• 2:22
  Speaker 4: It's Wednesday morning.
• 2:24
  Speaker 5: Night switch.
• 2:26
Speaker 2: A happy President's Day, by the way, So favorite president?
• 2:33
Speaker 2: Oh we have what's that? Okay? Not the one we have? Okay,
• 2:38
Speaker 2: that's fine, that's fine. See, choose somebody random that nobody
• 2:42
Speaker 2: can argue with. You know, you could say Benjamin Harrison
• 2:45
Speaker 2: or somebody you know, Ulysses Grant.
• 2:47
Speaker 4: You always as a kid, I always liked Garfield just
• 2:51
Speaker 4: because there was a cat named Garfield, and I would
• 2:53
Speaker 4: pretend that they were the same. Right, we were led
• 2:56
  Speaker 4: by a cat.
• 2:57
Speaker 2: All right, nothing wrong with that.
• 3:00
Speaker 6: I have to go with Lincoln.
• 3:01
Speaker 2: Okay, can we get have you come in that microphone
• 3:03
  Speaker 2: a little bit?
• 3:03
  Speaker 7: Oh?
• 3:03
  Speaker 2: Yeah, you have.
• 3:04
Speaker 6: You have to go with Lincoln Lincoln.
• 3:05
Speaker 2: All right, all right, will you okay, there's no right
• 3:07
Speaker 2: or wrong answer. Appreciate it. Appreciate text says Calvin Coolidge
• 3:11
Speaker 2: was their favorite president. So there you go. We'll just
• 3:14
Speaker 2: continue that text throughout the show. Tell us who your
• 3:16
Speaker 2: favorite president is or was? All right, Before we get
• 3:20
Speaker 2: to the I know you want to talk about the
• 3:22
Speaker 2: dad jokes competition we've got, well, but I also want
• 3:24
Speaker 2: to talk about some other things going on with your group.
• 3:26
Speaker 2: For those who may not know, haven't heard you on
• 3:28
Speaker 2: the show in the past, explain the west Side Neighborhood
• 3:30
  Speaker 2: Association to us.
• 3:31
Speaker 4: Well, the west Side Neighborhood Association is and organization has
• 3:35
Speaker 4: been around for thirty years. Whose neighbors coming together to
• 3:38
Speaker 4: organize cleanups and celebrate the west Side, And so we've
• 3:41
Speaker 4: kind of continued that model. We do organized cleanups. Sometimes
• 3:45
Speaker 4: they're fun and they're free and we get the community together.
• 3:48
Speaker 4: Other times we try to make them a little bit
• 3:49
Speaker 4: more fun and have a magician on hand and charcooterie
• 3:53
Speaker 4: and things like that. So we just try to organize
• 3:55
Speaker 4: all these fun events bring people together. Swamp Meets, I mean,
• 3:59
Speaker 4: we have a monthly social where people can come out
• 4:02
Speaker 4: and find about resources that are on the west Side,
• 4:04
Speaker 4: but also meet their neighbors and just take care of
• 4:07
Speaker 4: some problems they might have in their community.
• 4:09
  Speaker 6: And it's it's a good time.
• 4:10
Speaker 2: And it's open to anybody that lives on the west Side.
• 4:12
Speaker 4: When I lives on the west Side, Listen, if you
• 4:15
Speaker 4: live on the East End and you want to help
• 4:16
Speaker 4: us clean up, like, we're not going to turn.
• 4:18
Speaker 5: You, okay, all right?
• 4:19
Speaker 2: Or business owners, I mean, ye, all of it.
• 4:22
  Speaker 4: Everybody.
• 4:22
  Speaker 6: We are.
• 4:23
Speaker 4: We are into building a big community because Charleston's not
• 4:26
Speaker 4: that big of a place, so we all need a
• 4:28
  Speaker 4: rally together.
• 4:29
Speaker 2: Have you been involved in the organization?
• 4:31
Speaker 4: I feel like it's been two and a half years
• 4:33
Speaker 4: at this year in April, it will be two years,
• 4:36
Speaker 4: all right, two years?
• 4:38
Speaker 2: What was it they got you involved in this?
• 4:40
Speaker 8: Samantha Well, I live on the west Side. I love
• 4:43
Speaker 8: I chose my house specifically because I wanted to live
• 4:46
Speaker 8: on the west Side. And I do a lot of
• 4:48
Speaker 8: work on the national and state level, but I really
• 4:52
Speaker 8: wanted to feel connected to my local community. So what
• 4:55
Speaker 8: better way than working for my neighborhood association?
• 4:57
Speaker 2: What is it that makes the west Side the best side?
• 4:59
Speaker 8: Is the same there are so many things that make
• 5:01
Speaker 8: the West Side the best side, including honestly, it's the people.
• 5:04
  Speaker 4: Though.
• 5:05
Speaker 8: One of my first experiences, like even just touring the
• 5:07
Speaker 8: neighborhood was how friendly everyone was, from the folks walking
• 5:10
Speaker 8: on the street to people noticing that I was looking
• 5:14
Speaker 8: for houses. They're like, this is a great place to live,
• 5:17
Speaker 8: and they took the time to talk talk to me
• 5:19
Speaker 8: about the neighborhood. And I'm just like, if people cared this.
• 5:22
Speaker 2: So you're not originally from Charleston, No.
• 5:23
Speaker 8: No, okay, I've lived here eight years though, Okay, so
• 5:25
Speaker 8: all right, there's that.
• 5:26
Speaker 2: Well my point is is because a lot of people
• 5:28
Speaker 2: that live in certain areas wherever it is, you know,
• 5:31
Speaker 2: they said, well I grew up here whatever, But you
• 5:33
Speaker 2: don't have that story. You know, you're not from here,
• 5:35
Speaker 2: but but you chose the West So what about you, Naomi,
• 5:37
  Speaker 2: would you.
• 5:37
Speaker 4: Grow up I grew up in a place called Nuanbag, Germany, Okay,
• 5:42
Speaker 4: and then move here as a teenager, moved southern part
• 5:45
  Speaker 4: of the state.
• 5:46
Speaker 2: And then what part of the southern because I'm a
• 5:48
Speaker 2: southern Lincoln County, Oh yeah, Logan County. Practically neighbors or
• 5:51
Speaker 2: cousins or both that.
• 5:53
Speaker 4: Could be true, that could be Dating in high school
• 5:56
Speaker 4: was difficult, lay enough fiery unions to.
• 6:01
Speaker 2: Not related and suddenly goes off the rails in time
• 6:06
Speaker 2: of the fun girls were here, all right, So you
• 6:08
Speaker 2: got another dad jokes competition? Come up right now? Talk
• 6:11
Speaker 2: about this this second year. You've done this, all right,
• 6:13
Speaker 2: here's sure talk about it.
• 6:14
Speaker 4: Well, we moved it. Originally we had last year around June,
• 6:18
Speaker 4: around Father's So we moved it because there's a lot
• 6:21
Speaker 4: going on in this city in June and we didn't
• 6:23
Speaker 4: want to put an additional strain on everybody. So, you know,
• 6:26
Speaker 4: March is kind of aut like you're trying to get out.
