0:25
Cassandra: Listeners, and I'd like to welcome you to Is Your Way in Your Way podcast.
0:30
Cassandra: And I am your host for those new listeners.
0:32
Cassandra: My name is Cassandra Crawley Mayo.
0:36
Cassandra: And I also wanted to share with you, it's not so much many of you may not be aware, the title of my book is the same title as my podcast.
0:49
Cassandra: So it is about the book, but it's not about the book.
0:52
Cassandra: So what this is all about is your mirror.
0:55
Cassandra: As we go through this process and we talk about things that's related to self-improvement, empowerment, I want you to kind of look in the mirror and see whether you are seeing yourself.
1:08
Cassandra: Because I always, you know, I always say, are you living your best life on your terms?
1:15
Cassandra: And many people think that's a cliche, but I don't.
1:19
Cassandra: I always say this are you living in a way that maximizes your happiness, your authenticity, and your fulfillment?
1:31
Cassandra: Now think about that.
1:32
Cassandra: And as you're thinking about that, I also want you to act in a way that's aligned with your values, well-being, and pursuing rather than just dreaming.
1:45
Cassandra: Oh, today we have a special guest by the name of Jinny Priem, and I'm going to introduce her.
1:51
Cassandra: But our topic today is the unsubscribed shift.
1:55
Cassandra: Jenny Prim's surprising approach to success.
2:00
Cassandra: And I'm going to introduce her to the stage.
2:04
Cassandra: Hello, Jenny.
2:05
Cassandra: How are you?
2:06
Cassandra: Hello, I'm doing fantastic.
2:08
Ginny: Thank you.
2:09
Cassandra: Yeah, wow, what a pleasure to have you on.
2:12
Cassandra: I would like to read your bio just so my listeners will get a better understanding of what qualifies you to do the work that you're doing.
2:23
Cassandra: Jenny is a master certified professional life coach, number one best-selling author, and host of the globally topped ranked podcast, Drinking with Jen.
2:36
Cassandra: I'll tell you about that when I when I saw her title, what I was thinking.
2:40
Cassandra: After uncovering a shocking truth about a man she loved who was not who he claimed to be, Jenny turned personal heartbreak into a powerful journey of healing and growth.
2:53
Cassandra: Drawing from over 20 years in corporate leadership and emotional intelligence, she created Jen Path, G-I-N-P-A-T-H, a transformational framework that helps people grow through adversity rather than be defined by it.
3:11
Cassandra: Today, she inspires audiences worldwide to reclaim their story and take their next bold step forward.
3:20
Cassandra: Wow.
3:20
Cassandra: So that's Jenny's bio.
3:22
Cassandra: So you got to learn a little bit about who she is.
3:25
Cassandra: Jenny, before what was your life like before you started working for corporate?
3:31
Ginny: Oh, before corporate, gosh, that was a million lifetimes ago.
3:36
Ginny: Um I started corporate really, really young.
3:40
Ginny: I graduated college when I was 20, and I already had a full-time job in corporate America before I even graduated.
3:46
Ginny: So I mean, being a teenager, be you know, just I always was really um driven to achieve and you know, kind of get to the next thing.
4:00
Cassandra: So when you were that that age growing up, was there anything that you dreamed about that you wanted to do?
4:07
Cassandra: You know, I know many people ask individuals when they're very young.
4:11
Cassandra: What do you want to be when you grow up?
4:13
Cassandra: I'm like, I don't know, I'm so young.
4:15
Cassandra: But I did have some thoughts in my mind of things that I'd wanted to do and be.
4:19
Cassandra: Did you have any when you were growing up in school?
4:23
Ginny: You know, I think I had this idea of success that it was like, you know, you get the title, you get the big salary, you make a lot of money, you get a fancy car, and in this hustle, you hustle, right?
4:35
Ginny: Like this hustle culture.
