- 0:58Speaker 2: Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Well, I have so much to get into, but first,
- 1:05Speaker 3: let me tell you how much fun I had in Texas.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Chris Frangiolla did all three shows with me. Drake, my son,
- 1:13Speaker 3: was the tour manager, and we had a lot of fun.
- 1:17Speaker 3: There were some travel mistakes that we made, but it
- 1:21Speaker 3: was great.
- 1:21Speaker 2: It started out in Houston.
- 1:25Speaker 3: In which we made the mistake, or Peter rather, to
- 1:28Speaker 3: stay at a Houston airport.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Not something I suggest. Very depressing.
- 1:35Speaker 3: And at that point, Chris had bailed and got his
- 1:39Speaker 3: own rental car, which was definitely the right thing to do.
- 1:43Speaker 2: So we left. We did the great show in Houston,
- 1:45Speaker 2: House of Blues. So fun. And I did some interesting outfits.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I wore cowboy boots. I wore a cowboy hat.
- 1:53Speaker 3: I like to change it up. A lot of things
- 1:55Speaker 3: people talk about, you know, is it hard to be
- 1:57Speaker 3: a female comedian?
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah, actually, I think it's the outfits.
- 2:00Speaker 3: I think planning my outfits and hating most of them
- 2:03Speaker 3: is been the hardest part of being a female stand
- 2:06Speaker 3: up because guys don't have to worry about that stuff.
- 2:08Speaker 2: And I've talked about it when.
- 2:08Speaker 3: I've interviewed other comedians, female comedians, and we all agree
- 2:12Speaker 3: it is really kind of hard to find that uniform.
- 2:14Speaker 2: So I'm like, whatever. I love my hat and a
- 2:17Speaker 2: cowboy hat and I love my cowboy boots.
- 2:19Speaker 3: And so I did it and I wore these funky
- 2:21Speaker 3: sparkly outfits and they seemed to be well-received or at
- 2:24Speaker 3: least people lied to my face. But the thing that
- 2:27Speaker 3: was universal is that they loved the standup and I've
- 2:31Speaker 3: fallen back in love with doing standup and I'm super
- 2:33Speaker 3: excited to do my shows come this fall, which you
- 2:37Speaker 3: go to heathermcdonald.net to get those. But so the next day,
- 2:42Speaker 3: We were supposed to leave Houston and go to Dallas
- 2:44Speaker 3: and stay at another hotel airport. That's when Chris just said, goodbye.
- 2:49Speaker 3: I've gotten to rent a car. I'm on my own.
- 2:52Speaker 2: And he went and got a.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Very cute hotel right across from the venue with like
- 2:57Speaker 3: cuteness along the way and cute walking around.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Now it is very hot.
- 3:02Speaker 3: So I did not understand that part of Texas that much,
- 3:07Speaker 3: but at least it was cool and air conditioned.
- 3:10Speaker 2: In the House of Blues.
- 3:11Speaker 3: So the House of Blues Dallas show was great.
- 3:12Speaker 2: It was sold out.
- 3:15Speaker 3: And I found these other girls in the meet and
- 3:17Speaker 3: greet and they were so cute and they were wearing
- 3:18Speaker 3: pinks that I was like, I need a photo for myself.
- 3:21Speaker 3: And then we went to the foundation room and they
- 3:23Speaker 3: gifted me with a huge bottle of Dom Perignon. Turns
- 3:26Speaker 3: out my 21-year-old son does like champagne. He's like, turns
- 3:31Speaker 3: out I like champagne. I'm like, oh, because it's Dom.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Anyway, so fun. Had a great time. Then we.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Chris is on his own. He gets in his car
- 3:40Speaker 3: and he starts going down to Austin for the Saturday show.
- 3:43Speaker 3: But Drake and I go 30 minutes back to the
- 3:47Speaker 3: airport hotel and then we get our room and then
- 3:51Speaker 3: we go. And it wasn't even convenient. By the way,
- 3:55Speaker 3: it was not even convenient. It was like, I don't
- 3:57Speaker 3: know why Peter thought this was a good idea.
- 4:00Speaker 2: It was not.
- 4:02Speaker 3: From now on, I'm always going to stay right by
- 4:03Speaker 3: the venue so that I can take your recommendations. I
- 4:06Speaker 3: get my cute coffee and my cute whatever. I'd stay
- 4:08Speaker 3: at a nice hotel. These hotels were nice, but I'm
- 4:10Speaker 3: not a flight attendant.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Okay. I'm not on a layover. I don't know what.
- 4:15Speaker 3: I did see one interesting thing on a TikTok. There's
- 4:17Speaker 3: a TWA and they said it was JFK.
- 4:21Speaker 2: And this looks so cool.
- 4:23Speaker 3: I don't even know if this is real, but I
- 4:25Speaker 3: saw a TikTok on it. And it is the airport hotel.
- 4:28Speaker 3: It's called TWA Airport Hotel inside JFK. And it takes
- 4:33Speaker 3: you back to, like, 1960. And I thought that looked fun.
- 4:39Speaker 3: But still, only if you're going to, like, stay one
- 4:41Speaker 3: night so that you can get on your flight to Europe.
- 4:43Speaker 3: I just don't know why you'd do that. Anyway, so
- 4:47Speaker 3: Chris wakes up at his cute hotel, gets in his
- 4:49Speaker 3: running car, and starts going off to Austin. Drake and
- 4:53Speaker 3: I are waiting. We're about to get on the plane
- 4:54Speaker 3: at 12. It gets delayed. It gets delayed. It gets delayed.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Now I have a meet and greet at five 15
- 5:00Speaker 3: and it's an approximate three and a half hour drive
- 5:02Speaker 3: from the Dallas airport to Austin.
- 5:06Speaker 2: So I I've already checked my back.
- 5:08Speaker 3: So I'm wearing like a pair of Trina Turk shorts
- 5:11Speaker 3: and tennis shoes and a t-shirt. And I'm like, at
- 5:14Speaker 3: least I packed my makeup with me. At least I
- 5:17Speaker 3: kept my makeup with me. Cause that would have been terrifying. Anyway,
- 5:20Speaker 3: I'm like, Drake, we cannot risk this. We have a
- 5:24Speaker 3: huge house at the Paramount Theater. It was a big
- 5:30Speaker 3: number of people that were coming. So I was like,
- 5:32Speaker 3: there's no way I can risk this. And the meet
- 5:34Speaker 3: and greets at 515. So we get an Uber and
- 5:38Speaker 3: I'm like, hey, if the plane lands, we'll stop by
- 5:41Speaker 3: the airport and get my bag. If not, I'm going
- 5:44Speaker 3: to wear this. And I have like a funny story.
- 5:46Speaker 3: At least I have a makeup face.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:49Speaker 3: So on our way in the Uber, we had the
- 5:52Speaker 3: joy of stopping at Bucky's.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Am I saying it right?
- 5:57Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:59Speaker 3: My editor is from Texas. I thought this was just
- 6:03Speaker 3: like a gas station stop place. I had no idea.
- 6:09Speaker 3: what I've been missing out. When people would talk about, oh,
- 6:12Speaker 3: you got to get good barbecue. Oh, Texas barbecue. Oh,
- 6:16Speaker 3: I'm like, why is everyone so weird about the barbecue?
- 6:17Speaker 2: Like, who cares?
- 6:18Speaker 3: Like we've grown up with a barbecue in our backyard.
- 6:21Speaker 3: We would sometimes like, you know, have a burger or
- 6:24Speaker 3: do like a barbecue chicken or something.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I don't know. I was like, why is it? I go, oh,
- 6:30Speaker 2: this is just like pre-made food. Why is everyone so
- 6:33Speaker 2: like crazy about it?
- 6:35Speaker 3: I get this pulled pork sandwich wrapped up in the
- 6:39Speaker 3: foil and like literally brought tears to my eyes.
- 6:43Speaker 2: I was like, now I get it. Now I don't
- 6:45Speaker 2: know what they do. I don't know if it's like,
- 6:47Speaker 2: you know.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Being basted for 72 hours straight. I don't know why
- 6:51Speaker 3: it tastes so much better than anything I've ever had. But,
- 6:56Speaker 3: and it's like a huge store and they have desserts
- 6:59Speaker 3: and they have like groceries.
- 7:00Speaker 2: I don't know. They have clothes.
- 7:01Speaker 3: I wish I would have bought a Bucky shirt. I
- 7:04Speaker 3: guess it's only in Texas. Then as we're leaving, they
- 7:06Speaker 3: have all these funny signs. That are like, Bucky's giving
- 7:09Speaker 3: main character energy. Bucky's, that food really slaps. Bucky's, like, really, like, clever,
- 7:16Speaker 3: cute things. Anyway, I just had to say, that was
- 7:19Speaker 3: just fabulous. So then we get to Austin, and I
- 7:22Speaker 3: have my last show, and we did stay at a
- 7:26Speaker 3: very cute Marriott called The Proper.
- 7:29Speaker 2: It's a proper hotel. I think it's Marriott. Very cute.
- 7:34Speaker 2: But the heat was... I couldn't believe it.
- 7:37Speaker 3: And then when we get out of my show, there
- 7:39Speaker 3: is the pride parade happening. I mean, could, could Austin
- 7:43Speaker 3: be any greater? Like it was, I came out and
- 7:46Speaker 3: it was just like, people were cheering for me. They
- 7:48Speaker 3: really weren't, but I just pretended like they were. So
- 7:51Speaker 3: all my people got to then go and enjoy the
- 7:53Speaker 3: pride parade after my show. Cause I got out like
- 7:55Speaker 3: eight 45. So we go back to the hotel, have
- 7:59Speaker 3: a beautiful dinner and have so much fun. And then
- 8:02Speaker 3: the next day, We get on these electric bikes from
- 8:06Speaker 3: the proper hotel. And it's still kind of breezy. It's
- 8:10Speaker 3: not like scorching hot yet. And we ride our bikes
- 8:13Speaker 3: around this lake. And I am like, I get the–
- 8:17Speaker 3: I get why everyone left here, L.A., and went to Austin.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I totally get it. Drake was like, everyone's a fitness model, Mom.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Like everybody looked so happy. And so healthy and like
- 8:30Speaker 3: jogging and running around. And then there's all these like
- 8:34Speaker 3: brand new, like very chic, like apartment buildings everywhere.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know.
- 8:41Speaker 3: I was like, Drake, if you get a job or
- 8:42Speaker 3: something and you have an opportunity to move to Austin,
- 8:44Speaker 3: maybe you just want to do this as like a
- 8:45Speaker 3: young person. Like this is it felt like a very young, hip,
- 8:50Speaker 3: like delicious food town.
- 8:51Speaker 2: So then we ride.
- 8:53Speaker 3: And all of a sudden I'm like, hear this music.
- 8:56Speaker 3: And it's this like all inclusive. I don't know what
- 8:59Speaker 3: kind of a Christian church. And they're like right in
- 9:02Speaker 3: front of like where all the other like bars and
- 9:03Speaker 3: stuff are. But it's a Christian band like singing about Jesus.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I'm like, hold on, stop.
