• 3:26
Speaker 1: Oh man, you just reminded me that at my workout mix.
• 3:30
Speaker 1: That was a fucking jam.
• 3:32
Speaker 2: That was a gem. It was a you know what

Speaker 1: Who? Yeah, what's that one?
• 3:40
Speaker 2: The freaking Batman one? No Christian Bale one.
• 3:44
Speaker 1: Oh that was good. And then they spoofed that with
• 3:46
Speaker 1: the Kenney Schmidt theme song, which was which was really
• 3:50
Speaker 1: good too. Do you ever watch Timmy Schmidt?
• 3:52
Speaker 2: I have never watched com.
• 3:53
Speaker 1: Oh it's really good. You like it. If you're listening
• 3:55
Speaker 1: to this podcast and you haven't watched Schmidt, I'll bet
• 3:57
Speaker 1: you like it. It's got a lot of it's sillier
• 3:59
Speaker 1: than screw, believe it or not, but it's got some
• 4:03
Speaker 1: very funny, silly stuff. It should we talk about the
• 4:05
  Speaker 1: show Donald's.
• 4:06
Speaker 2: We should totally talk about the show. This was a
• 4:08
Speaker 2: good one. I have no recollection of this show whatsoever.
• 4:13
Speaker 2: I didn't remember this show until that. We sang Missus Jones.
• 4:16
Speaker 1: Yeah, Now, did you know Missus Jones the song? Or
• 4:19
  Speaker 1: did you?
• 4:19
  Speaker 2: Absolutely?
• 4:20
Speaker 1: I didn't really, but you sang it beautifully.
• 4:24
Speaker 2: Thank you. We got a thing going on. That's a
• 4:31
  Speaker 2: it's a real good song. I wonder if luth I
• 4:34
Speaker 2: think Lutha might have even covered it.
• 4:35
Speaker 1: Sometimes when you sing, I just involuntarily.
• 4:38
Speaker 2: Either Luther or Freddie Jackson, one of them covered that thing.
• 4:42
Speaker 1: Who's the most famous Joelle's version of of.
• 4:46
Speaker 2: I think the original Missus Jones?
• 4:48
  Speaker 1: Who's the original? I'm sorry, I don't know.
• 4:52
Speaker 2: Research is Billy Paul. That does me and missus Jones,
• 4:56
Speaker 2: I think, so yeah, Billy Paul looks like the original.
• 5:01
Speaker 2: And then I feel like Luther did do a cover
• 5:04
  Speaker 2: of this.
• 5:05
Speaker 1: Let's see we got a thing.
• 5:10
  Speaker 2: Freddy Jackson did.
• 5:11
  Speaker 1: Do the cover.
• 5:12
Speaker 2: Freddy Jackson, I knew it was one of them.
• 5:15
Speaker 1: Well you sanging beautifully, Donald, Thank.
• 5:17
Speaker 2: You very much. I remember being so excited that I
• 5:19
Speaker 2: was going to have the opportunity to sing on the show.
• 5:22
Speaker 2: I sang a lot as a kid, like in the
• 5:24
Speaker 2: high school choir and the junior high school choir.
• 5:26
Speaker 1: I wish you would sing more because you have such
• 5:29
  Speaker 1: a beautiful voice.
• 5:30
  Speaker 2: I would love to sing more. I don't think I
• 5:32
Speaker 2: have the voice that is the type of voice that
• 5:34
Speaker 2: people want to hear like all the time.
• 5:36
Speaker 1: Would you ever do a Broadway musical?
• 5:38
Speaker 2: Of course I would do a Broadway musical. We all
• 5:40
Speaker 2: have dreams of winning an egot one day, of getting
• 5:43
  Speaker 2: the egot right.
• 5:44
Speaker 1: So absolutely, for egot reasons, I'm saying, would you think
• 5:47
Speaker 1: that would bring you joy to do a Broadway musical?
• 5:50
Speaker 1: Bill and I got approached to do a version of
• 5:52
  Speaker 1: Fletch after Scrubs.
• 5:54
Speaker 2: That's so scary, dude, I know, And.
• 5:56
Speaker 1: The idea of doing it with Bill, who's like the
• 5:58
Speaker 1: biggest Fletch fan in the world, was interesting. But then
• 6:01
  Speaker 1: you know, I mean, that's that's impossible.
• 6:04
Speaker 2: You can't feel Chevy Chase. You can't do it.
• 6:07
Speaker 1: I'm just saying, okay, So back to the musical. I
• 6:09
Speaker 1: think that it would be great. I would just love
• 6:11
Speaker 1: to see you. You have such a good voice. And
• 6:13
Speaker 1: I did a musical on Broadway and I had so
• 6:15
Speaker 1: much fun doing it. Granted, I was happy when it
• 6:18
Speaker 1: was over, because when you go see a play, particularly
• 6:22
Speaker 1: in this case just a my musicals, you always have
• 6:25
Speaker 1: to come out and go I cannot believe these people
• 6:26
Speaker 1: are doing this eight times a week. And I was
• 6:30
Speaker 1: just so exhausted. It was the most tired I've ever
• 6:34
Speaker 1: been in my life. And no matter what happens, you're
• 6:36
Speaker 1: going on that day, Like, you know, it's one thing
• 6:38
Speaker 1: you will play for three months, four months, but.
• 6:40
  Speaker 2: And wow, that's a really that's a half a year,
• 6:43
Speaker 2: Dude's you were supposed.
• 6:44
Speaker 1: To do it longer.
• 6:45
Speaker 2: But wow, I don't know. I go back and forth
• 6:48
Speaker 2: with the whole you know, musical theater, musical genre. When
• 6:53
Speaker 2: it's done right, it's really good. But when it's done.
• 6:55
Speaker 2: When it's done wrong, that's one of those things where
• 6:57
Speaker 2: it's like, dude, and it was a musical, you know
• 6:59
  Speaker 2: what I mean.
• 7:00
Speaker 1: I know, but when it works, it's so good. When
• 7:03
Speaker 1: it works, we love it.
• 7:04
Speaker 2: Oh, when it works, it's the best thing in the world. Yeah.
• 7:07
Speaker 1: But when you're in a bad one, you're like, oh, God,
• 7:09
  Speaker 1: make it stop.
• 7:10
Speaker 2: Right, you know what I mean? How do we get
• 7:12
  Speaker 2: out of this?
• 7:13
Speaker 1: So this My Bad was written by Gabby Allen Wow
• 7:18
Speaker 1: and directed by Mark Buckland, who directed the One of Four.
• 7:25
Speaker 1: Very talented guy. There's a lot of cool shots in
• 7:26
Speaker 1: this episode. I can always tell, even if I don't
• 7:29
Speaker 1: look at the who the director is by the cinematography.
• 7:34
Speaker 1: Who was adding a little lext or something something. And
• 7:36
Speaker 1: Mark Bucklan was always one of those guys, right.
• 7:38
Speaker 2: I just remember playing ping pong with Mark Bucklan and
• 7:40
Speaker 2: how good of a ping pong player he is?
• 7:42
Speaker 1: Yes, did you win? Because you're pretty good?
• 7:45
Speaker 2: No, I did not win. I got waxed. And he
• 7:47
Speaker 2: started off making it look like it was going to
• 7:49
Speaker 2: be the easiest game in the world, and I'd have
• 7:52
Speaker 2: a shot and all I'd have to do is just
• 7:53
Speaker 2: keep the ball on the table. But then after I
• 7:56
Speaker 2: remember him looking at me and saying to me, Okay,
• 7:59
Speaker 2: so I'm gonna turned it up a little bit now,
• 8:01
Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden he became like freaking
• 8:03
Speaker 2: Federer or freaking uh Nadal or something like that, but
• 8:06
Speaker 2: on a ping pong table, Djokovic, Right, all of a sudden,
• 8:09
  Speaker 2: out of nowhere, this dude, there's there's there's there's a
• 8:13
Speaker 2: there's top spin. He's slice nedd spin.
• 8:16
Speaker 1: I remember you very into trick spin because I played
• 8:18
Speaker 1: with you a couple of times and I just couldn't
• 8:19
Speaker 1: even hit the ball back because you put so much
• 8:21
Speaker 1: spin on it. No matter what I did, it was
• 8:22
  Speaker 1: just going everywhere.
• 8:23
Speaker 2: Right, This dude had the type of ping pong game
• 8:27
Speaker 2: where you put the spin on it, and he knew
• 8:29
Speaker 2: the counter spin. It was the worst. You gotta the
• 8:32
Speaker 2: counter you gotta know the counterspin.
• 8:34
Speaker 1: You gotta know the counter spin. I remember playing Bill
• 8:38
Speaker 1: in ping pong and I'm just like, you know, this
• 8:40
Speaker 1: is new in the relationship, and I'm like, just you
• 8:43
Speaker 1: played a little pong with my boss, like just a
• 8:45
Speaker 1: little bonding. And then he stopped pointing. He goes, would
• 8:48
Speaker 1: you mind if I played you left handed? Because it
• 8:50
Speaker 1: wasn't any fun for me. It was so horrible.
• 8:56
Speaker 2: I was Did they ever play each other? Did you
• 8:57
Speaker 2: ever witness Buckling and Bill?
• 8:59
  Speaker 1: Right? No? I don't know. I don't know, but I mean,
• 9:01
Speaker 1: I would love to get good at ping pong. I
• 9:03
Speaker 1: don't think it really. I don't think it really correlates
• 9:05
Speaker 1: with tennis that much.
• 9:07
Speaker 2: Oh, it's it's absolutely the same, dude. Really, your your
• 9:10
Speaker 2: tennis game probably has helped your ping pong game.
• 9:13
Speaker 1: Okay, I just haven't had to play ping pong a while,
• 9:14
Speaker 1: but my tennis game is much better.
• 9:16
Speaker 2: Absolutely, you probably. I can't wait for us to play again.
• 9:19
Speaker 2: To be honest with you, I do miss that. I know.
• 9:21
Speaker 1: I was thinking we could get a video game and
• 9:23
Speaker 1: play online against each other.
• 9:24
Speaker 2: If you don't play video games, you'd get your ass kick.
• 9:26
Speaker 1: There's no real good video game tennis, is there.
• 9:29
Speaker 2: There's a lot of good video game Why are you
• 9:31
  Speaker 2: yelling at me?
• 9:32
Speaker 1: Which which one ps PSP.
