
- 48:39Speaker 1: hey number one, and Bill would say, hey, Hey, number two,
- 48:43Speaker 1: eventually it's like, hey, number two. But it's so sweet.
- 48:49Speaker 1: I don't know if you get but at the end
- 48:50Speaker 1: when you make up with him, it's so sweet. When
- 48:53Speaker 1: you go in, it's very sweet. And and and again
- 48:57Speaker 1: I think he did a I would be I would
- 49:00Speaker 1: want to do that part because I were, I would
- 49:01Speaker 1: just be in my head that I wouldn't do it justice.
- 49:04Speaker 1: And I thought that Eric, Eric did a great job.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Um at fifty eight seconds, a couple of things. Not
- 49:09Speaker 1: only is there another janitor which you're in the background,
- 49:11Speaker 1: which you very Not only that he's in a different
- 49:15Speaker 1: color uniform he's with it's tan. And did you notice
- 49:19Speaker 1: that he's sweeping the air? I did not notice that.
- 49:23Speaker 1: Very often for those who don't know when background performers
- 49:25Speaker 1: are doing their thing, they don't want them to make
- 49:27Speaker 1: any noise, which can be tricky if you if you're
- 49:29Speaker 1: if you're tasked with did did you see this? And
- 49:32Speaker 1: did you get this from scrubs Wicky? No? I got
- 49:35Speaker 1: I got some other good stuff from scrubs Wicky. But this, dude,
- 49:37Speaker 1: if you stop, if everyone wants to appreciate this, at
- 49:39Speaker 1: fifty eight seconds, this gentleman is sweeping the air. Maybe
- 49:42Speaker 1: the air was dirty. But I didn't know. Uh, I
- 49:50Speaker 1: didn't know what was going on with that guy. He
- 49:52Speaker 1: I don't know who put him in bait? Did you
- 49:54Speaker 1: we we were If we know one thing, we know
- 49:56Speaker 1: that the janitorial staff wears gray. I wonder how that happened.
- 50:01Speaker 1: I wonder if they were like, we don't have we
- 50:03Speaker 1: we don't have Neil today and we need somebody in
- 50:05Speaker 1: the background sweeping like who whose idea was it? Because
- 50:09Speaker 1: Neil's always dressed up as the janitor in the show,
- 50:13Speaker 1: and you never and you never ever saw um. I
- 50:17Speaker 1: don't remember ever seeing janitorial staff in the background that
- 50:21Speaker 1: weren't Neil. Do you know? I don't know. Maybe I'm
- 50:25Speaker 1: wrong and very interesting. That's a scrub that's a Scrubs
- 50:27Speaker 1: Wicky question. So, Krista, we have a new thing now
- 50:30Speaker 1: where you know, we do the ask Bill thing and
- 50:33Speaker 1: Bill will audio tape him self answering the question. But
- 50:36Speaker 1: now there's a guy who runs a Scrubs Wicky fan
- 50:39Speaker 1: page that just knows every single little bit of Scrubs
- 50:41Speaker 1: trivia and he's down with us asking him random trivia
- 50:45Speaker 1: questions when we don't know them. I wonder if we'll
- 50:47Speaker 1: ever get to stump him. We're gonna stop him. That's
- 50:50Speaker 1: gonna be one of our tasks. I wonder if we
- 50:52Speaker 1: should we should think of what the sound effect is
- 50:54Speaker 1: going to be. There should be like a siren or
- 50:56Speaker 1: a bell, some sort of prize noise if we stump
- 50:58Speaker 1: scrubs Wicky guy, how about them? Look, Judy gives it
- 51:02Speaker 1: one thirteen when a guy calls her nurse Fajita. Yeah,
- 51:10Speaker 1: duty's look, he's so fucking funny. She's just just a
- 51:13Speaker 1: slow turn, like will I will fucking kill you, But
- 51:21Speaker 1: go ahead, just a whole there's a whole runner on
- 51:24Speaker 1: this show. I'll kill you. By the way, this delay
- 51:27Speaker 1: is not that bad. We were on the view for
- 51:29Speaker 1: this podcast and the delay. I worry we funked up
- 51:32Speaker 1: because the delay was like a solid second and a half.
- 51:35Speaker 1: And it's very hard to be funny and talk with
- 51:38Speaker 1: people when there's a serious delay. We have a slight
- 51:41Speaker 1: one on the zoom thing. But but we Donald and
- 51:43Speaker 1: I did our best. But we were on the view.
- 51:44Speaker 1: Everyone's going, well, no, no, no, well you go I'm sorry.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Well right, but Donald's mom finally watched. She doesn't listen
- 51:52Speaker 1: to the podcast, but she doesn't. She was like, your
- 51:54Speaker 1: energy on the view, you guys, you guys interview very well.
