- 0:00And what he's really doing to me, which is eye opening, is
- 0:04analyzing different kinds of people, all related to character
- 0:07traits, the different types of paths people may take.
- 0:11So for example, last week, last time we went Thursday, the
- 0:16analysis was that there are people who want to do good.
- 0:19They really are dedicated to becoming good people.
- 0:21They just don't know how. And he said because of that,
- 0:24they make serious mistakes and they take the wrong paths and
- 0:27they give people like they put themselves through a lot of pain
- 0:29and a lot of work. And a lot of, you know, they,
- 0:32they're trying to control themselves and they just do not
- 0:34have any understanding of what's good and what's not good.
- 0:37And they end up on the wrong side of a lot of issues.
- 0:41I gave examples of sometimes when there are disputes and
- 0:44people get involved and they're the wrong people to get
- 0:46involved. You've seen this.
- 0:48And they side with the wrong God and they just ought to be nice.
- 0:51So they what happens is they go to the victim because we're
- 0:55always inclined to protect the victim, the underdog.
- 0:57We all like the underdog, We like the victim and they make
- 1:00things worse because they don't understand that victim might not
- 1:02have been actually been a victim.
- 1:04That victim might have been really the aggressor.
- 1:06Typical stuff. And that all comes because of
- 1:09their do gooders. They would love to do good their
- 1:11horrors in the right place, but they do not know how.
- 1:13So he says that's why a person needs to have not only a good
- 1:16inclination to grow up, we're also in the right direction of
- 1:19how to develop. And let's see how he says over
- 1:22here on the bottom of 14. Are we born bad and we have to
- 1:27chisel ourselves to become good? We're going to see this every
- 1:30say it. Yes, Christian mom, I weren't.
- 1:33In sin not because I know, I know, I know babies.
- 1:35We'll see. We'll see a similar concept in
- 1:38that some degree. Yes, it's in in that concept
- 1:40somewhat similar. The Haines Lachmol Nashim had to
- 1:44win by the shop is therefore she filled their their people who
- 1:48whose lives have sunk in meaninglessness.
- 1:51This, therefore is connected to a different point.
- 1:53Lambdam said the commercial the ocean was dying.
- 1:55People have to understand and weigh their values Lord Yam, but
- 1:58not to kiss it. They need to be learnt and be
- 2:01taught. What is the justness of scales.
- 2:04In other words, they need to learn put on balance.
- 2:06Now the same we're saying you have a very good, you know, do
- 2:09good or guy. A guy was hard in my place.
- 2:11There's no clue he's doing because there's no balance.
- 2:14They need to learn the right pass.
- 2:17The Manchevra Adam, it's Chila Tavratomisila presents to choose
- 2:23the right path. Ashita Viejo le mekomra Anon
- 2:26with Ashen Shasham Kotova to bring him to a beautiful place.
- 2:30He that's based on the fear of heaven.
- 2:33That's really the finish line, the Ashela Shasham and is the
- 2:38goal. That's what Ashem wants, as he
- 2:42started with this concept somehow, as we'll see, plays a
- 2:47major role in this idea of doing things the right way.
- 2:49In other words, In other words, the way it works is, is that if
- 2:53people have proper fear of heaven, they're going to realize
- 2:58a lot of times I'm trying to do good, but it's not really a good
- 3:01thing. And they're going to say to
- 3:02themselves, basically, what does God want from me in this
- 3:05situation? OK, I'll give you an example.
- 3:07Yesterday I went to a funeral of my 10th grade rabbi, and that's
- 3:13an Edison yeshiva, my 10th garaba.
- 3:16And there was a theme that was steady throughout all the
- 3:19speeches. The speeches were in the, in the
- 3:22she, what he taught, what I went to.
- 3:23And there was a steady theme. It was an underlying theme
- 3:26because they could not say this openly.
- 3:29So you could tell from the from the kids and from the other
- 3:31rappers that spoke is that a lot of times in his life, he made
- 3:35decisions that were decisions about doing the right thing,
- 3:40even if they meant turning down a better offer.
