• 0:40
Speaker 2: far in the last couple of weeks. Big turnaround week.
• 0:43
Speaker 2: Let's get it done. We're going to start with Nick Welday. PT6,

• 1:15
Speaker 2: sure you respond to the DMs. Make sure you respond
• 1:17
Speaker 2: to the DMs from FanDuel. They're going to reach out
• 1:18
Speaker 2: to you. If you don't reach back out, we can't
• 1:20
Speaker 2: do nothing for you. All right. Finally, LawsonFO.
• 1:26
  Speaker 1: Come on.
• 1:27
  Speaker 2: Come on.
• 1:27
Speaker 1: Happy Halloween, Lawson. Come on. Happy Halloween.
• 1:29
  Speaker 3: Come on.
• 1:33
  Speaker 1: Yes!
• 1:34
  Speaker 2: That's a turnaround we need. We've got a great show
• 1:36
Speaker 2: for you today. Let's get after it. Bustin' and Payton
• 1:38
Speaker 2: on Friday. It's going to be an amazing time. Let's go. Touchdown!
• 1:55
Speaker 1: Welcome to an episode of The Locker Room. As always,
• 1:58
Speaker 1: you got Josh Pate, Taylor LeJuan, and Willie C. Happy Halloween.
• 2:01
Speaker 1: Happy Halloween. It's the Super Bowl for Spooktober this week. Yeah,
• 2:05
  Speaker 1: it's a big one. It's going down. You got a
• 2:07
Speaker 1: little Halloween party. Yep. You know who else is throwing
• 2:10
Speaker 1: a Halloween party? Who is? FanDuel. No way. The number
• 2:13
Speaker 1: one sportsbook in America. We are presented by FanDuel, and
• 2:17
Speaker 1: here's what FanDuel has for you this week. Rolling into Halloween,
• 2:20
Speaker 1: a little college football wildcard. for FanDuel Rewards Club members.
• 2:25
Speaker 1: All you're going to do is when you go into
• 2:27
Speaker 1: the app, by the way, there is a responsible gaming
• 2:29
Speaker 1: section tab in the app. You can go to fanduel.com
• 2:31
Speaker 1: slash play with the plan because we gamble responsibly on
• 2:34
Speaker 1: this show. But for your little trick or treat, for
• 2:36
Speaker 1: your little fun, for your little piece of candy, if
• 2:38
Speaker 1: you are a FanDuel Rewards Club member, you'll go in,
• 2:41
Speaker 1: there is a college football wildcard reward waiting for you.
• 2:44
Speaker 1: You will tap that A card will flip, so a
• 2:46
Speaker 1: little trick-or-treat element involved. The card will flip over, and
• 2:50
Speaker 1: you will see what your reward is. All you got
• 2:52
Speaker 1: to do is on Friday, you go into FanDuel. If
• 2:55
Speaker 1: you're a Rewards Club member, you tap the college football
• 2:58
Speaker 1: wild card. You'll get a card revealed to you. Trick-or-treat. Yeah. Trick-or-treat.
• 3:05
Speaker 2: That little last sentence was a little bit of a trick,
• 3:07
  Speaker 2: wasn't it?
• 3:07
Speaker 1: A little bit of a trick. It's all good.
• 3:09
  Speaker 2: You treat.
• 3:11
Speaker 1: I think I got it. You want to double check?
• 3:13
Speaker 1: I think I got it. I'm kind of looking through it.
• 3:15
Speaker 1: What you get, that's the fun part. Once you make
• 3:17
Speaker 1: your pip, you flip the card, no tricks, just a
• 3:19
Speaker 1: little Halloween treat for being a part of the Fandu
• 3:22
Speaker 1: Rewards Club. Just a reminder, this Ford leaderboard segment is
• 3:25
Speaker 1: brought to us by Ford. A hard day's work starts
• 3:27
Speaker 1: with one thing, someone willing to do it. And where
• 3:30
  Speaker 1: there's a will, there's a Ford F-Series truck. Should we
• 3:33
Speaker 1: take a look at the four leaderboard right now? Let's
• 3:34
Speaker 1: take a look at the four leaderboard because right now,
• 3:37
Speaker 1: over the last four weeks, four weeks ago, Taylor, when
• 3:40
Speaker 1: you dropped the little tokens in there, if a $ 1, 000 winner,
• 3:43
Speaker 1: any winner in there, let's just say it was $ 1, 000.
• 3:45
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 3:46
Speaker 1: If that winner is sitting there like, I'm Taylor and
• 3:48
Speaker 1: Willie C for the next four weeks, that $ 1, 000 reward
• 3:52
Speaker 1: is almost 30 grand because I'm up about 30 units
• 3:55
Speaker 1: over the last four weeks.
• 3:56
  Speaker 4: God.
• 3:57
Speaker 1: Just FYI. Yeah. Yeah. It's nice to be able to
• 4:00
Speaker 1: talk about it. Go ahead, Ryan. You can clap for that.
• 4:01
Speaker 1: You can clap for that. That's fine.
• 4:03
  Speaker 2: That's fine.
• 4:03
  Speaker 1: It's allowed.
• 4:05
  Speaker 2: Phenomenal.
• 4:06
Speaker 3: What are the totals?
• 4:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, what are the totals? Because I see a lot
• 4:10
  Speaker 2: of numbers here.
• 4:11
Speaker 1: 18 units over the weekend?
• 4:12
  Speaker 3: That's amazing.
• 4:13
Speaker 2: So, Will, you're in striking distance of Josh Pate. I
• 4:17
Speaker 2: am not doing well. But you've had a tough two weeks.
• 4:21
Speaker 2: I've had a tough two weeks.
• 4:22
Speaker 1: You've lost 22 over the last two. And there's no
• 4:26
Speaker 1: one to blame but me.
• 4:27
Speaker 2: I sat here. I could have had five extra units
• 4:30
Speaker 2: if I would have just took in Michigan with the
• 4:32
Speaker 2: points last week. Ego takes place. You guys start wearing
• 4:36
Speaker 2: on me. Peer pressure all of a sudden. And the
• 4:39
Speaker 2: most sickening part of it all is we should have
• 4:42
Speaker 2: won that game. Missed two field goals. We talked.
• 4:45
Speaker 1: It's not even worth talking about. I'm not doing this.
• 4:48
Speaker 2: I'm not doing this, but I will say it's not
• 4:51
  Speaker 2: the player's fault. It's not the defense's fault. It's not
• 4:53
Speaker 2: the head coach's fault. It's not the DC's fault. It
• 4:55
Speaker 2: could be the kicker's fault a little bit. It could
• 4:57
Speaker 2: be the kicker's fault a little bit.
• 5:01
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 5:02
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 5:02
  Speaker 1: That's it. It's not the fan's fault. It's not the
• 5:05
Speaker 1: fan's fault. It's not the head coach's fault. It's all good.
• 5:08
Speaker 1: Somebody with a headset on. Yeah.
• 5:11
Speaker 2: Someone with a headset on is really trying to, they're
• 5:14
Speaker 2: trying to fuck my season right now.
• 5:16
  Speaker 1: And I don't like it.
• 5:16
  Speaker 3: Trying?
• 5:18
Speaker 1: They, listen, I was.
• 5:21
Speaker 2: Where you were on Monday and I sat on the
• 5:23
Speaker 2: bus and I talked about how playoffs are probably out
• 5:26
Speaker 2: of the question at this point. You run the schedule.
• 5:30
Speaker 2: You run the schedule, Joshua. You got to play UCLA,
• 5:35
Speaker 2: who's a top 10 team right now, probably will be
• 5:37
Speaker 2: top five by the time we get there if they
• 5:39
Speaker 2: don't lay an egg. And then Ohio State, which you
• 5:42
Speaker 2: don't have to make it in the college football playoff.
• 5:43
Speaker 2: But as it stands right now, they're a top five team.
• 5:45
Speaker 3: I got more on that, but finish your thought.
• 5:46
  Speaker 2: Okay.
• 5:47
Speaker 1: Well, that's the end of it. You win those games.
• 5:50
Speaker 2: And you beat an Oregon team with a great roster.
• 5:51
Speaker 1: Your thought's over. Your thought's over.
• 5:54
Speaker 3: My thought's over. Your thought's done.
• 5:56
Speaker 1: You don't start cooking again. I know.
• 5:59
Speaker 2: And it's just, it's disgusting. But all that to be said.
• 6:02
Speaker 2: Big game against Rutgers. Swinging a big stick this week.
• 6:04
Speaker 2: A lot of people, they would shy away. They would
• 6:06
Speaker 2: go in the shadows after two weeks of this.
• 6:08
Speaker 1: No, sir. No, sir.
• 6:09
Speaker 2: I feel more confident than ever about this week. It's
• 6:11
Speaker 2: time to flip it around. So if you're ready to
• 6:13
Speaker 2: jump back on board.
• 6:14
Speaker 3: Well, also, I mean, contractually, you're obligated to be here
• 6:19
  Speaker 3: every week.
• 6:20
Speaker 2: Yeah, but I could sit back. I could say, oh,
• 6:22
Speaker 2: I'm going to do a one on this one. I'm
• 6:23
Speaker 2: going to do a two on this one.
• 6:24
Speaker 3: But three is the new one.
• 6:25
Speaker 1: Three is the new one.
• 6:26
Speaker 2: Four is the new one.
• 6:27
  Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
• 6:28
Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, wow. Four is the new one. We're swinging
• 6:31
Speaker 1: a big stick this week.
• 6:32
Speaker 3: Shouldn't we all just be copying him? That's twice as
• 6:35
Speaker 3: good a week, almost mathematically twice as good a week
• 6:38
Speaker 3: as anyone else has had all year.
• 6:39
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 6:40
Speaker 3: How did he do it? How'd you do it?
• 6:41
Speaker 1: I saw the board clearly. Okay.
• 6:43
Speaker 2: Yeah, Will's got access to a unique catapult of something
• 6:46
Speaker 2: taking place right now.
• 6:47
Speaker 3: Do you have a model?
• 6:48
Speaker 1: I got an itty bitty model somewhere. Yeah. It's a
• 6:52
Speaker 1: little bit bigger than Josh's the last few weeks.
• 6:55
Speaker 2: Size doesn't necessarily matter.
• 6:56
Speaker 1: When I slot the table for LSU, I gave that pick.
• 7:00
Speaker 1: I gave that pick to our boy, Darius Rucker. My
• 7:02
Speaker 1: first pick ever given to Darius Rucker because he's wanted
• 7:04
Speaker 1: picks since he's been on the bus. I've never felt
• 7:06
Speaker 1: confident giving him a pick. You see that? That name
• 7:09
Speaker 1: you just dropped on the ground right there?
• 7:11
Speaker 2: You want to put that up?
• 7:11
Speaker 1: There you go. Darius Rucker, stud, legend. Legend. And last
• 7:17
Speaker 1: week we were at Boston and Pate on campus and
• 7:19
Speaker 1: he sent a photo like, where are you guys at?
• 7:20
Speaker 1: He was at the equestrian. I don't know if it
• 7:22
Speaker 1: was the national title, whatever it was, but he was
• 7:24
Speaker 1: at the equestrian thing, their event. And cause he couldn't
• 7:27
Speaker 1: make it to Boston and Pate. And I was like,
• 7:29
Speaker 1: I laughed and I just put hammer LSU to cover.
• 7:34
Speaker 1: Cause I saw that one as clear as day. That
• 7:36
Speaker 1: was my five unit boy last week. Darius Rucker reaches
• 7:38
Speaker 1: out to you, asking where you are. Your response is laughter,
• 7:41
Speaker 1: fall by, take this pick. I didn't know what to
• 7:43
Speaker 1: tell him. That is the most Will Compton.
• 7:44
Speaker 3: And you've never given him a bet before. What a
• 7:49
Speaker 3: weekend Darius Rucker must've had. He had a five unit
• 7:51
Speaker 3: bet and he watched the South Carolina Gamecocks win in Cocktopia.
• 7:56
Speaker 1: Take care of business.
• 7:57
Speaker 2: Take care of business. I listened to the Monday show.
• 8:02
Speaker 2: No clapping from Jack McPherson.
• 8:03
  Speaker 1: I will.
• 8:04
  Speaker 3: He's busy.
• 8:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, but you listened to.
• 8:06
  Speaker 2: The Monday show.
• 8:06
Speaker 3: I listened to the Monday show because I was with
• 8:09
Speaker 3: JP for a lot of Saturday, but then as oceans
• 8:12
Speaker 3: of humanity do, we kind of drifted apart. Then I
• 8:14
Speaker 3: got a FaceTime from him much later, and you were
• 8:17
Speaker 3: in traffic. I was in traffic, smiling. Yeah, with thousands
• 8:21
  Speaker 3: of your friends.
• 8:21
  Speaker 2: Right, solo.
• 8:23
Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Quick break to shout out Neutral. No free
• 8:27
Speaker 1: shout outs to Neutral. Neutral tastes great and tastes so
• 8:28
Speaker 1: much better than what else is out there. It's made
• 8:30
Speaker 1: with real vodka and real juice and it comes in
• 8:33
Speaker 1: a variety of flavors. New flavors like lime and strawberry
• 8:36
Speaker 1: along with their popular flavors like pineapple and watermelon to
• 8:39
Speaker 1: name a couple. It's perfect for social occasions because it's
• 8:43
Speaker 1: such a crowd pleaser. especially during the summer and football season.
• 8:47
Speaker 1: Think on a beach with friends, at an outdoor bar,
• 8:49
Speaker 1: on the lake, at a musical festival, at the bar
• 8:51
Speaker 1: with the boys watching the games. It's the perfect time
• 8:54
Speaker 1: of year to grab a 12-pack of Neutral for the
• 8:56
Speaker 1: beach or grab a bucket deal in your favorite bar
• 8:59
Speaker 1: to root on your favorite team. Neutral, keep it tasty.
• 9:02
Speaker 2: All right, come here real quick. See that little brown
• 9:05
Speaker 2: can right there? That's a Lucy Espresso. That is my
• 9:09
Speaker 2: number one go-to when I'm hitting Lucy. Those bad boys,

Speaker 2: they go up to 12 milligrams so they have an
• 9:13
Speaker 2: extra kick. whether we're traveling around the country, doing interviews

Speaker 2: or busing and paying on campus, and I need to
• 9:18
Speaker 2: focus and lock in, that is what I reach for.
• 9:22
Speaker 2: It's like having a shot of coffee right off the top.

• 9:47
Speaker 2: This product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical. Let's
• 9:51
Speaker 2: get back to the episode.
• 9:52
Speaker 1: He's beaming and it's Wednesday. But I think the separation
• 9:55
Speaker 1: there is JP's life Right. Truly, I know it's on
• 10:00
Speaker 1: the Mount Rushmore weekends of all time, but arguably, maybe
• 10:03
Speaker 1: outside of what, marriage? Truly. Your greatest weekend of our
• 10:07
Speaker 1: day of all time. On camera, on record, you put
• 10:10
Speaker 1: marriage in there, but off camera, I think we.
• 10:12
  Speaker 2: Could all say.
• 10:13
Speaker 1: Yeah. It's smashing the pumpkin. You can't argue with that.
• 10:18
  Speaker 2: That's just a fact.
• 10:19
  Speaker 3: Right.
• 10:20
Speaker 1: Smashing the pumpkin on Busset and Pate, like Friday, the
• 10:23
Speaker 1: juice you had Friday, the show up or the show
• 10:25
Speaker 1: out from all the fans from the school. The journalism school,
• 10:31
Speaker 1: people getting the interviews like you're just embedded. And then
• 10:34
Speaker 1: after the game, you storm the field, you see Shane
• 10:36
Speaker 1: Beamer in the locker room. You're getting introduced to all
• 10:39
Speaker 1: the players. You're having moments with all the players. You're
• 10:42
Speaker 1: FaceTiming Josh Pate. You call to tell a story and
• 10:45
Speaker 1: your voice, you can just tell it's shot and it's gone.
• 10:48
Speaker 1: and you're laying your head on the pillow on Saturday night,
• 10:50
Speaker 1: and it's how do you beat the last 48 hours
• 10:55
  Speaker 1: for J.P.
• 10:55
Speaker 2: Hovey? The one thing that you did not mention that
• 10:58
Speaker 2: makes this even better of a weekend is that Josh
• 11:02
Speaker 2: Pate took a young boy and turned him into a
• 11:04
Speaker 2: Gamecock fan for life.
• 11:06
  Speaker 3: JP.
• 11:07
  Speaker 1: Yeah. JP.
• 11:08
  Speaker 3: I did nothing.
• 11:10
Speaker 2: JP both have J's and P's. I was thinking about
• 11:15
Speaker 2: my units and how they're down. I was here and
• 11:17
Speaker 2: then I wasn't here, but I'm back to being here.
• 11:19
  Speaker 1: JP Huffy. Yeah.
• 11:20
Speaker 2: Getting a young six-year-old for the rest of his life
• 11:23
Speaker 2: will be a cock fan.