• 9:35
Speaker 2: Is that PlayStation? Place?
• 9:36
Speaker 1: Which one? Which? Which system is a good tennis because
• 9:38
  Speaker 1: I would.
• 9:39
Speaker 2: Like to socket Xbox Xbox PlayStation four.
• 9:42
Speaker 1: Oh Dan is saying that the top Spin Spin is good. Man, Mario,
• 9:47
  Speaker 1: I don't want Mario. I don't I like I like
• 9:50
Speaker 1: my player to look like a real person. I don't
• 9:52
Speaker 1: want a little avatar running around like it's Mario versus Luigi.
• 9:55
Speaker 2: Right, So you have a little bit of land or property,
• 9:58
Speaker 2: there's this thing where you take the ball is connected
• 10:01
Speaker 2: to like a rope. And remember that thing that what's
• 10:03
Speaker 2: the wooden paddle with the rubber ball that you would hit.
• 10:06
Speaker 1: It's called the wooden paddle with the rubber ball.
• 10:08
Speaker 2: But what is that called where you and it's connected
• 10:11
Speaker 2: and you hit it and its pop up b b
• 10:12
  Speaker 2: b b b B. Yeah, I know everyone knows your
• 10:14
  Speaker 2: there's a tennis version. There's a tennis version of that
• 10:17
Speaker 2: where you can practice strokes where you hit it far
• 10:20
Speaker 2: and it goes far out, bounces and then comes back
• 10:23
Speaker 2: to you at the same speed. Yeah, you might like that.
• 10:26
  Speaker 2: I don't know what that's called, but that's somebody.
• 10:28
Speaker 1: Because I need that for my Absolutely, I'm worried. I'm
• 10:31
  Speaker 1: forgetting everything.
• 10:32
Speaker 2: All you got to do is say tennis near your phone.
• 10:34
Speaker 2: I'm sure it'll pick it up and add or pop up.
• 10:37
Speaker 1: I find myself just doing my stroke with with your
• 10:40
Speaker 1: pantomime turned down, bah catch nice, repeating repeating my mantra.
• 10:48
Speaker 2: Nice, you're getting really good at tennis. All right, let's
• 10:49
Speaker 2: get into it. We're twenty two twenty minutes and well
• 10:52
Speaker 2: you're the one I tell you about a paddle but
• 10:54
Speaker 2: a ball and paddleball that's what it is. Some shiit
• 10:57
  Speaker 2: like that?
• 10:57
  Speaker 1: Right?
• 10:57
  Speaker 2: All right?
• 10:58
Speaker 1: Listen, uh Sam Lloyd. It opens the episode. Let's talk
• 11:01
Speaker 1: about how great Sam Lloyd is.
• 11:02
Speaker 2: Sam Lloyd's amazing. Not only is he a funny comedic actor,
• 11:07
Speaker 2: but he is an amazing singer. You want to talk
• 11:09
Speaker 2: about a really good singer.
• 11:11
Speaker 1: Yes, that a cappella group that's featured in later later
• 11:13
Speaker 1: episodes is really Sam's band and the Blanks. Yeah, and
• 11:18
Speaker 1: they after right after Scrubs, they were so popular. They
• 11:20
Speaker 1: were really touring and doing gigs. Yeah, there's so talented
• 11:24
  Speaker 1: those guys.
• 11:25
Speaker 2: Oh man, they do a they do a cover of
• 11:27
Speaker 2: John Williams Superman theme song, and it is amazing.
• 11:31
Speaker 1: You can find that if you're if you're if you're
• 11:33
Speaker 1: a fan of The Blanks a cappella man, you can
• 11:35
Speaker 1: find I think they probably even have an album or something.
• 11:38
Speaker 1: You can find them doing.
• 11:39
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they're all over it tuned and they're amazing.
• 11:41
  Speaker 1: And he's Christopher Lloyd's nephew. Yes, I know I mentioned
• 11:46
Speaker 1: not another episode maybe, yeah, a little trivia. Yes, And
• 11:49
Speaker 1: I got to direct Christopher Lloyd in uh, in Going
• 11:52
  Speaker 1: and Style.
• 11:53
Speaker 2: You also were in a play with Christopher.
• 11:56
Speaker 1: I was in Twelfth Night in Central Park and the
• 11:58
Speaker 1: Delacorte Theater with Christopher Lay And when I when I
• 12:01
Speaker 1: went to direct him and Going into Style, I don't
• 12:04
Speaker 1: think he had any recollection of what I was. Well. No,
• 12:11
Speaker 1: he's an amazing man and I love him. But he
• 12:13
Speaker 1: is a little bit like Doc.
• 12:15
Speaker 2: He's a little like Oh, well, he's worked so much though,
• 12:18
Speaker 2: you got to give the man a break.
• 12:19
  Speaker 1: I know I'm not giving I don't need to give
• 12:21
  Speaker 1: a break. He's a sweetheart. But I'm saying, when you
• 12:23
Speaker 1: meet him, he's a little he is a little like Doc.
• 12:25
  Speaker 1: He's a little like.
• 12:30
Speaker 2: One of my favorite Christopher Lloyd's stories is the story
• 12:33
Speaker 2: of when he found out that Eric Stoltz wasn't doing
• 12:37
Speaker 2: Marty McFly anymore, uh, and that Michael J. Fox was
• 12:40
Speaker 2: doing it and uh, you know Eric Stoltz while it's
• 12:45
Speaker 2: in this famous book that Justin Long gave me to read, right,
• 12:48
Speaker 2: and it's like the making of back to the Futures one, two,
• 12:51
Speaker 2: and three, and apparently Eric Stoltz told everybody on set,
• 12:55
Speaker 2: don't call me Eric, call me Marty.
• 12:57
Speaker 1: That can't be true.
• 12:59
Speaker 2: This is in the book.
• 13:00
Speaker 1: It's a very fun whenever I hear these stories about
• 13:03
Speaker 1: people saying no eye contact and all these horrible behavior,
• 13:06
  Speaker 1: I just can't never believe it's true.
• 13:07
Speaker 2: Okay, well this is go ahead, this is in the book,
• 13:11
Speaker 2: you know, so everybody does it. He finally gets fired
• 13:15
Speaker 2: and they bring Michael J.
• 13:16
  Speaker 3: Fox in.
• 13:17
Speaker 2: But before they bring Michael J. Fox and they tell
• 13:18
Speaker 2: Christopher Lloyd They're like, listen, so we had to fire
• 13:22
Speaker 2: Eric and we're bringing someone in. He's like, well, who's Eric?
• 13:29
Speaker 2: And they go to guy that was playing martyr and
• 13:34
Speaker 2: they go no. He's like, oh okay. And then and
• 13:40
Speaker 2: then they do and then and then they bring Michael J.
• 13:43
Speaker 2: Fox in and they said the chemistry was like one
• 13:45
Speaker 2: point and the rest is history, and now we have,
• 13:48
Speaker 2: you know, back to the future.
• 13:49
Speaker 1: He's amazing and I had a lot of fun working
• 13:51
Speaker 1: with him, going and style.
• 13:53
Speaker 2: He's you've worked with both of them. You've worked with
• 13:56
Speaker 2: You've worked with Michael J. Fox, and you've worked with Christopher.
• 14:00
Speaker 2: He worked with Doc and Marty.
• 14:02
Speaker 1: Yes, I know Doc and Marty. Yeah, we try and
• 14:05
Speaker 1: get Michael J. Fox on when we get to him.
• 14:08
Speaker 2: That would be kind of cool. Maybe Bill can pull
• 14:10
Speaker 2: his Bill strings, that would be great.
• 14:13
Speaker 1: At forty five seconds in, there's the most cartoonish dry
• 14:15
Speaker 1: by noise, and I know Bill kept saying like, oh,
• 14:18
Speaker 1: and this is when I was starting to phase out
• 14:20
Speaker 1: the sound effects, but I was like, not yet, bro,
• 14:22
Speaker 1: because this episode has so many sound effects in it.
• 14:27
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. There are a couple of
• 14:30
Speaker 2: those in here. You behind the door when you look
• 14:32
Speaker 2: away and you come back and then you look back
• 14:34
Speaker 2: in again. That was hilarious.
• 14:36
Speaker 1: There's a funny thing that happens with you know. They
• 14:38
Speaker 1: would always try and time it so that if there
• 14:41
Speaker 1: was a holiday like Halloween, it was airing, it was
• 14:45
Speaker 1: airing around Halloween, and we'd have like our Halloween episode, right.
• 14:48
Speaker 1: And it's funny though, because at fifty one seconds in
• 14:51
Speaker 1: you don't really know that yet, but there's two nurses
• 14:53
Speaker 1: that walk by in the background with ears on, and
• 14:56
Speaker 1: I was like, my brain went to, oh, this must
• 14:59
Speaker 1: be the Halloween episode. But if you didn't have the
• 15:00
Speaker 1: context yet, it's just so weird, like, why are those
• 15:02
Speaker 1: background people wearing wacky Halloween ears?
• 15:06
Speaker 2: Speaking of background, this is the first time we see
• 15:08
  Speaker 2: Snoop Dogg.
• 15:11
Speaker 1: I spotted him too.
• 15:12
Speaker 2: Buddy Manly Henry wrote it.
• 15:16
Speaker 1: I wrote it down because it was a big moment.
• 15:19
Speaker 2: Well, he's walking in the hallway. He's in the.
• 15:21
Speaker 1: Surprise I saw him in the surprise room.
• 15:23
Speaker 2: Well he's walking in the hallway. Well way before that.
• 15:26
Speaker 1: But for those of you who don't know, what would
• 15:28
Speaker 1: happen was that these background performers were the same people
• 15:32
Speaker 1: every day. I mean, lots would rotate, but a lot
• 15:34
Speaker 1: of them would be the same folks every day. We
• 15:36
Speaker 1: got to know them and became friendly with them all.
• 15:39
Speaker 1: And some of them Bill would pick out because he
• 15:42
Speaker 1: thought or one of the other writer would pick out
• 15:44
Speaker 1: and go, oh my god, he's got an interesting look,
• 15:46
Speaker 1: or he's funny, or he can actually deliver a line.
• 15:48
Speaker 1: And they would get lines occasionally. Well, someone thought that
• 15:53
Speaker 1: Manley Henry looked like a Snoop Dogg.
• 15:56
Speaker 2: Do you think that, Yeah, they kind of do. They
• 15:58
Speaker 2: kind of do favor each other if you look at them.
