- 0:00Speaker 1: Fly from Midtown Manhattan.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Here comes the Mark Simone Show on seven.
- 0:06Speaker 3: Woo Hey, what's today? Thursday? Seems like the week's Oh,
- 0:16Speaker 3: it's been a hell of a week, a lot of
- 0:18Speaker 3: this stressful, draining week because of everything going on. But hey,
- 0:22Speaker 3: we'll get to mom Donnie. We'll also give you the
- 0:25Speaker 3: whole story of how he did this. It's an interesting
- 0:28Speaker 3: behind the scenes story of how he went from zero
- 0:32Speaker 3: to forty one percent to fifty percent and to win
- 0:35Speaker 3: the election with a majority. By the way, with a
- 0:38Speaker 3: majority of the votes. Now, only let me see forty
- 0:43Speaker 3: five percent of New York voted registered voters, which is
- 0:47Speaker 3: actually less than actual population. Out of all the registered
- 0:51Speaker 3: voters in New York, only forty five percent voted. That
- 0:56Speaker 3: was it. But we'll get to the campaign, how it worked.
- 0:58Speaker 3: We'll get to the transition to Nancy Pelosi, she's leaving.
- 1:02Speaker 3: We'll get to the shutdown. We'll get to Oh, MSNBC.
- 1:07Speaker 3: The final week is next week of MSNBC. Then it
- 1:10Speaker 3: switches to this new thing. But we'll explain all of
- 1:12Speaker 3: that coming up. Mam Donnie has picked his transition team. Now,
- 1:19Speaker 3: as we've been telling you, it's a lot of the
- 1:22Speaker 3: Deblasio people. The Deblasio staff came in and helped the
- 1:26Speaker 3: Mam Donnie campaign, and there'll be a big party administration.
- 1:30Speaker 3: So if you're wondering how bad it's going to be,
- 1:33Speaker 3: it will be very, very Deblasio like because a lot
- 1:37Speaker 3: of his people will be involved in this. He's picked
- 1:40Speaker 3: the transition team, Elena Leopold, who was with Mayor Deblasio.
- 1:45Speaker 3: She was his team's executive director, Melanie Hartzog, who's a
- 1:51Speaker 3: former deputy mayor under Deblasio, Lena Kahn, who's former Federal
- 1:57Speaker 3: Trade Commission chare Riha Torres Springer, who was first deputy
- 2:02Speaker 3: mayor to Eric Adams. So it's a lot of the
- 2:05Speaker 3: same people from de Blasio and the couple from Adams.
- 2:08Speaker 3: But people still think it'll be a little worse than Deblasio,
- 2:13Speaker 3: only because Mom Donnie seems even crazier than Deblasio. The billionaires,
- 2:20Speaker 3: all of those big, big, big donors who always get
- 2:22Speaker 3: everything wrong in every election, always backed the wrong candidates,
- 2:25Speaker 3: always do everything wrong. You know, they were busy pushing Cuomo.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Cuomo had wooed them and won them over, and they
- 2:32Speaker 3: were all behind Cuomo who never had a chance. These
- 2:35Speaker 3: billionaires are now all over Mom Donnie, trying to make
- 2:38Speaker 3: peace with him. Bill Ackman tweeting out, well, you know,
- 2:42Speaker 3: let me help anything I can do. I'm here for you,
- 2:44Speaker 3: you know, to Mom Donnie, he was one of the
- 2:48Speaker 3: biggest guys pushing Quota, one of the guys trying the
- 2:51Speaker 3: hardest to get Curtis out of the race. I want
- 2:54Speaker 3: to do everything I can to help you, says Ackman.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Now basically see what happens to Cuomo again. The big,
- 3:02Speaker 3: big donors who made fortunes in their own industry but
- 3:05Speaker 3: are absolute dopes when it comes to politics and always
- 3:09Speaker 3: get it wrong. We're all over Cuomo. I think they're
- 3:10Speaker 3: starting to see that Cuomo was just had no shot
- 3:14Speaker 3: at all. Besides the fact that he left office in
- 3:17Speaker 3: disgrace with a tremendous amount of baggage. He was totally
- 3:21Speaker 3: out of shape politically. He saw it in the first
- 3:24Speaker 3: two months of the campaign. He was just awful, completely
- 3:27Speaker 3: out of shape politically, just didn't know what to do.
