- 0:12Hello friends. It's shown here.
- 0:15Welcome and great to have your company as you.
- 0:18And I today are going to continue reading through the
- 0:21book of 2nd Timothy here we are. It is Thursday.
- 0:25It is the 23rd of February. Now, what?
- 0:29I had a look. Today's a busy day.
- 0:31If you live in Guyana, happy, you've Republic Day if you live
- 0:34in Brunei happy national day. But if you don't live in either
- 0:39of those countries than I'd like to encourage you to celebrate
- 0:42banana bread day. You know, when you look through
- 0:44the fridge and you find some old bananas with a Skins black, they
- 0:49make the best banana bread. We are we in the Connery
- 0:52household. We are on a mission to reduce
- 0:54food waste. So I reckon we've got a couple
- 0:57of those in the in the crisp at the Bottom of the fridge.
- 1:00So, I think today, for afternoon tea, we might be having some
- 1:04delicious banana bread. I hope you are going well today,
- 1:09but whatever is going on. I am delighted that you and I
- 1:12get to put down our days and come before God to hear his word
- 1:18to us through, Paul to his young friend Timothy Let's put it
- 1:24down, friends, let's come before God, as we read together. 2nd,
- 1:28Timothy chapter 2. Timothy my dear son, be strong
- 1:44through the grace that God gives you in Christ.
- 1:46Jesus. You have heard me Teach things
- 1:48that have been confirmed by many reliable Witnesses.
- 1:52Now, teach these truths to other trustworthy, people who will be
- 1:56able to pass them on to others endure suffering, along with me
- 2:01as a good soldier of Christ. Jesus soldiers, don't get tied
- 2:05up in the Affairs of civilian life for then.
- 2:09They cannot please the officer who would listen Stood them and
- 2:12athletes cannot win the prize, unless they follow the rules and
- 2:16hard-working Farmers. Should be the first to enjoy the
- 2:19fruit of their labor. Think about what I'm saying, the
- 2:23Lord will help you understand all these things always remember
- 2:29that. Jesus Christ, a descendant of
- 2:31King, David was raised from the dead.
- 2:34This is the good news, I preach and because I preach this good
- 2:39news, I'm so Offering and have been chained like a criminal,
- 2:44but the word of God cannot be chained.
- 2:47So I'm willing to endure anything if it will bring
- 2:50Salvation and eternal glory in Christ.
- 2:53Jesus to those God has chosen. This is a trustworthy saying if
- 2:59we die with him we will also live with him.
- 3:04If we endure hardship, we will reign with him.
- 3:08If we deny him, he will. Will deny us.
- 3:12If we are Unfaithful, he remains faithful for he cannot deny who
- 3:18he is. Remind everyone about these
- 3:22things and command them in God's presence to stop fighting over
- 3:27words. Such arguments are useless and
- 3:30they can ruin those who hear them work hard.
- 3:35So you can present yourself to God and receive his approval.
- 3:38Be a good worker 1. It does not need to be ashamed
- 3:42and who correctly explains the word of Truth.
- 3:46Avoid worthless foolish talk that only leads to more Godless
- 3:50Behavior. This kind of talk spreads like
- 3:53cancer as in the case of hymenaeus and philetus they have
- 3:59left the path of Truth claiming that the resurrection of the
- 4:02dead has already occurred in this way, they have turned some
- 4:06people away from the faith. But God's truth stands firm like
- 4:12a foundation stone with this inscription.
- 4:16The Lord knows those who are his and all who belong to the Lord
- 4:22must turn away from evil. In a wealthy home, some utensils
- 4:28are made of gold and silver and some are made of wood and Clay.
- 4:32The expensive utensils are used for special occasions and the
- 4:36cheap ones are for everyday use. If you keep yourself pure, you
- 4:41will be a special utensil for honorable use your life will be
- 4:46clean and you will be ready for the master to use you for every
- 4:51good work. Run from anything that
- 4:54stimulates youthful Lusts. Instead pursue righteous living
- 5:00faithfulness, love and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those
- 5:05who call on the Lord with pure hearts.
- 5:08Again. I say don't get involved in
- 5:11foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights a servant of
- 5:15the Lord must not quarrel / must be kind to everyone and be able
- 5:20to teach and be patient with difficult people.
- 5:24Gently and Those who oppose the truth.
- 5:28Perhaps, God will change those people's hearts, and they will
- 5:32learn the truth, then they will come to their senses and Escape
- 5:36From The Devil's trap. For they have been held captive
- 5:39by him, to do whatever he wants. Jesus.
- 5:53We hear these words of encouragement from Paul, to his
- 5:56young friend and we hear them applying to ourselves as well.
- 6:02We hear him speak of being kind and working with faithfulness
- 6:08and love and peace and being patient even with difficult.
- 6:13People are Jesus, you know how hard that is for us.
- 6:17Difficult, people are difficult. But stir up your spirit that we
- 6:22would show your kindness and your patience.
- 6:26And that when we know we're right, and the others are wrong,
- 6:29rather than forcefully asserting our dominance and our
- 6:31correctness that we would. As Paul says, gently instruct
- 6:36those who oppose the truth because it's you, who changes
- 6:39people's hearts not us. We don't need to take on that
- 6:43burden of responsibility. We just need to be faithful and
- 6:47gentle and kind. I loving and allow you and your
- 6:53spirit transform people. Use us to make these changes for
- 6:59your kingdom. We love you.
- 7:02Jesus and it's in your name that we pray.
- 7:05Amen. We love you.
- 7:02Jesus and it's in your name that we pray.
- 7:05Amen.
