- 0:17Speaker 1: Saint Hawks. It's Michael Bumpas with a diving catching the
- 0:21Speaker 1: end zone our ten yard touchdown reception for Puppas and
- 0:25Speaker 1: the kid out of Washington State has found himself a
- 0:29Speaker 1: place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com. Bubble
- 0:34Speaker 1: to the Hawk Talk Preview edition, Week sixteen. The Hawks
- 0:36Speaker 1: are back home facing the Chicago Bears, trying to get
- 0:40Speaker 1: right and finished the season strong. Let's bring in Nasa Choby.
- 0:43Speaker 1: What's on tap? What's on tap? Those Chicago Bears are
- 0:51Speaker 1: on tap four in ten on the season, and they've
- 0:54Speaker 1: really struggled as of late. The Bears have lost eight
- 0:57Speaker 1: of their last nine games, losing to the Packers, Bucks,
- 1:01Speaker 1: forty nine, Ers, Steelers, Ravens, Cardinals, Packers, and Vikings. Their
- 1:06Speaker 1: only win in the last nine weeks was a sixteen
- 1:09Speaker 1: to fourteen victory over the Lions on Thanksgiving Day, and
- 1:13Speaker 1: the Bears have been dealing with uncertainty all season long,
- 1:16Speaker 1: whether it's their head coach or general manager, not to
- 1:19Speaker 1: mention their starting a rookie quarterback in Justin Fields and
- 1:22Speaker 1: so it's been a roller coaster for them all year long.
- 1:25Speaker 1: They had a higher expectations and they're living up too.
- 1:28Speaker 1: But let's go back to Monday night. They played the Vikings,
- 1:31Speaker 1: and honestly, it was pretty much a microcosm of their season.
- 1:35Speaker 1: They lose to the Vikings and it was brutal to start.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Similar to the Seahawks. They went to the game down
- 1:40Speaker 1: fourteen players who were placed on the reserve COVID lists
- 1:43Speaker 1: among those not playing with star receiver Allen Robinson and
- 1:46Speaker 1: most of their starting secondary. Not to mention, they're also
- 1:49Speaker 1: missing their offensive coordinator and their special teams coordinator. The
- 1:52Speaker 1: defensive coordinator was cleared just before kickoff. But despite all that,
- 1:57Speaker 1: somehow the Bears still dominated in most of the offensive categories.
- 2:01Speaker 1: They outgained the Vikings three hundred and seventy to one
- 2:03Speaker 1: ninety three. They had two hundred and fifty five passing
- 2:06Speaker 1: yards of Vikings had sixty one. They had thirteen first
- 2:09Speaker 1: downs of Vikings only had five. They ran seventy plays
- 2:12Speaker 1: of Vikings ran sixty one. Key difference, though, it was
- 2:15Speaker 1: turnovers in fourth downs. The Bears turn the ball over
- 2:17Speaker 1: three times and then we're two of five on fourth down,
- 2:20Speaker 1: which might as well be three more turnovers, might as
- 2:23Speaker 1: well call it six. They had nine penalties for ninety
- 2:26Speaker 1: one yards on the day, and rookie Justin fields he
- 2:29Speaker 1: was Okay, had a decent day statistically, going twenty six
- 2:31Speaker 1: for thirty nine for two hundred and eighty five yards
- 2:34Speaker 1: in one Teddy David Montgomery led all running backs eighteen
- 2:37Speaker 1: carries sixty yards, and Cole Commet at the tight end
- 2:41Speaker 1: had six catches for sixty one yards. On defense, the
- 2:43Speaker 1: Bears Helkirk Cousins to a horrible day twelve to twenty
- 2:46Speaker 1: four eighty seven yards, two touchdowns, one interception, but they
- 2:50Speaker 1: ended up losing seventeen to nine. So they're not a
- 2:53Speaker 1: great football team. Let's not pretend like they are. But
- 2:57Speaker 1: they do some things well bump what you see from
- 2:59Speaker 1: the head to head comparison. Not a great football team,
- 3:02Speaker 1: but we're in no position to judge right now. We
- 3:04Speaker 1: just gotta get wins at this point. The Hawks are
- 3:07Speaker 1: five and nineties. Guys are four and ten. When you
- 3:09Speaker 1: talk about the offense, the Hawks are the thirtieth ranked offense.
