Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Now on The Voice of New York, it's the Mark
- 0:04Speaker 1: Simone Show on 710WOR.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Well, it's out of weight, don't I? Not really. Still
- 0:14Speaker 2: not used to this 9 o'clock. Yeah, we start at
- 0:16Speaker 2: 9 now. It's 3 hours, 9 to noon. So I'm
- 0:19Speaker 2: out in the hallway there trying to get some sympathy
- 0:21Speaker 2: for having to get up so early and be here
- 0:22Speaker 2: at 9. And then I realize it's Charlemagne. It's Jim Kerr.
- 0:26Speaker 2: These guys get here at 5 a.m. I was getting
- 0:29Speaker 2: no sympathy from anybody. But we've got three hours to
- 0:33Speaker 2: give you all kinds of great stuff. We've got lots
- 0:34Speaker 2: of stuff to get to today. There's more on Dolly Parton.
- 0:39Speaker 2: We'll get to President Trump. We'll get to quite a
- 0:42Speaker 2: battle now going between Bruce Blakeman and Kathy Hochul. We'll
- 0:46Speaker 2: get to Meta, Facebook, that big settlement they made. It's
- 0:49Speaker 2: pretty interesting. We'll get to crazy Jill Biden.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Doing one of those podcasts, you know, when you're a,
- 0:56Speaker 2: a lying rotten, uh, type of person, you should not
- 1:00Speaker 2: do a podcast where you got to talk for an
- 1:01Speaker 2: hour and a half. Cause you'll really, you'll really get exposed, uh,
- 1:05Speaker 2: on something like that. Dolly Parton, the tributes continue from
- 1:09Speaker 2: all over the world. Uh, even the Royal family, even
- 1:15Speaker 2: Buckingham palace, you know, those guys with the big hats
- 1:18Speaker 2: that never smile on the red coats and the, uh,
- 1:21Speaker 2: Long trumpets. Well, even they paid tribute to Dolly Parton. Oh,
- 1:28Speaker 2: we need the next gen. Wait, hang on. Even they
- 1:31Speaker 2: paid tribute to Dolly Parton. All right, I don't know
- 2:04Speaker 2: what kind of tribute that is, but they meant well.
- 2:06Speaker 2: It sounds like one of those bad marching bands at
- 2:09Speaker 2: a college football game, screwing up a popular hit. But
- 2:13Speaker 2: everybody thinking about Dolly Parton. Now, let me just give
- 2:16Speaker 2: you an important Dolly Parton lesson. We have a lot
- 2:21Speaker 2: of famous people that listen, a lot of famous celebrities,
- 2:24Speaker 2: TV people, comedians. You don't want to end up like
- 2:27Speaker 2: Stephen Colbert, where you alienate half of America and they
- 2:31Speaker 2: throw you the hell off the air after a while.
- 2:35Speaker 2: She stayed away from politics. I mean, really away. You know,
- 2:38Speaker 2: the Clintons, when Clinton whispered, they wanted her to come,
- 2:41Speaker 2: not campaign, just come be at an event. She just
- 2:45Speaker 2: wouldn't go near any politicians, any presidents. She stayed away
- 2:49Speaker 2: from politics. So in an interview... The guy tried to
- 2:53Speaker 2: ask her a political question. Now listen to how she
- 2:56Speaker 2: handled it. This is what you should do.
- 2:58Speaker 4: We have a president of the United States who said those.
- 2:59Speaker 2: This is when Trump was president.
- 3:01Speaker 4: We have a president of the United States who said
- 3:03Speaker 4: those things on that bus.
- 3:04Speaker 5: I'm not addressing that. I do not get into that.
- 3:08Speaker 5: Of course I have my opinion about everybody and everything.
- 3:11Speaker 5: But I learned a long time ago, keep your damn
- 3:13Speaker 5: mouth shut if you want to stay in show business.
- 3:15Speaker 5: I'm not in politics. I'm an entertainer.
- 3:18Speaker 4: And yet you're also a role model.
- 3:19Speaker 6: Yes, I am.
- 3:20Speaker 5: That's why I don't... talk about people. So if you
- 3:23Speaker 5: are deciding you may want to ask me something more serious, don't,
- 3:26Speaker 5: because I'm not going.
- 3:27Speaker 7: To answer it. Fair warning, I might still ask.
- 3:30Speaker 5: Well, you can ask, but I might still tell you
- 3:32Speaker 5: where to put it.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Okay, perfect. Doesn't talk about politics. She's not in politics.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Doesn't talk about it. That's why she had such a
- 3:40Speaker 2: long and glorious career. And that's why there were the
- 3:43Speaker 2: most incredible tributes to her. And everybody has nothing but
- 3:46Speaker 2: wonderful memories of her. She didn't divide America. She just
- 3:50Speaker 2: was Perfect on that subject. And the other celebrity death is,
- 3:55Speaker 2: you know, they always claim, see, they all die in threes.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Look at that. They all die in threes. There's absolutely
- 4:00Speaker 2: no truth to that. It's a simple magic trick. You
- 4:04Speaker 2: just wait till any three people die. And then you go,
- 4:06Speaker 2: look at that. They die in threes. You got to
- 4:10Speaker 2: have a timeline on that. The third was like a
- 4:13Speaker 2: week ago. So you got to have, it's got to be,
- 4:18Speaker 2: if it's three in one day, okay, that's they die
- 4:20Speaker 2: in threes. Or you could say it's got to be
- 4:23Speaker 2: in one week, but they just wait till three die
- 4:25Speaker 2: and say, that's it, they die in three. So the
- 4:27Speaker 2: other death was Tim Curry. I'd like to say a
- 4:32Speaker 2: lot about Tim Curry, but I got to be honest,
- 4:35Speaker 2: I'm not a big Tim Curry fan. He was good
- 4:40Speaker 2: in Rocky Horror Show. He was a very good Broadway performer.
- 4:44Speaker 2: It was not somebody I would go out of my
- 4:48Speaker 2: way to see. It was not... I remember a couple
- 4:51Speaker 2: of times through the years, he was a guest on
- 4:53Speaker 2: the show I was doing, and if you had to
- 4:56Speaker 2: interview him for 10 minutes, it was a painful 10 minutes.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I mean, you try to do 10 minutes with Tim Curry.
- 5:03Speaker 2: But a nice guy, and of course, Rocky Horror Show
- 5:05Speaker 2: was such a phenomenon.
- 5:07Speaker 8: I'm just a sweet transvestite from transsexual Transylvania.
- 5:19Speaker 2: You can sort of get the idea why I was
- 5:20Speaker 2: not a big fan of this music. It was not.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Why don't you stay for the night?
- 5:29Speaker 9: Maybe a bite.
- 5:31Speaker 4: I could show you my favorite obsession.
- 5:35Speaker 10: I've been making a man.
- 5:37Speaker 2: All right. Now, I think, is this Natalie? I think
- 5:42Speaker 2: she went out in the street and asked people. I
- 5:43Speaker 2: didn't fear death. No, that's Tim Curry talking. This is interesting.
- 5:47Speaker 11: I didn't fear death. I try to avoid it, as
- 5:53Speaker 11: I think we all do. But I suspect that in
- 5:57Speaker 11: the end, I will welcome it.
- 5:59Speaker 2: All right. Not the funniest guy in the world, but again,
- 6:02Speaker 2: a nice guy. And we're sorry to see him go.
- 6:05Speaker 2: But the Rocky Horror Picture Show, that was a big deal,
- 6:08Speaker 2: staying up all night. You had to be really drugged
- 6:11Speaker 2: up to actually love the Rocky Horror Picture Show. uh
- 6:16Speaker 2: here are just people that i think this is natalie
- 6:18Speaker 2: migliore he went out and just asked people for their.
- 6:20Speaker 12: Reaction he was so diverse but i think he was
- 6:23Speaker 12: just in such iconic films from our child my childhood grew.
- 6:27Speaker 13: Up in ohio we used to go to the midnight
- 6:29Speaker 13: showings rocky or a picture show.
- 6:31Speaker 14: Tim curry uh is just like a once in a
- 6:34Speaker 14: lifetime performer.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Thank goodness uh anyway um I got to be honest,
- 6:40Speaker 2: I never once went to the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
- 6:42Speaker 2: The closest I came, again, was having to interview him
- 6:44Speaker 2: a few times when that was hot. And it was
- 6:47Speaker 2: a struggle to fill 10 minutes with that guy, but
- 6:49Speaker 2: a nice guy. He was always a very, very nice guy. So, hey,
- 6:53Speaker 2: the lawsuit was a massive lawsuit. Many attorneys general, I
- 6:59Speaker 2: think it was 29 states got in on this because
- 7:02Speaker 2: they were suing Facebook. The company's called Meta. They were
- 7:05Speaker 2: going after Meta. And why were these, if you're the
- 7:10Speaker 2: attorney general, why would you join in and get it? Well,
- 7:12Speaker 2: because Meta's got like a trillion dollars. There's a lot
- 7:16Speaker 2: of money there. They smelled blood. More importantly, they smelled money.
- 7:20Speaker 2: So they're suing Meta like crazy. And then it was
- 7:24Speaker 2: announced that all of a sudden, as this trial's going,
- 7:27Speaker 2: it was announced yesterday that Meta Facebook would settle. They
- 7:32Speaker 2: would settle. They offered an $ 18 billion settlement. And you
- 7:37Speaker 2: might say, oh my God, $ 18 billion. It sounds like
- 7:42Speaker 2: a big amount. Mark Zuckerberg could find that much if
- 7:46Speaker 2: you look through his sofa cushions. It's nothing. It's nothing
- 7:51Speaker 2: to them. You know, they make, in revenue, they make
- 7:54Speaker 2: $ 165 billion a year. $ 18 billion is pocket change. And
- 8:00Speaker 2: in the settlement, they don't have to pay $ 18 billion.
- 8:03Speaker 2: They pay 7% now. They pay a little every year,
- 8:06Speaker 2: and of course it's a write-off. It'll cost them absolutely nothing. Now,
- 8:12Speaker 2: where does this $ 18 billion go? Well, a lot of
- 8:15Speaker 2: lawyers will collect a lot of fees on this. These
- 8:20Speaker 2: various attorneys general all are bragging, we've done it, we've
- 8:24Speaker 2: brought them to their knees, they're going to do this,
- 8:26Speaker 2: they're going to do that. The problem is they kept
- 8:29Speaker 2: saying the algorithm was addicting kids. Well, By the way,
- 8:34Speaker 2: part of the settlement, Facebook doesn't have to change the
- 8:38Speaker 2: algorithm in any way, which seemed to me was the
- 8:40Speaker 2: whole point of the lawsuit. They don't have to change it.
- 8:43Speaker 2: But Facebook came up with a whole list of things
- 8:45Speaker 2: they'll do, which don't amount to much. They all sound good.
- 8:49Speaker 2: We're going to have nighttime blocks on the app. So
- 8:52Speaker 2: you won't be able to use it after a certain hour.
- 8:55Speaker 2: We're going to have enhanced age assurance measures. Pfft. to
- 9:01Speaker 2: ensure underage... They just came up with all these titles
- 9:04Speaker 2: and all these names, and it sounds good. We'll have
- 9:06Speaker 2: additional tools to help parents and guardians protect their children
- 9:12Speaker 2: as part of what was described as a consent judgment.
- 9:14Speaker 2: So these guys act like they got a victory from META.
- 9:18Speaker 2: They got $ 18 billion. That's pretty good. META did not
- 9:22Speaker 2: admit to any wrongdoing as part of the settlement. Now,
- 9:26Speaker 2: the settlement's pending court approval And by the way, these
- 9:30Speaker 2: product changes don't apply to WhatsApp. Meta owns all this stuff.
- 9:35Speaker 2: These changes don't apply to WhatsApp, Messenger, or the AI chatbots. Now,
- 9:42Speaker 2: and this is only a 10-year truce. They're only going
- 9:44Speaker 2: to do this stuff for 10 years. This is the
- 9:47Speaker 2: biggest settlement ever from a tech company. The biggest one
- 9:50Speaker 2: before was also Meta, $ 5 billion to the FTC in 2019.
- 9:53Speaker 2: The Meta stock is up. because everybody thinks this is
- 10:00Speaker 2: a good thing for them. They got out of this easy.
- 10:03Speaker 2: $ 18 billion is just pocket change. The different attorney generals
- 10:07Speaker 2: in various states all bragging about what they got.
- 10:10Speaker 15: The company will create an enhanced mechanism for teens to
- 10:13Speaker 15: report potentially harmful content and has agreed to respond to 90%
- 10:18Speaker 15: of those reports within.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Six hours.
- 10:21Speaker 12: All right.
- 10:21Speaker 2: There's already a mechanism to report something you don't like.
- 10:25Speaker 15: This is a major breakthrough, a milestone moment, a watershed moment,
- 10:30Speaker 15: because when it.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Comes to protecting our children's mental health, there is no
- 10:37Speaker 2: time to lose.
- 10:38Speaker 15: Instead of getting tied up in years of trials and appeals,
- 10:41Speaker 15: we have secured the changes we were after.
- 10:44Speaker 2: There you go. Nobody knows what these changes are.
- 10:47Speaker 7: One of the important pieces.
- 10:50Speaker 16: Of this settlement agreement, assuming the court adopts it, is
- 10:53Speaker 16: that there is that ongoing monitoring and audit feature that
- 10:57Speaker 16: we have as states to make sure that we're holding
- 11:00Speaker 16: them accountable and they're doing exactly what they're supposed to do.
- 11:02Speaker 2: There you go. There's an ongoing monitoring. Again, you'll see
- 11:08Speaker 2: nothing change if you're using meta.
- 11:10Speaker 16: The priorities are to make sure that we are remedying
- 11:13Speaker 16: past harm and ensuring that in the future, similar harms
- 11:17Speaker 16: don't take effect. So they will go to programs and
- 11:20Speaker 16: things of that nature.
- 11:21Speaker 2: There you go. They got it done, you see? They've
- 11:24Speaker 2: put in, what the hell do they call it? Enhanced monitoring.
- 11:29Speaker 2: And again, a bunch of titles. It sounds like the
- 11:32Speaker 2: big thing for them is they got $ 18 billion out
- 11:34Speaker 2: of META.
- 11:35Speaker 16: What META is going to do here is... immediately, subject
- 11:39Speaker 16: to the court's approval, of course, of this settlement. But
- 11:41Speaker 16: what they're able to do immediately to start to remedy
- 11:44Speaker 16: these harms is completely groundbreaking.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Okay. These harms. Now, I'm on Facebook. I'm on Instagram.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Meta owns that. I don't think it's harming me. You
- 11:58Speaker 2: do get addicted. It is a little silly that you
- 12:02Speaker 2: start looking. As soon as you wake up, you're looking
- 12:03Speaker 2: at Instagram, scrolling through everything it is kind of silly
- 12:07Speaker 2: but but you know you gotta remember uh when all
- 12:11Speaker 2: this stuff is invented all this new tech and everybody
- 12:14Speaker 2: says it's changing everything it's uh changing people and their
- 12:18Speaker 2: life it really isn't human behavior has been the same
- 12:21Speaker 2: for thousands and thousands and thousands of years it just
- 12:26Speaker 2: moves to a different platform whatever crazy things you're doing
- 12:29Speaker 2: online you were doing them before you're just doing them
- 12:31Speaker 2: online now You know, when the Instagrams, people put up
- 12:35Speaker 2: pictures of their lunch. This is not false. This is
- 12:40Speaker 2: absolutely true. Archaeologists, they're studying hieroglyphics in caves. There were
- 12:46Speaker 2: times where people would put up what they had for lunch.
- 12:48Speaker 2: I mean, this is, again, human behavior, always the same.
