- 3:15careless. Anyways, it's been a crazy,
- 3:17crazy day for me. I was at the gym today and one
- 3:21of the worst things I hate more than anything in the world is
- 3:25trying to find weights. It is the worst thing because
- 3:29you have all these meatheads. They're all looking or trying to
- 3:33find the £100 dumbbells, the 100 and 10s, or they're trying to
- 3:37get the 90s and 80s and then they mix it up.
- 3:39So you have the 80s with the 70's, the 60s with the 40's, the
- 3:4430s with the 10's. And I'm looking for two weights.
- 3:47And I'm, I'm, I'm watching these meatheads.
- 3:49They're standing right next to me grunting, making weird
- 3:52sounds, dropping the weights like they're muscle bound
- 3:55wieners. Well, they are muscle bound
- 3:57Wiener wieners, but yeah, and, and they're grunting.
- 4:03Sounds like somebody's raping them in the rear end.
- 4:05And and then you hear, and then you hear the secretary screaming
- 4:10on the intercom saying, ladies and gentlemen, if you're
- 4:13dropping weights, please don't drop them the way you're
- 4:16dropping them. And please put the weights back
- 4:18the way you found them. And I'm standing there and I'm
- 4:23looking at everybody else but myself.
- 4:25I'm just standing. I'm like, I can't find nothing.
- 4:28But these muscle bound idiots, they've got like a million
- 4:32different weights right under them.
- 4:33I mean, this guy had like 200 LB dumbbells, 110 LB dumbbells and
- 4:41120 LB dumbbells. And I'm I'm not going.
- 4:44I usually go no more than 100 a 105 when I'm I'm hitting the
- 4:48weights heavy and and in a different week, every other
- 4:51week, I'm hitting the weights a little bit heavier.
- 4:53I don't go any heavier than that anymore.
- 4:55I'm not crazy. I'm not doing I, I know Aaron
- 4:58Donald is doing right now where he's he's benching 160 LB
- 5:02dumbbells, which is ridiculous, by the way, absolutely
- 5:05ridiculous. And he's also a lot younger than
- 5:08me. He's 34.
- 5:09I'm 43. I'm like 9 years older than I'm,
- 5:11but it is crazy what these guys are doing right now.
- 5:15Still retired NFL players doing and weightlifting the way they
- 5:19are lifting. But I, I'm watching these guys
- 5:22and they're definitely juicing their chemically imbalanced.
- 5:24It it's, it's crazy. It, it, it just, I, I, I hate
- 5:28being in the gym when these guys, and now they're closing
- 5:31every LA Fitness around this particular gym area.
- 5:36So now I'm dealing with, I'm dealing with trying to find a
- 5:39gym where I'm not going to be, you know, rushed out or rushed
- 5:42out of my spot because people are standing right behind me
- 5:46waiting for me to get up and leave.
- 5:49It's annoying. It's one of the most annoying
- 5:51things. And in Long Island, New York, if
- 5:53anybody's been here, it is cluttered with people.
- 5:56Cluttered. If you're on the roads, it's
- 5:58cluttered. Yeah, there I am.
- 6:00That's exactly what it was. I don't know if I was making a
- 6:02face like that, but nevertheless, I was.
- 6:06I wasn't grunting like they were just say that, but anyways, I
- 6:10that's, that was my take today. I dealt with the gym crap.
- 6:14I was in the gym. I usually go in and out of the
- 6:16gym an hour workout and I do 1/2 an hour run.
- 6:19And I, I, I speed walk. I, I do an incline of 12 and I'm
- 6:23doing out of three-point 3.84 point O it it's, it's, I do it
- 6:29for 30 minutes. It's a long process.
- 6:31So I'm in, I was in the gym today for 2 1/2 hours.
- 6:34When I'm in the, when I'm in the gym for 2 1/2 hours, I'm in a
- 6:38miserable, miserable mood. So all day today, even when I
- 6:43saw Speedy, when I picked him up and I said I'm not in the mood,
- 6:46I'm going to be very, very nice to you and I'm going to talk
- 6:49with a little bit of calmness and not carelessness, Jabba.
- 6:54And I was Speedy. Was I not nice to you today?
- 6:58Usually I'm yelling at you, right?
- 7:00So I was nice to him because I swore to myself I was going to
- 7:04calm down and I was going to speak with him, speak with him
- 7:07like a normal person, not scream at him like I want to.
- 7:10I want to RIP his head off or RIP his neck out of his, you
- 7:13know, his off his body. So yeah, it was one of those
- 7:16days. So I'm not in a good mood,
- 7:18ladies and gentlemen. So trust me, when I'm not in a
- 7:21good mood, you're going to get good content tonight.
- 7:24You're going to get a lot of good content.
- 7:26The AFC championship game kicks off first on Sunday, featuring
- 7:31Mike Frables, New England Patriots against Sean Payton's
- 7:35Denver Broncos because Bo Nicks broke his ankle in the last play
- 7:39of the division round. The Broncos will be starting
- 7:42former Patriots draft pick, number 7th.
- 7:46I mean, seventh round draft pick Jared, Jared Stidham.
- 7:51I I can't wait for this who has only who has only store started
- 7:55four career NFL games and none of them since 2023.
- 8:01The Patriots defense turned over CJ Strout and the Texans five
- 8:06times in the divisional round. Drake May has four touchdowns
- 8:09and two interceptions so far in the playoffs.
- 8:14The Patriots are a -, 4.5 favorite without the one and
- 8:19only Knicks. The NFC Championship Game is a
- 8:23true rivalry game, The game and a pure offense versus defense
- 8:29duel as Sean Payton and the Rams square off against Mike McDonald
- 8:34and the number one seeded Seahawks as McDonald's #1 ranked
- 8:38scoring defense takes on Mcveigh's number one ranked
- 8:42scoring offense. The Rams and the Seahawks split
- 8:45their series 2 their two matchups this regular season
- 8:50with two very close games. The Rams out gain the Seahawks
- 8:54by 1 yard and outscored them by one point combined in those two
- 8:59meetings. The Patriots are a 4.54 point, 5
- 9:04point Rd. favorite, while the Seahawks are three-point home
- 9:09favorite for moving on to the Super Bowl.
- 9:13All right, a lot to get into with the New England Patriots
- 9:16and here's the facts. Drake May is a better
- 9:21quarterback than Jarrett's did them.
- 9:23I don't think anybody's going to argue that.
- 9:25Jarrett, I called him Jarrett Shitham because that's what he
- 9:29is. He is not a quarterback that I'm
- 9:31going to trust in a not in a divisional game, a wild card
- 9:35game and definitely not in a championship game.
- 9:38And I know Sean Payton, he's going to make it very easy.
- 9:42He's going to run easy plays. He's going to use his running
- 9:45backs. That's what he likes to do when
- 9:48he doesn't have an advantage at the quarterback position.
- 9:51I don't even think he had an advantage at the quarterback
- 9:53position. Even if Bo Nicks was playing.
- 9:56Now Drake May is, I wouldn't say elite, but he was by far to me a
- 10:02top ten quarterback this year. Stats would tell you he's a top
- 10:05three and that's why he's an MVP candidate.
- 10:08I do not think he's going to win the MVP because Matthew Stafford
- 10:11was that damn good this year and he is going to get one he's
- 10:15never had. He's never won an MVP in his
- 10:17whole career. He's been in illegal for over 15
- 10:20years and this is his chance to win 1.
- 10:22And I think Matthew Stafford has done everything and he deserves
- 10:25all the rights of being this year's league MVP.
