- 0:00Speaker 1: Toby and Chili Mornings on demand on ninety seven point
- 0:04Speaker 1: one wash FM.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Toby and Chili in the Morning, ninety seven point one
- 0:08Speaker 2: wash FM. Good morning, I'm Kiddosha. Great to have you
- 0:11Speaker 2: here on a Tuesday morning. How you feeling this morning,
- 0:14Speaker 2: I'm feeling great, Chili. One year ago today, I accidentally
- 0:19Speaker 2: quit drinking.
- 0:20Speaker 3: What do you mean you accidentally stop drinking alcohol? How
- 0:23Speaker 3: does that happen?
- 0:24Speaker 2: So I had a friend who had stopped, and he
- 0:27Speaker 2: was like six or seven months into his journey, and
- 0:29Speaker 2: I'm like, well, I just want to see how long
- 0:30Speaker 2: I can go for and so I started and I
- 0:34Speaker 2: haven't had alcohol in a year, which, as you know,
- 0:38Speaker 2: is a lot for me.
- 0:39Speaker 3: That is a lot for most people, because people, I
- 0:43Speaker 3: guess think of alcohol as like celebratory beverage, potentially maybe
- 0:47Speaker 3: having it when you're grilling and stuff.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Are you going to stick with the not having any.
- 0:53Speaker 2: It's interesting, you say, that's kind of like, now I've
- 0:55Speaker 2: hit this big milestone one year. Now, maybe I start
- 0:58Speaker 2: back up, you know, But don't you feel better? I
- 1:01Speaker 2: feel better, I sleep, all things better. So that's the
- 1:05Speaker 2: hard trade.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Yeah, No, that's great.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I will tell you the one thing that I learned
- 1:09Speaker 2: in this process. And I think what made it so
- 1:11Speaker 2: easy was I didn't set a timeline. I didn't say
- 1:14Speaker 2: I'm going to do it for a year. I just said,
- 1:16Speaker 2: let me see how long I can do it for.
- 1:18Speaker 3: So and I'm guessing it was the toughest when it's
- 1:23Speaker 3: like a holiday or an occasion and people are raising
- 1:27Speaker 3: their glass and you're like, hey, here's my a beer.
- 1:31Speaker 2: No, there's plenty of many beers. It's fine, all right,
- 1:34Speaker 2: good luck to you if you're on a journey as well.
- 1:36Speaker 2: We're glad you're here on a Tuesday morning and a
- 1:38Speaker 2: busy Tuesday morning. It's election day, so Chilly's gonna update

- 2:11Speaker 3: Millions of Americans are going to be receiving only partial
- 2:13Speaker 3: snap benefits this month as the government shut down continues.
- 2:17Speaker 3: In a court filing, the current administration said it will
- 2:19Speaker 3: use contingency funds to cover half of eligible households benefits
- 2:24Speaker 3: following court orders last week. The DC Council is set
- 2:29Speaker 3: to vote today on extending the city's youth curfew. Mayor
- 2:33Speaker 3: Muriel Bowser enacted the five day curfew after teens caused
- 2:38Speaker 3: disturbances in the Navy yard on Halloween night. Rockville Police
- 2:42Speaker 3: have concluded their investigation into reports of needles that were
- 2:45Speaker 3: found in Halloween candy. Officials say that a nine year
- 2:49Speaker 3: old child confessed to placing sewing needles in gummy bear
- 2:54Speaker 3: packages given to two children. The Dulles Expo Center is
- 2:58Speaker 3: set to close at the end of this year, and

- 3:23Speaker 3: Service has launched its annual Operation Santa campaign, which connects
- 3:28Speaker 3: families in need with volunteers who help fulfill holiday wishes.

