- 0:01Hey, hey, hey, and welcome, Welcome to Terry Messenger's
- 0:06Genius Zone. And this is the place and space
- 0:11where you are going to have incredible value from a expert
- 0:19that is going to help you to really understand the depth of
- 0:27who you are at your core. This lady that I'm about to
- 0:32bring on board, she is an executive and personal coach,
- 0:36trained in positive intelligence, Co active coaching
- 0:41and the artist's way. And she really is a natural born
- 0:46artist. She's also done firework career
- 0:50coaching. So this is going to be
- 0:53incredible for men and women who feel that deep inner knowing
- 0:59that something just isn't quite right in your career and it's
- 1:04time for you to go to the next level.
- 1:08So no, with no further ado, let's bring on the gorgeous, the
- 1:13incredible Hazel Martin. Hello Hazel, how are you?
- 1:17Oh, hello, Terry. I'm, I'm very well.
- 1:19Thank you. Great to be here.
- 1:21Thank you for inviting me. It's a pleasure.
- 1:24And whereabouts are you? So I'm based in southwest London
- 1:29and it's sunny today. Hurry.
- 1:32Well, it's the opposite to Perth, Australia because we had
- 1:37torrential rains here when I was travelling home and it's been
- 1:43really cold. So I think I'll just give that
- 1:47back to London or the UK and take back the summer weather
- 1:51because I love, I love the summer.
- 1:54Now this is going to be a really, really valuable teaching
- 2:01that we go through together and I want to really encourage
- 2:04people to stay to the end because Hazel's going to bless
- 2:08us with a self command muscle, not a meditation, but isn't it?
- 2:15Would you call it a visualisation?
- 2:20It's helping people just to get present to the here and now.
- 2:25So I don't know, maybe we should do it now because it's to help
- 2:30people to get present to the here and now.
- 2:33Well, it's here and now. If you would like to do that, I
- 2:38am going to absolutely give you the stage to do it.
- 2:43So I'm ready if you are. OK, cool.
- 2:48So it's one of the one of the tools in my toolbox that I use
- 2:51to help people to get truly present to the here and now.
- 2:55And it really helps to calm the nervous system dying.
- 2:59So it's especially relevant from we jump from one thing to the
- 3:04next and we've maybe been juggling things and maybe we've
- 3:10got a bit triggered or hijacked by someone.
- 3:13So I would invite you all to soften your gaze or if you're
- 3:19happy, to close your eyes and I'd like you to focus on your,
- 3:26your breathing. And there's no judgement, you're
- 3:31just 100% curious to your breathing, the gentle rising and
- 3:39falling of your chest and stomach.
- 3:43And if it helps you place one hand on your heart and one hand
- 3:47on your guts. So as you're softening your gaze
- 3:51with your eyes closed, just notice the gentle rising and
- 3:59falling of your chest and stomach.
- 4:05And now bring your attention to a sign, the furthest away sign
- 4:12that you can hear. And then bring your attention to
- 4:18the nearest sign you can hear. And if you can't hear your
- 4:24breathing, bring attention to your breathing.
- 4:32And then bring your attention back to your fingers.
- 4:37So I'd like you to ask you to rub your thumb together with
- 4:42your index finger and notice any ridges that you can feel in your
- 4:52fingertips. Again, there's no judgement.
- 4:55You're being super curious and noticing, simply noticing.
- 5:03And then bring your attention to the temperature in your fingers
- 5:06as you're doing that. And then bring your attention
- 5:16back to the here and now. And I ask you to open your eyes,
- 5:22if you haven't done already, and lift your eyes and be here.
- 5:27Focus on what we're about to see today.
- 5:30Thank you. What an incredible introduction.
- 5:34And I believe that maybe I ought to bring the end to the
- 5:38beginning every time because that just really sets the mood
- 5:45and you know, I, I just love that.