- 9:08Speaker 2: And I stopped. I'm like crying. I'm like, this has
- 9:11Speaker 2: been the greatest weekend of my life.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I just can't get enough of how cute this is.
- 9:16Speaker 2: So thank you, Texas. I'm glad you had a good time.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I had a better time.
- 9:22Speaker 3: The heat is something I couldn't understand how it never
- 9:26Speaker 3: cooled at night. That was a little strange. Other than that, though,
- 9:30Speaker 3: I think you're killing it, everybody in Texas. Killing it
- 9:36Speaker 3: is an understatement for the greatest thing that happened in
- 9:40Speaker 3: the 24 Summer Olympics, and that is the Australian breakdancer.
- 9:45Speaker 3: I mean, when I— first, it was— I follow my friend, comedian,
- 9:50Speaker 3: Miss Pat. And she was the first person who posted this.
- 9:54Speaker 2: And I'm like, what?
- 9:55Speaker 3: This cannot be real. I'm like, wait, there's breakdancing in
- 9:59Speaker 3: the Olympics. And this woman, she's Australian. She's wearing a
- 10:04Speaker 3: green suit.
- 10:06Speaker 2: And it is so it's so bad. Like the moves
- 10:10Speaker 2: are so weird.
- 10:10Speaker 3: So I'm like, I have to investigate. Like, how did
- 10:12Speaker 3: she even get on the team? So she studied jazz
- 10:16Speaker 3: and ballroom. She has been breakdancing for years. Her husband
- 10:20Speaker 3: got her into it. She's also a professor. But the
- 10:25Speaker 3: breakdancing is awful. It literally looked like if I tried
- 10:28Speaker 3: to be a breakdancer. She's just kind of rolling around.
- 10:31Speaker 3: And then she's doing this little move that they're calling
- 10:32Speaker 3: the kangaroo move because she is Australian.
- 10:35Speaker 2: And it went completely viral.
- 10:37Speaker 3: And Chloe from Saturday Night Live, who I absolutely love,
- 10:41Speaker 3: Chloe is crazy as her Instagram. She was the first
- 10:44Speaker 3: person to get in the outfit and do the dance.
- 10:47Speaker 3: And I'm laughing about it, just thinking about it.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Like, it is insane. But I also think, like, how great.
- 10:52Speaker 3: And she, I guess she's sort of now, like, defending it.
- 10:56Speaker 3: And she said, look, like, I knew I was not
- 10:58Speaker 3: going to win with these judges because there are such
- 11:03Speaker 3: talented B-girls, which is called the breakdancing girls. This is
- 11:06Speaker 3: the first year ever to have this in the Summer Olympics.
- 11:08Speaker 3: She's like, and part of it is creativity. So I
- 11:10Speaker 3: just tried to be more creative with my moves. But
- 11:13Speaker 3: just the fact that she's like, Australian and older. And
- 11:17Speaker 3: it just, I just felt it was a Saturday Night
- 11:20Speaker 3: Live sketch. I couldn't even believe it. And it made,
- 11:23Speaker 3: it was my favorite part of the 24 Olympics. And
- 11:26Speaker 3: I think it's great. And I hope she embraces it
- 11:28Speaker 3: and loves it. She's our Hawk Tuohy girl. Enjoy your
- 11:31Speaker 3: 15 minutes of fame.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I love you.
- 11:35Speaker 3: The Olympic swimmers were drinking Coca-Cola to protect themselves from
- 11:39Speaker 3: the bacteria in the Seine River. So they did have
- 11:42Speaker 3: to do the race. Two of the people got really sick.
- 11:46Speaker 3: But of course, they're like, well, we don't know if
- 11:48Speaker 3: it's because you ate, you know, inhaled some fecal matter
- 11:51Speaker 3: while you're swimming in this river. People said it's been,
- 11:54Speaker 3: you know, disgusting for years. They can't believe that they
- 11:57Speaker 3: ever even thought that someone could swim in it. And
- 12:00Speaker 3: I'm like, well, it kind of freaks me out that
- 12:02Speaker 3: we're drinking Coke, that they're drinking Coca-Cola to protect themselves.
- 12:05Speaker 3: But I guess there's something in Coca-Cola that can keep
- 12:09Speaker 3: a virus from from you getting a virus. So I
- 12:12Speaker 3: don't know if this is going to make People realize
- 12:14Speaker 3: Coca-Cola isn't.
- 12:15Speaker 2: That bad for you. I don't know.
- 12:17Speaker 3: I have gotten more into Diet Coke lately. I used
- 12:21Speaker 3: to love it. I used to have one every day
- 12:23Speaker 3: for lunch. Then I took a big break from it,
- 12:25Speaker 3: and now I'm kind of getting back into it.
- 12:26Speaker 2: And I don't know.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Now I feel like this makes me feel less guilty
- 12:30Speaker 3: about it in case I swim in the ocean or something.
- 12:34Speaker 2: This is a bummer.
- 12:35Speaker 3: This girl on our American team, Jordan Chiles, she– She
- 12:43Speaker 3: might lose her bronze medal. It's very confusing kind of
- 12:46Speaker 3: what happened.
- 12:47Speaker 2: She's very devastated. It's sad.
- 12:50Speaker 3: But basically what happened is they said, let me read
- 12:55Speaker 3: this to you.
- 12:55Speaker 2: So the U.S.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Gymnastics submitted a video evidence to the court of arbitration
- 13:00Speaker 3: for the sport, and they claim proves that Jordan Chili's
- 13:04Speaker 3: inquiry into her score at the Paris was submitted within
- 13:07Speaker 3: the required time. So what happened is the inquiry had
- 13:10Speaker 3: initially raised the score in the women's floor exercise final,
- 13:13Speaker 3: earning her that bronze medal. But then the Romanian Olympic
- 13:17Speaker 3: Committee protested, arguing that the inquiry was submitted four seconds
- 13:22Speaker 3: too late. And then they ruled in favor of the Romanian,
- 13:26Speaker 3: leading to her losing her medal. So hopefully now, this
- 13:30Speaker 3: is the latest one, just this morning by People magazine.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Hopefully she will get it.
- 13:37Speaker 3: But then I feel kind of bad for the Romanian
- 13:38Speaker 3: girl who now thinks that she got it. And I mean,
- 13:42Speaker 3: it's not they can't just give everybody a medal. But
- 13:45Speaker 3: she went off of social media and she was just
- 13:48Speaker 3: like devastated this Jordan.
- 13:51Speaker 2: And so that was like that was a sad part.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Australian break dancer. Fun part. This is a sad part.
- 13:57Speaker 2: And the people getting sick.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Also, this Australian guy got arrested for trying to buy cocaine.
- 14:03Speaker 2: From a Paris teenager. So he got caught and he said,
- 14:06Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 14:07Speaker 3: But you know, I'm not a fan of cocaine or anything,
- 14:10Speaker 3: but he probably was done with his competition and whatever.
- 14:16Speaker 3: It wasn't a good look, but he is good looking.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Okay.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Travis Scott was also arrested. They had video of him
- 14:23Speaker 3: being arrested. He got in a fight with his own bodyguard,
- 14:26Speaker 3: a physical fight with his own bodyguard in this hotel.
- 14:29Speaker 3: So the police were called. And they arrested him, but
- 14:32Speaker 3: they didn't keep him in prison. And he recently was
- 14:34Speaker 3: arrested for something else in Miami. Of course, the ongoing
- 14:41Speaker 3: lawsuits of the horrible thing that happened in Astroworld is
- 14:44Speaker 3: still around. But this doesn't seem like maybe it's that
- 14:49Speaker 3: big of a deal.
- 14:50Speaker 2: So that's another thing that happened.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Then we get to the finale, the final ceremonies. And
- 14:57Speaker 3: Tom Cruise like went off. where it was like he
- 15:01Speaker 3: did one of his stunts, and he high-fived a bunch
- 15:04Speaker 3: of the Olympians, and then he gets on a motorcycle
- 15:09Speaker 3: with the flag, and he delivers it to our mayor,
- 15:12Speaker 3: Karen Bass, and Simone Biles is also standing there to say, we're.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Going to have the next Olympics. So that was cool.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Also, InTouch is saying that he wants to allegedly, InTouch
- 15:23Speaker 3: has a scoop, that Tom Cruise wants to have another
- 15:26Speaker 3: child and put his roots down in the UK.
- 15:29Speaker 2: I don't know if this is true or not.
- 15:31Speaker 3: He's 62 years old, but, you know, he could totally
- 15:35Speaker 3: have a whole other family. I mean, didn't like Al
- 15:38Speaker 3: Pacino or Robert De Niro each. I think they both
- 15:40Speaker 3: just had a baby at 80, so whatever. I don't
- 15:42Speaker 3: recommend it, but interesting story. Now, I am very, very
- 15:48Speaker 3: excited about the 2018 Olympics in Los Angeles. I don't
- 15:54Speaker 3: mean to brag, but I'm going to. I am a
- 15:55Speaker 3: native Angeleno, okay? I was born at St. Joseph's in Burbank,
- 16:01Speaker 3: and I've lived here my whole life, and I told
- 16:03Speaker 3: you before I got to go to the 84 Olympics.
- 16:06Speaker 2: So I think it's pretty cool for those people like.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Me who went to the 84 Olympics, and now we're
- 16:11Speaker 3: going to have the opportunity to go to the 28 Olympics.
- 16:14Speaker 3: And I feel like these 28 Olympics is our reward
- 16:18Speaker 3: as Los Angeles people for That we did not leave L.A.
- 16:23Speaker 2: We did not abandon it.
- 16:24Speaker 3: When we were suffering these last years of just not
- 16:29Speaker 3: being run well and seeing a lot of disgusting stuff.
- 16:32Speaker 3: But we stuck it out. We didn't move to Austin
- 16:36Speaker 3: with everybody else from L.A. We did not join the
- 16:39Speaker 3: caravan of Teslas from L.A.
- 16:40Speaker 4: To Austin.
- 16:41Speaker 2: We stayed here.
- 16:43Speaker 3: And now we are going to benefit from it because
- 16:46Speaker 3: now they for the next. Four years, they have got
- 16:50Speaker 3: to get our situation correct with the homeless and the
- 16:54Speaker 3: mental health and the drug problems that we're having here
- 16:57Speaker 3: in the streets. And hopefully those people will benefit and
- 17:00Speaker 3: everyone will benefit. And then you'll benefit because then you'll
- 17:04Speaker 3: come here and it's just going to be fabulous. I mean,
- 17:09Speaker 3: when I got home, And I landed in LAX yesterday.
- 17:13Speaker 3: I was like the breeze, the weather. I was like, wow,
- 17:16Speaker 3: these Olympics are going to be a lot better than
- 17:20Speaker 3: the Paris ones because it's LA and they're doing all
- 17:24Speaker 3: these different venues. And I just think it's going to
- 17:29Speaker 3: be fabulous. I am going to have a show.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Okay.
