- 2:51has declared a water supply emergency and is
- 2:55urging residents to limit indoor water use. This
- 2:59decision aims to expedite a temporary water connection
- 3:02with Middleborough to address ongoing issues,
- 3:05including brown water. William Young, Bridgewater's
- 3:09water superintendent, emphasized, we are addressing
- 3:13this matter with the utmost seriousness in the
- 3:16emergency declaration. Residents have been encouraged
- 3:19to adopt conservation practices, such as shorter
- 3:22showers and only running dishwashers and washing
- 3:25machines when full. Yale warned that the connection
- 3:28may lead to temporary brown water in several
- 3:31neighborhoods due to changes in water flow. Town
- 3:35officials estimate that upgrades to municipal
- 3:37wells may take two years to complete. Now onto
- 3:46sports. The Baltimore Ravens lost 27 -22 to the
- 3:52Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, and one controversial
- 3:55call in the fourth quarter played a major role
- 3:57in this significant game. Both teams entered
- 4:01with 6 -6 records, but arrived at them in completely
- 4:05opposite ways. With less than three minutes to
- 4:08go, quarterback Lamar Jackson appeared to find
- 4:11tight end Isaiah Likely for a 13 -yard touchdown.
- 4:16Initially ruled a touchdown, the call was overturned
- 4:19upon review, as likely did not make a football
- 4:22move. The Steelers held on for the win, moving
- 4:26to 7 -6, while the Ravens fell to 10th place
- 4:29and are now two games behind the Indianapolis
- 4:32Colts for the final playoff spot. And last night
- 4:36on Monday Night Football, the Chargers pulled
- 4:38ahead in overtime to defeat the Philadelphia
- 4:41Eagles in a thrilling 22 -19 win. This victory
- 4:45marked the biggest win of the season for a Chargers
- 4:48team that seemed to be spiraling out of playoff
- 4:51contention. Quarterback Justin Herbert, just
- 4:55a week after surgery on a fracture in his left
- 4:57hand, rushed for 66 yards. The Chargers defense
- 5:02forced five turnovers from Super Bowl MVP Jalen
- 5:06Hurts, including a crucial interception in overtime.
- 5:10Next, the Chargers face the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 5:13while the Eagles meet the Las Vegas Raiders in
- 5:17local sports. The St. Louis Blues host the Bruins
- 5:21after Brayden Shen scored two goals in the Blues'
- 5:254 -3 win against the Montreal Canadiens. St.
- 5:30Louis has a record of 5 wins, 6 losses, and 4
- 5:34overtime losses at home, and 11 wins, 12 losses,
- 5:38and 7 overtime losses overall. The Blues have
- 5:42a scoring differential of negative 25, with 77
- 5:47goals scored and 102 goals conceded. Boston has
- 5:52a record of 6 wins and 8 losses in road games,
- 5:56and 17 wins and 13 losses overall. The two teams
- 6:00meet Tuesday for the second time this season,
- 6:03with the Bruins winning the previous matchup
- 6:055 -2. In top news, The Supreme Court appeared
- 6:12poised Monday to expand the president's power
- 6:14to fire heads of many regulatory agencies, despite
- 6:18one pivotal justice expressing a desire to insulate
- 6:21the Federal Reserve from political pressure.
- 6:25During two and a half hours of oral arguments,
- 6:28justices probed the limits of President Trump's
- 6:30assertion of virtually unfettered authority to
- 6:33remove agency leaders. Justice Brett Kavanaugh
- 6:37raised concerns about a broad victory for Trump
- 6:40jeopardizing the independence of the Federal
- 6:42Reserve's Board of Governors. Justice Alina Kagan
- 6:46warned that increasing presidential power could
- 6:49undermine civil service protections for federal
- 6:52employees. Rulings in both cases are expected
- 6:55by July. In business news, this week a key moment
- 7:02for artificial intelligence docs unfolds. and
- 7:05it has nothing to do with NVIDIA. Oracle's earnings
- 7:09will be the crucial event for tech investors.
- 7:12The market's focus on artificial intelligence
- 7:15growth has expanded beyond NVIDIA's chip demand.
- 7:19Concerns arise over the sustainability of data
- 7:22center demand as investors remain vigilant about
- 7:25signals from key companies. Oracle reports its
- 7:29fiscal second quarter results on Wednesday. with
- 7:32analysts expecting about 15 % sales growth. The
- 7:36outlook for Oracle's demand from OpenAI will
- 7:39also be scrutinized as a five -year contract
- 7:42worth $300 billion begins in 2027. This week
- 7:47is pivotal, so be prepared for significant market
- 7:50movements. In crypto movement, Bitcoin is down
- 7:552 % to about $90 ,000. Ethereum is down 1 % to
- 8:01just over 3 ,100. And XRP is down 1 % to $2 .05.
- 8:10Moving on to a more local vibe. In our community

- 8:42for a free class. With locations in Canton, Wellesley,
- 8:47Hingham, Brookline, and Framingham, just be sure
- 8:51to tell them Sunny Morning sent you by. And now,
- 8:55back to the show. Let's talk science. An invisible
- 9:00force has long eluded detection within the halls
- 9:04of the world's most famous particle accelerator
- 9:07until now. Scientists at CERN, in Switzerland
- 9:11and Boothy University, Frankfurt, have announced
- 9:14the isolation of a resonant ghost that affects
- 9:18particle behavior inside this super proton synchrotron.
- 9:22This three -dimensional shape shifts over time
- 9:25best measured in four dimensions. The ghost arises
- 9:29from resonance, where energy waves interact,
- 9:32leading to beam degradation. Understanding this
- 9:36phenomenon is crucial to avoiding particle loss
- 9:39in accelerator physics. Their findings aim to
- 9:43help develop strategies to mitigate these effects
- 9:46in future particle accelerators. And in entertainment
- 9:52news... Laurence Fishburne is looking to step
- 9:56back behind the camera and is currently developing
- 9:58a directing project, The Rule of Nines, with
- 10:01producer and casting director Bonnie Timmerman
- 10:04and actor Andre Holland. John Connor wrote the
- 10:08script. Fishburne expresses, the fact that I
- 10:12have been making films since I was 11 or 12 means
- 10:15that I am a filmmaker. He adds, this may be the
- 10:19moment where I move into the director space in
- 10:22a real, consistent kind of way. Fishfirm will
- 10:26return for the fifth and final season of The
- 10:28Witcher, which he anticipates will probably be
- 10:31streaming next year, probably around the same
- 10:34time, like Halloween. Well, alrighty folks, it's
- 10:39time for the quote of the day. And today, our
- 10:43quote comes from the Indian political leader
- 10:45and activist, Mahatma Gandhi, and he said, in
- 10:51a gentle way, you can shake the world, emphasizing
- 10:54the power of nonviolent resistance and grassroots
- 10:57mobilization to create significant change. And
- 11:02that's a wrap for this morning. You can check
- 11:05out our Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok for some
- 11:09captivating aerial videos with local news and
- 11:12the weather reports. Had an amazing day, my good
- 11:16friends. We'll see you tomorrow with another
- 11:19episode of Sunny Mornings in Boston.
