- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty see bill Handle.
- 0:07Speaker 2: It is a top goal Tuesday, May twelfth.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Some of the big stories we're looking at, well, inflation
- 0:14Speaker 3: at three point eight percent annualized, and so that is
- 0:20Speaker 3: not good news at all.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Four prices going up.
- 0:23Speaker 3: And the President is on his way to Beijing today
- 0:25Speaker 3: summit with Chinese leader Xi Jianping. And I think the
- 0:30Speaker 3: President is well. I think he is not holding the
- 0:35Speaker 3: cards here. I think you're going to see an uneven
- 0:40Speaker 3: meeting between the two. Okay, Now, one of the things
- 0:45Speaker 3: I said prior to the break is we're in the
- 0:47Speaker 3: middle of a gubernatorial race and it's wide open, wide open.
- 0:52Speaker 3: We don't even know if a Democrat is going to
- 0:54Speaker 3: be on the ballot because, as I've talked about before,
- 0:58Speaker 3: our system in California passed by the Democrats saying the
- 1:01Speaker 3: top two candidates who get the vote go on to
- 1:06Speaker 3: the general and could be Republicans because there are so
- 1:10Speaker 3: many Democrats splitting up the vote and only two Republicans.
- 1:13Speaker 3: So here is what's going on with particularly Democrats. They
- 1:20Speaker 3: promised the moon. The problem is, how do you pay for.
- 1:24Speaker 2: All of costs? Very costly.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Sacramento's current programs, well, no one can come up in
- 1:31Speaker 3: that answer. Newsome and the legislature have dug into the
- 1:35Speaker 3: state into really deep financial holes and severe deficits spending
- 1:42Speaker 3: and why because they've never met an entitlement program they
- 1:46Speaker 3: didn't like.
- 1:47Speaker 2: We as.
- 1:50Speaker 3: The electorate, we vote more taxes over and over again.
- 1:56Speaker 2: And so how do we get around this.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Well, programs have to be cut, taxes have to increase,
- 2:05Speaker 3: the government legitimately legitimately has to be more cost effective
- 2:10Speaker 3: and efficient.
- 2:10Speaker 2: All three of them almost impossible. And so look what
- 2:15Speaker 2: we have.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Excessive borrowing, program delays, no outright eliminations. Every time we
- 2:22Speaker 3: have a bill of this passes, or tax that's passed
- 2:25Speaker 3: that sunsets, they're supposed to sunset, it doesn't. It absolutely doesn't.
- 2:31Speaker 3: I remember there was a tax for education the teachers,
- 2:37Speaker 3: and it was supposed to sunset, and it didn't, and
- 2:40Speaker 3: of course we voted for it, not the sunset, and
- 2:42Speaker 3: the teachers union said you got to pass it because
- 2:44Speaker 3: not one penny more of your taxes are going to
- 2:47Speaker 3: be spent, not a penny more.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Well, the point is they were.
- 2:51Speaker 3: The extra taxes were put in, and we're supposed to end,
- 2:55Speaker 3: and of course they didn't. The non Parson Legislative analyst
- 3:00Speaker 3: estimated that the d deficits are going to run from
- 3:04Speaker 3: twenty to thirty five billion dollars and the financial commitment
- 3:10Speaker 3: commitments are not sustainable, and mopping up the red ink
- 3:15Speaker 3: is going to be very, very difficult and one of
- 3:19Speaker 3: the big issues. And this is something that none of
- 3:21Speaker 3: the candidates are even talking about or figuring out how
- 3:24Speaker 3: to pay.
- 3:25Speaker 2: One of them is single payer.
- 3:29Speaker 3: No one wants to say national medical plans single payer,
- 3:34Speaker 3: and this is just the state of California. And single
- 3:37Speaker 3: payer takes away private insurance. It takes away for the
- 3:40Speaker 3: most part, co pays and the state becomes the insurer.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Oh my god, how horrible is that. Now, keep in
- 3:49Speaker 3: mind this is going to cost money. It's horrible. We
- 3:53Speaker 3: have the best, the best medical care in the world. Okay,
- 3:58Speaker 3: I'd like to talk to the those people who don't
- 4:01Speaker 3: have insurance and can't afford it and can't afford going
- 4:04Speaker 3: to the doctor. I would like you to email me
- 4:08Speaker 3: and tell me how we have the best medical care
- 4:10Speaker 3: in the world where you can't afford to go to
- 4:13Speaker 3: the doctor, and when you do, you have to literally
- 4:17Speaker 3: go bankrupt. Why is every country in the in the
- 4:23Speaker 3: industrial world, in the industrialized world able to pull it
- 4:27Speaker 3: off with single payer and we can't. Oh, because it's socialist,
- 4:33Speaker 3: it's because it makes no sense. It's because we can't
- 4:37Speaker 3: afford to do this, Okay, And so where's the money
- 4:41Speaker 3: coming from?
