- 0:04Good morning, family, Good morning, God, bless you. Welcome back
- 0:06to the morning devote you. Bro Sam Lopez aka DJ Sandbrox so Win is
- 0:10with a Z the RG the Celebrator Network, the Lehigh Valley's number one urban
- 0:15gospel music station online since two thousand and eight. Believe it a man that
- 0:21was still here, all glory to God. Man, I can take no
- 0:24credit other than being available, being willing to take the risk and take the
- 0:31chance, and take the opportunity. Amen, and be a blessing to some
- 0:37people, Amen, and to others just be an annoyance. But however you
- 0:42take it. Man, We've been here since two thousand and eight, and
- 0:45God called me out to do what I'm doing right now. Amen. And
- 0:48I'm so glad and grateful that he gave me the responsibility of doing these morning
- 0:54devotions, Amen, and running this radio network and this online media ministry.
- 0:59So today gonna talk about a prayer journal, something that maybe you already have
- 1:03been doing. I didn't know I was doing some kind of a journal way
- 1:07back before I was saved. Until after I got saved. I was like,
- 1:11what am I doing? Because when I came out here in from New
- 1:15York and I moved to Pennsylvania in the nineties. When my son was only
- 1:19two years old, I realized that I wrote a journal, write a book.
- 1:26I gave it to him a couple of years ago of every single thing
- 1:30that I did from the time I moved to New York all the way for
- 1:36like maybe I want to say, close to close to eight years later or
- 1:46and worked for word my thoughts the process. I was going through everything.
- 1:49I wrote it all down and that was just about my life. And I
- 1:53realized when I got born again, when I got saved, I realized what
- 1:56I was writing. I was writing a journal, Amen, a prayer journal,
- 2:00a life journal. But then when I got into Christ, Christ got
- 2:04into my life. Amen. I started writing out prayers Amen. And seeing
- 2:08those prayers come to pass is encouraging, Like it really lights up my life.
- 2:14I like, Man, I remember I prayed this like ten years ago,
- 2:16and look what happened. I remember I prayed for this situation, and
- 2:21look what happened. I remember I prayed for that person, this person,
- 2:23that person, that family, and look what happened. Amen. I remember
- 2:28one time I went to an abandoned lot, a lot where they were building
- 2:31homes, and God inspired me encouraged me to pray for the ground for that
- 2:38lot for a certain family, and I was like, Okay, which lot
- 2:40is it. There was a lot to the left, it was a lot
- 2:43to the right, and literally I heard the Lord say, prayed to the
- 2:46lot on the right, lay your hands on that ground where they're going to
- 2:50build this home for this family. And I trusted God. I know,
- 2:53people probably thought I was crazy. It got to my knees touched the ground
- 2:57I was praying, and then that lot of that land that I prayed for
- 3:01became a house for a family that I'm still in connection with to this every
- 3:07day. And I was way back years ago, maybe two thousand and four
- 3:14or five six around there. Amen, And and it's still there. The
- 3:19house is still there, and the family still there. So write it down.
- 3:22And I wrote that down. I remember it because I wrote it down.
- 3:24Write it down, Write your prayer request down, write your prayers down,
- 3:29write your thoughts down. Write it all down, and then look at
- 3:32it years later and see if there hasn't has been a touch of God to
- 3:37move a God over those prayer journals and over those situations that you're writing.
- 3:42Amen, I'm gonna be using this as an example, because I couldn't find
- 3:46my latest prayer journal, Amen, that I haven't written it in a long
- 3:50time, to be honest, But I have one. I have several ones
- 3:53somewhere in my basement, but I can't find one now. But this is
- 3:59an exact ample, Amen, A marked out Bible with thoughts circles, amen,
- 4:04and little comments to myself to let me know what God is doing in
- 4:09my life at the moment. And you could journal that, write it down,
- 4:13make it plain, and the Bible speaks on that. We're going to
- 4:15talk about that today on the Morning Devo. Amen. And I know it's
- 4:18going to help you out because it helps me to stay on points, stay
- 4:21focused on what really matters, what's really important about your life and my life
- 4:28in Christ in God. So have you ever used a prayer journal? Do
- 4:32you feel that writing your prayers down is beneficial? Think about it? Is
- 4:38it beneficial? If it's not, you know, like I think that's a
- 4:41waste of time. Amen. You know that's I respect you know your opinion.
