- 0:00And the man, the Mets are going to give him a significant,
- 0:04you're going to have a ton of money to spend.
- 0:06Why not pulling in one of the top three offensive players in
- 0:09the league? We're going to be looking at
- 0:19Aaron George and saying that he can't win the big game, Michael
- 0:22Jordan said. I played 82 games.
- 0:25You don't see LeBron doing that. A game where you got to go
- 0:28before I told you. Giant feet, Saquon Barkley at
- 0:32this You're listening to Jabba and
- 1:32the Mouth. Mouth, 631-672-3108 is that I'm
- 1:42going to call. You're listening to Jabba and
- 1:47the Mouth. Jabba right now is in Kansas
- 1:50City. His son is pitching tonight, so
- 1:53we probably aren't going to see him.
- 1:55He might pop in, might not, but you will be back on Thursday.
- 1:59Yes, you know who I am. My name is Errol Marx.
- 2:02They call me the mouth. As you heard, my executive
- 2:05producer, Mr. Aaron Fish Fishman, Mr. Speedy.
- 2:08Pee pee pee. Well, PD pee pee, whatever you
- 2:10want to call him, he's here. My exact.
- 2:14Well, he's my producer. He's my other half, my Co host
- 2:18on the board, Tommy Popes in the back end.
- 2:21We have some interns. We got Zach, we're going to have
- 2:25Dylan. All of the guys are going to be
- 2:26popping in and popping out. And we have Mr. NR Media
- 2:30himself, the one they call NIF, or we call him the NIF man, The
- 2:36leash, as we always say. Yeah, well, there's a lot of
- 2:41people putting somebody on a leash.

- 3:00for all our shows is go to our website at
- 3:03www.worldwidesportsradio.com. And gentlemen, it's been a
- 3:11crazy, crazy weekend for the one they call the mouth.
- 3:14I'm not going to talk like a a third person speak or look like
- 3:18a complete moron because Kyler Murray does that enough for
- 3:22himself. I can't speak in a third person,
- 3:25but if I must, I will today. And I enjoyed the weekend.
- 3:30We saw a little snow last night and I there was nothing on our
- 3:33forecast. And that's why, ladies and
- 3:35gentlemen, weather men and women should not be weather men or
- 3:39women. There should be AI women and men
- 3:42controlling the thought of what our weather is going to be every
- 3:46single week, every single day, every single hour, every single
- 3:50second. You know why?
- 3:51Because they're never right. They're always wrong.
- 3:54So over the weekend we had some interesting weather.
- 3:58It went from at one point it was like 49°, almost 50, and then it
- 4:02dipped down at night to almost 20°.
- 4:05I can't understand this weather over here.
- 4:07I can't, I don't get it. But New York weather is a unique
- 4:12place and a unique forecast and, and be, by the way, being that
- 4:18we live on the island, it's completely different as far as
- 4:21the weather is concerned. In Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan,
- 4:26Staten Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, upstate New York, it's
- 4:31probably 10 feet of snow. I mean, I don't get it.
- 4:34But there's nothing. There is nothing like New York.
- 4:38Nothing. I don't care what anybody says
- 4:41and I've been all over the world.
- 4:42Anybody that knows me and listens to the show, I'm a DJ.
- 4:45I've traveled all over the world.
- 4:48I've been to Poland, I've been to Germany, I've been to New
- 4:51Zealand, Iceland, you name Amsterdam, Amsterdam, I've been
- 4:54all over the place. There are some countries I've
- 4:57never been to. Australia is one place I
- 4:59definitely want to get a chance to visit but never got a chance
- 5:02to yet. But me and my girl have spoke
- 5:04about that. That's one place that we're
- 5:06definitely going to have an opportunity.
- 5:08By the way, they have a place in Australia, Australia called like
- 5:12the Blue Lagoon and that's where great white sharks breed every
- 5:17winter. So don't go into the Blue Lagoon
- 5:20if you want to survive because these, there's like hundreds of
- 5:24sharks that go over there and they breed in this particular
- 5:27place. So I, I that's not a place that
- 5:30I would be going and, and hanging out.
- 5:31But yeah, it's been a crazy, crazy weekend.
- 5:35I don't like when it's snowing or it's bad weather out because
- 5:39even if it's flurrying, people are rushing, rushing to the,
- 5:42the, they're rushing to all these different stores like
- 5:46Walmart. And if you live in, in certain
- 5:48parts in the West Coast, they still have Kmart.
- 5:51And then all the food markets, shop rites, stop and shop all of
- 5:55them. They're all packed.
- 5:56And we, we have what's the place called?
- 5:58Weymans. Now it's called Weymans, right?
- 6:01Wegmans, Wegmans, Wegmans, which is, I think it's, I think it was
- 6:06built in the South. I, I, I don't know where, where
- 6:08it started, but we have a Wegmans here now and they want
- 6:11to put one in Nassau. But right by me they opened up a
- 6:14Wegmans and I still never been there because every day it's
- 6:19like it's, I don't even know it's like 6 flags over there.
- 6:22You can't even find a spot to park to go and check out the
- 6:26store. So me and my girlfriend who
- 6:28likes to go to different stores and check out the place.
- 6:31We have never been to Wegmans and it's been open for over a
- 6:34year now. So hopefully one of these days
- 6:36we'll get a chance to go and check out the the nice, nice
- 6:40sitting arrangements where you can have lunch and breakfast
- 6:43there and have all their different desserts.
- 6:45And those are the places that you you like to check out when
- 6:49you've never been. I see fish they.
- 6:50Got those by me and when I was in college, I saw a lot of them
- 6:5420 years ago because they started up in like Syracuse,
- 6:58Rochester, Buffalo area. They were like ranked like #1
- 7:02for like employee satisfaction really for years.
- 7:05Like they just treat their employees really well there.
- 7:07And it's a little expensive, but like they do it all there
- 7:11themselves. So it's kind of like more like
- 7:13an authentic feel. I've always had good stuff from
- 7:16them. It's just, it's going to, you're
- 7:18going to pay for it, you know? That's what I, I've heard
- 7:21everything there. If you want to buy like a milk,
- 7:23a 2% milk, it's like over there in Walmart you can buy for like
- 7:27$2.25. Over there at Wegmans you're
- 7:30going to spend like 325 or 345. What what's the difference
- 7:34between milk? I mean, why?
- 7:35Because as a Wegmans. Themselves or something like
- 7:38that. We got to ask Speedy because
- 7:39he's the milker. The 2026 The NBA All Star
- 7:43Weekend was yet another different format as the NBA
- 7:46tries to make the event as relevant as it once was.
- 7:52This year was uneven as many stars played very few minutes
- 7:57and small roles in the weekends festivities.
- 8:00The youth movement, however, did not disappoint, which many fans
- 8:05thought was an improvement on previous years and contests.
- 8:10San Antonio's went as we own webbing.
- 8:13Yama took the spotlight early, making athletic plays on both
- 8:18sides of the court, contesting a lot of shots like he would in
- 8:23the NBA games. Anthony Edwards won the All Star
- 8:27game MVP. Wow.
- 8:29But mention how much credit Wembe deserves for sparking a
- 8:33competitive atmosphere. The All Star game usually
- 8:37doesn't have Edwards. Team of Stars defeated Team
- 8:42Stripes in the All Star game final.
- 8:44Team World, who stars Luka Doncic and Nikola Yokich, didn't
- 8:50even play Game 2 for injury management reasons.
- 8:54Outside of Devin Booker, Team Stripes featured a lot of young
- 8:59players including Pistons forward, forward and point guard
- 9:03Kate Cunningham. 76ers guard Tyrese Maxi along with Mr. MVP
- 9:10himself Anthony Edwards on Saturday the heats.
- 9:14Kashad Johnson won the dunk contest while an injured Damian
- 9:19Lillard won the three-point contest LED by #3 overall pick
- 9:24of Rising Stars MVP Vijay Iscomb.
- 9:28Vince Carter's team edged out Carmelo Anthony's team in the
- 9:32Rising Stars game, while the New York Knicks won yes.
- 9:36While the New York Knicks won the first even Shooting Stars
- 9:41challenge led by Jaylen Bronson, Karl Anthony Towns and future
- 9:46Hall of Fame. I'm I'm not going to say that
- 9:48because that's probably not going to happen anyways.
- 9:50The I guess the assistant GM of the New York Knicks, Alan
- 9:54Houston. I will say this, I wrote a story
- 9:58and it's right up right now on the worldwide Sports radio
- 10:01network and I'm going to bring it up right here so people can
- 10:04check it out. If you haven't read it, it is a
- 10:06great story. I put it together.