• 11:28
Speaker 3: I just think it's never been more important than ever
• 11:29
Speaker 3: that people understand the context when they're watching this show.
• 11:31
Speaker 3: Some people may tune in at specific times and hear
• 11:33
Speaker 3: some out of context clips and You're talking about kids
• 11:36
Speaker 3: and Cocktober and all this sort of stuff.
• 11:38
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 11:38
  Speaker 3: But it's accurate.
• 11:40
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 11:40
Speaker 3: The look on your face. You've seen it. Well, you
• 11:42
Speaker 3: know your face. But there were several times where Savannah
• 11:45
Speaker 3: would elbow me and say, look at JP. And I
• 11:48
Speaker 3: would look over there and it would just be a
• 11:50
Speaker 3: second and three. Nothing big has happened. And you were just.
• 11:54
Speaker 1: Just taking it all in, man. Busted and paid on
• 12:01
Speaker 1: campus at Wake Forest this Friday. A lot to live
• 12:04
Speaker 1: up to. A lot to live up to.
• 12:06
Speaker 3: You ever been there?
• 12:08
  Speaker 2: I have not.
• 12:08
Speaker 3: Have you ever been there?
• 12:09
  Speaker 2: I haven't either.
• 12:10
  Speaker 1: I've heard it's a beautiful campus.
• 12:12
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what Tom told us. Yeah, that's all I've
• 12:14
Speaker 3: heard about the place. That's our scouting report so far.
• 12:16
Speaker 1: We should have called Mike Campanaro. He's talked about how
• 12:19
Speaker 1: pretty of a place that is. It's beautiful.
• 12:20
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 12:21
Speaker 2: I'm sure the foliage this year. God, with the leaves,
• 12:23
Speaker 2: it's got to be incredible.
• 12:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, because what state's that in? North Carolina? I think
• 12:26
  Speaker 1: it is.
• 12:27
Speaker 2: I don't even know it was in North Carolina. I
• 12:30
Speaker 2: knew it was the east part of the country, but
• 12:31
Speaker 2: like Wake Forest, I don't know.
• 12:32
Speaker 3: Wait, are you just saying that? Or do you know
• 12:34
Speaker 3: that North Carolina is the best foliage state in the U.S.?
• 12:37
Speaker 3: I know, look it up.
• 12:38
Speaker 1: North Carolina has the best foliage state in the U.S.
• 12:40
Speaker 1: I thought Vermont was the best foliage state.
• 12:42
Speaker 3: That's what I would have gone with.
• 12:42
Speaker 1: Yeah, Vermont would be my choice. I've looked at what
• 12:45
Speaker 1: parts of America have the longest foliage.
• 12:48
  Speaker 3: Are these rankings?
• 12:49
Speaker 1: Because I enjoy it the most. Yeah.
• 12:51
Speaker 3: To potentially live one day. Vermont, Minnesota, Colorado, Michigan, Virginia.
• 12:55
Speaker 3: So exactly what you said.
• 12:57
Speaker 1: So you looked it up? I thought I did. Clearly
• 13:02
Speaker 1: you did not. The top five. Vermont though. We were
• 13:07
Speaker 1: on it with Vermont.
• 13:08
Speaker 3: That's not the main event here. The main event is,
• 13:11
Speaker 3: how frequently have you just been saying stuff?
• 13:13
  Speaker 1: I don't know.
• 13:18
Speaker 2: Which United States is the best portfolio?
• 13:20
Speaker 3: He didn't laugh. He just said it. He said, well,
• 13:22
Speaker 3: you know, North Carolina is the number one folio state
• 13:24
Speaker 3: in the country. And he was going to continue with
• 13:26
  Speaker 3: the sentence. Right.
• 13:27
Speaker 2: And if we didn't have somebody just Google that now,
• 13:28
Speaker 2: we all would have walked away and be like, damn,
• 13:30
  Speaker 2: I don't know if North.
• 13:30
Speaker 1: Carolina is like that. It's not even top five. It's
• 13:33
Speaker 1: not even top five.
• 13:35
  Speaker 3: You've just seen.
• 13:37
Speaker 1: Pictures of App State. I could have swore I saw something.
• 13:40
Speaker 2: You can't pull up a Reddit page where it just
• 13:42
Speaker 2: says East Tennessee and Carolina are also nice. It might
• 13:46
  Speaker 2: as well.
• 13:47
Speaker 1: Put them as number one. What's that? What'd you Google?
• 13:52
Speaker 1: Top foliage states in the U.S. Type in who's got
• 13:57
Speaker 1: the longest foliage season. Well, that's a different conversation. Well,
• 14:00
Speaker 1: I said longest foliage season.
• 14:02
  Speaker 3: You said that.
• 14:02
Speaker 1: I also said that. Uh-oh, vindication. New York.
• 14:10
Speaker 2: New York, all right.
• 14:13
  Speaker 1: All right.
• 14:15
  Speaker 2: Okay.
• 14:16
Speaker 1: I'm talking out of my ass right now for all
• 14:19
Speaker 1: the people doing this. I just pray. We can do
• 14:21
Speaker 1: that Friday. It can look stunning. And that's all you need.
• 14:23
Speaker 1: All you need is one little sample size.
• 14:25
Speaker 3: It's going to be totally green over there.
• 14:27
Speaker 1: Nothing is even going to change.
• 14:28
Speaker 2: The leaves are already gone. They're short as foliage stage
• 14:31
  Speaker 2: of all time.
• 14:32
  Speaker 1: Damn it. I don't know, boys. I don't know what
• 14:35
Speaker 1: I was looking up. Hey, leaves are not.
• 14:37
Speaker 2: That fan base has a lot to live up to
• 14:39
Speaker 2: with October. Like ever since Virginia Tech, it's been great
• 14:43
Speaker 2: fan base, great showing every single week.
• 14:45
Speaker 1: Like the Demon Deacons, they better figure it.
• 14:46
Speaker 2: Out in a hurry.
• 14:48
  Speaker 1: They're weak demons.
• 14:49
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 14:50
  Speaker 1: Halloween. Yes.
• 14:52
  Speaker 2: Spooky.
• 14:54
  Speaker 1: Spooky.
• 14:55
Speaker 2: Spooktober Friday, you just have a little playoff softball game,
• 14:59
  Speaker 2: don't you?
• 14:59
  Speaker 3: I do.
• 14:59
Speaker 1: Championship or just playoffs?
• 15:01
  Speaker 3: Playoff and championship. It's a one-night deal.
• 15:03
Speaker 1: How are you running right now? How are you hitting them?
• 15:06
Speaker 3: I'm going to find out later today.
• 15:08
Speaker 1: Oh, you haven't hit at all?
• 15:09
Speaker 3: I haven't hit since the beginning of the year.
• 15:10
  Speaker 1: No way.
• 15:11
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 15:12
Speaker 1: So you've been on the bench.
• 15:15
Speaker 3: Well, I've been with you. I've been with you guys.
• 15:16
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 15:17
Speaker 2: How does that make you feel that people are taking
• 15:19
Speaker 2: away from your dreams and aspirations of being a softball champion?
• 15:22
Speaker 1: I did that to myself.
• 15:23
  Speaker 3: I have a question.
• 15:24
Speaker 1: You've just been on ice all regular season and it's
• 15:27
  Speaker 1: time to activate.
• 15:29
Speaker 3: I'm on the roster. I'm on the roster.
• 15:31
Speaker 1: But I'm saying you haven't played in the regular season.
• 15:33
Speaker 3: I played opening night.
• 15:34
Speaker 1: Opening night. On the shelf.
• 15:36
  Speaker 3: I'm bookending it.
• 15:37
  Speaker 2: Yeah, you've been at H.S.
• 15:39
  Speaker 1: All year.
• 15:39
  Speaker 3: Yep.
• 15:40
  Speaker 1: Got you.
• 15:40
Speaker 2: Playoff paint. That kind of fires me up. We're going
• 15:44
Speaker 2: to see. And you have one playoff game, then possibly
• 15:47
  Speaker 2: a championship.
• 15:48
Speaker 3: I think it's three. We may play a max of three.
• 15:51
  Speaker 1: In one night?
• 15:51
Speaker 3: Yeah. People have done harder, though. I read the stuff
• 15:54
Speaker 3: about World War II and what people went through.
• 15:56
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 15:57
Speaker 3: So I'll be okay.
• 15:58
Speaker 1: It's comparable. Yeah, I'll be okay.
• 15:59
Speaker 2: It's comparable to tape play. We've got to show that.
• 16:01
Speaker 1: To Clay Matthews, because Clay was worried about the doubleheader. Yeah,
• 16:05
  Speaker 1: he was.
• 16:06
Speaker 2: How'd that go Saturday?
• 16:08
  Speaker 1: Championship.
• 16:09
Speaker 3: Yeah, they won it?
• 16:10
Speaker 2: Took care of it.
• 16:11
Speaker 3: And then what happened afterwards? I was more concerned with
• 16:13
Speaker 3: afterwards and before than the game itself.
• 16:15
  Speaker 1: Like afterwards?
• 16:16
Speaker 3: Parking lot situations, adults embarrassing themselves, anything like that. Clay,
• 16:22
Speaker 3: he's like, hey, are you staying for the ceremony? I
• 16:25
Speaker 3: was like, buddy, I'm here as long as you want me.
• 16:27
Speaker 3: He's like, I got something for him.
• 16:30
Speaker 1: He runs. Runs over to his car. Hard trot, he's like,
• 16:33
Speaker 1: just stay, stay longer. I'm thinking to myself, I didn't
• 16:36
Speaker 1: plan on leaving right now.
• 16:38
Speaker 2: After you just told him, I'm here as long as
• 16:40
Speaker 2: you want me to be.
• 16:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's running to his car. He gets
• 16:43
Speaker 1: these two massive boxes. He's like trotting back and he
• 16:46
Speaker 1: bought trophies for all the kids. They were fired up. Yeah,
• 16:50
Speaker 1: they were fired up. Like nice trophies. Custom.
• 16:53
  Speaker 2: Custom. Custom trophies.
• 16:54
  Speaker 1: No second place.
• 16:56
Speaker 2: That would be a question of mine is like, what
• 16:58
Speaker 2: happens if they didn't win the championship?
• 17:00
Speaker 3: He said he did that.
• 17:03
Speaker 5: And they were gonna put over like a first place
• 17:05
Speaker 5: thing if they won but it's like not gonna change
• 17:07
Speaker 5: myself last year so this.
• 17:08
Speaker 3: Year i got the first place trophies.
• 17:11
Speaker 2: So he went out and bought participation trophies before the
• 17:15
Speaker 2: game even took place last year last year he did
• 17:17
Speaker 2: last year he got second place and then he got
• 17:19
Speaker 2: the plaques like first place on so the.
• 17:22
Speaker 1: Second place ones were ready oh how big were these
• 17:24
Speaker 1: guys so he was how big was this.
• 17:25
Speaker 2: Trophy yeah unit size like this good solid.
• 17:28
Speaker 1: Oh that's a First graders hanging that thing up on
• 17:31
Speaker 1: a shelf? Oh, money. Absolutely.
• 17:33
Speaker 2: That was like the greatest thing in the world. You
• 17:35
Speaker 2: have your little desk in your room with like five
• 17:37
Speaker 2: or six trophies on it and you just think, I
• 17:39
Speaker 2: might be the man.
• 17:39
  Speaker 3: That's my life.
• 17:40
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 17:40
Speaker 3: That's my life right there on the nightstand.
• 17:42
Speaker 1: I am a champion. And you sit there and look
• 17:44
Speaker 1: up and he's got one of them tall, like sitting
• 17:46
Speaker 1: on a pole with a camera that can just rotate
• 17:49
Speaker 1: around so that way he can study film.
• 17:51
  Speaker 2: No, he doesn't.
• 17:52
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 17:52
Speaker 1: And for people tuned in that tune into this show
• 17:54
Speaker 1: and not the NFL locker room, a lot of this
• 17:56
Speaker 1: clays on the NFL locker room. And every week we
• 17:59
Speaker 1: talk about his flag football team. And they were in
• 18:02
Speaker 1: the championship last week against a heated rival. A heated rival.
• 18:06
Speaker 3: You know every flag.
• 18:10
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 18:10
Speaker 3: Don't you think every flag football league out there probably
• 18:13
Speaker 3: has at least one of those types? Someone who is
• 18:17
Speaker 3: taking thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars and invested
• 18:20
Speaker 3: it in equipment? And then they go home and watch.
• 18:23
Speaker 3: Is it 11 on 11? What is flag?
• 18:25
Speaker 2: I think it's seven on seven.
• 18:26
Speaker 3: They watch all 14 footage?
• 18:27
Speaker 1: Yeah. They go seven on seven. They get five downs.
• 18:32
Speaker 1: You get five downs across midfield. You get five downs
• 18:35
Speaker 1: across midfield and then five downs to score.
• 18:38
Speaker 2: Why do they get five downs? Because they're first graders. Okay,
• 18:41
Speaker 2: so we're just going to teach a different game and
• 18:43
Speaker 2: then they're going to get to a certain age. But
• 18:44
Speaker 2: by the way, you have one less down now? You know,
• 18:46
Speaker 2: everybody's got kind of like their rules. They have three
• 18:48
  Speaker 2: flags on.
• 18:49
Speaker 1: You know what I mean? They have the flag back? Yeah, yeah.
• 18:52
  Speaker 2: Okay.
• 18:52
Speaker 1: That makes sense. Yeah, but how we grew up and
• 18:56
Speaker 1: played ball, you had two flags. Hey, we didn't play
• 18:59
Speaker 1: flag football. All right? Oh, I played flag football.
• 19:01
  Speaker 3: Oh, shit.
• 19:02
  Speaker 1: First grade? Yeah.
• 19:06
Speaker 2: Compton right, Compton left. That was it?
• 19:09
Speaker 1: My dad, I had a- Compton right, Compton left. I
• 19:12
Speaker 1: had a bandana on.
• 19:13
  Speaker 3: All right.
• 19:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, I had a bandana on.
• 19:15
  Speaker 3: Red, blue, what?
• 19:17
Speaker 1: It was Navy because we were the Colts. So our
• 19:20
Speaker 1: jersey was white. I was number 10. Blue lettering. Navy
• 19:24
Speaker 1: blue bandana. Yeah. Quarterback. Compton left.
• 19:28
Speaker 2: And that was it. How many times did you throw
• 19:31
  Speaker 2: it that season?
• 19:32
Speaker 1: Not any. I mean- Just Willy boy, get out there
• 19:36
Speaker 1: and run. Get out there and score touchdowns. The other
• 19:38
Speaker 1: kids showed up the whole year?
• 19:40
  Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah.
• 19:41
  Speaker 3: Wow.
• 19:42
Speaker 1: And this wasn't, like these are other, usually in a
• 19:45
Speaker 1: situation like that, like your dad is the head coach.
• 19:48
Speaker 1: My old man was just on the sidelines.
• 19:50
Speaker 3: Were the head coach.
• 19:51
Speaker 1: I was the workhorse for a lot of other dads
• 19:55
Speaker 1: out there. They're like, we got to have this kid
• 19:56
Speaker 1: run the ball every time. You were the Jaden Ball
• 19:58
Speaker 1: of your squad. It's like give him the ball, we're
• 20:00
Speaker 1: going to win and lose on his back. That's what
• 20:01
Speaker 1: it is. I was Cam Newton. But didn't throw the
• 20:05
Speaker 1: ball well. Gene Bowie taking snaps.
• 20:07
Speaker 2: You and I had vastly different Pop Warner experiences. Everyone's like, Compton,
• 20:12
Speaker 2: he's got to get it done. Make sure he runs it.
• 20:13
Speaker 2: Put him on both sides. I was eight years old
• 20:16
Speaker 2: playing corner. I was the fastest kid on my team.
• 20:22
Speaker 2: And I would sit there and have the worst ADD
• 20:24
Speaker 2: where I'd be the kid like picking grass. And the
• 20:25
Speaker 2: kid would break one far away. And my dad would go, Taylor,
• 20:28
Speaker 2: get him. And I would just run, get him at
• 20:30
Speaker 2: the one yard line and they score the next play.
• 20:32
Speaker 2: Shout out the Shockers, by the way. Shout out Scottsdale Shockers.
• 20:36
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 20:37
Speaker 2: Then I quit because I was afraid of getting hit. Dang.
• 20:39
  Speaker 1: I know.
• 20:40
Speaker 3: So nothing ever came of your football career. What'd you
• 20:42
  Speaker 3: end up doing?
• 20:43
  Speaker 1: After that?
• 20:44
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 20:44
Speaker 1: Well, I'm here with you.
• 20:46
Speaker 3: You just got in media.
• 20:47
Speaker 1: I got in the media immediately. You quit Pop Warner,
• 20:48
Speaker 1: you got in media.
• 20:49
Speaker 2: I graduated high school, did construction for six years, stumbled
• 20:52
Speaker 2: upon U2, and my life took off.