- 10:30But when you look at this game, there's a lot of questions and
- 10:35there's going to be a lot of answers in the game.
- 10:37One, can the Patriots score and run their offense against this
- 10:44defense. Denver's defense is one of the
- 10:46best in the league. They have one of the best
- 10:48secondaries in all of football. They have the best corner still.
- 10:52I don't care what anybody says. This is they have the best
- 10:55corner in football. There is no argument and anybody
- 10:59argues that they don't know what they're talking about.
- 11:02They have arguably one of the great safeties in this league,
- 11:05too. This defense is sensational and
- 11:10I think when you look at both teams, they're matched up very,
- 11:13very well defense to offense. Both teams have a tremendous
- 11:16amount of talent. Tremendous.
- 11:19But again, when we go back and forth and we're trying to
- 11:21compare and contrast both teams, a lot of people are going to
- 11:24look at this game and they're going to say, well, it's Jarrett
- 11:26Stidham. So the Patriots are going to
- 11:28win. Not necessarily.
- 11:30You're in Denver, you're playing in Denver, you're not in a
- 11:32Foxborough. And we all know what the Fox
- 11:36World or Foxborough brings when you play there.
- 11:39I don't remember the last time the Patriots lost a playoff game
- 11:42at at Foxborough. It's heightened since 2019.
- 11:45But the Patriots for years have had problems in Denver, had have
- 11:50had years. Tom Brady's worst games were in
- 11:53Denver. So I'm not saying Drake May is
- 11:57Tom Brady, but just think the breathing, the oxygen,
- 12:03everything in Denver is going to affect this game.
- 12:06It's going to be cold, might be snowy.
- 12:09We saw what a snow game can cause for the New England
- 12:13Patriots just as much as it it caused for the Denver Broncos
- 12:17over the last couple of years at playing and playing in the snow.
- 12:20And I think obviously when you look at both of these teams,
- 12:24they're very well matched as far as the coaches are concerned.
- 12:27I think Mike Vrabel is a little bit under Sean Payton.
- 12:30Sean Payton has been here before.
- 12:32He's won a Super Bowl before. Mike Vrabel has never won a
- 12:34Super Bowl. He's never coached in a Super
- 12:37Bowl. That's the advantage that Sean
- 12:39Payton has. And if I look at the running
- 12:41games, they're very equal. Obviously the Broncos have a
- 12:46young quarterback, I mean a young running back in Harvey
- 12:51that is going to be their go to guy.
- 12:53The Patriots have Henderson, another young guy, no question,
- 12:56and Stevenson, they have the ability to, to, to be an ultra
- 13:00threat at the running game. The Patriots always use their
- 13:04running game. Mike Frabel likes to play old
- 13:06school football. We've seen this before before.
- 13:09We understand how Bill Belichick has coached him over the years
- 13:13when he's worked on the bench over there with the New England
- 13:16Patriots. And when he took over for
- 13:17Tennessee, look who he coached, Derrick Henry for many, many,
- 13:20many years, one of the elite running backs in the league.
- 13:23So you know, Mike Frabel, he his go to is run the ball, dominate
- 13:28the line of scrimmage and use his young offensive line to push
- 13:32this defensive line back. That's what they're strong at
- 13:36and I expect that on Sunday. But here's the thing.
- 13:40But what does it, what does the Broncos do?
- 13:42How do they combat losing Bo Nicks very having him?
- 13:45What do they change? And I, I know you, I know you
- 13:47said run, run, run, but you got to do more than that.
- 13:51Here's what I'm going to say. JK Dobbins is playing in this
- 13:53game. JK Dobbins is probably playing
- 13:57in this game. What I've heard is he's he's
- 13:59going to make a run at it. And if JK is that guy and he is,
- 14:04he is a an elusive running back much better than Harvey.
- 14:08Harvey still young. This guy can catch the ball in
- 14:10the backfield. You can use him in many
- 14:12different ways. You can use him in a widespread
- 14:14offense where you can use him as a wide receiver.
- 14:16I expect Dobbins to be a big threat in this game.
- 14:20If the Denver Broncos are going to win this game.
- 14:23And I expect also that they're going to they're going to make
- 14:26the game a lot easier for Stidham.
- 14:28They're going to throw short passes, slant passes, make the
- 14:31game quicker, easier, so it gives him a little bit of
- 14:34confidence, runs the tempo of the game so the Broncos could
- 14:38start moving the ball and use their running backs to push this
- 14:41defense back. I think the Broncos have the
- 14:44running game. If JK Dobbins plays this game
- 14:47and he's 100%, not even 100 percent, 80%, he's never going
- 14:50to be 100 percent, 80% healthy. They got a chance.
- 14:54They do. And I just saw him that they're
- 14:56they they made an announcement this week that JK is probably
- 14:59going to play. So that's a a great little tool.
- 15:03That's a great little weapon that Sean Payton is going to use
- 15:06this week. Now, Jared Stidham has I, I
- 15:10believe, an ability to move outside of the pocket.
- 15:13He's been better the four games that I've watched a couple of
- 15:17films on, on Stidham over the last couple of days.
- 15:20I watched him in some of the games.
- 15:23This is a kid that likes to move outside of the pocket and make
- 15:25his throws on the run. That's where he's more
- 15:28efficient. I expect a lot of that in this
- 15:31offense. In this game.
- 15:32I would expect that they don't want him to sit in the pocket
- 15:36and make throws because this defense.
- 15:38Has been so good they run more RPO options if if that's kind of
- 15:43what we've seen. I think they're going to they're
- 15:46going to use the running backs. They might even use a double
- 15:48sided running back play where you're going to see Harvey and
- 15:51JK Dobbins out there on some of the plays.
- 15:54One of them to block the other one to to either be a decoy or a
- 15:57guy that you can use them in a screen pass and use them in many
- 16:00different options. And that's what that's why I
- 16:03think Sean Payton has the advantage in this game one the
- 16:06home field advantage, the crowds going to be loud the the
- 16:09stadium. I I mean the oxygen it bulge
- 16:13better for the Denver Broncos because they're the home team.
- 16:17The only thing is Drake May has not played a good game yet in
- 16:21the playoffs and I still think he has the ability to figure
- 16:25that out. We haven't seen him throw over I
- 16:28I have. We seen him throw over 200 yards
- 16:30yet. Yeah, the Chargers game he did,
- 16:31but barely. So I this could be a game where
- 16:35I expect him to have between 250 and 300 yards.
- 16:38If he does that, the Patriots are going to win the game.
- 16:43They have to keep him down with his yards, keep him in his
- 16:47pocket. Don't let him move outside of
- 16:49the pocket. Drake May is also very, very
- 16:51good outside of the pocket. He's very strong inside, just as
- 16:55well outside of the pocket. His strength is he loves to roll
- 16:59to the right. So what do you think they're
- 17:02going to do? Sean Payton is going to make
- 17:05sure that they're going to force him to row to his left where
- 17:08he's uncomfortable doing that, where it puts him in bad,
- 17:11awkward positions where he could make mistakes.
- 17:14Drake made made a lot of mistakes last week.
- 17:16He dropped the ball 4 * 4 so. And he's had a fumbling problem
- 17:21all season long. He led the league in fumbles and
- 17:24I trust me, Sean Payton on the board is probably going to say
- 17:28Fumbelina, Fumbelina. We're using, we're going to be
- 17:31using blitz packages. We're going to we're going to
- 17:34jam guys up the middle and use our guys, our defensive lineman
- 17:38on the outsides to put pressure on Drake where he feels not
- 17:41comfortable and he forces the ball into places that he is very
- 17:45uncomfortable doing. That's where I think the Denver
- 17:48Broncos and they've got the secondary to do it.