- 10:08I had a lot of thought to it. It's called Put the All Star
- 10:11Game in the G League and let and let it think about what it's
- 10:16done. Why the NBA needs to cancel its
- 10:20own birthday party. So ladies and gentlemen, go
- 10:23check out my wonderful story. I gave you my take on why the
- 10:27All Star Game should not exist anymore in the NBA because it's
- 10:31an absolute joke and they didn't disappoint it really.
- 10:34I know if you're a Knicks fan, you love to see the New York
- 10:37Knicks win that extravaganza of shooting as we saw Jalen Bronson
- 10:43and Karl Anthony Towns and Alan Houston, who was one of the
- 10:46great shooters the Knicks have have always had.
- 10:48You know, you think about all the great players Alan Houston's
- 10:52get Alan Houston gets hidden for the time that he was a a really
- 10:56good player, an average 20 point scorer, who at some points was
- 11:00the Knicks big time option, offensive option or either as a
- 11:04starter or off the bench. But when you watch the All Star
- 11:08game, you want to be wowed and I wasn't.
- 11:13And you think about it, the, the fact that the All Star Game was
- 11:18out West and the game, I mean, as far as the All Star
- 11:23extravaganza, the, its festivities, as far as the dunk
- 11:26contest, the three-point contest, it, it aired at 5:00 PM
- 11:30on the West Coast. And on the East Coast, it's
- 11:338:00. But you can't find it.
- 11:36You couldn't find it. It usually is on TNT, but TNT
- 11:39doesn't have that contract anymore.
- 11:41So it was on NBC/ESPN. So right there.
- 11:47And I'll say what I, I want to say about this.
- 11:49This is the perfect time to promote the All Star Game
- 11:53because there's nothing going on except the Olympics.
- 11:56And if you're not a World Olympic fan, you're not really
- 12:01tuned into it. I mean, like we're watching
- 12:03right now curling. I mean, my girlfriend didn't
- 12:06even know what it was. So you're not, if you're not
- 12:10into the Olympic thought or into into the Olympic sports, you're
- 12:14really in tune to what's going on in the NBA because baseball
- 12:17isn't going on right now. Pitchers and catchers are a week
- 12:20away. I the hockey, hockey is right
- 12:23now put on hold because they're in the Olympics.
- 12:26I mean, if you want to watch NASCAR, I mean, Daytona 500 was
- 12:29on this weekend. If you're really interested in
- 12:31that. There's nothing.
- 12:34There's nothing going on. So this is the spotlight for the
- 12:38NBA and Adam Silver. And what Adam Silver should be
- 12:42doing is figuring out ways to entertain the fans and they
- 12:46failed to do that. Say whatever you want.
- 12:49And and by the way, Anthony Edwards winning an MVP for the
- 12:52All Star game needs nothing. It means nothing because this is
- 12:56the same guy that the NBA and American basketball is trying to
- 13:00put the the American basketball on his shoulders.
- 13:05We watched it on the Netflix documentary Go for Gold, and he
- 13:11pretty much told Obama that he doesn't want to be the face of
- 13:15America. He's the truth, but he doesn't
- 13:18want to be the face of America. He has no interest in being that
- 13:21person, that guy. And maybe Cooper flags going to
- 13:25be that guy in the future. He looks like he's going to be a
- 13:27rising star. They've got some good players
- 13:30coming out this coming year out of the draft.
- 13:33Three of them are are American coming out from Kansas and BYU
- 13:38and Duke. Maybe one of those guys could be
- 13:41the face of American basketball because we know it's not going
- 13:44to be LeBron James or Steph Curry or Kevin Durant much
- 13:46longer. And I, I'll say this, going back
- 13:51to the All Star game, bringing this world versus America.
- 13:56That's cool, that's cool. But you saw what the NHL did
- 14:01last year. What, what, what did they call
- 14:04that? The Four Nations having
- 14:07different nations play against one another, Finland and Sweden
- 14:10and America and Canada, 34 big time places, big hockey
- 14:16programs. It was fun to watch because
- 14:19they're playing not to, you know, play with your teammates
- 14:22or play again, you know, play for each other or whatever.
- 14:25Dilly dally and and be a skills skill player.
- 14:29And that's why you make these All Star games to impress the
- 14:31fan. No, they played for their
- 14:33colors. They played for their countries.
- 14:37And that's what obviously the NBA tried with this, but none of
- 14:41it made sense. Why do you have Carmelo Anthony
- 14:44and Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady and all these guys
- 14:48create their teams and compete against one another?
- 14:51First of all, I love you Carmelo, and I love what he does
- 14:55right now in the media world. I think he brings a different
- 14:58dynamic to his Brooklyn show, and it's great.
- 15:00It really is. But sometimes when somebody
- 15:04speaks too much into a mic, it gets you to wonder if the guy
- 15:09really knows what he's talking about or speaking about.
- 15:13I listen to these guys and Vince Carter, out of all of them, to
- 15:16me is the most knowledgeable 1 when it comes to the game of
- 15:19basketball because I listen to Tracy and Tracy, this is not a
- 15:22shot at you. You are a great basketball
- 15:26player and when you went to Houston, you became a superstar.
- 15:29You were a great player with Orlando, but you knew you were
- 15:32never going to be, I mean, I'm sorry, Toronto, you never knew.
- 15:37I don't think you ever thought you were ever going to be the
- 15:40superstar, which you're when you're playing with your cousin
- 15:43Vince Carter from North Carolina.
- 15:45And he was a superstar, right when he he stepped on an NBA
- 15:48basketball court because of his ability to dunk and do all these
- 15:53acrobatic things on a basketball court.
- 15:57The league is different now. It's a business.
- 16:01It's about sponsorships and building a brand, including your
- 16:05own. LeBron James has been the king
- 16:07of that as maybe we should give him the name King for that
- 16:11because that guy is the first billionaire as an athlete
- 16:14playing in his sport. Now Tiger Woods became a
- 16:18billionaire but it wasn't. He wasn't a billionaire until at
- 16:21the tail end of his career and I don't even know if he broke a
- 16:24billion dollars even though his contract said that he did.
- 16:28LeBron is a natural billionaire. Michael Jordan was one of the
- 16:32first athletes to ever become a billionaire, not as a player.
- 16:38And if you ask Michael Jordan right now or Larry Bird or Magic
- 16:41Johnson about the game of basketball and even these All
- 16:43Star games, they would probably joke, bicker about it, laugh
- 16:48about it and tell you this is absolutely horrible to watch.
- 16:54You want to see the best players on the basketball court and in
- 16:57the All Star game, you don't even see them play at a high
- 16:59level. You don't.
- 17:02Karl Anthony Towns looked like he was an overweight big man
- 17:06going up and down the court. That's what he look like.
- 17:09Now, I'm not saying he doesn't look like that sometimes when he
- 17:12plays for the Knicks, but he looks better than that.
- 17:17He didn't look good. I mean, I don't care what
- 17:18anybody says, these guys, Anthony Edwards, if he wants to
- 17:21brag about being an All Star MVP, good for you, good for you.
- 17:28You're choked in the Finals. We've seen you do that.
- 17:33It unfortunately when you look at the NBA now and I, I, that's
- 17:37where my story really ends and begins.
- 17:40When you compare the players, the backup players on the bench
- 17:44on an NBA team, they're making almost $1.5 million more than
- 17:49some of the bench players on an, in an NFL, on an NFL team that
- 17:53holds 53 players and probably never gets a chance to play or
- 17:58play, I'm sorry, gets to play more minutes than you do and you
- 18:02never get a chance to play as an NBA player.
- 18:05I mean, how many 13th 13 players or the 13th player on the bench
- 18:10or 12th player on the bench actually gets a chance to play
- 18:13on an NBA team? And if they do, how many minutes
- 18:16do they have? A minute, 4 minutes, 3 minutes
- 18:21at best, at best. And they're making $3,000,000,
- 18:28two and a half million dollars doing nothing, throwing the
- 18:32throwing the at the end of the bench, the best players, some
- 18:35water. If, if you want to, if you want
- 18:37to bring a player in to pay two and a half, $1,000,000 to to
- 18:40throw some water to Jalen Brunson or Mikhail Bridges, I'll
- 18:43do it. Give me two and a half million
- 18:45dollars. I'll do whatever you want.
- 18:47If you want me to wash their jock strap, I'll do that too.
- 18:50It's two and a half million dollars, but that's what the NBA
- 18:56All Star festivities is. That's what these All Star games
- 18:59are. Look at the NFL with the flag
- 19:01football. That's a joke.
- 19:04It's a joke. The MLBI mean it is competitive
- 19:10somewhat I I guess. I mean, you can't fake hitting a
- 19:14home run. I mean, I, I'm not, but I've
- 19:18seen pitchers just throw it like right over the plate for them to
- 19:21smack a ball. I think baseball, at least they
- 19:24play somewhat. I mean, it's some competition.