- 3:44Now you're in the yeshiva that he taught.
- 3:46So you don't want to speak about the fact that he had
- 3:49opportunities to leave. So you don't want to say it
- 3:51openly. You're also talking about the
- 3:53fact that we're talking about Torah offers.
- 3:55So you don't want to, you know, put other people down.
- 3:56So it's very clear there was reading the lines type thing,
- 4:00but they basically insinuated the fact that he had got offers
- 4:03to positions that are better, you know, more procedures than
- 4:06technical teacher happens to be in that world, a very position
- 4:09position. But he got offers, it seemed
- 4:11like, to open up his own institutions.
- 4:14And his overall perspective was always the same thing.
- 4:18Am I stepping on someone else's toes or am I not?
- 4:21If I am, I'm going to turn it down.
- 4:24And it sounds like he never chose a different position
- 4:26because he did not want to step into those toes.
- 4:30And to me, that was a took away to take away message, which is
- 4:33you're doing good, you're in the field of doing good, you're
- 4:36teaching Torah. Nothing better than that and yet
- 4:39this on the overwhelming mindset was am I hurting somebody else,
- 4:44Am I not and that is the definition of balance.
- 4:47Definition of balance is you're doing something good, you're
- 4:50trying to be a good person. You still need to say to
- 4:52yourself, am I hurting someone or am I not even though I'm
- 4:56doing something good And that's the same thing over here.
- 4:58You have people who are do gooders to have to tell
- 5:00themselves basically, what would God want the way the children
- 5:02and his brothers and said, what would God want?
- 5:06What's ever Hashem, You know, one of them said to this point,
- 5:10we have three things Al Tudah, al waddah, gimu Khazadim, the
- 5:14world stands. Tudah is teaching Tudah learning
- 5:16Tudah Al Waddah is praying in service and and they said, you
- 5:21know why we say all these three because if someone is failing in
- 5:25one of these three, it's an indication that the other two
- 5:28might be sketch. So let's say he's a big Tudah
- 5:31person and he's a big prayer, but he doesn't care about other
- 5:34people. They said maybe he just likes
- 5:36learning. Maybe just like Spring, he
- 5:38doesn't really care about this and the other way too.
- 5:40They said you have to have all three.
- 5:43You have to have an equal balance to prove that you're
- 5:46genuine and you're real. Notice there's a constant
- 5:48consistent theme to maybe 8 speeches.
- 5:51That was a consistent theme over over again, the same idea
- 5:54underlying, but it was real and hate home to me because balance
- 5:57and understanding that the right from wrong is not as simple as
- 6:00we think as a real constant. That's why he says, that's why
- 6:03he says the end of the road is your out your mind.
- 6:05Because asking yourself all the time, if God were in this
- 6:08situation, would God be this aggressive or would God be
- 6:11considerate about what other people are feeling?
- 6:13Would God act this way or were you not?
- 6:15That's a really important feeling.
- 6:17That's a mindset that's based on balance.
- 6:19The end Shuma said Nahshaab, there's nothing, there's no deed
- 6:25more valuable than your out your mind sense of presence of
- 6:30Hashem. That's why I call you out.
- 6:30Shumain la Chen yeshlo dia la Co never We need to tell everybody
- 6:35kiko ishara TSE la vie nafshola de milot to vote.
- 6:38If a person wants to have proper character sarika arabiya shamaya
- 6:45he needs to mix in fear of heaven.
- 6:47Kirata hashemiya keshit sense of the presence of Hashem is a
- 6:52common bond show. Marzi cola midot.
- 6:56It fortifies all character traits.
- 6:58With domela hoot. It's like a strange.
- 7:02Then you put two pearls, the cashew cachet tartiot.
- 7:08You put a strand through all the pearls, Right?
- 7:10You ever tried? My kids tried so many.
- 7:12Three times. My daughters, They wanted me to
- 7:14help them do that beating thing. Ever try?
- 7:16Yeah, my hands are. You don't have the hands for it.