- 3:12Speaker 1: The Bears are twenty ninth, averaging three more yards than
- 3:15Speaker 1: the Seattle Seahawks. Rush offensive Hawks ring twenty third. They
- 3:18Speaker 1: are ranked eighth averaging one hundred and twenty five yards.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Montgomery is a big reason for that pass offense. Hawks
- 3:25Speaker 1: ring twenty seventh average and twenty yards a game. They
- 3:27Speaker 1: are thirty second last in league one hundred and eighty
- 3:29Speaker 1: two yards. They got a rookie quarterback that contributes to that.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Points per game the Hawks are twenty fourth. They are
- 3:34Speaker 1: twenty ninth with seventeen points per game. You go to
- 3:36Speaker 1: the defensive side. This is the strength of the team.
- 3:39Speaker 1: The Hawks are thirty first. They are ninth only allowing
- 3:41Speaker 1: three hundred and twenty six yards per game. Against the run,
- 3:45Speaker 1: they are ranked twenty third one hundred and twenty Against
- 3:47Speaker 1: the past, they are ranked fourth, allowing two hundred and
- 3:50Speaker 1: five yards per game. And then points allowed, they are
- 3:52Speaker 1: twenty fourth averaging are allowing twenty four points per game.
- 3:56Speaker 1: The Hawks are ring fourth, averaging twenty points per game.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Look at the interception category. This is where we got him.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Quandre Diggs has five interceptions, Bobby has one, Jamal Adams
- 4:05Speaker 1: has two. That equals eight. The Bears have six interceptions.
- 4:10Speaker 1: On paper, this should be a tight game, but you
- 4:12Speaker 1: look at personnel and what they do. We feel confident
- 4:15Speaker 1: going into this game. But this is the NFL and
- 4:18Speaker 1: there is a history. Let's get to know it. No
- 4:21Speaker 1: your history. The Seahawks lead the all time series eleven
- 4:26Speaker 1: to seven. They're eleven and five in the regular season,
- 4:28Speaker 1: but oh and two record in the postseason. Last time
- 4:31Speaker 1: these two teams linked up, the Seahawks lost twenty four
- 4:33Speaker 1: to seventeen to the Bears on Monday Night Football back
- 4:36Speaker 1: in September of twenty eighteen, and if you guys remember,
- 4:39Speaker 1: it was a tough day for the Seahawks on offense.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Russell Wilson went twenty two of thirty six for two
- 4:44Speaker 1: hundred and twenty six yards, two touchdowns, one interception, but
- 4:47Speaker 1: he was sacked six different times. A rookie back then,
- 4:51Speaker 1: Rashad Penny led all rushers for the Seahawks. Not a
- 4:54Speaker 1: great day. Ten carries for thirty yards. Tyler Lockett was
- 4:57Speaker 1: the only one who had anything really going in the
- 4:59Speaker 1: stat sheet, he had five receptions for sixty yards and
- 5:01Speaker 1: a touchdown. Defensively, sha Killed Griffin probably turned in his
- 5:04Speaker 1: best game as a Seahawk, four tackles, three passes defended,
- 5:08Speaker 1: two interceptions. Ultimately, the Seahawks could not overcome the pressure
- 5:12Speaker 1: from the Bears defense. That was the first home game
- 5:15Speaker 1: for cleil Mac after the trade and then turnovers. Trailing
- 5:19Speaker 1: seventeen to ten, with six thirty seven left in the
- 5:22Speaker 1: fourth quarter, Russell Wilson was intercepted by Prince of Mukamara
- 5:26Speaker 1: and he returned that by for a touchdown, pretty much
- 5:29Speaker 1: stealing in the game. Will distantly caught a two yard