- 51:57Speaker 1: By the way, we finally got Donald's mom that we
- 52:00Speaker 1: finally got surely to pay attention to us, and all
- 52:02Speaker 1: we have to do is go on the view. Yeah
- 52:05Speaker 1: all right. Um, what I was gonna say is that
- 52:09Speaker 1: there's this sub there's this plot of this episode, which
- 52:12Speaker 1: I'm sure is a very real thing for medical professionals
- 52:15Speaker 1: when what happens when your patient is a fucking dick
- 52:18Speaker 1: um and you still have to give them the same
- 52:21Speaker 1: level of attention and affection and uh and and commitment
- 52:26Speaker 1: and uh and j D and and Carla are both
- 52:28Speaker 1: trying to to take care of this guy, but he's
- 52:31Speaker 1: racist and he's a jerk and uh and j D
- 52:35Speaker 1: is really they're both challenged with how do we do
- 52:37Speaker 1: our best with a guy who's saying ship like Nurse Fajita. Yeah,
- 52:40Speaker 1: that's a that's a tough one. You know, I hate racism,
- 52:43Speaker 1: and I hate racist and I hate biggots and I
- 52:46Speaker 1: hate you know, I hate all of that. Ship To
- 52:48Speaker 1: watch something like this and to still have to, like
- 52:52Speaker 1: it would suck to go to work and have somebody
- 52:55Speaker 1: say things to me, that made me, That made me
- 52:58Speaker 1: so angry that I wanted to explode. And I imagine
- 53:03Speaker 1: for people that work in the hospital, whose jobs where
- 53:08Speaker 1: all it is your job is to take care of
- 53:10Speaker 1: the patient and save lives, and you get that one
- 53:14Speaker 1: person who is just you know, who's like this guy is,
- 53:21Speaker 1: how do you how do you commit to doing your
- 53:23Speaker 1: best at that moment in time for that person. I'm
- 53:26Speaker 1: sure sometimes to energy, I'm sure sometimes you have to
- 53:29Speaker 1: bite your fist. My mom used to be a the
- 53:33Speaker 1: the listen to this, the night nurse, the head night
- 53:37Speaker 1: nurse on the mental health ward of a v A
- 53:42Speaker 1: hospital in Easterne, New Jersey, and she had the most
- 53:47Speaker 1: insane stories. Now, granted, these these these these men and
- 53:51Speaker 1: women are very mentally ill, some of them, and and
- 53:55Speaker 1: it was always her job to not take it personally
- 53:59Speaker 1: and to take a deep breath and to give them
- 54:01Speaker 1: the best care that she could. And my mom was
- 54:03Speaker 1: an incredible, incredible nurse. But this story made me think
- 54:06Speaker 1: of that that you can imagine some of the treatment
- 54:10Speaker 1: she had to endure um and uh and and she
- 54:14Speaker 1: had to always suck it up and let it just
- 54:16Speaker 1: wash off her back. You're going to get extra good
- 54:20Speaker 1: attention if you're lovely as a patient, I would imagine, yeah,
- 54:25Speaker 1: absolutely you are. I mean my father was a surgeon,
- 54:30Speaker 1: so I know, but I mean, you just are going
- 54:31Speaker 1: to get that extra attention. Why people aren't savvy enough
- 54:36Speaker 1: to my father was when my father was dying, he
- 54:40Speaker 1: was in the hospital and he used every technique he got.
- 54:42Speaker 1: I mean, hey, he was the most you guys know,
- 54:44Speaker 1: he's the loveliest. He was the loveliest, most charming guy.
- 54:46Speaker 1: But he was also the biggest Scrubs fan in the world.
- 54:48Speaker 1: So anyone who came in, whether it was the janitor
- 54:51Speaker 1: cleaning the garbage, can't be like, hey, my son's Zack
- 54:53Speaker 1: Braf Scrubs. I must assigned a Scrubs headshot for every
- 54:59Speaker 1: single person in the New Jersey healthcare system. Oh, Bill
- 55:03Speaker 1: drops Scrubs pretty much instantaneously. You know I'm doing anything.
- 55:08Speaker 1: You just had to get a root canal thing. He
- 55:11Speaker 1: was talking about Scrubs. I was it all the time, Like,
- 55:15Speaker 1: I use it all. I use it all the time
- 55:17Speaker 1: whenever we have like when we take our kids into
- 55:20Speaker 1: you know, urgent care or something like that, or the kids.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Peter Tristan does a lot of golf tournaments and stuff
- 55:26Speaker 1: like that for charity. And I'm always using my scrubs
- 55:32Speaker 1: just and and and playing golf obviously too. But I
- 55:35Speaker 1: love it that you're like you started as those he started.
- 55:39Speaker 1: He started out to make sure his kids got good healthcare,
- 55:43Speaker 1: and then it became to play golf. Well there's that.
- 55:47Speaker 1: There's that too, but for for sure, man like, I
- 55:51Speaker 1: just know, I just know that, you know, you, especially
- 55:55Speaker 1: in that professional, treat somebody like you want to be treated.
- 55:57Speaker 1: It's like the same thing when you go to a restaurant,
- 56:00Speaker 1: what asshole since there and says, you know what, I'm
- 56:03Speaker 1: gonna treat this waiter like shit and doesn't expect their
- 56:06Speaker 1: food to get spit on or something. I was a
- 56:10Speaker 1: waiter and I and I never understood the people that
- 56:15Speaker 1: were assholes because there are plenty of people that would
- 56:18Speaker 1: fuck with your ship and do not. It's like, when
- 56:22Speaker 1: I leave this area, I'm gonna go and tell all
- 56:26Speaker 1: these people what a dick you are. So when so
- 56:29Speaker 1: when watching the show and this guy is saying all
- 56:32Speaker 1: these things, I'm like, this dude wants to die. He
- 56:34Speaker 1: must want to die, or there's no way that you
- 56:38Speaker 1: could be that insensitive go get me my fucking thing.
- 56:42Speaker 1: Go do this for me. Shut the funk up you.
- 56:44Speaker 1: I don't understand how you do it. Yeah, nurse Fajita,
- 56:47Speaker 1: I mean, come on, come on, you're gonna get punched. Listen.
- 56:51Speaker 1: How about Kelly Williams as Kristin Murphy sucking on her
- 56:54Speaker 1: finger uh in a in a manner similar to Fallacio,
- 56:59Speaker 1: in order to lure Johnny c over to her house.
- 57:03Speaker 1: But I was watching, I gotta say, I don't like
- 57:05Speaker 1: being I wouldn't want someone sucking their finger and then
- 57:09Speaker 1: touching my face. That didn't work to turn you on.
- 57:20Speaker 1: It did smell like spit sll like. What's crazy is
- 57:26Speaker 1: that there's no way that was written. So I'm just
- 57:27Speaker 1: trying to figure out how that came about, Like did Kelly?
- 57:31Speaker 1: She must have improved that. There's no way it's said
- 57:33Speaker 1: in the script. And then she sucks her pointer finger
- 57:37Speaker 1: as in a in a seductive manner and touches his nose.
- 57:43Speaker 1: I really want to know how that about. I don't know.
- 57:48Speaker 1: She really resists that woman. She she comes on so strong.
- 57:53Speaker 1: It says a lot of that's what she said, jokes
- 57:55Speaker 1: and everything. It's like it's like a it's like a
- 57:57Speaker 1: single man's wet dream right there. She's giving you all
- 58:01Speaker 1: of this energy and he wants to go lift a
- 58:05Speaker 1: dresser with Carla the way I had totally forgotten. I
- 58:09Speaker 1: know he's talking about this. I had totally forgotten how
- 58:12Speaker 1: fucking obsessed he is with Carla, and this episode like
- 58:15Speaker 1: brought it to a new level. He's got this beautiful
- 58:17Speaker 1: woman sucking on her finger telling him that she's coming over,
- 58:21Speaker 1: and and and and she said, she said to him,
- 58:25Speaker 1: she said to him, you're gonna be he said, he said,
- 58:29Speaker 1: you gotta slow down, and she said to him, you're
- 58:31Speaker 1: gonna be saying that tonight. Dude. Second, anyone did anyone
- 58:39Speaker 1: notice how adorable I look in this episode of She doesn't.
