- 0:05Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to The Right Time, presented by PrizePix.
- 0:10Speaker 1: My name is Bomani Jones. Thanks for listening wherever you
- 0:11Speaker 1: get your podcasts. Thanks for watching us on YouTube. Subscribe, like,
- 0:16Speaker 1: rate us, review us, give us five stars. You only
- 0:18Speaker 1: give us four stars. I'm inclined to believe you are
- 0:21Speaker 1: a hater. It is that time of week where we
- 0:23Speaker 1: have a guest join us, coming to us live from scenic,
- 0:27Speaker 1: not New York, New York. Check him out on First
- 0:29Speaker 1: Things First, 5 o'clock Eastern. Danny Parkins, what's going on, man? Bo.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Great to be here. How are you, my friend?
- 0:36Speaker 1: Well, I already walked people through on Monday my experience
- 0:41Speaker 1: of Sunday during the game, sharing in the good times
- 0:46Speaker 1: with both you and Jason Goff, and then you and
- 0:49Speaker 1: Jason Goff not sharing the bad times after your quarterback
- 0:53Speaker 1: went off on a cart. But did you feel better
- 0:55Speaker 1: when you found out that he was walking around? Like,
- 0:58Speaker 1: is there any cause for optimism here? And how do
- 1:01Speaker 1: you feel about the fact that he's trying to look
- 1:03Speaker 1: just like Jason Campbell?
- 1:05Speaker 2: Okay. So I have a lot of opinions, obviously. And
- 1:09Speaker 2: if the accusation is that I'm a fair weather, FaceTimer
- 1:13Speaker 2: guilty as charged. Oh my God, dude. Like that play
- 1:21Speaker 2: before the field goal. I was like, he's Neo in
- 1:24Speaker 2: the matrix. Like my quarterback is a magician and, Like,
- 1:28Speaker 2: I will answer all of your calls. And then when
- 1:31Speaker 2: he went down and I saw you call, I was like, no.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I'm sure you weren't going to twist the knife completely,
- 1:38Speaker 2: but I couldn't deal with it in the moment.
- 1:40Speaker 1: No, no, I came to be helpful, by the way.
- 1:43Speaker 1: You decided, you know what? Maybe I'll be a better dad, huh?
- 1:47Speaker 1: Maybe I'll go hug the kid.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I was doing Legos during the four o'clock sleep.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Doing some Batman Legos with my man Owen, the six-year-old. Yeah,
- 1:56Speaker 2: it was a... Listen, I am thrilled. Like all things considered,
- 2:03Speaker 2: I thought the season was over and it was going
- 2:05Speaker 2: to be 11 months before I could watch Caleb Williams
- 2:07Speaker 2: play football again. Like that's what I thought, right? And
- 2:11Speaker 2: so any penance or price that I have to pay
- 2:15Speaker 2: with memes on the internet and jokes, I will take
- 2:19Speaker 2: for the fact that they're not ruling him out for
- 2:21Speaker 2: Monday night football against the Eagles. Now, I do not
- 2:23Speaker 2: expect him to play Monday night against the Eagles, but...
- 2:25Speaker 2: but like the fact that they're not talking about the IR,
- 2:27Speaker 2: that he could be back in a week or two
- 2:29Speaker 2: or three, I will pay any amount of internet price
- 2:33Speaker 2: that I have to pay for that result because he's
- 2:37Speaker 2: the man. He's the man.
- 2:39Speaker 1: He's the man.
- 2:40Speaker 2: It's like, get, get your jokes off. Now sell your stock.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Now I would recommend buying the dip personally, but like,
- 2:49Speaker 2: My quarterback is the man, and I am totally comfortable
- 2:53Speaker 2: and confident that he will have the last laugh.
- 2:55Speaker 1: So I feel like your quarterback exists in an interesting
- 2:59Speaker 1: state that we don't see very much in today's football,
- 3:04Speaker 1: which is if I were to put John Elway's stats
- 3:09Speaker 1: in front of you, particularly for the pre-Shanahan era, you
- 3:14Speaker 1: really don't have much of a reason to understand what
- 3:17Speaker 1: the big deal is here from what people have talked about.
- 3:21Speaker 1: And then you'll watch it and you're like, Oh, so
- 3:25Speaker 1: we took, we got some granite and we made a quarterback.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Isn't that something, right? Like the all-time eye test guy.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Caleb Williams, to me, is kind of existing in that space,
- 3:36Speaker 1: even to a degree in that first game, which is
- 3:39Speaker 1: part of why Pro Football Focus said that there were
- 3:42Speaker 1: like 20 quarterbacks who were better than him. When you're
- 3:45Speaker 1: watching it, it does not look like that at all.
- 3:47Speaker 1: And you feel like, and I think this is really
- 3:49Speaker 1: kind of all you can ask for as a fan,
- 3:51Speaker 1: and it's extra fun, especially when you don't root for
- 3:53Speaker 1: a guy like that, is anything can happen right now.
- 3:57Speaker 1: The ceiling on what he can do on one play
- 4:02Speaker 1: is higher than, I don't know, higher in the world
- 4:04Speaker 1: with Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, but it is way
- 4:07Speaker 1: up there.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it is on that level. I think
- 4:10Speaker 2: an individual talent basis, like physical talent, eye test, I
- 4:14Speaker 2: talk about eye test all the time. I think he's
- 4:16Speaker 2: a 99 percentile guy. And so it's wildly fun. And
- 4:22Speaker 2: no doubt, the stats are not there yet, but It's
- 4:26Speaker 2: year three in the league, year two in Ben Johnson's system. Like,
- 4:29Speaker 2: I do believe the stats were coming, and I don't
- 4:32Speaker 2: think that's being some sort of homer. They scored 59
- 4:34Speaker 2: fucking points in week one, and Ben Johnson got Jared
- 4:40Speaker 2: Goff to have ridiculous stats. So, like, I have no
- 4:43Speaker 2: reason to believe.
- 4:43Speaker 1: The stats were coming. Was that supposed to be me, man?
- 4:45Speaker 2: Was that supposed to be me? I'm just saying Caleb
- 4:47Speaker 2: might be a little bit more physically talented. He might
- 4:49Speaker 2: be a little bit more gifted than Jared Goff. And
- 4:55Speaker 2: so I think the stats were inevitable and were coming
- 5:00Speaker 2: and still are going to. And I think he is
- 5:04Speaker 2: going to– I've said it all along. We've talked about
- 5:07Speaker 2: it a little bit. He models his game after Rodgers.
- 5:12Speaker 2: And one of the most impressive, if not the most impressive,
- 5:16Speaker 2: individual quarterback seasons of my lifetime is Aaron Rodgers' 2011
- 5:20Speaker 2: when it was 45 touchdowns, six interceptions. Cause he also
- 5:26Speaker 2: was up there at the top in yards per attempt.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Like there was no check down to his game and
- 5:31Speaker 2: he didn't turn the ball over and he was a
- 5:33Speaker 2: big game hunter and he put the ball in the
- 5:35Speaker 2: end zone. Like Caleb doesn't turn the ball over. He
- 5:38Speaker 2: recently has developed the ability to not really take sacks
- 5:42Speaker 2: and he goes for big plays and he has that
- 5:45Speaker 2: eye test. Wow. Arm strength, escapability and physical ability that
- 5:50Speaker 2: makes you believe that anything is possible at any given moment,
- 5:52Speaker 2: like you're talking about. So Caleb, I think seasons and
- 5:56Speaker 2: stretches of play like that are coming. And I think
- 5:59Speaker 2: they're coming sooner than later.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I think, though, I the only thing about modeling yourself
- 6:04Speaker 1: after Aaron Rodgers is Aaron Rodgers is risk averse to
- 6:07Speaker 1: a fault. Like, I do think that our modern interpretation
- 6:10Speaker 1: of just about all sports overvalue efficiency. Right? Like, overvalue the, oh,
- 6:17Speaker 1: as long as you don't ever take a step back.
- 6:19Speaker 1: And kind of what I like about Caleb Williams is, no, no, no, no, no.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Every now and then, hey, baby, we making omelets. You
- 6:24Speaker 1: understand what I'm saying? Yeah.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Right?
- 6:26Speaker 1: Like, that's what he's doing out there. We are making omelets.
- 6:30Speaker 1: They only scored three points, though, and it wasn't looking good.
- 6:32Speaker 1: And I'm with you. I've watched your coworkers try to
- 6:36Speaker 1: pick on you, chastise you. Right? It was terrible weather.
- 6:40Speaker 1: And we know this for the reason that you pointed out.
- 6:42Speaker 1: The Bears only gave up nine points.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Okay. What am I missing in that argument that I
- 6:48Speaker 2: feel like is iron clad and indisputable. And, and when
- 6:53Speaker 2: they push back on me and they're like, well, the
- 6:55Speaker 2: Vikings have Carson Wentz or like the Vikings aren't talking
- 6:58Speaker 2: about being the greatest offense in the history of the sport.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Like fine. Like if that's why the bears have to
- 7:04Speaker 2: catch more jokes because their coach is talking the talk
- 7:07Speaker 2: and for a game, he didn't walk the walk. I
- 7:10Speaker 2: will accept that. Like, If you talk big and then
- 7:13Speaker 2: you fail, people are going to celebrate your downfall. That's life.
- 7:18Speaker 2: That's sports. I have no problem with it. And I
- 7:21Speaker 2: can also tell you, Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams have
- 7:23Speaker 2: no problem with that either. Catching the memes is fine.
