- 0:04As I look around, I think back and I remember all those times I listened to preachers teach about what's in the Word of God, and then I got the Holy Spirit, and I realized that just'cause it's in the Bible doesn't mean they understand.
- 0:28What am I talking about?
- 0:30False teaching.
- 0:33False teaching.
- 0:35Now, I know you're saying,"Well, hold up now.
- 0:38If it's in the Bible, then it makes sense." Well, I remember, and you would,'cause I'm gonna ask a question, I want you to think about it, and I want you to really think about it hard and long now.
- 0:53When you're talking about the Ten Commandment, thou shall not kill, thou shall not steal, thou shall not commit adultery, thou shall not lie, uh, false, you know, though bear false witness against thy neighbor.
- 1:05Which law, we talking the Ten Commandment now, which law is the worst?
- 1:13You know, they came up to Jesus and it was asking a question, which law is the best?
- 1:20Well, which law is the worst?
- 1:24Something for you to think about.
- 1:26Thou shall not kill, thou shall not steal, thou shall not lie, thou shall not commit adultery, thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
- 1:34Now, I mean, which law is the worst?
- 1:40We'll get back to that later, but let's move on, and let's get into this, and then we'll get back to that, which law is the worst.
- 1:49In 1 Timothy 1:1-11, Paul, the apostle of Jesus Christ, is trying to show us something that we really need to pay attention to.
- 2:02We talking about false teaching.
- 2:04But before he gets in depth about that, he starts to explain who he is, and he starts out in verse one, it says,"Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus," we talking the Messiah,"according to the commandment of God," who?
- 2:20Our Savior,"and of Christ Jesus," who is our hope.
- 2:25If He's not our hope, I'm telling you right now, we're in trouble.
- 2:30He has to be our hope.
- 2:33But he's talking to Timothy.
- 2:36See, we are reading the Word of God, but most of us don't understand it has to come from somebody who's well-known in this walk.
- 2:48Paul is a prophet of God.
- 2:50And he's talking to Timothy, who's sitting under him, who's being taught, and he says,"To Timothy, my true son in the faith, grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
- 3:05Just as I urged you upon my departure for Macedonia, I remained on to at Ephesus." He said,"To remain on at Ephes- uh, Ephes- Ephesus," um, Ephesians is really what it was saying, so,"so that you would instruct certain people not to teach strange doctrine, nor to pay attention to myths and unl- un- and useless genealogy." It's endless.
- 3:32It keeps going on and on.
- 3:33Why?
- 3:34"Which give rise to useless speculation rather than advance the plan of God," which is what?
- 3:40By faith.
- 3:41So I urge you now.
- 3:44Now, we're talking about false teaching.
- 3:47He's telling Timothy,"I need you to stay here while I'm gone, but be aware of this." What am I talking about in false teaching?
- 3:58We talking about the law.
- 4:00People talk about the law.
- 4:01You can see them in the churches, they talk about the law.
- 4:04We talking about people who are homosexual and they have called themselves the preacher.
- 4:08We talking about women preachers.
- 4:10We talking about people who are liars, people who are murderers, people who are Christian but yet having adulterous relationships.
- 4:16We're talking about things that Paul is trying to show Timothy,"Hey, pay attention.
- 4:23There's a lot of false teaching going on here." Back to the question I asked earlier.
- 4:30Which law is the worst?
- 4:35Somebody would say,"Well, thou shall not kill." That's the worst.
- 4:41Then somebody else would says,"Well, thou shall not commit adultery." That's the worst.
- 4:47Someone say,"Well, thou shall not lie." To be honest with you, all of them the same.
- 4:54And now you say,"Whoa, now, they're not different levels?" No, they all are sin.
- 5:00And what he said?
- 5:00No, they all sin.
- 5:03But now I'm gonna say something that's gonna confuse some people.
- 5:08The law wasn't made for me.
- 5:10What?
- 5:11The law was never made for me, and that's false teaching.
- 5:18And I know you saying,"Well, it, it's in the Bible." It is in there.
- 5:24But did you ever go further than the law?
- 5:27What does it say about the law?
- 5:30Ah, now we're talking.
- 5:33'Cause now in First Timothy chapter 1 through 11, we on verse 5,"But the goal of our instruction," is what?
- 5:41Love from a what?
- 5:43Pure heart.
