- 0:15Speaker 2: Whistles Swinging Wine.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Hello, welcome, coming up Jim Edmonds, Cardinals Hall of Famer,
- 0:23Speaker 1: one of the most dynamic centerfielders. I've ever seen him
- 0:25Speaker 1: my whole life. I hated him, then I loved him,
- 0:27Speaker 1: Then I loved him.
- 0:27Speaker 4: That's the order.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Oh oh, hated him first?
- 0:30Speaker 1: No, actually I was amazed while I'm as an angel,
- 0:32Speaker 1: then hated him as a cardinal, then loved him as
- 0:34Speaker 1: a cub.
- 0:34Speaker 4: Then now it's just awesome. Bo, we're here. We went
- 0:38Speaker 4: to his house.
- 0:39Speaker 3: I want to blow a whistle.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Hit it.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Let's go, and Eddie sent me the dumbest what they
- 0:46Speaker 1: call show prep in the history of this show. Show
- 0:48Speaker 1: prep is that we will get to that first. Let's
- 0:51Speaker 1: do the tittle tattle. Dude's time stupid? His name ever?
- 0:56Speaker 4: The tittle tattle?
- 0:57Speaker 1: Get up?
- 0:58Speaker 2: The kind of.
- 1:01Speaker 5: After our visit to the Bush Stadium last weekend, where
- 1:04Speaker 5: do you rank the stadium in your stadium power rankings?
- 1:07Speaker 6: Now?
- 1:07Speaker 4: Is it stadiums? I've just been to our stadiums that
- 1:10Speaker 4: we've been.
- 1:10Speaker 1: To as a group that we've had extra access just
- 1:12Speaker 1: to baseball stadium well, regular is number one. Yeah, overall,
- 1:16Speaker 1: I'm just going. I mean, Wrigley is awesome, and I'm
- 1:18Speaker 1: a Cubs fan.
- 1:19Speaker 3: So we've been to Fenway m hm regularly.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Fenway.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Fenway is awesome.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Just because it's old and even if it's not old,
- 1:32Speaker 1: it still looks like it did when it was old.
- 1:34Speaker 3: And when you see the monster with your own eyes, like,
- 1:36Speaker 3: that's pretty crazy. It's cool.
- 1:38Speaker 4: But I think bush stadiums in baseball stadiums three.
- 1:45Speaker 1: But I'm thinking of other ones I've been to. I've
- 1:47Speaker 1: been to been to New Kamiski, I've been a New Yankee.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Have you been to the Pittsburgh I've been to the
- 1:54Speaker 1: No back when it was three Rivers. No, haven't.
- 1:58Speaker 4: I've probably been like twelve baseball stadiums.
- 2:00Speaker 7: Peco Park in inan Diego. Very underrated. I swear, do
- 2:03Speaker 7: you that have stadium is.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Awesome, really awesome.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna put it at.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Three on a baseball stadium.
- 2:08Speaker 1: That's the only thing that's cool about Yankee Stadium now
- 2:12Speaker 1: is that you get off the subway and it's just
- 2:14Speaker 1: right there.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Awesome.
- 2:15Speaker 1: It is awesome, Like you come right out of the
- 2:17Speaker 1: hole and it's like a Yankee stadium, and.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Then when you go to the game, you're in there
- 2:21Speaker 3: with a bunch of fans, Like the whole subway is
- 2:23Speaker 3: packed with a bunch of Yankee fans.
- 2:25Speaker 1: That part's cool. I'm not a Yankee fan, and what
- 2:27Speaker 1: I could respect. I'm more of just a National League
- 2:30Speaker 1: guy anyway, because I was this National League him a
- 2:32Speaker 1: whole life interesting National League. Yeah, I've been down to
- 2:34Speaker 1: the breaks.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Yeah, oh cool, but I'm gonna put Bush.
- 2:39Speaker 7: What about came tow yards Baltimore?
- 2:41Speaker 3: Never been there?
- 2:43Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Looks cool.
- 2:44Speaker 4: They've been to Baltimore.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Yeah, we spend the night in Baltimore one night. I
- 2:50Speaker 3: know that because justin the suit went to the casino there.
- 2:52Speaker 3: But that's it like touring and we just stayed there.
- 2:55Speaker 3: I think we were flying out of Baltimore the next morning,
- 2:57Speaker 3: so we stayed.
- 2:58Speaker 1: I've been to the Baltimore airport.
- 2:59Speaker 4: Does that count though?
- 3:00Speaker 7: When you yeah, like a layover.
- 3:04Speaker 1: We just had to stay the night in hotel, like
- 3:05Speaker 1: we probably did a show in DC. It can only
- 3:07Speaker 1: get a Baltimore flight. So then we went and no,
- 3:10Speaker 1: it doesn't count.
- 3:11Speaker 4: I'm Bush at three.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:13Speaker 1: It's hard for me to do because I I didn't
- 3:15Speaker 1: even hate the Cardinals. I just grew up hating the Cardinals.
- 3:17Speaker 1: I'm an adult man now. Those people are just athletes
- 3:20Speaker 1: that are either drafted or highed by the Cardinals. But right,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and I have to tell myself that sometimes. But yeah,
- 3:27Speaker 1: Bush is really it's the new Bush Stadium.
- 3:29Speaker 4: But it's really cool. And maybe it's just cool because
- 3:31Speaker 4: we got to go, but it was awesome.
- 3:33Speaker 3: So that's Bush three? Is that what I was reading? Yea,
- 3:35Speaker 3: it was Bush three? It was Bush one.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Bush two is the last one they shut down. No, No,
- 3:40Speaker 1: that's that's a different Bush. It's h w h Yeah
- 3:43Speaker 1: that's true too.
- 3:45Speaker 3: This is named after the Bush.
- 3:46Speaker 4: What's the coolest football stadium ever been to?
- 3:48Speaker 2: You know? Oh?
- 3:50Speaker 4: Good man, I think you have to pull your personal out.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Okay, all right, that's gonna be tough because.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I would say my favorite place on Earth is Reynolds
- 3:58Speaker 1: Razorback Stadium. But I wasn't even thinking that, so you
- 4:00Speaker 1: can't use it. I think out in front of the
- 4:05Speaker 1: stadium in Tuscaloosa where they have the trophies or the trophies,
- 4:09Speaker 1: the statues of everybody who won a national championship.
- 4:11Speaker 4: That's freaking cool.
- 4:14Speaker 1: And when they walk down during Sweden Alabama that's pretty cool.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Stadium is big, that's really cool. Like Alabama's the environment's
- 4:23Speaker 1: really neat. You know, Oklahoma they have statues of their
- 4:26Speaker 1: Heisman winners. They are a lot of Heisman winners. Kind
- 4:30Speaker 1: of bizarre. I mean Heisman winners Oklahoma has, but Alabama
- 4:36Speaker 1: really cool.
- 4:37Speaker 3: We went to Death Valley that was called cool lsu
- 4:41Speaker 3: mm hmm. That was really cool.
- 4:42Speaker 4: But you didn't watch a game.
- 4:43Speaker 3: There were the first show.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Yeah, the game.
- 4:46Speaker 4: There's the games that are really loud. I mean they're
- 4:48Speaker 4: but I don't know that I like that stadium.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I feel like it's just crazy because everybody's drunk and
- 4:54Speaker 1: it's Baton rouge.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Yeah, and the Jambalaya it's purple Soldier Fields.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Super cool when you drive by it on the interstate
- 5:02Speaker 1: and then you go and you get in it and
- 5:03Speaker 1: you're like, huh.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Well, what's the hunt.
- 5:06Speaker 4: It's just kind of old.
- 5:07Speaker 7: I don't know, yeah, like you feel the old if it's.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Old, and like they left some of like the personalized
- 5:16Speaker 1: old or like the but I don't feel like Soldier
- 5:18Speaker 1: Field really has that charm of something old.
- 5:22Speaker 4: It just is kind of sucky.
- 5:24Speaker 1: And maybe because I'm not a Bears fan, because when
- 5:26Speaker 1: regular before they started new it was as a dog
- 5:28Speaker 1: crab stadium, but it was the best.
- 5:30Speaker 3: It's weird because outside of the stadium it kind of
- 5:32Speaker 3: looks like a Supreme Court house. It does, right, Yeah,
- 5:35Speaker 3: columns and really yeah Soldier, yeah, Soldier.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:40Speaker 1: The Cowboy Stadium is good though it is, it just
- 5:42Speaker 1: feels pretty clinical.
- 5:44Speaker 4: Did you clean and new screens everywhere?
- 5:46Speaker 7: Have you been to Kneel?
- 5:50Speaker 3: Oh? No, No, that's cool. I mean he's a big fan.
- 5:52Speaker 7: I'm just saying I'm taking my bias out. Don't worry.
- 5:55Speaker 5: But it's still really but it's on the river like
- 5:58Speaker 5: it's awesome.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Did you ever go to the Astronome? Yes?
- 6:01Speaker 1: No, no, but I went to the astros I went
- 6:04Speaker 1: to in Ron when it was in the same state.
- 6:07Speaker 4: He changed the name Ron and then it went to
- 6:10Speaker 4: minute Mad.
- 6:11Speaker 7: Oh yeah, then Ron, what is that?
- 6:13Speaker 1: And Ron was a company that liked the big scam
- 6:15Speaker 1: that oh people had billions of dollars.
- 6:17Speaker 7: It sounds like an oil company.
- 6:19Speaker 3: There was an oil company was.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Really something like that okay, but unfair to ask me
- 6:22Speaker 1: that question because I picked my personal team's number one
- 6:25Speaker 1: and then recent teams number two, so it's a tough
- 6:27Speaker 1: question to answer.
- 6:28Speaker 5: Ahead it was some big names still remaining. Who was
- 6:30Speaker 5: the biggest NFL freed in surprise still available?
- 6:33Speaker 1: You know, running backs don't really surprised me because it
- 6:35Speaker 1: does feel like you us guy have been Neill running
- 6:37Speaker 1: back off the heap, and they do okay unless they
- 6:42Speaker 1: are extremely dynamic. But in the running back world, Dalvin Cook,
- 6:46Speaker 1: but he didn't really do much with the Jets, but
- 6:48Speaker 1: they didn't really give him a lot of opportunity to.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Do much with the Jets. But also the Jets didn't
- 6:52Speaker 4: do much.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Cam Akers is not with the team right now. Kareem
- 6:57Speaker 1: Hunt not with the team, and he came back to
- 7:00Speaker 1: Cleveland for a minute.
- 7:02Speaker 7: Didn't he at the very end?
- 7:03Speaker 4: Yeah, like he's like, hey, what's up, Hey, Kareem's bad?
- 7:06Speaker 4: All season's over?
- 7:07Speaker 7: Yeah, Yeah, got hurt?
- 7:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Hunter renfro Man, that guy like dominated receiver. Yeah, and
- 7:15Speaker 1: then just dropped off crazy and you'd see tiktoks with
- 7:18Speaker 1: these other receivers or even dB would be like that
- 7:20Speaker 1: dude's a dog. Hunter Renfro that dog's for and then
- 7:24Speaker 1: it was like as soon as I drafted in my
- 7:25Speaker 1: fantasy and he sucked.
- 7:27Speaker 3: He's a little guy, right, relative little guy, No, no, no,
- 7:31Speaker 3: I think he's like smaller than most receivers. Yeah, he's
- 7:34Speaker 3: also white, so it makes him look slow and automatically.
- 7:37Speaker 4: I just if you're on wire receiver, you just look like.
- 7:41Speaker 1: The Packers lineman that went to Aaron Rodgers' wedding. Bakatiari.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I guess I'm surprised he's still a free agent. Those
- 7:48Speaker 1: lineman positions are in need unless he just isn't good anymore.
- 7:54Speaker 1: But I don't know there's a big wide receiver that
- 7:57Speaker 1: I think or even a play.
- 7:58Speaker 4: I mean, uh, Michael to.
- 8:01Speaker 7: Talk about dropping off big time, but he got hurt.
- 8:04Speaker 3: It was awesome for a bit.
- 8:05Speaker 4: He got hurt and then came back and he's supposed
- 8:06Speaker 4: to have a decent year last year.
- 8:08Speaker 7: But again then he got like weird.
- 8:09Speaker 5: He got in trouble and did some weird on field
- 8:11Speaker 5: stuff in practice.
- 8:13Speaker 4: So I don't know there's anybody that I'm screaming.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I'm surprised that they're a free agent right now, but
- 8:18Speaker 1: I am ready for some freaking football now like I'm
- 8:21Speaker 1: ready almost there? Yeah, what else you got?
- 8:23Speaker 2: All right?
- 8:23Speaker 5: Going to basketball here? Which dominant duo has impressed you
- 8:26Speaker 5: more in the conference finals? Tatum and Brown or Luca
- 8:29Speaker 5: and Kyrie?
- 8:30Speaker 3: This is easy.
- 8:30Speaker 1: It's Luke and Kyrie. Okay, don't ask the question if
- 8:33Speaker 1: you don't want the answer. Sorry, I didn't say that
- 8:36Speaker 1: loud it you did. Tatum has scored thirty points twice.
- 8:40Speaker 1: One of those, though, was in like the fifth overtime
- 8:43Speaker 1: when all he had to.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Do was make it like a lay up a day
- 8:45Speaker 4: and he made He got thirty points. But I'm not
- 8:47Speaker 4: even hating.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Uh.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Jalen had forty points in a game. Pretty cool.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I guess that the expectation is just there because they're
- 8:54Speaker 1: playing the junior highs. I think we could score thirty
- 8:57Speaker 1: a game.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Stop. Don't say stuff over on the East. That's not
- 9:00Speaker 3: fair with the booter without.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Luke and Kyrie are legit. And you know what, after
- 9:06Speaker 4: they score game.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Winners the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth time in
- 9:09Speaker 1: the past twenty five games, it's not lucky anymore.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Be honest, though, I think Kyrie is shining more than Luca.