- 5:48So thank you so, so much from that and for that beautiful,
- 5:53beautiful meditation. I love the way that you also
- 5:58created us to anchor our fingertips with the thumb and
- 6:04really get into that sensory. You know what, what do you
- 6:09believe is behind that? You know, like to to ask people
- 6:14to do it is one thing, but I mean, maybe someone out there
- 6:19that is very stressed out that just needs to really come back
- 6:23into their presence, they can understand that this is going to
- 6:27be something very powerful. Can you explain why it's so
- 6:31powerful? Yeah, absolutely.
- 6:34Thank you for asking the question.
- 6:36Here's the thing, I know because I've lived it myself, that
- 6:40there's certain people, there's certain situations, there's
- 6:44certain events that you get triggered or hijacked, whatever
- 6:48you want to call it. But you notice that something's
- 6:52shifted and you're not being quite your full self.
- 6:58You're maybe not focused or concentrating, but something's
- 7:01happened in that moment and maybe train of thought goes off.
- 7:08How can they say that thing or what just happened there?
- 7:10Whatever it is, I'm not good enough.
- 7:12I can't speak up, but something's just happened which
- 7:16has triggered you, throwing you off course.
- 7:19The simple exercise I just demonstrated is actually
- 7:23bringing your attention back to the here and I so that your
- 7:28brain can't go off in that whole tangent of thoughts and
- 7:34disappearing thoughts, especially because when we're
- 7:37triggered, hijacked, that's exactly what's happening.
- 7:40Our our train of thinking is going off in a negative
- 7:44disempowering pathway. And by bringing attention back
- 7:48to the here now we're stopping that because our brain can only
- 7:52focus on this thing which is using one of our scents.
- 7:56And the brilliance is you can use it in any meeting situation.
- 7:59No one has to see it. The rubbing the fingers under
- 8:04the deck. Sometimes I ask people to look
- 8:07into my eyes, so you could actually look into the other
- 8:10person's eyes and notice the colour of their eyes, how long
- 8:14their eyelashes are, whatever helps you get back to the ear
- 8:19and night because that's all we have.
- 8:23That is so true. I love that.
- 8:27And in this world that we're living in, I know that I'll
- 8:32catch myself out quite often where I realize that I'm not in
- 8:38the present because I've obviously been triggered by
- 8:42something. And then that causes me to be
- 8:45thinking ahead, either thinking about what I'm about to do or it
- 8:52will kind of take me back to what happened before.
- 8:58But I'm not here and now and I lose my magic.
- 9:01And I absolutely know I do. And then you can't relate to
- 9:05people in the same way because, you know, and I mean, how many
- 9:09people actually get this before they get to go on stage and they
- 9:14they do a talk or they may have something important and might be
- 9:19even that they're hosting a party or, you know, they want to
- 9:23impress their boss and they want to be the best version of
- 9:26themself. But all of a sudden they get so
- 9:29caught up in what am I going to do?
- 9:31And how is this going to be? And then of course, as you know,
- 9:35being the expert in this, you know, all those self doubt
- 9:40sabotaging voices start jumping into the head that causes us to
- 9:47kind of go back. And I noticed that backstage you
- 9:51talked about the inner child and tapping into that place and that
- 9:59space. So can you open that up a little
- 10:02bit for us? Yeah, I believe every single one
- 10:06of us has this true essence, IE who we are way back when where
- 10:15we didn't have the ego, the judgement, etcetera.
- 10:19And we were just ourselves pure with, you know, able to do
- 10:29whatever we put ourselves to. And you know, I mean by crawling
- 10:34or walking or talking. But we we were able to do that
- 10:38from a place of I know I can do that.
- 10:41And I think, you know, when I was younger, I was very
- 10:46creative, very creative dancing, singing, drawing, arts.
- 10:53And I believe a lot of us are like that.
