- 0:04Speaker 2: Out that welcome to Friday.
- 0:06Speaker 3: We've made it through another week, and that's a good
- 0:08Speaker 3: reason to have some joy this morning. For feeling good
- 0:11Speaker 3: before five with Toby and Chilly in the Morning on
- 0:13Speaker 3: ninety seven point one wash FM. Feeling good today, Chili
- 0:17Speaker 3: because although the fomo is real, I did not bracket
- 0:21Speaker 3: up this year.
- 0:22Speaker 4: Oh no, March Madness crazy losing money for you, you.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Know, because right now I can tell you my bracket
- 0:28Speaker 3: would probably already be busted. And we're like, what a
- 0:30Speaker 3: day into the tournament? Two days in the tournament? I
- 0:32Speaker 3: see there you go. I can't even figure out when
- 0:35Speaker 3: the tournament began because there were games prior to the
- 0:38Speaker 3: tournament that they listed as part of the madness.
- 0:40Speaker 2: And I was like, well, that's kind of cool.
- 0:42Speaker 4: Yeah they're pregaming now, but but I didn't.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Even see that the pregaming meant anything for the mad See.
- 0:48Speaker 3: I just don't know to be glad, I said, no, Well, I'll.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Piggyback on the whole March Madness theme and tell you
- 0:53Speaker 4: I'm feeling good because my husband doesn't care enough about
- 0:56Speaker 4: basketball right let alone college basketball.
- 1:00Speaker 2: It means the money safely in the bank.
- 1:02Speaker 4: No, it means we have his attention because all no,
- 1:05Speaker 4: and we're not judging you. I know there are a lot
- 1:07Speaker 4: of people who are quote unquote working while they're watching
- 1:11Speaker 4: games on their computer. Sure, but he's present. The only
- 1:16Speaker 4: thing that takes his attention are the capitals, and that's
- 1:19Speaker 4: that's fine. It's not as maddening as March maddness. So
- 1:23Speaker 4: that's why I'm grateful. Not only are we not losing
- 1:25Speaker 4: money with any of this, but I'm not losing my husband.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I hope that you know, for the sake of
- 1:30Speaker 3: my relationship that the Arkansas Razorbacks are not in this
- 1:33Speaker 3: tournament because my significant other does this weird hog call thing.
- 1:38Speaker 3: I guess that's their deal down there. I don't know,
- 1:40Speaker 3: but the bottom line is the fomo might be real.
- 1:42Speaker 3: I'm just happy I'm saving. Hopefully you're happy you're saving,
- 1:45Speaker 3: unless you're really good at the spracketology, in which case,
- 1:48Speaker 3: may the odds be forever in your favor.

- 3:55Speaker 3: how you're doing upstairs in that space up there, your
- 3:59Speaker 3: morning mindset and since it's Friday, yes, it'll be inspired
- 4:03Speaker 3: by the lyrics of a song which you'll hear more
- 4:05Speaker 3: than likely on our Best of the eighties and nineties weekend.
- 4:08Speaker 3: It starts today at five. So what is your morning mindset?
- 4:11Speaker 3: You'll find out next. Stay with ninety seven point one

- 4:31Speaker 4: It's called our Morning Mindset. This is where we share
- 4:33Speaker 4: a quote to get you into a good headspace, and
- 4:35Speaker 4: on Fridays, is usually from a lyric from either an
- 4:38Speaker 4: eighties or nineties song in honor of our best of
- 4:41Speaker 4: the eighties and nineties Weekend.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Starts later on today at five with Sabrina Conti see
- 4:45Speaker 3: what we did there. Now you'll hear what we did
- 4:47Speaker 3: there too. Life's like a road that should travel on
- 4:50Speaker 3: when there's one day here and the next day gone.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Tom Cochrane from Life is a highway. Life's like a
- 4:57Speaker 3: road you travel on when there's one day here in
- 5:00Speaker 3: the next day gone. I think that this lyric, Chili
- 5:03Speaker 3: and I think that this lyric. If you're listening to
- 5:05Speaker 3: us right now, it's a reminder that life is not
- 5:08Speaker 3: a destination that you arrive at someday. It's a journey
- 5:11Speaker 3: and it's happening right now. Everyone you meet, every choice
- 5:15Speaker 3: you make, everything you do today these moments are the point.
- 5:21Speaker 3: So this morning the Mindset's simple, stay present, keep moving forward,
- 5:26Speaker 3: and enjoy the ride while you're on the road. Tom cochrane,
- 5:30Speaker 3: Life is a highway a song hopefully you'll hear on
- 5:33Speaker 3: this best of the eighties and nineties weekend with ninety
- 5:35Speaker 3: seven point one wash FM. Need it again, You'll find
- 5:38Speaker 3: it Instagram, Facebook, Toby and chilipage at washfm dot com.