- 5:44How many people do you know can literally love you with no intentions, no ulterior motives, nothing to gain back, just love?
- 6:03From a good conscience.
- 6:05Well, the minute you say a good conscience, it has to come from a pure being because you can't have a good conscience if you're a immoral person.
- 6:14Doesn't work.
- 6:16And from a sincere faith.
- 6:18You know, a lot of people say,"I believe in God.
- 6:22I believe in Jesus." Well, Satan believes.
- 6:26Satan believe in God.
- 6:28It's not gonna follow.
- 6:30So back to what I was covering certain things, the law never was meant for us.
- 6:36For people who say they are preacher but they are homosexual cannot be of God.
- 6:42Women preachers, not of God.
- 6:44Liars, murderers cannot be of God.
- 6:46Christians who are having adulterous relations cannot be of God.
- 6:50Those are all flesh.
- 6:53Now, I know you're saying to yourself,"Whoa, we talking about false teaching." I haven't even got to what the word says yet about false teaching.
- 7:01I'm giving you the background of how Paul is laying this out so people can get a understanding that now can move it.
- 7:09I'm not shocked that people don't know this.
- 7:12I'm not shocked.
- 7:13I understand.
- 7:16That's why in verse 6 it says,"Some people have strayed from these things and have turned aside to fruitless disobedience, wanting to be teachers of the law." Why do you wanna be a teacher of the law?
- 7:33That makes no sense.
- 7:36But it's gonna explain what it's talking about.
- 7:40Even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they have made confident assertions.
- 7:50So when I listen to people and they wanna debate certain things, I'm like,"Wow, they don't have a clue about the word of God." But watch what it does when it shifts.
- 8:03Uh, we talking about now in verse 8 is where it starts to give you some understanding.
- 8:08But we know- It didn't say we guessed this now.
- 8:12We talking about somebody who really understands through the Spirit of God what was God's plan.
- 8:19But we know the law is good.
- 8:22Now, I know you're saying,"Well, you just tell me that we, we shouldn't be under the law." I did, but I didn't tell you the law was bad.
- 8:32What the law says is correct, but it's deeper than that.
- 8:38Now, I know you're saying to yourself,"But you just tell me we know the law is good." It is, but here's the average person understanding.
- 8:52They go to the Ten Commandments and they says,"Well, you said the law is good." Well,'cause you locking the law in the Ten Commandments.
- 9:00Really, it was 613 commandments, and if you break any one of them, you break all of them.
- 9:07So now who can stand under the law?
- 9:11Nobody.
- 9:12It was never intended for you to stand under the law.
- 9:14It was to show you where you are in your walk.
- 9:20'Cause if you don't know where you are in your walk, how do you know what was the purpose of your walk?
- 9:26That's why it says in verse nine,"Realizing the fact," uh, it wasn't, wasn't a guess.
- 9:33"Realizing the fact that the law is not made for a righteous person." If I got the Spirit of God, if you got the Spirit of God, the law was never made for you.
- 9:47Who teaches that?
- 9:49Somebody with the Spirit of God, somebody that's been called by God to teach what God is saying.
- 9:55I'm gonna say it again.
- 9:56"Realizing the fact that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are," what?
- 10:03"Lawless and rebellious." So when somebody say,"Well, I'm under the law," well, that makes you a lawless and a rebellious person.
- 10:12"For the ungodly, the sinners, for the unholy and the worldly, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexual immorality," the immoral people,"for homosexuals." I'm just telling you what the Word says.
- 10:38See, we wanna cover it, but we don't wanna cover all of it.
- 10:42And then he goes on,"Slanderers, liars, for prejudiced persons, for whatever else," he didn't stop now,"for whatever else is contrary to sound teaching." We talking about false teaching.
- 10:5995% of all religion is false teaching.
- 11:05You can like it or not, it's true.
- 11:08This is the problem with truly understanding the word of God.
- 11:12According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.
- 11:22Now, Paul is telling you, you can listen to false teachers, but understand that it is false.
- 11:29I'm not coming to you as a false teacher.
- 11:32I know I'm righteous.
- 11:34So I'm telling you and showing you things that most people will never see.
- 11:40There's not a church that I can preach this message to.
- 11:46Not one.
- 11:50I don't know of one.
- 11:52Why?