- 17:32Speaker 3: So get, get, I don't know when, but I'm going
- 17:35Speaker 3: to have a show in LA during those two weeks.
- 17:37Speaker 3: I just, that is what's going to happen. Hopefully it
- 17:40Speaker 3: won't fall on like the gymnastics tickets or whatever. I'm
- 17:44Speaker 3: going to attend it. I am going to be the
- 17:47Speaker 3: face of the Olympics along with Snoop Dogg. So Snoop
- 17:49Speaker 3: Dogg comes out and they perform right there. And it
- 17:55Speaker 3: just chills. I mean, I love that he was the
- 17:57Speaker 3: hype man for the. for the Olympics, but especially for
- 18:01Speaker 3: the gymnastics team. I thought that was so cute. And
- 18:04Speaker 3: then he comes up and joins his friend, Dr. Drew,
- 18:07Speaker 3: and they basically just chills, you know, with their hit songs.
- 18:10Speaker 3: It's just people my age and all ages. It's like
- 18:13Speaker 3: when they did the Superbowl, just get, get excited people.
- 18:17Speaker 3: I think it's going to be, I think we are
- 18:20Speaker 3: going to have a lot to prove and I think
- 18:22Speaker 3: we're going to succeed. So if this is too much
- 18:25Speaker 3: Toxic positivity for you. I'm sorry, but I finally want
- 18:29Speaker 3: to brag about being from L.A.
- 18:31Speaker 2: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 18:34Speaker 2: for it? This exclusive place that Dad has connections with.
- 18:37Speaker 5: They have more cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 18:40Speaker 2: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 18:42Speaker 2: It's Dune ADL.
- 18:45Speaker 4: Where?
- 18:46Speaker 2: Dune ADL. There's an accent on the E. Do you mean... Yes,
- 18:51Speaker 2: I got it on Dune Deal Cars.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Lift?
- 18:53Speaker 3: Please.
- 18:54Speaker 2: You going past Kimmage? Oh, Kimmage?
- 18:57Speaker 4: No.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Done deal cars. You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 19:02Speaker 4: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 19:05Speaker 4: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 19:08Speaker 4: have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have found a
- 19:12Speaker 4: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 19:15Speaker 5: Life is one long lesson of chaos.
- 19:18Speaker 2: I'm heading to the Emmys, and I have police complaints
- 19:21Speaker 2: filed against me. When your free will is about to
- 19:23Speaker 2: be taken from you, what would you.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Do if it was given back?
- 19:26Speaker 4: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 19:29Speaker 4: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 19:31Speaker 2: He said, I have a work dad.
- 19:32Speaker 4: I need a home dad. What happens next?
- 19:35Speaker 2: When I came in, he started crying.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 19:41Speaker 4: those hard moments that they go through.
- 19:43Speaker 2: It's about what happens next. I decided to risk it all.
- 19:46Speaker 2: I realized how valuable every day was.
- 19:48Speaker 6: You're worth the work.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Listen. Dar, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 19:51Speaker 2: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 19:53Speaker 4: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 20:07Speaker 2: Okay, look how cute he is. All right, here we go.
- 20:11Speaker 3: New movie out that I was not aware of this book.
- 20:16Speaker 3: It's called It Ends With Us. And there's a little
- 20:21Speaker 3: controversy with it. It looks like it's very good. It
- 20:25Speaker 3: was based on a hit, hit book.
- 20:28Speaker 2: And I looked at the trailer and I was like,
- 20:31Speaker 2: what is this about? I was not aware of what
- 20:33Speaker 2: the book was about.
- 20:35Speaker 3: And it looked like this character, Blake Lively, falls in
- 20:39Speaker 3: love with this guy. And then maybe there's this other
- 20:41Speaker 3: guy that she's sort of thinking about, but then she
- 20:44Speaker 3: goes back to the original guy and she has a
- 20:47Speaker 3: baby and you're like, okay, so this is just a
- 20:50Speaker 3: beautiful love story.
- 20:51Speaker 2: That is what I thought.
- 20:52Speaker 3: And I'm like, what's the secret behind this book? So
- 20:56Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm going to ruin it for myself. And
- 20:59Speaker 3: I'm not really ruining it for you though. So I
- 21:00Speaker 3: look up Wikipedia. What is the plot of this book? Well,
- 21:05Speaker 3: it ends with us OK, if you don't want to know,
- 21:08Speaker 3: but I think you should, because based on a book
- 21:10Speaker 3: is about this woman. It's her her life about how
- 21:15Speaker 3: her mom was a victim of domestic violence. And then
- 21:18Speaker 3: she went and met this guy and got married and
- 21:20Speaker 3: had a daughter. And she went back and forth with
- 21:23Speaker 3: him a few times and finally was like.
- 21:26Speaker 2: It ends with us, meaning it ends with myself and
- 21:28Speaker 2: this daughter. Goodbye. She left him. And the whole thing
- 21:32Speaker 2: was ending the cycle of domestic violence.
- 21:35Speaker 5: And.
- 21:36Speaker 3: So the direct, so Blake Lively is the star and
- 21:39Speaker 3: the producer and the director and the co-star is Justin Baldoni,
- 21:45Speaker 3: who says, I was so excited. Um, I hadn't even
- 21:49Speaker 3: finished the book before I went and, you know, wanted
- 21:51Speaker 3: to be part of making this a movie. And so
- 21:55Speaker 3: the controversy is it's kind of like, um, when Olivia
- 21:58Speaker 3: Wilde was doing her movie where she directed it and was,
- 22:02Speaker 3: had a part in it, which was, um, um, Don't
- 22:06Speaker 3: worry about it, darling. The press wasn't, they weren't all
- 22:09Speaker 3: together with the press. So people are like, what is
- 22:11Speaker 3: the deal with this? And they believe that it's because
- 22:15Speaker 3: these commercials and everything are more rom-com or romantic because
- 22:21Speaker 3: the goal is to sell the tickets and they're not
- 22:23Speaker 3: really sharing in the trailer what the movie is really about,
- 22:26Speaker 3: which is the important lesson. And so Justin, who's the
- 22:31Speaker 3: star opposite Blake, but also the director was like, you know,
- 22:36Speaker 3: we always talk about being, you know, oh, we're just
- 22:40Speaker 3: Hollywood artists and we're not curing cancer.
- 22:42Speaker 2: We're here just to entertain.
- 22:44Speaker 3: And he goes, but I believe when I chose to
- 22:47Speaker 3: jump on this project that this could actually, having people
- 22:50Speaker 3: see this movie, it could actually really make a difference
- 22:53Speaker 3: all around for the future of people that suffer from this.
- 22:57Speaker 3: And so he, I guess, is upset of the way
- 23:01Speaker 3: the movie's been cut and portrayed and promoted and And
- 23:06Speaker 3: like I said, I had no idea that when I
- 23:10Speaker 3: heard it ends with us and I saw Blake Lively
- 23:12Speaker 3: in her dress that was originally worn by Britney Spears
- 23:16Speaker 3: and there's flowers on the red carpet.
- 23:19Speaker 2: And I really did.
- 23:21Speaker 3: I just thought it was like a really, and I
- 23:22Speaker 3: was like, this doesn't even look juicy from the trailer.
- 23:25Speaker 2: I'm like, what's the juicy thing?
- 23:27Speaker 3: How does it end with us? I just felt, I
- 23:29Speaker 3: thought it ends with us, meaning we end up together.
- 23:32Speaker 3: But no, she means she and her daughter end up
- 23:34Speaker 3: together and away from this pattern of violence through generations.
- 23:39Speaker 3: So I thought that was interesting, and I definitely want
- 23:43Speaker 3: to see the movie now. Now, this is a sad
- 23:48Speaker 3: but interesting story to tell. This influencer named Candace Miller
- 23:54Speaker 3: is finally breaking her silence. This is very sad, but
- 23:59Speaker 3: her real estate mogul husband, Brandon Miller, had sex. ended
- 24:06Speaker 3: his life, time on earth, himself. So it's really a story.
- 24:15Speaker 3: And it's so interesting because when this happens, and it
- 24:19Speaker 3: happens with men sometimes where it seems to have a
- 24:23Speaker 3: real reason why they chose to do this. And this
- 24:26Speaker 3: one was financial. And I just think that's so heartbreaking
- 24:29Speaker 3: when anybody... doesn't see that this can't be fixed or whatever.
- 24:35Speaker 3: The devastation of like, if I can't continue to provide
- 24:38Speaker 3: this life for myself and my family, then I'm worth nothing.
- 24:41Speaker 3: So basically, they were this fabulous New York couple. And
- 24:45Speaker 3: with two cute kids, all attractive, he was in finance
- 24:48Speaker 3: and real estate development. They had a $ 9 million.
- 24:52Speaker 2: House in New York. They had a Hamptons house they
- 24:56Speaker 2: were renting.
- 24:58Speaker 3: They went on lavish trips, and her influencing her content,
- 25:05Speaker 3: she has since removed her social media. But what it
- 25:08Speaker 3: was was a lot of luxury trips, fabulous parties, beautiful clothes, makeup.
- 25:15Speaker 3: I bought this bag, unboxing, you know, this designer thing,
- 25:20Speaker 3: in which she gained a lot of followers because a
- 25:21Speaker 3: lot of people just like to escape and see that
- 25:23Speaker 3: kind of luxury and beauty aesthetic.
- 25:26Speaker 2: So– He.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Now the word is that she that he did keep
- 25:31Speaker 3: this these financial troubles from her. One was they did
- 25:35Speaker 3: sell the house for nine million, but then they went
- 25:37Speaker 3: to a rental for forty seven thousand a month. That
- 25:40Speaker 3: was forty five hundred square feet. So they still had
- 25:43Speaker 3: to come up with that payment. So it wasn't exactly
- 25:45Speaker 3: a big step down. And then he borrowed money from
- 25:52Speaker 3: a very good longtime friend, like a short term loan
- 25:55Speaker 3: of a million dollars. and to finish this real estate
- 25:58Speaker 3: development deal. And the friend, inquiring about his money, found
- 26:03Speaker 3: out that the deal had already moved hands to somebody else.
- 26:07Speaker 3: So there was no way in him finishing the project
- 26:10Speaker 3: and this guy getting his $ 1 million back. So that
- 26:13Speaker 3: long-term friendship ended, and this guy was out $ 1 million,
- 26:16Speaker 3: and Brandon Miller still was like, I've lost a best friend,
- 26:19Speaker 3: and I still have to pay him. And it's just
- 26:21Speaker 3: the catch-up, the catch-up. Now, this isn't, you know, this
- 26:24Speaker 3: happened with Bernie Madox. and with the Ponzi scheme and
- 26:28Speaker 3: his son ending his time on earth. And it just
- 26:33Speaker 3: is so awful. So then he said to his wife,
- 26:36Speaker 3: according to friends, everything's going to be fine. I I'm
- 26:40Speaker 3: fixing it. This loan is getting taken care of. We're
- 26:43Speaker 3: going to fix all this stuff. I can't go on
- 26:45Speaker 3: the trip to with you to the Amalfi coast, but
- 26:48Speaker 3: you go ahead. And so she went ahead and she's
- 26:52Speaker 3: staying at the $ 2, 000 a night hotel in the Amalfi coast.