- 17:50Patrick, Sir Tan is as good as anybody.
- 17:52He is going to shut down their They're number one.
- 17:54I don't know who their number one is.
- 17:56I really don't, but Mr. Boot or whatever what we call him.
- 18:01Java's favorite receiver. Mr. Boot.
- 18:03You got to have the booty. Yeah, Mr. Boot is is guy is a
- 18:07guy that he likes to go to in the second-half of the game.
- 18:10Diggs is a guy, he likes to go in the first half of the game.
- 18:12I think Diggs is dangerous in this game.
- 18:15I really do, because what they're going to do with Diggs
- 18:18is expect a lot of trick plays. I think Frabo's going to use a
- 18:22lot of different things that we've not seen the Patriots use
- 18:25all season long. And, and we know McDaniel, he is
- 18:29a very weird guy when he's calling plays, especially if you
- 18:32see something working more than the other.
- 18:35So that's that's the thing we talked about and Speedy kind of
- 18:38touched on it. Is this the time to do those
- 18:40trick plays like? Right now, yes, because teams
- 18:44are not planning for them. Teams haven't seen it all season
- 18:48long. What do these coaches do?
- 18:50They watch old film. Sean Payton's the king of doing
- 18:53that. If you watch anything and know
- 18:55anything about Sean Payton, he loves watching film.
- 18:57It's his favorite thing. So what is what is Sean Payton
- 18:59like to do? He's going to watch Greg May.
- 19:01He's going to watch every single game this year what Drake May
- 19:04likes to do, what he's uncomfortable doing, and he's
- 19:06going to use that to his advantage.
- 19:09I believe that Sean Payton is the type of guy that is one of
- 19:13first of all, one of the trickery type of coaches we've
- 19:16ever seen. We've seen him doing in the
- 19:18Super Bowl. Remember that Speedy, Remember
- 19:20the second-half. If they didn't make that trick
- 19:23play that kick off, I think the I think the Saints lose that
- 19:27game. An onside kick by Jets legend
- 19:29Thomas Morstead. I mean, seriously, in the
- 19:32beginning of the second-half of the game.
- 19:34So a guy like Sean Payton likes to do that and I expect him to
- 19:39do a lot of that in this game. Throw Mike Frabel, who's a young
- 19:42coach still, I mean, a little wet behind the ears, has the
- 19:46experience with Tennessee, but never been in this experience
- 19:49with Tennessee, never has. So he has a chance now against a
- 19:53backup quarterback, a third string quarterback to move on to
- 19:57a Super Bowl somewhere. And somehow and and again, they
- 20:01haven't been in the Super Bowl since 2018.
- 20:04So this is a Patriots and this is what the Patriots are known
- 20:07to do. They find ways to win games.
- 20:09Speedy, Ken. The Broncos use their secondary
- 20:14and use their talent on that defensive side of the ball to
- 20:18hold Drake May into place where he doesn't feel comfortable and
- 20:22puts him in awkward position. Yeah.
- 20:23The major advantage I think the Broncos still have it, though,
- 20:26is their pass rush. And you mentioned like maybe
- 20:28overload blitz is on that left side of that, the defensive
- 20:30line. The Patriots have a lot of
- 20:32injuries on the offensive line and their offensive line did not
- 20:34look very good against Houston's pass rush.
- 20:36And obviously Houston's defensive scheme was a little
- 20:38different. They don't like the blitz as
- 20:40much as more of a 49er type of defense with Tamika Ryan's over
- 20:42there. Whereas Vance Joseph, he loves
- 20:44to bring blitzes and creative blitzes.
- 20:46And I agree with you. That's the leverage that Drake
- 20:49that the Broncos are going to have in this game against Drake
- 20:51may in addition to the secondary having a lot of obvious
- 20:54advantages. Not even just certain.
- 20:55Riley Moss is a guy. It's a slot corner that's not
- 20:58getting a lot enough attention as a number two guy.
- 21:01And then McMillan who got the interception last week against
- 21:03the Bills with controversial interception.
- 21:06He played very well when Sir Tan got hurt.
- 21:08That was the reason the Broncos defense really didn't miss a
- 21:10beat when Sir Tan got hurt. So they have definitely enough
- 21:12secondary pieces. They have good safeties, they
- 21:14have good linebackers and they have a good run defense.
- 21:17Now the patriots have a really good run defense too.
- 21:19So that's what will be interesting to see how the
- 21:21impact JK Dobbins is just coming back into the game.
- 21:24I'm curious on the pass catching running backs though, if they
- 21:26can make Harvey and Dobbins work as screen guys, if they can get
- 21:30those quick game going to make sure that that Jarrett Stidom
- 21:33can feel comfortable right away. Now Jarrett Stidom, this is the
- 21:363rd year in his in this scheme, so he's familiar with it.
- 21:39He's not being thrown into the fire.
- 21:40He had two starts with the Broncos when Russell Wilson got
- 21:42benched in that whole controversy 2 years ago.
- 21:45And then he started with the Raiders a little bit too.
- 21:47So he has a little bit of experience in that regard.
- 21:50And Jabba, to answer what you were saying before, like should
- 21:53they get more creative with those trick plays and different
- 21:56concepts? I think of this for Sean Payton,
- 21:58like the 2021 Saints, they almost made the playoffs with
- 22:02Jameis Winston, Ian Book and there was one other quarterback
- 22:05and and probably takes them. He'll probably started some
- 22:06games in there. It mixed in there and they were
- 22:08nine and eight. They almost made the playoffs.
- 22:10They almost stole a playoffs from the 49ers.
- 22:11I think if the 49ers didn't beat the Rams the the Saints could
- 22:15get in with that group and the Broncos have more talent on
- 22:18right now than a lot of those those Saints offensive players.
- 22:21The Saints got old that year so this is going to be a very
- 22:24interesting game. A tight defensive duel in the
- 22:26snow could still go in the Broncos favor because of those
- 22:29reasons. Where do you think the battle is
- 22:31won? Obviously we always talk about
- 22:33the trenches, but I think there's more to this game than
- 22:36just winning it in the trenches. It's very simple.
- 22:39Whoever finds their running game first is probably going to win
- 22:42the game. I think, you know, if it's
- 22:44snowing and it's cold and the oxygen is is always soft over
- 22:49there and it's very hard to breathe, I expect a lot of both
- 22:53teams running games to take over.
- 22:55I think obviously Stevenson and Henderson, they're a dynamic
- 22:59duo, but I would trust more and JK Dobbins because of what JK
- 23:04Dobbins has been through in his career.
- 23:06This guy is so explosive. I think people forget how good
- 23:09JK Dobbins is when he's. Even even being out, as long as
- 23:14he was like coming back in this situation, do you think that
- 23:17plays? I don't because I expect he's
- 23:22not a rookie coach. He's a veteran coach that's been
- 23:24here before. He always likes to go to his go
- 23:27to guys, the guys that he trusts the most.
- 23:29And JK Dobbins is a veteran guy. He's not going to go to Harvey
- 23:33early in the game because Harvey is inexperienced and with the
- 23:37crowd and you know, in specific times of games, you know, those
- 23:41guys, those young guys are, are very uncomfortable making those
- 23:45plays. I don't think JK Dobbins is
- 23:47going to be uncomfortable. I think you can trust more in
- 23:50that veteran type of player to make the play, get that extra
- 23:55yardage that they're going to need to move the sticks.
- 23:58And that's why I think the advantage will go to the Broncos
- 24:01in this game if it goes to the running game.
