Latest / Worldview Matters With David Fiorazo / Nick Vujicic: ‘No Limbs, No Limits’ Coming To Theatres! | Worldview Matters
Transcript
- 0:00Nicholas Wojcic attacks life with a fierce independence. Nick was just that boy that wanted to be normal. Whatever normal is, he just wanted to be like everybody else. But that is not what he's been allotted. He's special. Yes, there's something physically different about him, but he's no different to you or I.
- 0:26I think at that stage of my life, I was almost expecting that I would never get an answer. If you give me arms and legs, awesome. But if there's something more to this, I'm open to it. There's gonna be some storms in your life. I really believe strongly that God lets us go through these struggles so we can help each other out as well. I want you to believe that you are special. And you've got a beautiful heart.
- 0:53Imagine if every single person would wake up in the morning and say, I'm just happy to be me. Gee, it'd be a good world, wouldn't it?
- 1:09Welcome to Worldview Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events, defending biblical Christianity. No topic, off limits. And now, here's your host, David Fiorazzo.
- 1:26Friends, family in Christ, thank you so much for tuning in. You're in for a treat today. That project is coming out in September, which is coming in a matter of weeks. So we'll tell you more about it when we introduce our guest, Nick Vujicic. He's been with us once before. He's a globally recognized Australian-American evangelist, entrepreneur, speaker, and New York Times bestselling author. Now, through his powerful storytelling and unwavering commitment to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ,
- 1:56Nick has reached more than 1 billion people across 87 countries on over 3,500 stages. As a result of Nick's outreach, 1.5 million souls so far have committed their lives to Jesus Christ. His motivational platform, Attitude is Altitude, has touched billions of people, challenging and inspiring students.
- 2:18to love themselves, love others, and become resilient and make better decisions. So Nick's early life was marked by challenges, including rejection, bullying, depression, suicidal thoughts. However, through a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, praise God,
- 2:35He found the strength to overcome these difficulties and live a full and fruitful life. Nick is now happily married to his beautiful wife, Kanae. I hope I said that right. And they have four children, two boys and twin girls. Together they reside in Dallas, Texas, no longer in Australia, mate. He is here stateside. Brother Nick, thank you so much for your time today. Welcome back to the podcast. David, thank you so much for having me back and really appreciate you and your ministry, sir.
- 3:03Well, God bless you, sir. Did I get the pronunciation of your wife's name right? Yeah, generally, it's okay. But kanae, it's three syllables. It's Japanese. Half Japanese, half Mexican. We call that Japsican.
- 3:18Okay, kind of A. All right, so congrats on this final product, the film coming out. This is airing in early August. The film is coming out in September. I know it's been a long, possibly strenuous journey with some roadblocks and opposition and all kinds of stuff. We'll get to that in a minute, but I want to talk about...
- 3:40briefly your podcast because I think you just recently in the last several months started doing a podcast and you've had some of the people we've had on our show here so tell us about the podcast please
- 3:52Yeah, look, first and foremost, No Limbs, No Limits. It is coming out into theaters 25th of September. We're so excited about it. And, you know, we wanted people to hear about some earlier opportunities to participate. And later on, you know, we'll talk about a pay it forward opportunity as well to buy tickets for people that...
- 4:14need to come and see it that may not necessarily have the chance to do that. But the bottom line here, David, is hope is everything. And definitely when you do things unto the Lord or God's
- 4:27Well, there's definitely opposition, spiritual warfare, obstacles. But the Lord has indeed been faithful and kind, merciful and gracious and given us favor to see this film become all that God has wanted it to be, that we want people to, even if they don't come to church,
- 4:48to go to a movie, a cinema, and give their life to God. And there is quite a strategic, longer strategic version of how this film is going to go into all the world without me having to go to travel to more than the countries that we've been to and have it as a military tool for churches and schools. And just a lot of mental health topics are on the lips of everyone still.
- 5:18will inspire healing, redemption, and salvation. Amen, brother. Pray for Nick and just the rollout of this in September, which is going to be here before we know it. You know, simple question. Do you know anybody that needs hope? And that's everybody. So people need to see this. I think that's a great idea to buy tickets for other people who may not be able to afford it.