• 20:55
Speaker 1: That's basically all that happened.
• 20:56
Speaker 3: You ever gone to North Carolina and seen the foliage
• 20:58
Speaker 3: over there? It is insane. I heard it's number one.
• 21:02
Speaker 3: Speaking of, should we get in the games? Should we
• 21:04
Speaker 3: talk some ball for a little bit?
• 21:06
Speaker 1: I'm thinking of my old man real quick.
• 21:11
Speaker 3: Pawpaw, or is this your dad?
• 21:12
Speaker 1: Where is dad? Have you met.
• 21:15
Speaker 3: So where we lived.
• 21:17
Speaker 1: One of one. Yeah. One of one. So where we lived,
• 21:20
Speaker 1: I've alluded to it in the past on shows. Remember
• 21:23
Speaker 1: how we had to get our yard dug up because
• 21:25
Speaker 1: we had lead in our yard? But across the street,
• 21:31
  Speaker 1: across the street.
• 21:32
Speaker 3: I'm going to maintain it.
• 21:33
Speaker 1: Go. Across the street and over the creek, we had
• 21:36
Speaker 1: a chat dump in our town. Like this chat dump.
• 21:39
Speaker 1: You can Google it, look it up. Like huge chat dump.
• 21:42
Speaker 1: Chat dump? Chat dump. What's chat? Chat. Like chat? Like OG?
• 21:47
Speaker 1: Like this is where people would go to talk and
• 21:49
Speaker 1: they just- I guess like gravel and sand and like chat.
• 21:52
Speaker 3: This is like Missouri nomenclature. We don't know what that means.
• 21:54
Speaker 3: Can you look up chat? I have no idea what
• 21:55
  Speaker 3: this is.
• 21:56
  Speaker 2: What is chat?
• 21:57
Speaker 1: It's chat, guys. Made of course, what is that? Chirt, dolomite, limestone,
• 22:03
Speaker 1: and sulfide rocks. Okay.
• 22:08
Speaker 4: Often laced with heavy, heavy, with toxic heavy metals like lead, zinc, cadmium.
• 22:16
Speaker 4: My dad in second grade would take me over to
• 22:19
Speaker 4: the jet dump and I'd have to run sprints.
• 22:21
Speaker 1: I'd have to climb the jet dump.
• 22:26
Speaker 3: Do you know how big an insurance liability you have
• 22:30
Speaker 3: become over the past minute?
• 22:31
Speaker 1: Dude, you are every bit of a 90s kid. You
• 22:34
Speaker 1: are every bit. Next season, there was one game I
• 22:38
Speaker 1: went six. Went for six. Touchdown, son. Laugh all they want.
• 22:44
Speaker 1: Laugh all they want. That lead fueled you. We're watching Rocky.
• 22:47
Speaker 1: You were radioactive running around.
• 22:49
Speaker 3: Getting weaned on Elmer's glute.
• 22:51
Speaker 1: Running into Jack Doe.
• 22:54
Speaker 2: The fact of the story that started with, we had
• 22:56
Speaker 2: lead in our yard. So we had to let that out.
• 22:57
Speaker 2: They had to dig it out. They had to dig
• 22:59
Speaker 2: it out because of the lead. It's like, no shit,
• 23:01
Speaker 2: there was lead everywhere. How are you digging that up?
• 23:04
Speaker 2: It's just gonna come back over with a strong breeze.
• 23:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, I have no clue. I just look out the
• 23:09
Speaker 1: window and see that everything was dirt in the yard. Mom,
• 23:11
Speaker 1: what's happened? We have lead in the yard. Don't worry
• 23:14
  Speaker 1: about it.
• 23:15
Speaker 3: You have a glass of tap water.
• 23:17
Speaker 1: Dude, everything's making so much sense as well.
• 23:20
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 23:20
Speaker 2: You got that, hey, that little tumor. You weren't born
• 23:22
Speaker 2: with that tumor in the back.
• 23:23
Speaker 1: Of your head. You might. I mean, I didn't know
• 23:26
Speaker 1: that that was the definition of a Chad, though, with
• 23:27
Speaker 1: all that stuffing. I'm born with that, too.
• 23:29
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 23:30
Speaker 1: We've shown a lot of things in the show that
• 23:32
Speaker 1: you didn't know about. 11 GPA grading, yeah. Yeah, I mean.
• 23:39
Speaker 3: Did you see this breaking news from NBC?
• 23:41
Speaker 1: Talked to some mountain beloved in X mining town. And
• 23:44
Speaker 1: it was beloved. Like that's the Chad Dome. Somebody coming
• 23:50
Speaker 1: in town visiting, you're like, there's the Chad Dome. Dude.
• 23:52
Speaker 1: What's that? Maybe we can go climb it.
• 23:54
Speaker 2: Just a bunch of people from Missouri, like tying themselves
• 23:56
Speaker 2: to the part of the Chad Dome. Just hand in hand.
• 23:59
Speaker 2: We're not letting you take this away from us.
• 24:01
  Speaker 1: We need this.
• 24:02
Speaker 3: Don't tread on this Chad Dome.
• 24:04
Speaker 1: Exactly. Okay. That's where 4th of July would take place.
• 24:07
Speaker 1: All the people, they'd spend all the money. They'd get
• 24:09
Speaker 1: on top of the chat dump and just rip them
• 24:10
Speaker 1: off so you can see them from everywhere.
• 24:12
  Speaker 3: Spend the money.
• 24:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, like 10,000 plus on fireworks.
• 24:18
Speaker 3: Oh, I thought you meant they were charging. Like someone
• 24:20
Speaker 3: just basically set up a perimeter around the chat dump.
• 24:22
Speaker 3: You want to come in here?
• 24:23
Speaker 1: 20? That's their version of an amusement park. All right.
• 24:30
Speaker 2: Virginia at Wake Forest.
• 24:31
Speaker 3: What a Google search history this morning so far.
• 24:34
Speaker 2: Virginia at Wake Forest. Wake is favored by 12.5 points.
• 24:37
Speaker 2: Total in that game was 49.5.
• 24:39
  Speaker 1: This game takes.
• 24:39
Speaker 2: Place in the number one foliage spot in all of America,
• 24:42
Speaker 2: North Carolina. Will, you've been on fire.
• 24:45
Speaker 1: Take that lead, Brandon. Take us on a journey, buddy.
• 24:47
Speaker 1: Where are we going? Right now, I can't think because
• 24:49
Speaker 1: I want to say your phone's vibrating a lot right now.
• 24:51
Speaker 1: Is it? Yeah. Where's it at? Oh, I'm getting a call. Nope.
• 24:57
  Speaker 2: Onward.
• 24:59
Speaker 1: The vibration. Didn't handle that.
• 25:05
Speaker 3: That and that alone.
• 25:06
Speaker 1: From what we just went through. Yeah, yeah, no, no.
• 25:08
Speaker 2: It all makes all sense. Clearly something can throw you off.
• 25:10
Speaker 2: Clearly when there's a cell thing and your brain's like...
• 25:14
  Speaker 2: Gio Lopez.
• 25:15
Speaker 1: Is a dog. 1,900 yards. Dog.
• 25:18
  Speaker 2: 67% completions.
• 25:20
  Speaker 1: Dog.
• 25:20
  Speaker 2: 23 total touchdowns.
• 25:22
  Speaker 1: Dog.
• 25:23
  Speaker 2: Explosive offense.
• 25:24
Speaker 1: And even when you say 67% completion percentage, that's also
• 25:27
Speaker 1: against the blitz. That's also against man coverage. Like this
• 25:30
Speaker 1: dude can shred it up. A lot of times you'll
• 25:33
Speaker 1: see 70% against zone and they drop in the 50
• 25:35
Speaker 1: percentile against like blitz when you pressure this young man,
• 25:38
Speaker 1: not Gio Lopez. He's a dog. Wake Forest is hot
• 25:42
Speaker 1: right now. They are, in my opinion, they are the
• 25:44
Speaker 1: team that has to be in the ACC championship against Miami.
• 25:47
Speaker 1: They can be 11 and one going into that game, right?
• 25:51
Speaker 1: It would be 11 and one. Um, They're not strong
• 26:00
Speaker 1: on the offensive line. And that is what is keeping
• 26:03
Speaker 1: me from going Wake Forest minus 12 and a half.
• 26:05
Speaker 1: Gio Lopez has shown that he'll still get the ball
• 26:07
Speaker 1: out quick. Who's the young man? Hernandez. Hernandez. They like
• 26:13
Speaker 1: to mix it up. They love mesh in third medium.
• 26:15
Speaker 1: They like putting this Hernandez kid in the three slot
• 26:18
Speaker 1: at speed and working him on the sticks and on
• 26:21
Speaker 1: the chains. But there's this, man, what is his name?
• 26:25
Speaker 1: Matthew Fotz- Do you know what I'm talking about right now?
• 26:29
  Speaker 3: Close. Faults White.
• 26:31
  Speaker 1: Faults White.
• 26:31
  Speaker 2: Fobbs White.
• 26:32
Speaker 1: Fobbs White has the most pressures, or he's top five
• 26:36
Speaker 1: in pressures across the country. He gets after the quarterback.
• 26:39
Speaker 1: You turn on his tape, he can get after people.
• 26:41
Speaker 1: You know I'm big when it comes to pass rush.
• 26:44
Speaker 1: For this line right here, I believe I'm going to
• 26:47
Speaker 1: go Virginia plus 12.5. And I'm only going to go
• 26:50
Speaker 1: two units. My confidence level is a two. Wake Forest,
• 26:53
Speaker 1: to me, is going to win the game. But if
• 26:56
Speaker 1: Virginia is strong anywhere that Wake Forest is weak, it
• 26:59
Speaker 1: is the pass rush. It's just getting home and getting
• 27:01
Speaker 1: Gio Lopez to the ground before he gets the ball out.
• 27:03
Speaker 1: Because he can scramble. He can do all the things.
• 27:06
Speaker 1: But I'm going to go Virginia plus 12.5. Their offense
• 27:10
Speaker 1: has stalled over the last few weeks.
• 27:12
  Speaker 3: But.
• 27:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, I like this being within 12 and a half.
• 27:16
Speaker 1: So I'm going to go confidence level two. Confidence level two.
• 27:22
Speaker 2: All the things you said about Wake Forest, I mean,
• 27:24
Speaker 2: they're an explosive offense. They like to throw the ball downfield,
• 27:27
Speaker 2: and they utilize their run game in a lot of
• 27:30
Speaker 2: just throwing it out to the perimeter to Hernandez because
• 27:32
Speaker 2: he's a big yards after catch type of guy. Offensive
• 27:35
Speaker 2: line is not phenomenal in pass throw, but they are offensive.
• 27:38
Speaker 2: Much better as far as road grading. I mean, they
• 27:40
Speaker 2: don't have like a key running back that can get
• 27:42
Speaker 2: done for them. They're more of a running back by
• 27:43
Speaker 2: committee and then having Lopez also run the ball. Virginia
• 27:48
Speaker 2: wants to play strong defense and they want to control
• 27:51
Speaker 2: the ball on offense, time of possession on offense. Take
• 27:54
Speaker 2: care of the football, run it. Bo Pribula, the Missouri transfer,
• 27:59
Speaker 2: he was also at Penn State two years ago, right?
• 28:02
Speaker 2: He hasn't thrown for over 200 yards recently. in the
• 28:05
Speaker 2: last four games that he's played, the way Wake Forest plays,
• 28:08
Speaker 2: they haven't scored less than 30 all season long. They
• 28:11
Speaker 2: are going to get points in this game. They are
• 28:13
Speaker 2: going to press the tempo, and I think they have
• 28:15
Speaker 2: a way of getting up. And when that happens, it's
• 28:17
Speaker 2: going to take Virginia out of their comfort zone, where
• 28:19
Speaker 2: I can see Pribula making a few mistakes. I actually
• 28:23
Speaker 2: really like Wake Forest, minus 12.5 here. They're a team
• 28:26
Speaker 2: that I think also understands that if there is– Everyone
• 28:31
Speaker 2: knows it's Miami and then it's everybody else. I think
• 28:34
Speaker 2: we're starting to see Wake Forest get hot at the
• 28:36
Speaker 2: right times and take care of business. They're a dogfight
• 28:38
Speaker 2: against Louisville, which they win with a field goal at
• 28:41
Speaker 2: the end of the game. But since then, they've handled
• 28:43
Speaker 2: everybody they're supposed to handle by a large margin. So
• 28:47
Speaker 2: I like Wake Forest here, minus 12 and a half,
• 28:49
Speaker 2: big stick swing, four.
• 28:50
  Speaker 3: Four.
• 28:51
Speaker 1: Four on that one.
• 28:53
  Speaker 3: ACC.
• 28:54
Speaker 1: ACC. Some ACC chaos. No doubt. No doubt.
• 28:57
  Speaker 3: But.
• 28:58
Speaker 1: Wake Forest, are they actually good or are they ACC good?
• 29:00
Speaker 2: We will find out, but I kind of love Gio Lopez.
• 29:04
Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a beast. I love the way he operates.
• 29:06
Speaker 2: And the whole offense runs through him because their backs
• 29:09
Speaker 2: don't have incredible numbers, but they're still rushing 4.5 yards
• 29:12
Speaker 2: per carry when they are running the football. They want
• 29:15
Speaker 2: to throw, but they get these safeties to come down
• 29:18
Speaker 2: with the perimeter, and that's when you see Hernandez deep.
• 29:22
  Speaker 1: Josh Pate.
• 29:23
Speaker 3: I agree with everything about your breakdown. I thought you
• 29:25
Speaker 3: were going under. Like you laid out the case for
• 29:27
Speaker 3: the under style of play from Virginia. Also, the offense
• 29:30
Speaker 3: is tailed back. You talked about Wake Forest. You talked
• 29:33
Speaker 3: about strengths and weaknesses there like Gio Lopez. So it's
• 29:37
Speaker 3: been if you look at some of these guys. you
• 29:40
Speaker 3: can say this about actually these guys that have been
• 29:42
Speaker 3: in multiple spots. Now that we're several years into the
• 29:45
Speaker 3: portal era, it starts being this truth telling mechanism because
• 29:50
Speaker 3: these guys develop a reputation. But then all of a
• 29:52
Speaker 3: sudden they end up at a place and they pop
• 29:54
Speaker 3: and you're like, well, what does that say about the
• 29:56
Speaker 3: previous places they were at? So you got that. I
• 29:59
  Speaker 3: think that 49.5 is a number that's a little bit
• 30:01
Speaker 3: too high here. Several possibilities, again, that you just laid out,
• 30:05
Speaker 3: so I won't even repeat them. Leave me towards the under.
• 30:07
Speaker 3: So I'll go under 49.5 for three.
• 30:12
  Speaker 1: Units.
• 30:14
Speaker 3: And if I had to pick, I would take weight
• 30:16
Speaker 3: to cover. But in like a 26 to 13 or
• 30:21
Speaker 3: 30 to 13 kind of game.
• 30:24
Speaker 1: What's your little baby computer say about this?
• 30:26
  Speaker 3: He likes weight.
• 30:27
Speaker 1: It likes Wake. Yeah.
• 30:28
Speaker 3: Not huge to cover.
• 30:29
Speaker 1: You kind of like the under, don't you? No, no, no.
• 30:30
Speaker 2: I feel I like Wake Forest. Like all the things
• 30:33
Speaker 2: he said about the under.
• 30:34
  Speaker 1: Love it.
• 30:35
Speaker 2: Phenomenal. And I do kind of look behind the curtain
• 30:37
Speaker 2: a little bit, but I'll probably sprinkle that on my own.
• 30:40
Speaker 2: But big Gio Lopez guy right now.
• 30:42
  Speaker 1: Yep.
• 30:43
Speaker 2: After watching him. He just got it. And then the
• 30:44
Speaker 2: pass rush. A lot of those explosive plays come from
• 30:48
Speaker 2: when the pass rush starts to get to him. He's
• 30:49
Speaker 2: able to extend it. Because back ends have such a
• 30:51
Speaker 2: hard time when the scramble drill takes place. So I do.
• 30:54
Speaker 2: I really like Wake Forest here. At home. Fan base
• 30:57
Speaker 2: understands what's at stake here. I think it's going to
• 31:00
Speaker 2: be a lot of fun to watch.
• 31:01
Speaker 1: All right, quick potty break just to remind you guys
• 31:03
Speaker 1: about Fando's college football pick-em. Even if you haven't joined
• 31:06
Speaker 1: on the fun this season, it's not too late for
• 31:08
Speaker 1: you to get started. Just remember... 10 against the spread
• 31:11
Speaker 1: picks every week. If you get enough right, you will
• 31:14
Speaker 1: split $ 500, 000 in bonus bet jackpot money. If you outpick
• 31:19
Speaker 1: Pate or one of the boys, you'll get yourself a
• 31:22
Speaker 1: little Fandle profit boost token, and it's all free to play.