- 24:04But again, we can look at both sides of the game.
- 24:07And they're still, they're still not favored at home.
- 24:10They're they're getting four and a.
- 24:11Half they weren't going to be favored.
- 24:13No, because they have a backup quarterback, a third string.
- 24:15Quarterback, but I think 4 1/2 is a lot when you judge the
- 24:17Broncos. Just talent advantage in the
- 24:19trenches. This is the other one that I
- 24:21think is an advantage is an interesting X Factor.
- 24:23The tight ends, like Hunter Henry's been a streaky tight end
- 24:26all year. And if you're going to expose
- 24:27anything with the Broncos, it might be their linebackers.
- 24:29Alex Singleton got banged up a little last week.
- 24:32And again, their safeties are still kind of new.
- 24:34They have a lot of rotational guide and then on the Patriots
- 24:36and they they traded one of them and Kyle Duggar already at the
- 24:39trade deadline. They have linebackers that are
- 24:40pretty young. Can the Broncos use Ingram and
- 24:43even add Adam Troutman to an extent to the Sean Payton has
- 24:45familiarity with the Saints to make that work.
- 24:47And then the last one too, Jabba is Jaleel Mclaughlin's their
- 24:50third running back. He's an interesting wild card as
- 24:52a pass catching guy. If Dobbins, you don't want to
- 24:55give him a lot of volume really. They have a four headed monster
- 24:57now, they have four guys, 4 competent running backs.
- 25:00They can do a lot of things and, and Sean Payton's a very tricky
- 25:03type of play caller. I expect him to use used 2
- 25:06running backs on a lot of his play calls, one to block.
- 25:09They're going to need that extra blocker to give Stidham some
- 25:12time to get these guys. Hope they don't have elite wide
- 25:15receivers. They have one great wide
- 25:17receiver and the rest of those guys are.
- 25:21I mean, are you going to trust Mims?
- 25:22I I don't know if I trust Mims. I don't trust any of the weapons
- 25:25they have. Brian, if he plays in the game,
- 25:28I don't even think he's playing, no.
- 25:29He's got a concussion. Yeah, so Stover, I don't even
- 25:32think he's playing in the game. So I I there's nobody in my in
- 25:37my thought on how they're going to beat you in the air.
- 25:41They're going to have to beat you with these running backs and
- 25:44use these running backs in certain packages to throw this
- 25:48defense, which is pretty damn good.
- 25:50I mean, Gonzales has been in elite corner in this league
- 25:54since he's come into the league before his injury last year, and
- 25:58he's only been a league for two years.
- 25:59Just think about his dominance and Jones was unbelievable last
- 26:02week. So you have two competent
- 26:05corners that can absolutely shadow any guy that they have on
- 26:08the football field and that's what you expect Gonzalez to do
- 26:11against their number one guy. So I, I think the advantage on
- 26:15in that case when it comes to the air will go to the Patriots
- 26:19with digs and Mr. Boot or a booty or whatever you want to
- 26:23call. Javas boy, I think the other one
- 26:25before you go fish is how much they can maneuver their other
- 26:28receivers around off of those other corners too, because
- 26:30Gonzales and Sutton. You would think Gonzales
- 26:32probably has the advantage, even though I think Sutton size is
- 26:35going to make it hard. And then you got obviously Sir
- 26:37Tan against any of those Patriots receivers.
- 26:39Forget it. If they can get off the number
- 26:41two guy and get those receivers maybe in bunch formations or
- 26:45just versatile, who's there? Sean Payton versus Josh
- 26:48McDaniels, that battle will be very interesting.
- 26:50So. Yeah, Mcdaniel's up for
- 26:52assistant coach of the year this year.
- 26:53Speedy. He's had another great season.
- 26:56He's one of the best assistant coaches we've seen in this
- 26:59league for a long time. Not a good head coach and not
- 27:00exactly a good people person, apparently.
- 27:02That's even. Jealous, that's a whole nother
- 27:04story, but has done a great job obviously with Drake May and and
- 27:08having him grow and have this offense in a position where
- 27:12they're they're favored in the AFC championship game and Drake
- 27:16May is probably going to finish second for MVP this year.
- 27:18That's pretty awesome. It's a pretty great job.
- 27:22However, you'd have a weird game plan.
- 27:24It's a weird game that's going to happen.
- 27:26You're not going to see it because no, there's no bow
- 27:28necks. So Sean Paden, they need to get
- 27:31a lead that they need to run the ball.
- 27:34They have the best offensive line in football court in the
- 27:36PFF #1 ranked in 2025, offensive line, have a all pro tackling
- 27:41guard on the team. They're fantastic, but you can't
- 27:45they don't throw the ball and Stidham, I don't know if you
- 27:48want to trust to throw the ball. So what I'm expecting is one of
- 27:52The Who has more trick plays than Sean Payton, right?
- 27:56Like this guy probably has rooms filled of notebooks.
- 28:01You know, like Girardi had binders back in the day and told
- 28:04him what to do. Millions of different plays that
- 28:07he's come up with over the years.
- 28:09There was there was a a Twitter handle that was Joe's binder.
- 28:14Yeah, I remember that. And it was like, honestly, like
- 28:18I saw it every day and it was like this big.
- 28:20I'm like, what in the hell is in there?
- 28:22Like I never looked at it. I didn't.
- 28:24I didn't know. Everything was in there.
- 28:26Java everything. Java, do you know how many pages
- 28:29were devoted to you? Oh, probably.
- 28:32There's probably just a rule segment of all the other stuff.
- 28:36So it's an obvious game plan for the Broncos.
- 28:38Can they get a lead early and then can they pound it on them?
- 28:42That's what they have to do to win.
- 28:43They have no other way. I don't think that's it.
- 28:46But the Patriots, they got to face the number one defense,
- 28:49Yes. And look, if it's me, and I
- 28:53think Rabel's smart enough to know this, he's just going to
- 28:56smother the line of scrimmage and he's going to say you're not
- 28:59running the ball and we're going to press up on your guys.
- 29:02Our guys are better than your guys.
- 29:03Diggs is not the same guy. If he's your best guy, good luck
- 29:07against us, you know. I think you're right, but again,
- 29:12the crowd's going to be loud. And remember, it could be
- 29:15snowing, it could be cold. The oxygen is low over there.
- 29:18It's elevated. Drake May has never been in a
- 29:21situation like this. This is a young kid that's only
- 29:24been elite for what, 2 years now?
- 29:26He's he's young, he's a kid. So there's a lot of pressure on
- 29:30him to go up to Denver and do what he did in Foxborough.
- 29:33And I don't know if he's going to have the advantage because of
- 29:35that, because of the crowd and how loud it's going to be.
- 29:38And remember, when he's calling the plays, he's going to have
- 29:42hand signals and all that other stuff that needs to be worked up
- 29:45for the players to understand what he's calling in the huddle.
- 29:49So there's a a lot to look at in this game and everybody's not
- 29:52looking at. They're just saying, hey, the
- 29:54Patriots have Drake May and they have Stidham and that.
- 29:57And by the way, McDaniel was the one that wanted Jarrett Stidham.
- 30:00He's the one that drafted Jarrett Stidham in the seventh
- 30:04round. So he knows everything about
- 30:06Jarrett Stidham. So it's not like he's going to
- 30:08be tricked. But guess what?
- 30:10Jared Stidham's been with the Broncos for three years.
- 30:13So he understands I I guess a little bit more about Sean
- 30:16Payton and how Sean Payton wants to run this offense.
