- 0:05You know it. M hmm. We need to start doing more hot takes.
- 0:27Like beginning of each episode is just something like just randomness, like what
- 0:36I mean, like we used to or just have random conversations. Then just
- 0:41one of us randomly starts. Mm hmm. I mean this could this right
- 0:46here could definitely be the hot take. Yeah, most certainly could. I
- 0:51probably will put it that way. Mm hmmm. I'm Cosmo, this is
- 0:56Wanda, and we're your fairy godparents. No, no, my god,
- 1:03we don't want to be copyrighted. I mean I don't know. There's so
- 1:04many content creators out there that like they always do that. Yeah, so
- 1:12I don't know, like what happens. I think like SpongeBob and Very OddParents
- 1:15are now like public domain. No they're not. They're not public domain in
- 1:23the United States. You need at least what it's like, what almost one
- 1:26hundred years or something after the after publication and or eighty some something like that,
- 1:34after a person's death or some shit. I mean Mickey Mouse while Steamboat
- 1:38Willie just went up to public domain as of January beginning of this month.
- 1:44Oh my god. Yeah, not the design of Mickey Mouse we have today,
- 1:49but the original original one. Wow, the little that little mouse on
- 1:57the boat that would just wish yep, yeah, steamboat Willie. So we
- 2:01can say, so you can leave steamboat Steamboat Willie in here, but you
- 2:05would probably have to like redact or censor anytime I say like barely Odd parents
- 2:09or SpongeBob. Oh, no, you can keep that in there. You're
- 2:13just saying it. We're not like, we're not showing any depictions of them,
- 2:17gotcha. Yeah, huh Well, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for
- 2:24joining us on the book Watchers. That was our take copyright in anyway.
- 2:34Uh. I am one of your hosts with although I want to say the
- 2:39most, I feel I don't feel like I deserve to say that right now.
- 2:42So I'm I'm your host Jacob, and of course I'm I'm joined with
- 2:49the beautiful, stunning and currently infected currently like, did you bitch, dare
- 3:00I get to drag you at least once? That's true? I did,
- 3:05I did it. I did expose if you were already exposed before. Yeah,
- 3:09So I'm joined with Devin, who is currently sitting at home in front
- 3:13of a live pre recorded audience. Yeah, and he just tested positive for
- 3:20COVID yeah, yeah, two days ago. It was on his it was
- 3:27on his partner's birthday. Yeah, and we were just yeah, so uh
- 3:34we all went to his house for his partner's birthday and Devin was like,
- 3:38oh, I'm not feeling so hot. I'm like, yeah, probably I
- 3:44had no fever or anything, because I was checking my fever throughout the day,
- 3:47no fever whatsoever. I was perfectly fine as far as that goes.
- 3:52And then oh god and that Yeah, the the end of the night,
- 4:00he started feeling fevers. So he took his temperature, a temperature of one
- 4:04hundred and one, and then he did a COVID test and he came back
- 4:09to positive. And I'll be honest, I was really I was really tipped
- 4:15off with him because the whole night he was fooling around and he kept poking
- 4:17me in the face. Yep, I did, because Devin here has a
- 4:23likes to he likes to bug me by poking me, and he poked me
- 4:26in the face with his COVID fingers. I said, I was sorry.
- 4:31I didn't know. I know, I'm just gonna ship, but I felt
- 4:39so bad. Yeah, I know you felt bad. And I felt bad
- 4:45afterwards because I was like, oh, man, I was probably really mean,
- 4:48Devin, you fucker Well, well we were probably I probably already was
- 4:59exposed to COVID, like around the same time you and uh housekeeper was yeah,
- 5:04housekeeper because Tiff housekeeper was also was also has also tested positive for COVID.
- 5:13And so the four of us, because James also got exposed, probably
- 5:18all got exposed at the same time. Because the four of us were also
- 5:23at a at a New Year's party, and then we all saw each other
- 5:28again at this game store we go to play D and D yeah and yeah,
- 5:34and then now Tiff and Devin are sick, and James and I were
- 5:40like, our allergies are really bad. Because every year around like we're recording
- 5:45right now in like January, this is our first this is our actual first
- 5:48episode of the New Year, twenty twenty four year. Yeah and uh,
- 5:59around this end of the year, it's a crazy thing. Dust from the
- 6:03Sahara Desert blows all the way across the Atlantic and settles right on San Antonio.
- 6:11Yeah, and I noticed it yesterday because I was working and when I
- 6:15was driving it rained a bit, and for some reason the rain was like
- 6:17this milky color. Yeah, it was kind of whitish instead of just clear.
- 6:23It was like had this whitish color and like as a dry it just
- 6:27left this like dusty residue everywhere. And I was talking to James. He
- 6:32was like, I'm not feeling good man, And he took a COVID test
- 6:34but he's negative, so he's fine. I'm negative, so I haven't caught
- 6:40COVID unless, of course, like unless of course I end up do catching
- 6:45COVID later because you certain someone over here couldn't keep his fucking fingers to himself.
- 6:48Oh my god. All right, but I'm but we're I'm we're just
- 6:58all like everyone's getting sick. Got half got COVID, the other half has
- 7:01like really bad allergies from like just San Antonio. Oh my god, we
- 7:05like all throughout the winter time are falling season just okay, so bad here.
- 7:15But anyway, and my roommate and my partner do not have it as
- 7:23of right now, no signs of it anyway, which is surprising. But
- 7:28they have showed no signs of it either, and I sleep next to one
- 7:32of them. Their mentality was kind of funny because at least with my partner,
- 7:39because he was like, you know what, shit happens, and I'm
- 7:42like, you're not gonna do you want me just to go to the room
- 7:45and just kill in there until him over this, And he's like no,
- 7:47It's like why if I'm if we're already, if you already have it,
- 7:51we're already contaminated, so why quarantine you. We ain't going anywhere. And
- 7:59they work from regardless me have COVID, they still have to go to work.
- 8:03So they're like, oh, we don't give a shit, but they
- 8:07haven't shown any signs yet. So I take my first COVID test again tomorrow
- 8:11to figure out to get an update on that what's going on there, But
- 8:20I'm moving it stud suit anyway. Welcome, Welcome to book watchers, where
- 8:30I think I think next Christmas in the New Year's I'm gonna have to just
- 8:33stay home because I get I this is my second time getting it around the
- 8:37time of the year. Last year was around Christmas, like right before Christmas,
- 8:41and then I got during New Year's. Whoever, whoever gave it to
- 8:45me, your mom's a how but yes, and for some reason, you
- 8:52like, I've been exposed to COVID more times than I care to it than
- 8:56I care to count. Or admit by it. I get to catch it.
