- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, January 4th.
- 0:11Rooted for real. Growth doesn't happen overnight.
- 0:14Seeds take time to develop roots before anything visible appears.
- 0:18Proverbs chapter 3, verses 1 to 4, reminds us that holding onto
- 0:22God's commands brings peace and favor, not because God is
- 0:26strict, but because His ways lead to life.
- 0:29When His Word settles deep in your heart, it begins to shape
- 0:32how you think, respond, and choose.
- 0:34Matthew chapter 1 introduces us to Joseph, a man who faced an
- 0:38unexpected and confusing situation.
- 0:41His plans were disrupted, his reputation was at risk, and yet
- 0:44he chose obedience. He trusted God's Word over his
- 0:48own understanding. Through Joseph's obedience, God
- 0:51brought Jesus into the world, fulfilling his promise to save
- 0:55his people from their sins. That's what being rooted looks
- 0:58like. It's choosing faithfulness even
- 1:00when the outcome isn't clear. When your heart is rooted in
- 1:03God, peace becomes possible, even in uncertainty.
- 1:06You may not control every circumstance, but you can choose
- 1:09what you're planted in. And when you're planted in God's
- 1:12truth, your life grows strong, steady, and purposeful.
- 1:16Let's pray Heavenly Father, help me stay rooted in your Word and
- 1:19truth. Teach me to trust You even when
- 1:21life doesn't go as planned. Give me a heart like Joseph's
- 1:24willing to obey and believe You. Let my life grow in peace and
- 1:28purpose as I follow you in Jesus name, Amen.

- 4:30Josiah became the father of Jechunaya and his brothers at
- 4:33the time of the exile to Babylon.
- 4:35After the exile to Babylon, Jechunaya became the father of

- 5:00Matthan became the father of Jacob.
- 5:02Jacob became the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary,
- 5:06from whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
- 5:09So all the generations from Abraham to David are 14
- 5:12generations, from David to the exile to Babylon 14 generations,
- 5:17and from the carrying away to Babylon to the Christ 14
- 5:20generations. Now the birth of Jesus Christ
- 5:23was like this. After his mother Mary was
- 5:26engaged to Joseph before they came together, she was found
- 5:29pregnant by the Holy Spirit. Joseph, her husband, being a
- 5:33righteous man and not willing to make her a public example,
- 5:37intended to put her away secretly.
- 5:39But when he thought about these things, behold, an Angel of the
- 5:42Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph son of David,
- 5:46Don't be afraid to take to yourself Mary as your wife, for
- 5:49that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
- 5:52She shall give birth to a son. You shall name him Jesus, for it
- 5:56is he who shall save his people from their sins.
- 5:59Now all this has happened that it might be fulfilled, which was
- 6:02spoken by the Lord through the prophet saying, Behold, the
- 6:05virgin shall be with child and shall give birth to a son.
- 6:09They shall call his name a mammal, which is being
- 6:11interpreted. God with us.
- 6:14Joseph arose from his sleep and did as the Angel of the Lord
- 6:17commanded him and took his wife to himself and didn't know her
- 6:20sexually until she had given birth to her first born son.
- 6:24He named him Jesus. Thanks for joining us on Bible
