- 0:21Everyone. I'm welcome to bless His Best Country Grum podcast. I don't care
- 0:24who was study Stu. Hey, all right, so we're back with you
- 0:26this episode. We're going to Louisiana and uh yeah, so head heading home
- 0:33this episode um kind of home, kind of home, well, I mean
- 0:37Louisiana. It's in South Louisiana at least. Well yeah, I'm not saying
- 0:41home like the city. I'm talking about the state. Still work. Jesus
- 0:45Christ, Oh my god, is this gonna be the episode we were we
- 0:49are had to take We tried to take family photos today, like we're talking.
- 0:53D I y because I'm too cheap to pay someone to do such things.
- 0:58I did one time. I did like one of those mini sessions or
- 1:00whatever. But yeah, because photos are like three or four hundred dollars more
- 1:07for like a family photo session. Anyway, so we just set our tripod
- 1:10up and we like take photos in our backyard. And that was a catastrophe,
- 1:14let me tell you. There was a total meltdown on my behalf because
- 1:21Stewart was being an idiot per usual. I don't think so. Yeah,
- 1:26I said, take the whole thing down. We'll just figure it out with
- 1:27whatever we got and everything, and then I came back in. I've made
- 1:30him send me the photos in anger as he as he was out in the
- 1:34garage working something, I was like, hey, send me the stupid photos.
- 1:40We're done. We're not done, and I'm taking anymore. And then
- 1:42I got inside. I looked at the photos. I'm like, these are
- 1:45terrible. You set the camera up too far away. So anyway, so
- 1:47we had to read. I made him read, set up the tripod,
- 1:51and then made everybody go back outside. And when I say make everybody,
- 1:55it's the baby and the toddler. They don't really have a choice. I
- 1:57mean they can be carried. It's still at this point. So everyone went
- 2:00back outside and we took the photos and we got some okay ones. Not
- 2:07our best work. We do pretty good with our DIY photo shoots usually,
- 2:10but this one was just okay. I would say, is that That's what
- 2:15I would say. I'm just long for the ride. I know you're just
- 2:17long for the ride. You just keep screwing it up, So that's what
- 2:20I do. You're along for the ride. You keep like grab it at
- 2:23the steering wheel, trying to turn us into the ditch. And I mean,
- 2:28yes, that's you telling me to hold the wheel while you pour another
- 2:30wine. Whatever, Stewart, our pool is green, and whose fault is
- 2:38that? That's our fault. Stu has a couple of jobs around this house.
- 2:42One is take out the trash, two is clean the cat boxes,
- 2:45and three is keep the pool blue. And you know what, he didn't
- 2:47do any of those things. I had to take out the trash this week.
- 2:52Oh you did clean the cat boxes. But the pool is green while
- 2:54I shocked it. So yeah, you've shocked me a couple of times something.
- 2:59That's why they call it the shock the stuff. What's wrong with you?
- 3:02Oh my god? All right, so moving on, let's get back
- 3:07on task. Do you have names of our We're still working through our Patreon
- 3:12lists, so Stuart, do you have the next people? Yes? I
- 3:15do that. We're very appreciative of everybody, so just fy. We have

- 3:36give us a little tip tippy bartenders, waitresses and podcast. Yeah, that's
- 3:39what Stewart's motto is. You'll see it on a T shirt around you soon.
- 3:46Yeah. And then also, just like us on Facebook on Instagram,
- 3:50I do all sorts of little things on there, like recipes just general are
- 3:53happening with our lives and things like that. And so anyway, so Stu,
- 3:59you want to read us. We're going to go through a couple names
- 4:00each each episode until we catch up, and then we'll do all the newest
- 4:04patreons. So go ahead, I got one. I guess it's a nickname,
- 4:08Hi Hia Sack. You don't know if that's a nickname. That could
- 4:12be someone could Kathy T, Tony M. Brooklyn h All right, Well,
- 4:17we thank you all for being patrons and we really appreciate the support.
- 4:23And I guess without further ado, we'll get into this episode coming out of
- 4:27Louisiana. Corey Carl Kitts was born September seventh, nineteen sixty nine and plaquemind
- 4:33Louisiana to Michael and Plaque, What do you want around? Hi? In
- 4:39a firm round here? Stewart say, hat Plaque aman, whatever you know
- 4:44what I'm from Texas. I still say things wrong over here. I didn't.
- 4:47I've never claimed. I'll be around people and they'd be like, oh,
- 4:50yeah, I'm from Louisiana, and I'll say, oh yeah, I
- 4:53live in Louisiana. Where they're like, oh, we're We're all Louisianas and
- 4:56stuff like that. I'm like, no, I don't know. I still
- 4:58say when I first out here, I called it Malankin it's Malan song.
- 5:01I don't know. I don't know these things. And I also said Richard
- 5:06and it's re Shard all right. So Placaman, yeah, correct, correct,
- 5:12Plaquaman, Louisiana to Michael and Patricia Kitts. Now. Corey would attend
- 5:16Placaman High School, where he was a member of the band. He would
- 5:19graduate in nineteen eighty seven, but would take his love a band with him
- 5:23to Southern University, where he was in the marching band. That's hard course,
- 5:28due the marching band. Yes, even in Yeah, in high school
- 5:33it's hard work, and then in college it's like next level. Like I
- 5:36mean, it's physical. You have to be able to play an instrument and
- 5:40still have the like physicality to go out on a field and like sweating holding
- 5:44that equipment or whatever in those like tacky polyester yes in march and stuff of
- 5:51that. I mean it's a lot, Yes, it's oh yeah, I've
- 5:56seen him out there, Like whenever I was in college, I'd look out
- 5:58there and they'd be practicing and it would be storming and they'll just be out
- 6:00there still going. I'm like, dang, you guys are dedicated. Okay.
- 6:03So Corey he would meet a woman and have a daughter in her name
- 6:08with Courtney, but the relationship would not work out. Corey would go back
- 6:12to a woman he had known in high school and her name was Monique,
- 6:15who he married and had two children with, named Dory and Corey Junior.
- 6:19So there's Corey, Dory and Corey Junior. I'm not going to say anything
- 6:24because they're children and that's their name, and I'm just gonna move on.
- 6:28So Corey was described as hard working, kind and loving. He frequently joked
- 6:32around with his children and they said he was just one of those people that's
- 6:35like never down, he's always happy, always the jokes or are always trying
- 6:40to make everybody laugh. You know, you know those people. I'm not
- 6:43one of them. You just come in and you look at me and you're
- 6:45like, oh my god, she's like a bit chicken. But he's just
- 6:46like up. He's that guy that's up all the time. Now, Corey
- 6:50was working nights at Shintech Incorporated, where they produced polyvinyl chloride, which is
- 6:56also known as PVC. Stewart now Corey he would also pick up construction jobs
- 7:01on the side to make a little extra money here and there. His wife,
- 7:04Monique, she ran a daycare in town. Now the family lived in
- 7:08a very nice three thousand square foot home at thirty one twenty three River Landing
- 7:13Drive in Addas, Louisiana. And this is a home that they built brand
- 7:17new for themselves in two thousand and five. And this is a nice house.
- 7:19I looked it up on Zillo. It's like two stories called like balconies.
- 7:24It's like worth like four hundred thousand dollars right now. Nice, just
- 7:27except for the two stories and I don't want to drag myself up a flight
- 7:30of stars. Also the fact that there's going to be a dead body in
- 7:32there. But he just ket Carpus claim, Yeah, yeah, it's like
- 7:38a nice It was a really nice house. On June ninth, twenty ten,
- 7:42Addis Police Department. We're called to the Kits home due to a report
- 7:46it theft. When Corey came home from his night shift, he had asked
- 7:48Monique to withdraw four thousand dollars from the bank for an upcoming family vacation.
- 7:55Yeah. I think they were a plan on going to Disney World, I
- 7:58believe is what the plan was. Disney World. Yeah, gee, I
- 8:03don't know. Well this was two thousand, this was what twenty ten.
- 8:05I don't cost us four a grand for a day, didn't, No,
- 8:09it didn't. Jesus, I would have never gone. But yeah, kind
- 8:11of close though, but it was. I mean, I'm sorry. I
- 8:16know there's people that are like hardcore Disney people and stuff like that. I'd
- 8:18never been to Disney World or Disneyland like that wasn't like in the budget when
- 8:22I was a child, that was like pipe dreams. So I was like,
- 8:26when I got to be an adult, I was like, oh my
- 8:28god, I'm going to Disney World. So mean and stew We're supposed to
- 8:30go. He had a work trip down to our land and we were supposed
- 8:33to go for like a couple days, like a day or something. It
- 8:37was going to work out and then I wanted to go to like Harry Potter
- 8:39World and Universal Studios away. So I was just going to go to the
- 8:41main park, which was called someone screaming it right now into their headphones.
- 8:46Um, what's the main park Disney World. I don't know anyways, the
- 8:50main one with the Princess Castle anyway, so I know someone's so angry right
- 8:56now, sir. You know there's someone is so lividly angry about this.
