Latest / Predictable with Stu Burguiere / The Midterm Debates Get HEATED
Transcript
- 0:00Couple of big debates last night got heated.
- 0:02We will break,
- 0:03uh,
- 0:03break down the play by play of everything
- 0:04that happened in Michigan and Kansas and more.
- 0:07We have Dan Andros here to draft an NBA over-under wins,
- 0:10losses
- 0:11type of thing.
- 0:11We're gonna do that and maybe,
- 0:12I don't know,
- 0:13maybe we'll have a little time
- 0:15to talk some smack on LeBron.
- 0:16I mean,
- 0:16I,
- 0:17if I can handle it,
- 0:18if I can manage the time.
- 0:19It's all coming up and so much more on Predictable
- 0:22with Stu.
- 0:37We have so much stuff for you here at Predictable.
- 0:39Predictable 101.com if you're just getting started on prediction markets.
- 0:42The Senate Fantasy League we have is Senatefantasy.com.
- 0:46Go there,
- 0:47it's free.
- 0:48You can win up to like $2500 I think is the top prize.
- 0:51So,
- 0:52uh,
- 0:52just to,
- 0:53just to do the math for you on that,
- 0:53$0 cost,
- 0:55potential $2500 gain.
- 0:57Seems like a good bargain.
- 0:59Go there,
- 0:59get involved.
- 1:00All you have to do is pick some Senate races.
- 1:01It's fun
- 1:02and it's up there now.
- 1:03Senate Fantasy.com.
- 1:05OK,
- 1:05um,
- 1:06a couple of quick things I wanna hit here as we get into our topic tonight.
- 1:09Number one,
- 1:09it appears,
- 1:11the Washington Post is,
- 1:12is reporting or alluding to,
- 1:13it appears there's another fake pollster,
- 1:16uh,
- 1:16out there.
- 1:17This 1 may SoCal strategies.
- 1:19There's been suspicions about them in the past.
- 1:21They seem to have shut down their website,
- 1:23shut down all their social media.
- 1:25That is at least the accusation coming,
- 1:27uh,
- 1:27from,
- 1:28uh,
- 1:28the Washington Post.
- 1:29So,
- 1:29another thing to keep an eye on.
- 1:31We do have pollsters that
- 1:33are not.
- 1:33Fake as well.
- 1:34Coming out with new polls.
- 1:35Fox News has a new poll out about Texas.
- 1:37James Tallarico and
- 1:39Ken Paxton,
- 1:40what's the score right now in this particular race?
- 1:43It was 51-49
- 1:45Tallarico in September.
- 1:47New update,
- 1:4849 to 49.
- 1:50So,
- 1:50a couple of percentage points moving back toward,
- 1:53uh,
- 1:53the undecided column,
- 1:55a tied race
- 1:56at the top of that ticket.
- 1:58I guess if you look at the,
- 1:59if you look at it that way,
- 1:59and that's the highest profile race probably.
- 2:02The other one I,
- 2:02which I still can maintain,
- 2:04I don't understand at all,
- 2:05uh.
- 2:05Is this race at Governor Abbott versus Hinojosa.
- 2:09Greg Abbott,
- 2:09uh,
- 2:10looking for his 4th term as governor.
- 2:12He's up by 5,
- 2:12however,
- 2:13in this poll.
- 2:14This is one of his better results.
- 2:15He's been up by,
- 2:16um,
- 2:16you know,
- 2:17typically about 2 or 3 points.
- 2:19He's up by 5 in this poll.
- 2:22Very strange thing happened on the prediction markets about that.
- 2:24I'll,
- 2:24I'll give you that update here in just a second.
- 2:26Uh,
- 2:26and then,
- 2:27uh,
- 2:27this is another interesting part of this poll.
- 2:29You're gonna,
- 2:29you're gonna split your ticket.
- 2:31What,
- 2:31what does that look like?
- 2:32You know,
- 2:32we talk about people who are Republicans,
- 2:34maybe don't like Ken Paxton,
- 2:35won't vote for him.
- 2:36This is,
- 2:37you know,
- 2:37it's a small percentage of the population.
- 2:38This is what it looks like.
- 2:39If you are a Tallarico supporter,
- 2:41um,
- 2:4293% of people are going to vote for Hinojosa and only 7% for Abbott.
- 2:47If you are a Paxton supporter,
- 2:48it's the opposite.
- 2:49It's 97%.
- 2:50And only 3%
- 2:52for Hinojosa.
- 2:53So again,
- 2:53when we're talking about these ticket splitters,
- 2:55and this is one of the reasons I'm a
- 2:56little nervous about my portfolio in certain states because
- 2:59I'm depending on some of these ticket splitters.
- 3:02I'm depending on people,
- 3:03uh,
- 3:04who,
- 3:04uh,
- 3:04might be on Tallarico's side but then vote for Abbott as well
- 3:08in that race.
- 3:08So we will see where that goes.
- 3:09And Abbott,
- 3:10by the way,
- 3:11dropped
- 3:12from 74%.
- 3:13To 64%
- 3:15within the past 24 to 36 hours.
- 3:17Why?
- 3:17I don't know.
- 3:18I frankly don't know.
- 3:20Uh,
- 3:20there is,
- 3:20there's one poll from a poll,
- 3:22small pollster that has it like a 1 point margin.
- 3:25Um,
- 3:25I don't know why.
- 3:26This is what the markets look like right now.
- 3:27Look at this drop,
- 3:29uh,
- 3:29for this is Texas Senate,
- 3:30by the way.
- 3:30Um,
- 3:31you've seen a long,
- 3:32uh,
- 3:32drop for,
- 3:33uh,
- 3:33Paxson.
- 3:34Uh,
- 3:34he had a little bit of a bump there
- 3:36when James Tallarico went on his weird flu vacation.
- 3:39Uh,
- 3:39but,
- 3:39uh,
- 3:39we're back now to 33%.
- 3:41I do think Paxson's probably undervalued at 33%.
- 3:44I,
- 3:44I don't,
- 3:45there's not that much,
- 3:46I mean,
- 3:47even the projection you see at the top of the screen here with,
- 3:49uh,
- 3:49on the Calci page
- 3:50is only a 2.4% margin
- 3:53forecast.
- 3:53Every poll has a,
- 3:55uh,
- 3:55a polling error,
- 3:56uh,
- 3:56you know,
- 3:56built into it,
- 3:57a margin of error.
- 3:59It could go either way,
- 4:00even by the numbers that we have,
- 4:02let alone the fact that this is a red state and so many other things point toward
- 4:05a possible,
- 4:06uh,
- 4:06Paxton win.
- 4:07I,
- 4:07I,
- 4:08do I think he's over 50% in real value?
- 4:10Probably not.
- 4:11Uh,
- 4:11but is he 33%?
- 4:13That,
- 4:14that's very,
- 4:14very low.
- 4:15Um,
- 4:16VoteHub has a new survey out as well.
- 4:18This goes over,
- 4:19um,
- 4:19Ohio.
- 4:20They they have,
- 4:21uh,
- 4:21Ramas Amy Acton at 46%,
- 4:24Ramaswamy at 45%.
- 4:25This is going to predate most of this,
- 4:27uh,
- 4:27latest controversy about the,
- 4:29the ad that we,
- 4:30we've showed you.
- 4:31Uh,
- 4:31Sherrod Brown,
- 4:32uh,
- 4:32leading Houston 47 to 44,
- 4:35very close race,
- 4:36I believe is the Texas one in here as well.
- 4:38They had a Texas,
- 4:40uh,
- 4:40poll as well,
- 4:41I believe that they put out,
- 4:41I think it was them,
- 4:42or maybe it was Emerson.
- 4:43Uh,
- 4:44where they had Abbott up again by 5 points.
- 4:46So I think
- 4:47with Abbott,
- 4:47in the Abbott situation,
- 4:48he's had 3 polls that have come out in the last 24 hours that he's been up by 45,
- 4:52and 5.
- 4:53And then I think a small pollster maybe had him up 1.
- 4:56And the result of that,
- 4:574 polls in a very short period of time is he drops by 10 points.
- 5:01Uh,
- 5:01I don't know what that means.
- 5:03Usually means something though.
- 5:04Uh,
- 5:04Ohio Senate looks like this
- 5:06right now,
- 5:07uh,
- 5:07Sherrod Brown at 69% to win.
- 5:10This is obviously over the past few weeks has really split.
- 5:13It was a 50/50 race not that long ago.
- 5:15Uh,
- 5:16for the governor's race,
- 5:17uh,
- 5:17you'll see a little bit of movement here.