- 3:31Speaker 3: So a lot of people turning on Cuomo. Now, even
- 3:33Speaker 3: on the view they were beating up Andrew Cuomo, the
- 3:36Speaker 3: view that kept pushing him, slobbering all over him. Adoring
- 3:40Speaker 3: him the view. Joy Behar said, well, besides saying bad
- 3:48Speaker 3: things about Cuomo, she said, the Trump endorsement was the
- 3:53Speaker 3: kiss of death, absolute kiss of death. Navarro Argue said, no, no,
- 4:01Speaker 3: it's Cuomo himself. Andrew Cuomo is the kiss of death.
- 4:06Speaker 3: You gotta love these democrats the way they just knee jerk,
- 4:09Speaker 3: flip flop on everything they were. They loved Cuomo. Now
- 4:12Speaker 3: he's the kiss of death. Andrew Cuomo, she says. Andrew
- 4:16Speaker 3: Cuomo was running an old nineteen seventies, an old tired campaign.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Mom Donnie was in the twenty first century doing modern
- 4:23Speaker 3: day stuff. He hit the pavement, he caught lightning in
- 4:26Speaker 3: a bottle. He captured the imagination of people. Now even
- 4:32Speaker 3: President Trump get now. He was pushing Cuomo as hard
- 4:35Speaker 3: as he could. He was behind the scenes, trying to
- 4:38Speaker 3: get Curtis out, behind the scenes. He was really really
- 4:42Speaker 3: pushing Cuomo. Now he's turned on him completely. He never
- 4:45Speaker 3: liked him anyway. But the one thing that drives Cuomo
- 4:48Speaker 3: nuts is if you call him a thug. And I
- 4:50Speaker 3: don't blame him, who wants to be called that, But
- 4:53Speaker 3: that's the one that hits a nerve with him. If
- 4:54Speaker 3: you ever call him a thug. He's actually said that
- 4:56Speaker 3: the people you know, and he's if you go after him,
- 5:00Speaker 3: he'll know yell and scream at you. But the one
- 5:02Speaker 3: thing I say, don't call me a thug. I understand it.
- 5:04Speaker 3: I understand he doesn't not want to be called a thug.
- 5:07Speaker 3: It's the one word that really gets him. So yesterday
- 5:12Speaker 3: President Trump speaking to a group of men and women
- 5:15Speaker 3: of Congress Republicans from Congress at a breakfast. Then he
- 5:19Speaker 3: got up and spoke about the election, and he called
- 5:21Speaker 3: Cuomo a thug. Now, I don't think that's a coincidence.
- 5:26Speaker 3: I think I think Trump knew from different various sources
- 5:30Speaker 3: that that's the word Cuomo hates the most. So three
- 5:33Speaker 3: times he called him a thug. And then at one
- 5:36Speaker 3: point he said the whole thing was screwed up. He
- 5:39Speaker 3: asked the voters to choose between a communist or a thug.
- 5:45Speaker 3: So Trump now totally totally turned off on Cuomo. Now,
- 5:52Speaker 3: what's going to happen as far as Trump and Mom Donnie? Well,
- 5:56Speaker 3: you know, Mom Donnie, in that angry victy speech, you know,
- 6:00Speaker 3: he's supposed to make a happy, wonderful victory speech. But
- 6:03Speaker 3: Mom Donnie. It was just awful. It was really angry.
- 6:08Speaker 3: President Trump talked about it.
- 6:09Speaker 2: It was a very angry speech, certainly angry toward me,
- 6:12Speaker 2: and I think he should be very nice to me.
- 6:14Speaker 2: You know, I'm the one that sort of has to
- 6:15Speaker 2: approve a lot of things coming to him. So he's
- 6:18Speaker 2: off to a bad start.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Yeah, he's supposed to be able to work with the government.
- 6:21Speaker 2: I'm so torn because I would like to see the
- 6:23Speaker 2: new mayor do well because I love New York. I
- 6:26Speaker 2: really love New York. When I left New York for Washington,
- 6:29Speaker 2: New York was doing really well, but there were some
- 6:32Speaker 2: bad signs. The bad sign was a guy named the Blasio.
