- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: I was an army brat.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: My dad was 20 something years in the United States Army and we had acronyms all the time.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: DOD, Jag, J, A, G, M, W, R, you fill in the blank.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: There's all
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: kinds of acronyms.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I could tell you what all of them mean, but I remember hearing them all the time, but that foamal fear of missing out.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: If I think that's more of a modern acronym that somebody came up with, not too long ago, but have you ever had that before?
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: been thinking, I don't want to miss out, so I'm going to go do something even though I don't really want to do it, but I'm going to follow along with the crowd because I don't want to miss out and appear pressure.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: It can be difficult sometimes, right?
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: But fear of missing out, it's a real thing.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: People don't want to miss out, especially on good stuff.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: Once in a lifetime opportunity meeting a famous person, just a great meal, and you talk about food around me, I have a fear
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: we don't want to miss out on interesting opportunities or something we've never experienced before.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: Fear of missing out.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what about if you and I, this would be a sad thing, a bothersome thing.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: We're in Mark chapter 8 today.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: It would be a bothersome thing.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to look at a city an entire people that missed out on a miracle.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't want to miss out on a miracle, would you?
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: That would be horrible to think that Jesus Christ was with us, was among us.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: and then to miss out on a miracle?
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: But you realize though Jesus Christ has ascended back to heaven, he's now in it.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: The right hand of the Father, he sent us a comforer.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: He sent us the Holy Spirit.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: He sent us one who in this day, I'm not talking about laying all of hands and casting out demons and all of that sort of thing, but I'm talking about the miracles that God does.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking about the amazing things,
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: because of unbelief.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: And we're gonna look at a people that for whom that happened, they missed out on an incredible miracle.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: They never even got to see it because of their unbelief.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I encourage you today to have, if you will, I can use a modern vernacular, the modern acronym.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to have Phomo.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: I want you to have a fear of missing out on what God can.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: do.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we'll give a personal illustration here in just a little while as well.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: Now, before we go any further, let me tell you about a gospel tract.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_01]: I've got one of my hands right now.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: I alluded to it yesterday on a program, but I want to give you a little bit more of an in-depth explanation about your decision, 2020-4.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: No, this is not a political ad.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's not paid for by a candidate.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: This is a gospel tract.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: Your decision, 2020-4, and this is a unique
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: gospel track number one, it's time sensitive.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: We need to get them out all of them that we haven't stocked by the end of our printing and distribution.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: We will have put out over 100,000 of this gospel track before the election on November 5th Lord willing.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like you to be a part.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: But this gospel track talks about the fact that who sits in the old office is not as important as who sits on a throne of your life.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: Your eternity is worth far more than a four-year
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: This Gospel track, though, we've bolstered it, we've strengthened it a little bit, we have the physical, folded Gospel track like you're probably used to from Bible tracks incorporated, but we've done a few different things.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: We have a digital version of this Gospel track.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: That means you can go to yourdecision2024.com, yourdecision2024.com, and you can actually see a digital Gospel track.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: Now what does that include?
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: Not only is it a digital gospel track that you can read through online, but you can also watch a gospel film that we've created going right along with this track.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: You can watch a video version of this gospel track.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: What I like to ask you to do is this go to your decision, 2024 dot com, and see that digital version of it, but then go to bibletracksink.org, maybe an order sum of this gospel track.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: right now like the rest of our gospel tracks.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: Your decision 2024 doesn't do anyone any good on the shelves of our warehouse.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: So I'd like you to go Bibletracksink.org right now order some of these great gospel tools we've already known of some people coming to know Christ through them order now Bibletracksink.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: And make sure you visit your decision 2024 dot com your decision 2024 dot com to see that digital track remember you could text that directly to friends and family members of yours You don't even have to give them the physical version.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: You can text that to them.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: So we'd ask you to do that as quickly as possible Go to mark chapter number eight.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to look at verse number 22 verse number 22 of mark eight and he come with the best aide and they bring him a blind man under him
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: and brought the besat him to touch him.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: And he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: And when he had spit on his eyes and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: And he looked up and said, I see menace trees walking.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: After that he put his hands again upon his eyes and made him look up, and he was restored and saw every man clearly.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: And he set him away to his house, saying, neither go into the town nor tell it to any in.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: the town.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you notice here, it's a little things that we can often skip over.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's in Beth's area.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's specifically and purposefully takes the man by the hand.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: He was blind.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: He couldn't find his own way to some degree, now without stumbling, and took him very purposefully out of the town.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: And then, after he does the miracle, he
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: He tells him don't go into the town, and don't tell the people of the town apparently it's likely that this blind man didn't live in Bethsaida.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: And so he told him when you go home, don't go through, don't go into the town, go home.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: Where did this come from?