• 31:26
Speaker 1: Last week, Taylor netted four picks, Joss netted three, and myself,
• 31:30
Speaker 1: I netted six correct games. So if you would have
• 31:33
Speaker 1: hit four right, you'll get yourself a profit boost token.
• 31:35
Speaker 1: If you go 10 for 10... you will split in
• 31:37
  Speaker 1: a jackpot of $ 500, 000. Last week, 39 lucky folks walked
• 31:42
  Speaker 1: away with over $ 12, 000. Yes, $ 12, 000 in bonus bets, incredible numbers.
• 31:47
Speaker 1: That is all for free to participate. All season long,
• 31:50
Speaker 1: you can tap into FanDuel's college football pick-em. The game
• 31:53
Speaker 1: is live right now, so download the app at fanduel.com
• 31:56
Speaker 1: slash bussin and make your free picks now. Ohio State
• 32:02
Speaker 1: at you. Yeah. Really? This is Ohio State.
• 32:06
  Speaker 3: Finish the intro.
• 32:08
Speaker 2: Ohio State at USC. Ohio State minus 6.5. Total in
• 32:11
Speaker 2: that game is 52.5. You did slap before me.
• 32:13
Speaker 1: Go ahead. That Wisconsin-USC game, absolutely disgusting. Disgusting. Now, Wisconsin,
• 32:21
Speaker 1: I'm not going to say gets away with a little bit.
• 32:23
Speaker 1: They earned those interceptions. They earned those short fields. They
• 32:27
Speaker 1: earned the fact that USC aligned completely abysmal on that
• 32:32
Speaker 1: fourth and two when they have a diamond set on
• 32:34
Speaker 1: the perimeter. And USC has two guys on defense out there.
• 32:38
Speaker 1: Wisconsin obviously scores on that play. USC's not running the
• 32:42
Speaker 1: ball well. And they're very weak on the right side
• 32:45
Speaker 1: of their offensive line. To me, this is Ohio State.
• 32:50
Speaker 1: They've had two weeks to prepare to transition with Luke Fahey, Sinclair.
• 32:53
Speaker 1: We don't know who's going to be playing, I guess,
• 32:55
Speaker 1: the majority of the time. But either way, I just
• 32:58
Speaker 1: have to believe Arthur Smith is going to have a
• 32:59
Speaker 1: good game plan going out there. I think Ohio State's
• 33:01
Speaker 1: going to have a very good day on the ground
• 33:03
Speaker 1: against this USC defense. Even defensively, like they have good
• 33:06
Speaker 1: guys on the line of scrimmage. But when I watch
• 33:08
Speaker 1: their linebacker play, I'm not saying that they're soft physically,
• 33:11
Speaker 1: but they wait for the play to kind of attack
• 33:14
Speaker 1: them before they hit the line of scrimmage. You know
• 33:16
Speaker 1: what I mean? Like they're patting their feet.
• 33:18
Speaker 2: They're like the opposite of what Georgia's off-ball linebackers are.
• 33:20
  Speaker 1: Right, right.
• 33:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, they don't take the fight to the play. They
• 33:23
Speaker 2: wait for the play to come to them.
• 33:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, so I like Ohio State a lot here. To
• 33:26
Speaker 1: cover my six and a half, five units, I'm on it.
• 33:28
Speaker 1: This is Ohio State. This is, this is. Take it.
• 33:35
Speaker 1: Take it. Darius Rucker, take it.
• 33:36
Speaker 2: Any concern for you about USC at home as opposed
• 33:40
Speaker 2: to away and how much different of a team they
• 33:42
  Speaker 2: seem like?
• 33:43
Speaker 1: Doesn't matter to me. You think Lincoln Riley's cooked? Either
• 33:47
  Speaker 1: he's cooked. I think it's a combination of him potentially
• 33:50
Speaker 1: being cooked and him potentially not wanting to be there.
• 33:52
Speaker 1: He just said this is where I want to be.
• 33:55
Speaker 1: All coaches say that. I've had the opportunity. Bob Chesney
• 33:57
Speaker 1: just said this is the greatest place in college football.
• 33:59
  Speaker 1: Come on.
• 34:00
  Speaker 3: No, it's not.
• 34:01
Speaker 1: We're talking about UCLA. UCLA, good ball club. I respect
• 34:04
Speaker 1: everything UCLA has done. But when you're talking about the
• 34:06
Speaker 1: God-tier programs, coaches will say what they need to say.
• 34:11
  Speaker 2: Right, and tell.
• 34:11
Speaker 3: I have a strategy. Let's get back to that in
• 34:14
Speaker 3: a second. I can give more full disclosure on that now.
• 34:17
Speaker 3: How would you handle questions about your job and looking
• 34:21
Speaker 3: around if you were a head coach?
• 34:23
Speaker 1: I would say what a lot of these coaches are saying.
• 34:25
Speaker 1: I would make it seem like nobody can reach out
• 34:29
Speaker 1: to me. I love the spot that I'm at. Everything
• 34:33
Speaker 1: that my agent tells me to say.
• 34:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's all defaulting on. We're focused on this team
• 34:37
Speaker 2: right here. I'm not worried about exterior noise in January, February.
• 34:40
Speaker 2: I'm focused on this week.
• 34:42
Speaker 3: Can I show you what my strategy would be?
• 34:43
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 34:44
Speaker 3: I'm actually serious about this. Okay, I want both of
• 34:46
Speaker 3: you to be reporters. I want you to ask me
• 34:48
Speaker 3: a question about whether I'm leaving here, and then I
• 34:50
Speaker 3: want you to follow it up after I give my answer.
• 34:52
  Speaker 1: Go ahead.
• 34:53
Speaker 2: Josh, there's been a lot of speculation on teams coming
• 34:56
Speaker 2: to possibly poach you based on the success you've had
• 34:58
Speaker 2: this early. in your career in P4, what do you
• 35:02
Speaker 2: have to say to your fan base and how much
• 35:05
Speaker 2: you've done for this school, yet other possibly bigger schools
• 35:08
Speaker 2: wanting you to come there?
• 35:09
Speaker 3: I appreciate the question. I know you have to do
• 35:10
Speaker 3: your job, but I'm actually not going to answer anything
• 35:13
  Speaker 3: associated with that.
• 35:16
Speaker 1: I want to ask my follow-up, but based on what
• 35:17
Speaker 1: you just said, my instinct says you're just going to
• 35:19
Speaker 1: give me the same bullshit.
• 35:20
Speaker 2: But that's not journalism.
• 35:21
Speaker 1: He's talking about the success you had early in your career.
• 35:23
Speaker 1: You're not playing very well right now. There's a lot
• 35:26
Speaker 1: of pressure on you to not be here. Do you
• 35:27
Speaker 1: think about your job security as you head into this
• 35:30
Speaker 1: game against Ohio State?
• 35:32
Speaker 2: So you just did two different teams.
• 35:33
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. So I want you to ask me specifically
• 35:36
  Speaker 3: about rumors.
• 35:38
Speaker 2: Hey, Josh, I'll be a different reporter.
• 35:39
  Speaker 3: Okay, go ahead.
• 35:40
  Speaker 1: Hi, Josh.
• 35:43
Speaker 2: There are just so many teams that are clamoring and
• 35:45
Speaker 2: wanting you. How do you feel about you and wearing
• 35:47
  Speaker 2: the UCLA uniform?
• 35:58
Speaker 1: Okay, we'll move on.
• 35:59
  Speaker 2: We'll move on.
• 36:00
Speaker 1: That's how you do it.
• 36:01
Speaker 3: Tell them one time you're not going to answer questions
• 36:03
Speaker 3: about it and then just stare blankly at them and
• 36:07
Speaker 3: make it so uncomfortable that they move on. Why wouldn't
• 36:11
Speaker 3: you do that? There's no possible way to answer the
• 36:13
Speaker 3: question the right way.
• 36:14
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 36:15
Speaker 3: If words come out of your mouth, they're going to
• 36:17
Speaker 3: use it against you. Because you're going to have to
• 36:18
Speaker 3: say that. You're going to have to say what Chesney's
• 36:20
Speaker 3: saying right now or what Lincoln Riley's saying or what
• 36:23
Speaker 3: Saban said all the way back in the day at
• 36:24
Speaker 3: the Dolphins. And then it's a soundbite used against you
• 36:27
  Speaker 3: for 25 years.
• 36:28
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 36:28
Speaker 3: You can't lie and you can't tell the truth. So
• 36:31
Speaker 3: just don't say anything.
• 36:32
Speaker 2: So you think there's multiple grenades in California right now?
• 36:36
Speaker 3: All right, let's go back to that.
• 36:37
  Speaker 1: Okay.
• 36:37
Speaker 3: So a year ago, pulled the pin, threw it. It
• 36:40
Speaker 3: landed somewhere, and it was about Lincoln Riley.
• 36:44
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 36:44
  Speaker 2: All right.
• 36:45
Speaker 3: I thought last year he was going to take the
• 36:46
Speaker 3: Baylor job. You sure I'm in here? He's around here somewhere.
• 36:49
Speaker 1: No. I think he's on the phone with Lincoln Riley
• 36:50
  Speaker 1: right now.
• 36:50
Speaker 3: You heard me tell him off air that day that
• 36:53
Speaker 3: there's a lot of rumblings that there's Lincoln Riley communication
• 36:57
Speaker 3: with Baylor. There was noise about Texas Tech, which I
• 37:00
Speaker 3: thought was insane because they were in the middle of
• 37:02
Speaker 3: a playoff run, but it was explained to me as,
• 37:04
Speaker 3: trust me, if it goes sideways, blah, blah, blah. And TCU.
• 37:09
Speaker 3: was and is in the mix right now. So it
• 37:12
Speaker 3: looked like it was going to happen last year. It
• 37:14
Speaker 3: didn't happen last year. Same stuff's happening right now. So
• 37:17
Speaker 3: like pull the second grenade, but kind of everyone's talking
• 37:21
Speaker 3: about it now. So I feel more comfortable with it.
• 37:23
Speaker 3: But the stuff that's bubbling now is the same stuff
• 37:25
Speaker 3: that was bubbling last year. It's just, I don't feel
• 37:28
Speaker 3: like the general public was aware to the point where
• 37:32
Speaker 3: after our recording that day, you heard me tell Sherm.
• 37:35
Speaker 3: I can't remember if it was, well, one of you
• 37:37
Speaker 3: heard me tell Sherm and you're like, hold on, Lincoln
• 37:39
Speaker 3: Riley and who? Because it was so far out of
• 37:42
Speaker 3: the realm of believability that he would be associated with
• 37:46
Speaker 3: Baylor or with TCU. Texas Tech didn't even make sense.
• 37:50
Speaker 3: But this stuff was happening last year.
• 37:52
Speaker 2: What about, why is Baylor in the fold? Because if
• 37:56
Speaker 2: you're just a casual fan watching, and even now, like
• 37:58
Speaker 2: I would value USC's head coaching job way higher than
• 38:01
  Speaker 2: I value Baylor's.
• 38:03
Speaker 3: Yeah. So he, I don't feel like has many allies
• 38:05
  Speaker 3: out there. I don't know that he's done a ton
• 38:08
Speaker 3: to endear himself. I think there's a little paranoia about
• 38:11
Speaker 3: the way the overall athletic structure is built out there.
• 38:14
Speaker 3: And he's not alone. This actually exists in a few
• 38:16
Speaker 3: places now where you have AD, but you have GM
• 38:19
Speaker 3: and you have head coach and The way that dynamic
• 38:21
Speaker 3: exists now is pretty new. Some guys are comfortable with it,
• 38:24
Speaker 3: some aren't. The other thing is there's a lot of
• 38:27
Speaker 3: value in restarting the clock. If you're a head coach,
• 38:30
Speaker 3: that's a tale as old as time. If you've got
• 38:33
Speaker 3: enough equity now, get out, go somewhere else, restart the clock. Also,
• 38:36
Speaker 3: I think you'd probably have a lot more comfortable quality
• 38:39
Speaker 3: of life somewhere like a Baylor or a TCU. If
• 38:43
Speaker 3: Texas Tech was open, that would be the dream scenario.
• 38:46
Speaker 3: He's from right down the road. Can you name me
• 38:49
Speaker 3: Lincoln Riley's hometown, by the way?
• 38:50
  Speaker 2: No.
• 38:51
Speaker 1: Muleshoe, Texas. Who's Shoe, Texas?
• 38:53
  Speaker 3: Muleshoe.
• 38:54
  Speaker 2: Hell yeah.
• 38:55
Speaker 3: If you're driving from Lubbock to Albuquerque, you have to
• 38:58
Speaker 3: go through there. That's the only reason I know that
• 38:59
Speaker 3: because we just did that in the spring. Beautiful drive.
• 39:02
  Speaker 3: Got pulled over.
• 39:03
  Speaker 1: $ 25 speeding ticket.
• 39:04
Speaker 3: $ 25 speeding ticket. Paid it right there out the window.
• 39:09
Speaker 1: Gave him just some cash. Did you get points?
• 39:12
  Speaker 3: I don't think so.
• 39:13
  Speaker 2: I don't think a $ 25 speeding ticket is going to
• 39:15
Speaker 2: cause you to get points.
• 39:16
  Speaker 3: I don't think so. It's weird.
• 39:17
  Speaker 2: There's a bunch of things. I do think Lincoln Riley's
• 39:21
Speaker 2: days are numbered at USC. The concern for, if I'm
• 39:23
Speaker 2: a fan of USC, is like, okay, Lincoln Riley leaves.
• 39:25
Speaker 2: Look at the recruiting class he's had. Look at all
• 39:28
Speaker 2: the freshmen that are playing. You said a couple weeks ago, like,
• 39:30
Speaker 2: the players are more tied to the university than they
• 39:32
Speaker 2: are possibly the head coach. That's your thought process. I
• 39:34
  Speaker 2: don't know if that's what you're thinking.
• 39:36
Speaker 1: They didn't commit to him.
• 39:37
Speaker 3: They're not going to lose. I'm telling you. I would
• 39:40
Speaker 3: be shocked if they lost. I'm not going to say
• 39:43
Speaker 3: a single. I'd be shocked if they lost more than
• 39:46
Speaker 3: two players who said, I left because Lincoln Riley left.
• 39:51
Speaker 3: I just don't think it's an issue. I think they know.
• 39:53
Speaker 3: I think they've been very smart with the way that
• 39:55
Speaker 3: they've gone and acquired talent.
• 39:56
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 39:57
Speaker 2: Was buying into the university. The other thing that you said.
• 40:00
Speaker 1: And he's also had time to do it. He's had
• 40:03
Speaker 1: time there. You have a Heisman candidate in Maiava. You've
• 40:08
Speaker 1: had dogs and you've had the players there to at
• 40:12
Speaker 1: least perform above what the standard is.
• 40:15
Speaker 3: But can I say this too? So last week you
• 40:18
Speaker 3: watched them. We just talked about their game against Wisconsin.
• 40:20
Speaker 3: Did they not play like a team that had gotten
• 40:24
Speaker 3: knocked out of playoff contention the week before?
• 40:26
  Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
• 40:27
Speaker 3: They weren't. In fact, they're still in the playoff now.
• 40:30
Speaker 3: They're still in the mix now. Then we go watch
• 40:32
Speaker 3: South Carolina, who's already got three losses. And technically there's
• 40:35
Speaker 3: every reason for them to have mailed it in. They're
• 40:38
Speaker 3: playing with their hair on fire against Florida. They're playing
• 40:40
Speaker 3: lights out. I mean, they're like over the cliff effort-wise
• 40:44
Speaker 3: against Tennessee. And they've got like really, really low likelihood
• 40:47
Speaker 3: to make the playoff. USC's got their whole fate in
• 40:50
Speaker 3: their hands. And they get beat by someone who throws
• 40:53
Speaker 3: for 58 yards total. Right, death by a thousand yards.
• 40:57
Speaker 3: Three scores. Yeah. So the whole effort piece, like to
• 40:59
Speaker 3: get back to the prediction here, that's why I can't
• 41:01
Speaker 3: believe in USC. The whole world's going to be on
• 41:03
Speaker 3: Ohio State here. I'd love to paint the path for USC.
• 41:06
Speaker 3: I'd love to do the road versus home. The Oregon
• 41:09
Speaker 3: game was at home. Mm-hmm. They got beat by double
• 41:11
Speaker 3: digits by a backup quarterback. So I don't have any
• 41:13
Speaker 3: faith in them. I'll go Ohio State minus six and
• 41:17
Speaker 3: a half for three units.
• 41:19
Speaker 1: Hit the table with this.
• 41:21
Speaker 3: I'm not ready to hit the table.
• 41:22
  Speaker 1: Hit the table.
• 41:22
Speaker 3: I'm not ready to hit the table.
• 41:23
Speaker 1: You can hit the table if you want, though.
• 41:24
Speaker 2: I don't want to hit the table. People are talking
• 41:25
Speaker 2: about hitting the table. I think you should hit the table.