- 19:27Yeah, baseball. At least they try a little
- 19:28harder. They'll just take a picture out
- 19:29after two outs, though. The NHL has been the most
- 19:32impressive out of all of them. I mean, the skills competition,
- 19:34they love to compete against one another, They love it.
- 19:38And Gary Bettman has done a great job for all the hockey
- 19:41fans, booing him every time the the draft comes around.
- 19:45And I've been to a ton of them. I was invited to a ton of them
- 19:48and got a chance to interview Gary Bettman in the past.
- 19:52I feel bad for Gary because he's been there.
- 19:55He has the longest tenure of any of the commissioners.
- 19:59Gary Batman's been around since the 80's, the 80s with the NHL.
- 20:06Rodger Goodell has only been around what, 15 years?
- 20:10You have Manford, How long has he been around 10?
- 20:12Last year I was gonna say about 10-11.
- 20:16Think about it, out of the four major sports here in America and
- 20:19Adam Silver I. Think it's always slightly
- 20:21before man. Yeah, Adam Silver is the biggest
- 20:23joke out of all of them. One of the ugliest commissioners
- 20:27I've ever seen. By the way, his ears are
- 20:29probably bigger than his whole face.
- 20:31I mean, his nose sticks out like he's going to poke you in the
- 20:34eye, so. Basically, he's Pinocchio.
- 20:36No, he's worse than that. Oh, he's worse.
- 20:39Wow. He, I mean, he does a lot of
- 20:40lying, there's no question. That he I was going to say
- 20:43that's. Why?
- 20:43He does a lot of lying. But the NBA is just an absolute
- 20:48joke, the festivities. And I don't care what anybody
- 20:52says, it's great to see a New York team win something.
- 20:54We watched them play in this what this, this league
- 20:57tournament thing that they won. And listen, they won.
- 21:02I got a hat. It might be the only thing they
- 21:04win in the next 10 years. The Shooting Stars hat now, too.
- 21:07No, I didn't get that. I don't know if I won, but
- 21:10here's the facts. You want to see these young
- 21:13superstars develop and in the Rising Stars game, that was fun
- 21:17to watch, that was more interesting to watch than any of
- 21:21these, you know, slam dunk these contests that they have and even
- 21:25the All Star game, the regular All Star game, because you got a
- 21:27chance to to meet the Harpers. You got the chance to got a
- 21:31chance to meet and see the the stars in his league like Cooper
- 21:36flag and and all these guys play against one another.
- 21:39This is the future of the NBA and they're competitive.
- 21:41They're competing because they want to show off their skills.
- 21:44That's what you want to see when you look at the league now.
- 21:49I just think it's a bunch of cry babies because LeBron James has
- 21:53brought a distinct version of what the NBA shouldn't be now in
- 21:58the league. I don't care what anybody says
- 22:00and I'm not blaming LeBron James.
- 22:01And everybody keeps attacking me on my take like I hate LeBron
- 22:05James. Oh, I hate Steph Curry because
- 22:07I've said my piece against him. I don't think Steph Curry is a
- 22:11top ten player of all time because there's a lot of other
- 22:13guys that have distinctively, distinctively have changed the
- 22:16game. That doesn't mean Steph Curry
- 22:19isn't a great player, but when you look at the facts here,
- 22:25LeBron James just hurt the league, the growth of the
- 22:27league, not in a way for money, but when it comes to, hey, I
- 22:32want to play football, basketball, hockey or baseball,
- 22:38I'm looking at basketball completely different way right
- 22:41now. I'm looking at it as, oh, I got
- 22:45to be a prima Donna crybaby. That has to be a me player, not
- 22:54a team player to become a superstar in a league where
- 22:58there's so many of them. Think about it.
- 23:01Anthony Edwards, is he A-Team player, a me player?
- 23:04He's a me player. Webbing.
- 23:06Yama is the only guy that I've seen, and I'm not a big Webby
- 23:10fan because they're trying to compare him to LeBron James.
- 23:12I mean, I'm sorry, not LeBron James.
- 23:13Michael Jordan. He's the next Michael Jordan.
- 23:16He could go down better than Michael Jordan.
- 23:18I don't like when I hear that every single time a new
- 23:20superstar comes into this lake. I can't stand it.
- 23:24But what I do know about webbing Yama is he's a competitor.
- 23:27It doesn't matter if it's an All Star game.
- 23:29It doesn't matter if it's a skills competition.
- 23:31It doesn't matter if he's playing a pickup game on the
- 23:34street. This man plays to win, he plays
- 23:38to compete. Those are the type of players
- 23:40you want in the NBA. Those are the type of players
- 23:43you want to build your emblem, you want to build your brand
- 23:45around, not cry baby LeBron or Anthony Edwards saying I don't
- 23:50want to be the face of American basketball.
- 23:54He can't even pronounce basketball.
- 23:55He goes at best ball. You know, I don't even know.
- 23:58How are these guys educated, honestly?
- 24:01You have Steph Curry saying it meant many, many different times
- 24:05saying that. Do we even know if we've been on
- 24:07the move before? I don't know.
- 24:09I mean, there's video, there's pictures, and this guy says
- 24:11we've never been on the moon. We should just somebody should
- 24:13just kidnap him from NASA and just put him in and put him on
- 24:16another planet for. See, the problem with the NBA is
- 24:18they use their platform to be like to be.
- 24:22It's everything they don't. They don't use the platform for
- 24:26good to help kids understand the game and and try to want to be
- 24:31the next big superstar in the NBA.
- 24:34No, they don't want to do that. What they do is they use the
- 24:37platform to attack politics or attack this attack that and and
- 24:41even this All Star game during the weekend.
- 24:44I mean, when it listen to what every single one player was
- 24:47talking about, they every one of them in some kind of
- 24:50conversation brought up ice every single one of them.
- 24:56I don't want to hear it. Go out there and impress me on
- 24:59your skills, your dunking ability.
- 25:02I don't care what your politician as a politician or
- 25:05your politic way, or if you're Republican, Democratic or
- 25:08conservative. I don't care.
- 25:11I care about the game of basketball.
- 25:13It's my favorite sport. It's my favorite sport since I
- 25:18was a kid and watching that All Star game, it was pathetic.
- 25:23Pathetic. They should be ashamed of
- 25:26themselves. The NBA should be ashamed of
- 25:28themselves having those festivities.
- 25:30And dude, some of these dunks that they were doing, I mean,
- 25:33they weren't even jump jumping from the foul line and they were
- 25:36like they were all like they were like dancing around like
- 25:39they were going crazy. Like it was the best dunk
- 25:42they've ever seen. When we've seen guys on the in
- 25:44the park in Brooklyn dunk like that, there was nothing
- 25:50impressive. And the fact that Damian Lillard
- 25:54won the three-point contest tells me one thing.
- 25:57Why is he on the basketball court?
- 26:00If you could chew like that, you should be playing basketball.
- 26:04You're pretty much taking money from Portland.
- 26:08And that's what I that's where I come from when it comes to
- 26:11basketball and watching the game of basketball in the 80s and the
- 26:1390s, because guys like Patrick Ewing, Michael Jordan, Charles
- 26:16Oakley, guys that I rooted for, Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniel,
- 26:22these guys would go on the basketball court with broken
- 26:25fingers, broken toes, bad knees, pulled hamstrings.
- 26:32You have LeBron James. Oh my Binky.
- 26:35I can't play for two weeks. Give me a break, a break, guys.
- 26:43So when I watch these All Star games and I watch the
- 26:45festivities and what they bring to the table, all they bring is
- 26:49a bunch of crap. A bunch of boring dunks, A bunch
- 26:54of guys that could shoot 3 pointers.
- 26:56Hey, if I could shoot 503 pointers in a day, which some of
- 26:59these guys do. Kobe Bryant even admitted he
- 27:02shoot 503 pointers in the morning and 503 pointers after
- 27:06practice. When you're shooting 1003
- 27:08pointers a day, you're going to be pretty damn good at it,
- 27:10wouldn't you think? Practice makes perfect.
- 27:13Maybe not for James Harden, but for everybody else.
- 27:17It's pathetic. The NBA needs to get rid of the
- 27:22All Star game. If they can't find a way to get
- 27:24these guys to compete in a competitive fashion, then get
- 27:27rid of it. Banish it.
- 27:29It's done. Sayonara Ovoir.
- 27:33As you know, Webanyama would say I don't want it anymore, I don't
- 27:37want to deal with it. And that's, to me, is where the
- 27:41NBA needs to go. Yeah, I think if you're going to
- 27:44make it where you're going to have these players, these
- 27:46younger players be more competitive, there's an obvious
- 27:48solution if you want to try to keep it, and that's get rid of
- 27:50the fan vote, because I think the fan vote is the big reason.
- 27:52That's all these other guys, the Lebrons, the Kevin Durants, all
- 27:55these guys that aren't showing effort are in the All Star game.
