- 1:48Speaker 1: Now, I understand that a very discerning and I would
- 1:51Speaker 1: dare say wise raccoon has called in on the speak pipe,

- 2:10Speaker 1: shows that we're covering or about us, and we'd love
- 2:14Speaker 1: to hear from you, so please consider it.
- 2:16Speaker 3: And it's free, all right. So we got to speak
- 2:18Speaker 3: quite from Melanie. Hi, Melanie, Hi, and she's got a
- 2:22Speaker 3: question about Mary Brown. Okay, all right, let's get into it. Hi,
- 2:27Speaker 3: B and D.
- 2:28Speaker 4: I hope you're well. I'm Melanie. I'm from the UK,
- 2:31Speaker 4: and we don't have dumpsters here, or what we do
- 2:34Speaker 4: have dumpsters here, but we call them skips or skip bins,
- 2:38Speaker 4: and we don't have raccoons here. So I'm a squirrel
- 2:41Speaker 4: and I'm rooting about in the skip. So what I'm
- 2:45Speaker 4: getting in touch for is his wives. I'm quite fascinated
- 2:51Speaker 4: by the relationship and the role that Mary has played
- 2:57Speaker 4: in the downfall of the family into everyone's had a
- 3:01Speaker 4: role to play. And I'm not pinning anything, you know,
- 3:04Speaker 4: any more than anyone else apart from the obvious two
- 3:08Speaker 4: on Mary, but her support of Robin and Cody, and
- 3:14Speaker 4: her obvious favoritism of Robin's children over the children that
- 3:20Speaker 4: she allegedly as bought up as her own. And just
- 3:28Speaker 4: I just wonder if she had told if she had
- 3:31Speaker 4: held the line with the other two, how things maybe
- 3:36Speaker 4: would be different. I'm not suggesting it wouldn't have gone
- 3:41Speaker 4: to ratchet, but that it may have been different. It
- 3:46Speaker 4: may have been sooner, and there may have been less exploitation,
- 3:51Speaker 4: shall we say, of the wives and the children. So
- 3:55Speaker 4: I just would like to hear your thoughts on that.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Bye Bye, Melanie from the UK, another international raccoon. What
- 4:05Speaker 1: an interesting question, Yeah, what do you think? I mean.
- 4:09Speaker 3: I feel like Mary in the beginning didn't know it
- 4:12Speaker 3: was gonna turn to shit, and I feel like Robin
- 4:15Speaker 3: was her only ally because Christine probably hated Mary. Janelle
- 4:19Speaker 3: hates Mary for sure because Mary's a controlling bitch. So
- 4:22Speaker 3: I just feel like Mary was kind of naive a
- 4:26Speaker 3: bit in the beginning, like maybe she had kind of
- 4:29Speaker 3: an inkling like later on as time went on and
- 4:33Speaker 3: Cody started favoring Robin like a lot, like way more obviously,
- 4:37Speaker 3: then she started to pick up on it. But Mary's
- 4:39Speaker 3: also kind of dumb in my opinion, so I feel
- 4:41Speaker 3: like she just like wanted a friend because she's lonely.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Obviously she got catfished and wanted a friend to suck
- 4:49Speaker 3: on their banana. So I don't know. I feel like
- 4:52Speaker 3: Mary was kind of naive and didn't really know, but
- 4:57Speaker 3: then later in the season she knew and she probably
- 4:59Speaker 3: should have done something about it.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Yes, I think so. Like I think back to the
- 5:03Speaker 1: scene with Christine telling everybody that she's leaving the family
- 5:07Speaker 1: and Mary sitting there hard faced, not saying a word. Yeh,
- 5:11Speaker 1: no compassion, no grace for her other sister wife that
- 5:14Speaker 1: she's been in a relationship with for almost you know,
- 5:17Speaker 1: twenty years or however long Christine's been in the family,
- 5:20Speaker 1: just absolutely nothing but dust for Christine. And I do
- 5:24Speaker 1: imagine a world where what if, you know, Mary around
- 5:28Speaker 1: the time of the catfish, like went to Janelle and
- 5:31Speaker 1: Christine first and foremost to make amends for the things
- 5:34Speaker 1: that she did to those women that they are still
- 5:36Speaker 1: harboring against her. Maybe she could have made some headway
- 5:39Speaker 1: had she tried earlier. Second, like, what if she actually
- 5:43Speaker 1: aligned herself with Christine and Janelle? What if they were
- 5:45Speaker 1: actually able to get together in a room to talk
- 5:48Speaker 1: about the glaring inequities that you know, Cody's spending all
- 5:51Speaker 1: this time with Robin and not them, Like, what do
- 5:53Speaker 1: we think about what if she supported them? What if
- 5:55Speaker 1: she validated them? What if she acknowledged what was going on?
- 6:00Speaker 1: How might that have to her question Melanie's question, how
- 6:03Speaker 1: might that have lessened the overall trauma in the family.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I think it might have maybe, yeah, because I think
- 6:09Speaker 1: maybe it would have mobilized Janelle and Christine and even
- 6:12Speaker 1: Mary to do something differently a lot sooner. Yeah, if
- 6:16Speaker 1: they felt that they weren't going it alone, which I
- 6:18Speaker 1: think they probably. I don't think Janelle and Christine became
- 6:21Speaker 1: a thing until like the last couple of seasons. Previous
- 6:24Speaker 1: to that, I think they were islands unto themselves. And
- 6:27Speaker 1: so what how different would it have been if Mary
- 6:29Speaker 1: took the initiative, because she knew full fucking well by
- 6:32Speaker 1: the time she's got a banana in her mouth, sitting
- 6:35Speaker 1: in that tub, she knows full fucking well.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Yeah that.
- 6:38Speaker 1: So I'm swearing that Cody is not betting her, That
- 6:42Speaker 1: Cody is not spending any time in her big ass
- 6:45Speaker 1: home in the cul de Sac. She knows full well
- 6:48Speaker 1: that he's favoring Robin, and she's not doing anything about it.
- 6:51Speaker 1: And to this day, Beatrice twenty twenty four, she's still
- 6:55Speaker 1: sweeping for Cody, she's still caping for Cody and Robin.
- 6:59Speaker 1: She's still going on these banal, dumb ass podcasts, and
- 7:02Speaker 1: she's not giving any information. She's not indicting these absolute
- 7:06Speaker 1: thieves and awful people who stole her land, any true
- 7:10Speaker 1: stole her land. She's not indicting any of them are
- 7:13Speaker 1: speaking out against them. So she's still not doing the
- 7:15Speaker 1: right thing. So I don't know a world where Mary
- 7:18Speaker 1: did the right thing and those other two women did
- 7:20Speaker 1: the right thing. So many different things could have happened
- 7:22Speaker 1: with mildrogen, with the homes, with the money, but Mary
- 7:27Speaker 1: never did first and foremost, because I agree she's dumb. Yep,
- 7:30Speaker 1: she's trying to sniff like a raccoon to find the
- 7:33Speaker 1: winds of power. She thought Cody and Robin had the power.