- 5:19This is the one where we're talking about Vivek Ramaswamy and Amy Acton.
- 5:22Acton,
- 5:22the former COVID,
- 5:24uh,
- 5:24uh,
- 5:24lady,
- 5:25uh,
- 5:25for Ohio.
- 5:27Because of this ad,
- 5:28it's an 80/20 race.
- 5:29Again,
- 5:30there's not much in the polling that would
- 5:33describe Ramaswamy as a 20%
- 5:35underdog.
- 5:36Uh,
- 5:36now,
- 5:37I don't know.
- 5:37Again,
- 5:37I think he's probably the underdog in this race,
- 5:39slightly.
- 5:40But 20%
- 5:42seems incredibly low.
- 5:43Uh,
- 5:43and I,
- 5:44I,
- 5:44I think the media and everyone on these markets
- 5:47might be overreacting to this ad that is,
- 5:49I guess,
- 5:49controversial,
- 5:50and it is controversial,
- 5:52um,
- 5:52but still,
- 5:53it's,
- 5:53it's
- 5:54an interesting split there.
- 5:55OK,
- 5:55let me show you some of these clips from the
- 5:57debate last night because Michigan is at play as well.
- 5:59El Syed going against Rogers.
- 6:02Rogers saying,
- 6:02hey,
- 6:03look,
- 6:03it seems there's a lot of evidence that your
- 6:05family has been associated with the Muslim Brotherhood.
- 6:08Is that true?
- 6:09Here's the answer.
- 6:10I've never been a part of
- 6:13because my mom who's a nurse in Missouri,
- 6:15it doesn't make any sense and it's actually really quite beneath you,
- 6:18Mike it's really quite beneath you
- 6:20to call into question my loyalty to the Constitution.
- 6:22I'm talking I'm talking
- 6:24I'm talking,
- 6:25own up to it.
- 6:26Excuse me,
- 6:27yep,
- 6:27go ahead.
- 6:28Can I have a few more seconds?
- 6:29Yes,
- 6:29go,
- 6:29go ahead.
- 6:30Thank you.
- 6:31To bring into question,
- 6:32my
- 6:33commitment to the Constitution is really beneath you.
- 6:37I mean,
- 6:37look,
- 6:38I,
- 6:38I don't think it is,
- 6:39uh,
- 6:39frankly.
- 6:40Certainly the stuff they're saying against each other,
- 6:42I don't think that's out of line,
- 6:43but the other part of it is,
- 6:43uh,
- 6:44you know,
- 6:44your sister actually said,
- 6:46like she said she was involved in the,
- 6:48she was praising her mom for being in the Muslim
- 6:50Brotherhood and her activism to support the Muslim Brotherhood.
- 6:52Now you might say that that's fine.
- 6:54You might think the Muslim Brotherhood,
- 6:55hey,
- 6:56it's like the city of brotherly love.
- 6:58Maybe that's what you think the Muslim Brotherhood is.
- 7:00But the fact is there is a ton of evidence that he,
- 7:04that his family,
- 7:05not necessarily even him,
- 7:06but his family
- 7:07was involved in this.
- 7:08There's other stuff that's questionable on his own side,
- 7:11but that's where they're going.
- 7:12Now,
- 7:12um,
- 7:13when you go to,
- 7:14uh,
- 7:14Roger's kind of his pushing on this particular issue,
- 7:17he's trying to get,
- 7:18uh,
- 7:19he's trying to build a case here against,
- 7:21um,
- 7:22El Sayed being honest.
- 7:23It does seem like he has a problem.
- 7:25Uh,
- 7:25he's a smooth talker,
- 7:26and he has a problem kind of sticking near the truth.
- 7:29Here's what Rogers said.
- 7:30Ask Somebody,
- 7:31a new investigator about how you figure out if somebody's honest and willing,
- 7:35willing to tell you the truth.
- 7:36You go through a series of questions.
- 7:38Did you lie on your resume?
- 7:39Yep,
- 7:39did.
- 7:40He lied about being a physician.
- 7:42Did he lie about his relationships with an organization
- 7:45that should give us all pause?
- 7:46Yep,
- 7:47he did.
- 7:47He lied about being an Egyptian dual citizen.
- 7:50He lied about some of his stances on these positions as he's flipped again.
- 7:56This is a pattern
- 7:57that we need to understand
- 7:59for this to to trust this candidate.
- 8:02Now,
- 8:02uh,
- 8:02Elsa had mainly tried to just skirt those issues and
- 8:05not really respond to them directly other than to say,
- 8:07oh well,
- 8:08my mom's a nurse.
- 8:09It doesn't have to do with anything?
- 8:10I don't know.
- 8:11But,
- 8:11uh,
- 8:12he did have points on his own behalf too.
- 8:13He tried to,
- 8:14uh,
- 8:15point to his,
- 8:16uh,
- 8:17policy profile.
- 8:18Uh,
- 8:18here is,
- 8:19uh,
- 8:20I'll give you a couple of examples of what he wants to bring to the state of Michigan.
- 8:24Here he is talking about,
- 8:25uh,
- 8:25immigration.
- 8:27I believe that we don't need ICE.
- 8:28In fact,
- 8:29we can go back to INS back when we were a
- 8:31lot more safe and secure when it came to immigration,
- 8:33and then we need to make sure we have a clear pathway to citizenship
- 8:36so that people can come here and take opportunities that are legal for them.
- 8:41I,
- 8:41I,
- 8:42now,
- 8:42I,
- 8:42look,
- 8:43I don't know,
- 8:44um,
- 8:45what he means when he says we're more safe and secure previously,
- 8:48like we're our border crossings are at near an all-time low.
- 8:51Um,
- 8:51so I,
- 8:52I don't know,
- 8:53you know,
- 8:53I'm not exactly sure what he's referring to there.
- 8:55Maybe he's referring to the,
- 8:56the,
- 8:57the,
- 8:57you know,
- 8:58the,
- 8:58like his idea is maybe the,
- 9:00the protesters and,
- 9:01and they've had incidents with ICE,
- 9:03it could be that.
- 9:04Uh,
- 9:04he also,
- 9:05uh,
- 9:05was asked directly whether he wanted to expand the Supreme Court.
- 9:08Now,
- 9:08to put this one in perspective,
- 9:09getting rid of ICE
- 9:11is
- 9:11a very big left wing position.
- 9:12It was a left wing position popularized in the George Floyd era,
- 9:16that that 2020 kind of woke 1.0 thing.
- 9:19Uh,
- 9:19they,
- 9:20the Democrats ran away from that realizing it was a catastrophe.
- 9:22It was a catastrophe for them in 2024.
- 9:25Uh,
- 9:26they're,
- 9:26they're,
- 9:26a lot of them are running back to it now,
- 9:28um,
- 9:29and you wonder if a state like Michigan is,
- 9:32thinks that's a good idea,
- 9:33right?
- 9:34Um,
- 9:34we'll see,
- 9:35we will see on that one.
- 9:37Expanding the Supreme Court though never even rose
- 9:39to the popularity of getting rid of ICE,
- 9:41or,
- 9:41you know,
- 9:42uh,
- 9:42uh,
- 9:42or defunding the police.
- 9:43This is one that was kind of always left out on the fringes.
- 9:46Like people realize,
- 9:47OK,
- 9:47we've got a certain number of Supreme Court justices,
- 9:49we're gonna kind of stick,
- 9:51stick with that.
- 9:51We think that's a good way to go.
- 9:53Uh,
- 9:54there's this left-wing push of saying,
- 9:55hey,
- 9:56well,
- 9:56what if we have 100 Supreme Court justices that we can put ourselves in control.
- 10:00He was asked directly about this,
- 10:01uh,
- 10:02in,
- 10:02uh,
- 10:03in,
- 10:03in the debate,
- 10:04and here,
- 10:04here was his answer.
- 10:05Doctor El Sayed,
- 10:06same question to you.
- 10:07Are you in favor of expanding the US Supreme Court?
- 10:09Yes or no?
- 10:10Yes,
- 10:10but fairly.
- 10:16Kind of kind of a long-standing system as to how this is done fairly.
- 10:19Now,
- 10:20the left doesn't like that they're not on the
- 10:21right side of that arrangement at the moment.
- 10:24Um,
- 10:24but
- 10:25just saying like,
- 10:26hey,
- 10:26we're gonna add a bunch of new Supreme Court justices because
- 10:28we don't like the results of the current system is,
- 10:30is not,
- 10:31you can't do that fairly.
- 10:32That's not a thing.
- 10:33Not,
- 10:33not a thing.
- 10:34Anyway,
- 10:34uh,
- 10:34this is what the Michigan Senate looks like.