- 58:43Speaker 1: He doesn't. He doesn't care about Kelly Williams. I love
- 58:48Speaker 1: how Chris is like, guys, yeah, guys, I don't want
- 58:51Speaker 1: to I don't want to be say the obvious reason,
- 58:55Speaker 1: right right, But Krista, this is before you come into
- 59:00Speaker 1: a picture. But he knows that there's a possibility that
- 59:02Speaker 1: I'm coming over. You texted him, Ear what you doing?
- 59:11Speaker 1: He is so show let's go so but he so
- 59:18Speaker 1: pe whipped that he's gonna help Judy Carla move addresser
- 59:22Speaker 1: and uh and and he's Porsche, by the way, which
- 59:25Speaker 1: is not a very good card for moving a dresser.
- 59:27Speaker 1: They're gonna strap it to the roof. Who would ever
- 59:29Speaker 1: strap up dresser to the roof of their point? But
- 59:33Speaker 1: somebody who's desperate for that for that anyway, go on, Yeah, alright,
- 59:40Speaker 1: our guest is here. We're so behind. We were three
- 59:42Speaker 1: minutes in and our guest this here. So we do
- 59:44Speaker 1: a break and then we're gonna come back with more fun.
- 59:48Speaker 1: Uh and we're gonna hear christ to talk about how
- 59:51Speaker 1: she seduces men, including Johnny and Bill Lawrence. Right back,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: we're bad kind what's that man? How you doing? How
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: do you say your name? Oh? It's just Austin. It's awesome.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: It's set something different on your screen five seconds ago. Dude, Yeah,
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: that's um. That's because I usually use them to play DND,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: so it's my DND name becoming a running theme on
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: this podcast. And Donald, you're not going to go off
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: on some crazy long dice tan no, no no, no, no, no, no,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: no no no no. All right, well, well, don't you
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: steal Donald's opra voice, but introduce Austin to us. Hey, guys,
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: we've got Austin in the house. Big fan. Austin. You
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: want to tell the guys a little bit about why
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: you're a fan of Scrubs. Oh yes, sure, So I
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: got into Scrubs when I was a kid. I'm only
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: like twenty nine. I don't I don't think you're allowed
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: to say twenty one and only in the same sense.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: I think only it's sort of done at twenty. Yeah,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: only and I'm just sorry, no, no, it's super chill um.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: But my mom was a big fan of the show.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: My mom was into a bunch of the doctor shows.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: So I just watched it all the time with my
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: mom and I got really into it, kept watching it forever. Great,
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: you got your headset on. You a gamer too, I am.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: I'm a gamer and I like streaming junk. So I
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: got these like big, big big, they are big. And
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: what do you play? What do you what do you
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: stream and or play the most? Because Donald's a gamer
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: and uh or e c us TV before you had
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: so many kids to deal with kids, But what do
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: you play with? Donald will probably know what it is,
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: uh the game? So I mean right now when I
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: play the most of them I don't know anything about
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: animal crossing. Christie, your kids probably playing on crossing. I
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: don't know from video games. Okay, but um, what can
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: you donald? Do you know animal crossing? I have no idea.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: What often can you tell us what what the basic
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: idea of animal crossing is? Yeah, so the basically of
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: animal crossing is you're a human and you have a
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: bunch of anthropomorphic animal friends and you all live on
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: this this game it's an island. Sometimes it's a town.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: They test you, the human of like making the town nice,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: and that's kind of it. You just you design this
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: like town to look how you want, and you just
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: like invite friends. Yeah, it's like it's like the Sims,
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: but you can invite can't you go visit people and
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: really talk to strangers? You can if you want to.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: You can invite friends over. You can go to other
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: people's islands. It's it's really like it's a lot like
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: the SIMS, but like if you wanted to let like
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: a six year old play the Sims on supervised, Like,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: animal crossing is pretty safe. Bet they can't get into
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: too much like weirdness. Yeah, I remember when my sim died.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: I got really upset. You don animal crossing things? Yeah, see,
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: you can kill your SIM. I don't know if you
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: guys are killed the sim. I've never killed. I've never killed.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: Did they build the graveyard in the backyard. That's what
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: the graveyards are for. That's what the graveyards of. Well,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: you're smiling. Have you ever killed a sim? Yeah? Actually,
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: instead of getting animal crossings, my brothers and I have
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: been obsessively playing SIMS four and he built a basement
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: that they could not get out of the basement. It
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: was great, So I thought I was I was shocked.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: I was like, you can kill a sim. Yeah, you
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: can kill your sim. Don't walk him in the basement. Austin,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: where you where are you calling from? Men? I am
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Michigan in the house right on, Austin.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: Do you have a question for the legendary Donald phase
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: On or Christa Miller or you can ask me too.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: I I do have a question for Zach and Donald.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: I was just curious, like, um, what y'all missed the
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: most about not being on scripts anymore, Like not being
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: on a project together. That's like in person filming all
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: the time. This when you're hearing Austin, it's the question
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: to answer, and it's this. It's like if you just
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: you weren't on before, but just sitting around with Krista
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: and Donald and cracking up, that's what we would do
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: every day, and just so happened that we'd also be
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: making a TV show. Um, but we were just like
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: it was a group of friends, not just the cast,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: but the crew and the writers. And I don't know
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: they'll ever be lucky enough to have a job where
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: the assignment is to go and laugh your ass off
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: all day. Yeah, we really I really missed that. It
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: was like a natural drug. It was like an all
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: natural drug that has gone from my life. I mean,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: just cracking up five days a week. And and because
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: because we get the opportunity to do this podcast, we
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: get to relive it all again, you know what I mean.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: And it's really awesome. We were before you came on awesome.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: We were talking to Christa about things that had nothing
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: to do with the show, and we're just pretty much
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: catching up. Even though I've talked to we talked to
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Krista like recently, we're still on. You know, now that
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: we have mics in our face, we're like, let's let's
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: just let's talk some more. Let's talk about some great
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: times we had. So don't you miss that, Krista giggling.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: I could do this podcast every day, guys, Very excited.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: Christ is the first guest in Fake Doctor's Real Friends