- 7:18My kids keep asking Doc and you're writing my name and put
- 7:23it through and I get the name backward and that it's a test,
- 7:26but it's a very fine art. And he's saying Gerard Shamayim
- 7:30is that same art is that same bond that exactly putting the
- 7:34needle through it helps you bond all good characters together.
- 7:39That's the idea. And the concept is, is that
- 7:42overall people want to be good. Like we're saying people are
- 7:45dedicated to a certain area. You never want to be the guy, by
- 7:48the way, if you're a 1 trick pony, that's a weakness, which
- 7:51is if a person is very busy with 1 character tree and he is the
- 7:54guy that always talks about, I don't know what the character
- 7:58is, humility or always talks about a strada, even though it's
- 8:02very important to be good at certain areas.
- 8:04But if you're 1 trick point, it means you're not weaving
- 8:06everything together. You have to speak about a
- 8:08Sharada. But you know, once in a while,
- 8:10once in a blue moon, you might need to tell your wife that so
- 8:13and so is not a good person. Even though you're very anti
- 8:15Sharada, right? You have to speak about your
- 8:18Moody. Trust me, I'm a big immunity
- 8:20guy. But at the same time, once in a
- 8:21while, you got to be and have a sense of we have to stand up for
- 8:24this. We have to have, we have to have
- 8:26a sense of pride in certain areas, even though we're very
- 8:29humble. Everything requires a balance.
- 8:32And when you're a 1 trick pony, you're indicating that's not
- 8:34really that I have that balance. It's just that I like that area.
- 8:37You never want to be a person who's involving my own feelings
- 8:40into character. No character is a development
- 8:44weaving together all different concepts.
- 8:47Why is it weaving together? Because sometimes I'm you're
- 8:51going to be very strong in a certain area, you're going to
- 8:54allow certain bad things to develop.
- 8:56Take for example, I don't speak. Someone says I don't speak or
- 8:59shine ever. Good, I'm with you, don't speak
- 9:03or shine ever. But what if your brother is
- 9:06about to hire an associate who is a problem?
- 9:09You don't speak or shine a lot, but you know what?
- 9:11You're going to save your brother.
- 9:12What if your niece is about to get engaged to a guy who's a
- 9:16disaster? Right?
- 9:18You don't speak of Shana, but you better Piper.
- 9:21But those other? Games.
- 9:23There's other. Games to protect people get to.
- 9:28Right. For the legal reason.
- 9:32There's so much more attached to it, like it's you've never heard
- 9:35it and it's like pure form that it was like that the rabbi's
- 9:40tell you you're allowed to do it.
- 9:42People will be like. OK, I.
- 9:44Don't know. Are you saying there are
- 9:45situations that people allowed to speak?
- 9:46Yeah, like there was a case where there was there was a
- 9:49couple and they said that I can't, bad guy.
- 9:52But on top of it, the mother also felt like her class was
- 9:56above the guy's class. So this was for her the perfect
- 9:59storm. You know, the fact, the fact
- 10:01that they, you know, they said that he's that he vaped in, in
- 10:05yeshiva or whatever it was. Right, right.
- 10:07And you know. So it's like people use it as a
- 10:10what was an excuse? Well, he's what excuse not
- 10:14thinking, right? Because the same thing, the same
- 10:18thing, the same idea of balance over and over again, which is if
- 10:20you're just heavily fixated on a concept and you're not focusing
- 10:26the overall picture, there's a danger of a lack of balance.
- 10:29It's always the danger of that. That's the idea of you're not
- 10:32showing, you're not showing the overall umbrella that makes you
- 10:35say, I, I don't, I don't know everything that God wants.
- 10:37I don't know yet, but I know that I have to start thinking
- 10:39like him, which means I have to think what's the right thing,
- 10:42not simply what's that topic and what you know.
- 10:45That's an overall mindset and that's balance.
- 10:47That's idea what you're saying. There are situations where where
- 10:50different permitted if someone is.
- 10:52Permanent. Obligate.
- 10:53All right, someone is stealing money and and you know and you
- 10:57don't know and you're because the incomes up you're obligated.