- 9:14Speaker 3: LUKEA is just coming up at that right time to
- 9:16Speaker 3: hit those shots that they need.
- 9:18Speaker 1: They're complimenting each other. Well, there is nobody as fast
- 9:21Speaker 1: as Kyrie with the ball on a break.
- 9:23Speaker 3: There's nobody.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I mean, I'm gonna go Luke and Kyrie because the
- 9:27Speaker 1: expectation wasn't there. And also they're playing better teams. Again,
- 9:31Speaker 1: the Celtics have beat us, that's why they went four.
- 9:35Speaker 1: They've lost two games in three series.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Right then they go four to one, four oh, four
- 9:39Speaker 4: to one. H Yeah, they played us.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Do you think you guys can win? Do you think yeah,
- 9:45Speaker 1: you think you'll Yeah. By the way, I was wrong.
- 9:48Speaker 4: You guys are gonna be the favorite.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Over over Dallas.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I have figured Dallas would be. It was pretty close,
- 9:55Speaker 1: but Detroit was the favorite. What's what's all that is?
- 10:00Speaker 1: It is a game four tonight? Yes, okay, so Celtic
- 10:04Speaker 1: Alardy won.
- 10:04Speaker 3: There, Detroit was the favorite. Sorry, not Detroit, Dallas, thank you.
- 10:10Speaker 3: It was like Detroit the worst team in the NBA.
- 10:14Speaker 3: They finish the worst two years in a row.
- 10:17Speaker 1: The D man, I'm fascinated with the D. My point
- 10:22Speaker 1: is I think I've forgotten point. Yeah, I have to
- 10:25Speaker 1: move on because I had a good point and now
- 10:27Speaker 1: I forgot the point.
- 10:28Speaker 4: All right, next question, all.
- 10:29Speaker 5: Right, last one here, speaking of the Celtics after two
- 10:32Speaker 5: come from behind wins, Now, do you believe their inability
- 10:35Speaker 5: to close close games is over?
- 10:39Speaker 1: I believe that the teams they've been playing haven't been
- 10:41Speaker 1: able to close games. I'm not a hater.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Look who they're playing against, don't I know?
- 10:45Speaker 7: All season they've been the best team in the NBA.
- 10:48Speaker 4: But they're playing Eastern Conference teams they're playing.
- 10:51Speaker 1: For the most part, I'm not a hater of the Celtics.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I'm not a Celtic hater. And if they win, good
- 10:55Speaker 1: for them. They deserve to win. They've been close many times.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I'm not gonna better them to win.
- 11:00Speaker 4: As matter of fact, I bet Minnesota to come back.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Oh that was a great bet, dude, I did.
- 11:05Speaker 4: I put fifty bucks on the Timberwolve to come back
- 11:07Speaker 4: out three.
- 11:07Speaker 8: Uh.
- 11:08Speaker 4: I mean then he went four in a row. But
- 11:09Speaker 4: fifty bucks makes.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Five to fifty and anything is possible. Yeah, it's except
- 11:13Speaker 3: that's never happened before.
- 11:14Speaker 4: I think it has a baseball red's obviously, that's right.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I think that the Pacers and a twenty six year
- 11:24Speaker 1: old Jason Tatum is starting to mature into the player
- 11:26Speaker 1: he is. And I think that also they're able to
- 11:28Speaker 1: close games. They're just better than the teams they're playing.
- 11:32Speaker 1: And I think that there's such a disparity in the
- 11:35Speaker 1: Celtics versus the Pacers, especially without a Halliburton.
- 11:39Speaker 4: When nim Hart is your guy.
- 11:42Speaker 7: He looked good, he did look good.
- 11:43Speaker 1: But they had nobody else when because before the Pacers
- 11:47Speaker 1: it was the.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Knicks, whenever Cabs. I'm sorry, even worse, yeah, even worse.
- 11:55Speaker 4: They don't have it. There's nobody but Celtics.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Missing prisingis, but Porzingis was the adding Chris Bosh to
- 12:04Speaker 1: an already awesome team with and it didn't This wasn't
- 12:07Speaker 1: the order but Lebron. It's like Lebron and Waite and
- 12:09Speaker 1: you ad Bosh. Bosh was going, You're not like, well
- 12:10Speaker 1: we suck now, You're like, dang it. Imagine if we
- 12:12Speaker 1: had Posh.
- 12:13Speaker 7: I agree. I mean, obviously yeah, they had the advantage,
- 12:16Speaker 7: but I'm just saying it's gonna.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Be like one quarter and grab his hip. And I
- 12:19Speaker 1: kind of.
- 12:19Speaker 5: Wanted it didn't play a little bit, just because that's
- 12:21Speaker 5: such a long time off to come back into the finals.
- 12:24Speaker 4: This is what I was gonna say, listen to this.
- 12:26Speaker 1: This system is broken because if it goes four to
- 12:29Speaker 1: oh tonight, there's not another game till sixth. Yeah, and
- 12:31Speaker 1: they won't start the series hardly. They're just waiting until
- 12:35Speaker 1: sixth and.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Everybody's just chilling.
- 12:36Speaker 3: I mean, they can't let that happen.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Basically, like you take a vacation, maybe the twenty ninth, thirtieth,
- 12:40Speaker 1: thirty first, first, second, third, fourth, fifth, it's like nine days.
- 12:44Speaker 1: So that's why the refs are really going to push
- 12:48Speaker 1: toward a Minnesota win.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I agree with that conspiracy.
- 12:51Speaker 4: That's why I do a little money.
- 12:52Speaker 3: And that's why you're scratching on that. It's pretty good.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Fifty Yeah, it's kind of been a boring, yeah.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Final four, very stressed Conference Finals.
- 13:03Speaker 1: We were getting off the flight Game two Dallas Minnesota,
- 13:07Speaker 1: and it was right in the last ten seconds or
- 13:09Speaker 1: so of the game and Eddie walks his car and
- 13:12Speaker 1: Minnesota pretty much soda up. I turned on to put
- 13:15Speaker 1: it on the ESPN and do the old I watch
- 13:17Speaker 1: it on ESPN, and that was the Luca Luca, Oh.
- 13:21Speaker 3: My god, so stupid, man.
- 13:24Speaker 4: I just I felt your pain.
- 13:25Speaker 3: So stupid. Oh I saw my bet go from like
- 13:29Speaker 3: a cash out of like fifty dollars down to like
- 13:32Speaker 3: twenty dollars. Now, I don't even think there's a cash out.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I would also like to say that I did say
- 13:37Speaker 1: Luca is the best player remaining whenever we picked us.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I did not jump on the let's go ahead and
- 13:42Speaker 1: declare and that dude, although he is that dude, he's
- 13:45Speaker 1: just getting a little tired.
- 13:47Speaker 7: His guests.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Get the guy a sleep number something, man, let him
- 13:51Speaker 4: take a.
- 13:52Speaker 5: Nap, sleep number dot com, slash bone, Yes, thank you.
- 13:55Speaker 4: All right, that's the tittle tattle. Get out.
- 14:06Speaker 1: We're gonna take a break and we'll come back and
- 14:07Speaker 1: we'll talk about our Saint Louis trip a little bit
- 14:10Speaker 1: and get into our interview with Jim Edmonds. Okay, so
- 14:16Speaker 1: before we get into our interview with Jim Edmonds, I
- 14:18Speaker 1: will say the Saint Louis too much access was I
- 14:21Speaker 1: do believe it's the most fun when we've ever shot.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Oh it's so much fun, dude, so much fun.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I don't know one that would have been more fun
- 14:29Speaker 1: as a participant. I don't know about you guys. You guys,
- 14:31Speaker 1: I mean Kevin's running the show. Read shooting everything. Yeah,
- 14:36Speaker 1: I don't know about you guys doing that, but my
- 14:38Speaker 1: part of it, I do think that was the most
- 14:40Speaker 1: fun one that we've ever done. But surrounding him with
- 14:43Speaker 1: going to Jim Edmond's house, with doing the podcast outside
- 14:45Speaker 1: the stadium, with going in the stadium, hanging out with
- 14:48Speaker 1: Paul Goldschmid who then we do a bit and I
- 14:51Speaker 1: have his bat and then he goes on a tear
- 14:53Speaker 1: all weekend.
- 14:54Speaker 4: Thank you, You're welcome. When, yes, you know, playing.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Eddie hurt his foot, Yes, all that fun stuff.
- 15:00Speaker 4: Well the foot thing wasn't fine.
- 15:02Speaker 2: No, it was not.
- 15:04Speaker 3: And going to the game afterwards, true, although it did
- 15:07Speaker 3: get happening, did.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Get rained down. All that to say, Mikey did not
- 15:11Speaker 1: get to.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Go no.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Level probably why I got hurt. Let's be real, level of.
- 15:17Speaker 4: One to ten ten.
- 15:18Speaker 1: All the pictures you guys supposedly looked amazing and I
- 15:21Speaker 1: wasn't there for any of it. I know, and I
- 15:23Speaker 1: felt bad for you, but really I was having so
- 15:26Speaker 1: much fun.
- 15:26Speaker 4: I didn't feel that I forgot to feel bad.
- 15:29Speaker 7: I feel like he has to completely forgot about It's fine.
- 15:31Speaker 1: We did, yeah, I mean before and after we remembered
- 15:35Speaker 1: you there's even like a picture of all four of
- 15:37Speaker 1: you guys.
- 15:38Speaker 9: We've never taken a group picture like that.
- 15:39Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it was awesome, good. It was like so legit. Really,
- 15:43Speaker 1: it was so legitimate. And we're not just saying that
- 15:45Speaker 1: because it was so legit.
- 15:46Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:47Speaker 1: But Eddie did like fracture a bone on the outside
- 15:51Speaker 1: of his foot.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:52Speaker 3: I didn't find out that I fractured it until was
- 15:54Speaker 3: that Saturday.
- 15:56Speaker 1: No, it started swelling Sunday. Sunday media took a shoe
- 15:59Speaker 1: off looking at base underneath the skin.
- 16:01Speaker 3: I knew something was wrong as soon as it happened,
- 16:02Speaker 3: because as soon as I jumped up and it landed
- 16:05Speaker 3: on the base, what happened was Bones. I'll break it
- 16:07Speaker 3: down for you, guys. Bone, I'm gonna give you the
- 16:08Speaker 3: real story. After Eddie tells you the lie, I'll tell
- 16:11Speaker 3: you the real story. Bones was throwing the ball to
- 16:13Speaker 3: me and I was at second I was playing second base.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Throws the ball at me. It's way overthrown, so I
- 16:18Speaker 3: stretched jump as high as I can stretch up. I
- 16:21Speaker 3: still miss the ball and on the way down, like
- 16:24Speaker 3: my toe my big toe side hits the corner of
- 16:27Speaker 3: the base and rolls my ankle over and I got
- 16:31Speaker 3: full body weight on my ankle.
- 16:33Speaker 1: And I'll tell you, by the way, it's nobody's fault
- 16:34Speaker 1: you hurt your foot. By the way it's made to
- 16:36Speaker 1: throw the ball high. It's just you coming down on
- 16:37Speaker 1: a bag. But that's not even the real story.
- 16:39Speaker 3: But go ahead, finish right anyway. So when I landed
- 16:42Speaker 3: full body weight, I can hear I heard a crunch.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Okay, your foot hitting the bag.
- 16:46Speaker 3: No, I'm not kidding, dude. I heard like a crunch,
- 16:48Speaker 3: and I was like, this is not good. But that
- 16:50Speaker 3: was early into us shooting. So we still played catch
- 16:55Speaker 3: for like another ten minutes there. We caught pop flies
- 16:57Speaker 3: for another twenty minutes out in the outfield like, and
- 17:00Speaker 3: then Bones goes, hey, lastly, let's race around the base.
- 17:03Speaker 3: And I was like, man, i' gonna be honest with you,
- 17:04Speaker 3: I don't think I can do that.
- 17:06Speaker 4: I said, I respect that, so we didn't.
- 17:09Speaker 3: So we didn't do it, and then I faked it
- 17:11Speaker 3: pretty good until we got to the like left the stadium.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Then once we left the stadium, like, dude, I can't walk.
- 17:16Speaker 3: This is this is hard.
- 17:17Speaker 1: But then he walked all during the game the whole time,
- 17:19Speaker 1: and he said, I got it better. So this is
- 17:21Speaker 1: what really happened. Eddie wasn't near the base where he
- 17:23Speaker 1: should have been, and even the coach hielled, Hey, there's
- 17:25Speaker 1: a base to Eddie get over to the base. So
- 17:27Speaker 1: where I threw it is where he should have been.
- 17:29Speaker 1: We were turning to you know, I guys do playing
- 17:30Speaker 1: infild so but it also it's just.
- 17:34Speaker 4: An age thing, man, when I get your age and.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Be careful to Yeah, next year, dude, you're gonna start
- 17:40Speaker 1: being careful nowt But we did go to Jim Edmond's
- 17:43Speaker 1: house the night before and got to his house.
- 17:47Speaker 4: They like going downstairs.
- 17:48Speaker 1: We go downstairs to his basement and there's like, I
- 17:51Speaker 1: don't know, arcade games, arcade bowling alleys, arcade games, bowling alley,
- 17:56Speaker 1: pop a shot, there's a batting cage. There was another
- 18:00Speaker 1: ballplayer who came over just to hit. Wasn't even set up.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Pretty awesome.
- 18:03Speaker 5: Yeah, just literally started hitting you just hear while we
- 18:06Speaker 5: were there, was getting hit.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it was great.
- 18:11Speaker 1: So I'm going to play this interview we do with
- 18:13Speaker 1: Jim Edmonds and the fact that he let us come
- 18:17Speaker 1: over and hung out with us so long and then
- 18:20Speaker 1: just kind of.