- 10:36I,
- 10:36I don't know if there was a massive,
- 10:37I think it was actually probably a nicer debate than the first one,
- 10:40which is hard,
- 10:40hard to believe,
- 10:41but,
- 10:42uh,
- 10:42El Sayed is the favorite there.
- 10:4469%,
- 10:45Mike Rogers again at 31%.
- 10:47Look,
- 10:48there is a
- 10:48good amount of money to be made if you can pick the right upsets right now.
- 10:53There because
- 10:53what we're getting is I talked about this yesterday a little bit in detail,
- 10:55but
- 10:56a lot of money is flowing into these elections right now and a lot
- 10:59of it's going to the favorites and pushing those favorites to the extremes.
- 11:02Uh,
- 11:02look,
- 11:03Ken Paxton might be the underdog in that race.
- 11:04Is he a 33% underdog?
- 11:06I don't think so.
- 11:07I don't think so.
- 11:08Um,
- 11:08and so we're seeing a lot of that happening right now.
- 11:10If you can kind of,
- 11:11if you can target the right one,
- 11:12if you,
- 11:13if you think it's Rodgers,
- 11:13if you think it's,
- 11:14uh,
- 11:14if you think it's Paxton.
- 11:16Um,
- 11:16if you think it's Tafoya,
- 11:17whoever you might think it is,
- 11:19if you can get in that race,
- 11:20you could have some big,
- 11:21big wins.
- 11:21And you only have to hit 1 out of every 31 of every 41 out of every 5 of those,
- 11:25uh,
- 11:25for it to pay off.
- 11:26So,
- 11:27some definite opportunities there.
- 11:28Uh,
- 11:28I want to go over to Kansas.
- 11:29We haven't covered this one as closely.
- 11:30This is,
- 11:31uh,
- 11:31Hamilton
- 11:33talking
- 11:33about an accusation
- 11:35against him.
- 11:35He's a mega church pastor in Kansas,
- 11:38and here is,
- 11:39uh,
- 11:39his response to a very difficult question.
- 11:42Your turn,
- 11:42Mr.
- 11:42Hamilton,
- 11:43to address one of the attack ads that's leveled at you.
- 11:46Parents entrusted your church
- 11:49to take care of their children.
- 11:51In 2005,
- 11:522 boys reported
- 11:54inappropriate touching at your church camp.
- 11:56Now you said the church investigated internally,
- 11:59but the findings were inconclusive
- 12:01and authorities were not contacted.
- 12:04You recently told CNN this.
- 12:06Would you have done anything differently in that situation?
- 12:08Absolutely.
- 12:08Like we should have called the police immediately,
- 12:10but that was not our policies 21 years ago.
- 12:13Yet that same volunteer was allowed to return as a camp leader the following year.
- 12:18More allegations surfaced against him.
- 12:21This time,
- 12:21of course,
- 12:21the church did
- 12:23contact the authorities.
- 12:24So my question for you is,
- 12:26obviously it's your responsibility to take care of these kids.
- 12:29Why not override that policy
- 12:31back in 2005
- 12:33when you had to know that police
- 12:35or law enforcement are better at investigating these kinds of things than staff?
- 12:39You have 60 seconds.
- 12:40That's a great question.
- 12:41And the reality is that we did change our policy after that,
- 12:43so.
- 12:44This was very important.
- 12:45We,
- 12:46uh,
- 12:46we made sure that the police found out,
- 12:48uh,
- 12:48later.
- 12:48When they did,
- 12:49they investigated,
- 12:49they found the same thing.
- 12:50It was inconclusive.
- 12:51There was uncertainty,
- 12:53and as a result of that,
- 12:54they refused to press charges as well.
- 12:56Um,
- 12:57I will tell you that ultimately,
- 12:58we helped get this man put behind bars,
- 13:00and the policies that we developed are used by 10,000 churches across America.
- 13:04Yeah,
- 13:04we're gonna be doing an NBA draft coming up.
- 13:06You gotta grind tape,
- 13:07right?
- 13:07When you're doing the NBA draft,
- 13:08uh,
- 13:08when you,
- 13:09to know your ball.
- 13:10Uh,
- 13:10that's kind of what we do with these,
- 13:12uh,
- 13:12debates.
- 13:12Uh,
- 13:12I'd like to watch them so I can see what you get from these candidates.
- 13:15What you get from the Hamilton side of this,
- 13:17uh,
- 13:17he's a mega church pastor.
- 13:19He's obviously a good communicator,
- 13:20and he's,
- 13:20he's pretty smooth.
- 13:21He's laid back.
- 13:22He has a decent delivery.
- 13:24Um,
- 13:24uh,
- 13:25he is,
- 13:25uh,
- 13:26and,
- 13:26while Marshall,
- 13:27the current senator from Kansas,
- 13:29you know,
- 13:29looked a little nervous at times,
- 13:31uh,
- 13:31with some of the questioning.
- 13:32I,
- 13:32I don't know that,
- 13:33I mean,
- 13:33there's times where you can tell Hamilton really just doesn't understand
- 13:37a lot of issues in a,
- 13:38in a sort of Darlene Graham Nordone situation.
- 13:40He doesn't really understand the issues he's gonna be dealing with in the Senate.
- 13:44I don't know how Kansas deals with that.
- 13:45I mean,
- 13:45Kansas is a very red state.
- 13:47They are definitely flirting with this guy.
- 13:49Um,
- 13:49and here's,
- 13:50by the way,
- 13:50is the odds on this right now.
- 13:52Hamilton has actually caught up to now to 61-39 underdog,
- 13:57uh,
- 13:5739% chance for Hamilton,
- 13:58the Democrats,
- 13:5961% chance for Roger Marshall's and Marshall,
- 14:02and again,
- 14:02this,
- 14:02this could be the Senate at stake.
- 14:04So that is where it is.
- 14:05And that's,
- 14:05by the way,
- 14:06I think a correct approach,
- 14:08uh,
- 14:08that,
- 14:08that Marshall took,
- 14:10oftentimes redirecting whatever question he could
- 14:12back to,
- 14:13by the way,
- 14:13did you know Chuck Schumer is gonna be in control?
- 14:16That is exactly the right.
- 14:17If you're Paxton,
- 14:18you should be doing that constantly.
- 14:19If you're Marshall,
- 14:20you should be doing that.
- 14:21Probably if you're Ricketts,
- 14:21you should be doing that in Nebraska.
- 14:23There's a bunch of different places
- 14:25that should be the focus.
- 14:26Not even about your candidacy,
- 14:27not about what you're gonna do,
- 14:28not about what the other guy's gonna do,
- 14:29just the fact that control is at stake.
- 14:32And you want the Democrats running,
- 14:34uh,
- 14:34the Senate.
- 14:35A lot of people in these states do not.
- 14:37So that's where we are.
- 14:38The other thing is they did a serious investigation.
- 14:40On Hamilton,
- 14:41and this is going to,
- 14:43this is gonna shock you.
- 14:44Uh,
- 14:45I've discovered who he really is,
- 14:46his true identity.
- 14:47This is,
- 14:48this is it.
- 14:49He's Kent
- 14:50from Real Genius.
- 14:51He's a grown-up version of Kent
- 14:53from Real Genius.
- 14:54I understand that there's only 3 people
- 14:56in the audience who understand this reference.
- 14:57I don't care.
- 14:58I watched the movie 5000 times when I was a kid.
- 15:01His mannerisms are exactly it.
- 15:03It's,
- 15:03he's the villain in the movie.
- 15:05He's grown up to be a mega church pastor in Kansas.
- 15:08That's the truth.
- 15:10I
- 15:12Gotta take a break.
- 15:13We'll come back with Dan Andrews.
- 15:15So it's such,
- 15:15why do you watch this show?
- 15:16I question your judgment here,
- 15:18by the way.
- 15:19That's,
- 15:19this is really your fault.
- 15:21Um,
- 15:21thank you so much for joining us.
- 15:22And we're gonna go to,
- 15:22uh,
- 15:23some,
- 15:23uh,
- 15:23uh,
- 15:24we got the NBA starting this week.
- 15:25I thought it'd be a fun thing to get,
- 15:26uh,
- 15:27get started with a little NBA,
- 15:28uh,
- 15:28season overlook.
- 15:29We're gonna do a draft and we're gonna look at LeBron
- 15:32and his actions at the national anthem last night.
- 15:34You gotta see those if you haven't already.
- 15:36Uh,
- 15:36we're back in a second.
- 15:53We're joined now by Dan Andros,
- 15:55friend of the program and friend of mine
- 15:56going back for approximately 116 years to our
- 16:00childhood where we would talk about NBA the same way we're about to right now.