- 11:01I know this is person is stealing.
- 11:04You know the and it's not it's not no, no, he's you need to
- 11:07know that you're don't you don't know that.
- 11:08Yeah. It's a misunderstanding of the
- 11:10topic when people say I never, ever speak.
- 11:13Now again, it's not a licensed speaker.
- 11:15No, it's licensed to understand. And sorry, that is a balance and
- 11:19balance is so key and so strong that when you're a do gooder
- 11:23that's only only busy with doing good and being Mr. Sweet and
- 11:27nice, sometimes you can be very dangerous, really lethal person.
- 11:32Whereas if a president recognizes I have to do the
- 11:34right thing, the right thing means I have to protect people.
- 11:37I also have to again. But sure, that leads to
- 11:40negativity, leads to a lot of disasters, leads to a lot of
- 11:43fights, creates a lot of problems are unnecessary for
- 11:46sure. The balance also, I'm sorry,
- 11:49lack of balance also create the same problems as a Sean I would
- 11:53create. The only way a person is
- 11:55complete is if they know when yes and when no.
- 11:58Want to be strong, want to be nice, want to be tough, want to
- 12:01be soft. It's all part of the makeup of a
- 12:03real person. And that's the idea of this
- 12:05strand that weaves all. Like he says, we've all the
- 12:08pearls together. If you only have one Pearl and
- 12:11all the other pearls, you don't kind of.
- 12:12You don't have a bracelet or anything.
- 12:14If a person has only one character tree and doesn't have
- 12:16the others, doesn't have that complete picture, you got your
- 12:20mind, the umbrella of telling you to do the right thing, get
- 12:24you to do everything together. It makes you great.
- 12:26That's the idea. So the picking and choosing that
- 12:28the they we do today. No, it's no.
- 12:30I'll give you an example. No, I'll give you an example.
- 12:33When they talk about the Shabba Al comes right?
- 12:35And they speak about Sanat Khanam, right?
- 12:38The only reason why it's OK that we speak about, of course the
- 12:41ground tells us it's a source of the destruction.
- 12:44The little is why, in my opinion, it's OK talk about one
- 12:46topic is only if you address the fact that it's not really one
- 12:50topic. It's really an umbrella topic.
- 12:53Sonat Kanam is really an offshoot of all our lack of
- 12:56character today. It comes from jealousy and
- 12:59fighting on Sharda and hate and all these different things and
- 13:02have a person really. Sonat Kanam is a finish line.
- 13:05Really they they've done over the recent years, they've
- 13:08changed it to start speaking about specific topics because of
- 13:11the fact that that's only the finish line.
- 13:13So it's a combination of a bunch of things, but if you only focus
- 13:15on the one thing you're not getting the job done.
- 13:17That's the overall idea he's telling you.
- 13:18Let's see a little more over here.
- 13:20Call on me dot or vote without what I want to have one point,
- 13:23by the way, just to understand this.
- 13:25I just kept telling the paragraph just understand this.
- 13:29That's why the word me dot is the word that we use for
- 13:32character. What does me dot mean in English
- 13:34measurements? Character is measuring
- 13:36something, weighing it, saying when yes and one no, how much is
- 13:42and how much I need to pull away from that.
- 13:44That's me thought. That's character.
- 13:45It's measurements. And that's why a person who
- 13:48weighs everything that he does weighs his thoughts.
- 13:51I'll give you another example. Just come down my mind from
- 13:53yesterday. I was debating back and forth.
- 13:55I knew that the rabbit passed away on Friday afternoon.
- 13:57So I know it's going to be a Sunday morning funeral in
- 13:59Edison, right? Sunday morning for me is like I
- 14:03just sit and learn I'm I'm free and the burial was going to be
- 14:06in Lakewood, which where I was Sunday afternoon.
- 14:09So I was waiting the whole time. What's the right thing to do?
- 14:13Should I go to the funeral and that is in New Jersey or should
- 14:15I just stick it out and link when I go to the burial?