- 27:58And LeBron was out half the season.
- 28:00Like in a lot of years. If your name is not LeBron
- 28:02James, a player in that same scenario might be a fringe All
- 28:04Star at best because he's but is LeBron.
- 28:07He's the LJA, the basically the face of the league forever.
- 28:11And you can, you can say you are, he says he's the first
- 28:13billionaire CEO. He's the CEO commissioner of the
- 28:15LJA because he's the he's the guy running the league now.
- 28:18I think when you look at the younger players than the
- 28:21previous generation, I would say outside of Anthony Edward,
- 28:23Anthony Edward just cocky, whatever.
- 28:25I think a lot of these guys like Wendy, like Nicola Yokich, like
- 28:29Lukodontik are not trying to make it all about themselves
- 28:31anymore, which I think is a good thing to an extent.
- 28:34You need more of those types of players to do it because this is
- 28:36a product that's been really bad for a while with the All Star
- 28:39game. And while this is a step in the
- 28:41right direction, you'd still can't say, OK, this is All Star
- 28:43Game is saved by any means just because the younger players
- 28:45played hard. Yes, the Rising Stars played
- 28:47hard. Yes, even some of those veteran
- 28:48guys, the Alan Houston's, Ron Harper's, the alumni guys, they
- 28:52played hard in that Shooting Stars contest.
- 28:54And the youngsters are going to play hard.
- 28:55The only reason you're going to get the young, the only way
- 28:57you're going to get the youngsters to vote is if you
- 28:59collaborate with the players. I mean, obviously there's going
- 29:02to be some with the injury issues, whatever.
- 29:04Collaborate with the players and make them the ones or the
- 29:06coaches, the ones that'll vote on who plays in the All Star
- 29:10game, who wants to actually play hard.
- 29:11Make it something like that rather than the fan vote where
- 29:15you're just going to have all right, casual basketball fans
- 29:17voting for LeBron, casual backs, fans voting for Steph Curry when
- 29:21there might be more qualified guys.
- 29:22I'm not saying that Steph Curry's had a bad year.
- 29:24I'm not saying Lebron's had a bad year, but Kate Cunningham
- 29:27and Tyrese Maxi have been better than those two guys this year.
- 29:29And maybe in a popular vote that wouldn't have been the case.
- 29:33So I think you have to be able to branch it out where you've
- 29:36seen progress with these younger players showing much more effort
- 29:39than the veteran players on the court, A young team winning in
- 29:42this new format and say, all right, we're going to have
- 29:44players vote and coaches vote from now on.
- 29:47Because a lot of these LeBron era and probably up until
- 29:50Joellen B, let's let's use that Ranch 2003, 2014, Those are the
- 29:54ones that are complaining the most.
- 29:55Those are the ones that are and. They're the ones that are making
- 29:58the most money. And they're the ones like you
- 30:00were saying before that are making these outrageous
- 30:01statements. Kyrie Irving, James Hard and all
- 30:03these guys. It's really the outside of
- 30:05Anthony Edwards past the 2015 draft as much.
- 30:08You're not seeing that as much with Yokich, Luka Doncic, the
- 30:11two Celtic Stars, like guys like that.
- 30:13You're not seeing it with as much outside of Anthony Edwards.
- 30:15So that's the gap that if you want to save the All Star game,
- 30:18you got to start utilizing that more and brand these young guys
- 30:21better. I will say this, I agree with
- 30:24you with some of the young superstars that they have in the
- 30:26NBA and and Tyrese Maxi is a great player.
- 30:29I I know Fish didn't think he was a top five player when he
- 30:32was at the point of his dominance early in the season.
- 30:35He's been amazing on a roster that, let's be honest, when you
- 30:39playing with Joel Embiid and Paul George, 2 cocky guys that
- 30:43can't stay healthy and have their own thought about team
- 30:47basketball because I don't think they believe in it.
- 30:50I, I think Tyrese Maxi gives you a different impression on that.
- 30:53And I think the 76ers are put in a really good position.
- 30:55Having a player of that magnitude, especially a guy that
- 30:58wasn't a lottery pick, a lot of people passed up on.
- 31:00And you see his development as we've seen a lot of John
- 31:03Calipari guys after a little while, like Devin Booker when he
- 31:07came into the league, a lot of people were questioning he was a
- 31:09high draft pick. He was a lottery pick, but a lot
- 31:11of people were like, will his ability of shooting work in the
- 31:15NBA. And boy has it ever.
- 31:16I mean, he he's become more of a guy, more of a defensive player
- 31:20in the NBA than he was when he was playing for Kentucky in
- 31:22college. But there are guys that Halpern,
- 31:25Tyrese Halpern, he was not a good shooter when he came into
- 31:27the NBA. A lot of people question his
- 31:29skills offensively. How is it going to work his
- 31:31release everything? Well, Tyrese Halpern has proven
- 31:34that he you can win with him and you could build a roster around
- 31:37him. Sacramento had to lose him to
- 31:39understand how great he has become as a player.
- 31:42But again, when you watch the rising star game, there are some
- 31:46thought that these the NBA is in a very good position to build
- 31:50their organization and their brand around these players in
- 31:54the future. But when you have guys like
- 31:56Anthony Edwards, who is I, I would say 2526 years old, he's
- 31:59just, he's starting to kick as the, the player, the go to
- 32:03player that the NBA can build their brand around when it comes
- 32:06to American basketball. He doesn't want to be the guy.
- 32:09He doesn't want to be the factor.
- 32:10And that goes to guys that are making fifty $660,000,000 a
- 32:15year. Where you, you, you wonder when
- 32:18guys like James Harden or I, I don't know, LeBron James, who
- 32:22are they're both at the tail end of their career.
- 32:24And what they've done for the NBA is they've taught these
- 32:27young players how to travel, how to not play the game of
- 32:31basketball the right way, how to complain to the referees so they
- 32:35can shoot 1415 of free throws every single game and get just
- 32:4014 points. Oh, I've become.
- 32:41I'm a good free throw shooter. Yeah, when you're shooting 2530
- 32:44of them every single game. I mean, James Harden.
- 32:47Think about this. When James Harden was a triple
- 32:51double player that year when he won the MVP, he was averaging 15
- 32:55to 16 free throws a game. Think about that.
- 32:59That's almost half the amount of points he needs to hit 30
- 33:03points. And when he's a good free throw
- 33:05shooter and he's only missing maybe one or none every single
- 33:08game, that's 16 points automatically because he was
- 33:13traveling with the ball, hopping to the hole or stepping back.
- 33:17Oh, I, I define the backup jump shot.
- 33:20Really. You, you defined it all right?
- 33:22You taught us how to double dribble.
- 33:23You taught us how to travel. The one thing that you're taught
- 33:27as a young kid not to do. Hey, James Hardens, the guy,
- 33:30he's the factor. He's the absolute impression of
- 33:34baby antics. Just say.
- 33:36Yeah. And again, I think you're seeing
- 33:37a lot of these other guys being more humble.
- 33:39And maybe it's the international push with Wendy, with him
- 33:43showing the effort and some of these other players that are
- 33:45going to be coming in the league now that are more of the
- 33:48international stars because you're not seeing as much of
- 33:50their, I guess, antics. And we talked about it last
- 33:52year, not last year, I think right before the Summer Olympics
- 33:55a few years ago where we were talking about, oh, the European
- 33:57brand of basketball is going to take over.
- 33:59Now, I'm not saying that obviously the the freak athletes
- 34:01that you see the power game with the big men and stuff like that
- 34:04are the same in Europe as they are in the US.
- 34:06See why you have more of these tactical types like Yokich.
- 34:09Even Kristaps Porzingis when he got drafted was thought of as a
- 34:11shooter, not really thought of as that big behemoth type that
- 34:14you're seeing with guys like Joel Embiid.
- 34:15It's a different type of game. But that type of mindset I think
- 34:18is what these younger stars have, which is a good thing to
- 34:20see. But you can't judge just one
- 34:22year of a sample to say, oh, the NBA All Star game is saved.
- 34:25These antics are not going to continue as long as LeBron and
- 34:28these other stars are going to run the league.
- 34:29So I have some solutions Errol to to fix this, and I think
- 34:34there's a very simple problem them that they they haven't
- 34:37figured out yet. First off, before I tell you the
- 34:40solution, Dame isn't playing because Dame was bad at defense
- 34:44before he tore his Achilles and that dude's going to have to be
- 34:47completely healthy just to be passable on the defensive end.
- 34:50I, I kind of expect him to be kind of like a 6th man off the
- 34:54bench in this stage of his career coming back like this
- 34:57instant offense type of guy, because I defensively, I just
- 35:00don't think he can hold up in the starting lineup, But I hope
- 35:03he does because he's the one of the all time great shooters and
- 35:05competitors that we've had in like the modern era.
