- 0:01Speaker 1: Now, 710WOR presents The Mark Simone Show. Well, hey, it's Thursday.
- 0:11Speaker 1: It's practically Friday already. We've got a lot to get to.
- 0:14Speaker 1: The Yankees win last night. That's very big. They go
- 0:17Speaker 1: on to the next round. Very good. We'll go over that.
- 0:20Speaker 1: We'll get to President Trump traveling around the country. Three
- 0:24Speaker 1: different states. He's campaigning. We'll get to Iraq. No, not Iran.
- 0:30Speaker 1: We'll get to Iraq. We'll get to Iran, of course.
- 0:32Speaker 1: We'll get to disgusting Cornell University. We'll get to e-bikes.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Speaking of disgusting, we'll get to Andrew Cuomo coming up
- 0:40Speaker 1: with his new $ 9 million Hamptons mansion. Everybody wondering where
- 0:45Speaker 1: the hell did the money come from? And anyway, a
- 0:49Speaker 1: lot to get to. Today we'll get to Kathy Hochul
- 0:52Speaker 1: versus Bruce Blakeman and more. The hijacking story. of that
- 0:57Speaker 1: flight from Dubai. Now, if you're, we just want to
- 1:00Speaker 1: explain it because many people might be New York times readers.
- 1:04Speaker 1: You might be a MSNBC or CNN viewers, and you
- 1:08Speaker 1: didn't get the story. They tried to cover up parts
- 1:11Speaker 1: of the story for you. As soon as that hijacking
- 1:15Speaker 1: incident took place and the terrorist in the cockpit tried
- 1:18Speaker 1: to stab and kill the pilot and then crashed the plane.
- 1:22Speaker 1: If you're watching, uh, The liberal networks or the New
- 1:26Speaker 1: York Times, they were very careful to cover all that up.
- 1:29Speaker 1: The New York Times said it was all about an
- 1:32Speaker 1: altercation among employees. There was an altercation cockpit. And MSNBC,
- 1:41Speaker 1: whatever they call it, has spent the last day desperately
- 1:45Speaker 1: trying to make excuses for why they covered up what
- 1:47Speaker 1: it was, saying, well, they can't report anything they can't confirm.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I could give you a list of 500 things that
- 1:54Speaker 1: were absolutely false. They've reported in the last few months.
- 1:58Speaker 1: It's most people can do that. So it was a hijacking.
- 2:03Speaker 1: It was a terrorist, an extreme religious extremist. The questionable
- 2:10Speaker 1: part here is he was from Oman. He's Omani. And
- 2:14Speaker 1: why this airline had this guy as an employee, you know,
- 2:18Speaker 1: after nine 11, we hardened the cockpits and all those planes.
- 2:21Speaker 1: So if you're in the, passenger area. You can't get
- 2:23Speaker 1: into the cockpit. It's locked. As they say, it's hardened.
- 2:28Speaker 1: You can't get in there. So the plot was this
- 2:32Speaker 1: guy gets a job as a pilot. He's in the cockpit,
- 2:38Speaker 1: middle of the flight, takes out a knife, stabs and
- 2:41Speaker 1: kills the pilot. This was the plot. And then he'll
- 2:43Speaker 1: crash the plane. Now, there's a bunch of questions that
- 2:46Speaker 1: come up. Believe it or not, airline crews and personnel
- 2:49Speaker 1: and pilots are supposed to go through the same security
- 2:52Speaker 1: checks we all do. So how did the guy get
- 2:55Speaker 1: the knife on there? I know they're supposed to go
- 2:57Speaker 1: through these security checks, but I have a feeling when
- 3:01Speaker 1: it comes to the airline crew and pilots, they probably
- 3:05Speaker 1: get a little sloppy on those searches and checks. So
- 3:09Speaker 1: how did that happen? How did an airline fly Dubai?
- 3:13Speaker 1: How did they hire a terrorist? And the guy, people
- 3:16Speaker 1: that knew him and worked with him said, It was crazy.
- 3:20Speaker 1: He seemed crazy. His behavior was weird. He wouldn't touch
- 3:23Speaker 1: a woman or shake hands with a woman. Always praying.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Religious extremist, nut job terrorist. Now, the real question is,
- 3:31Speaker 1: was this a lone wolf, as they say? Was this
- 3:33Speaker 1: a guy acting alone? Or was he part of a cell?