- 10:55And for me, it's getting back in touch with that part of us, if
- 11:00that part of us is being closed down in any way over the years
- 11:04of conditioning by what people tell us is we all have this
- 11:11creative part of us as well as the logical part.
- 11:16So yeah, the inner child stuff is reconnecting more to who we
- 11:21are at our core. Yeah, I'm very right brain
- 11:25Hazel. So I'm, I live in my creation
- 11:31and I know that that can drive people crazy sometimes.
- 11:35And I think I love what you're saying and, and what you stand
- 11:41for because I see so many people and I know that burnout wasn't
- 11:48the thing really for you. It's more about those people
- 11:52that are saying to themself, well, you know, what's next?
- 11:57And there's got to be more than this.
- 12:00And I know that there's something better.
- 12:02But, you know, from my own point of view, I see people that are
- 12:07trying to do it all and they just want to be everything to
- 12:12everyone. And as a result, that burns them
- 12:17out. It waters them down.
- 12:20It causes them to be in this kind of a mode where you know,
- 12:25this is what they're doing. And you know, I, one of the
- 12:29things that I feel that I have accomplished and I feel it very
- 12:34much aligns with what you're teaching people is the fact that
- 12:40I was that client of yours. The self doubting, the self
- 12:46sabotaging the high achiever to the point of OverDrive and hence
- 12:53the burnout. Because I felt that that's where
- 12:58my kind of like my self esteem was.
- 13:01Because obviously something when I was young must have triggered
- 13:07me into thinking that, oh, hang on a minute.
- 13:10If I achieve this and if I achieve that, then I'm going to
- 13:15get the love or the attention or the recognition.
- 13:22And you know, I, I feel that for these people that are dealing
- 13:28with so much noise, I mean, that's not me anymore.
- 13:32In fact, I have to say, and I, and I have my downfalls.
- 13:36Don't you worry about that. But the old version of me that
- 13:42used to try to do everything, whereas now I will own what I
- 13:46can't do. And you know, I know that there
- 13:51is a there's, there's, there's parts of our life where, yes, we
- 13:56have to do these things logically, but where our focus
- 14:01is and where we have a choice. I feel it's so important to live
- 14:09by what you're teaching and preaching here, which is about,
- 14:14you know, bringing out the best in yourself, you know, and kind
- 14:19of like understanding the noise. And also, you know, I want you
- 14:25to teach us on how do we become more aware of that noise so that
- 14:33that noise in our head, like we wake up in the morning and we've
- 14:37got all these things going on in our brain.
- 14:40Can you talk me through, you know, because I know there's a
- 14:44lot of people out there that are going to listen to this and hear
- 14:47it. What would you say would be the,
- 14:51you know, some of the most incredible value systems that
- 14:57have helped you through getting through the noise and the
- 15:02sabotaging thoughts and just bringing yourself back to
- 15:06present? Yeah.
- 15:08So thank you for asking the question, Terry.
- 15:10I can certainly relate to what you were saying about
- 15:13Hyperachiever. So I was brought up very much in
- 15:15a competitive environment where I competed a lot when I was
- 15:19younger. So, you know, hence, you know,
- 15:22self worth attached to perhaps achievement and striving for
- 15:26more without even stopping to celebrate the achievements that
- 15:30you'd already won. And yeah, if you continue to do
- 15:35that, eventually, as you see, you will burn out because you're
- 15:40not even to swapping to celebrate.
- 15:44So here's the thing, all of us, every human has self sabotage
- 15:50tendencies. And the first thing is bringing
- 15:54awareness to when we may be defaulting to that self sabotage
- 16:00pattern, inner critic, gremlin, saboteur, whatever you want to
- 16:05call it. But it's the part of us, the
- 16:08voice in our head that does not serve us.
- 16:12And it it, it impacts our nervous system as well.
- 16:17So it's also highly connected that you know, it's, it's so
- 16:22fast and it's like that it's impulsive, it's emotional and
- 16:26it'll get you and it has so fast in a blink of an eye.