- 26:55Speaker 3: And that's when he, um, took ended it in his
- 26:59Speaker 3: garage in his car and um i believe like a
- 27:03Speaker 3: an alarm went off and that's how they found it
- 27:05Speaker 3: so i just was like this is just now i
- 27:09Speaker 3: think this has happened throughout history i mean when we
- 27:12Speaker 3: heard that people were jumping out of buildings when the
- 27:15Speaker 3: stock market crashed in the 20s in the 1920s over
- 27:18Speaker 3: 100 years ago it's just so sad when it's something
- 27:23Speaker 3: that is like a financial fixable thing. And it always
- 27:26Speaker 3: will be fixable. I mean, he wasn't looking at prison time.
- 27:29Speaker 3: He was just looking at an embarrassing situation of maybe,
- 27:33Speaker 3: maybe they wouldn't, maybe they wouldn't have, maybe they couldn't
- 27:35Speaker 3: stay in the Hamptons. Maybe they couldn't stay in New York.
- 27:38Speaker 3: I'm sure she's absolutely devastated. I'm sure she's just like,
- 27:41Speaker 3: what the, I need to rethink everything. But maybe this
- 27:45Speaker 3: could be a lesson to anybody that's hearing this story
- 27:48Speaker 3: or you're aware of it, that the appearances don't matter.
- 27:52Speaker 3: And please like, Make it very aware to everybody and
- 27:55Speaker 3: all your loved ones that whatever they're in, not to
- 27:57Speaker 3: hide things from people and not to think that this
- 28:00Speaker 3: just can't be fixed. And, you know, it's just awful.
- 28:06Speaker 3: So that I wanted to share that thing. Now, this
- 28:10Speaker 3: I don't believe that this girl is doing this for real.
- 28:13Speaker 3: This comes from the sun. And this beauty influencer says
- 28:17Speaker 3: she uses poop as a face mask to prevent aging.
- 28:21Speaker 3: It got like 700,000 views where she's just like, get
- 28:25Speaker 3: ready with me while I shit on my own face.
- 28:27Speaker 3: I don't know what the fuck, but she does it.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Now who, who knows what the video was? I didn't
- 28:33Speaker 3: want to look at it. I don't, I'm guessing this
- 28:36Speaker 3: is fake. I'm guessing this is fake. And I think
- 28:39Speaker 3: now people have to realize, and I've been taken a
- 28:41Speaker 3: number of times about thinking that somebody putting a video
- 28:45Speaker 3: on it's real. And it's almost like they're trolling themselves.
- 28:49Speaker 3: Like they're, they're, um, rage baiting or trying to get
- 28:52Speaker 3: people upset or just trying to get the views even
- 28:55Speaker 3: though people think you're disgusting you did a poopoo and
- 28:58Speaker 3: like mixed it with like mayonnaise and put it on
- 29:01Speaker 3: your face like i don't she doesn't care because she
- 29:03Speaker 3: got the views and whatever that's what i think maybe
- 29:06Speaker 3: it was real but of course people and doctors waited
- 29:08Speaker 3: and said there's no way this is good for anybody
- 29:12Speaker 3: I mean, look what happened to the people swimming in
- 29:14Speaker 3: the Paris River if, in fact, they ingest anything like that.
- 29:19Speaker 3: It gets you completely sick. So you certainly don't want
- 29:21Speaker 3: it on your face. So speaking of which, so I
- 29:27Speaker 3: talked about the Nara Smith. That is the beautiful model
- 29:32Speaker 3: that does the videos on Instagram, has 10 million followers.
- 29:35Speaker 3: She has a beautiful husband named Lucky.
- 29:37Speaker 2: They're stunning.
- 29:38Speaker 3: They're real legit models. Very young, like 25. They have
- 29:41Speaker 3: three kids together. And her videos, you can't stop watching
- 29:47Speaker 3: them because she's so stunning. And she, you know, gets
- 29:50Speaker 3: in her beautiful outfit. She wears Chanel and this and that.
- 29:54Speaker 6: And she says, today my toddlers stumbled into my room
- 29:58Speaker 6: and said they were craving... Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal. I
- 30:02Speaker 6: didn't feel like going to the store, so I made
- 30:03Speaker 6: it from scratch.
- 30:04Speaker 2: And then she shows you where it's lit, and she
- 30:07Speaker 2: has every.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Ingredient and how to make it. And I said, I
- 30:11Speaker 3: believe that she has a team behind her, and I
- 30:14Speaker 3: think this is a whole way to build a brand
- 30:16Speaker 3: or just to get people, just to have a huge
- 30:17Speaker 3: following on social media that can lead to other things
- 30:21Speaker 3: because she is stunning, and she does know her way
- 30:24Speaker 3: around a kitchen, whether people are helping her or not.
- 30:27Speaker 3: people feel like she is trolling herself that this was
- 30:31Speaker 3: never meant to be taken seriously that she was doing
- 30:36Speaker 3: the trad wife thing and did it in a way
- 30:39Speaker 3: whether they do it themselves or with the team but
- 30:42Speaker 3: clearly she's not making jolly ranchers from scratch when there's
- 30:45Speaker 3: no camera around okay like whatever so now she she
- 30:49Speaker 3: has never responded to any comments or anything really keeping
- 30:54Speaker 3: her persona clean for a marketing team to just make
- 30:59Speaker 3: her a Martha Stewart of our time or whatever this
- 31:03Speaker 3: plan might be in a much quicker amount of time.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Side note, like Meghan Markle, she supposedly had that jam,
- 31:12Speaker 3: the American, I don't remember, it was such a long,
- 31:15Speaker 3: weird name, but it was something about the orchards, American
- 31:19Speaker 3: Orchard Farm Time, whatever. And she had this jam that
- 31:22Speaker 3: she said took some influence, and we haven't heard about
- 31:23Speaker 3: the jam since. And the word on the street is
- 31:26Speaker 3: that she's going to really try to build her Martha
- 31:29Speaker 3: Stewart type brand. But to remind people about Martha Stewart,
- 31:33Speaker 3: Martha Stewart was this, you know, former model. And she's
- 31:38Speaker 3: very attractive, too. But she was like a mom, like
- 31:39Speaker 3: raising her kids. And she was like she made her
- 31:42Speaker 3: own recipes, her own cooking and all this stuff before
- 31:45Speaker 3: she ever had a show. And she was thinking of
- 31:48Speaker 3: all these unique things like, why don't I stencil my
- 31:50Speaker 3: own hardwood floors, which. At the time, you're like, yeah,
- 31:53Speaker 3: why don't I? And now you're like, why would you
- 31:54Speaker 3: do that?
- 31:55Speaker 2: But whatever. It was things. It was all these different
- 31:57Speaker 2: crafts and things. And she built this whole empire.
- 32:00Speaker 3: And so people are like, you can't expect to, like,
- 32:03Speaker 3: skip all these steps forward, whether you're Meghan Markle or this.
- 32:06Speaker 2: Girl, Nara Smith. But, you know, you can.
- 32:09Speaker 3: You can skip a bunch of steps because you don't
- 32:11Speaker 3: have to have a network of your own TV show
- 32:14Speaker 3: where you're on every day at 9 a.m.
- 32:16Speaker 2: After the morning show. No, you can do this.
- 32:19Speaker 4: So.
- 32:21Speaker 3: So finally she did speak up, but by not speaking
- 32:25Speaker 3: up before and not really clapping back, she has this
- 32:28Speaker 3: clean slate for anybody when they look to her to, hey,
- 32:33Speaker 3: we want you to be our spokesperson for this cream
- 32:35Speaker 3: or whatever. She does do a lot of products and
- 32:38Speaker 3: a lot of brand partnerships on her Instagram and TikTok.
- 32:44Speaker 3: But she just said, you know, I don't understand what
- 32:47Speaker 3: people are hating on us, which that was about it.
- 32:50Speaker 2: But she did finally.
- 32:51Speaker 3: Kind of speak up because she did an interview. But
- 32:55Speaker 3: what I think is good is that she's not like
- 32:57Speaker 3: clapping back and she's kind of laughing. And anyway, you know,
- 33:02Speaker 3: I'm seeing more of it. And I think it's kind
- 33:04Speaker 3: of an interesting trend. And also I fell for it.
- 33:07Speaker 3: I really thought this like chick was kind of real.
- 33:10Speaker 3: And I saw all the parodies that people were doing.
- 33:13Speaker 2: And now I just realized she's just, She was in
- 33:16Speaker 2: on the joke all along. Okay.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Exciting weekend for me because my son made me aware
- 33:22Speaker 3: that White Chicks was the number six trending movie on Netflix.
- 33:27Speaker 3: Unless you've been under a rock and this is the
- 33:30Speaker 3: first time you've listened to Juicy Scoop, I was part
- 33:32Speaker 3: of the Juicy Scoop production. I was a contributing writer
- 33:36Speaker 3: to the movie and also got to play the salesperson.
- 33:41Speaker 3: That was a scene that I– you know, wrote the
- 33:44Speaker 3: first draft of along with all the other Waynes brothers
- 33:46Speaker 3: and other writers they had. And, um, I love that
- 33:50Speaker 3: that's such a hit movie. I love that it is
- 33:52Speaker 3: still great today. And, um, I love when Marlon Waynes
- 33:58Speaker 3: is asked about it. He says the women, the people
- 34:01Speaker 3: who love the movie the most.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Are the white women.
- 34:03Speaker 3: So us parroting them is fine. And I'm like, well,
- 34:06Speaker 3: you did have a white chick consultant. So I think
- 34:08Speaker 3: we did it correctly.
- 34:10Speaker 2: But of course, it was hilarious. I love that it
- 34:12Speaker 2: stands today.
- 34:13Speaker 3: I love that it has new people that just discovered it,
- 34:18Speaker 3: you know, now like young kids and everything. And there's
- 34:21Speaker 3: a lot of really funny lines in there that I
- 34:24Speaker 3: remember exactly who came up with it and how we
- 34:27Speaker 3: thought of it. So maybe I'll do like a little
- 34:30Speaker 3: special Patreon or something about If you're like a White
- 34:34Speaker 3: Chicks fan, if that's something you want, maybe I'll do
- 34:36Speaker 3: just like a little segment of some of the scenes
- 34:39Speaker 3: and how I remember how they came about because it
- 34:42Speaker 3: is such a like a favorite movie. But also, I mean,
- 34:46Speaker 3: what a weekend for Heather MacDonald.