- 14:18No one know anything by the way, by these Eschenadas funerals,
- 14:21you don't really even see the family.
- 14:22I happen to be I did. You don't really see the family.
- 14:24So you're not getting credit for it.
- 14:26Should I write and it sounds like a funny thing to say, but
- 14:28should I go or should I not go? And I was debating this back and
- 14:31forth. What's the right thing to do?
- 14:34Go what? Do you think it's?
- 14:37The right thing to go. Yeah, but you know.
- 14:40You wouldn't be torn. You wouldn't be torn if it was
- 14:43the wrong thing. I understand, but you could say,
- 14:46listen, I do have, you know, four or five hours of learning.
- 14:49Actually, it was more than that that I'm taking away, number
- 14:51one, OK, I can understand. Fine, that's fine #2 I will be
- 14:56by the burial instead. Something it seems like that
- 15:00like the going would be the better thing to also it's it's
- 15:03an effort and but it's taking away from other things that you
- 15:07could be doing with that time and the hoot of you know of
- 15:09right. You can change precinct.
- 15:11Or you put the shoe on the other foot, right You stands out in
- 15:15your mind when you when you went through it, who was there?
- 15:19Oh, so there's the thing. The reason, exactly the reason I
- 15:22ended up going is because I thought to myself, one second
- 15:26I'm thinking about, let's see, 5-6 hours of total, right?
- 15:30This is my 10th grade teacher. He for me, in reality, he was
- 15:35one of the most influential rabbits step by step through
- 15:37high school. Everyone had a very big impact.
- 15:39And he was the one who gave me a some sense of clarity.
- 15:43He's very smart and very deep and also very, very clear.
- 15:46And it was a very beautiful mix. So one second a year of learning
- 15:51impacting so far over 20 years of learning and I'm waiting a
- 15:56few hours. Am I out of my mind?
- 15:57Doesn't make any sense. It's a silly conversation,
- 15:59right? But you have to go through that
- 16:02and you have to process it and you have to figure out what's
- 16:05right from wrong. I definitely believe after the
- 16:07fact I made the right decision. Aside from the fact that I'm
- 16:09paying respects. Also the impact of the speeches
- 16:11and the mindset and the perspective was very impactful,
- 16:14impactful. But the reality is you need to
- 16:17weigh that. And some people, if you ask
- 16:19them, I'll give you another example.
- 16:21There's a friend of mine that's involved right now and a little
- 16:23bit of an issue in his business, in his job, OK, And he asked two
- 16:27types of people advice. One person told him there's
- 16:31other people that are upset at you, that are getting nervous at
- 16:33you. They're wrong.
- 16:35Don't listen to them, Take the sensitive, they're wrong.
- 16:38And yes, by the way, relatively prominent people, one person
- 16:42told them that. Another person told them you're
- 16:45dealing with life and death, you're hurting other people.
- 16:48You better be careful. You better watch what you do and
- 16:50try to figure out as best as you can, OK?
- 16:52These are the two sides of the coin.
- 16:55When I heard the first opinion, I was very bothered.
- 16:59I was a very positive because this friend of mine was asking
- 17:02me what I think. I was very positive because
- 17:03someone gave them their opinion as if they're coming based on
- 17:06Twitter oriented opinion and they're giving very dangerous
- 17:09information. They're telling a person to just
- 17:11go on, continue hurting people, continue impacting people on
- 17:14negative light. You're not doing anything wrong
- 17:16because anything is doing the right thing.
- 17:18And I said to myself, where is that balance?
- 17:20Where's the understanding of me thoughts?
- 17:22Where's their recognition? They don't just, you know,
- 17:25charge on and hurt people in the process.
- 17:28Just drive right through people. You have to recognize it is if
- 17:30there's a constant over here, there's a very delicate people
- 17:34and delicate situations and it requires a lot of weighing.
- 17:36And by the way, if you're right in the fact that you should
- 17:39continue going, maybe you're right.
- 17:40Don't just say it flippantly. Think about it, weigh you, talk
- 17:44about other people. And my friend actually went to
- 17:45his boss. He's involved in a certain job.