- 16:32So for, for me, the first thing I would say is first thing in
- 16:37the morning is being super intentional about getting into a
- 16:41practice, which is literally, you know, as soon As for me,
- 16:47what I do is as soon as I get out of my bed, I literally sit
- 16:51in the garden and I will either journal or I will listen to
- 16:58nature, watch, observe nature, just to really connect more with
- 17:04myself and connect more with my intention around who am I being
- 17:10today and who am I meeting today and what are the situations?
- 17:15But there's there's definitely something about first thing in
- 17:17the morning that really helps us connect back to ourself and to
- 17:22connect back to who we want to be in any given moment.
- 17:29And so that when these little pesky voices come out, we're
- 17:33able to notice it. We're able to be self aware and
- 17:37we're able to use an exercise such as I, you know, began the
- 17:43session with to bring us back to being present so that we can
- 17:48connect with that different part of us who is empathetic, who is
- 17:53caring, compassionate, creative, curious, will consider the
- 17:59bigger picture, IE what's important here so that we're
- 18:03able to take any action or any meeting or any situation with
- 18:09that calm, clear headed action. Ultimately that's what every
- 18:14single human wants is to be able to operate more from that place
- 18:19rather than a place of, you know, the self sabotaging
- 18:23patterns that inner critic. So it's a practice and it's like
- 18:28fitness. It's my practice.
- 18:31It's just like going to the gym. I don't go to the gym
- 18:34personally, but it's I do certainly have routines that I
- 18:38go through to exercise my body and I have routines that I go
- 18:42through to exercise what is happening up here.
- 18:47And it is all connected. So yeah, it's, it's a fitness,
- 18:53it's a mental fitness. A mental fitness.
- 18:56I love that. Yeah.
- 18:59Look, I can't agree with you more.
- 19:01I, I believe that, you know, even as a clinical
- 19:04hypnotherapist, the word diet, I mean, anything with the word dye
- 19:09in it, it's got to be bad. You know, that's what my husband
- 19:12always says. But the fact is that when you
- 19:17feel like, oh, I've got to go to the gym, I've got to do this,
- 19:20I've got to do that, you're almost in a sabotaging pattern
- 19:25already just because you are either saying you've got to do
- 19:30it, which feels like an energy of otherwise it's like, oh, I
- 19:36should have done this or I should have done that.
- 19:38So as Anthony Robbins says, we're sort of shooting all over
- 19:41ourself rather than what you've just said, which is you don't go
- 19:45to the gym necessarily. And there's nothing wrong with
- 19:47going to the gym. If you love going to the gym and
- 19:50that's sustainable for you, that's awesome, You know, much
- 19:54blessings, but there's many people that just cannot sustain
- 19:59that sort of thing. So what kind of exercises do you
- 20:03recommend? I know I've got a a couple and
- 20:06if I may share just a couple of the things that I do is even
- 20:11just moving the body like getting up in the morning.
- 20:15And making sure that I'm putting some water in my body before I
- 20:21throw the caffeine down the throat, you know, because I'm a
- 20:24bit of a coffee lover in the morning.
- 20:26But I know that when you wake up, that first thing that you
- 20:30take in is so vital. So I tend to, I love the sun,
- 20:34although we're in winter at the moment, so you know, too bad
- 20:37about that one. So if there is sun, I'll go out
- 20:41and I'll stand in the sun and I'll move my body.
- 20:46I won't necessarily do 50 bend backs, 10 push ups, all the rest
- 20:52of it. It's just movement, mind to body
- 20:55movement. And I've got a couple of
- 20:58affirmations as well that I, that I do.
- 21:00But what are some of your things that that you would suggest?
- 21:05Yeah, I know. Thank you for asking the
- 21:06question. I mean, I've got my water here.
- 21:08So there's so many people that are simply dehydrated.