- 5:43Speaker 3: And of course, if you have a quote that's inspired you,
- 5:46Speaker 3: feel free to send it our way and we too
- 5:47Speaker 3: could feature it right here to make us all feel
- 5:50Speaker 3: good with Monday's edition to the Morning Mindset after the weekend.
- 5:54Speaker 4: Next with Toby and Chilly in the Morning, we want
- 5:56Speaker 4: to know what important document you may have accidentally deleted.
- 5:59Speaker 4: We're asking because he's a guy almost lost out on
- 6:01Speaker 4: millions of dollars when he deleted an email about winning
- 6:05Speaker 4: the lottery.
- 6:05Speaker 3: The numbers eight sixty six, ninety two, seven, forty three,
- 6:08Speaker 3: sixty one. If we just triggered a thought, feel free
- 6:10Speaker 3: to call tell us all about it.
- 6:12Speaker 2: That's coming up next.
- 6:14Speaker 3: If we're honest with ourselves, and we can be honest
- 6:18Speaker 3: with ourselves because well we're all family here. It's ninety
- 6:21Speaker 3: seven point one was chef, and we can be honest
- 6:23Speaker 3: with one another. We've all deleted something at some point
- 6:26Speaker 3: in time that was really important.
- 6:28Speaker 4: So there was a guy who nearly missed out on
- 6:30Speaker 4: fifty million dollar powerball jackpot prize because he accidentally deleted
- 6:35Speaker 4: an email that said he had won. Now he thought
- 6:37Speaker 4: it was a scam. He's like, let me just double
- 6:39Speaker 4: check with the lottery, and it ended up being the
- 6:41Speaker 4: real deal. Thank god, otherwise he would have been kicking himself.
- 6:45Speaker 3: You ever delete anything, have experience where you lost something
- 6:48Speaker 3: on accident for whatever reason.
- 6:50Speaker 4: In college before auto safe became a thing, I had
- 6:52Speaker 4: worked really hard on a paper and accidentally deleted it
- 6:56Speaker 4: and had to start from scratch.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Oh yes, I'm the king of paper billing and stuff
- 7:01Speaker 3: like that. I had a big bill for a move
- 7:04Speaker 3: that came to my email box. Deleted it, but it
- 7:07Speaker 3: just so happened that that email had the invoice for
- 7:09Speaker 3: the move, and well I kind of needed to turn
- 7:11Speaker 3: that in for reimbursement. So I guess you had to
- 7:13Speaker 3: go back hat in hand ask for the bill again,
- 7:17Speaker 3: and I needed to ask for the form for reimbursement again.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Twas not good anyway, we're Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 7:22Speaker 3: It's ninety seven point one was CHEFM and it taught
- 7:24Speaker 3: me a lesson save everything.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Mike in Darnstown, good morning. What did you accidentally delete?
- 7:30Speaker 5: I accidentally deleted an important.
- 7:32Speaker 2: File at my job.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Oh what was it?
- 7:34Speaker 1: It was a project that my boss was working on
- 7:37Speaker 1: for a week and I deleted it and all of
- 7:40Speaker 1: the work was lost.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Oh wow?
- 7:42Speaker 4: How did he react?
- 7:43Speaker 5: I got raked over the calls and we moved on.
- 7:45Speaker 5: But it was definitely a rough couple of weeks.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I can imagine. Wow.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Well, hopefully everything worked out. Sounds like it did. You're
- 7:53Speaker 3: still working there. Stephanie, Good morning, and thank you for
- 7:56Speaker 3: listening to us. In Fort Washington? What'd you lose?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Lea?
- 8:00Speaker 4: Did a job offer email completely by accident while clearing
- 8:03Speaker 4: my inbox? How did that happen? I thought it was
- 8:06Speaker 4: spamm because the subject line was just next step, But
- 8:09Speaker 4: then how did you know that it was real?
- 8:11Speaker 6: Three days later they called asking why I never responded, and.
- 8:15Speaker 4: I almost passed out.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Almost I would have straight up passed out, Chilli.
- 8:19Speaker 4: That would not have been good.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Well, thank you for the call this morning to add
- 8:22Speaker 3: your voice to the conversation. It's ninety seven point one
- 8:25Speaker 3: watch FM. If you want to drop us a quick line.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Talk back always works if you're signed into your iHeart app.