- 3:37Speaker 1: And this is what they got to figure out. Because
- 3:39Speaker 1: if he's part of a group or a cell, they
- 3:41Speaker 1: got to find the rest of them before they try
- 3:42Speaker 1: this again. Now, also, when a plane is coming into
- 3:47Speaker 1: the United States or Israel, Believe it or not, our government,
- 3:51Speaker 1: the Israeli government, they get the passenger manifest ahead of time,
- 3:55Speaker 1: the list of passengers, and they go over it. The
- 3:58Speaker 1: computer does it. AI does it. They go over it,
- 4:00Speaker 1: and they look for anybody on that list who's a
- 4:02Speaker 1: suspected terrorist or something. So it's just the passengers. A
- 4:09Speaker 1: lot of people are saying, now we're going to have
- 4:10Speaker 1: to include the crew and the pilots on that list,
- 4:13Speaker 1: and they'll have to be checked to see who they are.
- 4:16Speaker 1: And generally... if you're Israel, they're very careful. They usually
- 4:23Speaker 1: only allow planes in from countries they have diplomatic relations with,
- 4:27Speaker 1: and they don't with Oman, so I'm not quite sure
- 4:29Speaker 1: why this plane was coming in. Here's one of the
- 4:32Speaker 1: passengers on the flight.
- 4:33Speaker 2: We're here on the plane from Dubai. We're here on
- 4:36Speaker 2: the plane. There was a crazy man with a knife
- 4:38Speaker 2: who stabbed one of the pilots. We jumped and helped
- 4:42Speaker 2: the pilot. Friends, everything's okay. Friends, everything is okay now.
- 4:48Speaker 2: As you can see, we're landing in Saudi Arabia. You
- 4:52Speaker 2: can see I'm fine.
- 4:53Speaker 1: That's it.
- 4:54Speaker 2: We'll see in a few minutes what will happen when
- 4:56Speaker 2: we land.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Boy, that guy is pretty calm. There was an incident.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Imagine if that was an American. People would be going nuts.
- 5:07Speaker 1: A few things, if you were on that plane, a
- 5:10Speaker 1: few things that you were really lucky about, really lucky about. One,
- 5:14Speaker 1: obviously the pilot, he was Indian. He was in a
- 5:17Speaker 1: Incredible hero to survive and continue after being stabbed. But
- 5:23Speaker 1: he was able to send in codes. There's a code
- 5:27Speaker 1: you send to the tower. He was able to let
- 5:29Speaker 1: them know what was happening. He was able to somehow,
- 5:31Speaker 1: with the blood coming out of him, get up and
- 5:33Speaker 1: unlock the cabin door. The other incredible piece of luck
- 5:37Speaker 1: was there were a couple of pilots, off-duty pilots on
- 5:42Speaker 1: the plane. They were able to land the plane. Imagine
- 5:44Speaker 1: if they hadn't been there. A couple of off-duty pilots
- 5:47Speaker 1: just happened to be on the plane. And also you're
- 5:51Speaker 1: lucky as President Trump tweeted out or truth socialed out,
- 5:55Speaker 1: thank Boeing too for making incredible airplanes. That plane, you know,
- 6:00Speaker 1: it was at 30,000 feet and suddenly when the guy
- 6:03Speaker 1: nosedived the plane, in like a second it plunged to
- 6:06Speaker 1: 15,000 feet. President pointing out, give Boeing credit for making
- 6:11Speaker 1: planes so strong and so great that they could withstand
- 6:15Speaker 1: That kind of plunged the G force of it all.