- 12:52Speaker 2: It just went digital. That's all. When you wake up, oh,
- 12:56Speaker 2: you're wasting all your time. The kids wasting their time on... Instagram,
- 13:01Speaker 2: TikTok when they wake up, looking at that. You know,
- 13:04Speaker 2: a million years ago, kids, when they woke up, wasted
- 13:06Speaker 2: their time watching Captain Kangaroo or Bozo the Clown or
- 13:10Speaker 2: cartoons or The Three Stooges. They're better off on Instagram
- 13:13Speaker 2: than looking at Mo hit somebody in the face with
- 13:16Speaker 2: a hammer. I mean, it's much better nowadays. There's actually
- 13:21Speaker 2: more going on on Instagram. You actually learn a lot
- 13:23Speaker 2: of things. You learn about here's a new restaurant, here's
- 13:25Speaker 2: a new this, here's a new that. It's a lot
- 13:28Speaker 2: better than Moe with his two fingers poking the guy
- 13:31Speaker 2: in the eyes. Anyway, we've got a lot to get to.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman had a great press conference yesterday. So Kathy Hochul,
- 13:41Speaker 2: her and the legislature passed this crazy, stupid law that
- 13:46Speaker 2: local places, towns, counties are not allowed to cooperate with ICE.
- 13:52Speaker 2: So if you've got a gang member, a murderer, a rapist,
- 13:55Speaker 2: a robber, The illegal alien running around your town and
- 13:59Speaker 2: ICE wants to get him. You can't help. You have
- 14:02Speaker 2: to stay on the sidelines. Blakeman, this is going to
- 14:05Speaker 2: be a big campaign issue. Now, Hochul, why is she
- 14:08Speaker 2: being such a left-wing kook? Because she's trying to get reelected.
- 14:12Speaker 2: She's trying to keep the Mamdani crowd happy because you
- 14:16Speaker 2: can't get elected governor unless you win at least 35%
- 14:18Speaker 2: in New York City. So she needs his backing. That's
- 14:22Speaker 2: why she's doing this. But Blakeman yesterday went after her.
- 14:25Speaker 17: This is one of the saddest days of my life
- 14:28Speaker 17: as county executive. That because of this terrible and bad
- 14:34Speaker 17: law that we have to adhere to, I know it's
- 14:42Speaker 17: going to make it more dangerous here in Nassau County.
- 14:46Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Now, Blakeman usually does the right thing, stands his ground,
- 14:49Speaker 2: but apparently consulted with all the lawyers and everything. They said,
- 14:52Speaker 2: you've got to follow the law. You can't break the
- 14:54Speaker 2: law here. So even though he's the best with his
- 14:58Speaker 2: county at cooperating with ICE, you know, if you cooperate
- 15:02Speaker 2: and you give them local police and locally blend them,
- 15:04Speaker 2: jail cells, whatever, it makes it a much cleaner, safer
- 15:07Speaker 2: operation for everybody. If you can't get the local police
- 15:11Speaker 2: to help you go arrest somebody. You got to send,
- 15:14Speaker 2: you know, five times as many people and it gets messier.
- 15:17Speaker 2: So but Blakeman had no choice, had to cooperate. This
- 15:20Speaker 2: is Hochul's law that she's bragging about and pushing.
- 15:23Speaker 17: This law is written in the blood of the victims past,
- 15:30Speaker 17: present and future.
- 15:32Speaker 2: And it's going to be a big problem for Hochul.
- 15:35Speaker 2: She's got a debate with him coming up. The campaign
- 15:38Speaker 2: didn't even really start. It starts after Labor Day. She's
- 15:40Speaker 2: going to have to defend this stuff.
- 15:42Speaker 5: I want local police using local taxpayer dollars to focus
- 15:46Speaker 5: on catching local criminals.
- 15:49Speaker 2: That's what this does. When ICE goes after a gang
- 15:53Speaker 2: member or a robber or a rapist or a criminal,
- 15:56Speaker 2: illegal alien, they're local. They're going into a community and
- 16:01Speaker 2: getting your criminals off the street. I mean, If they
- 16:04Speaker 2: don't do it, the police have to do it. And
- 16:07Speaker 2: she should talk about, well, when I'm going after local criminals,
- 16:10Speaker 2: what's the point? Thanks to Cuomo and his no bail,
- 16:13Speaker 2: no jail and these crazy New York DAs, you could
- 16:16Speaker 2: arrest the person. They'll be back on the street in
- 16:18Speaker 2: a half hour. Nobody gets put in jail. Cuomo's no bail,
- 16:23Speaker 2: no jail. Everybody's released immediately. That's why Cuomo created this
- 16:28Speaker 2: crime wave. And if you talk to the NYPD off
- 16:32Speaker 2: the record, they'll tell you it's the same 2,500 criminals
- 16:35Speaker 2: over and over and over again. They know who they are.
- 16:38Speaker 2: If they could lock them up, they could go get
- 16:40Speaker 2: them all in the next week and have them all
- 16:42Speaker 2: off the street. Anyway, we've got a lot more to
- 16:44Speaker 2: get to. You're going to hear, oh, my God, you're
- 16:46Speaker 2: going to love this story from the Hamptons. We'll get
- 16:49Speaker 2: to Tiger Woods. People are a little concerned about him.
- 16:52Speaker 2: We'll get to the Strait of Hormuz. We'll get to Iran, Canada,
- 16:57Speaker 2: and more. Coming up, it's Mark Simone, 9 to noon
- 17:00Speaker 2: every day on 710WOR. Mark Simone.
- 17:05Speaker 12: Mr.
- 17:06Speaker 2: New York.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Now three hours every weekday from 9 to noon on 710WOR.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Well, a lot of rain today. Remember the last time
- 17:17Speaker 2: we had a rain like this, you had flooding and
- 17:18Speaker 2: roads and subways and, you know, a lot of those
- 17:21Speaker 2: places where you can get real flooded with very heavy rain,
- 17:25Speaker 2: you know, like the Cross Island, the Clearview, the Jersey's
- 17:29Speaker 2: got a lot of these places and a lot of
- 17:32Speaker 2: the parkways. So just keep an eye on that today.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Hopefully the forecast eases up a little before this is
- 17:37Speaker 2: all supposed to happen. One, two o'clock, three o'clock, four o'clock, hopefully.
- 17:43Speaker 2: things ease up before that. We'll see. But just keep
- 17:47Speaker 2: an eye on it, especially if you're going anywhere. This
- 17:51Speaker 2: is a tragic story. I don't mean to upset anybody,
- 17:54Speaker 2: but this is Hampton's tragedy. Now, you know, if you
- 17:57Speaker 2: go out to the Hamptons, you got West Hampton, you
- 17:59Speaker 2: got Quag, you got South Hampton, and it's packed with people.
- 18:05Speaker 2: And these are the people that'll say to you, how
- 18:07Speaker 2: are you? And then if you say, great, how are you? Eh,
- 18:10Speaker 2: I don't know. So, But if you go a little
- 18:14Speaker 2: further out to East Hampton, there still remains pockets of
- 18:20Speaker 2: the old Hamptons. The old, very quiet. You know, we
- 18:23Speaker 2: used to think of the Hamptons. You'd think of Jackie Onassis' family.
- 18:27Speaker 2: You'd think of CZ Guest and the Phipps. Well, they
- 18:33Speaker 2: lost the Hamptons. It's all been taken over. But they
- 18:35Speaker 2: still have a little pocket out there in East Hampton.
- 18:39Speaker 2: You know, this old waspy, old, the 12th generation Hamptons.
- 18:43Speaker 2: So they love the Devon Yacht Club. It's a very
- 18:47Speaker 2: important place to them. The Devon Yacht Club is very, very,
- 18:51Speaker 2: very exclusive. Very few members. And again, I don't want
- 18:56Speaker 2: to upset people. This is a very tragic story. Because
- 19:02Speaker 2: of this HP, HB2, whatever, this visa crackdown. If your visa,
- 19:07Speaker 2: if you don't have a legitimate visa to be in
- 19:09Speaker 2: the country, the federal government, that Trump, they're now cracking
- 19:13Speaker 2: down and rounding up people. Well, they rounded up the
- 19:16Speaker 2: cooks from the Devon Yacht Club kitchen yesterday. They were all,
- 19:22Speaker 2: their visas were revoked and they all have to leave
- 19:24Speaker 2: the country. And again, it's very tragic. I have the
- 19:27Speaker 2: letter right here. It goes, I went out to all
- 19:29Speaker 2: the members. Dear Devon members, we are sorry to inform
- 19:33Speaker 2: you of the immediate cancellation of dinner service tonight and
- 19:38Speaker 2: lunch on Friday. Now, This is a big tragedy out there. Now,
- 19:44Speaker 2: you might say, well, why don't they just go to
- 19:46Speaker 2: a restaurant? Because these are very quiet, old, old hands.
- 19:50Speaker 2: And if they go to a restaurant, you know, and hear,
- 19:54Speaker 2: how are you? And everybody doesn't like the table. We
- 19:58Speaker 2: want to sit over there. We can't sit here. This
- 20:00Speaker 2: table is too small. This table is too close to
- 20:02Speaker 2: the kitchen. All the arguing. They can't deal with that.
- 20:04Speaker 2: They can't. So they may have to actually eat at home.
- 20:07Speaker 2: No word on yet on when they'll reopen the dining
- 20:11Speaker 2: room at the Devon Yacht Club. Oh, there'll be a
- 20:16Speaker 2: limited selection of bar bites Thursday from 5 to 8. Okay, well,
- 20:22Speaker 2: they'll have to make do with a few pigs in
- 20:26Speaker 2: a blanket that were probably bought at the supermarket and microwaved.
- 20:30Speaker 2: But they'll get through it. They'll get through it. Don't worry.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Strait of Hormuz. You know, it's been open. It never closed.
- 20:40Speaker 2: It normally does 20 million barrels of oil a day.
- 20:44Speaker 2: And for all the time it was closed, we were
- 20:46Speaker 2: escorting ships through the southern corridor. That's along the Oman coast.
- 20:49Speaker 2: So they were getting 9 to 10 million barrels a
- 20:52Speaker 2: day through there. So about half the usual amount. And
- 20:54Speaker 2: then they announced two days ago that they've cleared every
- 20:57Speaker 2: last landmine. Not landmine, but mines under the water. So
- 21:02Speaker 2: now it looks like Oman, who is our ally... Sometimes.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Depends what day it is. Sometimes they're our enemy. Sometimes
- 21:09Speaker 2: they're our ally. It's like a weather vane. But Iran
- 21:16Speaker 2: and Oman made some kind of deal yesterday to open
- 21:19Speaker 2: the Strait of Hormuz. They'll share revenue. You'll pay a
- 21:23Speaker 2: fee to go, okay, well, none of this is ever
- 21:24Speaker 2: going to happen. Right now, the United States has total
- 21:27Speaker 2: control of the Strait of Hormuz. Our Navy controls it completely.
- 21:32Speaker 2: And the administration has said they will not allow any fees.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Nobody's getting through anything. If they're paying fees, the Strait
- 21:40Speaker 2: of Hormuz will always be free. First of all, it's
- 21:43Speaker 2: a body of water. It's not owned by anybody. You
- 21:47Speaker 2: can't charge a fee for it. Oman, who knows what
- 21:50Speaker 2: they're up to. Oman also saying that they will now
- 21:53Speaker 2: remove the underwater mines, which is easy for them to
- 21:56Speaker 2: do since we already announced they were already removed. Whatever
- 22:01Speaker 2: they're doing is just to annoy President Trump, which is
- 22:04Speaker 2: never a good idea, by the way, if you're a
- 22:06Speaker 2: world leader. And I guess whoever's running Oman would count
- 22:10Speaker 2: as that. Don't annoy him. This guy loves to fight.
- 22:14Speaker 2: He's a big fighter. He's a bully. I mean, he
- 22:17Speaker 2: is a bully. Listen to the guy from Canada, the premier.
- 22:20Speaker 3: I usually don't use those words, but when your country's
- 22:22Speaker 3: under attack and your province is under attack and this
- 22:25Speaker 3: guy's just nothing but a bully, it resonated around the world.
- 22:29Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 22:31Speaker 2: But you got to bear that in mind. You know,
- 22:34Speaker 2: if you want to yell at somebody or get right
- 22:35Speaker 2: in their face, that's fine. But, you know, I wouldn't
- 22:38Speaker 2: go up to Mike Tyson and start shoving him. Don't
- 22:42Speaker 2: do that. It's the same thing with Trump. Don't challenge
- 22:45Speaker 2: him to a fight. This guy comes to life. He
- 22:48Speaker 2: loves to fight.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Everyone is united. And if there's two great things that
- 22:53Speaker 3: President Trump did for our country, he woke us up,
- 22:56Speaker 3: woke us up real quick. And he's united the country
- 22:59Speaker 3: that I've never seen before.
- 23:01Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 23:02Speaker 4: All right.
- 23:02Speaker 2: I got a lot of friends in Canada. I call
- 23:04Speaker 2: them all day. I say, what do you think? They
- 23:07Speaker 2: don't even know this is going on. I mean, there
- 23:09Speaker 2: are people. It's the same thing with the war in Iran.
- 23:12Speaker 2: You know, there are people, especially in Manhattan, that sit
- 23:14Speaker 2: there and watch MSNBC all day and get themselves all
- 23:17Speaker 2: riled up or CNN. And then they go out to dinner.
- 23:19Speaker 15: What?
- 23:19Speaker 2: The war in Iran. The war in Iran. And then
- 23:22Speaker 2: they don't realize in every focus group polling service. 97%
- 23:27Speaker 2: of America is paying no attention to this. They don't
- 23:29Speaker 2: even think about it. It doesn't mean anything to them.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Even if you do in primary states where they do
- 23:34Speaker 2: the focus group on issues in the election, Iran comes
- 23:38Speaker 2: in like 15th place. Even last night, it was a
- 23:41Speaker 2: war in Iran. What war in Iran? There hasn't been
- 23:43Speaker 2: a shot fired in two months. Nobody's fighting. I mean,
- 23:47Speaker 2: it's a crazy stalemate of a situation, but there's no
- 23:50Speaker 2: war going on. Nobody's shooting at anybody. Nothing's happened. Anyway,
- 23:53Speaker 2: we've got a lot to get to, and we'll also
- 23:56Speaker 2: take some calls a little later on, 800-321-0710. Hey, there's
- 24:02Speaker 2: some crazy Democrats rising up to take on Trump. We'll
- 24:05Speaker 2: get to that more just ahead. It's Mark Simone here,
- 24:09Speaker 2: 9 to noon, three hours every day, 9 to noon
- 24:12Speaker 2: on 710WOR.
- 24:15Speaker 20: Welcome back to the Mark Simone Show.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Hey, the president flies to Texas today. He'll spend two
- 24:27Speaker 2: days in Houston, Texas. There's some sort of big RNC
- 24:32Speaker 2: something tonight. It's for the midterm elections. They're calling it
- 24:36Speaker 2: the RNC engagement. It's like a little mini convention where
- 24:40Speaker 2: they'll all get together and discuss midterm strategy or maybe
- 24:46Speaker 2: think about actually getting some midterm strategy for once. The
- 24:50Speaker 2: They do have a problem with messaging and all that.
- 24:53Speaker 2: So hopefully figure that out today. Remember, it's early. It's
- 24:57Speaker 2: still August. It's really after Labor Day. People start focusing
- 25:00Speaker 2: on campaigns and on elections. So the president will spend
- 25:04Speaker 2: the night in Texas, this RNC stuff today, tonight, and
- 25:07Speaker 2: then tomorrow he goes to NASA to honor the astronauts.
- 25:12Speaker 2: In fact, he'll be awarding some medals of freedom and
- 25:16Speaker 2: that sort of stuff there. Hey, we'll take some calls. 800-
- 25:18Speaker 2: 3 2 1 0 7 10 is the number. We've
- 25:23Speaker 2: got listeners all over the country and let's say hello
- 25:26Speaker 2: to a few. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 25:29Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 25:31Speaker 7: Good morning, Mark.
- 25:31Speaker 21: I'm doing very well.
- 25:32Speaker 12: Thank you, Mark.
- 25:34Speaker 22: I'm not sure if this is known or not, but
- 25:36Speaker 22: Dolly Parton's last song called my place in history will
- 25:40Speaker 22: not be released until what would have been her 100th birthday.