- 21:12So water, it's not caffeine, it's not tea, it's not fizzy
- 21:15drinks, it's pure water. And we are 70% whatever made-up
- 21:21of water ourselves. So we need water.
- 21:24So I totally relate to that and movement.
- 21:27We are designed to move. We need to move our bodies,
- 21:32otherwise we start getting back pain.
- 21:34Backache. The number of people I know who
- 21:38have backache from sitting at a desk behind a computer and not
- 21:42moving their body. So many people.
- 21:46So movement is fundamental, especially when you're sitting
- 21:49down behind a PC. So I love what you said about
- 21:54affirmations as well. There is something incredibly
- 21:57powerful about the words we tell ourselves.
- 22:00So if I say I am stupid, I am useless, I cannot do this.
- 22:07Well, guess what? It's sending a message to your
- 22:10whole system that you cannot do this.
- 22:14Whereas if I'm seeing things like I am smart, I can do
- 22:18anything I put my mind to that shifts it that I can do this.
- 22:22So there's definitely something around what you tell yourself.
- 22:27There's also something around what you consume.
- 22:30And I don't just mean water. Also what you put in your body.
- 22:34We are what we eat. I could go on going out first
- 22:40thing in the morning. Getting your vitamin D from the
- 22:43sunshine again is proven you need it, otherwise your system
- 22:48gets depressed. We need sunlight, humans need
- 22:51sunlight. So it's why I go into my garden
- 22:54first thing in the morning to connect with the sun, greet the
- 23:00sun. It's another day.
- 23:01We don't get to say we're going to be here tomorrow.
- 23:04We have no idea when we're going to be here tomorrow.
- 23:07We assume we will, but we don't know.
- 23:10There's so many things I can say about nature as well.
- 23:14The benefits of nature and being out in nature help us to
- 23:19literally calm our nervous system and to connect with that
- 23:23creative part of us and to connect with that awe and wisdom
- 23:30that each of us have if we only slow down to notice it.
- 23:35Journaling works for many people.
- 23:39Journaling is great because you're getting out what's in the
- 23:42head through your heart, into your hand.
- 23:46There's just something incredibly powerful about
- 23:49getting what's in your head through your heart, through your
- 23:52hand. And when you write it down and
- 23:55raise, write what's in your consciousness, you get to see
- 24:00what you're telling yourself, what your thoughts are.
- 24:04So generally for me, I use it for poetry, consciousness,
- 24:09writing things. It's just incredible to to help
- 24:14to connect with who you are and what you want more of just by
- 24:19asking simple questions. Simple questions.
- 24:24That's about joy. What brings me joy?
- 24:27Good question. Speaking of which, Speaking of
- 24:32which, I love that question. What brings you joy?
- 24:36I want to talk about one of the first questions you got asked
- 24:40when you went in to become a Co active coach.
- 24:45Based on the first pillar. What brings you?
- 24:49Do you want to say the word? Yeah, fulfillment, fulfilment.
- 24:54What fulfils me 100% is what is deep and true to all of us.
- 25:01What do we most value? I most value connection.
- 25:05I most value helping others one-on-one.
- 25:09I most value, you know, bottom line, love health.
- 25:17So fulfilment is in any given day what fulfils you?
- 25:24And just sitting with that question, dancing.
- 25:28Oh my God, I love dancing. I love, there's so many things I
- 25:33love and how can you bring more of that into your daily life?
- 25:41So dancing for a single? Morning.
- 25:43We're sisters. We're definitely soul sisters
- 25:46because that and that leads me to sort of opening up on this
- 25:51topic as well, because you're talking about what brings you
- 25:55fulfilment. And what you're talking about
- 25:59here is essentially, you know, helping that person to
- 26:03understand, you know, where their intention and purpose is
- 26:07really based. And I love that you've done
- 26:12that. And then you've talked about
- 26:14your creativity. I'm not saying that everybody
- 26:16out there that's gonna listen to this is necessarily going to be
- 26:21like you and I and love to dance.
