- 0:00SPEAKER_01: This is a great, big, beautiful tomorrow.
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: Shining at the end of every day.
- 0:08SPEAKER_02: This is a great, big, beautiful tomorrow.
- 0:12SPEAKER_02: Just a dream.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Hello, and welcome to Of Mice in Main Street Men.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: I am Tristan.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: And I am Sean.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: Oh, how are you?
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: I'm good.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: I said it with conviction.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: You did say it with conviction.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: I wanted people to know.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: We're like doing multiple episodes in a row.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: It's exciting.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: Don't ruin the magic.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: Wait, what ruins the magic doing doing several episodes in a row?
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: Or just speaking with conviction?
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: It's funny, like so many of these podcasts I listened to do this, like they just batch episodes, so they'll do two or three.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: And lately they have like uh the DVC show that I listen to has been starting to point it out, being like, Well, this is the third episode of this in a row.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: And if you notice, three of us have not changed our shirts, and one person has.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: See, see, that's why we don't show ourselves.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: They don't know.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: They don't know.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: They can guess if we've changed our shirts or not.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Um, so what we're talking about today um is uh, you know, a lot of people think that magic only exists inside the parks, but we're saying you need to tut, I say, just like Winnie the Pooh and um Christopher Robin, I guess.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: Tut tut, it looks like rain, but and and I will say I have been on the uh up until last summer.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: I was definitely a why would I take a rest day or spend a day not at the parks?
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: I don't understand, but I did do that.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: Stop and smell the mouse, sir.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: And I did stop and smell the mouse last summer.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: You have gotten really good at mouse smelling.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: I've really now like go on lobby sniffing tours.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: I do.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: I've gotten a master's in sniffing, and I feel like Wow.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: That's that's not something a lot of people have.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: I well, that's why it's exclusive.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: But um, you know, as I've been doing like just some thinking on it, but like the best days down there don't require a ticket or a rope drop or they don't.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: And so I don't know if I'd go so far as to say the best days.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: No, not the best days, but I think some of the more there are very surprisingly rewarding days.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: That is a good way to don't require a park ticket.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: And one of the, at least in my book, one of the huge benefits of that day is you sleep late and you don't feel like you've missed something.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah, exactly.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: And I think there's just experiences, you know, that you can take with the resorts or the transportation or various hangout spots to make it a destination, and they're perfect for rest days.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Um or some in some cases, you it doesn't have to be a rest day, it can be an exploration day.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: But just want to more laid back, we're not necessarily gonna get 25,000 steps into the day.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: Well, you want to slow that magic down a little bit.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: And so what we're gonna do is kind of talk about five ways to kind of put the magic in idle.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Put the magic in idle.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: That's great.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: We're gonna idle in the magic for a little bit.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: And some of these I'm sure that you're aware of if you're a big Disney fan, but it was fun for someone like me who uh is new to this uh style of thinking to remind myself that these things exist, and hopefully that does the same for you.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: So out there listening, yeah.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: And and some people may agree with us, and you may go, how did you miss this?
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: And we would love to hear those.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: Tell us what we please dude.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Tell us.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Uh, we love to hear despite his masters in sniffology, Tristan is not infallible, he is not the Pope of Disney.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: No, I I'm not the Pope of anything.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: I'm not even my own house.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: So all right then.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Moving on from there, what is your fifth and what is your number five in things to do on a non-park day?
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: Okay, so this my number five is not something I have done, but it's something I am interested in doing because I hear a lot of people that do it.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: And it's it's uh a Walt Disney World monorail bar crawl, pub crawl, I think.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: Um well, yeah, guess what?