- 3:44Speaker 2: All right, Chilli, thanks a lot. Coming up next our
- 3:47Speaker 2: morning mindset and inspirational quote to get you in the
- 3:50Speaker 2: right mindset as we get going together here on a
- 3:52Speaker 2: Tuesday morning, Chili, we'll share that quote with us next,
- 3:54Speaker 2: plus more music with Toby and Chilly in the Morning
- 3:56Speaker 2: on ninety seven point one wash FM. Great Eighties Throwback
- 4:01Speaker 2: from the Bengals. Ninety seven point one wash FM Tuesday
- 4:05Speaker 2: Morning in DC. It's Toby and Chili in the Morning.
- 4:07Speaker 2: I'm Kidosha. It's time for our morning mindset.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Marilyn Monroe once said, sometimes good things fall apart so
- 4:14Speaker 3: better things could fall together. Basically, when something in your
- 4:19Speaker 3: life doesn't work out, like a job, a relationship, or
- 4:22Speaker 3: a plan that you had, it can actually make room
- 4:24Speaker 3: for something even better to come along. I know that's
- 4:26Speaker 3: hard to think about, but try not to get too
- 4:29Speaker 3: discouraged when things go wrong, because those setbacks might be
- 4:32Speaker 3: clearing the way for opportunities you didn't even expect. So again,
- 4:36Speaker 3: Marilyn Monroe said, sometimes good things fall apart, so better
- 4:41Speaker 3: things could fall together. And you can find that quote
- 4:43Speaker 3: on the tobyanchilipage at washefm dot com.
- 4:46Speaker 2: It's also on our Instagram page. If you want to
- 4:48Speaker 2: share that with somebody, just search WASHFM on Instagram and
- 4:51Speaker 2: it's easy to share that video. Then thank you, Chili.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Coming up next, there is a company proposing technology that
- 4:57Speaker 2: would be sunlight to Earth even at night. I know
- 5:02Speaker 2: it sounds like it's right out of a sci fi movie, right,
- 5:04Speaker 2: So we're asking the question this morning, what sci fi
- 5:06Speaker 2: or TV tech do you wish existed in real life?
- 5:09Speaker 2: Eight six six nine two seven four three sixty one
- 5:12Speaker 2: to join the conversation, we'll get some of your calls.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Coming up next, Toby and Chilly in the morning, ninety
- 5:17Speaker 2: seven point one wash FM. I'm kidd o'she. We're asking
- 5:21Speaker 2: the question, what sci fi or TV technology do you
- 5:24Speaker 2: wish existed? Here's the reason we're talking about it.
- 5:27Speaker 3: At California, startup called reflect Orbital wants to sell sunlight
- 5:31Speaker 3: at night. They're gonna use these satellites with big mirrors
- 5:34Speaker 3: to bounce sunlight back to Earth after dark, to give
- 5:37Speaker 3: like solar panels or cities extra light when the sun's
- 5:41Speaker 3: not shining. But experts are like that could cause problems, Yeah,
- 5:44Speaker 3: you know, like light pollution, hurt the wildlife and such.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Or my sleep What would you want to see hath
- 5:51Speaker 2: been Chile if you could?
- 5:52Speaker 3: If those sleep pods that stop your aging? Oh, I
- 5:56Speaker 3: would love to slow down the growth of my brain
- 5:59Speaker 3: and all the other things.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I think I would agree with you on that. I'd
- 6:02Speaker 2: also add flying cars to the list. I'd like to
- 6:04Speaker 2: see that happen, which sounds like we might not be
- 6:06Speaker 2: too far away.
- 6:07Speaker 4: No, not at all, We're just almost of the Jetsons.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Okay eight six six ninety two seven four three six
- 6:13Speaker 2: one Lisa in falls Church, what would you put on
- 6:15Speaker 2: the list?
- 6:16Speaker 5: I'd take the Star Trek transporter, the hands down, no
- 6:19Speaker 5: more traffic, no more lines, Just beat me to work and.
- 6:22Speaker 4: I'm there, finally be on time for once in my life.
- 6:25Speaker 4: That would be the best.
- 6:27Speaker 3: The transport because I hate flying, so this would be
- 6:30Speaker 3: like you're there literally in seconds.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I don't know that I'd do it to work, though,
- 6:34Speaker 2: I'd go somewhere else, but.
- 6:36Speaker 4: You could constantly do it.
- 6:37Speaker 2: And you're true, true Brad in Bethesda. What would you
- 6:40Speaker 2: put on the list?
- 6:41Speaker 6: If anyone says anything other than a lightsaber, they're not.
- 6:45Speaker 6: I mean, how could you not want anything other than that?
- 6:47Speaker 6: It's the ultimate sci fi invention. Yeah, who doesn't want
- 6:51Speaker 6: to freaking the lightsaber?
- 6:52Speaker 3: Well, you'd have to be a little bit careful how
- 6:54Speaker 3: you're swinging that thing. Yeah, so you can do a
- 6:56Speaker 3: lot of destruction in a very short amount of time.
- 6:58Speaker 3: But thanks for the call.
- 7:00Speaker 2: If you want to join the conversation, open up the
- 7:02Speaker 2: free iHeartRadio app right now and tap that red microphone
- 7:05Speaker 2: when you're listening to wash FM, it's going to send
- 7:07Speaker 2: a message directly here to the studio and we'll share
- 7:10Speaker 2: your message here on the air. Chili's putting together top