- 26:25However, I believe that Shahzad touches on this as well.
- 26:29And you're obviously certified according to that.
- 26:34Positive intelligence is one of your many certifications.
- 26:40He talks about sort of getting in touch with that inner child
- 26:46and where you did sort of come out and actually feel good.
- 26:51It might have been an accidental moment.
- 26:54And what I discovered is, Oh my gosh, you know what?
- 26:59I came forward when I was on the stage or I was in front of
- 27:06people. I was dancing and I was
- 27:08expressing myself. Now I Can't Sing for nuts, but
- 27:13that's OK. But I, I would, I love to emcee
- 27:17karaokes. And I'm like, why is it that all
- 27:20of a sudden I'm in my sweet spot?
- 27:22And then that took me back to my childhood and I recognized that
- 27:27that's where I come out. And even as a coach, being the
- 27:31genius zone, bringing people's genius out, helping them to
- 27:36really master, you know, what they're all about it.
- 27:41It kind of all correlates. But can you talk us through the
- 27:45whole, you know, understanding our own creativity and why
- 27:51that's so important to sort of tap into perhaps our, our
- 27:56childhood of where we may have, you know, found ourselves
- 28:03enjoying our lives and really just accidentally having a great
- 28:07time and feeling fulfilled? Well, I mean, there's so much it
- 28:13does for the body, right? So when you connect more with
- 28:15that dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, all these feel good
- 28:19hormones, you know, that's just one thing.
- 28:22But for me it's just aliveness. It's it's your full expression
- 28:30of who you are at your best. And aliveness is probably what I
- 28:35would call it you. For me, I just feel so alive and
- 28:42vibrant whenever I'm in the outdoors because I grew up on a
- 28:47farm, so I love the outdoors. I love nature, I love connecting
- 28:51with that. I love dancing.
- 28:53It's a freedom of expression and I believe more we can be more
- 29:00attuned to that, the more we're able to tap into that
- 29:03creativity. And let's face it, in companies,
- 29:07what's the number one thing all companies need is innovation.
- 29:11And when when companies are looking at innovation, the more
- 29:16that people are able to get in touch with that part of
- 29:19themselves, that part of their brain where whatever you want to
- 29:22call it, the more they're able to define that connection to
- 29:27that. The more innovation there is,
- 29:29the more disruption there is, the more creation there will,
- 29:34because you're connecting with a different part of you, away from
- 29:38the analytical, logical mind. And for me, I am more alive as,
- 29:46for want of a better phrase, I'm more connected with what's most
- 29:50important to me, and me at my best as well.
- 29:54It brings me a job, right? That's that's gold.
- 29:58I mean, that's just gold right there, you know.
- 30:01So what brings you to life, you know, for the listeners out
- 30:05there, and what was it that, you know, were those moments in your
- 30:10life where you literally maybe accidentally discovered yourself
- 30:15feeling like what Hazel is talking about?
- 30:19Now, for those of you, incidentally, who are really
- 30:24wanting to come to life and really feel that you're at that
- 30:29crossroads and, and you want to be able to to take that
- 30:34deliberate, intentional, massive aligned action.
- 30:38This is your lady. And we're going to put Hazel's
- 30:42contact details in the show notes so that, you know, it
- 30:46doesn't matter even if you're in a role where you might feel like
- 30:49that you're fulfilled, but they might be.
- 30:51Well, what's next? You know, Hazel's going to
- 30:55really help you to be able to tap into that creative side into
- 31:00that creative genius as as well as reprogramming your brain so
- 31:07that you can do some of the elements that she has so
- 31:14incredibly learn how to do that she's gonna, you know, impart
- 31:19with you. Now.
- 31:20Balance was another really important pillar and you know,
- 31:27oh gosh, like even when I think about my left and right brain,
- 31:30that's so imbalanced, it's not funny.