- 9:00And I'm not even gonna look it up. No, I'm not gonna anyways,
- 9:05like it's a small world or something. I don't know what it was
- 9:07called. So anyway, so the main we were just gonna go to the
- 9:11main one or whatever. So we got the I bought the day tickets or
- 9:13whatever, and it's like two hundred something dollars for just one day per person,
- 9:18per person, Yes, because this is ridiculous. This is insane,
- 9:24Like why is it? It's not that magical of an experience. So anyways,
- 9:28what happened was COVID happened. Everything got canceled, so I had this
- 9:30credit or whatever to go and do this later because they wouldn't give you a
- 9:33goddamn no, they wouldn't give you a refund for sure. They're like,
- 9:35no, you can have a credit, a cash credit to go and do
- 9:39this later. So anyway, so that we went back last year a year
- 9:43ago, we were found like, okay, I need to use this because
- 9:45they had a time limit for you to use the actual cash and it came
- 9:48out to like, for one day, it was like five hundred dollars for
- 9:50two people. So we went I don't remember the oh, it's just a
- 9:56Disney's expensive and I felt it was so over crowded. We only rode.
- 10:01I mean, we didn't have our talk. I was pregnant at the time,
- 10:03and we didn't have our toddler. She was what fifteen months old or
- 10:07something like that, but still we only rode the teacups. The only reason
- 10:09we got on the teacups because the stupid thing broke down so the lyne everybody
- 10:13left and we happened to be standing there when they started it back up and
- 10:16got it working. So we wrote the teacups. The rest of the time,
- 10:20we just walked around and ate food that was overpriced, and I bought
- 10:24I went ahead and added the like day pass or whatever so you could hop
- 10:26parks because I was like, we might need to get out of this,
- 10:30like whatever the main park is called and go over. Epcot was the second
- 10:35one, I think. I think that's the other one, and they were
- 10:37doing that like Garden. They had like the garden thing. They had all
- 10:39the flowers that were like shaped as all the animals stuff, and you could
- 10:43walk around and eat all the food for a for a price for sure,
- 10:48but it was like six dollars per thing. Yeah, so Disney World is
- 10:50freaking ridiculous. I'm sorry. I probably never go back, Like, I
- 10:54mean, it's just insane and it was overcrowded and maybe I didn't maybe we
- 10:58didn't do it right, I don't. I'm sure we didn't. All right,
- 11:01I'm sure. I'm sure we'll get some tips in our email. We
- 11:03will people that love the Disney Yeah, no, it wasn't. It wasn't
- 11:07for us. No. I'm definitely going back to Universal though, or not
- 11:11back to two Universal, because I got to go to the Harry Potter World.
- 11:15It's probably just as terrible. But they done fucked us over because now
- 11:16they split the Harry Potter World into two parks, So now you can't just
- 11:20go for one day. You got to go for at least two days or
- 11:24pay the exorbitant fee to be able to park. Hop it's a scam,
- 11:28Stewart, I'm telling you anyway, maybe we want to just go to the
- 11:33real Hawkwarts. We did, we kind of did what how was a joke?
- 11:39And now you're going to talk about Oh, let's talk about Scotland.
- 11:41So that's not all right. I'm moving on from Disney World. We've just
- 11:46lost like all the Disney diehards because I didn't know. I still don't know
- 11:50the name of that park. What's the name of the me I'm not if
- 11:52you want to look at up, Okay, go ahead and you continue on
- 11:56anyway. That's where the four thousand dollars was supposed to be for was the
- 11:58go of this dang Disney World. But when he woke up, there was
- 12:05not four thousand dollars on the nightstand, so he starts looking around. It's
- 12:09like a hooker like or we're gonna allowed to use that word term a mistress
- 12:15like lead the money on the nightstand. Oh and that would be your prostitute,
- 12:20your hookers, your sex workers. Steward, Jesus, you're gonna get
- 12:24a canceled. You put it on the nightstandard. Do you know this from?
- 12:30Well, that's that's what I've seen in the movies. Oh yeah,
- 12:33Magic Kingdom. That's the name of the main park, Magic Kingdom. There's
- 12:37Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. You're killing me,
- 12:43okay with your silliness. You're silly. Anyway, he calls Monique.
- 12:50She says she put the money on the nightstand like he asked. Concerned that
- 12:52someone stole the money, Corey calls nine one one to ask for an officer
- 12:56to come out to the house to investigate a potential break in. A police
- 13:01officer was despatch when he When he arrived at around seven forty pm, no
- 13:05one was home. Yeah, see, there were some There was some not
- 13:09a lot of clarity on the timeframe, I guess because it wasn't an active
- 13:13robbery. I don't know if there was a space. But then one of
- 13:16the officers said that he showed up within an hour, so I don't really
- 13:18know. But Corey did have to go to work and so there wasn't anybody
- 13:22at the house at the time. Yeah, and about twenty minutes later Monique
- 13:26does arrived to speak to that. I'm surprised, he waited twenty minutes,
- 13:28mate, it's what has he got to do? It's Addis Louisiana. He's
- 13:31like, this is the biggest call we got all day. I'd go somewhere
- 13:35else. Well, kind of what is happening in Addis Louisiana. I'm something
- 13:39that I'm not going to stand at somebody's for twenty minutes. Okay, well
- 13:43whatever, I'll go play on my phone or something. He's a dedicated officers
- 13:46twenty ten, you can go play snake or something on your phone at this
- 13:50time. Maybe he was playing a different kind of snake. Well, if
- 13:52he was, he wouldn't be waiting there twenty minutes, but he was because
- 13:56Monique showed up and she did speak to the officer. She tells him that
- 13:58she left the money on the nightstand next to her sleeping husband. The officer
- 14:03asked to come inside to see where the money had been stolen from, but
- 14:07Monique would not let him in. Now she said she didn't want to wait
- 14:11to frighten her daughter, Dory, who was seventeen at the time, and
- 14:15the officer asked her about a red car reportedly seen across the street in a
- 14:18vacant lot. Monique says that she did see the vehicle and believed it was
- 14:22a grand Dam. The officer did ask if he could speak to Corey,
- 14:28but Monique would not give the officer Corey's phone number. Yeah, I guess
- 14:31the cop did do some like reconnaissance through the neighborhood and did find out there
- 14:37was a report of a red vehicle. There was like a because their house
- 14:41was a new build, so you know, there's vacant lots in the neighborhood,
- 14:45and apparently there was a red green dam parts across the street which looked
- 14:48suspicious. Also, I'd like to add dor I'm I'm not gonna see.
- 14:52But this was after finding Nemo was put out, like thanks, she found
- 14:56a boyfriend named Nemo. I don't know. Wow, I know a guy
- 15:01named neama On everybody calls him Nemo. So I'm just questioning about the name
- 15:05Dory. I'm just asking questions, That's all I'm saying, like j just
- 15:11asking questions, asking questions, asking questions. All right, So Red Grandam
- 15:20let him in the house making fun of doing No, I did not making
- 15:24fun of it. I just asking had already come out. They were Disney
- 15:28World fans, so maybe maybe they wanted a name or after Dory. Fine,
- 15:33cool, that's what floats. Your boat swims, the ocean never stops.
- 15:39Then keep going, just keep swimming. Now I don't know where I
- 15:48was because you went off on a tangent. Oh yeah, money Moneyque would
- 15:52not give Corey phone number to the police officer. She told the officer she
- 15:58would have Corey saw him, which he never did. It was later reported
- 16:03by Monique to police that the four thousand dollars was found in the washing machine
- 16:07and the police department closed the case on missing four gees. Yeah, and
- 16:12this was Monique calling it in, not Cory. This was Monique saying the
- 16:15four thousand. Just keep that in mind. Friends out there, this is
- 16:18Monique doing all this. You would think that follow up with Corey who made
- 16:22the complaint, and say hey, do you ever find four jan No,
- 16:25it's not their response. But the wife says they found it. Then this
- 16:27is not like some high crime, Stewart, it is a high crime.
- 16:30If I'm a fish wasn't stolen like nothing. He's not in a fish tank
- 16:37in some dentist office like nothing happened in Australia. Anyways, we have to
- 16:42stop story. You need to stop you need to stop. On July nine
- 16:48to twenty ten, and this is one month after the initial incident with the
- 16:52four thousand dollars being stolen, Monique Dorry and Corey Junior came home for lunch
- 16:57around twelve thirty. Now, upon entering the home, they see glass all
- 17:03over the ground, like broken everything. They know something immediately, something is
- 17:07wrong. They make their way to the bedroom looking for Corey. Now,
- 17:11he's normally up by noon every day. Like I said, he works at
- 17:15night shift and his normal sleep patterns. He comes in, he sleeps,
- 17:18and he sets an alarm for around noon and he's up, says his twelve
- 17:21thirty pm. He should be a getting up making himself, probably a sandwich,
- 17:23I don't know, Stewart up coughing, yeah, something. So they
- 17:27enter the bedroom and they see Corey lying on the bed and he's not moving.