• 16:01
Speaker 2: I mean, he's tall, he's black, gotta look like.
• 16:05
Speaker 1: More than that anyway, so Manly Henry who is Snoop
• 16:10
Speaker 1: Dogg Attending Resident and everything else makes it.
• 16:12
Speaker 2: He started off snoop Dogg in Turn and then he
• 16:15
Speaker 2: became snoop Dogg Resident. Yeah, and then he became snoop
• 16:18
Speaker 2: Dogg Attending. He's a big fan of our podcast.
• 16:21
Speaker 1: Man, he did you talk?
• 16:23
Speaker 2: Yeah, he's still in my d He promotes our podcast
• 16:26
Speaker 2: on his Instagram page and stuff like that. He's a sweetheart, man,
• 16:29
  Speaker 2: He's a very sweet guy.
• 16:30
Speaker 1: And anyway, so this is a shout out for Manley
• 16:33
Speaker 1: Henry for your first appearance. If you, if you. I
• 16:36
Speaker 1: didn't see him walk by, but I saw him in
• 16:37
Speaker 1: the surprise fantasy. He's in the background.
• 16:40
Speaker 2: There shout out Snoop Dogg in Turn.
• 16:42
Speaker 1: I have no memory of doing that type of walk gang.
• 16:45
Speaker 1: This is one of the first fantasies I've absolutely no
• 16:47
  Speaker 1: memory of.
• 16:47
Speaker 2: I have no memory of the episode, dude, you remember
• 16:49
Speaker 2: the episode of the whole episode like and you so
• 16:54
Speaker 2: recently when watching the show, there have been little things
• 16:56
Speaker 2: that have come on that I was like, oh wow,
• 16:58
Speaker 2: you know what, I take it back. I do remember
• 16:59
Speaker 2: the Miss Jones part, but usually I'm like, okay. In
• 17:04
Speaker 2: the first round when I said, I didn't remember the
• 17:08
Speaker 2: Asspin episode until I said, you know, I think I'm
• 17:09
Speaker 2: gonna get her a nice pin and I was like,
• 17:11
Speaker 2: holy shit, it's the ass Pen episode. You know what
• 17:13
  Speaker 2: I mean. There's always something.
• 17:15
Speaker 1: You remember, the missus Jones, right, and I'm sure you
• 17:19
Speaker 1: remembered one of the greatest guest stars of all time,
• 17:23
  Speaker 1: Jimmy Walker.
• 17:24
Speaker 2: Absolutely and a very lovely line reading, by the way,
• 17:27
Speaker 2: also by him. I think he totally made the joke better.
• 17:30
Speaker 2: Like I wrote that down. I wrote down, Wow, what
• 17:32
Speaker 2: an interesting way to say that line. And Jimmy Walker, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 17:38
Speaker 1: Plea should stop for one second. For those of you
• 17:40
Speaker 1: who don't know, because some of you were young, Jimmy Walker,
• 17:43
Speaker 1: who's in my fantasy around sixteen eleven seconds, was the
• 17:48
Speaker 1: star of a very popular show when we were growing
• 17:51
Speaker 1: up called Good Times.
• 17:52
Speaker 2: Yes, one of the most realistic shows about project life
• 17:57
Speaker 2: on television. As an African American male growing up, I
• 18:01
Speaker 2: mean the show was called good Times, but they didn't
• 18:04
Speaker 2: have the most good times on that show. Man things
• 18:06
Speaker 2: bad things would happen, like the dad died, like all
• 18:09
Speaker 2: types of shit, and the.
• 18:10
Speaker 1: White kids in the suburbs. It was like myself. It
• 18:13
Speaker 1: was educational because not only was it hilarious, but I
• 18:17
Speaker 1: watched shows like that and What's Happening, and it was
• 18:21
Speaker 1: it got to show a different side of the way
• 18:25
Speaker 1: people lived, and we didn't I didn't know anything about
• 18:27
Speaker 1: the projects when I was a little kid growing up
• 18:29
Speaker 1: in the Jersey suburbs, right, And you fell in love
• 18:32
Speaker 1: with this in Good Times and you just followed them
• 18:36
Speaker 1: through and like, like like a lot of comedies, I like,
• 18:39
Speaker 1: they would also be heartbreaking, right right, they would keep
• 18:42
Speaker 1: it like would they would go deep into.
• 18:44
Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, they went deep into drama on Good Times.
• 18:46
Speaker 2: Janet Jackson was on Good Times, you know what I mean.
• 18:49
Speaker 2: She played Penny. Her mom was abusive and like burnt
• 18:54
Speaker 2: her with an iron type shit abusive, you know what
• 18:56
Speaker 2: I mean, like for real, for real?
• 18:58
  Speaker 1: Right.
• 18:59
Speaker 2: Her mom was so bad that they took her away
• 19:01
Speaker 2: from her mom and she lived with Alma, who was
• 19:04
Speaker 2: the next door neighbor. Oh right, right, you don't remember anything.
• 19:06
Speaker 1: I don't remember that episode, but I do remember being
• 19:08
Speaker 1: young and being like totally in love with that show.
• 19:11
Speaker 2: Am I right about that? It's Alma? Right, I'm not tripping.
• 19:15
Speaker 1: Joell's googling Joe Well and what about what's happening?
• 19:19
Speaker 2: We also had Thelma Watch it be Thelma or some
• 19:21
  Speaker 2: shit like that.
• 19:22
Speaker 1: We also had the legendary fred Barry.
• 19:25
Speaker 2: Rerun rerun, Frederick run Berry came on. He came on
• 19:29
Speaker 2: the show right before he passed away. Actually he passed
• 19:32
Speaker 2: away like a couple of months after he was on
• 19:35
Speaker 2: the show, I believe, But I remember. I remember we
• 19:38
Speaker 2: all got dressed up like Fredrie run Berry and he
• 19:40
Speaker 2: taught us how to do the dance and everything like that. Yeah,
• 19:43
Speaker 2: that was a lot of fun.
• 19:44
Speaker 1: I remember that Jimmy Walker wouldn't say dynamite unless you
• 19:47
Speaker 1: paid him the next level money. Oh really, Yeah, I
• 19:50
Speaker 1: remember that being a thing when they told us Jimmy
• 19:52
Speaker 1: Walker was coming on, and was like, oh my god.
• 19:54
Speaker 1: Oh again. Sorry for those who don't know. He had
• 19:56
Speaker 1: a catchphrase on Good Times and he'd go dine oh
• 19:59
  Speaker 1: Mike right, Donald.
• 20:01
Speaker 2: Dyna might He was kid dynamite. That was his. That's
• 20:04
Speaker 2: who he was. He was kid dynamite. JJ James, like every.
• 20:08
Speaker 1: Good sitcom star. He had a catchphrase and uh and
• 20:11
Speaker 1: dyna mighte was his, but he wouldn't say it on
• 20:13
Speaker 1: Scrubs unless you like up the rig understandably.
• 20:16
Speaker 2: Like I get it.
• 20:17
  Speaker 1: Pay them.
• 20:18
Speaker 2: You know, that's like asking Gary Coleman to say what
• 20:20
Speaker 2: you're talking about Willis.
• 20:21
Speaker 1: I imagine if Gary Coleman come on Scrubs, he would
• 20:24
Speaker 1: have said, Hey, I'll come on for this fee. But
• 20:26
Speaker 1: if you want what you talking about Willis, it's this
• 20:28
Speaker 1: amount of money. There's a premium for what you're talking about. Willis. Absolutely,
• 20:32
  Speaker 1: I bet paid.
• 20:34
Speaker 2: I'll put the money on it.
• 20:35
Speaker 1: Yeah. Wait, did Gary Coleman pass too? Right?
• 20:39
  Speaker 2: Yeah?
• 20:39
  Speaker 3: He did?
• 20:40
Speaker 1: Wow, all three of these. Did Jimmy Walker die?
• 20:43
Speaker 2: No, Jimmy Walker still alive.
• 20:44
Speaker 1: But it's interesting that Fred Barry and Gary Coleman.
• 20:49
Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of a lot of our favorite sitcom
• 20:52
Speaker 2: stars when we were young passed away from either drugs
• 20:55
  Speaker 2: or you know.
• 20:57
Speaker 1: A Different Strokes cast has just been the most track.
• 21:01
Speaker 2: I mean, Todd Bridges is my doppel gang. You're still living.
• 21:04
Speaker 2: Todd Bridges is still alive.
• 21:06
Speaker 1: Todd's still alive, but a lot of the others have had.
• 21:10
Speaker 2: Todd's had a pretty good career after Different Strokes. He
• 21:14
Speaker 2: went on to I mean, he's been a very good
• 21:17
Speaker 2: actor in the projects that he's been in.
• 21:20
Speaker 1: Different Strokes, so much that was like my favorite show.
• 21:22
Speaker 2: Absolutely yeah, but everything happened to that family. Man, everything
• 21:26
Speaker 2: happened to that family. How many times does Arnold get kidnapped?
• 21:29
Speaker 2: He's been child molested, He's all types of things.
• 21:32
Speaker 1: He got he was.
• 21:36
Speaker 2: Right. But not only was Dudley molested. His dad smoked
• 21:39
Speaker 2: a lot of cigarettes and had you know there was
• 21:42
Speaker 2: a cigarette episode, Like like, everything happened to that family.
• 21:45
Speaker 1: And then when nothing else, everything happened to everybody. Look
• 21:48
Speaker 1: at the show er like, imagine all the sudden that's
• 21:50
Speaker 1: happened in that er.
• 21:51
Speaker 2: But I'm just saying, after everything happened to every character
• 21:53
Speaker 2: on that show, they went out and got Sam so
• 21:56
Speaker 2: everything could happen to Sam. And Sam was an anomaly.
• 21:59
Speaker 2: He was a freaking country singing, breakdancing, I could break
• 22:03
Speaker 2: dance and played the guitar, mister d He was all
• 22:05
  Speaker 2: of that shit.
• 22:06
Speaker 1: That is when they brought Sam on, it was the end.
• 22:09
Speaker 1: It was the end.
• 22:11
Speaker 2: That's another show that went from a network that switched networks.
• 22:15
Speaker 1: I was trying to bring it, trying to get the
• 22:17
Speaker 1: ratings back up because Gary was such a cute kid,
• 22:20
Speaker 1: and then when he got older, they were like, we
• 22:22
Speaker 1: need a new cute kid, bring in the red haired
• 22:25
  Speaker 1: country singing.