- 31:33I don't know whether that's you would consider that I need to
- 31:36work on that, but can you talk to me about, you know, balance
- 31:41and and what that means in making empowered choices?
- 31:45Yeah, balance. So balance for me is the ability
- 31:51to come up things with different perspectives.
- 31:55So you're you are able to consider different scenarios and
- 32:01able to see different perspectives to make an empire
- 32:05choice about which is the perspective that's going to best
- 32:09serve you in any given moment. And that's super important when
- 32:13it comes to relationships. So it could be in the workplace,
- 32:16at home, but you're able to have that flexibility and
- 32:20adaptability of your mind in the moment to have these different
- 32:25perspectives and movement and metaphors.
- 32:32There's different ways to access different perspectives, but the
- 32:36movement and the metaphors are too ways that help us access
- 32:42these different perspectives. And also throwing out different
- 32:48items, things you might not think of to help you get into a
- 32:52different perspective, to see things from a new angle.
- 32:56Because when you're able to do that again, a whole world opens
- 33:00up in terms of empowered choices going forward.
- 33:04Absolutely. In fact, perception and
- 33:07perceptual shifting is probably the number one key that if
- 33:14everybody knew how to utilize that, it would change the world
- 33:19just in that one thing. So thank you for all the gold
- 33:23Nuggets you're sharing here. Now the next part and the third
- 33:28pillar that I know you really believe in as a thought leader
- 33:33in your field is processing and process and embracing life's
- 33:38full experience. So I think you've really covered
- 33:41a lot of that, but can you add, is there anything you can add
- 33:44there? Yeah, definitely.
- 33:46So process for me is about being able to express your emotions
- 33:53fully. And so for me, the ability to
- 33:58tap into what's really happening in your body sensation wise.
- 34:05So it's it's the ability to to notice what is happening
- 34:11internally as you're talking about different things.
- 34:16So processing is processing emotions.
- 34:18Emotions are brilliant because there are signposts to what is
- 34:23important and maybe what is a value that's being trampled on.
- 34:29So when they cry, they could be crying with joy or they could be
- 34:33crying with sorrow or crying because something, some values
- 34:37being trampled on. So for me, it's about the full
- 34:40expression of processing emotions.
- 34:44And it could be difficult emotions, challenging emotions,
- 34:47or it could also be emotions which are fulfilling, you know,
- 34:52expressive, joyful, etcetera. But it's the ability to process
- 34:56them because they are samples to what is actually happening in
- 35:00any given moment. Well, I love that.
- 35:04That's like your GPS, that radar that is directing you.
- 35:09So, yeah, don't kind of like, you know, try and throw away the
- 35:15emotions as a negative thing because sometimes they're your
- 35:18friend there. That red light on the dashboard
- 35:23saying, hey, you need petrol, you better get petrol or else.
- 35:27I mean, what would happen if we didn't have that red light on
- 35:28the dash, right? So we can look at it like that.
- 35:33So, you know, when you're working with your clients,
- 35:35obviously you're helping both men and women and you're very
- 35:40good at helping them to quieten that inner voice, which you've
- 35:44already showcased that. So I would say that's gold.
- 35:49And for for those listening in and tuning in, that's something
- 35:53you can just do every morning. You could listen in to Hazel's
- 35:56short meditation and find that to be so empowering.
- 36:02So you know, when you're thinking that this is just not
- 36:08quite it. And, you know, you've heard
- 36:10something that Hazel has said on the show that really resonates.
- 36:15Then get in contact with it. It's going to be in the show
- 36:19notes. Hazel.
- 36:20You also support people to obviously understand how to
- 36:27reprogram their brain from that saboteur to the sage.
- 36:32And you're offering assessments and, you know, maybe a call
- 36:38where people can jump on a clarity call with you.