4:36
Ginny: To me, I think when I was young and also based on the people that I had, you know, around me, that was kind of what identified success.
4:47
Cassandra: Okay.
4:47
Cassandra: So so in other words, you knew you wanted to be successful in one RAM or another, it sounds like you know, but I think that I think that I the idea of success shifts for people over time, right?
5:00
Ginny: So you're asking me what it meant to me back then.
5:02
Ginny: That is not what defines success to me now, whatsoever.
5:06
Cassandra: Okay.
5:06
Cassandra: Let me ask you this, then what does what how do you define success now?
5:12
Ginny: I think success now is really getting in alignment with yourself and finding what really is meaningful to you, uh, finding what matters.
5:23
Ginny: And you know, you in your intro, you use some words like authenticity, right?
5:27
Ginny: Like being authentic to who you truly are, not being what everybody else thinks you should be.
5:34
Cassandra: Okay, great, great.
5:35
Cassandra: Now, what qualified you to be a to become a certified professional life coach?
5:41
Cassandra: Why did you choose that field?
5:45
Ginny: Well, so it really kind of stems back from my experience in a heart of heartbreak.
5:51
Ginny: I ended up coming home one day to realize that my partner was basically living a double life.
5:56
Ginny: Uh, he and his kids were living in my house and it really just imploded everything.
6:01
Ginny: You know, here I had this person.
6:03
Ginny: I thought that he was one thing and he was a complete monster and a fraud in every way imaginable.
6:09
Ginny: I had these two kids that I love.
6:11
Ginny: Um, and then everything just changed immediately overnight, and it shook me to my core.
6:17
Ginny: I mean, it really shattered and imploded everything.
6:20
Ginny: And as I started putting the pieces back together, that's when I really started realizing how out of alignment I was with myself and how I was over functioning and how I was trying to be everything that I thought everybody else wanted me to be.
6:33
Ginny: And that's when I kind of could develop, I published my first book about that story, number one bestseller, you're my favorite, and then um my guided journal.
6:41
Ginny: And through that process, as I was planning my exit from corporate, that was one of the things that I wanted to do is, you know, how do you help pull other people along the way?
6:51
Ginny: And so I sourced an ICF accredited uh program and you know, went through the whole certification process, lots and lots of hours um, you know, to get that.
7:01
Ginny: So today now I do, as you mentioned, keynote speaking.
7:04
Ginny: I'm an author.
7:05
Ginny: I just released my third book, unsubscribe.
7:07
Ginny: I've got my unsubscribe podcast.
7:09
Ginny: Um, I do coaching and yeah, so those are the four the four main kind of parts of my business.
7:16
Cassandra: Yeah, yeah.
7:17
Cassandra: You know, in the beginning, when I talked about um live what you living your best life looks like on your terms, and I asked the question, it's all about maximizing your happiness, your authenticity, and your fulfillment.
7:29
Cassandra: When you were in this relationship, and I'm asking because of my audience, and many times some relationships could actually be in their way, it's not enabling them to be happy, fulfilled, or an authentic.
7:45
Cassandra: What specifically, well, let me ask you this how I mean, what what was going through your mind?
7:55
Cassandra: What triggered you to say, okay, this is it?
7:59
Cassandra: And I asked that because a lot of individuals struggle with gets getting out of something that's not serving you.
8:09
Cassandra: Tell my audience what what was it about you, or was it that bad, or what happened to help people get unstuck?
8:17
Cassandra: Because a lot of people are stuck in relationships that are not enabling them to live their best life.
8:23
Ginny: Yeah, well, for me, it was evidence.
8:26
Ginny: Um, I had a friend, I was on a work trip and a friend wanted to urgently meet for cocktails at 10 p.m.
8:30
Ginny: on a Tuesday night when I landed.
8:32
Ginny: And she proceeded to display an arrangement of evidence about this man that was living in my house, who I thought was one person and turned out to be completely different.
8:42
Ginny: I was able to verify some of the evidence.