- 18:22Speaker 4: You know, let me.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Ask every question I ever had about that era in baseball.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Was super cool because I had a lot I could
- 18:29Speaker 1: have done another hour. I think he probably could have
- 18:31Speaker 1: another hour too, but they had a dinner to get to. Yes,
- 18:33Speaker 1: wait for that dinner, man, we'd probably still be interviewing
- 18:36Speaker 1: right now, right now.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Yeah, here he is Jim Edmonds.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Before we came over to your house, which, by the way,
- 18:41Speaker 1: this place is crazy. It's like a fantasy land for
- 18:43Speaker 1: sports fans, kids and me. I'm a mix of those two.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I'm like a hybrid kids sports fan. We stopped at
- 18:51Speaker 1: a card shop and we were in there. I have
- 18:53Speaker 1: I like sports memorabilia, but I over on a wall
- 18:56Speaker 1: I saw this and I bought it for twenty bucks
- 19:00Speaker 1: to Jim Edmonds bibblehead. So twenty fourteen, you were inducted
- 19:05Speaker 1: into the Cardinals Hall of Fame. Do you remember this
- 19:07Speaker 1: night when they gave way the Jim mmons bibble heads?
- 19:09Speaker 10: Yeah, because I had like five cases of him in
- 19:12Speaker 10: the back of my car.
- 19:15Speaker 2: What is it.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Let's say, we haven't opened it.
- 19:17Speaker 3: That's what I told Bobby to him, Like, don't you
- 19:18Speaker 3: think Jim has a bunch of these already?
- 19:20Speaker 1: Yeah, but it wasn't it. This wasn't about Jim Oh.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I was gonna make aim Bobby well.
- 19:24Speaker 1: This was this was about seeing it and going, oh
- 19:26Speaker 1: this is cool.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Here y go okay, hard to do one hand in that?
- 19:32Speaker 4: Yeah, it's not.
- 19:34Speaker 11: Does it look just like.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Jim at Oh?
- 19:36Speaker 2: I don't know. They never do.
- 19:38Speaker 1: It's like the statues they unveil in front of stadiums
- 19:41Speaker 1: and it's supposed to be Kobe and you're like, who
- 19:42Speaker 1: is that?
- 19:43Speaker 11: Nothing like Kobe.
- 19:46Speaker 2: It's got a neck brace on at this running into
- 19:48Speaker 2: the wall. Here it is bobbling. What does he look like?
- 19:52Speaker 1: Number fifteen?
- 19:53Speaker 2: It's kind of close.
- 19:54Speaker 3: I guess.
- 19:55Speaker 2: I guess you'd have to ask my wife. She would
- 19:56Speaker 2: be the judge.
- 19:57Speaker 1: But did you ever you ever go into because we
- 19:59Speaker 1: went to a car shop and got this? Did you
- 20:00Speaker 1: ever you ever go into a car shop and they're like,
- 20:01Speaker 1: holy crap, that's that's Jim.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Sometimes do you ever have to.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Sign everything that your face is on in there? No,
- 20:08Speaker 1: that's what I would if I were running it and you
- 20:09Speaker 1: walked up. Were you sign all this time?
- 20:11Speaker 10: It's kind of cool because you know, they're a pretty
- 20:13Speaker 10: respectful point. But when my son he's now eighteen. When
- 20:17Speaker 10: he was younger, he was obsessed with all that stuff,
- 20:19Speaker 10: and so I'd go in there and take him and
- 20:22Speaker 10: kind of just show him too that I was up there,
- 20:24Speaker 10: but all the guys are up there, and then they
- 20:26Speaker 10: would see me and they would be like, I'll give
- 20:28Speaker 10: him anything he wants.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Send a couple of pictures, Yeah, would you something?
- 20:32Speaker 1: Would was your son around? Like, did he understand? I
- 20:35Speaker 1: guess he was at that age where he like knew
- 20:37Speaker 1: what was going on right when you were playing still on.
- 20:38Speaker 10: Like he was he was he was born at the
- 20:41Speaker 10: end really, so yeah, so he got to he knows
- 20:44Speaker 10: everything about When I worked for the Cardinals, I was
- 20:46Speaker 10: this assistant to the president for Mozillac for a few
- 20:51Speaker 10: years and then COVID hit kind of messed all that
- 20:53Speaker 10: up like it did for all of us. But I
- 20:55Speaker 10: did that and TV, so I was able to go in,
- 20:58Speaker 10: bring him work in the dugout in the locker room,
- 21:03Speaker 10: batting practice and then batting practice over red shower and
- 21:05Speaker 10: go upstairs into the TV booth, and then covid hit
- 21:08Speaker 10: shut all that down, and then it was, you know,
- 21:10Speaker 10: never the same sense. So I just kept doing TV.
- 21:12Speaker 10: But you know, they're really good about families there, so
- 21:14Speaker 10: they let Landing in. They'll let him on the field
- 21:16Speaker 10: and shagfly balls or whatever. It's a little different when
- 21:19Speaker 10: you're not in there in there, so it's hard for
- 21:21Speaker 10: me to, like, you know, let him go on his own,
- 21:24Speaker 10: even though he's old enough and he knows everyone.
- 21:26Speaker 2: But yeah, it's that was kind of.
- 21:29Speaker 10: The whole idea for me still working, was to give
- 21:31Speaker 10: him that extra chance to be around it.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Does he understand how dynamic a player you were, or
- 21:38Speaker 1: does he just have to hear your stories and roll
- 21:39Speaker 1: his eyes.
- 21:40Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 21:41Speaker 2: I don't tell him anything. He will show me a bit.
- 21:43Speaker 10: He'll be like, hey, look when my friend sent me,
- 21:45Speaker 10: or hey look what I saw. Or he'll be like
- 21:48Speaker 10: such and such game was on this channel and I
- 21:51Speaker 10: saw you got two hits, but you struck out on
- 21:52Speaker 10: the fastball right down the middle.
- 21:54Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, I know that feels I was there. Yeah.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Do you see you in him when he plays ball? Now?
- 21:59Speaker 1: Can you see?
- 22:01Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 22:02Speaker 10: Except he's already faster than I was. He can he
- 22:05Speaker 10: runs the bases like a madman. It's it's weird because
- 22:08Speaker 10: he's a little bit shorter than I am. He's only
- 22:10Speaker 10: you know, he's going to be a senior. He's only
- 22:12Speaker 10: five nine, but he can fly and that's something I
- 22:15Speaker 10: never can do. I can never run. He doesn't have
- 22:17Speaker 10: my arm, but he's got the defense and the more
- 22:21Speaker 10: I Q probably his age than I did, and his
- 22:24Speaker 10: swing's getting pretty good.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Does he listen to you or do you give him
- 22:28Speaker 1: coaching or advice? Like what's the dynamic?
- 22:31Speaker 2: Because I'm like, you'll know the answer this one of
- 22:33Speaker 2: the just roll.
- 22:34Speaker 1: His eyes and go like, dad, come, want to know
- 22:35Speaker 1: what I'm doing.
- 22:36Speaker 2: It's a little bit of both, it really is.
- 22:38Speaker 10: It's weird because I wish he was here right now,
- 22:40Speaker 10: because like he'll talk about certain things and I'm like, yeah,
- 22:43Speaker 10: that's not kind of how it works. And then you know,
- 22:45Speaker 10: some days he'll say, hey, what do I need to
- 22:47Speaker 10: do here? So it is it's weird dynamic.
- 22:50Speaker 2: You know. I try to get him to do certain
- 22:52Speaker 2: things and he won't do it. He's like, yeah, yeah,
- 22:53Speaker 2: i'll do it. I'll do it, and he doesn't do it.
- 22:54Speaker 10: And then somebody else will give him the same idea,
- 22:57Speaker 10: like a coach told him to do something, or I
- 22:59Speaker 10: actually was struggling.
- 23:00Speaker 2: With him a little bit so I called Joe Madden.
- 23:02Speaker 10: Sure, you know Joe Madden is and he gave me
- 23:05Speaker 10: some ideas because he was my hitting coach since I
- 23:08Speaker 10: was eighteen. Yeah, he was our minor league hitting instructor
- 23:12Speaker 10: when I was in the Angels organization. Then when I
- 23:14Speaker 10: got to the big leagues, he was our hitting and
- 23:16Speaker 10: bench coach and then so and that was. So, that
- 23:19Speaker 10: was from time I was eighteen until time I was
- 23:22Speaker 10: twenty nine and so, and I used to take land
- 23:24Speaker 10: in when the Cubs had come into town to go
- 23:26Speaker 10: meet him and talk to him. But he gave me
- 23:27Speaker 10: some really good ideas, and Landon actually started listening to
- 23:30Speaker 10: those ideas.
- 23:31Speaker 2: You know.
- 23:32Speaker 10: They he's down here in the cage every day and
- 23:34Speaker 10: he'll sometimes hit himself into a struggle because you can
- 23:37Speaker 10: you can overhit, and yeah, it goes both ways.
- 23:40Speaker 1: When you got the call and so you go up
- 23:42Speaker 1: to the big leagues and the Angels, right, what's it
- 23:45Speaker 1: like day one in the locker room as somebody that
- 23:48Speaker 1: just got the call up.
- 23:50Speaker 10: I think my generation right at that era, like in
- 23:54Speaker 10: the early nineties, was the very first generation of ball
- 23:57Speaker 10: players where they allowed them to kind of get a
- 24:00Speaker 10: little bit of spring training familiar. I think before it
- 24:02Speaker 10: was like they really wanted you to like work for it, so.
- 24:06Speaker 2: It was a little bit better.
- 24:07Speaker 10: The call up was kind of one of those things
- 24:09Speaker 10: like you knew it was coming because I just hit
- 24:11Speaker 10: three hundred in Triple A. I kind of got the
- 24:13Speaker 10: word that it was going to happen, but had to
- 24:15Speaker 10: wait till the end of the season. And so I
- 24:17Speaker 10: flew from Vancouver to Detroit and walked in this old
- 24:21Speaker 10: stadium and walked out, put my clothes on, and they're like,
- 24:24Speaker 10: you're in the lineup.
- 24:25Speaker 2: So I walked down the tunnel.
- 24:26Speaker 10: And opened up into the dugout and I looked up
- 24:29Speaker 10: I was like, oh my gosh, like Tiger Stadium.
- 24:31Speaker 2: And so that was incredible.
- 24:33Speaker 10: And then going home for the first time, playing in
- 24:35Speaker 10: Anaheim a week later, being on that side of the
- 24:38Speaker 10: field and not looking down at the guys, looking back
- 24:40Speaker 10: up at the stands, it's just a it's a crazy,
- 24:43Speaker 10: crazy feeling. I think that you could probably have the
- 24:48Speaker 10: same feelings for when you're a kid watching people and
- 24:51Speaker 10: now you're doing the talking and the you know, the
- 24:54Speaker 10: shows and the gigs and all the stuff you do
- 24:56Speaker 10: looking down on the mass audience or looking up at
- 24:59Speaker 10: the audience, A totally different experience.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Do you remember who was on the mound the first
- 25:03Speaker 1: a bat you had in the majors?
- 25:05Speaker 10: I think it was Bill Gullickson and he was throwing
- 25:07Speaker 10: about eighty five and I swung through three fastballs right
- 25:09Speaker 10: down the middle, and then I went over three. And
- 25:13Speaker 10: then the next night I pinched hit against Dwayne Ward.
- 25:15Speaker 10: He was so ninety eight and I hit a ground
- 25:18Speaker 10: row double in Toronto. So crazy how it works.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Was there somebody that got hurt? Like when you got
- 25:23Speaker 1: your call?
- 25:23Speaker 2: Why was it?
- 25:24Speaker 1: Was it just we're going to move somebody down because
- 25:26Speaker 1: you were so hot, or was there something that happened
- 25:28Speaker 1: that we need somebody now, let's move Jim up.
- 25:31Speaker 10: It was the basic September call up. It was that
- 25:34Speaker 10: you got your year in triple A. Yeah, they'd get
- 25:36Speaker 10: the rosters back.
- 25:36Speaker 2: At the end of the day.
- 25:37Speaker 10: The rosters would go up to you could have forty guys.
- 25:40Speaker 10: The whole forty man could be up there. So they
- 25:42Speaker 10: would get up to like, you know, thirty thirty two guys,
- 25:45Speaker 10: and so me and another pitcher came up the same time.
- 25:47Speaker 10: A couple of guys got called up earlier in the year,
- 25:49Speaker 10: and so I came up. I played a little bit.
- 25:52Speaker 10: You may play every couple days or whatever. We were
- 25:54Speaker 10: out of it, so they let some of the kids play. Yeah,
- 25:58Speaker 10: And then the next year I went to spring training
- 26:00Speaker 10: and made the team.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Is the locker room warm to you when you first
- 26:03Speaker 3: get there or is yea or are they kind of
- 26:06Speaker 3: like do they want to set you straight a little
- 26:08Speaker 3: bit as the rookie.
- 26:08Speaker 10: It depends, you know, it depends on how you act.
- 26:11Speaker 10: They kind of you know, And that's why I'm saying
- 26:13Speaker 10: the good thing is now, I think since my era
- 26:15Speaker 10: and up, they've really got guys in spring training, got
- 26:19Speaker 10: familiar with the big leagues. Give them a taste of
- 26:21Speaker 10: it so they know what to expect. They can be
- 26:23Speaker 10: more familiar.
- 26:24Speaker 2: I think walking into a clubhouse would be scary, you know,
- 26:27Speaker 2: like the first day and never being around it.
- 26:31Speaker 10: Yeah, but I think they're waiting for you to make
- 26:33Speaker 10: mistakes so they can set you straight. But I think
- 26:36Speaker 10: when you go up there and you start playing, you're
- 26:40Speaker 10: you know, you're helping the team win, so kind of
- 26:42Speaker 10: they take you under their wing until you can't do
- 26:45Speaker 10: the right things right, you know, until you get out
- 26:47Speaker 10: of hand. I guess they pretty much leave you alone,
- 26:49Speaker 10: like they give you some stuff. You know, it'd be
- 26:52Speaker 10: like one of your shows, like you're always over all
- 26:54Speaker 10: over each other, like you know, you're giving it back
- 26:56Speaker 10: and forth, but you got to keep your mouth shut.