• 41:27
Speaker 3: I'm going to hit the table later.
• 41:28
Speaker 2: Hit the table later?
• 41:29
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 41:31
Speaker 3: I hit the table last week.
• 41:31
Speaker 1: It didn't turn out well for me. Yeah. Fair enough.
• 41:35
Speaker 2: You did brush over Texas Tech if that job was available.
• 41:38
Speaker 3: Well, that's one where even last year I kept hearing that.
• 41:40
Speaker 3: I'm saying, why? Like, Joey Maguire is not the problem
• 41:45
  Speaker 3: at Texas Tech.
• 41:45
  Speaker 1: No.
• 41:47
Speaker 3: Show me Joey Maguire with a premier quarterback, not get
• 41:50
Speaker 3: the job done. Then you can talk to me about how, well,
• 41:53
Speaker 3: Texas Tech's got everything they need to win. We just
• 41:55
Speaker 3: need a better head coach. First off, who says Lincoln
• 41:57
Speaker 3: Riley's a better head coach than Joey Maguire? Secondly, why?
• 42:01
Speaker 3: At what point has Joey McGuire failed to deliver with
• 42:04
Speaker 3: all the premier ingredients? We all watched the playoff last year.
• 42:08
Speaker 3: First off, we watched them bust all their way through
• 42:10
Speaker 3: the Big 12 en route to the playoff. And then
• 42:12
Speaker 3: you watch the playoff. Lights out defensive effort. They can't score.
• 42:16
Speaker 3: They can't move the ball. They got Baron Morton. They
• 42:18
Speaker 3: went and tried to get Sorsby. For all we know,
• 42:21
Speaker 3: they made the proper move quarterback-wise, but then the whole
• 42:23
Speaker 3: off-the-field stuff happens. So they're right back in the same
• 42:26
Speaker 3: boat right now. They don't have good enough quarterback play.
• 42:30
Speaker 2: So you don't think that job is going to be
• 42:31
  Speaker 2: available at all?
• 42:31
Speaker 3: I think it'd be stupid if it was available.
• 42:33
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 42:34
  Speaker 3: I don't run Texas Tech.
• 42:35
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 42:36
Speaker 2: But the guy who kind of does run Texas Tech.
• 42:37
Speaker 3: Is putting out tweets. He's mouthed off as soon as
• 42:38
Speaker 3: they lost a game last week.
• 42:40
  Speaker 2: Which is tough.
• 42:41
Speaker 3: Well, it makes you question if that's what he's saying publicly,
• 42:46
Speaker 3: what's he trying to accomplish with that? Or is it
• 42:48
Speaker 3: really just, it doesn't matter that Cody Campbell's a billionaire,
• 42:51
Speaker 3: he still thinks just the way we do as fans,
• 42:53
Speaker 3: and he's just firing it off out of emotion?
• 42:55
Speaker 2: I think that definitely has something to do with it.
• 42:56
Speaker 2: Because when we were in Lubbock just a couple of
• 42:58
Speaker 2: weeks ago, Everybody. Like, was it Buddy at the restaurant?
• 43:02
Speaker 2: He's just singing Joey Maguire's praises. Everyone we came into
• 43:05
Speaker 2: contact with just talks about how much they love Joey Maguire.
• 43:07
Speaker 2: They're obsessed with him. So when I hear about Texas
• 43:10
Speaker 2: Tech possibly opening up, I'm like, unless they just start
• 43:12
Speaker 2: shitting down their leg the rest of the season, because
• 43:14
Speaker 2: they should have beat Cincinnati. Like, Cincinnati beat them fair
• 43:17
Speaker 2: and square. There was no issue there. But, like, they're
• 43:19
Speaker 2: a more talented football team. But I just can't see
• 43:22
Speaker 2: Joey Maguire going anywhere. All that to be said.
• 43:24
Speaker 1: A lot of it, too, had to do with just,
• 43:26
Speaker 1: you were already mentioning it, the quarterback play with Hammond.
• 43:29
Speaker 1: A lot of times it's like timing is off. You
• 43:31
Speaker 1: know what I mean? Like he gets in a quick
• 43:32
Speaker 1: drop back, but the receiver isn't hitting their hits just yet.
• 43:36
Speaker 1: He should have took another extra half step or half second.
• 43:39
Speaker 1: He's out of rhythm. He's just not the most accurate cat.
• 43:46
Speaker 2: Just to get back to this game. Because there was
• 43:49
Speaker 2: the other California head coach that we should talk about
• 43:52
Speaker 2: a little bit later, but for the sake of the show,
• 43:55
Speaker 2: I slapped the table. I'm going Ohio State minus six
• 43:57
Speaker 2: and a half. Last week I sat there and thought
• 44:01
Speaker 2: about Fahey, how he looked when he came to the
• 44:03
Speaker 2: game versus Indiana. He looked startled after two plays. He's
• 44:06
Speaker 2: breathing heavy. You could tell the stadium pulse was very loud.
• 44:08
Speaker 2: But then you go back and watch the film, it's like,
• 44:12
Speaker 2: from a statistics standpoint, Ohio State has not run the
• 44:15
Speaker 2: ball well. in Big Ten play, but they do have holes,
• 44:19
Speaker 2: and they are there. And then you watch USC versus Wisconsin.
• 44:21
Speaker 2: The biggest thing that was so mind-blowing to me, other
• 44:25
Speaker 2: than receivers just having balls hit them in the chest
• 44:27
Speaker 2: and dropping them, is the offensive line for USC, from
• 44:31
Speaker 2: a run standpoint, were getting pushed back. They were losing
• 44:34
Speaker 2: the line of scrimmage in a big way. But also
• 44:36
Speaker 2: in pass pro, they were allowing so much pressure where Maiava,
• 44:40
Speaker 2: as good as a quarterback as he is, he's running
• 44:41
Speaker 2: for his life a lot of that times. And Wisconsin just,
• 44:46
Speaker 2: they didn't do anything special on offense. Like the score
• 44:49
Speaker 2: itself would be like, oh wow, what a blow up.
• 44:50
Speaker 2: But it's like death by a thousand cuts, the Maiava interceptions.
• 44:55
Speaker 2: Like one was horrendous, but off of two interceptions that
• 44:59
Speaker 2: end up in the fringe area and the red zone,
• 45:01
Speaker 2: you get three points out of that, which just tells
• 45:03
Speaker 2: me that they just wore you down and out physical
• 45:05
Speaker 2: to the game and slowly just pulled away. There wasn't
• 45:08
Speaker 2: anything spectacular about Wisconsin.
• 45:10
Speaker 1: One of Wisconsin's touchdowns too, it was like second 19 touchdowns.
• 45:14
Speaker 1: USC gets a DPI, it's a defensive pass interference. And
• 45:19
Speaker 1: next thing you know, it's like they, they score Wisconsin
• 45:21
Speaker 1: scores on the next play. You got them in second 19,
• 45:24
Speaker 1: like in the, the mid red zone area, you get
• 45:27
Speaker 1: a defensive pass interference and then you're right there on
• 45:30
Speaker 1: the goal line. They punch it into score. Yeah.
• 45:33
Speaker 3: I will say, even as I'm riding with y'all, maybe
• 45:35
Speaker 3: not for as quite as many units, but I'm on
• 45:37
Speaker 3: Ohio state minus six and a half. I think a
• 45:39
Speaker 3: lot of people are going to be on that side
• 45:41
Speaker 3: because they're remembering the Wisconsin game and they're saying, man,
• 45:43
Speaker 3: if you, If you can't do better than seven points
• 45:45
Speaker 3: against Wisconsin, and I've already seen you lose at home
• 45:47
Speaker 3: to Oregon, so I don't really fear you playing at home.
• 45:50
Speaker 3: Why should I pick you against Ohio State? This year's
• 45:53
Speaker 3: been full of crazy outcomes. So there have been multiple
• 45:56
Speaker 3: times every week where we're going, man, how'd that happen? Sure,
• 45:58
Speaker 3: that can happen here. The way it would happen is
• 46:01
Speaker 3: turnovers don't carry over week to week. So if they
• 46:03
Speaker 3: just have a clean turnover game, or I mean, Ohio
• 46:05
Speaker 3: State's the one starting a new quarterback. Maybe Ohio State
• 46:08
Speaker 3: turns it over. That's the way it could happen. They
• 46:10
Speaker 3: could just have a high competitive character game, but I
• 46:13
Speaker 3: fundamentally doubt that from USC. That's why I'm picking against them.
• 46:17
Speaker 3: But if they force an early turnover against Ohio State,
• 46:20
Speaker 3: Ohio State will go into a shell offensive play calling
• 46:24
Speaker 3: because they're terrified because they know the only way we're
• 46:26
Speaker 3: going to lose this game is if quarterback turns this
• 46:28
Speaker 3: ball over. So we're going to try and get out
• 46:30
Speaker 3: of here with a 17 to 10 win or something
• 46:32
Speaker 3: like that. The other thing is if USC just pops
• 46:34
Speaker 3: them early for a quick score, It just injects all
• 46:37
Speaker 3: the life and confidence in the world into USC. And
• 46:40
Speaker 3: you've got to think, with a new quarterback here, if
• 46:44
Speaker 3: you're down 7-0, think about it from the standpoint of
• 46:47
Speaker 3: Ohio State minus 6.5. You already know, I've got to
• 46:50
Speaker 3: outscore them by 14 the rest of the way with
• 46:53
Speaker 3: a new quarterback. So that's how quickly that dynamic can shift.
• 46:56
Speaker 3: And I'm cognizant of all that. That's why I'm only
• 46:58
Speaker 3: going three units. But I still feel like 27-10 or
• 47:03
Speaker 3: something like that is in the cards here for Ohio State.
• 47:06
Speaker 3: But if they don't get it done, then Ohio State's
• 47:10
Speaker 3: still got a tough road. And if they don't get
• 47:12
Speaker 3: it done, that means USC won. How are you supposed
• 47:15
Speaker 3: to look at USC? Coming out of this game, they're
• 47:18
Speaker 3: a two-loss team. They just got one of the best
• 47:21
Speaker 3: wins of the year. But even then, people will discount
• 47:23
Speaker 3: it because in the aftermath of it, they'll say, well,
• 47:25
Speaker 3: I mean, Ohio State back up quarterback. They're not as
• 47:28
Speaker 3: good as we assumed they would be. But USC would
• 47:31
Speaker 3: still be alive. After a week of people talking about
• 47:33
Speaker 3: Lincoln Riley, including his fan base. talking about Lincoln Riley
• 47:36
Speaker 3: being on hot seat and we're connecting them to all
• 47:38
Speaker 3: these jobs. I think that may be what Riley's thinking
• 47:40
Speaker 3: at the press conference is guys, we're not, we're not
• 47:42
  Speaker 3: dead yet.
• 47:43
  Speaker 1: Right.
• 47:43
Speaker 3: Like I still make the playoff. I can't even be
• 47:46
Speaker 3: entertaining this right now.
• 47:47
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 47:48
Speaker 2: It's just when the effort, the lack of effort that
• 47:51
Speaker 2: took place in the trenches and some of these receivers,
• 47:53
Speaker 2: they have so many young guys on their offense that
• 47:56
Speaker 2: it seemed like a rookie hitting a rookie wall in
• 47:58
  Speaker 2: the NFL.
• 47:59
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 47:59
Speaker 2: To where you get to the back half of the
• 48:01
Speaker 2: season and it's starting to wear on them. But we're
• 48:04
Speaker 2: in October. Like a lot of these guys were playing
• 48:06
Speaker 2: in the playoffs last year. So that doesn't make a
• 48:07
Speaker 2: whole lot of sense.
• 48:08
Speaker 3: And they were coming off a bye.
• 48:09
  Speaker 1: Well, yeah.
• 48:10
Speaker 2: So I think for Ohio State, it's run the ball
• 48:13
Speaker 2: effectively and just Don't get away from the run when
• 48:16
Speaker 2: it doesn't work out early. Because you brought up the
• 48:19
Speaker 2: best point for USC is like, if you can score early,
• 48:21
Speaker 2: if you can get 10 points in the first 20
• 48:24
Speaker 2: minutes of the game, you're going to cause Ohio State
• 48:26
Speaker 2: to hit a panic mode where they have to use
• 48:28
Speaker 2: whichever quarterback they have. Jeremiah Smith, as talented as he is.
• 48:32
Speaker 2: And the whole thing around Julian saying was, well, he's
• 48:34
Speaker 2: got four out there. He's just going to throw it out. Well,
• 48:36
Speaker 2: Julian saying like has been very accurate with the football.
• 48:40
Speaker 2: You can't just put anybody in that position. Just like, Oh,
• 48:42
Speaker 2: four is there. He's going to make it happen. Cause
• 48:45
Speaker 2: he could, you have a possibility, but if you're not
• 48:50
Speaker 2: as accurate as Julian has been, like he's, he's given
• 48:53
Speaker 2: Jeremiah Smith opportunities to make those alien like catches. And
• 48:59
Speaker 2: so these quarterbacks come in, they might, throw it a
• 49:02
Speaker 2: little too high or a little too much to the
• 49:04
Speaker 2: left or right where it's a little more off target.
• 49:05
Speaker 2: Where Indiana, not saying USC's defense is Indiana's defense, but
• 49:09
Speaker 2: they kind of showed like this is how you take
• 49:11
Speaker 2: that cat away. So you're going to need a Chris
• 49:13
Speaker 2: Henry or a McEwen, one of those guys, to help
• 49:16
Speaker 2: you out a little bit. And it doesn't have to
• 49:18
  Speaker 2: be shots down the field. It's a slant. It's a
• 49:20
Speaker 2: little out to the perimeter. Allow them to get the
• 49:22
Speaker 2: yak because they are more talented of a football team.
• 49:25
Speaker 2: And then it's running their outside zone the way they
• 49:27
Speaker 2: have and then switching up into inside and duo. Getting
• 49:30
Speaker 2: them running east and west and then hitting them north
• 49:32
Speaker 2: and south. I do love Ohio State in this position.
• 49:37
Speaker 2: I can't wait to see how this game unfolds. Because
• 49:39
Speaker 2: it's going to change, I think, a lot of our opinions.
• 49:41
Speaker 2: Because if they go out and they just assume at
• 49:42
Speaker 2: the old Ohio State, your talk about them being out
• 49:45
Speaker 2: of the college football playoff, me being extremely Michigan biased
• 49:47
Speaker 2: on Buston and Pate last week, that all kind of
• 49:49
Speaker 2: goes out the window.
• 49:50
Speaker 1: I think Josh has got Ohio State back in the fight.
• 49:52
Speaker 3: So when I watched USC, I update my playoff predictions
• 49:55
Speaker 3: every week now. I stick with my preseason, but I
• 49:58
Speaker 3: update them for fun week over week. So last week,
• 50:01
Speaker 3: I was slightly leaning Ohio State out of the playoff.
• 50:04
Speaker 3: But then when I watch USC do what they didn't
• 50:06
Speaker 3: do against Wisconsin– Also, knowing Dante Moore is out for
• 50:09
Speaker 3: the year, so they're not going to have to face
• 50:10
Speaker 3: Dante Moore. It just ups the percentage chances, I think,
• 50:13
Speaker 3: that they only lose two games instead of three. So,
• 50:16
Speaker 3: like right now, I'm slightly leaning them in the playoff.
• 50:19
Speaker 1: I'll be interested to see.
• 50:20
Speaker 2: So, three units, five units, five units.
• 50:22
  Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
• 50:22
Speaker 2: All of us, Ohio State, minus six and a half.
• 50:24
Speaker 1: Now, it's fine that we went a little long-winded on
• 50:26
Speaker 1: that game because this one we got coming up is
• 50:28
Speaker 1: absolutely disgusting. Wisconsin and Iowa. Iowa favored, minus three and
• 50:33
Speaker 1: a half. The over-under on this game is 36 and
• 50:35
Speaker 1: a half points. Josh, we can start with you. How
• 50:42
Speaker 1: do you make this one exciting?
• 50:43
  Speaker 3: Well, I don't.
• 50:44
  Speaker 1: You don't. I do not.
• 50:45
Speaker 3: Do we know what network this is on? Jesse, you
• 50:47
Speaker 3: know what network this is on? Is it CBS? Is
• 50:51
Speaker 3: it three? What time? No, it can't be CBS. It's
• 50:53
Speaker 3: 11 a.m. kick. Oh, it's Big Noon. This is Big
• 50:57
Speaker 3: Noon kickoff? This game ends in two hours, 20 minutes.
• 51:01
Speaker 3: This may be the shortest game of the year.
• 51:02
  Speaker 1: Yes, it does.
• 51:03
Speaker 3: This is a service academy level run time.
• 51:05
  Speaker 2: Absolutely.
• 51:06
Speaker 3: Good luck finding time for commercials. I'm going to go Iowa,
• 51:10
Speaker 3: and I'm going to lay the three and a half.