- 16:04Uh,
- 16:05we have not,
- 16:06we have not evolved at all,
- 16:07Dan.
- 16:08Nope,
- 16:09not even zero evolution happening here.
- 16:11Yeah.
- 16:12Um,
- 16:12I wanted,
- 16:13before I,
- 16:13we're gonna do our,
- 16:14uh,
- 16:14NBA over unders draft.
- 16:15The NBA started this year
- 16:17or this,
- 16:17uh,
- 16:17week,
- 16:18uh,
- 16:18for the season.
- 16:19And we're gonna talk about that here in,
- 16:20in just a second.
- 16:21Before we do though,
- 16:22I have to ask you about this LeBron James cliff.
- 16:25Now,
- 16:25look,
- 16:26I,
- 16:26I'm not a LeBron James fan.
- 16:28I don't like anything that he does.
- 16:30I,
- 16:30uh,
- 16:31part of my interest in the NBA is just hoping that he loses.
- 16:34So that's,
- 16:34I have to admit from the beginning,
- 16:36I'm,
- 16:36I'm no fan,
- 16:37but
- 16:37I gotta say.
- 16:40Am I wrong on this,
- 16:41this clip,
- 16:41Dan?
- 16:42Uh,
- 16:42this is from,
- 16:42uh,
- 16:43let's see,
- 16:43what,
- 16:44uh,
- 16:44Fox News writes,
- 16:45LeBron James accused of working on his golf swing during the national anthem.
- 16:49Now,
- 16:49I want to show you the clip.
- 16:50I,
- 16:51I,
- 16:51you know,
- 16:51our,
- 16:51our friends over at Fox News are wonderful people,
- 16:53but maybe a little bit hesitant on that.
- 16:55I,
- 16:56I think he's working on something at least.
- 16:57There's no,
- 16:58there's no accusation here.
- 16:59We have the video.
- 17:00Let me show it to you,
- 17:01to,
- 17:01to you,
- 17:01and I want to get your reaction,
- 17:02Dan.
- 17:11He's swinging his arms like a golf swing with open arms,
- 17:14then he's doing
- 17:16his free throws.
- 17:21Warming up his free throw motion during the national anthem.
- 17:25Now you can see every other player on the
- 17:27Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers doing what you're supposed to do there,
- 17:31Dan,
- 17:31right?
- 17:31Like you're supposed to sit,
- 17:32stand there and fake reverence.
- 17:35It's a tough assignment,
- 17:36it really is,
- 17:37uh,
- 17:37to just stand there for a minute
- 17:40or so
- 17:41while someone sings the national anthem.
- 17:43Everyone else can do it.
- 17:45It's not difficult.
- 17:46um,
- 17:47I don't understand.
- 17:48I've also never seen Stu,
- 17:50as you know,
- 17:50I played,
- 17:51uh,
- 17:51basketball for several years
- 17:54in school and in college.
- 17:56I don't recall ever
- 17:57seeing
- 17:58anyone
- 17:59practice a shooting motion
- 18:01during the national anthem,
- 18:03or even at all during any warm-ups at all.
- 18:05You shoot with the ball or you don't shoot,
- 18:07like.
- 18:09It,
- 18:09I've never seen anyone do that,
- 18:10let alone a guy who's been in the league for 100 years.
- 18:14It's not a useful warm-up method.
- 18:17I don't know what in the world he was doing.
- 18:19It was idiotic.
- 18:20I don't know either.
- 18:21And I,
- 18:21I,
- 18:21I can say if,
- 18:22you know,
- 18:23look,
- 18:23he's,
- 18:24he's getting older,
- 18:24maybe he needs to loosen up a little bit more.
- 18:26OK,
- 18:26you want to practice your shooting motion,
- 18:28that's fine.
- 18:29You just need to skip the 90 seconds
- 18:31when the national anthem is going up.
- 18:33That's really basically the only requirement.
- 18:36Um,
- 18:36but of course,
- 18:37he couldn't bring himself to do that.
- 18:39And then he does seem,
- 18:41the golf swing thing,
- 18:42I guess,
- 18:42is fairly called an accusation cause he is kind
- 18:45of just twisting and his arms are out there,
- 18:47but it does look like that's what he's doing.
- 18:48It looks like he's practicing a golf swing.
- 18:51Yeah,
- 18:51I mean,
- 18:51stretching,
- 18:52golf singing,
- 18:53whatever he's doing,
- 18:53like you're right,
- 18:54100% right.
- 18:55You have just the one job during the national anthem.
- 18:58Stand there,
- 19:00just stand
- 19:01there like everyone else,
- 19:03suck it up,
- 19:04you make 100 gazillion dollars a year.
- 19:07Would it pain you?
- 19:08This is what the argument I'm seeing.
- 19:10People are like,
- 19:11the guy.
- 19:13Came from,
- 19:13you know,
- 19:14a single mom
- 19:15background,
- 19:16you know,
- 19:16his,
- 19:16his mom was a single mom.
- 19:18He
- 19:19rises not only to be a successful NBA player,
- 19:22but
- 19:23financially.
- 19:23I think he's like the first billionaire while playing.
- 19:26You think the guy would just have a moment
- 19:29when the national anthem is playing to be like,
- 19:32Man,
- 19:32thank you for this country.
- 19:35Nope,
- 19:36no,
- 19:36can't be bothered to do it.
- 19:37Not even a moment.
- 19:38In fact,
- 19:39he does the opposite,
- 19:40and praises places like China.
- 19:42Uh,
- 19:42and,
- 19:43and here,
- 19:44uh,
- 19:44he's,
- 19:45I mean,
- 19:45it's all the,
- 19:46it's all the more reason to just,
- 19:47uh,
- 19:48not root for the Sixers this year,
- 19:49Stu.
- 19:50And look,
- 19:50you know,
- 19:50as you know,
- 19:51I'm a big Philadelphia Eagles fan.
- 19:52A lot of people believe that makes me a Philadelphia sports fan,
- 19:55which it does not.
- 19:56I don't,
- 19:56I don't necessarily have anything against
- 19:58the Sixers or the Phillies
- 20:00normally in a normal year,
- 20:02though this year they have LeBron James on the team,
- 20:05so I do have something against them.
- 20:07Right.
- 20:07No,
- 20:07and we grew up in Connecticut too,
- 20:09which is,
- 20:09I mean,
- 20:10some other people around the country might be in one of those random
- 20:13like sports islands where there's no actual professional team there in the sport,
- 20:18like in the particular sport you care about.
- 20:20And so you gotta adopt a team a little bit from somewhere else.
- 20:22So that's kind of what I think both you and I did.
- 20:24We sort of.
- 20:26Adopted teams from random parts of the country.
- 20:28I,
- 20:28I guess that's what happened.
- 20:29I,
- 20:29I really still don't know what happened,
- 20:31honestly with,
- 20:31with some of my stuff,
- 20:32but
- 20:33whatever.
- 20:33It's not easily explained,
- 20:35nor is it easily explained to practice your golf swing during the national anthem.
- 20:38Um,
- 20:39Dan,
- 20:39one more thing on,
- 20:40on this before we get into the,
- 20:41the draft.
- 20:43It's difficult to explain why LeBron James
- 20:45is doing that during the national anthem.
- 20:47It might be more inexplicable,
- 20:49however,
- 20:49to see how the WNBA
- 20:52is treating the national anthem and,
- 20:54and just generally,
- 20:55it's newfound shot at success,
- 20:57right?
- 20:57Like this has been a league that's been a financial disaster
- 21:00for
- 21:01every moment it's been around until last year.
- 21:05Um,
- 21:06and they are doing a disaster,
- 21:07by the way,
- 21:08but it's just better.
- 21:09It's getting a little better disaster.
- 21:10At least some people are watching games when,
- 21:13look,
- 21:13let's be honest,
- 21:14one particular player plays,
- 21:15which is Caitlin Clark.
- 21:16Outside of that,
- 21:17you know,
- 21:18everything's up a little bit.
- 21:19She's brought a lot of people.
- 21:20It's,
- 21:20she,
- 21:20you know,
- 21:21the rising tide is lifting
- 21:22all boats,
- 21:23but
- 21:24Uh,
- 21:24you know,
- 21:24look,
- 21:24they have a chance to be part of the landscape,
- 21:27like actually be something that people care about,
- 21:29and this is what they're doing with it.
- 21:31Uh,
- 21:31JD Vance is,
- 21:31uh,
- 21:32just condemning the disgraceful WNBA national anthem walkouts,
- 21:37uh,
- 21:37saying players should show more gratitude.
