At age 12, Curtis Almquist had a dream that he was supposed to be a monk. He also considered astronaut, FBI agent, garbage collector, and brain surgeon. It took decades before he found the community where he wept in a guest house room and knew, from both gratitude and fear, that this was the one.
Thirty-eight years later, Brother Curtis is a monk with the Society of Saint John the Evangelist in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and he will tell you, with complete honesty, that he is still working on becoming one.