- 7:36Speaker 1: She made the wrong choice, and now here we are
- 7:39Speaker 1: alone in a haunted B and B in Parwan, Utah.
- 7:43Speaker 3: And like, all I would want is for Mary to
- 7:45Speaker 3: tell the truth and just be like, you know, I
- 7:47Speaker 3: was duped, Like Robin totally manipulated me. I thought we
- 7:50Speaker 3: were friends, and she totally fucking hated my guts probably
- 7:54Speaker 3: and stole my man, stole my man from everybody else.
- 7:57Speaker 3: So like it'd be nice if Mary could have some
- 8:00Speaker 3: self awareness. But again, she's dumb.
- 8:03Speaker 1: So well, she's dumb, But I think she knows. I
- 8:06Speaker 1: think she has an understanding of like what really happened.
- 8:09Speaker 1: You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand
- 8:11Speaker 1: that she was completely duped, especially by Robin who feigned
- 8:15Speaker 1: to be her friend and never really wanted to spend
- 8:18Speaker 1: time with her. And I think she addressed that in
- 8:20Speaker 1: the most recent interview, maybe it was with Pink Shade,
- 8:22Speaker 1: I don't necessarily know where. She acknowledges that Robin most
- 8:26Speaker 1: definitely was vocal in her support and allyeship with Mary,
- 8:31Speaker 1: but like, behind the scenes, that's not really what was happening.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Like she vaguely acknowledged that. So she's not dumb in
- 8:37Speaker 1: that way. She knows that Robin wasn't there for her,
- 8:40Speaker 1: despite what Robin told everybody else. But nonetheless she's still
- 8:44Speaker 1: sweeping for them. Yeah, sweeping shit right under that rug.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Which is really annoying. But that's why you're alone. Yeah,
- 8:51Speaker 3: and like Christina Janelle want nothing to do.
- 8:53Speaker 1: With you, get some actual therapy.
- 8:55Speaker 3: I mean, most of the family doesn't want anything to
- 8:57Speaker 3: do with you too because of all of this shit.
- 8:59Speaker 1: So stop purporting to be some kind of mentor who
- 9:02Speaker 1: has all of your shit together and trying to heal
- 9:05Speaker 1: other people in their life's journey when you're still in
- 9:08Speaker 1: this fucked up, weird traumatic denial and haven't dealt with
- 9:12Speaker 1: your own shit.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Mary Well, and speaking of she's got more worthy of
- 9:16Speaker 3: retreats coming up.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I know I heard about that.
- 9:18Speaker 3: I saw that on the Facebook, and I'm like, girl.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I mean I think we've got tickets to evening events
- 9:24Speaker 1: or something that are selling for anywhere from one hundred
- 9:27Speaker 1: and fifty to two hundred and eighty or three hundred dollars.
- 9:29Speaker 1: That is, to be able to sit down with Mary hey, honey,
- 9:32Speaker 1: if she can get her coins. I personally don't begrudy.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Taking advantage of people.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Well, if people want to sit down with their favorite
- 9:39Speaker 1: person on reality TV, like, I would pay it. I'm
- 9:41Speaker 1: gonna be honest. Not because I'm sitting here to learn
- 9:44Speaker 1: something from Mary, because I'm Olivia in this situation and
- 9:48Speaker 1: she's Mariah and definitely the intellectual superior. But I would
- 9:52Speaker 1: want to hang out with Mary a little bit and
- 9:55Speaker 1: see what she is like in person. That's what a
- 9:58Speaker 1: lot of these people. They're not going there for us
- 10:00Speaker 1: actual mentorship. They're going there for the Disney photos. They're
- 10:03Speaker 1: going there to say I hung out with Mary Brown,
- 10:06Speaker 1: I guess.
- 10:07Speaker 3: But how fun would it be if she's so inauthentic though,
- 10:10Speaker 3: and she's just hashtag worthy?
- 10:12Speaker 1: Up? Are you telling me you wouldn't go?
- 10:14Speaker 3: I mean you would. I wouldn't pay three hundred dollars
- 10:17Speaker 3: to go, You wouldn't know? Not with Mary Brown? Now
- 10:19Speaker 3: with her talking about hashtag worthy up and go to Disneyland. No, okay,
- 10:24Speaker 3: I would, Well that makes you trashier than me.
- 10:27Speaker 1: That's the difference between you and I. But Melanie, thank
- 10:30Speaker 1: you for getting acas tangent. We love talking about some
- 10:33Speaker 1: Mary Brown hashtag worthy of thank you, thank you.
- 10:36Speaker 3: You're national raccoons. We have so many of them.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Please everybody, it's so coolpipe dot com slash reality TV cringe.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Call us, let us know who you are, what you
- 10:44Speaker 1: thank you, and we'll probably play it on the pod.
- 10:48Speaker 1: All right, let's get into this episode of Sister Wives
- 10:50Speaker 1: season five, episode four.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Yeah, entitled Polygamist Cults. Okay, so we have Logan Madison
- 11:00Speaker 3: and ass been going up to Utah to volunteer with
- 11:03Speaker 3: an organization called Holding Out Help or Holding for Help
- 11:06Speaker 3: or something, and it's an organization that helps polygamists and
- 11:10Speaker 3: Mormons coming in and out of like these polygamist cults
- 11:13Speaker 3: and communities. So they've got people coming from the FLDS,
- 11:17Speaker 3: which is Warren Jeff's community. It's a bad motherfucker. I
- 11:21Speaker 3: hope he Rodson Hill. And they've got other people from
- 11:24Speaker 3: like other communities Kingston's.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I was familiar with who the Kingstons were I.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Have no idea anything about them, but apparently they're bad too.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Probably fundamentalist in their own way. I mean Cody and
- 11:37Speaker 1: his family, they're fundamentalists. There's different, like I said last week,
- 11:41Speaker 1: different strains COVID nineteen of Mormonism. And we're talking to
- 11:45Speaker 1: people who are in the most culti the worst, despicable
- 11:50Speaker 1: of the worst child bride cult of them all.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'm glad that this organization exists because they
- 11:57Speaker 3: do actually help these people and give them places to
- 12:00Speaker 3: day and help them integrate into the real world because
- 12:03Speaker 3: a lot of them are fucking crazy. But yeah, so
- 12:07Speaker 3: it's kind of interesting. But the adults kind of give
- 12:09Speaker 3: the kids a pep talk beforehand before they go, trying
- 12:13Speaker 3: to be like, these people think bad of polygamy, so
- 12:16Speaker 3: therefore you got to advertise how good polygamy is, especially
- 12:19Speaker 3: on the cameras please stay.