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: history that's been was booked twice before. She she's gonna
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: she and Bill Lawrence are going to be on the
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: finale of season one together, and I predict mayhem. I
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: hope that Bill asked for a stop hug during the show.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: Oh he will? You know? You know what it was
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: is that Scrubs. Also, I don't know if that I
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: worked on a job before where we were truly friends
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: and truly friends. You're all in this hospital and and
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: and you're not seeing any other people, so you're in it.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: You're doing this funny work, which you know when you're
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: doing it is really funny, right, and and all the
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: people around are funny. All the writers were talented, all
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: the actors are talented, and you could go and be
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: stupid if it didn't work out. That was fine because
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: everyone was doing it. And I just felt like my
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: um work got so much better every time I would
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: work on that show because everyone would elevate you. You know,
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: there wasn't like the week link that you didn't you know,
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: want to be with, and it was it was such
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: a special time. We would we would finish the show
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: and then hang out on weekends. Like when does that
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: ever happen again? I don't know. I mean maybe if
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: you're on location somewhere with someone, but but yeah, it was,
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: it was. It was just a it was just a
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: once in a lifetime. I hope it's not a once
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: in a lifetime experience. I hope I get to experience
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: something especially again. But I just can't imagine that I'll
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: ever have such a group as we did. Yeah, we
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: were very lucky, and the tone was of like camaraderie
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: and support if anyone did something, don't you know what
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: it was. It wasn't the person there that wanted to
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: have all the jokes or was trying to steal focus
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: or doing all. Everyone was happy for everyone else to
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: be funny. Yeah, and you got a sense like this
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: is this person's time to shine, Like don't get in
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: their way, let them, let them crush it. And we
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: were like rooting each other. One got another question, my friend,
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: I do have another question. This one's from my mom. Uh, because,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: like I since you got me into the show. So
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: when I found out to call because a mom's boy
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: is Donald and I are my mom. Just wanted to
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: know what was everybody's favorite uh episode of film, Christy,
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: you want to go first as our special guest. UM
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: favorite episode? Um, I loved that scene that I tell
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: everyone off and ruin everybody's life. Ever everybody's a big monologue,
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: just destroy everybody. Yeah, and then I tell her. But
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: I also will say this the moment that I wish
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: I could do over as I I don't feel like
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: I took a good advantage of being able to have
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: a proper makeout session with Zach Brath. Oh my god,
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Like, I just it just
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: got really uncomfortable. I just feel like I didn't investigate
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: that as thoroughly as I wanted to. By the way
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: she says the ship in front of Bill, can you
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: imagine what dear listeners, imagine how awkward it is when
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: she says the ship in front of Bill and she
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: She'll be We'll be standing there. It will be like
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: a dinner and she'll be like, you know, Bill, I
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: just I wish I just didn't save her the time
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: the scenes, I didn't save her. I didn't say one
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: more take. I didn't like get into it. I didn't,
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: you know, I should have said one more take and
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: Bill and Bill and Bills just standing and just Bills
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: just standing there shaking his head and I'm like to
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: shut the funk. And I was like, Zach was a
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: little nervous. Maybe we could revisit it now. Oh, I
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: got it so awkward right now? Did you guys get off?
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Um My Donald, do you want to go? I know
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: what my favorite episode to shoot was the musical episode.
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: I really enjoyed that there are a bunch of things
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: that I got to do on this show that we're
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: bucket list type things like I wanted. I've always wanted
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: to be in a Star Wars and I got to
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: do that very early on in this show. One of
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: my favorite actors in the Whole Wide World is well,
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: I should say characters in the Whole Wide World are
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: characters that Harrison Ford has played, and Indiana Jones was
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: one of them, and I got the opportunity to do
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: that as well. But I really, most most of all,
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: I enjoyed doing the musical episode and having to dance
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: and sing. You know, I front like I tell people
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: ask me, are you a fan of musical theater? And
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: I'll lie and I'll say to them, absolutely not, I
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: hate musical theater. You don't say that anymore. I still
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: say that to people. I'll be like, why why I
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: I say that a lot. Yes, Donald will get in
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: his car without his kids and play Frozen. I will
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: do I would do that, not not only Frozen. I'll
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: play like I'll play I play a MS in the car.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: I played five guys named Mo in the car like I,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: I go all in. But UM, I really enjoyed dancing
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: and singing and uh with with with these guys. It
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: was a lot of fun. My favorite episode is the
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: one we've mentioned before. It was my first episode directing UM,
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: and it was one of the most epic episodes we've
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: ever shot because Bill wanted to give me something that
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: was quite literally impossible to execute in five days. UM,
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: but I was living my dream. I was working on
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: the show that I was so proud of and excited about. UM.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: The episode was huge. It's the one where Donald and
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: I go on a quest over the course of one
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: night to find Heather Graham's character Molly to give her
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: the permission slip um from Sarah that says I'm allowed
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: to have sex with her. And Johnny's storyline is that
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: he has to go do a ride with um in
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: an ambulance as part of his training, and Molly Shannon
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: was the guest star. And I don't know, I just
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: really it turned out really great. And Um, as Donald's
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: reminded me at some point, said, do you say it?