- 4:46I respect your thoughts on it, Amen. And because there's an opportunity
- 4:50here to check it out for yourself. I always suggest people just to do
- 4:57something that you normally would not do and trust God. Let's do the ordinary
- 5:01and trust God for the extra ordinary. Let let's do the ordinary and touch
- 5:05trust God for the supernatural. Let's do the natural and trust God for the
- 5:10supernatural. We're gonna be a Psalms chapter one hundred and forty one forty one
- 5:15versus one and two today in the morning Devo. If you have any questions,
- 5:17comments, concerns, or any prayer requests, don't hesitate to leave it
- 5:20on a live chat. That's what we're here for, amen, So don't
- 5:24be afraid. Amen, there's not gonna be any arguing, debating or none
- 5:28of that on the side of town over here. So one is with a
- 5:30z dot org and on the morning devo, so let's pray. After we
- 5:34pray, we'll share this out for like sixty seconds. Amen, help me
- 5:38share this out break the algorithm go to live that. So one is with
- 5:41a z dot org share that link. Share So win is with a LG
- 5:45share that link. Amen. Let me just really quickly share this to my
- 5:49group page because they change some things moving forward, so you got to share
- 5:56it manually now to the groups. So let's pray far that. Thank you
- 6:00Lord God, that You have given us an opportunity today, right now,
- 6:03right here, to start something that maybe we have never tried before, which
- 6:09is a prayer journal. Writing our prayer requests down, writing our prayers down,
- 6:12writing our thoughts, writing what's going on in our lives right now currently,
- 6:16and writing it down and praying over it as a journal, and watching
- 6:20your hand move and watching the power of your love, your grace, and
- 6:25your mercy move upon the prayer request, move upon the prayers, move upon
- 6:30the people, move upon our own lives. I pray, Holy Spirit,
- 6:32that you would continue to fill us with overflow, fill us with love,
- 6:36grace, mercy, fill us with hope, fill us with faith a greater
- 6:40measure of it daily, Lo God, and I pray, look, God,
- 6:43for every single one of the people, every single person right now that's
- 6:46listening or watching, that you would filled them with your spirit, that they
- 6:49would know there is hope in you, there is loving you, there's forgiveness
- 6:53in you, and there is salvation in you, and they can find peace
- 6:58in you in Christ, Oh God, that you will help us write it
- 7:01out and write it, make it plain, even if we have to record
- 7:04it on our phones, even if we have to write it down from our
- 7:08phones and the notes or how would we do it? Look God, that
- 7:11when we see this a year from now, when we see what we wrote
- 7:14down months from now, week from now, a year from now, ten
- 7:16years from now, and if we're in you, we will see a move
- 7:19of God. Things will not be the same things that we wrote down that
- 7:25when we were in trouble, when we were in tourmoril, when we were
- 7:28depressed, when we were struggling with temptation, or whatever the case may be.
- 7:32Years from now, weeks from now, days from now, it will
- 7:34not be the same because you will be able to touch those prayer requests and
- 7:40move in our hearts and move in our minds. I believe it. I
- 7:43receive it. I hope everyone on the other side of this mic and on
- 7:46the other side of the screen believes in it, receives it in the power
- 7:49powerful name of the Lord Jesus. I prayed this by faith, Amen and
- 7:53Amen. So let's go for it, Ladies and gentlemen, help me share
- 7:56this out. When we come back after sixty seconds, we'll get right into
- 8:00psngs one forty one, Verses one and two. I would write back,
- 9:26Amen, we're back or back let's go for let's see what the Word of
- 9:30God has for us today. Amen. I'm calling this my prayer journal.
- 9:33And man, you could just get a little padded like this even, Amen,
- 9:39and take out pen something to write with and write some things down.