- 21:39This shouldn't be a political issue though.
- 21:40I mean,
- 21:41JD Vance is obviously a Republican,
- 21:42shouldn't matter.
- 21:43It should be an easy one.
- 21:44What are you walking out for?
- 21:46What,
- 21:46what?
- 21:47What is going on that you're walking out for?
- 21:49Like,
- 21:49like you said.
- 21:50Finally,
- 21:51after decades of this league
- 21:53toiling in obscurity,
- 21:56they finally get some attention,
- 21:57and what do these morons do?
- 22:00One,
- 22:01they,
- 22:01the one player who is drawing all the attention,
- 22:04they try to injure her and they hate her.
- 22:08That that's where they start.
- 22:09And then now they
- 22:11disrespect all of the fans by
- 22:14dissing the country that they're in.
- 22:16I mean,
- 22:16it's just.
- 22:18There just can't be a dumber league
- 22:21or business
- 22:22than this one out here right now,
- 22:23other than like when the Cracker Barrel Cracker Barrel lady took over for five
- 22:27minutes and tried to like go woke with it or whatever she did.
- 22:30Like,
- 22:31this is just the,
- 22:33you know,
- 22:33fumbling the bag.
- 22:35Mhm.
- 22:36Uh,
- 22:37probably like peak.
- 22:38Like this is a peak bag fumble,
- 22:40if you've,
- 22:40if I've ever seen it.
- 22:41I,
- 22:41I just,
- 22:42I can't,
- 22:42I can't explain the idiocy in this.
- 22:45And where is just the gratitude?
- 22:47Like where is someone going,
- 22:48man,
- 22:49like,
- 22:49we've got a full arena.
- 22:512 years ago,
- 22:523 years ago,
- 22:53there were like,
- 22:54we were playing in a,
- 22:55in a high school gym,
- 22:56you know,
- 22:56it's like,
- 22:57or there was nobody in here and they had curtains up,
- 22:59like.
- 23:01Where's the gratitude?
- 23:02How are you not thankful?
- 23:04How are you finding a way to be angry at everything?
- 23:07It's insanity.
- 23:08Yeah,
- 23:08I,
- 23:08I will say,
- 23:09and that's something I think the entire country,
- 23:11frankly,
- 23:11could,
- 23:12could learn a little bit more of.
- 23:13I,
- 23:13I go back to the suicide of the West,
- 23:15the,
- 23:15the book from several years ago where that's a big part of it,
- 23:18talking about how
- 23:19we just seemingly have lost gratitude for everything that's amazing in
- 23:22this country and everything we've been blessed with a complaint,
- 23:25complaint all the time.
- 23:26Um,
- 23:26we haven't quite gotten to the point of France
- 23:28where we're burning down all of our cities,
- 23:30uh,
- 23:30but I don't know how far along,
- 23:32uh,
- 23:32how far away that is,
- 23:33and I will say with the WNBA in particular,
- 23:35not only are they doing walkouts of the national anthem,
- 23:37which is just childish.
- 23:38Let's be honest about it,
- 23:39it's childish.
- 23:40It's,
- 23:40it's pathetic,
- 23:41it's childish,
- 23:41it's,
- 23:42it's a,
- 23:42it's a TikTok understanding of the world,
- 23:45and history,
- 23:46um,
- 23:46to,
- 23:47to,
- 23:47to think that you're in this,
- 23:48uh,
- 23:48ridiculously
- 23:50oppressive place at this time.
- 23:52It's just nonsense.
- 23:53You add on to that,
- 23:54the whole treatment of Caitlin Clark where like
- 23:56they're trying to basically make her into,
- 23:58uh,
- 23:59I think Jamie Lee Curtis in the Halloween movies.
- 24:01Like they're just literally trying to murder her at all times.
- 24:04And then
- 24:05you add on to that,
- 24:06they
- 24:07seemingly like took a break
- 24:09in the middle of their season for multiple weeks for to do some
- 24:12tournament
- 24:13that had nothing to do with the league in the middle of their playoffs.
- 24:16Run
- 24:16and then they debuted all these playoffs like right against the NBA on like Monday
- 24:22night against like Monday Night Football when no one would possibly be watching it.
- 24:25It's just the dumbest league that's ever existed.
- 24:28Very dumb,
- 24:28very dumb.
- 24:29And also too,
- 24:29their star player,
- 24:30by the way,
- 24:30yelled at a fan and,
- 24:32you know,
- 24:33throws this fan under the bus who literally did
- 24:35nothing other than say the foul was on you.
- 24:39And then she goes and yells at him and points
- 24:41at him and does this whole big thing and like.
- 24:44I mean,
- 24:44none of it makes any sense.
- 24:46Just idiots.
- 24:47Well,
- 24:47we're not,
- 24:47we're not doing a WNBA draft vote today,
- 24:49Dan.
- 24:49I'm saying that right now.
- 24:51We're gonna take a,
- 24:51let's take a quick break,
- 24:52come back on the other side.
- 24:53We'll do our,
- 24:54our regular NBA,
- 24:56uh,
- 24:56draft,
- 24:56uh,
- 24:57where we will take
- 24:58over and under of wins.
- 24:59Uh,
- 24:59this,
- 24:59we're gonna do this with prediction market data,
- 25:01and we'll give you a way to participate in this
- 25:03as well if you go to predictableshow.com.
- 25:06In the coming days,
- 25:07uh,
- 25:07if you want to get in line.
- 25:08We also,
- 25:09uh,
- 25:09have a bunch of other stuff going on too.
- 25:11Uh,
- 25:11we'll talk to you about that.
- 25:12We have,
- 25:13um,
- 25:13uh,
- 25:14Senate fantasy updates.
- 25:15Uh,
- 25:15we,
- 25:15we go to SenateFantassy.com if you want to join,
- 25:18uh,
- 25:18a prediction market,
- 25:19uh,
- 25:19based,
- 25:20uh,
- 25:20fantasy league that you can go in for free and win
- 25:24free cash.
- 25:24We'll get into that as well.
- 25:25Uh,
- 25:26Senate Fantasy.com.
- 25:27Back in a second.
- 25:39Welcome back to Predictable with Stu.
- 25:40Dan Andros joins us.
- 25:41We're doing our
- 25:43beginning of the season NBA over-under draft where we use uh data from,
- 25:47uh,
- 25:48Calci,
- 25:48our friends at Calci who's got the prediction markets up.
- 25:51And we're gonna look at this.
- 25:52You can pick any team you want.
- 25:53You can pick uh any amount of wins you want.
- 25:56That's what's cool about these prediction markets where it's not just like a,
- 25:59an over-under you might get.
- 26:01It's just a specific number and you just gotta go from there.
- 26:03You can pick any number.
- 26:04So you can be really aggressive,
- 26:05you can say,
- 26:06you know,
- 26:06uh,
- 26:06go with a low price and try to get a big upside,
- 26:09or you can go.
- 26:09The opposite direction,
- 26:11uh,
- 26:11and pick a big favorite.
- 26:12You can do whatever you want,
- 26:14uh,
- 26:14any team that you want.
- 26:15Uh,
- 26:15Dan,
- 26:15we'll draft back and forth.
- 26:16We'll kind of do the,
- 26:17we'll do the,
- 26:18maybe the snake draft style here of going,
- 26:20uh,
- 26:21why don't you go first?
- 26:21You get the first pick overall,
- 26:23then I'll do too,
- 26:24and we'll go,
- 26:25uh,
- 26:25from there.
- 26:26All right,
- 26:27I'm gonna go with,
- 26:28uh,
- 26:29an interesting one I think to start out of the gate.
- 26:30I'm going with the Brooklyn Nets.
- 26:3340 wins,
- 26:36yes,
- 26:37and if,
- 26:37uh,
- 26:38if I was correct,
- 26:38and when I looked at it,
- 26:39it was at 12 cents.
- 26:42Wow,
- 26:42this,
- 26:43I gotta say I'm shocked by this one.
- 26:45Nets,
- 26:46uh,
- 26:47what was the number again?
- 26:4740,
- 26:4840 plus wins.
- 26:50So the Nets are gonna go over 500,
- 26:52and you're talking about 2026,
- 26:532027,
- 26:54the season we're in,
- 26:55right?
- 26:56Yeah,
- 26:56OK.
- 26:57All right.
- 26:58Listen,
- 26:58listen,
- 26:59I think,
- 26:59uh,
- 27:00they don't have to go over 400,
- 27:01by the way,
- 27:02or,
- 27:02uh,
- 27:02I'm sorry,
- 27:03over 500
- 27:04to get to 40 wins,
- 27:05uh,
- 27:06for an 82 game season,
- 27:07so they could be
- 27:0842 games under.