- 26:58Speaker 10: They mess with you at all, like yeah, yeah, not no,
- 27:02Speaker 10: no hazing, but yeah, it's almost every day at some
- 27:04Speaker 10: point there's something.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, you gotta kind of watch.
- 27:08Speaker 10: You put your head on a swivel and you just
- 27:10Speaker 10: like I said, just keep your mouth shut and stave
- 27:11Speaker 10: of away and.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Just like prison man.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Yeah, well that's except you get to leave and you
- 27:16Speaker 1: get money maybe.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Not yea yeah, and you get to hit. Yeah.
- 27:20Speaker 1: I don't so one of these I don't want to name.
- 27:22Speaker 1: In one I do want to name. So the one
- 27:23Speaker 1: I do want to name when you finally met what
- 27:25Speaker 1: hero baseball hero of yours while you were playing and
- 27:29Speaker 1: they ended up being as being as cool as.
- 27:30Speaker 4: You had hoped don mad really yeah, well with it.
- 27:34Speaker 2: The Yankees at the time, randomly my rookie year.
- 27:40Speaker 10: Buck Rodgers was our manager for that last year, and
- 27:43Speaker 10: he was like, get a first baseman's glove, And I
- 27:44Speaker 10: was like, all right, said, have you ever played first base?
- 27:46Speaker 2: I said no.
- 27:47Speaker 10: I got the glove in like four days later and
- 27:49Speaker 10: went in after the game and he was like, oh, great,
- 27:52Speaker 10: you're playing.
- 27:52Speaker 2: First base tomorrow.
- 27:53Speaker 10: Glove out in the box, still like I haven't broken in,
- 27:56Speaker 10: never played first baseball. We played the Yankees a couple
- 27:58Speaker 10: of days later, and it was now half through the season,
- 28:01Speaker 10: and I kind of was spread out like I hit,
- 28:03Speaker 10: you know, and I had already been doing that and
- 28:06Speaker 10: anyways playing first base and John matically gets about a
- 28:10Speaker 10: base hit and comes around and I'm just kind of like,
- 28:12Speaker 10: oh my god. You know, he's standing right there, and
- 28:15Speaker 10: so I walk around, you know how you walk around
- 28:17Speaker 10: the bag to get to the front of it while
- 28:19Speaker 10: you know you're gonna hold him on. And he looks
- 28:21Speaker 10: at me and goes, hey, kid, And I was like,
- 28:22Speaker 10: how you doing, sir? And he goes, did you see
- 28:24Speaker 10: my Jim Edmonds two strike approach? And I was like,
- 28:28Speaker 10: and you know, I never said anything to him. I
- 28:30Speaker 10: was like, wow, you know, like in my head. And
- 28:32Speaker 10: I told him after I retired, I went and did
- 28:34Speaker 10: a thing with him and I was like, you know,
- 28:36Speaker 10: you're my idol growing up, and he went on and
- 28:38Speaker 10: on and on, and we were talking about it forever.
- 28:39Speaker 10: But yeah, it's just it was crazy seeing Nolan Ryan
- 28:43Speaker 10: on the mountain.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Really, the face of face is pretty impressive.
- 28:47Speaker 1: He throw bebes.
- 28:48Speaker 10: Yeah, Still he's so in ninety four when he's forty
- 28:50Speaker 10: five years old.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Yeah, crazy, his seventh no hitter, Yeah, all of them
- 28:55Speaker 1: were wild, right, But when he's in his forties, still
- 28:58Speaker 1: throwing no hitters, still ninety three, ninety four years Well.
- 29:01Speaker 10: You know what I think is interesting as I remember
- 29:03Speaker 10: this as a kid, if you still watch it, when
- 29:05Speaker 10: the ball comes out of his hand, it just stays flat,
- 29:08Speaker 10: like straight, like it's almost rising. You don't see guys.
- 29:12Speaker 10: Everybody throws hard now the ball runs. His ball looked
- 29:14Speaker 10: like it just kind of kept going and he had
- 29:17Speaker 10: that extra velocity. The guys just couldn't catch up.
- 29:19Speaker 1: But I don't want a name on this. But did
- 29:21Speaker 1: you meet anybody and they weren't as cool as you
- 29:23Speaker 1: had hoped? And what's that story without a name? Huh?
- 29:27Speaker 1: And it could be there's nobody And actually everybody in
- 29:28Speaker 1: the world is awesome, not.
- 29:30Speaker 2: In baseball, not in baseball.
- 29:33Speaker 11: There are some country music dang it.
- 29:35Speaker 10: No, yeah, no, you know what every being's I've been
- 29:39Speaker 10: so fortunate for that, and you know I love for
- 29:41Speaker 10: music in Nashville. Now I can't really can I got
- 29:46Speaker 10: to think about this one for a little bit, but
- 29:48Speaker 10: probably not. I think I was more. It was more
- 29:53Speaker 10: I think this is funny because I told my wife this.
- 29:54Speaker 10: One time I met a couple of models and I
- 29:58Speaker 10: kind of got when I was younger, like almost set up,
- 30:01Speaker 10: and when I went up to say hello, I was like, oh,
- 30:05Speaker 10: this is what you look like like in real life,
- 30:07Speaker 10: Like wow. And I was like after that, I was
- 30:09Speaker 10: like every picture in book I've ever looked that was ruined.
- 30:13Speaker 11: It's all fake.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, oh yeah, they're like wow, They're.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Like you're that good looking.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:18Speaker 10: We didn't expect it to be just makeup to Bobby
- 30:21Speaker 10: is like, this is all you This is it, It's
- 30:23Speaker 10: all you need.
- 30:23Speaker 1: The All Star Game. As a kid watching the All
- 30:25Speaker 1: Star Game, there was a huge deal because those two
- 30:27Speaker 1: teams never played, you know, before inter League play happened.
- 30:30Speaker 1: It was crazy to watch somebody from the Blue Jays
- 30:32Speaker 1: play somebody from the Guard Walls and I just thought
- 30:34Speaker 1: it was so cool to be at the All Star
- 30:36Speaker 1: Game or to even watch it. Was it As a player,
- 30:40Speaker 1: I know it's an honor. But did you ever just
- 30:42Speaker 1: want the days off?
- 30:43Speaker 10: Yeah? Yeah, early on loved it. It was so much fun.
- 30:48Speaker 10: It really is a special thing, like and I can
- 30:51Speaker 10: see why some of those guys after their tempting twelfth
- 30:53Speaker 10: All Star Game kind of pull back or say, hey,
- 30:57Speaker 10: I don't really.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Need to play or whatever.
- 31:00Speaker 10: I could see why I didn't because I only made
- 31:02Speaker 10: four and I just thought they were special. And the
- 31:05Speaker 10: first one I didn't start, and then I think I started.
- 31:09Speaker 10: I got to start the second and third one, and
- 31:13Speaker 10: then the fourth one I got voted to start or
- 31:16Speaker 10: something not voted to start, but I made the team
- 31:18Speaker 10: and they and started again, and I was like, I
- 31:20Speaker 10: can't turn this down, right, It's it's not just your
- 31:22Speaker 10: one at bat in the ninth inning. So I love
- 31:24Speaker 10: that part of it. But it's very interesting going in
- 31:27Speaker 10: there and seeing the pictures in the corner and the
- 31:29Speaker 10: players over here, but the names of just the greatest
- 31:32Speaker 10: players in the in that era. Just sitting around talking
- 31:35Speaker 10: everyone's sharing stories was pretty cool.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Is it a competitive environment at all or is it
- 31:39Speaker 1: a celebration environment.
- 31:40Speaker 10: Mostly it's a little bit of both. It's just kind
- 31:43Speaker 10: of a business as usual day. But you can see pictures,
- 31:46Speaker 10: especially comparing I remember I.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Forget who it was.
- 31:51Speaker 10: I think it was like Billy Wagner and maybe like
- 31:55Speaker 10: a another closer, and they were talking about strikeouts and
- 32:00Speaker 10: they're saying, my strikeout numbers are going down, and he said,
- 32:03Speaker 10: get used to it, because everybody gets used to you,
- 32:06Speaker 10: and you got to think of new ways to just
- 32:08Speaker 10: get guys out.
- 32:08Speaker 2: And strikeouts don't mean anything. You're a closer.
- 32:11Speaker 10: You're never going to have two thousand strikeouts, so just
- 32:13Speaker 10: get guys out. I thought that was interesting from coming
- 32:15Speaker 10: from a guy through ninety eight from the left side.
- 32:18Speaker 10: I think he was talking to Brad Ledge at the time,
- 32:21Speaker 10: but I just thought the conversations were pretty pretty cool
- 32:24Speaker 10: because there are always experiences and asking each other for
- 32:28Speaker 10: their advice.
- 32:30Speaker 11: One of my favorite things to see is when someone
- 32:32Speaker 11: gets on base and they're just kind of chatting it up.
- 32:35Speaker 11: They're laughing.
- 32:35Speaker 3: It's like it's like, oh, I get to see my
- 32:36Speaker 3: old bud.
- 32:37Speaker 11: I'm playing their.
- 32:38Speaker 3: Team, Like who was it for you to go play
- 32:40Speaker 3: against and be like, oh, I'm so excited I get
- 32:42Speaker 3: to see this person.
- 32:44Speaker 10: You know, it's not supposed to be like that, but
- 32:46Speaker 10: it just I think when you play long enough. The
- 32:48Speaker 10: same guys, especially when we played the year's past, when
- 32:52Speaker 10: the division played against each other so many times. Yeah,
- 32:55Speaker 10: you see the same guys eighteen times.
- 32:57Speaker 2: And if you were a good player, you're on first
- 32:59Speaker 2: base every game. You know.
- 33:02Speaker 10: There was certain guys just like catchers I would say
- 33:04Speaker 10: hello to and other catchers I would and first baseman's
- 33:07Speaker 10: vice versa. Some guys didn't like to talk, you know.
- 33:10Speaker 10: Some guys would be like, hey, what's up and then
- 33:11Speaker 10: turn around. Some guys like Mike Sweeney for the Royals,
- 33:15Speaker 10: he would talk and talk, talk, talk talk, super nice guy. Uh,
- 33:19Speaker 10: we're just talking.
- 33:20Speaker 2: You know, has a family whatever. You know when you
- 33:22Speaker 2: if you know, yeah.
- 33:23Speaker 10: While you're standing up for first base, OKAYT no, no,
- 33:28Speaker 10: but then you're like, I gotta run, dude.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:30Speaker 10: Jason Kendall was funny catching. Every time I said hey, hey, dude,
- 33:34Speaker 10: what's up? He would come up with some off the
- 33:36Speaker 10: wall remark that would just make me laugh. Or I
- 33:38Speaker 10: can't wait too for this one to be over so
- 33:39Speaker 10: I can get a beer, or you know, guys would
- 33:41Speaker 10: say stuff like that, or you know, we would have
- 33:44Speaker 10: little We played each other so many times. Brad Ostmas
- 33:47Speaker 10: one day and was hitting in Houston, and I would
- 33:50Speaker 10: always try to hit the ball left field.
- 33:52Speaker 2: In Houston because of that short porch there.
- 33:54Speaker 10: And they threw me a fastball inside one day and
- 33:57Speaker 10: I kind of like stepped out the way a little
- 33:59Speaker 10: bit just to drag my bat to try to force
- 34:01Speaker 10: it up there. And he just looked up at me
- 34:03Speaker 10: and goes, you're really trying to hit those Crawford boxes,
- 34:05Speaker 10: are you? And I looked down and I go, what
- 34:07Speaker 10: the hell do you think I'm trying to do? Basically like, yeah,
- 34:10Speaker 10: of course I am, like it's right there. And it
- 34:12Speaker 10: was just funny because after playing them for years and
- 34:14Speaker 10: years and years, he finally just said something and I
- 34:16Speaker 10: was like, caught me off guard. I was like, yeah,
- 34:17Speaker 10: of course I'm trying to hit the Crawford boxes hitting.
- 34:20Speaker 10: You know.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Ted William said he could see the seams. That's very famous.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Think he had visions, so he's a fighter pilot, you know,
- 34:26Speaker 1: his vision was awesome. Well, I was gonna ask, and
- 34:30Speaker 1: I've brought some stuff about you and your vision as well.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Do you feel like do you still have great vision?
- 34:34Speaker 1: Was that your superpower as a hitter?
- 34:37Speaker 10: I think so. I think you have to see the seams.
- 34:39Speaker 10: You have to recognize pitches. You have to pay attention
- 34:43Speaker 10: enough to get like the different things where you'll see
- 34:46Speaker 10: like certain pitches will slow down on a breaking ball
- 34:49Speaker 10: where you won't see it with your eyes, but you'll
- 34:52Speaker 10: feel it. You'll you'll get the whole vibe of the
- 34:54Speaker 10: motion slow down, and then it'll kind of click in
- 34:57Speaker 10: your head that here comes something else. But yeah, you
- 34:59Speaker 10: got to see the dot on the slider. You got
- 35:01Speaker 10: to see seams, or you won't know by the time
- 35:04Speaker 10: it comes in and the swing starts. It's enough to
- 35:06Speaker 10: recognize which way the ball is going to go. And
- 35:10Speaker 10: I could see the signs from centerfield. I had twenty
- 35:12Speaker 10: ten vision just like he.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Did, like a one eye that barely works.
- 35:15Speaker 7: Like to hear that.
- 35:17Speaker 10: My son has got twenty ten vision in one eye
- 35:20Speaker 10: and his other eye it's really bad. So he's got
- 35:21Speaker 10: to wear contacts. But you know, I don't think I
- 35:24Speaker 10: told him. I said, if you don't get your eyes down,
- 35:26Speaker 10: then I don't think you can play at that extra
- 35:28Speaker 10: level because of the differences in a fastball, cutter and
- 35:31Speaker 10: a sinker.
- 35:32Speaker 2: They all just do this, this or this, and it's
- 35:34Speaker 2: all seems.