• 6:30
Speaker 4: Sun's coming out a little bit, there's some flowers, so
• 6:32
Speaker 4: we got to do some things.
• 6:33
Speaker 2: Sorry, and so and what is the date again?
• 6:35
  Speaker 6: Saturday?
• 6:36
Speaker 2: I think you charged your microphone off over there?
• 6:38
Speaker 8: Yes, secrets Okay, Saturday, March twenty first, okay, And where's
• 6:42
Speaker 8: it going to be.
• 6:43
Speaker 4: It's going to be at the Capitol Theater. So it'll
• 6:45
Speaker 4: be one two three Summer Streets also known as Resurrection Church.
• 6:48
Speaker 2: All right, So what is it about this that I mean?
• 6:51
Speaker 2: Obviously you did it last year and you had success
• 6:53
Speaker 2: with what actually goes on there in the dad jokes competition.
• 6:56
Speaker 4: Well, we have local folks, regular people off the tell
• 7:00
Speaker 4: dad jokes. They come and they compete, and like, you
• 7:03
Speaker 4: don't have to be a dad, because a dad is
• 7:05
Speaker 4: a vibe. So like men and women, however you identify,
• 7:08
Speaker 4: you're welcome as long so you can tell a corny joke,
• 7:12
Speaker 4: we are here for it.
• 7:13
Speaker 2: We've kind of, I think, adopted that term dad jokes,
• 7:16
Speaker 2: and basically it's just corny normally clean jokes. I mean
• 7:19
Speaker 2: I don't think that they have to be, but normally
• 7:21
Speaker 2: that's what they are. Yeah, that's a good dad joke,
• 7:23
Speaker 2: good puns and things of that nature. How many people
• 7:25
Speaker 2: did you participate? Last year?
• 7:27
Speaker 4: We sold out and then we had some folks that
• 7:31
Speaker 4: got a little strange fright, so they didn't show up.
• 7:33
Speaker 8: Yeah, we had some scaredy cats that I had booked
• 7:36
Speaker 8: ten ten dad joke tellers and then suddenly five had
• 7:41
Speaker 8: excuses the day of cold feet, so to speak. But
• 7:45
Speaker 8: we did have five contestants and they made it a
• 7:47
  Speaker 8: really good show.
• 7:48
Speaker 2: Okay, all right, so what do you look for in
• 7:50
Speaker 2: somebody to participate on?
• 7:52
Speaker 8: Okay, well, so one thing to say, you mentioned clean
• 7:55
Speaker 8: dad jokes that we do look for folks that are
• 7:57
Speaker 8: willing to tell clean dad jokes, but innuendo is fine
• 8:02
Speaker 8: because this is a family friendly audience.
• 8:03
  Speaker 2: PG. Thirteen.
• 8:04
Speaker 6: Yeah. PG thirteen is fine.
• 8:06
Speaker 4: Okay, kind of like think of The Muppet Show, right, like,
• 8:09
Speaker 4: so the Muppets are for adults, but like the kids
• 8:12
Speaker 4: are totally watching it because they're not understanding the inny
• 8:14
  Speaker 4: windows exactly.
• 8:16
Speaker 2: I mean, and I and I grew up, you know,
• 8:17
Speaker 2: in that era when the Muppet Show was first on TV.
• 8:20
Speaker 2: And uh, and you're right about that, because there were
• 8:23
Speaker 2: a lot of jokes that you know, eight year old
• 8:26
Speaker 2: Dave didn't necessarily understand. But I would watch it with
• 8:29
Speaker 2: my grandfather and he he thought it was hilarious. And
• 8:32
Speaker 2: then as I got a little bit older, it's like, okay, well,
• 8:34
Speaker 2: you know that doesn't mean what I thought. It didn't
• 8:35
Speaker 2: mean it's dirty or anything. It was just that where
• 8:37
Speaker 2: there was just some you know, different different level.
• 8:39
Speaker 8: Yeah, there's a meaning tongue in cheek, weink and nod.
• 8:43
Speaker 2: We're talking to Nail, me and Samantha here from the
• 8:45
Speaker 2: West Side Neighborhood Association with Dave Island Show on five
• 8:48
Speaker 2: any Live is broad Toe am part by Bridge Valley
• 8:50
Speaker 2: Community Technical College. This is Bridge Valley dot eedu Bridge
• 8:53
Speaker 2: Valley Community Technical College. Your career starts here, all right?
• 8:56
Speaker 2: So how do people sign up?
• 8:57
Speaker 8: So they can find on the event on Facebook and
• 9:00
Speaker 8: link to our Google forum to sign up. It's very easy,
• 9:03
Speaker 8: and then I review their application.
• 9:05
Speaker 2: All right, So what is on the Applicationcation's very simple.
• 9:08
Speaker 8: One of the things I am asking this year is
• 9:10
Speaker 8: are you are you available? And are you willing to
• 9:14
Speaker 8: perform in front of a live audience, because again some
• 9:19
Speaker 8: people didn't realize, like the Capitol Theater is pretty grant
• 9:22
Speaker 8: when you're on stage, so making sure you're willing for that.
• 9:25
Speaker 8: But basically, they just need to tell me a joke,
• 9:27
Speaker 8: give me their social media. Is that way I can
• 9:28
Speaker 8: vet them and then I will give them a call
• 9:31
Speaker 8: because they also need to see if they can handle
• 9:33
  Speaker 8: it okay.
• 9:33
Speaker 2: Well, And I think that's very because we all know
• 9:36
Speaker 2: those people that are funny. You know, you had that uncle,
• 9:38
Speaker 2: you had that teacher, you know, coworker or whatever, but
• 9:41
Speaker 2: doing it in front of people is a totally different thing.
• 9:43
Speaker 2: I've always I mean I was always like the class
• 9:45
Speaker 2: clown and surprise and all this and all this stuff.
• 9:49
Speaker 2: But the first time I ever and I'm not a
• 9:51
Speaker 2: professional stand up comic by any stretch of the imagination.
• 9:53
Speaker 2: But I have done a few shows with other people
• 9:55
Speaker 2: just because I wanted to, and I did it very
• 9:57
Speaker 2: later in life. I just wanted to try it. It is,
• 10:00
Speaker 2: I've only done four or five because I was like, okay,
• 10:02
Speaker 2: I'm good. You know, that was a totally different world.
• 10:07
Speaker 2: And plus having done this for thirty eight years, I'm
• 10:10
Speaker 2: normally only looking at the people in the studio or
• 10:13
Speaker 2: the people on the other side of the glass. I'm
• 10:15
Speaker 2: not I get texts and I get phone calls and
• 10:18
Speaker 2: so on and so forth, but there's no immediate feedback.
• 10:21
  Speaker 2: It's it's a little bit different, you know, when you're
• 10:24
Speaker 2: when you're on stage. But the good thing about the
• 10:27
Speaker 2: dad jokes thing is you don't necessarily have to bring
• 10:30
Speaker 2: your own jokes. I mean, you can use other people's
• 10:33
Speaker 2: if you want exactly, you.
• 10:34
Speaker 8: Can borrow, you can do your research. Notebooks are fine.
• 10:37
Speaker 8: We're allowed notes on stage.
• 10:38
  Speaker 2: Again.