- 25:44Speaker 22: Now to add context to this, The remaining Beatles released
- 25:49Speaker 22: Free as a Bird back in 1995, which was a
- 25:53Speaker 22: John Lennon recording demo that he did back in 1977.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's interesting. We have actually Dolly Parton talking
- 26:02Speaker 2: about the song, Dave. It's a good point. You know,
- 26:04Speaker 2: a lot of times, many years later, they release the
- 26:09Speaker 2: unreleased song or the missing song from the album or
- 26:13Speaker 2: the never-heard-before unreleased... The reason it's unreleased and the reason
- 26:19Speaker 2: it was missing from the album, it wasn't that good.
- 26:22Speaker 2: If they were making an album and one thing sounded great,
- 26:26Speaker 2: that'd be the first thing on the album. When there's
- 26:28Speaker 2: something that was not on the album, it wasn't that great.
- 26:32Speaker 2: But there is a secret Dolly Parton song. Well, here
- 26:37Speaker 2: she is. I'll let her explain it.
- 26:38Speaker 17: You have a secret song locked away in Dollywood that
- 26:42Speaker 17: will be released in 2045.
- 26:43Speaker 2: That's the truth.
- 26:45Speaker 5: Uh, no, seriously, when we, uh, we do a lot
- 26:48Speaker 5: of things at Dollywood and one year we thought about that.
- 26:51Speaker 7: They asked me if I.
- 26:52Speaker 5: Would write a song that nobody would ever hear.
- 26:55Speaker 10: I'll be dead.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Gone.
- 26:57Speaker 5: Well, I might not be cause I'll be 99.
- 26:59Speaker 20: You know me.
- 26:59Speaker 5: I might still be hopping.
- 27:05Speaker 18: Wow.
- 27:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:08Speaker 2: But, uh, she was a very smart woman. We'll, we'll
- 27:10Speaker 2: get back to, uh, To Dolly Parton. Let's go to
- 27:13Speaker 2: Jack in Connecticut. Jack, how you doing?
- 27:17Speaker 9: Mark, hey.
- 27:19Speaker 14: Long-time listener, first-time caller. I'm a big fan. I don't
- 27:24Speaker 14: know if you might have mentioned this. I don't get
- 27:26Speaker 14: to listen to every minute of your show.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Why not? What the hell are you doing? You mean
- 27:29Speaker 2: you have other things to do?
- 27:32Speaker 14: I do try to catch up on the iHeart podcast.
- 27:35Speaker 18: Oh, okay.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Don't worry. I don't listen to every minute of the
- 27:38Speaker 2: show either. But go ahead.
- 27:40Speaker 14: My father, God rest his soul, was a longtime listener.
- 27:43Speaker 18: He got me into you.
- 27:44Speaker 7: I'll be quick.
- 27:45Speaker 14: I just wanted to make a quick point. So I
- 27:48Speaker 14: don't know if you might have mentioned this, but we
- 27:51Speaker 14: all love Dolly, obviously. But coincidentally, Tim Curry also passed
- 27:56Speaker 14: away on the same day.
- 27:57Speaker 2: You don't know how upset I am. I'm such an
- 28:01Speaker 2: admirer of his.
- 28:04Speaker 18: Yeah, I know.
- 28:05Speaker 23: He's not Dolly, but.
- 28:06Speaker 2: I'm kidding, I'm kidding. We did talk about... First 10 minutes,
- 28:11Speaker 2: I think we talked about Tim Curry. I'm not a fan.
- 28:15Speaker 2: He was a nice guy. I mean, I met him
- 28:17Speaker 2: a few times, but would you explain the magic of
- 28:21Speaker 2: Tim Curry, what it was?
- 28:24Speaker 19: Well.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I thought.
- 28:28Speaker 14: Compared to Dolly, there's no comparison, but, you know, Rocky Horror,
- 28:32Speaker 14: it had a lot of fans. I.
- 28:35Speaker 20: I thought it was interesting.
- 28:37Speaker 2: To go see Rocky Horror at 3 in the morning,
- 28:39Speaker 2: you had to really be drugged up. Yeah, I think
- 28:42Speaker 2: you know what I mean. Thanks, Mark. Okay, thanks for
- 28:45Speaker 2: calling in. Listen, it was a cult, that Rocky Horror stuff.
- 28:50Speaker 2: I mean, there were people that, remember they would see
- 28:53Speaker 2: it over and over? They would see it like 50 times?
- 28:56Speaker 2: But again, they were all drugged up. They weren't even
- 28:59Speaker 2: seeing it when they were there. Let's go to Joseph
- 29:01Speaker 2: in Manhattan. Joseph, how are you doing?
- 29:05Speaker 19: Okay, Mark.
- 29:06Speaker 18: Yes.
- 29:07Speaker 19: Dolly Parton.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Yes.
- 29:08Speaker 12: Dolly Parton, the real inflation. Even Vincent from Brooklyn wanted
- 29:14Speaker 12: to hit on them.
- 29:16Speaker 21: And Johnny Carson on his Tonight Show.
- 29:18Speaker 2: I remember we played it yesterday on the show.
- 29:22Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:23Speaker 19: And Johnny Carson.
- 29:24Speaker 2: All right. Now, I want you to do me a favor.
- 29:26Speaker 2: I want you to go take a cold shower right
- 29:28Speaker 2: now and calm yourself down. You're getting a little too
- 29:30Speaker 2: excited here.
- 29:32Speaker 19: Cowabunga.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Great show as always, Mark. This guy definitely owns a raincoat,
- 29:37Speaker 2: I can tell. Let's go to Max in Manhattan. Max,
- 29:39Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 29:41Speaker 19: Mark, thank you for taking my call. In August 6th
- 29:47Speaker 19: of this year, Hochul signed into effect that if you're
- 29:53Speaker 19: in a hospital and for whatever reason the doctors decide
- 29:56Speaker 19: that they want to off you and get rid of you,
- 29:59Speaker 19: I'll send a nurse in there in the middle of
- 30:00Speaker 19: the night and give you an injection without your family's
- 30:03Speaker 19: approval or your approval. And it's called MAID, M-A-I-D.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I know. He's not kidding. There is such
- 30:09Speaker 2: a thing. This is the crazy legislature we have now
- 30:12Speaker 2: and crazy Kathy Hochul. And they're like, it's a Dr.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Kevorkian type medicine.
- 30:20Speaker 19: Kevorkian times 20.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's actually much worse. Yeah, that's a good point. Yeah,
- 30:25Speaker 2: people went to Kevorkian voluntarily. And, uh, boy, uh, I
- 30:31Speaker 2: don't know what she's up to or the legislature's up to,
- 30:33Speaker 2: but a lot of times, uh, you know, remember that Dr. Kevorkian,
- 30:37Speaker 2: if you were really sick, if you were in so
- 30:39Speaker 2: much pain, if there was no hope, you could go
- 30:41Speaker 2: to him and it was assisted suicide. And remember the
- 30:45Speaker 2: rebellion against him? Remember 60 minutes had him on the
- 30:48Speaker 2: air and they tore him apart. And they, there was
- 30:50Speaker 2: such rebellion against how this was the most evil man
- 30:53Speaker 2: on earth. And this is a, But through the years,
- 30:56Speaker 2: things have changed a little, especially now that there's these
- 30:59Speaker 2: big hospital systems. You know, it's like five hospital systems
- 31:02Speaker 2: can control everything. And they're run by bean counters. And,
- 31:06Speaker 2: you know, they're starting to realize, you know, if they
- 31:10Speaker 2: do get rid of some of these patients, they would
- 31:11Speaker 2: save ourselves a fortune, a lot of money. So it's coming.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Whatever Democrats thought 30 years ago, they never think that now.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Like Bill Clinton, if he tried to run now. Would
- 31:25Speaker 2: have to run as a Republican. John F. Kennedy, we
- 31:29Speaker 2: talked about this yesterday. You know, they want Trump's name
- 31:32Speaker 2: off the Kennedy Center. But the Democrats today, if they
- 31:34Speaker 2: knew what Kennedy stood for, they'd want his name off
- 31:37Speaker 2: the building. Kennedy was anti-abortion. Very, very, very hawkish. Military
- 31:43Speaker 2: escalation in Vietnam. He was a tax cutter. Oh, if
- 31:46Speaker 2: they knew about the real Kennedy, not to mention all
- 31:49Speaker 2: the womanizing. But anyway, so let's go to Martin in Miami. Martin,
- 31:53Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 31:55Speaker 20: Good.
- 31:55Speaker 8: How are you doing?
- 31:56Speaker 2: Good.
- 31:58Speaker 19: Listen, two things.
- 31:59Speaker 24: I was wondering, this pied-a-terre tax, is this just a
- 32:02Speaker 24: way for the government to tax these guys, these people,
- 32:08Speaker 24: these billionaires that live in New York City for less
- 32:11Speaker 24: than 182 days?
- 32:12Speaker 19: Was that ever brought up?
- 32:14Speaker 2: Well, it just sounds good. Go after the rich, annoy
- 32:17Speaker 2: the rich. You live in Miami? You don't have a
- 32:19Speaker 2: place back here, do you?
- 32:21Speaker 8: No, no, I don't.
- 32:22Speaker 2: So you're saying.
- 32:22Speaker 24: No, but I was just thinking that, you know, I've
- 32:24Speaker 24: heard all these stories about how they've got people tracking
- 32:27Speaker 24: these billionaires so that they can.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Well, that's a different... Yeah, that's a different thing. That's
- 32:31Speaker 2: the tax department, state tax department. They do carefully track everybody.
- 32:36Speaker 2: You know, if you move to Miami, you move to
- 32:39Speaker 2: Florida or wherever you move, and you say, that's it,
- 32:42Speaker 2: I'm no longer a resident of New York. You're only
- 32:44Speaker 2: allowed back here like 180 days or something. But they
- 32:46Speaker 2: track you like crazy. And everybody thinks that they can
- 32:51Speaker 2: fool these tax people that are looking to get your money.
- 32:55Speaker 2: You can't. They're checking your cell phone GPS to see
- 32:58Speaker 2: exactly where you were. And there's a whole list of
- 33:02Speaker 2: like 200 things you have to do to claim you're
- 33:03Speaker 2: a Florida resident. You've got to have all your primary
- 33:06Speaker 2: doctors there. If you come to New York, you can
- 33:08Speaker 2: only see a specialist. You have to have all sorts
- 33:11Speaker 2: of things moved down there. Now, the pied-à-terre tax, that's
- 33:14Speaker 2: just to go after the rich. It sounds good. Look
- 33:17Speaker 2: how we're. You remember they did this about 15 years ago.
- 33:20Speaker 2: They did the same thing with the private jet tax.
- 33:23Speaker 2: We're going to tax every private jet owner. It sounded great.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Until they figured out there's only about 75 people that
- 33:30Speaker 2: have a private jet. It didn't raise any money. It
- 33:32Speaker 2: doesn't do anything. Same thing with the pied-à-terre tax, which
- 33:35Speaker 2: you'll never see. It'll never happen. Because they started out
- 33:38Speaker 2: with $ 100, 000 and then it was $ 17, 000. Now it looks
- 33:41Speaker 2: like it's $ 2, 000. It's not going to be enough to
- 33:43Speaker 2: mean anything. Hey, I'm here 9 to noon every day.
- 33:46Speaker 2: That's our new time, 9 to noon. And then at noon,
- 33:49Speaker 2: you got Buck and Clay with a great show. Then
- 33:51Speaker 2: you got the most listened to radio show in America,
- 33:55Speaker 2: Sean Hannity at 3, Jesse Kelly at 6, the very
- 33:58Speaker 2: funny Jimmy Fela. He'll be with us later today in
- 34:01Speaker 2: the third hour. Right here on 710WOR.
- 34:04Speaker 20: More Mark.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Mark Simone.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Mr. New York. Now three hours every weekday from 9
- 34:11Speaker 1: till noon on 710WOR.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Well, that's right. If you don't know, in case you've
- 34:17Speaker 2: been away or something, we're now three hours. The show
- 34:19Speaker 2: starts at 9 a.m. It's now 9 to noon that
- 34:23Speaker 2: we're on every day. So you missed the first hour
- 34:25Speaker 2: if you're just tuning in. Actually, I'll be off tomorrow.
- 34:29Speaker 2: It's the summer I take Fridays off, but I'll be
- 34:31Speaker 2: back Monday, Monday through Friday normally, 9 to noon. Back
- 34:35Speaker 2: after the news, 710WOR.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Let's get back to the Mark Simone Show on WOR.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Well, it's Thursday. It's going to be rainy today. If
- 34:54Speaker 2: the forecast holds up, there could be Very heavy rain
- 34:58Speaker 2: late this afternoon, actually maybe three, four o'clock. And if
- 35:02Speaker 2: it's anything like the last few vicious storms, you could
- 35:05Speaker 2: have a lot of flooding all over the place. The parkways, roadways,
- 35:09Speaker 2: keep an eye on that. Should ease up by evening
- 35:13Speaker 2: and then be a little better. Here's the craziest story
- 35:16Speaker 2: of all. Now, you know, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was the
- 35:21Speaker 2: mastermind of the 9-11 attacks. Of course, you had Osama
- 35:26Speaker 2: bin Laden, who was hiding in Pakistan. Admiral William McRaven
- 35:33Speaker 2: led that great raid to capture him. They ended up
- 35:37Speaker 2: having to shoot him, which everybody was very happy about,
- 35:41Speaker 2: because I guess he had a gun. When they entered
- 35:44Speaker 2: the house and they got to the third floor where
- 35:45Speaker 2: he was, he had a gun. So they did shoot him.
- 35:49Speaker 2: They shot him dead, disposed of the body at sea,
- 35:52Speaker 2: which is the best way to get rid of this guy. Also,
- 35:55Speaker 2: you remember the mastermind, the guy who designed the 9-11 attack,
- 36:00Speaker 2: was Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. This is the guy they captured.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Remember that famous, it's got to be the worst mugshot.
- 36:06Speaker 2: I mean, you've never seen anybody on cops look worse
- 36:09Speaker 2: than this, getting dragged out of their house. He had
- 36:12Speaker 2: that ripped up undershirt on, his whole body covered with hair,
- 36:16Speaker 2: not just a hairy chest. Look at the picture. The
- 36:18Speaker 2: guy had hairy shoulders, a hairy neck. I mean, a
- 36:20Speaker 2: real baboon of a guy. And it's Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Now,
- 36:26Speaker 2: you remember when he was captured?
- 36:27Speaker 11: 2003.
- 36:29Speaker 2: That's 23 years ago. 23 years ago. What the hell
- 36:35Speaker 2: have they been doing with this guy for 23 years?
- 36:38Speaker 2: So they just announced the trial. He will finally go
- 36:40Speaker 2: on trial. Now, this is 23 years. Why wasn't he
- 36:44Speaker 2: on trial in 2024? I mean, 2004, a year after
- 36:46Speaker 2: they got him. And frankly, why wasn't he just shot
- 36:51Speaker 2: dead and thrown in the ocean like Osama bin Laden? Well,
- 36:55Speaker 2: he's been in Guantanamo. And why is it 23 years? Judges,
- 37:03Speaker 2: federal judges, you know, these same federal judges. You can't
- 37:05Speaker 2: build a ballroom. You can't do this. You can't do
- 37:08Speaker 2: these federal judges jump in every time the prosecutors are
- 37:11Speaker 2: ready to go. Federal judge delayed the case. One time
- 37:15Speaker 2: he was ready to plead guilty and a federal judge
- 37:18Speaker 2: stepped in. these crazy judges. So now the trial is
- 37:23Speaker 2: scheduled to begin and you're saying, what the hell took
- 37:25Speaker 2: so long? 23 years later, why did it take so long? Okay,
- 37:30Speaker 2: listen to this. Big announcement, trial set to begin. Here's
- 37:36Speaker 2: the date, June 5th, 2028. That's two years from now.
- 37:43Speaker 2: What is the point of a trial? That'll be 25
- 37:45Speaker 2: years we've had the guy in captivity. 25 years. So
- 37:51Speaker 2: I understand the trial set to begin, start Monday. All right.