- 17:30They approach him and see blood all over the pillow, and it's clear
- 17:34that Corey is dead. Now, Manique calls nine one one and tells the
- 17:38dispatcher her husband is bleeding from the ear and you can hear the children screaming
- 17:42in the background. Now, the operator was concerned that the intruder might still
- 17:47be in the house. So she tells them to lock themselves in the room
- 17:49and wait for a police. Which this is highly traumatic for the children because
- 17:52now they've had too they're worried that there's somebody. First of all, their
- 17:56dad's dead laying in the bed bleeding. Now they have to lock theirselves in
- 18:00the room with his dead body in the bed, and they're worried that the
- 18:06person who killed him is still in the house and could be coming in attacking
- 18:08them next And while they're waiting for a police I mean, this is bad
- 18:11all around, Like, this is a very traumatic experience to have to go
- 18:15through for two young children, wouldn't Yeah, that is it's like making a
- 18:22bad situation. It's already you found your dad dead. Now you've got to
- 18:25add this this extra layer on there to deal with that somebody might be coming
- 18:30for you. And I'm in here with me, yeah, because normally you'd
- 18:32be like if you found a drudge, you could like come out of the
- 18:34house and you'd be a leave. Yeah. And the nim One one opera,
- 18:37he's like, lock yourself in. I don't know if that's the best
- 18:41plan though, I'm not sure if I would have listen to the nim on
- 18:44one offera, be like, I need to get out of here. We're
- 18:47gonna run. But we just walked through the house and nobody attacked us.
- 18:48Let's just run back out the way we came. That's what I would have
- 18:52done, personally, I would. I mean, the nim one one operator
- 18:55isn't like the be all indoll for like Home Survival or whatever if an intruder
- 18:59is in there. But what if it was Jennifer Love Hughitt telling you what
- 19:02to do? Did did she do that in a movie? I don't know.
- 19:06Doesn't she nine one one operate on some show you watch? Oh?
- 19:10She did? She does? It's the show is called nine one one?
- 19:12Well, uh, yeah, I haven't. I didn't. I haven't watched
- 19:18the last season though, but I do love that show. It's one of
- 19:19the Yeah, it's one of my only I only watch a few. I
- 19:22watch a lot of reality TV, but there's only a few shows that I
- 19:26watched it aren't reality. It's like, well, if she tell me to
- 19:29do something, mine probably do. I'm sure you would, Stewart, you
- 19:32sick beastard. Police arrive on the scene and they entered the home guns drawn,
- 19:37guns drawn, Stewart. Now, they entered the bedroom and they moved
- 19:41the kids family out of the house and they start working on clear in the
- 19:45rest of the home. Now, I did feel in the show I watched,
- 19:48I did feel very sorry for the children because this was a traumatic experience.
- 19:52Like I said, Dad's dead in the bed, locked in the room,
- 19:56Warner Mature. And then they come in and there's like police coming in,
- 19:59like they have to come in guns drawn because they're worried about what if
- 20:03there's somebody in there holding this family up or doing something. But they were
- 20:06they you know, they quickly escorted the family out. But I mean all
- 20:10around, I felt really bad for the children in this whole situation. Yeah,
- 20:12it's got to be just completely and whoever set this situation up is a
- 20:17terrible human being. I'm just gonna say that right now, Art, do
- 20:21you think so, yes, because you think they knew the children would be
- 20:23there. I'm just we'll just we'll just move on a little foreshadowing. Yeah,
- 20:30Now it appears that the intruder is no longer in the home, so
- 20:33the police secure of the house. Detect us from both the Addas Police Department
- 20:37and West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's office. That's a mouthful, right yeah,
- 20:42And those the initials for West Baton Rouge Parish Shriff's Office office like in the
- 20:49court documents are w B R P S O w P W b R S
- 20:56b r P S. It's a lot. It's a lot. So they're
- 21:00both on scene to investigate this crime. Upon entry, they noticed there is
- 21:04no apparent means of forced entry or exit, which I don't know why they'd
- 21:10be forced exit, but you never know, stupart would someone could have broken
- 21:14through the front. The family comes in, scarees some startsmen. They break
- 21:18out of the bag, just jump out the window. They also saw several
- 21:22items of misplaced furniture as well as broken glass, coins and many other items
- 21:27all over the floor. It's just a mess. It looks like someone just
- 21:30came in and had like a rader and just throw everything around, is what
- 21:33it looks like. Yeah. Yeah. They also see items of value as
- 21:37well as a small amount of cash lying out in playing site. This tracks
- 21:41police as odd because it was I can't even say system suspected suspected burgarly gone
- 21:48wrong. Yes, now I mean if I wasn't, because because why else
- 21:52would someone just come in and shoot somebody. So that's what they're saying.
- 21:55I mean, if anybody, if you if I came in and found you
- 21:57dead in the bed and I knew why didn't plan it, then I'd be
- 22:00like, hey, I think maybe someone broke in and tried to like rob
- 22:03the place and didn't realize somebody who was actually home. You know. Well,
- 22:07I would say if I was just there for petty theft and I ended
- 22:10up killing somebody, I'd probably just leave. I wouldn't take nothing. Yeah,
- 22:12but you might have taken it on the way up to kill the person
- 22:15or accidentally killing the person. No, I was in there, like looking
- 22:18around. They're like, hey, what are you doing. I'm like,
- 22:21oh shit, bang bang, oh crap. But in bed they discovered if
- 22:26if it was a burglary, maybe they were in the in his bedroom they
- 22:30didn't notice he was in bed. They were going through a sock drawer looking
- 22:32for his money, and they were like, they wouldn't like hash on there.
- 22:36But what it was. What they're saying is that the entryway into the
- 22:38home was all disarrayed, like someone had been turning it over looking for things,
- 22:44and or like something had happened down there, and there's cash ling and
- 22:48plain side. If I'm walking through and I'm robbing the place, then yeah,
- 22:51I'm gonna rob the cash as I go, as might work my way
- 22:53through the home and then find the man in the bed that I didn't expect
- 22:56to be there and then kill him. But I'm not gonna be like,
- 23:00well, let me go put that cash back that I already took. A
- 23:04dumb ass. You couldn't even make it as a criminal. Whoa zing,
- 23:10Yeah I went there. That is low okay, so anyway your intelligence,
- 23:17but wow. They find the shell casings in the bedroom, the way they
- 23:26were there, the way they were they found them position. It appeared the
- 23:33shooter was was standing when the shots were fired. Shots fired in more way
- 23:41than one student and autopsy would later reveal that Corey was shot in the neck,
- 23:45face, and head. They did recover one gun from the home that
- 23:48was in a drawer, and Monique confirmed that it was Corey's handgun. The
- 23:53shells and gun were taken protesting to see if that was the murder weapon.
- 23:59I got news for you. It wasn't okay. Now, As word spread
- 24:07of the murder and Stu's hideous comments. He just made news media a right
- 24:14scene, which drew attention from the neighbors. Now, Doric called her older
- 24:18half sister, and this is Courtney. I remember Corey was married before and
- 24:22had a daughter, Courtney, and she was I want to say she was
- 24:25maybe she was quite a bit older than the than Corey and Dory and Corey
- 24:30Junior. And so she's living outside of the house. So and she tells
- 24:34Courtney that their father was dead. Now Courtney's just in complete disbelief and she
- 24:38immediately goes to the home where she sees the police and this confirms her worst
- 24:45nightmare. Now, as the family is grieving, police began canvassing the neighborhood.
- 24:48Now, the neighbor across the street knows a silver SUV backed up into
- 24:52the kid's yard around eight thirty am that eight thirty eight m that day,
- 24:56and by nine am that vehicle was gone. So these are some nosy as
- 25:00neighbors. And I can appreciate that start because I'm a nosy neighbor. Well,
- 25:04you don't like our one nosy neighbor, no worries about all our lawn.
- 25:07Yeah, she's a bitch, Stuart, and I hate her. Okay,
- 25:11she started. What nosy, she's a bit. She's noticed that our
- 25:15lawn, we whatever, had overgrown a little bit. We've been on vacation
- 25:19and and we had anyways, I'm not even gonna get into it. But
- 25:23she's a bitch. But no, I appreciate a nosy neighbor. We used
- 25:27to live next to a nosy neighbor, didn't we. Oh she wasna sure,
- 25:33but in a good way though, wasn't bad. It wasn't a good
- 25:34way. Yeah, we were friends with them. It's okay. She called
- 25:38me a bitch too. You guys, don't be offended that we call our
- 25:41beach. She called me a bitch too one time. Yeah, there was
- 25:44alcohol involved, there was. She called me a bitch. It's fine,
- 25:47but no, we really liked we liked our old neighbors. They were really
- 25:51good people. But she knew all the happenings of the neighborhood. Anyways.
- 25:56But yeah, so the neighbor notices this, this car backed into the house
- 26:00and and notes the times and things like that. So that's sounds like something
- 26:04you would, Yeah, it does. We've already been We've already told a
- 26:08story about how I'm not gonna tell the story again. How I stopped an
- 26:11armed robbery, Stuart, or no, not stop, but you convicted armed
- 26:17robbers. I saved lives. Now the police bring Monique and to question her
- 26:23on the events of that morning. She tells investigators that Corey came home around
- 26:29five thirty AM from his night shift. Now, I gotta say Corey is
- 26:33a trooper because you're gonna come home at five thirty take you about an hour
- 26:38to get unwind, take a shower, lay down, So maybe longer.