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: I was treated by a ko Donald? I was treated
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: by a where have you been? I was treated by
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: a coyote? I go, I go, I go, I go
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: to How the hell did you get up there? I
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: was treated by a I love him When Donald does
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: his wood, I was treated. I was treat So that
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: was a really great episode and I just felt really
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: proud of it and I pulled it off and it
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: was one of those things where, um, it's one of
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: my favorite episodes. We'll give you one question if you
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: have h well, that was just you. We didn't tell
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: the guy he was going to have three days. Um,
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: how are people staying sane in this pandemic? You know,
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: this is an escape for us to be honest with you,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: this if I didn't have this outlet, you know. My
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: wife said to me actually this morning, she was like,
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: you don't understand, man. You have an outlet. You get
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: to talk to your best friend, and you get to
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: talk to the people that you worked with for over
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: ten you know, for ten years. You get to talk
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: to them once or twice a week. I don't have
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: an outlet like that. So she's going insane right now,
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: you know what I mean. And and she's with the
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: kids while I'm doing this right now. But this is
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: an escape for me, and I wish I could bring
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: my wife up in here so she could enjoy this too,
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: because she would have such a great time. She would
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: come on one day. I just realized she would love
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: to come on. Hilarious and so funny. She should also
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: embarrass the ship out of me too, talking about me, uh,
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: talking about things that we're gonna have to do. We
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: should one day, like if we keep doing this, we
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: should do like the significant others guests, right, and how
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: they dealt with We'll test it out with Bill and
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: Christa on the on the season one finale and see
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: how it comes. But awesome, That's how I me too,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: Me too, I'm the same way, man, I look so
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: forward to this, and especially seeing the reaction to it
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: and people loving it so much. It's just it's mind
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: boggling to us. And so it is. It's like therapy.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: We come here and we laugh and and and giggle
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: and act stupid and I'm really loving it, saying how
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: are you staying? Saying over there, Um, I've been writing
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: with someone. I've been Um, you know, all my kids
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: are here. It's you know, in l A. We have
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: a good set up. You know, we have croquet in
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: the backyard. We play croquet every afternoon. Um. We had
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: a very rousing game of code names last night, which
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: was very fun. Um. You know, I'm happy just doing
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: by the way we as we started the show, Austin,
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: you weren't here. But there are certain people that are
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: so happy, you know that they don't that the world
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: has given them permission to not have to leave their house.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: And Chris is one of those. She's like, oh, no one,
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: no one gets to tell me that I have to
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: go do things. I'm fine, thank you, Yeah, I'm totally fine.
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: What about you, Austin, how are you staying? Saying? You
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: know a lot of video games, a lot of I
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: picked up like a bunch of extra tabletop gaming besides
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: D and D SIN since I'll started, Um, what's one
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: you can recommend to our listeners? But that's not too
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: hard because I know some of these tabletop games are
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: very complicated, like D and D. But if someone if
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: someone who's listening, including myself, wanted to kind of get
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: into the world of tabletop gaming, what what is one
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: or two that you recommend? Uh One, I really commended
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: bubble Gum Shoe. I'm running that down. It is can
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: kids can play it? You play as a teenage detective. Um,
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: so your team detective and the rules are pretty simple.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: The character sheet I have mine right here, it's like
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: a single page. Um, it's not a bunch of complex rules.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: You have to remember a bunch of matthe you gotta do. Um.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: So there's there's that one one about another one Bubble
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Gum Sho. I wrote that down. Another one is uh no,
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: thank you Evil. I believe the name Thank you Evil.
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: Can my kids play that too? Your kids can play
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: that one too. It is in all ages tabletop RPG
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: game that scales the rules depending on how old the
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: kid is. But you should be writing this down because
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: Donald could have like forty players at his house. Man, alright,
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: there's not that many of us. Listen, Casey got pregnant
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: like while we were on this podcast. Um, what about
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: Settlers of Catan? I hear about that. It feels like
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: that's the most famous for us non board game people.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: That's the most famous one you hear about. Do you
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: like that one? I don't like Settlers of Catan. Nothing
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: against the artists who worked on it or the team
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: who made Sorry I just already interrupt, but both of
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: our producers, they're just yeah, I want you to know
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: that all of our producers sometimes have their cameras off.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: They both flipped their cameras on to show how fucking
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: limits Dan's coming back, Dan, you gotta come back and
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: walked away. Joel almost fell off her chair. Uh, Dan,
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: I'm just a humble fan. I mean, I love Settlers.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: Oh my god, No, it's fine. I just want you
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: to know you gave both of our producers a heart attack. Yeah,
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: I'm not a big fan of Settlers of Oh my god,
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: saying against I know now that the show Joel just
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: Joel just left the room. She had to go off. Um, yeah,
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: that that big on Settlers are well listen, I'm here
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: to tell you. I'm here to tell you everyone. I
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: don't know sellers we can, but I can tell you
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: that are very strong opinions on both sides of loving
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: or hating Austin. We gotta go because we've already run
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: so long. Thank you so much for coming, thanks for
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: being a fan, and uh and uh and and thanks
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: for the recommendations on the games. Yeah, thanks so much.
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: Do you want to mention your Twitch stream? Oh yeah,
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: I stream with Welcome to the Party RPG every Saturday
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: at eight pm is some standard time where you can
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: Watchally play Bubble. Well, there you go, guys. I think
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: Kristin will be definitely tuning in and and uh no,
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: but I'd love to watch you play. And I can't
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: wait to tune in to watch you and Joel and
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: Dan play Settlers with Catan uh and have them have
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: them change your mind on Thank you everybody. I'll have
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: a lovely day. Um wow, I've now we've been doing
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: this for eight seen episodes. I've never seen Joel or
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: Dan get that worked up about anything. They got very
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: worked up just now. Joel gets worked up when we
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: talk star Wars I know, but I gotta tell you
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: that was the best adver sailors in good Tan I've
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: ever seen ever in the history I know. But we're
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: going to get them as an advertiser now because our
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: producers flipped out, all right when the janitor says, this
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: stethoscope is mine, and then he says into the stetoscope,
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: it's getting hot. Red Bird pulled me out. That ship
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: was funny, I laughed. I left at that too. That's
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: clearly a Neil improv because there's no way that was
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: written into the script. I like that, I do. I
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: did love the c story because I of Donald and Sarah,
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: of finding out about Ken Jenkins musical past. But I
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: do love Donald and Sarah together. The chemistry with the
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: two of them is very unique, I wrote, I wrote
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: at the end of this, I wrote, I really enjoyed
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: watching Sarah and I together. Uh, and we didn't get
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: to do a lot. I don't recall us doing a
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: lot together while making the show. So going back and
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: seeing this, it was like, holy sh it. We had
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: a good little, uh dynamic duo thing going. Yeah, and
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: it's a it's a it's kind of an unusual chemistry
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: it's it's definitely different in a way, like you're both
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: kind of silly, Like there's some bumbling element to it
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: that's very funny. Like you have a line reading when
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: you're you're still holding onto her finger because she swore
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: to you that she wasn't going to do and then
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: a second she sees ken she's She says, I heard
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: you did the music and you went you you swore
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: I didn't notice that they were We're still holding each
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: other's and then I pull away. You swore like. I
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: enjoyed that a lot. Going back and looking at this,
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: who knew Kim Jenkins was that good of a guitar player, Dude,
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: I knew he had a great voice. I forgot that
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: he could play the guitar like that. Dude. It sounded
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: like he was he was blues and out man, he
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: was going hard. Was that actually him playing? Yeah? Yeah?
