Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: I think people think sales is serious.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Sales matters.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: There's a difference between it mattering and being serious.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: If your Instagram stories and your Instagram DMs aren't bringing you 16K hot and steamy leads, and you're not exactly at the sales goal you want to be at for this quarter, I've got you.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Hey sales friends, I'm Alyssa, your chief sales gal.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: I've been in business for 11 years, and I currently run a done for you lead generation and lead management agency with Instagram DMs.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: I'm about to show you guys all of the juicy sales things on Instagram, Instagram stories to get new leads, and closing sales in the DMs and with sales calls.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: So let's get into all of the juicy details.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Hey all, welcome back to the DM sales go.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: I'm like fighting myself not to say y'all now that I'm out of the South.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: Now it's like funny or Midwest, whatever.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Uh my brain is like kind of like spaghetti.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: This gal told me, Tracy told me, maple syrup brain apparently is the thing.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: So maybe that's what I have going on.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Really, all that I've wanted to do today and yesterday is play like Spongebob cooking games.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Like Netflix has games in the Netflix app, and I'd just be like flipping burgers and like avocado toast, sausages.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: I served a lot of bowl of nails.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: That was our special.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I did say bowl of nails.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: But besides SpongeBob, uh, which I didn't even watch the show, but the game is so much fucking fun.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: I like cannot get enough.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm like a child.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: My husband is like, let's eat dinner now.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, just one more round, two more rounds, seven more rounds.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: He's like, no, let's eat.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: Put the phone down.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Anyways, uh, but yeah, all I wanted to do is do Spongebob lately.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: And instead of that, we're gonna talk about money today, and we're specifically going to talk about how to play with sales, which I did in June, and I want you guys to do and have fun with in July.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: I think people think sales is serious.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Sales matters.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: There's a difference between it mattering and being serious.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: I think that women put all this pressure on themselves, and it's sales can be super hard when you're in like a financial spot where you need to make sales, or you're just putting a lot of pressure on a goal because, and it gets a lot easier when you don't put the pressure on it.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Arguably, it works based on the data a lot better when you don't put pressure on sales.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: So I want to talk about in June how I played with sales and how you guys can as well.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Luckily, also regarding my brain being like a spaghetti maple syrup brain combination, I don't really have to do that much these days.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Uh, May, really May in the first half of June, most of June, up until like last week, were insane restructuring the entire company and our sales team.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: We're back to five people, we'll have six as of next week.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: Hey, Maddie, Anita, Tina, Tanya, Allie, and Fatima.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: Love you guys.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Uh, that's all my sales team and Zoe, our CRO.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: But, anyways, luckily I don't have to do that much uh for business.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: I just like kind of like patter around the house and the office like a grandma, and then like oscillate between sitting here and dabbling around doing shit, and then like laying on our porch, which is behind my computer, um, on the third story in our Denver apartment with the cat, with our cheetah, gambit, our bangle.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: But, anyways, yeah, let's get into it.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: I did a lot of crazy shit in May and June.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: I did a bunch of crazy shit in business.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: I did a lot of whatever the fuck I wanted to, and it was really, really fun, and it made a lot of money.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: People can tell when you're having fun in your business.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: And also, like, let's say you need a social media manager, an ads manager, an ops manager, a copywriter, an email marketer, a coach, a lead gen team, a podcast manager, like our lovely Marie.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: If they're really good at it, it's great.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: Obviously.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: You want somebody who's really good at it, right?
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: And has references and case studies and is easy to talk to and is communicative, like all that shit, yes.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: And as our recent client Kara, who did a lead gen sprint, wrote in her feedback form today.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: You also ideally want to move towards people that you relate to, and that's way easier when they're having fun.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: I know that anyone I could hire if I'm considering them, like I'm pretty damn sure they can do the work.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: They can do the job, they can do it well.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: You know who I hire faster?