- 9:03Knock on wooden, knock on wood nonetheless, welcome the book watches and
- 9:11the link descript In the description below, y'all see a link to the link

- 9:31to go check those out today. Now on to today's episode. Normally,
- 9:41mister giant fuck face McKee over here. Jacob normally leads the episode talk about
- 9:50some gay ship in a book for two hours, and sometimes I'll walk away
- 9:54and sometimes I don't. It's not that kind of such today, y'all.
- 10:01No, Devin decided he wanted to read some books from once I know,
- 10:07and I did. I've read several, well, kind of read. I
- 10:13consider it reading. It's it's not cheating, it's not, it's not it's
- 10:16still reading. It's audio books, but still reading because I follow a law.
- 10:22But I've been on an audio book kick. Audible please sponsor us,
- 10:28thank you so for the next couple of weeks, and then from there we
- 10:35go back. We'll go We'll basically just go start going back and forth because
- 10:37I'm getting to the book stin dig over here. So Jacob's not the only
- 10:41one anymore. So today I'm going to talk about it book. And let
- 10:46me tell you, I fucking love this book right from the get go.
- 10:52It's so good. Brahm is the author, and Sir, if I ever
- 10:56meet you, girl, I went about your Feet because I love I love
- 11:03this book. He is so good at his writing. So the book I'm
- 11:07gonna be talking about today is called slew Foot by Bram. Now. This
- 11:15book was published September twenty first, twenty twenty one, and it is a
- 11:24fantasy, historical fiction horror. Of course it was done. The book was
- 11:31written and illustrated by Bram Bram or aka Gerald Bram is an American Gothic fantasy
- 11:41artist as well as an author. Obviously, outside of writing the small list
- 11:50of books that he's written, he's written maybe god books has he written,
- 11:58He's written less than like. Outside of that, he does a lot of
- 12:03cover cover art for laughing. So he did the cover art for the books
- 12:07of the books with which is of the Coast, The War, The Spider
- 12:13Queen. That's six book series. He did the cover art for all that.
- 12:16He did the concept art for movies like Scooby Doo and Galaxy Quest.
- 12:22He's did video game covers for games like Diablo two, three, and four,
- 12:26and he's also done work for Wizard of the Wizards of the Coast,
- 12:33Magic the Gathering series. So he is pretty well ingrained and stuff. I
- 12:41like Surprising Leon and the illustrations in this book, like most of his books,
- 12:52have like a whole mid section of all, like his uh work is
- 12:56artwork, the go along, it goes along with the book. The book
- 13:01you read with like character designs, concept, dart, and shit. It's
- 13:03so goddamn good, Like sir, I needed to meet you. So what
- 13:11was his name again? Brom b r M And the book is Coarse slew
- 13:20Foot A Tale of b Witchery Soles. Start things off with this lovely,
- 13:28lovely story. This book centers around a young english woman named Abbatha Williams who
- 13:35was sent well Williams because she's married, but her first name is Abbatha,
- 13:41and she was sent to the New World in the nine and nineteen in the
- 13:46sixteen sixties to marry be married off to a stranger. This stranger was am
- 13:54sorry was a farmer known as Edward Williams, and she lives with him on
- 14:03a farm outside of a small village that they reside in. Abatha is a
- 14:11short, stringy, very thin woman with bright red hair. Of course,
- 14:18this is like during the sixteen hundred, so everything's all like fear. Okay,
- 14:24let me give you a good, good placement as far as time period,
- 14:28think the movie The Witch that setting. It's pretty much that Abatha is
- 14:37a child of a cunning woman, which for those of you who don't know,
- 14:43cunning folk or for the most part, cunning women are known as folkillers
- 14:50wise folk. They're the ones that do the healing remedies with herbs and stuff
- 14:56of that nature, as well as sometimes they practice witchcraft. So she doesn't
- 15:01consider this. Abbatha does not consider this witchcraft in anyway. She sees it
- 15:05as just using nature to his full as potential for healing and helpful remedies and
- 15:15charms to help herself as well as others that come to her for these such
- 15:22things. So that does distill that does very deep inside of her. She
- 15:33does practice the same the same things at her mother's, her mother, at
- 15:37her mother's mother, at her mother's mother's mother did. It's a long line
- 15:41of women that do these type of work. From there we start off the
- 15:50story in the New World. Of course, she meets Edward Williams she marries
- 15:56him. Edward is a man who is sadly gets taken advantage of. He's
- 16:02kind of a doormat unfortunately, and Abatha always tries to be like, hey,
- 16:10you shouldn't let people just walk all over you. She tries to encourage
- 16:14him to be more assertive in village life and not letting people, including his
- 16:21own family, walk all over him and take advantage of him of his kind
- 16:25nature. Now, Edward is very well aware of what his wife does and
- 16:32he's perfectly okay with it. He encourages it. In return, she also
- 16:38encourages him to be more, be more himself. So throughout the story,
- 16:47well it's mentioned a couple of times, but Edward likes to draw. But
- 16:52drawing apparently means witchcraft if he didn't know. So, Edward likes to doodle
- 17:00lot, and he was told at a very young age that's wrong, that's
- 17:03which craft, that's heresy, So he stopped doing that, but his wife
- 17:07always encourages him to pick that skill up again. Dive into that more and
- 17:15just be more himself instead of having to hire parts of himself away because of
- 17:18religion, because again during this time period, religion is everything God being a
- 17:23god fearing man fear God for everything. From there we also meet Edward's younger
- 17:33brother, whose name's Wallace, and he is a prime example of somebody who
- 17:38takes advantage of Edward. So the farm they live on outside their village is
- 17:47a farm that is owned by Wallace, but Edward and Abatha have him making
- 17:52payments on it to eventually have the farm be there by the time the story
- 18:00begins, they're on their last payments by the end of that year when they
- 18:04make their last payment of crop corn, whatever else they own the farm at
- 18:10that point. So the book then continues, and that's some background work,
- 18:23but it actually begins with their goat. Their goat known as Samson. Weird
- 18:33name for a goat, but okay, their lonely little black goat likes to
- 18:40want to go traveling in the woods, came across the cave, fell down
- 18:42to a ditch, and then was brutally murdered by something, some fay,
- 18:52some spirits. You don't really know what, but these things talk and you
- 18:59the spirits fee this goat to this creature that they call Father, and this
- 19:03is one of the two characters that this book jumps back and forth with Father
- 19:07and then Abitha, So it jumps back and forth a lot. So in
- 19:14this plot summary, talking about the main plot, I'm not going to go
- 19:18everywhere over every little nook and cranny because there's a lot that and some of
- 19:23the surprises in here, I don't want to give a lot away. Like
- 19:26the main points and like the ending is stuff I will talk about, but
- 19:30there's other little things here and there that are just not really that important,
- 19:36but they're kind of just fun to read. So I do encourage you to
- 19:37read this book after this episode if you're interested. Any hoosies. So,
- 19:45yeah, Father wakes up in this ditch. He's some spirit guardian thing.