- 34:49Speaker 2: This was sent to me. Peacock, which you could watch
- 34:53Speaker 2: all the Real Housewives back seasons. The Real Housewives of
- 34:57Speaker 2: Orange County, I am.
- 35:02Speaker 3: Now, I don't know how this happened. I don't know
- 35:04Speaker 3: if someone that works at Peacock loves me and knows
- 35:10Speaker 3: that maybe other people hate me. And I hope this
- 35:12Speaker 3: person does not get fired because I'm sure now that
- 35:15Speaker 3: I've brought it up, they probably will be like, how
- 35:18Speaker 3: the hell did that happen? I don't know if it
- 35:20Speaker 3: was a glitch in the matrix, but I am the
- 35:23Speaker 3: face of this episode, which is when Heather Dubrow had
- 35:30Speaker 3: a groundbreaking party filmed to build her mansion, which then
- 35:35Speaker 3: she sold with the Altman brothers from million dollar listing or, um,
- 35:40Speaker 3: you know, for 55 million or groundbreaking price. But this was,
- 35:45Speaker 3: we all wrote these notes in it. And like, I
- 35:48Speaker 3: was like, I hope this, you have wonderful memories in
- 35:50Speaker 3: this house. And then we put it like in the
- 35:51Speaker 3: ground and they had all this fun stuff. And Tamara
- 35:55Speaker 3: went on the, the, um, riding bull and she broke
- 35:59Speaker 3: her wrist and whatever. So anyway, we're featured on it
- 36:03Speaker 3: and Peter's featured on it and Brandon's featured on it,
- 36:05Speaker 3: like eating a donut. And the kids are so little
- 36:09Speaker 3: and people are like, is this a sign?
- 36:12Speaker 2: And I go, I don't know.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Maybe it, maybe it is a sign, but I love
- 36:16Speaker 3: Real Housewives of OC this season. One of the storyline
- 36:19Speaker 3: was this new girl accusing Heather of calling the paparazzi
- 36:26Speaker 3: to take photos of her at Disneyland. Now, because she
- 36:30Speaker 3: denied it is why Tamara and everybody was jumping on it.
- 36:35Speaker 3: And then this girl goes, I know that you did.
- 36:37Speaker 3: I texted this person who's in charge of the paparazzi.
- 36:40Speaker 3: And I'm like, did she call them herself? And that
- 36:42Speaker 3: person said yes. And it wasn't a lot of evidence
- 36:45Speaker 3: to it. But I thought it was so great because
- 36:48Speaker 3: on the last episode, she brings it up to Terry.
- 36:51Speaker 3: And Terry goes, I actually love when paparazzis get photos
- 36:55Speaker 3: of me. So I would like that number and I
- 36:57Speaker 3: would like to call them more often so that I
- 36:59Speaker 3: get to be in the news more often. And she
- 37:02Speaker 3: laughs at him and I totally believe it. And I
- 37:05Speaker 3: thought that was the perfect way for just to like
- 37:08Speaker 3: squash it. Because whether she has the number directly or
- 37:12Speaker 3: her publicist does, or I truly believe there were other
- 37:16Speaker 3: photos that I looked up and they're not super smiling.
- 37:19Speaker 3: They're like talking and like not looking great. So I'm like, look,
- 37:23Speaker 3: paparazzi goes to I think it could be that she
- 37:27Speaker 3: had them be called. And I also think it could
- 37:30Speaker 3: be a random thing because the paparazzi does go to Disneyland. They, they,
- 37:36Speaker 3: I follow a couple accounts that are like celebs at
- 37:39Speaker 3: Disneyland and stuff like that. They probably have a year
- 37:41Speaker 3: round pass and it's worth it for them to, for
- 37:45Speaker 3: a paparazzi to go and walk around. And they probably
- 37:48Speaker 3: have connections with some of the people working there. They're like, Hey,
- 37:51Speaker 3: I'm a tour guide. I've got the Kardashians coming today.
- 37:54Speaker 3: So we'll be at the haunted mansion around one. And
- 37:58Speaker 3: then that guy probably takes a photos, get some photos
- 38:00Speaker 3: of them, makes some money and gives a kickback to
- 38:03Speaker 3: the person at Disneyland. Why would that be so unheard
- 38:06Speaker 3: of that a person who works at Disneyland doesn't also
- 38:08Speaker 3: have a friend who has a decent camera? I'm just
- 38:11Speaker 3: saying the point is I thought Terry handled it great.
- 38:15Speaker 3: And I thought it was funny also in the show. Um,
- 38:20Speaker 3: The main storyline that's really juicy is that Shannon Bedore,
- 38:25Speaker 3: who is divorced, who dated this guy named John Jansen
- 38:28Speaker 3: for four years. And the last thing that happened, which
- 38:34Speaker 3: was not on camera, is that she got intoxicated. She
- 38:38Speaker 3: got behind the wheel after arguing with him at his
- 38:40Speaker 3: house because she had left her phone at this A's restaurant.
- 38:46Speaker 2: And so she gets in her car. And she is
- 38:48Speaker 2: intoxicated and she loses control of the car and it
- 38:50Speaker 2: hits a house. And she parks it down the street
- 38:55Speaker 2: and she gets out and she starts walking her dog.
- 38:57Speaker 2: She probably realized, what the fuck? I was, you know, drunk.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Who knows?
- 39:01Speaker 3: The cops come. She is cooperative. She's worked with the attorney.
- 39:05Speaker 3: She's taken the responsibility. She's done everything she's supposed to do.
- 39:10Speaker 3: And thank God nobody was hurt. So they start filming
- 39:15Speaker 3: after this incident.
- 39:17Speaker 6: And.
- 39:18Speaker 2: She has to address it. She has to talk about it.
- 39:19Speaker 2: She has to cry about it.
- 39:20Speaker 3: She's embarrassed, right? She has since broken up with this guy,
- 39:24Speaker 3: John Jansen. And then he starts dating Alexis Bellino, who
- 39:28Speaker 3: was on several seasons of the show. but a few
- 39:31Speaker 3: years ago. She was married to her husband at the time.
- 39:35Speaker 3: They got divorced. She then, I believe, met somebody else
- 39:38Speaker 3: who was engaged to that person. That engagement didn't go through.
- 39:40Speaker 3: I believe she was on a below deck. And she
- 39:44Speaker 3: meets this John Jansen at a, at the quiet woman,
- 39:48Speaker 3: and they hit it off and they fall in love.
- 39:52Speaker 3: And so they want her back on the show, obviously.
- 39:56Speaker 3: And she's like, sure, why not?
- 39:58Speaker 2: I'm in love.
- 39:59Speaker 3: I call him Johnny J now. I don't call him
- 40:01Speaker 3: John Jansen. I call him Johnny J. And I don't
- 40:06Speaker 3: like that the narrative that was put out there among
- 40:09Speaker 3: the other women in talking about Shannon's relationship is that
- 40:13Speaker 3: Shannon told these other women off camera, like on phone
- 40:16Speaker 3: calls or whatever, the bad things that went on with
- 40:19Speaker 3: their relationship. And it's, and when you're, when you're venting
- 40:23Speaker 3: for to your girlfriend, you, you say things, you know,
- 40:27Speaker 3: maybe you're exaggerating, maybe you're telling the truth, but she
- 40:29Speaker 3: vented about the relationship. And because they had that information,
- 40:32Speaker 3: several of them did not have a good perception of
- 40:37Speaker 3: Johnny J and was like, good, I'm glad you broke
- 40:41Speaker 3: up with him. And she's like, you know, he never
- 40:43Speaker 3: paid for anything. I had to pay for When I
- 40:45Speaker 3: was going to watch What Happens Live, I would pick
- 40:47Speaker 3: up his extra, I'd pick up the plane ticket, whatever.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Who knows what all that is about?
- 40:54Speaker 3: And she complained, she said, I don't know if I
- 40:57Speaker 3: could marry him because I don't know if he's wealthy enough.
- 40:59Speaker 2: I need somebody that can like take care of me.
- 41:02Speaker 3: And so that wasn't a great reflection on him. So
- 41:08Speaker 3: then they get together and now she's on the show.
- 41:12Speaker 3: And Alexis is like, I want people to like him
- 41:15Speaker 3: and I want people to know that he's not like that.
- 41:17Speaker 3: He's barely drinking with me and he's so lovely and
- 41:21Speaker 3: he's very generous. And she, it comes out that he
- 41:26Speaker 3: had lent Shannon or given, Shannon said he gave it
- 41:30Speaker 3: to me. Shannon said I needed, um, 40,000 for a facelift.
- 41:34Speaker 3: And then I needed another 35 for a loan for,
- 41:39Speaker 3: for just living.
- 41:40Speaker 2: Okay.
- 41:41Speaker 3: So then she, I guess, thought it was a gift,
- 41:44Speaker 3: or she's claiming. He always assumed it was a loan.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Once they broke up and Alexis is like, well, you're
- 41:52Speaker 3: not cheap and a deadbeat. You gave her all this money.
- 41:55Speaker 2: This is what I'm assuming. You need to get that
- 41:56Speaker 2: money back.
- 41:58Speaker 3: So he gets an attorney and she gets set with
- 42:02Speaker 3: this letter and she's like, oh my God, okay, I'll
- 42:04Speaker 3: pay you the money. Like I thought it was a
- 42:05Speaker 3: gift because we were dating. I'll pay you the money,
- 42:08Speaker 3: but let's not involve attorneys. And I'll give you the money,
- 42:12Speaker 3: but you can never say a bad thing about me
- 42:13Speaker 3: and I can't say a bad thing about you. And
- 42:15Speaker 3: at that point, I guess he said, I don't want
- 42:18Speaker 3: to have any restrictions on what I can do or
- 42:20Speaker 3: can't do if we're going to settle. I'd rather just
- 42:22Speaker 3: go this way, get my money, and no one's going
- 42:25Speaker 3: to restrict what I say or do because I believe
- 42:27Speaker 3: he really– he's now– now he's a public figure. He's
- 42:32Speaker 3: with a public figure, his new girlfriend. She probably wants
- 42:35Speaker 3: to stay on the show longer. The show is about
- 42:38Speaker 3: all of their relationships together, including Shanna Bedore and whatnot.
- 42:42Speaker 3: So he doesn't want to be silenced. So then Shanna
- 42:44Speaker 3: Bedore goes to her dad and she's like, what should
- 42:46Speaker 3: I do? And he's like, fight it, fight it.
- 42:48Speaker 2: To the end. So this is what we're watching. So
- 42:50Speaker 2: then they go to dinner.
- 42:51Speaker 3: And then Tamara, who was her very good friend, and Vicky,
- 42:56Speaker 3: they were the Trace Amigas, were the Trace Amigas.
- 43:00Speaker 2: And they did this routine and they had this.
- 43:02Speaker 3: Show that was, you know, they would sell out the
- 43:04Speaker 3: shows and they were going to go do all this stuff.
- 43:06Speaker 3: And Tamara says, Tamara says, I don't want to do
- 43:10Speaker 3: the show anymore because it's called The.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Trace of Migos and it's about tequila shots and stuff.