• 10:39
Speaker 8: Yeah, people aren't professional comedians and that's okay, that's the
• 10:42
Speaker 8: that's the beauty of it. But they just need to
• 10:44
Speaker 8: be willing to perform.
• 10:45
Speaker 4: Yeah, and you don't have to like write all your
• 10:47
Speaker 4: notes on your arm, you know, like you yeah.
• 10:50
Speaker 2: Totally laptop or whatever, you know, whatever works for you.
• 10:53
Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just more about your delivery and just the
• 10:56
Speaker 4: spirit of the whole thing.
• 10:57
Speaker 2: Okay. And uh so last year, was there any certain
• 11:02
Speaker 2: joke that you had never heard before that you remember
• 11:06
Speaker 2: that what really stuck out? Was there one in particular?
• 11:10
Speaker 2: If not, it's fine, it's kind of a kind of
• 11:12
Speaker 2: a sudden question. But I just thought there might be
• 11:14
Speaker 2: one that may have stuck out.
• 11:17
Speaker 8: I think there was a fart fart joke that killed Okay.
• 11:21
Speaker 2: So I guess we can say that on the air. Ryan,
• 11:24
Speaker 2: can we say that? Ryan said it was okay, we
• 11:26
Speaker 2: can say that on the air.
• 11:28
Speaker 6: If you can say it on air, you can say
• 11:29
Speaker 6: it a joke, okay.
• 11:30
Speaker 2: All right, right, all right, So so that was a joke.
• 11:33
Speaker 2: Do you remember what the joke was?
• 11:34
Speaker 8: It was just more I remember, like, like I said,
• 11:37
Speaker 8: we had so many children in the audience, and they
• 11:39
Speaker 8: just were we have rubber chickens that they can punk
• 11:44
  Speaker 8: instead of plopping.
• 11:45
Speaker 2: Okay, And so you make it like Internet, it's like
• 11:47
Speaker 2: the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
• 11:48
Speaker 4: Here, it's very tongs that you can purchase and like
• 11:51
Speaker 4: you can bring clap along.
• 11:53
Speaker 2: Now, what does it does it cost to enter the competition?
• 11:56
  Speaker 9: Oh?
• 11:56
Speaker 6: It's free to enter.
• 11:57
  Speaker 2: That Well, I didn't know, because you're you're trying to
• 11:59
Speaker 2: raise funds, I didn't know whether you charged to enter.
• 12:01
Speaker 4: To be a contestant is free? But you know you
• 12:03
Speaker 4: should bring along your family and everybody.
• 12:05
Speaker 2: Right, yeah, and how much how much does it cost
• 12:07
  Speaker 2: to gain.
• 12:07
Speaker 4: Those will be dollars pre sale and then thirty closer
• 12:12
  Speaker 4: at the.
• 12:12
Speaker 2: Door of the night is show? Okay, all right? So
• 12:16
Speaker 2: I grew up around a lot of dad jokes because
• 12:19
Speaker 2: my dad, well he was a dad number one, but
• 12:21
Speaker 2: he was also a very religious guy, and so all
• 12:24
Speaker 2: of his jokes had to be clean. And he was
• 12:28
Speaker 2: a Sunday school superintendent, and his job was to get
• 12:31
Speaker 2: up and welcome everybody before the minister or in the choir.
• 12:34
Speaker 2: He just welcomed everybody, and he thought it was his
• 12:36
Speaker 2: job to come out and tell a few jokes. And
• 12:39
Speaker 2: at some point, I mean there were a couple of
• 12:41
Speaker 2: jokes that he told that the people were like, okay,
• 12:43
Speaker 2: let's bring the preacher on. Now, we're ready for the preacher. Now,
• 12:47
Speaker 2: one of my dad's jokes that he used to tell,
• 12:49
Speaker 2: and it really he would talk about somebody that was
• 12:52
Speaker 2: a bad singer and he would say, and this is
• 12:54
Speaker 2: all in the delivery. He would say, well, she's sang
• 12:57
Speaker 2: in the key of L. Well it sounds like hell.
• 13:00
Speaker 2: You just got to say that, like, you know, quickly.
• 13:02
Speaker 2: So that was that was one of my dad jokes.
• 13:04
Speaker 6: But the good one.
• 13:05
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, that was one of his. It's not mine.
• 13:10
Speaker 2: You have a nail me? Do you have a favorite
• 13:11
  Speaker 2: dad joke?
• 13:14
Speaker 4: You know, my life is surrounded by dad jokes every time.
• 13:17
Speaker 4: I know social media and everybody around me is telling
• 13:19
Speaker 4: me dad jokes that when I'm asked to be on
• 13:22
Speaker 4: to man, I don't really have one. Okay, that's fine,
• 13:24
Speaker 4: but no way, I have a joke about time travel.
• 13:27
Speaker 2: Okay, you didn't like it. Let's see what you did there?
• 13:33
Speaker 2: All right? So what do you need from the listeners?
• 13:36
Speaker 2: Do you i mean other than to show up? Do
• 13:37
Speaker 2: you need uh? And contestants? Do you need judges? Do
• 13:40
Speaker 2: you need are you good on jokeing?
• 13:42
Speaker 4: Do we have good? We're moving on the judges. We're
• 13:45
Speaker 4: nailing down our final like people see who they're available,
• 13:48
Speaker 4: and so we'll have some what are to the.
• 13:50
Speaker 2: Judges by the way, I mean, how does that.
• 13:52
Speaker 6: Judging work for them?
• 13:54
Speaker 2: Okay, of course you did.
• 13:57
Speaker 8: They are judging on style of the joke delivery and
• 14:01
Speaker 8: then audience feedback, because that's really good that they have
• 14:04
Speaker 8: that rapport with the audience. And we have three rounds
• 14:08
Speaker 8: of the contest, so they're judging at each round.
• 14:11
Speaker 2: Okay, all right, so that means they have to and
• 14:13
Speaker 2: how long do are the performances?
• 14:15
Speaker 8: The first round is a speed round, I believe. I
• 14:18
Speaker 8: think I have it as one minute of straight dad jokes. Okay,
• 14:20
Speaker 8: you just keep them on coming.
• 14:22
Speaker 2: And then so that could be any number though, because
• 14:24
Speaker 2: some of them could be like just quick quick riddles
• 14:26
Speaker 2: and some could be so that could be one joke
• 14:28
Speaker 2: or ten exactly, okay.
• 14:30
Speaker 8: And then round two is extended dad jokes so they
• 14:32
Speaker 8: can tell a little story. And then the final round
• 14:36
Speaker 8: is to determine, like it's like elimination.
• 14:39
Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, and so there's a grand champion, and okay,
• 14:43
Speaker 2: do the second or third place or I just would
• 14:44
  Speaker 2: have one joe.
• 14:45
Speaker 4: Well, last year we tied for first place, really, so
• 14:47
Speaker 4: we had we didn't see that one coming.
• 14:49
Speaker 6: I know they were professionals.
• 14:51
Speaker 2: So they didn't you didn't make them like have a
• 14:54
Speaker 2: have a joke off or anything.
• 14:55
Speaker 6: They did have a joke off and they were It
• 14:58
Speaker 6: went on a little too.