- 6:17Speaker 1: So it was pretty amazing. Uh, when, uh, they, these
- 6:21Speaker 1: guys got off the plane, uh, the, the, the hero that, uh,
- 6:25Speaker 1: this hero who went into the, uh, cockpit and, and
- 6:29Speaker 1: stopped the, uh, lunatic choked him, got him in a chokehold, uh,
- 6:33Speaker 1: Prime Minister Netanyahu is there to congratulate, thank everybody.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Nearly all the passengers on the flight were Israelis. During
- 6:42Speaker 3: the flight, as they were approaching Israel, one of the
- 6:45Speaker 3: pilots stabbed the other pilot and apparently tried to crush
- 6:49Speaker 3: the plane with everyone on board.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Wow. Amazing, amazing story. So you're going to have to
- 6:55Speaker 1: see a lot more security on what airlines are allowed
- 6:58Speaker 1: into Israel, all that sort of stuff. Fly Dubai, I
- 7:02Speaker 1: don't think will be coming in anymore. The idea that
- 7:04Speaker 1: they hired a terrorist and put them in the cockpit. Scary.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Very scary. Hey, we pulled out of Iraq. No, not Iran. Iraq.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Believe it or not, yesterday we withdrew from Iraq. President
- 7:22Speaker 1: Trump very happy about that. We were in Iraq 23 years.
- 7:26Speaker 1: It was 2003 we went in. President Trump yesterday saying
- 7:30Speaker 1: we're getting the hell out. It was the orderly departure
- 7:34Speaker 1: of coalition forces and equipment from the last air base.
- 7:37Speaker 1: We are now officially, totally, completely out of Iraq. We
- 7:42Speaker 1: lost 4,500 soldiers, servicemen and women. 4,500 were killed. Compare
- 7:50Speaker 1: that to Iran. We've only been there six months. 18
- 7:52Speaker 1: have been killed. We had a war, the president pointing out,
- 7:57Speaker 1: we had a war with Venezuela that was only 148
- 7:59Speaker 1: minutes long. That's pretty good. 148 minutes, two hours and
- 8:05Speaker 1: 20 minutes, the whole war. And as far as Iran,
- 8:09Speaker 1: he says, we're going to have that one very quickly. Now,
- 8:11Speaker 1: here's what's going on in Iran. First of all, the IRGC,
- 8:16Speaker 1: this is the terrible worst part of Iran, the terrorist army,
- 8:21Speaker 1: the Israeli, Iranian Republican Guard. They've endorsed the Democrats in
- 8:27Speaker 1: the midterms. Believe it or not, they officially put out
- 8:30Speaker 1: a statement endorsing the Democrats, urging America to vote for
- 8:34Speaker 1: the Democrats. So I don't know if the Democrats will
- 8:37Speaker 1: be running any ads saying the Iranian terrorists have endorsed them,
- 8:42Speaker 1: but that is the case. But here's the story with Iran.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Our intelligence, other countries' intelligence now says Iran has two
- 8:51Speaker 1: to three weeks left. That's it. And then they're totally
- 8:56Speaker 1: out of money. Then they don't have a dime. They're
- 8:59Speaker 1: completely out of cash. Apparently, the meeting between Trump and
- 9:04Speaker 1: Xi convinced Xi to have China stop lending them money
- 9:08Speaker 1: or giving them anything. But Iran should be totally, completely
- 9:13Speaker 1: broke within three weeks. They've only got 15 million barrels
- 9:18Speaker 1: of oil left. Now, that sounds like a lot, but
- 9:20Speaker 1: it's not. That's maybe a day and a half of
- 9:23Speaker 1: oil sales. So they could sell one more day, maybe
- 9:26Speaker 1: two of oil, and then that's it. And then they're
- 9:29Speaker 1: out of cash. So They've been, we've pretty much bankrupted them,
- 9:34Speaker 1: you know, Strait of Hormuz being closed. That's all their revenue.
- 9:37Speaker 1: They've had no revenue for six months coming in, nothing.
- 9:41Speaker 1: You know, when they came to the UN General Assembly,
- 9:44Speaker 1: remember the Iranian president spoke, this is the first time
- 9:47Speaker 1: ever they couldn't afford a hotel room in Manhattan. Every
- 9:52Speaker 1: year when Iran comes and the leader comes and speaks
- 9:54Speaker 1: at the UN, they take a bunch of suites at
- 9:57Speaker 1: the Millennium Hotel across the street. Apparently this year they
- 10:01Speaker 1: could not afford a hotel, so the Iranian president had
- 10:04Speaker 1: to sleep at the embassy this year. So about two
- 10:08Speaker 1: weeks from now, you're going to start to see absolute
- 10:10Speaker 1: collapse of the government without a penny to spend. As
- 10:16Speaker 1: I said, the president going to three states. Today he
- 10:18Speaker 1: goes to Texas. uh, campaigning, and then it'll do two
- 10:22Speaker 1: more States this week. Cornell university, an absolutely disgusting place.