• 22:26
Speaker 2: Kid, the country Breakdancer.
• 22:28
Speaker 1: I don't have any memories of Sam episodes. Really, I
• 22:31
Speaker 1: think I tuned out there it is I was local
• 22:34
Speaker 1: to Gary. I was like, should we get back to
• 22:44
  Speaker 1: the show Donalds.
• 22:45
Speaker 2: Absolutely, Christa Miller, Holy cow man, Let's begin with holy cow.
• 22:52
Speaker 1: Has she looks so hot?
• 22:53
Speaker 2: She is so hot.
• 22:54
Speaker 1: Let me tell you something about Krystal Miller. She was
• 22:57
Speaker 1: the very first cover.
• 22:58
Speaker 2: Of maxim was it maximums stuff?
• 23:00
Speaker 1: I'm looking at the still of her she uh, two
• 23:03
Speaker 1: thirty two? She looks obviously. Bill was like, not only
• 23:06
Speaker 1: is kristin a knockout, but you know the boss was like,
• 23:08
Speaker 1: all right, I want the filter, I want the backlight,
• 23:10
  Speaker 1: I want.
• 23:11
Speaker 3: The slow motion, I want the fan. That's the first
• 23:13
Speaker 3: time I want the dolly push in. Yeah, we did
• 23:15
Speaker 3: a bunch on Scruggs, but like she got the first
• 23:18
Speaker 3: oh moment of like the hot chipwalking in Absolutely.
• 23:22
Speaker 2: I also noticed that her character talks exactly the way
• 23:25
Speaker 2: Cox talked. Yeah, and if you go back and watch it,
• 23:29
Speaker 2: that storyline very attracts, very well, like when the reveal happens,
• 23:34
Speaker 2: If you go back and look at how she talked
• 23:36
Speaker 2: to JD before the reveal of them being ex husband
• 23:40
Speaker 2: and wife. It's like JD's talking to a female version
• 23:44
Speaker 2: of Cox in the in the scene.
• 23:46
Speaker 1: Yeah, because she's like just got rattling off these sort
• 23:49
  Speaker 1: of wise Ansmartins.
• 23:50
Speaker 2: Absolutely, and it's very quick witted and it's funny.
• 23:54
Speaker 1: I think she's inspired by Christa herself, if I could
• 23:57
Speaker 1: be so bold, because you know, christ is a.
• 23:59
Speaker 2: Tough Yeah, it ain't not soft about I mean there's
• 24:04
Speaker 2: a lot of soft about Krista and once you get
• 24:06
Speaker 2: to know her, but when you first meet her, yeah,
• 24:09
Speaker 2: she's a very she could be a bit scary. Yeah,
• 24:11
Speaker 2: she she had no problem and she has no problem
• 24:14
Speaker 2: letting you know, back the fuck off dude.
• 24:17
Speaker 1: Yeah, and she and Bill can both be snarky. And
• 24:21
Speaker 1: I used to say, did you guys meet it mean camp?
• 24:23
Speaker 1: Because they but so here I am. I've got this
• 24:29
Speaker 1: brand new job and I'm so excited. And I read
• 24:32
Speaker 1: the script and it says that I'm going to make
• 24:34
Speaker 1: out with my boss's wife.
• 24:36
Speaker 2: Did you know that it was going to be his wife?
• 24:39
Speaker 1: You know, I had met Krista threw Bill at the
• 24:41
Speaker 1: table read and stuff, and I knew she was obviously
• 24:44
Speaker 1: from Drew Carrey and Drew carry was still going, yeah, yeah,
• 24:47
Speaker 1: absolutely it was, And that show is very popular, and
• 24:49
Speaker 1: of course she was in magazines and she's so pretty,
• 24:52
Speaker 1: and so I of course knew she was, but I
• 24:54
Speaker 1: had barely met her, and I was totally intimidated and
• 24:57
  Speaker 1: scared by her. I remember, it's kissing, it's not. It's
• 25:00
Speaker 1: funny rewatching the show now, and it's not in the show.
• 25:02
Speaker 1: But I remember we filmed us making out, and I
• 25:06
Speaker 1: was so nervous. I was. I remember being like, this
• 25:09
Speaker 1: is the weirdest job in the world. I'm make out
• 25:13
Speaker 1: with my really pretty boss's wife for him.
• 25:16
Speaker 2: Yeah, and how do you think he felt about it?
• 25:19
Speaker 2: That's I think he liked it a bit.
• 25:20
  Speaker 1: I think he's a little bit like that. So I'm
• 25:22
Speaker 1: gonna be so bold to say that man's a little kinky.
• 25:25
Speaker 2: Yeah, he's got a little bit of cakey.
• 25:26
Speaker 1: I think he might like it. We can we can
• 25:30
Speaker 1: insert a budget Joelle Bill Lawrence's voice note here, we
• 25:33
Speaker 1: gotta ask him, did you did you like it a
• 25:35
  Speaker 1: little bit?
• 25:36
Speaker 4: No, Zach and Donald, I don't enjoy forcing actors to
• 25:41
Speaker 4: make out with my wife on television. I enjoy that
• 25:46
Speaker 4: in our in our personal lives, but just not on TV.
• 25:50
Speaker 4: It's part of the gig though, right because I dook.
• 25:53
Speaker 4: I enjoyed watching how uncomfortable Zach was that first year
• 25:58
Speaker 4: having to kiss my wife, but it was all acting
• 26:01
Speaker 4: rights acting because he.
• 26:03
Speaker 2: Brought her back and then made Johnny do the same thing.
• 26:06
Speaker 1: Yeah, well during this episode too, I think he was.
• 26:09
Speaker 1: You know, there's some dudes who are into that. I
• 26:10
Speaker 1: think Bill might like a smidget of that. I I mean,
• 26:19
  Speaker 1: I don't know that I would be. I would probably
• 26:21
  Speaker 1: be jealous.
• 26:21
  Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't share. I don't like to share.
• 26:24
Speaker 2: I wonder if my wife. My wife says some of
• 26:26
Speaker 2: the craziest things when when I have kissing scenes with people,
• 26:30
Speaker 2: Like I remember my wife being like, like one time
• 26:32
Speaker 2: I kissed the girl on television and she was like, well,
• 26:35
  Speaker 2: that wasn't believable.
• 26:37
Speaker 1: Like what the trick with a TV slash movie kiss
• 26:41
Speaker 1: is not is just to open your mouth but not
• 26:44
Speaker 1: be jamming your tongue in anyone's.
• 26:45
Speaker 2: Mouth, right, And for a lot of people, jamming your
• 26:49
Speaker 2: tongue in someone's mouth isn't necessarily the way they like
• 26:54
Speaker 2: to kiss. So some people in real life kiss like
• 26:57
Speaker 2: they kiss on television where it's just an open mouth kiss.
• 27:00
Speaker 1: But have you found with your movie TV kisses that
• 27:03
Speaker 1: the onus is on you? I think is a man
• 27:05
Speaker 1: to be like, all right, let the female set what
• 27:08
Speaker 1: this is going to be. That's how I think about it.
• 27:11
Speaker 1: And then sometimes you're like, whoa, you're really going all out.
• 27:14
Speaker 1: There's a tongue in my mouth.
• 27:16
Speaker 2: Right. Somebody told me that they even have like mediators
• 27:20
Speaker 2: that come in, like people that uh, stage this now.
• 27:23
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a new thing now, which is definitely good
• 27:25
Speaker 1: because no one ever knew what to do. And now,
• 27:27
Speaker 1: of course in this stage it's they have people come
• 27:30
Speaker 1: in and go, Okay, let's all talk about what this
• 27:31
Speaker 1: is going to be and let's choreograph it and right.
• 27:33
Speaker 1: But when we were doing this, it was just I
• 27:35
Speaker 1: would have these different guest stars. I don't know. I
• 27:38
Speaker 1: just remember being embarrassed as I watched some like with
• 27:41
Speaker 1: Amy Smart, that we were just like full on going
• 27:45
Speaker 1: at it, and and I was like, this is a sitcom,
• 27:48
Speaker 1: like we shouldn't be seeing our tongues like from the
• 27:51
Speaker 1: side of our kiss. It's a little I was very
• 27:53
Speaker 1: giddy about Amy Smart.
• 27:54
Speaker 2: I must confess, yes, you were very giddy about Amy
• 27:58
  Speaker 2: and if there.
• 27:59
Speaker 1: Were tongues flying, I was. I wanted to be a
• 28:01
Speaker 1: part of it. I had such a crush on Amy.
• 28:07
Speaker 2: Yeah you did. That was Oh my gosh. I remember, listen,
• 28:11
  Speaker 2: you have something.
• 28:11
Speaker 1: I've never been so happy at work as that.
• 28:13
Speaker 2: That was prett Yeah, because your crush for Amy Smart
• 28:16
Speaker 2: came well before she was ever on the show.
• 28:19
Speaker 1: My crustion from maybe Smart went back to Todd Phillips's movie.
• 28:23
Speaker 2: Road Trip, road Trip, Yeah, Breck and Meyer.
• 28:26
Speaker 1: Wreck and Meyer. Todd Phillips, who's now an Oscar nominated
• 28:32
Speaker 1: director for The Worker.
• 28:33
Speaker 2: For the Joker. Who else is it that Tom Greens in?
• 28:36
Speaker 1: Then? I don't remember the movie. I just remember being like, wow,
• 28:40
Speaker 1: that that woman is so pretty to me.
• 28:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, well she was on, yes, and she was.
• 28:46
Speaker 1: She was very funny. Yeah she's very funny, all right.
• 28:48
Speaker 2: But not in this episode, buddy, she wasn't in this episode.
• 28:51
Speaker 1: Sorry, christ We're back to how hot you are? We
• 28:53
Speaker 1: got we digressed and started talking about name this morning.
• 28:56
Speaker 1: We gotta have Christa on.
• 28:57
Speaker 2: By the way, I agree with you one hundred percent.
• 28:59
Speaker 2: I think we should have Johnny and Judy.
• 29:00
Speaker 1: Of course, Johnny and christ so we gotta get we
• 29:02
Speaker 1: got to schedule them.
• 29:04
Speaker 2: Try and get Neil and Ken. It'd be really interesting.