- 26:41I've worked night shift many a time. It's hard. It really is,
- 26:45like you stay up, your body gets thrown off from being worked, from
- 26:49like working nights or whatever. But still you would think that people would think
- 26:52that haven't worked night shift, would thinks that you could just come in and
- 26:56just like crash. But that's not how it works. You're like wired.
- 27:00You need like an hour or two just to come down. Yeah, so
- 27:03I don't know how he's up by noon normally every day. Yeah, he's
- 27:07a trooper for sure, But he was also working those extra construction jobs he
- 27:10did. He was also the home that they had, like they had that
- 27:12real nice house. He was building like a deck on the back because he
- 27:15worked construction, like he was doing a lot of things too. Now,
- 27:18Corey had his issues. We're gonna get to him later, okay, but
- 27:22there was a hard but you could say Corey was a hard worker for sure.
- 27:26He was building like a pole out in the back, like a deck
- 27:29with a pool and stuff like that, everything for his family and working those
- 27:33extra jobs to make the money for them to afford that really nice house that
- 27:37they had, or expensive trip to Disney World the Magic Kingdom. I just
- 27:41thought of that, partner, you're a liars. They already heard us me
- 27:45clarify. So anyway, Yeah, I was just gonna say Corey's a trooper
- 27:51if he's up by noon every day, because I'd probably be sleeping until about
- 27:53two l I'd be like, sorry, family, I can't interact with I'm
- 27:57waking up taking a shower just before it's time to go to work. Now,
- 28:03she returned her home around seven thirty am, where she saw Corey sleeping.
- 28:07She takes a shower, she gets dressed, and heads out to the
- 28:11daycare. Did you you didn't even talk about how she went to six?
- 28:15You skip that whole part story. Well that was your fault. No,
- 28:18this was your This is your fault. So at the so she comes,
- 28:21he comes home around five to thirty. At six thirty, she's going to
- 28:23meet Corey's sister to walk at the local ballfield, and that's when she returns
- 28:29home. Around seven thirty, she takes her shower, she sees Cory sleeping,
- 28:32and she heads out to the daycare. So she went to like exercise
- 28:34with her sister in law around six thirty that morning. So you're just going
- 28:40to call me off for screwing up, Yeah, I am. Wow,
- 28:41it just happened. Normally you would just cut stop and make me go back.
- 28:45No I won't. I'm just gonna tell what a failure I am.
- 28:49Now she she arrives at the gate. Good lord, I can't the gatecare.
- 28:53I'm sure what the I'm not real sure what a gaycare. I know
- 29:00some prince of Oars would be really interested in. Yes, yeah. Now,
- 29:04she arrived at the day carried around eight thirty am, and she was
- 29:07there until she returned home with her children at about twelve thirty, when they
- 29:11found Corey Lyne in bed, who was obviously deceased at the time. That
- 29:17whole traumatic event. Now they do bring both children in. Dory was seventeen
- 29:22at the time. And Corey Junior was eleven. Now, Dory seems nervous
- 29:26while speaking to police, like she was holding something back. So she finally
- 29:30admits after some questioning and being like, hey, why why are you so
- 29:36nervuscarl dad? So no, not what you do to your dad? She
- 29:41admits that her oh, wells think did she have anything to do with it?
- 29:48No, she didn't, or maybe they thought she knew something. She
- 29:52They never thought she did anything. But what actually was is that she had
- 29:55a boyfriend and he had actually spent the night that night everything, so she
- 30:00had actually snuck him, snuck him in, and then snuck him out that
- 30:03morning before her dad had gotten home. So Dory said that her father did
- 30:07not like her boyfriend, and police were wondering if there was some sort of
- 30:11confrontation between Corey and the boyfriend and that's how he ended up dead or something
- 30:15like that. So they bring that boy because that's that's been seen before.
- 30:19You know, a teenage daughter and the boyfriend, the boyfriend and the dad
- 30:23don't get along, and the next thing you know, we got freaking what
- 30:26are those two natural born killer people? Um Woody Harrelson in that Juliette Lewis.
- 30:33Yeah, like that kind of situation, didn't they kill because the dad
- 30:37didn't like the boyfriend? I think? So. I can't remember that movie,
- 30:41and I mean they were they were, Craig. Yeah, that's when
- 30:42Robert Downey junior man has come back as iron Man. Well not as iron
- 30:47Man, but I was about to say, I don't think iron Man was.
- 30:48He was not in that movie, but he was. I think he
- 30:51was a reporter in that movie and he made his way back into Hollywood.
- 30:55Well, yeah, because he lived his life like that movie that he was
- 30:59in less than less than Zero or something like that. I don't know what
- 31:02these eighties references are anyway, So we'll edit out everything else to said after
- 31:07that, because it's a necessary anyway, you unncessary anyway. So they bring
- 31:12the boyfriend in for questioning and he agrees to take a polygraph test, which
- 31:17he passes, which we all know polygraph tests are bullshit, so I'll take
- 31:21them. Yeah, So they let the boyfriend go and they move on to
- 31:23others that might have wanted to hurt Corey. Police start asking friends and family
- 31:29about the marriage of Corey and Monique. They quickly learned that Corey had cheated
- 31:33on Monique numerous times. Like I said, Corey was a hard worker.
- 31:37However, he had his demons. He was a hard man. Their names
- 31:41were up to six women. Oh, lots of women. Lots of women
- 31:48and just the past year her name was Becky, had a lot of them,
- 31:53Tiffany. Now, it took a lot of man hours for police to
- 31:59clear all these one and a lot of man hours for Monique. Was six
- 32:04women. I'm sure it took Corey longer. Yeah, Cat. Anyways,
- 32:12now none of the women seem to be involved with Corey's murder. Police continue
- 32:15to speak with other family members, including Corey's sister, whom Corey was very
- 32:21close. She says that she saw Monique at the store two days before the
- 32:24murder, where she invited Monique to go with her on one of her daily
- 32:30walks at Alexander Park. Yeah, she had these, like I think she
- 32:34called him, like meditation walks or whatever, where she walked around that ball
- 32:37filled or whatever. And I don't know when they cleared her mind, Yes,
- 32:40cleared their mind, cleared her mind. It was just like a peaceful
- 32:43time of the day. She'd get up and do this thing every morning,
- 32:45and so thirty doesn't seem too peaceful to me, Well, I know it
- 32:52is to me. Thank god our children are late sleepers. Thank god.
- 32:57I mean we've trained him. We worked really hard to trade them because we're
- 33:00nine hours. Yes, so yes, yes, the older one. I
- 33:06mean we have to actually wake her up, like that's at the point she'd
- 33:08sleep till like nine o'clock in the morning or maybe later if we just like,
- 33:14yeah, if we just let her rip the baby. He's like,
- 33:16you know what, I like to wake up around seven thirty. But I'll
- 33:20sitting here and I'll talk to myself till eight o'clock and I'll be happy.
- 33:22He'll just he just sits there and just said, yeah, yeah, you
- 33:25just hear him. I'll wake up. It's around seven thirty. I hear
- 33:29him in there. He's just like talking to himself, just having a good
- 33:34old time. He's like, let let them sleep anyways, and then we
- 33:38all get up around eight am, and we have to wake the toddler up
- 33:42and and deal with that. She comes out angry, not happy. Now,
- 33:47Monique agrees to go on this walk and they meet the next day.
- 33:52Monique opens up to her sister in law that she knows Corey is cheating on
- 33:55her, but they plan to work. And you think she knows he's cheating
- 34:00on her words six up to six women, probably not just she thinks it's
- 34:04one girl. Probably yeah, I mean nobody would be like because yeah,
- 34:07he's got six six side Stewart thoughts that over there over there. Yeah.
- 34:20So yeah, so Monique knows that Corey's cheating, she probably doesn't know the
- 34:23extent of it, doesn't extent, tells the sister in law. We're working
- 34:29it out. Everything's gonna be good. We even got a family vacation plan.
- 34:34We're gonna go to Disney World, drop a shit ton of money.
- 34:37The mouse will fix it all. Mouse will fix it all. Now,
- 34:42she seemed to be hopeful about their marriage, and so the next day,
- 34:45the day of the murder, Monique meets her sister in law again, but
- 34:50this time the sister says that Monique was very distracted, like she was on
- 34:55her phone the whole time. She's hardly talking, She's constantly on her phone,
- 35:00looks like she's texting. So police take interest in this, and they
- 35:04said, peanut Monique's phone records. Yeah, because just remember this is not
- 35:07it. This is not a thing that they've been doing for years or months
- 35:10or anything like that, or even weeks. This is a new occurrence that
- 35:15Monique is meeting the sister in law two days before the murder and one day
- 35:20she's okay and the next day she's acting suspicious, and so it is very
- 35:25notable. It is not like they've been doing this for months and some days
- 35:29Monique is She's has a pattern of someday she's like really into the walks and
- 35:34talking to her sister in law, and then someday she's distracted. This is
- 35:37very obvious that something has occurred, Like something is weird. Yeah, because
- 35:44I mean, yeah, she has no reference other than day one and the
- 35:46day one she's great, Day two she's distracted night and day Yeah. So
- 35:53police, like I said, the subpoena the records, see who she's talking
- 35:57to, who she's texting, because as they knew it was not Corey because
- 36:00they had his phone which showed a text between him and one of his mistresses.