8:45
Ginny: And so for me, the relationship was over immediately.
8:48
Ginny: I had him out of my house that weekend.
8:50
Ginny: All of that said, um, there were signs, there were indicators that I had been ignoring, you know, red flags.
8:58
Ginny: I was ignoring my intuition and my body had been screaming at me.
9:02
Ginny: During the relationship, I actually had precancerous skin can pre-cancerous skin lesions removed from my body.
9:09
Ginny: My hair was all breaking off and falling out.
9:11
Ginny: And at the height of the stress, I even got shingles on my face in my 30s, which is not normal.
9:19
Ginny: So I think sometimes our bodies are telling us and indicating to us, and like from in my case, I like to say it was screaming at me, saying, something is wrong.
9:29
Ginny: You need to start paying attention.
9:30
Ginny: And once I removed that relationship from my life, everything started to become more clear.
9:35
Ginny: You know, the narcissistic abuse that I had endured from him was also part of my family of origin story, and was also then part of who I was picking as friends and coworkers that I was surrounding myself with.
9:48
Ginny: So I had to do a lot of housekeeping, a lot of deep inner looking at my own patterns and behaviors before I could even start down this new path.
9:58
Cassandra: Yeah, yeah.
9:59
Cassandra: And that's why I talked about in the beginning also, it's not so much the book is your way in your way.
10:05
Cassandra: It's about let's all look in the mirror and see, you know, what's really going on with ourselves.
10:12
Cassandra: So I appreciate you sharing that information because I know it was needed.
10:17
Cassandra: And it you appeared you got to a point where I'm I'm just I'm just out of it.
10:23
Cassandra: You know, I'm I'm sick and tired of it.
10:25
Cassandra: Um, and another thing, and transitioning out of that, did you have what type of support supported you in moving forward?
10:39
Ginny: So I did a couple, I started incorporating a few different things.
10:42
Ginny: I ended up going on this meditation retreat, which I had never meditated before for a single second in my life.
10:47
Ginny: And but you know, why don't I just go on a five-day trip in another country and you know, meditate every day?
10:53
Ginny: But it was one of the most transformative experiences for me.
10:56
Ginny: And that was really where I started doing a lot of, like you said, looking in the mirror.
11:00
Ginny: I love that you use that.
11:01
Ginny: Um, because you do like only you can change for you.
11:06
Ginny: And I needed to make some changes because I was completely over functioning.
11:10
Ginny: I was, like I said, trying to be everything to everybody.
11:13
Ginny: And I do have a great support system, friends, family that I love and and trust.
11:19
Ginny: Um, and I just did a ton of research.
11:22
Ginny: I really got super curious and gathered so much information.
11:27
Ginny: I started to be more intentional about where and who I spent my time and energy with.
11:32
Ginny: Um, and you'd be surprised at how big of an impact that can have.
11:38
Cassandra: Absolutely, absolutely.
11:40
Cassandra: And I always talk about uh, even though corporations have a board of directors, I think personally we should have a board of directors of those individuals that that are in our circle that has our best interest at heart.
11:54
Cassandra: And and I've had friends in the past, and I'm not saying they're no longer friends, they're acquaintances, but yet I'm in a different space right now.
12:03
Cassandra: And there's some that perhaps get offended and don't get it.
12:07
Cassandra: And I'm like, well, well, I'm I'm sorry if you ask me what it is, I'll share it with you.
12:12
Cassandra: But right now, I'm I'm I'm in a whole new thing.
12:37
Cassandra: I am actually living my best life, and it's taken years.
12:41
Cassandra: Sounds like such like yours did.
12:43
Cassandra: Um, now tell me your your number one best selling book.
12:50
Cassandra: You're my favorite.
12:53
Cassandra: What what triggered?
12:56
Cassandra: I want to know the name.
12:57
Cassandra: Okay, what triggered you're my favorite?