• 29:06
Speaker 1: Let's go through all the main stars and then and
• 29:10
Speaker 1: then and then and start being in them directors and writers.
• 29:12
Speaker 2: And well, let's ask the fans also who they want
• 29:15
  Speaker 2: to see?
• 29:15
Speaker 1: Just drop us, tell us on the social media. Who
• 29:19
Speaker 1: do you want to hear?
• 29:19
Speaker 2: Yeah? Who you want to hear? Here, guys, we'll reach
• 29:22
  Speaker 2: out to anyone.
• 29:23
Speaker 1: Do you remember the Magic Garden when we were growing up?
• 29:26
  Speaker 2: Absolutely no.
• 29:27
Speaker 1: I don't know if you had this if you're listening
• 29:29
Speaker 1: where you grew up, but it was was it like
• 29:30
Speaker 1: a local East Coast I feel like it.
• 29:33
Speaker 2: Was like a PBS show, But I'm sure there were
• 29:36
Speaker 2: so many people who were local.
• 29:38
Speaker 1: I don't know, because we grew up a half hour
• 29:40
Speaker 1: from each other, him, me and Jersey and him in Manhattan.
• 29:42
Speaker 1: But anyway, there was this logo show, and I remember
• 29:44
Speaker 1: at the end they would go and and she'd have
• 29:47
Speaker 1: like a magic class, and she'd look into the camera
• 29:49
Speaker 1: and she'd go, n I see Jin and John and
• 29:53
Speaker 1: Tony do you remember And she would just list.
• 29:55
Speaker 2: Off like a bunch of names.
• 29:56
Speaker 1: Ye, a bunch of names. And of course now as
• 29:57
Speaker 1: an adult, I'm going, oh, the woman was just listing
• 29:59
Speaker 1: off the those popular names, so the maximum amount of
• 30:02
Speaker 1: kids go oh my god, she sees she never said
• 30:05
Speaker 1: does she ever say Donald?
• 30:06
Speaker 2: No, well, I didn't go as Donald as a kid.
• 30:08
Speaker 2: I was at Dao Shoon.
• 30:09
Speaker 1: So funny. She's like, I see Tom and John and
• 30:14
Speaker 1: Adeo Shoon. I love that show. I would love that.
• 30:19
Speaker 1: I got a YouTube the Magic Garden, but I remember
• 30:21
Speaker 1: just being tripped out. The reason I thought of that
• 30:23
Speaker 1: random thought was like, we could do that with her
• 30:25
Speaker 1: before we go, Hey, hey, John, Tom, Jennifer, Jessica, we'd
• 30:31
Speaker 1: like to hear what you think.
• 30:33
Speaker 2: And then you got to say some like different names
• 30:35
Speaker 2: that Mosha fu kwan A, Bertha, Tariq, Malik, Taick because
• 30:43
Speaker 2: some people aren't Tarik, some people are Taick.
• 30:46
Speaker 1: Some people are Anthrony.
• 30:47
Speaker 2: We found that out. Yes there is an Anthony.
• 30:50
  Speaker 1: Yes, Shalom.
• 30:52
Speaker 2: I don't know anybody named Shalom.
• 30:53
  Speaker 1: I do.
• 30:54
Speaker 2: But that's like asked, do you know any white people
• 30:56
Speaker 2: with the last name Washington? No, do you know any
• 31:00
Speaker 2: white people with the last name Jefferson Thomas? Yeah, that's
• 31:05
Speaker 2: saying something, isn't it.
• 31:08
Speaker 1: Listen, let's talk about you and me, missus Jones. So
• 31:11
Speaker 1: you're in the end of the room and you're singing
• 31:12
Speaker 1: the song. If it was really sexy and romantic, I
• 31:15
Speaker 1: felt like you and Judy were really to make out
• 31:18
  Speaker 1: for real.
• 31:18
Speaker 2: There I was saying that. I was I was gonna
• 31:21
Speaker 2: say that about the show. Uh, Carla and Turk are
• 31:25
  Speaker 2: so cute.
• 31:26
Speaker 1: Yeah, they're so cute.
• 31:28
Speaker 2: You really root for them. And I find myself when
• 31:32
Speaker 2: I watch it. I find myself, you know, looking back
• 31:35
Speaker 2: at it. Obviously, I thought, uh, Judy Rayes was is
• 31:41
Speaker 2: and still is an amazing actress. But I looked at
• 31:44
Speaker 2: her like my sister, you know what I mean. And
• 31:46
Speaker 2: so when we did the scenes, it was, you know,
• 31:49
Speaker 2: me doing scenes with my sister. Now that I look
• 31:52
Speaker 2: back at it, though, it's like, wow, we had such
• 31:56
Speaker 2: good chemistry, because you did.
• 31:57
Speaker 1: But I don't think it was like your sister, did you.
• 32:00
Speaker 2: Judy was Judy was the type of per Listen, you
• 32:03
Speaker 2: were attracted her when I look well, yeah, when we
• 32:06
Speaker 2: did scenes and stuff like that. But when I look back,
• 32:09
Speaker 2: let me finish. When I look back at it now,
• 32:10
Speaker 2: I'm like, yo, dude, I wonder why I never looked
• 32:15
Speaker 2: at Judy and I know why because you know they're
• 32:18
Speaker 2: a saying never shit where you eat, you know what
• 32:20
  Speaker 2: I mean, that's not.
• 32:21
Speaker 1: You didn't allow yourself to fall in love or.
• 32:25
Speaker 2: To feel that type of way. But when I look
• 32:27
Speaker 2: back at it now, I'm like, holy cow, Judy was
• 32:30
Speaker 2: there his whole time, and she looks, oh like, well,
• 32:35
Speaker 2: not only that, she's just such an amazing actress, you
• 32:38
Speaker 2: know what I mean. And she played Carlos, so you
• 32:41
Speaker 2: know so well. You know, she spoke for a lot
• 32:44
Speaker 2: of people. You know, Judy did for nurses for for
• 32:48
Speaker 2: uh at the time, there won a lot of latinas
• 32:50
Speaker 2: on television, you know what I mean. It was like
• 32:52
Speaker 2: j Lo and that's it, dude, you know what I mean,
• 32:54
Speaker 2: twenty years ago, and Judy was the other one, you
• 32:57
Speaker 2: know what I mean. And so you know, big prop
• 33:00
Speaker 2: to Judy rays Man.
• 33:01
Speaker 1: You. I also wanted to say that it's interesting in
• 33:03
Speaker 1: this episode that both women are are really in charge
• 33:09
Speaker 1: of of their sexuality and their power in the bedroom.
• 33:13
Speaker 1: Is I just noticed that there's a parallel on this
• 33:16
Speaker 1: Both Carla and Jordan are calling the shots in these
• 33:21
  Speaker 1: sexual encounters.
• 33:23
Speaker 2: But that's how it should be, you know what I mean.
• 33:24
Speaker 2: If we're in it together. We're all doing this. You
• 33:27
Speaker 2: know what I mean.
• 33:27
Speaker 1: Well, I mean it could be whoever a couple wants it.
• 33:30
Speaker 1: But I'm just saying I noticed just in this episode
• 33:33
Speaker 1: that there's there's some of these parallel stories of of
• 33:37
Speaker 1: of strong women in the bedroom, and and Jordan says
• 33:40
Speaker 1: to JD, you had absolutely nothing to do with why
• 33:42
Speaker 1: I left with you. I thought that was really funny.
• 33:44
Speaker 2: I thought that was hilarious when she's given you the
• 33:46
Speaker 2: whole speeches, like you know, you meet someone and you
• 33:48
Speaker 2: hope that it goes. I'm sorry that we've got a date.
• 33:53
Speaker 1: I also allowed I laughed out loud at four fifty
• 33:56
Speaker 1: one when you said, tell her put the game down.
• 33:58
Speaker 2: Tell telling them what I let him, put the cane down.
• 34:02
Speaker 2: I had no recollection of that.
• 34:04
Speaker 1: You don't hear that seat.
• 34:05
Speaker 2: I don't remember that at all. That shit had me rolling.
• 34:08
Speaker 1: You don't remember that woman at all.
• 34:10
Speaker 2: No, I know that, I know that the character passes
• 34:12
  Speaker 2: away later on.
• 34:12
Speaker 1: I do know that Boilers.
• 34:14
Speaker 2: I mean, if you haven't watched the show.
• 34:16
Speaker 1: I think if you've listening to this, he watched the
• 34:18
  Speaker 1: show was funny.
• 34:20
Speaker 2: Put the cane down, telling her to put the cane down. Also,
• 34:24
Speaker 2: Elliot sees the janitor and the whole angry Yeah, I
• 34:28
Speaker 2: told you that little freaking the janitor is a figment
• 34:31
Speaker 2: of JD's imagination. It doesn't track telling.
• 34:34
Speaker 1: Donald, I know, and I'm sad about it because it
• 34:36
Speaker 1: was a beautiful lore and I don't poke holes in
• 34:39
Speaker 1: in in in allure that I feel like Bill himself
• 34:42
Speaker 1: has propagated. But he doesn't remember all these little moments.
• 34:46
Speaker 1: And you know what Sarah told every We've all been
• 34:49
Speaker 1: saying the season one, he didn't talk to anyone and
• 34:51
Speaker 1: he doesn't really, but he does interact with Sarah. I
• 34:54
  Speaker 1: wrote it down.
• 34:55
Speaker 2: Donald's absolutely because what she does triggers him to do
• 34:58
Speaker 2: what he does to you up.
• 35:01
Speaker 1: And so I'm sorry, I'm sad to say we are.
• 35:04
Speaker 1: I feel like we're like detectives and we're uncovering the truth. Absolutely,
• 35:10
Speaker 1: that little, that little bit of Scrubs lore is bullshit.
• 35:14
Speaker 2: Well, not only that, they also set up something that
• 35:18
Speaker 2: goes away for a while, but Elliott's relationship with her mom. Also,
• 35:22
Speaker 2: Elliott talking to her mom on the on the telephone
• 35:26
Speaker 2: and her mom talking about how short hair gives her
• 35:28
Speaker 2: pig face. Yes so, but later on we bring in
• 35:32
Speaker 2: Markey Post yes, absolutely, to play Elliot's mom, and the
• 35:38
Speaker 2: storyline still works from that phone call. But they set
• 35:41
Speaker 2: it up in this phone call. I don't know how
• 35:43
Speaker 2: many episodes later or how it might even been seasons
• 35:46
Speaker 2: when Marquee comes on.