- 12:21Speaker 1: And they're asking Aspen in particular, like are you going
- 12:24Speaker 1: to be able to represent how you really feel about
- 12:27Speaker 1: polygamy or you know, are you going to be pushed
- 12:31Speaker 1: around by these people who don't believe in it and
- 12:33Speaker 1: think it's pure abuse? And Aspen's like, no, I can
- 12:35Speaker 1: definitely talk about my experience and represent our family. And
- 12:41Speaker 1: Janelle seems a little dubious and worried, but it's Christine,
- 12:44Speaker 1: I think, who is the most worried. And she calls
- 12:46Speaker 1: out the director of Holding Out for Help, Tanya. Yeah,
- 12:50Speaker 1: we meet in this episode, and she says something kind
- 12:53Speaker 1: of cryptic in the beginning. She's like, you know, I've
- 12:54Speaker 1: heard about this woman, but I've never met her. But
- 12:58Speaker 1: I just don't know if I trust her. And essentially
- 13:01Speaker 1: Christine is worried about sending her kids up there because
- 13:05Speaker 1: it is Tanya gonna try and take them away. We
- 13:07Speaker 1: don't know. That's why Christine seems really irrational and weird,
- 13:11Speaker 1: and it felt like a very programmed, brainwashy thing to
- 13:15Speaker 1: say about this woman who's trying to help these poor
- 13:17Speaker 1: kids get out of these very toxic and abusive homes.
- 13:20Speaker 1: I'm like, Christine, you are such an entrenched member of
- 13:24Speaker 1: the borgh like you are such a fucking bot yep.
- 13:29Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean I did not like her
- 13:31Speaker 1: in this episode, the way she talked about this charity.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Yeah, And I thought it was kind of stupid because
- 13:36Speaker 3: this whole episode, I'm watching it and I'm like, these
- 13:39Speaker 3: adults put the kids up to this, like they wanted
- 13:41Speaker 3: them to go and do this charity event for TV
- 13:45Speaker 3: and also to promote the fact that no, no, no,
- 13:48Speaker 3: the Browns are actually really good. No, we're actually a
- 13:51Speaker 3: really great polygamous family and we're healthy. And I mean
- 13:54Speaker 3: like at the time they were fine, like they were
- 13:57Speaker 3: I mean, guess, I guess functional, Like.
- 14:00Speaker 1: God's the real convert.
- 14:01Speaker 3: It's it's just so stupid.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Like You've got Maddie crying up in Utah outside of
- 14:09Speaker 1: the charity right the charitable house that they go up
- 14:11Speaker 1: there to paint and whatnot. She's crying because she's met
- 14:13Speaker 1: these abused kids and she's understanding like how terrible their
- 14:18Speaker 1: experience has been. But she truly believes in polygamy, like
- 14:21Speaker 1: all of these kids truly believe in polygamy. And this
- 14:24Speaker 1: is twenty twelve, and I'm wondering to myself self, how
- 14:28Speaker 1: does Maddie feel about that? In twenty twenty four, how
- 14:32Speaker 1: does Logan feel about that? You know, Aspen, who is
- 14:35Speaker 1: actually considering polygamy at this moment in time, went on
- 14:39Speaker 1: to marry that Scottish lumberjack guy, and she's monogamous, like
- 14:43Speaker 1: none of the kids ended up being polygamous, and we've
- 14:46Speaker 1: got this song and dance again from Cody and the
- 14:49Speaker 1: wives trying to compare and contrast like real polygamy, as
- 14:53Speaker 1: if their polygamy is the purest form of what polygamy
- 14:56Speaker 1: ought to be, when I don't actually think that the
- 14:59Speaker 1: rest to Mormonism would say that they're representative of polygamy
- 15:03Speaker 1: and or Mormonism right. So I'm like, and at the
- 15:07Speaker 1: end of the day, it was toxic because it was bad.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I do't I'm not saying that there was sexual or
- 15:11Speaker 1: physical abuse of any kind that we see with these
- 15:14Speaker 1: kids that we meet in this episode, but there was
- 15:17Speaker 1: emotional abuse. There was for abuse. In the last few years,
- 15:21Speaker 1: we've got roided out to Stostor owned Cody Brown being
- 15:25Speaker 1: unfucking hinged yep, being cruel to his own children. So
- 15:29Speaker 1: I'm like, so is this polygamy right?
- 15:32Speaker 3: And it just to me, it just felt like it
- 15:34Speaker 3: was more for the parents, Like it wasn't for the
- 15:36Speaker 3: kids to like have this experience, like it was just
- 15:39Speaker 3: for TV and just for Cody's image to make everybody
- 15:43Speaker 3: think like, no, he's actually a good guy, He's a
- 15:45Speaker 3: good dad. Because at the end of the episode. That's
- 15:47Speaker 3: kind of like the moral of it, right, all of
- 15:49Speaker 3: these polygamist kids come down to visit and they're like, oh, yeah,
- 15:53Speaker 3: we think you're cool, Coddy.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Well not Colleen. Well, Colleen with the eyeliner.
- 15:58Speaker 3: She did say, she's like, you're a good dad at.
- 16:00Speaker 1: The end, but I mean, very begrudgingly. She's side eyeing
- 16:03Speaker 1: all of these people the entire time. Yeah, and she
- 16:06Speaker 1: has every right to.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Well.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Really bugs me about this entire premise is that Cody
- 16:12Speaker 1: and Christine and Janelle and Mary are acting like it's
- 16:15Speaker 1: so far be it from us. I know, like that
- 16:18Speaker 1: is so unacceptable. It is not a part of our
- 16:21Speaker 1: reality or our culture. Like, bitch, miss me with that, Christine, Yes,
- 16:24Speaker 1: it absolutely is. This shit is going on in AUB.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I dare say allegedly, I don't know. This shit is
- 16:30Speaker 1: going on through various fundamentalists Mormon strains, and this is
- 16:35Speaker 1: happening across the board. So don't act like you've never
- 16:37Speaker 1: seen it. Don't act like you haven't heard about it. Christine,
- 16:40Speaker 1: you are a princess in the aub You've seen this
- 16:43Speaker 1: shit before. And at the end when she's like, I
- 16:45Speaker 1: didn't know that men could be such boster. Honey, you
- 16:49Speaker 1: grew up in this culture. I'm not believing one bit
- 16:52Speaker 1: of this.
- 16:52Speaker 3: I know. I thought that was so weird and like
- 16:55Speaker 3: you're like fake crying like miss me with that. Yes,
- 16:59Speaker 3: even rob and though too is like making it all
- 17:01Speaker 3: about herself.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Of course, as soon as she can, she's thinking about herself.