13:02
Ginny: The the that's the story of the guy that was living in my house, which is the story that changed everything for me.
13:09
Cassandra: Okay, okay.
13:10
Cassandra: Now, when you say you are my favorite, who is you?
13:14
Ginny: You well, that's kind of what you find out in the book.
13:18
Ginny: Um, there's there's a few real pivotal moments of why very specific why I chose that title.
13:25
Ginny: Um it was really a way of reframing a phrase that I had coined and reframing it in a different way.
13:35
Cassandra: Okay, okay, great.
13:37
Cassandra: Because it is a best-selling book, and I liked how you you segued into that in order to find out, you have to read the book.
13:44
Cassandra: So, my audience, please, please get her book, her number one best-selling book.
13:49
Cassandra: However, she has a couple more that we'll talk about in a few minutes.
13:53
Cassandra: Now, I like you know, let me tell you, when I saw your your name of your podcast, it said podcast, it says drinking with gin.
14:04
Ginny: So I actually did a I did a whole rebrand uh last year.
14:08
Ginny: So that podcast has not existed for quite some time.
14:12
Ginny: Um, so my uh my my podcast is like I said, Unsubscribe with Ginny Pream, which is the also the name of my new book, Unsubscribe Why Letting Go is the Secret to Getting Ahead.
14:22
Cassandra: Okay, okay, good.
14:23
Cassandra: Yeah, um, because when I saw that, I was thinking of Jin, the drink.
14:29
Cassandra: And I said, Oh, it should be really interesting.
14:31
Cassandra: And then later on, as I was prepping, I'm like, Oh yeah, her name is Ginny.
14:36
Cassandra: Blah.
14:36
Cassandra: Drinking with Jin.
14:38
Cassandra: Well, I'm glad you shared that your podcast is unsubscribe.
14:44
Cassandra: Is it unsubscribe shift?
14:47
Ginny: No, it's unsubscribe with Ginny Pream.
14:50
Cassandra: Okay.
14:50
Cassandra: Now, what how let's trigger that name?
14:53
Cassandra: What does unsubscribe mean?
14:56
Ginny: So, unsubscribe is uh my intellectual property where I created an entire uh filter around, and like I said, the name of my book is Unsubscribe while letting go is the secret to getting ahead.
15:05
Ginny: I call it a filter to reclaim time, energy, and boundaries at work and in life.
15:11
Ginny: So the whole premise is about, you know, again, like I mentioned earlier, hustle culture.
15:17
Ginny: You know, there's, I think so many people think that the idea or the way to success is more, more, more.
15:23
Ginny: But I want to put that on its head.
15:26
Ginny: And really the whole idea is about, you know, everyone's busy, but are we actually being productive?
15:31
Ginny: People are too busy focusing on the wrong things, so that don't bring fulfillment that aren't in alignment with you.
15:38
Ginny: Uh, and so the whole idea is about doing less, but with intention, because what you don't is as important as what you do.
15:45
Ginny: Yeah.
15:47
Ginny: So there's four pillars that build that uh create it.
15:52
Cassandra: Is that the gin path?
15:55
Ginny: No, that's the so um gin path, again, that I haven't talked about that in years, but it's part of my guided journal, I'm my favorite, which is your guided journal, a guided journal for your path forward.
16:07
Ginny: So that was the book that kind of came after you're my favorite.
16:10
Ginny: Um, but right now all of my work is really around unsubscribe.
16:16
Cassandra: Okay, okay, okay.
16:18
Cassandra: Um, so the the title of this podcast is unsubscribe shift.
16:26
Ginny: No, unsubscribe with Ginny Priem.
16:30
Cassandra: Right.
16:30
Cassandra: Um, Ginny Priem's surprising approach to success.
16:34
Cassandra: That's the that's the information I received in regards to what you or your team thought would be a great title for this.
16:45
Ginny: I I misunderstood your uh your question, yes.
