- 0:03Speaker 2: Okay, here we go.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Where the plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Dude, they said I gotta come off the bench.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hour two of Off the Bench, live from the Raising
- 0:12Speaker 1: Cane Studio.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Bye.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Bye.
- 0:53Speaker 4: All right welcome back in otb here live from the
- 0:56Speaker 4: raisin canes studio gonna have our guy ross dellinger join
- 1:00Speaker 4: the show now you know i'm college football writer for
- 1:03Speaker 4: yahoo sports deli what's going on brother.
- 1:06Speaker 3: How we doing good good jacob how are you.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Doing fantastic and uh you know we're ready for boot
- 1:12Speaker 4: to meet ball obviously to actually get some actual football
- 1:16Speaker 4: we got a little taste of it last night but
- 1:18Speaker 4: The wild thing, as you know, because college football kicks
- 1:21Speaker 4: off here coming up this weekend. As I mentioned, we
- 1:24Speaker 4: already had some games in the FCS last night, and
- 1:27Speaker 4: somehow the biggest story might be guys potentially going from
- 1:30Speaker 4: the NFL.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Back to college.
- 1:32Speaker 4: How do we get to this point, and where does
- 1:35Speaker 4: this thing, if it does, get to an end, and
- 1:39Speaker 4: is there a finish line in sight?
- 1:42Speaker 3: Well, we got to this point because the NCAA, you know,
- 1:46Speaker 3: in the spring– developed a change to their eligibility rule.
- 1:54Speaker 5: Ironically, the change to the rule was supposed to be
- 1:59Speaker 5: to prevent lawsuits, and basically they went from giving four
- 2:05Speaker 5: years of eligibility to giving five.
- 2:07Speaker 3: The problem is they didn't grant an exception to those
- 2:11Speaker 3: players who had just completed their eligibility in their fourth year,
- 2:15Speaker 3: and those players wanted a fifth season.
- 2:18Speaker 5: And they didn't.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Grandfather them in. And they knew that it would come
- 2:22Speaker 3: with lawsuits and they would just deal with them. And,
- 2:26Speaker 3: you know, now we're seeing that the law is probably
- 2:31Speaker 3: more of a problem than they ever thought. And so
- 2:35Speaker 3: I don't know if they regret the decision, if they
- 2:37Speaker 3: would go back and make an exception. But that's kind
- 2:42Speaker 3: of where we are. And, you know, so you've got
- 2:46Speaker 3: probably about, three to 400 athletes somewhere around there, I
- 2:51Speaker 3: believe that have filed some kind of lawsuit, whether federal
- 2:55Speaker 3: or state court, most of them have won. Um, there's
- 2:58Speaker 3: about 20 cases in all, um, involving those players and
- 3:03Speaker 3: the NCAA has won two or three probably. So, um,
- 3:07Speaker 3: and obviously the one in the one in Louisiana, you know,
- 3:11Speaker 3: is a little different from the others because, um, it
- 3:16Speaker 3: includes so many players that are in the professional leagues.
- 3:20Speaker 5: And the one in Dallas filed yesterday includes that as well.
- 3:25Speaker 3: And that's what obviously got everybody.
- 3:29Speaker 5: Pretty angry, you might say, in creating these conference policies
- 3:34Speaker 5: to prevent this from happening.
- 3:39Speaker 6: Ross, I was wondering, like, I'm trying to follow all this,
- 3:43Speaker 6: and I know you've done such a great job of posting, like,
- 3:46Speaker 6: all the legal documents and the contracts and following. But
- 3:50Speaker 6: for someone like me, it's kind of hard to exactly
- 3:52Speaker 6: follow everything. So, you know, you have the NCAA that
- 3:56Speaker 6: sets these rules. They've had these longstanding rules on just
- 3:59Speaker 6: how people follow the game.
- 4:01Speaker 2: But, of course, there are lawsuits.
- 4:03Speaker 6: You can supersede those rules with these different injunctions that
- 4:07Speaker 6: TROs place. But how does, like, why is it different
- 4:10Speaker 6: when the conferences start getting involved? Because I know a
- 4:13Speaker 6: lot of these new cases are starting to name the
- 4:17Speaker 6: Southeastern Conference and Greg Sankey and things like that. How
- 4:19Speaker 6: is it different when it comes from the conference rather
- 4:21Speaker 6: than the NCAA?
- 4:24Speaker 3: Yeah, well, the thought is that the NCAA for years
- 4:31Speaker 3: now has been subject to antitrust violations because The courts
- 4:39Speaker 3: have said that its rules were illegal because they restrained athletes,
- 4:48Speaker 3: and athletes had nowhere else to play college sports because
- 4:54Speaker 3: there's 350 Division I NCAA schools, over 1,000 overall NCAA schools.
- 5:01Speaker 3: So they have the market, basically. And judges have said,
- 5:06Speaker 3: you have the market and you're restraining trade. basically is
- 5:09Speaker 3: what they've said. So the idea is that if conferences
- 5:15Speaker 3: create their own rules, they won't have the market because
- 5:18Speaker 3: they only have the SEC only has 16 schools and
- 5:21Speaker 3: Big Ten only has 18 compared to 350 Division I schools.
- 5:25Speaker 3: So then theory, you could create your rules and wouldn't
- 5:30Speaker 3: be a violation of antitrust. That is the theory. And
- 5:35Speaker 3: that's the theory for creating a probably heard it or
- 5:40Speaker 3: read it, me writing a self-governance model where conferences would
- 5:44Speaker 3: not just create their own eligibility rule like this, but
- 5:48Speaker 3: would create all of their own rules and enforce them
- 5:51Speaker 3: and be able to kind of limit the amount of
- 5:54Speaker 3: legal challenges. That's the theory. We're seeing that theory sort
- 5:59Speaker 3: of being, going to see that theory being put to test,
- 6:03Speaker 3: I guess, right now. because there's many lawyers that believe
- 6:08Speaker 3: that the SEC and the Big Ten and other leagues
- 6:11Speaker 3: still have a market because they have in their conference
- 6:17Speaker 3: such bigger programs. And so we'll see. Like you mentioned,
- 6:23Speaker 3: the SEC is now being added to some of these
- 6:25Speaker 3: lawsuits because of its own conference policy. And at least
- 6:30Speaker 3: one case in Dallas and probably there in Louisiana today,
- 6:34Speaker 3: they're going to end up having those rules enjoined where
- 6:37Speaker 3: they can't enforce them.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Catching up with our guy Ross Dellinger here on OTB.
- 6:44Speaker 4: So many different layers, obviously, to this one. One of
- 6:46Speaker 4: the ones that we were talking about the other day,
- 6:48Speaker 4: LSU abstained from the vote on the penalties. So I
- 6:51Speaker 4: want to ask you, how much tension is there right
- 6:54Speaker 4: now between LSU and the SEC office behind the scenes?
- 6:58Speaker 4: And what are you kind of hearing from people that
- 7:01Speaker 4: are in those positions meetings in those rooms and kind
- 7:04Speaker 4: of maybe the SEC and LSU's relationship right now?