- 36:06Of course, oh Corey. Also Monique is dumb, like why would
- 36:10you freaking act differently the second day? We all know this world, this
- 36:15is leading Stewart, we all know where this is leading. No, why
- 36:22would you act differently the second day, like this is so stupid, like
- 36:28because I would be so good at murder, Like I would never act differently.
- 36:30Everybody hears this, right, yeah, murdered. Everybody's thinking it that
- 36:37I'm going to end up murdering. Yes. When reviewing the phone records,
- 36:42they find that she had frequently been in contact with one number in particular on
- 36:46that morning of the murder, as well as the months leading up to the
- 36:50murder Monique at Old Girl Rookie Mistake. So they look up the number and
- 36:54find it belongs to David Ray Johnson. Now we're looking into the cannection between
- 37:00Johnson and Monique. They find that Johnson drives for climb Peter Farms Dairy,
- 37:05which, if I don't know if this is a common dairy around the country,
- 37:10but climb Peter is a popular milk here and it's actually one of the
- 37:15more expensive milk. Still definitely got some money if you're gonna be buying the
- 37:20climb Peter Farms dairy, well, or a great value just about everything's expensive,
- 37:24board and climb Peter. Oh, if you're not going to buy a
- 37:29great value, But you know what, though, here's the thing, so
- 37:31tell me, Stew drinks milk. I don't drink milk. Like that's how
- 37:36I didn't grow It doesn't matter. I wouldn't grow up drinking milk. That
- 37:39was like a that was like a privileged thing. Start to be able to
- 37:43drink milk with every you were a vegetarian and soy milk or something. I
- 37:46no, I wasn't. I didn't was a very vegetarian to I was like
- 37:49seventeen eighteen years old. Stew drink milk with everything, like every milk,
- 37:53dinner, every night or whatever. So it Stew drinks milk. Our daughter
- 37:57she has issues, so she has to drink like the it's called a ripple
- 38:00milk or whatever that she drinks. So anyways, but if you buy the
- 38:04organic milk, I know, it's a little bit more expensive, but it's
- 38:07good for so much longer. So Stuart, we'll buy the gallon of that,
- 38:10and as opposed to buying the gallon of like the Great Value um that's
- 38:15the wh well, yes, pasteurized, but organic milk is pasteurized to Stewart,
- 38:20it's just organic. I don't know why it's better for like two months
- 38:22longer, but it is. But in the in the end, it pays
- 38:25off because we were dumping out milk because he wouldn't finish it before the drinks.
- 38:32Well, nope, the Schmunky, that's what we call her daughter.
- 38:35The Schmunkey drinks drinks milk. She just drinks her special milk. Try to
- 38:42put her on, No, we've already tried that. It didn't work,
- 38:45Stewart. You know that I don't think she's lactose Well, I don't think
- 38:49she's lactose intolerant. I think that. Okay, we're not getting into this
- 38:52conversation any arguments we have in front of the doctor. Anyway, So he
- 38:58drinks, he goes for Climb Peter Farms. He's like delivering from them,
- 39:00and one of the stops on his route was Monique Steakcare. Now they run
- 39:06Johnson's name and found out he has a criminal past. He was convicted of
- 39:08sexual assault against a miner and it spent time in jail for the offense.
- 39:13So why the fuck is Climb Peter allowing him to deliver milk? Yeah,
- 39:17this is like some questionable decisions on Peter Farms, and we'd like to know
- 39:22some answers with your expensive ass milk. While you're allowing this toy, have
- 39:25your CEO call us yes and explained yeah, and also sponsored the podcast.
- 39:30Yes. Now with this information, police bring Monique back in for some question.
- 39:37They ask her how she knows mister Johnson, and she says that they
- 39:39were just friends. However, police, however, they were close enough friends
- 39:45for her to have brought him around her children more than once now, which
- 39:52is weird. You shouldn't be bringing the milk man, yeah, the child
- 39:58predator. Also, does she know he's a child prod? I don't.
- 40:00I don't doubt it. Monique is like a low level at this point to
- 40:05me, So whatever, I think she's basic. No, she's not even
- 40:08basic. She thinks she's basic. Basic. You don't even understand what basic
- 40:14means to it. That doesn't even have anything to do with the reference to
- 40:16Monique right now, She's not a basic bitch. I'm using it wrong.
- 40:21Yes, you're using the popcorn friends wrong. I should have said gnarly then,
- 40:28Nope, tubular. Now just go on, Jesus Christ, Well,
- 40:34please bring in Johnson. They start questioning him about the relationship. He tells
- 40:37police that him and Monique were just friends and that he had nothing to do
- 40:42with Corey's murder. Without any further evidence, they let mister Johnson go with
- 40:50no more leads. Police go back to the crime scene to see if they
- 40:53can find anything that they may have missed the first however many times they've been
- 41:00there. Yeah, So looking at the photos of the crime team again,
- 41:02they are sure this was a staged burglary. They know this is not a
- 41:07real burglary. So nothing was taken, and the furniture and tables overturned looked
- 41:13like they had been placed in a manner to look as if they had been
- 41:15thrown around. So this is if you're gonna stage a burglary, you better
- 41:19go in and just like ramass, like, be for real with it.
- 41:22Don't be like, Oh, let me just like topple this tape over,
- 41:24let me break this plate, Let me just like position this. Now that's
- 41:28how Darling Routier got caught. Yeah, go in hardcore and trash the motherfucker
- 41:34anyway, So got a barstool on the sheet rock and the wall hanging out.
- 41:37Yes, you don't give zero fus giving what happens to this house.
- 41:42So they start looking at the crime at the crime as a hit job rather
- 41:45than a burglary gone wrong. They dig into the kids as finances and they
- 41:50find that they did make good money. Corey was bringing in around ninety thousand
- 41:53dollars as at his plant job as well as any of that construction side jobs
- 41:59that he was doing, and then the daycare of Monique Ran was making money
- 42:02as well. They find that they did have a five hundred thousand dollars life
- 42:07insurance policy on Cory, and this peaked police's interest. They're like half a
- 42:12million bucks, it's a reason enough to kill That is not enough phrasing account.
- 42:15You're talking about a fellow bringing in nine thousand dollars a year. He
- 42:20could bring in a lot more than that over the course of a lifetime,
- 42:24I know, lifetime, but having to deal with him for a lifetime,
- 42:29come on, he really it sounds like a nice guys and cheating the six
- 42:34mistresses well, you know anyway, but don't sound like Monique was really like
- 42:37you know, like the line or anything like that with with being faithful.
- 42:45So anyway, so they subpoena at the bank records and find that the kids
- 42:47had some odd habits with their money. They make very large deposits at the
- 42:52beginning of the month, around like eight thousand dollars and then quickly withdraw most
- 42:57of the cash, leaving no trace as to where they actually spend this money.
- 43:00So they seem like their cash operations. They I don't even know why
- 43:05you have a bank accountant. If you're going to run on cash mainly,
- 43:07then I guess to pay a few odds and in bills, But everything else
- 43:10they seem to function in a cash manner, which makes sense why he would
- 43:15ask for four thousand dollars with drawn for the Disney trip, because that's not
- 43:21normally people would just pay for that with even in twenty ten, you would
- 43:23just pay for that online or whatever, or however was a card as you
- 43:28go? Yeah, so they they ran a cash lifestyle. So they also
- 43:31found in searching that Monique had an apartment in her name that no one was
- 43:36aware of. Now they find that the person actually staying there was her friend,
- 43:40David Ray Johnson friend and I used the bunny ears around that her friend.
- 43:45I'm just glad it wasn't David Roy Johnson. Yeah, me too.
- 43:49After digging through email rerecords, they find that mister Johnson is a little bit
- 43:52more of a friend to Monique than she originally stated. Of course, he
- 43:57is. He was given her something. Yeah, you don't have a male
- 44:01was given her some jobs? Yes, you're twelve, I get his to
- 44:06her. Yeah, you don't have like a if you're a married woman with
- 44:08children. Okay, I'm gonna make some like broad statements. You don't meet
- 44:15a new man in some capacity. I mean, I understand if you already
- 44:20were friends with some man that you're he's like in the group, he's friends
- 44:24with your husband, like you knew him before, and things like. This
- 44:28is meeting a new man, a new single man outside of your relationship with
- 44:34your husband. He's met your children, and your husband does not know him.
- 44:37That is sketchy. That is not normal. If you meet a new
- 44:43male friend and you're a straight woman married to a man, and you meet
- 44:47this person, he should probably know your husband or be have been introduced.
- 44:52You know, it's weird, one would think. Starting all the way back
- 44:57in December two thousand and six, Monique was email emailing Johnson sexually charged emails
- 45:05and telling him that they would one day beat together. This is two thousand
- 45:09and six. This is four years before. Yeah, this is four years
- 45:13before all this occurred. So this is a long term situation. Yeah,
- 45:17between these two. He has been climb petering her for quite some time.