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: People that I think are fucking fun, in addition to being able to do the work.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: A lot of people could do the work.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: A lot of people could do the work on our sales team.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, not as many as other roles, but a lot of people could do the work on our sales team.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: But I pick the people with that could do the work, that have the best attitude, that have fun with it, that are excited about it, that are positive to the rest of the team.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: If you can do that in your sales, in your marketing and your sales, you're gonna really flourish and take off in July.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Alright, so here's three crazy fucking things I did really May, June, and now July.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: So the last couple of months going into July that I have plans for that are nuts and nobody else is doing them.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: So I am.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: So I'm doing them.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: So three different things, and they've all been lucrative, or I know they're gonna be lucrative.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: And I told our sales team members, it's a whole other fucking podcast episode.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: Anita blowing me away.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: Anita is a beautiful, hot, blonde bodybuilder in the UK, who's also a fitness coach and like a sales badass.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: And Anita got a lead yesterday, a new lead in my DMs for my business, because my team works on my business and our clients' business.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: Anita got a new lead in the DMs yesterday, brand new lead from Threads.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Hey, I'm interested in lead gen.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: In about 30 minutes to an hour, like asynchronously, like coming in and out of the DMs, in about an hour, maybe two at the very most, she was like led to the point that she was closing that lead.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: And she was like, I hope she signs.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Oh, I know she'll sign.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: I I know she'll sign.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Like 99.9% certainty.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: And I know from data, the only reason this lead won't sign, who needs what we have, understands it, wants us to do it, the only reason she won't sign is gonna be an emergency.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: If somebody gets sick, if there's a massive like$50,000 unforeseen expense, that that's really it.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: Natural disaster, like that's it.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: In case of emergency, maybe we have to postpone.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: But like this person will sign.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: And I know that, and that's an example.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: I know that with most of our leads, whenever we get to a certain point.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: So for what we're doing in July, I know that we'll make money from it.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: And I've never done it before, but I know it'll make money because I did the research and I put the feelers out there.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: So to back up, three different things.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Number one, you guys have heard me talk about these in other episodes, Instagram Stories collabs.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: What the fuck is that?
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: I made it up.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Obvious obviously, like I made it up.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: There's a reason that you don't hear like everybody on threads being like Instagram stories collabs, like, no, because I made it up because it's mine, and then I told everyone I've done them with, and anyone you asked, of course you can go do these with other people.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: Like, spread the love.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: I want us to do this, I want us to work together.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: But for those of you that don't know, an Instagram stories collab is a five-minute Instagram stories segment like I do every day, but in this case, we agree on a joint topic.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: Me and my collaborator, we agree on a joint topic.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: I did one to Alex D'AMOTI today.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Alex talked on the topic, and at the end she shared my first story.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: I talked on the topic, at the end, I shared Alex's first story.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: So basically, we pick a topic, we both record Instagram stories on it for five minutes in about the same, like in about the hour at the same time, and then I share hers at the end so people can go see her part two, and she shares mine at the end so they can go see her part two.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: You get the gist, right?
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: It's like two parts of a presentation, one's first, one's second, but they're not like in order, you just like look at both parts.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: So that's the Instagram stories collabs, and I've done about 25 of those between May and June.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: To date, if I'm guesstimating pretty well, I've made about nine grand from those from my five-minute Instagram stories segment segments.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: Anyways, nine thousand dollars from the Instagram stories collabs that I did because I thought it would be fun, and it was fucking fun.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: And the reason I did those is because I know a lot of really fucking cool people, mostly female identifying, not all, but a lot of really cool people, and I didn't need to buy from them.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: You guys might not know this, but like I'm not a big buyer.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: I got myself into all sorts of trouble the other day, yesterday, on Fred's for saying, like, why the fuck do people join group programs?
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: That got real contentious.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: Like, people got a little pissed, but I was serious.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: Why why though?
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: But why?