- 7:09Speaker 7: Well, I don't, um, I don't think that, um, there's a,
- 7:15Speaker 7: a lot of, um, Pleasantries probably being exchanged.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Between the two sides. I think there's a lot of
- 7:22Speaker 3: frustration in the SEC room at specifically targeted at LSU. Look,
- 7:29Speaker 3: LSU is not the only one that have done this.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Plenty of other... I think some people are kind of
- 7:35Speaker 2: missing that point, though, Ross. Yep, yep.
- 7:39Speaker 3: They are, and I understand that. Now, it's probably fair
- 7:42Speaker 3: to say that... LSU is being the most aggressive.
- 7:45Speaker 2: That as well. That is also a fact. Yeah.
- 7:48Speaker 3: So, so in, in, in, you know, their head coach
- 7:51Speaker 3: has been publicly aggressive about it. And, and, you know, that's, that's,
- 7:56Speaker 3: that's fine. That's his prerogative, but that comes with criticism.
- 7:59Speaker 3: And I think that's why you're seeing that, you know,
- 8:04Speaker 3: they met, obviously the SEC had a previously scheduled joint
- 8:07Speaker 3: meeting of ADs and presidents this past week about, a
- 8:12Speaker 3: self-governance model, the way I just was talking about, about
- 8:15Speaker 3: an NCAA governance breakaway. And the meetings were mostly spent
- 8:22Speaker 3: on this, on the eligibility. And I think in the
- 8:28Speaker 3: room was pretty tense. It maybe got a little heated
- 8:31Speaker 3: at times. Because I do think that there's some frustration
- 8:37Speaker 3: from Many of SEC presidents and athletic directors and how
- 8:43Speaker 3: LSU is approaching this so aggressively. And, you know, I
- 8:50Speaker 3: believe they passed the rule with mostly with, you know,
- 8:54Speaker 3: LSU in mind.
- 8:54Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 8:57Speaker 6: Ross, we're eight, what, eight, nine days away from the
- 9:00Speaker 6: first Saturday in college football and rosters, which it's crazy
- 9:04Speaker 6: to say that, I mean, at least LSU's roster is
- 9:07Speaker 6: I guess penciled in at this point. You got NFL
- 9:10Speaker 6: cuts coming up here. And, you know, who ever thought
- 9:13Speaker 6: we'd be in a world to say, like, we're waiting
- 9:14Speaker 6: on NFL cuts to see what our final.
- 9:16Speaker 2: College rosters are.
- 9:17Speaker 6: But, like, what do you think, like, with all these
- 9:21Speaker 6: lawsuits and this battle, NCAA, all these conferences against these
- 9:26Speaker 6: players and these states and these lawyers, like, what's a
- 9:29Speaker 6: realistic time frame to be like, what is the final
- 9:32Speaker 6: decision going to be for week one? of college football
- 9:36Speaker 6: on a lot of these players that are coming from
- 9:37Speaker 6: the NFL. Is Lane just going to, or all the
- 9:42Speaker 6: other schools that are looking at this, they're just going
- 9:43Speaker 6: to have to make a decision and be like, our
- 9:45Speaker 6: attorney says it's cool and they're going to dress out?
- 9:47Speaker 6: Or is there going to be some sort of black
- 9:50Speaker 6: and white rule set in place before week one?
- 9:56Speaker 3: Well, I think you've got to look at these court
- 9:58Speaker 3: cases and the timing of them. I mean, I think today,
- 10:01Speaker 3: I would imagine today, if he hasn't already done it,
- 10:04Speaker 3: the Louisiana judge will accept the plaintiff attorney's amended complaint
- 10:10Speaker 3: to add the SEC as a defendant, and Greg Sinkey
- 10:14Speaker 3: as a defendant, and the judge will probably prohibit the
- 10:18Speaker 3: SEC from enforcing his rules. So at that point, LSU
- 10:22Speaker 3: could sign these players, add them to the roster, and
- 10:26Speaker 3: then there's a preliminary injunction hearing. So what the judge
- 10:31Speaker 3: is doing now is a temporary restraining order. It's very
- 10:33Speaker 3: temporary until you have a fuller hearing with all parties,
- 10:39Speaker 3: and that will be on Thursday, two days before the
- 10:42Speaker 3: season opener. And the judge could, during that hearing, deny
- 10:47Speaker 3: the injunction and eliminate The TRO.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Something tells me he won't do that, but he could.
- 10:56Speaker 3: So that that after the preliminary injunction hearing on Thursday,
- 11:00Speaker 3: you'll know more for sure who at least can play
- 11:03Speaker 3: that weekend. But then a trial carries out and you'll
- 11:07Speaker 3: have a trial date. The problem is, is that trial
- 11:09Speaker 3: day in the trial won't probably play out until after
- 11:12Speaker 3: the season. So it's sort of moot.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Oh, so much going on.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Ross, when you talk with athletic directors and commissioners, like
- 11:22Speaker 4: maybe privately, are they more frustrated with schools like exploiting
- 11:26Speaker 4: these loopholes or maybe with the NCAA for allowing the
- 11:30Speaker 4: system to kind of get to a place where these
- 11:31Speaker 4: loopholes even exist?
- 11:35Speaker 3: Well, I think there's frustration, a lot of, a lot
- 11:37Speaker 3: of things. Um, there is plenty of frustration toward the NCAA. Um,
- 11:45Speaker 3: But we kind of have to remember the NCAA is
- 11:48Speaker 3: just the schools. People forget that. The NCAA is a
- 11:54Speaker 3: voluntary membership organization where the rules of the organization are
- 12:00Speaker 3: created by the member schools and conferences.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Right.
- 12:03Speaker 3: You often hear like this NCAA quote committee or that
- 12:08Speaker 3: NCAA committee or group. All those committees... are school administrators
- 12:14Speaker 3: or coaches or university presidents or conference commissioners that sit
- 12:19Speaker 3: on those committees. They make the rules. The NCAA only
- 12:22Speaker 3: enforces the rules and puts on championships, basically. So they're
- 12:26Speaker 3: doing the school's bidding. So what's happening is you're just
- 12:30Speaker 3: seeing a splintering from the schools. You have You know,
- 12:37Speaker 3: the schools are, I mean, look, it's no secret. I
- 12:40Speaker 3: think I was the first maybe to write about last week,
- 12:42Speaker 3: like LSU is behind this Louisiana lawsuit. They sort of
- 12:49Speaker 3: helped engineer it. And so you have a school who
- 12:56Speaker 3: is part of the membership organization in which it voted
- 13:01Speaker 3: for rules that now it is supporting the breaking of
- 13:04Speaker 3: those rules. And this has been going on for a while,
- 13:07Speaker 3: and it's certainly splintering the NCAA. But, you know, not
- 13:13Speaker 3: that I'm making an excuse for what LSU and other
- 13:15Speaker 3: schools have done, supporting the breaking the rules that they've
- 13:20Speaker 3: created themselves, but this is a competitive market. And it
- 13:25Speaker 3: is more competitive than ever because of the money involved.