- 17:04Speaker 3: It's so gross, and I kind of felt bad for
- 17:08Speaker 3: these kids. So they're at this house, they're painting for
- 17:11Speaker 3: charity whatever, and then they sit down and like actually
- 17:14Speaker 3: talk to the kids and talk to the directors and stuff,
- 17:17Speaker 3: and so we get to kind of get to know them.
- 17:19Speaker 3: So Colleen the one with the weird hair, right, do
- 17:22Speaker 3: we see her hair and that dogging hit the big
- 17:24Speaker 3: old Yeah.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I mean, girl, she's rock gonna look honey.
- 17:27Speaker 3: God bless Yeah. She's like the most bitter towards polygamy.
- 17:31Speaker 3: I mean, I guess her dad was like a piece
- 17:33Speaker 3: of shit. He was abusive. She wanted to leave at fifteen,
- 17:37Speaker 3: but then ultimately ended up leaving at seventeen. She was
- 17:40Speaker 3: called a devil child.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Her first memory of her father is him beating the
- 17:44Speaker 1: shit out of her.
- 17:45Speaker 3: Yep, her father was treated like a king and.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Had his glass swear in his own plates. Everybody else
- 17:52Speaker 1: got plastic. And so it sounds like the polygamist dads
- 17:56Speaker 1: are the visiting kings. When they deign to come to
- 17:59Speaker 1: one wife's home to visit that wife and their children,
- 18:02Speaker 1: it's like he's royalty and all of the kids are
- 18:05Speaker 1: just there to serve him, like, oh, fucked up, my god.
- 18:09Speaker 3: And then we have Nicole who had twenty seven moms,
- 18:12Speaker 3: and how all of the mom sucked like they weren't
- 18:15Speaker 3: around to take care of any of the kids because
- 18:17Speaker 3: all of them were competing for attention from her biological dad.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Not even one mother out of twenty seven could show
- 18:24Speaker 1: up for her.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Yikes.
- 18:26Speaker 1: And so when she's sixteen, her father, that piece of
- 18:28Speaker 1: shit yep, I hate all these men all getting rage.
- 18:32Speaker 1: That piece of shit sits her down and says, you're sixteen,
- 18:34Speaker 1: it's time for you to get married. And so she
- 18:36Speaker 1: already had a boy in mind. The father didn't approve,
- 18:40Speaker 1: and so she ended up running off and marrying this
- 18:43Speaker 1: other kid and they have a child and crazy, and
- 18:48Speaker 1: that's how she got out. So she lived in her
- 18:50Speaker 1: car though for like thirty days.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Yeah, just to survive and get out of that cult.
- 18:55Speaker 3: And I can't remember Suzanne. Suzanne, okay, thank you. I
- 18:58Speaker 3: was like, I forgot it.
- 18:59Speaker 1: I thought she was all sad, but like she seemed
- 19:02Speaker 1: the most the most maybe damaged to me.
- 19:05Speaker 3: I mean because she came from the Warren Jeff's cult yep.
- 19:08Speaker 3: So and she had a dad who I guess left
- 19:11Speaker 3: the cult.
- 19:12Speaker 1: I was trying to figure that out because she said,
- 19:15Speaker 1: one day her father came to the family and said,
- 19:18Speaker 1: I'm a bad man and I have to leave immediately.
- 19:22Speaker 1: And basically you're going to be assigned to another father
- 19:25Speaker 1: who was Warren Jeff's yep. Warren Jeff's, however, was taken away,
- 19:29Speaker 1: and so it was some other dude who was now
- 19:31Speaker 1: responsible for this wife and all their children. And she
- 19:35Speaker 1: never saw her father again, has no idea where he is,
- 19:39Speaker 1: and I'm wondering why he was sent away. But I
- 19:42Speaker 1: think that happened with Warren Jeff's, Like there were what
- 19:46Speaker 1: they called him the seed something. There was like a
- 19:48Speaker 1: set group of men, like thirty men, twenty seven men
- 19:53Speaker 1: who were able to fuck all the women, yes, and
- 19:55Speaker 1: if you were not one of those men, you could
- 19:57Speaker 1: not fuck any of the women. And many of those
- 19:59Speaker 1: men were castaway, sent away, and a lot of the
- 20:01Speaker 1: boys were as well, because they were essentially competition.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Yeah, and they were all pieces of shit too, Like
- 20:09Speaker 3: they were all horrible, horrible people. So yeah, I felt
- 20:13Speaker 3: really bad for Suzanne and then the guy Stephen.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Stephen I did strike you like their general affect, the
- 20:20Speaker 1: way they acted, didn't They kind of strike you as
- 20:23Speaker 1: a little bit amishy?
- 20:24Speaker 3: Oh yeah, totally.
- 20:25Speaker 1: The Amish come out for their is it called rum Springer, Yeah,
- 20:28Speaker 1: and they integrate with the English like they're just painfully
- 20:33Speaker 1: dumb because none of them have had any education. And
- 20:36Speaker 1: I'm not trying to be pejorative, honestly, that's what it is.
- 20:38Speaker 1: No exposure to the world, no actual education, no worldly experience.
- 20:43Speaker 1: And I mean Stephen's twenty years old here. Yeah, he
- 20:47Speaker 1: was kicked out of the cult because he came home
- 20:49Speaker 1: at two am and his dad is like, you gotta go.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Well, my general thought was that he's gay or something,
- 20:54Speaker 3: because he said he did something that they didn't approve of.
- 20:58Speaker 3: So I'm like, were you out, like, were you out
- 21:01Speaker 3: fucking like, what were you doing? I'd love to know.
- 21:04Speaker 3: But I felt bad for him too, sure, because he
- 21:06Speaker 3: just got fucking ostracized. He's like, bye, you're out of
- 21:08Speaker 3: the cult now, which is honestly good for him, right,
- 21:12Speaker 3: because you get out of that.
- 21:13Speaker 1: But I mean, these are the lost boys of Mormonism. Yeah,
- 21:16Speaker 1: the boys who become competition for the older men who
- 21:19Speaker 1: are from forties to eighties marrying these thirteen year old girls,
- 21:22Speaker 1: all of them. I can't say this, so I'm not
- 21:25Speaker 1: going to, but like it's just terrible, Like how do
- 21:28Speaker 1: you get to the place as a father where you're
- 21:31Speaker 1: willing to sell your child, not sell them, just give
- 21:35Speaker 1: them to Warren Jeff's to give them to some fifty
- 21:39Speaker 1: year old man, Like how does that not like trigger
- 21:43Speaker 1: some sort of a conscious reaction where you're like, wait
- 21:45Speaker 1: a minute, these are my children. I need to take
- 21:48Speaker 1: care of them.
- 21:48Speaker 3: While they're doing it too, they're also screwing these thirteen
- 21:52Speaker 3: year old kids like they're pieces of shit, all of them.