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: So, anyways, I'm a buyer in the sense that like I'll hire people who do the work for us.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Like, I hire dumf providers, partners, and pay them, and I like it's a beeline.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: I know what I want, when I want it, how much we can spend, I'll go identify a few candidates, me or Zoe, my chief revenue officer, and then we hire them.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: But I'm not a big buyer, so there's you know, dozens of women that I adore, but arguably I'm not gonna buy from most of them, like 97% of them, because I don't need what they got, and I don't need much.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: We know what we need for hiring, and we have a whole plan for Q3 for who we're hiring and what roles, etc.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: So I didn't need to buy from these ladies, nor do they necessarily need or want to buy from me right now, but we could do a collab and cross-market together.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: So that's what we did.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: Instagram Stories Collabs got at least two new clients, they're$1,500 a month times three months, is$4,500 per client or 9,000 total sales.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: So it was, you know,$3,4500 so far, and the rest is on like automated retainer payments, just to be like really, really transparent about it.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: So that's the Instagram Stories Collabs.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: Again, I did it for fun, I made nine grand.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: So that was the Instagram Stories Collabs piece.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: And then the second piece of this is that I did the lead gen sprints.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: So just to go back for a second, the Instagram Stories Collabs made money because I cross-marketed because it was fun.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: I wanted to find something to do with other people that was fun, and that sounded fun, and I did it before, and it made leads before, gotten leads before in like 2020 COVID days when I was stuck inside doing like 15 minutes of Instagram stories, which I don't advise, by the way.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: It is too long.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: I'm aware of that.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: That's why this shit isn't a podcast.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: And I was recommended to do that for you know five years, so naturally I ignored everyone who told me that for five years.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: Then we met Marie and so she got me to do it.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: But the Instagram Stories Collabs, I wanted to find a way to have fun with women I liked.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: That sounded fun.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: It worked before, so I did it again, and I showed up and like there's my face, and I talked about shit, and then I made nine grand.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: So that's that way to have fun, which is fun.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: Nine grand is fun.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: The second one would be that we did lead gen sprints for one month of lead gen in the months of May, June, maybe late April, May, June.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: We did seven of those for$22,500.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: And I mean, sorry, I'm mixing up S's.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: I'm talking about two different things.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: The Legion sprints, we did seven of them for$1,500 each.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: The total was$10,500.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: We moved from the one-month lead gen sprint offer to a three-month lead gen splash offer.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: That one is made$22,500 in counting.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: Um, so, anyways, those are two different offers.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: But for the lead gen sprint that we were doing, that was fun and it was fun because I got to help people that I liked.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: So we have a lot of people over the last 11 years of my career that want lead gen support but cannot afford something much over a thousand dollar mark and certainly not over a thousand dollar mark on a continuing retainer.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: So, like I've done$1,250 a month, maybe a thousand at the lowest.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: There might have been a time when I did$600 a month, a long time ago, but mostly it's been at least a thousand plus.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: And so we try to do three-month retainers, and if it's a three-month retainer and it's$1,500 a month times three for$4,500, people who have a thousand dollar-ish budget can't afford that.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: So we had a lot of people, again, that we had a lot of people that wanted our help.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: They couldn't afford something much over$1,000.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: The best that I could offer was a$1,500 offer.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: At one point, a couple months ago, it was$1,500 for two weeks.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: Then I basically like kept the workload the same and effectively diminished the cost while keeping the rate.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: And it was$1,500 for four weeks.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: So they got two more weeks for the same price.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: We spread it out a little.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: We spread out the work because the leads we were talking to needed more time to reply and needed more nurturing and follow-up, etc.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: So, anyways, that was again something that was fun because a lot of people were coming to me for this lead gen sprint and for lead gen and could only afford something around a thousand dollars.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: I wanted to help.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: We made, we brought back this one-month offer that we'd done two weeks, four weeks, six weeks before.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: It's a really good jump start for leads.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: We're not offering it anymore because we give people a really good jump start and they want us to continue, but they can't afford it after they've spent that.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: So, anyways, that was another thing I did that was fun.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: And how do I put this professionally without sounding how it's gonna sound?