- 6:36Speaker 2: So the signs of the Blasio. That was the beginning,
- 6:39Speaker 2: and it was bad. This one. We're gonna look for
- 6:43Speaker 2: a thousand years. Communism has not worked. It just communism,
- 6:47Speaker 2: or the concept of communism has not worked. I tend
- 6:51Speaker 2: to doubt it's going to work this time.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a very angry speech. I mean, especially
- 6:57Speaker 3: going after Trump.
- 6:58Speaker 1: So hear me, President Trump, when I say this, to
- 7:02Speaker 1: get to any.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Of us, you will have to get through all of.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Us, whatever that means. But he was the smiling salesman,
- 7:11Speaker 3: sort of a guy, and then he was this angry
- 7:13Speaker 3: protester at the speech. Total Jekyl and Hyde on his part.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Now he has said, and he said it yesterday, he
- 7:22Speaker 3: will keep Jessica Tish as police commissioner. That would make
- 7:25Speaker 3: people happy. A lot of people think she's doing a
- 7:26Speaker 3: great job. But he was disagreeing with You know, the
- 7:31Speaker 3: crime wave. You can pretty much see where it was
- 7:34Speaker 3: caused Andrew Cuomo. You got to give him a lot
- 7:37Speaker 3: of credit for causing the crime wave when he pushed
- 7:40Speaker 3: that no bail, no jail, that cashless bail. Cromo is
- 7:44Speaker 3: the one that pushed it. He went out and campaigned
- 7:47Speaker 3: for it, made speeches for it, signed it into law.
- 7:50Speaker 3: And then you add that the no bail, no jail
- 7:52Speaker 3: with Cuomo closing the prisons, letting the prisoners out. Then
- 7:55Speaker 3: you get Alvin Bragg who won't put it but he
- 7:57Speaker 3: in jail. There's your crime wave. That's it. Mom. Donnie
- 8:00Speaker 3: for some reason has been trying to blame it on
- 8:02Speaker 3: the pandemic. Why would the pandemic cause a crime wave?
- 8:08Speaker 3: I don't know. He keeps trying to You know, Jessica
- 8:10Speaker 3: Tish did police commission keeps explaining to him, it's this
- 8:13Speaker 3: cashless bail. Police officials will tell you it's the same
- 8:16Speaker 3: twenty five hundred criminals. They know who they are. They
- 8:19Speaker 3: could round him up in a couple of weeks. It's
- 8:21Speaker 3: the same twenty five hundred committing all the crimes, nothing
- 8:24Speaker 3: to do with the pandemic. But Mom Donnie won't doesn't
- 8:27Speaker 3: believe it.
- 8:27Speaker 4: This is a decision to build on what she has
- 8:31Speaker 4: done in entering Eric Adams's NYPD where he stacked the
- 8:36Speaker 4: upper echelons with corruption.
- 8:38Speaker 3: That's a different cut, wrong cut, wrong cut. But she
- 8:43Speaker 3: argues with the Mom Donnie, it was caused by the
- 8:46Speaker 3: no bail, no jail.
- 8:47Speaker 5: My opinion, crime went up as a result of the
- 8:50Speaker 5: drastic changes we made in our criminal justice laws in
- 8:54Speaker 5: New York State, not as a result of the pandemic.
- 8:58Speaker 3: But he disagrees.
- 8:59Speaker 4: I have a different opinion.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Uh huh.
- 9:01Speaker 1: My opinion is one that looks at the spike in
- 9:06Speaker 1: crime across the country over the course of the pandemic
- 9:10Speaker 1: and sees similar spikes.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Yeah, now this other this was uh she got decided
- 9:17Speaker 3: whether to keep Jessica Tay. She's saying it publicly because
- 9:19Speaker 3: it's maybe because it sounds good, or maybe he really would.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Now we don't know that she would stay and work
- 9:24Speaker 3: for him. You know, a lot of people don't want
- 9:27Speaker 3: to work for him. The fire commissioners a great guy,
- 9:29Speaker 3: Robert Tucker, he just quit. He just announced he's leaving.
- 9:32Speaker 3: So we don't know that she'll want to work with him. Now.