- 19:49He doesn't know what the hell he is, but he's told by these what
- 19:53they call wild folk, hey, feed on this goat. You're the sl
- 20:00And he's like, what am I? I'm not alive, I'm dead and
- 20:04they're like, no, we brought you back. You have to say popo?
- 20:10What's po po? A tree that it's a tree that grows these fruit
- 20:19that is pure magic, and that is the underlying story with Samson aka slew
- 20:29Foot or the or Father spoiler alert, the Father. He is brought back
- 20:36to life by the wild folk to try and protect this new sapling that they
- 20:40that these spirits have planted, and they call it Popo, and it grows
- 20:45and grows into this bloody light tree that sprouts these fruit that if you eat
- 20:51said fruit, it gives you access to magic from the earth, from Mother
- 20:57Nature herself. It's a lot. It's cool though, the imagery in this
- 21:03book, like Brahm knows how to really paint a picture, I mean literally
- 21:07and figuratively. Yeah. Oh, from there we After her father is brought
- 21:17back, Abatha is of course looking for her goat that is now dead at
- 21:21the bottom of a ditch in this cave, and she is looking for Samson
- 21:26and she has no idea that he's dead, and she's like, well,
- 21:32shit, I lost a goddamn goat. Now I gotta go back home and
- 21:34tell my husband. Fuck. Because she is a woman that gets in trouble
- 21:41a lot. She likes to speak her mind and she is the one to
- 21:45add this to a repertoire of things. So she does go back home and
- 21:51she unfortunately tells her husband, Oh, yeah, so Samson, the goat
- 21:56is probably gone. Well now we're one. Now we're without a goat.
- 22:04So from there we kind of get to see Abbatha and Edward's life throughout with
- 22:12jumping back and forth between him and fought with them and father. Abbatha and
- 22:19Edward good town every every thing two days, things like Thursday and Sunday.
- 22:26I think that they go to church in the village and of course listen to
- 22:30the pastor and s view of the God's word blah blah blah blah blah blah
- 22:41religious and everyone looks down on Abatha because she is not of their town.
- 22:48She's from obviously from England, and they look down upon her for that as
- 22:52well as many other things. They don't like the fact that, huh,
- 23:00they're definitely the type that is like, we don't take kindly to your kind
- 23:03around here. That yeah, That and the fact that Abatha has a mouth
- 23:08on her. She won't take any shit from anybody. She has tensity to
- 23:12call people out. She likes to speak first, think later, Like she'll
- 23:18like someone say, oh, you're a bitch, and she'll turn around,
- 23:21you're a fucking come guzzie whore. And she's like, I probably shouldn't have
- 23:23said that because one part there's a bunch of women that fucking hate Abatha for
- 23:30whatever reason. And she turned around. I'm trying to think of the insult
- 23:36because it was so good. She turned around, she told she called them
- 23:38all a bunch of clucking a gaggle of clocking cunts. And I'm like,
- 23:47a gaggle of clucking cunts. I need to write that one down for an
- 23:52insult because it was I was like, oh, oh, this is great.
- 23:56I love Abatha. She's amazing. I need I have that insult in
- 24:00my insult book now. So groups of people out there, bro watch out.
- 24:07So there's a lot of that. It's great. It's great Old English.
- 24:11The way people speak is fantastic. It's funny. So town has looked
- 24:17too fondly of her. Edward and of course is a native to this town.
- 24:23His father was a well known farmer, and he rests in peace.
- 24:27His brother has his father's farm while he also has their farm, and of
- 24:33course Wallace gives the farm to Edwards. They cool pay it off. Great,
- 24:38you'll have the farm once you made your payments by being bad. The
- 24:41boom, and Wallace likes to take advantage of his brother and just like throws
- 24:48little jabs at him and takes more than he should or pops over whenever the
- 24:53hell he wants, like he can just walk in through the door and demand
- 24:56drink and food whatever he feels like. And Abbatha is like, what the
- 25:00fuck is he doing? We have really enough food to feed ourselves. Why
- 25:03the fuck are we feeding him? But he can go home? Why?
- 25:08So she's annoyed with him, as she should, and he does not like
- 25:14her either. So there's a lot of family drama between Edward Wallace and Abbatha
- 25:21throughout this whole story. We also go back to father, which he finds
- 25:26out he gets actually a good look of good look at himself and he's a
- 25:32goat man and they call the people of the town referred to him as Slewfoot.
- 25:38Of course, he's kind of a representation of the devil as well,
- 25:44so he tries to figure out who he is and was purpose is. Because
- 25:49he only has certain memories, he's missing a good chunk of himself as well
- 25:56as his life. He only knows little bits and snippets of stuff that's happened
- 26:00to him. His last life, but his children or the wild folk are
- 26:07not helpful and hit with him trying to figure out who he is or what
- 26:12he came or what he was like beforehand, because they just refer to him
- 26:18as the slayer the Guardian, that his job is to slay humans and take
- 26:23back the forest and protect Poe Poe and slaughter anyone that breathes, basically in
- 26:30the general direction of them. But he's like, there has to be more
- 26:33than me than just slaughtering. So he's going through a crisis of trying to
- 26:40figure out who the fuck he is now to go into the wild folk that
- 26:45revived him. So you have three These three spirits are known as Forest,
- 26:49which is now buckal up. She's gonna get weird. So Forrest is a
- 26:56possum that stands upright on his high as like eggs, and the possum's mouth
- 27:03is open and a child's face comes is coming out of the mouth, And
- 27:10that makes sense. So you have a possum standing up right, its mouth
- 27:15open and child's heads face sticking out of it like like kind of like a
- 27:18child's wearing a possum suit. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Yeah,
- 27:22it's like that. And then that's forest, and then you've got Sky,
- 27:26which is a crow with his beak open with a child's face coming out
- 27:32of it. And then you got Creek, which is a fish with a
- 27:37fish's mouth open. You see a child's face coming out of it. Let
- 27:42me tell you. Yeah, Yeah, these things are fucking weird. And
- 27:47the depictions of aren't working here are quite weird as well, because the show
- 27:52he drew depictions of these spirits, these wild folk, and they're fucking bizarre.
- 28:03But again I live for it. So there you go. You got
- 28:11Forest, Sky, and Creek. Now, of course they brought back be
- 28:18the Slayer kill the humans take back the land that's theirs, that does not
- 28:22belong to any of them. Everything was fine until the humans came over.
- 28:26That includes outside of the settlers from Europe. They also talk about the natives
- 28:33a lot, or the language that they use back in the day Indians.
- 28:37Of course, now we know that they're not we don't usually use the term
- 28:42Indian today, we just call the native, so the native folk. They
- 28:48also talk about them as well, because of course they talk about the the
- 28:52frozen bridge and how the people came from across that frozen bridge over into this
- 28:57land. And you get a little history lesson kind of too, about how
- 29:03they've been having this problem with these with people coming in ever since the migration
- 29:08with the frozen bridge from Russia over to North America. So how the wild
- 29:17folk don't like anybody white, Native, doesn't matter. They don't like you.