- 7:29Speaker 2: The Vikings scored 39 points in Week 1. They have
- 7:33Speaker 2: Justin Jefferson. If I would have said to you, hey,
- 7:36Speaker 2: going into that game against the Bears defense, they're going
- 7:39Speaker 2: to have less than 250 yards. they're going to be
- 7:42Speaker 2: three of 13 on third down and they are going
- 7:44Speaker 2: to have zero touchdowns. You would have thought that it
- 7:47Speaker 2: was Noah's Ark, like biblical type of weather. So something
- 7:52Speaker 2: tells me that the conditions in that game played a
- 7:55Speaker 2: massive factor in how low scoring and inefficient the offense was. Like,
- 8:00Speaker 2: I don't think that's a stretch. Nobody thinks that Dennis
- 8:03Speaker 2: Allen dominated Kevin O'Connell. So to come out of the
- 8:06Speaker 2: game declaring some sort of like long-term victory against of
- 8:10Speaker 2: Brian Flores over Ben Johnson, given those were the conditions
- 8:13Speaker 2: both ways, just seems ridiculous to me.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I will tell you this, though. I am starting to
- 8:17Speaker 1: feel like Minnesota's going to win that division.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Well, they're the favorite now. They've won seven straight games
- 8:24Speaker 2: dating back to last year, and remarkably, the last four
- 8:27Speaker 2: that they've won have been with four different quarterbacks. That
- 8:30Speaker 2: has never happened before in the history of the NFL.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Four straight wins, four different starters. So they are a
- 8:36Speaker 2: good team. I will.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I will reserve judgment on that because we'll see. I
- 8:43Speaker 2: know you're bullish on Kyler Murray. I liked the Kyler
- 8:45Speaker 2: Murray addition for them too. His first pass with them
- 8:49Speaker 2: was an interception. Like there can be a learning curve
- 8:53Speaker 2: for guys going into completely new systems. We're seeing it
- 8:57Speaker 2: with my other guy, Justin Herbert, which I'm sure we'll
- 8:58Speaker 2: talk about at some point in Los Angeles. Like I'm
- 9:01Speaker 2: not confident that he can't lose you a game right now.
- 9:04Speaker 2: So this division I think is far from over. And
- 9:07Speaker 2: before the year I said that it was the only
- 9:08Speaker 2: division in football that where all four teams could win
- 9:11Speaker 2: it and all four teams could lose it. So I
- 9:14Speaker 2: still think it's wide open.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I just saw the Vikings go 2-0 with Carson Wentz. Yep.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I just watched a team win a Super Bowl with
- 9:25Speaker 1: Sam Darnold. I would also like to point out to people,
- 9:29Speaker 1: Drew Locke looked pretty good on Sunday, which implies to
- 9:34Speaker 1: me that that Sam Darnold thing might not be what
- 9:37Speaker 1: people keep insisting that it is. He might be, as
- 9:41Speaker 1: I call him, same Darnold. Perhaps slightly improved. Maybe better
- 9:44Speaker 1: than he was before, but not different. He's same Darnold.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Same Darnold's out there. I just feel like you could
- 9:51Speaker 1: do okay with Kyler Murray.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I think that they will do okay with Kyler Murray also.
- 9:57Speaker 2: I completely agree with you. I'm not... wouldn't write off Detroit.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Their secondary is ravaged with injuries. Their offense is awesome
- 10:06Speaker 2: and their schedule is easy. And I would not write
- 10:09Speaker 2: off the Bears because I still think their offense is
- 10:12Speaker 2: going to be supreme. And Caleb Williams is not going
- 10:16Speaker 2: to miss a lot of time. And by the way,
- 10:18Speaker 2: they beat the Eagles last year on black Friday. So
- 10:21Speaker 2: if it's case Keenum, I think that's a problem, but
- 10:22Speaker 2: the Eagles offense looks terrible through two games. The Eagles
- 10:25Speaker 2: have beaten Washington and Tennessee by a grand total of
- 10:28Speaker 2: six points. Like, I'm not conceding Monday night football yet,
- 10:32Speaker 2: no matter who's quarterback.
- 10:33Speaker 1: So it's interesting because when I have tuned in and
- 10:35Speaker 1: seen the Eagles, it is while Jalen Hurts is playing well.
- 10:39Speaker 1: And then I look at it and like, you're barely
- 10:41Speaker 1: beating Bums, right? Because I tried, you know, you and
- 10:44Speaker 1: I are both, we've talked about this many times. We
- 10:45Speaker 1: have the same problem with Jalen Hurts, which is, We
- 10:48Speaker 1: have our ideas of how good he is or more
- 10:51Speaker 1: accurately how good he is and not, except for those
- 10:53Speaker 1: two times he outplayed Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Correct.
- 10:56Speaker 1: It's a complicating situation. When I've looked in, he's been
- 11:00Speaker 1: standing tall in the pocket. He's been making things happen.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I went back and looked at them stats and like, damn,
- 11:04Speaker 1: where'd them two interceptions come from? They weren't while I
- 11:06Speaker 1: was watching them out there looking good.
- 11:09Speaker 2: They have two wins. Some of his numbers are pretty good.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Devontae Smith, I think, is really good. I don't think
- 11:18Speaker 2: the plan, though, is 30-plus pass attempts per game. Like,
- 11:24Speaker 2: I'm just pulling up his numbers. His numbers are fine.
- 11:26Speaker 2: His quarterback rating's over 100. You would obviously take that.
- 11:29Speaker 2: But I want to go real quick. The concerning thing
- 11:33Speaker 2: for me with the Eagles would be Saquon Barkley and
- 11:37Speaker 2: their offensive line. Saquon has 19 carries through two games
- 11:41Speaker 2: with 92 rushing yards. Like, that's just not the plan.
- 11:46Speaker 2: They are supposed to be a good rushing team. Tank
- 11:49Speaker 2: Bixby has 14 carries. Saquon has 19. Tank Bixby's averaging
- 11:53Speaker 2: two and a half yards a carry. Like, the Eagles
- 11:56Speaker 2: are supposed to be able to be a team that
- 11:59Speaker 2: crushes you on the ground, and then Jalen Hurts can
- 12:02Speaker 2: play off of that. I think that they've been in
- 12:05Speaker 2: too many situations where Jalen Hurts is need to pass
- 12:07Speaker 2: them out a third down, and to his credit, through
- 12:10Speaker 2: two games against bad teams, he has done it. But
- 12:14Speaker 2: Maybe they beat the Bears with their backup quarterback situation
- 12:17Speaker 2: and their bad defense on Monday night and their 3-0.
- 12:19Speaker 2: They got the Rams in week four. I do not
- 12:21Speaker 2: think they can beat the Rams if they have not
- 12:23Speaker 2: figured out their run game and their offensive line looks
- 12:25Speaker 2: broken right now.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Look, offensive line matters most in determining what your rushing
- 12:31Speaker 1: output is going to be. The running back is kind
- 12:33Speaker 1: of cherry on top. Their cherry on top is in
- 12:37Speaker 1: year nine, I believe this is. He was the pick
- 12:42Speaker 1: after Mayfield, right?
- 12:43Speaker 2: Yes. Yeah.
- 12:44Speaker 1: So he's in year nine. So you have an offensive
- 12:47Speaker 1: line that's not as good as it used to be.
- 12:48Speaker 1: And we just keep operating on the assumption that you
- 12:50Speaker 1: can just keep trotting these running backs out here and
- 12:53Speaker 1: they're going to be as good as they had been
- 12:55Speaker 1: at any other point, which I just don't think is sustainable.
- 12:58Speaker 1: New offensive coordinator, a head coach that despite all his success,
- 13:03Speaker 1: I don't take seriously. Maybe you do, but I don't
- 13:06Speaker 1: find myself doing that. But it looks set up for
- 13:10Speaker 1: them to be 3-0 with a point differential of 8.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Correct. And listen, Philly fans get mad at me. They
- 13:18Speaker 2: probably get mad at you. I got plenty of positive
- 13:20Speaker 2: things to say. I think their defense might end up
- 13:23Speaker 2: being excellent. They have a ton of talent. Landon Dickerson
- 13:29Speaker 2: is hurt. He's supposed to be excellent. Maybe he comes back.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Maybe the offensive line improves. There's clearly a path here.
- 13:35Speaker 2: And to your point, you are again dealing with a
- 13:37Speaker 2: new offensive coordinator and a new system implementation. And with
- 13:40Speaker 2: how little these guys play in the preseason, that takes time.
- 13:44Speaker 2: And teams, how they look in September is not how
- 13:46Speaker 2: they will be in November and December. So I am
- 13:48Speaker 2: open to the possibility that it gets better for their
- 13:52Speaker 2: offense and that their defense just carries them. But I just–
- 13:57Speaker 2: they are very, very fortunate that they opened with Washington
- 14:01Speaker 2: and Tennessee. They are very, very– I do not think
- 14:03Speaker 2: that they have played like a 2-0 team. They've, to me,
- 14:06Speaker 2: played closer to an 0-2 team than a 2-0 team.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Yeah, this is... They're so interesting. There's literally no telling
- 14:14Speaker 1: how it's going to go with those guys. Anything feels
- 14:19Speaker 1: like it's on the board. They went to a Super Bowl,
- 14:22Speaker 1: to almost getting the coach fired, to winning a Super Bowl,
- 14:26Speaker 1: to last year, where I still kind of feel like
- 14:28Speaker 1: if they hadn't won the Super Bowl before, they might
- 14:29Speaker 1: have been thinking about firing the coach. I think about
- 14:32Speaker 1: firing the coach every day.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and... if, if it doesn't work this year, you
- 14:37Speaker 2: can't just fire Sean Mannion again. Like you can't just
- 14:39Speaker 2: keep firing offensive coordinators. Like eventually the buck will stop
- 14:42Speaker 2: beyond that.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 2: We've talked about Jalen hurts and he doesn't have guaranteed
- 14:46Speaker 2: money going forward on his contract. But to your point,
- 14:50Speaker 2: they could win 13 games. Like, like they, they absolutely
- 14:54Speaker 2: have talent there that could win 13 games. So I,
- 14:57Speaker 2: it's a wide variance outcome type of team. And I
- 15:01Speaker 2: get why Philly fans are protective of it. I do it.
