- 0:13Hello friends, it's Sean here. And it's Yvonne because it's
- 0:17Friday. Happy Friday to all of you.
- 0:20It's the 9th of January and this is my last day of holidays.
- 0:24I have been loving holidays and I must admit I am fortunate to
- 0:28think that I have AAI have more holidays to come and.
- 0:33I I can enjoy holidays vicariously through you guys who
- 0:36are still chilling out at home. Isn't that sweet of you?
- 0:39But to all of you who've been already back at work or plenty
- 0:42of you casual workers who have been working all all through the
- 0:46holidays as well, yeah, shout out to you.
- 0:49Thank you. Keep the world going.
- 0:51Yes, shout out to the two Connery boys who are out there
- 0:53doing it and making the wheels of commerce grind.
- 0:57Well done. But we get to put a hold on the
- 1:00grinding of wheels and commerce and we get to get a bit smarter.
- 1:04We get to get a bit wiser as we are going to be reading our next
- 1:08full of handful of proverbs as we come and sit down by the feet
- 1:13of that wise king and hear his proverbs as shared in Proverbs
- 1:19chapter 21 to 7. Wine produces mockers.
- 1:33Alcohol leads to brawls. Those LED astray by drink cannot
- 1:38be wise. The King's fury is like a lion's
- 1:43roar. To rouse his anger is to risk
- 1:46your life. Avoiding a fight is a mark of
- 1:50honour. Only fools insist on
- 1:53quarrelling. Those too lazy to plough in the
- 1:58right season will have no food at the harvest.
- 2:04The good advice lies deep within the heart.
- 2:07A person with understanding will draw it out.
- 2:12Many will say they are loyal friends, but who can find one
- 2:16who is truly reliable? The godly walk with integrity.
- 2:23Blessed are their children who follow them.
- 2:29And again. Wine produces mockers.
- 2:33Alcohol leads to brawls. Those LED astray by drink cannot
- 2:38be wise. The King's fury is like a lion's
- 2:44roar. To rouse his anger is to risk
- 2:47your life. Avoiding a fight is a mark of
- 2:52honour. Only fools insist on
- 2:54quarrelling. Those too lazy to plough in the
- 3:00right season will have no food at the harvest.
- 3:05Though good advice lies deep within the heart, a person with
- 3:09understanding will draw it out. Many will say they are loyal
- 3:15friends, but who can find one who is truly reliable?
- 3:21The godly walk with integrity. Blessed are their children who
- 3:25follow them. Boy, that is dense.
- 3:38There are a lot of really, really good bits in there do.
- 3:43You know the the one that talks about the King's fury like a
- 3:46lion's roar. I think we often think of God as
- 3:50this benign friend, and we forget this kingly aspect to
- 3:55God's character where to rouse his anger is not a good thing.
- 4:01Oh, wow, absolutely. I was just the person who can
- 4:07draw out that really good advice from someone deep in their heart
- 4:11like that's oh, that's so beautiful.
- 4:15And just that final, that final one, the godly walk with
- 4:19integrity and blessed are they children who follow them.
- 4:22Just as a as a parent, that's obviously the desire of my heart
- 4:28is that just we could walk with integrity and follow God's,
- 4:33God's path for us and that our children would choose to do that
- 4:36as well. Just the the power of integrity
- 4:41as a as a life choice and also hand in hand with integrity is
- 4:46not picking fights and just being a person of peace.
- 4:51Oh, what a beautiful picture of a way to live.
- 4:53Yeah. Oh, thank you, Lord, for this
- 4:56picture of how to live. Thank you for this wisdom shared
- 5:00with us through the Proverbs, that you would have us be people
- 5:04of integrity, people of peace, people of understanding.
- 5:10So that we can take the time not to quarrel, not to push back,
- 5:14but to hear and to understand and to live alongside and to
- 5:19always, always act in a way that is upright with integrity.
- 5:24And that that not only brings the best chance of a good life
- 5:27for us, but those around us and our families and our friends.
- 5:31So Lord, just shape our hearts to be your people with your way
- 5:36of peace and integrity. We love you and thank you for
- 5:42being that ultimate example of deep, deep integrity and giving
- 5:47us your profound peace. And we are so grateful and we
- 5:51love you. I mean, pray all of this in your
- 5:53name, Jesus, Amen.