- 35:35Speaker 1: What about pictures that would either tip their pitches or
- 35:39Speaker 1: it would just naturally be a tip because you'd seehim
- 35:41Speaker 1: pitch so much and you see the idiosyncrasies of what
- 35:43Speaker 1: they were.
- 35:44Speaker 10: I was all over that. Yeah, that was probably my
- 35:46Speaker 10: biggest thing. I think I was an overachiever. I learned
- 35:50Speaker 10: early from Eduardo Perez, who learned from his dad obviously
- 35:53Speaker 10: is in the Hall of Fame Tony Press. He taught
- 35:55Speaker 10: me in double A and Triple A, and then we
- 35:57Speaker 10: got to the big leagues and I just picked it
- 35:58Speaker 10: up from there. A lot of the really good hitters
- 36:01Speaker 10: are on that, especially in the nineties and two thousands.
- 36:04Speaker 10: Anybody that was really good knew what was coming who.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Had an odd delivery. Did you ever face ad aoomo?
- 36:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it was tough to hit because you know he
- 36:12Speaker 2: turns back to you.
- 36:13Speaker 10: Well, it was really weird. Is because there's two guys
- 36:15Speaker 10: that I had trouble with their change ups. He was one,
- 36:17Speaker 10: and there's a guy named Fernando Rodney. He's been pitching
- 36:20Speaker 10: for a long time. I think he's out of the
- 36:21Speaker 10: game now. He was in Detroit when he went to
- 36:23Speaker 10: the World Series, but they had change ups when.
- 36:26Speaker 2: They threw him.
- 36:26Speaker 10: They threw them at you, so you flinched and then
- 36:29Speaker 10: it would just like fade down. Most guys throw a
- 36:32Speaker 10: change up down the middle, so you're going to swing
- 36:34Speaker 10: at it and then it runs off outside. Well he would,
- 36:37Speaker 10: they would hode Onoma's toom think, you throw like a
- 36:39Speaker 10: change up in my head and then you know it's
- 36:41Speaker 10: like you have to flinch right, and then you try
- 36:44Speaker 10: to stay on it because you know by then when
- 36:45Speaker 10: you flinch, you're like, oh, that's a change up, and
- 36:48Speaker 10: then you just can't recover.
- 36:49Speaker 2: My struggle with that one.
- 36:50Speaker 10: And then Fernando Rodney had a good one too, the
- 36:52Speaker 10: same thing, to throw it at you and just come
- 36:53Speaker 10: back for a strike. Most guys are trying to throw
- 36:55Speaker 10: it to look like a strike and have a run
- 36:57Speaker 10: off the plate, and that's, you know, a little bit
- 36:59Speaker 10: easier to deal with, especially left handed.
- 37:00Speaker 1: What about knuckleball, there's like a wakefield or there's.
- 37:02Speaker 2: A few, you know, I loved hitting off Wakefield.
- 37:04Speaker 10: God rest his soul, like he was one of the
- 37:07Speaker 10: best guys in baseball personality wise, competitor, but I used
- 37:11Speaker 10: to kill him and he was like he started throwing
- 37:14Speaker 10: me fastballs.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Every pitch. Fastball. He was almost like telling me, he
- 37:17Speaker 2: comes fastball.
- 37:18Speaker 1: What was his fastball? What would be eighty two?
- 37:20Speaker 10: Eighty yeah, but it looked like ninety five after the knuckleballs.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:23Speaker 2: And plus it's like.
- 37:24Speaker 10: This little he had a little short hum because when
- 37:26Speaker 10: he when he threw the knuckleball, you know I was
- 37:27Speaker 10: in here, and then he threw the fastball from the
- 37:29Speaker 10: sane spot. I was like, I was like throwing darts.
- 37:31Speaker 10: But I think I went three for four off from
- 37:33Speaker 10: two games in a row. And after that he started.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Throwing me fastball.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Was that just generally because you could see the knuckle
- 37:39Speaker 1: I was just.
- 37:40Speaker 10: Really good at waiting and being My swing was still
- 37:43Speaker 10: left center field. If you try to pull the knuckleball,
- 37:46Speaker 10: you got no chance.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Did you ever get you're up twenty one to two
- 37:49Speaker 1: and get caught? Did you ever pitch an inning?
- 37:50Speaker 10: No? It's all I wanted to do in my whole
- 37:52Speaker 10: life because I was a pitcher growing up. I pitched
- 37:54Speaker 10: one time at a ball and I pitched an inning.
- 37:56Speaker 10: I struck out two out of three, and I got
- 38:00Speaker 10: for having the best stuff on our team and kangaroo court,
- 38:02Speaker 10: so I had better arm than most of the pictures
- 38:04Speaker 10: on our team. But I hurt my shoulder in high
- 38:07Speaker 10: school and I was supposed to be a pitcher, like
- 38:09Speaker 10: in the top two rounds, and I tore a muscle
- 38:12Speaker 10: on my shoulder and I ended up just getting lucky
- 38:14Speaker 10: got drafted because I cold learn how to hit.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I was. I was gonna say that when I
- 38:17Speaker 1: was looking at your where you were drafted, it seemed
- 38:18Speaker 1: to be late, like I don't know seventh th I
- 38:21Speaker 1: don't I don't remember seventh, six or seventh. I maybe
- 38:23Speaker 1: confuse you with Tom Brady, but still not that far down.
- 38:26Speaker 1: But it was the shoulder injury.
- 38:29Speaker 10: I think it was that, and I think I got
- 38:32Speaker 10: written off as a pitcher, and then they drafted me
- 38:33Speaker 10: as an outfielder, and I think I was kind of
- 38:36Speaker 10: a late.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Bloomer in that situation.
- 38:39Speaker 10: And then, you know, some guys told me, well, I
- 38:41Speaker 10: didn't know if you could run, we didn't know if
- 38:43Speaker 10: you're going to be able to keep hitting all these
- 38:44Speaker 10: different things, but we knew you're a good athlete. So
- 38:47Speaker 10: my scout told me after a couple of years later,
- 38:49Speaker 10: and then he ended up passing away kind of halfway through.
- 38:51Speaker 2: My big league career.
- 38:54Speaker 10: But yeah, it was just kind of a random well,
- 38:57Speaker 10: when they said I got drafted, I was like, for what, Like,
- 38:59Speaker 10: I had no idea it was going on, because I
- 39:00Speaker 10: knew I was pitch.
- 39:01Speaker 2: I was a pitcher.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Yeah, the Cardinals, And this wasn't you want drafted by
- 39:04Speaker 1: Cardinal But the Cardinals had a guy who came up
- 39:05Speaker 1: as a pitcher and then wasn't able to pitch, and
- 39:07Speaker 1: then he came back and played.
- 39:08Speaker 2: One of my best friends.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Really yeah, Rick, Yeah, so Rick Ankile, yeah, obviously had
- 39:14Speaker 1: and I don't know if it.
- 39:15Speaker 10: Was the most incredible fastball curveball I've ever seen. Was
- 39:17Speaker 10: nineteen years old when he came up, and he.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Went through Arkansas played for the Travelers, the Double A team,
- 39:22Speaker 1: So it was a big deal when he came up
- 39:23Speaker 1: and I went to watch him pitch in Little Rock,
- 39:26Speaker 1: and like, I hated the Cardinals because the Cubs fan
- 39:30Speaker 1: didn't hate the Cardinals. I just hated the rival of
- 39:31Speaker 1: the Cups, right, and everybody in Arkansas is a Cardinals
- 39:34Speaker 1: fan because our Double A team was the minor league
- 39:37Speaker 1: team to the Cardinals. But I went and watched Rick
- 39:40Speaker 1: Ankile pitch and then I just remember he couldn't throw
- 39:44Speaker 1: it over the plate and he was gone. But then
- 39:46Speaker 1: he came back as hitter. A hitter.
- 39:48Speaker 10: The only guy. I tell him, you're special. You're the
- 39:50Speaker 10: only guy that made it to the big leagues twice.
- 39:52Speaker 10: He made it to the big leagues as a pitcher
- 39:54Speaker 10: and they made to the big leagues as an outfielder.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Just such a good athlete.
- 39:56Speaker 2: Yeah, he was special. He could he could hit.
- 39:58Speaker 10: When he was pitching team in the big leagues, I
- 40:01Speaker 10: would play first base when market needed a day off
- 40:03Speaker 10: once in a while, three times a year. And I
- 40:05Speaker 10: had some friends that I had grown up with that
- 40:07Speaker 10: were in the league, and they're like, Darryl Kyle had
- 40:09Speaker 10: the best curveball from the right side, and the next
- 40:12Speaker 10: day that Rick and kill would throw and he.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Was like it was great.
- 40:14Speaker 10: I faced Daryl Kyle yesterday and now I'm facing Ricky
- 40:16Speaker 10: and Kills in ninety five.
- 40:18Speaker 2: With the better curveball from the left side.
- 40:20Speaker 10: And they were like guys would walk and like, man,
- 40:22Speaker 10: thank god I got to first base, like as a joke,
- 40:24Speaker 10: but he was that special.
- 40:25Speaker 1: If that were Now do you think with of Tawny
- 40:30Speaker 1: showing that his injury, We'll talk about his injury, but
- 40:33Speaker 1: showing you can hit a pitch, do you think they
- 40:35Speaker 1: would have let ank you'll do that now.
- 40:38Speaker 10: I think he would have had a better chance. But
- 40:40Speaker 10: you know, it's hard because at that stage he was
- 40:44Speaker 10: only hitting every five days and I mean he probably
- 40:46Speaker 10: hit two twenty, two thirty whatever, I don't know, two
- 40:48Speaker 10: fifty pretty good, Yeah, pretty good, But you know, a
- 40:52Speaker 10: couple maybe in his career, maybe a home run or two.
- 40:56Speaker 10: But yeah, I think that you would have to be
- 40:58Speaker 10: a guy that would. I mean, Otani is special because
- 41:01Speaker 10: he's been doing it at that level the whole time.
- 41:03Speaker 10: If he would have come up that way, yeah, he
- 41:06Speaker 10: could have done that.
- 41:07Speaker 11: What's the living situation? Like when you get traded?
- 41:09Speaker 3: I've always wondered, you know, like, oh you got to go,
- 41:12Speaker 3: Like do you get an apartment and you just pack up?
- 41:14Speaker 2: Like's awful?
- 41:15Speaker 1: What's that process?
- 41:16Speaker 2: Oh?
- 41:16Speaker 10: Man, it's I got traded in spring training. So I
- 41:19Speaker 10: went from an apartment just packing my truck and taking
- 41:24Speaker 10: a suitcase to Jupiter and my dad coming and grabbed
- 41:27Speaker 10: my truck and taking it back to Orange County to
- 41:30Speaker 10: coming up here ten days later in Saint Louis and
- 41:34Speaker 10: staying in a hotel and looking for a place to
- 41:37Speaker 10: stay with no help. You know, they don't listen in
- 41:40Speaker 10: the minor leagues anymore.
- 41:41Speaker 2: You're a grown man. You're on your own.
- 41:42Speaker 10: So but yeah, if you get traded in season, sometimes
- 41:45Speaker 10: they'll have somebody like, hey, this is where guys stay, Like,
- 41:48Speaker 10: we have.
- 41:49Speaker 2: A building here. It's in Clayton.
- 41:52Speaker 10: It's a high rise that most guys will just go
- 41:54Speaker 10: to if they need to. But yeah, it's It was
- 41:58Speaker 10: brutal because I was about to sign a multi year deal,
- 42:00Speaker 10: so I was looking for a house, staying in a hotel,
- 42:03Speaker 10: playing every day.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Didn't they also tell you you're not getting traded.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Like you're not getting told the story to someone the
- 42:10Speaker 2: other day.
- 42:10Speaker 10: I just did an interview and yeah, I went in
- 42:13Speaker 10: and I said, hey, what well here, you just told
- 42:14Speaker 10: me I was gonna get traded. And our general manager
- 42:16Speaker 10: at the time, he was a was a knucklehead. He said, oh,
- 42:19Speaker 10: I told you weren't getting traded to the Yankees. I
- 42:22Speaker 10: was like, yeah, that's not what you said. But still
- 42:24Speaker 10: to this day, you know, the best thing ever happened
- 42:26Speaker 10: to me. But at the time, it was tough.
- 42:28Speaker 1: When you come to a culture like Saint Louis and
- 42:30Speaker 1: the Cardinals, do you feel it immediately at the difference
- 42:32Speaker 1: in the fans.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Interesting immediately right away, It's so interesting. I was pre.
- 42:42Speaker 10: The Angels and the Red you know, with Artie Marino
- 42:44Speaker 10: and the change of the philosophy and the change of
- 42:47Speaker 10: the culture there. And so I came here first day,
- 42:49Speaker 10: I was like, holy crap, like, what's going on here?
- 42:51Speaker 10: I got a standing ovation spring training. Ten thousand fans
- 42:56Speaker 10: first day, you know. And when we would play against
- 42:59Speaker 10: the Yankees, Red Sox, whoever, a lot more fans and
- 43:02Speaker 10: Anaheim were cheering for them than we're cheering for us.
- 43:04Speaker 10: And you get here, it's just, you know, other than
- 43:06Speaker 10: the Cubs coming into town, there is no cheering for
- 43:08Speaker 10: the other team.
- 43:09Speaker 1: When you you kind of shot out of a cannon
- 43:11Speaker 1: when this once the season started, right, I just trying
- 43:14Speaker 1: to remember, like I think you bat like three seventy
- 43:16Speaker 1: three eighty the fish, Like, is that just because it
- 43:18Speaker 1: was like a rejuvenation.
- 43:21Speaker 10: Yeah, I think so small the ballpark was a little
- 43:23Speaker 10: bit smaller rejuvenation. I had spent most of the year
- 43:26Speaker 10: the year before rehabbing because I was hurt, kind of
- 43:29Speaker 10: got myself in really good shape, and so it was
- 43:31Speaker 10: having a good spring training. So when I came to
- 43:34Speaker 10: Saint Louis. I was in really good shape and ready
- 43:35Speaker 10: to go and just happened to work great. I mean,
- 43:38Speaker 10: Tony was you know, he was only was interested about
- 43:42Speaker 10: was winning and helping me get better as a man.