- 21:54Speaker 3: They're dam its, rotten hell. That's how I'm kal rutten
- 21:59Speaker 3: heel for real, they were. I just felt bad for
- 22:03Speaker 3: all these polygamists escapies, yes, because they're talking to the
- 22:07Speaker 3: brown kids, and the brown kids are doing their best
- 22:10Speaker 3: to do their parents' job, which is defend polygamy and
- 22:13Speaker 3: defend their lifestyle. No, no, no, it's actually really great,
- 22:16Speaker 3: like we grew up really healthy, Like I love my childhood,
- 22:19Speaker 3: I love my parents and blah blah blah. And all
- 22:23Speaker 3: these kids are like, okay, sure, Jan, especially Colleen. Colleen's like, mmm,
- 22:28Speaker 3: I think y'all are brainwashed, right, I think y'all are dumb.
- 22:30Speaker 1: When they're painting, somebody asks Colleen like, well, why wouldn't
- 22:35Speaker 1: you choose polygamy for yourself now? And she could have
- 22:39Speaker 1: said something kind in front of the Browns who may
- 22:42Speaker 1: be choosing some polygamy in the kids, maybe making that choice,
- 22:45Speaker 1: But in the stead she says, because I'm not stupid.
- 22:48Speaker 1: So she's aggressive, like she's been traumatized. She's looked her
- 22:51Speaker 1: up on the internet. Yeah, she has an ig oh
- 22:55Speaker 1: really she is a former stripper ooh, and she is
- 23:00Speaker 1: a current Yoghini. She like has crystal bowls, and she's
- 23:04Speaker 1: into like spirituality, metaphysical trendy spirituality if you will. But
- 23:11Speaker 1: she's still kind of odd. I think she at some point,
- 23:14Speaker 1: the rumor is that she was kind of diagnosed bipolar,
- 23:18Speaker 1: which and she's got like many many traumatic responses. And
- 23:22Speaker 1: this is when I was looking all this up pardon me,
- 23:24Speaker 1: I'm going on attire, and I was wanting to find
- 23:25Speaker 1: out This is where I found out that she was
- 23:28Speaker 1: on that show that I brought up last week because
- 23:30Speaker 1: I was wondering if this was sort of an inter yeah,
- 23:33Speaker 1: crossover between two shows. And I think the show was
- 23:35Speaker 1: called Escaping Polygamy, and she was in that show with
- 23:39Speaker 1: her cousin and ultimately got removed from the show for
- 23:45Speaker 1: pretending to save somebody that they never saved, and ultimately
- 23:50Speaker 1: the show got canceled. But like, she's a bit of
- 23:53Speaker 1: a wild child, and you're going to have children and
- 23:57Speaker 1: people who end up with mental health issue shoes and
- 24:00Speaker 1: personality disorders like c PTSD and otherwise when they grow
- 24:05Speaker 1: up in this kind of trauma. This is the consequence
- 24:09Speaker 1: of abusing all of these children. They're just going to
- 24:12Speaker 1: be fucked up. They're gonna be fucked up for a while, yep,
- 24:15Speaker 1: until they get some help, yep. And I felt bad
- 24:18Speaker 1: for them because I think it was Tanya, the director
- 24:21Speaker 1: of the whole charity, like she was expressing to the
- 24:24Speaker 1: cameras like I'm worried that the kids and like therefore
- 24:27Speaker 1: the Browns are not going to be like sensitive to
- 24:30Speaker 1: the fact that all of these kids were abused and
- 24:32Speaker 1: like grew up in these really toxic, horrible environments, and
- 24:36Speaker 1: they're just going to be like, oh yeah, plague me
- 24:38Speaker 1: so great. And they're kind of they kind of are
- 24:40Speaker 1: like the Browns are kind of doing that. The kids
- 24:42Speaker 1: are kind of doing that. Although Maddie, like you had
- 24:44Speaker 1: said earlier, is crying over hearing the stories from these kids,
- 24:49Speaker 1: and I just like, I don't know, I feel bad
- 24:50Speaker 1: for them. Colleen is a bit harsh and a bit crazy.
- 24:53Speaker 1: I think she's awesome. She's a truth teller, traumatized, she's
- 24:56Speaker 1: not backing down, and it's great when she's sitting in
- 24:58Speaker 1: a room later with with Code Brown, who's the patriarch, Like, yeah,
- 25:01Speaker 1: her problem is with the patriarch. Ye, she is probably
- 25:04Speaker 1: currently hexting the patriarchy totally. Her problem is with the
- 25:07Speaker 1: men in these cults. And so she actually sits down.
- 25:10Speaker 1: She's not scared. She said, wee bit deferential and respectful,
- 25:14Speaker 1: which is fine, but like she doesn't like not speak
- 25:17Speaker 1: or share her peace. So I had a lot of
- 25:19Speaker 1: respect for her me too.
- 25:20Speaker 3: I thought, like she's so young and she's like not
- 25:23Speaker 3: afraid to be like, no, this is bad. I think
- 25:25Speaker 3: this is a terrible lifestyle. I think it's all about
- 25:27Speaker 3: control and I think it's terrible. I liked it.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I did too. And when Aspin is talking about how
- 25:32Speaker 1: she's considering polygamy for herself, Colleen says to the camera like, oh,
- 25:37Speaker 1: poor brainwashed Aspen Brown. I know, which is mean but
- 25:43Speaker 1: also true.
- 25:43Speaker 3: She's not wrong.
- 25:44Speaker 1: She's calling it out and you gotta respect that.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Yep. Because as much as the Browns want to say
- 25:49Speaker 3: that like we give her children the freedom and like
- 25:51Speaker 3: we don't brainwash them at all, I'm like, you kind
- 25:53Speaker 3: of are, though, because all of the kids think that
- 25:55Speaker 3: your current system is good and obviously we see now
- 25:59Speaker 3: it wasn't. It was never good.
- 26:01Speaker 1: It was a lot. I mean, if we believe Cody Brown,
- 26:03Speaker 1: he never loved these women. He was just what using
- 26:05Speaker 1: these women as breeding vehicles sort of monetary vehicles, Like, yeah,
- 26:11Speaker 1: it's really sad. There was another story that they were
- 26:13Speaker 1: talking about when they were at the help house. I
- 26:17Speaker 1: think it was with Nicole and she was asked by
- 26:21Speaker 1: Maddie directly like, well, did you know any thirteen year
- 26:24Speaker 1: old girls who were married to like forty year old
- 26:27Speaker 1: guys and Nicole's like, yep, absolutely, And she said she
- 26:31Speaker 1: grew up with five other girls, all of which suffered physical, emotional,
- 26:37Speaker 1: and sexual abuse, one or all of those, and it
- 26:40Speaker 1: was usually all of those. And then we've got these
- 26:41Speaker 1: pictures of her as a little girl, and I'm just
- 26:44Speaker 1: presuming that it happened to her as well. And I'm
- 26:47Speaker 1: just like these fucking men and those adult women too,
- 26:50Speaker 1: because at some point you become I know you're a
- 26:53Speaker 1: cog in the wheel. I know you grew up in
- 26:55Speaker 1: this shit. I know that you're brainwashed and part of
- 26:57Speaker 1: the boorg, but at some point you become an enabler
- 26:59Speaker 1: and an abuser, a cot abuser yourself.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and you become complicit to all of it.