- 27:10I think they can do it.
- 27:12Dan,
- 27:12I'm,
- 27:12I,
- 27:13I,
- 27:13I gotta say,
- 27:14I gotta say,
- 27:14I don't know about that one.
- 27:15I,
- 27:16I like it.
- 27:16I like the aggressiveness of it.
- 27:18It's,
- 27:18it's at 12 cents,
- 27:19so you got a lot of upside and only a little bit of downside.
- 27:22You don't,
- 27:22you don't have to be that good to get to 40 wins.
- 27:24I'm just in the regular season.
- 27:26I'm just saying that's true.
- 27:28Uh,
- 27:28I will say that's true.
- 27:29Um,
- 27:30but,
- 27:30uh,
- 27:31I don't know.
- 27:32I don't,
- 27:33I don't know.
- 27:33I,
- 27:33I kind of feel like there's a chance
- 27:35they might not win 30 games.
- 27:37Um,
- 27:37what's,
- 27:38what's your theory on this?
- 27:39Why do I think they already won one,
- 27:40didn't they?
- 27:41Did they win last night?
- 27:42I don't know.
- 27:42I don't know,
- 27:43but.
- 27:44Uh,
- 27:45my theory is,
- 27:46uh,
- 27:46they have a couple of good players in Porter Junior.
- 27:49They got Julius Randall.
- 27:50They've got some,
- 27:51I don't know,
- 27:52Russian guy or something who's decent.
- 27:54They got just a few decent guys.
- 27:56They just feel like they're gonna scrap up a bunch of wins against,
- 27:59you know,
- 28:00the,
- 28:00the middle of the road teams.
- 28:02You know,
- 28:02they'll,
- 28:03they'll lose to the good teams a lot of the time.
- 28:05You know,
- 28:06they might sneak in an upset here and there.
- 28:08I,
- 28:08I think they can scrape it together.
- 28:10I don't think they're gonna be a 30-win team.
- 28:11I have some bad news for you,
- 28:13Dan.
- 28:13Last night,
- 28:13the Charlotte Hornets 110,
- 28:15Brooklyn Nets 103.
- 28:17So they are off 20 and 1 start.
- 28:18Plenty of time lost by 7.
- 28:20They lost to 7 to Charlotte.
- 28:21Yes,
- 28:22that's true.
- 28:22OK.
- 28:23Uh,
- 28:23so that's an interesting first pick.
- 28:24I gotta say I did not see that.
- 28:25You said you had a couple of surprises for me.
- 28:27I did not see that one coming,
- 28:29so I like it.
- 28:29I like it.
- 28:30I like the aggressiveness of it.
- 28:31Um,
- 28:32let me go with my first pick here in the draft.
- 28:35I'm gonna go.
- 28:37Uh,
- 28:38with,
- 28:38uh,
- 28:39Houston.
- 28:41Uh,
- 28:41the,
- 28:42uh,
- 28:42Houston Rockets,
- 28:43I think last year was like kind of a disaster year,
- 28:46big injuries.
- 28:48They've got a lot of talent.
- 28:49I like their additions this year and I'm looking at the win totals now.
- 28:53And
- 28:57I'll go 50+
- 28:5950+
- 29:01wins
- 29:02and I now hold up before you go on to your 50+,
- 29:04dude,
- 29:04did you deduct the,
- 29:05uh,
- 29:05win totals for the amount for the base on the clubs in Houston.
- 29:09And,
- 29:10uh,
- 29:10just all the clubbing that they're gonna do.
- 29:12I mean this is kind of a thing.
- 29:13There is a nightlife situation that you do have
- 29:15to factor in whenever you're talking about calculate.
- 29:17OK,
- 29:17I'm just,
- 29:17I'm just looking out for you.
- 29:18And here's the thing with Houston,
- 29:19very hot,
- 29:20very humid.
- 29:21Everyone wants to be inside at all times,
- 29:24so they've built a lot of strip clubs,
- 29:25and
- 29:26that can affect an NBA franchise.
- 29:28However,
- 29:29I'm gonna have some faith here in,
- 29:31in the Rockets.
- 29:32I think they're gonna be pretty good this year,
- 29:34and,
- 29:34uh,
- 29:35at 50+,
- 29:35I can get that at 59 cents right now.
- 29:38Um,
- 29:38so I will take the Rockets
- 29:41with my first pick over
- 29:4350 wins.
- 29:44I,
- 29:44I was gonna take 45,
- 29:45but you were so aggressive with your first pick.
- 29:47I,
- 29:47I,
- 29:47I,
- 29:47I had to go a little bit harder than that.
- 29:49And,
- 29:50uh,
- 29:50while we're,
- 29:51since you said a couple of surprises.
- 29:53Since you were,
- 29:54you were gonna go and take a couple of surprises,
- 29:57boy,
- 29:58um.
- 30:00I'm gonna go
- 30:02The New Orleans Pelicans
- 30:04over 30 wins.
- 30:06Yes,
- 30:07I think they can do it.
- 30:08I think they can go 30 and 52 or better.
- 30:12Uh,
- 30:13I like the Pelicans.
- 30:14My,
- 30:14my son's become a fan of the Pelicans,
- 30:16which is sort of hard to explain why,
- 30:18but now I'm,
- 30:18I'm in on them as well.
- 30:19They have a lot of talent,
- 30:20a lot of depth.
- 30:21I don't understand why they only won 26 games last year,
- 30:25but I think they can clear 30.
- 30:26Well,
- 30:27they're gonna win all 20 games that Zion Williamson plays in this year.
- 30:31He played 60-something games last year,
- 30:33Dan.
- 30:33This guy's a,
- 30:34he's a,
- 30:35he couldn't.
- 30:36That's a piece of iron.
- 30:37He's a piece of iron.
- 30:38No,
- 30:38uh,
- 30:39the thing about this team too is they,
- 30:40they won 26 games last year.
- 30:42I don't understand why they only won 26 games.
- 30:44They did have some injuries,
- 30:45as you point out.
- 30:46They do have some vulnerability to that,
- 30:48but they they legitimately have a lot of depth.
- 30:50They have 10,
- 30:51they're 10 guys deep pretty easily.
- 30:53And in addition to that,
- 30:54I will say last night played the,
- 30:56uh,
- 30:57the Indiana Pacers
- 30:58and despite their pathetic,
- 31:00uh,
- 31:00handling of the game at the end,
- 31:02they were very competitive,
- 31:03led for most of the game,
- 31:04and wound up losing as well.
- 31:05So they're off to an 0-1 start.
- 31:07So,
- 31:07but I'm gonna do it anyway.
- 31:09It's Pelicans over 30 wins at 52 cents.
- 31:13All right.
- 31:14All right,
- 31:14here we go.
- 31:15Pick #2.
- 31:16I told you this was a different kind of,
- 31:18different kind of season for me here,
- 31:20different kind of draft.
- 31:21I'm going with the 76ers,
- 31:24uh,
- 31:25and I'm going,
- 31:26this is,
- 31:26this is,
- 31:27uh,
- 31:27I would say partially a hedge my life situation here.
- 31:30Uh,
- 31:3160+ wins,
- 31:33yes,
- 31:34at 15 cents.
- 31:36Wow,
- 31:37I actually think that's not,
- 31:39I feel like that's not terrible value actually.
- 31:4160 wins at 15 cents.
- 31:43It's very possible they get there.
- 31:45I mean,
- 31:45that team is.
- 31:47Absolutely stacked.
- 31:48I think injury is the only thing that stops them from getting there.
- 31:52It is difficult to get to 60 though because.
- 31:55I mean,
- 31:55I know Celtics a few years ago when they won,
- 31:57they were obliterating everyone,
- 31:58and I think they won exactly 60,
- 32:00so,
- 32:01or maybe 62,
- 32:03but
- 32:03it's very difficult to get there.
- 32:04But that team can.
- 32:06I mean,
- 32:06that team is utterly
- 32:08stacked.
- 32:09Now,
- 32:09you said the only thing that could hold them back is the injuries.
- 32:11Is there any injury history whatsoever in let's say a Joel Embiid?
- 32:16No,
- 32:17no,
- 32:17no,
- 32:17I don't think he's ever missed a game.
- 32:18I think he's basically the Cal Ripken of the NBA.
- 32:21He's the Zion Williamson of the NBA.
- 32:23No,
- 32:24uh,
- 32:24Zion Williamson of the East.