• 14:59
Speaker 4: Long because they were really good. That's so good not laughing.
• 15:05
Speaker 4: So yeah, we just decided to do a tie and
• 15:07
Speaker 4: split up the prizes. So, okay, you get you get
• 15:09
Speaker 4: a crown, you get a sash, you get a hilariously
• 15:12
Speaker 4: cheesy trophy that Sam and I will probably make again
• 15:15
Speaker 4: because we enjoy trying to incorporate crafts whenever we Okay,
• 15:18
Speaker 4: so so you made the trophy, Well we kind of
• 15:21
  Speaker 4: repurposed a trophy.
• 15:22
Speaker 2: Okay, do they get to keep it? I mean okay, yeah.
• 15:25
Speaker 4: Yeah, they get to keep this one of the kind
• 15:27
Speaker 4: piece of art from Samini.
• 15:28
Speaker 8: Yes, dad, things like it was bowling trophy. Maybe this
• 15:32
Speaker 8: year will be wrestling belts.
• 15:33
Speaker 2: Okay, that's good, that's a good idea. I like the sash.
• 15:36
  Speaker 2: I think that's a that's a cool thing to have
• 15:39
  Speaker 2: the sash.
• 15:39
  Speaker 7: Yeah.
• 15:40
Speaker 4: Yeah, so it's just kind of fun. We're just trying
• 15:42
Speaker 4: to make it silly and let people, you know, be
• 15:44
Speaker 4: able to walk around and barbecue with a crown and
• 15:47
Speaker 4: a sash on and it really.
• 15:48
  Speaker 2: Is a good night. I mean it's a good night.
• 15:50
  Speaker 2: It's a good night. It's a good night.
• 15:51
  Speaker 5: Yeah.
• 15:51
Speaker 6: But we just really need contestants, right, Okay.
• 15:53
Speaker 2: So we need contestants, all right, So here's your final
• 15:56
Speaker 2: plug for contestants. Goad go ahead.
• 15:58
Speaker 8: So if you know people who are funny we're telling
• 16:02
Speaker 8: constantly telling you corny jokes, sign you sign them up
• 16:04
Speaker 8: or tell you know, ask them to sign up, because
• 16:07
Speaker 8: we want to see them perform on stage.
• 16:10
  Speaker 6: We are looking.
• 16:10
Speaker 8: Probably we need ten contestants, so this is the time
• 16:13
Speaker 8: to shine. So if people are always talking, oh a
• 16:16
Speaker 8: big game about their dad jokes, Okay, let's put it
• 16:19
  Speaker 8: to the test.
• 16:20
Speaker 6: Let's see if you can be the grand champion.
• 16:22
Speaker 2: Just bring it. Yeah yeah, So how many do you
• 16:25
Speaker 2: have signed up so far?
• 16:26
Speaker 6: I think we have like a good handful.
• 16:27
Speaker 2: So okay, all right, but you're not at ten yet. Yeah,
• 16:29
Speaker 2: and ten's going to be your cutofft because I mean,
• 16:32
Speaker 2: you don't want to have too many because at night
• 16:33
Speaker 2: will go on. How long does the entire thing last?
• 16:35
  Speaker 2: I mean I think it's like just a two hour
• 16:36
Speaker 2: of just a couple of hours.
• 16:38
Speaker 8: It's a fun time that we can go explore downtown,
• 16:40
Speaker 8: have a good night out.
• 16:41
Speaker 4: Yeah, there's an intermission too, so we'll have a stand
• 16:44
Speaker 4: up comedian on stage too, So.
• 16:46
Speaker 2: Like an actual comedian, you go bring in okay, all right,
• 16:49
Speaker 2: and do you do concessions and things like that.
• 16:51
Speaker 4: Okay, they'll be popcorn and the little snacks and things
• 16:54
Speaker 4: like that, and they'll be raffle baskets or prizes and
• 16:56
Speaker 4: giveaways that there will be avail.
• 16:59
Speaker 2: And again, all the proceeds benefit the West Side Neighborhood Association.
• 17:02
Speaker 2: What are some of the projects that you've used the
• 17:04
Speaker 2: money for or your other fundraitions.
• 17:06
Speaker 4: So we use them to purchase more you know, litter pickers,
• 17:11
Speaker 4: trash bags, safety vests for folks. We use it to
• 17:16
Speaker 4: buy more seeds and flowers and things like that and
• 17:19
Speaker 4: just kind of goes into our general you know, I'm
• 17:21
Speaker 4: getting a pizza party together. This year's a special year
• 17:24
Speaker 4: because we've been around for thirty years. So we will
• 17:26
Speaker 4: probably use that money towards some of the bigger campaigns
• 17:29
Speaker 4: that we're doing and doing some oral history and things
• 17:31
  Speaker 4: like that.
• 17:32
Speaker 2: Okay, all right, give us all the details again, give
• 17:34
Speaker 2: us the time, the date and where people learn more,

• 22:01
Speaker 2: Danny Jones is here. Good morning, sir, welcome back, Good morning.
• 22:04
Speaker 2: I had to tell a real quick story to the
• 22:06
Speaker 2: folks here. I hit Charleston around seven this morning, taking
• 22:10
Speaker 2: my time getting off the Virginia Street exit by WSAZ
• 22:13
Speaker 2: and the Hampton End, you know, pulling into town. And
• 22:17
Speaker 2: if you picture this, I am in the far right
• 22:20
Speaker 2: lane because I'm coming off the exit. There's a car
• 22:23
Speaker 2: on the far left side, so basically there's a couple
• 22:26
Speaker 2: of lanes in between us. Me and this other car.
• 22:29
Speaker 2: Look straight ahead and there is a tesla coming the
• 22:33
Speaker 2: wrong way up Virginia Street. I mean, if you can
• 22:38
Speaker 2: picture that, I mean people do it all the time.
• 22:40
Speaker 2: He or she is coming the wrong way up Virginia Street. Basically,
• 22:45
Speaker 2: they split my neighbor and I not really my neighbor,
• 22:49
Speaker 2: but they were in the other lane and so the
• 22:50
Speaker 2: car we basically had to go to the sides so
• 22:53
Speaker 2: the car could go between us. The only thing I
• 22:55
Speaker 2: will say to that driver is I hope you got
• 22:57
Speaker 2: where you're going safely because you dang near cast an
• 23:00
Speaker 2: an accident with two people right there, And I was
• 23:02
Speaker 2: thinking about this, Danny, you're a Charleston guy. I see
• 23:05
Speaker 2: an awful lot of wrongway drivers on Virginia Street. Have
• 23:09
  Speaker 2: you noticed that?
• 23:11
Speaker 5: I see them all over town?
• 23:12
Speaker 2: Well, and I guess maybe it's because there's so much
• 23:14
Speaker 2: on Virginia Street, and you think about it, it goes,
• 23:17
Speaker 2: you know, all the way down to the Capitol. But
• 23:18
  Speaker 2: I can't. I mean, We've stood out here at eleven
• 23:21
Speaker 2: eleven and just seeing people turn out of one of
• 23:23
Speaker 2: the doctor's offices and they just go right back up
• 23:25
Speaker 2: the street. And you would think that the blowing horns
• 23:28
Speaker 2: and the people flashing their lights would be an indication
• 23:31
Speaker 2: that maybe I've screwed up and I should pull to
• 23:33
Speaker 2: the side and go in the opposite direction. But that
• 23:36
Speaker 2: wasn't the case this morning. The tesla just kept right
• 23:38
  Speaker 2: on going.