- 5:31Speaker 1: touchdown in garbage time to make the score twenty four
- 5:34Speaker 1: seventeen much different time because in twenty eighteen, things were
- 5:37Speaker 1: looking good for the Bears, things were looking good for
- 5:39Speaker 1: coach Matt Naggie. They took them to the playoffs in
- 5:41Speaker 1: that first year, as I think Clayton Noy says, the
- 5:45Speaker 1: double doink when they missed the field goal and a
- 5:47Speaker 1: bounce off the upright and bounce back they lose to
- 5:49Speaker 1: the Eagles. So a lot of a lot has changed
- 5:52Speaker 1: for both teams since twenty eighteen. But let's get back
- 5:55Speaker 1: into the NFC West. What's the word? And the Seahawks
- 6:03Speaker 1: were the NFC West champs again, what's the word in
- 6:07Speaker 1: the West? On Hot Talk? What is the word in
- 6:12Speaker 1: the West? Bears on the Cardinals are tending for? The
- 6:14Speaker 1: Rams are tending for the forty nineties? Or eight and
- 6:17Speaker 1: six in the Seattle Seahawks are five in nine. Cardinals
- 6:21Speaker 1: played the Lions last week and the Cardinals have been
- 6:23Speaker 1: one of the best teams in the NFL this season,
- 6:25Speaker 1: and we've been believers all season long, but as of late,
- 6:29Speaker 1: there's been some concern. The Cardinals have lost two consectual
- 6:31Speaker 1: games for the first time this season. They lost to
- 6:33Speaker 1: the Ramps and then got whooped by the Detroit Lions
- 6:36Speaker 1: on Sunday, Yes, the Detroit Lions. The Lions won by
- 6:40Speaker 1: the final score of thirty to twelve, and the game
- 6:43Speaker 1: wasn't really that close. The Lions controlled from the start,
- 6:45Speaker 1: taking a seventeen old lead into halftime, and then at
- 6:48Speaker 1: one point in the third quarter, the Lions were out
- 6:50Speaker 1: twenty four to three. The Cardinals were able to close
- 6:53Speaker 1: the gap a little bit with twelve seconds excuse me
- 6:55Speaker 1: twelve with twelve second half points, but the game was
- 6:58Speaker 1: well out of hand. Colin Murray, who was an MVP
- 7:00Speaker 1: Guy canadidate to start the season, had an alright day
- 7:04Speaker 1: struggle a little bit twenty three or forty one, two
- 7:06Speaker 1: fifty seven and one touchdown, one interception, and he had
- 7:09Speaker 1: three yards on four carries, which is crazy. Christian Kirk
- 7:13Speaker 1: was the only want to really do anything in the
- 7:15Speaker 1: box score with nine receptions for ninety four yards and
- 7:17Speaker 1: one touchdown. Zach Ertz has six receptions for seventy four.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Jared Goff put together a game twenty one to twenty
- 7:24Speaker 1: six two sixteen in three touchdown. Craig Reynolds led all
- 7:27Speaker 1: running backs with one hundred and twelve yards on twenty
- 7:29Speaker 1: six cars for Detroit, and we heard some troubling comments
- 7:33Speaker 1: post game from the Cardinals. Colin Murray said, look, they
- 7:36Speaker 1: were hungrier than us, they played harder than us. We
- 7:39Speaker 1: didn't come prepare in all of that showed. I kind
- 7:42Speaker 1: of liked that. I like them call his teammates out
- 7:43Speaker 1: right before the playoffs. Hey, let's get right, let's fix
- 7:46Speaker 1: this thing now. That's not what you want to hear,
- 7:49Speaker 1: but you will take that now. They also finished the
- 7:51Speaker 1: season with the Colts Cowboys and the Seahawks. So they
- 7:54Speaker 1: got some tough games coming up. It's not going to
- 7:55Speaker 1: be easy going forward. But they're still ten and four.