• 35:48
Speaker 1: Right, I forgot when that happens, when all our parents come.
• 35:50
Speaker 1: But yeah, so you're getting backstory on Sarah. And also
• 35:55
Speaker 1: there's a big thing in this episode about therapy. I mean,
• 35:57
Speaker 1: I was watching you give like a advocates for therapy
• 36:01
Speaker 1: in this episode, and I thought I was just watching this,
• 36:03
Speaker 1: going that's a good public service announcement for people to hear,
• 36:06
Speaker 1: you know, from a character they like, this is two
• 36:09
Speaker 1: thousand and one. And I think this depending on how
• 36:14
Speaker 1: you grew up. I happened to grow up with my
• 36:16
Speaker 1: mom was a psychologist and my stepfather was a psychologist.
• 36:18
Speaker 1: I had therapy all over my life. But depending on
• 36:20
Speaker 1: how it grew up, there can be stigma around it.
• 36:23
Speaker 1: And I was happy to see that Bill and the
• 36:26
Speaker 1: writers wrote in this sort of you know, advocacy for
• 36:30
  Speaker 1: seeing a therapist.
• 36:31
Speaker 2: Oh, I totally agree. It's really interesting. How you know
• 36:35
Speaker 2: it's twenty years ago, but we're still talking about issues
• 36:38
Speaker 2: that are really important today. And I know we bring
• 36:41
Speaker 2: this up a lot, but I'm really proud of that.
• 36:43
Speaker 2: You know, I'm really proud to be on a show
• 36:45
Speaker 2: that that did that. Even every time I see something
• 36:48
Speaker 2: like that, I'm like, holy cow, we were talking about
• 36:51
Speaker 2: that well before, like even the talking about the Rock
• 36:54
Speaker 2: and how the Rock was a movie star. I'm proud
• 36:57
Speaker 2: that we knew that back then we called it, you
• 36:59
  Speaker 2: know what I mean, I'm so I I am so
• 37:03
Speaker 2: happy that we knew what the heck we were talking about.
• 37:06
Speaker 2: The Simpsons do it a lot.
• 37:07
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they always forecast well anyway, you know, Donald
• 37:11
Speaker 1: and I both believe in in therapy. So if you're
• 37:15
Speaker 1: we're here to say, we're here to say that if
• 37:18
Speaker 1: you're having trouble and you need help, you should please
• 37:20
Speaker 1: see a therapist now, because it's there's been plenty of
• 37:23
Speaker 1: times in my life where that has been very very
• 37:25
Speaker 1: helpful to me to get me through some rocky times.
• 37:29
Speaker 1: And uh, as a as a as a son of
• 37:32
Speaker 1: a of two therapists psychologists, I have to repeat that
• 37:36
Speaker 1: it's been very helpful for me at times, and.
• 37:39
Speaker 2: It seems to really work for Elliott who's having a
• 37:42
Speaker 2: really hard time in this episode.
• 37:45
Speaker 1: That was funny. That guy did a good job. The
• 37:47
Speaker 1: whole got to hear the guy just can't talk to
• 37:50
Speaker 1: Elliott sitting there asking for free therapy.
• 37:54
Speaker 2: That joke is hilarious. How does it make you feel?
• 37:57
Speaker 2: She goes, I don't know what makes me feel, and
• 37:58
Speaker 2: then he puts up the sign pills so I don't
• 38:02
Speaker 2: need to do pain pills.
• 38:03
Speaker 1: He's like, for me, that's funny. I laughed at six
• 38:07
Speaker 1: fifty one when when Ken goes, heck, maybe even get
• 38:11
  Speaker 1: to meet Charro.
• 38:12
Speaker 2: Right, but that's such a such a smart joke.
• 38:16
Speaker 1: To explain to the young folks that Charro was often
• 38:18
Speaker 1: on the show love Boat, and he's making a we
• 38:20
Speaker 1: got a lot of eighties TV references in this episode.
• 38:22
Speaker 2: Absolutely, but he But it's such a smart joke also
• 38:26
Speaker 2: because you know, that's one of those shows where the
• 38:29
Speaker 2: doctor on the ship cares about everyone on the boat
• 38:33
Speaker 2: and wants to make sure that everyone on the boat
• 38:35
Speaker 2: lives right and or whatever it is, it's healthy, et cetera.
• 38:39
Speaker 2: And Cox got suspended for breaking the rules and caring
• 38:44
Speaker 2: about his patient, and so the joke goes even deeper
• 38:47
Speaker 2: when he says to him, you know, maybe you should
• 38:49
Speaker 2: get on a cruise ship. I don't know. They could
• 38:51
Speaker 2: call you Doc and you guys could sail in from
• 38:53
Speaker 2: wherever to wherever and you could maybe even meet Charro.
• 38:56
Speaker 2: Yeah that makes so much sense to the character itself,
• 39:00
Speaker 2: and the joke is funny also, you know what I mean,
• 39:03
Speaker 2: like it all blinds.
• 39:05
Speaker 1: We end up having a lot of love boat docs on.
• 39:07
Speaker 2: Yeah, we did have some love We had Doc, we
• 39:10
Speaker 2: had Isaac, we had I know they were on the show.
• 39:13
  Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, okay.
• 39:14
Speaker 2: We also had Saying Elsewhere. We had some of the
• 39:16
Speaker 2: oh yeah, we did a whole episodes with Ed Bagueley.
• 39:20
Speaker 2: We had a bunch of people.
• 39:21
Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, see this is our memory. So screwge
• 39:23
Speaker 1: Scrubs fans. So sorry if you're if you're laughing at
• 39:25
Speaker 1: we all, but we vaguely do.
• 39:27
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 39:28
Speaker 1: So at seven to twenty five, Ken walks off singing
• 39:30
Speaker 1: row your boat. And for those of you who don't know,
• 39:32
Speaker 1: there's all these songs that are public domain, which means
• 39:34
Speaker 1: you don't have to pay to use them because on
• 39:37
  Speaker 1: a TV show, if it's if it's if it's not
• 39:40
Speaker 1: a public domain song, if the license it, and they
• 39:42
Speaker 1: can obviously be some of these songs we had on
• 39:44
Speaker 1: scrubs can be super expensive. But there's like this list
• 39:47
Speaker 1: of songs that that we always had, the script supervisors
• 39:50
Speaker 1: that always had and we just wanted to sponsaneously had
• 39:52
Speaker 1: someone singing something. You can like, look at the free
• 39:56
Speaker 1: song list and row row your boat is one of them.
• 39:58
Speaker 1: I was looking at some of the others. For a
• 39:59
Speaker 1: very long time. Happy Birthday was not public domain and
• 40:03
  Speaker 1: it was expensive.
• 40:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's a crap ton of money. It
• 40:07
Speaker 2: since changed, but that's the reason why Stevie Wonder woke
• 40:10
Speaker 2: the song happy Birthday to Your Happy Birthday, to Your
• 40:16
Speaker 2: Happy Birthday. That originally it was from Martin Luther King,
• 40:21
Speaker 2: and I believe he wanted to just sing the original
• 40:24
Speaker 2: Happy Birthday song, but it costs so much money that
• 40:26
Speaker 2: Stevie was like, Yo, you know what, I'll create another song,
• 40:29
Speaker 2: and he created Happy Birthday to you Happy. I have
• 40:35
Speaker 2: no idea if that's true, but I don't know either,
• 40:36
Speaker 2: but it sounds true.
• 40:37
Speaker 1: Well, listen if you're ever watching TV shows or movies now,
• 40:40
Speaker 1: and you'll see a lot of times when they bring
• 40:42
Speaker 1: the cake in, they'll avoid singing Happy Birthday. They'll sing
• 40:45
Speaker 1: like for he's a jolly good fellow, or they do
• 40:47
Speaker 1: something that's so non natural to what most in the
• 40:51
Speaker 1: real world. It's because they're avoiding having to pay for
• 40:53
Speaker 1: happy Birthday, although that since changed. I think now it's
• 40:56
Speaker 1: become public domain. Anyway, you guys can google public domain
• 40:59
Speaker 1: songs and learn which ones are.
• 41:00
Speaker 2: Okay, so, but check this out. Did you realize that
• 41:03
Speaker 2: there are people in the bed in the title sequence?
• 41:06
Speaker 2: I can't do this all on my own. They're like,
• 41:11
Speaker 2: there are people in the beds, yeah, and you see
• 41:14
Speaker 2: their faces. For Scrubs fans out there, I would love
• 41:19
Speaker 2: if you were able to find who those people were
• 41:23
Speaker 2: in the bed in the title sequence, because they did not.
• 41:26
Speaker 2: They had nine years on television and I don't think
• 41:29
Speaker 2: anyone's ever asked, who knows people in the bed?
• 41:32
Speaker 1: Can you really make out any faces? I'm scrolling through
• 41:34
Speaker 1: it slow right now.
• 41:35
Speaker 2: You can make out faces? Yes?
• 41:37
Speaker 1: Okay, Well, there you go. Donald has a request if
• 41:40
Speaker 1: you're in the title sequence in bed slide, if.
• 41:43
Speaker 2: You're into Scrubs trivia, I have the ultimate trivia for you.
• 41:48
Speaker 2: Who are the patients in the bed in the title sequence?
• 41:53
Speaker 1: I have some This is the first episode where we
• 41:55
Speaker 1: learned that Cox's name is Perry Nice. There's another episode
• 42:00
Speaker 1: all of that's called My Bad Too spelled too.
• 42:04
Speaker 2: Like, look who's talking to Yes.
• 42:07
Speaker 1: The footage at the end of Jordan's wedding is actually
• 42:10
Speaker 1: from Bill and Christa's wedding. Did you know that?
• 42:13
Speaker 2: I figured that out? That was pretty easy.
• 42:15
Speaker 1: She looks so pretty. Huh.
• 42:16
Speaker 2: Also, that's I guess he's not watching it on television.
• 42:19
Speaker 2: So is this a fantasy that doctor Cox has early on?
• 42:24
Speaker 1: It must be a flashback. That's interesting. That's an interesting point.
• 42:27
Speaker 1: Did other people have flashbacks besides JD It looks like
• 42:31
Speaker 1: Perry did Perry Perry Cox?
• 42:33
  Speaker 2: Did?