- 17:48He went to his boss and he said, you're telling me just to go on,
- 17:51go on. And just it's OK.
- 17:53I'm telling you right now, we're hurting another person.
- 17:55If you continue this, it's life and death.
- 17:57And I do not feel comfortable going on unless the situation is
- 18:00settled. And I told him, bravo, it's the
- 18:02right thing. Even though my friend was in a
- 18:03certain sense hurting his own job a little bit in the process
- 18:07because he's, he's very successful in his job and, and,
- 18:10and, and therefore he's hurting somebody else.
- 18:12But the right thing is to do is go figure things out.
- 18:15Recognize that there's a balance.
- 18:17Recognize there are a lot of things going on and 1st needs to
- 18:20weigh it properly. Go ahead.
- 18:23The only way to do this is to have a foundation of, you know,
- 18:28of clarity of, of a moral compass 100.
- 18:30Percent, 100%. A person can't just say I'm
- 18:34always going to do the right thing.
- 18:35You don't know what the right thing is right.
- 18:37A lot of times the right thing we said is something to be
- 18:39aggressive. It's also, like I said, I said
- 18:41it could be a very dangerous, very dangerous thing.
- 18:43You think you're doing something good for somebody and you're
- 18:47you're now, you know, like, oh, let me let me help this guy in
- 18:50business. And, you know, it's very simple
- 18:52and you know, I'm sure you've all been in that situation where
- 18:54you have to it's very easy to just write a check.
- 18:57Sometimes it's not the right thing to do for the person is
- 18:59better off maybe figuring it out and having to, you know, and
- 19:02it's a very difficult thing to do.
- 19:04But but he said, is are you really helping somebody or you
- 19:08just, is that the easy way out? Absolutely the same makeup, same
- 19:12makeup, which is when it comes to Hasid, we are always not sure
- 19:17you have a give you a classic, you have a very difficult guy.
- 19:21It's an extreme case. Difficult guy is married and
- 19:24he's very difficult to his wife and you're a has a person.
- 19:28So you keeping the marriage together, which in a sense is a
- 19:30great thing, but she's being abused now.
- 19:33It's the right thing. They got to figure it out right.
- 19:36And sometimes I'll give you a classic exam.
- 19:39I follow up, I show them was involved in a couple of of those
- 19:43original major divorce complicated cases, aguna cases.
- 19:48He's very involved in them. And in fact he got up once a
- 19:52bunch among a bunch of rabbis and he made like made a stance
- 19:55and he said no one's doing anything about this and it's
- 19:57bothering me. Fine.
- 19:58He was very involved and people at the time were there was some
- 20:03people saying, you know, there's too much being out there being
- 20:07pro divorce. And if I was the last person, he
- 20:09proved the divorce last person. But this woman was being abused,
- 20:12literally being abused, and he was trying to save her life.
- 20:15And people had this stance. And I remember thinking to
- 20:17myself at the time, these guys out of their mind, they don't
- 20:19know the first thing was going on.
- 20:21They they're allowing a woman to go through torture just because
- 20:25they think that they are pro, you know, peace.
- 20:28They don't know what pizzas deep.
- 20:29By the way, just FYI, these peace Nicks.
- 20:32There's the biggest fighters out there in that situation.
- 20:34Literally annotation. The biggest fighters out there
- 20:36were those who were making peace.
- 20:38They would make problems left and right, but they decided to
- 20:40know what pieces. It's literally Mike.
- 20:43It's it's a representation of what we're learning right now.
- 20:45And you're right. You need to have that compass.
- 20:47You need to know what's right and what's wrong.
- 20:49That's it is a perfect example. It's just a.
- 20:52Terrible does. Divorce is hated by God.
- 20:54Who said that it's common? It's a pro, So no, it could be.
- 20:57Of course, divorce is a very big challenge.
- 20:59We know it's a big issue. We know that we always fight
- 21:02tooth and nail to make sure. My father created an
- 21:05organization should go with Harmony for Shalom.