• 23:39
Speaker 5: Wonder what happened, maybe could or if it ever? I
• 23:43
Speaker 5: hope it. I hope it caught the drift.
• 23:47
Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I hope it turned out okay, is what
• 23:49
Speaker 2: I hope. I wouldn't. Nobody was hurt, all right, So
• 23:51
  Speaker 2: uh house California.
• 23:53
Speaker 5: My friend, it was nice. Okay, I'm going.
• 23:56
  Speaker 2: Back Thursday, Thursday.
• 23:58
Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll be back Sunday.
• 24:00
Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah, that's a long trip to make for just
• 24:03
  Speaker 2: a few days.
• 24:05
  Speaker 5: I got business.
• 24:06
Speaker 12: You got business, yeah, okay, I got business out there. Okay, Well,
• 24:10
Speaker 12: I tell you you, I don't know how the weather
• 24:13
Speaker 12: was when you were there, but it's pretty bad now
• 24:16
Speaker 12: or it's going to be heavy rain in southern California.
• 24:19
Speaker 12: I heard that then, like in the up in the mountains,
• 24:21
Speaker 12: which you're nowhere near there. But if the mountains, they
• 24:23
Speaker 12: were expected in some areas seven feet of snow. You
• 24:25
Speaker 12: ever visited that part of California up in the mountains?
• 24:29
Speaker 2: Stay? So it was nice when you were there. Is
• 24:30
Speaker 2: that what you're saying.
• 24:32
Speaker 5: I'm looking back here in your five degrees.
• 24:35
  Speaker 2: Yeah, last week.
• 24:36
Speaker 5: And I have won my Facebook. I did some Facebook
• 24:40
Speaker 5: videos and I'd hold my phone and let people watch
• 24:46
Speaker 5: a surfer. You know, it was beautiful.
• 24:51
  Speaker 2: So today is President's Day. I have a feeling you've
• 24:56
Speaker 2: talked about before who your favorite president was. But give
• 24:59
Speaker 2: me a couple of others, me a couple of your
• 25:01
Speaker 2: favorite president because you're a historian too, so it doesn't
• 25:03
Speaker 2: have to necessarily be those during your lifetime. Who are
• 25:06
Speaker 2: the most impactful presidents to you?
• 25:08
Speaker 5: The most impact impactful?
• 25:10
Speaker 2: Were your favorite? Either one answered how.
• 25:11
Speaker 5: Let's to impact? Okay, go ahead, George Washington, Yeah, Abraham
• 25:15
Speaker 5: Leca and Franklin delm or Roosevelt.
• 25:18
Speaker 2: Okay, but who are your favorites? Though? Hmm, I didn't
• 25:24
Speaker 2: think it would be that difficult. I thought you just
• 25:26
Speaker 2: said Nixon and then going.
• 25:27
Speaker 5: Away, that's Richard Nixon? Okay, Yeah, he was my favorite?
• 25:32
Speaker 2: What was it about Nixon? Now we all know how
• 25:34
Speaker 2: the Nixon presidency ended the second term with Watergate and
• 25:37
Speaker 2: so on and so forth. But most people historians that
• 25:41
Speaker 2: I have read, have said that, you know, Nixon wasn't perfect,
• 25:46
Speaker 2: and obviously he's going to be remembered for Watergate, but
• 25:50
Speaker 2: he did some really really good things as president.
• 25:53
Speaker 5: I remember when in nineteen seventy seventy one he did
• 26:01
Speaker 5: some stuff that the left really liked. You know, he
• 26:07
Speaker 5: did waging price controls. I think he did it just
• 26:10
Speaker 5: to prove they wouldn't work. He let the dollar float,
• 26:14
Speaker 5: unlike now he had his The head of the FED
• 26:20
Speaker 5: was a guy named Arthur Burns, and Nixon influenced him
• 26:25
Speaker 5: and was able to do some stuff to him that
• 26:30
Speaker 5: in Time magazine maybe Man of the Year. And you'd
• 26:35
Speaker 5: never known in nineteen seventy one that he would have
• 26:44
Speaker 5: three years later he would have had to leave somebody.
• 26:48
Speaker 2: He told me this the other day, and I hope
• 26:50
Speaker 2: I had the date on this right about Nixon's visit
• 26:53
Speaker 2: to China? That when what year was that was that
• 26:59
  Speaker 2: seventy year sive.
• 27:01
  Speaker 5: Seventy two?
• 27:04
Speaker 2: It was? It was definitely May of seventy two. Okay, Well,
• 27:06
Speaker 2: that shoots my story out a heck. Then I was
• 27:08
Speaker 2: gonna tell what were you going to say? Well, somebody
• 27:10
Speaker 2: told me the other day that in May, that in
• 27:13
Speaker 2: nineteen seventy two, that the Buffalo Creek flood, which killed
• 27:17
Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty six people in my home county
• 27:19
Speaker 2: of Logan, wasn't the lead story on the nationwide news.
• 27:22
Speaker 2: That the lead story was the President being in China.
• 27:27
Speaker 2: Buffalo That was in February of seventy two.
• 27:30
Speaker 5: Buffalo Creek was earlier.
• 27:32
Speaker 2: February seventy two. Yeah, it was, okay, yeah, and.
• 27:35
Speaker 5: Maybe I just totally got that stretch went in the spring. Okay,
• 27:39
Speaker 5: tell you a little story about it that Chawing Lie
• 27:44
Speaker 5: greeted him off the plane. He was standing down at
• 27:50
Speaker 5: the bottom. In nineteen fifty four, Chawing and Lie had
• 27:55
Speaker 5: been an agreed, had been at a meeting in one
• 28:00
Speaker 5: of those places in Switzerland where they gathered to make peace,
• 28:06
Speaker 5: and John Foster Dallas wouldn't shake hands with Chung Wah,
• 28:13
Speaker 5: and he wouldn't shake hands with him. So Nixon, when
• 28:17
Speaker 5: he was four steps from the bottom, stuck his hand out.
• 28:24
Speaker 5: He has his hands stuck out four step from the
• 28:27
Speaker 5: bottom when he got off the plane. So to those
• 28:33
Speaker 5: that had gotten in the minutia of history and knew that,
• 28:38
  Speaker 5: they knew, why.
• 28:39
Speaker 2: Can you imagine what that moment would have been like
• 28:41
Speaker 2: now with social media, how it would have been played
• 28:43
Speaker 2: over and over again.
• 28:44
Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, all right, So it was a big
• 28:48
Speaker 5: deal when he did that.
• 28:50
Speaker 2: Who do you think were the worst presidents? Well, and
• 28:55
Speaker 2: here's the thing that's kind of an unfair question when
• 28:57
Speaker 2: you're talking about your favorite or the best or the worst,
• 29:00
Speaker 2: because they've all had good and bad, you know, moments.