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, um, you know it's funny. Most of
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: the cast um, with the exception of Sarah when we
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: did the musical, could really sing yeah, had had some
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: form of musical talent. Although Sarah does dance in this episode,
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: Sarah can dancer. Dance in this episode is very adorable.
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: I told her I told you so dance. Yeah, I
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: told you so. I remember that went. That went a
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: lot further, but they cut it for the episode, Like
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: she gets into the full splits when uh and and
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: when we would play the the gag reel, and they
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: let that thing go. At one point she got all
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: the way down into a full split. But I guess
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: for the show they felt it was going. So if
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: you're into did you guys can watch the Blooper slash
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: gag reel of season one and there's probably video of
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: Sarah doing extending that dance for a long told you
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: so told just all the way down to the split. Yeah,
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: she's so adorable when she dances. She's so adorable in general.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: I know I miss her, I really, you know. She
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: We don't get to see Sarah that much because she's
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: often in Canada. But when when the world's not closed down,
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: you know, we see Krista and Bill and obviously um
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: Donald and I see each other. We don't ever see
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: Chalky as we call her. Yeah, I do miss her,
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: you know what? You know what I missed this year
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: was the Easter. Yea often has a beautiful Easter party
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: with bunnies, with bunnies, bunnies. Everyone. Everyone was sad, and
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: I thought we would do it this summer, like, but
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: we can't. So we're just gonna have to wait till
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: next year. In the Easter book, this year is amazing
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: and I have I was just thinking as I was
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: talking to you, guys, I have to send you some
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: of the pictures because I have pictures of you and
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: Zach and Johnny that are so sweet, like you just
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: have your arms right, like really sweet pictures. I love
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: that party you have, and every year that I'm going,
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: I'm like a little kid because I'm like, I'm excited
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: to see everyone, but then in my head, I'm like, bunnies.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: My kids love that party so much. They can't you know.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: There's the Easter egg hunt. There's you know, there there
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: are bunnies, there are goats, there are a bunch of
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: different animals, baskets. Oh my gosh. They for the love
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: and for the adults alcohol, alcohol, but also everyone knows
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: each other. It's kind of a great groups comes. It's
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: just all good. You guys throw a really good party.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: I think when the world opens up, you should throw
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: a bash. Okay, Bill um So Christa Miller booty call
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: is at It's a great entrance. Christa. You walk, you
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: walk right in. You're like, you don't even knock on
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: the door. You're like, let's do this. Hey, honey, honey,
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: I'm home. That's what she says, Honey, I'm home. She
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: goes right to the bar starts pouring herself a drink.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: He says something stupid. She's like, if you're gonna talk
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: like that, I need to pour me a bigger drink. Yeah,
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: oh my god, so boring. You know, we never learned
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: about Jordan's other love interests. I mean, clearly Jordan's was.
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: I'm sure not solely using Dr Cox as a booty call,
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: or maybe she was. I don't know. What do you think.
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: I don't think so. No. No, do you think, well
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: we saw you, you were one of the booty calls? No,
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: I was never your booty call. Well, yeah that's true.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: You are. Sorry? Sorry sorry I was? I was. I was. Um. Yeah,
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: so I think she's having her way with lots of men,
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: probably right, but she's thinking the back of her mind.
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: Did Jordan thinking the back of her mind that she
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: was going to get back with Cox eventually? Uh? I
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: don't I don't know. Um, it's always crazy people that
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: get divorced and then get remarried. That's such a also.
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: And Johnny C also had like four or five vasectomese
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: and then reversed with sectomes to for you though, yeah
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: for me, yeah, yeah, can you really reverse the vasectomy
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: with I mean you can write. Yeah, that's what the
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: doctor said when he did mind. He told me, don't worry,
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: we can reverse this ship and really, oh yeah, and
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: anytime and when Casey starts getting itchy again, we might
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: have to do it. That's all I know. Now, bullshit,
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: we're not gonna have no more kid. You crazy. It's
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: a shame that you sniffed yourself. Donald, you make such
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: beautiful children. They're so beautiful. Thank you very very much.
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: And I know it's expensive, but you know, next time
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: you get some big gass job, you're gonna be like,
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: I need to plant my seed. Donald. How many kids
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: you have? Yeah, it's up there now. I mean I
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: see like twelve of them at Easter, which makes me happy. Yeah,
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: and then the other and then the other, uh, the
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: other thirty something tell us about the Holy son of
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: a cracker, because that that that I remember when I
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: had to say that. And you know who gave me
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: that was Bill Lawrence. Bill Lawrence. Yeah, there's no way,
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: Bill Road. Holy son of a cracker. Bill Lawrence on
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: set came to me and said, say, holy son of
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: a cracker. I was like, what say, holy son of
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: a cracker? Jorge Jefferson used to say cracker all the time. Yeah, man,
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: it's a rock you know. Okay, So look, for those
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: of you who don't know, I think cracker doesn't mean
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: anything when somebody says the cracker is somebody of the
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: opposite race who cracks a whip on black people's that's
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: where cracker comes from. You and and and you are
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: below other white people because all you are is a
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: whip cracker. I see. So that's what you're calling j D.
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: J D is called just calling your best friend. I'm
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: just putting it out there. So when Bill said that,
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: I was like, really he was like saying. I was like, okay,
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: but don't you think isn't it the fun the most
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: fun part in Scrubs When Bill would you'd be doing
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: a joke and Bill whisper something in your ear and
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: he'd say, don't say anything, So you haven't told anyone
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: that you're going to change the queue line for them,
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: and then you say something like son of a Cracker
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: and then everyone laughs. It's the it's the best, it's
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: the best feeling. You know. Who would never laugh though,
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: is fucking Neil Flynn. You couldn't never say anything where
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: he'd be like, I didn't think that was funny. You
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: caught me off guard. He would always be right away
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: ready to go again. Krista, was it Stuff or Maxim
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: Magazine that you were on the cover of. I was
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: the first Maxim magazine cover girl. Okay, that is awesome.