- 7:58Speaker 1: They can still win the division and still get a
- 8:00Speaker 1: high seed into the playoffs. You know, I would kill
- 8:03Speaker 1: to be in their position right now. Obviously ten and
- 8:05Speaker 1: four still having a playoff, destiny dreams, whatever you want
- 8:10Speaker 1: to call it. But man, it's a little late in
- 8:13Speaker 1: the season to not be shown up effort wise. They're
- 8:16Speaker 1: hungry in than us. They've played harder than us. We
- 8:18Speaker 1: didn't come prepared at all, and it showed. It's the NFL. Man,
- 8:23Speaker 1: you can't just show up on Sunday and get it. Dub.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I know that are the Detroit Lions, but you don't
- 8:26Speaker 1: want to see that if you're a Cardinals fan. That'd
- 8:28Speaker 1: also be interesting to see how they finish out the season. Otherwise,
- 8:32Speaker 1: in the NFC West, the forty nine Ers took on
- 8:34Speaker 1: the Falcons, and these forty nine Ers, man, they are
- 8:37Speaker 1: a completely different team as of late, with the exception
- 8:39Speaker 1: of when they play the Seahawks. They've won five of
- 8:42Speaker 1: their last six and are in great shape in terms
- 8:44Speaker 1: of the playoffs and the wildcard, currently holding down the
- 8:47Speaker 1: sixth seed and have a one game lead over the Vikings.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Against the Falcons last Sunday, the forty nine ers, it
- 8:52Speaker 1: was pretty much all forty nine ers all day. They
- 8:54Speaker 1: had four touchdowns on four consecutive drives at one point
- 8:57Speaker 1: control from start to finish. Me gee, he just continues
- 9:01Speaker 1: to play under the radar. Consistent football. Eighteen of twenty three,
- 9:05Speaker 1: two thirty five, one touchdown, no interceptions. Jeff Wilson had
- 9:09Speaker 1: things going on the ground one hundred ten yards on
- 9:11Speaker 1: twenty one carries in a touchdown. George Kittle he led
- 9:14Speaker 1: all receivers six receptions ninety three yards on six targets
- 9:18Speaker 1: for nine ers grade on third downs going six of eleven,
- 9:20Speaker 1: also had twenty three first downs compared to the Falcon's thirteen.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And all the talk about we on this podcast even
- 9:27Speaker 1: everything was, hey, where's Tray Lance? Get Trey Lance in there, man,
- 9:30Speaker 1: he's the future. Jimmy G's wash blah blah blah. Yo's
- 9:34Speaker 1: that's stopped. Ain't nobody's saying that now because Jimmy G's
- 9:37Speaker 1: actually lead them to the playoffs. He's not gonna overwhelm me,
- 9:40Speaker 1: and we know that. But he's efficient. Man, every week
- 9:42Speaker 1: I'm looking at his numbers. He's always like, you know,
- 9:44Speaker 1: seventy five plus in terms of completing percentage. He's doing
- 9:47Speaker 1: just enough to keep them alive. The forty nine Ers
- 9:50Speaker 1: are going to be a dangerous team down the stretch.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Lucky for them, they do not have to play the
- 9:54Speaker 1: Seattle Seahawks quickly. I look at the playoffs standings now,
- 10:00Speaker 1: the Seahawks are not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. So
- 10:04Speaker 1: I just want to say that. I just want to
- 10:06Speaker 1: put that in the atmosphere. However, boy, it's gonna take
- 10:10Speaker 1: I don't know who you pray too, but you need
- 10:11Speaker 1: to start praying to them today, tomorrow, and the next
- 10:14Speaker 1: day because the Seahawks are going to need it. Vikings
- 10:17Speaker 1: are seven and seven in the last playoff spot, Eagles
- 10:20Speaker 1: seven and seven, Saint seven and seven, Watching Football Team
- 10:23Speaker 1: six and eight, Falcon six and eight, Panthers five and nine,
- 10:26Speaker 1: the Seahawks for five and nine. I'm not gonna waste
- 10:29Speaker 1: everybody's time and go through all the crazy scenarios because
- 10:32Speaker 1: I'll be here for an hour, but they're not. They're
- 10:35Speaker 1: not out of it. See, I need to win out.
- 10:37Speaker 1: There'll be eight to nine and it'll be incredibly hard.
- 10:39Speaker 1: It might even involve some ties. I don't know, but nonetheless,
- 10:43Speaker 1: the Seahawks are still in it. I'm saying there's a chance.
- 10:45Speaker 1: It's probably less than one percent, but there is a chance. Anyway.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Let's get back into these Chicago Bears. Man is this
- 11:00Speaker 1: man up on Hawk Talk. Let's look at some of
- 11:04Speaker 1: these matchups. Justin Fields is going against the Seahawks defense.