- 27:04Speaker 3: And even like Christine when she's kind of talking about
- 27:08Speaker 3: how she feels bad for these kids a little bit
- 27:10Speaker 3: for what they went through, she's like, I think she
- 27:12Speaker 3: says it to Tanya or Colleen or something, where she's like, yeah, like,
- 27:16Speaker 3: growing up, we were told not to go to psychologists
- 27:19Speaker 3: because they would blame polygamy. But then you're sitting there
- 27:22Speaker 3: promoting how good polygamy is. So you're okay with this
- 27:27Speaker 3: lifestyle and this culture that tells you not to go
- 27:30Speaker 3: get help and not to go seek therapy or any
- 27:33Speaker 3: kind of psychological care because they're gonna blame polygamy, which
- 27:36Speaker 3: is like the obvious cause of all of your problems.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Like it's so warm, it makes sense. We'll remember when
- 27:42Speaker 1: michelthe fell off the horse in season I don't remember, Like,
- 27:45Speaker 1: they don't take her to the er. They take her
- 27:48Speaker 1: to some polygamist chiropractor because they're afraid of getting medical
- 27:51Speaker 1: intervention because they're going to peep what they're doing and
- 27:55Speaker 1: they might take some action. This is the scene when
- 27:58Speaker 1: all the kids are in Vegas and they're having dinner
- 28:00Speaker 1: and Christine is talking to Tanya, the director of this charity,
- 28:04Speaker 1: and telling her why she doesn't trust her or why
- 28:07Speaker 1: she didn't And it was because like with social workers,
- 28:09Speaker 1: you know, I'm afraid you're going to want to take
- 28:12Speaker 1: my children away from me. You're going to see how
- 28:14Speaker 1: we live and you're going to want to take action
- 28:16Speaker 1: against me. And I was just brought up in such
- 28:18Speaker 1: a way like we never talked to people like you
- 28:20Speaker 1: because you were a threat to our family structure. And
- 28:23Speaker 1: Tanya's like you thought I was gonna come here and
- 28:25Speaker 1: try to take your kids away, like absolutely not. Tanya
- 28:27Speaker 1: also says, and it's interesting because she says that her
- 28:30Speaker 1: charity actually helps people get out of the cult and
- 28:33Speaker 1: get in yeah, or go back in.
- 28:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:36Speaker 1: She did not elaborate, and then wondering what she's talking about.
- 28:40Speaker 3: It's probably to like get like younger siblings or like
- 28:44Speaker 3: you know, probably get other people out of it, or
- 28:47Speaker 3: like try to go back because of safety. I don't know,
- 28:51Speaker 3: it's probably something we.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Kind of sounded like it was. Is this like a
- 28:54Speaker 1: codification or like a reunification with your former family, like
- 28:58Speaker 1: brokering that I mean, And I just don't imagine that
- 29:01Speaker 1: she would want.
- 29:01Speaker 3: To do that. I don't know.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Tanya is an interesting person. It's clear that within the
- 29:06Speaker 1: Mormon culty circles, they talk about her, they know about her,
- 29:10Speaker 1: and they are trying.
- 29:10Speaker 3: To avoid her, which is really crazy because she's just
- 29:13Speaker 3: helping these people. Yeah. I actually really liked Tanya. I
- 29:16Speaker 3: like how she was very like open and very kind
- 29:19Speaker 3: to the Browns and she wasn't judging them in any
- 29:21Speaker 3: particular way.
- 29:22Speaker 1: She was concerned that the Browns would not believe that
- 29:24Speaker 1: these kids suffered abuse, right, but the Browns believed them
- 29:28Speaker 1: they did, like all the kids tell their story and
- 29:32Speaker 1: the Browns believe them. Robin cries, of course, I mean, but.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Then Robin immediately makes it about herself though, like that
- 29:39Speaker 3: was wild, like being like someone who suffered abuse and
- 29:43Speaker 3: came from an abusive marriage.
- 29:45Speaker 2: I know, we have to believe them.
- 29:48Speaker 3: I'm like, stop, wasn't that like, I don't know. She's
- 29:51Speaker 3: saying that nobody believed her with the abuse class and.
- 29:54Speaker 1: The implication is that people just treated her situation with
- 29:59Speaker 1: her has been like business as usual, and she was
- 30:03Speaker 1: being abused the entire time. And I think the point
- 30:06Speaker 1: she was trying to make made sense, which is like
- 30:09Speaker 1: we're being given this information, We're being told that this
- 30:12Speaker 1: is happening in our various communities. It is incumbent upon
- 30:16Speaker 1: us to believe them. She didn't need to do so
- 30:18Speaker 1: in the context of her own self and her own story,
- 30:21Speaker 1: but she doesn't know how to stop herself as it
- 30:24Speaker 1: concerns that. No, but her point was salient.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Yeah, but then she also says she wants to hear
- 30:29Speaker 3: the kids say something positive about polygamy. Though also it's
- 30:32Speaker 3: like you're going back to you are trying to convince
- 30:36Speaker 3: these people ergo all of the audience and everybody else
- 30:40Speaker 3: that no, polygamy is great. Mm hmm, there's nothing wrong
- 30:43Speaker 3: about it. Will we do it like how we're doing
- 30:46Speaker 3: it right? But then we find out later that it's
- 30:49Speaker 3: been horrible, a.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Bunch of bullshit, and you're all just lying in polygamy
- 30:53Speaker 1: is bad. And even Joe Darger's version of polygamy seems
- 30:56Speaker 1: fucking scary to me. Sorry, I'm still swearing. Seems scary
- 30:59Speaker 1: to me to seems.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Scary because he's the authoritarian. So it's like it's say patriarchy,
- 31:04Speaker 3: I mean all about control.
- 31:05Speaker 1: We don't get political, but it's like it's just a
- 31:08Speaker 1: man's world over there.
- 31:09Speaker 3: Yep, one hundred percent. And then like after they went
- 31:14Speaker 3: to Mount Charleston, they had the camping trip that was
- 31:16Speaker 3: where Colleen talked to Cody about stuff, and then they
- 31:19Speaker 3: have dinner. Then they kind of all separate, so like
- 31:21Speaker 3: the kids what so.