- 29:22You're sucking up the human You're sucking up the earth's resources. They're killing
- 29:26Mother Earth. We shall kill you and bathe in your blood. It's basically
- 29:30what it is. They're just like, hey, father, how about you
- 29:34go bathe in their blood, drink their blood. Bathe in their blood.
- 29:38Blood, blood, blood. That's their big things. Spill the blood of
- 29:41humanity, ravish them, and they're kind of blood thirsty. Well, Forrest
- 29:48is because Creek and Sky don't talk, but Forrest is kind of the mouthpiece
- 29:53that speaks for all three of them. He's also more of the radical of
- 29:59the three, of the three wild folk, and they are the last three
- 30:04of the Wauk as far as we know. They talk about how it's just
- 30:08those three left and how the others are gone. There are many, many,
- 30:12many other of these spirits Fay, Wowfu, wherever you want to call
- 30:18him. There's many more of them, but due to reasons, they're left
- 30:23and with these three of the use their combined magic to bring back Father from
- 30:29the dead. Now, Father does give these memories of a shaman that pops
- 30:36up in his head a lot, and he's like, who's this shaman?
- 30:41And or it's just like, you don't go near that shaman. Shaman's bad
- 30:45fucking news. You see him, kill him on site, don't go looking
- 30:49for him. And what does you do? You can get guess what happens
- 30:53there. So of course, the whole goal is to try, say pop
- 31:00Po, try to get more blood spilt so Popo can grow and get more
- 31:04fruit from this magical tree. And basically I kind of got the hunch that
- 31:11this pop Po tree is kind of like the the Garden. It's like,
- 31:19I don't know if it necessarily is a reference to the Garden of Eden and
- 31:22how the fruit gives you knowledge and shit, I'm kind of getting that vibe
- 31:26because they don't really explain Popo too much throughout the story. They kind of
- 31:30just say, oh, this tree was a big old thing back in the
- 31:33day and people got too hungry with it and they ended up killing it.
- 31:38But they never really give you more of a definite origin of this tree.
- 31:48But me being me and reading and reading and listening to it, I was
- 31:52like, is this the Garden of Eden and the Forbidden Fruit? There's also
- 31:55a serpent and that pops up a lot too in the story. There's a
- 31:59definite there. Yeah, there's den ay there, and I'm like, okay,
- 32:04I see you, bro, I see you. So from there they
- 32:09talk about how Popo used to be this of course is very humongous tree,
- 32:14and how they tell Father or like a fabricated will soon to be found out,
- 32:22a fabricated story of his life and how he he was only a slayer.
- 32:27He murdered everybody, that's all he ever did for Mother Earth. And
- 32:30He's like, I don't buy that. So he's not listening to any of
- 32:34the bullshit the spirits are telling him. He's like, I'm gonna go find
- 32:37out what is going on. So he starts venturing off, and well before
- 32:44then, Abbatha's husband gets murdered. So what happens there? He goes into
- 32:54the cave and he ends up falling into the hole as well, and he
- 33:04basically the spirit the wild folk kill him, kill Edward, and Father devours
- 33:10Edward's blood feeds on him. Abada has no idea what happened where her husband
- 33:16is, so they just notes, oh, he's dead. So they have
- 33:21a big old funeral for him, and she's now officially a widow and due
- 33:27to her father's her husband, my father's her husband's death. Wallace tries to
- 33:32take advantage of this because he has loans and debts of his own, and
- 33:36he tries to unction off the farm. Now, he tried doing this while
- 33:40Edward was still alive, but Edward is like with Abatha talking him through it
- 33:47basically, and she's like, because Wallace was like, oh, so we're
- 33:52gonna I'm gonna give the farm to this man, this powerful judge like figure.
- 33:59I think it was a judge, this judge like figure. Because I
- 34:01have loans and debts with him. I'm gonna give him your farm, so
- 34:06you have to pay him, but you're gonna have to pay him a whole
- 34:09lot more so you can get the farm. I maybe one day you might
- 34:14get the farm, but you'll be under his jurisdiction, not mine. And
- 34:17Abbatha is like, what the fuck do you mean? We have one payment
- 34:22left before this farm is ours. Why are you doing this? And Wallas
- 34:25is like, well, you know how it is. I don't want to
- 34:28give up my farm. My farm was my father's. You don't want me
- 34:34to give up that, right, big brother. And with Abbatha adas just
- 34:38like, nah, he's shitting you. Don't play that bullshit. So Edward
- 34:43finally stands up to his brother, and then not too long after he does
- 34:45that, he's dead. So now Wallace thinks this is easy pickings. He
- 34:50can get the farm back because a woman can't own shit. Love did Wallace
- 34:53snow? Because Abbath that got that bright idea. There is a widow inside
- 35:00the town that her husband died, but she's able to run the farm in
- 35:07his name, so technically she can own the farm. So she's like a
- 35:12ah, uh uh no, no, no, no, the farm is
- 35:15still under my control. And he's like, what the fuck do you mean
- 35:19your husband's dead, and she's like, uh, so I can still run
- 35:23the farm in his name and it belongs to me, and I have one
- 35:29more payment and once that payment is made at the end of October or I
- 35:35think it's the end of October or beginning of October, sometime in October,
- 35:37in October, and then once this payment is made in October during the harvest.
- 35:42This farm is fucking mine, and Wallace is like, no, it's
- 35:45fucking not. Oh. Wallace has a vendetta against his sister in law try
- 35:52to get this goddamn farm, and he just won't stop. He once she
- 35:57gets the hot, the the higher ups of the village to back her up
- 36:01on her end with the whole as long as she has the farm on her
- 36:07husband's name and she works it, it's hers he does. He comes back
- 36:13and he's like, hey, I will offer you. I will give you
- 36:15an offer. You give me the farm, you come live in my house.