- 11:07Speaker 1: On the year, Justin Fields as eighteen hundred yards, seven touchdowns,
- 11:11Speaker 1: and ten interceptions. He's only completing fifty eight percent of
- 11:14Speaker 1: his passes and he's been sacked thirty six times in
- 11:17Speaker 1: twelve games. A Hawks should be able to get after
- 11:18Speaker 1: this guy. He does that seventy two carries fro four
- 11:21Speaker 1: into the twenty yards and two touchdowns. He has definitely
- 11:23Speaker 1: shown moments of brilliance. He looks good at times, but
- 11:25Speaker 1: then he also looks like a rookie. That's what we
- 11:28Speaker 1: expect how a rookie quarterbacks. A lot of struggles feels
- 11:31Speaker 1: his face this year can be attributed to the Bears
- 11:33Speaker 1: offensive line and constant questions about who will be coaching
- 11:36Speaker 1: this team in the future. Lots of stuff going on there,
- 11:39Speaker 1: But on the positive side, you hear good things about
- 11:41Speaker 1: his leadership from his teammates. Guys are saying, look, but
- 11:44Speaker 1: he's super calm. He gets in the huddle when things
- 11:46Speaker 1: are good, things are bad, he's even killed. He doesn't
- 11:49Speaker 1: really get rattled. That's a good start, important for a
- 11:52Speaker 1: rookie quarterback. The Seahawks defense is playing with a lot
- 11:54Speaker 1: of confidence and should have a great day going to
- 11:56Speaker 1: get up against the Bears. There we're in twenty ninth.
- 11:59Speaker 1: When it comes to offense, the Bears also have the
- 12:01Speaker 1: league's worth passing off his averaging one hundred and eighty
- 12:04Speaker 1: two yards passing per game. I'm going to say Diggs
- 12:09Speaker 1: gets a pick number six career high against Justin Fields
- 12:12Speaker 1: and the Bears. Yeah, no question about it. I agree
- 12:15Speaker 1: with you on that. Bum Quandre Diggs has definitely been
- 12:17Speaker 1: confusing quarterbacks all season long, and if he can intercept
- 12:20Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford, I think he can intercept Justin Field too.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Is shown brilliant at times, like we said, but definitely
- 12:27Speaker 1: shown he is a rookie quarterback. On the flip side,
- 12:30Speaker 1: the Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson number three, going against his
- 12:33Speaker 1: Bears front seven. Russell Wilson on the year two O
- 12:37Speaker 1: eight for three eighteen twenty four hundred yards, sixteen touchdowns,
- 12:40Speaker 1: five picks, thirty one carries one hundred forty one yards
- 12:43Speaker 1: in one touchdown, and after putting together his best two
- 12:47Speaker 1: games stretch of the season, russ really struggled last week
- 12:50Speaker 1: against the Rams defense, going seventeen to thirty one one
- 12:53Speaker 1: hundred and fifty six yards, zero touchdowns, one interception. Was
- 12:57Speaker 1: also sacked three times, and he was doing stuff that
- 13:00Speaker 1: we're not normally seeing. I thought we kind of got
- 13:02Speaker 1: past some of the overthrows into some of the lack
- 13:06Speaker 1: of accuracy from Russell. Fortunately, that kind of came back
- 13:08Speaker 1: and he's just not making some of the throws that
- 13:10Speaker 1: he's consistently made throughout his career. We obviously know he's
- 13:13Speaker 1: come back from a finger injury. There's just a lot
- 13:15Speaker 1: going on, a lot of different guys going in and
- 13:18Speaker 1: out on the offensive line, and the bad news for Russell.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Despite the Bears record, they got a good defense man
- 13:24Speaker 1: ninth overall in total defense, allowing three hundred and twenty
- 13:26Speaker 1: six yards per game. They also are very good against
- 13:29Speaker 1: the pass, but he mentioned it their fourth in the NFL,
- 13:31Speaker 1: allowing just two hundred and five yards. And boy, Robert Quinn, man,
- 13:36Speaker 1: holy my goodness, he's having a monster season. Forty five tackles,
- 13:41Speaker 1: sixteen sacks, and three force fumbles. Bump. I don't have
- 13:45Speaker 1: the sack numbers in front of me for the Seahawks
- 13:47Speaker 1: and me look back, but he almost has more sacks
- 13:50Speaker 1: by himself than the entire Seahawks team. Seahawks have only
- 13:53Speaker 1: sack quarterbacks twenty five times. This man has sixteen alone,
- 13:56Speaker 1: So Russell Wilson, I'm hoping he gets back to form
- 13:59Speaker 1: this weekend, but it's not gonna be easy, gonna be tough. Man,
- 14:03Speaker 1: Robert Quinn is a beast. I did a film session
- 14:05Speaker 1: on this guy. Got two sacks against Aaron Rodgers. Dude
- 14:08Speaker 1: can get it done, all right. Let's go over to
- 14:09Speaker 1: the receivers man Darnielle Mooney and Alan Robinson versus Seahawks
- 14:13Speaker 1: secondary The Bears that are nothing like these Hawks have
- 14:15Speaker 1: seen as of late when it comes to the receiving corps.