- 43:15Speaker 3: And I can't believe we have a show like in
- 43:17Speaker 3: the next few weeks after this news of Shannon getting
- 43:20Speaker 3: in this accident and everything. And they say, you're out, Tamara.
- 43:26Speaker 3: We're just going to be the dose of Migos. So
- 43:28Speaker 3: now we see them filming. And meanwhile, Tamara has become
- 43:32Speaker 3: close to Alexis and Johnny J. And they go to
- 43:35Speaker 3: dinner together. And it was not– we saw the scene. Now,
- 43:40Speaker 3: this is for the cameras. We know Tamara is a vet.
- 43:43Speaker 3: She knows what the producers want. She knows what the
- 43:46Speaker 3: people at home, whether they say they want it or not,
- 43:48Speaker 3: she knows what they want. And she– it goes on
- 43:52Speaker 3: the offensive because Shannon gets there and she orders a
- 43:57Speaker 3: tequila– no, sorry, a vodka and soda. And– She just
- 44:01Speaker 3: starts going off on her, saying, you're an alcoholic, like
- 44:04Speaker 3: calling her out in front of all these people, in
- 44:06Speaker 3: front of the cameras, in front of the world.
- 44:08Speaker 2: You're an alcoholic.
- 44:09Speaker 3: When you call me, you're drunk. And Shanna's like, why
- 44:12Speaker 3: are you doing this? You've been on this path of
- 44:14Speaker 3: my alcoholism for 10 years. And she's like, because you have.
- 44:17Speaker 3: You've been an alcoholic for 10 years. You call me
- 44:18Speaker 3: at night. You never ask about me. And I'm just
- 44:21Speaker 3: sick of it. And you say these things about how
- 44:24Speaker 3: awful John Jansen was to you. And- I don't believe
- 44:27Speaker 3: it because Alexis says it's different. And then Alexis brings
- 44:30Speaker 3: up the receipts of the wire transfers and all this stuff.
- 44:33Speaker 3: And that, in her opinion, it was in fact alone.
- 44:36Speaker 3: And they're at this dinner and everybody's like, um, so
- 44:41Speaker 3: that's the show. And it turns out, even though Shannon
- 44:46Speaker 3: has struggled and all this stuff, the overwhelming response is
- 44:51Speaker 3: very pro-Shannon response. very anti the behavior that Tamara displayed.
- 44:58Speaker 3: And they don't really care if Tamara had to stay
- 45:00Speaker 3: up late nights and hear exaggerations or untruths. They don't
- 45:05Speaker 3: care that Tamara thought she was doing the right thing
- 45:08Speaker 3: by trying to kill the Trace and Begos. They are like,
- 45:12Speaker 3: Shannon does not deserve to have another lawsuit coming out
- 45:16Speaker 3: of this camp. And she does not deserve to be
- 45:20Speaker 3: suffering like this when she is a single mom.
- 45:22Speaker 2: She isn't dating anyone. She's trying to do herself better.
- 45:26Speaker 3: And it's just really interesting when, you know, kind of
- 45:30Speaker 3: like with the Vanderpump where I think you're in it
- 45:34Speaker 3: and you're filming it and you think you're displaying your
- 45:37Speaker 3: side of it. And you're like, I think when this airs,
- 45:40Speaker 3: Lala and Sheena, people are going to see their side
- 45:43Speaker 3: and they're going to be tired of Ariana.
- 45:44Speaker 2: And the same thing happened. It was like, no, we're
- 45:47Speaker 2: team Ariana.
- 45:48Speaker 3: It could be editing, but it also can just be
- 45:51Speaker 3: you just don't perceive right how these shows affect the
- 45:56Speaker 3: audience that's listening that's predominantly women, and we've all been
- 46:00Speaker 3: through some shit. And so I think that's really what
- 46:02Speaker 3: it is, and I think that's what is very interesting
- 46:05Speaker 3: about the show. Okay, now Real Housewives of New Jersey,
- 46:09Speaker 3: they had this weird kind of reunion. They put the
- 46:12Speaker 3: two groups of women in two different rooms, and they
- 46:15Speaker 3: watched the last episode, which we covered earlier. week, which
- 46:18Speaker 3: was they're at the same restaurant they're eating. And it's
- 46:23Speaker 3: all about how Teresa feels that her new husband, Louis,
- 46:27Speaker 3: has been attacked and people try to burst her love bubble.
- 46:31Speaker 3: And it's like, why are you in a bubble, though?
- 46:33Speaker 3: Why do you want to put your head in the sand,
- 46:36Speaker 3: be in a bubble? Yeah, this is real life now.
- 46:39Speaker 3: And he had several exes. Exes came forward. Exes reached
- 46:44Speaker 3: out to other women. And on the cast and people
- 46:48Speaker 3: and was like, you should know what your girlfriend, Teresa,
- 46:53Speaker 3: is getting involved with. This guy is bad news and
- 46:55Speaker 3: I'm going to tell you and I'm going to give
- 46:56Speaker 3: you the information. She always perceived it as my castmates
- 47:01Speaker 3: that interacted with these exes of Louie's are my enemies
- 47:05Speaker 3: and therefore I hate them and therefore they tried to
- 47:09Speaker 3: ruin my life by sharing stuff from his past. You're
- 47:13Speaker 3: going on a reality show. It's going to come out.
- 47:15Speaker 3: I just don't know why more people aren't taking it as,
- 47:21Speaker 3: maybe I talked to them because I was like, what
- 47:25Speaker 3: are you going to say? You know, how bad is it?
- 47:27Speaker 3: Maybe after I talked to them, I realized it wasn't
- 47:30Speaker 3: as bad. And that's why I never brought it up
- 47:34Speaker 3: on camera or anybody else. I think that's so the
- 47:37Speaker 3: interesting thing about it. But Louis doesn't help himself because
- 47:41Speaker 3: Louis and Teresa have a podcast. And on their last
- 47:45Speaker 3: episode that just came out a few days ago, They
- 47:48Speaker 3: someone cut a clip from the show that was put online.
- 47:51Speaker 3: I don't think they cut this clip. I don't think
- 47:53Speaker 3: this would be the clip they cut. I think someone
- 47:55Speaker 3: watched it, cut their own clip and put it out.
- 47:57Speaker 3: And it's him talking to Teresa. And he's saying, like,
- 48:01Speaker 3: I love that the girls, her daughters, you know, it's like,
- 48:05Speaker 3: do it.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Live free. Wear that thong. Dance on a table at
- 48:08Speaker 2: the club. Show a little leg.
- 48:11Speaker 3: You know, they all had thongs on and greased your
- 48:13Speaker 3: daughters and they looked hot.
- 48:14Speaker 2: They look great. I'm paraphrasing paraphrasing. But that was it.
- 48:19Speaker 3: And the fans of Bravo, whether they love or hate Teresa,
- 48:23Speaker 3: all basically agreed this was really red flag behavior. Now,
- 48:29Speaker 3: I don't know if he's going to try to say
- 48:30Speaker 3: I was saying, you know, I was agreeing with what
- 48:32Speaker 3: Teresa had said in the past. Maybe Teresa had told
- 48:35Speaker 3: the girls wear a thong, dance on tables. I wish
- 48:37Speaker 3: I didn't live such a conservative life in my 20s.
- 48:39Speaker 2: Go have fun.
- 48:40Speaker 3: And he was just like co-signing on it. But it
- 48:43Speaker 3: was coming out of his mouth. And people perceived it
- 48:46Speaker 3: as like, those were the examples you used. You didn't say, hey,
- 48:49Speaker 3: I tell the girls, go travel Europe on your own. Go,
- 48:53Speaker 3: you know, take that funky job. Choose the major that
- 48:56Speaker 3: maybe isn't the guarantee. That's what he could have said
- 48:59Speaker 3: to say, live your life and take the risk that
- 49:02Speaker 3: I didn't take.
- 49:03Speaker 2: But they since have taken.
- 49:06Speaker 3: Down the video or cut out that part of this show.
- 49:10Speaker 2: That's what I've heard.
- 49:11Speaker 3: Page Six picked it up. They talked about it. Everyone
- 49:14Speaker 3: talked about it. We've seen, we come to the end
- 49:17Speaker 3: of the show and um, they're like, well, I.
- 49:21Speaker 2: Guess this is it, you know?
- 49:23Speaker 3: So on one, so this was, so on one side
- 49:26Speaker 3: it was Margaret, Melissa, um, Danielle and, um, Jen Fessler
- 49:33Speaker 3: and this, and yeah. And this other girl, um, What
- 49:39Speaker 3: is her name?
- 49:41Speaker 2: Rachel Fuda. OK, so they're all.
- 49:43Speaker 3: And at the very end, Rachel Fuda goes, and you guys,
- 49:47Speaker 3: I'm pregnant. And then People magazine share the photo. She's
- 49:50Speaker 3: pregnant with her third child, with her husband, and she
- 49:51Speaker 3: has a stepson who she's adopted. And I have to say,
- 49:55Speaker 3: the way the girls, those girls that was in that room,
- 49:58Speaker 3: in the other room, it was Jennifer Aiden, Jackie, Teresa
- 50:02Speaker 3: and Dolores. The girls that got that news, Melissa, Margaret.
- 50:06Speaker 2: Danielle, Jen Fessler and Rachel. And then Rachel gave the news.
- 50:10Speaker 3: I really felt that was a really joyous, honest moment
- 50:14Speaker 3: where you're truly happy for your friend.
- 50:16Speaker 2: You're truly surprised.
- 50:18Speaker 3: And so after seeing that, kind of the thought is,
- 50:23Speaker 3: why can't we have them, those girls, and then maybe
- 50:28Speaker 3: two or three new housewives? I don't know, you know,
- 50:32Speaker 3: because of all the weird darkness. But that the podcast
- 50:36Speaker 3: and everything is not was not good for Teresa and Louie.
- 50:41Speaker 3: And that she just wants to say, why would you
- 50:43Speaker 3: say anything about him?
- 50:45Speaker 2: This is hurting my family.
- 50:46Speaker 3: And it's like, you know, I don't know what to
- 50:49Speaker 3: say to all of it. But that's that's the juice.
- 50:51Speaker 3: And that's why we're talking about it. And I don't
- 50:53Speaker 3: know what's going to happen with New Jersey. But that
- 50:55Speaker 3: is what I think would totally work.
- 50:58Speaker 2: And maybe just.
- 50:59Speaker 3: Give her something else or put her on pause. She's
- 51:01Speaker 3: doing villains. Teresa, I don't know.
- 51:04Speaker 2: We'll see what happens with that.