- 9:43Man. Amen, I wrote in this one notes of eternal Life. You
- 9:48see, I'm not I'm not making it up, Notes of eternal Life.
- 9:52And then I just put my name and I dated it. Amen. And
- 9:54then let's have some you some notes that I took, Amen. And it
- 9:58could be verse, it could be a desire, it could be a prayer
- 10:03request, Amen, it could be something for someone else. Most of the
- 10:07things that I wrote down in my journals thus far have been really for other
- 10:11people. Prayers for myself of course, and my family of course, but
- 10:16it's not always me. And the sense of this prayer and the sense of
- 10:20that prayer journal is actually for other people, Amen, Because I believe in
- 10:24the power of prayer, and I believe that it's a humbling experience to actually
- 10:28take somebody's burden and take somebody's situation and take it to the Lord and prayer.
- 10:35I think that's humbling is not only gonna benefit me. When I see
- 10:39somebody blessed. Right, it's gonna benefit the people that we're praying for,
- 10:41obviously, So we're gonna be in Psalms one forty one versus one and two.
- 10:46Let me get this ready watching for those who are just come to the
- 10:48podcast. Welcome back to the live radio show, Amen, and welcome back
- 10:54to your listen to the listening ears. Amen. But you won't see obviously
- 10:58what we're gonna see on screen, but you're gonna hear word for word what
- 11:01we're actually reading, what we're actually talking about. Good morning, Sister Joyce,
- 11:05I see you. Good morning, God bless you. Praise the Lord.
- 11:07Yes, I'm trying to and I will praise the Lord daily as my
- 11:13daily opportunity to give God my praise. So thank you so much for coming
- 11:18through and your blessing to this ministry. God bless you. So let me
- 11:22put this on the screen. All right, there we go, Amen,
- 11:26here we go. Prayer journal on the morning Devo today. Amen, just
- 11:35write it down, make it plain right. Songs one for one versus wanted
- 11:39two. Lord, I call upon you, hurry to me. This is
- 11:43a desperation. Amen, hurry to me. Listen to my voice when I
- 11:48call to you let my prayer be counted as incense before you, the lifting
- 11:54up of my hands as the evening offering. Amen. And we got some
- 12:00reference versus to this in the New Covenant, in the New Testament for Simothy
- 12:05to eight Revelation A three, Amen and four. So Lord, I call
- 12:09upon you, hurry to me. Listen to my voice when I call to
- 12:13you. Amen, write it down, write your prayer, write your cry
- 12:18down, and write it all down a man. Don't be shy. God.
- 12:22Is that good? Amen? To listen and answer and respond to your
- 12:26requests. Amen. So let's let's try to hit up some of these reference
- 12:31scriptures here. I'm gonna try to go real quickly. I'm gonna go old
- 12:35school. I'm gonna just use a little bible and go to First Timothy chapter
- 12:39two, verse number eight. You can help me out if you get there
- 12:41first. Amen. Just put it up on the chat. First Timothy,
- 12:46chapter number two versus verse number eight. Amen. I'm trying to move these
- 12:52papers around quickly. They're getting stuck here. But hey man, we're gonna
- 12:58get to it. You get them papers. I love this sound of that.
- 13:01Amen. Chapter two. And let's see. Let me get off of
- 13:05here, Amen, and see wrong. One's see what's going on. So
- 13:11two verse number eight, Verse Timothy two and eight, the Bible says,
- 13:20I desired therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands without wrath
- 13:26and doubting. Wrath and doubting. Wow, I never seen those two words
- 13:31together too very often. A man without wrath and doubting, lift holy hands,
- 13:37man, pray, ask God to do what only he can do.
- 13:41That. You know, if we could have done it, we would have
- 13:43done it already, a man starting with us. Oh, God, change
- 13:48my heart, change my life. That's a great prayer. Because if I
- 13:50could have changed my heart and changed my life, and changed my mind,
- 13:52and changed my attitude and redeemed myself and saved myself, I would have.