- 5:42or to gift. We'll talk a little bit more about that, but I want to give the websites. There's several websites I want to get you to. First of all, nickvfilms.com is the site. You can watch the trailer. We shortened the trailer, by the way, at the beginning of the podcast, nickvfilms.com. You can also go to, on YouTube, Nick Vujicic, official channel. You can look him up there if you're not already following him, and you can check out the No Limits, No Limits podcast.
- 6:11You've had we had Kevin and Sam Sorbo in studio several months ago. They're wonderful. You talk to Bethany Hamilton, Dallas Jenkins for King and Country, Willie Robertson, and it goes on and on. So what a great thing you're doing there. And you're talking about some of the same issues that is part of your story from your film. Talk to us a little bit about that.
- 6:31Yeah, you know, we all go through ups and downs. And, you know, there are so many people like Bethany Hamilton and Dallas Jenkins and everyone else that God's using their yes. And there's no limit as to what God can do with our broken pieces and our yes. And that's all he wants, our yes and faith. And, you know, we all have our crossroads and seasons and timing where we finally get the revelation or enough faith.
- 6:58where we can trust the Lord with our circumstances. And no matter who I run into or interview or get interviewed by,
- 7:06brokenness is common for us all. We're all recovering human beings and I can't compare my suffering to someone else's. I've been around the world and I've actually written out 106 different ways in how a human being can suffer. But to understand that we all have disabilities, some you can see, some you can't. Most of them you can't. And it's all about our mind being renewed, our soul being saved, and
- 7:30realizing that God has a plan. And if whatever disability we have with fear of rejection, fear of failure, wanting to fit in and belong and looking for purposeness, the bottom line is when you put a G-O in front of the word disabled, it spells God is abled. And when you don't get a miracle, you can still be one. He enables us to be a miracle even when He doesn't always give us
- 7:59I love what you said. God uses our brokenness, our broken pieces. God can use anyone for his glory, and your life is a perfect example of that. Briefly, Nick, you said before we got on the podcast you were just in Africa. What were you doing there? Tell us about the trip.
- 8:29and preach the gospel, will come in, potentially meet a president, vice president, go on a stadium, go on television. And we were so thankful to go to Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa region. We were in Kenya, Uganda, Namibia, Zambia, stadiums of up to 13,000 people, sometimes 7,000 people in person, giving their life to Jesus Christ in person, but with millions of people watching online.
- 8:53and on television. And so 50 million people in 12 days heard the gospel of Jesus Christ, and we're looking forward to going to Hungary in August. And next year, God willing, it'll be Italy, Bulgaria, Brazil, Mexico, and two countries in Africa that I've not gone to, that we're still praying through. So pray for us. We know it's all part of the Great Commission. And that's, as an evangelist, I mean, I can't even get too
- 9:20churches in the U.S. to decide what kind of chicken to eat together. And there's not a lot of hunger for souls out here as much as the world. And so the Lord in 2023 challenged us, moved us, led us to now go back and go do some world touring again without sacrificing my family time too much, but doing things as much as we can in, you know, those two weeks, tens of millions to hear the gospel. That's what our heartbeat is of the ministry.
- 9:50Let's talk about something you just shared. I've been disappointed, I think a lot of people are, with the declining biblical worldview, not just in our country, but in the church. And do you find, when you're traveling overseas, other countries, do you find there to be more openness to the gospel and a spiritual hunger than there is right here in the United States where we have religious freedom and the First Amendment and we have just kind of comfortable Christianity, which is not a good thing?
- 10:21What's interesting is the USA is one of the most complicated, diversified peoples, even within the Christian world. There are, though, people that, let's say, in the cities, we have found, personally, we have found less churches willing to work together in cities than regional churches.
- 10:50less privileged regions of states where hurt, suicide is rampant, and not everyone's just busy and barely making it to church on Sunday, but there is more need in regional parts of each of the states in America. So there's even a distinction of geographic cultural mindset. Then you've got the political, and then you've got most of the pastoral leaders who don't have...