16:49
Cassandra: Okay, all right, okay.
16:50
Cassandra: All right.
16:52
Cassandra: Um tell us about um you you mentioned how adversity can help one become a better leader.
17:04
Cassandra: What why do you say that?
17:08
Ginny: Um, you know, I think adversity, you know, when we all face adversity, right?
17:12
Ginny: But it's all about in how you navigate it.
17:14
Ginny: We all always have choices.
17:16
Ginny: And so, like for me, I look at my own situation and and what I endured um with my relationship.
17:23
Ginny: I think it's easy to make a choice to become jaded or tougher or closed off or have a chip on your shoulder.
17:29
Ginny: Uh, but you also have a choice to use it to do good and and do better.
17:34
Ginny: And for me, it definitely softened me.
17:37
Ginny: Um, which it's not that I wasn't soft before, but I kind of had this tough exterior, like this tough kind of false sense of armor on.
17:46
Ginny: And that all went away.
17:48
Ginny: And like the real vulnerable, authentic me was exposed through that adversity.
17:53
Ginny: And I think that makes us more relatable.
17:56
Ginny: Um, I think that makes people feel more comfortable around us, um, you know, and so I think that can lead to being a better leader, too.
18:05
Cassandra: Yeah, yeah.
18:06
Cassandra: Yeah, because it, I mean, we all have choices.
18:08
Cassandra: We could be better or bitter about the things that have occurred, and I love it that you chose better.
18:15
Cassandra: Um, also, when I think of adversity, and I know there's nobody on this platform that's not running to adversity.
18:24
Cassandra: And if there are anybody listening that has not, just live on because you will.
18:29
Cassandra: That's a fact.
18:30
Cassandra: You definitely will.
18:32
Cassandra: Um, and I also think adversity and not only can humble you, but it also builds character.
18:39
Cassandra: And when I think about the things that you said and the things that you've been through, I could say, although we all have a story, my story is different, but I have a story.
18:49
Cassandra: And it's and I've had a lot of adversity in my life as well.
18:52
Cassandra: But one of the things I learned is that it has built my character, it has built my hope.
18:59
Cassandra: Um, I am a more, I would say, approachable, as you indicated.
19:05
Cassandra: Um, and I'm at a point in my life where I understand that we're all here for a reason.
19:12
Cassandra: And although you went through your thing, I go through mine, people listening, but I turn that into something that would benefit others because when much is given, much is required.
19:24
Cassandra: So I know now that as you indicated, you're just in a better place, which is a great thing.
19:31
Cassandra: Um, and I've and I I said that as one of my chapters in my book, uh, dear women who are in a good place.
19:37
Cassandra: So there are opportunities that you can become and get in a good place.
19:41
Cassandra: Um uh you talked about now your gym path is something you had, but do you still do that program?
19:54
Ginny: Yeah, absolutely.
19:55
Ginny: It's the foundation of my guided journal, uh, which is really basically the steps that I took to get through that difficult time in my life.
20:03
Ginny: And I like to say it's a guide.
20:05
Ginny: I like to be less prescriptive and more guided, which kind of aligns with what you said about like we all have a story, and when we open up and share what we've been through, it helps other people feel less alone, no matter how similar or how different their story of adversity is.
20:27
Cassandra: Would you be able to share maybe a couple of bullet points about the guide?
20:32
Cassandra: Like what's in it that yeah, that the path that um what I say that test the path you developed, tested, and implemented to help others grow.
20:44
Ginny: Yeah, so it's the GIN stands for gather uh intentions and nurture.
20:50
Ginny: So those are the three kind of pillars of foundation.
20:52
Ginny: But inside the the journal, it's 13 full months of exercises, uh beautiful illustrations.
20:59
Ginny: My illustrator is so talented.
21:01
Ginny: Um, and uh there's also like inspirational quotes.
21:05
Ginny: I touch on a little bit of my story.