- 21:07By it I mean he was heavily involved while he was the main
- 21:10rabbi involved in making peace. But in that situation, any smart
- 21:14person who could tell a woman's being abused, time to get this
- 21:16out right? So this is a process called
- 21:19having the level of balance and understanding of right from
- 21:22wrong. Seem literally the same point as
- 21:24you're saying about Khasid. You give a person charity and
- 21:27the guys has a drug addiction. Getting a charity, you're
- 21:30feeding a problem. You find out that he's able to
- 21:33control himself. You find out that the money is
- 21:35not going through those things. Then you get involved.
- 21:37That's called an understanding of balance.
- 21:39And this is really what a person has to realize for the good, for
- 21:42the soft, and sometimes for the tough and the strong.
- 21:45Same, literally the same mentality to have the balance.
- 21:48And the best way to do it is if a person has a yachamayim.
- 21:51Now again, yachamayim is a very vague word.
- 21:55We don't really know what it means, fear of heaven, but it
- 21:58really means as a compass, some degree of a compass stronger
- 22:02than just my own mind driving myself.
- 22:05Because my mind is guided by my heart, is guided by my feelings,
- 22:09is guided by my emotions, and very often guided by my ego,
- 22:13whether I know it or not, or my interest in having a certain
- 22:16outcome. You never see certain people get
- 22:18involved in an organization. It's not a bad thing, it's a
- 22:20good thing. They get involved in
- 22:21organizations for the sake of their child, which means they
- 22:24had a child that was 7 years old and there was no good school for
- 22:31that kind of kid. So they open up a school,
- 22:33literally open up a school. So what is that?
- 22:36And Hashem, the outcome is great.
- 22:37What is that? Is that a personal intuition?
- 22:40Is that a personal interest? Is that an understanding of a
- 22:44need? Because they have that child?
- 22:46What is that? We don't know what that is, but
- 22:48that could be a combination of all those things.
- 22:50Now, a lot of times that creates good.
- 22:52A lot of times it does. But a person there realizes I am
- 22:55motivated by my own personal motive somewhat, and that's
- 22:58perfectly fine because overall they're creating a good thing
- 23:00for the world. It's a fine one, absolutely
- 23:03major line and it's very much, I'm sorry, very.
- 23:05Line it's crystal clear 99.9% yeah guy helps daughter shul why
- 23:10it's close to his house right or whatever reason and.
- 23:13That's not in that scanning, no, by the way, that's not a bad
- 23:16thing. You're right, but it's not a bad
- 23:18thing. It was understanding that I have
- 23:20a personal motive. I have a little bit of a, I'm
- 23:23selfish in a sense. I I like for myself.
- 23:26It's not a bad thing at all. And sometimes it creates good,
- 23:28but you see from that, you see from that, that a lot of good
- 23:31things that are a lot of people doing good out there have their
- 23:34own personal motives. And once you see that, you're
- 23:37conscious of motives and that's where you got your mind comes
- 23:39back in. You got your mind comes back in
- 23:41and says, now you wait, is it the right thing or is the wrong
- 23:45thing whatever you're doing your life?
- 23:47Is it the right thing or the wrong thing?
- 23:48If you take that second step, you still won't always know.
- 23:52You can never be fully sure of ourselves right from wrong.
- 23:55We need to have some help from my sham for sure.
- 23:58I'll figure it out. We need to have advice on our
- 24:00parents. We need people with some
- 24:02background. We need to have an understanding
- 24:03right from wrong. But at least we're trying.
- 24:06So motive is OK or no? Motive is definitely OK.
- 24:09Drives the world. Motives.
- 24:11Who drives the whole world? You look at things that are
- 24:13created, most of them are built on motives.
- 24:16She votes right, 100%, yeah. Good or bad?
- 24:21It definitely drives the world. Is she vote tools organizations,
- 24:26I said all these things combination.