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: That's amazing. Bill said. He used to walk around town
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: holding the magazine talking about this is my my girlfriend.
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: Did have you seen a new MAXIMU my girlfriend? Yeah?
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: That was that was really fun and cool. Yeah, so
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: holy son of a Cracker. And I remember also that
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: day you were there were we were doing the scene
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: and we tried to convince Lawrence Trilling to who directed
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: this episode, to put lotion on the side of the bed.
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: So when Turk rolls over and says to Carla, hey,
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: so you know, since we're up, and she goes no, no, no,
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: Instead of him going back to sleep, we tried to
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: make it so that I rolled over and then squeezed
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: lotion into my shot. That we definitely shot that. We
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: shot that. Yeah, we definitely didn't want us. That was hilarious.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: That was one of those things where he was like,
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: you know, I showed it to Kristin and she was like, yeah,
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: Christina didn't like him masturbation. Um so, speaking of that tree,
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: when I come in and my my parents are playing
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: wheelbarrel and that's that's me, the voice of my own father, like,
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: go back to bed. I'm fixing mommy's back. Which is
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: very interesting because the very next episode, John Ritter. Yes, John,
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: it's such a shame that we can't. I didn't even
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: know who to have on. I actually thought about having
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: his son on, but then I thought, I don't know
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: if Jason even watched an episode of Scrubs, but we're
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: gonna have to turn that episode of into just a
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: a beautiful memorial Christa in bed with Johnny C. He's
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: ripped Christo. So if you're gonna have a scene partner,
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: at least you get the very muscular Johnny C. Yes,
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: and I imagine this was one of those days where
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: you're like, dude, if you put all of that fucking
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: grease on your body, I'm gonna kill you. He would
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: also do lots of push ups right. Yes, you're. One
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: secret for you young actors out there is that if
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: you do lots of pushups right before you're seen, at
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: least makes you look a little bit more ripped. But
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: not that Johnny. You needed to help. He's pretty damn ripped.
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: But Johnny would always bang out a whole bunch of
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: push ups. But I did notice that this is one
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: of those episodes where the Chrisco was light. It was light.
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: It was light light. You guys will have to have
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: me on when you when we when you get far
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: way farther down in seasons. What I had to come
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: in after giving birth to Will two weeks after giving
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: birth to Will and roll slide around with just looped
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: up another show. So he would just he would make
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: his muscles glisten or no, I think it's supposed to
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: be post sex. You're supposed to be sweaty, right, his
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: muscles glistened? Dude? Al right, Well, he a man likes
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: to listen. If you have those pectoralis majors, shine them up.
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: Let's see it. Donald, I laughed when you said, have
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: you guys ever stopped with think that maybe Bunny is
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: just a real bunny? So dumb? That was like, yeah,
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: he's so dumb. Watching that, I was like, what, So, Christia,
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: do you think that she was jealous? But then was
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: the last thing in the world she was gonna do
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: is let him think that she was jealous? Of course, Well,
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: this is my motto in life. Also, so that was
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: sort of method acting. Yes, it was, Um, that's so funny.
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: And also speaking of very Christa things, when you're in
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: the cafeteria at sixteen o nine and they get into
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: fight and you go, I should leave, And then when Christie,
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: when Christie here's a big, good, good bit of gossips
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: and kiss her fingers like like like she's licking off
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: the juice. She'll do this space John, when you put
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: your and I literally wrote down, I literally was down
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: in my notes. That is so Cristal being like I
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: should leave, but not leaving, not leaving at all all Right,
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: how did they do the sweat thing on you? Dude?
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: There was like a little hidden hose, tiny little hose
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: in my hairline, and uh, I think that's how it
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: was done. And then it just drips it just open
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: it up. And that was crazy. That was well done.
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: Also when you got on the elevator, this is an
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: argument in Bill's favor where maybe the janitor is in
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: j D's mind, because I think this is the this
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: is the one time where he gets, hey, hey, killer,
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: how you doing after you're very very uh destruct because
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: you feel like you didn't do enough for the patient
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: who just died. And you walk onto the elevator and
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: the janitor is there and he's like, hey killer, and
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: and it sent you even right, and that that too,
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: and then you walk out, see you later, killer, That's true.
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: Christa makes a good point. How would he even know
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: that I lost the patient? He just knows everything. He's
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: all knowing that channel. He's yeah, but um, but we've
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: already proven that time and time again. Donald, I'm just saying,
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: this is one of those moments where this is one
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: of those moments where Bill doesn't even have defenses anymore.
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: He just yells five six seven eight, right, Christie. I
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: don't know if you know this, because I don't know
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: how much you're listening to this, but Bill y seven
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: eight to start our theme song has become a fan
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: favorite joke on my Instagram. Every other comments just five
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: seven eight, which is a shout out to your husband.
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: He wanted me to do that today and I said, no,
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: we made a rule. We made a rule. Um, you're
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: allowed to count in. I think you should count in
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: when we're done to the show. We we decided in
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: the world of the podcast, Bill is the only one,
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: because he's the creator of the show, with the power
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: to start the theme song without our permission, right, Donald, Yeah,
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: he's the only one. Like I don't even get the
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: power to do that unless it's for the show, and
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: and yes, if it's not at the end, Yeah, Bill,
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: Bill has magical powers. You can always start. He's the
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: only one that can do that. That didn't look like
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: a firing squad either, but that joke was hilarious as fuck.
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: Uh okay, I'm okay, I'm okay, I'm okay, I'm okay,
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: I'm okay. And then they catch them the firing squad.
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: You know, they're putting the blind photo. It looked like
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: a comedy club with the spotlight on you and everything,
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: and so when you go, I'm okay, that ship had me.
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: I laughed so fucking hard at that dude, that was
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: I'm okayed backdrop was a mistake, because you're right, it
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: looked like a comedy club. They need a different backdrop
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: for the for the I don't know what the correct
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: backdrop for firing squad is, but brick wall is not it? No,
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: I don't think so or whatever. But I thought that
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: was hilarious. So then Ken sings and it's very beautiful
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: and and he's the song of the He's the song
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: of the episode in this I don't even know if
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: that song is a is a made up song or
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: this might be a good question for should ask have
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: Christa asked Bill? He's not gonna remember, He's just gonna
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: say five six, seven eight, But should we We wanna
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: be fun of christ to asked Bill a question? Do
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: you I mean I can intercom him in his office?