- 30:19He is not Bo Nicks, but I don't know if Bo Nicks would have
- 30:22given them that much of an advantage even if he was playing
- 30:25in this game. He's better than Stidham.
- 30:27He's much better. But I, I just, I think that the
- 30:31way they're going to be game planning, I think.
- 30:33The way you say that, though, it's like it's now like with Bo
- 30:38Nicks, the the comfort that you have with him and, and what he's
- 30:42like shown like their first half's been terrible, but the
- 30:45second happened when, when they get him to the finish line.
- 30:47Bo Nicks has been there at the finish line.
- 30:50And so I think that's the thing that's that where they're going
- 30:53to have to schematically try to do things differently because
- 30:56they're not going to have a finisher.
- 30:58They've seen both finish at the end of every game.
- 31:01They have one and JK Dobbins is a finisher.
- 31:04That guy is a finisher. I've watched this guy.
- 31:07That's where the chess match comes in.
- 31:08I didn't. Even know he was playing until I
- 31:10saw on the list that he's listed there.
- 31:13So if he's listed there, he's playing on Sunday, which gives
- 31:17them on a real good weapon that they can do so many things with
- 31:21them. The guy could catch the ball in
- 31:23the backfield, the guy could go North and South.
- 31:25The guy is great. He's a great player.
- 31:27Look at his numbers when he's healthy, he's as good as any
- 31:30running back in the league. Go look at the last five years
- 31:33when he. You just said he's not 100%.
- 31:36If you get him at 80% he's still the same. 100% they're going to
- 31:40use him if he's if. Even if he was. 80% they're
- 31:44going to use him like he was 100%.
- 31:46JK Dobbins has how many years left in a league?
- 31:49Maybe one at most. He's over 30 years old.
- 31:52He's going to give it all in this game because he has a
- 31:55chance to win a Super Bowl. JK Dobbins never won a Super
- 31:57Bowl. This is his stance, so he's
- 32:00going to go out there and do his.
- 32:01Best for that. But I mean that that is
- 32:03something to be said. Like you're always chasing the
- 32:07chip, right? And it's like, yeah, I've
- 32:09accomplished my individual goals.
- 32:12But when you win something and you win it with somebody as this
- 32:15flag sits right here, that's special.
- 32:19That's special. And if he can do it, then that
- 32:23changes the magnitude of your career.
- 32:25Just think if Jarrett Stidham wins the Super Bowl after only
- 32:30playing. He's going to.
- 32:32Get paid. Not get paid.
- 32:35I, I mean, this guy's, they're going to write stories about
- 32:38this, this Super Bowl, stories about him.
- 32:41Oh, Jared Stidham, who where did he come from?
- 32:44Four games and he plays in the championship game, wipes the
- 32:48floor with the Patriots, and then wipes the floor with
- 32:51Seattle, the Rams and wins the Super Bowl.
- 32:53What a story that would be. It would be the greatest revenge
- 32:55game ever. That's for you, Jeff, that we're
- 32:57so high on Jerison when he got drafted in 2019.
- 33:00Anyways, I I want to get into this game because this game is
- 33:03the game that everybody's looking forward to.
- 33:05It is the Seahawks in the young coach in McDonald versus the
- 33:10veteran Sean McVeigh. I want to know.
- 33:12Why you don't like Sean McVeigh that.
- 33:14Much I don't like the way he's dancing and prancing on the
- 33:18sidelines. He flexes.
- 33:21He's always in the media. I don't like his voice.
- 33:23He's got some weird terminology when he speaks to the media.
- 33:28He tries to play the media like they're stupid every time he
- 33:31speaks. He goes to the XS and OS when he
- 33:34speaks and it kind of turns you off on listening to him.
- 33:37And his voice is so annoying. Me and Fish talk about it all
- 33:40the time. He's got one of the most
- 33:42annoying voices and even his faces that he was making when
- 33:45Chicago came back. I don't know if anybody saw his
- 33:48face when Caleb Williams threw that, that Hail Mary all the way
- 33:53to the end zone to cold command. Did anybody see that face that
- 33:56he made? His mouth dropped.
- 33:59He couldn't believe it. They He couldn't believe it.
- 34:03He was shocked that he completed that pass and maybe he.
- 34:06Was lucky you got to give credit where credit's due.
- 34:09The dude's done. Unbelievable.
- 34:12I'm not. Again, I I'm not taking shots at
- 34:16McVeigh like he's not a good coach, but the last time Sean
- 34:19McVeigh went to a super. Bowl.
- 34:20He just annoys you, right? The last time he went to a Super
- 34:23Bowl, he won. And that was because of they
- 34:27went after Ramsey, they went after they spent the money and
- 34:31traded for Matthew Stafford and they had Aaron Donald.
- 34:35They had the elite of elite defensive lineman in all of
- 34:38football at the top of his game. They don't have that and they
- 34:43had Cooper Cup, by the way, who was an elite wide receiver.
- 34:45They don't have that this year. And I'm I'm just saying that
- 34:50they have Puka Nakua. They do, but they don't.
- 34:53Their defense is young. This is a young defense that's
- 34:56never been in in this kind of position.
- 34:59Every single practically their whole defensive line are been
- 35:02they've been in elite for no more than 4-5 years.
- 35:05Their their two top defensive lineman have been in a lead for
- 35:08no more than three. So I I'm just, I'm just speaking
- 35:11the truth here. I don't and and and the Rams,
- 35:14they didn't look good last week against the Chicago Bears in the
- 35:17second-half. The Bears kept in that game.
- 35:20The Seahawks are a different monster.
- 35:22This is a different monster. They've got it running game.
- 35:24Walker had three touchdowns last week.
- 35:26Walker dominated and and Walker's going to get the ball
- 35:30and they're going to feed him the rock because this offensive
- 35:32line is one of the best in the league as pushing out the pile
- 35:36and giving him space. And Walker's going to get space
- 35:40and they're going to throw the ball to Walker and they have
- 35:42Najigba. They've got weapons like that
- 35:45even though the chick but didn't look good last week.
- 35:47I don't expect back-to-back weeks where Najigba doesn't have
- 35:50100 all-purpose yards in this game.
- 35:53I would expect a lot of trickery in McDonald.
- 35:56Why? Because nobody expects it.
- 35:58And the Rams, Sean McVeigh is the king of doing so many trick
- 36:02plays, especially in the big game I'd seen him doing in the
- 36:05Super Bowl, and I expect him to do it in this game.
- 36:08And I and again, I think the advantage goes to the Seahawks
- 36:12in many different ways. One, I love their secondary.
- 36:15This is as good as secondary as any team in football right now.
- 36:19They've got weapons all over their secondary and and, and
- 36:23their corner play is as good as anybody's too.
- 36:26And and to me, Witherspoon is one of the more underrated
- 36:29corners in all of football and and to me, the the opportunities
- 36:34they have job or is am I right how I pronounce his name?
- 36:38Yeah, Josh Job. Josh Job, he's a young player,
- 36:41has looked very, very good over the last couple of weeks.
- 36:45They've got so many ways they can beat you in their secondary.
- 36:48Their safety play is as good as any any, any team in football.
- 36:51And McDonald, the way he schemes against your strengths, he's as
- 36:55good as anybody. Go look at John Harbaugh's
- 36:58record since McDonald left. McDonald's been over there in
- 37:01Seattle for how many years, sweetie?
- 37:03Two years? Two years?
- 37:05How bad has the Ravens defense got since McDonald has left?
- 37:09They. Were terrible this year and they
- 37:10were good but not great the year.
- 37:12Before they were in the teens, last the year before they were
- 37:16in the teens, I think they were ranked like 12 or 13.