- 13:58But since I realized in my life that I couldn't do it, I lifted
- 14:01up my hands. Amen they were holy? Then, well they're holy now
- 14:05because God calls us holy because He's holy. And Paul was telling young Timothy,
- 14:11I desired therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands with
- 14:16our wrath and doubting. When you have anger, all that stuff, and
- 14:22malice and hatred in your heart, amen, you're not really connecting with the
- 14:26living, holy, righteous God, he might not respond when we're at that
- 14:30situation where at that point in our hearts and minds that we have wrath and
- 14:33anger and all that, and we're praying. That's not really lifting holy hands.
- 14:37That's lifting the hands of flesh and asking a loving God to do an
- 14:41unloving thing to somebody else. Because usually if you're praying while you have wrath
- 14:48in your heart, Amen, I think that's impossible, number one. But
- 14:52if you are praying and trying hard to bring someone harm through a prayer to
- 14:58God with something there that's off. Amen. But with holy hands, lifting
- 15:03up holy hands, without the wrath and without doubting. Amen. Trust God.
- 15:09And when you do that and you're not doubting, Amen, write it
- 15:11down because those are opportunities that you have and that I have to know that
- 15:16I pray without doubting. I was telling a friend of mine, a brother
- 15:20in Christ, Amen, that I want the faith that I see children pray
- 15:24with. I mean young children. When you ask them to pray for something,
- 15:26they'll pray for it. They'll believe it like it's going to happen,
- 15:30because it is going to happen, Amen. And then they go back playing
- 15:33with their toys. I want that type of childlike faith, although I don't
- 15:37want a child like mine. Amen, Like I don't want a childish mind.
- 15:41I want a childlike faith. What about you? And I'll write it
- 15:43down. If I'm in a space where I need to just trust God,
- 15:48Amen, which is every day, by the way, I want the faith
- 15:52of a child a man. Just no doubt, no wrath, just pray
- 15:56and believe. And I believe those are powerful prayers. And write it down.
- 16:00Put in your journal. Revelation chapter eight, verses three and four.
- 16:03Revelation eight three and four, the Bible says, then another angel, having
- 16:08a golden censor, came and stood at the altar. He was given much
- 16:14incense that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints, of
- 16:19all the saints upon the golden altar, which was before the throne, and
- 16:26the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints ascended before God
- 16:30from the angel's hand. Amen. So these lifting an incense and lifting up
- 16:37the hands. Amen. It's all through the scriptures, so biblical. So
- 16:41God he's speaking, He's letting us know. So write something down in your
- 16:47prayer journal today. If you can get a book, get a piece of
- 16:49paper, a man going to your notepad on your phone and write something down,
- 16:55a man that's pressing on your heart. It could be a praise report.
- 16:57Amen, God, did this beautify think of my life? Write it
- 17:00down, Amen, because you're gonna have to go back to that when times
- 17:03of trouble comes, right, it's for encouragement. You're gonna have to go
- 17:07back to those signs when God did a thing and that you needed him to
- 17:11do, and it was because of him. Amen. That you pass a
- 17:15certain situation in your life that you're getting through. You're not just getting by,
- 17:18but you're going through life knowing that you could go to a living,
- 17:22holy, righteous Father in Heaven who loves you so much that he responds.
- 17:26Sometimes I ask God in some situations, just to look my way, Amen,
- 17:30just look my way, because I know just to look from the Lord
- 17:33Amen will be enough. Amen. Just to for a glimpse that God will
- 17:41just look our way. That will be mourning enough. Because God is that
- 17:45powerful God, is that holy God, is that loving God? Is that
- 17:48righteous God? Is that pure God? Is that holy? Amen? He's
- 17:52an amazing God. So when we put it down in a prayer, journal,
- 17:57write it down. Amen. Expect God to do the miraculous. Expect
- 18:02God to do the impossible. Amen, because if we could do it,
- 18:04we wouldn't need God. If we could do a thing, Amen, you
- 18:08can pray about it, but just do it. If you know you can
- 18:11do it. But if you know you can't. We're talking to a God
- 18:12who takes care of the impossibilities and makes it all possible. Amen. With
- 18:18God, all things are possible. Sister Joayne, good morning, God bless
- 18:21you. So sorry. I'm so tired. I overslept. I almost overslept
- 18:25too, sister, so I know the feeling. But God bless you.