- 31:23Speaker 1: At Mount Charleston though, I know, But at Mount Charleston, though,
- 31:28Speaker 1: Cody's trying to convince Colleen that his priority is his
- 31:32Speaker 1: children and him being a family man and him being
- 31:35Speaker 1: present for each and every one of his children, contrasting
- 31:39Speaker 1: himself with these motherfuckers that are in these various cults
- 31:41Speaker 1: who don't give a shit about these kids and in
- 31:43Speaker 1: fact abuse them. But it's just rich to me that like,
- 31:47Speaker 1: in just a few years time, you're not calling your
- 31:49Speaker 1: children on their birthdays. You're calling them narcissis and stupid,
- 31:54Speaker 1: stupid and assholes, all sorts of things, Like you're just
- 31:57Speaker 1: an absolute toxic father. Yep, And so wow have you changed?
- 32:02Speaker 1: And this just further makes me believe that this is
- 32:05Speaker 1: a performance. Maybe he believes himself to be this at
- 32:08Speaker 1: this time because these wives are still blowing smoke up
- 32:12Speaker 1: his ass. But like, was there ever a time when
- 32:15Speaker 1: he was a great father.
- 32:17Speaker 3: I don't know when they were in the Lehigh House,
- 32:19Speaker 3: maybe because he probably was more prison and I mean
- 32:22Speaker 3: there's all those videos that show like Cody trying to
- 32:24Speaker 3: be a good dat. It's just when Robin came to
- 32:26Speaker 3: the picture and then the family separated, that's when he
- 32:28Speaker 3: couldn't manage it because he's a weak ass.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Hope.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Well, and it wasn't a priority anymore. Yeah, So as
- 32:35Speaker 1: soon as Robin comes into the family, this great priority
- 32:38Speaker 1: that he has to be, this family man and there
- 32:39Speaker 1: for his kids, it goes out the window and he
- 32:41Speaker 1: doesn't really see his kids, because we see in a
- 32:43Speaker 1: preview Christine talking about how my own kids are saying
- 32:46Speaker 1: they never see you, Cody. So it's already happening twenty twelve.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Now.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Another thing that happened over on Mount Charleston is, for
- 32:53Speaker 1: some reason unknown to me, is Maddie and Aspen come
- 32:56Speaker 1: out in these Warren Jeff's FLDS dress it. I don't
- 33:01Speaker 1: know why, because Suzanne's mother made them, sewn them, sowed them,
- 33:06Speaker 1: and it was also super dumb and very performative. And
- 33:12Speaker 1: Janelle says on the couch like that these dresses are
- 33:14Speaker 1: a symbol of their lack of agency and this is
- 33:18Speaker 1: a symbol of oppression.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Yep, and she cries ugly, They're horrible.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Why do they Why do you think can we ask
- 33:26Speaker 1: ourselves like, if you want to prop up the women
- 33:29Speaker 1: in your cult to be your sexual playthings and be
- 33:33Speaker 1: there for your every desire and to keep sweet at
- 33:36Speaker 1: all this, like why do we have them dress in
- 33:38Speaker 1: the most matronly unattractive way possible?
- 33:43Speaker 3: Mm?
- 33:44Speaker 1: I don't know if that's so judgmental, I apologize.
- 33:46Speaker 3: No, And I just thought it was fucking weird that
- 33:49Speaker 3: they even dressed in these dresses because this is from
- 33:52Speaker 3: a cult that's fucking abusive and it was run by
- 33:56Speaker 3: a pedophile and it was really fucking awful and horrible, Like,
- 34:00Speaker 3: so why are we dressing around in this and like
- 34:03Speaker 3: making around in it?
- 34:05Speaker 1: Made no sense to me, it was daughter except for
- 34:08Speaker 1: like the shock value of it, I guess, and like
- 34:11Speaker 1: Suzanne kind of telling her story, but I'm just like,
- 34:13Speaker 1: is that triggering for her?
- 34:15Speaker 3: Like are we talking about that? Like? I don't know.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I feel like it would be triggering for all of
- 34:18Speaker 1: those kids who escaped the cult, and also disturbing for
- 34:21Speaker 1: the parents who understand what's happening in these cults and
- 34:25Speaker 1: children in these clothes. I don't get it.
- 34:28Speaker 3: I don't know, very fucking performing whatever. But then like
- 34:31Speaker 3: after Mount Charleston and the Dinners and everything, then we
- 34:34Speaker 3: have the kids going to get frozen yogurt and then
- 34:36Speaker 3: the adults kind of talking to themselves and the kids
- 34:40Speaker 3: getting frozen yogurt. Why don't they always go to frozen yogurt?
- 34:42Speaker 3: I don't know, they have this a lot, but whatever,
- 34:45Speaker 3: the brown kids are still like trying to talk to
- 34:49Speaker 3: the traumatized ex polygamous cult kids like yeah, No, polygamy
- 34:53Speaker 3: is great. Don't you want to live it? Wouldn't you
- 34:55Speaker 3: want to live it? And of course all of these
- 34:57Speaker 3: ex cultists are like, no, never.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Absolutely not, but they do say, but if somebody is
- 35:04Speaker 1: going to be polygamist or in a polygamist family, like
- 35:08Speaker 1: they should do it like you, like you guys are
- 35:09Speaker 1: doing polygamy right, Like it just seemed like the bow
- 35:12Speaker 1: on top of the fucking present or the cherry on
- 35:16Speaker 1: top of the Sunday, like the thing that they had
- 35:17Speaker 1: to say to conclude the episode. I don't think any
- 35:20Speaker 1: of those kids actually believe that there's any good light
- 35:24Speaker 1: for polygamy, not any good way to interpret polygamy.
- 35:27Speaker 2: No.
- 35:27Speaker 3: I think the TLC producers were like, can you just
- 35:29Speaker 3: say this for TV? Please? Thank you, we appreciate it.
- 35:33Speaker 3: And Christine talking to Tanya about things about how she
- 35:36Speaker 3: didn't trust her, but now she's like, oh, I see
- 35:39Speaker 3: what you're doing is good. And then this is where
- 35:40Speaker 3: Christine's on the fucking couch, fake crying.
- 35:43Speaker 1: I didn't know, I didn't know best, Yes you did, yes,
- 35:48Speaker 1: yes you did your.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Own husband's pastor right, and what are you talking about?
- 35:52Speaker 1: In order for these types of things, these types of people,
- 35:55Speaker 1: these types of structures, these types of movements, to continue
- 35:59Speaker 1: and persist, it requires the silence and the complicit agreement
- 36:05Speaker 1: of people like Christine who put on their blinders. And
- 36:07Speaker 1: I do think Robin kind of called it out. Thank you, Robin.