- 4:42Speaker 2: In general?
- 4:43Speaker 3: Well, right now, the revenues are pretty good because the
- 4:47Speaker 3: stock market and income is pretty high in the state.
- 4:50Speaker 3: And since the state receives the vast majority of its
- 4:54Speaker 3: revenue on income tax, and when the economy goes south,
- 4:59Speaker 3: even a little bit in come tax drops.
- 5:01Speaker 2: What do you have.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Well, you have all those programs that have been passed,
- 5:05Speaker 3: all of those programs that must be paid for, and
- 5:09Speaker 3: all of those new programs that.
- 5:12Speaker 2: No one can afford, certainly the state. I mean, this
- 5:16Speaker 2: is absolutely crazy. Where's that stat that I was looking at?
- 5:22Speaker 3: And that's since twenty nineteen under Newsome, the state general
- 5:27Speaker 3: fund spending has gone up by one hundred billion dollars
- 5:33Speaker 3: to two hundred and forty eight billion. In the latest budget,
- 5:36Speaker 3: it's gone up thirty percent. It's unsustainable and there's no answer.
- 5:43Speaker 3: And you can't be elected if you say we have
- 5:45Speaker 3: to cut not in this state, we have to cut
- 5:48Speaker 3: we have to raise taxes. Well, that's a tough one
- 5:52Speaker 3: because we happen to like taxes for some reason. In
- 5:54Speaker 3: the state, every Democrat is a Democrat elected legislature. There's
- 5:58Speaker 3: a super majority, so the people who vote and our
- 6:03Speaker 3: legislature and the governor just loves taxes. And we, of course,
- 6:07Speaker 3: by far the highest tax in the United States, our state.
- 6:13Speaker 3: And so you're going to hear I'm going to do this.
- 6:16Speaker 3: I'm going to do that. I'm going to make our
- 6:18Speaker 3: state a cheaper place to live in. I'm going to
- 6:22Speaker 3: do more for the people of California with less money.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I'm going to get rid of fraud and waste.
- 6:29Speaker 3: And then you ask, how is it going any of
- 6:32Speaker 3: it going to be paid for? And anybody says, we're
- 6:37Speaker 3: cutting programs, we're getting rid of the social programs. You
- 6:43Speaker 3: don't get elected saying that you don't and now we're
- 6:48Speaker 3: back to free pizza. That's what I'm going to give
- 6:52Speaker 3: you and elect me.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Now.
- 6:55Speaker 3: One of the things to deal with the cost of
- 6:58Speaker 3: gas line because as you know, well big secret, right,
- 7:02Speaker 3: the cost of gas has exploded. What the President wants
- 7:05Speaker 3: to do is pause the federal gas tax he's proposed that,
- 7:10Speaker 3: and the federal gas tack is even so he said
- 7:13Speaker 3: it's a small amount of.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Money, it's not.
- 7:16Speaker 3: I mean, if he passes this, if he pauses a
- 7:20Speaker 3: federal gas tack, it's eighteen cents a gallon. That's not
- 7:23Speaker 3: a small amount. And now it requires congressional approval. And
- 7:29Speaker 3: it's the latest in a string of interventions to address
- 7:33Speaker 3: the fallout from the war. I mean, across the board,
- 7:37Speaker 3: the war is going on. We're in month number two. Remember,
- 7:40Speaker 3: are supposed to disappear two to four months, two to
- 7:44Speaker 3: four weeks.
- 7:44Speaker 2: It was going to be over, although it was over day.
- 7:46Speaker 3: One, and the various enrichment facilities in Iran were decimated,
- 7:53Speaker 3: and then they're not decimated. And so who the hell knows?
- 7:56Speaker 3: Straight of horror moves has been closed. But we control
- 7:59Speaker 3: the straight of horn moves. I mean, it goes on
- 8:01Speaker 3: or nod. So that's all just babel. What is not
- 8:06Speaker 3: babel is the possibility of pausing the federal gas tax.