- 13:29Speaker 3: And when the NCAA allowed... schools to directly pay athletes
- 13:34Speaker 3: through the house settlement last year, it opened the door
- 13:38Speaker 3: to a lot of this happening more and more because
- 13:41Speaker 3: now you go from, no matter what they say, an
- 13:45Speaker 3: amateurism entity to a professional entity. And we're in the
- 13:50Speaker 3: middle of what I like to call sort of the
- 13:53Speaker 3: purgatory between amateurism and professionalism and college leaders don't want
- 13:57Speaker 3: to go full They don't want to go collect a bargain.
- 14:01Speaker 3: They don't want to go employment, and that's fine.
- 14:04Speaker 7: But if you don't do that, this is the result.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Yep. That's what we've been talking about here for a very,
- 14:10Speaker 2: very long time.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Ross, I'm sure you have like 17 interviews to do today,
- 14:14Speaker 4: so we certainly appreciate you giving us a couple of
- 14:16Speaker 4: minutes here on OTB this morning.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Anytime, guys. Good to be on.
- 14:19Speaker 2: All right.
- 14:19Speaker 4: There he is, Ross Dellinger. You can follow him at
- 14:22Speaker 4: Ross Dellinger on Instagram. Does a great job for Yahoo Sports.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Also does some work for On3 as well. Guy's always,
- 14:30Speaker 4: always working. And we certainly appreciate his time.
- 14:34Speaker 2: So much to unpack. Just the most.
- 14:37Speaker 6: You nearly have to have a law degree to be
- 14:39Speaker 6: able to follow a lot of what's happening.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Well, I mean, it's in your blood. It's in my blood.
- 14:44Speaker 2: It's Father's Underturning. You've said that. I guess in a nutshell,
- 14:49Speaker 2: it's just an absolute mess. And I mean... To push
- 14:54Speaker 2: the envelope on the competitive advantage, of course.
- 14:57Speaker 6: Like you said, LSU has kind of spearheaded this thing
- 15:01Speaker 6: a little bit.
- 15:04Speaker 2: It's so close to the season. If we're in the summertime. Yeah.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Thursday before the game, you'll actually kind of. You got
- 15:13Speaker 2: real games. You can't play game one if you sign
- 15:16Speaker 2: on Thursday. Well, that's kind of like this whole deal.
- 15:21Speaker 2: There's a lot to unpack. I understand that.
- 15:23Speaker 4: But also, I'm going to want LSU to have the
- 15:27Speaker 4: best version of LSU. I'm biased in that, obviously. LSU's
- 15:33Speaker 4: going to have a player that just got granted. We
- 15:35Speaker 4: talked about Ed Drescher from Notre Dame. He wasn't in
- 15:39Speaker 4: training camp. The training camp portion of it is the
- 15:42Speaker 4: thing that I keep getting stuck on just because you
- 15:46Speaker 4: and I have been in that position.
- 15:47Speaker 2: We've been in those meetings. We've been in those rooms.
- 15:49Speaker 4: We kind of know what advantages you get when you
- 15:51Speaker 4: are sitting in those rooms. But no matter what my
- 15:55Speaker 4: belief is, no matter what we agree, disagree, whatever, I
- 15:58Speaker 4: think LSU's got a great football team, as it is
- 16:01Speaker 4: right now.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Games are starting for LSU next Saturday.
- 16:07Speaker 4: In the NFL, we were always taught, get distractions the
- 16:10Speaker 4: hell out of here. At some point, and we said
- 16:14Speaker 4: it in the group chat yesterday, just spot the damn ball,
- 16:16Speaker 4: let's go play some football.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Let's roll with this team. Would those players help?
- 16:20Speaker 4: Yeah, those are good football players. Those are really good
- 16:24Speaker 4: football players. I know that they would help. If there's
- 16:26Speaker 4: a loophole and you want to exploit that loophole to
- 16:29Speaker 4: make your team better, that's Lane Kiffin's job, to make
- 16:32Speaker 4: this team the best version that it possibly can be
- 16:34Speaker 4: if there is a way to do so.
- 16:37Speaker 2: I get all of that. I do.
- 16:40Speaker 4: But I do worry that we're getting so close to
- 16:42Speaker 4: the season that this becomes something that bleeds into the
- 16:45Speaker 4: season and Right, wrong, or indifferent, us as football players,
- 16:50Speaker 4: football coaches, administrators, whatever, distractions are something you don't want
- 16:55Speaker 4: anywhere close to your team this close to the season.
- 16:57Speaker 6: Yeah, and it certainly is a distraction, at least outside
- 17:00Speaker 6: of the facility. We have no idea what the temperature
- 17:03Speaker 6: is inside the facility. We've got to at least pretend
- 17:06Speaker 6: that they're keeping them pretty sheltered from as much as
- 17:09Speaker 6: they can. But I do have a couple of other
- 17:11Speaker 6: questions that just popped up in my head about this
- 17:14Speaker 6: whole situation about the penalties that the SEC has threatened.
- 17:18Speaker 2: But let's do that on the other side. Clock integrity-ish.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Laundry prob. Matthew Flynn.
- 17:26Speaker 8: A little bit.
- 17:28Speaker 2: More OTB when we come back here live. Off the bench.
- 17:32Speaker 2: We've got Devin Stowe joining us in 13 minutes. All right.

- 20:16Speaker 2: Wait, what's going on with that mic? I don't know.
- 20:18Speaker 8: It's just kind of like, you don't want me to
- 20:20Speaker 8: describe it, because I'm going to describe something inappropriate.
- 20:22Speaker 5: No, you can't.
- 20:22Speaker 2: It's after. It's limp. Okay. Yeah, it's limp. A little limp. Rejuvenate?
- 20:26Speaker 2: We good.
- 20:27Speaker 8: I mean, look, I've been working on my posture a
- 20:29Speaker 8: lot lately, so I can afford to do this.
- 20:31Speaker 2: There we go. There we go. Wow. Radio Pro. Not
- 20:35Speaker 2: a big deal.
- 20:37Speaker 6: Trust me, I sat at that same spot for multiple
- 20:40Speaker 6: years with that same limp microphone.
- 20:42Speaker 2: That's very true. What y'all doing with these Pokemons right here, huh?
- 20:46Speaker 2: We're going to open them. You start opening them if
- 20:48Speaker 2: you want to right now. You want me to be
- 20:50Speaker 2: a part of that, man?
- 20:51Speaker 8: Because I'd like y'all to get a Charizard. Y'all going
- 20:53Speaker 8: to probably get a Diglett if we open it up
- 20:55Speaker 8: with me. Y'all going to get a holographic Diglett.
- 21:00Speaker 4: The card game not going well for you, Dev?
- 21:02Speaker 8: No, it's going bad. I can't be ungrateful. It's going bad.
- 21:04Speaker 2: All right, fair enough.
- 21:06Speaker 8: I had to branch out of football and basketball and
- 21:09Speaker 8: just start looking at Marvel and Disney.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I've done a little Marvel. I've done a little Disney.
- 21:14Speaker 8: When I got that Hannah Montana out of 150, bro,
- 21:15Speaker 8: I started feeling real good.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Okay, all right.
- 21:18Speaker 10: Hannah Montana?
- 21:18Speaker 2: Yeah. Hell yeah.