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: It's on my list, it's just a bit higher.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: Well, and I figured because I want to I want to hear, we'll talk now about why you're interested, and we'll talk later when I mention it, uh more about some details, maybe.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I'm super curious about it because uh, you know, Sav and I have talked about how cool it would be to kind of stop at each of those monorail resorts, have a drink, maybe have a little tiny appetizer here and there, because each location just has such a distinct personality, and I would love to experience all of them.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: And, you know, time has never kind been right for us to do this, but I think if you time it right, you know, you could make it a full-day experience and like catch the fireworks without even stepping inside the park.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: I just think it's a it's a style, it's a social and and stylish thing to do, and very Disney adult in the best way.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: And I have never done this, but I think this would be a great addition to the McCall Tapscot Disney trip at some point in the future.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: I think you are I think you are absolutely correct.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: You could school me in the ways of the monorail pub crawl.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: So that is my number one.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Oh yes, I will.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Oh yes, I will, and I'll talk about it more in detail when it appears on my list.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: I have a uh so my number five is kind of it's a mishmash of things that I've thrown all together in one day, because you could do them all in one day, or you could separate them however you want.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: But first of all, obviously a Disney water park, which especially uh especially this summer, where you do get that free admission to one of the water parks on your arrival day.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: Now I know that's specific from Disney's point of view, but still, if you've got an early morning flight and you get to your hotel and and maybe not even necessarily be able to get to your room, but you've been smart and savvy as a Disney traveler, and you put your swimming suit in your uh rolling suitcase, and you can change in like the hotel, you know, lobby restroom, and then store your bags and then head off to the water park.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: It's just a very relaxing way to ease yourself into the Disney bubble.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: So, so that's that's the first part of that.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: Also, and I I'm sure a lot of people who listen to this podcast are aware of the two miniature golf courses that exist on Disney property.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: But but it's not usually what pops to people's mind if we're at Disney, oh, let's go play some mini golf.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: But especially the Fantasia course, which I have not played, granted, in probably 20 years, but I I'm assuming it's fairly the same, and it's just so cool.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: It's it's all Fantasia themed, and you know, it's it's just a fun way to spend an afternoon.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: And uh in fact, I believe still when you get a package, you can actually get a get a perk that allows you to play a free round sometimes, depending on the package.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: So, so there's that.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: Then on top of that, you've got like the bikes that you can rent, the the tandem bikes at Boardwalk, um, to know, ride around those.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: And then any of the any of the uh the monorail resorts that have like a dock uh or a marina, you can actually like rent boats and go out.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: I remember as a kid back when there was only one park to go to, but I thought it was so cool when my dad and I got a speed boat and we were able to, you know, drive around on on the Seven Seas Lagoon by ourselves in a boat.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: So um I know I lumped a lot of stuff into that answer, but it's it's those kinds of things, you know, that are just you know, the if you're out on the water in a boat, you're still seeing the the magic kingdom, you're still seeing the castle, you're seeing the contemporary, the Polynesian.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: It feels like a very Disney experience, but you don't need a park ticket.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: So no, that's great.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: I so that's my long number five.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: Okay, so my number four is pretty basic, but it's a Disney Springs day.
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, you can I've I've got that in my list just a little higher as well.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: Like you can treat Disney Springs like a full-day hang if you really want to.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Um, I in the past have kind of treated it more like a quick stop or like at an arrival day thing where we spent the afternoon or evening there.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: But you know, you could easily start with coffee, browse some shops, have a lunch, and enjoy live music, enjoy the people watching.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: And then, you know, I love the the the waterways and the landscaping there.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: And then as evening hits, you know, it really starts to shine and like a whole different vibe kind of takes over.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: And I love that the the bands are playing and you can have a cool dinner somewhere, and it's really a cool way to celebrate without worrying about standing in any cues.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: Granted, you're gonna drop some cash over there, but you might, you might, you might lose a bill or two.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but like I've spent some time over there and only lost, you know, a small fortune, so it's not that bad, but I think it's worth it.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: I think it's what they've done over there is really, really cool.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: And so there you go.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: My number four is Disney Space.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: And and maybe they'll bring a drone show back.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: You never know.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you never know.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: All right, so my number four are our holiday, and you you you know a lot about this.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: Kimberly knows a lot about this.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: I I have done some of it myself, never the Easter version, because I am I am becoming intrigued now, and I and I'm talking about resort hopping and checking out the resorts during the holidays because obviously at Christmas time there's all the gingerbread displays at the various resorts, but around Easter, they're apparently all doing the chocolate displays and like chocolate eggs and stuff that different pastry chefs have done that sound really cool.