- 8:12Speaker 3: You know, when the last time the gas tax was
- 8:15Speaker 3: was paused nineteen thirty four. There's been a lot of tax,
- 8:21Speaker 3: a lot of talk about the pausing of the tax,
- 8:24Speaker 3: but it hasn't happened, and of course February eighth, when
- 8:30Speaker 3: the war started, energy prices have spiked like craziest and
- 8:35Speaker 3: and they're keep on going up too.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I mean, the longer the.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Strait of Hormoz remains closed, the more gasoline is going
- 8:46Speaker 3: to cost, because the more oil is going to cost.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Because as we all know by now, twenty percent of
- 8:51Speaker 3: the world's oil production goes through the state of Horace
- 8:56Speaker 3: the Strait of Hormoz, and now it's basically zero. And
- 9:00Speaker 3: then there are the peace talks in the United States
- 9:03Speaker 3: proposed what I thought were not unreasonable demands from Iran,
- 9:10Speaker 3: not crazy at all.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Well, they've come back with crazy.
- 9:15Speaker 3: It's and I think the President legitimately told him to
- 9:19Speaker 3: go pound sand and he said that this cease fire
- 9:25Speaker 3: is on life support, and he's right on that one.
- 9:30Speaker 2: He is right.
- 9:30Speaker 3: I mean, it's I think at this point Iran, even
- 9:34Speaker 3: though it's being said by our government that Iran is
- 9:37Speaker 3: on the brink of collapse, that their entire ability to
- 9:41Speaker 3: attack American forces as well as neighboring countries is basically
- 9:48Speaker 3: over well in reality, and remember, we wiped out their navy,
- 9:53Speaker 3: true wiped out their ability to launch drones not true.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Wiped out their ability to launch missiles.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Not true. They don't have the ability to last much longer.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Maybe true, But keep in mind that is a regime
- 10:09Speaker 3: that can stomp on its own people. And if enough
- 10:12Speaker 3: people go out, if anybody goes out and protests, they
- 10:15Speaker 3: get shot and they get killed, that'll stop.
- 10:17Speaker 2: The protest pretty quickly. And state taxes vary.
- 10:22Speaker 3: The national average is thirty two cents gasoline, thirty four
- 10:26Speaker 3: cents on diesel. But oh, here is a shocker, which
- 10:30Speaker 3: is the highest state tax that exists. Well, I want
- 10:36Speaker 3: I'll have you guests on that one. So, by the way,
- 10:40Speaker 3: in nineteen thirty four, Congress cut half a cent off
- 10:44Speaker 3: the gas tax when prohibition ended. Now, the money from
- 10:48Speaker 3: the tax the tax goes into the Highway Trust Fund
- 10:53Speaker 3: PACE for road public transportation improvements. A five month suspension
- 10:58Speaker 3: reduces revenue by seventeen billion dollars, is about thirty five
- 11:01Speaker 3: billion dollars a year, which is not a whole lot
- 11:03Speaker 3: of money relative to the budget of the United States,
- 11:06Speaker 3: But since the money is dedicated to the highways, building
- 11:13Speaker 3: and repairing highways, the cutting of those funds creates a
- 11:18Speaker 3: huge hole in that budget. Now, interestingly, enough, it creates
- 11:24Speaker 3: a hole where all of a sudden, the government can't
- 11:28Speaker 3: pay to repair the holes.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Huh. See how that works? See how I put that together?
- 11:36Speaker 3: Okay, and now you have some even Republicans are saying,
- 11:41Speaker 3: maybe we have to do this, and most Republicans, most
- 11:44Speaker 3: people have been dead set against it.
- 11:47Speaker 2: So we'll see what happens. But here's the bottom line.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Let's say Congress approves and we're going to go ahead
- 11:53Speaker 3: and cut the gas tax.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Do we pay less?
- 11:57Speaker 3: Well, here's the problem. The taxes collected at the terminal
- 12:01Speaker 3: or refinery.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Not at the pump.
- 12:04Speaker 3: So maybe, and it's probable that we're not going to
- 12:08Speaker 3: see the money going back into our pockets because even
- 12:14Speaker 3: gas stations right now are losing their shirts.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Now.
- 12:19Speaker 3: I travel, as you know, my disposable income, I spend
- 12:22Speaker 3: it on traveling. I don't buy clothes. I do the
- 12:25Speaker 3: at Costco. I shop at Costco and Ralphs, And you know,
- 12:29Speaker 3: I just don't spend a lot of money very much
- 12:34Speaker 3: anyplace else other than I travel.