- 21:21Speaker 6: I got to say, the barrier of entry, like, cost-wise
- 21:23Speaker 6: to sports is up there. So that's kind of when
- 21:26Speaker 6: I started looking at the Star Wars, the Marvel stuff, Disney.
- 21:30Speaker 8: And just the general idea of, like, the whole world
- 21:33Speaker 8: watches Disney. Yeah. The whole world, they don't watch UFC and, you.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Know, NFL. They're not going to have a bad game either. No.
- 21:41Speaker 2: That's true.
- 21:42Speaker 10: No.
- 21:43Speaker 8: And they got rookie cards.
- 21:44Speaker 2: They do.
- 21:45Speaker 8: It's like, dude, what are they going to do that.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Rookie year?
- 21:50Speaker 8: Where do I tune in for that rookie season?
- 21:52Speaker 4: I started going baseball. I just feel like I got
- 21:55Speaker 4: more hits in baseball. And I don't even watch baseball
- 21:57Speaker 4: like that anymore like I once did. But in football,
- 22:00Speaker 4: I couldn't buy a card. I didn't have a sellable
- 22:03Speaker 4: card forever. I was like, I'm not doing this anymore.
- 22:05Speaker 4: I can only get so many K Club Knicks.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Right? We got one. Which is one. Which is one.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Which is one of those.
- 22:14Speaker 4: I can only get so many. Let me think of
- 22:18Speaker 4: like a Theo Johnson tied in from the Giants.
- 22:22Speaker 2: How many Theo Johnson did we get?
- 22:24Speaker 8: He went off against the Saints. I'll never forget Theo Johnson.
- 22:28Speaker 3: He went on.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Devin Neal.
- 22:28Speaker 6: I get so many Devin Neal cards. And I hope
- 22:31Speaker 6: he's going to have a great year, but I was
- 22:33Speaker 6: tired of seeing Kool-Aid.
- 22:34Speaker 8: You got the hamstring of a gerbil right now.
- 22:37Speaker 4: Everybody on the Saints has the hamstring of a gerbil.
- 22:40Speaker 8: Like I said, build the artificial hamstring. Get ahead of
- 22:42Speaker 8: the game. You know what I'm saying?
- 22:44Speaker 2: You know how we used to do it? We used
- 22:45Speaker 2: to get the old, you know, the TheraBand, like where
- 22:47Speaker 2: you kind of stretch out with?
- 22:48Speaker 4: We would get it, and you take one part to
- 22:51Speaker 4: the top of your leg and the other part to
- 22:53Speaker 4: like right above your knee, right?
- 22:54Speaker 2: And you create a fake hamstring.
- 22:56Speaker 10: I saw a video of, like, an athletic trainer taping.
- 22:59Speaker 8: And how much they cost, $ 0 or $ 1?
- 23:00Speaker 2: Yeah, $ 1. 50 for the TheraBand.
- 23:03Speaker 8: I just question what the Saints are doing with that stuff, bro.
- 23:05Speaker 8: They got to get scientific with this at this point, man.
- 23:08Speaker 2: It's crazy. I mean, hamstring injuries on that team.
- 23:11Speaker 6: I mean, they're cloning animals all over the place. They're bringing, like,
- 23:14Speaker 6: saber-toothed tigers back and woolly mammoths back. You can make
- 23:17Speaker 6: a hamstring.
- 23:18Speaker 8: I think they can, too. I mean, and it would
- 23:20Speaker 8: be like revolutionary for Ashton. And Ashton needs to do it.
- 23:23Speaker 8: I don't know if Ashton's a sponsor. Like 3D print one? Okay, well, hey,
- 23:27Speaker 8: thanks for helping me out a couple times. But, yeah, no,
- 23:29Speaker 8: I think, I really think that we need to do something, bro.
- 23:32Speaker 2: It's bad.
- 23:32Speaker 8: They're driving like flies, man.
- 23:35Speaker 2: And there's no substation. We looked. Not one close enough
- 23:38Speaker 2: for it to matter. There's enough stuff in the air there.
- 23:41Speaker 2: That's true. But if they can stay healthy, it's a
- 23:44Speaker 2: big if.
- 23:44Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 23:45Speaker 4: I mean, Dev, I went to practice against Jacksonville the
- 23:47Speaker 4: day that they scrimmaged them.
- 23:49Speaker 2: It was incredible. Yeah.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Jacksonville couldn't stop them on offense, and Jacksonville couldn't block
- 23:54Speaker 4: the Saints' defense. Like, if we get all of those
- 23:57Speaker 4: people on the field for New Orleans, they're going to
- 24:00Speaker 4: be good.
- 24:00Speaker 8: Well, and I think the main thing is it's like
- 24:03Speaker 8: what we saw out of the sample size that we
- 24:05Speaker 8: saw out of Shuck last year is that he can
- 24:06Speaker 8: play with anybody.
- 24:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:08Speaker 8: So as long as that dude don't get hurt, then
- 24:10Speaker 8: we got a shot, bro. It don't matter who's playing.
- 24:12Speaker 2: That's why he hadn't put on a shoulder pad yet.
- 24:15Speaker 2: He hadn't thought about strapping him.
- 24:16Speaker 8: I saw somebody on Twitter, I need to see Shaq play.
- 24:19Speaker 8: You better go play Madden or something, dude.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I did see somebody, and look, everybody's entitled to their opinion.
- 24:24Speaker 4: I saw somebody just go after the Saints because of
- 24:27Speaker 4: the preseason game results.
- 24:28Speaker 2: And I'm like, you got to understand. And I said that.
- 24:32Speaker 2: I said, I know the feeling doesn't feel great. I
- 24:34Speaker 2: know it doesn't.
- 24:35Speaker 4: But you also have to understand that there's been years
- 24:38Speaker 4: where the Saints have gone Ofer in the preseason had
- 24:40Speaker 4: been 13-3, like that portion of it. And also, they
- 24:43Speaker 4: had three joint practices with different teams. That's what that
- 24:47Speaker 4: coaching staff is using to try their new stuff and
- 24:50Speaker 4: try their veteran players. So even more so than normal
- 24:54Speaker 4: with having three joint practices, the Saints aren't giving you anything.
- 24:57Speaker 8: Yeah, I think that's like what your grandma will always
- 24:59Speaker 8: tell you who's watched the Saints for hours. You know,
- 25:02Speaker 8: last time I saw the Saints lose all their preseason games,
- 25:05Speaker 8: they went to the Super Bowl. It's like, yeah, you're right.
- 25:07Speaker 8: You're right, Grandma. You know, so that's how I got
- 25:09Speaker 8: to view.
- 25:10Speaker 2: It, man.
- 25:13Speaker 6: So you aren't a big fan of the backup and
- 25:16Speaker 6: third string quarterback play this preseason?
- 25:19Speaker 8: I was excited about it.
- 25:20Speaker 2: It wasn't great.
- 25:21Speaker 8: Going into it, I was excited about it. But it
- 25:23Speaker 8: just wasn't. Like, the first game was fun. Zach Wilson
- 25:26Speaker 8: looked like, you know, like he transformed. But after that, man,
- 25:30Speaker 8: they just looked like two guys that shouldn't be the two.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 25:33Speaker 8: Would look like to me bro i mean i don't
- 25:35Speaker 8: know what they're gonna do i guess they're just gonna
- 25:36Speaker 8: keep rattling.