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: And I have never done that and would like to.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: So uh my number four are I mean, you have proven that a lobby, a lobby sniffari, as we call it, when with the cats.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: We hold the cats up to things so they can sniff high up, and we call it a sniffari.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: So so when you stop and smell the mouse in the different lobbies with your with your masters of sniffiness, um you you it's it's that you've proven that you can do that any time of year because you just go to see what the lobbies look like.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: But if you layer on that the holidays of either the Easter time holiday or the Christmas time holiday, you get that added bonus of it coming with actual sniffs.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: I I will be down there for Easter.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: And or I just was wait, hold up.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: We gotta figure out where we're at in the timeline because we know we were pre-recording this.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: I was there.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: You were there, I'm pretty sure you were there.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: I was there already.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: That's that's what we'll say in the timeline of life, uh for all our lovely listeners.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I which was one of the songs originally cut from Lion King.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: It just didn't fly.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: The timeline of life didn't have the poetic justice.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: Timeline, no, it didn't.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: I didn't, yeah.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: The timeline that Elton John eventually found with the circle.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: There was the song when Scar Came Back to Life.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: Oh, all right.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: Number four.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: Number four, yeah.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so that's your number four.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: So my number three is uh just uh taking a ride on the Skyliner just for fun.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: Um the Disney Skyliner, one of my favorite things, is a great non-park attraction, and I do call it an attraction.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: It's hiding in plain sight.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: I think it is ride it end-to-end.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: Um you know, switch uh lines, switch locations.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: Um, the aerial reviews, uh aerial views of the resorts and the water and the parks are so cool.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: And stop at Caribbean Beach, the Riviera, Pop Century, Art of Animation, grab some snacks, and just relax and like check out all those resorts before you get back on it.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: It's so peaceful, it's so great, and it's so uniquely Disney, and it's my favorite mode of transportation uh at those at the parks.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: Like Disney World has really killed it with that, and I think they should expand it everywhere.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: It has.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: I'm a I'm a huge fan.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: I will also along that train through train interesting because I'm keeping in the transportation theme, but I have often recommended, you know, to families and clients that they can do the same thing with the monorail too, because people don't realize you don't have to have a park ticket to ride the monorail.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: No, you do not.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: So so yes, and I highly second your your Skyliner riding around.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm just a big fan of the Skyliner, so go ride that thing around.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: Well, sure.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: You know, uh Harper and I love doing that, and it it's fantastic, it's so great.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: Everyone needs to just do it, just take some time and go hang out on the Skyliner.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: So there you go, number three Skyliner trips just for fun.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: So my number three uh is the is the Disney Springs day.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: One one thing you did not mention, which you know there is some very fun shopping to be had over there, but there is excellent, excellent food.
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: First of all, get in line at Gideon's to get those Gideon's cookies, people, because that's go if you're there on an on an off day, you can just stand in line and it doesn't take very long to get in.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: If you're there on a weekend, get in the virtual queue.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: But man, those cookies are good.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: That'll eat up a little of your time over there.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: Um, but and then oh my god, just the restaurants.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: I mean, I still have not eaten at the Polite Pig, and I love barbecue, but it's just man, I love Art Smith's homecoming.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: And you know, there's just so many great restaurants over there that we haven't even tried yet, and and lounges and bars, you know, Maria and Enzo's.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: Um it is Maria, right?
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: Maria and Enzo's?
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: I think that's yes.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: Now I'm I think so, but Mario?
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: I don't think it's like it's me, Mario, and I mean that's that has a weird vibe.
- 15:24SPEAKER_01: They're down the they're down the street.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: But like uh Wine Bar George is such a cool place to stop into and like get a frozen blood orange old-fashioned or a Froze.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: Um, but the one thing so so certainly you could head over there, do a light lunch, maybe.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: Um, oh, we also went, where did we go?
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: Oh, what's the name of the place?
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: Um, it's the guy who does World Kitchen.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: Um, but we ate at his restaurant the last time for lunch.
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: Delicious, and you could maybe go a little lighter there because it's more toppice.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: Uh, but do a like a light lunch, spend some time shopping.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, you can see a movie over there, certainly.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: Uh, but and I highly recommend, and I do this for my clients as well, you know, that if you have not seen Drawn to Life, have you not seen Drawn to Life?