- 37:18Yeah, they were good run defense, but their past defense.
- 37:20Was bad. They weren't as dominant as
- 37:22they've been, and that's why McDonald's was hired by Seattle
- 37:26and that's why I believe McDonald is coach of the year.
- 37:29It is really the way he developed, and I'll say this
- 37:32again, developed this secondary. This secondary was good and I'm
- 37:37not saying was bad under the last regime and Pete Cow is a
- 37:41great defensive mind and everything like that.
- 37:43But he's old and he likes to play up and he likes to drive
- 37:47the defense, the front 7UP and like to put pressure on the
- 37:50quarterback. This guy, he likes to do both.
- 37:53But what he does so very good is he he uses blitz packages in
- 37:57very unique ways. He brings up the safeties, he
- 37:59pushes back. He there's so many things that
- 38:02this guy does so very well and outsmarts a lot of great
- 38:06offensive minded coaches in this league.
- 38:09Go look at the coaches he's beaten this year.
- 38:11He beats Sean McVeigh. Do you think they'll stack the
- 38:14box in in in the blitz packages and stack the box they're going
- 38:17to? Play man.
- 38:18They're going to play man. I think they believe they can
- 38:21keep Puka Nakua at Bay if they can keep Puka Nakua at 100.
- 38:26Yards one. 100% they're going to do it.
- 38:30Oh. You're gonna see them do that in
- 38:33this game. They're gonna use a lot of man
- 38:34in this game. I think they're gonna use some
- 38:36blitz packages with the safety. I think he believes and he
- 38:39trusts his secondary that they can do that.
- 38:42And, and again, Matthew Stafford is to me the MVP of the league
- 38:45and he has been as good as any quarterback in all the football.
- 38:49But when you put pressure on Matthew Stafford and we've seen
- 38:52it and it's cold. It's going to be cold over there
- 38:54in Seattle. It's going to be rainy, maybe
- 38:56even snowy. It's it's one of the hardest
- 38:58places to play because of the 12th man.
- 39:01I'm going to tell you this right now, not only.
- 39:03In Detroit, cold doesn't scare him.
- 39:07I'm going to tell you this right now.
- 39:08He is a California kid. He's a California.
- 39:12Kid, but he spent most of his career in Detroit.
- 39:14That's fine. First of all, Detroit, they play
- 39:17inside. They're an inside, they play in
- 39:20an igloo, all right? They don't play outside.
- 39:24So that's what number 2, if you look at the back end in the
- 39:28background of what we've seen when he plays in cold weather,
- 39:32go look at his statistics in under.
- 39:35I think, I think they said under 30° weather.
- 39:38Matthew Stafford's numbers are not elite.
- 39:41He doesn't play well in the cold.
- 39:43Well, he. Even he he even said that in his
- 39:46interview afterwards is like, you know, I, I didn't play well,
- 39:49but we found it found a way to win like they he's a winner like
- 39:53they, he finds ways to win. And I think when you get to that
- 39:58point. I think that plays a part in
- 40:02what he is and how he can translate that to everybody
- 40:07else. He doesn't have to be the best
- 40:10version of Matthew Stafford. He just has to facilitate
- 40:13everything else to be and win. At that version, here's what I'm
- 40:18going to tell you they're going to do.
- 40:19They're going to use a lot of Ferguson.
- 40:21They're going to use a lot of tight ends in this game because
- 40:23over the last couple of weeks, Seattle's had problems stopping
- 40:27tight ends. And I think you're going to see
- 40:30more of Blake Quorum in this game than you are of Williams.
- 40:34Williams has been very, very good in the playoffs.
- 40:37I think Quorum that he's a more of a Smash Mouth type of running
- 40:40back. I think they're going to use him
- 40:42in a lot of different packages in this game.
- 40:44I think they're going to try to throw the Seattle Seahawks off
- 40:48in their, in their, their, their, their front 7 and put
- 40:53them in situations where they're going to expose some of the
- 40:57weaknesses of Seattle's defense in the front seven.
- 40:59They have weaknesses. Don't every team has a weakness.
- 41:03And Sean McVay has studied their weaknesses over the last couple
- 41:07of years. As a matter of fact, two years
- 41:08he's played against McDonald, he knows his strengths.
- 41:11He's known he knows his weaknesses.
- 41:12Both games were very, very close.
- 41:14But here's the problem. Seattle has Sam Donald.
- 41:18Sam Donald's never been in this position before.
- 41:20There's a lot of pressure on Sam and Sam is not 100% healthy.
- 41:25So I, I mean, that is to me a very, very interesting thought
- 41:31when you think about Sam Darnold versus a guy like Matthew
- 41:36Stafford. Now, that doesn't mean Sam
- 41:37Darnold can't throw 300 yards, 3 touchdowns and be elite in this
- 41:41game. He absolutely could.
- 41:43I worry about Sam because when Sam gets thrown off and he is
- 41:46not confident in the pocket, he does stupid things outside of
- 41:50the pocket. I'm a Jet fan.
- 41:52I watched Sam Darnold. I watched him play in Carolina,
- 41:55I watched him play in Minnesota. I watched play in his career.
- 41:59I love Sam. I never wanted The Jets to trade
- 42:01him for a second round and a fourth round draft pick.
- 42:04I love him that much. I thought The Jets could
- 42:06absolutely win with Sam Darnold and now you're going to get a
- 42:09chance to see if Seattle wins this week.
- 42:13I think it's a shoo in that they're probably going to win
- 42:16the Super Bowl. Whoever wins this game.
- 42:18It's going to be very, very hard for the Patriots and very, very
- 42:21hard for the Broncos to beat these two teams because one team
- 42:24is one of the elite defenses in all the football and the other
- 42:28one is one of the elite offenses in football.
- 42:31And I know you're going to say, well, the Patriots are pretty
- 42:33good defensively and they're not bad offensively because I think
- 42:36they're fifth ranked in offense. They've not played against
- 42:41talented teams like this all season long.
- 42:44And Drake may go look at his statistics against the best in
- 42:48the AFC this year so far in the playoffs.
- 42:51They haven't been good. Ladies and gentlemen, they
- 42:53haven't. So I'm telling you right now, I
- 42:56I think the the experience and the back end of Matthew Stafford
- 43:01winning the Super Bowl and being the MVP of the league and all
- 43:04the confidence goes to them. But I think everything else,
- 43:08everything else goes to Seattle and McDonald.
- 43:11I trust McDonald in a big, important part of the game than
- 43:14I do is Sean McVay. Sean Mcvie does stupid things.
- 43:18He calls these stupid plays and he puts himself in harm's way.
- 43:22And he got very, very lucky, very, very lucky that Carl
- 43:25bailed them out because Carl was the one that intercepted that
- 43:29ball. If Caleb Williams completed that
- 43:31pass, the game's over. Chicago wins.
- 43:33And Matthew Stafford, I don't know if anybody remembers what
- 43:36his face was when they kicked off the ball.
- 43:39Matthew Stafford. Matthew Stafford thought they
- 43:41were going to lose the game. So and I do believe that this
- 43:45game is not going to be as close if these guys do not play at
- 43:49their strengths and beat the other teams weaknesses.
- 43:52Yeah, it's interesting because I think the Seahawks are going to
- 43:56be tested for a higher passing volume this week.
- 43:59I know Walker did very well against the Rams in the second
- 44:02meeting that they played when Seattle won that thriller on
- 44:04Thursday Night Football. But with Darnold, I think the
- 44:07matchup has to be to attack those corners that have kind of
- 44:10been kind of outside of Kobe Durant, kind of like trying to
- 44:13patch things together. The Rams secondary the last
- 44:15month of the season did struggle and even against the Panthers,
- 44:17they struggled a bit in that playoff game.