- 25:37Speaker 6: This is so hard man it's so hard to like
- 25:39Speaker 6: to judge and to evaluate.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Because you feel better the day that i went to
- 25:43Speaker 4: practice spencer rattler was dicing up jacksonville as well.
- 25:47Speaker 6: That's why that's why it's hard to to diagnose from
- 25:49Speaker 6: these games because so few people are playing in the
- 25:52Speaker 6: games anymore and so i gotta think that they're going
- 25:55Speaker 6: even more vanilla than they used to go like when
- 25:58Speaker 6: the starters were playing so what can you learn when
- 26:00Speaker 6: you're On defense, like the defensive players as well. Like
- 26:04Speaker 6: what can you, what can you learn and like make decisions,
- 26:06Speaker 6: roster decisions based on when you're only both operating on
- 26:11Speaker 6: day one and two install.
- 26:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:13Speaker 2: It's, it's, it's, I don't know.
- 26:16Speaker 6: That's why we kept talking about, you're learning so much
- 26:19Speaker 6: more about these roster cuts and practice than you are
- 26:21Speaker 6: the game.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Now the game got to count for something. Yeah, certainly.
- 26:25Speaker 6: You can't like make stupid decisions. Fumbles and stupid interceptions.
- 26:29Speaker 2: And stuff like that.
- 26:30Speaker 8: Well, yeah, pick on the goal line.
- 26:31Speaker 2: You can't do that.
- 26:32Speaker 8: You got Suite Life and Zack and Cody commentating.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:35Speaker 8: I mean, it was a bad look.
- 26:37Speaker 4: Brenda.
- 26:37Speaker 8: It was a bad look. All the Disney fans saw that.
- 26:39Speaker 2: London Tipton. Yeah, all the Disney fans did see that.
- 26:42Speaker 2: That's a great point. Flynn has no idea what we're
- 26:45Speaker 2: talking about. It makes it even better. Oh, okay, yeah.
- 26:48Speaker 8: Brenda Song, you don't know her?
- 26:50Speaker 5: No.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Okay.
- 26:51Speaker 10: She's married to Macaulay Culkin.
- 26:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:54Speaker 2: So apparently she's.
- 26:56Speaker 10: Like a football fan. I think a Rams fan.
- 26:59Speaker 2: She's one of 17.
- 26:59Speaker 8: So she called a game or something.
- 27:02Speaker 2: I can't laugh at that because we've got 16 Charger fans.
- 27:05Speaker 2: And five of them are Hesters. So what did she do?
- 27:09Speaker 10: She was in Suite Life with Zack and Cody. It
- 27:10Speaker 10: was like a kid's Disney show. She was in a
- 27:12Speaker 10: ton of movies too.
- 27:13Speaker 2: She was an analyst for the game. Baldor.
- 27:17Speaker 8: Sweet Life of Zack and Cody, the kids that played
- 27:21Speaker 8: the twins.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:22Speaker 8: That's the kids from Big Daddy?
- 27:24Speaker 2: Big Daddy, yeah. Let's go. Yeah, Big Daddy.
- 27:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:26Speaker 2: The little boy. She actually is on. Ashley Tisdale? Do
- 27:30Speaker 2: you know Ashley Tisdale? On Trading Car. I think I do.
- 27:33Speaker 8: She's the blonde from Sweet Life of Zack and Cody. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 27:36Speaker 4: So you know how Topps has fans and announcers have
- 27:38Speaker 4: autograph cards in some of their football releases this year?
- 27:41Speaker 2: Yeah. She's got one for the Rams. Oh, she does?
- 27:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:43Speaker 2: She's in Topps football? Anne Hathaway's in there for the Eagles.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Mike Trout's in there for the Eagles.
- 27:48Speaker 8: Who's in there for the Saints?
- 27:50Speaker 2: I don't know. They need to get Theo. It needs
- 27:52Speaker 2: to be Theo or Harry Connick Jr. Maybe somebody like that.
- 27:56Speaker 2: I'd take a Theo card. Too expensive, bro.
- 27:59Speaker 8: Can we stop on the Harry Connick Jr. thing real quick?
- 28:02Speaker 8: I got you, bro.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I have to.
- 28:03Speaker 8: I think this is a good time.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 28:05Speaker 8: I never understood it. I really didn't. I know he's
- 28:08Speaker 8: from New Orleans. I never see him. I never see
- 28:10Speaker 8: him performing. I never.
- 28:12Speaker 2: I don't either.
- 28:13Speaker 4: So you're saying, like, how's he famous? No, not how's
- 28:16Speaker 4: he famous. Or why is he claiming New Orleans when
- 28:18Speaker 4: he doesn't live there?
- 28:19Speaker 8: I guess what I'm asking is why, when you ask
- 28:21Speaker 8: the general consensus of the people from Louisiana, who should
- 28:24Speaker 8: represent New Orleans, why do they say Harry Connick so quickly?
- 28:28Speaker 2: That's a good point.
- 28:29Speaker 8: I don't know if he's top of mind for me ever.
- 28:33Speaker 8: I just want to see what he's doing. What is
- 28:35Speaker 8: he doing? I feel like Sidney Torres is more known.
- 28:39Speaker 2: So who should be the rep on the Saints card?
- 28:42Speaker 10: I just looked him up, and he has the same
- 28:44Speaker 10: birthday as Tay-Tay.
- 28:44Speaker 4: 9-11.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Hey.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Okay.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Shut up, Harry. Anthony Mackie could be it, maybe. I
- 28:49Speaker 2: don't know.
- 28:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:50Speaker 2: He still lives here. Jordan hates him. Jordan wouldn't. Jordan
- 28:52Speaker 2: does hate him. He would love that. For a stupid reason.
- 28:54Speaker 8: Well, you know, the easy answer would be, if life
- 28:57Speaker 8: would have went how it should have went, it would
- 28:58Speaker 8: be Lil Wayne.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Yeah. But he doesn't even like the Saints.
- 29:01Speaker 3: I know.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Packers or Steelers.
- 29:02Speaker 8: Packers, man.
- 29:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:03Speaker 8: And he claims because it's the Super Bowl in 97
- 29:07Speaker 8: when the Patriots played the Packers. I was at that,
- 29:10Speaker 8: what do you call it, the convention center thing. I
- 29:13Speaker 8: was there and they were giving out a bunch of
- 29:15Speaker 8: Packers stuff. But I didn't go home that night saying, hey,
- 29:17Speaker 8: you know what, this is the night. I'm switching to
- 29:20Speaker 8: a Packers.
- 29:20Speaker 4: Yeah, you went home and you're like, which quarterback named
- 29:23Speaker 4: Billy Joe is going to be our quarterback?
- 29:25Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
- 29:27Speaker 6: It was pretty fun to have Lil Wayne in the
- 29:30Speaker 6: locker room all the time when we were making that
- 29:32Speaker 6: Super Bowl run.
- 29:32Speaker 2: That was pretty fun. Oh, yeah, that's right. In 2010.