- 43:45Speaker 10: And he would just give me little tidbits here and there,
- 43:48Speaker 10: and it made me really want to.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Play rivalries real or real on the field. But once
- 43:54Speaker 1: you get off, you realize the fans aren't watching anymore
- 43:56Speaker 1: and you're all professionals.
- 43:58Speaker 10: Cubs Starley it really early two thousand. I think that
- 44:02Speaker 10: the media made it. I don't think any of the
- 44:04Speaker 10: players really knew anything about it. Like, if you think
- 44:07Speaker 10: about the Cubs in those years, a lot of those
- 44:09Speaker 10: guys were you know, Dempster came from the Marlins. S
- 44:12Speaker 10: deakal Lee was in the Marlins. I think a couple
- 44:15Speaker 10: of homegrown guys. Their catcher was not from their team.
- 44:19Speaker 10: A couple guys came up, but all kind of we
- 44:22Speaker 10: both had a bunch of free agents. But the media
- 44:24Speaker 10: made such a big deal of it. It was like
- 44:26Speaker 10: heated right away. You know, if someone got thrown at
- 44:29Speaker 10: on accident, they would be like it was like a war,
- 44:31Speaker 10: and it was like it kept getting worse and worse
- 44:34Speaker 10: each year, and then finally you know you're like, what
- 44:37Speaker 10: are we doing here?
- 44:39Speaker 2: The team started.
- 44:40Speaker 10: Breaking up a little bit and you start playing each
- 44:42Speaker 10: other enough you kind of start be friendly a little bit,
- 44:45Speaker 10: but still on the field. And then Panela and LaRussa
- 44:47Speaker 10: would go at it, so you know, you see all
- 44:49Speaker 10: that stuff. But that kind of turned it up a
- 44:51Speaker 10: notch too.
- 44:52Speaker 1: So what about whenever you go from playing at Saint
- 44:54Speaker 1: Louis and the next thing you know, you're in the
- 44:55Speaker 1: blue and you're playing for the Cubs.
- 44:57Speaker 10: That was fun. Then I realized that the rivalry wasn't
- 45:01Speaker 10: that big of a deal. But like I said, that
- 45:02Speaker 10: was kind of at the end when everything was breaking apart,
- 45:05Speaker 10: and I realized that in the locker room it wasn't
- 45:10Speaker 10: as bad as what you think it is because you're
- 45:13Speaker 10: what you read. And then, like I said, and the
- 45:17Speaker 10: teams that were so different at that time. You know,
- 45:19Speaker 10: there was that holiday came here, I was gone. You know,
- 45:23Speaker 10: I ain't kill was there I think for a year.
- 45:25Speaker 10: You know, those kind of things changed. Plus I was
- 45:28Speaker 10: kind of like the intermediate guy. But I had a
- 45:31Speaker 10: blast in Chicago. It was like ten times more fun
- 45:34Speaker 10: than I'd ever thought I could have there.
- 45:36Speaker 2: I loved it. I wanted to play there the next
- 45:38Speaker 2: year too, and theydn't want me back.
- 45:39Speaker 1: You were like that because you were so freaking good
- 45:41Speaker 1: in center field, like it, it would really pissed me off,
- 45:44Speaker 1: and I would because you were you were awesome. I mean,
- 45:47Speaker 1: you're the best outfielder that I've ever seen consistently, because
- 45:49Speaker 1: I watched probably eighty five Cups gaming year and a
- 45:52Speaker 1: lot of those were playing the Cardinals. Yeah they were,
- 45:54Speaker 1: and so I would see you. You were the most
- 45:55Speaker 1: dynamic ballplayer that I would have watched consistently. That wasn't
- 45:59Speaker 1: you know, a cub. But even then, we kept broth
- 46:01Speaker 1: with the center fielders and they were fine, that's fine,
- 46:03Speaker 1: but they had no Jim Edmonds. And when you came over,
- 46:05Speaker 1: it was like Calipari now who was coaching at Arkansas,
- 46:08Speaker 1: who was a Kentucky freaking hated him, hated the Kentucky
- 46:10Speaker 1: now's at Aransas. Aw HEA's like my best friend.
- 46:12Speaker 3: I'm like, let's go.
- 46:13Speaker 2: I love you. Yeah, It's amazing how it changed it.
- 46:16Speaker 1: I mean you just changed colors and I was like, Jim,
- 46:18Speaker 1: I love that guy. When you finally had you hung
- 46:22Speaker 1: it up was that difficult decision.
- 46:24Speaker 10: I blew my achilles out and so I really played.
- 46:28Speaker 10: It was tearing, shredding because of a situation I was
- 46:32Speaker 10: in the middle of with some medicine and the doctor
- 46:34Speaker 10: put some stuff in my achilles that shouldn't have been
- 46:37Speaker 10: in there, and so I was playing through it and
- 46:39Speaker 10: it just was getting to the point I wanted to retire.
- 46:41Speaker 2: I wanted to quit.
- 46:42Speaker 10: I wanted to fix it, and they kept talking me
- 46:44Speaker 10: into it Milwaukee, and then yeah, I went to Cincinnati
- 46:48Speaker 10: because our general manager from here went there just he
- 46:51Speaker 10: wanted me to just go help to get in the playoffs.
- 46:53Speaker 10: Played a couple of games and it was so bad
- 46:55Speaker 10: it popped, it wasn't completely torn, and then it finally
- 46:59Speaker 10: got to the point it's like I can't do this anymore.
- 47:02Speaker 10: And then after the season playing baseball with my son
- 47:07Speaker 10: and a tour tour, and so when I had that,
- 47:09Speaker 10: I thought, you know what, I'm probably done. Like I
- 47:11Speaker 10: couldn't imagine having to work at forty forty one years
- 47:15Speaker 10: old to come back from the achilles injury.
- 47:17Speaker 2: I just didn't know what was about. So I just
- 47:18Speaker 2: kind of might mentally shut it off.
- 47:20Speaker 4: Does anything hurt now? When the weather gets weird.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Everything.
- 47:24Speaker 10: Yeah, I just had my knee replaced about two and
- 47:27Speaker 10: a half months ago. You know, I'm you know, what
- 47:30Speaker 10: I've noticed is I'm getting stiff. I just need to
- 47:32Speaker 10: start stretching and doing more stuff.
- 47:34Speaker 2: I've been lazy.
- 47:35Speaker 10: I have my knee replaced, and kind of when you
- 47:37Speaker 10: kind of don't walk around very much and you kind of,
- 47:40Speaker 10: you know, hobble upstairs and crutches and things start to
- 47:43Speaker 10: like tense up a little bit. So I'm on the
- 47:45Speaker 10: mend for that. And now I know, I realized I
- 47:47Speaker 10: have to like do a few things more than normal.
- 47:49Speaker 1: My final three questions.
- 47:50Speaker 2: But everything does hurt, yeah, every day.
- 47:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I don't want to do it.
- 47:53Speaker 1: I didn't even do anything and.
- 47:54Speaker 2: I heard I did nothing.
- 47:57Speaker 11: Jim, what do you miss the most about the game?
- 48:00Speaker 10: Probably the locker room, the guys, the battles. It's fun,
- 48:04Speaker 10: and it really is. It's fun to go out there
- 48:06Speaker 10: and win. I mean, we were just laughing earlier, how
- 48:08Speaker 10: competitive y'all are. That's kind of fun. You were actually
- 48:10Speaker 10: cheering each other on as you're trying to kill each other.
- 48:13Speaker 10: But that's kind of what it's like. You know, you're
- 48:15Speaker 10: every day with these guys from three o'clock, two o'clock
- 48:19Speaker 10: to midnight. Basically travel with them on the road. You know,
- 48:22Speaker 10: see them morning, you see your family. That's a special bond.
- 48:25Speaker 10: And those guys, some of these guys I still stay
- 48:27Speaker 10: in touch with every day. That'll never go in that's
- 48:30Speaker 10: really cool. I love the competition, so I'm so not
- 48:33Speaker 10: competitive away from the field, but on the field, ultra competitive.
- 48:37Speaker 2: And so they'll probably those two things.
- 48:39Speaker 1: That's interesting because I'm not an outgoing person away from
- 48:43Speaker 1: a microphone or a stage, just not an not going person.
- 48:46Speaker 1: But then when it's time to do this, that's what
- 48:48Speaker 1: I do. And I don't know if it's I've become
- 48:49Speaker 1: less outgoing because I do this all the time, or
- 48:52Speaker 1: if I am naturally an introvert and I can just
- 48:55Speaker 1: turn it up. But it is like two different worlds.
- 48:58Speaker 1: And it seems like that's what you're saying what it
- 49:00Speaker 1: was like for you too, because you were competing at
- 49:02Speaker 1: a high level. Yeah, so hyper focused in this one
- 49:05Speaker 1: spot that the rest of the time it wasn't that.
- 49:07Speaker 2: Yeah, last time, I want to sit on the couch
- 49:08Speaker 2: and do nothing. Yeah.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Two questions. Do you ever have an airplane scare because
- 49:12Speaker 1: you're traveling a lot like the bad turbul.
- 49:14Speaker 2: Not a terrible one.
- 49:15Speaker 10: We had a bad one coming home from spring training
- 49:18Speaker 10: one you're actually landing here in Saint Louis, But never
- 49:21Speaker 10: like the you know, if you didn't have your seat belt,
- 49:23Speaker 10: throw you out of the seat now and never been
- 49:24Speaker 10: diverted yet, knock on wood.
- 49:26Speaker 11: With all the flights you took, I can't believe it.
- 49:28Speaker 2: Yeah, think about it every day.
- 49:29Speaker 11: Did you think while you were, like, Man, we're flying
- 49:31Speaker 11: so much like this?
- 49:32Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 49:32Speaker 10: Yeah, your numbers game, yeah, numbers game on hundred percent? Right, Yeah,
- 49:36Speaker 10: I still think about it. You know, when we travel,
- 49:37Speaker 10: I'm like, when we're all traveling together, I'm thinking, Man,
- 49:40Speaker 10: I need to make sure all my papers in order
- 49:42Speaker 10: and make sure nothing goes. I'll play morbid here. Yeah,
- 49:44Speaker 10: welcome to baseball.
- 49:46Speaker 2: But no, it is true though you're right ready, have
- 49:48Speaker 2: you guys?
- 49:50Speaker 3: I had a bad one.
- 49:51Speaker 2: Is this fresh in your mind? Is that? Well?
- 49:53Speaker 1: We were talking about it in the news. I hate
- 49:55Speaker 1: to fly. I hate flying. I hate flying. And we
- 49:57Speaker 1: were flying down to.
- 49:58Speaker 11: A show and.
- 50:01Speaker 1: I have a plane, and so we were flying that
- 50:03Speaker 1: plane and Amy's husband at the time, her EIKE's husband
- 50:06Speaker 1: was a was a pilot and was a you know,
- 50:09Speaker 1: I don't want to get too much of as air force pilot.
- 50:11Speaker 1: And we hit some turbulence boom and he's used to
- 50:14Speaker 1: that crack get to him.
- 50:15Speaker 3: He was like, this is awesome.
- 50:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I thought we were dead. I thought we're dead. Yeah,
- 50:20Speaker 1: And that was the closest we didn't die. A spoiler,
- 50:24Speaker 1: we didn't die, but that was it. That was the
- 50:27Speaker 1: bad one.
- 50:27Speaker 2: I got a quick story for you.
- 50:28Speaker 10: That's funny, you said, I just made me think of
- 50:30Speaker 10: actually one too. I have a friend that raised the
- 50:31Speaker 10: Indy Car and he's a pilot for his family's plane
- 50:34Speaker 10: and he hates to fly, hates to be in the
- 50:36Speaker 10: back seat, hates to go like we go on vacation.
- 50:39Speaker 10: He's like, I don't know if I should take the plane.
- 50:41Speaker 10: So I hates sitting in the back seat, in the
- 50:42Speaker 10: back back like he doesn't want to fly. He calls
- 50:44Speaker 10: it public because he just is so scared of it.
- 50:46Speaker 10: But so, Actually a funny story, Me and my friend
- 50:49Speaker 10: were flying to Kansas City. I bought part of this
- 50:52Speaker 10: company and so we were flying to Kansas City to
- 50:55Speaker 10: meet with someone and we rented a plane to the sky.
- 50:59Speaker 10: We found out was a friend of that guy, and
- 51:01Speaker 10: so he.
- 51:02Speaker 2: Was flying us there. Everything was perfectly fine. We're like
- 51:04Speaker 2: in a it.
- 51:05Speaker 10: Was like a new Leer. It was like the last
- 51:07Speaker 10: Lear jet that wasn't a jet it was. It looked
- 51:10Speaker 10: exactly like a nice Leer on the inside, but it
- 51:12Speaker 10: has two props. So we're flying home and we get
- 51:15Speaker 10: about halfway and it's a forty minute flight and all
- 51:19Speaker 10: of a sudden, the engines stall like and.
- 51:22Speaker 2: You could hear it. And I'm looking at him.
- 51:24Speaker 10: He's looking at me, and it's like want that little
- 51:26Speaker 10: did And we start to drop a little bit and
- 51:29Speaker 10: we look at him and I'm like, is this it? Like,
- 51:32Speaker 10: you know, like quietly, you're just looking at him, like
- 51:33Speaker 10: what hopefully this think can glide right?
- 51:36Speaker 2: That's all I can think of.
- 51:37Speaker 10: And then it's like starts to really start to nose
- 51:39Speaker 10: that have a little bit and then it just goes
- 51:44Speaker 10: takes all and.
- 51:45Speaker 2: He looks back at us and he goes sorry about that.