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: Um I did it to help people.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: Like, obviously, I made money, but we make a lot more when we have ongoing clients, and we can make them a lot more money, like when we have clients that are on retainer and we're keeping them for longer.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: We get a lead gen jump start, and then we can follow those through to sales.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: But I did it to help people because uh I was the only option for them that they needed, and that was the lowest cost I could provide.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: So it was fun that I got to help, but we didn't end up keeping any of those clients because they either decided they wanted to continue lead gen on their own or they couldn't afford to continue, or they were all sorts of reasons health, travels, etc.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: So that was also fun, um, a learning experience for sure.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: Again, that most people that are gonna pay$1,500 just for one month won't be able to continue after that.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: And some make sales in the first days or weeks, but usually it's gonna take six, eight weeks plus with brand new leads to make sales.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: So, anyways, that's that.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: The next thing that we're doing that I mostly want to talk about with you all is our challenge for July.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: It's a free challenge about making sales from Instagram threads to Instagram stories to DM sales.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: Mostly not sales calls, but if you guys want to do sales calls, you can do sales calls.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: So we're probably gonna call this July challenge.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: Skip the sales call.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: But it's about threads to Instagram stories to DM sales.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: And again, if you want to do a sales call rather than closing the DMs, that's you know totally your preference and like your purview on which lead needs which.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be me and my pal Taylor Wayne, who's a threads genius.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: Some of you already know her, the rest of you should know her.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: Um for once I'll use the fucking phrase, or she's kind of going nuts, like popping off on threads.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: I hate, I hate that phrase.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm a millennial.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: I can't get with like the new lingo, really.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: Even if it's like new millennial lingo, like I can't handle it.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: I just sound like a fucking idiot and an asshole.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: But, anyways, it's popping off on threads.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: We got 60 plus comments when I checked uh, I don't know, a couple hours ago of people interested in this challenge.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: So it's gonna be really fun.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's free, it's easy because you don't have to do a lot in the summer of time, but we don't want to do a lot.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: So here's some things that we're excited about to have fun with a new offer.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: I've done a challenge before.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: Honestly, the last time I did a challenge might have been like 2020, 2019.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: A long time when I did a one-month challenge.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: I also had a challenge for people to enter my membership at different periods, but it was a whole lot of work.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: It was like, you know, four plus calls, lots and lots of questions.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: I made a deck for every fucking call.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: And then also we had like a whole, like it was built out in circle, like our whole membership.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: So there was like, you know, nine different channels and everybody posting.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: Like, I just gonna absolutely lose my fucking mind.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: I can't handle that shit.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: I talked to like, you know, dozens of people every day.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: We talked to dozens of people just on our team and our client roster, and then I talked to dozens of leads besides that.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: I love you all, but I cannot be in a group chat.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm just not meant for this shit.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: It's I it's not for me.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: That would not be fun.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: So, regarding having fun, did the Instagram stories collabs, cross-marketed the shit out of those.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: That was really fun.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: Did the lead gen sprints, that was fun that I got to help people, lots of incredible people, incredible offers, businesses.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: We didn't get to retain those clients, but we helped them the very best that we could for a one-month lead gen sprint.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: Now we're doing something else fun, which is this July challenge of skip the sales call on Thread's Instagram stories to DM sales.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: So here's a couple of notes for you all, and then you'll have to go over to Threads.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: I'll link the thread if you guys want to click on it and comment July to sign up.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: Uh by the time that you listen to this podcast, tomorrow we'll probably also have an email sign up.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: This is a prime example of flying the plane while you're still building the thing.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: Tomorrow is the call that Taylor and I have to like finalize the project, like finalize the challenge, and like the email link will be out tomorrow and it'll start tomorrow.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: So, anyways, we're going real fast because people want it and we want to do it, and it's done, and it's not stressful, and we will make money from it.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: Even though it's free.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: We'll get people into our offers from there.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: So, a couple things that we've talked about for the challenge, and this is just the tip of the iceberg, but on threads, we want to be like a couple of different notes on threads that we'll go over in the challenge.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: You want to be engaging, right?
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: Like you want to go engage on other people's threads.
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: The leads that I've gotten through threads, which we've gotten thousands of dollars more, another five that have signed in the last couple of weeks.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Five of them came from threads, and then new leads from threads.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: Threads, when I'm engaging, it's usually not the person who posted it that like comes and DMs me.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: And all DM people that are posting threads and commenting too, but when I get leads from threads, it's usually not someone like I started a DM conversation with or commented on their post first.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: It's people that saw me comment on someone else's post and then they DM me on Instagram.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: So the engagement piece is super important, but also you need to be posting too, right?