- 29:35Speaker 2: And he Not from Green Bay. And he made a song,
- 29:38Speaker 2: Green and Yellow.
- 29:39Speaker 8: And they still walk out to it. It's not a
- 29:41Speaker 8: great song.
- 29:42Speaker 2: It's a fantastic song. That's one of the... Hackers are
- 29:44Speaker 2: so cheesy.
- 29:45Speaker 8: The Black and Yellow Wiz Khalifa. That's one of the
- 29:47Speaker 8: most annoying songs ever, dude.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Y'all can have that one. Oh, Wiz Khalifa? We'll come
- 29:53Speaker 2: up with one. Yeah, he does sing that.
- 29:56Speaker 8: Speaking of which, the Saints need to figure it out, too,
- 29:57Speaker 8: for a new.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Okay. I like this Harry Connick take. It's not even
- 30:02Speaker 2: like a form of disrespect.
- 30:03Speaker 8: I just want to know.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Yeah, what is he... Currently, what is he doing?
- 30:07Speaker 8: Yeah, where's his album?
- 30:08Speaker 2: Where's his album? When's the last time he played in
- 30:09Speaker 2: New Orleans?
- 30:10Speaker 8: I'd like to ride home to New Orleans, listen to him.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Has anybody seen him play in New Orleans?
- 30:14Speaker 8: Never once.
- 30:16Speaker 2: I've never heard of anybody that's gone to see him.
- 30:17Speaker 8: They always just say he's here. Hey, Harry Connick's here.
- 30:20Speaker 2: I'm like, oh. Where's he at? Where's he at? Look,
- 30:23Speaker 2: I'm looking up tour dates, okay? Upcoming shows.
- 30:25Speaker 6: We'll see if he's actually still out there on the road.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Oh, man. Harry Connick Jr.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Currently does not have any upcoming tour dates on his
- 30:34Speaker 4: official website.
- 30:35Speaker 10: Okay, but he's preparing to release a deeply personal multimedia
- 30:40Speaker 10: project and book titled Babe. I don't know what that is.
- 30:46Speaker 8: I'll run to Barnes and Nobles and get that one.
- 30:48Speaker 10: A tribute to my mother.
- 30:50Speaker 8: It's funny you bring him up.
- 30:51Speaker 10: It's coming out next month.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Okay, so here's where he went this summer. He went
- 30:59Speaker 4: to Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Wisconsin, Illinois,
- 31:03Speaker 4: New York, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
- 31:08Speaker 8: He'll be back in New Orleans for the Saints game
- 31:10Speaker 8: that he's celebrating.
- 31:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 31:12Speaker 2: He went everywhere but here. This man did not go
- 31:14Speaker 2: below the Mason-Dixon line. There you go. More than twice.
- 31:17Speaker 6: He's going to fly back to New York City.
- 31:18Speaker 8: But I think he's rooted. I think he is rooted.
- 31:21Speaker 8: I think maybe his family.
- 31:22Speaker 10: I think his dad was a politician or something.
- 31:24Speaker 8: Oh, that's it.
- 31:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 31:26Speaker 8: That'll do it. That'll buy you a hundred years.
- 31:28Speaker 10: Let's see Harry Connick Sr.
- 31:30Speaker 2: I was about to say, all you got to do
- 31:31Speaker 2: is Harry Connick Sr. I mean, imagine if you were
- 31:34Speaker 2: a relative of like, I don't know. Yeah, district attorney
- 31:37Speaker 2: of Orleans Parish. He was a DA of Orleans Parish.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Okay.
- 31:39Speaker 2: All right. There it is. For 30 years.
- 31:45Speaker 10: Yeah, there it is.
- 31:47Speaker 2: For 30 years. 1973 to 2003, he was the DA. Wow.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:49Speaker 2: So shout out to Harry Connick Sr.
- 31:51Speaker 10: Okay, but his parents were from Mobile.
- 31:54Speaker 2: All right. You know what?
- 31:55Speaker 8: Let's put this on. Because, you know.
- 31:58Speaker 2: We go down rabbit holes here.
- 31:59Speaker 4: Oville always, you know, trying to act like they– Home
- 32:02Speaker 4: in a real Mardi Gras.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Mardi Gras. Oh, cool. Here he got a huge Mardi Gras.
- 32:06Speaker 6: We all think Oville– He'll play at Endymion Ball or
- 32:08Speaker 6: something pretty soon.
- 32:09Speaker 2: I bet he has already.
- 32:10Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 32:10Speaker 2: For sure. No doubt. All right, we'll take a break.
- 32:12Speaker 2: We've got more.
- 32:13Speaker 4: Dev's going to be in studio for the totality of
- 32:15Speaker 4: the show. Looking forward to having Dev here. We'll catch
- 32:18Speaker 4: up on Saints, maybe even some Pelican stuff. They made
- 32:21Speaker 4: a big signing. We got some Respect Your Body beer
- 32:25Speaker 4: that we got to talk about.
- 32:26Speaker 2: We'll do that when we come back. More OTB.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Off the bench.
- 32:30Speaker 4: All right, if your bathroom is starting to feel a
- 32:33Speaker 4: little outdated, you don't need a long, messy renovation to
- 32:36Speaker 4: give it a whole new look. Bath Fitter of Baton
- 32:38Speaker 4: Rouge can transform your tub or shower with a custom

- 34:41Speaker 2: 4.2%.
- 34:42Speaker 8: 16 ounces. Not going to waste nobody's time. You know,
- 34:48Speaker 8: light beer. First step to respecting your body.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Well, do we get to partake in the light beer?
- 34:53Speaker 8: I was about to say, I like the packaging.
- 34:55Speaker 2: I bought everybody a four-pack, too. Look, the packaging looks awesome.
- 34:59Speaker 3: Thank you, sir.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you, man. Respect your body. Blueberry light beer.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Look at our guy, though. Inspired by HTM. Old Mayo,
- 35:09Speaker 2: our boy. Here we go.
- 35:11Speaker 10: This is going to be my Kanye pregame.
- 35:13Speaker 2: How about this? Are you going to yay? Are you going? No,
- 35:16Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 35:17Speaker 8: Even if the Saints are playing preseason, I'm not going
- 35:19Speaker 8: to miss.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. Air cheers, Alondra. Air cheers. Cheers. Cheers.
- 35:25Speaker 5: Cheers.
- 35:26Speaker 2: Here we go. Respect your body. It's a Friday. How
- 35:30Speaker 2: about that? You didn't have to fake the sound this time. Oh, man.
- 35:36Speaker 2: That is good.
- 35:37Speaker 8: You think so?
- 35:38Speaker 3: I do.
- 35:38Speaker 2: I'm actually drinking. We're good. I gotta tell you, I'm
- 35:41Speaker 2: not just some guy.
- 35:42Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah. No, I mean, I've never had a bad
- 35:44Speaker 8: review on it. I'm being honest.
- 35:46Speaker 4: We've been with you for a long time, so we
- 35:47Speaker 4: kind of know the journey a little bit of how
- 35:49Speaker 4: this happened.
- 35:49Speaker 2: But for our listeners, tell us how all of this
- 35:52Speaker 2: kind of came to be that you have your own
- 35:54Speaker 2: Abita beer. I like this.