- 35:08But Speaking of shooters, like don't we have enough?
- 35:11Like, do I really want to see cat, even though I'm so glad the
- 35:14Knicks won that? Do I need cat hitting like 3
- 35:16foot shots and then 10 foot shots and then taking a shot
- 35:20from the top of the key And then do I really need that?
- 35:22Do we are we just playing around the world?
- 35:24Like is that the best that we have?
- 35:25When I. Was a kid around the world
- 35:27basketball? But, but like as something to
- 35:30watch, it's something to play. It's great, but it's something
- 35:32to watch. I, I'm not into that.
- 35:34So here's what I think. I think they should have went to
- 35:37what the fun games really are when you're on the basketball
- 35:40courts when you were kids. I like, I didn't want to play
- 35:43horse. I wanted to play.
- 35:45We called it Utah 'cause I grew up in the city.
- 35:47When I moved out of the city, they called it city or I've
- 35:50heard it called 21 one-on-one. You're always challenging
- 35:54someone king of the court. I'd love to see a king of the
- 35:57court in the All Star game, these All Stars challenging All
- 36:01Stars who can stay on the court one-on-one.
- 36:03Can you imagine like a guy like Michael Jordan back in the day,
- 36:05like just challenging everybody to come at them?
- 36:08It would have been and just calling people out even it would
- 36:10be the best ever or two on two tournament, you know, like NBA
- 36:13Jam style. Maybe you put hot spots on the
- 36:15floor where they could shoot a 5 point shot for Steph Curry.
- 36:18Wouldn't that be a lot of fun? But the reason why, like those
- 36:22things would be great. It's not going to happen.
- 36:24Those things, it's not going to happen because they'd rather
- 36:26have these lazy shooting competitions that are boring to
- 36:29watch. You know what I mean?
- 36:31Like, it's not fun. Like what we should see is
- 36:33competition. We had Luka and Jokic play what,
- 36:37a combined 6-7 minutes in this, Like the kids would say 6-7
- 36:41minutes, absolutely nothing, a bunch of garbage.
- 36:45I accidentally didn't. I had to play into it, you know
- 36:47what I mean? You know, it's, it's funny that
- 36:49you brought up Luka Doncic because I was talking about, I
- 36:51was talking to one of the unique personalities for Nick
- 36:55basketball. He has his own podcast, his
- 36:57name's Quran and his beautiful wife or his girlfriend Maxine
- 37:02And we, I was, I got a chance to be introduced to them.
- 37:04I was watching their 24 hour show this past weekend and they
- 37:08did, they talked Nick basketball for 24 hours.
- 37:11I want to give a shout out to them.
- 37:12They're sensational. They really are.
- 37:13And, and, and Quran knows his basketball.
- 37:16No question. He knows his Nick basketball.
- 37:18And I, I got on the phone with Quran and we were talking about
- 37:20the Lakers. And he's I said the Lakers are
- 37:23the one team that I think is going to tell they're going to
- 37:25be on a tailspin because once Lebron's gone, because LeBron is
- 37:28hurtful at the organization, I don't know if they're going to
- 37:31be able to bring players there because I don't know if anybody
- 37:34was going to want to play there. And she, he told me, he says
- 37:36they have Luca there and every every 5 to 10 years, they always
- 37:40get that superstar that they can build with, which he's right.
- 37:43And pretty much he was, he was hand fed Luca Doncic was hand
- 37:46fed to from Dallas, thanks to you know who and the NBA hand
- 37:50fed them to the Lakers. And and but here's the problem.
- 37:54Does anybody really want to be a Laker?
- 37:55Now he says that don't be surprised if Nicola Yokich, you
- 37:58know, when he becomes a free agent in the next year or two,
- 38:02he he wants to go and play with Luca.
- 38:04But does it work? We've seen Luca play over there
- 38:08with Dallas with his his buddy Chris stops Porzingis.
- 38:11They wanted up fighting and it didn't get along.
- 38:13They didn't get along over there because Chris stops wanted a
- 38:15little bit more of the GOAT. He wanted to be one of the the
- 38:19go to guys, but he couldn't stay healthy.
- 38:20He had knee problems. Maybe that's the reason why the
- 38:22Knicks couldn't stand him or didn't want to them there.
- 38:24But what I'm saying here is the NBA is different now when you
- 38:28look at the teams like the Lakers and the Celtics or even
- 38:30the Knicks, the Knicks have become a good destination.
- 38:33They were never a destination. Now they've become more of a
- 38:36destination. And, and, and it really hurt him
- 38:38with the Charles Oakley thing. But when James Dolan did what he
- 38:41did to Charles Oakley and then LeBron, his big mouth came out
- 38:45and stuck up for Charles And I love Charles.
- 38:47I've interviewed Charles Oakley, love Charles.
- 38:50I, I love him. He was my favorite player
- 38:51growing up for the New York Knicks.
- 38:53So I'm not taking shots of Charles.
- 38:54What I'm saying is the league, the NBA guys like LeBron James
- 38:59after what James Dolan, that has nothing to do with the Knicks
- 39:02organization. It doesn't have anything to do
- 39:04with the the how it's run. When the owner opened up his
- 39:07mouth, it, it hurt the Knicks getting that big superstar.
- 39:11Why? Because LeBron James said
- 39:13something. He used the media to attack the
- 39:16New York Knicks organization and that set the Knicks back 5-6
- 39:19years because nobody wanted to go over there and play with
- 39:22Carmelo Anthony after that whole situation.
- 39:25So Carmelo, after the fact of that, that story happening, the
- 39:30Knicks could never find that other guy.
- 39:31As soon as Amari Stoudamire had to walk away from the game of
- 39:34basketball, nobody, no other super.
- 39:36I wanted to come here and play with him.
- 39:38All because of that Charles Oakley situation.
- 39:40Yeah, that's how the league has changed too.
- 39:42When you look at the format of these teams.
- 39:44We talked about it last week with the Lakers.
- 39:45Like the Lakers have you mentioned there the Knicks of of
- 39:48the past now transforming themselves and they're really
- 39:50only being saved because they have LeBron and Luka Doncic.
- 39:53If they had that level of talent, they probably don't make
- 39:55the playoffs like the Knicks didn't do many times with
- 39:58Carmelo Anthony. If they didn't make the
- 39:59playoffs, they were they had that one year as a three seed
- 40:01and then every other year they were a French team.
- 40:03Does the NBA have a tanking problem?
- 40:06At the NBA All Star Game, reporters asked Adam Silver
- 40:10about the recent tanking behavior going on, related
- 40:14mainly to the Utah Jazz and the Indiana Pacers being fine 6
- 40:19figure amounts for making it obvious that they were throwing
- 40:24certain games. Silver was very blunt with the
- 40:27media, saying that there's no options.
- 40:31I'm sorry, no options are off the table.
- 40:34As far as trying to prevent future tanking, Silver mentioned
- 40:38that he believes that the problems lie in and how the NBA
- 40:42Draft is structured, where the three worst records in the NBA
- 40:47have the same amount of odds to get the number one overall pick.
- 40:51He also mentioned that tanking away draft picks from teams I'm
- 40:57sorry taking away draft picks from other teams could be a
- 41:01punishment if a team keeps purposely trying to lose.
- 41:06Another possible solution would be the to I'm sorry to end the
- 41:10draft lottery as Silver claims it it.
- 41:13It has a possibility to become a counterproductive rewarding,
- 41:19tanking, rewarding taking and opposing to trying to help the
- 41:25worst teams. There are five teams going into
- 41:29the All Star break with less than 20 wins right now with the
- 41:33Jazz, the Pacers, the Wizards, the Kings, the Nets.
- 41:36This draft is expected to be most mostly loaded with at least
- 41:428 franchise changing players expected to go in the top ten
- 41:47and four players that could be instant All Stars with Cameron
- 41:51Boozer, Caleb Wilson, Mr. Peterson, and AG.
- 41:55The Bensa from BYUI don't think takings that big of a problem
- 42:00with the NBA. I'm going to be quite honest
- 42:02with you because we saw a Dallas Maverick team that was probably
- 42:07the 10th or the 11th worst team in the NBA win the lottery.
- 42:12They went from 10 or 11 where they should have been and they
- 42:16jumped all the way to 1 because of the lottery.
- 42:18Now, maybe it was a winky dink or maybe it's just the NBA
- 42:22helping or throwing a bone to the Dallas Mavericks after
- 42:25trading Luka Dodgek and helping LeBron James and the Lakers out.
- 42:29I understand what they're saying and the Pacers have to be, I
- 42:33think a top, I think it's a top five or top six team to get
- 42:38their draft pick because if they're not a top five, top 6, I
- 42:42don't remember who it goes to, but it goes to another team.