- 11:20accountability for their uprightness. And that's a whole different thing in regards to then now not having a bone in their body of strength to talk about the things that we should talk about that would be deemed as politically incorrect. It's not political incorrectness. It's
- 11:44biblical to stand upon the Word of God and not to just say how we're different and what I should be doing different than you or you than me, but to come together for the sake of the gospel to reach out to everyone. And so I think the first disability, if I can expand here a little bit, and then I'll talk about international.
- 12:04You can't just tell someone in an inner city building block where three people per week within a mile get shot because it's violent. And her mother had eight abortions. Her grandmother had abortions and she got raped. And we can't just say, well, just keep the baby. We can say this is horrible.
- 12:24biblically true that that baby, God has a plan for that child. But we also want to come alongside of you and help you to get up on your own two feet, emotionally walk through this next two years with you, help you be financially stable enough to keep the child or allow the child to be adopted. So it goes handy now. I think there's so many different ways in the dynamics of USA. Internationally,
- 12:50There is right now a movement leaving churches in Africa by Christians because they've been hurt by the church, Prosperity Gospel Church, and leaders manipulating. And so people, I think there's good, the bad, and the ugly everywhere. But what I will say the biggest distinction is, is in developing countries, two things.
- 13:13very much more aware of the spiritual warfare and hunger for spiritual change because witchcraft, voodoo, and all that stuff is prevalent there. And second of all, because of the desperation of need, because of lack of resources in these countries, they are more hungry and they're more authentic and they actually have more real reverence for the Lord and thanksgiving towards the Lord every day because of the suffering that they've gone through.
- 13:42Thank you. Thank you for addressing that. It's very important to talk about, and someone that's traveled like yourself probably sees a lot of contrast when you travel between here and other countries. And we've exported the prosperity gospel, and it's just a shame.
- 13:57that these poor people in other countries that don't have much, that walk miles and miles and miles on a dirt road in the hot sun to go to a Christian event or a crusade or something, they get saved, they start reading the Bible, and they're told that, you know, it's just some lies of the prosperity gospel. But that's on a different tangent. Go ahead. I'll give you an example, one sentence. Yep. Pasta, some examples, a pastor won't pray for you unless you give him a dollar. Wow. Wow.
- 14:28Wow. That's some text show, buddy. Text show. Okay? Wow. It takes more of us to keep speaking the truth. I have a friend of mine who's also from Texas. He's an evangelist. He goes to other countries. He speaks more in other countries than he does here because some churches won't have him. Because he tries to go and do the discipleship and the biblical training and...
- 14:51biblical Christianity rather than American Christianity. And he's teaching pastors in Moldova and Ukraine and other countries that he travels to. There's just so much work to be done. But anyway, we're glad that you've got your role and you've got a major way that God's using you. Want to get, want to get back to your story. And again, about the movie coming out, no limbs, no limits. It's the Nick V story. Um,
- 15:16Something really struck me about your bio, and I wanted to ask you about that because I guess I was just hopeful that— I mean, I know there's bullying. We all kind of maybe experienced it or witnessed that when we went through school. But I was a little, not surprised, but disappointed to read someone like yourself growing up and when you were in school, the challenges including rejection, bullying—
- 15:40depression and the bullying just really disappointed me. And I know a lot of kids are mean and they think they do it for, maybe they do it for attention. I don't know. But could you speak to that for parents maybe that have a young boy or girl that's maybe dealt with some bullying in their school? Speak to that from your experience, please.
- 16:04Yeah, first and foremost, I wrote a whole book just on that topic called Stand Strong. I really recommend it. You'll find it online. The bottom line is hurting people hurt people or insecure people make other people feel insecure. So if the majority of the reason for that is, you know, obviously derived in the root of human nature, to believe that someone is more important than someone else or someone is less important than someone else, it's not pure love.