- 44:19So if they can get any level of a second receiver, because you
- 44:21know the Rams and Chris Schuler are going to game plan for
- 44:23Najigba, if they can get any level of that and Darnold can
- 44:26recognize those reads right away, that is going to be a big
- 44:29X Factor because they're going to need some kind of second
- 44:31option or AJ Barner if. Maybe are they going to try and
- 44:35push it to the to the second level and like try to get
- 44:38extended? Well, they're going to.
- 44:39He's going to have to pick his wreaths.
- 44:41Obviously they're going to force feed one second receiver.
- 44:43I'm not saying force feed Shahid or force feed Tory Horton or any
- 44:46of those guys that Darnold, if he does that, he's going to get
- 44:50uncomfortable because those are the mistakes he was making
- 44:52before he went to before he went to San Francisco really with all
- 44:55these other teams, with The Jets, with the Panthers and
- 44:57where he really struggles. So he can't be that either.
- 45:00But if he can do that and get somebody else involved against
- 45:03some Rams, I always talk about it.
- 45:05New corners essentially. They traded for Rodger McCreary
- 45:08at the deadline. They got a manual Forbes off of
- 45:10waivers and a lot of the guys besides their defensive line are
- 45:14all patchwork new things now. Seattle's defense is like that
- 45:17too, to an extent. They bring in Luchena Nuosu last
- 45:20year, DeMarcus Lawrence. They signed after the Cowboys
- 45:22after he had a really bad stint at the end of his career with
- 45:24Dallas. But at the same time, like they
- 45:27still have the more of the raw talent on the defensive side,
- 45:29whereas the Rams I think are more of a coaching game plan
- 45:31type defense. And if Darnold like gets in his
- 45:34own way, that could be the problem.
- 45:35And this is where it gets interesting because Clint
- 45:37Kubiak, who was with him in San Francisco, owned the Rams for a
- 45:40while when he was there. But at the same time, he also
- 45:43struggled with the Vikings in against the Rams in the playoffs
- 45:45last year badly. So it's going to be interesting
- 45:47to see which end of it they get there.
- 45:49The tight, the tight ends, I agree with you.
- 45:50Errol are big because they have a rotation of Ferguson, Colby,
- 45:53Parkinson's another one too, and Higbee.
- 45:55All three of those guys have had their roles.
- 45:56If they can get one of those in a mismatch against one of those
- 45:59younger safeties for the Seahawks, that could be an
- 46:01interesting one too. Because Devante Adams not 100%
- 46:03healthy either. I think they're going to have a
- 46:05hard time running the ball against that Seattle front.
- 46:07Very good inside with two inside runners with Korum and Kyron
- 46:10Williams. You know, this is to me the
- 46:15match up of is Darnold, the guy that got lost his job one year
- 46:20because he couldn't beat Sean McVeigh when he was with
- 46:22Minnesota. I think that's why he wasn't
- 46:26brought back to Minnesota. I think Minnesota really regrets
- 46:28that now after what see what they did.
- 46:32But McVeigh may have his number the first match up.
- 46:34He threw 4 picks this year in week 11 against the Rams in the
- 46:38game they lost. Second game was week 16, big
- 46:41comeback win. He had two touchdowns, 270
- 46:44yards, wasn't particularly deficient.
- 46:48I think McVeigh knows how to mess up, mess Darnold up.
- 46:52And I don't think it's just, you know, Jabba, you're saying is he
- 46:54going to press him? Is he going to go man?
- 46:57Is he going to Errol? Is he going to go one-on-one?
- 47:00I don't think it's any of that. And I think it's all that.
- 47:02I think the way to beat Sam Darnold is to keep him thinking
- 47:06right. You got to throw everything at
- 47:08these guys. It's got to be a different type
- 47:10of zone. It's got to look like man, but
- 47:12it's zone. It's got to look like zone, but
- 47:14it's man. It looks like a blitz is coming
- 47:16from the right, but it's coming from the left.
- 47:18You know, it's it's going to have to be, I assume it's going
- 47:21to be something like that because that's he's the only guy
- 47:25that really Donald's shown. He hasn't solved I think since
- 47:29he's been a starter. And if he can figure it out,
- 47:33they go to the Super Bowl. It's as simple as that.
- 47:36And if not, I think the Rams have a really simple game plan
- 47:39to beat them, make them turn the ball over and then run the ball
- 47:42down their throats. Because they're they're really
- 47:45good defensively. But if you just get the field
- 47:47position game and you play one of those low scoring games, you
- 47:51know you can win it. I don't think they're a better
- 47:53team than Seattle. I, I don't.
- 47:56I think Seattle's a much better team.
- 47:57But can Darnold? It's going.
- 47:58To be overcome this. It's going to be very, very
- 48:00loud. Matthew Stafford has had
- 48:02problems with his his headset in his helmet over the last couple
- 48:06of weeks. It's it's probably one of the
- 48:08loudest. Places and Stafford too, he's
- 48:11even said like literally we've seen it on TV where he's like
- 48:15Sean, I got this like stop, like stop being in my ear.
- 48:18Like I, I got this like I can translate it.
- 48:20And we all know Mcveigh's play calls are tremendously crazy.
- 48:26Hey look if. DJ Moore runs his route on that
- 48:29last play of the game before it gets picked off.
- 48:31Yes, we may be talking about the Bears in this spot.
- 48:33Very simply, I said the same thing and honestly, Carl bailed
- 48:36him out it. Wasn't it was DJ Moore choking?
- 48:40DJ Moore stopped his route. It's supposed to be a corner
- 48:42route. Well, inhale and he stopped it
- 48:44too. And like in the keys for
- 48:46quarterbacks and I actually, I texted Eli Manning about this.
- 48:50It's like keys when we go through progressions, like he
- 48:53never turned his head to like get the ball or put his hand up.
- 48:56Like they look for certain things.
- 48:58He stopped his route and then he turned late and it's like, well,
- 49:02I'm going to try and get it to you.
- 49:04Like so I mean, I get that there's parts of each of this
- 49:09process that you go through and I've obviously I've never played
- 49:11quarterback, but talking to somebody that's done it at a
- 49:14high, high level, it's like these are keys.
- 49:17We go off of two off of our reads, but also two, my receiver
- 49:21has to read it as well. And so he gives me those cues
- 49:25and you see that as a coach fish.
- 49:27It's like, OK, you missed it. Like he was there, his hand was
- 49:30up or he turned his head early like and you know that and he.
- 49:34I think it's exciting for Bears fans.
- 49:36You know, they lost on that. I think they're going to come
- 49:38back a lot better. You think?
- 49:39So the Rams are. I think the Rams are.
- 49:41I think they're. Going to this reminds me, just
- 49:44like Matt Nagy for his first year, Matt Nagy in Chicago,
- 49:48Mitchell Chabinsky, they they had an unbelievable season.
- 49:51They lost in the wild card game because it was just a bad, you
- 49:54know, a mistake that was made by the Chicago Bears, which cost
- 49:58them the game. And if they went a little
- 50:00further, they went to the divisional game and they lost,
- 50:03not necessarily because they won and they they almost won that
- 50:06game that hey, they're going to be better next year.
- 50:09We've seen Caleb Williams come digress sometimes.
- 50:13And I'm not saying I'm not saying that Caleb Williams will
- 50:16regress. I I'm saying that there is an
- 50:19opportunity for Caleb Williams to go into the offseason and
- 50:23figure out what he is as a quarterback and figure that out,
- 50:26something that he hasn't done over the last couple of years,
- 50:29you know, even as a college player.