- 14:18Speaker 1: But you got two guys who can get it done
- 14:20Speaker 1: and who are just fast when they're on the football field.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Mooney has fifty seven receptions for eight hundred and three
- 14:25Speaker 1: yards and three touchdowns. Alan Robinson fifty six receptions for
- 14:28Speaker 1: three fifty three and one touchdown. Godwinn, excuse me, Goodwin.
- 14:33Speaker 1: It's the next best receiver. He just has sixteen receptions
- 14:35Speaker 1: for two seventy seven and one touchdown. You played with
- 14:38Speaker 1: a rookie quarterback. It's gonna be tough, right. You gotta
- 14:41Speaker 1: rely on this guy to get you the football. So
- 14:43Speaker 1: that's what I attribute to Allan Robinson stats being down
- 14:45Speaker 1: a bit and him being hurt. He's missed a few games.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Alan had back to back a thousand yards seasons in
- 14:51Speaker 1: twenty nineteen and twenty twenty, but like I mentioned, he's
- 14:53Speaker 1: been hurt any tests of positive for COVID. This is
- 14:56Speaker 1: a game where I want to see these corners really
- 14:58Speaker 1: step up. Even though you know you're playing with some backups.
- 15:01Speaker 1: You gotta bless Austin out there. You still got Digs
- 15:04Speaker 1: in the secondary holding down. But if there's a game
- 15:07Speaker 1: for these guys to be dominant when it comes to
- 15:08Speaker 1: the past game, this is it. But these you gotta
- 15:10Speaker 1: respect Mooney and Robinson. They have enough to make big plays. Yeah,
- 15:15Speaker 1: no question. Robinson is a savvy that, like you mentioned,
- 15:18Speaker 1: back to back one thousand yards seasons in nineteen and twenty.
- 15:20Speaker 1: He can get it done. I heard the thing. I
- 15:22Speaker 1: watched him on one of the Monday Night countdowns earlier
- 15:25Speaker 1: in the year when you're that segment with Randy Moss
- 15:27Speaker 1: and you talked about it being a learning curve man,
- 15:29Speaker 1: you know, justin fields and just trying to figure stuff out.
- 15:31Speaker 1: But dude as a ball or he can still play. Now.
- 15:34Speaker 1: The Bears don't do a lot of great things offensively,
- 15:37Speaker 1: but one thing they do do well is run the football.
- 15:39Speaker 1: David Montgomery is the reason why. He's got one hundred
- 15:43Speaker 1: and sixty two carries, six hundred and sixty eight yards
- 15:46Speaker 1: in four touchdowns. The Bears are the eighth ranked rushing
- 15:50Speaker 1: attack in the NFL, averaging one hundred and twenty five
- 15:52Speaker 1: yards game. Khalil Herbert has also been effective on the ground,
- 15:55Speaker 1: with three hundred and nine and two yards on ninety
- 15:57Speaker 1: five carries and one touchdown. Once you row in justin fields,
- 16:01Speaker 1: they got three players that have around four hundred yards rushing,
- 16:04Speaker 1: so they can clearly are successful in that part of
- 16:07Speaker 1: the game. Now here's something that I dug up bump
- 16:09Speaker 1: that's interesting. So the Seahawks are twenty first in the
- 16:11Speaker 1: league when it comes to stopping the run in one
- 16:13Speaker 1: hundred and sixteen yards per game. However, that's actually kind
- 16:17Speaker 1: of misleading because the defense has been on the field
- 16:20Speaker 1: way longer than most teams. When you break it down
- 16:23Speaker 1: two yards per carry an attempt, the Seahawks are only
- 16:26Speaker 1: allowing three point eight yards per attempt. That's high for
- 16:29Speaker 1: the best of the National Football League. So that shows
- 16:33Speaker 1: you that when teams actually do you decide to run
- 16:35Speaker 1: the ball, the Seahawks are actually do a decent job.