• 42:34
Speaker 1: I like this as a homage to the graduate at
• 42:37
Speaker 1: ten minutes in one second when I dropped my pants
• 42:41
Speaker 1: and through my legs to see Jordan in her leather
• 42:45
Speaker 1: dress a Mark Buckland homage to the graduate Nice, and
• 42:50
Speaker 1: I look very skinny when I'm lying on the bed.
• 42:53
Speaker 1: I was happy about that.
• 42:54
Speaker 2: It's really interesting when you're twenty six years old. When
• 42:57
Speaker 2: you're twenty six years.
• 42:57
Speaker 1: Old, it's easier to get abs.
• 42:59
Speaker 2: Well. Back at I look back at all of this stuff,
• 43:01
Speaker 2: I was like, I remember dieting and going to the
• 43:04
Speaker 2: gym all the time and trying to you know what
• 43:06
Speaker 2: I mean, I'd killed to weigh that much again.
• 43:09
Speaker 1: It's so hard to You can work so much harder
• 43:12
Speaker 1: to so much less effect in your forties. Yeah yeah,
• 43:18
Speaker 1: love handles fucking left and right.
• 43:20
Speaker 2: Love handle ship. I eat a cookie, that shit stays
• 43:22
Speaker 2: on my ass like like.
• 43:24
Speaker 1: A melted candle. I'm trying, though. Do you find when
• 43:28
Speaker 1: you're doing scenes and you're in your boxers that there's
• 43:30
Speaker 1: a there's a fine line between not wanting to look
• 43:35
Speaker 1: like there's nothing going on but also not wanting to
• 43:37
Speaker 1: overdo it. You don't have that problem.
• 43:39
  Speaker 2: I can't have.
• 43:40
Speaker 1: And looked at your face. I knew your answer was
• 43:43
Speaker 1: going to have that problem.
• 43:44
Speaker 2: I've never thought about. Are you talking about fluffing?
• 43:48
Speaker 1: You're talking not fluffing. I don't mean to getting any
• 43:50
Speaker 1: blood going. I just mean, like, when I was looking
• 43:52
Speaker 1: at myself lying in the bend there, I think I
• 43:53
Speaker 1: remember being like, okay, well, I don't obviously don't want
• 43:55
Speaker 1: any thing to show, but I also don't look like
• 43:58
Speaker 1: I'm like a ken doll, So like, is there a
• 44:00
Speaker 1: happy medium where I can and what are you looking
• 44:03
  Speaker 1: at me?
• 44:05
  Speaker 2: Out?
• 44:06
Speaker 1: Joel's cracking up right now? I'm so sad that you're like,
• 44:09
Speaker 1: I have no idea, No.
• 44:10
Speaker 2: I just want to know what you figured out. What
• 44:11
Speaker 2: did you decide to do. I think I gave moment.
• 44:14
Speaker 1: I think I gave everything a little ruffle.
• 44:17
  Speaker 2: I'm done. I'm done. I'm done, I'm done.
• 44:22
Speaker 1: Give everything a little On that note, let's cool down.
• 44:29
Speaker 1: Let's cool down and take a commercial break.
• 44:31
Speaker 2: Let's do it, and we are back. And we're back
• 44:42
  Speaker 2: with the caller.
• 44:43
Speaker 1: Well introduced us to today's college. It looks like there's
• 44:46
Speaker 1: two colleges. Joel will give it to.
• 44:50
Speaker 2: Susan bought a friend. Susan bought a friend.
• 44:53
Speaker 1: It's like a millionaire. You can bring a friend, call
• 44:55
Speaker 1: a friend. I have to bring my husband. Sorry, I
• 44:58
Speaker 1: love it, damn it. I always get that. I'm so sorry. Hi, guys,
• 45:06
Speaker 1: why we've I've been drinking all day. So sorry.
• 45:10
Speaker 2: Oh no it Donald, It's so it's fine.
• 45:16
Speaker 1: Oh. I love your accent. I'm such a fan of
• 45:18
Speaker 1: that accent. Okay, go ahead with the question for the
• 45:22
Speaker 1: legendary Donald Faison or me whach ever one?
• 45:25
Speaker 2: Yeah, for both of you.
• 45:26
Speaker 5: You've mentioned in podcasts two that you didn't get to
• 45:29
Speaker 5: steal rowdy or take rowdy.
• 45:31
Speaker 1: But what did you take from the sets? You must
• 45:34
Speaker 1: have taken something. I got something I can grab for you, Donald,
• 45:37
Speaker 1: Did you take anything?
• 45:38
Speaker 2: I did, but I don't know where they are anymore.
• 45:40
Speaker 2: I did get quite a few scrubs, the green ones,
• 45:44
Speaker 2: and I do have some sneakers from the show as well. Yes,
• 45:48
Speaker 2: not the bowling shoes. I don't have the bowling shoes
• 45:50
  Speaker 2: on four.
• 45:51
Speaker 1: You see these antlers, These are from the pilot when
• 45:54
Speaker 1: I was a deer in headlights.
• 45:56
Speaker 2: So these are actually the scrubs.
• 45:58
Speaker 1: Donald did his closets. Just reached down to the gallery.
• 46:03
Speaker 2: These shoes right here are the actual Scrubs wrap party
• 46:07
Speaker 2: shoes that they gave us.
• 46:09
Speaker 1: Those are limited edition and you wore them mine or
• 46:11
  Speaker 1: mine are mint?
• 46:12
Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, she's were worn you know.
• 46:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't wear your own swag. It's a little lame.
• 46:17
Speaker 2: Well, it's fuck you man. First of all, it says
• 46:20
Speaker 2: Scrubs in the back, and it's the hundredth episode, and
• 46:24
Speaker 2: I did rock them.
• 46:25
Speaker 1: I never like when you're an actor on the show,
• 46:27
Speaker 1: you can't normally wear like the squat. You look a
• 46:29
Speaker 1: little douche you wearing like the scrub sneakers.
• 46:32
Speaker 2: Oh, man, I still have pants from Scrubs that I
• 46:35
Speaker 2: wore a pair of pants for a real long time,
• 46:38
Speaker 2: like most of them. So Susan, to answer your question,
• 46:42
Speaker 2: most of the stuff that I got from Scrubs was
• 46:47
Speaker 2: wardrobe because it was easy. It's easy to steal wardrobe.
• 46:51
Speaker 2: Quiet has kept when you're acting in a project on
• 46:54
Speaker 2: the last day, when you know you're never gonna see
• 46:57
Speaker 2: anybody again, you can get away with some things if
• 46:59
Speaker 2: the wardrobe department is cool with it, and most likely
• 47:03
Speaker 2: isn't going to be the stuff that you wore in
• 47:04
Speaker 2: the show, but it's stuff that they'll probably have to
• 47:09
Speaker 2: return or something like that, and they'll take the hit.
• 47:11
  Speaker 2: I stole a lot of I didn't steal. Actually I
• 47:14
Speaker 2: took and it was allowed to take. I liberated quite
• 47:17
Speaker 2: a few outfits of Chris Turk's and most of them
• 47:21
  Speaker 2: were scrubs.
• 47:22
Speaker 1: When you're hanging which you're hanging behind him? Soon? Do
• 47:26
Speaker 1: you have another question in my head?
• 47:28
Speaker 2: First of all, you guys are so cute.
• 47:29
Speaker 1: Oh yes, how's your isolation going over there in Scotland?
• 47:35
Speaker 5: This is our fourth week and it's tough, but the
• 47:40
Speaker 5: way that's good at the moment.
• 47:41
Speaker 1: So that's helpful, right this, Yes, that's happened to us
• 47:45
Speaker 1: in Los Angeles as well. It's been raining NonStop and
• 47:48
Speaker 1: the sun finally came out, so I think we can.
• 47:50
Speaker 1: It's a little bit easier to smile when the when
• 47:52
  Speaker 1: the sun's oh.
• 47:53
Speaker 5: Yeah, just be glad to when it's all over. Yeah,
• 47:56
Speaker 5: do you guys ever get drunk? And we love all skates.
• 48:00
Speaker 5: She's like the Sanford and songs one because I just
• 48:02
  Speaker 5: will that's my husband's feed.
• 48:05
Speaker 1: Me and my son. Actually this song?
• 48:09
Speaker 2: Do you do the song? Donald?
• 48:10
Speaker 1: Can you do a little bit for me?
• 48:12
  Speaker 2: There's there's there's the there's the sanfred in some theme,
• 48:15
Speaker 2: and then there's the Turk version when Carla won't when
• 48:18
Speaker 2: Carla won't leave him alone?
• 48:20
  Speaker 1: You remember it?
• 48:21
Speaker 2: Quiet down, now it is time to watch the show. Yes,
• 48:25
Speaker 2: it started. Don't be licking me, no mold, matter of fact.
• 48:30
Speaker 2: Can I get a handy? Why? And then we come
• 48:42
Speaker 2: back from break after we sang it just you do
• 48:46
Speaker 2: like Sanfredan sona bran up? Fine?
• 48:57
  Speaker 5: Fine?
• 49:00
Speaker 2: And you even did Elizabeth I'm coming Elizabeth. Yeah.
• 49:06
Speaker 1: He used to die in almost every episode like this.
• 49:12
Speaker 1: It's not a program where you had over here at all.
• 49:14
Speaker 1: So we had to google the obviously the credits to
• 49:18
Speaker 1: find out what the original Oh really, really, I think
• 49:21
Speaker 1: I know what you guys are doing tonight. You're gonna
• 49:23
Speaker 1: go on YouTube or wherever and start watching some Sanford and.
• 49:26
Speaker 2: Son Samford and Son marathon. Sounds great right now?
• 49:29
Speaker 1: Actually, nothing else to do, I suppose.
• 49:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's listen if you want to laugh a nothing
• 49:36
Speaker 2: like Red Fox going at it. Oh my gosh, he's
• 49:39
Speaker 2: one of the I mean Red Foxes. He was before
• 49:44
Speaker 2: Richard Pryor, before Eddie Murphy. It was red you know
• 49:47
  Speaker 2: what I mean.
• 49:47
Speaker 1: So it really is the theme of this podcast episode
• 49:50
Speaker 1: of eighty eighty sitcoms.
• 49:53
Speaker 2: Yeah, well that's a seventy sitcom.
• 49:54
Speaker 1: I think I'm really proud of us that we we
• 49:57
Speaker 1: we developed a theme for this one. Absolutely all right, guys, Well,
• 50:01
Speaker 1: thank you for calling in all the way from Scotland,
• 50:03
Speaker 1: and keep drinking and.