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: Oh yeah, let's see if he'll answer in his get terror.
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: Here we go, all right, let me see what is
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: it called me? Scroll down my mansion, billiards, billiards, indoor pool,
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: outdoor pool. We have a question for you. We're on
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: the podcast on Theodust right now. You're on the podcast.
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: What the song that Ken Jenkins sings at the end
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: of one eighteen. Is that a made up song? Or
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: is that a song? Hard? Yeah, we're taping you now,
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: tu glous Heart, it's um it was a made up
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: song and we're just goofing around with it. And he
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: helped us come up with it because he always justus
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: have been on his guitar and he was a Broadway thing.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: And uh, the second that I asked him um to
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: do it, He's like, should be something like this, and
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: they went off. No matter what you do, no matter
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: keep giving. How many chances can we give him? How
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: many chances? You know what? I feel like, It's like
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: Lucy and Peanuts with the football. I mean, how many
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: chances are we going to give this? We never learned,
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: We never learned. Great great episode. I did find it
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: funny that Johnny c has just had sex with Jordan
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: twice and then he's looking for boobs on TV. I
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: mean I didn't understand that either. I didn't understand thing.
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: I was supposed to say. That he's lonesome and that
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: he's that he's this booty calls you, but you guys
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: aren't getting back together, and so he you've sabotaged his
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: chances with this woman and now he is just back
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: on his couch alone, trying to look for boobs on TV.
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: But my brain went like, dude, you just had sex
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: twice with Jordan, who's such a babe, and like, now
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: you're on your couch looking for boobs on TV. That
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: makes no sense. Yeah, unless you have Manald libido, it
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: makes no sense. Well even with my libido. After three times,
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: I'm good for a while, dude, at least at least
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: for an hour, for a few hours. Hold up, Charlotte,
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: you're being Charlotte's being a little loud outside of my office.
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: Charlotte can make a cameo if she wants. Bart came here.
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: We'll give her a chance to plug her music. Yeah,
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: come say hi to the Zach's podcast. To Zack and
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: Donald on it right now. Yes, we're on it right now.
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: What's some booty hole? There's no there's no videos, Charlotte,
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: So you can look all the booty hole you want.
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: Can you guys hear me properly? We can hear absolutely.
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: You know. I follow you on Instagram and I love
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: your music. Thanks, Donald, I follow you too, Charlotte. Charlotte,
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: like millions of people listen to this, so you have
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: to tell them where to find your music. Um, look
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: up Charlotte Lawrence, guys and have fun with it. Charlotte
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: Lawrence on Spotify, Apple Music, everywhere. We knew this this
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: this girl when she was a baby. I would be
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: on scrub sets when I was little. Wait, do you
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: know what people might not know? It's a little fun
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: fact is at the end of every Scrubs episode when
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: it says douser, when it's like the end credits, you
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: hear bye bye, and it's me from when I was
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: two years old on the scrub Wicky Scrubs Wicky didn't
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: know that, Um and Charlotte, didn't you do a cameo
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: when you were like a little bit when you were
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: a little older, like as a little girl, didn't you dance? Yeah?
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: I just posted it for Mom's birthday. It was like
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: Jordan's had a flashback and she imagined she had her
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: own talk show and then she was talking to some
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: girl and was like, you're boring as hell. Just watch
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: me dance with a little girl who looks just like
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: me instead. So I came out and I remember I
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: got to skip school for it. Even I was like
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: the happiest I've ever been. Because my school had like
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: really serious uniforms that you had to follow, and I
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: showed up to school like in makeup and hair, in
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: the full app but I was like, yeah, guys, I
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: was working. I was acting. That was probably the beginning
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: of you wanting to go into being a performer. Like
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: it was definitely it was too happy being in front
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: of the camera dancing. I was like, please just keep
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: finding me. I never wanted you guys are run. Yeah
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: it was so fun No, but it was so funny.
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: My mom was like, okay, like I brought your uniforms.
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: You can change in the car when he went back
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: to school. I was like, no, no, no, I'm acting.
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: I'm an actor and everyone needs to know that I'm
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: an actor. Now. Well, we miss you. We love We
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: miss your whole family. Donald and I. We wish we
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: could come over and hang and miss you guys so much.
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: My uncle's my my family. I was so sad when
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: Easter came along because we always have the most fun.
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: I think we talked about it on the podcast The
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: Party of the Year, Party and bunnies and bunnies and goats.
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: In my mind, the bunnies are always at your house.
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: Just underneath the house. We let him out only in easter.
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: All right, Darling, put your mom back on so we
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: can close the show up. We love you, I love you, guys, by,
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: I love you, Mama, I love you. We take the
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: doggies out and and Christie is such an amazing momager.
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: I want everyone to know that she's wearing a Charlotte
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: Lawrence hoodie. Yes, of course, represent represent Christa was so fun.
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: We went I think the longest we've ever gone ever
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: and um, but the fans seem to love that, and um,
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: and thank you for coming on. Um, I have more stunt,
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: I have more stuff to ask you, but I'll wait
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: until the season finale. I worry that Bill is going
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: to just hog all her air time. So Chris, to
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: make sure that you give them lay down the rules
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: that there is room for you to speak. I will,
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: I will tell you that he said before it came up.
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: Make sure to tell them that that that that outfit,
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: you know, like men's pants and a tank top, is
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: my favorite sexiest outfit. And I was like, I will,
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: and he goes, well, I'm also telling you, do you
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: remember you know that men's pants at a tank top?
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: I'm like, I got it. We're in quarantine. I'm in
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: two pants, but I'm wearing my daughter's hoodie. Cool. That's funny,
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: So we know that. A little trivia about Bill. He
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: likes a white tank top on his on his on
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: his gals. Yes, that's what he likes. All right. Um,
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: thank you guys for listening. Chris to get ready because
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: you're gonna five seven eight, U is in uh. If
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: you have questions, go to scrubs, I heart at Gmail,
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: tell us on Instagram, anything you want to tell us.
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: That's the last thing. Donald and I I think you're
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: still reading these days. We really appreciate you all listening.
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: Tell your friends because this thing is blowing up and
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: we want everyone to know about it. We're having so
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: much fun. Yeah, and and and and you know Hayter's
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: gonna hate and we understand that. Yeah. And if you're