- 32:26Um,
- 32:26I,
- 32:27what I think is interesting about this team,
- 32:28and I,
- 32:28cause I
- 32:30took some,
- 32:30I have a small,
- 32:31very small,
- 32:32no position on them winning the title.
- 32:34And partially that was just because there was so much hype with adding LeBron James,
- 32:38who obviously,
- 32:39as much as I can't stand him,
- 32:40is a,
- 32:40is a,
- 32:40is a very good player,
- 32:41but he's also in his 40s.
- 32:43And I know what I,
- 32:43how I feel in my,
- 32:44uh,
- 32:4440s back in the day when I was in my 40s,
- 32:47which I'm no longer in.
- 32:48Uh,
- 32:48I don't,
- 32:49but I didn't feel good about it.
- 32:50Um,
- 32:51uh,
- 32:51I didn't feel that great about life and moving around a lot.
- 32:54Now,
- 32:54look,
- 32:55he's an elite athlete.
- 32:56He'll probably
- 32:57be pretty good if he can accept the role of not being the top guy.
- 33:00But what,
- 33:00what kind of is
- 33:01winning me over a little bit to your position here,
- 33:03Dan?
- 33:04I,
- 33:05let's say Embiid plays 28 games,
- 33:07which is very,
- 33:08very likely,
- 33:09right?
- 33:09Very possible.
- 33:10Let's say,
- 33:11uh,
- 33:12LeBron starts to,
- 33:13to,
- 33:13you know,
- 33:14fade away and,
- 33:15and he's no longer the player he was.
- 33:17Um,
- 33:18you still have
- 33:20Maxie and Edgecombe and Brown and,
- 33:24And,
- 33:24uh,
- 33:25Simon's off the bench and,
- 33:26and,
- 33:27uh,
- 33:27the,
- 33:27the,
- 33:28the the rookie,
- 33:29I think looks pretty good too.
- 33:30And,
- 33:30and like,
- 33:31you are,
- 33:32they're,
- 33:32they're stacked even without those guys and you can just throw those three guys,
- 33:35Edgecombe,
- 33:36Brown,
- 33:36and Maxi out there,
- 33:37and that's all they have and they'll probably win 50 games with just that.
- 33:42I know it's sad.
- 33:44As a Celtics fan,
- 33:44this is sad times.
- 33:46I mean,
- 33:46to watch Jalen Brown over there,
- 33:47it's,
- 33:48uh,
- 33:48it's difficult,
- 33:49difficult times in the Andros family here.
- 33:50So be,
- 33:51be nice.
- 33:52They got to deal with what's going on with the Eagles right now.
- 33:54So like give them at least a little bit of happiness for a short time.
- 33:58Well,
- 33:58we'll talk about this later,
- 33:59but I have a different theory on that,
- 34:00on that,
- 34:01why they don't deserve any of the things.
- 34:02But anyway,
- 34:03go ahead.
- 34:04All right,
- 34:04let's go to your next pick.
- 34:05You got two in a row here.
- 34:063rd round pick for Dan Andres,
- 34:07NBA draft.
- 34:08Yeah.
- 34:09All right.
- 34:10Let's go.
- 34:11All right,
- 34:11I'm gonna go with another hedge my life pick here.
- 34:15Celtics,
- 34:1650+ wins.
- 34:18I'm going no at 37 cents.
- 34:23We'll happily lose that one if the Celtics go over 50 wins,
- 34:26but,
- 34:27uh,
- 34:27I don't know.
- 34:27I mean,
- 34:28listen,
- 34:28first game,
- 34:29Paul George drops 38 and they lose.
- 34:32And,
- 34:32uh,
- 34:33if Paul George is the best player on that team,
- 34:35though it's gonna be a long year.
- 34:36What,
- 34:37what did you think of Jayson Tatum because he didn't look
- 34:39to me as explosive as I remember him before the injury.
- 34:43No,
- 34:44he,
- 34:44um,
- 34:44you can't.
- 34:46I wouldn't be concerned unless this was,
- 34:48unless he's averaging like 14 points a game,
- 34:51like,
- 34:51you know,
- 34:51a month into the season.
- 34:52He has lots of these types of games where he just looks terrible,
- 34:56he can't make a shot,
- 34:58he's not,
- 34:59he's just taking 80-foot stepbacks,
- 35:02and he doesn't care that he's 3 for 17,
- 35:04like he just keeps doing it.
- 35:05And so,
- 35:07I,
- 35:08I don't worry too much about him.
- 35:09I feel like he'll come around and he'll get,
- 35:11he'll get hot,
- 35:11but,
- 35:12um,
- 35:13You know,
- 35:14we'll see,
- 35:14I guess,
- 35:14because we only saw a little bit of him last
- 35:16year coming back from the injury and he looked OK,
- 35:18but,
- 35:18uh,
- 35:19I was a little surprised at,
- 35:20at the optimism,
- 35:21honestly,
- 35:21with the Celtics considering the Brown trade.
- 35:23And they,
- 35:24they trade Jalen Brown as his,
- 35:25you know,
- 35:25second-best player,
- 35:27and they bring in Paul George,
- 35:28who's,
- 35:28again,
- 35:29speaking of health,
- 35:30not necessarily the guy you can depend on for 80 games a year.
- 35:34And
- 35:35everyone's like,
- 35:35oh gosh,
- 35:36yeah,
- 35:36they're gonna win 55 games.
- 35:37I,
- 35:37I,
- 35:37I don't know.
- 35:38It's,
- 35:38it's.
- 35:39The East is pretty tough.
- 35:40There's a lot of depth in the East.
- 35:41There's not a lot of bad teams in the East,
- 35:44and you have the situation now where they redid,
- 35:46if you don't know this,
- 35:47they redid the,
- 35:48the rules for the lottery.
- 35:50So like now,
- 35:51it's bad
- 35:52to finish in the bottom three.
- 35:54So there's gonna be,
- 35:54you would think,
- 35:55no tanking teams,
- 35:56right?
- 35:56There's no reason to tank anymore because you actually get,
- 35:59uh,
- 35:59a chance,
- 36:00a better chance at the top pick
- 36:02if you're out of,
- 36:03outside of the worst 3,
- 36:05records.
- 36:05So you want to play all the way to the end of the year.
- 36:07I was surprised at how optimistic we are.
- 36:09I actually kind of like that pick even though,
- 36:11you know,
- 36:12Celtics usually find a way.
- 36:13Uh,
- 36:13they're,
- 36:13they're,
- 36:14they're very,
- 36:14very good.
- 36:15Um,
- 36:15OK,
- 36:16I wanna go.
- 36:19Next pick here,
- 36:19Dan,
- 36:20scrolling through,
- 36:20I've,
- 36:21I've marked some in my,
- 36:22in my account.
- 36:24Uh,
- 36:26Let me go,
- 36:28I'm gonna go through.
- 36:28I'm gonna,
- 36:28here's what I'm gonna go.
- 36:30I'd go Golden State.
- 36:32Steph Curry is a great player,
- 36:33one of the greatest players of all time.
- 36:35Greatest shooter of all time.
- 36:36There's no doubt about it.
- 36:37The rest of that team right now
- 36:39is a bit of a disaster.
- 36:42Draymond Green,
- 36:42how he's in the league,
- 36:43I have no idea.
- 36:45He is a terrible player
- 36:46at this point.
- 36:47Uh,
- 36:48it's not,
- 36:48not looking good.
- 36:49And
- 36:50I,
- 36:51they've
- 36:52thinned out the roster.
- 36:53They,
- 36:53you know,
- 36:54they have a bunch of money spent on guys that seemingly will never play.
- 36:58Uh,
- 36:58and,
- 36:59uh,
- 36:59at the very best,
- 37:00they're waiting for a guy to come back.
- 37:02Uh,
- 37:02Butler is old and,
- 37:03and,
- 37:04and,
- 37:04you know,
- 37:04hurt,
- 37:05and maybe he comes back at the end of the year,
- 37:07but at that point,
- 37:08they might be,
- 37:09they might be 30 games under 500 by then.
- 37:12I
- 37:13am going to go,
- 37:15I really want to push this.
- 37:16I really want to push it.
- 37:18I want to get aggressive here,
- 37:19Dan.
- 37:20Yeah.
- 37:23Or do I,
- 37:23you know what?
- 37:24I'm gonna,
- 37:25I'm gonna go 1.
- 37:26This is what I like to do with prediction markets.
- 37:27If you're in prediction markets,
- 37:28there's one thing I like to do.
- 37:29When you have something you feel strongly about,
- 37:31I like backing off one level from it.
- 37:33So that's what I'm gonna do here.