- 42:44I think it's OK. So whatever, I I don't know who
- 42:48it's who it's from, but I'm hearing that they have to, they
- 42:51have to be in the top five or top 6 to get their their first
- 42:56round draft pick. And that's the problem.
- 42:58I think that's the problem with the NBA, the unprotected and
- 43:02protected trades, and I've been saying this for a long, long
- 43:05time. If you're trading a pick, there
- 43:09shouldn't be a protected and unprotected because it it
- 43:12screwed the Knicks with Kristaps Porzingis.
- 43:15They got two first round draft picks for Kristaps Porzingis.
- 43:18At the time, Kristaps Porzingis was a 20 point player and almost
- 43:2210 rebounds. He was one of the the best young
- 43:24players in the NBA. He really was.
- 43:27He was one of the up rising superstars and probably one of
- 43:30the best young superstars the NBA and the New York Knicks have
- 43:34had in almost 10 years. And what happened?
- 43:39They traded him for two first round draft picks that turned
- 43:43into two second round draft picks that really turned into
- 43:45nothing. Kristaps Porzingis eventually
- 43:48moves from Dallas, it says the Celtics, and wins a
- 43:51championship. Helps out the Celtics.
- 43:53A big part of the Celtics run to win a championship.
- 43:57Thank you, New York for giving us a superstar player for
- 44:01nothing. That is the problem.
- 44:04And I don't know what. I don't know what Dallas got
- 44:06from the Celtics, but I'm sure they got something better than
- 44:09the Knicks got. It's a big problem.
- 44:13This protected, unprotected thing is the problem.
- 44:16It's not about the lottery and tanking.
- 44:18I I don't think it really matters because the NBA has
- 44:20control of that. They have control of it.
- 44:24You don't get a chance to do what the NHL did and, and, and
- 44:28draw the balls in front of the cameras.
- 44:30No, they have a closed door with 18 tested ball sections where
- 44:37you can have multiple or hundreds of different ways to
- 44:41calculate who goes 12345. I mean, it's so weird.
- 44:47It's so different. It's like you have to be a
- 44:49scientific month. You know, I, I don't know
- 44:52astronaut to understand how the NBA is picking these balls.
- 44:57It's a big problem with the protected and unprotected
- 45:00because what does it mean? Oh, so I'm going to trade the
- 45:04pick. But guess what?
- 45:06I'm protecting it. If if, if it's not if, if I'm
- 45:10not drafting, if if I'm not as bad and I'm not drafting in the
- 45:14top five, anything after the top five, you can get the pick.
- 45:17That's what that's what these teams are doing.
- 45:18I'm trying to spit it out because I'm trying to think on
- 45:20how I want to as a as AGM or as a as a coach.
- 45:26I'm looking at how the NBA is working this.
- 45:29How does this make sense? So I'm going to trade a
- 45:33superstar player on my team, but I'll give you 2 first round
- 45:37draft picks, but they're protected first round draft
- 45:40picks. So if I'm a bad team next year,
- 45:45even with that superstar player and I, I, I'm a lottery pick and
- 45:50I fall into the top five, I get to I get to pick that pick no
- 45:54matter what. How is that fair?
- 45:59It doesn't make any sense. And then I understand the bird
- 46:02right situation on obviously keeping players.
- 46:06I understand why the NBA did it and why they do it.
- 46:09Get rid of it. Get rid of it.
- 46:15It's not helping the game. And as like I said as a Knicks
- 46:18fan, how many times as a Knicks fan have we seen the Knicks be
- 46:23one of the worst five teams in the NBA?
- 46:25We've seen it for in the last 25 years, at least 10 or 12 times
- 46:30in that stint. And I'm going to tell you this
- 46:35right now, I'm going to need a stint after watching this happen
- 46:40year in and year out. Teams like the Knicks getting
- 46:42screwed because they trade players because they don't need
- 46:45them anymore and they're not going to win with those players.
- 46:47And they try to to build on first round draft picks.
- 46:50And then after the fact that the Knicks traded McHale bridge,
- 46:53traded for McHale Bridges and give up five first round draft
- 46:56picks that are probably going to mean nothing, nothing.
- 46:59And it went to the Nets. Knicks fans are jumping off a
- 47:02bridge. Why would you give up all those
- 47:04picks? We can get Giannis really.
- 47:09If you think that Milwaukee's going to want a bottom feeding
- 47:13third like 28th pick, 27th pick in the next 5 or every other
- 47:18five years, you're out of your damn mind.
- 47:21I would rather OG and Anobi or McHale bridges in a package.
- 47:28That's what I think is the problem.
- 47:29It has nothing to do with like tanking.
- 47:32I know Adam Silver wants to believe it when we all know
- 47:35everybody and their mother knows that it's bull crap.
- 47:39The NBA draft is is not a lottery.
- 47:43It's who do I have to pay under the table to get that pick?
- 47:48What do I got to do to get and Adam Silver and his bunch of
- 47:52goons, He get me a top three pick every time The Knicks had
- 47:56a, you know, anywhere close to a top three pick, they had RJ
- 47:59Barrett that the only way they were going to get a superstar
- 48:02player is if they drafted at one and two.
- 48:04It was never this deep where if the Knicks were in a top five or
- 48:07top six, they were getting a stud.
- 48:10Never. This is the best draft we've
- 48:12seen since the LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony draft.
- 48:16Do we remember who was in that draft?
- 48:18Dwyane Wade, Remember that Chris Bosh, that was one of the
- 48:23greatest drafts of all time. A lot of people compare this
- 48:25draft to that type of draft. But to say that the fact that
- 48:30Adam Silva, out of all the things Adam Silva can talk about
- 48:35the political views of these players, why are they?
- 48:37If I was at the media day or at the All Star game, I would be
- 48:42saying, hey, Adam, why haven't you controlled these players on
- 48:46what they say on your platform, on the NBA's platform?
- 48:50It is not their platform. Colin Kaepernick lost it.
- 48:54He lost his career. I'm not saying that I agree what
- 48:57Colin Kaepernick did, but because Colin Kaepernick used
- 49:00the NF LS platform to do what he did, kneeling down on on the
- 49:05American flag, he never played another day of football again.
- 49:10He had the whole league doing it.
- 49:14So Adam Silver, my question to you is, all right, you think
- 49:19these teams are tanking? That's fine.
- 49:22You think they're taking to get the future lottery pick, super
- 49:26stud in the NBA when we don't even know what these lottery
- 49:30picks are going to be. How many great players that
- 49:32we've seen get drafted, not turned into anything?
- 49:35A lot of them in the NBAI can name a bunch of them that the
- 49:3976ers have drafted, the Lakers have drafted over the years, the
- 49:44Phoenix Suns. A lot of these guys don't turn
- 49:48into crap. So there's no guarantees.
- 49:52So let me ask you this question. Why do you let the players run
- 49:56your league? Why are the players have more of
- 49:59a voice than your own owners? Do?
- 50:03The guys that are paying these guys salaries, which are
- 50:06ridiculous by the way, Think about it.
- 50:10You have guys that are injured. Think about, I'm thinking about
- 50:14just thinking about players getting hurt.
- 50:18These guys, some of these guys. Paul George has been hurt how
- 50:21many times he's played, what, 160 games in three years?
- 50:25I don't even know. I don't even have the number.
- 50:26But he's played like 160 games in three years.
- 50:31Out of 82 games every single year, he's making close to $50
- 50:35million. How does an organization give a
- 50:41guy that barely plays answer that question?
- 50:46How is that fair? Contracts are guaranteed.
- 50:50Maybe the NBA needs to figure out what the new CBA is.
- 50:53If you don't play a certain amount of games, you don't get
- 50:55that full contract. That would make sense.
- 50:58That would mean something to me. I just, I don't understand why
- 51:02out of all the things you could talk about, how about why is the
- 51:05All Star game so goddamn boring? Why is it so dumb?
- 51:10Why are these players even invited?
- 51:12I'd bring, I would bring bench players to come and play these
- 51:15games. They'd be more interesting to
- 51:16watch. I would like to watch Miles
- 51:19McBride or somebody like that. Guys that are going to go up and
- 51:22down the corner, actually play defense, actually play the game,
- 51:25actually show people that he wants to be in the game.
- 51:28Not guys like I, I don't know, Anthony Edwards that's dancing
- 51:33and prancing around doing tomahawk jams because nobody's
- 51:35defending him. Or James Harding hopscotching to
- 51:38the hole because he doesn't know how to dribble.
- 51:41It's a big problem. The problems right now in the
- 51:44NBA doesn't lie in tanking. The problems with the NBA is
- 51:48these, these rules, these different things that they
- 51:51brought in to the implemented end of the game of basketball or
- 51:54brought into the game of basketball.
- 51:56That's pathetic. Pathetic.