21:07
Ginny: Uh, it's just a beautiful support to kind of help people through difficult uh experiences.
21:16
Cassandra: Would you be able to explain anyone that you worked with and how um they had an aha moment as a result of the program or or you know, particularly when people transition and you were able to get them to, I would say, see the light.
21:35
Cassandra: It can also make us feel good when we see an individual transform.
21:40
Cassandra: Is there any particular person, no names or anything that you could describe who went through this program and when they did, what was the outcome, the result that they had?
21:52
Ginny: I mean, I can't think of just a specific person, but I do focus a lot on narcissistic abuse recovery.
21:57
Ginny: And that's, you know, because that is similar to my own, I feel like that's just a lot of a lot of the type of clientele that I've attracted through that.
22:05
Ginny: Um, but also like when I speak on stages, those I love the stories and people just coming up to me in tears afterwards, going, oh my gosh, thank you for sharing what you went through.
22:15
Ginny: This is what I'm going through or what I went through.
22:18
Ginny: And so it's just that human connection that we have through being a little bit more vulnerable so that people again feel less alone, sharing their stories.
22:26
Ginny: We see these breakthroughs, people making life changing decisions to, like you said, find uh that happiness for themselves.
22:34
Ginny: Be in a good place.
22:37
Cassandra: Right, exactly.
22:39
Cassandra: Um you talked about how, and you've had you've had several keynotes.
22:44
Cassandra: Is that correct?
22:45
Cassandra: the primary work that I do, yes.
22:48
Cassandra: Yeah, like the TEDx talks and and are you getting ready to be on another one soon?
22:54
Ginny: I speak pretty much every week.
22:55
Ginny: Not another TEDx, but I mean I speak all the time.
22:59
Ginny: That's the I guess that's my work.
23:01
Cassandra: Okay.
23:01
Cassandra: Okay.
23:02
Cassandra: Um can you tell us um what I've read is that your keynotes leave people inspired.
23:13
Cassandra: All right right to take the next step to their own path.
23:22
Cassandra: What is it that you could share with my audience that will support or inspire them that will enable them to take the next step or take a different path.
23:37
Ginny: What can you so it's really all about my unsubscribe filter uh that I've developed so there's four pillars that build this and or that are the foundation of unsubscribe.
23:48
Ginny: So there's manage, swap, mute, and block.
23:51
Ginny: And manage is for the things that are urgent that are important that we have to deal with whether it's people, tasks, things that we can't just remove and unsubscribe is not about flippantly walking away from things or just burning it all down.
24:06
Ginny: It's really an actionable filter with like I said steps and four different pillars that are designed to help support people high achievers, high performers so that they can perform better, lead better and live better.
24:20
Ginny: So manage is for those things.
24:22
Ginny: So like I like to use the example of relationships.
24:26
Ginny: Maybe you do have a difficult relationship that you're um struggling with right now or that's just you know a little bit more of a challenge than usual.
24:33
Ginny: So you can manage, you can't change how they behave, but you can manage how you interact, whether it's the duration of time you spend with them, the frequency or the type of communication or interaction you have.
24:45
Ginny: And then there's swap, which is we can exchange things that are outdated or systems or beliefs or ways that we used to operate that no longer work for us.
24:56
Ginny: So an example I like to use for swap for me is I during the pandemic, I stopped watching the news in the morning because it was just too Debbie Downer for me and I started reading.
25:08
Ginny: So I did a swap of reading books you know for the news.
25:12
Ginny: I also did a a very impactful swap for myself of I swap things for experiences now because that is much more meaningful for me versus buying a new pair of shoes or a new purse.
25:26
Ginny: Like I would way rather go on a trip and see and experience a new um place, a new culture.
25:31
Ginny: It's just way more fulfilling.