- 16:37Speaker 1: They're just on the field for so much longer. Devil's
- 16:40Speaker 1: advocate would say, well, they shoun get off the field,
- 16:42Speaker 1: but obviously it's more about, you know, volume and quantity.
- 16:46Speaker 1: A lot of that has to do with the offense.
- 16:47Speaker 1: So they're actually they're actually pretty damn good at stopping
- 16:50Speaker 1: the run. But bumble us into this man. The Seahawks
- 16:53Speaker 1: defense has been on the field for one thousand and
- 16:55Speaker 1: one plays this year, number one in the NFL by
- 16:59Speaker 1: a wide margin. The Giants are the next closest team,
- 17:02Speaker 1: have been on the field for nine hundred and fifty
- 17:04Speaker 1: four plays, essentially meaning the Seahawks have played an additional
- 17:08Speaker 1: game on defense than the next closest team. The Broncos
- 17:11Speaker 1: on the other side of that, have the least Ember
- 17:13Speaker 1: plays at eight thirty two, So real talk. The Seahawks
- 17:17Speaker 1: have played like three extra games and the Broncos defense
- 17:20Speaker 1: has this here, so that's context to show you how
- 17:23Speaker 1: long they've been on the field and that they're actually
- 17:25Speaker 1: pretty good stopping run. But that's just wild to me.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Bump That is crazy. Defense, Get off the fields, save
- 17:31Speaker 1: some miles, especially on guys like Bobby Wagner. All right,
- 17:34Speaker 1: another matchup. Let's look at DK, Tyler Lockett and d
- 17:37Speaker 1: Escars versus the Bear Secondary. Seahawks are hoping to get
- 17:40Speaker 1: Tyler Lockett back on the field. We missed him last
- 17:42Speaker 1: week against the Rams. DK struggleman again. Of all the
- 17:45Speaker 1: last six games, he hadn't scored a touchdowns to this
- 17:47Speaker 1: Halloween against the Jaguars. My family was at that game.
- 17:50Speaker 1: So that's what we gotta do. We gotta get the
- 17:52Speaker 1: bumpuses back in the building so DK can score a touchdown.
- 17:56Speaker 1: All right, he has more. He has not more than
- 17:58Speaker 1: sixty yards since weeks which is crazy. After setting the
- 18:01Speaker 1: franchise record for receiving last season, DK is not having
- 18:04Speaker 1: the season we all expected. This year, he has sixty
- 18:06Speaker 1: two receptions, eight hundred and five yards and eight touchdowns.
- 18:10Speaker 1: That's wild to say that this is kind of a disappointment, right,
- 18:14Speaker 1: sixty two yards, eight hundred, sixty two receptions, eight hundred
- 18:17Speaker 1: yards and eight receptions, and we're disappointed. That's just how
- 18:19Speaker 1: good Dk metcalf is. The Scrig, on the other hand,
- 18:22Speaker 1: was targeted four times and had zero receptions against the Rams.
- 18:25Speaker 1: The Seahawks really need these three to get going against
- 18:28Speaker 1: the Bears. I mean, this is the future right here, right.
- 18:31Speaker 1: You can get a few more years out of lock it.
- 18:32Speaker 1: We know DK's contract years coming up. You drafted ds
- 18:36Speaker 1: Skridge early. Let's get it done. The Bears have the
- 18:39Speaker 1: fourth best passing defense but only have six interceptions, which
- 18:43Speaker 1: is twenty nine in the league. Opportunity out there, Let's
- 18:46Speaker 1: get it all right, Let's figure out how the Seahawks
- 18:49Speaker 1: can get this done. Path to victory. After forty five
- 18:54Speaker 1: waits for the staff, Michael Vickson puts it down. That
- 18:57Speaker 1: kick is away. If that kick is god, it's gone.