• 29:03
Speaker 2: A lot of people considered, although he was a great man,
• 29:06
Speaker 2: a lot of people consider that Jimmy Carter was not
• 29:09
Speaker 2: a good president. Nobody's going to question what an incredible
• 29:12
Speaker 2: human being he was. He wasn't uh but that he
• 29:15
  Speaker 2: wasn't a great president. And I think Joe Biden's gonna
• 29:17
Speaker 2: be remembered that way as well. Politics a side party aside.
• 29:20
Speaker 2: I think Joe Biden will be remembered that way as well.
• 29:24
Speaker 5: Harding, Okay, Wilson was racist. You go back. The guy
• 29:38
Speaker 5: get the bad rap is uh Ulysses s Grant a
• 29:42
Speaker 5: lot of corruption in his administration, and then Andrew Johnson,
• 29:48
Speaker 5: of course he got impeached and kept from being convicted
• 29:53
Speaker 5: by one vote, one vote, one vote, one vote. In
• 30:01
Speaker 5: the middle there you had some guys like Miller Fillmore
• 30:05
Speaker 5: that were just kind of nonexistent.
• 30:09
Speaker 2: So we haven't mentioned the word. The two names that
• 30:12
Speaker 2: haven't come up in either either name neither one of
• 30:16
Speaker 2: these names to come up in our conversations so far
• 30:18
  Speaker 2: Reagan and Trump.
• 30:20
Speaker 5: Well Reagan, I mean I liked Ronald Reagan. I voted
• 30:24
Speaker 5: for him twice, and I liked him.
• 30:28
Speaker 2: My first president I would have I was thinking the
• 30:30
Speaker 2: first president I would have voted for would have been Bush.
• 30:32
Speaker 2: The first because that's when when I was I turned
• 30:35
Speaker 2: eighteen in eighteen eighty eight, so they would have been
• 30:37
  Speaker 2: the first president.
• 30:38
Speaker 5: He was the most qualified.
• 30:39
Speaker 2: Yeah, what about Trump? How's history going to look back
• 30:43
  Speaker 2: on Donald?
• 30:43
Speaker 5: Not? Well? Not well, not in my humble opinion. And
• 30:51
Speaker 5: you know the Kennedy Center, what he's done there. They're
• 30:56
Speaker 5: taking all the Kennedy stuff out of the Kennedy Center.
• 31:00
Speaker 2: I didn't know that. I knew that they were he
• 31:01
Speaker 2: was wanting to change the name. I didn't know he
• 31:03
Speaker 2: was taking this stuff.
• 31:04
Speaker 5: And Maria Shriver is removing all the candis she's doing it. Okay,
• 31:09
Speaker 5: all right, she's removing all of it. And maybe if
• 31:14
Speaker 5: if we have a different president next time, maybe they'll
• 31:18
Speaker 5: move it back in and call the Kennedy Center again.
• 31:21
Speaker 2: Well and perform a lot of performers are canceling too.
• 31:23
  Speaker 2: They're not They're not going.
• 31:25
Speaker 5: There'll be no performers if it's not If if President
• 31:30
Speaker 5: Trump's going to put his name on it like he has,
• 31:34
Speaker 5: people won't perform. I mean, Kid Rock, maybe.
• 31:38
Speaker 2: Did you get get in on all of the super
• 31:40
  Speaker 2: Bowl halftime controversy?
• 31:42
Speaker 5: I was out west.
• 31:44
Speaker 2: Well that's interesting, So what was the I'm sure you
• 31:46
Speaker 2: were with your friends watching the super Bowl. I mean
• 31:49
Speaker 2: I would think that you were what was the what's
• 31:51
Speaker 2: the vibe out west about the Bad Bunny versus the
• 31:54
  Speaker 2: Turning Point.
• 31:55
Speaker 5: Well, they had a huge television and in the the
• 31:59
Speaker 5: house I was, and they were watching Bad Bunny. It
• 32:03
  Speaker 5: wasn't a controversial. I couldn't understand what he was saying.
• 32:11
  Speaker 5: So I don't. I don't know how good a job
• 32:13
Speaker 5: he did. Well, I mean, I'd rather watch the Bohemian.
• 32:18
Speaker 2: Well there was you know again, we talked about this
• 32:21
Speaker 2: last week, Danny and the super Bowl halftime show is
• 32:25
Speaker 2: not designed for your people, your age, or even people
• 32:28
Speaker 2: my age. It's not. It's not who it's designed for.
• 32:31
Speaker 2: Bad Bunny has won a bunch of Grammys. He's one
• 32:33
Speaker 2: of the top selling artists in America right now. So
• 32:36
Speaker 2: be it. I just don't. I mean, we're out of it.
• 32:39
  Speaker 2: I mean we're out of the culture. It's not it's
• 32:41
Speaker 2: not relevant. We're not relevant anymore. And certain in certain ways.
• 32:45
Speaker 5: I got nothing against him.
• 32:46
Speaker 2: No, I don't either, I have nothing against him.
• 32:49
  Speaker 5: I don't. I mean, the Patriots weren't gonna win, and
• 32:54
  Speaker 5: that's to who you're pulling forth And I had a
• 32:56
Speaker 5: chance to get a ride. I went back to the hotel.
• 33:00
Speaker 2: Text says Woodrow Wilson was incapacitated and his wife illegally
• 33:05
  Speaker 2: signed legislation.
• 33:07
Speaker 5: His last year. Yeah, he had a stroke.
• 33:10
Speaker 2: There are a lot of people, and I'll say this
• 33:11
Speaker 2: will take the break. There are a lot of people
• 33:13
Speaker 2: that say that in the last year of the presidency
• 33:15
Speaker 2: that Reagan wasn't there either.
• 33:17
Speaker 5: I don't buy that. You don't buy him.
• 33:19
Speaker 2: No, Texas, Andrew Jackson was pretty terrible. Didn't he tell

Speaker 2: Washington I, followed by Ronald Reagan, Thomas Jefferson, Calvin Coole,
• 35:52
Speaker 2: each and Dwight Eisenhower, with honorable mentioned James Garfield.
• 35:55
Speaker 5: According to a Texter Okay, all right.
• 35:58
Speaker 2: Worst Presidents according to the same text number one, James Buchanan,
• 36:02
Speaker 2: number two Andrew Johnson, three, Jimmy Carter, four Warren Harding,
• 36:07
Speaker 2: and five Joe Biden with honorable mention as worse Franklin Pierce.
• 36:13
Speaker 5: I don't, well there you can and I forgot about Okay, Yeah,
• 36:20
  Speaker 5: that's He's got a good list there.
• 36:23
Speaker 2: All right. Uh, Texas. Trump could be considered one of
• 36:26
Speaker 2: the worst, but also the most transformational in the history
• 36:29
  Speaker 2: of the Union.
• 36:31
Speaker 5: In the Middle East with the Abraham Accords, and uh,
• 36:39
Speaker 5: what's hard to hard to bad mouth what he's done there.
• 36:43
Speaker 2: Yeah, he's really even even some liberals have come out
• 36:46
Speaker 2: who wouldn't give Trump credit if he if he cured cancer, Uh,
• 36:51
Speaker 2: have come out and said that the things he's done
• 36:53
Speaker 2: on the worldwide stage as far as the Middle East, whatever,
• 36:56
Speaker 2: we're pretty good. Well, Donna Brazil of all.