- 15:05Speaker 2: I would be too if it was my team, honestly.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Hey, man, I want to stay in that division because
- 15:09Speaker 1: I want to contend that you actually got lucky on
- 15:11Speaker 1: Monday night. You did. And I want to say that
- 15:14Speaker 1: you would never like wish injury upon somebody just so
- 15:18Speaker 1: like you could look good. But at the same time,
- 15:20Speaker 1: the Giants went about to win that goddamn division, and
- 15:23Speaker 1: now their quarterback looked like he hurt for the whole year.
- 15:25Speaker 1: So you don't really have to answer for that one.
- 15:28Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Thank you. I think you
- 15:31Speaker 1: spared yourself from where that was going. But at the
- 15:34Speaker 1: same time, while I say that, we're talking about how
- 15:36Speaker 1: iffy Philly is and how bad Washington is. And the Cowboys, okay. Right?
- 15:44Speaker 2: They already took a loss to the Giants.
- 15:45Speaker 1: They did. They did. You were looking great. I tell you, boy,
- 15:49Speaker 1: you were riding high last Monday. It was all setting
- 15:53Speaker 1: up for you. Now the Giants are just going to
- 15:54Speaker 1: be hilarious because it's going to be Jameis until they
- 15:57Speaker 1: get tired of it.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and Jameis, I assume he will look better with
- 16:02Speaker 2: a week of game planning as the starter.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I don't know why.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, listen, because he can't look worse. Because
- 16:08Speaker 2: he can't look worse. I mean, that was outrageous. I mean,
- 16:11Speaker 2: he was just chucking the ball 60 yards down the field.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Yo, I love that about him, though.
- 16:16Speaker 2: So do I, five years ago.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Well, no, this is what I mean. I feel like
- 16:20Speaker 1: there are two kinds of backup quarterbacks, and it really
- 16:22Speaker 1: didn't become clear to me until one of the recent
- 16:25Speaker 1: Joe Flacco runs. And most of these backup quarterbacks are
- 16:28Speaker 1: these young guys. They only know so much of the offense, right?
- 16:32Speaker 1: And they're just going to try to nickel and dime it,
- 16:35Speaker 1: do whatever it is that they feel like they can
- 16:37Speaker 1: manipulate from the offense or whatever. Them old cats like
- 16:41Speaker 1: Flacco and Jameis, they're like, yo, suckers do what they can.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Real ones do what they won't. And they're like, you're
- 16:49Speaker 1: not going to win doing that other shit. We have
- 16:51Speaker 1: a chance of winning if I start bombing. And so
- 16:54Speaker 1: Jameis is always here for bombing. And Jameis is, Jameis
- 17:00Speaker 1: to me, he's a pattern reader. And so if he
- 17:04Speaker 1: sees a couple things and he thinks he knows where
- 17:06Speaker 1: it's going. He makes that decision immediately, but he's also Mr.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Magoo.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I think he got his eyes fixed, but before it
- 17:13Speaker 1: was Mr. Magoo. So he'd be making these half cock decisions.
- 17:16Speaker 1: He's thinking about it, but next thing you know, Oh man,
- 17:19Speaker 1: there's somebody standing right there. Ain't that something like this
- 17:22Speaker 1: is going to be a hoot. Yeah.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Oh, always. And listen, Jay, one of the first takes
- 17:29Speaker 2: on national TV of mine that went like kind of
- 17:32Speaker 2: viral and did really well back when I was doing
- 17:33Speaker 2: the morning show, was I outlined the full Jameis. And
- 17:38Speaker 2: I was like, I want Jameis to be somebody's quarterback.
- 17:41Speaker 2: I just don't want him to be my quarterback. And
- 17:44Speaker 2: how we will never see again Jameis Winston's 2019, 5,000 yards,
- 17:51Speaker 2: 30 touchdowns, 30 interceptions. It will never happen again. He
- 17:54Speaker 2: had a game in 2024, Cleveland against Denver, where he
- 17:56Speaker 2: had nearly 500 yards passing. Like, he's just a tough guy.
- 18:05Speaker 2: I think it was four interceptions. Like, he's a tough
- 18:08Speaker 2: guy to figure out. But it's YOLO. He's fun. It's
- 18:11Speaker 2: just not going to win in the modern age. And
- 18:13Speaker 2: I will say, Jackson Dart, man, kind of a playmaker. Like, yeah,
- 18:20Speaker 2: now he's out and now he's hurt. But I.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Do I think he is a guy that I would
- 18:26Speaker 2: want to hang out with? You know what I mean?
- 18:27Speaker 2: I'm not saying I, people like when I backed Jackson Dart,
- 18:30Speaker 2: people were like, how could you do that? Because he
- 18:32Speaker 2: did this. I'm like, man, I'm not talking politics here.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Like I thought he was dealt a shitty hand as
- 18:38Speaker 2: a rookie and he scored a lot of points, like
- 18:41Speaker 2: 24 touchdowns, seven turnovers, zero games with Malik neighbors, play
- 18:45Speaker 2: caller and coach fired six games into his career, offensive
- 18:49Speaker 2: line injuries. And he scored multiple touchdowns in 10 of
- 18:52Speaker 2: 12 games. ran all over the field. I was like, man,
- 18:56Speaker 2: I think that there's a talent there. And then in
- 18:58Speaker 2: week one, he proved me right. And then in week two,
- 19:01Speaker 2: he got hurt like everybody said he would.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I think Jackson Dart is playmaker is a fair characterization,
- 19:08Speaker 1: much like their current quarterback, Jabez Winston.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:12Speaker 1: He makes plays right now. I'm not saying Jackson Dart
- 19:15Speaker 1: and Jabez Winston are the same. And I am saying
- 19:17Speaker 1: that I thought that Jackson Dart looked good. in that
- 19:21Speaker 1: first game. There is a bit of an irony, though,
- 19:25Speaker 1: that he was standing in the pocket doing what he
- 19:28Speaker 1: was supposed to do, and that's where he wound up
- 19:30Speaker 1: getting hurt. What I worry about with him, the two
- 19:33Speaker 1: guys that immediately jumped to mind that fit this characterization
- 19:36Speaker 1: to me are Robert Griffin and Colt McCoy, and that
- 19:42Speaker 1: is two guys where, for whatever reason, when they get hit,
- 19:48Speaker 1: it looks like rock just got hit.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:52Speaker 1: It is straight. Like you expect the sonic coins to
- 19:55Speaker 1: come out of them whenever they get hit. It is
- 19:58Speaker 1: not just a little tiny hit. It is like, like Zonk.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Like the word needs to be on the screen when
- 20:06Speaker 1: it happens.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Yeah. I, Also, the broadcast of that hit and then
- 20:13Speaker 2: all of the subsequent reporting and what was going on
- 20:15Speaker 2: on the internet, people were like, oh, the trainer said
- 20:18Speaker 2: four to six weeks. Jackson Dart wants to come back
- 20:21Speaker 2: into the game. I think Jackson Dart is going to
- 20:23Speaker 2: be fine because he was up in the air when
- 20:25Speaker 2: it happened. There was a lot of speculation that was
- 20:28Speaker 2: going on, and I was like, I don't know. It
- 20:31Speaker 2: looked awful to me.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Do you think Jackson Dart
- 20:35Speaker 1: knew why he was in the tent that time?
- 20:38Speaker 2: I think he did.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Yeah, for those of you who don't know, that boy said,
- 20:41Speaker 1: I don't understand why they keep sending me to the tent,
- 20:43Speaker 1: which is what I realized that I would not copy
- 20:45Speaker 1: off of his paper. When he got in there, I
- 20:47Speaker 1: wonder what he thought they was in.
- 20:49Speaker 2: There to do. Right. Listen, again, I'm not saying that
- 20:52Speaker 2: I want to get beers with the dude. I just
- 20:55Speaker 2: think that he's a playmaker and I would be excited
- 20:57Speaker 2: about his potential as a quarterback. Because I also think,
- 21:00Speaker 2: to your Jameis point a little bit, I'm not terribly
- 21:04Speaker 2: interested in trying to model myself after Brock Purdy.
- 21:06Speaker 1: It's working.
- 21:07Speaker 2: It's working. And good for Brock Purdy. He's playing unbelievable. But, like,
- 21:12Speaker 2: I want you to display some sort of high-end playmaking ability.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Oh, see, that's interesting you say that because I think
- 21:19Speaker 1: of Brock Purdy as a playmaker.
- 21:24Speaker 2: I think of him as a great processor.
- 21:28Speaker 1: He got a lot of YOLO in him too, boy.
- 21:31Speaker 1: He doesn't go the ball in harm's way. I worry
- 21:35Speaker 1: that you might be filing a little bit, Danny Parkins.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I might be.
- 21:38Speaker 1: You might be holding it against him just a little bit.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Jackson Dart got that misspelled name, so you think that
- 21:43Speaker 1: he's more likely to do playmaker type things. But Brock
- 21:46Speaker 1: Purdy right there.