- 8:34Speaker 4: Morning, we're going to update you on all the news
- 8:35Speaker 4: headlines with Toby and Chili's Top Stories.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Ninety seven point one WASHFM, Washington, an iHeartRadio station, coming
- 8:45Speaker 1: up on top Stories Top of the Hour.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Officials say the National Guard troops may remain stationed in
- 8:51Speaker 4: DC through early twenty twenty nine. We've got more on
- 8:54Speaker 4: that story and others on the way with Toby and
- 8:57Speaker 4: Chili in the Morning on ninety seven point one wash IT.
- 9:02Speaker 5: Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Director of National Intelligence Tulsey Gabber told a House Intelligence
- 9:08Speaker 4: Committee hearing that US goals in the Iran conflict differ
- 9:13Speaker 4: from Israel's. She said Israel aims to target Iranian leaders,
- 9:16Speaker 4: while the President seeks to destroy Iran's ballistic missiles, navy,
- 9:20Speaker 4: and mind laying capabilities. Officials say the National Guard troops
- 9:25Speaker 4: may remain station in DC through early twenty twenty nine
- 9:27Speaker 4: as part of ongoing security operations. The extended present stems
- 9:31Speaker 4: from federal actions at placed guard units in the city
- 9:34Speaker 4: to support local security efforts. An assistant track coach has
- 9:39Speaker 4: been arrested in Fairfax County for possession of child sexual
- 9:42Speaker 4: abuse material. This She'll say, twenty eight year old Richard
- 9:46Speaker 4: Huerta will be fired from Hayfield Secondary School. Montgomery County
- 9:51Speaker 4: Executive Mark Elrich has proposed an eight billion dollar budget
- 9:55Speaker 4: that includes both property and income tax increases, citing lost
- 9:59Speaker 4: revenue you from federal job cuts and new pension costs.
- 10:03Speaker 4: The County Council is going to be reviewing the plan
- 10:05Speaker 4: incoming weeks. The National Park Service is seeking public input
- 10:10Speaker 4: on a long term plan for managing the trees and
- 10:13Speaker 4: scenic views along the GW Parkway. A virtual meeting was
- 10:16Speaker 4: held this week and comments are going to be accepted
- 10:19Speaker 4: through April eleventh, as officials way environmental impacts and future
- 10:23Speaker 4: tree removal. And The Bachelorette has been canceled after domestic
- 10:28Speaker 4: violence allegations involved star Taylor Frankie Paul. The decision follows
- 10:33Speaker 4: a pause in filming for the Secret Lives of Mormon
- 10:36Speaker 4: Wives amid allegations between Taylor and her partner Dakota Mortenson.
- 10:41Speaker 4: Forecast for today beautiful, partly sunny, highs around seventy right now,
- 10:46Speaker 4: thirty six in Burn.
- 10:47Speaker 2: And that's the news. Don't forget.
- 10:49Speaker 3: With Toby and Chilly in the Morning, you get top
- 10:50Speaker 3: stories at the top of the hour, and next here
- 10:53Speaker 3: on ninety seven point one watch FM, Chilly. I came
- 10:56Speaker 3: across this list, and I gotta pick your brain about
- 10:59Speaker 3: what I'm reading, because this, to me is interesting. Apparently
- 11:03Speaker 3: after a certain age, women start to care less about
- 11:06Speaker 3: other people's opinions.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Oh, indeed we do.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Oh, I'm going to.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Get you that age in just a few minutes. I'll
- 11:11Speaker 3: give you some of the background on this study. And
- 11:14Speaker 3: then I got to know how much of this list
- 11:16Speaker 3: is legitimate, yes or no, So we'll get into that.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Coming up next with Toby and Chilly in the Morning,
- 11:22Speaker 3: Join us, Chilly. I came across this list. Now I
- 11:24Speaker 3: gotta get your take on it, Toby and Chilly in
- 11:27Speaker 3: the Morning. It's ninety seven point one wash FM eight
- 11:30Speaker 3: six six ninety seven forty three sixty one is our number.
- 11:32Speaker 3: But Chili, this list says these are the top ten
- 11:35Speaker 3: signs a woman no longer cares what others think of them.
- 11:40Speaker 3: And I sent this to you and team so you
- 11:42Speaker 3: can see the list. How much of this is true?
- 11:44Speaker 3: A lot of this is true.
