  Hartnell wasn't in this episode. I'm sure other people do and

  unwell, or whatever. But, I know he had a very

  difficult relationship with the production crew at this point,

  and he wasn't the easiest person to work with.

  So, Perhaps the pressure of it, got too much room, I don't know.

  But his absence from this episode makes this episode
• 2:29
  Slightly bizarre. It's hunk is a bit unnerving
• 2:32
  though, isn't it? And they're constantly looking
• 2:34
  for him as well. And I think this is a in terms
• 2:38
  of like sound design, I think that this is a really effective
• 2:41
  episode when we go down into like the Dalek City and the
• 2:45
  noise of the corridors and that it's like the Daleks.

  But on acid is really loud and creepy.

  satisfactory and that's only like three.

  Be impressed with a lot of them to be honest, Flora from the new

  series that you felt those works really well.

  think, I think Army of Ghosts and doomsday work really well.

  Wrapped up, all the stuff about the year with the parallel Earth

  and the rose. Eat Jackie story and everything.

  Built to a huge Climax and ended up with the rose rose, being

  separated from the doctor and everything.

  So I think that work really well.

  And I think to a point the pandorica opens and the Big

  Bang, the Big Bang in particular, I think worked as a
• 13:48
  finale because it did something slightly different in the stakes
• 13:51
  were still very much Universal. Yeah, big big Stakes, the whole
• 13:56
  universe has been collapsed and reboot him.

  But the focus was very much on a very small group of people
• 14:02
  rather than trying to make it huge and ethnic and everything
• 14:06
  else. It was just like, very tightly

  focused. And I thought that worked quite

  well actually, will it come as any Great surprise.

  big catastrophic, you know world or Universe ending drama but the

  hot they focused on personal Stakes like emotional states.

  It's very much focused on the main characters, but, but we

  suspend stuff. Remember the sequences of the

  fella around the jungle in the first episode and being men the

  would have been a very atmospheric episode to watch

  with the Steve and Sarah in the jungle and then later in the

  empty Dalek City that must have been really spooky when's

  canceled back after this I have absolutely no idea.

  with some of the issues that they had with timing gasping.

  They said they were getting designers weren't getting the

  scripts until late, which meant the director didn't have a

  chance to properly stick with the designer and see what sets

  were available until we actually got to the set and had to in

  some cases, judging from some of the demos.

  I in that book in some Cases had to rejig his camera shots to
• 18:24
  avoid showing the shortcomings of some of the sets and I'm sure

  the Doug can't build did a fantastic job of that.

  I don't think we're going to be finding it like some other

  stories where you can see the edge of the set or whatever and

  things like that. If we were to get me the

  hatch themselves through to the Detention Center where all the

  principal the delegates are being held prisoner.

  Oh oh I didn't realize they've been, we've got the past, the

  point where they're at all good. I'm going to sail or they just

  had the door locked. Funding is self-evident and in a

  cell. And now Stephen Sarah, again ago

  and This is great. I think now, it feels like
• 20:23
  everything is ramping up now, the delegates are in danger.

  Steve, they're in danger. The doctors got missing.

  You know, like the hijinks of the last couple of episodes are

  a thing of the past now, Yes, we're now back there.

  E, much into the we know, the Daleks are up to something big

  and in some respects, the fact that we can't find the Daleks
• 20:44
  now makes you wonder what they are doing.

  But this does belie, the fact that Dennis Spooner can only

  write like quirky comedic scripts as well.

  Yeah, I mean that's a that's a common thing though, isn't it?

  You get you get writers or whatever who are known for doing

  particular Styles and start people think that means that's

  all they can do but actually They can pull off some really

  good stuff. This is Maverick, Chen's

  self-delusion coming back to the for is.

  Now, he's saying that Sarah Kingdom really has.

  Come back out of loyalty to me as guardian of the solar system.

  Dear oh dear, the more meat stock is ego gets the more

  satisfied. The moment when he's killed is

  years ago that character seemed really absurd but now we've had

  some actual politicians with that kind of The shooting

  I think Donald Trump is far more unbelievable than magic chain.

  It's amazing. In some respects that we have

  Australia and they didn't actually end up buying it.

  Because they reviewed it and said no, it's not suitable for

  the general rating that we would normally want to put Doctor Who

  out under. We can't cut and we have to cut

  too much of it out to meet that rating.

  The whole story tone is far too dark.

  the fact that we have any of them at all is amazing.