- 37:55Speaker 2: It's Labor Day week. Start a week from Monday. It's
- 37:58Speaker 2: Labor Day. Start two weeks from Monday, not June 5th, 2028.
- 38:03Speaker 2: This is how they work.
- 38:09Speaker 10: U.S.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Military justice. But again, it's these federal judges delaying the
- 38:13Speaker 2: whole thing. Mohammed Sheikh Khalid Sheikh Khalid Sheikh, whatever the
- 38:17Speaker 2: hell his name is, is accused of developing and directing
- 38:19Speaker 2: the plot to crash hijacked airliners into the World Trade Center.
- 38:23Speaker 2: There's a couple of other guys that will go on
- 38:27Speaker 2: trial with him. Waleen Bid Atash, Ali Abdul Aziz Ali.
- 38:34Speaker 2: That's the guy's name. Ali Abdul Aziz Ali. Quadruple A.
- 38:42Speaker 2: And then there's this guy, Mustafa al-Hasawi. They're all going
- 38:49Speaker 2: on trial, but again, not for two years. It's absolutely crazy.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Absolutely crazy. You know, we should get Admiral William McRaven,
- 38:58Speaker 2: put together another raid, go capture these guys again and
- 39:02Speaker 2: put them on trial immediately. The deal they are looking for,
- 39:07Speaker 2: Mohammed wants a deal. We'll give him a life sentence
- 39:10Speaker 2: without parole. Instead of the death penalty, if anybody qualifies
- 39:14Speaker 2: for the death penalty, it's this guy. So hopefully there'll
- 39:18Speaker 2: be no deal. Now, you know, Donald Trump drives the
- 39:22Speaker 2: Democrats crazy. Trump derangement syndrome is a real thing. Listen,
- 39:28Speaker 2: if you don't like the guy, that's fine. And if
- 39:30Speaker 2: you don't agree with him on this, that's fine, too.
- 39:32Speaker 2: But this Trump derangement syndrome is where you just go nuts.
- 39:35Speaker 2: You just enrage all day and night over a lot
- 39:39Speaker 2: of things. I don't like Hochul. I mean, I like
- 39:40Speaker 2: Hochul personally. She's a nice person. But Governor Hochul, I
- 39:43Speaker 2: don't like anything she's doing. I think she's the worst
- 39:45Speaker 2: governor in the world. I think her decisions are horrible.
- 39:50Speaker 2: But I don't get mad about it. I'm not enraged
- 39:53Speaker 2: about her yelling and screaming. But when it comes to Trump,
- 39:56Speaker 2: what is it about him? He just sets them off.
- 39:59Speaker 2: They just go nuts. You never, ever, ever hear any
- 40:04Speaker 2: of these Democrats say, you know, I don't agree with
- 40:06Speaker 2: President Trump on some things. You know, I think he's wrong.
- 40:10Speaker 2: They just start yelling and screaming. So there's a Philadelphia
- 40:13Speaker 2: district attorney. I think this guy's up to something. You
- 40:17Speaker 2: think he's running for governor or something. He wants the...
- 40:19Speaker 2: rise up because all of a sudden he's lashing out
- 40:22Speaker 2: at Trump, making these speeches. The Trump ballroom got to
- 40:26Speaker 2: go ahead. And Trump is a very fast builder. It's
- 40:30Speaker 2: not the government building something which takes 10 years. It's
- 40:33Speaker 2: a professional builder. He'll have this thing done in 10 weeks, probably.
- 40:36Speaker 2: I mean, he'll really get this thing going. So Democrats
- 40:40Speaker 2: are already plotting if they take back the White House
- 40:43Speaker 2: or even Congress, they're salivating at the thought of destroying
- 40:47Speaker 2: the ballroom, of actually tearing it down. Now, you may
- 40:51Speaker 2: not like Trump, and you might not like the way
- 40:55Speaker 2: he decorated the Oval Office. It is a little silly
- 40:58Speaker 2: looking with the gold everywhere and 6,000 paintings on the walls.
- 41:01Speaker 2: But one thing he's good at is building ballrooms. Now,
- 41:04Speaker 2: you can go look. Go look at the ballroom in Mar-a-Lago.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Go look at the ballroom in any of his hotels,
- 41:10Speaker 2: the new hotel in Washington. Go look at his ballrooms.
- 41:12Speaker 2: They are magnificent. Even when he had the plaza, when
- 41:16Speaker 2: he owned that, he restored that ballroom. His ballrooms look great.
- 41:19Speaker 2: You couldn't get a better guy to build you a ballroom.
- 41:21Speaker 2: So it's going to be wonderful. Who the hell would
- 41:23Speaker 2: tear it down? Now, listen to this guy in Philadelphia.
- 41:25Speaker 2: He's the district attorney. He's on an anti-Trump crusade. Listen
- 41:29Speaker 2: to him.
- 41:29Speaker 1: And I'm going to have a paperweight sitting on my desk.
- 41:32Speaker 2: You know what that paperweight is going to be?
- 41:34Speaker 25: It's going to be a piece of the ballroom after
- 41:36Speaker 25: we all blow it up.
- 41:38Speaker 2: That's what it's going to be. And they're cheering. This
- 41:42Speaker 2: is Trump derangement syndrome. They're cheering for a guy setting
- 41:46Speaker 2: off an explosive at the White House, a bomb, and
- 41:49Speaker 2: blowing up the White House ballroom. By the way, underneath
- 41:52Speaker 2: the ballroom is the Situation Room. When they go to
- 41:56Speaker 2: the Situation Room, the one they got now is outdated.
- 41:59Speaker 2: It's really outdated. In the highest emergency, they go into
- 42:03Speaker 2: the Situation Room. The one they got now has got
- 42:06Speaker 2: like old Sony TV screens from 1973. It's got a
- 42:10Speaker 2: VHS player in case they need it. It's So they're
- 42:14Speaker 2: building a new state-of-the-art situation room. Also, the bunker, the
- 42:17Speaker 2: emergency bunker they go into in the most extreme emergencies outdated.
- 42:22Speaker 2: So underneath the ballroom will be the most state-of-the-art bunker
- 42:26Speaker 2: of all. And then the roof of the ballroom will
- 42:29Speaker 2: contain a drone center where they'll have drones to defend
- 42:35Speaker 2: the White House. So that's important stuff. But this guy
- 42:37Speaker 2: wants to blow it up, set off a big bomb
- 42:39Speaker 2: and blow up the ballroom. This is a, his name
- 42:42Speaker 2: is Krasner.
- 42:43Speaker 22: This is a small bunch of wannabe Nazis.
- 42:47Speaker 2: He's talking about ICE, ICE or law enforcement guys. This
- 42:50Speaker 2: is a small bunch of wannabe Nazis. That's what they are.
- 42:55Speaker 2: There will be accountability now. There will be accountability in
- 42:59Speaker 2: the future.
- 43:00Speaker 1: There will be accountability after Trump is out of office.
- 43:08Speaker 2: If we have to hunt you down.
- 43:11Speaker 1: The way they hunted down Nazis for decades.
- 43:16Speaker 2: The guy's crazy. Now, you know, this ICE is just
- 43:20Speaker 2: a law enforcement agency. When Barack Obama was president for
- 43:23Speaker 2: eight years, he used ICE in exactly the same way.
- 43:27Speaker 2: The same ICE. You know who he had in charge
- 43:29Speaker 2: of it? Tom Holman. That was Obama's ICE director. You
- 43:33Speaker 2: know what they did? They deported even more people than
- 43:36Speaker 2: they're deporting now. They actually deported four million under Obama.
- 43:40Speaker 7: So.
- 43:41Speaker 2: Again, it's Trump derangement syndrome. This Krasner obviously wants to
- 43:44Speaker 2: run for governor or senator or something. Attorney General Todd
- 43:48Speaker 2: Blancho asked about this Krasner.
- 43:50Speaker 1: It's disgusting that a district attorney in Philadelphia, who, by
- 43:55Speaker 1: the way, has a city with its own problems.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Yeah, there is a big crime problem in Philadelphia. Get
- 44:02Speaker 2: busy with that. It's the same thing here where you
- 44:04Speaker 2: get Alvin Bragg speaking out about Trump. This is the
- 44:07Speaker 2: guy letting criminals loose. He lets criminals out. lets him out.
- 44:13Speaker 2: You hear the stories every day. This guy's been arrested
- 44:16Speaker 2: 27 times for robbery and 27 times. And he goes
- 44:21Speaker 2: before Alvin Bragg, you're dismissed. No bail, no jail. Blame again,
- 44:27Speaker 2: Andrew Cuomo, who signed that no bail, no jail thing. Hey,
- 44:30Speaker 2: that's the reason, you know, and this Alvin Bragg and
- 44:33Speaker 2: these DAs, they decide, well, shoplifting is not a crime.
- 44:36Speaker 2: We're not going to charge anybody with shoplifting. I'm in
- 44:39Speaker 2: the drugstore yesterday. You want anything. You want some aspirin?
- 44:43Speaker 2: You want some shampoo? It's locked up. It's locked up.
- 44:47Speaker 2: You got to push this button and ring the bell
- 44:50Speaker 2: for the manager to come unlock it. What am I,
- 44:57Speaker 2: a bulgari buying a $ 500, 000 bracelet? It's a bottle of aspirin.
- 45:02Speaker 20: It's locked up.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Thanks to Cuomo and Alvin Bragg and all these people.
- 45:07Speaker 2: You know, it's spreading, too, this crime wave. It's organized.
- 45:12Speaker 2: It's all kids running in, but they're organized, and they
- 45:14Speaker 2: come in with their own shopping carts, their own hefty bags.
- 45:18Speaker 2: According to Alvin Bragg, if it's under $ 1, 000, no charge.
- 45:22Speaker 2: You won't be charged with shoplifting. So they're experts, these
- 45:26Speaker 2: kids now, at stealing $ 999 worth of stuff, running out
- 45:30Speaker 2: with it. They take it to this van where it's
- 45:32Speaker 2: all collected. It goes to the shoplifting store. It's organized,
- 45:36Speaker 2: an organized crime kind of ring, and then it's all
- 45:38Speaker 2: sold on the black market or resold to other stores
- 45:42Speaker 2: at a profit. It's starting to spread a little now.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Supermarkets are getting hit in parts of the country. There
- 45:48Speaker 2: are supermarkets now that have to lock up the valuable meat,
- 45:52Speaker 2: like in the meat section, the ribeye and the filet
- 45:56Speaker 2: and all that has to be locked up. Same thing,
- 45:58Speaker 2: push the button, ring the bell for the manager to
- 46:02Speaker 2: come unlock your meat. Hey, I think we should play
- 46:05Speaker 2: this every hour. We like to talk about Dolly Parton,
- 46:08Speaker 2: but she was the wisest, besides the great entertainer, songwriter, performer,
- 46:14Speaker 2: she was the wisest at running her career. And that's
- 46:19Speaker 2: why she lasted so long. That's why she was so beloved.
- 46:22Speaker 2: And that's why after decades, nobody could find a bad
- 46:24Speaker 2: thing to say about her. But let's play this again.
- 46:26Speaker 2: We played it the first hour. Let's play it every hour.
- 46:29Speaker 2: It's a good lesson, especially if you've got any people listening, performers, musicians,
- 46:34Speaker 2: Anybody in the entertainment business, Dolly Parton would never go
- 46:38Speaker 2: near politics for any reason. She wouldn't pose with any politicians.
- 46:44Speaker 2: But this Trump's president, this reporter tries to get her
- 46:47Speaker 2: to talk.
- 46:47Speaker 4: We have a president of the United States who said
- 46:49Speaker 4: those things on that bus.
- 46:51Speaker 5: I'm not addressing that. I do not get into that.
- 46:54Speaker 5: Of course, I have my opinion about everybody and everything.
- 46:57Speaker 5: But I learned a long time ago, keep your damn
- 46:59Speaker 5: mouth shut if you want to stay in show business.
- 47:01Speaker 5: I'm not in politics. I'm an entertainer.
- 47:04Speaker 4: And yet you're also a role model.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Yes, I am.
- 47:06Speaker 5: That's why I don't talk about people. So if you
- 47:10Speaker 5: are deciding you may want to ask me something more serious, don't,
- 47:12Speaker 5: because I'm not going.
- 47:13Speaker 7: To answer it.
- 47:14Speaker 4: Fair warning, I might still ask.
- 47:16Speaker 5: You can ask, but I might still tell you where
- 47:18Speaker 5: to put it.
- 47:20Speaker 2: Yeah, Stephen Colbert, you hear that? Don't talk about politics now,
- 47:25Speaker 2: Stephen Colbert. And since the show went off the air, CBS,
- 47:28Speaker 2: you see how his career has taken off, really taken off.
- 47:31Speaker 2: You see that. Immediately, people ran out and hired him. Hey,
- 47:35Speaker 2: by the way, you see that story in the New
- 47:36Speaker 2: York Post that Chris Cuomo, the new head of CBS News,
- 47:42Speaker 2: Barry Weiss, CBS salivating over Chris Cuomo, desperately chasing after him,
- 47:48Speaker 2: trying very hard to get Chris Cuomo on the air
- 47:51Speaker 2: at CBS. They were dying to get him. Now, when
- 47:55Speaker 2: you see that story, what does it tell you? Well,
- 47:59Speaker 2: if you're in the media business, it tells you that
- 48:01Speaker 2: over at NewsNation, Chris Cuomo's contract must be up. And
- 48:05Speaker 2: you've got somebody planting stories like that, trying to renegotiate
- 48:09Speaker 2: with News Nation to get a new contract. Because I
- 48:12Speaker 2: doubt that anybody at CBS is salivating over Chris Cuomo.
- 48:15Speaker 2: First of all, News Nation is a very nice place,
- 48:19Speaker 2: but CBS is much bigger. If they wanted him, all
- 48:21Speaker 2: he'd do is pick up the phone and he'd start
- 48:23Speaker 2: packing two seconds after the phone call. But again, it's
- 48:29Speaker 2: just an old trick. Your contract's up. Everybody does that.
- 48:31Speaker 2: You plant a story somewhere that they're desperately trying to
- 48:35Speaker 2: hire you, and that helps you negotiate your new contract. Hey,
- 48:38Speaker 2: a lot of people worried about Tiger Woods. He wanted
- 48:42Speaker 2: to do a video message to congratulate Nota Beghi, who's
- 48:46Speaker 2: getting the Payne Stewart Award. They asked people to speak,
- 48:50Speaker 2: you know, tribute. Tiger couldn't be there, so he did
- 48:53Speaker 2: a video. And he sent the video. Well, it went
- 48:55Speaker 2: up online and a lot of his fans were shocked.
- 48:58Speaker 2: He didn't look so hot. But remember, the guy's in rehab.
- 49:02Speaker 2: You know, when you're a golfer, you're out there in
- 49:04Speaker 2: the sun every day. So you got a beautiful tan.
- 49:07Speaker 2: You look great. When you're in rehab, you look like
- 49:09Speaker 2: a mess. It's like it's like being in prison. So
- 49:12Speaker 2: people on X think he looks like a former shell
- 49:15Speaker 2: of his self. What's going on with the big cat?
- 49:18Speaker 2: Looks different. Another one posted. gee, Tiger doesn't look so good.
- 49:22Speaker 2: Scheduled to make his first court appearance. Remember, as far
- 49:25Speaker 2: as the crash, he hasn't really gone into court yet
- 49:28Speaker 2: with that, but September 8th, I think that's the day
- 49:30Speaker 2: after Labor Day, five months after the incident. All right,
- 49:34Speaker 2: it's better than Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. But you see, this
- 49:39Speaker 2: This little Tiger Woods thing, they get that done in
- 49:41Speaker 2: a couple of months. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, 25 years to
- 49:45Speaker 2: get him on trial. Hey, we'll take some calls next.
- 49:47Speaker 2: 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 49:48Speaker 8: 800-321-0710.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Now, much more Mark. Mark Simone. Now, 9 till noon weekdays.
- 49:51Speaker 18: On 710WOR.
- 49:51Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. 800- 321-0710 is the number.