- 21:49Speaker 2: See, okay, Brock Purdy to me is– I see it.
- 21:54Speaker 2: He doesn't have great arm strength, so he sees it
- 21:57Speaker 2: faster than most people, but he gets the ball out quick.
- 21:59Speaker 2: And yes, will he run a little bit? For sure.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Does he run too much for my liking? Yeah, because
- 22:04Speaker 2: he's not big and strong. But I personally look at
- 22:07Speaker 2: Brock Purdy as like he executes Kyle Shanahan's offense. That
- 22:12Speaker 2: is to me what I see. I see him as
- 22:13Speaker 2: an extension of his coach. I'm not saying like brainiac.
- 22:16Speaker 2: I'm just saying like he sees the play and he
- 22:18Speaker 2: gets the ball out of his hands. Jackson Dart, John
- 22:23Speaker 2: Harbaugh was talking about using him like Lamar Jackson. I
- 22:27Speaker 2: think he was going to run his ass around a lot.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I have to say, when I saw John Harbaugh say that,
- 22:34Speaker 1: I was like, hey, buddy, buddy, buddy. I know you
- 22:38Speaker 1: feel like you kind of got to do that, right?
- 22:40Speaker 1: Because he was your last quarterback and you want to
- 22:42Speaker 1: instill some confidence in him. But that's a futuristic thinking
- 22:46Speaker 1: that I simply don't possess.
- 22:49Speaker 2: I hear you. I'm just saying no one would say
- 22:50Speaker 2: that about Brock Purdy. Fair. No one would say that
- 22:54Speaker 2: about Brock Purdy.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Maybe John Harbaugh would say that because that was just
- 22:57Speaker 1: what he was obligated to say. Is that maybe it?
- 23:01Speaker 2: I normally think of Jim as the more hyperbolic Harbaugh
- 23:06Speaker 2: when he said that Justin Herbert is the greatest quarterback
- 23:09Speaker 2: of all time, among other things. But I guess John
- 23:12Speaker 2: has a little Jim in him.
- 23:14Speaker 1: I mean, they came out of the same house.
- 23:16Speaker 2: They did. He's got it better than us.
- 23:18Speaker 1: And they are two wide-eyed optimists.
- 23:22Speaker 2: They are.
- 23:23Speaker 1: That's how they got to where they are, is through straight-ahead,
- 23:28Speaker 1: wide-eyed optimism. I asked you about one more team before
- 23:30Speaker 1: we go into break. Are you optimistic about the New
- 23:35Speaker 1: England Patriots? Because I came away from looking at that
- 23:38Speaker 1: game simply thinking that the Steelers are going to stink,
- 23:42Speaker 1: and Aaron Rodgers is cooked, and the Patriots are going
- 23:46Speaker 1: to be in a Drake may will not get an
- 23:49Speaker 1: extension at the end of this year. That's my hot take. Wow. Wow.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I think the Patriots.
- 23:56Speaker 1: May be willing to offer him one, but not at
- 23:59Speaker 1: the price that he thought he might be able to
- 24:02Speaker 1: get one, say like a CJ Stroud situation.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Okay. That, yeah. I mean, that is a flaming hot take.
- 24:10Speaker 2: I love it.
- 24:10Speaker 1: I mean, look, man, how many games in a row
- 24:13Speaker 1: has he looked bad?
- 24:14Speaker 2: No, I mean, we're at, what six yeah I mean
- 24:18Speaker 2: it's a lot of them you know you're you're right
- 24:22Speaker 2: um I want to well I listen I know I'll
- 24:27Speaker 2: come on again um I want to revisit that one
- 24:29Speaker 2: every time we come on because I know.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Because I might because you might get to turn this
- 24:34Speaker 1: back around oh no no no.
- 24:35Speaker 2: No listen listen I but I just like I had
- 24:39Speaker 2: not even considered the possibility like I thought like Caleb
- 24:42Speaker 2: and Drake will get their offers and they will get more.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Cause like the goal, the goal, if you know, you
- 24:47Speaker 2: have the guy, you want to sign him as early
- 24:51Speaker 2: as possible. Like there's just, that's just how it works.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Like you don't want to, the reason that Stroud didn't
- 24:58Speaker 2: get a real offer is because they weren't sure they
- 25:00Speaker 2: had the guy.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:03Speaker 2: The same thing with Bryce Young. Like you're not sure
- 25:05Speaker 2: you have the guy in the fifth year option. The
- 25:06Speaker 2: franchise tag are those types of protections for the teams
- 25:09Speaker 2: that I just can't see a world where, yeah, it
- 25:14Speaker 2: was against an easy schedule, and I know wins are
- 25:16Speaker 2: not a quarterback stat, but runner-up for league MVP, wins
- 25:21Speaker 2: the AFC in his second year in the league, he
- 25:27Speaker 2: checks all the physical boxes, right? Like, Bryce Young does
- 25:30Speaker 2: not check all the physical boxes. I can't see a
- 25:35Speaker 2: world where they decide, Three years from now, we don't
- 25:40Speaker 2: want Drake May to be our quarterback.
- 25:41Speaker 1: I guess what I'm saying is I don't think he's
- 25:44Speaker 1: going to have a good season.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Yeah, no.
- 25:46Speaker 1: And if he doesn't have a good season, then they're
- 25:49Speaker 1: going to try to hit him with one number. And
- 25:52Speaker 1: I think that his side will be like, okay, I
- 25:55Speaker 1: think we're going to need to wait this out. But
- 25:57Speaker 1: the perception, I do not think, the way we talk
- 26:01Speaker 1: about Drake May as MVP runner-up last year, those aren't
- 26:04Speaker 1: going to be the terms that we use. I think
- 26:07Speaker 1: at the end of this season, like I was watching
- 26:09Speaker 1: Dominique on his show and was talking about watching Drake
- 26:11Speaker 1: may play. And there's not a lot of cause for optimism.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Here right now. I agree. I agree. I mean, Wilds
- 26:18Speaker 2: was like, I'm keeping my eye on a shoulder injury.
- 26:21Speaker 2: And Nick was like, you can't keep your eye on
- 26:23Speaker 2: an injury when he's not listening on the injury report.
- 26:25Speaker 1: And for those who don't know Kevin Wilds, who is
- 26:27Speaker 1: a co-host of first things first is a Patriots fan.
- 26:29Speaker 1: So that is him whistling past the graveyard and hoping
- 26:32Speaker 1: that actually his quarterback isn't a lemon.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Correct. That is 100% true. I do not think he
- 26:42Speaker 2: is a lemon. I will be interested to... They opened
- 26:46Speaker 2: with Seattle and Pittsburgh. And he lost A.J.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Brown.
- 26:50Speaker 2: And they have offensive line questions like last year. I
- 26:53Speaker 2: will be very... I'm willing to hold on to my
- 26:59Speaker 2: priors a little bit longer... on Drake May, who I
- 27:02Speaker 2: also loved coming out of college.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Like I was doing radio in Chicago and it was like,
- 27:06Speaker 2: Caleb's the guy. I bought a custom Caleb Williams Bears
- 27:10Speaker 2: jersey before that, like before the season was even over.
- 27:13Speaker 2: I was like, this is the goal. But in draft season,
- 27:17Speaker 2: I was like, Drake May is the guy that I
- 27:19Speaker 2: thought was the reasonable number two pick between him and Jaden.
- 27:23Speaker 2: And I thought that Jaden was going to be really good,
- 27:25Speaker 2: but I had it flipped. So I like Drake May,
- 27:29Speaker 2: but That would be that would be fascinating if Caleb's
- 27:32Speaker 2: the only guy out of that class who gets a
- 27:34Speaker 2: contract because Jaden won't. No, no, no.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Unless he how long is he going to be out
- 27:39Speaker 1: with the busted elbow? Because it's the it's the left elbow, right?
- 27:42Speaker 2: Yeah. But like they're they're saying he doesn't want to
- 27:46Speaker 2: do surgery, but he's now had a couple of elbow dislocations. Like,
- 27:50Speaker 2: I don't know, man, that is a. That is risk.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Because he also looked dynamic before he got hurt. Oh,
- 27:57Speaker 2: you know who will get a contract? Bo Nix will
- 28:00Speaker 2: get a contract.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Oh, there's that guy.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Bo Nix will get a contract.
- 28:04Speaker 1: But I think that's another one where it'll be interesting
- 28:06Speaker 1: to see what the team is willing to pay. Because
- 28:08Speaker 1: we were hearing well into last season, your buddy Colin
- 28:12Speaker 1: Coward talking or implying that Sean Payton might not have
- 28:17Speaker 1: been happy with Bo Nix. And I'll say it. If
- 28:22Speaker 1: Colin Cowherd is telling you that he thinks that Sean
- 28:24Speaker 1: Payton is not happy with Bo Nix, it's probably because
- 28:28Speaker 1: Sean Payton told him that. That's on the board is
- 28:31Speaker 1: all I'm saying.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Oh, I know. Colin does not make any secret that.
- 28:36Speaker 2: I mean, he used to have Sean Payton on all
- 28:37Speaker 2: the time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He does not make any
- 28:38Speaker 2: secret about that.
- 28:39Speaker 1: I just want to be clear. I'm not saying that
- 28:41Speaker 1: it was a Sean tells Colin, Colin goes.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. I don't know that to be
- 28:45Speaker 2: true or not.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't think he would not say that
- 28:48Speaker 1: if he did not have some implication from the man
- 28:51Speaker 1: himself that there was such a problem. And we're going
- 28:54Speaker 1: to find out how Sean Payton actually feels about him, right?