- 24:28I'll give you a classic example right I mean we this is shoes an
- 24:32example. I'll give you an example right
- 24:35that's all I remember It's one of the most beautiful existence
- 24:38in the world all right more sense they get up there they
- 24:42leave their house 4 in the morning all the time They don't
- 24:45have a normal holiday normal Shabbat.
- 24:47They're ready to go on it when it's wild what they are Javerim,
- 24:52a certain sense. Same thing, all these different
- 24:53things, right? Different levels.
- 24:55But I don't know about it yet. I know growing up, because a lot
- 24:59of my friends became Hatsala guys, a certain type, the makeup
- 25:02of a Hatsala guy, especially in Ashana's world, a guy you can
- 25:06define that kid is a future Hatsala guy.
- 25:09What does that mean? It means that it's seven years
- 25:11old. He has a radio, right?
- 25:13It means he's he's excited about things and, and, and, and Ashley
- 25:17has to use the term Mahara. He's like a busy guy, right?
- 25:21That means he likes that. He's not, he likes action.
- 25:23He's not sitting down. He's not the type that wants to
- 25:26sit through something. He probably wasn't so in the
- 25:29mood for all his classes. He had a certain type.
- 25:31He fixed things for his rabbi. He took care of things.
- 25:34He organized the parties. He's a type and that's not a bad
- 25:38thing. He channeled the video.
- 25:40That is a motive. And that's, that's, that's how
- 25:42it works. His drive that's being channeled
- 25:44and that's a motive. That's perfectly fine.
- 25:46God created a need out there for these members.
- 25:49These are some members and they are saving the world.
- 25:51These people, they're unbelievable.
- 25:52And the same thing you shoot in so many different areas.
- 25:55You have a drive and use it for the good, but it's only proper.
- 25:59Once a person has an understanding of a compass.
- 26:02That's the whole point. Go ahead.
- 26:03All right, that's the idea. I tell the members, rabbis
- 26:07learning all these different things, you have a drive they
- 26:11need to understand. Same drive the good and bad,
- 26:13right? Sure.
- 26:14Same drives like the Star Wars. It's the the Force.
- 26:16Exactly the force. That you want to talk about,
- 26:19Yes, the question you got me, of course.
- 26:22I know the force with you. I've been there and.
- 26:25It's good or it's the same drive.
- 26:27It's it can be used for good, can be used for bad.
- 26:28In fact, the next barrack of which I will do tomorrow is
- 26:31literally that he says all good on me dot good and bad.
- 26:34A great person can use them for good and an evil person use them
- 26:38for bad. You look at anything that you
- 26:40know that has created the world. The idea that you know, dynamite
- 26:46and all these different things I use for weapons and also use to
- 26:51build all all engines and all, all energies and all forces out
- 26:55there in the world are used to build and I used to destroy.
- 26:58Money is the greatest thing in the world and the worst thing in
- 27:01the world. You name what we have in the
- 27:02world they use for greatness and use for terrible things.
- 27:05And the main defining factor is now once you have bad people
- 27:09involved, that already money is the word.
- 27:11But if you have good people and you want to know right from
- 27:14wrong, the compass is the key, the balance is the key.
- 27:17Never just jump in and say it's the right thing or jump and say
- 27:20it's the wrong thing. Stop and think overall, is this
- 27:23what God wants? Is this what I should be doing,
- 27:26should be getting involved in? I mean, so many examples of
- 27:29people that get involved in community work that are taken
- 27:31away from their family. So many people who are maybe too
- 27:34friendly oriented, family oriented, and don't really care
- 27:36about the overall community. This is a major, major, endless
- 27:39thing that a person has to figure out the right from wrong,
- 27:42right? Yeah, That's that's.
- 27:44That's that's. How easy you'll see once you
- 27:49focus on having a compass, you end up overtime finding the
- 27:53right thing. And usually you find some on the
- 27:55right side of of most situations.
- 27:57And you say yourself, I see that situation and I see how they got
- 28:00involved. I could tell why it's wrong and
- 28:02you could see exceed from a distance.
- 28:04That's that's what happens to accomplice.
- 28:06Usually we'll stop with this.