- 36:41So, you know, there's one last question that I do want to go
- 36:45through with you. And, and I guess this is what I
- 36:48ask everybody on the show and that is that, you know, when we
- 36:52sort of get going, it's when we start to light up and I can see
- 36:57you've really lit up and you've just shared gold with what you
- 37:01what time you've had to to give to us to today.
- 37:05So I would like to ask, is there something for that person that's
- 37:11literally out there? They haven't mentioned yet that
- 37:13they're praying for you? Is there something that you
- 37:16would want to share with a person?
- 37:19I mean, based on, even if you go back to what you've already
- 37:23shared here already, because you've shared about the
- 37:27journaling, you've shared about, you know, tapping into your
- 37:31presence and, and, and some excellent ways of doing that,
- 37:35You know, you've talked about, you know, coming back to who you
- 37:40are at your core. And there's so much here.
- 37:45What would you like to share before we close and we let you
- 37:49get on with your busy day? OK, cool.
- 37:52I think the one other thing I just wanted to close with was
- 37:56the power of visualization. So for me, when I realized when
- 38:03we're able to tap into our imagination and visualisation,
- 38:07how powerful that can be. And as a practice, again, it's
- 38:12something that I use personally. So top athletes use it, CE OS
- 38:17use it and it's certainly something that I use with by
- 38:21coaching clients because when they're able to catch the
- 38:25saboteurs, become present and also tap into their imagination,
- 38:30visualisation, they're able to tap into that part of themselves
- 38:35that sees themselves doing the thing that they want to do,
- 38:39whether it's public speaking, whether it's negotiation,
- 38:42whether it's dancing on stage, whether it's speaking in front
- 38:46of a room of executive boards, etcetera.
- 38:51So I would say visualisation is an underutilised part that
- 38:58people don't tap into enough. So that's one other tool I want
- 39:03to share. And if anyone is out there who
- 39:07is not feeling happy, fulfilled in the workplace, and anyone who
- 39:15also wants to be top of their game in terms of their own
- 39:18performance as a people leader, I would love to hear from you
- 39:22because I love helping people like that to navigate what's
- 39:26next and be the best version of themselves.
- 39:30Wow. Yeah, boom.
- 39:32Right there girlfriend. And you know, what Hazel is
- 39:37going to also do for you is to help you activate yourself
- 39:42Command muscle. So I don't, I don't, I feel that
- 39:46that's, that's just really incredibly powerful to do that
- 39:52because sometimes it's it's we're not looking for the, you
- 39:56know, the things we have to walk to the other side of the world
- 39:59and come back again to, to get what you want.
- 40:03But it's these incredible, you know, exercises and mental
- 40:09fitness and awareness. And yourself command muscle is
- 40:16obviously one of your signature techniques.
- 40:19So I just want to say thank you so much Hazel, for this time.
- 40:24I know that you you're running short of time and for what
- 40:28you've given us is absolutely incredible.
- 40:31So I want you to just tell us where we can find you, bearing
- 40:36in mind we're going to have all of your links in the show notes
- 40:39so people can contact you. Where's the place that you hang
- 40:43out where if somebody listens to this and says I want to get in
- 40:47contact with her right now, where will that be?
- 40:50Yeah, so the best way to get in touch with me is on LinkedIn or
- 40:53to e-mail me. But as you see, you'll you'll
- 40:55share it in the show notes. And I also use Calendly for
- 40:59people to set up Discovery taster sessions with me as well.
- 41:04So thank you for sharing Terry and the show notes.
- 41:06I really appreciate that. Yes, and you're welcome and have
- 41:10a beautiful day and thank you so much once again and stay awesome
- 41:15everyone and thank you Hazel. And that was an incredible mic
- 41:23dropping moment of so much gold right there.
- 41:28So share it. Sharing is caring.
- 41:31Go and share it. Subscribe to this channel
- 41:34because we've got a great line up for you every week.
- 41:37And on that note, may the force be with you.
- 41:40That's over and out from Terry Messenger, Genius Stone.