- 16:34And so that fear then gets into us all. And it's actually interesting where to all the parents, there is a 33, there is a,
- 16:4533% chance that your teenager, if she's already 17, has been actually sexually abused or being touched inappropriately. And 20% of boys by age 17. But they won't tell you. They won't tell you about bullying. It's difficult to talk about different things like this. And so...
- 17:06I encourage you to have conversations with your kids that don't put the spotlight on them, but talk about cyberbullying or talk about bullying from a third party observing point of view of the kids' school, of the kids' friends, but not them.
- 17:23And you do need to show them effort from your part to build a bridge of wanting to interact with them, have a friendship with them, having quality time with them one on one. I've got four kids, so you learn four ways in how to love on a kid. They they they they they need me. They need their mom. They need us as friends.
- 17:44And so have that conversation, read that book and help them understand that they are beautiful the way that they are and don't grow weary in planting those seeds. No matter what happens to those seeds, David, if we don't continue to be persistent in those seeds of truth, who will?
- 18:03Amen. Thank you. I appreciate that very much. I want to talk—your parents must have had so much grace, patience, and faith, even now, but when you were younger. But I want to talk about that because it says the film features never-before-seen footage of your life. And, you know, I mean, that's God that they started recording and filming you and your journey—
- 18:28It says they began filming this journey from the start, capturing a life shaped by unimaginable struggle, unyielding determination and guided by unshakable faith in God. Let's talk about your parents and their role in what is going to be coming out in September with No Limbs, No Limits.
- 18:48Yeah, I was so honored that my mom, who's still with us on this side of heaven, and dad graduated, she said yes to coming on and doing an interview, as well as my brother, my sister, and my family, obviously, is my anchor as a kid, going through life, going through ups and downs, footage of my dad, footage of my dad, even on national television in Australia, because I was the first
- 19:14if you will, trailblazing, integrating example of a special needs child going to school. And for him to say on national news, I actually wished at one stage when he was born that he would just die because it was just insurmountable. My mom and dad actually planted churches. They planted a church 11 months before I was born and they
- 19:39It's a real raw exposure of letting people know it was hard, and it is hard. Even when you are a Christian or a faith leader, and I'll tell you now, I'm the evangelist preaching the gospel. I just went through counseling a handful of years ago. We go through ups and downs. We go through depression. We have those questions, those fears, those thoughts. And the Lord, though, then gives us the faith and the grace to keep on going one day at a time.
- 20:07and giving it a chance. I mean, my mom couldn't hold me for 16 weeks without crying or having something in her that's just emotionally heavy. She accepted me, you know, if you will. They took me home, but coming to terms with difficult, tragic situations that are unexpected, that's what we want people to relate to.
- 20:32Because most of our brokenness, whether it's from birth or during our life, there's always going to be struggles. There's always going to be pain. And we're not to say that we've gone through something more difficult than someone else. But it's understanding that there are no limits with what God can do with your yes,
- 20:51your obedience, your faith, and your broken pieces. And this story is understanding that your history becomes his story. And being able to focus on the janitor that God used to first come to me and say, can I organize a speech at the school where you share three things, who you were before you met Christ, how you met Christ, and what that means for you today?
- 21:17I was a vice president of my school, and Arnold, the janitor, he came to me and said, are you a Christian? I said, yes. He said, God's going to use you, young man, and you're going to speak around the world. And I said, speak about what? He said, your story. And so imagine just how...
- 21:32From a family point of view to a janitor to then friends and other people that are in this documentary, we all can be part of someone's steps within God's plan for us to see the beauty revealed in even some of our difficult times.
- 21:55I mean, using the word inspiring about your story doesn't even seem to be a strong enough word to describe. It really is, Nick. I've followed you for years. For those of you that aren't familiar with Nick's ministry, make sure to go to his website, several websites. NickVFilms.com is about the film. You can go to the YouTube channel. You can go to his ministry site. Would you please give the ministry site the website again?
- 22:20Yes, sir. NickVMinistries.org. Okay, .org. Find them on social media, Facebook, Instagram, X, Twitter, obviously YouTube. So let's talk about a call to action now, how people can help, because this was produced by Reserve Entertainment and Cypher Studios. It's an event by Fathom Entertainment. So how is that going to work, and are you still fundraising? Tell us about the process and how people can help other than pray.