- 9:37Speaker 3: One thing he likes about her. When she took office,
- 9:39Speaker 3: there were a lot of corrupt not a lot, but
- 9:42Speaker 3: there was some corruption in the top level of the NYPD,
- 9:46Speaker 3: some very bad corrupt people there. She had and it's
- 9:49Speaker 3: tough to come in and fire all these people, very
- 9:51Speaker 3: high ranking people, but she cleaned house from the got
- 9:54Speaker 3: rid of these corrupt people, about twenty of them or something.
- 9:57Speaker 3: So he was happy about that.
- 9:59Speaker 4: This is a decision, and to build on what she
- 10:02Speaker 4: has done in entering Eric Adams's NYPD, where he stacked
- 10:08Speaker 4: the upper echelons with corruption and incompetence, she started to
- 10:11Speaker 4: root that out and also reduce crime, and also to
- 10:17Speaker 4: create the Department of Community Safety, and also to disband
- 10:21Speaker 4: the Strategic Response Group, and also to actually follow through
- 10:24Speaker 4: on the exact agenda that we've been running on.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Yeah, now his agenda again that's why I don't know
- 10:30Speaker 3: if she'll stay. He's got these crazy ideas, things like
- 10:32Speaker 3: the strategic response group that's for a mass shooter suddenly
- 10:36Speaker 3: on the scene. You need stuff like that. And he
- 10:38Speaker 3: wants to you know, all this stuff about send social
- 10:41Speaker 3: workers on domestic violence calls. It's absolutely ridiculous and the
- 10:45Speaker 3: NYPD has tried it a dozen times over the last
- 10:48Speaker 3: forty years and it never, ever, ever, ever works. So anyway,
- 10:52Speaker 3: we'll get back to the mirural race. We'll get to Hey,
- 10:54Speaker 3: we'll walk you through. I'll explain to you step by
- 10:56Speaker 3: step how he got to be mayor, how he went
- 10:58Speaker 3: from zero to having fifty percent of the vote. It's
- 11:01Speaker 3: an interesting story. We'll get to that. You should see
- 11:04Speaker 3: the people that are just gushing over Mamdannie. You think
- 11:08Speaker 3: that the Democrats that, well, we got no choice, we
- 11:10Speaker 3: got to vote Democratic. We'll vote for him now. They
- 11:13Speaker 3: love this guy, love this guy. There was Cynthia Nixon
- 11:17Speaker 3: Sex and the City Star. There she was at the
- 11:20Speaker 3: Mam Donnie victory speech, gushing all over him. Mandy Patinkin,
- 11:24Speaker 3: go look at the video. It's up on my Twitter.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Mandy Patinkin makes a video with Mom Donnie just drooling
- 11:30Speaker 3: all over him. How grad he is. Keith McNally. Now,
- 11:33Speaker 3: this is a great restaurant tour Baltasar Pastise, Minetta Tavern
- 11:40Speaker 3: and saw some of the top finest, most expensive restaurants
- 11:43Speaker 3: in New York, he says McNally. McNally says, Mandannie is great.
- 11:48Speaker 3: He's exactly what we need. He's just the person we need.
- 11:51Speaker 3: This is going to be great. It's the dawning of
- 11:54Speaker 3: a wonderful new era. A guy who runs expensive elitist
- 11:59Speaker 3: restaurants on its a socialist. I don't know. You figure
- 12:02Speaker 3: it out. I can't, but it's absolutely insane. Don't panic though,
- 12:09Speaker 3: don't panic again. It could be a lot like the
- 12:12Speaker 3: Deblasio administration. That was eight years of that. We got
- 12:16Speaker 3: through that just fine. We got through the pandemic. We'll
- 12:18Speaker 3: get through this. Hey. Next week is the very final
- 12:23Speaker 3: week of MSNBC. It will not exist after next Friday,
- 12:28Speaker 3: a week from tomorrow. That's it for MSNBC. It will
- 12:31Speaker 3: continue as something else. They're calling it ms now. Yesterday
- 12:37Speaker 3: they gave a little tour of their new studios. Not
- 12:40Speaker 3: only has NBC spun the company off and gotten rid
- 12:43Speaker 3: of it, they've ordered them to get the NBC name
- 12:46Speaker 3: and the logo out of their name. They've also evicted
- 12:50Speaker 3: them from Rockefeller Center. They've been thrown out of the building.