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: I have not, but I I I want to so badly I just haven't done it yet.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: It's on my list.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: Uh, there's a lot of things on your list, sir.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: I know there's a lot.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: No, there's only too much time sometimes, you know.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: I I hear you.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: I it's taken me decades to do all the stuff I've done, but but yeah, drawn to life.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: If you if you like Cirque de Soleil and you like Disney, it it was such an interesting, cool melding of the two arts.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: Uh that's yeah, and Linuba was cool for the decades that it ran, but man, it it's so neat to see a Disney themed show at Disney in that Cirque du Soleil tent.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: So uh I I highly recommend topping off your day with with that experience and on your Disney Springs day.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: So I love that.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so that was my number three.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: So my number two is uh explore your resort wherever you happen to be staying.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: Uh you know, instead of race into the buses or the skyliner or the monorail, slow down and actually live at your resort.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: Now, this is something that's taken me a little bit of time to do as well.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: It has.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: I applaud your maturity, sir.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: I just last year I was staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Harper and I took an entire day, and that's all we did was we just hung out at the resort and just kind of explored it.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: You can walk the pathways, discover the courtyards, there's the landscaping, the pool's always really cool.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: Yes, spend the afternoon at the pool.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: You know, there's oftentimes there's games or music or something happening, you know.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: Those cast members there are just incredible.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: And uh all of those resorts offer so much that you can a lot of a lot of the resorts have like tours of like you know, right Wilderness Lodge, I know has like tours of the artwork and you know, tours of the lobby, and and you know, most of the Disney DVC resorts have some sort of craft and stuff that happens during the day or for a nominal fee, as we say in the biz.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: Um and I I just think it's a fascinating thing.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: And you know, I have never done it until last summer, largely because we just haven't made time, and I don't have time.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: Well, we didn't have time on this last trip because it was a little shorter.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: But if you have the time, my gosh, these resorts have so much to offer.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: I even learned that when I was there for Christmas when I had the whole day just to kind of explore well, and it's you know, I don't want to say it's a rookie mistake.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: It's it's I get that Disney is a major investment of time and money for people.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: And if you think you're gonna do a one and done trip, you just you, you know, you want to go, go, go, go, go, even though I do caution people that you will get worn out after a couple of days of go-go going.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: But, you know, when people go, well, why would I want to spend that kind of dis money on a Disney resort when, you know, I could stay outside the park for so much less, it's because of the experiences that you can have just within the resort that recharge your batteries and just keep you in that bubble.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and there, you know, I have been persuaded on these rest days and these resort days.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: I think they're very valuable when they can happen.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: And I was so happy that I took the advice and did that last summer.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: We took two rest days, one was a resort day, one was a lobby day, and they were fabulous days.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: Like some of my finest memories I have from that particular trip were those two days, and it was really great.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: So thanks to you and for setting me on the right path.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, you you have earned your masters of sniffing, your sniff, your your M S I I don't know.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: Anyway, uh, so my number two, I will now go back to the whole monorail skyliner pub crawl idea, which it you don't start at 11 a.m.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: It's not that kind of thing.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: You can still go to the pool and and you know, begin drinking at a civilized hour when it's like five o'clock in say Bermuda.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: It's five o'clock in Bermuda.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, honestly, you could probably I here's what I would maybe do.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: I don't know, we kind of did a version of this.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: I would go to I would, you know, sleep late, maybe go to your hotel pool, explore your own lobby.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: But so for a monorail pub crawl, I would suggest that you get to uh the contemporary and have lunch at Steakhouse 71.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: Because if you have not dined there, you really should.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: And you can start with some sort of lovely cocktail with your lunch.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: Man, the chocolate boulevardier is one of our favorites, and Jackie has learned to make an imposter at home that is delicious.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: Uh, but uh, you know, that gets a little food in your tum-tum, as Pooh would say, and uh, you know, so you're not gonna be like falling off the monorail platform, which is a definite don't on a monorail pub crawl.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: But then to, you know, take the uh take the monorail over to the Polynesian, maybe sit outside the Ohana at that bar up there.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: Maybe you get a little noodles to share as a snack.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: Man, that back scratcher.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: When Jackie and I I got the back scratcher, and she got the thing that comes literally in a fresh pineapple that's been hollowed out with a straw, like Gilligan's Island cocktail.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: And oh man, those were really cool.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: Clearly, Trader Sam's is a great place to catch a drink at the Polynesian.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: Then you've got uh you've got Grand Floridian, which I was just reading a review of the new Birdcage bar.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: Birdcage?