• 51:11
Speaker 3: You see the juice on this. Wisconsin's minus 122 at
• 51:15
Speaker 3: three and a half. That's how much FanDuel is valuing
• 51:17
Speaker 3: that half point because this has Iowa field goal win
• 51:20
Speaker 3: written all over it. I just think Wisconsin, you could
• 51:24
Speaker 3: be sky high on them coming off the USC game.
• 51:28
Speaker 3: I don't know anything that you did against USC that
• 51:31
Speaker 3: applies to Iowa. You couldn't face any more an antithesis
• 51:35
Speaker 3: of a team week over week than USC transitioning to Iowa.
• 51:38
Speaker 3: And Iowa's coming off losing Floyd of Rosedale. And there's
• 51:41
Speaker 3: something about that pig. When you lose it, you're out
• 51:44
Speaker 3: for blood the next week. And, of course, what that
• 51:47
Speaker 3: means here is Iowa's going to win 13-6. But I'm
• 51:50
Speaker 3: going to take Iowa minus three and a half. And
• 51:52
Speaker 3: I am not going to slap the table ever in
• 51:54
Speaker 3: an Iowa game. But I will go three units again.
• 51:58
  Speaker 1: Three units.
• 51:58
Speaker 3: Three and a half. Three units, yes.
• 52:00
Speaker 1: I liked Wisconsin plus three and a half here. Then
• 52:03
Speaker 1: I watched the USC game. And to me, Wisconsin, it's
• 52:07
Speaker 1: just another version of Iowa. They're not very good offensively.
• 52:12
Speaker 1: They take advantage of turnovers, which I don't even think
• 52:14
Speaker 1: they got to really take advantage of the turnovers. I
• 52:16
Speaker 1: don't even think that they got points off the interceptions.
• 52:20
Speaker 1: And then my brain just like, Iowa coming off of
• 52:22
Speaker 1: a loss. Is Wisconsin... gonna out iowa iowa in the
• 52:28
Speaker 1: same spot in iowa in kinnick that answer to me
• 52:34
Speaker 1: is no so i'm gonna go three units as well
• 52:36
Speaker 1: for i would have covered minus three.
• 52:37
  Speaker 2: And a half yeah i haven't followed kirk ferencz's entire
• 52:41
Speaker 2: career but for as long as i can remember iowa's
• 52:44
Speaker 2: game plan has been run the ball efficiently play field
• 52:46
Speaker 2: position and have elite defense This is the first year
• 52:49
Speaker 2: in recent memory that they've kind of gotten away from that.
• 52:52
Speaker 2: Like every year they've been bottom of the Big Ten
• 52:54
Speaker 2: in pass attempts per game. Right now they're sitting in
• 52:56
Speaker 2: the middle at like over 30. They benched Heklinski last
• 53:00
Speaker 2: week after having one interception. They're bringing Hank Brown and
• 53:03
Speaker 2: he has two interceptions. So that's telling me if I'm
• 53:08
Speaker 2: Kirk Ferentz and you've been at a place for 25 years,
• 53:10
Speaker 2: it's like, let's just get back to who we were
• 53:13
Speaker 2: and run the football and play the field position game
• 53:16
Speaker 2: in our special teams and have our defense play elite
• 53:19
Speaker 2: against a quarterback whose average yards per attempt when he
• 53:23
Speaker 2: passes the ball is 1.2 yards.
• 53:25
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 53:25
  Speaker 2: And so.
• 53:25
Speaker 1: The issue is that Iowa's defense hasn't been as elite
• 53:28
Speaker 1: as they've been in the years past. You could. Do
• 53:30
Speaker 1: they have to be elite against the Wisconsin? You're right.
• 53:33
Speaker 2: You're right. It's like, everyone's going to look at the
• 53:36
Speaker 2: box score. We've already talked about against USC and be like, wow,
• 53:38
Speaker 2: their offense, they must be humming a little bit. Like
• 53:41
Speaker 2: they blew out USC. It's like, that's absolutely not the case.
• 53:44
Speaker 2: And the fact like, I kind of like the total here,
• 53:47
Speaker 2: even though it's so low, because Iowa's running back is out.
• 53:50
Speaker 2: And that's, I mean, is he out or is it questionable?
• 53:53
Speaker 2: He's done. So it's like, do we even see 13
• 53:58
Speaker 2: points in this game? Do we even see that? But
• 54:01
Speaker 2: I just, something about Iowa City. They're going to throw
• 54:05
Speaker 2: the ball seven times in this game. They're going to
• 54:08
Speaker 2: run it. They're going to wear them down. And I
• 54:10
Speaker 2: got Iowa minus three and a half. I'll go four units.
• 54:14
Speaker 2: Four units in that big stick. Big stick. Got to
• 54:16
Speaker 2: get back in there. Got to get back in the race.
• 54:19
Speaker 2: But no one's going to.
• 54:19
  Speaker 1: Oh, Iowa.
• 54:20
  Speaker 3: Iowa.
• 54:21
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 54:21
  Speaker 2: In Iowa.
• 54:22
  Speaker 1: Casey's Pizza too. Casey's Pizza also. It's a delicacy around
• 54:27
  Speaker 1: that place.
• 54:27
  Speaker 3: Yeah, no.
• 54:28
Speaker 1: Iowa, Missouri. Yeah, bro. Casey's Pizza's where it's at.
• 54:31
Speaker 2: Yeah. The thing that's sad is they had two offensive
• 54:33
Speaker 2: linemen who were probably first round picks and they're just
• 54:35
Speaker 2: not getting the push. It's like, how are we not
• 54:38
Speaker 2: just killing people with this mid zone like they have
• 54:41
Speaker 2: for years and years and years?
• 54:42
Speaker 3: I think we ought to do. sometime towards the end
• 54:45
Speaker 3: of the year is like set up more bleacher seating
• 54:49
Speaker 3: or maybe like clear out the bleachers and just go
• 54:51
Speaker 3: get 20 Iowa season ticket holders. Long time Iowa season
• 54:56
Speaker 3: ticket holders. Mic them up and just ask about their life.
• 55:00
Speaker 3: What is that like? When you're driving to the game,
• 55:02
Speaker 3: your maximum expectation sometimes is I hope we hit 21 points.
• 55:07
Speaker 3: That's like if we open it up and everything goes right,
• 55:10
Speaker 3: we're going to get into the low to mid 20s today.
• 55:13
Speaker 3: But they're there every week.
• 55:16
  Speaker 1: Every week.
• 55:16
Speaker 3: You have to recondition your worldview. You have to view
• 55:20
Speaker 3: the world through a different lens to be a hardcore
• 55:24
Speaker 3: Iowa season ticket holder. Because what you turn on the
• 55:27
Speaker 3: TV and see other teams doing, that's not in the
• 55:29
Speaker 3: cards for you. You're not trying to. You're never going
• 55:33
Speaker 3: to go down that road. What must that be like?
• 55:36
  Speaker 3: I think it's more you're buying the season ticket. You're
• 55:38
Speaker 3: just wanting to get the boys together to.
• 55:40
Speaker 1: Talk about, hey, let's look at these eight or nine
• 55:42
Speaker 1: wins we might get this year, but let's talk about
• 55:44
Speaker 1: the wrestling team. Let's talk about wrestling.
• 55:48
  Speaker 3: That makes sense.
• 55:49
Speaker 1: You're bundled up, you know what I mean? Because it's
• 55:51
Speaker 1: going to get cold, windy in Iowa. Not a whole
• 55:53
Speaker 1: lot going on. By the way, shout out for the dads.
• 55:56
Speaker 1: Dan Gable sent in a video. Shout out for the dad.
• 55:59
Speaker 1: So maybe that's the tell, too. Like, this is Iowa
• 56:01
Speaker 1: all the way. Yeah. If you could slap the table twice,
• 56:03
Speaker 1: you would. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You pushed me up
• 56:06
  Speaker 1: to four units.
• 56:07
  Speaker 2: There he is.
• 56:08
  Speaker 1: It's a Dan Gable play. There he is. It's a
• 56:10
Speaker 1: Dan Gable play. That's the death of me.
• 56:14
Speaker 2: This will be the most boring game of the year,
• 56:16
Speaker 2: and that's coming off of Indiana and Michigan.
• 56:18
  Speaker 1: Like, this is.
• 56:19
Speaker 2: It's going to be disgusting.
• 56:20
Speaker 3: Good luck to Clapton, the boys, though. I'm sure it's
• 56:22
Speaker 3: going to be a lot of fun. You're going to
• 56:24
Speaker 3: make your flight. You will make your flight.
• 56:26
Speaker 1: You can probably bump it up a few hours as well.
• 56:28
  Speaker 1: All right.
• 56:29
Speaker 2: We got Utah at Cincinnati. Cincinnati coming up with a
• 56:32
Speaker 2: big win. Utah's favorite. Both of them call out big wins, actually.
• 56:35
Speaker 2: Utah's favorite by six and a half points total in
• 56:37
Speaker 2: that game is 56 and a half.
• 56:41
Speaker 1: Willie. This is a great one right here, fellas. Love
• 56:44
Speaker 1: Dave Pierre. This mismatch on the board is the rushing
• 56:47
Speaker 1: attack versus Cincinnati's rush defense. Yep. They can run the
• 56:51
Speaker 1: ball all over them. Cincinnati, a lot of offense versus
• 56:56
Speaker 1: Texas Tech. I don't trust either of these teams in
• 57:00
Speaker 1: this spot. Iowa, massive night win against Houston, big one.
• 57:04
Speaker 2: This could be a classic letdown spot.
• 57:07
Speaker 1: Utah. Yeah, what did I say? You said Iowa. Sorry,
• 57:09
Speaker 1: I said Josh Payne when I said JP earlier. Utah,
• 57:12
Speaker 1: big late-night win against Houston. They're riding high. They needed that.
• 57:16
Speaker 1: Both teams kind of needed that win. Kind of a
• 57:18
Speaker 1: classic emotional letdown spot going to Cincy. Cincy... You could
• 57:22
Speaker 1: say the same thing. Massive win against Texas Tech. You're
• 57:26
Speaker 1: up 30s or you're up whatever the score was. You're
• 57:28
Speaker 1: up big and you're going for two, trying to cram
• 57:31
Speaker 1: it down Texas Tech's throat. They're tagging Campbell in the
• 57:35
Speaker 1: graphics after the game. This is also a potential letdown
• 57:37
Speaker 1: spot for Cincinnati. And Utah, a couple weeks ago, almost
• 57:41
Speaker 1: dropped one against Colorado. So I can't, as much as
• 57:43
Speaker 1: I like Dan Pierre in this rushing attack, I can't trust,
• 57:46
Speaker 1: I just can't trust either team in this spot. So
• 57:48
Speaker 1: I'm going under three units, 56 and a half here.
• 57:52
  Speaker 3: Interesting.
• 57:53
Speaker 1: Very interesting. I mean, Utah's the number one scoring. Dude,
• 57:57
  Speaker 1: I know.
• 57:58
  Speaker 3: I'm with you.
• 57:58
Speaker 1: What was the score last week?
• 58:00
  Speaker 3: 13-6?
• 58:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, fair enough. Versus two teams, I think. Houston was
• 58:04
Speaker 2: two or three in the Big 12, but 38 points
• 58:06
Speaker 2: per game versus 40 points per game.
• 58:08
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 58:08
  Speaker 2: So I don't hate it, but I love Utah. I
• 58:11
Speaker 2: love Utah. I love Dan Pierre. Was it Wayshawn Parker?
• 58:15
  Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
• 58:17
Speaker 2: The creativity on offense. Cincinnati gives up so many yards.
• 58:21
  Speaker 1: Their defense....
• 58:23
Speaker 2: All their defense did, they took advantage of some bad
• 58:25
Speaker 2: plays by Hammond, but they allowed the explosives from 20
• 58:28
Speaker 2: to 20 and then gave Texas Tech enough time to
• 58:32
Speaker 2: have self-inflicted wounds, and that's how they stayed in this game.
• 58:35
Speaker 2: Utah's rush defense versus Cincinnati and Cole Tabb, I think
• 58:38
Speaker 2: he's got 9.5 yards per carry right now. He can
• 58:41
Speaker 2: run the shit out of the football, but that's strength
• 58:43
Speaker 2: on strength, and I tend to lean on Utah because
• 58:46
Speaker 2: they've done it for so many years. Dampier is one
• 58:49
Speaker 2: of the most difficult guys in the country to take down.
• 58:52
Speaker 2: He makes something out of nothing. And he just doesn't
• 58:56
Speaker 2: make those types of mistakes. He hasn't been as bulletproof
• 58:59
Speaker 2: as he was last year. But I kind of love
• 59:01
Speaker 2: the idea of Utah just running away, playing in the
• 59:03
Speaker 2: Bay 12 championship and probably winning the Bay 12 at
• 59:05
Speaker 2: this point. Like they are a extremely fun team to watch.
• 59:08
Speaker 2: And I think the letdown spot for Cincinnati is much
• 59:11
Speaker 2: greater than it is for Utah. So I love Utah
• 59:15
Speaker 2: minus six and a half here and I'll go four units.
• 59:18
  Speaker 3: Four units.
• 59:19
Speaker 2: If I could go five, I'd go five on that
• 59:21
Speaker 2: because I do love me some Thampere.
• 59:23
Speaker 3: It's crazy how you have self-imposed rules.
• 59:26
  Speaker 1: I didn't make these rules.
• 59:27
Speaker 3: You didn't make the rule that you can't go five units?
• 59:30
Speaker 1: I did go five innings.
• 59:31
Speaker 2: I didn't make the rule. You can only do it once.
• 59:33
Speaker 2: You know me, Josh.
• 59:33
Speaker 1: Oh yeah. Like we do the show. I show up
• 59:35
Speaker 1: on Friday and I'm like, what are we doing? I'm
• 59:37
Speaker 1: laying on the couch with you. Yeah.
• 59:38
  Speaker 3: Rule fall.
• 59:39
Speaker 2: I'm just going to tell me what to do.
• 59:42
Speaker 3: Uh, this reeks of Tennessee, South Carolina to me. I've
• 59:45
Speaker 3: coming off a big, dramatic home win and going on
• 59:49
Speaker 3: the road against the team that was left for dead early,
• 59:52
Speaker 3: but has shown some life lately. And now that team
• 59:55
Speaker 3: is a six and a half point dog at home.
• 59:57
Speaker 3: So I'm going to pivot. I'm going to pivot. I'm
• 59:59
Speaker 3: going to pivot for the second week in a row.
• 1:00:01
Speaker 3: I'm going to go five units against Utah, Cincinnati plus
• 1:00:05
Speaker 3: six and a half. Reasonable shot at the outright upset here,
• 1:00:08
Speaker 3: but I'm not going money line.
• 1:00:09
Speaker 2: I'll tell you what, Cincinnati's offensive line might be the
• 1:00:12
Speaker 2: best in the country. They might be the best in
• 1:00:14
  Speaker 2: the country.
• 1:00:14
Speaker 3: But you ignored it. I did.
• 1:00:16
  Speaker 1: I did.
• 1:00:18
Speaker 3: It's about letdown spots. It's like, Hey, Hey, late, late
• 1:00:22
Speaker 3: body clock game. And now going all the road across
• 1:00:24
Speaker 3: the time zone, earlier body clock game. Since he's just
• 1:00:28
Speaker 3: hanging out at home, six and a half points, huh? Okay,
• 1:00:30
Speaker 3: we'll take him. May not need him, but we'll take him. Also,
• 1:00:34
Speaker 3: and I can't prove this, I think Conor Wegman may
• 1:00:36
Speaker 3: have been hurt a little bit in that game last week.
• 1:00:39
Speaker 3: He looked a little worse for the wear.
• 1:00:41
Speaker 2: He did have that long run, and he kind of
• 1:00:43
Speaker 2: felt it was slow to get up. He kind of
• 1:00:45
Speaker 2: watched that play, and he was like, I don't think you,
• 1:00:47
Speaker 2: nothing happened on that play.
• 1:00:49
Speaker 3: Now, am I writing off Utah's win entirely? A little bit.
• 1:00:52
Speaker 1: It feels that way. Yeah, it definitely feels that way.
• 1:00:55
Speaker 2: I'm going to beat it. If you can't beat them,
• 1:00:57
Speaker 2: join them type of category. That was high on Wagman.
• 1:00:59
Speaker 2: I loved Houston in this game.
• 1:01:00
Speaker 3: Yeah, I did too. In all seriousness, I just needed
• 1:01:03
Speaker 3: to see Utah play a high level team and they did.
• 1:01:06
Speaker 3: So they were really impressive. Like I'm joking around, but seriously,
• 1:01:09
Speaker 3: they're good. So sometimes I use the concept of being
• 1:01:12
Speaker 3: able to see through a team. Like some of them
• 1:01:14
Speaker 3: are just really hollow and they're kind of built by a,
• 1:01:17
Speaker 3: weak resume. I wasn't saying Utah was that, but I
• 1:01:20
Speaker 3: needed to make sure they weren't that going into last
• 1:01:22
  Speaker 3: week's game. So they're not. They're legit. I just think
• 1:01:25
Speaker 3: this is a really tough spot for any team to
• 1:01:27
  Speaker 3: be playing in.