- 50:11Speaker 2: Let's go to Frank in Phoenix. Frank, how are you doing?
- 50:16Speaker 26: Good morning, Mark.
- 50:17Speaker 23: Mark, the socialists must have hated Dolly Parton. She is
- 50:21Speaker 23: exactly everything they hate. She came up from nothing. She
- 50:24Speaker 23: created an empire. And she was loved by millions.
- 50:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and it was a great American story. Dolly Parton,
- 50:32Speaker 2: born in a one-room cabin. And look what she achieved.
- 50:36Speaker 2: Lives in a mansion in Tennessee. She also had a
- 50:39Speaker 2: nice place in New York. I guess I can say
- 50:41Speaker 2: it now. She's no longer with us. It was 800
- 50:45Speaker 2: Fifth Avenue, that building at 61st Street. She had an
- 50:48Speaker 2: apartment with a beautiful view of the park. Let's go
- 50:51Speaker 2: to Chris in Manhattan. Chris, how are you doing?
- 50:55Speaker 20: Good morning, Mark. I'm okay, thanks.
- 50:56Speaker 8: How are you doing?
- 50:57Speaker 2: You're always worried about something. What are you worried about?
- 51:01Speaker 8: I am worried, but I'm kind of resigned now. I
- 51:04Speaker 8: think Trump has handed the midterms to the Democrats.
- 51:08Speaker 2: Let me just point out, Chris is a panicking. He's
- 51:11Speaker 2: always panicking. We go through this every election. Remember when
- 51:14Speaker 2: it was abortion, he was going to lose because of abortion.
- 51:16Speaker 8: I do remember that, and I was wrong, and I
- 51:18Speaker 8: still can't believe I was wrong about that.
- 51:20Speaker 2: All right, tell us what you're wrong about this time.
- 51:22Speaker 8: Okay, listen. He's desperately trying to get back with Iran
- 51:25Speaker 8: to where we were before.
- 51:26Speaker 2: He started the war. Let me just point out in
- 51:28Speaker 2: the midterms.
- 51:29Speaker 8: That's one thing.
- 51:30Speaker 2: The same thing with abortion. I was trying to tell
- 51:31Speaker 2: you this back with abortion. It's no longer a federal issue.
- 51:35Speaker 2: The president has nothing to do with abortion anymore. It's
- 51:37Speaker 2: a state issue. And in every focus group they studied
- 51:40Speaker 2: on voters, abortion was like the number 27th issue. It
- 51:43Speaker 2: wasn't even.
- 51:44Speaker 8: I'm not talking about abortion.
- 51:45Speaker 2: Okay. It's the same thing with Iran. Iran is now
- 51:47Speaker 2: number 15 on the list of issues. 96%—forget the people
- 51:52Speaker 2: you know in Manhattan. In America, nobody is concerned about Iran.
- 51:55Speaker 2: Nobody's talking about it.
- 51:56Speaker 9: I'm not concerned about it.
- 51:57Speaker 8: I'm concerned about how much more money it's costing me
- 52:00Speaker 8: to live.
- 52:01Speaker 20: I voted for him three times.
- 52:03Speaker 2: That has nothing to do with Iran. There's no connection
- 52:05Speaker 2: between that and Iran. All right. I hate to break
- 52:09Speaker 2: it to you, but gas is like— Hey, we have
- 52:11Speaker 2: people calling from all over the country. Gas is $ 2. 60 here.
- 52:13Speaker 2: It's $ 3.
- 52:14Speaker 18: 50 here.
- 52:15Speaker 8: My frozen pizza at Whole Foods went up $ 1. 50 in
- 52:19Speaker 8: a week.
- 52:20Speaker 9: What's that from?
- 52:22Speaker 2: It's from state, city taxes. It's from congestion pricing. It's
- 52:26Speaker 2: from fees they're charging. It's from rent. If you go
- 52:28Speaker 2: to the supermarket, you're just paying ridiculous prices in New York. See,
- 52:32Speaker 2: your problem is you've got to get out of New
- 52:33Speaker 2: York City. I know you go to the Hamptons. Forget that.
- 52:36Speaker 2: You've got to go to, like, Tennessee. You've got to
- 52:38Speaker 2: go to, like, real places and see what things actually
- 52:41Speaker 2: cost and how people actually live. It's like a Manhattan
- 52:44Speaker 2: thing that you're paying these crazy prices.
- 52:47Speaker 8: But now he's starting a war with Canada. Canada, they're
- 52:50Speaker 8: our neighbors. They're our brothers.
- 52:51Speaker 2: No, they're not. They're screwing us on tariffs. We'll screw them.
- 52:55Speaker 2: There's no war with Canada. He's just negotiating.
- 52:58Speaker 8: You heard that the biggest impact of the tariff wars
- 53:01Speaker 8: is going to be a rise in the price of
- 53:03Speaker 8: toilet paper again. 25 to 50 percent price rise because.
- 53:06Speaker 23: Of the wood.
- 53:07Speaker 2: Let me explain to you. What a real tariff is.
- 53:10Speaker 2: These tariffs are nothing. They get negotiated away and they're gone.
- 53:14Speaker 2: And we don't have to pay the tariffs. Usually tariffs
- 53:17Speaker 2: are paid by middlemen and exporters. A tariff, a real
- 53:20Speaker 2: tariff that affects you is corporate tax. Every time the Democrats,
- 53:24Speaker 2: especially in New York, they raise corporate tax. That's a
- 53:27Speaker 2: tariff on the corporation. And they put the cost right
- 53:30Speaker 2: into the product. So if they raise corporate tax in
- 53:33Speaker 2: New York State, every product goes up in price to
- 53:36Speaker 2: match it. So don't be a panicking.
- 53:38Speaker 8: We'll have a great weekend, Mark.
- 53:39Speaker 12: Okay.
- 53:39Speaker 2: Thank you. Don't be a panicking. Don't be a panicking.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing?
- 53:45Speaker 26: Good morning, Mark.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Yes, Mike.
- 53:48Speaker 26: I see also that J.P. Morgan passed away.
- 53:51Speaker 2: J.P. Morgan was alive?
- 53:54Speaker 26: I know. I couldn't believe it. I think he was
- 53:56Speaker 26: like 92 or something.
- 53:57Speaker 2: No, it should be more than that.
- 53:58Speaker 9: J.P.
- 53:59Speaker 2: Morgan was a singer.
- 54:00Speaker 6: Maybe.
- 54:01Speaker 2: Who was very funny and got herself on The Tonight Show.
- 54:04Speaker 2: She was funny and good with Johnny Carson. She became
- 54:07Speaker 2: a regular guest, and she was a game show panelist.
- 54:09Speaker 2: But she was probably best known for The Gong Show.
- 54:12Speaker 2: She was one of the panelists on The Gong Show
- 54:14Speaker 2: for years.
- 54:16Speaker 26: She was a real hoot in her day.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Yeah, very funny.
- 54:19Speaker 26: I wanted to make a point about the Dolly Parton thing.
- 54:21Speaker 27: I saw Tony Bennett would have turned 100 earlier in
- 54:25Speaker 27: the month. And I know you've spoken about him cutting
- 54:29Speaker 27: off all ties with you because of your politics differing.
- 54:32Speaker 12: No, no.
- 54:33Speaker 2: Unfortunately, he didn't cut off all ties. Whenever I'd see him,
- 54:35Speaker 2: he'd start yelling at me. We'd get into a big
- 54:37Speaker 2: fight every day.
- 54:38Speaker 26: Well, that's, yeah.
- 54:39Speaker 2: Now, then he got Alzheimer's and he forgot that he
- 54:43Speaker 2: was mad at me, so all of a sudden he
- 54:45Speaker 2: was nice again.
- 54:46Speaker 26: He didn't remember why he was yelling at you. But
- 54:51Speaker 26: it's always one-sided. You know, the right doesn't do that.
- 54:54Speaker 26: They don't excommunicate people like the left does.
- 54:57Speaker 25: And it's, you know, they are more forgiving, and it's
- 55:02Speaker 25: a problem in politics because it the right is insisting
- 55:07Speaker 25: on doing the right, you know, the correct thing.
- 55:09Speaker 26: And Blakeman, on his decision not to go along with
- 55:12Speaker 26: this stupid.
- 55:14Speaker 21: Oh, no, no.
- 55:16Speaker 12: That was not.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Oh, Mike, Mike. There was no decision by Blakeman. The
- 55:21Speaker 2: lawyers just told him, you got no choice. You have
- 55:24Speaker 2: to do this. It's the law.
- 55:26Speaker 9: Yes, you're right.
- 55:27Speaker 26: But a Democrat, you know, a politician would say, to
- 55:29Speaker 26: hell with the lawyers. I mean, Mickey Sherrill was ordered
- 55:32Speaker 26: by the Fed to turn.
- 55:33Speaker 20: Over the name.
- 55:34Speaker 26: She still hasn't done it. They're much more defiant. That's
- 55:36Speaker 26: my point. I'm not saying.
- 55:38Speaker 2: No, you're right. You're absolutely right. And it's a good point.
- 55:41Speaker 19: All right.
- 55:41Speaker 2: Thanks for calling, Mike. Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 55:44Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 55:45Speaker 9: Good morning, Mark. Mark, this $ 18 billion that Meta settled
- 55:50Speaker 9: before the trial, this is nothing but a shakedown. You
- 55:54Speaker 9: notice it's all the blue states that sued Meta. They
- 55:59Speaker 9: do the same thing in the socialist countries of Europe.
- 56:02Speaker 9: Every time there's a budget shortfall, they look at what
- 56:07Speaker 9: American tech company they could sue, mainly the tech companies.
- 56:13Speaker 9: Letitia James and Kathy Hochul already salivating over that $ 1
- 56:19Speaker 9: billion that they're estimated to get. I don't understand these people,
- 56:24Speaker 9: just like Rupert Murdoch. Right before the trial, they go settle.
- 56:30Speaker 9: They fold like a cheap suit and they settle.
- 56:33Speaker 2: Vincent, in the case of Murdoch, if you talk to
- 56:36Speaker 2: him about it, he can explain it so logically. It
- 56:39Speaker 2: was $ 500 million for him to settle. He would rather
- 56:42Speaker 2: do that and move on immediately than tie up a
- 56:44Speaker 2: bunch of lawyers and fight for 36 months.
- 56:45Speaker 9: Okay, Bob, but let's talk about matter. We're talking about
- 56:49Speaker 9: $ 18 billion. I would have spent a billion dollars on
- 56:54Speaker 9: my lawyers that I have in retainer bollocking the government up.
- 57:00Speaker 9: getting delays, doing whatever I can, because.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Oh, I know, but Vincent, we've got to go do
- 57:05Speaker 2: the news, but it's just the way they.
- 57:08Speaker 8: It's a shakedown, Mark.
- 57:09Speaker 2: You're absolutely right. It's a good point. Absolutely right.
- 57:11Speaker 9: We'd be in jail for it.
- 57:13Speaker 2: It is a shakedown, but if you're Meta and you're
- 57:15Speaker 2: Zuckerberg and you've got a million things going on, it's
- 57:18Speaker 2: 18 billion's pocket change if you don't have to hear
- 57:20Speaker 2: about this again. To them, it's worth it. Hey, when
- 57:23Speaker 2: we come back, Steve Moore, the great economist, he'll be
- 57:26Speaker 2: with us next on 710WOR.
- 57:29Speaker 1: It's the Mark Simone Show. Live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 57:38Speaker 2: Well, Steve Moore, the great economist, make sure you read
- 57:41Speaker 2: his latest book called The Trump Economic Miracle. You'll love it.
- 57:46Speaker 2: And he runs the Committee to Unleash Prosperity. Every day
- 57:49Speaker 2: they put out the best daily briefing with great issues
- 57:52Speaker 2: and analysis. And it's free. It'll come right to your email.
- 57:55Speaker 2: You really should get this. Just go to UnleashProsperity.com and
- 57:59Speaker 2: sign up. UnleashProsperity.com. Steve Moore, how are you doing?
- 58:05Speaker 19: Mark, doing pretty well. You know, we have our news.
- 58:09Speaker 21: I've got a.
- 58:10Speaker 19: Question for you. Do you know what state has the
- 58:13Speaker 19: fourth highest cost of living?
- 58:18Speaker 2: Fourth highest. Fourth highest cost of living. Well, I imagine
- 58:23Speaker 2: number one and two is New York and California. Number three, Illinois.
- 58:28Speaker 12: Number four, I don't know.
- 58:31Speaker 19: You're pretty close, my friend. Actually, New York is fourth.
- 58:34Speaker 19: Hawaii and California are ahead of New York and I
- 58:37Speaker 19: think Massachusetts. But, yeah. Believe it or not. But what's
- 58:42Speaker 19: funny about this– Well, you know, because, by the way,
- 58:45Speaker 19: you could understand why costs would be high in Hawaii,
- 58:47Speaker 19: because you have to ship everything to the island. That
- 58:49Speaker 19: increases costs. But, you know, what's New York's excuse? And
- 58:53Speaker 19: I bring that up because what's the big issue of
- 58:55Speaker 19: the day today? The big A word, affordability.
- 58:58Speaker 2: That's hard.
- 58:59Speaker 19: Yeah, that's all the Democrats talk about.
- 59:01Speaker 6: Affordability.
- 59:02Speaker 19: Trump is not making anything affordable. Well, then you look
- 59:04Speaker 19: at the 50 states, and the five states with the
- 59:07Speaker 19: highest cost of living and the least affordability are New York, Hawaii, California,
- 59:12Speaker 19: New Jersey, and Massachusetts. And the five states with the
- 59:15Speaker 19: most affordability and the lowest cost are, let's see, Alabama, Oklahoma, Idaho, Arkansas,
- 59:22Speaker 19: and Utah. So it turns out there's almost a direct correlation.
- 59:27Speaker 19: The more democratic a state is in terms of their
- 59:30Speaker 19: control of their, you know, legislature and governorship, the more
- 59:34Speaker 19: likely they have out-of-control costs.
- 59:37Speaker 2: Well, that's how we get people here in New York
- 59:39Speaker 2: who say, I'm paying so much for gas because of Iran.
- 59:42Speaker 2: They don't realize it's because of Hochul. It's because of
- 59:44Speaker 2: the state legislature that you're paying more in New York
- 59:47Speaker 2: because it's New York and you've got taxes and fees. Exactly.
- 59:50Speaker 19: Yep, yep, yep. And same thing, by the way, California
- 59:53Speaker 19: pays about $ 6 a gallon for gas. They pay $ 1. 50
- 59:57Speaker 19: more than the national average because of all the regulations
- 59:59Speaker 19: and taxes.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: Yeah. And a lot of this is green scheme stuff
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: where it drives up the price of gas. But you
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: wrote about that yesterday. They call it the green scheme,
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: but it really was because a lot of people profiteered
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: off it, didn't they?
- 1:00:15Speaker 19: Boy, it's amazing how many people got rich. It's a
- 1:00:18Speaker 19: green scheme, and the green is money, not green environmental policy.
- 1:00:22Speaker 19: And people did get rich. And we spent hundreds and
- 1:00:25Speaker 19: hundreds of billions of dollars on these programs. And a
- 1:00:28Speaker 19: lot of it just went into the bank accounts of
- 1:00:30Speaker 19: liberal activists, some of these liberal hedge funds. Right on
- 1:00:34Speaker 19: the week or two before Biden left office, they approved
- 1:00:39Speaker 19: a multibillion-dollar giveaway of basically money to all the green groups.
- 1:00:45Speaker 19: Lord knows what they did with the money. They didn't
- 1:00:48Speaker 19: exactly change the temperature of the planet.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: Hey, and if you believe in windmills or whatever it is,
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: all you have to do is watch Europe. who tried
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: it for a couple years. What was the result when
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: they tried it?
- 1:01:01Speaker 19: Yeah, it's actually a tragedy. You know what country moved
- 1:01:06Speaker 19: most aggressively to the green energy stuff?
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Was it Germany?