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: Taylor's gonna speak to the frequency and what to post and how to strategize and all of that, my collaborator on this challenge.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: But what I can say is what's working for me based on Taylor's recommendations and what I see working for others, and Marie, my podcast manager's recommendations, is a mixture of like behind the scenes and questions.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: Like they are really, of course, like of the moment but business-y thoughts.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: Like I did my like bookkeeping in July, like financial forecasting this morning, super fun.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: No, but like it is exciting because I got my monthly recurring revenue up$7,500 this month, which is what I wanted, and we did it.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: And we're gonna do another$10,000 more next month, which will be like four to six more clients on monthly recurring revenue.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: So I'm excited for that.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: But, anyways, um, so a lot of what I've been doing on threads, like this morning, I did my like behind-the-scenes bookkeeping and then I posted about it.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: Basically, I posted about why I can't make 10k months.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: I need to make$20,000 months, and that's not like I need to.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: No, I I need to.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: And I broke all that down in threads too, and we will link both of those threads.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: So, you guys are gonna get to check out that.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: You'll get to see the thread where you can sign up for the challenge, and you'll also get to see an example of the thread I'm talking about.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: But definitely engage.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: Most of my needs are coming from not engaging on someone's post and then they DM me, not even the DMs I'm sending.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: People who see me comment on someone else's post send me a DM, and it's a direct inquiry.
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: Uh one.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Yesterday said, I think I want lead gen services.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: Like that was it.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: Pretty cut and dried.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: And then we talked about it.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: So that's that.
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: And then also tip three would be to tag a bunch of fucking people.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: Like as opposed to Instagram, you know, everybody wants comments on their stuff, right?
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: I actually don't give a shit.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: I hate responding to comments on like Instagram posts.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: Um, I really don't like it.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: I'd rather people just DM me.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: And I know you're supposed to get the likes and the comments, and your shit goes f I just don't give a fuck about it going viral.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: I look at like which posts are getting the most views, which reels, carousels, because I want to know what topics are resonating, but I don't give a fuck how many likes and comments.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: Like I don't care.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: And I don't want to reply to comments.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: But on threads, I do want to talk to people.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: It's just like an interactive short form conversation that goes on and on and on and on and on.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: So tag people.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: I must have tagged like three, four, six people in my one or two threads this morning because I want their input on what I'm talking about, and I want to bring people together to talk about this with different opinions.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: So I tag them to get them in there.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: So that's on threads.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: Number two, on Instagram stories.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: So when we're getting, we're making threads, people are coming over and DMing us, we're DMing people from threads.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: The first thing they're gonna look at is your Instagram stories.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: A couple of questions that I've gotten this morning and yesterday.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: Talk about what you're thinking about right now, and then if you can't think of anything, use your notes as backup, like use your content ideas.
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: You can pull content ideas from anywhere.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: You can get content ideas from threads, from membership chats, from virtual networking calls, from in-person events, from Slack chats with clients, from Slack chats with team, from team call transcripts, from client call transcripts, from lead sales calls, like from DM chats.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: I have 10 fingers up.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: Like there's no excuse to not have Instagram stories ideas.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: And then my pal Iwana explained to me, it's not about the logistics.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: You're being maybe too pragmatic.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: It's not about I have a phone with a camera that can record video.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: Of course, we all do, I think.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: I have a phone that can record video, so like this is possible for me.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: I have content ideas, so like I know what could be talked about by me.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: And it's only gonna take me five to seven minutes.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: I can make time for it, but I'm not confident in it.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: And that's gonna be entirely my sales team member, Tanya.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: I ain't talking to you guys about confidence.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: I am confident.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: I'm not the best person to speak on confidence.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: I'm confident, I can't teach you how to be confident.
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: It's so beyond my wheelhouse, and there are people that are great at it, and we're gonna pull them into the challenge, and they're gonna do stories and comments and stuff talking with you guys about that.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: So stay tuned for that.
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: But regarding topics in pragmaticism, you have ideas, and I just listed 10 places where you can get them if you need new ones, and then whatever pops into your head at 2.46 on a Tuesday, like talk about that.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: Like, go make it.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: Just stop letting yourself stop yourself.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: Um, but that's a tip for Instagram stories for where to get content ideas from those 10 spots or whatever you're excited about at 2.46 p.m.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: on a Tuesday, lunch, in my case, ravioli.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: And then after that, I would also like write an outline.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: So, like, I mean outline, like write five short bullet points, like five to ten words at the very most.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: You're gonna have a title of the topic, point one, point two, point three, and then you have an outro that gives a call to action.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: We'll go into this way more in the challenge.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: Write titles on your five to seven minutes of Instagram stories, your AI, CC captions, like those are not enough.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: You also need a title, and use real language in your titles too.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: So the last podcast episode that we did talked about snail sex.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: It talked about how to format your Instagram stories like a presentation, like when I was in kindergarten, gave a presentation on snail sex, and my dad taught me this presentation formula.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: So in my Instagram stories, I could write how to structure your Instagram stories like snail sex.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: No one else is going to write that title.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: It is very clearly has Alyssa all over it.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: That's what I want for you guys.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: That's what gets people to look.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: That's not a hook.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: I hate all the jargon.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: It's not a hook.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: You're not gonna read like seven ways to make six million dollars in seven minutes.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: Like, it's not that.