- 11:46Speaker 4: I think the article that you just sent me says
- 11:48Speaker 4: that at the age of fifty is when women start
- 11:51Speaker 4: to not care about other people's opinions. Okay, one hundred
- 11:54Speaker 4: percent agreed. There is a lot to be said about
- 11:58Speaker 4: being secure and who you are as you get older,
- 12:01Speaker 4: and some of that comes into play after menopause and
- 12:06Speaker 4: more monal shifts. WHOA, there's one on this that I
- 12:10Speaker 4: have not embraced, and that is gray hairs. So they
- 12:13Speaker 4: say that that's another sign where you just embrace your
- 12:15Speaker 4: gray hairs. Embracing your gray hairs to me meaning just
- 12:18Speaker 4: let just go gray and let it grow gray. I
- 12:21Speaker 4: still do my roots because it's just a process. It
- 12:24Speaker 4: just takes too long. So that's the only thing. Everything
- 12:26Speaker 4: else totally agree. But it's not an insecurity thing. No,
- 12:30Speaker 4: I just like the way it looks better.
- 12:31Speaker 3: I used to die my hair, not because it was gray,
- 12:34Speaker 3: just because I thought it was cool.
- 12:35Speaker 2: And then now I don't have any hair, so I
- 12:37Speaker 2: just shave it.
- 12:38Speaker 3: I can't relate to any of this, yeah, let alone
- 12:40Speaker 3: those menopausal changes you just refer to to but it's
- 12:44Speaker 3: a fascinating list and some of the things on it
- 12:47Speaker 3: made me raise eyebrows. Yeah, simply saying no to plans
- 12:51Speaker 3: just because you don't feel like it.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Yeah, and only keeping meaningful friends rather than the ones
- 12:56Speaker 4: you feel obligated to stay in touch with. That's why
- 12:58Speaker 4: your circle does get smaller you get older.
- 13:00Speaker 3: And not having to explain your choices. Being on the
- 13:03Speaker 3: list is well help, that's just empowering. Take a look
- 13:06Speaker 3: at the entire list if you want to. You'll find
- 13:08Speaker 3: it on the Toby and Chili page at waschefm dot com.
- 13:11Speaker 3: And stay with us because tis the season of Madness.
- 13:14Speaker 3: The tournament is on in the NCAA basketball fans, how's
- 13:18Speaker 3: your bracket?
- 13:18Speaker 2: Look?
- 13:19Speaker 3: Are you playing hooky from work to watch any of
- 13:22Speaker 3: the tournament when it tips off? Tell us your most
- 13:25Speaker 3: ridiculous excuse for missing work. Did it work for you?
- 13:29Speaker 3: We're going to talk more about this coming up next.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Stay with Toby and Chili.
- 13:32Speaker 2: In the morning. March Madness is on.
- 13:35Speaker 3: It's ninety seven point one WASHEFM Toby and Chilly in
- 13:38Speaker 3: the Morning.
- 13:38Speaker 2: There's a survey out this morning that says.
- 13:42Speaker 4: More male employees start calling in sick I guess yesterday
- 13:46Speaker 4: and today than any other time of the year because
- 13:48Speaker 4: they want to be watching all the madness.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Yes, and the madness does last a couple of weeks
- 13:53Speaker 3: through the month of March, so I'm thinking there's probably
- 13:55Speaker 3: plenty of time for people to play a little bit
- 13:57Speaker 3: of hookey with a good excuse.
- 13:59Speaker 4: And that's what we want want to talk about. What
- 14:01Speaker 4: outrageous excuse have you ever given, not just for March madains,
- 14:04Speaker 4: but just to get out of work in general?
- 14:06Speaker 3: Have you ever played hooky and given an excuse I
- 14:09Speaker 3: have a cough, chilly No.
- 14:11Speaker 4: I've never faked being sick or faked having other obligations.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Have you No? I have not. Do you know why?
- 14:17Speaker 3: Chili karma is a beast and it'll come back and
- 14:20Speaker 3: get you? And I would post something on social media
- 14:24Speaker 3: and then that would be like, ha ha, your cover
- 14:26Speaker 3: is blown. He's so sick, can't come to work, but
- 14:28Speaker 3: he can post on Instagram. That never turns out. Okay,
- 14:31Speaker 3: eight six, six, nine two seven forty three sixty. When
- 14:34Speaker 3: is their number in talkbacks? But if you want to
- 14:36Speaker 3: tap the talkback Mike, leave us a message. Have you
- 14:39Speaker 3: ever played hooky? What was your outrageous excuse? What'd you use?
- 14:43Speaker 3: Good morning, LUs Sinda, and thanks for listening in to
- 14:46Speaker 3: Coomba Park.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 14:47Speaker 7: I told him my aunt died and they're like, what's one?
- 14:49Speaker 3: Now?
- 14:50Speaker 4: You use excuses of your aunt dying before? Well, what
- 14:54Speaker 4: did you tell them this time?
- 14:56Speaker 7: This one was my uncle wife And they're like.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Okay, no, oh not okay.