• 1:01:28
Speaker 1: And the entire season has shown you those tough spots
• 1:01:30
Speaker 1: literally every week. Cincinnati beating... Texas Tech, though. We could
• 1:01:36
Speaker 1: get a slap off going if you go Ohio State
• 1:01:39
Speaker 1: down to four units and go this on five.
• 1:01:41
Speaker 2: And then we just get a showdown. Yeah, we could
• 1:01:43
Speaker 2: get a showdown. But last time I took your guys' advice,
• 1:01:46
Speaker 2: I took Michigan plus seven and a half. Yes, Josh.
• 1:01:49
Speaker 3: You took Michigan Moneyline.
• 1:01:51
Speaker 2: I took them plus seven and a half. The show
• 1:01:54
Speaker 2: was ending, and I said, I'll take them.
• 1:01:56
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I want to talk to you about.
• 1:01:58
Speaker 3: Twice on the show today, you have talked about us
• 1:02:00
Speaker 3: pressuring you into doing that. Yeah, I know. But if
• 1:02:02
Speaker 3: you go back to the tape, we had moved on.
• 1:02:05
Speaker 3: We were four games separate.
• 1:02:06
  Speaker 1: I know.
• 1:02:07
Speaker 3: And you just kind of randomly said, you know what,
• 1:02:10
Speaker 3: by the way, I got to insert here. I'm going
• 1:02:11
  Speaker 3: Michigan money line.
• 1:02:12
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:02:13
Speaker 3: And we both looked at each other like, where did
• 1:02:14
  Speaker 3: that come from?
• 1:02:15
  Speaker 2: Right.
• 1:02:16
  Speaker 3: That wasn't pressure.
• 1:02:17
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:02:17
Speaker 2: I think you just watched your own playbook unfold on
• 1:02:21
Speaker 2: this show right now where I made a mistake. However,
• 1:02:23
Speaker 2: I'm not taking any accountability for the mistake and I'm
• 1:02:26
Speaker 2: choosing to blame it on you guys.
• 1:02:27
Speaker 3: That's my playbook. That's my playbook.
• 1:02:29
Speaker 1: You're never wrong. It's the players and coaches that make
• 1:02:31
  Speaker 1: you wrong.
• 1:02:32
Speaker 3: It's the kids that screw up.
• 1:02:33
Speaker 1: It's the kids that screw up.
• 1:02:33
Speaker 2: And who's going to blame them?
• 1:02:35
  Speaker 1: No.
• 1:02:35
  Speaker 2: They're 18 to 35 college kids.
• 1:02:37
Speaker 3: You can't mess with it.
• 1:02:39
  Speaker 1: You know? It's a crazy world we're living in. There's
• 1:02:41
Speaker 1: some grown men out there. Yeah.
• 1:02:42
Speaker 2: Like mistakes are going to happen.
• 1:02:45
  Speaker 1: So.
• 1:02:46
  Speaker 2: Blame yourself.
• 1:02:47
Speaker 3: By the way, if Cincinnati wins this, Scott Satterfield's name
• 1:02:50
Speaker 3: is going to be all over the job market. It
• 1:02:53
Speaker 3: already is behind the scenes. It's going to be all
• 1:02:55
Speaker 3: over the job market.
• 1:02:56
Speaker 1: Next head coach for UCLA.
• 1:02:58
Speaker 3: That implies that the current head coach at UCLA is
• 1:03:00
Speaker 3: going somewhere. Do you have some information?
• 1:03:02
  Speaker 2: I know what I did.
• 1:03:03
Speaker 3: That's the best job in the country. UCLA football is
• 1:03:06
Speaker 3: the best job in the country.
• 1:03:06
Speaker 1: It's the number one football spot in the country. Is
• 1:03:08
Speaker 1: there some fodder out there on Bob Chessie not being
• 1:03:10
Speaker 1: at UCLA next year? Listen, guys.
• 1:03:14
Speaker 2: All I'll say is this. Just keep your eye on Bob.
• 1:03:16
Speaker 3: There's no way. There's no way you created Bob Chesney.
• 1:03:20
Speaker 3: There's no way you just did that.
• 1:03:23
  Speaker 1: Threw a grenade?
• 1:03:25
Speaker 3: How many of my playbooks are you going to use today?
• 1:03:27
Speaker 2: Enough because they're working.
• 1:03:29
Speaker 3: I'm rolling with sentencing because of offensive line. You don't
• 1:03:31
Speaker 3: even look at it. And now you drop grenades and
• 1:03:34
Speaker 3: you throw Michigan's players under the bus.
• 1:03:36
Speaker 1: Who did I throw?
• 1:03:37
  Speaker 2: Michigan's players?
• 1:03:37
  Speaker 3: No.
• 1:03:38
Speaker 2: I started the show by saying it wasn't the player's fault.
• 1:03:41
Speaker 2: It wasn't the head coach's fault. It's not the DC's fault.
• 1:03:45
Speaker 2: whose fault is it I'm telling you whose fault it's not.
• 1:03:48
  Speaker 1: That's a what a veteran move right I'm not answering
• 1:03:52
Speaker 1: any more questions when it comes to Michigan Gravely hey
• 1:03:58
Speaker 1: Gravely our lawnmower Gravely game of the week here Florida
• 1:04:05
Speaker 1: at Georgia Georgia favored by 11 and a half now
• 1:04:08
Speaker 1: it opened I want to say at 10 and a
• 1:04:10
Speaker 1: half yeah The over-under, the total on this game is
• 1:04:13
  Speaker 1: 55 and a half.
• 1:04:13
Speaker 2: I'd love to see where SEC paid is going with
• 1:04:15
Speaker 2: this one. What's your computer saying?
• 1:04:17
Speaker 3: You want to see where I'm going on the Invesco
• 1:04:19
Speaker 3: QQQ Atlanta Gridiron Classic? You're interested in what I think
• 1:04:23
Speaker 3: about the Invesco QQQ Atlanta Gridiron Classic.
• 1:04:26
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:04:26
Speaker 2: What a name, by the way. Top tier name.
• 1:04:29
Speaker 3: That's someone who should keep it forever.
• 1:04:31
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:04:31
Speaker 3: That's someone who knows college football.
• 1:04:33
Speaker 2: No one should get on the podium after that game
• 1:04:35
Speaker 2: and boycott that name.
• 1:04:37
Speaker 1: They should embrace it 100%. What do you like? What
• 1:04:43
  Speaker 1: do you love?
• 1:04:44
Speaker 3: I don't love anything in this.
• 1:04:45
  Speaker 1: Really?
• 1:04:46
Speaker 3: No, I don't love anything. So everything early in the
• 1:04:52
Speaker 3: season about Florida's passing attack was really predicated off them
• 1:04:56
Speaker 3: being able to run the ball. At least if it's
• 1:04:58
Speaker 3: going to be Philo. It could be Tramiel Jones that
• 1:05:00
Speaker 3: starts for them. That's who played against Texas and won.
• 1:05:02
Speaker 3: But regardless of who starts at quarterback, Jaden Ball has
• 1:05:08
Speaker 3: to be a weapon for them. They, where's that paper
• 1:05:11
Speaker 3: popper of a stat? Nothing against Missouri. They ran for
• 1:05:15
Speaker 3: 39 or whatever it was against Missouri. No, I had
• 1:05:18
Speaker 3: my games mixed up. They did nothing against Missouri. He
• 1:05:20
Speaker 3: had 15 carries for 59 against South Carolina. You'll notice
• 1:05:23
Speaker 3: both of those are losses, blowout losses. Texas held him
• 1:05:27
Speaker 3: to 3.6 yards per carry. So if you could tell
• 1:05:30
Speaker 3: me what he's going to do, and also if you
• 1:05:32
Speaker 3: could tell me how third down's going to go, here's
• 1:05:34
Speaker 3: another little paper popper. Florida is 120th in third down defense.
• 1:05:38
Speaker 3: Georgia is seventh in third down offense. Don't love that.
• 1:05:42
Speaker 3: But what I do love is Brad White, new defensive
• 1:05:46
Speaker 3: coordinator at Florida. He's had some success against Bobo. Then
• 1:05:49
Speaker 3: you got Buster Faulkner, who is the new offensive coordinator
• 1:05:52
Speaker 3: at Florida, who's had a lot of success going up
• 1:05:56
Speaker 3: against Kirby and Glenn Schumann.
• 1:05:58
Speaker 1: When it comes to spreads. Correct.
• 1:06:01
Speaker 3: When it comes to performance against expectation.
• 1:06:03
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:06:04
Speaker 3: Like they've been at inferior places. I am very slightly
• 1:06:09
Speaker 3: leaned towards Florida plus 11 and a half. It is
• 1:06:13
Speaker 3: one unit. There's no confidence. My fairly sizable model says
• 1:06:17
Speaker 3: Georgia minus 10. So it thinks the number is almost right.
• 1:06:22
Speaker 3: Both of these teams are coming off a buy. Going
• 1:06:23
Speaker 3: to be a bloodbath. Should be in either Athens or
• 1:06:26
Speaker 3: Gainesville since they have to play this away from Jacksonville
• 1:06:28
Speaker 3: for two years. But instead, they sold out for millions
• 1:06:32
  Speaker 3: of dollars.
• 1:06:33
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:06:33
  Speaker 3: Couldn't be us.
• 1:06:35
  Speaker 1: Couldn't be us.
• 1:06:36
  Speaker 2: Absolutely.
• 1:06:37
  Speaker 1: Sorry.
• 1:06:37
Speaker 3: Can't wait to go to Wake Forest voluntarily this Friday.
• 1:06:40
Speaker 3: So I'm going to take Florida plus 11 and a half.
• 1:06:42
  Speaker 1: Okay.
• 1:06:43
  Speaker 3: One unit.
• 1:06:44
Speaker 1: One unit. One unit. All right.
• 1:06:46
Speaker 2: I'm going to take Georgia minus 11 and a half,
• 1:06:48
Speaker 2: four units on this.
• 1:06:52
Speaker 3: I really hope you know what you're doing.
• 1:06:54
Speaker 2: The last two weeks would say I don't. But the
• 1:06:56
Speaker 2: weeks before that says I would.
• 1:06:58
  Speaker 1: Absolutely.
• 1:06:59
Speaker 2: I'm essentially this entire college football season.
• 1:07:02
Speaker 1: I'm up and down. I'm all over the place.
• 1:07:04
Speaker 2: But I do love Gunnar Stockton in this position by
• 1:07:07
  Speaker 2: a week after a loss.
• 1:07:10
  Speaker 1: And then Florida.
• 1:07:11
Speaker 2: We brought up Florida's past defense over and over again
• 1:07:13
Speaker 2: on Bustin' a Pater.
• 1:07:14
Speaker 1: 121 in the country.
• 1:07:16
Speaker 2: Florida... The way they tried to fix their pass defense
• 1:07:19
Speaker 2: against Texas was bringing pressure and making Arch Manning feel
• 1:07:23
Speaker 2: that and then make mistakes. Gunnar Stockton is very good
• 1:07:26
Speaker 2: against being pressured. He's got 11 touchdowns, one interception on that.
• 1:07:31
Speaker 2: And we saw the game plan when Auburn played them
• 1:07:35
Speaker 2: was they won the turnover battle. They ran it with
• 1:07:38
Speaker 2: their quarterback with their plus one runs and eventually just
• 1:07:41
Speaker 2: put the clock out enough to where Georgia made enough
• 1:07:43
Speaker 2: mistakes for Auburn to win that game. Florida has to
• 1:07:46
Speaker 2: run the ball effectively.
• 1:07:47
  Speaker 1: They did a.
• 1:07:47
Speaker 2: Great job of that in September. It's been a completely
• 1:07:49
Speaker 2: different month for them. In October, they've been horrendous at it.
• 1:07:53
Speaker 2: And Georgia's rush defense is way better than their pass defense.
• 1:07:58
Speaker 2: We talked about the linebackers earlier. We kind of just
• 1:08:00
Speaker 2: sprinkled them a little bit, but they're off-ball linebackers. They
• 1:08:02
Speaker 2: take the fight to the play as opposed to letting
• 1:08:05
Speaker 2: the fight come to them. So I see Florida being
• 1:08:08
Speaker 2: put in a position to throw the ball, even with
• 1:08:10
Speaker 2: Brown coming back and Wilson, their wide receivers, being at
• 1:08:13
Speaker 2: full health. Just whoever's playing quarterback, mistakes will be made.
• 1:08:17
Speaker 2: And I don't think we're going to see very many
• 1:08:19
Speaker 2: mistakes from Gunnar Stockton coming off Auburn, having the mistakes,
• 1:08:23
Speaker 2: being a big reason why they lost the game, and
• 1:08:25
Speaker 2: having a bye week. So I like Georgia a lot
• 1:08:27
  Speaker 2: minus 11.5 here.
• 1:08:28
Speaker 1: Love them, actually. I got– give me Georgia. Give me
• 1:08:33
Speaker 1: three units. Florida had this surge, like you said, in September. Yeah,
• 1:08:38
Speaker 1: they beat Texas. Texas' O-line was abysmal. in this game,
• 1:08:42
Speaker 1: and you talked about how bad their pass defense is,
• 1:08:46
Speaker 1: how bad Florida's is, and how they started to pressure
• 1:08:49
Speaker 1: Arch Manning, and a lot of the offensive schematics for
• 1:08:52
Speaker 1: Texas was throwing the ball behind the line of scrimmage.
• 1:08:55
Speaker 1: They weren't really taking shots downfield. I think Florida is
• 1:08:58
Speaker 1: more of a... overrated SEC team at this point in
• 1:09:03
Speaker 1: the season. I like Georgia a lot here. Dude, coming
• 1:09:06
Speaker 1: off a bye week, losing to an unranked Auburn team. Georgia,
• 1:09:10
  Speaker 1: Kirby Smart's history, they're 9-0 after an in-season loss game.
• 1:09:15
Speaker 1: And that margin, that average margin is like 21 points. Like,
• 1:09:18
Speaker 1: The dogs are going to get right in the bye week.
• 1:09:21
Speaker 1: So I like Georgia here. I like Georgia. Again, I'm
• 1:09:24
Speaker 1: going to go three units. Yeah. Unless Florida gets Byron
• 1:09:30
Speaker 1: Brown on their team or has a 6'3, 240-pound quarterback
• 1:09:35
Speaker 1: that's gashing Georgia in the run game because that's what
• 1:09:39
Speaker 1: they were able to do against Georgia. They don't have
• 1:09:41
Speaker 1: that unless they just put in some scheme with Tramell
• 1:09:45
Speaker 1: Jones throughout the bye week to where they have this
• 1:09:47
Speaker 1: quarterback run game going. But he's like a buck 90.
• 1:09:50
Speaker 1: He's not the biggest quarterback. I like Georgia here.
• 1:09:53
Speaker 2: Tell me about Tramell Jones and how he dissects the defense.
• 1:09:55
Speaker 2: We were talking about that on Monday. Yeah, you watch
• 1:09:58
Speaker 2: all of his attempts, completions, whatever it is. You just
• 1:10:01
  Speaker 2: watch him.
• 1:10:02
Speaker 1: He's not scanning across the field. He's not going through progressions.
• 1:10:05
Speaker 1: He's going to his first read. Now, I'm sure he
• 1:10:08
Speaker 1: can make a little bit of a jump like, you know, Again,
• 1:10:11
Speaker 1: having having that extra time. But he seems like a
• 1:10:15
Speaker 1: one read type of cat, a first read guy, and
• 1:10:16
Speaker 1: he's going to throw it. He's going to trust whatever
• 1:10:19
Speaker 1: he's seeing. He's going to throw it no matter what.
• 1:10:21
Speaker 1: I think there's picks to be had out there for
• 1:10:22
Speaker 1: this Georgia defense. They have the talent to match up
• 1:10:25
Speaker 1: with Florida's receivers. I think they're going to stop the
• 1:10:28
Speaker 1: run with ball. And I like Georgia here again coming off.
• 1:10:32
Speaker 1: A loss to an unranked team, having a bye week,
• 1:10:34
Speaker 1: having to sit on that pissed off. You know Kirby
• 1:10:37
Speaker 1: Smart's ready to rock. The country's talking about the more
• 1:10:39
Speaker 1: physical football team's going to win. We've seen Kirby Smart's
• 1:10:41
Speaker 1: speeches when it comes to physicality. We've seen the country,
• 1:10:45
Speaker 1: the media say, which Florida team's going to show up?
• 1:10:47
Speaker 1: To me, it doesn't matter which Florida team's going to
• 1:10:48
Speaker 1: show up because Georgia's going to take it to them.
• 1:10:52
Speaker 1: So Georgia, my 11-and-a-half.
• 1:10:53
Speaker 3: First thing you said is all that matters. If Florida
• 1:10:55
Speaker 3: doesn't run the ball, the rest of the game's done already.