- 26:44SPEAKER_00: It's not 12 tips for a carousel.
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: It's my unique language and point of view on a topic that you can obviously see as soon as you see the title and hear me say it.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: So it's different.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: It's not like clickbait.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: I mean it is, but it isn't.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: It's clickbait with you all over it, not clickbait to get anybody to look at it.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: Some people might see me say snail sex and be like, what the fuck?
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: This girl's weird.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: Good.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: Let's get rid of those people.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: That's great for me.
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: Alright, and then DM sales, a couple of notes too, that will be in the challenge.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna talk about the five-step DM sales flow in the challenge.
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: Just a short note for reference, and then we will get off of this pod, and I shall go eat and go outside.
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't even know if I can stay inside for the ravioli.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: I really need to get the fuck out of the house.
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: Um, it's like past, it's past my prime leaving point.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: It's like one or two p.m.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: now at the very latest.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: I just need to not be indoors at all.
- 27:40SPEAKER_00: Um, and go to the park.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: But, anyways, we're gonna talk about the five-step DM sales flow.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: And of all of our clients that signed in June, one of them asked for a call.
- 27:51SPEAKER_00: And the reason I did it, Domisha, is because she's in Denver with me and we're gonna hang out and we're pals and she's coming to my pool in two days.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: Like, of course I'll do a call with you.
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: Like, we're gonna hang, and you're gonna be a client.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, we can do a call.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: We are gonna meet in person too, but we didn't get to at that time, but we will on Thursday on the roof pool.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: But none of these people even asked for a call.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: They might have seen me vehemently spout about how I don't want to do sales calls, and I usually don't do sales calls.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: I make exceptions if it's someone older than I am that doesn't want to do this in the DMs, if they're 40s, 50s plus, then we'll do a call because that's really their like ideal.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: Also, if there's multiple co-founders, if people need one, two other parties on the call, like to end the conversation, then we'll do a call.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: There are like health reasons why someone might prefer a call.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: So, anyways, those are reasons.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: But otherwise, we're gonna talk about the five-step DM sales flow because it's working really fucking well.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: And next month we're slated to hit 25k, and by the end of the year, it's gonna be 50.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: And it will be.
- 29:03SPEAKER_00: Mark my words, there's no other answer.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: So, all that stuff we're gonna talk about in the challenge, and we will link the thread where you can comment to get into the challenge.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: By the time we do that, you'll probably also have an email sign-up link.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: And if you guys want to talk about the challenge or anything in the episode, just come DM me episode 14.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: That's gonna be the party line, friends.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: Anything that you want to know from a certain episode or talk about, just DM me the number of the episode and we'll go chat about it from there in the DMs.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: Okay, happy Tuesday.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: Thank you guys so much for listening.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: I've told a lot of you this, but it really means a lot to me that like you all are listening.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: It really means a lot to me.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: Like, thank you for listening, but it it means even more to me that this is helpful to you guys.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: So very soon, and I've been doing this anyway, we're gonna do an episode in July where we ask you guys for your specific questions on specific topics and answer them all.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: I've done an episode like that, but I didn't call for those questions.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: You guys just asked them.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: But I really want this podcast to be what you guys need to get from it.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: So, really, really seriously, no bullshit.
- 30:14SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much for listening.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: Um, those of us in Cali and Indianapolis and Alberta in Georgia, in Virginia, in all the places all around this country and other better countries.
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: I love you guys are listening.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: So thank you so much for listening.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: And I want this to be helpful to you all.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: So come DM me and let me know if you have any notes or topics or questions you want answered, and just DM me episode 14 so I know where you are listening.
- 30:41SPEAKER_00: Okay, love you guys, bye.