- 8:12Speaker 3: The Senate will vote for the fourteenth time, with Majority
- 8:16Speaker 3: Leader John Thune expressing optimism for a resolution this week. Meanwhile,
- 8:21Speaker 3: the USDA plans to use contingency funds to provide partial
- 8:25Speaker 3: snap benefits to millions who are affected. Rockville police say
- 8:29Speaker 3: that a nine year old child was responsible for placing
- 8:33Speaker 3: sewing needles in Halloween candy that was given to two children.

- 9:28Speaker 2: happens when you put zero effort into your Halloween costume? Well,
- 9:33Speaker 2: you end up on national TV. I'll tell you what
- 9:36Speaker 2: happened to me and why I've been getting a lot
- 9:38Speaker 2: of text messages from people all over the nation. Coming
- 9:41Speaker 2: up next, All right, off too good. Start here on
- 9:43Speaker 2: a Tuesday together on ninety seven point one Wash FM
- 9:46Speaker 2: with Toby and Chile in the morning. I'm kiddo'shae. What
- 9:49Speaker 2: happens when you put zero effort into your Halloween costume,
- 9:52Speaker 2: well you get national attention for it.
- 9:54Speaker 4: What the heck are you talking about?
- 9:56Speaker 2: So Friday from my TV job on Good Morning Washington,
- 9:59Speaker 2: and instead of making me dress up in a costume,
- 10:02Speaker 2: they brought in a face painter to face paint anything
- 10:06Speaker 2: that I wanted, and I said, well, just paint a pirate,
- 10:09Speaker 2: make me look like a pirate. So I wore my
- 10:11Speaker 2: regular clothes and I just had my face painted like
- 10:13Speaker 2: a pirate.
- 10:14Speaker 3: And I saw the picture. It's like half your face.
- 10:16Speaker 3: I couldn't even tell it as a pirate.
- 10:18Speaker 4: But how did you end up? What do you mean?
- 10:20Speaker 4: National TV?
- 10:21Speaker 2: So then John Oliver on HBO does his show and
- 10:24Speaker 2: he does little clips of people and local TV shows
- 10:27Speaker 2: that are talking about Halloween. And I made it into
- 10:30Speaker 2: there saying look at the little effort I put into Halloween.
- 10:34Speaker 4: Wow.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Yeah, so now everyone got to see my Halloween costume.
- 10:37Speaker 4: You know what, I'm actually kind of excited about this.
- 10:40Speaker 2: You think this is good luck for us, because.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Your dumb luck if it rubs off into our costume