- 45:22But the old client Peter and the yeah. Now they went back and they
- 45:27spoke to a family and friends about the relationship and found out that there had
- 45:30been rumors with Corey's daughter Courtney even seeing Monique in Johnson's band. She refrained
- 45:38from telling her father as she did not want to start an issue if it
- 45:43was something innocent. And I think Courtney knew about his her father's like buying
- 45:50in a bunch of yeah, and so it was probably like, do I
- 45:52really need to tell him? Is this what their relationship is? Like?
- 45:55We said, the Courtney's older than the two childre the seventeen year old and
- 46:00Dory at the time of the murder. In the eleven year old, Courtney
- 46:05is older, and you know, she might have been like, Dad's not
- 46:07real real faithful, his new wife's not being maybe not being faithful. Should
- 46:13I really throw a grenade up? Yeah? Is this? Maybe this is
- 46:15their relationship. She's old enough to maybe understand, like maybe this is how
- 46:19they do things. I don't know. I don't want to be in it.
- 46:22She did consult I think her grandmother or aunt, and they were like
- 46:24Oh, don't just stay out of it. You don't want to. You
- 46:28don't want to be in the middle of this nonsense. So she stayed out
- 46:31of it, didn't mention it, but she noted it. So police do
- 46:35find that Monique and Johnson we're going to the apartment together as well as meeting
- 46:39up at the daycarry. Now that's just sick. Yeah, our children go
- 46:44to dickcare. I can't even I mean, I don't want them there.
- 46:46I don't know what they're doing. If something's going on after hours at the
- 46:50daycare, and it's just no, but there's like rugs and stuff. I
- 46:52don't need any of that. Like, I don't know if they're like doing
- 46:55the deed there at the daycare. But if he's going there after hours,
- 46:59no, he was. They said that they have were having sex at the
- 47:00day's disgusting. That's absolutely disgusting. She should fucking both of them should go
- 47:07to fucking jail just for that. They police also find out that Monique was
- 47:12also giving Johnson money and helping him defraud the government went through his taxes.
- 47:20Yeah, so she along with running the daycare, she she did her own
- 47:23taxes there and things like that. So she was aware of how to do
- 47:27taxes and all that jazz. So she was helping him and magging up deductions
- 47:34for him, getting getting refunds and things like that for things he did not
- 47:39actually earn her whatever. However, the taxes or ask it man, whenever
- 47:44you freaking cheat them, I would come down hard. Yeah. I mean,
- 47:46you can murder somebody in some spe like cool, cool, you're out
- 47:50and whatever. Here in two years probation still a dollar from an RS you
- 47:53go on a federal prison. Yeah, that's a real crime. So they
- 47:59bring Johnson back in to interview him, and he will not talk at all.
- 48:02So after some time and seeing this whole thing could be pinned on him,
- 48:07he does start talking. So at first she's like, I ain't doing
- 48:08this shit whenever. And then they're like, hey, yo, Monique has
- 48:13climbed petergu into a corner and she's about to pin you for Corey's murder.
- 48:17And he's like, oh, well, Moniqu's a bitch anyways. So he
- 48:21tells police that Manique first began joking about how she would be better off with
- 48:24her husband dead back all the back in two thousand and six, when they
- 48:28started sexually emailing each other Now, the jokes eventually became serious and she actually
- 48:34asked Johnson to kill him. Now she began giving him small amounts of money,
- 48:38and about a thousand dollar increments here and there. She's passing him this
- 48:43cash. Now, after a while, Johnson still had not fallowed through on
- 48:46Monique's request, and she was getting pretty anty about this because she's doling out
- 48:52thousand dollars here this way. You can't just operate in a ca I mean
- 48:54honest, I love cash, cash as king, some people would say,
- 48:59Stuart. And if you're living in a marriage that's sketchy and people are cheating
- 49:05on each other and stuff. Working in just cash, though, can create
- 49:08problems because you don't know where that money is going. But apparently they had
- 49:12enough to pay for their house, pay for all their stuff in thousand dollars
- 49:16in the apartment. This money was not missed. I don't really know.
- 49:20Maybe she managed all the finances and he just brought him the check. I
- 49:22don't really know. Well, what if if if men have mistresses, what
- 49:27are what a woman have? Is it a mister gets a mister or mistress?
- 49:35It's a jiggolo. I don't really know. And you're not everywhere anyways,
- 49:42So after a while, Johnson, like we said, he hadn't followed
- 49:46through with what he had said. So Johnson claims he was just trying to
- 49:50milk her. No, pun intended it for as much money as he could
- 49:55possibly get, and he's just having sex at the game. So he's getting
- 50:01this money. He's like, Hey, I'm gonna kill your husband. She's
- 50:04like, sure, here's a thousand dollars every month or whatever it is.
- 50:06He's getting to have sex with her, like it's all a win win from
- 50:08him. He has no intention of actually killing this man. So in two
- 50:13thousand and eight, with Monique growing frustrated, she asked Johnson if a if
- 50:19he knows anybody that could possibly she must love this Johnson's guy or whatever.
- 50:23The climb. Yeah, so he says that a man named Carl Howard who
- 50:30had who Monique had done taxes for previously, if he would do it.
- 50:36So Johnson his friends with this Carl Howard guy, and Johnson said that he
- 50:39might do something like that, and so she gave Johnson a thousand dollars and
- 50:45asked him to reach out to him about it. So she'd done the taxes
- 50:49for Carl Howard Johnson knew Carl Howard Johnson said, yes, he might do
- 50:53it. If you give me a thousand dollars, I'll reach out to him
- 50:57and see if he'll do it. Well, Johnson pocketed that money, never
- 51:00went to the bar. Yeah, she's still sleeping with him this whole entire
- 51:06time, which just makes me sad for Monique, even though she's a murderer
- 51:09or so she is Stewart. Anyways, Monique eventually she reaches out to him
- 51:15herself because she did have his information because she did his taxes. So they
- 51:20begin sexting each other. Terrible. I understand why Corey's terrible. I understand
- 51:27this relationship. Now. They should have just said, let's just be open
- 51:30to other people, and that's just how our relationship works. So anyway,
- 51:34so she begins sexting him and also call and they start calling each other several
- 51:37times, and she also starts sending him suspicious, suspicious messages, including ones
- 51:45with just layouts of their home like how what is their home design? Like?
- 51:49What are like? What are the blueprints? Like? What's going on?
- 51:52How would you possibly enter the home and find my husband sleeping in his
- 51:57bed? Like those types of things us go to speak to Howard and he
- 52:00pulls up in a red car, just like the one that Corey saw sitting
- 52:05across the street from his home. You know we went, I think we
- 52:08talked about this on a previous previous episode. Um, when I was a
- 52:13kid, we had a pont at Grand Dam. Was that what? Yeah,
- 52:17it was a red pont at kids. I know you were meal creepy
- 52:22it would be anyway. So Howard pulls up in this car and it's exactly
- 52:29Yes, it's exactly like the one that's parked across in the empty lot that
- 52:32we had all the way back on. I believe it was June ninth,
- 52:36twenty ten, a month before the murders. There had been noted that there
- 52:39had been a red Grand Dam parked across in the empty lot from the kids
- 52:45is home. And he's pulling up in this thing. So suspicions a f
- 52:50Stewart, as the young uns would say, the young uns, huh,
- 52:53yeah, as freaky, yep, as freaky. Now they began speaking to
- 52:59him, but he's not talking. He's very cocky, and he knows that
- 53:02they don't have enough evidence on him to charge him with anything, so they
- 53:07let him go and They continue to search for evidence, which comes in the
- 53:12form of a cell phone toward data. Those cell phones will always catch it.
- 53:16It's every time it's who got the murdochs m oh alex. They could
- 53:21see walking back and forth my family, Let me walk back m M.
- 53:28Now. They subpoena forward the cell phone records and trace Howard's movements. The
- 53:31first time Howard is traced to the kids home is back on June ninth,
- 53:36like we said, the day Corey saw a red grand Am yep. Then
- 53:40they look at the data from July ninth, the day Corey was killed,
- 53:45and the same movements were observed. The only other loose end they had was
- 53:50the neighbor seeing a silver sub the morning of the murders. They review Howard's
- 53:54cell phone activity when he would come to add us and every time he kind
- 54:00attacked three people, Monique Johnson and a man by the name of Corey Knox.
- 54:06They look into Knox and find that his mother owns a similar sub yep
- 54:09like the silver one that's parked on the front. Okay, if you're going
- 54:14to commit a crime, I know this has turned into a hole, Like
- 54:15how do you commit a murder? Leave your fucking cell phone at the house.
- 54:19You better have a plan, you better have times. You better just
- 54:21like stick to these things. Leave your cell phone or phone. Come on,
- 54:25this is rookie mistakes, a rookie I'm gonna be murdered. Yeah,
- 54:31I'm my wife. Now. They asked the neighbor to look at the car
- 54:35and he says that car was the one that he saw that morning. Thank
- 54:38god for the nosy neighbor. Well, how does he know, I mean,
- 54:42I won't come on, you can can say it looks similar. Just
- 54:46this bitch did this? Okay? With these tell Mister Knox asked to call
- 54:50his mother, so police oblige and they leave him to make the call.