- 18:26It's good to see you here and now. Amen. Amen. So sometimes
- 18:30when I sit down and pray, Oh sorry, sometimes I sit down and
- 18:36pray, my mind is not quiet enough Amen. And I'm still distracted.
- 18:41For whatever reason. I'm starting to notice as I get older, I get
- 18:44distract it quicker than I used to. A thousand thoughts swirling around my head
- 18:51on to do list, what I gotta do tomorrow, what I gotta do
- 18:52today, starts echoing in my Headtimes I'll look at the clock or look at
- 18:59the time I'm on my phone, be like, Man, I gotta go
- 19:02all these things, all these distractions. So if I ever remember anything else,
- 19:07is that imber. I have to remember this. If I ever remember
- 19:11anything, I need to stop looking at the time when I'm in prayer.
- 19:15I need to write down my prayers. I need to have a quiet time.
- 19:19Amen. I'm not going to say have more alone time with God.
- 19:23I believe we have alone time every single day. Let me explain, Holy
- 19:26Spirit, God living inside of me. Amen is alone time because every single
- 19:32moment of my life and my breathing life. Amen, he's with me.
- 19:36So I could call upon the Lord Amen, at any single time and have
- 19:38that alone time with him. We're all talking about prayer and writing down your
- 19:42prayer and journaling your life with the Lord. It's gonna come out to a
- 19:48movie. It's gonna be a book because you're gonna start writing some things down
- 19:52now and you get to quiet your spirit. Amen, And He's going to
- 19:55speak to our soul through what we wrote down and met If you can write,
- 20:00if you're not a good at writing, Amen, and reading, you
- 20:03could speak into your phone and man, you could speak into a device that
- 20:07will record your own voice literally, and when you have situations of life.
- 20:11Record it down, record it, and men save it in the recording,
- 20:15and then go back to it a week, a day, a month,
- 20:18a year. You're gonna need those encouraging moments in your life, because one
- 20:23day you're got to be discouraged, and then you need the encouragement of knowing
- 20:27that. Man, I remember, I wrote this down, or I spoke
- 20:30this on my phone, or I recorded this with my own voice. And
- 20:33look what happened. Look what God did. Look with God showed up,
- 20:37How he showed up. Amen. So you open up your maybe your phone,
- 20:45maybe open up a book, or take your Bible. I know a
- 20:47lot of people don't like to do this. I'm a bible man. I
- 20:48have all kinds of Bibles, Amen, And I just marked down my thoughts
- 20:53and the scriptures in the Bible right across or right near where I'm reading to
- 21:00the reference. Amen. If you look at my bibles, if you know
- 21:03me, Amen, just ask me. Sam, let me see one of
- 21:04your Bibles. You're gonna see it all marked up, you know. And
- 21:08I don't care how nice the Bible is, but you gonna see all marked
- 21:11up. You might even see tear marks on the pages because I write it
- 21:15down, and I make it plain. You should do the same thing.
- 21:18Man. It's powerful because when you go back to it, you'd be like,
- 21:22I remember that day, I remember the season I was in. I
- 21:23remember the time that I was facing these trials and difficulties. I remember when
- 21:29I used to do this, and I no longer do that no more.
- 21:30I remember I used to hang out with those people that were doing me dirty
- 21:33and wrong, and causing and triggering me to do dirty and wrong. I
- 21:37no no longer hang out with them. And some of them got saved,
- 21:40some of them are blessed by God. And saw mine a man, You
- 21:42wrote it down, and you're looking at it. You're looking at the past
- 21:47you Amen, that used to be doubting or maybe wrathful or angry, and
- 21:52now you're looking at the new you that God has been developing in your heart
- 21:56and in your life. One thing that's that's helpful, it's running your prayers
- 22:03down, even though you might not be able to do it every day.