- 1:01:11Speaker 19: Yeah, Germany. Germany was, throughout the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s,
- 1:01:16Speaker 19: we always talked about German manufacturing and they had the
- 1:01:19Speaker 19: Mercedes-Benz and were one of the lead industrial countries. And Germany,
- 1:01:26Speaker 19: by switching from natural gas and oil and coal to windmills,
- 1:01:30Speaker 19: they basically deindustrialized that country. It's actually very sad. Most
- 1:01:35Speaker 19: of the companies that made stuff in Germany either folded
- 1:01:39Speaker 19: or moved out.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: And didn't they have to start tearing down those windmills
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: because they just didn't provide enough to meet anything?
- 1:01:46Speaker 19: Yeah, who would have ever thought using 15th century energy
- 1:01:50Speaker 19: wasn't going to work very well? But, you know, it's true.
- 1:01:54Speaker 19: And now they're finally saying, maybe we better go back
- 1:01:59Speaker 19: to using natural gas. By the way, we do have
- 1:02:02Speaker 19: clean coal in this country, and we should rebuild our
- 1:02:04Speaker 19: coal plants because we're going to need a lot more
- 1:02:06Speaker 19: energy in the future. And we do have the cleanest
- 1:02:09Speaker 19: coal in the world. While China is building 100 new
- 1:02:11Speaker 19: coal plants, we shut ours down. But natural gas... That's
- 1:02:15Speaker 19: the cleanest energy you can have. And they stopped using
- 1:02:18Speaker 19: natural gas.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: And nuclear energy, also very clean.
- 1:02:22Speaker 18: Right.
- 1:02:22Speaker 19: And so nuclear, you know, I'm one of these people
- 1:02:25Speaker 19: who just says, look, let's get the first of all,
- 1:02:27Speaker 19: let's get the government out of the way. And let's
- 1:02:29Speaker 19: just use whatever energy makes sense. Now, look, if you
- 1:02:32Speaker 19: live in Phoenix, Arizona. Yes, solar power probably makes a
- 1:02:37Speaker 19: lot of sense. It's 110 degrees there with a blazing sun,
- 1:02:42Speaker 19: so you can capture a lot of energy. But I
- 1:02:44Speaker 19: don't think New York gets a lot of energy from
- 1:02:47Speaker 19: solar power. So you can use these things, but they're
- 1:02:51Speaker 19: niche levels of power. So, for example, after spending hundreds
- 1:02:54Speaker 19: and hundreds of billions of dollars... on windmills and solar panels,
- 1:02:58Speaker 19: today we get maybe 5% or 6% of our energy
- 1:03:01Speaker 19: from wind and solar. So it's a very poor source
- 1:03:07Speaker 19: of energy. We still get most of our energy from,
- 1:03:09Speaker 19: you know, it's about 75%. And you still have these
- 1:03:13Speaker 19: nitwits out there saying, zero fossil fuels, get rid of energy. Well,
- 1:03:17Speaker 19: how are we going to? Our factories, our schools, our
- 1:03:20Speaker 19: data centers, our, you know.
- 1:03:22Speaker 8: The Internet.
- 1:03:23Speaker 19: How are we going to power that without energy that works?
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: Hey, Steve Moore, explain the battle with Canada. What are
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: we fighting over? I mean, they were kind of unfair
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: with their tariffs, weren't they?
- 1:03:36Speaker 19: Yeah, but we have something in our hotline today. I
- 1:03:39Speaker 19: hope all your listeners are getting that. Just go to
- 1:03:40Speaker 19: UnleashPosperity.com and you get it for free. It's a free
- 1:03:43Speaker 19: newsletter every morning. It's a bad fight for Trump to
- 1:03:48Speaker 19: pick right now. I don't think he should have picked
- 1:03:49Speaker 19: this fight. Canada is our most important trading partner. By
- 1:03:53Speaker 19: the way, a lot of people don't realize that Canada
- 1:03:55Speaker 19: and Mexico are our two biggest trading partners, much more
- 1:03:58Speaker 19: so than China. I bet if you asked the person,
- 1:04:00Speaker 19: people on the street, who do we trade most with,
- 1:04:01Speaker 19: I think most people would say China. I would have
- 1:04:03Speaker 19: said that. myself until I looked at the numbers. So China,
- 1:04:08Speaker 19: I mean, Canada, Mexico are really critical trading partners for
- 1:04:11Speaker 19: the United States. We all benefit. I've always loved that
- 1:04:14Speaker 19: idea of North America, you know, down to the furthest
- 1:04:17Speaker 19: South in Mexico, up to the furthest North in Canada
- 1:04:20Speaker 19: being a, you know, a free trade zone where we
- 1:04:22Speaker 19: dominate the world in terms of agriculture, energy, and technology.
- 1:04:26Speaker 19: So I think these, these tariffs are, are a mistake.
- 1:04:31Speaker 19: And I think we should, you know, because, you know,
- 1:04:33Speaker 19: you have tariffs, That's not going to make things cheaper
- 1:04:36Speaker 19: here in the United States. It's going to add to costs.
- 1:04:38Speaker 19: So hopefully we get this thing resolved. But it is
- 1:04:40Speaker 19: true that, you know, Trump is right, that Canada does
- 1:04:42Speaker 19: cheat on some of these deals. And they do impose
- 1:04:45Speaker 19: very high tariffs on our agriculture and our farmers and
- 1:04:49Speaker 19: our dairy farmers, et cetera. So he wants a better deal.
- 1:04:51Speaker 19: I just don't think right now is probably the best
- 1:04:53Speaker 19: time for this.
- 1:04:54Speaker 18: All right.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: But we've got to stop. When it comes to Trump,
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: we love him. But you've got to stop saying, I
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: wish you wouldn't pick this fight. He picks every fight.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: He'll have a thousand fights going at once. That's just
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: his style.
- 1:05:04Speaker 19: And that's, you know, that's the old saying, you never
- 1:05:06Speaker 19: want to fight a multi, you know, that's, I think,
- 1:05:08Speaker 19: what the Germans and all these other countries have learned over,
- 1:05:11Speaker 19: you know, you want to, you don't want to have
- 1:05:13Speaker 19: a multi-front, you know, war either with weapons or in
- 1:05:18Speaker 19: trade at the same time. And so, but look, economy,
- 1:05:22Speaker 19: I've got to say this loud and clear on your show.
- 1:05:24Speaker 19: I said it on Kudlow's show last night. I mean,
- 1:05:25Speaker 19: the American economy is the best in the world. Now,
- 1:05:28Speaker 19: do we have problems?
- 1:05:29Speaker 27: Yes.
- 1:05:29Speaker 19: Is inflation too high?
- 1:05:30Speaker 20: Yes, absolutely.
- 1:05:31Speaker 19: We're now running at 3.5%. We've got to get it
- 1:05:33Speaker 19: boiled down to less than 1.5%. But every country in
- 1:05:37Speaker 19: the world would gladly trade places with the United States.
- 1:05:40Speaker 19: I mean, we have record high stock market. We've got
- 1:05:44Speaker 19: more jobs available than people to fill them. How about
- 1:05:48Speaker 19: the fact crime is down? in virtually every major city,
- 1:05:51Speaker 19: thanks to Trump's tough-on-crime stance. I mean, I could go
- 1:05:54Speaker 19: on and on. There's a lot going well in the
- 1:05:56Speaker 19: United States, but the media just never reports it.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: Yeah, well, they report the opposite. Economic crisis and affordability crisis.
- 1:06:02Speaker 19: Yeah, you'd think we were in a Great Depression or
- 1:06:04Speaker 19: something like that if you watched the CNN and so on.
- 1:06:07Speaker 19: And yet, you know, by the way, incomes have been
- 1:06:09Speaker 19: growing faster, just except for the last couple months where
- 1:06:12Speaker 19: we saw a pickup in inflation. Most American families actually
- 1:06:16Speaker 19: have more income disposable income than they had before Trump
- 1:06:21Speaker 19: was elected. So even that idea that, oh, nobody can
- 1:06:24Speaker 19: afford everything, well, the average family in the United States
- 1:06:27Speaker 19: is struggling, obviously, to pay some of these bills.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: I mean, ground beef.
- 1:06:31Speaker 19: Have you tried to buy a hamburger lately? You know,
- 1:06:33Speaker 19: those costs are high. But we're doing well. We're out-competing
- 1:06:38Speaker 19: our neighbors. And the worst possible thing to do would
- 1:06:40Speaker 19: be elect a bunch of Democrat socialists that are going
- 1:06:43Speaker 19: to raise taxes on everybody.
- 1:06:44Speaker 20: Yeah.

- 1:07:22Speaker 2: at six. Jimmy Fela, it's a very funny, great show
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: every night at nine. And he'll be with us in
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: the next hour. We'll talk to him. And I'm here
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: now nine to noon, nine to noon, three hours every
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: day now, On 710WOR.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: Now 9 till noon weekday.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: Mark Simone.
- 1:07:41Speaker 18: More Mark.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: On 710WOR.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: Hey, so the forecast was for a lot of rain
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: this afternoon and tonight and a lot of flooding and
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: all that, but I'm watching it carefully. It's backing off
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: a little, just a little. About 3 o'clock, 4 o'clock,
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: you'll see some rain. about a half inch total, a
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: good chance of rain around 3 or 4 o'clock. But
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: then that's it until about 8 o'clock and just one
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: brief thunderstorm, about 8 o'clock, and that'll be less rain.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: So it's really about 3 or 4 o'clock that it
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: could come down pretty hard, so be careful then. But
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: then it stops, and then 5 to 8, you're pretty
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: much clear, hopefully. But just keep an eye on that.
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: It's the kind of rain where you get that flooding
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: on the parkways, the subways, that kind of stuff. But
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: the forecast has been backing off a little. Hopefully it'll
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: keep backing off in the next couple hours. Hey, we've
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: got a lot to get to in the next hour.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: Don't forget, I'm here every day, 9 to noon. It's
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: now a three-hour show, 9 a.m. to 12 noon. And
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: if you listen to the podcast, you get three hours now.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: And don't forget, if you're a podcast listener, you get
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: a bonus show on the weekend. I'll be back right
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: after the.
- 1:08:57Speaker 12: News, 710WOR.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: Mark Simone, live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: Hey, it's hour number three.
- 1:09:11Speaker 18: That's right.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: Three hours every day. We start at 9 o'clock every morning.
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: It's 9 to noon. So in Nashville, there's a big
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: movement now to rename the airport after Dolly Parton. Sounds
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: pretty good. Dolly Parton International Airport, Nashville, Tennessee. But she
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: was great. But, you know, you got a lot of
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: people there that came out of Nashville. You got Johnny Cash.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: You got all those. And Nashville now is one of
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: the big, major cities in America. If you haven't been
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: there in years, it is. It is just a big, huge, uh, uh,
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: booming city. Now Dolly Parton, a lot of younger artists
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: were really inspired by her, uh, and, great students at
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: Dolly Parton, Harry Styles, opening at a MSG Madison square garden,
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: opening his residency last night, surprised fans by doing a,
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: a huge, uh, Dolly Parton tribute. Katy Perry, same thing
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: in Los Angeles gave a gushing tribute to, um, to
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: Dolly Parton. She meant a lot to a lot of people.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: Let me play this again. We're playing this every hour.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: Every hour. We want celebrities, singers, people in the entertainment
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: business to listen to this. Dolly Parton was a genius
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: at not just songwriting, but career management. That's why she
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: stayed popular for so long. That's why after her death,
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: you've heard nothing but gushing tributes. Nobody's got a bad
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: word to say about Dolly Parton. Nobody's got a negative thought.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: This is one reason why she stayed the hell away
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: from politicians. The Clintons a couple of times wanted to
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: have her come to some event or something, and she
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: didn't want to be in a picture with them. Donald
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: Trump twice tried to give her the Medal of Freedom.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: She just kind of stayed away. Well, one time it
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: was the pandemic, and the other time she said her
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: husband was just too sick and she couldn't leave. But
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: here's a good example. This is right after, remember the
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Billy Bush tape on the bus, the Billy Bush tape? Well,
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: that was pretty bad. And this interviewer then tries to
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: get Dolly Parton to comment on it, but she would
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: never talk about politics.
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: We have a president of the United States who said
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: those things on that bus.
- 1:11:29Speaker 5: I'm not addressing that. I do not get into that.
- 1:11:32Speaker 5: Of course, I have my opinion about everybody and everything.
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: But I learned a long time ago, keep your damn
- 1:11:38Speaker 5: mouth shut if you want to stay in show business.
- 1:11:39Speaker 7: I'm not in politics.
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: I'm an entertainer.
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: And yet you're also a role model.
- 1:11:44Speaker 6: Yes, I am.
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: That's why I don't.
- 1:11:46Speaker 7: Talk about people.
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: So if you are deciding you may want to ask
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: me something more serious, don't, because I'm not going.
- 1:11:51Speaker 7: To answer it.
- 1:11:53Speaker 9: Fair point.
- 1:11:53Speaker 7: I might still ask.
- 1:11:54Speaker 5: Well, you can ask, but I might still tell you
- 1:11:56Speaker 5: where to put it.
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: Good for her. Very important rule. All you entertainers out
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: there listening, stay the hell away from politics. Hey, it's
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: nine weeks until the midterms.
- 1:12:08Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: It's just nine weeks away. Got a lot of crazy
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: candidates out there. You got this guy, Telerico, running a crazy, crazy,
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: crazy ad. President Trump commenting about his crazy ad.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: The Democrats have a weird, a weird cat today.
- 1:12:26Speaker 13: God is non-binary. There are many more than two biological sexes.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: In fact, there are six.
- 1:12:34Speaker 13: It is now existential that We try to reduce our
- 1:12:37Speaker 13: meat consumption. The American flag is such a complicated symbol
- 1:12:41Speaker 13: for most of us. Prophetic voices like Jesus have helped
- 1:12:43Speaker 13: me reckon with my own whiteness, my own masculinity. Our
- 1:12:47Speaker 13: southern border should be like our front porch. There should
- 1:12:50Speaker 13: be a giant welcome mat out front.
- 1:12:53Speaker 20: Okay.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: Again, I think the Democrats are going to be quite
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: surprised in November as how this registers with normal people.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: You know, that's the problem with a lot of these Democrats.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: They They live in their own little bubble, no contact
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: with normal Americans and how they really feel. Now, Jill Biden,
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: Joe Biden, they've been known for years as the biggest
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: liars in politics. And every politician, Republican and Democrat will
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: tell you these two are the biggest liars ever. So
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: she does a podcast called You know, a lot of
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: people shouldn't be doing these things, especially if you're a liar,
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: if you've got stuff you're covering up. It's one thing
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: to do a five-minute radio interview, but do a podcast
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: where you've got to open up and talk for 90 minutes.
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: It's too revealing. And she's on the Jamie Kern Lima show.
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: Does anybody know what that is? That's how well she's doing.
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: You'll notice she's not on Joe Rogan for two hours.
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: And you'll notice she's not on any big shows. She's
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: on the Jamie Kern Lima show. Now, if somebody walked
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: in here and said, Jamie Kern Lima would like to
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: get you on her podcast, I would tell them to leave.
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: I don't know what that is and I don't want
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: to know. But apparently in Delaware, the phone rang and
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: somebody said to Jill Biden, hey, they want you on
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: the Jamie Kern Lima show. And she said, what time?
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: I'll do it. And there she is. So she talked
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: at great length. She was asked about whether she was
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: like Lady Macbeth pushing Joe Biden, pushing him to spend
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: four more years in the White House. Well, actually, we
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: know she was, and that's what she was accused of.
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: She was accused of elder abuse. I mean, this guy
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: was in bad shape. Remember the cabinet meeting where he
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: couldn't even talk? She had to run the meeting. Remember
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: him trying to walk off stage? He had to make
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: an announcement. They'd write it out for him in big letters,
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: and he'd read it slowly, and then He'd turn around,
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: and he couldn't figure out how to get off stage.