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: Where did he did Jesus have something against Beth Seda?
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: Well, go back to the book of Matthew, book of Matthew chapter number 11, and look at verse number 21.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: Matthew 11, 21 of you are your Bible already for you.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: Well, unto thee, Corazon, well unto thee, Beth Seda, for if the mighty works which were done in you have been done in tire and sighted, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: But I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for tire and sight and at the day of judgment than for you.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: And thou, Copernium, which already exalted unto heaven, shall be brought down to hell.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: For if the mighty worksheet which had been done in thee had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: Now think about this for just a moment.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_01]: We're not going to go deep deep because we just want the time for it, but I think you'll understand.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: Tyre and Sidon were pronounced, the judgements were pronounced against them, back in the Old Testament, and judgments against them were performed.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: These cities, great, though they once were in man's eyes, really, they're by words now, they're a warning.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what Jesus is doing.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's telling them, here in a companion, Mark Matthew, Mark Luke and John, they tell the story of Jesus to somebody from different perspectives.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus is warning Bethsaida.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: Because of your unbelief, the amazing things have been done here.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: If Tyre inside and had seen these things, they would have repented.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: They would have taken them as from God, but you, your hearts are so hard and then you cappernium, your hearts are so hard and then Sodom would have been around Sodom and Gomorrah.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: That place?
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: If they had seen what God could do, God's telling us that they would have remained because they would have repented, they would have gotten right, but you, and so I wonder, I think to you and me, especially as Christians.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: we've seen.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: We know God has worked.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: He has worked inside us.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: He has changed our wicked hearts.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: He has caused us to turn from darkness to the light.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: He has brought a new man to us.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: We are no longer just the old man.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, the old man fights day by day with a new man.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: Through Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit can have victory if we so choose.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: And we know we've seen what he can do and yet, and yet,
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: Often times we miss out on the miracle, do you have a burning fear of missing out on what God could do?
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm convinced that if we did, we'd approach what God has for us in a different way, because there are times that God is going to lead us to take a step of faith,
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: we miss out on the miracle.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: I've given some personal anecdotes this week.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: I talked about how God led me in our family to Bible tracks and corporate and amazing story.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: You can hear about that one in the archives of this broadcast on a YouTube or on your favorite podcast player.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: You can find all of the archives.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: But yesterday I talked about how God brought my wife through a huge health
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: Today I, to be blunt, I can't give you details, but I'm thinking back right now to an occurrence.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: Didn't happen too long ago.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: I was specifically praying.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: I was in a conversation.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I was praying about how to bring up a sensitive, a difficult conversation, a difficult area that we need to talk about.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: and I didn't have peace about just bringing it up out of the blue.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: We were talking about another serious conversation, another serious issue and the Lord just gave peace.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: He gave peace to me so much so that the other person I was talking to brought up the very topic I wanted to talk about and asked a leading question.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: I believe it was all of the
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: It was, to me, it was a minor miracle.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not even minor.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's diminishing God's goodness.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it was a major miracle.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know how to bring it up.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: And we were able to talk and have phenomenal conversation, Lord Blast, and nothing, nothing of a serious import was discussed, but it was just some of that was on my heart, and had the opportunity to talk about it, and it was a blessing to me, and as I look back on that, I think I prayed specifically for God to open the door, and I didn't kick down the door.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: God did it, as my good friend Bob Duitt says, God does stuff, amazing stuff,
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'd encourage you, friend, don't miss out on the miracle.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: So often I, I'll speak for myself, I can get too far beyond behind God and miss out on the miracle, or I can get too far ahead of God.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: Either way, when you're not walking in his timing.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: when you're not walking with him, you can miss out on the miracle.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't want that for you.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I certainly don't want that for me.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't encourage your friend if you're listening right now.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: And you're wondering, how can I...
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: How can I begin to place more faith in Christ?
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saved, I know I am, friend, it starts with a little miracles.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: If you look around you and you notice the very air that fills your lungs, you notice the beautiful sun, the moon, the
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: What is given us in nature, your family, your church, all those things, and you realize that each of those miracles, you start to stop missing out on the miracles.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: I encourage you don't be like Bethesdaida, don't miss out on the miracles.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: My prayer as always is that you have a great day for His glory.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: We'll plan on talking to you soon, my friends.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: If we can ever be a help to you, don't hesitate to contact us.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: And now it's your will be on to tell you how to do that in just a moment.