- 51:47Speaker 2: He was just testing the reserve fuel. Buddy snapped and
- 51:51Speaker 2: he was like, you couldn't have done that. On the ground.
- 51:54Speaker 2: He's like going off and he was like yelling and
- 51:55Speaker 2: I was like, I was white. I was just like,
- 51:57Speaker 2: are you serious right now?
- 51:59Speaker 10: Like literally, league turned he went to pull it was
- 52:02Speaker 10: make sure the reserve worked, and it was old gas
- 52:04Speaker 10: with air in the tank, and he was just like
- 52:07Speaker 10: just cruising around board, so let's just check it out.
- 52:09Speaker 2: And I was like, this is it.
- 52:11Speaker 1: I don't even like how that made me feel and
- 52:12Speaker 1: that I mean, it was unbelievable. Final question, ever, stay
- 52:17Speaker 1: out way late, having a good time, and then have
- 52:19Speaker 1: to go play a game every day, like.
- 52:22Speaker 2: Every two hours too many times? Yeah?
- 52:24Speaker 10: Oh yeah, maybe not two hours of sleep, but definitely
- 52:27Speaker 10: some been some long nights out.
- 52:29Speaker 1: There on the road, more so than at home because.
- 52:30Speaker 10: Oh yeah, and then had some really good games, really yeah,
- 52:34Speaker 10: really good games.
- 52:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:36Speaker 1: Maybe that's the key to the show sometimes at all
- 52:40Speaker 1: really drink? I don't, That's what I'm saying.
- 52:41Speaker 2: Maybe I doesn't really drink.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Yeah, do you enjoy talking about baseball?
- 52:45Speaker 2: Still? I do?
- 52:46Speaker 10: What people that that are interested, like in guys like
- 52:50Speaker 10: one of the guys coming out here in a few
- 52:52Speaker 10: minutes to hit I enjoy. You know, my son brings
- 52:56Speaker 10: his high school friends over, but they don't really listen.
- 52:59Speaker 2: They listen, but they don't but like the Big.
- 53:01Speaker 10: League or guys, the guys come over from the team,
- 53:04Speaker 10: someone's about to come over now, and then guys like
- 53:06Speaker 10: spend time over here, and I really love listening to
- 53:09Speaker 10: what they say because it's funny that they still don't
- 53:12Speaker 10: really know if they know themselves or if they really
- 53:15Speaker 10: have it all under or but there, or they can't
- 53:16Speaker 10: fix themselves. They need somebody else that's been there, done
- 53:19Speaker 10: that to just say this is what I'm noticing out
- 53:22Speaker 10: of you. Because everyone has a different look and some
- 53:25Speaker 10: people don't look in the same area, Like a lot
- 53:27Speaker 10: of people look here and I look down. Usually it's
- 53:30Speaker 10: the base, the feet, stuff like that, not always the
- 53:33Speaker 10: hands or the head or whatever, and so it's just different.
- 53:36Speaker 2: I think it's a lot of fun.
- 53:37Speaker 10: That part's fun in talking with somebody that has knowledge
- 53:39Speaker 10: and loves to talk back and forth and is open
- 53:41Speaker 10: to anything.
- 53:42Speaker 2: It's cool, but just to talk.
- 53:43Speaker 1: No, not really, but like nerds like me, and I'm like,
- 53:46Speaker 1: tell me about this.
- 53:48Speaker 10: Love it, Like I can see that you like it,
- 53:50Speaker 10: and I know that you're a fan, so I obviously
- 53:52Speaker 10: follow you guys and listen to you guys every morning.
- 53:54Speaker 10: But yeah, I think that's cool because I would. I
- 53:57Speaker 10: would do the same to you if I was at
- 53:59Speaker 10: your house else in your studio, I'd like to I
- 54:01Speaker 10: love music and I love the radio stuff. I bother
- 54:05Speaker 10: Kevin all the time, but I think it's cool. You
- 54:08Speaker 10: know my friend Steve that runs Sony Nashville, I love.
- 54:12Speaker 10: I asked him crazy questions all the time and it's
- 54:14Speaker 10: just kind of fun. And I feel the same way.
- 54:15Speaker 10: I'm like, am I bothering you right now?
- 54:17Speaker 2: Well?
- 54:17Speaker 1: We really appreciate the time. Yeah, and big fans, and
- 54:19Speaker 1: thanks for having us over there.
- 54:20Speaker 2: Oh, I love it. Thanks for having all.
- 54:22Speaker 1: Right, thanks to Jim Edmonds and go over We'll have
- 54:26Speaker 1: a clipper too.
- 54:26Speaker 4: Up on the twenty five.
- 54:27Speaker 1: Whistles Instagram page. One of the dumbest bits ever that
- 54:31Speaker 1: Eddie I suggested. We'll get to it right after let's
- 54:33Speaker 1: say quick break.
- 54:36Speaker 4: Okay, we're back. A couple of things. Bill Walton died. Yeah,
- 54:40Speaker 4: I did not know he had cancer, did you, guys?
- 54:42Speaker 4: I don't know if maybe I just had missed it somewhere.
- 54:44Speaker 2: No.
- 54:45Speaker 1: But Bill Walton, who led the UCLA Bruins the two
- 54:47Speaker 1: national titles before winning two championships in the NBA, even
- 54:51Speaker 1: on one in Portland.
- 54:52Speaker 7: Yeah, seventy seven.
- 54:54Speaker 4: Good for you for even guessing at that unless you
- 54:56Speaker 4: saw it on this Yeah, I saw.
- 54:57Speaker 3: Them, Okay, I just he did the stats.
- 55:01Speaker 4: He died at seventy one after a prolonged battle with cancer.
- 55:05Speaker 4: Some facts.
- 55:05Speaker 1: Forty four points in the nineteen seventy three championship game
- 55:09Speaker 1: versus Memphis State.
- 55:10Speaker 4: That's college forty four points, seventy seven to seventy eight,
- 55:14Speaker 4: NBA MVP.
- 55:15Speaker 1: Two NBA Championships I won with Portland, one with Boston,
- 55:18Speaker 1: and Basketball Hall of Fame in nineteen ninety three. Known
- 55:22Speaker 1: for saying a lot of cool things, funny things, inspiring things,
- 55:25Speaker 1: or me. If I turn it on West Coast Basketball
- 55:28Speaker 1: at two in the morning, he's usually talking about your head.
- 55:31Speaker 1: Here's a compilation of some of Bill Walton's clips from
- 55:34Speaker 1: over the years. I'm not a very good catcher.
- 55:36Speaker 3: I'm much better at getting high than getting lower.
- 55:38Speaker 6: I maybe I'll just stripped down right here, Bill is
- 55:40Speaker 6: taking his shirt off. Isn't worrying diodoing? You're taking your
- 55:44Speaker 6: shirt off? Monou Onw's birthday, Kudu. He's the inventor of
- 55:50Speaker 6: the instant noodle, and thank you.
- 55:53Speaker 2: I love my noodle. It doesn't get any better business.
- 55:57Speaker 2: I just got laid.
- 55:58Speaker 4: I I have found that must only you help you anyway.
- 56:02Speaker 6: This is a foam roller with a fight bringer inside.
- 56:05Speaker 2: So it's fantastic.
- 56:08Speaker 4: Rest in peace. Bill.
- 56:09Speaker 1: You can tell how vered he was about the people
- 56:11Speaker 1: that you listen to or you watch a lot talk
- 56:14Speaker 1: about him, because I never met him, but there are
- 56:16Speaker 1: like three or four sports personalities that I know and
- 56:18Speaker 1: follow and listen to, and they talk just.
- 56:19Speaker 4: So glowingly about him. But yeah, he was always fine.
- 56:22Speaker 3: He went to like what a thousand grateful Dead concerts?
- 56:25Speaker 4: Is that what it was?
- 56:26Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 56:27Speaker 4: The game the Bridge lose Ronald Cone of Junior to
- 56:29Speaker 4: a torn.
- 56:29Speaker 3: A cl I feel you, dude, dude, you like, no,
- 56:34Speaker 3: just playing baseball, man, you know, and you get your.
- 56:36Speaker 1: Injury is comfortable to somebody jam in their toe.
- 56:39Speaker 3: It's a little more than that.
- 56:41Speaker 1: Like in the middle of the night boom oh, Like
- 56:44Speaker 1: that's you know, that's basically what you.
- 56:45Speaker 3: Got when I did google my fractures that some people
- 56:47Speaker 3: do stub their toe and get fractures there.
- 56:49Speaker 1: Stub though I don't think it's worse than that slam
- 56:52Speaker 1: their tax slam A stub that sucks.
- 56:55Speaker 4: And that, but this is a slam.
- 56:57Speaker 3: But Ronald, I feel you do. We're out for a
- 56:59Speaker 3: little bit.
- 57:00Speaker 1: It's from ESPN. Here's the segment that Eddie suggested, I
- 57:05Speaker 1: fractured my foot working out with the Cardinals. I have
- 57:07Speaker 1: some other worst sports injuries of all time, Joe, thisman
- 57:10Speaker 1: is like fracture. So these are other sports injuries that
- 57:13Speaker 1: Eddie wanted me to talk about, much like.
- 57:14Speaker 3: His will you put Ronald on that list? To Ronald
- 57:18Speaker 3: Acuna tearing his a c l achilles? What are you
- 57:20Speaker 3: talking his a cl You said a cl then achilles.
- 57:24Speaker 3: I don't know the difference.

- 57:31Speaker 3: Wait, wait is what's his name in there?
- 57:33Speaker 2: The George.
- 57:35Speaker 4: I'm going to get to them. Let's just take a look.
- 57:36Speaker 1: Si. Then you can put on anybody you don't because
- 57:39Speaker 1: for me, one that would have made the list would
- 57:41Speaker 1: have been the It didn't miss the Frank Gore.
- 57:45Speaker 4: Did his nego backward?
- 57:46Speaker 2: Was it Gore? No?

- 58:06Speaker 7: You got stabbed.
- 58:07Speaker 3: Well, the stab so.
- 58:08Speaker 4: You can say if you're a better or worse, Like
- 58:10Speaker 4: worse means that yours is.
- 58:11Speaker 3: Far more, far worse. But but mine's better than the stab. Yeah,
- 58:16Speaker 3: the stabbing is pretty bad.
- 58:17Speaker 1: Dude, Monic. Remember this, She like sitting on the bench
- 58:23Speaker 1: or whatever and a fan comes over and stabs her
- 58:25Speaker 1: in the back.
- 58:25Speaker 4: Oh my goodness, sign for two years.
- 58:28Speaker 2: Yep.
- 58:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I just walked over and stabbed her, what like

- 1:00:00Speaker 3: Leg fracture, foot fracture or same thing.
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: Paul George's leg injury.
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: So that was terrible, Like I didn't think he'd be
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: able to walk again.
- 1:00:08Speaker 7: That was the Olympic thing, right, Yeah, I hardly remember that.
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: You do remember that?
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: I kind of knew, but it wasn't in a game,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: right It was jurning again, No, that was practicea.
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: Don't clip this.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: NBA star Paul George suffered an open tibbia fibula fracture
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: during a Team USA scrimmage. Yeah, the injury was severe,
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: but he made a remarkable recovery.
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: Yeah, not watching that. Pretty remarkable.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: No, Kevin wears leg fracture n CUAA tournament game, Louisville
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: player Kevin Ware suffered a compound fracture on court incident.
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: I don't guess I remember that one.
- 1:00:43Speaker 8: That was like the worst one I've seen because his
- 1:00:44Speaker 8: bone is just full on out.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Hey read to everybody bo Jackson's hip injury.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: Did they show that?
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: I don't know if it was.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know if the all this
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: list is what you could see. Some of it just
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: may be things that really sideline. I was reading an
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: article that Bo Jackson ran a four point.
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: Think about that.
- 1:01:11Speaker 7: That's insane?
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: Is that fast?
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Four to two is like the standard of somebody. That's
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: the fastest you could possibly be, and.
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: He was huge.
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: Clint mal Or Chuck's neck injury nineteen eighty nine, that's
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: n HL.
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: I don't even want to watch that.
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: I don't even know what it is. Eddy years is worse.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: Did he die?
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: I don't, Oh, I don't know. I know he fully recovered,
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: played two weeks later. You're not gonna be back up
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: in two weeks?
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: No, No, dude, they said six to eight weeks. The
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: years is worse thang.
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: Alex Smith's leg injury.
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, oh the same spot as thisman.
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: Yeah, THI is Mend's number one.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: During a Monday night football game, Redskins quarterback Joe thisman
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: suffered a gruesome like fracture when the Giants linebacker Lawrence
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: Taylor sacked on. The injury in the Thaisond's career. One
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: of the most memorable injuries in NFL history. Would you
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: say that your injury is one of the most memorable?
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: And too much access history?
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: I think so too much access history.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Well, the last two episodes, we've had some real issues.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: Tore my rotator cuff the last episode.
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: And you did that playing baseball, right your your's is
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: baseball to softball. Yeah, I just was throwing a years
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: of soccer and over. Yeah, it's not good. You know
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: a little more Major League baseball.
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: Dude, like you came down on a base I.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: Was playing with the Cardinals, Okay, I was playing with
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: Florida State Softball.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: College.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: You say college, but yeah, I think that episode will
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: be up next week. The Cardinals went up now and
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: today it's the Texas Ranchers pickleball episode, which you'll be
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: able to see.
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: It's probably up now on my Instagram. Just go to
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: mister Bobby Bones.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: It's a professional pickball team, which, by the way, my
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: pickleball court should be up in like two weeks or so.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: You guys can play on it.
- 1:02:54Speaker 7: Let's go.
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: I watch. I'll sit there and watch for a little bit.
- 1:02:59Speaker 7: All that workd you can't even use all that one.
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: I bet you in four weeks you're a plus.
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: Ready to go now, you know you say that, but
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: I don't think I want to risk it.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: You are the Adrian Peterson of the pinky toe injury.