- 36:21You'd be my servant to pay off your rest of your debts or and
- 36:24of course you can also marry my son so you can have a stance in
- 36:29this community. And she's like, are you fucking insane, I'm not marrying
- 36:35your my nephew, let alone moving into your goddamn house. The fuck Well,
- 36:43she lays into him. She's like, no, I'm not doing that
- 36:45shit. Of course that's the second plan, while it's like, fuck this
- 36:49shit. So she he bounces after that, and she tries to work the
- 36:52farm by herself, which turns out is a lot more of a struggle than
- 36:59initially thought she's by herself, and she's like a stream beat like five foot
- 37:04nothing anybitdy little ginger girl, adult woman that's just struggling struggle bus. So,
- 37:09going back to father, Father and Abbatha end up meeting surprise surprise about
- 37:20damn time. If I remember correctly, I think Abatha ends up going back
- 37:28to the cave and comes across either the spirits or Father, and then from
- 37:34there, after scaring the shit out of her, she becomes quite friendly with
- 37:37them, with the spirits as well as the spirits, the wild folk creaking
- 37:44and sky like her beforest does not or it's just like, we should just
- 37:47kill her. You should kill her because they've been watching her the whole time,
- 37:52and they targeted her husband. They wanted to target Wallace, but Wallace
- 37:54wasn't around, and they want to target Abatha. But Father is like,
- 38:00no, she hasn't done anything, she's inn Why would I want to do
- 38:05anything? But so her and Father or as the names story around, slew
- 38:13Foot, become close. From there, she starts learning a little bit about
- 38:21herself as well as or Father. She tries to help him figure out his
- 38:28memories, tries to walk through walk through his head, trying to align the
- 38:35memories and try to help. She tries to help him remember stuff as well
- 38:39as he helps her around the farm and teaches her how to use magic and
- 38:47how to use the energy of the earth with the help of Father to do
- 38:54magic basically, so she has learned that she does. She is known as
- 39:01the magic folk, or as what Forrest called her said she was she Oh,
- 39:07no, she's one of the magic folk. And he doesn't like that.
- 39:15He's like, the only people that should be using magic, it's us,
- 39:17not these people, So he tries to kill her. There's at one
- 39:22point where Forrest ends up trying to kill Abatha with a bunch of these poisonous
- 39:28snakes, and with the healing magic of Father and Abatha herself, she was
- 39:35able to heal herself from the venom of all these poisonous snakes that Forrest sent
- 39:39after her to try and kill her, because she got bit by a good
- 39:46ten twelve snakes like this whole horde of venomous snakes all came in and started
- 39:53biting her relentlessly one night, and she was like screaming, blood curling scre
- 40:00dreams. And then of course Father came by and ran up and with the
- 40:07help of him. Of course, healed herself and that's when she knew,
- 40:08so, shit, I have magic. And then that's where he kind of
- 40:14she kind of drew the connection that her mother and her mother's mother, she's
- 40:16from a long line of women who are magically inclined. So and then Samson,
- 40:29Samson father takes on the name of Samson, the name of the goat,
- 40:31because Abbatha does find out that father and the wild folk killed her goat
- 40:37and her husband. Now she was a little upset about her husband, but
- 40:45she forgave Samson a kay father because like he didn't he didn't know any better.
- 40:53He was starving and he listened to the wild folk so be killed to
- 41:00survive. So she didn't really hold a grudge against that. Do do do
- 41:12While all this is happening, Abbatha does has that been the church for quite
- 41:15some time, I think like six months, because she got permission from the
- 41:21minister to take a leave of absence so she can work on the farm.
- 41:25H everyone find of course, everyone finds out to be fucking weird. And
- 41:32and while this, of course is ontoition and against trying to devise some plan
- 41:37to get the upper hand on his sister in law, to get that goddamn
- 41:45farm because he went about the way of law did not work. He went
- 41:49about the way of trying to bargain with her. Plead did not work.
- 41:52She told him to go piss off, and his last ditch effort, his
- 42:00last ideas, was to destroy her crop. So he got him, his
- 42:07son Isaac, and a couple natives that live in a village the next village
- 42:14over all decided to work together to steal her crop. The data is get
- 42:22to take a chunk of it as well as Wallas takes a chunk of it.
- 42:25And when they come by and she does not have her crop, she
- 42:30could take the farm or he could take the farm. So they go try
- 42:35to rob the place. Abbata comes out with a with a musket, shoots
- 42:39one of them, kills them, and everyone basically runs for it, so
- 42:45they set the barn barn on fire. They she loses the majority of her
- 42:50crop because it burns to the ground and a good portion of it was stolen.
- 42:53But she has the idea on who and who did it, obviously,
- 42:57but she can't prove it because she has no evidence that he was there outside
- 43:01the fact that she did shoot at him and he got grazed by a bullet,
- 43:07so he has an injury from it. But again, unless he shows
- 43:12the injury, it's heard a word against his outside of the dead native that's
- 43:15in her yard. From there, Wallace is just like, well, shit,
- 43:23now I've got nothing else going on. Well, actually, scratch that.
- 43:28He was like, no, she has no crop. I'm good,
- 43:30it's gonna be It's gonna be easy pickens in October, fantastic. What he
- 43:36doesn't know is that Samson is a thing, and with the help of Samson
- 43:42and Abatha, Abata regrows her crops with magic. And I'm just like,
- 43:51ooh. So when the crop does come back around the payment, Wallace comes
- 44:05by and thinking that, oh, I'm gonna get the farm back. It's
- 44:09gonna be great. Blot twist, No it doesn't. She has the crop,
- 44:16and he's like, how the fuck do you have the crop? You
- 44:21should have the crop, and she's like, what do you mean, Wallace?
- 44:23Why would I not have the crop? Gosh? Why would I not?
- 44:28You have something to say, You have something to tell us, all
- 44:30tell the glass. But he's like, I had nothing to say, and
- 44:37well he she wins, kind of she wins, and she I'm trying to
- 44:49remember if this is the part where he beats the show. I think this
- 44:52might be the part because she pays the payment, but she has a smart
- 45:00of course she has a smart amount. So she tells off Wallace, calling
- 45:02him inferior and basically a royal piece of shit. He doesn't liked this,
- 45:07so he goes up and starts beating the shit out of her in front of
- 45:09the higher ups of the village and she gets basically he breaks her leg really
- 45:15bad, and I'm pretty sure yeah, I think that's during the harvest,
- 45:23either the when she makes the payment or not too long after, but either
- 45:28way she gets the ship being out of her by Wallace, and he's not
- 45:34giving up on this. He's only get this farm back one way or another.
- 45:43So now they're going to rent cons mission. Now they're sticking out of
- 45:47the place. They're going to try to find something to hold over Abbatha's head
- 45:52to get that farm back. So Isaac and Wallace stick out the farm and
- 46:00they see uh her making a reef of flowers and hair and they claim,
- 46:12can you can you take a guess on what they claim? O? Wa,
- 46:23wow? You were listening to me to wow wow? Gotcha? No?
- 46:34It's what what what? What was the last thing you heard? Uh?