• 36:59
Speaker 5: People I'm critical of he told those protesters in Iran
• 37:06
Speaker 5: that health was help was on the way, and it
• 37:09
Speaker 5: wasn't and uh twenty thousand.
• 37:12
Speaker 2: Yeah. Bill Maher talked about that this past week in
• 37:14
  Speaker 2: his thirty thousand.
• 37:15
Speaker 5: I mean, they couldn't find enough body bags for all
• 37:18
Speaker 5: the people and you had, I mean those people over
• 37:21
Speaker 5: in Iran, they need the Second Amendment.
• 37:24
Speaker 2: They tex says, a liberal professor of mine told me
• 37:29
Speaker 2: that judge that. Okay, let me back up. A liberal
• 37:33
Speaker 2: professor of mine told me that judging presidents twenty years
• 37:37
Speaker 2: after leaving office, so personal feelings are toned down in
• 37:40
Speaker 2: time to see how the policy's fared. So, in other words,
• 37:43
Speaker 2: what they're saying is is that you shouldn't judge somebody
• 37:46
Speaker 2: until maybe twenty years later. And the text was on
• 37:49
Speaker 2: to say Bush forty one is up for judgment at
• 37:51
  Speaker 2: this time.
• 37:54
Speaker 5: Bush, you mean older Bush?
• 38:00
Speaker 2: Well, well, if it was twenty years, I mean it
• 38:04
Speaker 2: will be two thousand and six. That would be the
• 38:06
Speaker 2: year we're looking at it.
• 38:07
Speaker 5: Well, the Iraq War got him, Yeah, I mean it
• 38:10
Speaker 5: was just, uh, I don't know, politely, it was a mistake, Texas.
• 38:15
Speaker 2: President Trump has done more to strengthen this country than
• 38:18
Speaker 2: any other president in my lifetime.
• 38:23
  Speaker 5: I'm sorry.
• 38:26
Speaker 2: So that's your editorial comments.
• 38:29
Speaker 5: I don't was that when he did the the cartoons
• 38:36
Speaker 5: with the Obamas looking like primates?
• 38:38
  Speaker 4: Is that?
• 38:39
Speaker 2: But they'll they'll defend that. Well, they say that it
• 38:42
Speaker 2: wasn't that that there were others involved in that. Yeah,
• 38:47
Speaker 2: that's my kind of my point there's just some lines.
• 38:49
Speaker 2: And look, I'm a First Amendment absolutist. He has every
• 38:53
Speaker 2: right in the world to do that, but doesn't make
• 38:55
Speaker 2: it the right thing to do. You got it? The
• 38:56
Speaker 2: president right exactly. He shouldn't be on social media to
• 38:59
Speaker 2: begin with, and no president should be on social media
• 39:02
Speaker 2: to begin with. In my opinion, tex says. The reason
• 39:05
Speaker 2: there was so much hate towards Trump, look at what
• 39:07
Speaker 2: these people are comfortable and permitted in saying and doing,
• 39:09
Speaker 2: then have the gall to attempt to take some kind
• 39:12
Speaker 2: of moral high ground. It's despicable. Because you don't like
• 39:15
Speaker 2: him personally, you're going to turn a blind eye as
• 39:17
Speaker 2: the nutcases of Minneapolis attack Ice and students across the
• 39:20
Speaker 2: country take part in these walkouts to protest. Ice ended
• 39:23
Speaker 2: up assaulting a parent, and they also hit a man
• 39:25
  Speaker 2: with rocks.
• 39:27
Speaker 5: And I shot two people up there in Minneapolis, and
• 39:34
Speaker 5: that that young man that was murder. That's that's my.
• 39:43
Speaker 2: So I want to switch gears. I want to talk
• 39:45
Speaker 2: about this whole thing with the Nancy Guthrine. You've been
• 39:47
Speaker 2: following that. You said you're out in California. I know
• 39:49
Speaker 2: it's on everywhere. It's one twenty five of the countries
• 39:53
Speaker 2: is kind of it's if this is kind of a
• 39:56
Speaker 2: bad equation, but it's kind of like the modern OJ triud.
• 39:59
Speaker 2: You remember how everybody was about OJ but the but the
• 40:02
Speaker 2: only difference was there wasn't social.
• 40:03
Speaker 5: Media News says twenty four to seven. Okay, I mean
• 40:07
Speaker 5: it's ah and you don't know if they you keep
• 40:14
Speaker 5: thinking you're gonna have progress. But I mean it's been
• 40:18
Speaker 5: what two weeks now.
• 40:19
Speaker 2: The longer it goes, the more dismal, you know, it looks.
• 40:25
Speaker 2: And something that I heard on ABC News, Danny this morning,
• 40:27
Speaker 2: I was driving in this morning. You know, a lot
• 40:29
Speaker 2: has been made about the glove that they found discarded,
• 40:33
Speaker 2: you know, doing DNA testing on it and whatnot. The glove.
• 40:37
Speaker 2: I heard this in the Morning news this morning. The
• 40:39
Speaker 2: glove was one of something like sixteen gloves that they
• 40:43
Speaker 2: found along the roadways. Now they say that many of
• 40:47
Speaker 2: them were discarded by investigators. Now I'm not a crime
• 40:52
Speaker 2: scene CSI kind of guy, Danny, But doesn't that seem weird.
• 40:57
Speaker 2: I'm not saying it's nefarious anyway. I'm just saying that
• 40:59
Speaker 2: the investigators are just tossing gloves right and left. I mean,
• 41:02
Speaker 2: and then it's reckless. I mean it's reckless. It makes
• 41:07
Speaker 2: no sense. And now all the conspiracy theory people have
• 41:10
Speaker 2: gone in because I've read something yesterday and I almost
• 41:13
Speaker 2: don't even want to repeat it because it's like it
• 41:17
Speaker 2: lends more to it. But also that they're trying to
• 41:20
Speaker 2: tie in that that Savannah Guthrie had done an interview
• 41:25
Speaker 2: like one of the last interviews that she did was
• 41:27
Speaker 2: with not Juleene Maxwell, but the other Virginia lady that
• 41:31
Speaker 2: was that was involved in the in the whole Epstein file,
• 41:34
Speaker 2: and and that this was somehow tied to the Epstein file.
• 41:36
Speaker 2: I think this country is so it's got such a
• 41:40
Speaker 2: penchant and such a obsession obsession that's the right word.
• 41:44
Speaker 2: Obsession with the Epstein No matter what happens, it's going
• 41:48
Speaker 2: to be tied into that. But this it is a
• 41:50
Speaker 2: tragic story. But there are people that Danny are just
• 41:54
Speaker 2: bought and they are obsessed with this Nancy Guthrie story.
• 41:57
Speaker 5: And some people are obsessed with the Epstein files.
• 42:00
Speaker 2: Oh no, I mean yeah a lot. And there are
• 42:03
Speaker 2: people that are saying the conspiracy theory of people are saying, well,
• 42:06
Speaker 2: we had to have something to draw attention away from
• 42:08
Speaker 2: the mtbops, I got news for you. The Fsteam files
• 42:10
Speaker 2: ain't going away. It's not going away, and the obsession
• 42:14
Speaker 2: with it is not good anywhere.