- 54:53Unbeknownst to mister Knox, there as their recording device and they hear him tell
- 54:58his mom that Howard got him involved with a murder when he had to drive
- 55:04him around. Please, this is like the jinks all over against you.
- 55:07This has happened a couple of times. People don't talk. Also, when
- 55:12you're in the being interviewed by the police, don't fucking talk to people about
- 55:15what you did that you don't want the police to know. Like in the
- 55:19room the interview room. This is what happened to Jinks when he was a
- 55:22Robbert? What's his name first Durst. He's in the bath room doctor in
- 55:28the documentary of the Jinks and he talks about how I killed whoever. I
- 55:31can't even remember whatever he held, Like three people told us, I remember
- 55:35which is when it was. But yeah, don't be talking about who you
- 55:38murdered while you're in their interview room. Yeah, well, this dude was
- 55:44in the interview room in the place if you're going to call out of jail,
- 55:49every phone callers recorded coming out of the jail. Yeah, don't be
- 55:52talking about your crimes, dummies. Anyway, police jump on his statement and
- 55:59now they had someone saying that Howard was involved with the murder. In March
- 56:04of twenty thirteen, Monique and Howard are finally indicted on secondary degree murder and
- 56:08conspiracy to commit murder now. To get out of being charged, Johnson turned
- 56:13quickly on Monique and Knox and pled down to accessory to murder now. During
- 56:17the trial, prosecutors laid out their case, Monique left that morning, putting
- 56:22herself away from the scene, going on to walk with Corey's sister like she
- 56:27had just conveniently ranked I guess she by happened Sam she had read ran into
- 56:31her two days before, kind of created a whole entire like alibi for Yeah,
- 56:37Corey's sister accidentally created an alibi, so but also was her undoing though,
- 56:43because she mentioned the text and the phone, the texting and stuff.
- 56:47Yea, it was her alibi, but it was also her I think she
- 56:51would have came up with a the shittier alibi. Yeah, she would have
- 56:53been caught earlier. Smart. No, So Howard entered the home through an
- 56:58unlocked door while not waited outside in the getaway car, which was that silver
- 57:04suv he borrowed from his mother, which is super said. Now Howard killed
- 57:08a sleeping Cory and then staged at burglary and then Howard and Knox they drove
- 57:14away, they believe, So this is all happening between like the neighborhood said,
- 57:17from between eight thirty and nine am. They believe Corey was already dead
- 57:22when Monique came back to shower and go to work, So she's in there
- 57:25this whole Like I came back at seven thirty and da dada, No,
- 57:29they had already came in there murdered him. She'd been there the whole time,
- 57:31whine check the work. Yeah, you can't make final payment until you
- 57:37know that the works. This is disturbing, but yes, so she had
- 57:42actually planned like, yeah, we said that the whole when we walked through
- 57:45the whole scene. How the kids are having to stay in the room,
- 57:46they find their dad dead in the bed, They have to stay in the
- 57:51room, the cops have to come in with guns drawn. It's very traumatic
- 57:53experience. Well, she had planned for her own children to find their father
- 57:58dead. So this is her whole alibi, which is disturbing on another level
- 58:01that you would put your children through this like you you would use them in
- 58:05this manner. Now, her motive was the five hundred thousand dollars life insurance
- 58:09policy. According to the prosecution, and on November twenty, twenty fourteen,
- 58:15a jury found both Monique and Howard guilty. Now, the judge later since
- 58:20both to life in prison without the eligibility for parole, and they both appealed
- 58:24their appealed their cases and were denied. Now Monique is currently in LDOC in
- 58:32Baton Rouge, which is the Louisiana Department of Corrections. Oh, why,
- 58:37thank you for clarifying. So, yeah, if there's any guys that like
- 58:39those women, they're locked up. That's where Monday got Probably she probably got
- 58:45an online profile. We're gonna need you to become a Patreon and then stop
- 58:50listening, okay, because we don't like you, but we went your money.
- 58:52Yeah, we'll take it. You seem like a sucker. So Howard
- 58:59is in the Louisiana State Penitentiary and Angola when they have a rodeo, I
- 59:05don't know what the do the prisoners put on the rodeo so weird. So
- 59:09there's an Angola State rodeo and it's just down the road from us, like
- 59:14maybe not even an hour, a couple of hours, Oh it is,
- 59:16Okay, it's not that far from us. But there's a rodeo every year,
- 59:21and I don't really know what to do, but I really feel like
- 59:22we need to go and we could, like we could like take some Yeah,
- 59:25the year we go with our children, that's the year there's gonna be
- 59:29a prison break in hospital and Howard breaks out stabs everybody, be like I've
- 59:32been looking for the bless this most podcast. I hate those fuckers. I'm
- 59:36gonna face Yeah. So anyways, but yeah, we should totally go and
- 59:39we can, like we can take some video and might put it on the
- 59:44Instagram or whatever in the Facebook and let everybody know what the Angola stated Rodeo
- 59:51is, because that's I feel like it's unique to Louisiana. They pick up
- 59:54the beads after Marti gral and then they also throw the rodeo. It is
- 1:00:00nice of them. Yeah, it's very nice. So anyway, that is
- 1:00:06where Howard is. He's maybe he'll be in the rodeo that's coming here.
- 1:00:09We don't know. I don't think they let them convicted murderers in the rodeo.
- 1:00:13Now, death rowan Mass I don't believe are allowed to participate. Now.
- 1:00:17Dorry and Corey Junior believe that their mother is innocent, while Courtney believes
- 1:00:23she had him killed. Oh my god, Stewart, the Angola Rodeo is
- 1:00:29April twenty second and twenty third. That's today and tomorrow. Jesus, we
- 1:00:35can't go tomorrow. I don't think we can make it tomorrow, folks.
- 1:00:38I'm sorry, we're gonna have to, Like what do they do at the
- 1:00:43rodeo? Maybe this is our y'all need Jesus, Steward that they're having a
- 1:00:49rodeo at the prison, the state, the penitentiary. Anyways. Convict Poker,
- 1:00:55Oh my God, guts and glory. It's the ultimate poker game and
- 1:01:00even winning it has a price for inmate. Cowboys sit at a team in
- 1:01:06the middle of the arena playing a friendly game of poker. Suddenly a wild
- 1:01:10bull is released with the sole purpose of unseating the poker players. The last
- 1:01:15man remaining seated is the winner convict Poker. But there's no shame in this
- 1:01:21game. We got no shame. Still, we gotta wait another year to
- 1:01:23go to the Yes run. Unless we go tomorrow, folks will report back
- 1:01:30star recording. Yes, oh Jesus. Anyways, finished up the story.
- 1:01:35I can't even believe this is well. Anyway, Courtney received the entire estate
- 1:01:38of Corey, which included the five hundred thousand dollars life insurance policy. And
- 1:01:44now, because Kara was concerned about me, Dyan, she is an expert
- 1:01:47on wills. Not wills, but property allocation and inheritance. In the state
- 1:01:55Blouanian has very weird laws and if you have any children firstborn No. Twenty
- 1:02:02three and under, there's like weird laws about how it's divided. And then
- 1:02:06even after they're older. If there's not a will, then the spouse doesn't
- 1:02:09get the mutt doesn't get the property. It's a whole other thing. But
- 1:02:13he was I'm glad Courtney got it because not to be a bitch to the
- 1:02:17younger children, but they believe their mother is innocent, and I don't think
- 1:02:22they would have spent all the money on her attorney trying. And I think
- 1:02:25that it's great that Courtney got it. She believes that Monique was definitely was
- 1:02:30obviously involved with this. She's obviously guilty. And yeah, so it's definitely
- 1:02:37divided the family. But I'm glad Courtney ended up with all the money for
- 1:02:42sure. Sorry Dory and Corey. Poor Corey Junior, he was just eleven.
- 1:02:47He's just probably fallen his older sister, Dory. Just keep swimming,
- 1:02:52Just keep swimming anyways. All right, Well that's our episode, Stewardy,
- 1:02:57y'awnee Jesus. Besides the I got exceptually, yes, okay, all right,
- 1:03:02well we'll come right back with it after this commercial break. Probably not
- 1:03:07maybe I don't know where those things. No, we have no control over
- 1:03:10it, all right, STU, So y'all need Jesus, you're ready I
- 1:03:15are you ready? I am ready, because he seemed like you're ready before
- 1:03:17and then you weren't, and now it says you say you're ready. So
- 1:03:21I just want to make sure because before he said you're ready, but you
- 1:03:22weren't actually ready. Well, I drew a blank. I was staring at
- 1:03:25the beautiful face of yours, and I just drew a blank on what I
- 1:03:29was about to say. Oh my god, could you please wipe that off
- 1:03:34of your face? There's some bullshit coming out of your mouth so that we
- 1:03:39speak of staff's, aren't Sarah Sergeant staff Sergeant Sarah Sarah Jane Kavanaugh. She
- 1:03:51was in Iraq, Afghanistan. I guess both Her humby was hit by an
- 1:03:57ID and yeah, I D. I thought it was an IUD. That
- 1:04:05would be the thing you put in here, so you don't have the baby
- 1:04:13you sure sure you don't want to expand on white thas. So anyway,
- 1:04:19her vehicle was hit by an I A D. There she is dragging two
- 1:04:24marines, one in each arm, putting a tourniquet on one guy, given
- 1:04:27the other guy CPR, while somehow still simultaneously firing at the enemy. I
- 1:04:31don't know how she did it. While she was sentenced to seventy months in
- 1:04:36prison this week after earning a purple heart and a bronze star with a V
- 1:04:43for Baalor. Okay, well the bitch must have done something terrible, well
- 1:04:47or dumb if she's on a y'all nee jesus, Well, she didn't do
- 1:04:50any of that. Should I just said she was actually a counselor actually she
- 1:04:56she actually she acts. She could actually use her own No, I could.