- 28:57Speaker 1: Maybe it's going to be with all these guys. With
- 29:00Speaker 1: the exception of Caleb Williams, because unless things go horribly
- 29:02Speaker 1: this year, hey, man, you sold this too hard. Everybody's
- 29:04Speaker 1: got to be in on this. But I think there's
- 29:06Speaker 1: a good chance that, well, there's an offer for you
- 29:08Speaker 1: right here if you're willing to take this year for
- 29:10Speaker 1: the low, low price of da-da-da. And guys are going
- 29:14Speaker 1: to be like, nah, I think I can play myself
- 29:16Speaker 1: over that. With Jaden Daniels, what I think is going
- 29:18Speaker 1: to be interesting, especially... with you saying that the team
- 29:21Speaker 1: seems to talk of surgery, but he doesn't want to
- 29:24Speaker 1: have the surgery. If the team wants to have the
- 29:26Speaker 1: cert wants him to have surgery and he is not
- 29:28Speaker 1: going for the surgery, we're going to find out pretty
- 29:30Speaker 1: soon just how sick they are of him and his mama.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Again, and like, I'm not, I don't have any
- 29:35Speaker 2: extra insight into it. Just, but it seems like they
- 29:37Speaker 2: are not ready to have a complete decision on how
- 29:40Speaker 2: they are going to handle another elbow dislocation for a
- 29:42Speaker 2: skinny quarterback they need to be healthy and it's just
- 29:46Speaker 2: like we showed on the show the other day all
- 29:49Speaker 2: of the times he's been hurt since he's been in
- 29:51Speaker 2: the league obviously i'm not a tough individual i wear
- 29:55Speaker 2: makeup to work okay They are normal-looking hits, is I
- 30:01Speaker 2: think the fair thing to say. They are not like
- 30:02Speaker 2: the Jackson Dart hit. That was a play where he
- 30:06Speaker 2: wasn't even really hit. He just kind of fell and
- 30:09Speaker 2: put his arm down to brace himself, and his elbow
- 30:11Speaker 2: went backwards, and Tom Brady cursed on TV. They felt injury-prone.
- 30:21Speaker 2: It felt like these types of things would keep happening.
- 30:23Speaker 2: I would not be comfortable paying Jaden Daniels.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Coming up next, we're going to find out if
- 30:28Speaker 1: our good buddy Danny Parkins is still 10 toes down
- 30:32Speaker 1: for Justin Herbert. Oh, my God. Football is finally back,

- 32:05Speaker 1: with Danny Park. Let's check him out. First things first,
- 32:07Speaker 1: 5 o'clock Eastern on FS1. You got yourself in there
- 32:11Speaker 1: on that Justin Herbert thing, which, I mean, I'll be
- 32:13Speaker 1: honest with you. I watched it when it started. It
- 32:15Speaker 1: felt like he was just doing something for TV one day,
- 32:17Speaker 1: and then you couldn't get out. You know what I mean?
- 32:19Speaker 1: And that happens sometimes. And now you're kind of stuck
- 32:21Speaker 1: on this, and the Chargers look like one of the
- 32:23Speaker 1: worst teams in the NFL. And we say that because
- 32:25Speaker 1: they lost to two teams that we thought were going
- 32:28Speaker 1: to be two of the worst teams in the NFL,
- 32:30Speaker 1: and they lost both of those games. I don't want
- 32:32Speaker 1: to say at home. but at the stadium where they
- 32:34Speaker 1: play the majority of their games.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
- 32:37Speaker 1: You know what I mean? That's maybe the best way
- 32:39Speaker 1: to put it. So, like, what's up with your mans?
- 32:44Speaker 2: Listen, I mean, he has not been good enough. Hold on,
- 32:47Speaker 2: hold on, hold on.
- 32:48Speaker 1: You said that you had one word too many there.
- 32:50Speaker 1: You said he has not been good enough. He has
- 32:53Speaker 1: not been good, Bo. He has not been good.
- 32:57Speaker 2: And listen, and I said before the year, and this
- 32:59Speaker 2: is not any sort of rocket science take, No team
- 33:03Speaker 2: needed a fast start more than the Chargers because, as
- 33:05Speaker 2: you pointed out, they opened Arizona and Vegas at home,
- 33:09Speaker 2: air quotes, and then their next seven at Buffalo, at Seattle,
- 33:15Speaker 2: home against Denver, at Kansas City, at the Rams, home
- 33:19Speaker 2: against Houston, at Baltimore. It is arguably the hardest seven-game
- 33:24Speaker 2: stretch I have ever seen in an NFL schedule. The
- 33:27Speaker 2: only saving grace is that there's a bye week in there.
- 33:29Speaker 2: It is ridiculous. So they are in massive trouble, and
- 33:35Speaker 2: the odds are only 15% of teams that start 0-2
- 33:38Speaker 2: make the playoffs. Their season's probably over. As someone who
- 33:42Speaker 2: has a lot of take equity invested in Justin Herbert,
- 33:46Speaker 2: I will point out two things. One, and this is
- 33:50Speaker 2: from the preseason, I am not alone. Like, There is still,
- 33:57Speaker 2: when Jeremy Fowler puts out his ESPN list and he
- 34:00Speaker 2: quotes all the coaches, scouts, and executives, and they rank
- 34:03Speaker 2: all of the players, and it's like, who are the
- 34:05Speaker 2: top 10 quarterbacks? Who are the top 10 receivers? Justin
- 34:08Speaker 2: Herbert was seventh. Seventh in the NFL before this year.
- 34:12Speaker 2: That is off of that playoff game. That is off
- 34:14Speaker 2: of 0-3. These guys are trying to evaluate individual talent
- 34:19Speaker 2: amidst the team game. And so the guys who do
- 34:21Speaker 2: it for a living, who scout it, say he's the
- 34:24Speaker 2: seventh best quarterback in the world. even though his two
- 34:27Speaker 2: worst games of his career are in playoff games. So
- 34:30Speaker 2: like it's, they agree with me. That's the preseason point.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Having watched every snap of both Chargers games, this is
- 34:39Speaker 2: not to absolve him. I promise it is not. He
- 34:42Speaker 2: is the person who is supposed to execute this offense.
- 34:45Speaker 2: It appears to me very clear that they are not
- 34:49Speaker 2: up to speed on what Mike McDaniel is trying to do. Dude,
- 34:55Speaker 2: And it went viral, so you didn't have to watch
- 34:57Speaker 2: the whole game. Justin Herbert is in the dude's grasp.
- 35:00Speaker 2: He's side-arming 25 yards down the field. It is going
- 35:04Speaker 2: to hit the dude in the chest who's standing there.
- 35:07Speaker 2: And his teammate, Manny Ramirez, dives and deflects it away
- 35:12Speaker 2: from his own teammate. He played defense against his own
- 35:17Speaker 2: receiver who was standing still. It was insane. Trey Harris...
- 35:21Speaker 2: is coming in motion. I'm one of those like, Hey,
- 35:23Speaker 2: we're going to do the pre-snap window dressing stuff. And
- 35:26Speaker 2: they snap the ball into the dude in motion. Joe
- 35:30Speaker 2: Alt leads the league in penalties. He's got five of
- 35:34Speaker 2: them through two games. They are, then you see like
- 35:38Speaker 2: the tight ends, the ball is perfectly in his hands
- 35:40Speaker 2: and it tips off and it becomes an interception. Like,
- 35:43Speaker 2: and that's not the system. That's just the chargers being
- 35:45Speaker 2: the chargers. Like they are not up to speed yet
- 35:50Speaker 2: on McDaniel and I love the McDaniel hire most people
- 35:54Speaker 2: seem to McDaniel and Harbaugh is a weird fit just
- 35:58Speaker 2: like about everything and so like the I think it
- 36:02Speaker 2: is clearly taking them time and they're probably screwed like
- 36:07Speaker 2: if you call if you say that's an excuse I
- 36:09Speaker 2: will wear it but like they're snapping the ball into
- 36:12Speaker 2: dudes who are in motion it looks like a team
- 36:16Speaker 2: that needed more preseason.
- 36:17Speaker 1: To I'll say a couple of things. I thought you did.
- 36:21Speaker 1: I thought you did pretty well, to be honest. Number one,
- 36:24Speaker 1: if Jim Harbaugh was not quite as famous as Jim
- 36:27Speaker 1: Harbaugh is, they went into year three without winning a
- 36:30Speaker 1: playoff game. And they come out of this year like
- 36:32Speaker 1: five and twelve under almost any other circumstance for firing
- 36:36Speaker 1: the coach.
- 36:37Speaker 2: I agree.
- 36:37Speaker 1: And I don't know if that I mean, that circumstance
- 36:40Speaker 1: may exist here, but I think that people need to.
- 36:42Speaker 1: start warming themselves up to the idea. I find that
- 36:46Speaker 1: when coaches get fired and people are shocked, it's just
- 36:48Speaker 1: because they waited too long to warm themselves up to
- 36:51Speaker 1: the idea. For example, last year, Sean McDermott and John Harbaugh,
- 36:55Speaker 1: obvious candidates to get fired if you just took their
- 36:57Speaker 1: names off and ran through what the circumstances were. They'd
- 37:01Speaker 1: be like, yeah, you guys are going to get either
- 37:02Speaker 1: to championship game or the Super Bowl or the coach
- 37:05Speaker 1: is going to get fired. If Harbaugh comes out here
- 37:07Speaker 1: with this team and they win like five games, the
- 37:10Speaker 1: coach probably gets fired.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, if they're willing to eat the money.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:14Speaker 2: If they're willing to eat the money.