- 22:07I suggest you start today and it will cause you to do it tomorrow.
- 22:11And then, Man, when you see a praise, a prayer request that
- 22:14you made that came to pass, you want to keep on writing this down.
- 22:18It's going to get to a place where, like, Man, I
- 22:19want to keep writing these things down because look, this one got answered,
- 22:22Amen, And I could show people, I could testify, I could praise
- 22:26God about it. I could show maybe a family that you know that look
- 22:30I pray this on this date because you could time and date it and look
- 22:34what God did, and they will give glory to your God, to my
- 22:38God. Amen. If they don't believe, they're gonna know that there's somebody
- 22:41praying. Right. The focus is not really what you're saying to God or
- 22:48what you're asking God. Amen. But the focus is that you take your
- 22:52collection of prayers to God. Amen. Like the Psalma said, I'm gonna
- 22:56lift up my hands, hear my voice, listen to me, Please God,
- 23:00you know, and ask God to listen to hear your prayer requests.
- 23:03When you write it down, Amen, is written in the life. In
- 23:07your life journal is written down, Amen, and you know where you were
- 23:11at that point, even if you have to remember what it was. You
- 23:15have it written down on a piece of paper or you have a recorded on
- 23:18a device. Amen. The verse that we read Amen was written by David
- 23:25Right. He wrote seventy three out of the one hundred and fifty of the
- 23:29songs, the prayers, the poems and hymns collected in the Book of Songs,
- 23:33that's a lot, right, And this song David called out to God
- 23:36asking him to hear his prayer and accept it as an offering. So how
- 23:41much more powerful do you think it is when you write down your requests and
- 23:44ask God to accept what you wrote down as an offering because He knows that
- 23:48you're attaching your belief. You're attaching your faith, you're writing it down,
- 23:52You're making it plain so that we could testify and say, man, I'm
- 23:56not thinking this thing up. I'm not making this thing up. Look I
- 24:00wrote it down, and look what God did. It's powerful. Love this
- 24:03amen, write the vision, make it clear in your heart and mind,
- 24:07and spare yes so that way you could go back to it and see what
- 24:11the loving, holy, righteous Father that we have in Heaven could do in
- 24:15your life. And you wrote it down, we have evidence, you have
- 24:18proof. So what I love about David and the other Psalmists is that they
- 24:22poured out their hearts to God on the page in front of them, because
- 24:26remember it's the written word. Some of these prayers express gratitude and praise someone
- 24:32laments that express deep pain and grief. Right. Many of the psalms the
- 24:37author is scared confused, while others the salmons is confident that the Lord will
- 24:41prevail. Right. So we see, like in Psalm twenty two, David
- 24:45alternates back and forth between crying out to God in deep anguish to praising God
- 24:52and expressing his faith and trust in him. Right. So we have King
- 24:56David expressing himself and then writing it down. We're reading it now, Amen,
- 25:00But he wrote it down, and he looked. He probably looked at
- 25:03it, Amen, years later and now he's in eternity and say, I'm
- 25:08glad I wrote it down. I'm glad I made it plain. I'm glad
- 25:11I called out to a living God, a guy who responded Amen to what
- 25:15I wrote, to what I said, to what I spoke, to what
- 25:18I recorded. I hope this is encouraging to you. Amen. Take Songs
- 25:22one forty one today, Amen, I challenge you to read the whole song
- 25:26for yourself. And if you want to go back to the reference scriptures,
- 25:29you can read those chapters as well. God's going to make a move,
- 25:32do a move, be present, and He's going to prevail on every situation
- 25:36you might be facing and that I might be facing. Together, let's pray
- 25:38for one another. Continue to pray for me and my family, and I'll
- 25:41continue to pray for you and your family, and I'll write it down a
- 25:45little bit more often. Amen said that way I could see the goodness of
- 25:48God in real time. So I'm out of here, I'm out of time.
- 25:51Thank you so much for hanging out with me for these morning DeVos.
- 25:53Amen. God bless you all, God keep you all, and remember always
- 25:57that God is that peace.