- 12:36Speaker 2: I love to travel.
- 12:37Speaker 3: So when I go across to Europe and Asia, mainly Europe,
- 12:41Speaker 3: there are three things that Europeans and the rest of
- 12:45Speaker 3: the world look at the United States with you know
- 12:50Speaker 3: some not only trepidation, but sort of what are you
- 12:54Speaker 3: guys doing. One is gun control. They don't understand the
- 12:58Speaker 3: Second Amendment because no one has a Second Amendment the
- 13:01Speaker 3: way we do around the world. Number Two, they don't
- 13:05Speaker 3: understand our health plan. They don't get it as to
- 13:09Speaker 3: why we don't have a national health plan. They don't
- 13:14Speaker 3: understand our conspiracy theories. That we are absolutely massively involved
- 13:21Speaker 3: in conspiracy theories, which are getting bigger and bigger.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Now.
- 13:26Speaker 3: It used to be only the crazy people had conspiracy
- 13:29Speaker 3: conspiracy theories. Yeah, I've often said that the only way
- 13:34Speaker 3: you can get true conspiracy theories were people standing on
- 13:37Speaker 3: the street corner with bullhorns. Well, it turns out that
- 13:40Speaker 3: a whole lot of Americans believe in conspiracy theories. So
- 13:46Speaker 3: there was a survey that was just taken by NewsGuard.
- 13:50Speaker 2: It was released yesterday.
- 13:52Speaker 3: It's a company that rates the reliability of online news outlets.
- 13:55Speaker 3: And therein is the answer as to why we we
- 14:00Speaker 3: are now so involved and so dedicated to the proposition
- 14:05Speaker 3: that all conspiracy theories are legit. Twenty four percent of
- 14:13Speaker 3: Americans believed that the shooting at the correspondencetituter was staged,
- 14:20Speaker 3: and the shooting, the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, the
- 14:24Speaker 3: previous two were staged. Now that is interesting stuff to me.
- 14:31Speaker 3: That really does it's I'm not one that believes it
- 14:36Speaker 3: was staged, because I think that's considra conspiracy theory. Okay,
- 14:40Speaker 3: real quickly, Amy staged yes or no? Okay, and yes
- 14:46Speaker 3: or no?
- 14:48Speaker 2: Yes sir?
- 14:48Speaker 3: Okay, of course it is cono yes or no, no, no,
- 14:54Speaker 3: neil stage yes or no no, okay, and yes or no.
- 15:01Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I wasn't there, okay, Oh great, Yeah, you weren't there
- 15:06Speaker 3: at the moon landing either, okay. And a lot of
- 15:09Speaker 3: people think that was stage.
- 15:11Speaker 2: That was real? Yeah, oh really okay, you think that
- 15:14Speaker 2: was real? Complicate.
- 15:15Speaker 1: It's so much more complicated to stage or do a
- 15:18Speaker 1: conspiracy than people think.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Yeah, let's say the moon landing.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Okay, how many people when they say there's a conspiracy
- 15:27Speaker 3: theory and the moon landing was actually filmed at a
- 15:32Speaker 3: on a sound stage in Culver City, Yeah right, nobody
- 15:37Speaker 3: has leaked any information other than the conspiracy theories saying, yep,
- 15:41Speaker 3: you know.
- 15:41Speaker 1: How many people there about it? As high as I
- 15:45Speaker 1: think twelve percent at one point, depending on the survey,
- 15:50Speaker 1: nine to eleven conspiracy. Oh yeah, job was something like
- 15:54Speaker 1: twenty to thirty percent of America.
- 15:57Speaker 3: And now here is what the White House is saying,
- 16:00Speaker 3: and legitimately, so they're saying. For those who argue that
- 16:05Speaker 3: somehow this was staged by the White House or Republicans,
- 16:10Speaker 3: I mean, it is completely crazy. Spokesman Dan Davis Ingle
- 16:15Speaker 3: told The Washington Post. The White House has rejected the
- 16:18Speaker 3: conspiracy theorists. Anyone who thinks President Trump stage his own
- 16:22Speaker 3: assassination attempts is a complete moron.
- 16:25Speaker 2: I one believe.
- 16:26Speaker 3: That that you who are conspiracy theorists are complete morons.