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: Is that what it's called?
- 22:33SPEAKER_01: Does Nathan Lane and Robin Williams show up at your table?
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Is it called the Birdcage or the Birdcage?
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: I don't I it's not.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: It has a classier name.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: The Aviary?
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: No.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: No.
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: I don't know what the hell it's called.
- 22:45SPEAKER_01: I can't remember now.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: You can Google it.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: That's what Google's for.
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: Uh, but now I wasn't it was interesting that they only had two cocktails.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: Very limited selection.
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: But okay, whatever.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: But the Enchanted Rose.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: The Enchanted Rose has some amazing stuff.
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: I have had incredible seasonal old fashions in that bar that are just amazing.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: And then, you know, with the Monorail pub crawl, we tend to end up back at the contemporary and go up to the contemporary or to the uh California Grill Bar, and you can get a cocktail up there.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: Um now with the Skyliner, I mean, look at all of those great lounges around the the uh because you've got the Ailen Compass, uh and is that the one at Yacht Club?
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: Or is that anyway?
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: There's a great bar at Yacht Club.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: Uh you've got a couple of good options.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: Uh I guess well, Riviera has Topolino's Terrace, which if you can't get a dinner reservation there, at least go up to the bar and have a cocktail and check out the view.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: Um but but again, the Skyliner resorts have uh have some really cool options for a Skyliner pub crawl.
- 24:13SPEAKER_01: So you can do them both.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: You can do them both.
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: I would not recommend them both in the same day.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: And I do feel like at least for me, there are there are many solid options on the monorail pub crawl.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: Um but you know, whatever whatever is gonna give you the relaxing, fun day that you want.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: And of course, the and of course, one of the best parts about having a cocktail on Disney property is you do not have to drive home.
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: Uh well, there is there is that there is no there is no liability risk involved.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: Depends on where you're staying.
- 24:49SPEAKER_00: You might have to do some walking, but well, or some Uberin.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: Or some Uberin, but uh uh but yeah, that's I I'm so curious about doing something like that.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: So in my that is on my You are correct, you should do it with us.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: We know we know pub, we do pub crawling right.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: I I'd have to like I'd have to get my tolerance back up and do some practice drinking, I think, to keep up with you though, because I'm at Yes.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: Well, yes, yes, you probably would, but but I I have confidence in you.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: You are of the theater.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: Uh yes, I still have those those muscles should come right back.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't think it would take long.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: Uh okay, so my number one is uh the resort lobby tour.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: Um you can kind of turn Disney's hotels into your attractions for the day.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: You can take your time, uh, notice the architecture, the artwork, the the sense, um, the the music, the just the vibe, because each one has is so different.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: And each lobby is a masterclass in Disney storytelling, which I've always loved.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: And you can easily make this a full day.
- 26:01SPEAKER_00: Harper and I did this last summer, and it took us a minute.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: Well, and your your strategy was brilliant.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: The strategy was great until the weather hit, and then it was it really slowed us down for a minute.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: Um, and it took a full day.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: I mean, because of the weather, we did not get back to Animal Kingdom Launch until close to 11.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: But we also stopped for like breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: Like we made it a full day, right?
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: Um, but you know, and I asked Harper, I said, you know, what were some of the highlights from that?
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: And she said, Coronado Springs, the Grand Florida, the Polly, and Fort Wilderness and Jumbo House.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: But all of them really do have something cool, and I think it's worth it to give that a shot because it is a really breathtaking day, and it's cool to hit all of them too.
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: Like it's it's well, and I will say, and I will admit I am not up to I'm not the most up to date currently on my on my coin press machines, but I know in the past for things like major anniversaries, I honestly remember the 25th anniversary because you know I was going there 30 years ago.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: Oh, sure.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: Uh but different resorts had different coin presses, and in order to get all of a series, and I think this is even still true now because our friend Marianna does a lot of uh pressed coins, and I do believe there were times that we were going to a resort and she was like, Oh, could you get me because then maybe they did them for the 50th?
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: I I don't know, but I'm just saying a lot of times there are things, you know, within the resort that are special that you can't find elsewhere.