- 46:39Okay? So they saw her making a wreath out of flowers and hair,
- 46:45yes, and you guess what they claimed, which witchcraft? Yeah,
- 46:52witch craft. It's a witch. So they steal the reef and they steal
- 46:57a few other thing trinkets and stuff, and they get what the townsfolk and
- 47:00everyone starts claiming, which, oh witch, she's a witch, and people
- 47:07that were nice to her turned on her because obviously, because no one wants
- 47:13to be brought down with her. The only woman that stands her ground and
- 47:15saying that she's not a witch is the minister's wife, because at one point
- 47:23the minister's daughter was sick with oh god, I can't remember what was the
- 47:28measles or some shit, it was the measles, and she was sick with
- 47:34the measles, and Abbatha came by to offer her aid with she was technically
- 47:44a cunning woman. She used her magic, but she disguised it as the
- 47:50lords as the lord's prayer to see if she can basically get away with it,
- 47:54and she healed their daughter with magic taken from the earth that she's learned
- 48:02from uh Samson. So she techinitally is a witch technically speaking, but she
- 48:10doesn't see herself in that way, or at least in the context that they're
- 48:15painting her ass because they're painting her as it's monster. But she's like,
- 48:17I've only done good with this. So everyone's coming out of the woodwork.
- 48:23Oh she charmed us. Oh this thing burns like their people are throwing charms
- 48:29and shit that they made that she's made for them, saying that they burn.
- 48:32And the girl that she healed from sickness said that, oh I saw
- 48:40her with goat horns. She's the devil. And her mother is like,
- 48:46no, she's not a witch. So she was on trial with Abitha for
- 48:52assisting a witch. So from there Abatha gets charged and sentenced to death,
- 49:00while the minister's wife is not saying guilty whatsoever. She's sticking to her guns
- 49:09and she's going through a torture method that is how I describe it. She
- 49:16sits down on her I think it's on her knees, and you stick like
- 49:22boulders on your thighs, and it gets heavier and heavier and heavier to your
- 49:27body is crushed underneath it. They try to break her. Basically, she
- 49:30ends up breaking, pleading that she's a witch. Because she doesn't want Abatha
- 49:36begs her just to plead guilty, so all she has to suffer is a
- 49:38year of jail because she doesn't want her daughter to be without a mother,
- 49:44and because Zabatha is like, I'm already gonna die, save yourself, and
- 49:51she breaks and she pleads guilty, so they take her away and it is
- 49:55just Abatha. Now a few people in the town have treated her like like
- 50:00a person, because at this point everyone's treated her like she's a monster,
- 50:04some animal, whether a few people scattered like the sheriff of the town treats
- 50:08her like a human still and thinks all this is fucking insane because they hear
- 50:15about the the witch trials that happen several villages over and how extreme they are
- 50:21and how people just turn on each other. And the minister is basically it
- 50:28was like, oh, well, shit, now that shit's here. So
- 50:30there's a lot of people in town. I think this is insane, just
- 50:35bad shit, insanity, but no one cares. He's still gonna hang her,
- 50:38so they end up hanger not by the neck, though they want her
- 50:44to be hung in a slow, painful death, so they hang her by
- 50:49the ankles. So they attached her up to her ankles and hang her up
- 50:53from a tree, so all the blood rushes down to her head. And
- 50:57it's a slow and painful death. And as they put it, it takes
- 51:00like three to four days for someone to die that way. And I'm like,
- 51:04damn, that's evil. And she has a broken leg and she's already
- 51:10injured up because Wallace beat the shed out of her, and she suffers through
- 51:15this. During all this While this is happening, Samson aka slew Foot is
- 51:23on a journey to find this shaman. He finds this shaman that he keeps
- 51:28having memories of, and turns out that shaman is not a shaman. He's
- 51:32a demon, some spider demon which who has a name that I am not
- 51:37going to try and pronounce because it's a very long, awkward name. Let
- 51:45me see that. I'm gonna look at it. Maybe I can actually say,
- 51:46who knows? Put in the chat? Let me see? Oh got
- 51:52it? Oh nope, not there. Mm hmm you should put it in
- 52:07the book, watches chat. I am a yah. Well when we move
- 52:14that over, then whoopsies, there you go, momamt I'm an actually,
- 52:38let's see, maybe I can actually get somebody to say this ma Moon,
- 52:45not pets, Mama, not pets. Yeah, so it is a an
- 52:52English I guess in English is a word compared to spider. So this shaman
- 52:57is this creature and it's a spider like abomination. And he lives in a
- 53:07hut not too far from from the neighboring village that has the tribe because this
- 53:12creature has been hiding out as a shaman amongst this tribe. So inside his
- 53:16hut where Samsung goes, he sees a bunch of these masks as well as
- 53:22one that is a skull of a stag. So he's like, I don't
- 53:30know what I am or who I am, And the Shaman's like, I
- 53:34got you, I could save you, don't worry about it. So he
- 53:37puts him this sleep. And he also he's been having these memories of these
- 53:44spiders that put him into this deep slumber and trap him constantly as he tries
- 53:50to battle his so he doesn't hear these demons. This demons there like scratching
- 53:57the back of his brain, these voices that tell him to kill, destroy,
- 54:00kill, whatever. And when it gets to the shaman, He's just
- 54:05like, I just want all these voices to stop. Put me to sleep,
- 54:07puts them asleep. He figures out this is not the way. All
- 54:12this is a goddamn lie. All the masks are different wild folks that he's
- 54:15killed and stores their spirits, and these masks on these on this wall,
- 54:21on these bunch of these walls, and the walls are just covered in them.
- 54:25So he and from inside his mask of the skull Stag, he fatters
- 54:31a bunch of these masks, these different walldfolk and spirits. As the spirits
- 54:36are released and free from their containment, and eventually Samson learns about his history.
- 54:46He's not a got man, He's just he's a golden stag. And
- 54:52he's also a figure from Celtic and slash Celtic wickan Lor. He's known as
- 55:02the Great He's the Great horn God. Non yes, yes, yes,
- 55:10they don't actually call him by the name, but they say the Great Horned
- 55:14God, and I'm like, I know who that is, but yeah,
- 55:16it turns out he's the Great Horn God. It's karens or I don't know,
- 55:23okay, so spelling wise, it looks like it says kept no knows,
- 55:28but I'm pretty sure it's pronounced very differently. Hold on, let me
- 55:35see sir Nanos. Yeah, okay, but yeah, he's the great Horned
- 55:52God from that lore. And I'm like, oh, I know what this
- 55:57is. I know the whole god. I like this. This is great.
- 56:02So he gets freed, he kills the spider demon, and he goes
- 56:10back to Abatha, finds out what's happening, and he goes and freeze Abatha
- 56:16from the tree. After he kills, like kills some of the people watching
- 56:22over guarding her while she dies. And then Abatha makes a choice. She's
- 56:30like, she's on the brink of death by this point, she's on the
- 56:35brink of just dying. And she's like, give me your blood. She
- 56:39makes a choice, give me your blood. And he's like, what do
- 56:42you mean. He's like, give me your blood. I want Abatha is
- 56:45dead. Basically, they want a monster. Okay, I'll give them the
- 56:51fucking monster. And Sam say's like, once you do this, she can't
- 56:55go back, and she's like, I don't want to go back. So
- 57:00she so he cuts up in his hand and she drinks his blood and she
- 57:07her legs, her body change, her body changes obviously, and her legs
- 57:13end up turning to these deer like legs. He's fun fauna like legs,
- 57:19and she starts. She feels that she's starting to develop horns coming from her
- 57:22skull. She becomes a witch. She really dives into like the end of
- 57:28the movie The Witch. She's like, you know what, fuck it,
- 57:30y'all think I'm a monster? Okay, I will become that monster. So
- 57:34she does. Then what do she do? She goes on a Kelly rampage.