- 52:01That's what bothers me about the NBA.
- 52:05That's what it is. Stop this crap Adam.
- 52:10You know you, you should have became the CEO of Disney.
- 52:13Maybe we don't have to see your ugly face for the rest of our
- 52:16time watching this game of basketball.
- 52:18Ask ask me this question. Why is the NBA regular season in
- 52:23most fans faces or folks most fan podcasting fans that listen
- 52:28to podcast? Why is the NBA not important in
- 52:31the regular season? That's my question because I
- 52:36will tell you this, besides the die hard, you know, basketball
- 52:40fan or sports fan, most fans in the regular season are not
- 52:44watching more than 20 games. Nobody gives a crap unless
- 52:47you're a die hard Knick fan, which I am.
- 52:49I'm not going to watch all 82 games, but I'm going to watch
- 52:51it. Maybe every single game.
- 52:53I'll watch 1/2, but it's it's unwatchable.
- 52:58Sometimes guys don't play defense.
- 53:03Players don't start playing until the last five weeks of the
- 53:06season going into the playoffs. It's pathetic.
- 53:11That's why I like watching OK C. If you ask me my true opinion,
- 53:15teams that really play hard every single game, teams like OK
- 53:18CI. Don't think there's anything
- 53:23more than what I have said that I would bring up.
- 53:27I would bring up right now the trade as far as the draft is
- 53:32concerned. I could care less tanking or not
- 53:34tanking. I care more.
- 53:36I care more about right now. Why are these protected and
- 53:41unprotected picks actually still involved in the NBA?
- 53:45If you're going to trade a pick, you trade the pick, even if
- 53:48you're a bad team the next year. If I'm giving you a superstar
- 53:52I'm and you're trading me your first round draft pick at the
- 53:54end of the season or the year after, I should get it.
- 53:57No matter how bad you are, if it's you turn out to be the
- 54:00number one pick, oh, so be it. You traded it.
- 54:03Yeah, I they've always had an issue with that because I think
- 54:06you look at the year to year basis that how much they could
- 54:09be spread out with the picks, which I think the NHL philosophy
- 54:11is a lot better. You have a conditional pick.
- 54:13Like we talked about the Rangers a few weeks ago.
- 54:15A third round pick can become a second round pick in this
- 54:17condition. A second round pick can become a
- 54:19first round pick. We've seen that before or we've
- 54:21seen kind of pick swaps. If you get it, you if you want
- 54:24to pick a first round pick, then you can the other team gets it
- 54:26the next year. That's what happened with Ottawa
- 54:28and Colorado. Ottawa got Brady Kachuk out of
- 54:30that and then Colorado I believe got a Bowen Byram.
- 54:33You were at that draft in 2019. That was a pick swap of year to
- 54:37year type thing. And Colorado could have easily
- 54:38gotten like Jack Hughes or something like that if they if
- 54:41it happened to be in their favor.
- 54:43That's the model the NBA should take and not have these teams
- 54:46get backstashed so many picks and that's the biggest problem.
- 54:49I think the second biggest problem is the other thing you
- 54:51mentioned the bias. I think The Mavericks should not
- 54:53be gifted a number one pick because they made the worst
- 54:56trade arguably in NBA history. And we've seen it with other
- 54:59teams too. The Pelicans have gotten, oh,
- 55:00they trade Anthony Davis. No, we'll still help you the
- 55:02next year. The Pelicans got Anthony Davis
- 55:04in 2012 after losing Chris Paul. And I think those types of
- 55:08cases, they have to figure out how to get more balance in that
- 55:10because there's other teams, the Knicks being included.
- 55:12Phoenix, another one you mentioned they got DeAndre
- 55:15Ayton, but how many years did they get the number 4 or #5 pick
- 55:17when they had top three odds? That's why this percentage
- 55:19system is still very flawed. And if a gay, if a team like
- 55:23let's say all the five of those teams that you listed are
- 55:25clustered, all of them win in the low 20s.
- 55:29Like why should the three and four be that big of a drop off
- 55:31compared to the the one and the two and the three all getting
- 55:35the same? All those teams should have a
- 55:37similar number. That's why I proposed this a
- 55:39while ago. It should just be based on games
- 55:41back. Let's say the lowest win team
- 55:43wins 21 games, then the first team out of the playoffs wins 38
- 55:47or something like that. Do 17.
- 55:49Do a system like that of similar odds, 17 ping pong balls all
- 55:53differentiated. Who cares about the ping pong
- 55:55balls? I don't think it means anything
- 55:57because we they already know who's going to win.
- 56:00They know who they're going to give the second pick to.
- 56:02I don't think that has anything to do with it.
- 56:04I think the problem right now lies really what I think the
- 56:09media should have brought up is the protected and non
- 56:11unprotected type of picks. I think that's the most.
- 56:15Errol I, I disagree a little bit.
- 56:17I, I think it's more like the quality of the game gets
- 56:19destroyed when they do this. It's not about the lottery.
- 56:22I don't really care about the lottery either.
- 56:23I don't care about the envelopes being frozen or the ping pong
- 56:26balls in the percentages. That's not really what it is.
- 56:29It's like, take a look at what happened to Washington, though.
- 56:31Washington traded for Anthony Davis, traded for Trey Young.
- 56:35They ain't going to play this year.
- 56:37Alex Saar is out too. He's like, they're only halfway
- 56:40decent guy going on right now. I guess champagne.
- 56:42He was in a dunk contest. He's OK Keyshawn George Nicks
- 56:46draft pick I believe as well. He's not bad as well as a 2
- 56:50guard. They're bad.
- 56:51They're trying to get a below then top eight pick.
- 56:55They may if they tried to compete, be a top eight team.
- 56:58But if they don't that protection now the Knicks don't
- 57:02get that pick from them. So if it falls as #9 the Knicks
- 57:06will get it. But this is a big time draft.
- 57:07Like you said, if you get a top ten that could be an All Star in
- 57:10this draft. So they're intentionally,
- 57:13intentionally tanking and they have guys.
- 57:16Look, Anthony Davis is banged up.
- 57:17Is he out for the season though? He's not.
- 57:19He could play. Trey Young has an MCL that's a
- 57:22six to eight week injury. Is he out for the season?
- 57:24No, he could play. Is he going to?
- 57:26No, he's probably not. And if he does, it's going to be
- 57:29in limited minutes and then they'll shut him down anyway.
- 57:31Fish. To put in perspective, Jaren
- 57:33Jackson in previous years would not have been able to be traded
- 57:36if he had that bad of an injury. Then, coincidentally, the second
- 57:39game he plays with Utah, he leaves the game in the third
- 57:41quarter. Now he's out for the season.
- 57:42It's like a like a lottery ticket for Danny Ainge, right?
- 57:45Like, like he knew he was like, oh, this is perfect.
- 57:47This is how I'm going to beat the cap this year.
- 57:49You know, and that's the thing. That's why I have a problem with
- 57:52the tanking because I just think it and then like you got at the
- 57:55end of the season Arrow. Are we watching regular season
- 57:58basketball when there's three to five games left?
- 58:00This guy's from the YMCA getting 5 minutes out there because they
- 58:03don't want to win. They don't want to win.
- 58:06They want to have the worst odds.
- 58:08Maybe that's why you get rid of the lottery.
- 58:10Maybe the odds are a waste of time.
- 58:11Maybe just get rid of it because it's a waste of time.
- 58:14But other than that, like I agree with you, I don't think
- 58:17it's the ping pong balls. I just think if you make the
- 58:19game suck because you're trying to lose, who wants to watch
- 58:23that? Who wants to pay big money back?
- 58:24Do you know how many times they screwed the New York Knicks?
- 58:27How many times has the NBA screwed the New York Knicks?
- 58:29And the one time the Knicks got the pic that they wanted and
- 58:33Patrick Ewing, they iced the envelope, as everybody says, oh,
- 58:37they cheated. They cheated.
- 58:38We don't know if that story is true, but that's what
- 58:40everybody's assuming what happened.
- 58:42David Stern has never come out. May he rest at peace ever come
- 58:46out and say, oh, that's the truth, that that really did
- 58:48happen. But that's what every single
- 58:51writers assuming happened. And again, going back to my
- 58:55thought, Utah, I can't stand Danny Ainge.
- 58:57If I could smack the crap out of Danny Ainge, if I get a chance
- 59:01to interview him face to face, I'd smack the you know what out
- 59:03of him. Because how many times, how many
- 59:06times have we seen Danny Ainge just stick it to the New York
- 59:09Knicks? He loved pissing off the New
- 59:11York Knicks fans and for the for the years that he was running
- 59:14that Celtic organization and he's good.
- 59:16He's a good GM, He's a good executive.