- 51:06Speaker 3: But it seems like there's been more and more coming
- 51:09Speaker 3: out that would make any woman nervous about their friend
- 51:13Speaker 3: who's with this guy that has so many disgruntled exes
- 51:18Speaker 3: and stories. And, you know, he went on this camp
- 51:22Speaker 3: that came out. That was the warrior video where he's
- 51:26Speaker 3: saying very nice things. to an ex saying, I'm going
- 51:29Speaker 3: to be better in all this. There is an alleged
- 51:31Speaker 3: letter that he wrote about himself to get into the
- 51:34Speaker 3: how to make you a better man camp that admits
- 51:38Speaker 3: a lot of very negative things about himself to get
- 51:40Speaker 3: himself in. We don't know if that's all true. We
- 51:42Speaker 3: don't know if that was just to get him into
- 51:44Speaker 3: the camp. The other person and someone else would say, well,
- 51:46Speaker 3: at least he was trying to better himself and it
- 51:48Speaker 3: just didn't work out with that woman, but he still
- 51:50Speaker 3: benefited from this warrior camp, those videos got out and
- 51:55Speaker 3: people talk. And it's just such a large audience now
- 51:59Speaker 3: that's online and giving opinions, whether it's like me on
- 52:01Speaker 3: a podcast or whatever. And yeah, they can't necessarily get
- 52:06Speaker 3: off of social media either. They make their living being
- 52:11Speaker 3: on it as well and putting their daughters on it
- 52:13Speaker 3: and selling products and sharing their vacations and.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Doing all that. So it's a mess.
- 52:20Speaker 3: Meanwhile, Jax of Vanderpump Rules, he posted this cameo and saying, hey,
- 52:29Speaker 3: you know, if you'd like a cameo for me, that's great.
- 52:32Speaker 3: And the money I make from cameo goes to this
- 52:34Speaker 3: cancer research that his dad had passed from that kind
- 52:37Speaker 3: of cancer. Britney, they've been separated for over five months.
- 52:40Speaker 3: They are now filming The Valley. She posted that video
- 52:44Speaker 3: and said, wrote on it, just realized Jax had this
- 52:48Speaker 3: on his Cameo and it's disgusting because he hasn't donated
- 52:52Speaker 3: a dime for FYI at Cameo. People grabbed that. She
- 52:57Speaker 3: took it down within an hour. It could be that
- 53:00Speaker 3: he was giving the money back three years ago and
- 53:03Speaker 3: this was just part of his advertisement on his Cameo.
- 53:07Speaker 3: She obviously realized it doesn't.
- 53:08Speaker 2: Make her look really good and.
- 53:12Speaker 3: It makes us realize that these two are not in
- 53:15Speaker 3: a good place, that you would do that to your husband.
- 53:18Speaker 3: Because if you're raising your kid together, why would you
- 53:21Speaker 3: call him out like that? Don't you want him to
- 53:24Speaker 3: bring in money as well? Maybe take him to the
- 53:26Speaker 3: side and be like, I just noticed that. I don't
- 53:28Speaker 3: remember you giving any money.
- 53:30Speaker 2: Can you not?
- 53:31Speaker 3: Somebody else is going to get it. It tells me
- 53:32Speaker 3: that they're not communicating at all. Or maybe someone was,
- 53:36Speaker 3: maybe she wasn't thinking. Maybe she, whatever, did it late
- 53:39Speaker 3: at night.
- 53:39Speaker 2: I don't know. So there's a story there.
- 53:43Speaker 3: Meanwhile, Vanderpump's Stassi, who has always been really well liked,
- 53:50Speaker 3: except when she was canceled and kicked off the show,
- 53:54Speaker 3: which that whole story you can look up.
- 53:57Speaker 2: She is back.
- 53:58Speaker 3: She, you know, she'd lost her book deal during that
- 54:01Speaker 3: 2020 time. She got another book. She had another baby.
- 54:06Speaker 3: She got married. She and her husband have now two kids.
- 54:10Speaker 3: She continues with her podcast and she's just very well liked. She's,
- 54:14Speaker 3: you know, very pretty. And she didn't let this that
- 54:19Speaker 3: awful time in her life stop her. And she has
- 54:21Speaker 3: a show on Hulu coming out. That's a comedy docuseries
- 54:25Speaker 3: about her life being funny, I guess, and some funny friends.
- 54:30Speaker 3: And so who knows who are these other people that
- 54:34Speaker 3: are going to.
- 54:34Speaker 2: Be in her life?
- 54:35Speaker 3: I assume she's kind of making her own Vanderpump Rules
- 54:37Speaker 3: or her own valley. with people in her life about
- 54:40Speaker 3: her life, which if Vanderpump Rules doesn't come back, maybe
- 54:44Speaker 3: Stassi and maybe Lala and Sheena can join her or
- 54:50Speaker 3: bounce around or whatever.
- 54:52Speaker 2: Who knows? But people are very excited for that.
- 54:54Speaker 3: And she's going to make a one-time appearance and visit
- 55:00Speaker 3: The villa, which is continuing. Like I said, I had
- 55:02Speaker 3: not heard a lot of buzz about the Hulu show villa,
- 55:05Speaker 3: which is Lisa Vanderpump has a staff helping people in
- 55:09Speaker 3: like a vacation fancy villa hotel, like a boutique hotel
- 55:12Speaker 3: situation or whatever.
- 55:14Speaker 2: And she's going to go and be on that.
- 55:16Speaker 3: It's like a below the deck for a hotel, which
- 55:18Speaker 3: is what they said is going to basically be Dorinda's
- 55:20Speaker 3: show too.
- 55:20Speaker 2: But on Hulu.
- 55:22Speaker 3: I feel like Hulu is grabbing a lot of shows
- 55:26Speaker 3: that would normally would be on Bravo. There is the
- 55:31Speaker 3: new Hulu show about the Mormon TikTok girls. They got
- 55:35Speaker 3: their own show and people have seen those screeners and
- 55:38Speaker 3: they said it is very juicy and good. They're young,
- 55:41Speaker 3: they're beautiful, and it's a unique lifestyle that we have
- 55:43Speaker 3: not seen before. It's a new formula that we haven't
- 55:47Speaker 3: seen before.
- 55:47Speaker 2: So Very interesting.
- 55:49Speaker 3: OK, Taylor Swift ends the Kanye West's number one streak
- 55:53Speaker 3: on the Billboard chart. So she's killing it. She's gone
- 55:58Speaker 3: past him. And I love it when something like this happens.
- 56:00Speaker 3: The comments are like, oh, my God, Taylor, let it go.
- 56:03Speaker 2: Let it go. She's not doing anything. She's merely just succeeding. And,
- 56:09Speaker 2: you know, I.
- 56:11Speaker 3: We should never forget what he did to her when
- 56:13Speaker 3: he jumped up on stage and grabbed her award from her.
- 56:16Speaker 3: And I don't think she'll ever forget it. And as women,
- 56:20Speaker 3: that should be a moment that sticks in our mind
- 56:22Speaker 3: from this generation.
- 56:24Speaker 2: And as like, that was not okay, not cool. And
- 56:28Speaker 2: how she has proceeded.
- 56:30Speaker 3: And as much as she wants, she can bring it
- 56:31Speaker 3: up as much as she wants. She can write as
- 56:33Speaker 3: many songs about it in code or whatever. Boy, talk about,
- 56:38Speaker 3: you know, success being the greatest revenge. And then also,
- 56:43Speaker 3: Ed Kelsey, who is Travis Kelsey's dad, he said he
- 56:48Speaker 3: doesn't like that Kanye, in fact, has included a lyric
- 56:52Speaker 3: about Taylor Swift and his son.
- 56:55Speaker 2: It's just like a little, it's just like a throwaway line.
- 56:58Speaker 2: But he's like, he obviously has mental illness. But he
- 57:02Speaker 2: knows what.
- 57:02Speaker 3: He's doing, too, because I wouldn't even know that he
- 57:05Speaker 3: wrote a song about Taylor Swift unless he, you know,
- 57:08Speaker 3: by putting that in there, then people comment on it.
- 57:11Speaker 3: And so People always wonder if this stuff is like
- 57:14Speaker 3: they're strategically mentioning each other to get press about it. Probably,
- 57:19Speaker 3: but it's probably still both on their minds. And they're
- 57:22Speaker 3: probably like, why not throw it in there? And, I mean,
- 57:24Speaker 3: he knows what gets people talking. And she is the
- 57:27Speaker 3: biggest performing artist right now with the biggest crowds and everything.
- 57:31Speaker 3: So why not talk about it? This can't be good
- 57:36Speaker 3: if Travis has a Tesla because– Tesla is selling karaoke
- 57:43Speaker 3: mics for its cars. So this also can't be good
- 57:48Speaker 3: for my husband, Peter, because I definitely want the karaoke mics.
- 57:51Speaker 3: We have two Teslas and I want to try it,
- 57:54Speaker 3: if anything, just to have you guys.
- 57:57Speaker 2: See me sing in the backseat.
- 58:01Speaker 3: But we all know that Travis likes to do karaoke.
- 58:04Speaker 3: I told you it's a fear of mine that he
- 58:06Speaker 3: will take this singing career to the next level and
- 58:08Speaker 3: that'll really kill it for him and Taylor. But, you know,
- 58:12Speaker 3: all of our biggest fears are coming true. People are
- 58:14Speaker 3: going to be karaoke-ing in your car. Now, I was
- 58:18Speaker 3: once in a Uber. And it wasn't a Tesla. It
- 58:21Speaker 3: was just like a big, like, you know, SUV kind
- 58:25Speaker 3: of thing. And the guy had, like, all the bells
- 58:28Speaker 3: and whistles. You know how sometimes you go in an
- 58:29Speaker 3: Uber and they actually still have, like, the mints and
- 58:31Speaker 3: the waters and the stuff? And he was like, I
- 58:34Speaker 3: have karaoke if you guys want. Like.
- 58:38Speaker 2: And we were like, Oh my God, it's kind of fun.
- 58:40Speaker 2: And we like did a song.
- 58:42Speaker 3: And so I, they probably got the idea from that,
- 58:44Speaker 3: but like, if you're going to, you know, it's like,
- 58:46Speaker 3: they don't need to have those videos when we used
- 58:49Speaker 3: to watch like, Oh, your kids can watch a DVD
- 58:51Speaker 3: or a long car ride. Now everybody has their own iPad.
- 58:53Speaker 3: So why not do something together and truly do carpool karaoke? Um, yeah,
- 59:01Speaker 3: just like, um, what's his name?
- 59:03Speaker 2: James Corden. He's probably pissed about this. Probably like Elon
- 59:06Speaker 2: Musk stole my idea.
- 59:07Speaker 1: Um, Ugh.
- 59:10Speaker 3: More on the astronauts that are stuck in space. So
- 59:15Speaker 3: this couple, they're not a couple. She's a female, he's
- 59:19Speaker 3: a male, and they're married to other people at home.
- 59:22Speaker 3: And it was supposed to be eight days. Now they're
- 59:25Speaker 3: saying they're not going to get home until maybe like
- 59:27Speaker 3: February of 2025. I've talked about how it's my biggest nightmare.
- 59:31Speaker 3: They say it's big. There is room to do other things.