- 36:10Speaker 1: She kind of called it out, like, no, these people
- 36:12Speaker 1: are telling us what's happening, and like we need to
- 36:13Speaker 1: listen to them. And here's Christine, like I had no
- 36:15Speaker 1: way do I don't believe you like what you are
- 36:17Speaker 1: complicit and if you refuse to look at it, if
- 36:21Speaker 1: you refuse to listen and on board this information and
- 36:24Speaker 1: then make some kind of a change or do something
- 36:26Speaker 1: about it in your culture, like shut up, I know,
- 36:29Speaker 1: just pretending everything. This is all the Browns do it.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Just pretend everything is so great. Look how fantastic our
- 36:35Speaker 1: family is.
- 36:36Speaker 3: And I never was.
- 36:38Speaker 1: It never was good, from the time of Mary and
- 36:40Speaker 1: Janelle trying to share a kitchen with Mary being an
- 36:43Speaker 1: abusive bully, it was never.
- 36:45Speaker 3: Good, never And sts was wild to me that she
- 36:49Speaker 3: even cries like that. It was so fucking vake. And
- 36:52Speaker 3: then of course at the end we have to conclude
- 36:54Speaker 3: with Nicole and Coline saying the obligatory statement that no,
- 36:58Speaker 3: we think Cody's a good dad and I think polygamy
- 37:00Speaker 3: very well. Yeah, but they don't believe that.
- 37:02Speaker 1: No.
- 37:03Speaker 3: I would love to hear what they think now when
- 37:05Speaker 3: they see the family has broken up and everything. That
- 37:08Speaker 3: would be so great if we could hear a statement
- 37:10Speaker 3: from them before you.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Get into the preview. May I make like a correction,
- 37:14Speaker 1: a subtle correction to something I said when I went
- 37:17Speaker 1: up to Colleen's Instagram and I said she was a
- 37:19Speaker 1: stripper of former stripper, like, there's nothing wrong with that. No,
- 37:22Speaker 1: I don't want to present that as if there's anything
- 37:25Speaker 1: wrong with that, because she's beautiful, by the way, gorgeous.
- 37:29Speaker 1: She's still gorgeous. She was wearing a lot of makeup,
- 37:32Speaker 1: she had a funky hair style, but she's gorgeous. She's
- 37:34Speaker 1: doing her thing out here. She's exploring her spirituality in
- 37:37Speaker 1: a way that is authentic to her wish I think
- 37:40Speaker 1: is great. You do you Yeah, fully support that? Just
- 37:43Speaker 1: want to say that, sure.
- 37:45Speaker 3: And if I implied anything bad about stripping, I don't
- 37:48Speaker 3: mean to. It's more like, you know, sometimes it cannot
- 37:52Speaker 3: be the best thing for people who like, yeah, like
- 37:56Speaker 3: people who've escaped abuse and trauma and stuff like it
- 38:00Speaker 3: kind of is sometimes like the route that they go
- 38:02Speaker 3: and then it can be really toxic for them. So
- 38:05Speaker 3: hopefully she's like better and yeah, living life.
- 38:07Speaker 1: I hope she's doing well.
- 38:09Speaker 3: Do whatever you want to do, girl, And then into
- 38:11Speaker 3: the preview, we have the wives and Cody going over
- 38:15Speaker 3: the options for their houses with Mona. Oh my god,
- 38:20Speaker 3: Mary fucking Brown is already over budget on.
- 38:24Speaker 1: The first page of her options. Apparently there are multiple pages.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Again I've never seen this, so yeah, first page of
- 38:29Speaker 1: her options, she's already over budget and she's complaining about it.
- 38:33Speaker 1: So remember I was asking you, Beatrice, like is she
- 38:37Speaker 1: adding all these things onto her house and does that
- 38:40Speaker 1: take away from the family pot? Probably? Or is it
- 38:43Speaker 1: just her money? So I think we'll learn more next week.
- 38:46Speaker 3: I hope so. Because she's bitching about French doors and
- 38:49Speaker 3: how she can't have a sliding door, I'm like, sorry, Mary,
- 38:52Speaker 3: who the fuck are you?
- 38:53Speaker 2: Uh?
- 38:54Speaker 3: And then Christine tells Cody that she thinks or that
- 38:57Speaker 3: the kids are saying that you're not around a lot
- 39:00Speaker 3: and we feel like we're failing as a family, and
- 39:02Speaker 3: Cody looks all saad.
- 39:03Speaker 1: Kind of he looks chagrined that she called it out
- 39:06Speaker 1: on camera. Yeah, that's what that looks like to me.
- 39:08Speaker 3: I love it. And then Cody and Mary go back
- 39:11Speaker 3: to Utah and Cody is crying about his kids.
- 39:14Speaker 1: I guess he's digging in the ground and talking about
- 39:17Speaker 1: where he came from. And I'm just like, here we go,
- 39:19Speaker 1: another performance.
- 39:20Speaker 3: All way, this family is pretty good at performing there. Yeah,
- 39:25Speaker 3: they do it a lot.
- 39:25Speaker 1: They're experts at it, all of them do.
- 39:28Speaker 3: So.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:28Speaker 3: Kind of an interesting episode. I kind of liked that
- 39:30Speaker 3: they brought in some ex polygamist yeah fundies. That was
- 39:33Speaker 3: very interesting.
- 39:34Speaker 1: It kind of seems like a theme for this season
- 39:37Speaker 1: along with the cul de sacs, like they really want
- 39:38Speaker 1: to get Joe Dharger on there. We really want to
- 39:41Speaker 1: have these various conversations about compare and contrast toxic polygamy
- 39:45Speaker 1: with pure holy polygamy, which I'm game four. Yeah, but
- 39:49Speaker 1: I don't believe any of it, So I just want
- 39:52Speaker 1: that on record, thank you very much.
- 39:54Speaker 3: Yep. And I'm kind of tired of it already, Like
- 39:56Speaker 3: Cody just trying to protect his image as like the
- 40:00Speaker 3: really good polyganous men. Look at me. I treat all
- 40:04Speaker 3: my women fairly but not really.
- 40:06Speaker 1: I am not tired of the cul de sac coins,
- 40:08Speaker 1: so dash it coming.
- 40:10Speaker 2: I love that I can't have it.
- 40:12Speaker 3: Wait for next week's episode. Girl.
- 40:16Speaker 1: All right, now, is there anything else that we need
- 40:18Speaker 1: to say to these beautiful raccoons?
- 40:21Speaker 3: Beat Well, if you love our podcast, I sure hope
- 40:25Speaker 3: you go to your favorite podcast platform and leave us
- 40:27Speaker 3: a glowing five star review. It really helps us grow
- 40:30Speaker 3: the pod and we really appreciate it. Thank you so much.
- 40:33Speaker 1: We will be back later this week to talk Welcome
- 40:36Speaker 1: to Platville and Unexpected, so make sure to come back
- 40:39Speaker 1: for that. But until then, please do not forget that
- 40:42Speaker 1: we have nothing
- 40:43Speaker 2: But love for you, and please oh bye bye guys,