- 19:02Speaker 1: It's a path to victory. On Hawk Talk. You would
- 19:05Speaker 1: not have thought it when the season started, but right now,
- 19:08Speaker 1: the Seahawks defense is carrying this ball club. They're definitely
- 19:11Speaker 1: the MVP's keeping this team afloat. They're playing with confidence
- 19:15Speaker 1: right now. They haven't allowed more than twenty three points
- 19:17Speaker 1: since Week five, their fourth in the NFL and points
- 19:20Speaker 1: allowed per game. We've talked about this a lot on
- 19:22Speaker 1: the prem post game show, how much do yards really matter? Well,
- 19:25Speaker 1: at the end of the day, the Seahawks are keeping
- 19:27Speaker 1: guys out of the end zone, which really is what
- 19:29Speaker 1: matters is on the scoreboard. So they need to continue
- 19:32Speaker 1: to play at the level that they're at. And they're
- 19:34Speaker 1: playing a rookie quarterback. Man, it's Justin Fields to a
- 19:37Speaker 1: great career Ohio State. I think he's gonna be a
- 19:39Speaker 1: good quarterback in the NFL, but he's a rookie and
- 19:42Speaker 1: the Seahawks need to make him look like it, create turnovers,
- 19:44Speaker 1: get after him because you know, he's got seven touchdowns,
- 19:47Speaker 1: ten interceptions prowning turn football over. They've struggled in the
- 19:51Speaker 1: offensive line, so the Seahawks have a really golden opportunity
- 19:54Speaker 1: to get after Justin Fields and make him look bad.
- 19:56Speaker 1: On Sunday. They him look like a rookie. And because
- 19:59Speaker 1: he's a rookie quarterback, they're gonna run the football, and
- 20:01Speaker 1: they're good at running the football. So let's stop the run.
- 20:04Speaker 1: You mentioned the Hawks have been on them field for
- 20:06Speaker 1: a thousand and one snaps only averaging three point eight
- 20:09Speaker 1: yards per carry. Let's keep the good times rolling, but
- 20:13Speaker 1: get the snaps out the way. Let's shorten the snaps,
- 20:15Speaker 1: keep the run. Defense nights and proper will be good
- 20:18Speaker 1: to go, and let's get a rhythm on offense. Russell
- 20:21Speaker 1: Wilson was off last week. This offense didn't really make
- 20:23Speaker 1: any big plays. I think now it's the time to
- 20:25Speaker 1: do it. Finish the season strong and take care of
- 20:28Speaker 1: it against the team that I feel like they should
- 20:30Speaker 1: be able to move the ball against, no question about it.
- 20:33Speaker 1: I think that it's hard to throw shade. What it
- 20:37Speaker 1: was just saying, don't throw stones if you live in
- 20:39Speaker 1: a glass house, right, Yeah, that the Bears are four
- 20:42Speaker 1: in the four and ten sea Xtra five and nine.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I just the Seahawks are just such a better football team.
- 20:46Speaker 1: It paints me to say that. Call me a homer
- 20:48Speaker 1: and call me if you want. The Seahawks are so
- 20:50Speaker 1: much better than a five and nine record, and it
- 20:52Speaker 1: just paints me to talk about it. But as a
- 20:56Speaker 1: wise Man told me, man, you are what your record is.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Nothing you can do about that. That's real. That's life,
- 21:03Speaker 1: doesn't matter. Dominic glenis carriage for techt home Field. Find
- 21:06Speaker 1: a way to go one and out, guys. That's gonna
- 21:08Speaker 1: wrap it up for Hawk Talk. Just sort remind you

- 21:31Speaker 1: Seahawks slightly still have a chance in the playoffs. I
- 21:34Speaker 1: won't roll it out. It's it's gonna take an act
- 21:36Speaker 1: of God. But that being said, they're playing the Bears
- 21:39Speaker 1: at home and they got a shot. So hopefully the
- 21:41Speaker 1: twelves come out there on Christmas Day after Christmas and
- 21:44Speaker 1: Sehaws and get a victory. All right there, It is
- 21:48Speaker 1: Hawk Talk Preview edition Weeks six, seeing the Hawks are
- 21:51Speaker 1: home taking on the Bears, trying to finish strong. The
- 21:53Speaker 1: Bears are four and ten, the Hawks in five or nine.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Let's get after it has been real. Thanks for hanging out.