- 57:38She targets every single person that did her wrong, one by one.
- 57:45And let me tell you, oh, me talking about it is not going
- 57:51to do a justice. Y'all gonna have to read the book. It's so
- 57:52good. She gets revenge on the judge and the people who put her in
- 58:01the tree, who tried to kill her. She gets revenge on several of
- 58:06the townfolk. She kills a She kills a couple of those women and that
- 58:10group of women that hate her because they were the ones that also kind of
- 58:14damned her, so they killed her, a couple of them. They did
- 58:17what she did to Wallace. So good. So Wallace, I will talk
- 58:22about the Wallace one because it's real good. So Wallace is at home his
- 58:28house, having dinner with his daughter and his wife and she they're having a
- 58:34conversation whatever. His daughter of horse was one of the people who said that
- 58:40outside of Isaac, Isaac is the oldest son of the youngest daughter. Also
- 58:47is one of the ones that are like, oh about that was a witch.
- 58:49She cursed me eh, and she is gloating about it. So slew
- 58:57foot Orsen and Amatha walk into the house, bust open the house. And
- 59:05if he goes to the daughter and she puts an L in her forehead.
- 59:10She stinks her nail into her forehead and puts an L. She doesn't kill
- 59:15her. She's like, I'm gonna scar you with this L so everyone knows
- 59:22you're a fucking liar. And she basically scares the shit out of Wallace's wife
- 59:29and his daughter and they run off. That's the last you see of them.
- 59:31They run off into the woods. They run away. They let she
- 59:34lets them leave, but she scars the hell out of the daughter and scares
- 59:37the shit out of her. So the devil will come for you when your
- 59:39time is when you die, best believe it. But I will give you
- 59:45this little L to be a reminder wherever you are, We're two steps behind
- 59:50you. Scare the shit out of her. It's so great. And then
- 59:52she gets to Wallace. She breaks Wallace's Her and Samson break Wallace limbs to
- 1:00:00a bloody pulp and when he thinks it's done, when he's on the floor,
- 1:00:06his arms are mangled and his legs are destroyed. These beetles start coming
- 1:00:10up out of the floor in the wood and start burrowing into his skin,
- 1:00:15eating it from the inside out alive. It's so great. I'm like,
- 1:00:19oh, the sweet revenge. Yeah. Great. And with these magical powers,
- 1:00:25she can also withstand bullets to an extent, like people shot at her
- 1:00:34and she's pretty much fine, but she does know. She learned real quick
- 1:00:37that she has a limit. So they most Jory of the people were held
- 1:00:43up in the church the chapel, and they were fired off. She had
- 1:00:47ton of bullets at Abatha and Samson. She got hit a bunch of times.
- 1:00:53She almost died, but as they tried to heal her, sam start
- 1:01:00gets pissed and runs inside the church and basically just rips everyone in the shreds.
- 1:01:06It's a blood bath. It's great, like the revenge story. I
- 1:01:09love it. I want to make this into a movie. That's why what
- 1:01:13I do. I want to take this book and make into a movie directed
- 1:01:16by me. This is what I want. Oh so good because but she
- 1:01:24almost dies at the end and they end up bringing her back, and basically
- 1:01:30she learns, Okay, I can't fuck around like this. I can live
- 1:01:32a long ass life, but I can't fuck around like this anymore. And
- 1:01:36she's like, I got my revenge and everybody cool, and then she spends
- 1:01:42the rest of her days in the woods. Then we jump to nineteen seventy
- 1:01:50nineteen seventy two, nineteen seventy two, where we join two men in the
- 1:01:54mountains of West Virginia as they come across a redheaded woman on this trail and
- 1:02:00the Appalachians, and they're like, hey, are you are you lost?
- 1:02:07Are you okay? And she's of course, it's Apatha. She's still alive.
- 1:02:12She's friendly, She's like, oh no, that's fine, and she
- 1:02:14takes them back to her house and she ends up introducing them to her friend
- 1:02:22or her friends, the wild Folk and Samson or has he says, the
- 1:02:27devil and the last actually, let me read that for you. So I'm
- 1:02:37assuming they still are feeding on people obviously, but so so after the course,
- 1:02:53the men see the wild folk and everything, and they're like, what
- 1:02:58the what in the hell? And then the woman walked into walked up to
- 1:03:02the men and peered down at them. Oh, I forgot to mention,
- 1:03:06Samson will be joining us soon, and they're like Samson, who's Samson?
- 1:03:13And Abatha? And the last two words of the book is the devil And
- 1:03:21that's the last you hear of Abatha. And in the current well kind of
- 1:03:27current day, that's pretty much the story of slew Foot It bewitchy a be
- 1:03:34witchery tailor be witchery. Sorry, that is the end of the book.
- 1:03:40I had pretty much all the major plot points of it. Thoughts on my
- 1:03:46on the book again, I love this shit as you walk and tell go
- 1:03:57on, I definitely would like to read it. That I have like a
- 1:04:00whole list of books I'm reading right now, so it's going to be a
- 1:04:02long time whenever read it. Well, what you do, I have the
- 1:04:05physical copy of it. Just let me know. Let you borrow it,
- 1:04:10all right, it's a great book. And then I also have brom also
- 1:04:16did a work called The Child Thief, is basically a retaelling of Peter Pant
- 1:04:21but from a horror perspective of it. And I'm like, oh, I
- 1:04:27want to read that. I have a copy of that. So that's all
- 1:04:30my list of things to read. But nonetheless, no, no, I
- 1:04:34love this book. This book is great, the whole revenge plot at the
- 1:04:41very end where she tries to do good for the talent. She tries to
- 1:04:45mind her own goddamn business and do her own thing, but everyone's all up
- 1:04:49in her business telling her how what to do and how to live her life
- 1:04:53and shed and how her brother in law tries to rule the roost and she's
- 1:04:58just not having it. At the very end where she's like, you know
- 1:05:01what, fuck it and they're like Abbatha and she's like, no, Abbatha
- 1:05:05is dead. It's the monster you it's it's the monster. You want it?
- 1:05:10So here I am love that again. If you like the movie The
- 1:05:14Witch from a twenty four by Robert Eggers, this book is for you.
- 1:05:20It's basically a young woman driven to becoming the monster that everyone feared her to
- 1:05:26be and begin with, so everyone's get everyone gets the knuppets at the end.