- 37:15Speaker 1: That's just, I mean, and I guess this is the Chargers,
- 37:18Speaker 1: so you never know about that, right? Point number two,
- 37:20Speaker 1: and it's something that I think we're seeing have an
- 37:23Speaker 1: effect all around the league, and I'm curious what you
- 37:24Speaker 1: think about this. At some point, don't you get out
- 37:28Speaker 1: here and run some plays during the preseason? Like this
- 37:30Speaker 1: seems to be having an obvious effect on the quality
- 37:33Speaker 1: of play for the league in general, but just for
- 37:35Speaker 1: individual teams and their successes. That's not to say that
- 37:38Speaker 1: you got to get out here and play four quarters,
- 37:40Speaker 1: but is it really that bad a thing to run
- 37:44Speaker 1: your guy out, run your guys out there for a
- 37:46Speaker 1: drive or maybe a quarter? And I think the argument
- 37:48Speaker 1: against it obviously is what if they get hurt? And
- 37:50Speaker 1: I'm saying if they are going to get hurt in
- 37:53Speaker 1: that preseason game like that, That same injury was going
- 37:56Speaker 1: to happen when the regular season started, right? You're just
- 37:59Speaker 1: kind of pushing off when it goes down.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Yeah. So, and the chargers, they were so bad in
- 38:04Speaker 2: their first preseason game and it was a very small
- 38:08Speaker 2: amount of plays. They brought them back in the second
- 38:11Speaker 2: preseason game and they had a 65 yard touchdown in
- 38:14Speaker 2: the Quinton Johnston and everybody celebrated like crazy, subbed everybody out,
- 38:18Speaker 2: but they ran five plays in the game. They just
- 38:20Speaker 2: happened to connect on one of them. And they are
- 38:22Speaker 2: saying again, cause I'm, so knee deep in this. I'm
- 38:25Speaker 2: like reading Charter's beat writers. Like they are saying that
- 38:30Speaker 2: the execution that they're seeing in practice is just not
- 38:32Speaker 2: translating to the games. I tend to be a rest
- 38:35Speaker 2: guys in the preseason because you want to be healthy.
- 38:38Speaker 2: But as always, I think these things need to evolve.
- 38:41Speaker 2: If you are implementing new systems, I think you need
- 38:44Speaker 2: to play your guys in the preseason is where I'm
- 38:47Speaker 2: at right now. Like Sean McVay doesn't play anybody in
- 38:49Speaker 2: the preseason, but he's also been there for forever and
- 38:52Speaker 2: he's got a veteran quarterback. Like If you are, hey,
- 38:55Speaker 2: we've done things one way for forever. Jim Harbaugh has
- 38:58Speaker 2: worked with Greg Roman for a long time, right? It's like, okay,
- 39:01Speaker 2: now you're gone. And now here comes Mike McDaniel. And
- 39:04Speaker 2: we're going to do more pre-snap motions and more exotic
- 39:07Speaker 2: formations and more misdirection and eye candy than we've ever
- 39:11Speaker 2: done before. You probably need to actually get live reps
- 39:15Speaker 2: of that outside of, you know, these controlled environments of
- 39:18Speaker 2: the team scrimmages, which, oh, by the way, is where
- 39:20Speaker 2: their center got hurt. So, yeah, I think that they've
- 39:23Speaker 2: messed up on that regard. Jim Harbaugh said it after
- 39:27Speaker 2: the opener. He's like, I regret not playing guys in
- 39:29Speaker 2: the preseason.
- 39:30Speaker 1: More.
- 39:30Speaker 2: So, you know, again, they're probably screwed. Like Sean McVay
- 39:37Speaker 2: fell on the sword for how he handled the Australia trip.
- 39:41Speaker 2: And I thought that was great leadership, but it might
- 39:43Speaker 2: cost them home field. Like, you know what I mean?
- 39:46Speaker 2: It doesn't mean it wasn't a huge mistake. It means, like,
- 39:49Speaker 2: good job taking accountability for it, but at the end
- 39:51Speaker 2: of that season in that division, it might cost you
- 39:53Speaker 2: winning the division, losing that division game. The Chargers not
- 39:58Speaker 2: putting more real live reps into their preseason when they
- 40:02Speaker 2: were overhauling their system as much as they were, good
- 40:05Speaker 2: chance it's going to end up costing them their entire
- 40:07Speaker 2: season because there's no reason they should be 0-2 right now.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Um, you had mentioned the 49ers a little bit earlier. Um,
- 40:14Speaker 1: they came out okay from the Australia game and then
- 40:16Speaker 1: they got lucky because they didn't have to play a
- 40:19Speaker 1: real game when they came back. They got to play, um,
- 40:22Speaker 1: against the dolphins. Now they get a home game against the, uh,
- 40:25Speaker 1: maybe better than we thought one and one Arizona Cardinals. Um,
- 40:31Speaker 1: It would be very interesting if the 49ers can keep
- 40:34Speaker 1: going with this because I think we agree that's the
- 40:36Speaker 1: best division in the league, or at least at the
- 40:37Speaker 1: very top, that is the best division in the league.
- 40:39Speaker 1: I thought they were pretty sure to wind up being third.
- 40:43Speaker 1: That doesn't look like it's going to happen, but it
- 40:45Speaker 1: still can. Seattle is still undefeated, and the Rams looked
- 40:48Speaker 1: good on Monday night.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Seattle, I think, is going to make a real run
- 40:53Speaker 2: at the Patriots' 21 consecutive wins.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it's almost like they're the defending Super Bowl champions.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Isn't that crazy?
- 41:01Speaker 2: I know.
- 41:01Speaker 1: I know.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Who could have seen it coming except people who watched
- 41:06Speaker 2: football last year? Yeah, they're really good. On the subject
- 41:10Speaker 2: of the Niners, though, they finished in third place in
- 41:15Speaker 2: that division last year. That's true. And won 12 games
- 41:19Speaker 2: last year and were the third most injured team in
- 41:22Speaker 2: football last year. So the argument for the Niners before
- 41:26Speaker 2: this year was very simple because everyone was like, well...
- 41:29Speaker 2: Trent Williams and Fred Warner and George Kittle and Nick Bosa,
- 41:32Speaker 2: their best players are old, so they are more likely
- 41:34Speaker 2: to get injured again. Completely agree. Can you be slightly
- 41:39Speaker 2: less injured than last year? Can you be the 20th
- 41:43Speaker 2: most injured team in football instead of the 29th? And
- 41:46Speaker 2: then you won 12 games. Now you were not fielding
- 41:52Speaker 2: a competitive roster in that playoff game. against Seattle. That
- 41:57Speaker 2: was an easy spot to see that they were going
- 41:59Speaker 2: to get blown out. But they're really good. They are
- 42:03Speaker 2: really well coached, and it's a really good roster, so
- 42:05Speaker 2: long as it's healthy. And right now, wide receiver notwithstanding,
- 42:10Speaker 2: it is a pretty healthy version of the Niners, so
- 42:12Speaker 2: they're really good.
- 42:14Speaker 1: You want to laugh at something right, Fass?
- 42:16Speaker 2: Let's do it.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Do you realize how sorry the Falcons are?
- 42:21Speaker 2: Dude, they haven't had a red zone play yet.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Play they have not had to ball in the red
- 42:25Speaker 1: zone once like it's the bad old days like they
- 42:29Speaker 1: are they are on a crazy run of not making
- 42:31Speaker 1: the playoffs the the thing now is but we're just
- 42:34Speaker 1: waiting for michael pennix to come back and i don't
- 42:36Speaker 1: think that's cause for optimism at.
- 42:38Speaker 2: All um i mean it is relative to cooper rush yeah.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Or cooper rush and the big fella that they that
- 42:45Speaker 1: they brought in after that like oh yeah what was
- 42:48Speaker 1: that dude jack stand i think his name is yeah
- 42:51Speaker 1: jack They are so bad, and I say all that
- 42:55Speaker 1: to say, Packers better not lose to them.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, yeah, that would be a disaster for
- 43:02Speaker 2: Green Bay. Yeah, Jack Strand, hilarious. Yeah, that would be
- 43:06Speaker 2: a horrifying loss for Green Bay, who hasn't won a
- 43:09Speaker 2: game without Micah Parsons dating back to last year, and
- 43:12Speaker 2: they keep blowing all these double-digit leads. Green Bay's in
- 43:15Speaker 2: a weird spot. They've got an offensive coach who's conservative.
- 43:19Speaker 2: That would drive me absolutely insane. You have a good quarterback.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Use him. I know their offensive line is injured. They're
- 43:27Speaker 2: starting two backup guards, but that would drive me insane
- 43:31Speaker 2: if I was a Packers fan. In Atlanta, the team
- 43:37Speaker 2: building didn't make sense. First round pick on Drake London,
- 43:40Speaker 2: first round pick on Bijan Robinson, first round pick on
- 43:43Speaker 2: Kyle Pitts, no pass rush, no quarterback. And then when
- 43:47Speaker 2: they feel like they need a quarterback... They do Pennix
- 43:49Speaker 2: and Cousins at the same time. And then they're like,
- 43:51Speaker 2: oh yeah, we forgot about pass rush. And they trade
- 43:53Speaker 2: a future first round pick to move back into that
- 43:56Speaker 2: draft and take the dude, like Pierce in the middle
- 43:59Speaker 2: of the first round, who's not available.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a problem.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Yeah, to put it mildly. And, but so it's like,
- 44:09Speaker 2: they forgot to invest in the two most important parts
- 44:13Speaker 2: of a team and then to try to like band-aid
- 44:16Speaker 2: over it they did it in, like, the most expensive
- 44:19Speaker 2: way possible. Top pick on Pennix and $ 180 million on Cousins.