- 1:05:00If I could, actually, let's use actually as our drinking word than
- 1:05:04id. Come on, Stewart, I'm trying to spit it out. Okay,
- 1:05:10I forgot where I was because you interrupted me. She could actually use
- 1:05:15her own episode, just like a full length episode. Because of all the
- 1:05:18shittiness she has done. As far as a non murdery, non rapy,
- 1:05:25non sexual assaulty, non violent criminal, she has top of the heat for
- 1:05:29shittiest person of the decade, possibly the century. Okay, so what did
- 1:05:35Sarah Jane Cavanaugh do? Yes, she was a VA counselor. Worked at
- 1:05:42the VA. Had access to service members DD two fourteens, which is their
- 1:05:46discharged papers list their accomplishments. They're type of discharge, any medals and campaign,
- 1:05:55No, no thoughts and feelings in a d D two fourteen, any
- 1:05:59campaign, any medals, any ribbons there and all the stuff is there.
- 1:06:02Yep. So she gathered thee. She looked at him. She said,
- 1:06:05Hey, this guy did this, this person did this, this person did
- 1:06:10this. I'm gonna take it all. I'm gonna create my own dds.
- 1:06:14I'm gonna create my own d D fourteen like I served. Now, what
- 1:06:18did Sarah Cavanaugh do with her d D two fourteen? Did she go to
- 1:06:23Apple D's and get a free Apple das Bees? It comes after season D's.
- 1:06:29Did she go to Outback or Applebee's and get a freemial on Veteran's Day?
- 1:06:34But they do give a free meal on Veterans Day, and I'm sure
- 1:06:40she went to all of them. I'm sure she made the circuit on Veteran's
- 1:06:45Day to get all those free meals. But is that the worst thing,
- 1:06:48Sarah Da? That is not the worst thing, Sarahda. We're gonna put
- 1:06:54a link to Angry Cop on the YouTube. He's got the whole thing laid
- 1:06:58out in three different episodes. As I can't even do justice for this,
- 1:07:01well, Sarah, she has defrauded numerous veterans charities numerous to the tune of
- 1:07:12two hundred and fifty thousand dollars over the course of five years a quarter of
- 1:07:19a million dollars. She even this is where she got in trouble. She
- 1:07:26claimed that she got cancer from like the burn pits in one story, and
- 1:07:30then during her heroic saving of marines from an ied and another one from the
- 1:07:36metal going in her face. Not an iud no, So she says she
- 1:07:42got cancer. And now somebody that actually had cancer was like, oh my
- 1:07:45god, Sarah was going to lose her health insurance because she didn't have enough
- 1:07:47money to pay her health insurance premiums. So he started giving her six hundred
- 1:07:56dollars a month to pay her health insurance premiums, even though he had cancer
- 1:08:00and he thought she had cancer, but she was about to lose her helping
- 1:08:05her, so he gave her six hundred dollars a month for like a year
- 1:08:11or two. She also got up, this is why you shouldn't help people.
- 1:08:15I'm just going to go out there. She also got a service animal.
- 1:08:17I'm real, I'm real questionable at helping anybody. I don't know.
- 1:08:20She got a service animal. Sinister bitch, donated to her. Now she
- 1:08:26was too sick shot that animal no one give she might have it at one
- 1:08:30point. Now she was too hurt injured from her war wounds to bend over
- 1:08:36and pick up the dogs droppings feces. So the healthcare worker that was assigned
- 1:08:43to her would go out with her on the dog walks and pick up the
- 1:08:46droppings for her. Whenever she went to her gym where she got a free
- 1:08:51membership plus house while they would bend down and tie her shoes because they knew
- 1:08:57that she was a wounded warrior and it would have been to So she played
- 1:09:00this ship up to the help. She even became the commander of a VFW
- 1:09:04post. How she played this for five years and worked the system, I
- 1:09:09don't know. Thedn't need to do some more researching to these people that get
- 1:09:13all this well they do. So. Sarah Cavanaugh finally got caught when she
- 1:09:18claimed that she got cancer from the burn pits or the whatever the metal that
- 1:09:24caught on fire when her I the id hit her vehicle in Iran or Afghanistan,
- 1:09:30and I believe it was Hunter seven was an organization. They started looking
- 1:09:34into it because they were gonna give her some money, and so they were
- 1:09:36doing their research. They were doing their research and they're like, hey,
- 1:09:40we need to get this DD to fourteen. We need to look at this.
- 1:09:44So people started looking at the DD to fourteen and they're like, um,
- 1:09:48something's not adding up. And they're like, you got a Bronze Star
- 1:09:51with a V for a Valor. And they keep track of everybody that gets
- 1:09:55a Bronze Star, especially if you get a V for Valor, because you
- 1:09:59can get a bronz a star for doing paperwork. Have some because these officers
- 1:10:02they'll do like some pay for it, and hey, I was in a
- 1:10:04combat zone. Wrapped me up for a Bronze star, like a little gimme.
- 1:10:10They're like, yeah, I got a Bronze Star. It's like,
- 1:10:12yeah, we're being for Avalor. I am angry. I am angry.
- 1:10:16Okay, wrap it up, Stewart, Okay, we get it. So
- 1:10:18anyway, dirty bitch got seventy months. That's all. Yeah, while she
- 1:10:26was facing twenty four That's why I'm saying, this bitch needs a whole podcast
- 1:10:30to herself, because her attorney was complaining, like seventy months is a little
- 1:10:33much. You know, she was in an abused household and blah blah,
- 1:10:38she only deserves twenty four months maybe in a minimum security past. We all
- 1:10:44have a past. Yeah, So so I got, I got words for
- 1:10:48her attorney. I'd love to just crap all over Sarah and her attorney for
- 1:10:55like an entire episode. So anyway, what we got is Sarah Havanaugh theft
- 1:11:00extraordinary, and we're gonna list off the charities that she stole from. So
- 1:11:09Sarah Cavanaugh took from the Wounded Warrior Project two hundred thirty thousand, six hundred
- 1:11:15and eighty three dollars from VFW Post one five two sixty one hundred forty six
- 1:11:21dollars traveling tuition to Creativets Arts Project fourteen thousand, nine hundred and seventy two.
- 1:11:30Now for this creat events, she was picked above a double amputee who
- 1:11:36was going to go, but Dick couldn't go because she went that I believe
- 1:11:41it was that veteran that later committed suicide. Why are you going to make
- 1:11:45this dark stew dark? Because this bitch needs Jesus and she deserves where she
- 1:11:49got it. I don't think him going on whatever trip was gonna like it
- 1:11:54may not have but do we know we don't know from the staff start about
- 1:11:58that Wounded Warriors Project gave or two hundred and thirty thousand dollars. That's like
- 1:12:00a house. They must build her a house from the staffs, aren't matthew
- 1:12:04a Puccino Memorial Foundation ten tho seventy two And she even started her own go
- 1:12:11fund me to save Sarah from her cancer forty seven hundred and sixty six.
- 1:12:16But she stole more money. She stole did the veteran that gave her money
- 1:12:24for her health insurance premiums? I think that came out to like five or
- 1:12:29six thousand dollars she got out of him. Then the free service dog she
- 1:12:32got was whatever, blah blah blah. So, Sarah Kavanaugh, you're in
- 1:12:38jail. You need Jesus. You deserve to be there. I hope somebody
- 1:12:44is Stewart inviting you into the prison system correctly. I hope you're enjoying your
- 1:12:50black stuff. Yes, all right, So that's our y'all need Jesus.
- 1:12:55Pretty depressing for in the murder of Corey kids. So what do into pressing?
- 1:13:00Bitch got seventy But that's like people are donating to Wounded Warriors. They
- 1:13:03need to do better research into their people they're giving. This is an anomaly.
- 1:13:09Okay, but I'm just saying that somebody's gonna make I know. But
- 1:13:11we also need to make sure if we're going to give a two hundred and
- 1:13:14thirty thousand dollars of people's like donating. Well, she did have to sell
- 1:13:15her house, and the eighty six thousand dollars in equity she had went straight
- 1:13:19to the victims. So there was that. Okay, there's more. I
- 1:13:26mean, she could. She deserves her own episode. Maybe I'll do that
- 1:13:30one day, all right, No, you won't, But anyways, I'm
- 1:13:31mine. All right. So that's our episode. Uh find us on the