- 59:35Speaker 3: And the woman's husband.
- 59:38Speaker 2: Said, she's fine. She's in her happy place.
- 59:41Speaker 3: She loves it. She just loves looking down on the
- 59:45Speaker 3: blue earth. And they have plenty of food and water.
- 59:48Speaker 3: They have plenty of things to do. They have the internet.
- 59:51Speaker 3: We can FaceTime them.
- 59:52Speaker 2: They are fine.
- 59:54Speaker 3: And the husband the I mean the male astronauts family
- 59:57Speaker 3: is the same they're like he's fine he says and
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: I'm like I wonder like I don't know wonder if
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: the people at home like aren't necessarily missing them but
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: I still think I don't care what the people would
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: tell me and maybe they're smart enough to know that
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: they shouldn't worry but I would be worried I would
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: be worried now I I mean, we've all been just
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: stuck in an airport for a few hours with the delay.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: I panicked so much being stuck in that airport that
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: I got an Uber and drove to Austin.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: So this is why I'm not an astronaut. I never
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: want to be one. But I'm going to be following
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: this case. And then I definitely, I hope they.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: Definitely do at least a podcast.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: Tell me what went on. But I guess it's They're
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: just like, no, it's not a problem. We're totally fine. Like,
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: we're happy the trip lasted this long. I don't know.
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: I don't know if they don't have kids or what,
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: but they are not complaining or freaking out. There is
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: a new thing in the dating world called hood fishing.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: It's what my parents used to call geographically undesirable, which
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: means the person that you are thinking about dating just
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: lives too freaking far away. And New York City, on
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: the app's people will say, just like a catfish, maybe they,
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: you know, use a different photo or lie about their
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: age or whatever. They say, oh, I live in the city.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: And then once they start talking to them and liking them,
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: then they want to make a date. And then the
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: person reveals like, well, actually, I live in Long Island
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: or whatever. And it's an hour train ride. And then
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: they're like, well, why did you basically lied so that
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: I would think that you lived near me? And so,
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: These kids trying to date just can't catch a break.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: But you can also– this is kind of fun. There
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: is a life-size Polly Pocket house, and it's coming to
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: an Airbnb. But it's like a slumber party thing, very
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: cute for like a girls' weekend, a bachelorette party, whatever.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: I think this kind of stuff is really fun, like
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: going to more experienced, nostalgic type of places.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: Like I mentioned earlier.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: The airport– that's like takes the airport hotel that takes
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: you like to the 1960s going on an airplane experience
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: back in the day. I would love to go to
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: more weekend resorts that have a back in time experience. Now,
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: I kind of get that when I go to Palm
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: Springs or, you know, where I live, La Quinta, there's
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: a lot of like that kind of mid-century 1960s vibe,
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: but it might be really fun to like for people
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: to explore this or be like, you're in a Barbie
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: dream house or a Polly pocket. I think that's like,
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: I think that's going to be a new thing. Also,
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: I saw this on People Magazine. You can get this
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: two-story tiny home with six bedrooms and a side deck
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: for only $ 80, 000. And it's one of those tiny homes,
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: but it seriously looks like an $ 8 million home that
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: you would see on Selling Sunset. I mean, it looks
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: exactly the same, except it's $ 80, 000. And I just think
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: like this stuff's like amazing. And why aren't more people
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: buying these? And, and just, I don't know. It's just very,
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: it's like, why, why wouldn't you get this for 80,000? Like,
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: where do I get this for 80,000? Can it fit
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: in my backyard?
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: That's incredible.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: So there is an article in people magazine about celebrities
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: who have opened up about celibacy. Now they just, said,
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: you know, I've taken six months off. I've taken a
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: year off. I've been, oh my God, I'm basically a
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: virgin now. It's been so long. And they're just really
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: being honest about, I'm just not in a relationship and
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: I don't care how long it goes.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: Drew Barrymore has said it.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: She's like, I've been, I have been celibate since I
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: became a single mom. And I just, I don't do it.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: The dating is so scary.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: Who should I date? What kind of culottes should I wear?
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: I find it I kind of find it interesting, but
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: I also find it great that people are so honest
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: about it because I would think, you know, everyone always
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: wants to think there's something weird if.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: You don't have sex.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: Well, this girl said she's a 33-year-old virgin who is
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: not religious, and this is why she didn't have sex.
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: So she goes on to say, I'm 33, and I
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: just haven't been in a relationship, but now I'm kind
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: of ready to. So I read the article, and it
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: turns out Sadly, her dad died when she was like 18,
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: but she inherited.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: A lot of money.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: And for the last like 12 years, she's just been
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: traveling the world, having the time of her life and
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: staying in beautiful places. And so then there were the
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: comments were like, well, maybe I'd like to date her. Yeah,
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: I mean, she's very cute. But she said it wasn't
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: a religious thing. It was just something that she just
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: wasn't interested in and never really pursued. And now she's
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: also being honest about it. And I thought that that was,
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: you know, based based on my book. If you're not aware,
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: I've written a book called You'll Never Blue Ball in
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: this Town Again. And it is a New York Times bestseller.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: And it is about how I found myself still 27
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: and a virgin. And it wasn't a religious thing. It
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: was a little bit in that. Like my mom, you know,
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: we were Catholic and it was like you should be
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: a good Catholic and you shouldn't have sex before you're
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: married because God forbid you get pregnant and then you're
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: stuck and da-da-da. But after a certain point, it wasn't that.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: It was just like I couldn't find a boyfriend. And
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: when I would kind of like a guy, then I'd
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: be like, well, I want to make sure this is
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: my boyfriend because I've waited this long. So I don't
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: want to just like have sex with this guy I
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: never hear from again. But then those people were so
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: used to not waiting more than two or three dates
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: that then by the third date of me not having
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: sex with them, they just figured I didn't like them.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: And then they dumped me. And I'd be like, what happened?
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: And that was basically the book is really funny.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: Stories of all of that and me like trying to
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: also make it as a comedian. And I was not
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: out as a virgin as a comedian. I'd have jokes
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: about like funny jokes that I'd come up with based
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: on like my friends and stuff. So it would sound
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: like I was somewhat promiscuous on stage almost. And because
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: it was so embarrassing. So I I love the honesty.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: I think people need to be more honest. And, you know,
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: it is hard to to meet and date. And, you know,
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: it is hard to I see why if people can
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: just get their own tiny home and not have to
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: deal with these weirdos and not have to travel two
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: hours to meet someone, how it just all of a.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Sudden you wake up and you're, you know, not having sex.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: This guy did get married and to his wife. And
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: then a five-year-old daughter, and then the wife is like,
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: I'm dying to go on a European trip. And then
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: he's like, well, then my mother-in-law just like invited herself,
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: which I wasn't really thrilled about. And the wife booked
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: the hotel, and she was paying for it, and they
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: had two queen beds. So I guess he and the
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: wife would sleep in one bed, not very romantic, and
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: the grandma, mother-in-law, and the five-year-old sleep in another bed.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: And he said, I couldn't take it anymore. this was
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: like a Tik TOK or a Reddit or something.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: And he's like, I couldn't take it anymore because she was,
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: the mother-in-law was using all my wife's expensive products. And, um,
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: and then the final straw was she used the tooth,
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: our toothpaste and just the thought of her toothbrush, getting
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: that close to my toothpaste. I finally just said, I'm
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: out of here. This isn't a fun trip for me.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: And he booked his flight home and was like, goodbye.
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: And then now the woman's screaming at him and furious
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: and everything. And, I thought, you know, the thing with
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: that is I think that you just really have to
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: be more vocal about your in-laws in situations like that
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: and a trip and how much time. It's one thing
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: to visit an in-law, and it's another to be, like,
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: not only staying at their house but in their bedroom.
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: I think what it really comes down to is you
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: really have to be more.
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: Vocal about your in-laws.
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: I know people are always like, my mother-in-law, my mother,
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: my husband, whatever. You know, a video recently came up
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: and it was Bethany Frankel reliving a time when she
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: was married and she was, you know, being really raw
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: about the time. And I think she was mourning that
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: loss of the fact that she was a really busy mom,
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: which I talked about when her daughter was young and
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: she had a talk show and this and that. But
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: also she realized like this marriage isn't working out with
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: the husband. And she said that his Parents who to
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: this day, she says, have a relationship with their daughter
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: and they, you know, they seem like they're good people.
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: But I just think they didn't realize that it wasn't
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: working out how much time that they were in her space.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: So she said, you know, not only would they come
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: and visit like once a month, then two weekends out
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: of them.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: So three weekends they'd spent with her.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: One weekend they would come to her house and stay
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: like a week and then the and then there'd be
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: two weekends a month that she would have to pack
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: up everything with her husband at the time Jason Hoppy
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: and the baby and go visit them and stay at
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: their house and while she's doing this talk show and
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: everything and I think now she's just was unpacking she
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: did stop talking about it I think maybe it was
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: a legal reason but this was kind of an interesting
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: video that like went that was sent to me and
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: she's just kind of crying about it and she was
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: just like and the comments were were like look they
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: probably were really well-meaning and this was maybe going to
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: be their only grandchild they were so excited but and
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: they think that they're being great hosts when you come
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: but as like a grown woman you just want like
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: your own space and And no matter how nice your
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: in-laws are, you need to know that your parents are
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: not your partner's parents.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: They're not.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: And some people thought it was really weird that we
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: bought a house next door to my parents. And it
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: was like right out of Everyone Loves Raymond. But it
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: really wasn't because they were like, really? You really want
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: to live next to us? They never stopped by unannounced,
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: my parents. My mom would be like, call me on
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: a Monday and be like, on Wednesday, would you like
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: to come over for dinner?
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: And I was always like, yeah, because she's like a
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: really good cook and stuff. They never.
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: Were just like, we just want to see the baby
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: or whatever. It was more convenient for me. I'd be like, hey,
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: can you watch Brandon or whatever for a couple hours?
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: Or they'd be like, no, we're too tired. We're older
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: and we're tired. We don't want, go get a sitter.
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: And sometimes that would happen.
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: And I just feel like people need to like.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: Communicate more with their in-laws early on. And I almost
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: think that's why like, um, like when you have like
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: those pre-marriage classes that sometimes church is required, that should
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: be a real thing that you talk about.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: Like, you know, how off earthquake, earthquake.
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:11:06Speaker 6: Huh?
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: Looks like we got our clip, Rebecca.
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: All right, the question is, do we want to keep going?
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: Yes! We're keeping all this in.
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: Oh, 100%. Let's wrap this up.
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: We're going to wrap it up, okay?
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: Know your mother-in-law plan before you get married and know
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: your earthquake plan if you live in earthquake country.
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: And that's get under the table. And we're fine. We're fine.
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: Brandon's fine. He's here. Rebecca's fine. The editor. My heart's beating.
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: And we love you. Take care.
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: I hope California is still here for the 2028 Olympics.
- 1:11:58Speaker 6: Thanks. Bye.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: Those thoughts.