- 22:48Yeah, look, right now we just want people to pray, number one, book your calendar for the weekend there of the September 25th weekend coming up. Think about who to invite and get people to nickvfilms.com to watch the trailer and then give us your email address so we can let you know as soon as advanced tickets are available.
- 23:11That would be the best thing for people to do today. And when you give us your email address on nickleafilms.com, you'll also get the No Limits electronic Devo that we'll be encouraging you through as well before leading up to it. And think of the people that in your life won't ever come to a church. Get them to the film. Whether they have depression or bullying or...
- 23:37difficulties in life from the young to the old. I don't think anyone's old. It's just a number, but bring as many people as possible. It is PG. It is raw. We do talk about the suicide attempt that I had at age 10. So, but we really reveal it in a way in culture, in a way that's not just digestible for young people who are going through that. And we don't sometimes even know how to talk about suicide ideology and
- 24:07But this is a beautiful film for your church, your school, your small group, your friends, your family, your neighbors. Come and check it out. So go to nickbfilms.com. Thanks, brother. I knew this would go by fast. There's one quote that I want you to expound upon in the last three minutes. What was that?
- 24:27It did go fast. Yeah, it did. What if the thing you spent your life trying to fix is the very thing God wants to use? Three minutes, brother. Expound on that for us.
- 24:42Look, I've been wanting God to give me arms and legs, and I still pray for arms and legs. And I have a pair of running shoes and dancing shoes in my closet just in case. And I've seen physical miracles and demonic exorcisms. It's been an incredible experience in the last 25 years for me to travel around the world and see what I've seen, experienced what I've experienced. And the greatest thing is loving God, getting to know Him more on a daily basis to the point where
- 25:08We look at Jesus, how he prayed, not my will, but your will be done.
- 25:15If Jesus prayed that prayer and he came not to be served, but to serve, we are here as citizens of heaven passing through earth and loving God, being the best steward I can be with my life, with my wife, with my family first. Then my life story ministry, whether you're a janitor or a teacher or a truck driver, it's your ministry. You can be the light.
- 25:41And then after that, everything else. And so understanding that God will always provide what you need. He may not always give you what you want, but when you put a G-O in front of the word disabled, it actually spells God is abled. When you walk by faith and not by sight and you go.
- 25:58And what is he able to do? Exceedingly abundantly more than you can ever ask, imagine, or attain. So understanding that God can give me arms and legs, but he saved my soul, he healed my heart, he renewed my mind. I'm not waiting for arms and legs to say yes to God's calling for me to stand in front of the gates of hell and redirect traffic.
- 26:17And we want people to be challenged in faith, to understand that if God can use a man without arms and legs to be his hands and feet, then God can use any willing heart. And lastly, this is the most, to me, the most beautiful line of all. And it was when I met a boy just like me. He was 19 months old, little foot. Daniel Martinez, California, and 19 months old, can't even stand. I saw him in the crowd, got his grandpa to put me up next to him. Can't give him a high five, put my little foot on his foot.
- 26:46And God said, see, when you don't get a miracle, I can still use you to be one. So again, there is no limit as to what God can do with your yes and your broken pieces if you give him those things today.
- 27:03Wow. Well, friends, rewind the last couple minutes here. You need to hear that again, what Nick just shared. No Limbs, No Limits, the Nick V story in theaters, September 25th. God bless your ministry. I want to remind our audience, viewers and listeners from
- 27:18Seven countries and all across the states pray for Nick. Even in this, as they're getting ready to roll out this film, there will be more warfare. That's just part of the Christian journey. But I wish you good success, brother, that God will continue to enlarge your territory even more. But thanks for your time today. So inspiring. And I'm just so blessed to have you on today. God bless you, David. Thank you very much.
- 27:41You're most welcome. Friends, share this one. God bless you. And as always, keep speaking the truth about things that matter. See you next time.