- 10:29Speaker 1: A woman is now detailing the gang rape that took
- 10:34Speaker 1: place at Cornell in a certain fraternity. Uh, there was
- 10:38Speaker 1: a foursome that wanted to have sex with her fraternity brothers.
- 10:42Speaker 1: She said no to this foursome. It looks like she
- 10:46Speaker 1: may have been drugged because all of a sudden she
- 10:48Speaker 1: was passing out. Anyway, the, uh, The foursome had sex
- 10:52Speaker 1: with her and then apparently three more joined in. It
- 10:55Speaker 1: became an eightsome, this whole thing. She says she was raped. Cornell,
- 11:01Speaker 1: it looks like they covered it up initially. Campus police
- 11:06Speaker 1: took a statement from her but did nothing, absolutely nothing. Now,
- 11:10Speaker 1: the other thing is it did apparently at some point
- 11:12Speaker 1: she went to the district attorney, Tompkins County District Attorney.
- 11:16Speaker 1: He did not bring charges at the time. Well, now
- 11:20Speaker 1: that it's big news, he's bringing charges. He said he
- 11:25Speaker 1: reopened the case with new details. Nobody knows what the
- 11:28Speaker 1: new details are, but he should have been on this
- 11:30Speaker 1: from the beginning. As we mentioned yesterday, a lot of
- 11:33Speaker 1: parents who had their students applying to Cornell have withdrawn
- 11:37Speaker 1: those applications, hundreds of applications withdrawn. Cornell, absolutely disgusting place.
- 11:43Speaker 1: This awful, awful gang rape takes place in this fraternity.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And this is the same Cornell with the vicious anti-Semitism
- 11:53Speaker 1: going on. Last week, these kids chanting from the river
- 11:56Speaker 1: to the sea. Just a horrible place, Cornell. It's in
- 11:59Speaker 1: New York, and Governor Hochul is going after them right now.
- 12:03Speaker 4: What happened to this young college student at Cornell University
- 12:06Speaker 4: is nothing short of horrifying and shocking. And I believe
- 12:10Speaker 4: that she deserves justice and there must be accountability. That
- 12:14Speaker 4: is why I called for an outside independent counsel to
- 12:17Speaker 4: conduct an investigation of what exactly transpired.
- 12:20Speaker 1: There you go. Kathy Hochul is all over this. Until
- 12:25Speaker 1: the election. If she wins re-election, then you'll never hear
- 12:28Speaker 1: about it again from her. But we hope Bruce Blakeman
- 12:31Speaker 1: is going to win. the election, but Hochul pretending, acting, well,
- 12:36Speaker 1: maybe she will, but she's acting like she's really going
- 12:38Speaker 1: to take this on, this issue.
- 12:39Speaker 4: People need to know the truth. And I think it's
- 12:42Speaker 4: important for the public, for the victim, her family, and
- 12:47Speaker 4: the university community to know that their university did everything
- 12:51Speaker 4: that they were supposed to do. And if that was
- 12:54Speaker 4: not the case, why? What happened? How do you get
- 12:57Speaker 4: it right the next time? But also, what are the consequences?
- 13:01Speaker 1: The next time? What next time? So she's also suing
- 13:04Speaker 1: the victim. You're calling her Jane Doe. She's suing a
- 13:09Speaker 1: fraternity house, the school, everything. Lawsuit says she was drugged, assaulted,
- 13:14Speaker 1: and gang raped on the campus. Oh, let's talk about
- 13:18Speaker 1: something happier. The Yankees won last night. What was the
- 13:22Speaker 1: first game? Something like 9-0. Last night it was like 9-2.
- 13:26Speaker 1: They just overwhelmed the Red Sox. You know, the Red
- 13:29Speaker 1: Sox are very big on... the computer stuff. You know,
- 13:32Speaker 1: in the good old days, you had a crusty old
- 13:35Speaker 1: manager sitting there on the bench. You had a Casey Stangle,
- 13:37Speaker 1: a Billy Martin, Joe Torrey, you know, watching, studying. They
- 13:42Speaker 1: kind of knew when to take the picture out. They
- 13:44Speaker 1: knew who to send up. They knew that they could tell.