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: That's really cool.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: I like that.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: I just love the I loved I just love the rider lobbies.
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: God, it was so cool.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: And you, you know, even at Christmas time when I did it then, it was stunning then too.
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: And I didn't hit them all that time because I just didn't have the time, but um if you have the time, I highly recommend it.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: As do I.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: And my no so my number one on on this list is uh and I it it sort of would fit in with the pub crawl, and and really I made it at number one because it feels like you're it feels a little like you're cheating.
- 28:25SPEAKER_01: It feels a little like you're you're getting something from you're getting true Disney magic without chucking over the money for the day, but it is, and you've you alluded to it earlier, but it's watching the fireworks because I I will admit that as a DVC member, I do on a on a non-park day look for a way to probably go to villains Lair so that we can watch Magic Kingdom fireworks, which even works on party nights.
- 28:56SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: So there have been nights that you know we're not going to the Christmas party or we're not going to Mickey's Not So Scary, but we'll go up and have a beverage up at the villain's lair and then watch those fireworks, which we didn't even pay for a party ticket for.
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: Um and it's just and and the same can be said also of Topolinos, I guess.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: You can see the I I don't think it's quite the same in my book to like see the Hollywood.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: I mean, because Hollywood, it's like what Phantasmic shoots some stuff off, but it's not a full fireworks show.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: And and I guess watching uh Symphony of Us, Illuminous?
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: Yes, Illuminous.
- 29:44SPEAKER_01: Yes, Illuminous.
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: Uh you can watch that up there from Topolino's.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: But it's just it's it's so special, and fireworks are a huge part of my love of Disney, and just to get an extra night of the fireworks, especially because in those places they do pipe in the soundtrack, so you're getting the full experience.
- 30:05SPEAKER_01: And uh to get just bonus fireworks on a non-park day is is chef's kiss in my in my world.
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: So there you have it.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: There we go.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: All right now I did as I as I said to you, I think we did this topic once before years ago.
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: Maybe, but uh, if we did, I'm gonna go back and try to find it and see what we said back then, see how the 2026 version has changed.
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, if it if and it's very possible.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: We've done 200 plus of these things, and sometimes I am like, oh, we did that already.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: So this seems really familiar, Tristan.
- 30:43SPEAKER_00: I I think we did this one.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: But I think there's value in uh updating things, absolutely, because things change and yeah, but this is always a pleasure.
- 30:54SPEAKER_00: Um, and you know, if somebody's wanting to book a trip with you, if they listen to the show, they hear it all the time.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: But go to the webinar, you know, and you can help them out.
- 31:03SPEAKER_01: We do.
- 31:03SPEAKER_01: And we'll we'll chat about how to make your Disney vacation just right for you and your family.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: And you know, it I love doing this, and I love that people are listening, and this is so much fun to chat with you, of course.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: Who I will I will say I just had some spring break family, uh, some spring break families come back, and and one of them did the premiere pass at Magic Kingdom and at Hollywood Studios during spring break.
- 31:31SPEAKER_01: They confessed that it will be hard to go back to being, as you say, a normie.
- 31:38SPEAKER_01: Yes, it's hard to be a normie.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: Once you've gone bougie, it's hard to go back.
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: It is, it is, but you know, we all have to make our sacrifices.
- 31:47SPEAKER_01: But they they made clear that it was well worth it during spring break.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: Oh, I have that flexibility and the ability to walk on an attraction in the order that you wanted to, without spending any time on your phone trying to reserve time.
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: So yeah, that's we people grumble, people grumble at the premium stuff you can purchase, but if you have it as part of your budget, it's it's a nice it's a nice thing.
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we'll see.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: We'll see how this all goes.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: I'll be I I I my hope is that the the prices don't go up anymore.
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: Um they're never gonna go down, but I hope they don't go up anymore, because they're Josh, Josh will I think Josh has his Josh has his eye on keeping things affordable.
- 32:37SPEAKER_01: I hope so, but he was in charge when they went up, so we'll see.
- 32:42SPEAKER_01: Well, you'll just have to not go anymore, and then I will just go and tell you what it was like.
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: All right, sounds good.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: Well, okay.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: Hey, and thank you for doing this, Mr.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: McCall, and it's always a pleasure and meeting and you know, I think.