- 35:56Speaker 8: It's crazy, man, especially like today, right here, right now, because,
- 35:59Speaker 8: you know, I'm sitting here, I'm drinking my favorite beer.
- 36:01Speaker 8: That's been my favorite beer, not just respect your body,
- 36:03Speaker 8: but a beater. It's been my favorite beer since before
- 36:05Speaker 8: I was supposed to be drinking, you know? So I've
- 36:08Speaker 8: always loved a beater. So that was a dream come
- 36:11Speaker 8: true to get connected with them four years ago. And
- 36:14Speaker 8: then like, yeah, just to be right here, bro. I'm
- 36:16Speaker 8: sitting next to Matt Flynn and Jacob Astor drinking my
- 36:18Speaker 8: own beer. So yeah, dude, this is awesome. This is beautiful, man.
- 36:22Speaker 2: I love it.
- 36:22Speaker 8: How it came about, just been with Abita for, like
- 36:25Speaker 8: I said, four years. This is the third season of
- 36:29Speaker 8: Respect Your Body Light, and it was literally something as
- 36:31Speaker 8: simple as I was with them for a year doing, like,
- 36:34Speaker 8: you know, social media promotions, stuff like that. And then
- 36:36Speaker 8: I kind of just thought. And then when I thought,
- 36:39Speaker 8: I asked immediately. And I asked immediately. I was like, hey,
- 36:42Speaker 8: what do y'all think about doing a beer, Respect Your Body?
- 36:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:45Speaker 8: And then we just took it from there.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:47Speaker 8: And at first it was like, you know. But that
- 36:50Speaker 8: first drop, it sold out in a couple days, I think.
- 36:54Speaker 8: Second year, same thing. And then this year, I think
- 36:56Speaker 8: they got a little under 100 cases left. So people
- 36:59Speaker 8: love it, man. And it's not even tailgating season quite yet. No,
- 37:02Speaker 8: so what people do is they buy in flats. And look, dude,
- 37:06Speaker 8: I'm going to be honest with you, bro. They're not cheap.
- 37:08Speaker 8: I mean, I had a guy text me, Guggenheim's dad,
- 37:12Speaker 8: texting me. He's like, yeah, I'm at a beat right now.
- 37:14Speaker 8: A guy in front of me just bought 11 flats, $ 1, 100,
- 37:16Speaker 8: didn't even blink. And I'm like, dude, bro, this is
- 37:22Speaker 8: a good beer.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Probably flipping them. Good beer, dude. You can do things
- 37:25Speaker 2: on eBay. So, like, a taste of beer. And normally, like,
- 37:29Speaker 2: I'm a light beer drinker. Me too. I don't like
- 37:33Speaker 2: the IPAs, things like that. I don't like all the
- 37:35Speaker 2: hoppy stuff.
- 37:36Speaker 6: But, like, when I see something with the fruit on it,
- 37:38Speaker 6: I get a little bit iffy on it.
- 37:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:40Speaker 6: But there are a few beers out there that use
- 37:43Speaker 6: the fruit, like, in a very light way. That's what
- 37:45Speaker 6: this is. Like, you can taste it, but it's not
- 37:47Speaker 6: like it's a, Boom.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Blueberry drink.
- 37:49Speaker 8: Yeah, so like that's a common, when people see the beer,
- 37:53Speaker 8: they think fruity beer, right? Which, okay, yeah, it's got
- 37:56Speaker 8: fruit in it.
- 37:56Speaker 6: It tastes like a beer, like a really good beer.
- 38:00Speaker 8: When I was with the guy that was making this beer,
- 38:01Speaker 8: I told him, I said, dude, the main thing is
- 38:03Speaker 8: we have to keep it light. It has to be 4.2.
- 38:05Speaker 8: I want it to be smashable. And the second thing is, man,
- 38:09Speaker 8: I don't know if y'all remember a beer called Sweetwater Blue.
- 38:13Speaker 8: It's a brewery in Georgia.
- 38:14Speaker 3: Okay.
- 38:17Speaker 8: And they have a beer. Somebody in the chat is
- 38:19Speaker 8: going to remember it. But they had a beer. It
- 38:21Speaker 8: was called Sweetwater Blue, and I used to drink it
- 38:22Speaker 8: at Bulldog all the time on pint nights where you
- 38:25Speaker 8: could bring home the glasses and stuff. And I just
- 38:28Speaker 8: kept thinking of that beer, and I just remember how
- 38:30Speaker 8: much of it I used to drink in one sitting.
- 38:32Speaker 8: And I was like, dude, we got to do something
- 38:34Speaker 8: because at first they were like, hey, let's do a
- 38:35Speaker 8: red bean beer. And right away I was like, man,
- 38:39Speaker 8: that's what 99 out of 100 people in my situation
- 38:43Speaker 8: probably would have jumped on.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Would have done, yeah, for sure.
- 38:45Speaker 8: So I got to be different, man. I got to
- 38:47Speaker 8: make sure it's smashable for the people.
- 38:48Speaker 2: So that's what we did. I don't know if red
- 38:50Speaker 2: bean beer would have hit. Yeah, I think you made
- 38:52Speaker 2: the right decision. I think you did good. Have you
- 38:54Speaker 2: ever had the beer come hell or high watermelon? It
- 38:57Speaker 2: reminds me of that.
- 38:58Speaker 6: It's a brewery out of San Francisco, but I've seen
- 39:01Speaker 6: it other places throughout the country. Not very much, but
- 39:03Speaker 6: it reminds me of that. Just like this light fruit
- 39:05Speaker 6: flavor to it. It tastes like a really good light beer,
- 39:08Speaker 6: but then with a little bit of light fruit to it.
- 39:10Speaker 2: It's amazing.
- 39:11Speaker 8: And low on calories, man. And I think it's even
- 39:13Speaker 8: got a gram of protein. Respect you, Biden.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Look at you. We're building some muscle. It ain't no
- 39:17Speaker 2: big deal.
- 39:18Speaker 8: Let's go.
- 39:18Speaker 2: No big deal.
- 39:19Speaker 4: How many are you going to be drinking during the
- 39:21Speaker 4: Saints' final preseason game there, bud?
- 39:24Speaker 2: I know you're going to be watching for something.
- 39:26Speaker 8: Enough to where it goes by. I'm so ready for
- 39:28Speaker 8: preseason to be over.
- 39:28Speaker 5: I am.
- 39:30Speaker 6: Let's drug on. It's only three games, but it seems
- 39:32Speaker 6: like it's been 30.
- 39:33Speaker 8: I've never felt more certain that this has got to
- 39:37Speaker 8: be the last preseason. I just feel like it is.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Let's talk about that when we come back. All right.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Because I'm ready.
- 39:42Speaker 4: To get done and over with it and throw it away.
- 39:45Speaker 4: And if we had an 18th game, it makes even
- 39:47Speaker 4: more sense.
- 39:47Speaker 8: The fact that it's not gone and the Pro Bowl
- 39:49Speaker 8: is first was shocking. That's how bad I think it is.