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: You're gonna bounce back. You got an expectation on you.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: You keep calling it the pinky toe Injine, that's what
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: that injury. But it's further down the foot. It's like
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: in the middle of my foot. What's the actual name
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: of it, evulsion Okay, the evulsion fraction before. Basically what
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: they said is.
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: It's like in the metatarsal party or whatever that is.
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: It's like on the side of my foot, but a
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: piece of my bone chipped off, Okay, and but it's
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: still together there with the cartilage or the ligament of
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: it avulsion.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: And I don't want anybody to think that Eddie's going
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: through something easy. It sucks, But this is when they
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: can't do anything for you. Just gotta let it heal.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: It's a failure of bone in which a slight fragment
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: is pulled away from.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: The main body bone.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: They can occur in any area where soft tissues attached
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: to bone. Yeah, how serious is it? It needs care?
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Can I walk on it? You need to wear a
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: boot for two weeks after your injury. Weeks, that's what
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: this says, I do. Don't no, no, no, no no no,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: this is Google.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: Yeah, your dude, it looked awful.
- 1:04:11Speaker 7: So what happens with working out now for you?
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: Guys?
- 1:04:14Speaker 10: Uh?
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: The trainer says, just focus on upper body. You're to come,
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: not today, but I am going to come.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: An avulsion fracture to your foot or ankle may require
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: a cast or walking boot in rare cases, if the
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: bone fragment a main bone are too far apart, they
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: won't fuse naturally, but ninety percent of them they do.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: How long does it take to heal these types of fractures?
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: Usually hell within four to six weeks, six weeks in
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: the long end. So cool, Yeah, nice, it did look terrible. Yeah,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: it look like a baseball shoved under his skin. Mike,
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: can you missed all this?
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: I saw it.
- 1:04:43Speaker 7: That was gross.
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: Yeah, it's gross. I also saw a snake on Eddie's porch.
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: Dude, what the crap? But it's a it's a rat snake,
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: so like they're good, they're not venomous. So I didn't
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: kill it or anything. I was ready to if I
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: had to, or were you gonna kill it? Like if
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: it would have had a rattle, for sure it would
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: have shoveled it. Oh yeah, like we're not risking that.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: I agree with that, but my wife is like gallant, gallant,
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: and I'm like, no, I guess it's a harmless snake.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: But it was on the fence headed towards my house,
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: which is crazy. Like if we wouldn't have seen that snake,
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: where would have gone in the house in the toilet?
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: That is my worst nightmare.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: Simply looking for food or yeah, I mean that's what
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: all it's doing.
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: It's either hurt.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: If it's coming toward the house where people are, it's
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: probably looking for food, or it's hurt and it's trying
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: to get to a place that it feels safe, like
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: some sort of shelteris type.
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: Other than that, it's not trying to do.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Anything mean or bad, right, I mean, we take Eller
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: on this little hiking. I hate going for walks, but
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: I can go for a hike. It's a hard hike
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: where you go to the lake. No, it's this hiking.
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: I don't know. It's pretty hard. It's a mountain or something.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: I don't know, go to the mountains.
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: I don't know where we go, but it's like a two.
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: And a half mile You're like my kids, they never
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: know where we are.
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: But we've done it three times now. In the first
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: two we got lost, but we figured it out the
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: last time. But Eller is for sure hound boy, and
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: she'll she'll almost point, like we had bird dogs back
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: in the day, and a bird dog just stopping point
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: and it will not move until you tell it to
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: move it. It will hold for thirty minutes. But Ella
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: will kind of semi point. But she'll be on and
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: she'll see and hear things, and she's like run up
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: a couple of snakes that were right near us. We
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: wouldn't have seen it had she not seen it.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: That's nice, little heads up. Yeah, just keep walking No,
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: she's like, hey, there's a snake here.
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: My five year old found our snake. He comes, he
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: came in running.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Having his hand.
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: He totally was just ad he came in with.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Basketball wise, make your prediction. Now we have to all
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: the way through, all the way through.
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: I'm gonna have to go with Boston with a with
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: a healthy Porzingis. I gotta go Boston. I mean this whole.
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: But I don't think we can do with this or
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: without of this.
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: I think you just kind of he'll be bad, but.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: He's not gonna be healthy. You think he's gonna finish.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: He hasn't played one single game. Sure you think all
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: of a sudden he's going to show up play.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: Yes, that's what you do in the NBA. Man, Like
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: you've been playing your whole life.
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: He doesn't. He's playing his whole life. He still every
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: third game.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: I feel like the Kyrie Glass.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: What's his name, doctor Glass, Mike, mister Glass, the last Joe,
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: the guy from mister Glass and Bruce Willis was the
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: opposite of him.
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: Ye, pulp fiction, No, it's just called Glass.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but that was the sequel, but the real one
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: was and the whole time you kind of figure out
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: that he was unbreakable, That Bruce Willis was unbreakable.
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: Is that the movie he's called Breakable? Ya figured it out?
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: I didn't didn't. So, but porzingis doesn't matter in or out.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: Just picking a team, get how many game, Let's just
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: go with the sweep. I mean that's what they do now,
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: right if they want to, or if they want.
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: To just sweep.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: If they want to, let's go Celtics and four Kevin
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Celtics and six. Okay, so I'm gonna go Are you
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: betting right now?
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: Because the Mavericks are plus one eighty five, I'm gonna
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: go two hundred bucks on the Mavericks to win five seventy.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: And I wonder if Minnesota gets in if they'll cancel
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: that bet.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: They will, I'm sure, yeah, you have to, right, I
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: don't know they have to.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of times they'll they'll avoid out a
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: bet if it's not able to be bet unless it's
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: plus one eighty five, because there's Minnesota still has a
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: chance to come back and win.
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: Okay, I'm taking Dallas or Minnesota.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: Are there four people?
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: No?
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: Are there three people on the bet? Is Minnesota an
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: option on that.
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: There are two options.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: There's plus one eighty five Dallas plus one eighty five Minnesota,
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: So it's got to be either teams at plus.
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: One eighty five. Yeah, right, who knows either.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: Way it's gonna be over anyway, although I don't I
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: think Minnesota wins this one because they can't have it
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: just sit empty for nine days.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: I've said that the last two games, and like this
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: they can't. I mean, they got to have it, like
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: the Pacers, they got to win one.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: Nat Well, I think the difference now is there will
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: be no game until what the sixth next Thursday.
- 1:09:15Speaker 8: See.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: I say that all the time, though, and everyone's like,
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: are you what are you saying it's fixed? Like, well,
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: I mean no, but I mean kind of.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: Everybody says that stuff all the time. You didn't create conspiracy.
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: No no, no, no, no no. And what I'm saying is
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: nobody wants to admit that, like they could have Minnesota
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: win a game to extend the series or else there'd
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: be no basketball.
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: I think a lot of people will admit where there's money, there's.
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: Nefarious behavior, yes, but that's also saying it's fixed. So
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: would you know Kevin would say fixed.
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: I wouldn't say a fix.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: I think there can be influence that affects the ending
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: of a game.
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: That would be fixed. Lawyer, you're trying to do a
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: little lawyer terms over.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: Here, would be for sure altering the outcome to the favor.
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: Of the person.
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: That's the same thing.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: No, it's not, because you can all you can influence
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: the game and still not win it.
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why they would delayed the whistle again. They
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: did it again last night, Like.
- 1:10:10Speaker 7: That's the Pacers did everything they could lose those games.
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: I know, and the reps were also on their sides. Miles, miles.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: So let's say the reps, let's say the rest were
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: trying to extend the game. They did everything they possibly
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: freaking cold.
- 1:10:21Speaker 7: And every real loss and they still lost.
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: So that's not a fix.
- 1:10:23Speaker 7: So the NBA influenced the game, said, what the hell goes?
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: Yeah, they're like, hey, we're trying to influence this game.
- 1:10:28Speaker 7: We shouldn't fix it.
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: But they're in a meeting right now. What's the problem.
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: We just couldn't fix it.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: Okay, that's it, let's end this thing. Thanks to Jim Edmonds,
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: we'll have our interview later on in the week with
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: the pickleball the general manager and the player's pretty fun.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: I go watch that episode up on my Instagram, mister
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: Bobby Bones or let me don't like thirty episodes, just
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: go over to too Much Access dot com.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: And you can see all of the episodes.
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: Final thoughts, Eddie, Yeah, Jim Edmonds, just thanks man for
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: reaching out checking on my foot. We're friends now, we
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: talk all the time. Did he talk to you?
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: He was like, where do the cicadas go? And I
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: was like, storm hit, bro, they're hiding from the storm.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: I guess the ciccadas go. They kind of did go away.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: I don't know if they're back today or wow yea,
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: and might have got swept by the Celtics too.
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: I mean, dude, that's all. I've been on cloud nine
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: because of that. Like Paul Goldschmidt gave me a legiti
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: hut like a legiti hutu. Dude's so good good to me.
- 1:11:20Speaker 7: Too massive a tight end or a linebacker.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: I'm like, dude, dang and my in laws are in town,
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: so we watched a bunch of baseball and I'm like, yes,
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: that's my buddy. Paul A Goldie. I call him Goldie. Yeah,
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: and they're like, are you serious? Like no, yeah, like
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: we hung out. They're like, what are you talking about?
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: How to pull out the videos and everything? Like look,
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: this is me and Goldie and Bobby. That's me on
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: second base. They thought I was much cooler after all that.
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: It is pretty cool.
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: It's pretty awesome, dude, it's not that cool. Your bat's awesome.
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: And that's all I thought about when he hit those homers.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: I'm like, damn, I was going with that bats. Yeah,
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: pretty cool man?
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: Uh uh?
- 1:11:57Speaker 9: Me and Jim are snapchat buddies? Nice? Pretty cool?
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: Are you all really snap No?
- 1:12:03Speaker 9: I didn't add him.
- 1:12:03Speaker 8: I want to thought, yeah, I said your contact, Jim
- 1:12:08Speaker 8: Edmonds is on Snapchat.
- 1:12:09Speaker 9: I got a notification.
- 1:12:10Speaker 7: I was like, oh, I kind of want to click that.
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: You should.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: That's odd, you know, just I know just I'm not
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: even on Snapchat either.
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: Do you still your Snapchat?
- 1:12:19Speaker 8: I literally snapchat Maddie and Stone. That is.
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: Kevin.
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: I know they still got one more series ago, but
- 1:12:28Speaker 5: you know, Celtics get it done. All the haters. Keep
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: Payton said, they're not gonna be that good. They're not
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: gonna beat everybody. And here they are in the finals. Now,
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: you know they've been the best team all year. They're
- 1:12:40Speaker 5: gonna prove it again in the finals. So we got
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: nine days, which kind of sucks. But my thing is
- 1:12:45Speaker 5: when is when did camps open late July?
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: Summer camps?
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: No, not for the kids NFL like.
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: They're happening now, dude, they're rolling late July? Is we
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: have a while?
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:13:03Speaker 4: So like two months? Huh?
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: Like almost two months? Okay, dang, I was really I
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: was really hyped it was going to be earlier than that.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: I was ready to go start doing some too much
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: access for the football, but we kind of can't.
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: We can't and my foot just give it, give it
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: a couple of weeks to heal and then we can
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: start doing drills again. Well you could be a part
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: of the interviews. Oh yeah, I know, I'm just saying,
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: like I want.
- 1:13:26Speaker 5: By the way, his foot is just he got barefoot
- 1:13:28Speaker 5: rocking back here, his booted off.
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: It's really swollen. It's still swollen.
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: I'm sorry, buddy, like that guy on the plane right now.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: I did tell Kevin that, I mean I have to
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: go to the orthopedic to go check up on it,
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: because like all I have is urgent care and they
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: took X rays and that's what they said. But I
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: really can't move my outer toes, so I don't know.
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: Ligament damage is part of it.
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: You keep saying that like you're wishing it.
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: I'm not. I really wish that that's not the case,
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: because if it is the case, I mean, you may
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: have to have surgery for that, right I did. Yeah,
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: And I don't want to do that because that was
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: really Yeah.
- 1:14:00Speaker 8: I don't know what the ligaments called, but mine was
- 1:14:03Speaker 8: like towards my ankle.
- 1:14:04Speaker 9: I just came down wrong in a basketball game.
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: And just rolled it in toward the ligaments. I had
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: to have surgery. Really, how long were you out after that?
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Shoot, probably, like he's still out four months. I've been
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: out for six years. I know, four months. Mm hmm, Eddie,
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: maybe retiring from too much access.
- 1:14:20Speaker 8: I missed so much school, not because of that, but
- 1:14:23Speaker 8: like I lived kind of right off campus to where
- 1:14:26Speaker 8: they don't have like the little trolley things that can
- 1:14:29Speaker 8: come pick you up if you're on crutches or.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: You're in San Francisco.
- 1:14:31Speaker 9: Yeah, I know pretty much.
- 1:14:32Speaker 8: And I was like, I'm not walking, like I can't
- 1:14:34Speaker 8: I'm not going to crutch a mile down the road
- 1:14:37Speaker 8: and I can't.
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: I can't.
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: So you didn't go to school.
- 1:14:39Speaker 7: I just didn't go nice.
- 1:14:40Speaker 8: What about a wheelchair, I will there wasn't really a
- 1:14:43Speaker 8: sidewalk kind of be wheeling down the road.
- 1:14:46Speaker 7: One of those like scooter things that you put your
- 1:14:47Speaker 7: knee on.
- 1:14:48Speaker 8: I had that, but I was like, I don't want
- 1:14:50Speaker 8: to sounds like there were a lot of ways you
- 1:14:51Speaker 8: could have gone to class.
- 1:14:52Speaker 9: Right A mile a mile to get to close.
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: You don't even know that that's true. You could be exaggerating.
- 1:14:57Speaker 9: No, it was a mile. It was like right on
- 1:14:59Speaker 9: the line where they can't come pick me up.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: We're done, goodbye, everybody, We'll see you later on this week.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: We think, all right, goodbye.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: Oh here, hold on hold, oh my god.
- 1:15:11Speaker 10: I