- 16:33Speaker 3: I'll tell you right now. But the problem is it's
- 16:35Speaker 3: not just a small number of people.
- 16:38Speaker 2: It's one in four.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Republicans thinking it was not staged, by a huge margin
- 16:47Speaker 3: over Democrats who think it was stage. Naturally, there's the politics,
- 16:53Speaker 3: but you know it's you know, the earth is flat. Okay,
- 16:57Speaker 3: maybe that one's crazy moonshot, yeah things, that was stage
- 17:01Speaker 3: area fifty one.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Yeah it was staged.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Well, actually it was because Area fifty one, in terms
- 17:10Speaker 3: of aliens doesn't exist. But so many Americans believe that
- 17:15Speaker 3: and this is all back we go. It's all about
- 17:18Speaker 3: the internet because crazy people did not have access to
- 17:23Speaker 3: other crazy people. There are plenty of crazy people out there,
- 17:27Speaker 3: but they couldn't talk to each other.
- 17:28Speaker 1: A crazy person in a slightly different category though, because
- 17:33Speaker 1: this is not just you know, people living in a
- 17:39Speaker 1: hut somewhere in the forest believing this. I think this
- 17:43Speaker 1: is more the distrust of this administration.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I think it's a distrust of in jail, not just
- 17:52Speaker 3: just administration general.
- 17:53Speaker 1: And I agree that comes from a different place than
- 17:55Speaker 1: somebody whittling, would you know, thinking do.
- 17:58Speaker 2: You agree with you or nine to eleven?
- 18:01Speaker 3: Yeah, all kinds of issues that you can't trust doctors anymore.
- 18:05Speaker 3: You can't trust uh, you can't trust politicians.
- 18:09Speaker 2: You can't.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Every single politician is corrupt and is there for the money.
- 18:16Speaker 3: And I've often said, you know how difficult it is
- 18:18Speaker 3: for a politician to accept bribes.
- 18:21Speaker 2: They get caught anyway. All right. For those of you
- 18:26Speaker 2: that you think she's a more on.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Oh yeah, she's a complete complete conspiracy and.
- 18:36Speaker 2: I'll tell her she's a moron. And by the way,
- 18:38Speaker 2: it's not blanket all over everything. I don't distrust everything.
- 18:43Speaker 2: It's this administration it's proven.
- 18:47Speaker 3: They've proven that they are that they set up assassination attempts,
- 18:52Speaker 3: not that they're liars. They set up attached assassination attempts. Well,
- 18:57Speaker 3: I am, I agree they are lying, But what do
- 19:00Speaker 3: they lie about? You know?
- 19:02Speaker 2: I mean there are limits to lie to be the
- 19:05Speaker 2: next segment. No, okay, no, I mean we'll do it.
- 19:10Speaker 2: But I have no problem. There's no problem. I do.
- 19:12Speaker 2: I think they are liars. I have no problem with
- 19:14Speaker 2: them lying. That's the administration doesn't trust. It doesn't It
- 19:17Speaker 2: doesn't lie about everything. It doesn't lie about everything.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Conspiracies are quite complicated. And the it really that the
- 19:28Speaker 1: fact that people think that there are conspiracies don't understand
- 19:32Speaker 1: how complicated it would be to put all.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Right, we're running late, opinions, we're running late. Well, I
- 19:38Speaker 3: don't appreciate it nice, we're running late. Okay, Another sales
- 19:42Speaker 3: tax hike, yes, are we going to vote it? In
- 19:46Speaker 3: La County? Voters are going to decide do we want
- 19:48Speaker 3: a temporary huh? It's always that temporary is always a joke.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Half sent sales tax to shore up our public health
- 19:56Speaker 3: care system, and the supporters says, the only thing that's
- 19:59Speaker 3: going to say system from being devastated by federal funding cuts.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Now, when you look at.
- 20:04Speaker 3: The taxes that have increased, these programs are for the
- 20:08Speaker 3: most part legitimate. There is you know, healthcare, there's no
- 20:12Speaker 3: issue transportation. I mean, all of them are good ideas.