- 44:24Speaker 2: First-round pick on a pass rusher and a future first-round
- 44:27Speaker 2: pick on a pass rusher, overdrafting both guys. So, like,
- 44:29Speaker 2: they just... It's been a very poor way to build
- 44:32Speaker 2: a football team.
- 44:34Speaker 1: You see why I quit that, right?
- 44:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that was smart. Self-preservation.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, you've stuck it out with
- 44:42Speaker 1: your guys. I....
- 44:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, man. I... Loyal to a fault. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 44:48Speaker 2: I have the same friends since third grade.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I like to think of myself as being loyal.
- 44:53Speaker 1: I'm afraid that my attitude about the Falcons is a
- 44:56Speaker 1: reflection of a character flaw. But I also feel like
- 44:58Speaker 1: if I'm being real, man, I'd like to think that
- 45:02Speaker 1: I'm an inspiration. Sure. You know what I mean? I'd
- 45:06Speaker 1: like to think that I'm showing people that you don't
- 45:08Speaker 1: have to stay in toxic, unhealthy relationships. That's my thought.
- 45:11Speaker 1: But right now, the Falcons have a worse point differential
- 45:13Speaker 1: than the Dolphins. They got destroyed by the Panthers. The Panthers,
- 45:20Speaker 1: who gave up 59 points to the Bears, gave up
- 45:23Speaker 1: three to the Falcons. And again, they're playing bum quarterbacks.
- 45:27Speaker 1: I just don't know how much better it's going to
- 45:28Speaker 1: be when they bring out their one-legged quarterback, who may
- 45:30Speaker 1: be a no-legged quarterback because I feel like he's torn
- 45:32Speaker 1: up both of those knees.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Yeah, he's got three ACLs now, right? Dating back to college.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Well, I'd assume he has none, but yes.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Well, yeah, yeah, yeah. Good point. Somewhere between zero and two. Yes.
- 45:45Speaker 2: But I believe he's torn it three times. He at
- 45:48Speaker 2: least will throw the ball down the field. Like, he
- 45:52Speaker 2: will throw the ball outside the hash marks. Like, he's
- 45:56Speaker 2: got a strong arm. I don't know if he can
- 45:58Speaker 2: throw it in the middle of the field. I don't
- 45:59Speaker 2: know if he can't just throw bullets to everybody. But, like,
- 46:02Speaker 2: he will at least... Throw the ball, which Cooper Rush
- 46:06Speaker 2: does not do. The week one game against Pittsburgh, one
- 46:10Speaker 2: of my favorite things from that game, was B. John
- 46:14Speaker 2: Robinson had 10 targets. The rest of the Falcons pass
- 46:18Speaker 2: catchers had nine. Like he just, he was like, snap,
- 46:23Speaker 2: dump it off to B. John. And then T.J. Watt
- 46:25Speaker 2: had that pick six because they finally figured out the
- 46:27Speaker 2: only thing they needed to do was guard the swing pass.
- 46:33Speaker 2: do you want to talk about what's happening to my
- 46:34Speaker 2: guy caleb online or do you not want to.
- 46:37Speaker 1: I'm not aware of what's going on with him online
- 46:39Speaker 1: let me know oh stop yes you are no i'm not.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Okay the memes are hilarious i've got no problem with
- 46:51Speaker 2: the memes you know it's like uh me on the hospital,
- 46:58Speaker 2: me on the uncomfortable couch after my wife goes through labor,
- 47:01Speaker 2: fist bump in the air with the towel, right? Like
- 47:04Speaker 2: me after I burn the top of my mouth with
- 47:07Speaker 2: Hot Pockets.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Got it.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Towel, fist, hilarious. But like the worst people are having
- 47:17Speaker 2: the worst takes and they're talking about his toughness. They're
- 47:22Speaker 2: talking about fingernail painting.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Oh, it's back now.
- 47:25Speaker 2: It's so bad. But, like, not from bots, dude. I
- 47:28Speaker 2: am not strawmanning this. I don't really want to say
- 47:30Speaker 2: their names because some of them are people that I
- 47:32Speaker 2: have worked with or, like, whatever. But, like, ex-NFL players
- 47:36Speaker 2: calling him soft.
- 47:38Speaker 1: I did see one. The one where you cool with
- 47:41Speaker 1: his brother.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Yeah. And we haven't talked in a while. But, yes,
- 47:47Speaker 2: that would be one. A guy on his show actually
- 47:51Speaker 2: used the word soft. That guy said, you just can't
- 47:53Speaker 2: do it. It's reserved for the sacred thing.
- 47:56Speaker 1: That being right out on the cart.
- 47:58Speaker 2: Right out on the cart and cry. Ex-offensive lineman said
- 48:02Speaker 2: you just can't do it over a hamstring injury. People
- 48:06Speaker 2: talking about sexual orientation. People talking about nails. People talking
- 48:10Speaker 2: about how Chicago will never embrace him. I just... The
- 48:14Speaker 2: dude got sacked 68 times his rookie year and didn't
- 48:17Speaker 2: miss a game. He is objectively tough. And I am...
- 48:22Speaker 2: In the NBA... One of the criticisms of some of
- 48:26Speaker 2: the ex-players is that all they do is shit on
- 48:29Speaker 2: the current product. How can you be these guys who
- 48:32Speaker 2: played in the NFL and question his toughness when it's like,
- 48:38Speaker 2: I don't know, I saw Jackson Dart get hurt and
- 48:40Speaker 2: try to get back into the game and walk around
- 48:43Speaker 2: and stand up. Maybe he should have gotten on the cart. Like,
- 48:46Speaker 2: it just... It blows my mind... how I mean it
- 48:52Speaker 2: shouldn't because that I was going to say like how
- 48:53Speaker 2: dumb people could be or how reckless people could be
- 48:55Speaker 2: with their opinions because like that's obviously not true I've
- 48:57Speaker 2: been around the block long enough to know that but
- 48:59Speaker 2: it's just a uh and maybe I'm protective of my
- 49:03Speaker 2: guy on some level but it just feels like lowest
- 49:06Speaker 2: hanging fruit and again I have no problem with the
- 49:08Speaker 2: memes the memes are funny and fans should make memes
- 49:12Speaker 2: and he thought his season was over and he might
- 49:14Speaker 2: be back in a week like he's got to catch
- 49:16Speaker 2: jokes for that I have no problem with jokes I
- 49:19Speaker 2: do have a problem with the projection on his toughness
- 49:24Speaker 2: or the idea that he isn't masculine enough for the
- 49:26Speaker 2: guy on the internet to wear his makeup to work.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Yeah. I didn't know that we were still doing the
- 49:30Speaker 1: fingernail painting thing, which I'll be honest, not my speed,
- 49:34Speaker 1: but I do not take as I'm not extrapolating too
- 49:38Speaker 1: much out of this except for the fact that it
- 49:39Speaker 1: looks ridiculous.
- 49:41Speaker 2: That's fine. Again, personal preference.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. But I just didn't, I, I, I thought
- 49:46Speaker 1: that that, I thought we had gotten done with that though.
- 49:48Speaker 1: I guess it's just going to be a thing. A
- 49:50Speaker 1: that pops up every now and then, and B everybody's
- 49:53Speaker 1: got a microphone and nobody's got an editor. Like that
- 49:57Speaker 1: to me is the part about the podcast economy that
- 49:59Speaker 1: we don't talk nearly enough about. The issue isn't that
- 50:02Speaker 1: it's too many microphones. The issue is that it's not
- 50:04Speaker 1: enough producers to, Not enough people to be like, hey,
- 50:07Speaker 1: we're not going to do that. Yeah. They're like, no,
- 50:10Speaker 1: we're just going to ride this out.
- 50:12Speaker 2: And listen, I get it. Like, I'm trying to not
- 50:14Speaker 2: say any names, even though people can figure it out.
- 50:16Speaker 2: But like, because like the idea of clickbait and like it,
- 50:20Speaker 2: they're just using his name to get attention to their thing.
- 50:26Speaker 2: But some of these people don't need it. They've got
- 50:28Speaker 2: all the money in the world and they've got plenty
- 50:29Speaker 2: of attention. It just, I'd be embarrassed. I'd be embarrassed.
- 50:36Speaker 2: And I think that shame has just left the station
- 50:39Speaker 2: a long time ago.
- 50:40Speaker 1: I will say this, though. He has one tough guy
- 50:43Speaker 1: ally in this, and that is Leonard Fournette. Dude, I
- 50:47Speaker 1: saw that. Leonard Fournette is way near the you don't
- 50:52Speaker 1: want it list. Number one, he's from New Orleans, and
- 50:55Speaker 1: I ain't met a sucker from New Orleans yet.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Not once.
- 50:58Speaker 1: I don't think you want problems with any of them.
- 51:01Speaker 1: He offered to pull up on you bad about it.
- 51:04Speaker 2: That would, I would click.
- 51:07Speaker 1: For anyone who remembers, Leonard Fournette was out of the game.
- 51:12Speaker 1: I think it was his last home game at LSU.