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: And remember, he'd bump into the wall, and remember, he'd
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: stick his hand out and shake hands with thin air.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: There was nobody there. I mean, she should have, in
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: the middle of the term, early in the term, had
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: him resign or something, just have him step down. But
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: she pushed him into running again, kept him in the race. Remember,
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: he was running. He was a full campaign. Dead serious,
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: full campaign for president. Even agreed to a debate. He
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: even did debate prep for a couple weeks. Then he
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: went on the debate and he was a frozen vegetable.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: He was a babbling yo-yo. And it was so bad
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: that it was apparent to everybody that he was out
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: of it and he had to drop out of the race.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: So they pushed him out of the race. So, you know,
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: of course, on the podcast, she makes up a whole
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: different story about how she wanted him to drop out.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: She says she hopes one day the true story of
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: what happened will come out. You know, she better hope not.
- 1:15:58Speaker 28: Yeah.
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: She better hope that never comes out. She criticized negative
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: people who disparaged the Biden family. People put whatever twist
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: they want on it. Mostly it's negative. Yeah, unlike Donald Trump.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: You never hear anybody say anything negative about Donald Trump.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: She said she declined to give any advice. She said
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: when Joe asked whether he should stay in the race,
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: she declined to give any advice. Yeah, right. You ever
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: been around her? She gives you advice on everything. You
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: don't even have to ask. She's just a yenta who
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: never stops giving you advice, talking, telling you what to do.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: She said, Joe asked her at one point, I said, Joe,
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: you got to make this decision yourself. Whatever decision is made,
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: you have to be able to live with it. Now,
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: even if you don't know Jill Biden, Go watch any
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: time where the two of them are in front of
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: reporters and he starts to answer and she jumps in
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: and answers for him. She's always telling this guy what
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: to do. Never, ever in her life did this woman
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: ever say to anybody, oh, I don't know. You have
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: to make the decision. She's always telling him what to do.
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: So it's a big thing for, what's her name? Jamie
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: Kern Lima show to get Jill Biden on. But hey,
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: I know if I'm, walking around this pumpkin spice stuff
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: is everywhere everywhere you go pumpkin spice this pumpkin spice
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: that what's the it's august it's august 27th so according
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: to this uh business report yes they are doing it
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: earlier than usual it's never this early it's never happened
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: this early earliest launch ever duncan is launching the whole
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: fall menu august 19th that's the earliest ever Starbucks brought
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: it back. The whole pumpkin spice nonsense all started on
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: August 25th. That is the earliest ever. You know, the
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: Philadelphia Eagles, apparently they need a new stadium and they're
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: threatening to move out of Philadelphia, suburbs or something. Their
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: lease at Lincoln Financial Field is up. Well, it's not
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: for six years, but they're already negotiating. know you threaten
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: to move you threaten to leave and then they make
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: a deal to get you a better stadium all that
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: so Governor Shapiro vows he'll keep the Phillies in Philadelphia
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: he will not let them leave but that's common you
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: do that to negotiate Steinbrenner did that one year with
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: remember he was moving to New Jersey although he really
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: was moving actually at one point I was there from
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: a lot of that yeah he was moving. And he
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: was going to go to the Meadowlands. The Yankees were
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: going to go there. And the final meeting was with
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: the governor. It was Jim Florio at the time. And
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: it was George Steinbrenner, Larry Fisher. Bill Fugazi, some baseball players.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: They took a helicopter. They went over there to the
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: governor's mansion. And they met with Florio. And he said,
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: why should we bring the Yankees here? And Steinberg goes, what?
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: I got to beg you? And they all just turned
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: around and left. Got on the helicopter and left. Boy,
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: that flood in Nepal, the China-Nepal border. Boy, if you
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: see that video, it is frightening. An enormous wall of water, $ 100.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: It's hundreds of feet high, just wipes out a whole town.
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: Scary stuff. It's killed, so far, we think 175 are dead,
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: including 50 Americans. Now, this is Nepal, and there's a
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: big Nepalese community in Queens, so these would be people
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: from there, most likely. Just a brutal situation. Chinese leader
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: Xi Jinping said there'll be an all-out search effort And
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: they'll do everything they can. If you're counting on Xi
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: Jinping to help you out, you're in real trouble. That's
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: not going to go well if you're really depending on him. Hey,
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: the PGA has suspended a golfer for betting on golf.
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: Can you imagine trying to bet on golf? Boy, that
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: is not easy to do. You know, that's one thing
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: about golf. You know, the Yankees get on a winning streak.
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: Football team's on a winning streak. They're having a big season.
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: You can't predict anything with golf because whoever wins the
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: big tournament that week, wins the PGA, the big winner
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: of the week, the guy never wins again for like months.
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: Study the history of this. Whoever wins big, it's always
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: never him again the next week. There's nobody ever winning
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: weeks in a row because you can never predict. If
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: you're a golfer, you know what I mean. You go
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: out there one day, it's unbelievable the way you're hitting
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: the ball. You go out the next day, Everything's terrible.
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: You just can't predict golf. But this guy's Matt Gogol,
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: suspended for six months for placing bets on PGA Tour events.
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: He said he never bet on any tour he was in,
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: any tournament he was in. Well, that doesn't help. Oh, hey,
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: you remember speaking of sports. You remember that owner of
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: the 49ers? This is the guy that got caught going
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: to a prostitute. It was pretty sleazy because he's a billionaire.
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: He's worth about $ 6 billion in the 49 owners, Jed York.
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: Now the guy's worth 6 billion. If you own, if
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: you own a team, you are an NFL owner. You
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: also got 6 billion. You'd think it'd be pretty easy
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: to find some women. Wouldn't you? You think it'd be
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: pretty easy. If you're looking for sex, you're an NFL
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: team owner. You got 6 billion. Well, this guy goes
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: to a trailer park. He saw something online, uh, prostitute
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: 140 bucks way out somewhere in a trailer park now
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: what the hell is this six billion dollar guy doing
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: going to this trailer park well he gets there and
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: he'd been back and forth texting with the woman online
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: he gets there and it's a sting operation it's cops
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: it's a sting operation they arrest him turns out the
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: guy running this sting operation is a pretty clever guy
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: uh i don't think this has really been made public
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: but what was he going all the way out there
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: for Is he got like a fetish for Roseanne types
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: and he goes to trailer parks? No, it turns out, uh,
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: this was going to be a mother daughter thing. That
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: was this guy's fetish. I didn't realize this is apparently
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: it's a big fetish. Like if you go to porn sites,
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: that's a big category, mother daughter. So it's a big
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: fetish to sleep with a mother and daughter at the
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: same time. So that's, uh, why he was, uh, willing
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: to go all the way out to this trailer park.
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: It was mother daughters. Oh God. And, uh, now if
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: you think about that, well, if it's a mother and daughter,
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: that's two people, 140 bucks. That means it's $ 70 a person.
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: What kind of prostitute are you getting for $ 70? Uh, anyway,
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: he got arrested. He's a powerful NFL owner with billions
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: of dollars. Now I'm a great lawyer. So then reduce
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: the charges legally. He'll, uh, He's gotten reduced to disorderly conduct.
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: He's going to pay a fine. It's not going to
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: go to prison. But now his problem is the NFL.
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: The NFL is now looking at it. Roger Goodell says
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: they're investigating. He said so far they haven't found the
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: actual violation of the rules. But he said there is
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: a rule on conduct. off-field conduct. So he is going
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: to probably have a problem with that. So we'll see
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: if this guy, it's usually up to the other owners.
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: I know there's a commissioner and everything, but all the
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: other owners, it's like a cartel. They all get together
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: and decide. So it depends. If they really like this guy,
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: they'll give him a pass. If they don't like this guy,
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: he'll be forced to sell the team. And I don't
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: know that much about it. If he's liked by other owners,
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: they'll fight for him. If he's not likely to be
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: their owner, they'll use this as an excuse to get
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: him out of there. Hey, we'll take some calls next.
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: 800-321-0710 is the number. 800-321-0710. The Mark Simone Show.
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: Now nine till noon weekdays.
- 1:24:38Speaker 14: On 710WOR.
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Dan in Queens. Dan,
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 1:24:47Speaker 9: Good, Mark.
- 1:24:48Speaker 6: I wanted to mention to you, we're with the prostitution
- 1:24:51Speaker 6: on Roosevelt and 82nd Street. Been going on for a while. Young, Asian,
- 1:24:58Speaker 6: look like Chinese girls, no English, under 18, with a
- 1:25:04Speaker 6: big fat mama's son doing the business for them.
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: Well, no English. What, are you going to have a
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: conversation with her? How much do you pay for that, Dan?
- 1:25:11Speaker 6: I'm just saying. No, but how much is that?
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: The whole street in Queens with these products. But how much,
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: like this guy in the trailer park, it's $ 140. That's
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: pretty cheap, isn't it?
- 1:25:26Speaker 6: Yeah, this mama-sama must want $ 500. Oh, really? Yeah, and
- 1:25:31Speaker 6: the cops were out there yesterday. Two cops in front
- 1:25:34Speaker 6: of the entrance of their second floor place right in front.
- 1:25:38Speaker 6: It's closed. A lot of complaints. They're so young, Mark,
- 1:25:41Speaker 6: you know, and they're illegal.
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: Hey, now, let's be honest. When you walk down the street,
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: do they all say, hey, Dan, hi, Dan?
- 1:25:48Speaker 6: They say, Grandpa, can you do it?
- 1:25:49Speaker 18: Oh, all right.
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: All right, Dan, thanks for calling. That's like the old
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: joke that Joe Biden says to them, how much? And
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: she says, forget it. You've had it. Oh, how much
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: do I owe you? So let's go to Mike in Portchester. Mike,
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 1:26:09Speaker 6: All right, Mark, how's it going?
- 1:26:10Speaker 8: Good.
- 1:26:10Speaker 21: All right, listen, you were talking about the season, and
- 1:26:16Speaker 21: I was in Costco the other day. They got skeletons
- 1:26:20Speaker 21: and everything all over the place.
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: Yeah, the Halloween stuff's already out.
- 1:26:25Speaker 21: I worked in retail, you know?
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: You did?
- 1:26:28Speaker 21: Grants and.
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: Grants, WT Grants. That was an old department store.
- 1:26:33Speaker 20: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: And where else did you work?
- 1:26:35Speaker 21: And the thing was.
- 1:26:36Speaker 19: Huh? Huh?
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: I said, where else did you work?
- 1:26:40Speaker 20: Bloomingdale's.
- 1:26:41Speaker 21: I helped open the one in White Plains.
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: The one in White Plains is spectacular.
- 1:26:47Speaker 21: Yeah, it's a great store.
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: It really is.
- 1:26:50Speaker 21: And I worked there for 15 years part-time.
- 1:26:54Speaker 18: Oh.
- 1:26:55Speaker 21: And I was a teacher during the day. But the
- 1:26:57Speaker 21: thing was that you had a demarcation of time, like
- 1:27:03Speaker 21: for Christmas. It was the day after Thanksgiving. Yeah. So
- 1:27:07Speaker 21: we had to work until like 1 o'clock in the morning,
- 1:27:10Speaker 21: dressing the place up for Christmas.
- 1:27:14Speaker 18: Oh, all right.
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: Well, you know. Yeah, now, listen. Yeah, you're right. Day
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: after Thanksgiving, we'll start the Christmas season. Now it starts mid-September.
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: Already Halloween stuff is up. It's ridiculous. That Bloomingdale's in
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: White Plains is perfect because it's an enormous store. It's
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: as big as the New York store. And it's a
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: massive parking lot right around it. You drive right up,
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: park your car, walk right in, come out, get right
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: in your car. You know, the problem with these malls,
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: some of these malls, you got to drive into a garage.
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: You got to get a ticket. You got to stand
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: at a kiosk for five minutes. Then you got to,
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: you go to the mall, you don't really buy anything.
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: You just want to leave. And now you got to pay.
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: It's ridiculous. These malls are all dying. You should pay
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: everybody $ 5 to come into the mall. We have to
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: pay to park. That's why the Bloomingdale's is great. Walt
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: Whitman Mall is great. The Americana. You can just pull
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: in and park. Don't have to get a ticket. Don't
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: have to pay. Let's go to Dennis in Long Island. Dennis,
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 1:28:18Speaker 9: I'm well. Good morning.
- 1:28:20Speaker 28: I've got a question regarding this DA from Philadelphia, Larry Krasner.
- 1:28:24Speaker 28: He's saying some real dangerous and inflammatory stuff towards Trump.
- 1:28:29Speaker 28: How come this guy is still walking around? I mean,
- 1:28:32Speaker 28: you know, why aren't the feds investigating him?
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: Well, so far it's legal what he's doing. It's terrible,
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: but it's likely. James you know and the other problem
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: is you get her on something goes before a crazy
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: district judge who's a left wing guy and throws the
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: case out you know they pretty much had her on
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: that mortgage fraud but you know you get to one
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: of those crazy judges they throw it out let's go
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: to Ralph in Manhattan Ralph how you doing.
- 1:28:59Speaker 18: Great, Mark. You know, Philly's notorious for the worst fans
- 1:29:03Speaker 18: in sports. I mean, they are next to no one.
- 1:29:07Speaker 18: I mean, they used to have a jail, Mark, right
- 1:29:10Speaker 18: in Veterans Stadium, just for convenience sake.
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: Yeah, most stadiums have a jail in the stadium because
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: they have to hold the guys until the police get there.
- 1:29:21Speaker 18: Yeah, back when you didn't see that too often, it
- 1:29:25Speaker 18: was very interesting to watch. But, you know, when Steinbrenner
- 1:29:29Speaker 18: threatened to go to New Jersey, he was taken seriously.
- 1:29:33Speaker 18: New Yorkers kind of went into a panic during that period,
- 1:29:36Speaker 18: and they wanted their beloved Yankees to stay put right
- 1:29:39Speaker 18: where they were. Then they went and built that other ballpark,
- 1:29:42Speaker 18: which they never needed. That original Yankee stadium was so great, Mark. Well,
- 1:29:47Speaker 18: they did need the new ballpark. You think so?
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: I know. So if I had George was a good
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: friend of mine and I explained it all to me once,
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: the real reason it has nothing to do with a
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: better field or more seats. It has nothing. You remember
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: they built that new stadium in Baltimore. That was the first.
- 1:30:04Speaker 26: All right.
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: Well, they, they put in that new stadium, a lot
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: of stores, a lot of restaurants, a lot of stuff.
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: And they found that people came to the game three
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: hours early and spent a fortune in the stores, the restaurants,
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: the bars. And when the game was over, they stayed
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: an extra couple hours. And on the way out, spent
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: a lot of money in the bars, the restaurants, the mall,
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: the shopping, the souvenir. So they realized you could make
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: double your money. You could get the money from the
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: game and you could get the money from the shopping
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: and all that and the eating. So every stadium had
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: to all of a sudden have a mall in it,
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: had to have a lot of restaurants, had to have
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: a lot of. stuff in it, and that's why they
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: all started rebuilding. That was the real reason.
- 1:30:44Speaker 18: It sounds like a Cohen situation at Citi Field because
- 1:30:48Speaker 18: he's got the casino going, everything around the ballpark. He
- 1:30:51Speaker 18: did away with the chop shops, which was a good idea.
- 1:30:55Speaker 18: It sounds like he's more interested in all these ancillary
- 1:30:58Speaker 18: things more so than the Mets.
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: Yeah, he is. Because they're all smart business people. I
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: remember Bob Kraft when he built the stadium in Foxboro.
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: Right next door, what did he build? Like a Patriots
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: mall where you can eat, drink, spend money. Now, it's
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: good for the fan because you remember when the game
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: let out, you were stuck in a nightmare of traffic.
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: Everybody left at once. But with all the bars, restaurants, stores, everything,
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: not everybody leaves at once. So there's never the same
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: kind of traffic jam. Hey, when we come back, the
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: very funny Jimmy Fallon. We'll talk to him next on 710WOR.
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: 710WOR' s Mark Simone Show continues now.
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: Well, Jimmy Fallon, a great talk show host, one of
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: the funniest comedians in America. And he's on WOR every night,
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: 9 to midnight. You can listen to him here every weeknight,
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: and you should. You'll get hooked on his show, 9
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: to midnight on WOR. And then you've got to watch
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: his Saturday night TV show. It's the best late night
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: show on television. Every Saturday night, 10 o'clock, Fox News Channel.