- 59:18He knows the game of basketball. One of the things that he's
- 59:21always stuck out to being is one of the thorns in the New York
- 59:25Knicks's ass. That's why the Knicks and why
- 59:27Jaylen Brown can't stand losing against the Knicks.
- 59:30Because one of the things and one of the reasons why Danny
- 59:33Ainge drafted a guy like Jaylen Brown was against, you know, to
- 59:37play against those New York Knick teams that he wanted to
- 59:40stick it to. I'm just telling you the truth.
- 59:42Jaylen Brown can't stand the Knicks.
- 59:44Out of all the teams that the Celtics play against, when they
- 59:46lose against the Knicks, Jaylen Brown play when the Knicks just
- 59:50beat him and just tortured the the Celtics recently, they had a
- 59:54players team meeting after the game.
- 59:56Why? Because they lost against the
- 59:58Knicks. It's not because the Knicks are
- 1:00:00a good team. It's not because the
- 1:00:01organization actually knows what they're doing.
- 1:00:03No, it's because the Celtics lost against the oh, the lonely
- 1:00:08New York Knicks. My problem here with the NBA is
- 1:00:11pretty. Pretty strict, I think that this
- 1:00:13protected and unprotected pick, look, if the Wizards, this is my
- 1:00:17opinion, if if this unprotected and protected picks weren't
- 1:00:20around, the Knicks would have the Wizards pick.
- 1:00:23So what are the Wizards going to try to do?
- 1:00:24They're going to try to win because they want to screw the
- 1:00:27Knicks. But right now, because the
- 1:00:29Knicks only get their pick if it's out of the top 8, they're
- 1:00:33trying to do everything they can to keep their pick.
- 1:00:36That's the problem guys. That's the problem.
- 1:00:39It has nothing to do with the lottery and choking up and and
- 1:00:44trying to find a way to get a higher pick.
- 1:00:47You know what's going to be funny?
- 1:00:48And I'm going to I'm going to predict this.
- 1:00:50The Jazz, the Pacers and the Wizards don't get a top three
- 1:00:53pick. I'm going to predict it today
- 1:00:56that all three of those teams, because they're choking, watch
- 1:01:00the NBA screwball. All three of those teams watch
- 1:01:04it because I believe it's going to happen.
- 1:01:06If it happens, I'm I'm going to tell you guys it wasn't a
- 1:01:08Kowinky dink. I'm going to say it.
- 1:01:11Oh, that I was right. I was right again.
- 1:01:13Told you guys told you so I. Think we're pulling for the Nets
- 1:01:16to get the number one pick, yeah.
- 1:01:17I'm rooting for the Nets. Why not?
- 1:01:20I know a lot of Knicks fans don't want to see the Nets get a
- 1:01:22lottery pick, but I'm rooting for them.
- 1:01:24Who wouldn't want to see Cam Boozer over there?
- 1:01:26That's true. I mean, I would love to see it.
- 1:01:28I don't care if he's if he's playing for the Brooklyn Nets.
- 1:01:32It only tells me that when he becomes a free agent, it'll be a
- 1:01:34Knick. Just sit courtside and see if
- 1:01:36you could tell Cam Boozer now you're playing for a good coach.
- 1:01:38I love Shire. I love anybody that comes from
- 1:01:41the Duke Blue Devils. I love them.
- 1:01:42I love them. Cams and Bob telling every
- 1:01:45single fan, remember I said this?
- 1:01:46Cam Boozer is the best player coming out of this draft.
- 1:01:49Remember I said this, He's the best player coming out of this
- 1:01:52draft. Book it, seal it, deliver it,
- 1:01:55and spread your cheeks, speedy. Because I'm not doing that.
- 1:01:58I'll do something anyways. I'm nothing do that.
- 1:02:04I want to hit it. Somebody's going to hit it.
- 1:02:06A lot of hot ladies, nothing knows it.
- 1:02:08Do you want to jerk me off? Anyways, Ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:02:11we call this the Golf Clap of the Week.
- 1:02:15This deserves a golf clap. No doubt.
- 1:02:18Golf clap. Golf clap and my golf clap goes
- 1:02:23to or my golf clap or golf clap goes to Tyree Kill, ladies and
- 1:02:28gentlemen, because the one and only Tyree Kill is a free agent.
- 1:02:34He's off to go where he wants as Miami decided to release him
- 1:02:40after that horrible injury this past year.
- 1:02:43A horrible Watching his knee just like completely buckle the
- 1:02:46way he did it was disgusting. A lot of people think that maybe
- 1:02:49Tyree Kill won't be the same, but something tells me the
- 1:02:51cheetah will be back next year. I don't know what full strength
- 1:02:55but about 95% and a 95% tyree kill is better than most 100%
- 1:03:01wide receivers. So let's think, where could
- 1:03:05Tyree Kill go in free agency this offseason?
- 1:03:08Well, there's two teams that really stand out from all the
- 1:03:12rest, ladies and gentlemen, and that is the Kansas City Chiefs,
- 1:03:16the LA Chargers, and there's a lot of reasons why I would look
- 1:03:20at the Chargers as the front runner to get him one.
- 1:03:24Mike McDaniel is there and he played pretty well in that
- 1:03:27offense #2 that team with that offensive line is going to be
- 1:03:31elite. Justin Herbert #3 and Jim
- 1:03:34Harbaugh, since he has come back to the NFL 11 or more win
- 1:03:38seasons, back-to-back years. That tells him with all the
- 1:03:42injuries they've had this past year, having almost over eleven
- 1:03:45wins, it tells me Super Bowl, Super Bowl, Super Bowl as they
- 1:03:49might be my surprise Super Bowl contender out of the AFCI.
- 1:03:54Don't know. I know we have Dylan Lobby
- 1:03:55coming on. I don't know if he'll get.
- 1:03:57You just named 2 AFC West teams. I'm just saying I'm just saying
- 1:04:01they're going to look pretty damn good.
- 1:04:03I I think Slater and all coming back and with that offensive
- 1:04:06line and and with the ability for they're going to have in the
- 1:04:10offseason with the money they're going to have to spend.
- 1:04:12I think they're in a driver's seat.
- 1:04:13But yeah, my my Golf Club of the day goes to Miami one they they
- 1:04:18let go of the big mouth Tyree kill.
- 1:04:20And I don't know if it if it benefits them or hurts them.
- 1:04:23What it does benefit, it benefits maybe Kansas City
- 1:04:25because they're going to be looking for a #1 wide receiver
- 1:04:28as Patch Mahomes is going to lose one of his big targets and
- 1:04:31Travis Kelsey, who hasn't announced retirement, but it
- 1:04:34seems like he is off to the wizard as are actually he's
- 1:04:39following the yellow brick road to old Taylor Swift's house.
- 1:04:42Hopefully there there's nobody hidden in the pond because
- 1:04:46there's a couple dead bodies found over there.
- 1:04:47Anyways, I'm just saying. Anyways, yeah, my golf clap of
- 1:04:52the day goes to the one and only Tyree kill.
- 1:04:55Enjoy this freedom. Hopefully it's hands them back
- 1:05:00either in the red and whites or maybe I.
- 1:05:04I wouldn't even say it. What are the charges colors
- 1:05:06Blue. Light blue and.
- 1:05:07Blue, orange, yellow, blue, yes, I'm color blind, ladies and
- 1:05:11gentlemen, whatever the colors are.
- 1:05:14Anyways, that's my Golf Club. Thank you to all the fans tuning

- 1:07:57By the way, thank you to Nith for getting us all these guests.
- 1:08:01He is sensational. He's doing such a great job on
- 1:08:03the back end. Our PR manager, he's hopefully
- 1:08:06not playing with himself. He doesn't have anything on the
- 1:08:08wall. So I'm thinking that he's maybe
- 1:08:10in a jail cell or something. I don't know what he's doing
- 1:08:12over there, but I, I like the he sent us a picture of his sofa
- 1:08:16and his nice little, you know, television, his big television
- 1:08:20and all set up. It's like the only thing in that
- 1:08:22room, but nothing's on the wall. There's no pictures.
- 1:08:25Why don't you have a picture of Lisa Ann on the wall?
- 1:08:27I mean, that would be nice. I mean, all that stuff.
- 1:08:30It would be beneficial, beneficial for you to there it
- 1:08:33is maybe a Shudor Sanders picture, you know, maybe you
- 1:08:36know him wearing a Speedo or something like that.
- 1:08:39That would be cool. You know, you know, a San
- 1:08:41Francisco 49ers, you know, Speedo because he might be the
- 1:08:45fourth string quarterback before you know it over there like Kyle
- 1:08:48Shanahan or whoever is going to be coaching that team in the
- 1:08:50near future might be Deon Sanders at this race.
- 1:08:53Deon Sanders, But here we go. No, no, no, no.
- 1:08:57Oh, there it is. There he is.