• 50:16
Speaker 1: couldn't get the Irish Scottish thing, right, That's that's what
• 50:18
Speaker 1: you never do. You're going to get so much ship
• 50:20
Speaker 1: for that. I'm so upset you never do d to
• 50:23
Speaker 1: all my people of Ireland and Scotland. I'm sorry. One
• 50:26
Speaker 1: day I planned to get it right.
• 50:29
Speaker 2: You took a picture, Susan. Susan took a picture.
• 50:33
Speaker 1: Trying to sneak out the door by taking a figures.
• 50:35
Speaker 2: Don't worry about it.
• 50:36
Speaker 1: I would have fixed my hair, Susan.
• 50:38
  Speaker 2: I don't worry about it.
• 50:38
Speaker 1: I did not put any product.
• 50:42
Speaker 2: No, it didn't. We just heard it. We just heard it.
• 50:44
Speaker 2: But it's all right.
• 50:44
Speaker 1: Don't worry about Susan.
• 50:45
Speaker 2: You could post it on Instagram or Facebook or whatever
• 50:48
Speaker 2: it is that you have. Just be like, look what
• 50:53
Speaker 2: show we were on. We love the press, Thank you
• 50:56

• 51:04
Speaker 2: they were so cute.
• 51:05
Speaker 1: I want to be friends with them.
• 51:06
Speaker 2: He totally jacked it. She was like, I'm gonna be
• 51:08
Speaker 2: I got in, I got it, I got it.
• 51:10
Speaker 1: And he was like, you're sitting there in Scotland and quarantine.
• 51:12
Speaker 1: He's not gonna be like, oh, I'll go in the
• 51:13
Speaker 1: other room. He's like, yeah, let me on that fucking
• 51:15
  Speaker 1: zoom call.
• 51:16
Speaker 2: Yeah, you know. He was like, you know, you know,
• 51:21
Speaker 2: you know what we're doing at one you know what
• 51:22
  Speaker 2: we're doing it.
• 51:23
Speaker 1: One, not at one. What time is it there?
• 51:25
  Speaker 2: It's I don't know, it's like eight hour difference.
• 51:27
  Speaker 1: It's eight hours, right o'clock.
• 51:30
Speaker 2: You know we're doing a ten. You know we're doing
• 51:32
  Speaker 2: a ten.
• 51:33
Speaker 1: I'm on name. It was a surprise. Maybe she didn't
• 51:35
Speaker 1: tell them. She's like, we're gonna zoom some old friends.
• 51:38
Speaker 2: He was the cob. That was the Calmus reaction.
• 51:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, well they were. She said, they've been drinking all day.
• 51:43
Speaker 1: That's true, Like you are you drinking orange juice? That's
• 51:47
Speaker 1: a fucking mimosa. It's gotta be.
• 51:49
Speaker 2: This is orange juice.
• 51:51
Speaker 1: Is there any screw in that driver?
• 51:53
Speaker 2: There is no screw, but there is taki.
• 51:57
Speaker 1: Motherfucker. I knew what's that called orange juice?
• 51:59
Speaker 2: To keep tequila? Sunrise? Right?
• 52:01
  Speaker 1: The sunrise?
• 52:03
  Speaker 2: Okay.
• 52:05
Speaker 1: I think it's such a fucked up thing at sixteen
• 52:07
Speaker 1: forty three to say someone to someone, I don't dislike you.
• 52:10
  Speaker 1: I nothing you.
• 52:11
Speaker 2: Yeah, And that's a that's an actual Krista Miller is saying, yes.
• 52:16
Speaker 1: I have no feelings for you. Know, you don't understand you.
• 52:19
Speaker 1: So little affect me that I don't even have energy.
• 52:22
  Speaker 1: I don't right, I don't even I don't even have
• 52:24
Speaker 1: feelings of not liking you.
• 52:25
Speaker 2: I just I just don't think of nothing you.
• 52:27
Speaker 1: I don't even think about you.
• 52:28
Speaker 2: I remember, I remember Chrystal telling me, she's like, you,
• 52:31
Speaker 2: if you ever want to hurt someone, she she oh,
• 52:35
  Speaker 2: she handed out.
• 52:35
  Speaker 5: Yeah.
• 52:36
Speaker 2: She was like, this is how you do it. She
• 52:38
Speaker 2: was like, I've always thought this was the funniest way
• 52:40
Speaker 2: to do it. I don't dislike you. I nothing you
• 52:43
  Speaker 2: I nothing.
• 52:44
Speaker 1: You don't you know, we don't advise you being that
• 52:48
Speaker 1: mean to anyone in your life. You're that's covid well
• 52:51
Speaker 1: Doctor's Real Friends podcast.
• 52:52
Speaker 2: But it's the television show. It's a great joke.
• 52:54
Speaker 1: No, I'm just saying something to say to someone. Yeah,
• 52:57
Speaker 1: I remember we had a whole riff on like what's
• 52:59
Speaker 1: the worst thing that someone could ever say to you?
• 53:01
Speaker 1: And it was like, would you just please leaves? Oh
• 53:10
Speaker 1: my gosh, we like we like zoned in on, like
• 53:13
Speaker 1: what's the like if someone just looks at you and
• 53:15
Speaker 1: just says, but you just please leave? That was the
• 53:19
  Speaker 1: most hurtful.
• 53:20
Speaker 2: The horrible. Sean Hayes has a good one too, where
• 53:23
Speaker 2: you know where you're talking to someone and you don't
• 53:27
Speaker 2: want to talk to someone who's approaching, and they approach
• 53:32
Speaker 2: and you turn to them and go, you're gonna have
• 53:34
Speaker 2: to give me a second, and you turn back to
• 53:35
Speaker 2: the person you were talking to.
• 53:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, he had a lot of funny ones where you
• 53:39
Speaker 1: go someone interrupted you, I'm sorry, I'm not used to
• 53:41
  Speaker 1: being interrupted.
• 53:46
Speaker 2: I thought that was you, dude. You stole that one.
• 53:48
Speaker 1: Oh, I stole that from Shawn Hayes. That's going up,
• 53:51
Speaker 1: He's coming up in an episode.
• 53:52
  Speaker 2: I can't wait.
• 53:53
Speaker 1: Is that that was season one? Right?
• 53:55
Speaker 2: It definitely was season one because it happened.
• 53:57
Speaker 1: The same oh, September eleventh.
• 53:58
  Speaker 2: September eleventh. Yep.
• 54:00
Speaker 1: The song that ends the show is a Good Life
• 54:02
Speaker 1: by Holy con Yes.
• 54:04
Speaker 2: Can I say something please? I've been bumping Good Life
• 54:08
Speaker 2: in my car for the past and on my iPad
• 54:11
Speaker 2: or iPhone, whatever it is, my whatever, wherever it is.
• 54:15
Speaker 2: You listen to your music. Wherever it is, usten to
• 54:18
Speaker 2: your music. I have been bumping Good Life for about
• 54:22
Speaker 2: two years now, and I thought I found some deep
• 54:25
Speaker 2: cut on a not the best of playlist, but you know,
• 54:28
Speaker 2: like the you know how they have the eighties now
• 54:30
Speaker 2: music and they have like the love song from the
• 54:34
Speaker 2: eighties or love songs from the Coast or whatever it is,
• 54:38
  Speaker 2: you know what I mean. I thought I found a
• 54:39
Speaker 2: deep cut and it was good life, and then when
• 54:42
Speaker 2: it came on today, I was like, this is where
• 54:44
Speaker 2: I know the song from.
• 54:45
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a great song, and like like like you,
• 54:48
Speaker 1: I think a lot of people found some good tunes
• 54:50
Speaker 1: on scrubs. And just a reminder for those of you
• 54:53
Speaker 1: who don't know, on streaming platforms always have all the
• 54:57
Speaker 1: same songs that we reference on this podcast because of
• 55:00
Speaker 1: licensing deals. And these were all contracts that were signed
• 55:03
Speaker 1: before streaming existed, So it's really only on if you
• 55:07
Speaker 1: buy it iTunes or the DVDs. I'll tell you about it.
• 55:11
Speaker 1: We don't care, but I'm just saying that some of

Speaker 1: the music might be different, so you might be listening
• 55:15
Speaker 1: to something that's not Francis dunnering if you're streaming it
• 55:18
Speaker 1: because some of the songs didn't have contracts that lasted

• 55:37
Speaker 2: ah no is That was.
• 55:38

Speaker 1: also a close up shot of Jordan with the mirror.
• 55:42
Speaker 1: There's also the sidewage shot of Sarah from the from
• 55:45
Speaker 1: the Psychologists, a lot of cookie fun.
• 55:49
Speaker 2: Mark. I thought that was really cool. I think like
• 55:50
Speaker 2: the only time that I'd ever seen that was like
• 55:52
Speaker 2: Little Shapahara is when Steve Martin is looking in the
• 55:55
Speaker 2: person's mouth, He's like say ah, like ah.
• 56:00

Speaker 1: You could offer me a tequila sunrise or although I'm
• 56:33
Speaker 1: not day drinking yet today, I probably will in a
• 56:36
Speaker 1: bit because the sun's out. It might be time for
• 56:37
Speaker 1: an ice cold beverage.
• 56:39
Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, they say that during this pandemic quarantine,

• 56:51
Speaker 1: I love that marijuana in the at least Los Angeles
• 56:55
Speaker 1: has been considered an essential service. Of course, I respect
• 56:59
Speaker 1: that some people do for medicine and it is required
• 57:03
Speaker 1: to help them. For Donald and I, who don't always
• 57:06
Speaker 1: use it for medical purposes, we occasionally find ourselves using
• 57:10
Speaker 1: it for recreational services. I do appreciate that the weed
• 57:14
Speaker 1: stores are all open.
• 57:17

• 57:19
Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what, when you need to take a
• 57:21
Speaker 1: little bit of anxiety edge off.
• 57:24
Speaker 2: We're not endorsing it, but if anybody out there has
• 57:26
Speaker 2: a weed company and wants to sponsor our show, we'd
• 57:32
Speaker 2: be more than happy to first try your product. Right
• 57:40
Speaker 2: drug deals gone down on Zoom.
• 57:42
  Speaker 1: I don't know if there's any I don't know if
• 57:44