- 39:52Speaker 4: I'll tell you why I think it's not gone just yet,
- 39:54Speaker 4: but I got a solution as well. We'll do that
- 39:56Speaker 4: when we come back here on OTB. off the bench

- 41:24Speaker 9: And what I do, act more stupidly. Bought more jewelry,

- 42:14Speaker 2: There you go. Shout out.
- 42:16Speaker 8: Do you fast like they tell you?
- 42:18Speaker 2: I did fast whenever. Before you do your labs. Before
- 42:21Speaker 2: I do them, yeah.
- 42:21Speaker 10: I don't want my lipids to be all crazy.
- 42:23Speaker 2: You don't want that cholesterol to be up. It's the cholesterol, right?
- 42:25Speaker 10: Yeah, it's like the cholesterol. I think like the maybe
- 42:29Speaker 10: your glucose.
- 42:30Speaker 2: I don't know. Look at us. Scientists.
- 42:32Speaker 8: I'm coming off a 24-hour fast two days ago.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Are you?
- 42:35Speaker 8: Yeah, it was crazy.
- 42:36Speaker 2: For what reason?
- 42:37Speaker 3: Why?
- 42:37Speaker 8: Just for football season.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Okay. Just to get ready. Because you know you are
- 42:41Speaker 2: not going to take care of it in football.
- 42:42Speaker 8: So you got to do it now.
- 42:43Speaker 5: You know.
- 42:45Speaker 6: You've got to be careful during football season when you
- 42:47Speaker 6: do something extreme like that because if you fast one
- 42:50Speaker 6: day and then the Saints blow someone out, you're like, oh, gosh.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Now I've got to do it every single week. If
- 42:56Speaker 2: you'd have done.
- 42:57Speaker 4: Those two games that Derek Carr looked good, you'd have
- 42:59Speaker 4: been dead.
- 43:01Speaker 8: Can you imagine fasting for Derek Carr? I would fast
- 43:04Speaker 8: to get rid of him.
- 43:05Speaker 2: I can't imagine doing anything for Derek Carr. Maybe review
- 43:08Speaker 2: a fast car. Was it Carfax? Carfax.
- 43:12Speaker 4: Anyways, on that note, yeah, let's get rid of the preseason.
- 43:16Speaker 4: They're kind of meaningless. They really don't matter. But I
- 43:20Speaker 4: don't say that to say don't do anything. Have joint practices.
- 43:24Speaker 4: Have two, three joint practices. That's where it goes down anyways. Now,
- 43:28Speaker 4: owners are greedy. And, look, for a reason. That's why
- 43:32Speaker 4: they're rich and that's how they have the power. They
- 43:34Speaker 4: charge full price for the preseason games. So they're like,
- 43:37Speaker 4: no way. Even if it's 30,000 people in the stadium,
- 43:41Speaker 4: I'm still making full price tickets. You could charge for
- 43:44Speaker 4: the joint practices. You could charge a fee. People could
- 43:47Speaker 4: go in. I think people would like that. People would
- 43:49Speaker 4: do that. But owners are going to want their money.
- 43:52Speaker 4: So I don't know where that money comes from. But
- 43:54Speaker 4: if you got rid of those, and in training camp
- 43:57Speaker 4: it was four weeks, and once a week for the
- 43:59Speaker 4: first three weeks you have two practices with another NFL team,
- 44:03Speaker 4: and then the last week it's all just you because
- 44:05Speaker 4: you don't want to get injured or have that wear
- 44:07Speaker 4: and tear on your body.
- 44:08Speaker 2: They're going to get their money, man. That's right. They're
- 44:11Speaker 2: going to get it, though. Oh, I know. It's going
- 44:13Speaker 2: to be an 18-game season. Not too long. There's going
- 44:16Speaker 2: to be 18 games in the season.
- 44:17Speaker 4: Add the game, get rid of the preseason, and let's ride.
- 44:20Speaker 4: We don't have it in college football.
- 44:22Speaker 2: You can do it. Yeah. Yeah.
- 44:26Speaker 6: You could charge for the joint practice, but I think
- 44:28Speaker 6: people realize real quickly when they go to a practice
- 44:30Speaker 6: that practices are boring.
- 44:31Speaker 5: Dude.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Yeah. Practices are boring. That's the thing.
- 44:34Speaker 8: Like, I would need, if I'm going to pay to
- 44:36Speaker 8: go to a practice, and I don't know what they
- 44:38Speaker 8: would be charging, just $ 5 or whatever, right? But if
- 44:40Speaker 8: it's like $ 25, $ 30, or I need it to be
- 44:44Speaker 8: Junction Boys in there. I need it to be. I
- 44:48Speaker 8: need three a day, two a day at least. You
- 44:51Speaker 8: know what I'm saying? Like, hey, we got a break.
- 44:53Speaker 8: Go get a smoothie and come back, and we back
- 44:55Speaker 8: to hitting pads.
- 44:56Speaker 4: Maybe there could be tiers to it. So, Deb, you've
- 44:58Speaker 4: been to Saints practice. Like, they're standing up in the
- 45:00Speaker 4: end zone.
- 45:00Speaker 2: That's $ 5. $ 5.
- 45:02Speaker 4: If you're in the corner, it's $ 10. If you want $ 50,
- 45:03Speaker 4: you got a little food or something, little beverages.
- 45:05Speaker 8: You want the finger sandwiches.
- 45:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:07Speaker 2: It's like $ 50. You can do it. You can do
- 45:09Speaker 2: some tea. You could. A hundred bucks, you can catch
- 45:12Speaker 2: a pass from Zach Wilson. Right there. Play catch with him.
- 45:15Speaker 2: What if I want to catch one for Rattler instead?
- 45:17Speaker 8: Play catch with Zach Wilson for a hundred. Who's like, yes? Oh,
- 45:24Speaker 8: there's like sign him.
- 45:25Speaker 2: There's a cougar out there. Oh, yeah. Oh, my God.
- 45:27Speaker 8: Oh, some lady in a battery ball. See that? She
- 45:30Speaker 8: headed right over, dude.
- 45:32Speaker 10: Those rich New Orleans ladies are going to be like.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 45:35Speaker 8: She live on Severn. Zach Wilson will wake up to
- 45:38Speaker 8: two kids and Paw Patrol.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Yeah. Cadillac Cafe wouldn't have a soul in it if
- 45:42Speaker 2: they were all friends.
- 45:43Speaker 8: Are you speaking from experience?
- 45:45Speaker 2: Oh, 100%.
- 45:46Speaker 8: I've been there, done that.
- 45:47Speaker 2: And Lafourche. Don't make me tell this story again.
- 45:52Speaker 8: Don't make me tell this story again. Every time I
- 45:55Speaker 8: tell it, all of Cutoff hits me up. They're like, oh, yeah,
- 45:57Speaker 8: we know her. And I didn't even say the name.
- 46:01Speaker 2: I'm like, why? There's only one. Oh, they gave you
- 46:03Speaker 2: the full description. They didn't even need a name. Oh,
- 46:07Speaker 2: my God. I love it. All right.
- 46:09Speaker 4: Like I said, we're going to have Dev for the
- 46:10Speaker 4: full last hour as well. I do want to get