- 11:53Because they all pretty much operate under false teaching.
- 11:57They don't even know this fact that the law was never meant for righteous people.
- 12:01Once you have the spirit of God, you cannot be judged.
- 12:04Not by man.
- 12:05Why?
- 12:05Because the only person that can judge you is God and you got the spirit of God in you.
- 12:08You know what's right and wrong.
- 12:10Doesn't mean that you won't sin.
- 12:14It doesn't mean that.
- 12:16You still have the ability to sin.
- 12:19But even with the Holy Spirit, if you sin, you're going to pay for it, but he's not going to charge it to you because faith is faith.
- 12:30Once he promised you that you were saved, you're safe.
- 12:37See the difference between real teaching of God and false teaching of God?
- 12:41That's why so many people who call themselves Christians, followers of Christ, fall into condemnations.
- 12:49Why?
- 12:49Because they keep judging according to the law.
- 12:53Well, I just did this.
- 12:55Well, if you was really of this, you wouldn't do that because your conscience, which is through the Holy Spirit, would be like, you know this ain't right now.
- 13:04And the guilt would be so much that you would repent.
- 13:08That's why it said a just man falls 10 times.
- 13:10He didn't fall because he was just.
- 13:14He's just because he keeps getting up knowing he was wrong.
- 13:18This is a process.
- 13:19You don't wake up one day and say, oh, I'm saved and baptized and now I ain't going to sin no more.
- 13:23That's a lie.
- 13:26The process.
- 13:27When the Spirit first come into you as a seed, it's so small it doesn't change your behavior because it has to grow.
- 13:35It is growing by the watering of the word.
- 13:36And if you don't get the watering of the word, it can't grow.
- 13:38And if it doesn't grow, it doesn't mean you're not saved.
- 13:40You don't have the Holy Spirit.
- 13:41It can't grow to get you some fruit so you can change from fruit of love, peace.
- 13:51We now, we start talking about long suffering, patience, goodness, godliness, now meekness.
- 13:57Now you can truly learn to be humble because now you're walking in something you didn't have before, and that's the Spirit of God that's allowing you to be operating at a good nature.
- 14:08That's why it's a goodness.
- 14:10Now, why?
- 14:10I don't do good because I want to do good.
- 14:12I do good because I'm good.
- 14:14I, I don't just stop lying because I hate lying.
- 14:17I stop lying because I know it's wrong, and I stop doing it because I'm not trying to impress nobody.
- 14:21Most people, when they're lying, they're trying to impress somebody.
- 14:24Once you get to be who you really are, you stop trying to impress people, and you just be you.
- 14:28They can like it or not, guess what?
- 14:30It doesn't matter because you stop trying to please man, you start trying to please God, and that's why the Word says you either please God or man, you won't do both.
- 14:36You're either pleasing man or God, but you're not doing both.
- 14:38I know if I'm pleasing God, I'm not gonna please man.
- 14:40I'm not, I'm not shocked.
- 14:43People like,"Well, well, that's, that's, that's hard truth." I understand that.
- 14:46Why?
- 14:46Would you rather me lie to you?
- 14:47Well, I know if I lie, I can't inherit.
- 14:50Why?
- 14:50Because no lies will inherit the kingdom of God.
- 14:53If you truly a believer, there's no reason to lie.
- 14:55Why?
- 14:56Because God, there's no lying in Him.
- 14:58We talk about false teaching.
- 15:00The law, we can get-- you can fall under it if you want to, but it was never meant for you.
- 15:05It was meant for the children of Israel after they came out of bondage.
- 15:09We take it upon ourself to put ourself under the law.
- 15:12People who are homosexual, well, the Word tells you,"Okay, this is what the law is for." Why?
- 15:18I'm telling you that's wrong.
- 15:20Don't wanna listen if you want to, but I'm telling you it's wrong.
- 15:23Women preaching, I'm telling you it's wrong.
- 15:25Liars, wrong.
- 15:27Murderers, lie.
- 15:28Christians who have an adulterous relationship, wrong.
- 15:30Feeding flesh.
- 15:31That's the word for today.
- 15:32We talk about false teaching.
- 15:33You can get it or not get it, but to me, all up to you because guess what?
- 15:38The Word will be true, and it tells you there will be false teaching, and they are upon us today.
- 15:45That is His Word.