- 51:14Speaker 1: He had been declared out for that game. He could
- 51:17Speaker 1: not play. There was a fight between the two teams
- 51:20Speaker 1: before the game. Leonard Fournette goes out there on one
- 51:24Speaker 1: leg and after that declares, I'm going to play. Like,
- 51:29Speaker 1: he did not turn into the football player that we
- 51:32Speaker 1: thought that he was going to turn into. But he
- 51:34Speaker 1: stayed a dude that I don't think you want no
- 51:36Speaker 1: problems with.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Yeah. And, like... He calls you out for your take,
- 51:43Speaker 2: and you just tell him he needs to learn how
- 51:45Speaker 2: to read.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I wouldn't have done that.
- 51:48Speaker 2: It's so corny.
- 51:49Speaker 1: For a number of reasons.
- 51:51Speaker 2: I would not have done that. Yeah, for a number
- 51:53Speaker 2: of reasons.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Like, that's... Yeah, nah, nah, nah. But, yeah, if Lenny say.
- 51:59Speaker 1: Lenny say he tough. I'm a roll with Lenny.
- 52:03Speaker 2: Amen.
- 52:04Speaker 1: All right. Last day before we get done with this, man,
- 52:07Speaker 1: we'd like to do this thing with you. Danny Parkins
- 52:11Speaker 1: lives in the mean streets of Westchester County. That's right.
- 52:15Speaker 1: It'd be rumble tumble out there. And he gets a
- 52:17Speaker 1: chance to look at the, the police blotter from the
- 52:21Speaker 1: newspaper about what's going on out there in his hometown.
- 52:25Speaker 1: We got any, we got any, we got some new goodness.
- 52:27Speaker 2: We got some goodness. I think you guys are going
- 52:30Speaker 2: to enjoy these. This is pretty good. All right. Number one.
- 52:35Speaker 2: A Colonial Road resident told police that his wife's American
- 52:39Speaker 2: Express card was fraudulently used to purchase $ 752 worth of shoes.
- 52:48Speaker 2: Methinks that the wife bought the shoes.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 52:51Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Here's the other thing about that. They didn't just call
- 52:55Speaker 1: American Express. You called the cops.
- 52:58Speaker 2: Call the cops. Call the cops. Yeah. I'm not disputing
- 53:02Speaker 2: the charge. I'm not canceling the card. I'm getting law
- 53:05Speaker 2: enforcement involved.
- 53:07Speaker 1: And hold on. Do you have an American Express?
- 53:10Speaker 2: No, I'm a Chase guy.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Okay. I only bring this up to say this. They
- 53:15Speaker 1: have a very delicate fraud alert on there.
- 53:19Speaker 2: Right?
- 53:20Speaker 1: He did not get the text message raising the question
- 53:23Speaker 1: as to whether or not it was fraud.
- 53:26Speaker 2: I I also would say, just given what my wife
- 53:29Speaker 2: says about some of the women around here and the
- 53:33Speaker 2: cost of their shoes, my wife has some nice shoes.
- 53:37Speaker 2: She's like, the wife 100% bought $ 752 worth of shoes.
- 53:44Speaker 2: Because $ 752 of shoes does not even turn, you don't
- 53:46Speaker 2: even get a head turn around here. All right, next one.
- 53:50Speaker 2: A driver on Tisdale Road told police that another driver
- 53:53Speaker 2: spit on his car and he followed the driver to
- 53:56Speaker 2: confront him. The two began arguing and when police arrived,
- 53:59Speaker 2: the other driver told them he had a medical condition
- 54:02Speaker 2: that caused him to spit and it accidentally hit the
- 54:04Speaker 2: other car. In the newspaper.
- 54:12Speaker 1: This is, boy, that's what they call the cops for, huh?
- 54:15Speaker 2: Dude, it's the best. It's the best. We can keep
- 54:17Speaker 2: it moving. A resident of Montrose Road reported that her
- 54:21Speaker 2: Grubhub donut delivery may have been drugged even though the
- 54:25Speaker 2: container was sealed. Shortly after eating a blueberry glazed donut,
- 54:29Speaker 2: she felt fatigued and her eye began to twitch. The
- 54:32Speaker 2: woman went to Quest Diagnostics for a drug test and
- 54:34Speaker 2: gave herself an at-home test. Both results were negative.
- 54:40Speaker 1: They followed this all the way to the home part, huh?
- 54:42Speaker 2: Unbelievable, dude. The Grubhub donuts were sealed, but I'm convinced
- 54:49Speaker 2: that I've been drugged. Wow. I'm thinking this person maybe
- 54:52Speaker 2: doesn't have a ton of experience with drugs. I don't know.
- 54:56Speaker 2: It's pretty good. All right. I think we have, yeah,
- 55:02Speaker 2: we got two more here. A Willow Lane resident told
- 55:05Speaker 2: police her car was missing from her driveway, but later
- 55:08Speaker 2: remembered she left the car at the Fenway Golf Club
- 55:12Speaker 2: earlier that day and got a ride home. You have to,
- 55:20Speaker 2: I mean, you have to move. If you call the
- 55:25Speaker 2: cops because you got so hammered at the country club
- 55:28Speaker 2: that you got driven home that you then think your
- 55:31Speaker 2: car was stolen, I think you just have to move.
- 55:35Speaker 1: One would think.
- 55:37Speaker 2: Right, I mean, that's just like the level, again, shame
- 55:39Speaker 2: has left a bit. And by the way, Fenway Golf Club,
- 55:42Speaker 2: that's not an inexpensive place to join. So I'm sure
- 55:44Speaker 2: that was a very nice car.
- 55:46Speaker 1: And that's the part that makes me think this must
- 55:48Speaker 1: happen all the time.
- 55:51Speaker 2: All the time. And by the way, like, Shout out
- 55:53Speaker 2: to you. You got over-served at brunch and then you
- 55:56Speaker 2: didn't drive home. You were being responsible. Then you were
- 56:00Speaker 2: very irresponsible for calling the cops.
- 56:03Speaker 1: But you know what? Them cops are just sitting in
- 56:04Speaker 1: there playing paddle ball, you know, pop or whatever. They
- 56:07Speaker 1: ain't doing nothing. That's a Bayberry, Bayberry PD going on
- 56:11Speaker 1: over there.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Yep. And then, uh, here it seems like our monthly, uh,
- 56:16Speaker 2: version of calling the cops on kids being kids, uh,
- 56:21Speaker 2: A caller reported kids on electric bikes were riding on
- 56:25Speaker 2: Greendale Road. Police responded to the scene and found the
- 56:28Speaker 2: youths were not disturbing anyone or damaging anything. On bikes!
- 56:37Speaker 1: Look, man.
- 56:38Speaker 2: Kids on bikes, where do I live? What is happening?
- 56:41Speaker 1: These are my neighbors. I'm just going to say this
- 56:44Speaker 1: thing right here, man. And it's like, I don't want
- 56:49Speaker 1: people to think that I don't respect law enforcement and
- 56:53Speaker 1: what they have to do. And it's some cops out
- 56:56Speaker 1: there with real difficult jobs. And then it's cast like this.
- 57:01Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. You understand what I'm saying? I do.
- 57:07Speaker 1: Not everybody's out here toiling and legitimately fighting crime.
- 57:15Speaker 2: I would just be so embarrassed. And I will also
- 57:18Speaker 2: say Other than giving me great content in my group
- 57:22Speaker 2: chat with my boys from back home, great content when
- 57:25Speaker 2: I come on the right time with Bomani Jones, it
- 57:28Speaker 2: also has proven to be a pretty effective litmus test
- 57:31Speaker 2: when I am at school functions or youth sporting events.
- 57:35Speaker 2: If I bring it up to other dads along the
- 57:38Speaker 2: buffet line or the sidelines or whatever about an item here,
- 57:42Speaker 2: if they think that it was a worthwhile reason to
- 57:44Speaker 2: call the police... I know you're not going to be
- 57:47Speaker 2: a suburban friend of mine and we can keep it moving.
- 57:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 57:51Speaker 2: You also laugh at it. Then I'm willing to continue
- 57:54Speaker 2: the conversation. It's been a really nice entry point for me.
- 57:56Speaker 1: You know what? That's why we rock with you here.
- 57:59Speaker 1: That's these are the subtle ways that we figure out
- 58:01Speaker 1: who our people are.
- 58:02Speaker 2: That's right.
- 58:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:03Speaker 2: It's like little points of entry into conversation. Like, are
- 58:06Speaker 2: you going to be tolerable for the next 60 minutes
- 58:09Speaker 2: while these four year olds pretend to play t-ball?
- 58:12Speaker 1: Danny Park, check him out. First things first, 5 o'clock
- 58:16Speaker 1: Eastern on FS1, here to give us the police blotter
- 58:19Speaker 1: and his great takes. My brother, I appreciate you.
- 58:22Speaker 2: Anytime, Bo.
- 58:22Speaker 1: Thanks, buddy. No problem, man. And ladies and gentlemen, thanks
- 58:24Speaker 1: so much for joining us here on The Right Time.
- 58:26Speaker 1: We do this four days a week. Ryan Brumley handling
- 58:28Speaker 1: everything behind the scenes. Thank you, sir. Hit the voicemail line, 323-596-7767. Remember,
- 58:34Speaker 1: follow The Right Time. Subscribe, like, rate us, review us,
- 58:37Speaker 1: give us five stars. You only give us four stars.
- 58:40Speaker 1: I'm inclined to believe you are a hater. We'll talk
- 58:42Speaker 1: to you guys in a couple of days. Take it easy.
- 59:00Speaker 2: This has been a Playmaker Production.