25:33
Ginny: And then there's mute things that we need to take a break from great easy example is, you know, maybe you don't need a Monday morning meeting every Monday at 7 a.m maybe we mute that you know take a break from it one week a month or dry January is a great example of mute taking a break from something where people you know take a break from alcohol for you know the month of January.
25:56
Ginny: And then block is for where things go to die.
25:59
Ginny: Block is where we are completely removing or eliminating things that no longer work for us in our lives at work.
26:07
Ginny: For me I've had to block some relationships you know that were just really unhealthy.
26:14
Ginny: I recognized my own patterns and behaviors that I was choosing some of the wrong people.
26:20
Ginny: And so the block is for things that we need to or want to completely eliminate and remove.
26:27
Ginny: So that's kind of the foundation of where people go, oh my gosh, this this filter gives me the framework to make better faster decisions so that I am more aligned with myself gives them a clear common language to use at work with their friends at home with their family so we're all kind of speaking the same language.
26:46
Ginny: Okay now was that an acronym you just called like the manage the swap that's easier to remember okay so would you repeat that again these are the four pillows right yep there's four pillars manage swap mute and block okay okay great excellent uh jenny where do you what's next for you have you thought about that or you you just status quo or what's next I am very happy and content with the work I'm doing right now it's extremely meaningful um unsubscribed the book just came out uh less than a month ago so it is it is still in that infancy stage um you know I'm continuing to speak on more and bigger stages doing a lot of TV and media right now so I think just this momentum continuing to carry forward is exactly where I'm supposed to be okay that's great that's great that's great um I'm curious five years from now you've been coaching for was it well you well you had 20 years in corporate leadership and emotional intelligence right um so where did that emotional intelligence come from in corporate or that's part of what you currently do?
28:19
Cassandra: Okay all right all right okay all right so all right so so you're gonna continue to do what you're doing and I think that's great because you're in a good place and you like what you're doing.
28:33
Cassandra: So I'm not gonna ask you I was going to ask you where you see yourself in five years but let's just stick with what you're doing right now and and and continue to do it well.
28:43
Ginny: And I'm happy to answer that.
28:44
Ginny: I think what's interesting is if you'd have told me that I'd be here five years ago, I wouldn't have believed it right because I had a completely different change.
28:53
Ginny: So I would be very proud to still be doing this same work in five years.
28:58
Ginny: I think it will still continue to evolve as we all continue to evolve people that are you know here your audience the people that are rolling up their sleeves and doing the work and investing in themselves.
29:09
Ginny: So I commit to doing the same for myself too.
29:12
Cassandra: Oh great great okay so remember when you said uh you started young you went to school like in your 20 or you got out of school in your 20s or something like that you said um looking back what would you tell yourself oh my gosh that's a great question look at that age um you know there's there's more to life that's what I would say there's more to life um could you elaborate a little bit on that because if there's the listeners listening and and yeah there's a lot more to life yeah help them understand that there's more to life than you know being you the the grind and the hustle um you know I think that's again just outdated beliefs and and systems that maybe were um you know generations before where it's like you go you get to work the earliest you work the hardest you get really good grades you know then you get the promotion then you get the raise and then rinse and repeat right and to me that's where I that's what I mean like there's more to life you you know you have to find enjoyment in other things as well yeah right well said well said uh because I I can remember and I'm not proud of it but I've worked more than I don't think I've ever worked 40 hours a week you know I think it was always 50 55 week ass you know just just craziness because that was the culture based on where I was so this was their expectations and I tried very hard to follow them and then and then you have an then you start burning out because that's not really who you are and you can be just as effective um and even more when you take care of yourself.
31:08
Cassandra: Yeah period period yeah so Jenny I just want to thank you uh for your time um I I am enamored particularly because I've talked to many women that are in situations that have been difficult to get out of for certain reasons um but you are a great example to say you know what hey there's more for me you know there's there's definitely like you said more to life than what I'm experiencing and I think too you're a testament and I could say you are the epitome of someone who's living their best life on their terms.
31:54