- 1:05:32So was meaning to say, did we want to start doing a reading
- 1:05:41system? For the books. Uh yeah, so I guess like based on
- 1:05:49the theme of the book, we will do like a kind of like a
- 1:05:55five star system. But like, yeah, so when came since she ended
- 1:06:00up getting cloth and hooves, we could do like a ratings on one to
- 1:06:06five hooves, one to five hooves. Oh gosh, okay, okay,
- 1:06:13But so this will be the first episode of season three. Actually, since
- 1:06:18we'll have the new system, I'm actually gonna pull up the production value a
- 1:06:21little bit on this, put some background music and shit like I'll make that.
- 1:06:27I'm gonna make this, make this sound a little better, a little
- 1:06:30more, and this is the stories and ship. So yeah, this will
- 1:06:34be the first episode of season three. Woo. As far as the rating,
- 1:06:40for me, I would read this book, I mean, I don't
- 1:06:48want to give it a five and a five. I'm gonna give it a
- 1:06:50five and at five five five hooves. Like I love this book. I
- 1:06:57wasn't kidding when I said that I wanted to make a movie based around this
- 1:07:00book. I do. It's so good. Yeah, based on what she
- 1:07:04said, it does sound like it's it's deserving a five out of five.
- 1:07:10Yeah. Uh well, I'm gonna give you it a four out of five,
- 1:07:14just because, like, I haven't read the book yet and from what
- 1:07:16you saw here telling me, it does sound really good, especially like historical
- 1:07:23fiction with like a little dab of horror and fantasy and drama. Yeah,
- 1:07:28this is right up, y'all's ali it's great now again. Huh oh yeah,
- 1:07:36yeah, I agree. So the na's coming weeks again. For the
- 1:07:44next couple of weeks, I'll be doing books. I'll be the one running
- 1:07:47the show for a little bit. I do have a list of books to
- 1:07:53do, so trust some of them are gonna be more fucked than others.
- 1:07:59There's a few I've read that really well, one in particular that's really uh
- 1:08:04it's in the category of extreme horror. So I will so I'm gonna have
- 1:08:13to go ahead and get put a like a veto on that one because I
- 1:08:15think that one was just too Yeah, I'm sorry, I think that,
- 1:08:20like from what you've told me about Womb yeah, womb Yeah, No,
- 1:08:26it isn't too uh too much. That's too much. That's too much.
- 1:08:33It's space like you thought. I thought, like well, before you told
- 1:08:38me about that book, I thought all Bound Hearts, at least at first
- 1:08:41seen in in chapter one was bad, and from what you're telling me,
- 1:08:45this is like the whole book that more or less. Yeah, some parts
- 1:08:50are worse than others, but for the most part, especially towards the end,
- 1:08:54it gets really fucked. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:09:00that's fine. That's fine, that's fine. I left it up to
- 1:09:03you if if you were gonna, if you would let me talk about it
- 1:09:05or not, because I would have I would have done it in a way
- 1:09:08where it would have been as graphic. But no, that's perfectly fine,
- 1:09:15that is perfectly fine. I have other ones I can get into great books.
- 1:09:20Yeah, so they give me a little, a little glimpse of what's
- 1:09:29cooking. I am currently working on the summary as well as other material for
- 1:09:36Neil Gilman's American Gods, So that'll be happening soon. They'll probably be happening,
- 1:09:41not for a couple of weeks, but that's happening. Great book.
- 1:09:45And then What Moves the Dead is another one. Uh, that's the only
- 1:09:54thing I can think of on the top of my head. There are others,
- 1:09:56but yeah, so the next couple of weeks it'll be It'll be me
- 1:09:59until well it's not. Then Jacob will talk about some book he read currently,
- 1:10:06he's like hands deep in the Wheel of Time series. Yeah, I
- 1:10:11have not touched that book in the last week. I got to finish it
- 1:10:14because on four Oh yeah, yeah, I'm on book four out of fourteen.
- 1:10:23Like, yeah, the Wheel of Time is one of the longest book
- 1:10:28series I've ever read, and each book is how much? How many pages
- 1:10:33is in book four The Shadow Rising? Okay, so my Kiddle edition has
- 1:10:41one thousand and thirty two pages. Oh so, and I'm only on chapter
- 1:10:47nine. Damn. So that's fair, that's fair. But yeah, so
- 1:11:00I'll be doing the next couple of weeks and then Jacob. Then we will
- 1:11:03start going back and forth between me and Jacob. That is the goal eventually
- 1:11:10to do. Yeah, so buckle up, we'll get We'll stay in the
- 1:11:17world of ouky spooky is even though well you'll you'll you all will soon learn
- 1:11:28I like books on the uki spooky side of things. It's not gonna be
- 1:11:32much gay love. I mean, there could be some gay love depending on
- 1:11:35which book, ay, but like, for the most part, we're gonna
- 1:11:38get some uky spooky stuff a lot, I will say, I will say,
- 1:11:44after we're done with your uki spooky we can go ahead and review the
- 1:11:48novelization of Gojita and Godzilla Rais Again Raids Again. Yes' Reddit, I just
- 1:11:57got to finish quickly finish up God's Raids Again. I gotta tell you,
- 1:12:00though, Godzilla Raids Again is not my favorite. Oh it really isn't.
- 1:12:09And who I've seen the movie and I'm reading the book and I'm like,
- 1:12:13okay, I've seen It's basically it's the books are basically just an exact telling
- 1:12:20of the movies. Yeah, like there unlike you know, with most movie
- 1:12:26novelizations, there's uh uh like little extra details that they put in there,
- 1:12:31but these two but these two books are just exact retelling of how it happens
- 1:12:35in the movies. Yeah, so I was I started reading. I already
- 1:12:42finished Godzilla. Now I just gotta read finish reading Raids Again. And I'm
- 1:12:46like, hm hmm, yeah, that's this was this is definitely probably this
- 1:12:55was probably the weakest Godzilla. And that's saying a lot, because there's like
- 1:13:00Godzilla has had some terrible movies. Matthew Brodericks American first American and then uh
- 1:13:10like the there was a few there was there was a few books. I'm
- 1:13:13sorry a few movies that came out in the seventies that kind of killed the
- 1:13:17show era, like Godsill versus Megalon and uh because I was about to say,
- 1:13:28had gods Oliver versus Heater but he that one was actually really good.
- 1:13:32Yeah, but anyway, Uh so that is pretty much it for this episode.
- 1:13:42Yes, catch us next time as I take down a road of ooky
- 1:13:46spooky them. Which book are you doing next week? Which book? Uh?
- 1:13:53The let me get the author's name before I say it. Uh,
- 1:13:59The Thing between Us by Gus more in No more O. Awesome. So
- 1:14:09guys, catch us, then catch us next time, but until then,
- 1:14:14bye bye,