• 42:16
Speaker 5: It's okay with me. Bad news doesn't get better with
• 42:20
Speaker 5: the age. Yeah, okay, So Attorney General Bondi and all those.
• 42:25
Speaker 2: I was going to ask you what she thought about
• 42:26
Speaker 2: the Jerry Springer episode last week with me with the
• 42:29
  Speaker 2: trees geral bonding.
• 42:30
Speaker 5: She didn't look good. But they need to get all
• 42:34
Speaker 5: the news out, just all of.
• 42:37
Speaker 2: It, did you? A lot was made over the weekend,
• 42:41
Speaker 2: some of the weekend shows, Danny will do this and
• 42:43
Speaker 2: we'll go to break that during that hearing that she
• 42:46
Speaker 2: was more interested in yelling back and the other side.
• 42:49
Speaker 2: I mean, to be honest with you, the people on
• 42:51
Speaker 2: the that were set behind the desk could have probably
• 42:53
Speaker 2: done a little bit jaw a better job of keeping
• 42:55
Speaker 2: their emotions in check. Okay, but it's a very emotional topic.
• 42:59
Speaker 2: But that she would not look at the victims that
• 43:01
  Speaker 2: were standing there.
• 43:03
Speaker 5: Yeah, I saw that. Yeah, she should have. And the
• 43:08
Speaker 5: people questioning her right or wrong, they have five minutes
• 43:13
Speaker 5: and what they're looking for yes or no answers, and
• 43:17
Speaker 5: what she's trying to do filibuster, so that that just
• 43:22
Speaker 5: doesn't go on with her, goes on for sure, anybody.
• 43:25
Speaker 2: Anybody that's there. Tex says, with rating presidents, it will
• 43:29
Speaker 2: also depend on what standards are you. Some may be

Speaker 2: better domestic and horrible foreign and vice versa. Then that's
• 43:34
Speaker 2: a very good point, okay, Texas. Trump has kept his
• 43:39
Speaker 2: promises that he made during his campaign. Will go down
• 43:41
Speaker 2: as the greatest president of my lifetime. One of those
• 43:44
Speaker 2: promises was fully releasing the Epstein files. Well they haven't
• 43:48
Speaker 2: done it, and that prices were going to go down
• 43:51
Speaker 2: lower on day one, which did not happen. And look,
• 43:54
Speaker 2: you should have never should have never made that promise
• 43:56
  Speaker 2: to begin with.
• 43:56
Speaker 5: Well but let me let me let me defend him.
• 44:00
Speaker 2: All right, go ahead.
• 44:02
Speaker 5: You have a lower rate of inflation than you than
• 44:07
Speaker 5: you had before. What if you want prices to go down,
• 44:11
Speaker 5: you need to either have a recession or a depression.
• 44:15
Speaker 5: Prices aren't going to go down. But he said he
• 44:19
Speaker 5: made he said on day one, prices go down. No
• 44:21
Speaker 5: president can do that. He should have never said it.
• 44:23
Speaker 5: It was a stupid thing to say. He said that
• 44:26
Speaker 5: he was going to end the.
• 44:27
Speaker 2: War in Ukraine and he would release the Epstein file.
• 44:31
Speaker 5: Well, that's their fault. They ought to release them and
• 44:36
Speaker 5: ought to do it on day one. You know, he's
• 44:39
Speaker 5: gotten mad at uh Tim Scott and that Uh Brett,
• 44:46
Speaker 5: Senator Brett from Alabama because they called those pictures of
• 44:52
  Speaker 5: the Obamas race.
• 44:53
Speaker 2: I know Tim Scott did.
• 44:54
Speaker 5: I heard no, she did too, Okay, he said he
• 44:58
  Speaker 5: might primary, you.

• 45:16
  Speaker 2: that's just that's their that's our culture here, and it's
• 45:20
Speaker 2: you can't blame the media for there it is. The
• 45:22
Speaker 2: media is only answering what people are talking about now.
• 45:26
Speaker 5: And I'm curious about it. She's an older lady and
• 45:33
Speaker 5: we can relate to it because what if it happened
• 45:36
Speaker 5: to us, What if our mother, our senior mother, eighty
• 45:42
Speaker 5: four year old mother had been kidnapped? You know, can

Speaker 2: an obsession with conspiracy theories. Look at the Epstein Trump files,
• 48:59
Speaker 2: the president, the wealthiest people on the planet, people at
• 49:01
Speaker 2: the top of their industries. A lot of them are
• 49:03
Speaker 2: in there and had relationships with Epstein. Of course there's
• 49:06
Speaker 2: conspiracies going on when there's an active denial campaign for
• 49:09
Speaker 2: the DOJ about a global child sex trafficking ring. Texas,
• 49:16
Speaker 2: you guys need to look at total forest, not a
• 49:18
Speaker 2: single tree, when evaluating President Trump's effectiveness. To say that again,
• 49:22
Speaker 2: you guys need to look at the total forest and
• 49:25
Speaker 2: not a single tree when evaluating President Trump's effective So,
• 49:29
Speaker 2: in other words, what they're saying is is, don't just
• 49:31
Speaker 2: look at one thing, look at the entire presidency.
• 49:35
Speaker 5: Well, I'm not going to respond to that.
• 49:38
Speaker 2: Texas, to stop trying to legitimize Trump. I didn't think
• 49:41
Speaker 2: it would be possible. But Trump is one hundred times
• 49:43
Speaker 2: worse than w makes George W. Bush look like Jefferson.
• 49:48
Speaker 5: You know, we just saw some on here that I
• 49:50

• 50:07
Speaker 5: had never I had never seen that before. I had
• 50:10
Speaker 5: been watching it. I've been listening to it.
• 50:12
Speaker 2: Tex says, Also, why is WVRC media running an ad
• 50:15
Speaker 2: about Dick Durbin. I know ad revenue is great, but
• 50:18
Speaker 2: what a connection is Dick Durbin have to West Virginia.
• 50:20
Speaker 2: We don't ask questions. We just take their money when
• 50:22
Speaker 2: they ask when they want to run, we don't ask questions.
• 50:25
Speaker 5: There's apparently a bill that people want to kill that
• 50:31
Speaker 5: Durbin that is the sponsor of. Okay, that's what that's about. Yeah,
• 50:36
Speaker 5: and I had national implications having to do with credit cards.
• 50:41
Speaker 2: I want to go back to President Trump just a moment, Danny,
• 50:43
Speaker 2: as we close this out. And there's new polling out
• 50:46
Speaker 2: going back to Ice that says that well over sixty
• 50:48

Speaker 2: the way the ICE deployments have gone and the actions
• 50:54
Speaker 2: across America, well over sixty percent regardless.
• 50:57
Speaker 5: Of party surprised. I think that his style doing things
• 51:06
Speaker 5: is I mean to send three thousand people to Minneapolis
• 51:11
Speaker 5: is pretty strong. I think he's done a good job
• 51:17
Speaker 5: at the border. You know, that's if you want me
• 51:22
Speaker 5: to say something good about him. But sending three thousand