- 15:01Speaker 4: I would not want to be tempting fake even if
- 15:03Speaker 4: I didn't like that anti mine. I'm not killing people
- 15:06Speaker 4: using fake excuses like that.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Just to get a day off. That's playing marbles with karma,
- 15:12Speaker 3: something you don't do. Thanks for the call though this morning.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Now to Sterling Tiffany, good morning.
- 15:19Speaker 6: When I was in high school, I was working at
- 15:21Speaker 6: a grocery store and I came into work and people
- 15:24Speaker 6: were like, we've been trying to get hold of you
- 15:26Speaker 6: all week. Why aren't you answering us?
- 15:28Speaker 4: And what was your outrageous excuse?
- 15:31Speaker 6: I lost my phone on a roller coaster, so I
- 15:33Speaker 6: wasn't getting the phone calls in the text messages.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Well, I'll certainly give you points for creativity.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but only if they bought it they.
- 15:41Speaker 6: Believe me, because me and my family are total coaster junkies.
- 15:45Speaker 4: That's all funny games, Tiffany until it really happens to you.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Tiffany, thank you. If you've got something to add, talkback
- 15:52Speaker 3: works great, sign in, tap the talkback microphone, tell us
- 15:56Speaker 3: the excuse you used the ridiculous one to get a
- 16:00Speaker 3: work and play hooky and stay right there because we
- 16:02Speaker 3: get the news.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Top Stories at the top of the hour. On the

- 20:32Speaker 4: Got a story we think will make you feel good
- 20:34Speaker 4: on this Friday. After losing his dad, a DC man
- 20:37Speaker 4: turned a chance discovery into a one thousand day ritual
- 20:42Speaker 4: and an unexpected path to healing along the way.
- 20:45Speaker 3: A really great story to wrap up Saint Patti's week
- 20:48Speaker 3: Wait till you hear this well, Saint Patrick's Day was
- 20:52Speaker 3: this weekend. As such, the luck of the Irish has
- 20:56Speaker 3: smiled upon this story, which we think might make you
- 20:59Speaker 3: feel good today. So let's embrace all the fields Saint
- 21:03Speaker 3: Patrick's day. Seeing somebody looking around, scanning the grass for
- 21:06Speaker 3: a little luck, it may not raise an eyebrow, but
- 21:09Speaker 3: in DC, that search quiet search has become something deeper
- 21:13Speaker 3: for Walter Jenkins. It's a ritual for Walter Jenkins rooted
- 21:16Speaker 3: in healing and not just tradition.
- 21:18Speaker 4: So Walter, for more than a thousand consecutive days, has
- 21:22Speaker 4: stepped outside in every kind of weather, and he looks
- 21:26Speaker 4: around and studies the patches of clover, and every single
- 21:30Speaker 4: day he sawhow finds a four leaf clover, and other
- 21:35Speaker 4: times even more rare ones, like one with nine leaves.
- 21:39Speaker 2: That's just amazing.
- 21:40Speaker 3: One that the clovers keep appearing to nine leaves, that's
- 21:44Speaker 3: like beyond rare.
- 21:45Speaker 2: It's a heard of now, mister Jenkins.
- 21:47Speaker 3: His journey started on a day that really carried some
- 21:50Speaker 3: deep emotional weight. It was the anniversary, just past the
- 21:53Speaker 3: anniversary of when he lost his dad, and that sense
- 21:57Speaker 3: of loss stayed with him for decades. And the quiet
- 22:00Speaker 3: of the moment he found his first four leaf clover,
- 22:03Speaker 3: and with that find a sense of peace, something he
- 22:07Speaker 3: hadn't felt in a long time. So the next day
- 22:09Speaker 3: he went back out, and then he went back out again.
- 22:12Speaker 4: The next day, and so it's kept on going, and
- 22:14Speaker 4: what really started as a way for Walter to cope
- 22:18Speaker 4: slowly became this daily act of resilience. And now every
- 22:21Speaker 4: single clover is a reminder that even when you're grieving,
- 22:24Speaker 4: there are small moments of light, and that healing doesn't
- 22:26Speaker 4: always come all at once, but in these quiet and
- 22:29Speaker 4: consistent steps.
- 22:30Speaker 3: If that story doesn't make you feel good, on a Friday.
- 22:33Speaker 3: I'm not sure what will What a way to finish
- 22:36Speaker 3: Saint Patrick's day week and what a story, mister Jenkins.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Thank you for sharing it and for making us feel
- 22:41Speaker 3: good today. If you want to read it again, you
- 22:43Speaker 3: can go even deeper Toby and Chilipage watchfm dot com