- 50:30So I love Caleb Williams and I trust that Caleb Williams will
- 50:33figure it out, but not necessarily fish when you say,
- 50:36oh, next year they're going to make a bigger run.
- 50:38Teams don't make the playoffs. Look at The Jets.
- 50:40I just think that's clearly a team that showed, you know, they
- 50:45may be better, they were better than anyone thought they were
- 50:47going to be this year and they're for real going forward.
- 50:50I wanted absolutely be taken. Seriously, I wanted to mention
- 50:53that the the Ravens made an announcement today that they
- 50:55landed and hired Jesse Minter. And I think this guy was one of
- 51:00the best young coaches available this offseason.
- 51:04Defensive coordinator for the Chargers, spectacular play
- 51:08caller. And I think he fits everything
- 51:11what the Ravens like to do, especially defensively.
- 51:14He's young, he's got unique. He has a unique personality.
- 51:19I know there was something that came out recently over the last
- 51:22couple of hours and somebody asked him, what do you what do
- 51:26you think about working with Lamar?
- 51:27He says this isn't about Lamar. This is about the team.
- 51:29I don't know if that's going to piss Lamar off, but I'm sure it
- 51:33doesn't make Lamar happy that this young guy is going to come
- 51:36in and he's going to be the 1:00 calling the shots.
- 51:40This is why he didn't want John Harbaugh coming back, because he
- 51:42thought John Harbaugh was too, you know, too pushy on the way.
- 51:47He wanted him to show up the practices and do the things that
- 51:50he wanted him to do. So I, I think, I think that's
- 51:53very interesting to hear Jesse Minter say that.
- 51:55But again, Jesse Minter understands the game of
- 51:58football. He's been working with Jim
- 51:59Harbaugh. Jim Harbaugh is one of the more
- 52:02unique personalities, especially coaches and, and people to look
- 52:06up to and, and successful coach too.
- 52:08And he was successful over there with the Chargers.
- 52:11Minter in two years has really drawn up some of the great
- 52:15defenses we have seen in the last couple of years.
- 52:18So this is a guy that's going to fix the Ravens defense.
- 52:21The Ravens, which they've been so strong out over the years.
- 52:24And if you look at their pasts when they were succeeding, they
- 52:28had defensive coordinators as their head coaches.
- 52:30Just think about it. So I think this is a great hire
- 52:34for the Ravens. I think it's a slam dunk.
- 52:36It's going to take time. The Ravens are going to have to
- 52:39rebuild. I I, I will, I will say that I
- 52:42don't know who their number one is.
- 52:44They don't have a number one wide receiver.
- 52:45Flowers is a #2 he's probably one of the best number twos in
- 52:48the league, but he disappears in games.
- 52:51They don't have a number one and every time they draft of a first
- 52:54round wide receiver, they don't amount to anything or they don't
- 52:58amount to the guy that they believe he was going to be.
- 53:00So I think that's going to be a problem.
- 53:03Is Minter going to be able to figure that one out?
- 53:05I don't know. He's going to have to bring a
- 53:07good offensive coordinator with them and a guy that he could
- 53:10trust on a defensive end. But I I think this guy is a
- 53:12fantastic higher slam dunk speedy.
- 53:15Yeah, it's a game planning type defense I talked about with the
- 53:17Rams. You kind of get that same kind
- 53:19of thing with the Chargers. I think the Chargers, remember
- 53:21he inherited a defense that was the worst pass defense in NFL
- 53:24history the previous year in 2023.
- 53:26Now, granted, obviously Harbaugh drafted some new players, which
- 53:28helps too, but still, this is a game planning type defense that
- 53:31I think the Ravens have needed. Like they've tried to strive on
- 53:34their talent once their talent either got old or just not good
- 53:36in key positions like edge rusher, like corner that they
- 53:39they've had trouble developing outside of Marlon Humphrey in
- 53:40recent years. They need somebody that can game
- 53:42plan like this. Look at the Chargers secondary
- 53:45from 23 to 24 and look at the edge rushing outside of Khalil
- 53:48Mack. Like they didn't really have a
- 53:49household name, but they get pressure on the quarterback and
- 53:52they need that kind of thing with the Ravens at key position.
- 53:55So I definitely like this hire too.
- 53:56There's a reason he was probably the highest touted defensive
- 53:58coordinator on on as a head coach.
- 54:00And the Ravens, I mean, they've only had defensive head coaches
- 54:02in their franchise history and they get another one here.
- 54:04That's a very good hire. National champion with Michigan,
- 54:08right? He's he was with Harbaugh at
- 54:10Michigan. Harbaugh brings him with him to
- 54:12the NFL, tells you everything you need to know about him and
- 54:15then how they've performed. I think you Speedy, you
- 54:19mentioned they were pretty bad secondary.
- 54:22And Derwin James, you know, when he came into the league was
- 54:24looked at as this great player. And then for a couple of years
- 54:27there, he just disappeared. Well, with Jesse Minter, he's
- 54:30one of the best safeties in football once again.
- 54:33And I think it's just a testament.
- 54:35You see, this guy knows how to coach football and he knows how
- 54:37to get guys to play better. Lamar might not like it.
- 54:40I agree. It's the same type of coach as
- 54:42Harbaugh. He was there for four years as a
- 54:45defensive assistant from 2017 to 2020 with the Ravens.
- 54:49So it's not that he's unfamiliar with Lamar or the program.
- 54:52So I I think he already knows a little bit about, you know, how
- 54:56Lamar is in his temperament, whether or not I guess he
- 54:59assumes he can handle it and we'll find out.
- 55:02But I, I agree, Speedy, I think he was an arrow, you know, by
- 55:06far the best defensive young coach out on the market probably
- 55:10for the last two or three years. Thank you to all the Apple and
- 55:13Spotify fans from the audio and video.

- 55:48on a website, Worldwide Sports Radio Network.
- 55:50We will be back on Monday. Who do we have on?
- 55:53All right, so we have a, a new guy Raiders running back.
- 55:56He's currently on the league right now.
- 55:57His name is Chris Collier. He's actually from Long Island,
- 55:59went to, grew up in Hempstead, went to Cedar Point or
- 56:03Cedarhurst. I think it is high school.
- 56:05He's one of the Raiders backup running backs.
- 56:06He'll be joining us at 8:45 and then on Thursday.
- 56:08Time to be determined is a guy that's currently in the NFL,
- 56:12that's one of our favorites, and Mr. Foye Luiken.
- 56:14We'll see what time eventually. Foye.
- 56:15Foye will be back on He's. Going to be joining us, we could
- 56:18talk about the Jaguars. He had a great season this year.
- 56:21He was one of the best tacklers again in the NFL.
- 56:24He's an elite player. He really is.
- 56:26And Foye loves coming on the show and we love getting him on
- 56:29the show. So we'll we'll get into the
- 56:31Jaguars and his new coach what Travis Hunter, we're playing
- 56:36with Travis Hunter in his first year the Gremlin and what is his
- 56:40thoughts next year with their with the season falling short,
- 56:43how does he feel about next season and if they have a chance
- 56:46to win a Super Bowl? So we'll get into that with
- 56:48Foyer on Thursday. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 56:51that's it for our show. Speedy, I have anything to say.
- 56:54Job anybody? I'm all set.
- 56:57Great show guys. Thanks for thanks for tuning in
- 56:59and definitely just a battle with Spader.
- 57:02Blow my back out as we all say goodnight and farewell.