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: Single best monologue in television. And you can actually be
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: there live in the audience. We'll tell you how in
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: a few minutes. Jimmy Fela, how are you doing?
- 1:32:13Speaker 20: You know what?
- 1:32:13Speaker 10: I'm good, but I'm up to my eyeballs this week
- 1:32:15Speaker 10: because I have Neil deGrasse Tyson back on the show.
- 1:32:19Speaker 20: And there's about a 2,000-point IQ.
- 1:32:21Speaker 12: Gap between Neil deGrasse Tyson and me.
- 1:32:25Speaker 10: Like, this guy spent his whole life studying constellations like
- 1:32:29Speaker 10: Orion the Hunter.
- 1:32:30Speaker 20: I've been partying like Hunter Biden.
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: Yeah, well.
- 1:32:33Speaker 18: You know?
- 1:32:33Speaker 12: So I don't know how this is.
- 1:32:34Speaker 10: Going to go, Mark, but I'm happy to be back
- 1:32:37Speaker 10: with you.
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: Where I belong. Ah, when it comes to physics, my
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: money's on you. What does he know? Hey, we were
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: just talking about this guy owns the 49ers. He owns
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: the football team. He's got $ 6 billion in cash. And
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: he's going to a trailer park for a $ 140 hooker.
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: What goes through this guy's head? What does he think?
- 1:33:00Speaker 10: As far as the hooker goes, I do believe the
- 1:33:03Speaker 10: 49ers are happy to have someone taking a knee besides
- 1:33:06Speaker 10: Colin Kaepernick for the progress there. But, you know, I
- 1:33:11Speaker 10: keep trying to remind people of this. There are certain
- 1:33:13Speaker 10: things in life you don't want too cheap. Okay, $ 140
- 1:33:18Speaker 10: poker is probably one of them. You know, remember those
- 1:33:24Speaker 10: old ads for the $ 100.
- 1:33:25Speaker 20: Laser eye surgery?
- 1:33:26Speaker 10: Like, it sounds fun until you see the cross-eyed doctor walk.
- 1:33:29Speaker 20: Into the room.
- 1:33:30Speaker 12: And you're like, maybe this.
- 1:33:31Speaker 10: Isn't the bargain I thought it was. But I love
- 1:33:34Speaker 10: this story so much.
- 1:33:35Speaker 20: What a dirtbag. And he was wearing a Yankee shirt.
- 1:33:37Speaker 20: Did you see that?
- 1:33:37Speaker 18: No.
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: A Yankee shirt?
- 1:33:41Speaker 10: Of all things, he's wearing a Yankee shirt and shorts
- 1:33:45Speaker 10: when he gets pulled over by the cop, although that
- 1:33:48Speaker 10: might have not been the most incriminating accessory. He also
- 1:33:50Speaker 10: had a wedding ring on, which I would imagine he
- 1:33:53Speaker 10: might not be wearing today.
- 1:33:56Speaker 20: But holy hell.
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: Now, they have made this public, but what I'm hearing
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: is the reason he went to the trailer park, it
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: was a mother-daughter thing, and apparently that was his fetish. Now,
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: that has got to be the worst. That's the worst
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: fetish you could have.
- 1:34:09Speaker 10: Yeah, because at a trailer park, if it's a mother-daughter thing,
- 1:34:13Speaker 10: at least one of them isn't of age.
- 1:34:14Speaker 12: That's not good, man.
- 1:34:18Speaker 19: That is not good.
- 1:34:19Speaker 20: But, you know, I got a lot of weird stuff
- 1:34:22Speaker 20: out there.
- 1:34:23Speaker 10: But what I'm, you know, again, everybody, I think it
- 1:34:25Speaker 10: comes back to the same shock, which is we saw
- 1:34:28Speaker 10: all the cash on him in the arrest video. We
- 1:34:30Speaker 10: know how much money he's worth. you know, why is
- 1:34:34Speaker 10: he doing that? And I, there must be something exciting
- 1:34:38Speaker 10: about taking the risk. I mean, that's the only thing
- 1:34:41Speaker 10: I can think of, you know, because everything else he's
- 1:34:44Speaker 10: doing would seemingly be doable in a very discreet fashion. Uh,
- 1:34:49Speaker 10: but you know, I guess either way you slice it,
- 1:34:51Speaker 10: they weren't kidding when they said the NFL is a
- 1:34:53Speaker 10: game of inches.
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: All right. Uh, Some people like, you know, remember Bob Kraft,
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: also a multi-billionaire, going to that dingy strip mall with
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: these old Asian masseuses to get whatever he was getting there.
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: I guess some people don't like fancy stuff, I guess.
- 1:35:15Speaker 10: They like to give back to the community. I mean,
- 1:35:17Speaker 10: let's not forget, East Palestine is where they had that
- 1:35:24Speaker 10: train derailment under Pete Booty Judge.
- 1:35:26Speaker 20: Do you remember that?
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
- 1:35:28Speaker 12: And, uh, that was, that was crazy.
- 1:35:30Speaker 20: That is on the way to my.
- 1:35:31Speaker 10: Wife's house in Wapakoneta. We have, you know, we drove
- 1:35:34Speaker 10: through East Palestine and, uh, it actually is a, you know,
- 1:35:37Speaker 10: they had this huge chemical spill, but it's a pretty
- 1:35:41Speaker 10: fun town. Like you haven't lived till you've pet a
- 1:35:43Speaker 10: three-eyed dog, like a lot of fun, you know, a
- 1:35:47Speaker 10: lot of fun local exhibits there that you don't see
- 1:35:49Speaker 10: anywhere else in the country. But, uh, maybe he saw
- 1:35:53Speaker 10: that town on the news and felt bad.
- 1:35:55Speaker 20: I don't know.
- 1:35:55Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:35:56Speaker 2: Next time visit the trailer park. Uh, apparently it's a
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: lot of fun there. It's the, um, She's had to
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: change the tires on the trailer like five times and
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: it hasn't gone anywhere. But now, hey, Fox News, the
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: most talked about event of the week has got to
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: be Abdul El-Sayed and Jesse Waters talking about circumcision. What
- 1:36:20Speaker 2: do you make of that? Did it help El-Sayed or
- 1:36:22Speaker 2: hurt him?
- 1:36:23Speaker 10: Well, I mean, listen, everybody thought it was comical. Abdul
- 1:36:27Speaker 10: wasn't kidding when he said he had a lot.
- 1:36:28Speaker 20: Of skin in the game. You know what's funny?
- 1:36:34Speaker 12: You just jogged my brain because I was thinking of
- 1:36:35Speaker 12: this earlier.
- 1:36:37Speaker 10: Someone has to tell the Democrats, this is not what
- 1:36:40Speaker 10: Trump meant by no tax on tips.
- 1:36:42Speaker 20: So, yeah, I don't know.
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: You're not going to hurt yourself with Democrats because they're
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: probably not watching. But I think independents, I think they've
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: had it with the LSAT. They realize the guy's just
- 1:37:01Speaker 2: a weirdo, don't they?
- 1:37:02Speaker 20: Yes.
- 1:37:03Speaker 10: Every one of these Democrats can't actually explain or justify
- 1:37:08Speaker 10: any of their policies. Like same with that moon bat
- 1:37:12Speaker 10: running down in Florida, Angelina Nixon. They asked her yesterday
- 1:37:14Speaker 10: about Medicare for all.
- 1:37:16Speaker 12: And they're like, well, we're, you know, $ 7 trillion budget.
- 1:37:19Speaker 12: you know, how would this affect things?
- 1:37:21Speaker 20: And she's like, well, I don't have the numbers on me.
- 1:37:24Speaker 12: I mean, you're not listening.
- 1:37:26Speaker 20: You're not supposed to say that you're supposed to lie.
- 1:37:29Speaker 22: You can say it'll go down and we'll save money.
- 1:37:32Speaker 12: Don't say that.
- 1:37:33Speaker 21: I don't know.
- 1:37:37Speaker 10: If you come home at two in the morning and
- 1:37:38Speaker 10: your wife goes, you're at a strip club.
- 1:37:40Speaker 20: You don't go, I don't remember.
- 1:37:42Speaker 12: That's not going to get you out.
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: Of trouble, man. Hey, um, Are you upset at the
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: loss of Meghan and Harry that they've left and gone
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: back to England?
- 1:37:52Speaker 20: Oh, I love this story so much.
- 1:37:54Speaker 10: We're going to talk about it on my show this
- 1:37:56Speaker 10: weekend because I'm obsessed with it because it really is.
- 1:38:00Speaker 10: I mean, in all honesty, we've had I don't know
- 1:38:02Speaker 10: how many years of Trump now, two years. This is
- 1:38:04Speaker 10: the first deportation everyone agreed with.
- 1:38:08Speaker 20: There's no protest. No one is yelling about Tom Holman
- 1:38:10Speaker 20: over this one. They were thrilled.
- 1:38:13Speaker 10: And you know what's funny about it?
- 1:38:14Speaker 12: We've been following this story because we work in media.
- 1:38:17Speaker 10: And I think we have a better appreciation of just
- 1:38:19Speaker 10: how ridiculous it is in that we've been covering them
- 1:38:23Speaker 10: since they quit the royal family, wrote a tell all book,
- 1:38:27Speaker 10: bashing the Royal family. And now I guess they're living by.
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: The old adage.
- 1:38:31Speaker 20: If you can't beat them, rejoin them.
- 1:38:33Speaker 12: Like how do they even justify this? They look like
- 1:38:36Speaker 12: clowns and no.
- 1:38:37Speaker 20: One's asking them to come back.
- 1:38:39Speaker 12: And I will tell you this, I'm definitely going to
- 1:38:41Speaker 12: bring this up on my show.
- 1:38:42Speaker 10: You know, Harry obviously has this, you know, Really sad
- 1:38:46Speaker 10: story about his mom died being chased by the paparazzi.
- 1:38:49Speaker 10: But now they're worried that the paparazzi is going to
- 1:38:51Speaker 10: get killed being chased by.
- 1:38:52Speaker 12: Meghan Markle, you know, because she wants attention.
- 1:38:55Speaker 20: You know that.
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: Well, if you're Prince Harry, the heir to the throne,
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: why would you marry this idiot that's got like 15th
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: billing on the show Suits a few years? I mean, what?
- 1:39:06Speaker 2: Couldn't he do better?
- 1:39:06Speaker 12: It's not even an A-list show.
- 1:39:12Speaker 10: You know, it's funny, Mark, you say that. I bet
- 1:39:14Speaker 10: you like Will and Kate said that to him at
- 1:39:16Speaker 10: some point. They're like, Harry, she's not even on network TV.
- 1:39:21Speaker 10: Come on, Harry.
- 1:39:23Speaker 6: We're the royal family.
- 1:39:25Speaker 20: I'm going to need somebody. That's hilarious.
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: But you're right.
- 1:39:29Speaker 10: And they probably saw the ambition on her. Because one
- 1:39:31Speaker 10: thing I'll tell you, If you're ever around really rich families,
- 1:39:36Speaker 10: like if they're celebrity families or just really affluent families,
- 1:39:40Speaker 10: they're very good at diagnosing someone in their ranks who's
- 1:39:44Speaker 10: trying to get over on them. Someone who's on the grift,
- 1:39:47Speaker 10: someone who's working at an angle.
- 1:39:49Speaker 12: They sniff that stuff out really well.
- 1:39:51Speaker 20: And I don't doubt if you're the royal family, you're probably.
- 1:39:53Speaker 10: Better at that than anybody because they're always worried about
- 1:39:57Speaker 10: people on the staff selling their pictures or their stories
- 1:40:00Speaker 10: to the press. So I would bet you, and that's
- 1:40:02Speaker 10: the way the story is told, is that within a
- 1:40:04Speaker 10: month of beating her, they were all like, you've got
- 1:40:06Speaker 10: to get rid of this girl. And the next thing
- 1:40:08Speaker 10: you know, he became the ex-prince of Bel-Air, and they
- 1:40:11Speaker 10: moved him out of the family.
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: Well, I'm sure he'll be back. He's not going to
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: get any work over there either, and then he'll end
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: up back here. So, hey, Jimmy Fallon's on every weeknight,
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: 9 to midnight on WOR, 9 to midnight tonight. And
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: what are you going to be doing on tonight's show?
- 1:40:28Speaker 20: Oh, the big sendoff.
- 1:40:30Speaker 10: Lincoln's going to college tomorrow. Lincoln heads up to Cortland.
- 1:40:34Speaker 10: So you'll get some Fox people giving him some shout outs.
- 1:40:37Speaker 10: Kennedy and Emily Campagno is on because she just, you know,
- 1:40:41Speaker 10: she just got named the newest chair cast.
- 1:40:43Speaker 20: Member on the five.
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: Big job.
- 1:40:45Speaker 29: She, yeah, she was the one who had to do
- 1:40:46Speaker 29: the circumcision on Jesse. You know, that's not easy. So
- 1:40:51Speaker 29: your son's going to college. What if he comes back
- 1:40:53Speaker 29: all indoctrinated and becomes a socialist and.
- 1:40:56Speaker 20: You're going to laugh.
- 1:40:57Speaker 12: That's what I keep telling them.
- 1:40:58Speaker 10: I said, I'll pay for college as long as you
- 1:41:01Speaker 10: don't come home a queer for Palestine. You can come
- 1:41:05Speaker 10: home either one.
- 1:41:06Speaker 20: You can't come home both.
- 1:41:07Speaker 10: It's too much for me to deal with at Thanksgiving.
- 1:41:10Speaker 10: It's too much news for me to break in one sitting.
- 1:41:13Speaker 10: But it's crazy. And every college is liberal. Every single
- 1:41:18Speaker 10: college is 99% liberal. So you really have to have
- 1:41:23Speaker 10: a relationship with.
- 1:41:24Speaker 20: Your kid now. because there are so many stories.
- 1:41:26Speaker 10: I mean, if you think of that horrific story of
- 1:41:28Speaker 10: the kid who shot Charlie Kirk, okay, his father ran
- 1:41:32Speaker 10: a local business in Utah and was very Republican. So
- 1:41:36Speaker 10: was his mother, you know, but he went off to college,
- 1:41:39Speaker 10: wound up dating a transgender furry, and.
- 1:41:41Speaker 18: Here we are.
- 1:41:42Speaker 10: So you really have to have a relationship with your
- 1:41:44Speaker 10: kids now, because you cannot trust schools the way you
- 1:41:47Speaker 10: did when we were young.
- 1:41:48Speaker 12: You just sent your kid to school and you know,
- 1:41:50Speaker 12: hope he behaved.
- 1:41:51Speaker 20: I don't think we're living in that world right now.
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: Very good point. Hey, also make sure you watch Jimmy Fela,
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: the best late night show on television, Saturday night at
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: 10 o'clock. And people can be there in the studio audience, right?
- 1:42:04Speaker 2: Where do they go to get tickets?
- 1:42:06Speaker 10: Free tickets, foxacrossamerica.com. You log on to that site. You
- 1:42:12Speaker 10: can register for any show you want to come to.

- 1:42:17Speaker 10: We have James Murray from Impractical Jokers on. We tape
- 1:42:21Speaker 10: the show every week on Friday nights. But we're taping
- 1:42:24Speaker 10: it tonight because I've got to take Lincoln to college tomorrow.
- 1:42:27Speaker 10: So it's a New York taping tonight. We're taping it
- 1:42:30Speaker 10: a little early, but it's going to be.
- 1:42:31Speaker 12: A really ridiculous show.
- 1:42:32Speaker 20: So buckle up.

- 1:43:41Speaker 2: heavy in the afternoon. 2, 3, 4, 5, somewhere around there.
- 1:43:45Speaker 2: And then it should ease up. And then there might
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: be a little rain tonight. But it's the middle of
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: the afternoon. That's where it could be very heavy. There's
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: a watch for floods and all that. Subways, parkways, all
- 1:43:56Speaker 2: of that. Hey, it's Friday tomorrow. I'll be off tomorrow.