• 1:10:58
Speaker 1: Done, yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. Because neither quarterback has played that well.
• 1:11:05
Speaker 1: In Auburn, again, it's like they had Byron Brown on
• 1:11:07
Speaker 1: the ground. I want to say that he had nine
• 1:11:11
Speaker 1: runs clipping him over five yards. He had four over
• 1:11:14
Speaker 1: ten yards. He had a scramble for 25 yards. He's
• 1:11:16
Speaker 1: a big quarterback that can run the ball. Florida doesn't
• 1:11:19
Speaker 1: have that. They don't have it. Dogs?
• 1:11:23
Speaker 2: End of this episode to just let you know that
• 1:11:25
Speaker 2: whether I'm at a tailgate or on the couch watching
• 1:11:27
Speaker 2: Michigan on Saturday, Jack Daniels is a staple of my
• 1:11:29
Speaker 2: game day roster. Go ahead and do me a favor,
• 1:11:31
Speaker 2: expand your playbook. The cinnamon kick of Jack Fire, the
• 1:11:35
Speaker 2: smooth taste of Jack Honey, the crisp and refreshing Jack Apple,
• 1:11:38
Speaker 2: and the only blackberry bursting with Jack. Personally, your Boise
• 1:11:41
Speaker 2: Jack Honey guy got a little sweetness to me. No
• 1:11:43
Speaker 2: matter how you stack your unit, there's a Jack for
• 1:11:46
Speaker 2: every football fan. Let's get back to this episode.
• 1:11:50
Speaker 1: I got a dog for you.
• 1:11:52
  Speaker 3: Me too.
• 1:11:54
Speaker 1: Baylor. Moneyline. UCF. UCF. Classic letdown spot. Yeah. Late game.
• 1:12:04
Speaker 1: You take down the number two team in the country.
• 1:12:06
Speaker 1: You're sitting there at home. Frost, he's doing the media
• 1:12:08
Speaker 1: run right now. Getting patted on the ass. Baylor, little
• 1:12:12
Speaker 1: interim head coach surge. Going out to UCF. On a
• 1:12:16
Speaker 1: short week. Friday night.
• 1:12:18
Speaker 3: Give me Baylor money line over UCF. Two things I love.
• 1:12:24
Speaker 3: I love betting on backup quarterbacks. I love betting on
• 1:12:27
Speaker 3: teams the week after a coach is fired. Theory is
• 1:12:30
Speaker 3: it can't get any worse than it was. That's the
• 1:12:33
Speaker 3: whole reason the coach got fired. It can only get better.
• 1:12:36
Speaker 3: And the point spread reflects where you've been, not where
• 1:12:39
Speaker 3: you potentially could go. So there's always value. So I'm
• 1:12:41
  Speaker 3: going Baylor plus.
• 1:12:42
Speaker 1: One and a half.
• 1:12:43
Speaker 2: Might as well take the money line. Take the money line.
• 1:12:45
Speaker 2: It's one and a half points.
• 1:12:46
Speaker 3: I just want to see 2726 UCF so badly.
• 1:12:50
Speaker 2: I got Colorado Moneyline versus Kansas State.
• 1:12:56
Speaker 1: I have no respect for Kansas State. You don't have
• 1:12:59
Speaker 1: any respect for Kansas State. No, I don't. I feel
• 1:13:01
Speaker 1: like it's kind of more hate than anything else. It's
• 1:13:03
  Speaker 1: not hate.
• 1:13:04
Speaker 2: I would have to put effort to have hate. I
• 1:13:08
Speaker 2: just don't care for the ball club.
• 1:13:10
Speaker 3: We're not worth the effort.
• 1:13:11
Speaker 2: That would cause me to raise my heart rate, take action.
• 1:13:17
Speaker 2: And I just said that, I'm like, we out there.
• 1:13:19
  Speaker 3: It's Kansas State.
• 1:13:20
Speaker 1: Kansas State. I feel like you heard me bring up
• 1:13:22
Speaker 1: Kansas State, and then a couple times you've put your
• 1:13:24
Speaker 1: eyes on them. They haven't been that?
• 1:13:27
  Speaker 3: No.
• 1:13:27
Speaker 1: So you're just like, this is Kansas State.
• 1:13:29
Speaker 2: But I've heard you talk about Kansas State for not one,
• 1:13:30
Speaker 2: but two years. And a sneaky team.
• 1:13:34
  Speaker 1: Look at them.
• 1:13:34
Speaker 2: And then I had to watch Avery Johnson's family fight
• 1:13:38
Speaker 2: across the pond week one last year. Every time they've
• 1:13:41
Speaker 2: been brought up in this show, I don't think... they've
• 1:13:45
Speaker 2: had a positive outcome anytime they've been brought up on
• 1:13:48
Speaker 2: this show in a positive light or a negative light.
• 1:13:50
Speaker 1: Even in real time, we were standing there on Texas
• 1:13:52
Speaker 1: Tech sideline and they had the Kansas State game going.
• 1:13:54
Speaker 1: I forget who they were playing, but they were down
• 1:13:57
Speaker 1: and not looking good. You're like, look at Kansas State.
• 1:14:00
Speaker 3: It was Houston. Was it Houston?
• 1:14:02
Speaker 1: No, because Kansas State ended up rolling and winning. And
• 1:14:04
Speaker 1: then I'm like trying to find Taylor and he was
• 1:14:06
Speaker 1: nowhere to be found. And I'm like, Kansas State kind
• 1:14:08
Speaker 1: of turned it on. But the time I was like, oh, Kansas,
• 1:14:11
Speaker 1: oh man, they're kind of letting me down. And you're like, bro,
• 1:14:13
Speaker 1: you're in this Kansas State.
• 1:14:14
Speaker 3: Was Baylor up there?
• 1:14:16
Speaker 1: It was two weeks ago.
• 1:14:17
Speaker 3: I'm just going to keep naming teams.
• 1:14:19
  Speaker 1: Two weeks ago.
• 1:14:19
Speaker 2: Was it Kansas? We're already putting too much effort into
• 1:14:22
Speaker 2: Kansas State right now.
• 1:14:23
  Speaker 1: It's Kansas.
• 1:14:24
Speaker 3: I got him on the Romano Express this week. I
• 1:14:26
  Speaker 3: love Kansas State.
• 1:14:27
Speaker 1: Yes, sir. Joshua Bate.
• 1:14:34
Speaker 2: Uh parlays i gotta get a parlay this week what
• 1:14:37
Speaker 2: the fuck are the parlay.
• 1:14:38
Speaker 1: I've hit the parlay two out of the last three
• 1:14:40
Speaker 1: just fyi that's the whole blueprint yeah the blueprint has
• 1:14:44
Speaker 1: hit your parlays go ahead hot hand i lost one
• 1:14:47
Speaker 1: game last weekend it was tennessee money line it ain't
• 1:14:50
Speaker 1: just parlays buddy but i got a parlay for you
• 1:14:53
Speaker 1: go ahead here are the spreads here gentlemen Michigan minus
• 1:14:57
Speaker 1: six and a half. Hell yeah. Ohio State minus six
• 1:14:59
Speaker 1: and a half. Georgia minus five and a half. Now,
• 1:15:02
Speaker 1: here are the money lines. Iowa, Nebraska, Mizzou. That is
• 1:15:08
Speaker 1: plus 842. Gentlemen, I feel good about that one.
• 1:15:16
Speaker 3: Three money lines. Arizona, Northwestern, South Carolina.
• 1:15:20
  Speaker 1: Who's Arizona playing?
• 1:15:22
Speaker 3: It takes a step.
• 1:15:24
Speaker 1: You're really putting your balls on the line with South Carolina.
• 1:15:28
Speaker 1: Because immediately when that phone call was taking place, JP
• 1:15:32
Speaker 1: had a monologue on Bussin, and I'm like, you got
• 1:15:35
Speaker 1: to go into Norman, Oklahoma this week. After a massive win,
• 1:15:38
Speaker 1: you stormed the field. Cocktober's alive and back.
• 1:15:41
Speaker 2: It's Wednesday, and JP's still beaming.
• 1:15:43
Speaker 1: You know what Mazeo Bennett did Monday? Posted consistency 5 a.m.
• 1:15:50
Speaker 3: Did you know that? Did you know that?
• 1:15:51
  Speaker 1: No.
• 1:15:52
Speaker 3: This game takes place Saturday, right? What day is Saturday?
• 1:15:55
Speaker 1: You already know, man.
• 1:15:57
Speaker 3: All right, no worries.
• 1:15:58
  Speaker 2: Halloween.
• 1:15:59
Speaker 1: The finale of Cocktober. Finale.
• 1:16:02
Speaker 3: Halloween's secondary to the finale of Cocktober.
• 1:16:06
  Speaker 1: Might be, actually.
• 1:16:07
Speaker 2: If they win this week.
• 1:16:09
Speaker 1: If they win this week.
• 1:16:11
Speaker 2: Yeah, but you and I, we already, I told you
• 1:16:13
  Speaker 2: on the plane.
• 1:16:14
Speaker 1: You're fucking right. I picked against them last week. Tennessee
• 1:16:16
Speaker 1: should have won that damn game.
• 1:16:18
Speaker 2: Three touchdowns called back by penalties?
• 1:16:23
  Speaker 3: Yeah, stop cheating.
• 1:16:24
Speaker 2: Stop cheating. I got Baylor Moneyline, Oregon Moneyline, NC State Moneyline, Michigan,
• 1:16:31
Speaker 2: alt spread minus nine and a half for a very conservative,
• 1:16:35
Speaker 2: plus 572. I like that. That is a golf clap word.
• 1:16:40
Speaker 1: Thank you. You like that one?
• 1:16:42
Speaker 3: You're relying on Oregon to beat Chip Kelly.
• 1:16:45
Speaker 1: I am. And Oregon. Fuck. I know, dude.
• 1:16:52
Speaker 2: You talk about USC packing it in. Is that happening
• 1:16:56
  Speaker 2: with Oregon?
• 1:16:57
  Speaker 3: Packing it in?
• 1:16:58
Speaker 1: I mean, if they haven't already packed.
• 1:17:00
Speaker 3: Man, I want to say no. The modern locker room
• 1:17:06
Speaker 3: is such that these are not a bunch of guys
• 1:17:08
Speaker 3: who grew up in Oregon, that dreamed of playing for Oregon,
• 1:17:11
Speaker 3: that are willing to die for Oregon. I hope they don't,
• 1:17:15
Speaker 3: but nothing would surprise me.
• 1:17:17
Speaker 1: Yeah. Cause you know, the conversations, the conversations at this
• 1:17:21
Speaker 1: point in the year, when you're, you're out of the
• 1:17:23
Speaker 1: college football playoff or it looks that way, like in
• 1:17:28
Speaker 1: the NFL, a lot of those speeches and conversations turn into,
• 1:17:34
Speaker 1: you're still playing for 31 other teams play for the
• 1:17:38
Speaker 1: name on the back, not the front plate, find something
• 1:17:41
Speaker 1: to play for. And to think that this younger generation
• 1:17:44
Speaker 1: in college, Not that they can't think that way, but
• 1:17:47
Speaker 1: a lot of these guys are probably hitting up their
• 1:17:49
Speaker 1: agency and like, you know, what their market is.
• 1:17:52
Speaker 3: Or the other way around. Agents hitting them up.
• 1:17:55
Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Like just a lot of distraction. You want
• 1:17:59
Speaker 1: to get back to this? And not just 31 teams.
• 1:18:01
Speaker 1: Like you're looking at, well, how many teams are there
• 1:18:02
  Speaker 1: in college football?
• 1:18:03
  Speaker 3: 138, 139? 138.
• 1:18:03
Speaker 1: It varies year by year. It varies. But yeah, I just, damn.
• 1:18:13
  Speaker 1: It ain't good.
• 1:18:14
Speaker 2: And the fact that so many of those players decided
• 1:18:16
Speaker 2: not to go to the NFL last year. Like, Dante
• 1:18:19
Speaker 2: Moore being like, we're hanging up for the rest.
• 1:18:21
  Speaker 1: Of the season.
• 1:18:21
  Speaker 3: Running back, yeah.
• 1:18:22
Speaker 2: And he's got to. I think it's the correct move
• 1:18:25
Speaker 2: for him for a long-term career success. Yeah, it just
• 1:18:28
Speaker 2: sucks that it's happening to Oregon.
• 1:18:29
Speaker 1: No doubt. Like, your team's out of it. Team's out
• 1:18:32
Speaker 1: of it. And Dante Moore was looked at as going, what,
• 1:18:34
Speaker 1: top three in the NFL draft? I think in a
• 1:18:36
Speaker 1: lot of ways, like, argued for the number one overall
• 1:18:38
Speaker 1: pick this year. a mess to makers out there doing
• 1:18:41
Speaker 1: this thing. And that's how, that's what people are talking
• 1:18:43
Speaker 1: about going on. And as bad as the offense has
• 1:18:46
Speaker 1: looked without him, you know what I mean? You can't
• 1:18:48
Speaker 1: like you're all of the angles, you can't risk going
• 1:18:52
Speaker 1: out there and putting on bad.
• 1:18:54
Speaker 2: Tape, putting on bad tape with guys that might have
• 1:18:57
Speaker 2: one foot a half out the door.
• 1:18:58
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 1:18:59
Speaker 2: And the funniest thing about that is if the draft
• 1:19:00
Speaker 2: order stays the way it is right now, like the
• 1:19:03
Speaker 2: first overall pick will be Jeremiah Smith.
• 1:19:06
Speaker 1: Yeah. Cause chargers. And they're not going to– they got
• 1:19:10
Speaker 1: their quarterback. Mitchell? What's up?
• 1:19:13
Speaker 3: Since Dante's probably coming back, Rayola kind.
• 1:19:16
Speaker 2: Of went to Oregon to.
• 1:19:20
Speaker 1: Kind of replace. Sac State.
• 1:19:22
  Speaker 3: Oh.
• 1:19:22
Speaker 1: Are you saying what does Dylan do?
• 1:19:24
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 1:19:25
Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I mean, I'm not sure. It probably depends
• 1:19:27
Speaker 1: on the coordinator, like changes that happen in the offseason.
• 1:19:31
Speaker 1: Like they'll be looking. Everybody's going to be looking at
• 1:19:34
Speaker 1: all their options. Yeah.
• 1:19:35
  Speaker 3: Including Oregon.
• 1:19:36
Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Oregon will be in the
• 1:19:39
Speaker 1: market for a quarterback.
• 1:19:41
  Speaker 3: No, multiple quarterbacks.
• 1:19:46
Speaker 2: No, Dante's gone. This is last year. He's going to
• 1:19:49
Speaker 2: the NFL. Yeah, he is currently in Florida, Arizona, or
• 1:19:53
Speaker 2: Texas trading for the combine. That's where he's at. But yeah, Dylan.
• 1:20:00
Speaker 3: It just didn't work.
• 1:20:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, it didn't work. It just didn't work.
• 1:20:02
Speaker 2: He's going to have to go to a new place,
• 1:20:03
Speaker 2: and he's going to have to make it work at
• 1:20:04
  Speaker 2: a smaller program.
• 1:20:06
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:20:06
  Speaker 2: Oh, good.
• 1:20:07
Speaker 1: You know who came from Sac State? Scataboo.
• 1:20:12
  Speaker 2: It works out.
• 1:20:13
Speaker 3: He needs to take the Scataboo route.
• 1:20:14
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:20:15
Speaker 2: He needs to start lowering the crown of his helmet. Yeah,
• 1:20:18
Speaker 2: his expectations as well.
• 1:20:20
  Speaker 3: Either or.
• 1:20:21
Speaker 1: That's what he needs to start.
• 1:20:21
Speaker 2: He needs to work on that neck strength is what
• 1:20:23
Speaker 2: he's got to start working on.
• 1:20:24
Speaker 1: All right. Scataboo went to Sac State? Yeah. Didn't know that.
• 1:20:28
Speaker 2: So he started out and then he transferred to ASU.
• 1:20:30
  Speaker 3: Breeding ground.
• 1:20:30
  Speaker 1: Didn't know that.
• 1:20:31
Speaker 2: Yeah. And that's your guy. You knew about Scataboo before
• 1:20:35
Speaker 2: the rest of the world knew about Scataboo.
• 1:20:36
  Speaker 3: That's true.
• 1:20:37
Speaker 1: That is... That's my ball player right there. Yeah, that's
• 1:20:40
Speaker 1: your guy. I am proud of him. You should be.
• 1:20:43
Speaker 1: Running through that dude's face last week. I mean, he's
• 1:20:45
Speaker 1: ran through multiple faces. Yeah. I am proud of him.
• 1:20:48
Speaker 1: If he isn't watching, which I'm sure he is. He
• 1:20:50
Speaker 1: has to be. Good show, fellas. Good show. Great show.
• 1:20:53
Speaker 1: Fun show. Phenomenal show.
• 1:20:54