- 20:15Speaker 3: The problem is how many can you have. It's tax
- 20:20Speaker 3: upon tax. It's only a quarter of a percent of
- 20:24Speaker 3: a cent. Oh, it's only one percent, it's three quarters
- 20:26Speaker 3: of one percent. Well, we're now at nine point seventy
- 20:29Speaker 3: five percent in La County with cities. Adding on top
- 20:32Speaker 3: of that, there are so many cities charging ten percent
- 20:37Speaker 3: or more in California. We have just never met a
- 20:41Speaker 3: tax we don't like half cent more in twenty sixteen
- 20:47Speaker 3: for buses, trains, and pothole filling. Twenty twenty four homeless services,
- 20:54Speaker 3: that was half a cent, and it keeps on going
- 20:58Speaker 3: and going and going. Well, June second, with the primary,
- 21:03Speaker 3: we're going to do some voting. Now when I say,
- 21:06Speaker 3: is this a legitimate half cent, well, yeah, it's for healthcare.
- 21:10Speaker 3: And the county is going to lose more than two
- 21:12Speaker 3: billion dollars over the next three years from the Feds.
- 21:16Speaker 3: And so where's the money come from. It's you can
- 21:21Speaker 3: cut other programs with the state will never do. And
- 21:24Speaker 3: so here's a tax of a half a point and
- 21:29Speaker 3: should last only five years, but believe me, it'll be extended.
- 21:32Speaker 3: The last time voter said no to a sales tax
- 21:35Speaker 3: hike was twenty twelve, and that's the measures. Transportation measure
- 21:42Speaker 3: fell just short with sixty six point one percent. It
- 21:46Speaker 3: needed sixty six point seven percent. It didn't quite reach
- 21:51Speaker 3: which it needed to pass. That's how close it was.
- 21:55Speaker 3: And so polling right now looks at it's not going
- 21:58Speaker 3: to happen. And as much as I believe in we
- 22:03Speaker 3: have to do something about healthcare, half a cent is
- 22:07Speaker 3: not going to help. So half a cent will be
- 22:10Speaker 3: what La County will then be ten point two five
- 22:15Speaker 3: and with cities it's in some cities it'll be what
- 22:18Speaker 3: ten point five percent, ten point seventy five percent?
- 22:22Speaker 1: Uh?
- 22:22Speaker 3: And is this going to vote? Is it going to pass? Well,
- 22:27Speaker 3: there's really no opposition to it. And you've got various groups,
- 22:32Speaker 3: medical groups who certainly are in favor, the unions are
- 22:37Speaker 3: in favor, the s the s U I e uh
- 22:41Speaker 3: in favor. I don't know where to go with this,
- 22:45Speaker 3: I really don't. I mean, we're taxing ourselves into oblivion.
- 22:49Speaker 3: And it's here little bits and pieces. Is death by
- 22:51Speaker 3: a thousand cuts? And there's where is the point? Where
- 22:57Speaker 3: does it end?
- 22:59Speaker 2: You know?
- 22:59Speaker 3: One of my favorite quotes is when it was one
- 23:05Speaker 3: of a politician's I think it could have been Elizabeth
- 23:11Speaker 3: Warren was asked, is there a where is the line
- 23:16Speaker 3: of income tax? You know? Where do you stop it?
- 23:20Speaker 3: You know, at what point is it unsustainable? When she said,
- 23:24Speaker 3: I don't know. I'll tell you when I see it. Okay,
- 23:31Speaker 3: well a lot of people have seen it right now.
- 23:33Speaker 1: You know what's interesting, Bill is people ask me one
- 23:36Speaker 1: of the things about churches, like how to pick a church,
- 23:39Speaker 1: and I said, one of the things the church should
- 23:41Speaker 1: do is at least once a year open their books
- 23:44Speaker 1: to the parishioners so that people can see how the
- 23:47Speaker 1: money is used and where it goes. How come we
- 23:50Speaker 1: don't have something some law some point, because it's not
- 23:55Speaker 1: so much about how much money we're paying. It's about
- 23:58Speaker 1: the lack of results. If I've got horrible sidewalks and
- 24:02Speaker 1: potholes and a crappy school system and all this, and
- 24:05Speaker 1: we keep dumping money into it, no one's accountable.
- 24:08Speaker 3: It's about distribution of also politicians. It's easy for politicians
- 24:13Speaker 3: to say yes, yes, yes, I'm going to help you out.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Kick the can down the road is something easy? Okay,
- 24:19Speaker 3: we're done with this, guys. A lot we can do
- 24:21Speaker 3: on that, which we'll probably pick up over the next
- 24:24Speaker 3: week two weeks coming up. Rich the mureaw our tech guy.
- 24:28Speaker 3: We'll be right back with tech Tuesday. KFI Am sixty.