- 37:34I'm gonna do Golden State under
- 37:3635 wins.
- 37:38Now,
- 37:38that is not a good year for a Steph Curry team,
- 37:40but
- 37:40if he's,
- 37:41if he's healthy the whole year,
- 37:42good chance I lose that.
- 37:43I'll probably win,
- 37:44you know,
- 37:44be responsible for about 30 wins by himself.
- 37:46But I,
- 37:47I still think he's gonna miss some games and
- 37:49it's gonna be hard to keep that team together.
- 37:50I think there's a chance,
- 37:51Dan.
- 37:52Like,
- 37:52I,
- 37:53I'm,
- 37:53I was gonna go under 30.
- 37:55I think there's a chance of complete catastrophe here.
- 37:58Like I,
- 37:59a Steph injury,
- 38:00this team might win 25.
- 38:01Yeah,
- 38:01Porzingis doesn't look like he's ever gonna play again.
- 38:03I don't even know.
- 38:04Uh,
- 38:05I could be under 25 wins,
- 38:06but I'm gonna be a little on the safer side and go under 35 wins for Golden State.
- 38:10I got that at,
- 38:11uh,
- 38:12let's see,
- 38:13I'm gonna go,
- 38:14no,
- 38:14I can get that at 45 cents right now.
- 38:1645 cents.
- 38:18Um,
- 38:18I think that's good value.
- 38:20Uh,
- 38:21Golden State under,
- 38:23I'm writing this down as we go,
- 38:24under
- 38:2535 wins.
- 38:26OK.
- 38:27So
- 38:29I got one more pick here to go here,
- 38:30Dan.
- 38:30I'm gonna do 2 in a row.
- 38:33And just flipping through what I have marked here,
- 38:36I've.
- 38:41I
- 38:45I got 2 I want to go with here.
- 38:51Oh man,
- 38:51this is tough.
- 38:52OK,
- 38:52I'm gonna go.
- 38:57I am going to go
- 38:59the
- 39:00Detroit Pistons.
- 39:02Over 50 wins.
- 39:04Detroit over 50 wins.
- 39:06I can get that at basically a 50/50 shots,
- 39:0852% right now.
- 39:10I'm gonna take them 50+ wins.
- 39:12They won 60 last year.
- 39:14They did lose,
- 39:14you know,
- 39:15they lost,
- 39:15uh,
- 39:16they lost some,
- 39:16but they,
- 39:17I think they added to.
- 39:18I think Isaiah Joe was a really good ad for them,
- 39:19and they needed that,
- 39:20like,
- 39:21they needed that outside shooting.
- 39:22They've got him and Duncan Robinson now,
- 39:24so they've got some shooting.
- 39:25Uh,
- 39:25I think people are super down on,
- 39:28on,
- 39:28uh,
- 39:28uh,
- 39:29Durran because he had one bad playoff series.
- 39:32Like,
- 39:32I,
- 39:32I don't understand it.
- 39:33Like everyone.
- 39:34Like they,
- 39:35they're just throwing this guy out.
- 39:36The guy was all NBA,
- 39:37you know,
- 39:37type player last year
- 39:39for the whole season.
- 39:40They've got really good defense.
- 39:41They've got Cade.
- 39:42I'm going there.
- 39:42I'm going,
- 39:43uh,
- 39:43Detroit 50 plus.
- 39:44We're going a little bit long here as I'm realizing it.
- 39:46Sorry,
- 39:46Dan.
- 39:46So let's rush through here.
- 39:48Yeah,
- 39:48yep,
- 39:48I don't hate it because they just,
- 39:50uh,
- 39:51Duncan Robinson.
- 39:51To the Celtics the other night.
- 39:53Um,
- 39:53it was ridiculous.
- 39:54But all right,
- 39:55all right,
- 39:55I,
- 39:56so
- 39:56I am not going the cautious stepback route.
- 39:58I am going the opposite route.
- 40:00I'm uber aggressive here.
- 40:02Trail Blazers.
- 40:02I like the squad.
- 40:03You got John Morant,
- 40:04you got Damian Lillard,
- 40:06you got some bigs in there who are solid,
- 40:09um,
- 40:10came out an impressive win on their first night.
- 40:13I'm going Trail Blazers,
- 40:1550+ wins.
- 40:17I had it at yes when it was at 35%.
- 40:2135 cents.
- 40:22All right,
- 40:2235% on Dan,
- 40:2450+.
- 40:24You got one more pick here,
- 40:25Dan,
- 40:26and that'll be the last round of our NBA draft.
- 40:28Go ahead.
- 40:29Wizards,
- 40:3045
- 40:31plus wins.
- 40:32Again,
- 40:33being uber aggressive here.
- 40:34Trae Young,
- 40:35Anthony Davis,
- 40:36again,
- 40:37someone please stay healthy.
- 40:38Uh,
- 40:39yes,
- 40:4027 cents.
- 40:41So I have gone uber aggressive,
- 40:43you know,
- 40:44because I,
- 40:44I mean,
- 40:45you know,
- 40:45the strat is you only got to hit a couple of these to be ahead.
- 40:48So,
- 40:48hm,
- 40:49that's incredible.
- 40:49I mean I will say that's,
- 40:51that's,
- 40:51uh,
- 40:51that is aggressive.
- 40:52Your,
- 40:52your biggest favorite here,
- 40:5337%.
- 40:54So like that you're all long shots pretty for the most part here.
- 40:58OK,
- 40:58uh,
- 40:58I,
- 40:59uh,
- 40:59my last pick here,
- 41:01I toyed with,
- 41:01um,
- 41:02A couple of different,
- 41:03uh,
- 41:04uh,
- 41:04versions of this.
- 41:05I,
- 41:05I really was thinking about taking an under on Utah.
- 41:08I,
- 41:08I for some reason,
- 41:08I,
- 41:10because you can always take the under on Utah,
- 41:12yeah,
- 41:12and like,
- 41:12and like it's pretty like you can go,
- 41:15uh,
- 41:15let's see,
- 41:16if I go 40 plus,
- 41:17no,
- 41:17I can get that basically 50/50,
- 41:19um,
- 41:20so I was thinking about that.
- 41:21The other one was Milwaukee under a very low number.
- 41:24I think Milwaukee's gonna have a real rough year
- 41:26this year.
- 41:27Uh,
- 41:28so I.
- 41:29Let me do that.
- 41:30I guess I'll,
- 41:31I'm so torn between those two.
- 41:33Let's looking at percentages here real quick.
- 41:3525,
- 41:36uh,
- 41:37if I go no.
- 41:40I'll go,
- 41:41I'll,
- 41:41I'll go aggressive here.
- 41:42I'll go Utah under 35 wins.
- 41:46At 32%.
- 41:48I think that's probably too aggressive,
- 41:50honestly,
- 41:51um.
- 41:52A 35 under
- 41:54and a 32%.
- 41:56I really wanted to take Milwaukee under 25 wins,
- 41:58but,
- 41:58uh,
- 41:59uh,
- 42:00that's very possible,
- 42:01very possible.
- 42:02OK,
- 42:02so quickly to go through it here we go.
- 42:03Dan goes with
- 42:04the Nets over 40,
- 42:06uh,
- 42:06the Sixers over 60,
- 42:08the Celtics over 50,
- 42:09uh,
- 42:09under 50 wins.
- 42:11Um,
- 42:12uh,
- 42:13Portland over 50 wins,
- 42:14Wizards over 45 wins.
- 42:16Uh,
- 42:16I will go with the Rockets over 50 wins,
- 42:19the Pelicans over 30,
- 42:20Golden State under
- 42:2245,
- 42:22Detroit over 50,
- 42:24and Utah under
- 42:2535 wins.

- 42:57I'm pretty happy with them.
- 42:59There's a few that I'm a little nervous about,
- 43:00uh,
- 43:01and

- 43:16Yeah,
- 43:16that's fine.
- 43:17I,
- 43:17I can deal with that.
- 43:18Uh,
- 43:18but
- 43:19I think we're gonna have a pretty good year.
- 43:21Uh,
- 43:21so if you want to get involved,
- 43:22this is the time to do it.

- 44:03That's me right there.
- 44:04I'm in thirty-fourth place.
- 44:06Adam's a little ahead of me.
- 44:06That's just because he's picking all liberals.
- 44:08And,
- 44:09of course,
- 44:09there he is,
- 44:09number 12.
- 44:10But if you scroll down towards the bottom,
- 44:11can we get to the bottom of this list?
- 44:13Do we have enough time to even get to the bottom of this list?
- 44:15Scroll,
- 44:15scroll,
- 44:15scroll.