- 13:49Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden, analytics came in, and
- 13:52Speaker 1: now it's all computerized. This is for some teams. Yankees
- 13:55Speaker 1: still old school. But apparently the Red Sox, relying on computers...
- 14:00Speaker 1: You take all the data about each batter, feed it
- 14:03Speaker 1: in the computer, every statistic, everything of the pitcher, and
- 14:06Speaker 1: the computer figures out who should pitch, who should be
- 14:10Speaker 1: taken out of the game, when to put in another pitch.
- 14:13Speaker 1: But the Red Sox and their computer kind of screwed up.
- 14:16Speaker 1: The Yankees, just old-fashioned baseball smarts, won the game. I
- 14:21Speaker 1: hated the announcers in this game. Who the hell were
- 14:23Speaker 1: these announcers? They weren't great. But here's one of the
- 14:27Speaker 1: great moments of the game last night.
- 14:29Speaker 2: If he were to go large here, this place would
- 14:32Speaker 2: absolutely go bonkers beyond belief.
- 14:34Speaker 4: So Cody Bellinger can get the dagger out if he
- 14:37Speaker 4: can do something big here.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Pitch. Swung on. Deep drive.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Right field.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Got a chance.
- 14:45Speaker 3: And there it goes!
- 14:47Speaker 1: A three-run homer!
- 14:48Speaker 3: Cody Bellinger! 8-1 Yankees!
- 14:53Speaker 1: Where the hell did they get these announcers?
- 14:54Speaker 3: It's a home run! Terrible.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Awful. There's got to be a... We no longer have
- 15:03Speaker 1: John Sterling. There's no Phil Rizzuto or Bill White. There's no...
- 15:07Speaker 1: Where's Bob Costas? He's still around, isn't he? There's no
- 15:10Speaker 1: Kurt Gowdy anymore. Who's the great one from Los Angeles?
- 15:13Speaker 1: I'm blanking out on his name. Oh, you know who
- 15:16Speaker 1: I mean. The great... It's got to be a modern-day
- 15:19Speaker 1: equivalent somewhere out there. Michael Kay is still around, right?
- 15:24Speaker 1: But these are the NBC announcers. So the Yankees move
- 15:28Speaker 1: on to the next round. Hey, we'll get to Andrew Cuomo.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Nobody can figure this out. This Andrew Cuomo, who apparently
- 15:37Speaker 1: hates being in New York City, can't stand being in
- 15:41Speaker 1: New York City when he was governor and before that
- 15:43Speaker 1: when he was attorney general. Remember, he always lived in Westchester.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Always lived in Westchester. He did have to, when he
- 15:49Speaker 1: was running for mayor... pretend he lived in New York.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I don't think he got an apartment. I think he
- 15:55Speaker 1: used his daughter's apartment. You have to pretend you're living
- 15:57Speaker 1: in New York City to run for mayor. So he
- 16:00Speaker 1: had to move into an apartment for a while. As
- 16:01Speaker 1: soon as the voters rejected him, he got the hell
- 16:05Speaker 1: out of here. Now he just bought a $ 9 million
- 16:08Speaker 1: compound in the Hamptons. Now he is a big car guy.
- 16:12Speaker 1: He loves cars. Loves driving, loves cars. So if that's
- 16:17Speaker 1: the case, if you're a car guy, you can't really
- 16:19Speaker 1: live in New York. You got to Live somewhere where
- 16:22Speaker 1: you can drive your cars around, where you got a
- 16:23Speaker 1: big garage for all of them. So anyway, we'll get
- 16:26Speaker 1: to this. His $ 9 million compound. He wanted to be
- 16:29Speaker 1: near the brother. And as Curtis, I heard Curtis say,
- 16:35Speaker 1: it's a bunch of houses. It looks like the Corleone compound.
- 16:38Speaker 1: We'll get to that coming up and a lot more.
- 16:41Speaker 1: It's Mark Simone here. Nine to noon every day. Nine
- 16:44Speaker 1: to noon every day here on 710WOR.