- 12:54Speaker 3: They're going to what they say it's temporary headquarters. It's
- 12:57Speaker 3: kind of nine thousand down from where they are in
- 13:01Speaker 3: Rockefeller Center. The MSNBC studios Rockefeller Center are enormous, big, beautiful,
- 13:08Speaker 3: lavish studios, beautiful green rooms. They're moving to forty third
- 13:14Speaker 3: Street Times Square. It used to be the old New
- 13:16Speaker 3: York Times building. It's kind of an old, old old
- 13:20Speaker 3: Times Square building. They'll be in there. They unveiled the
- 13:22Speaker 3: new facilities. It's small studios, not like that big you know,
- 13:26Speaker 3: that MSNBC studio when they would do that wide shot,
- 13:29Speaker 3: how big it was. Well, it's a small studio. I
- 13:32Speaker 3: actually have three studios, but they're three small, small studios.
- 13:36Speaker 3: They say it's going to be more efficient. It's going
- 13:38Speaker 3: to be cheaper, is what it means. Cheaper. It's going
- 13:41Speaker 3: to be much cheaper. So next Friday is the last day,
- 13:45Speaker 3: Friday to fifteenth, and then I guess on Saturday it'll start.
- 13:48Speaker 3: You'll see, and it'll be in this small little studio.
- 13:50Speaker 3: It'll be called ms NOW and everything has been cut
- 13:54Speaker 3: from you know, they have a resources of NBC News
- 13:58Speaker 3: with correspondence and bureau all over the world that can
- 14:01Speaker 3: turn to the vast resources of NBC News. They'll be
- 14:04Speaker 3: losing that too, So I don't know what they'll do.
- 14:07Speaker 3: You can make a deal with these networks to use
- 14:09Speaker 3: their you can be an affiliate of theirs. So they
- 14:13Speaker 3: may try doing that, but it's going to be a
- 14:15Speaker 3: whole different place. MS now. It'll start a week from
- 14:20Speaker 3: from Saturday. Hey, other good news, Nancy Pelosi retires. You
- 14:25Speaker 3: know she's now one hundred and thirty seven years old,
- 14:28Speaker 3: and said, yeah, it's time. Actually we see eighty five.
- 14:31Speaker 3: She's eighty five years old. She retires a very very
- 14:35Speaker 3: very very powerful figure in the Democratic Party in Washington,
- 14:38Speaker 3: d C. So it's a big thing that she's leaving. Also,
- 14:41Speaker 3: give her credit. She was the greatest stock trader insiding
- 14:46Speaker 3: and when it comes to insider trading, she was the
- 14:49Speaker 3: Warren Buffett of insider trading. A lot of these people
- 14:53Speaker 3: you're allowed to do it. It's legal in Congress. You're
- 14:55Speaker 3: allowed to engage in insider trading. And if you're in Congress,
- 14:59Speaker 3: you get all kinds of information ahead of the public
- 15:01Speaker 3: about FDA approval or test results or somebody's going to
- 15:06Speaker 3: get a contract. You really have inside information way ahead
- 15:10Speaker 3: of the public, and it's legal. I don't know why
- 15:12Speaker 3: they haven't changed this law. Well we do, because Congress
- 15:14Speaker 3: would have to change it. You're allowed to engage in
- 15:16Speaker 3: insider trading, and that's how somebody like Mikey Cheryl doesn't
- 15:20Speaker 3: know what the hell she's doing, suddenly makes seven million
- 15:23Speaker 3: in a stock trade. But give Pelosi credit. She's the
- 15:26Speaker 3: Warren Buffett of insider trading, probably set the all time record,
- 15:30Speaker 3: got herself up to I think eight hundred million with
- 15:32Speaker 3: the insider trading, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of millions. Anyway,
- 15:37Speaker 3: we'll get back to mom, Donnie. We've got a lot
- 15:39Speaker 3: to talk about. We'll get to that coming up, and
- 15:42Speaker 3: we'll take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three to two
- 15:45Speaker 3: one zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three
- 15:49Speaker 3: two one zero seven ten
